J40nB494_p0561c04進院日,靈燦監院領段對廷公、翔高式公三護法請J40nB494_p0561c05上堂。問:「天寧已震嘉聲,大覺重開生面,人傑地靈即J40nB494_p0561c06且置,點鐵成金事若何?」師云:「俊快手腳。」進云:「與麼則J40nB494_p0561c07從前汗馬無人識,秪要重論蓋代功。」師云:「失口道著。」J40nB494_p0561c08進云:「東風一夕來上苑,移得瓊花到雉城。」師云:「三千J40nB494_p0561c09里外。」問:「黃檗得臨濟,千載下父子聯芳;大覺接興化,J40nB494_p0561c10七百祀弟兄媲美。既登父兄堂搆,請展從上家風。」師J40nB494_p0561c11便打,僧禮拜起,云:「還當得麼?」師云:「猶嫌少在。」問:「孤峻J40nB494_p0561c12處請師一接。」師便打,進云:「恁麼則當陽有路無私曲,J40nB494_p0561c13正令全提絕古今也。」師又打,乃云:「廣大覺場,人天雲J40nB494_p0561c14湧,山僧承乏而來,且道舉揚箇甚麼即得?若也說佛J40nB494_p0561c15說法,乃是諸方用剩底土苴;更或論性論心,亦為禪J40nB494_p0561c16和不食底餿飯。何則?蓋本分事上絕不容這些骨董J40nB494_p0561c17故。而今兄弟們聞箇聞聲悟道、見色明心,便擬向落J40nB494_p0561c18花啼鳥、霽月光風上東覷西捕,縱饒捕得,早是八尺J40nB494_p0561c19楔、丈二釘釘在你眼裏了也。豈不聞:『心是根,法是塵,J40nB494_p0561c20兩種猶如鏡上痕,塵盡垢除光始現,心法雙忘性即J40nB494_p0561c21真。』永嘉老雖道得十成,若到我臨濟門下,正好買草J40nB494_p0561c22鞋行腳。諸仁若善參詳,堪報不報之恩,共助無為之J40nB494_p0561c23化。且啟後承先一句又作麼生道?」揮拂子,云:「目擊普J40nB494_p0561c24天飛化雨,一花開遍少林春。」舉:「昔日法燈和尚示眾J40nB494_p0561c25云:『山僧本欲深棲岩竇,隱遯過時,只緣先師有未了J40nB494_p0561c26公案,今日特來為伊了卻。』時有僧出問:『如何是未了J40nB494_p0561c27公案?』法燈云:『祖禰不了,殃及兒孫。』僧云:『過在甚麼處?』J40nB494_p0561c28法燈云:『過在我殃及你。』」師云:「法燈老漢三年不違父J40nB494_p0561c29道,可謂孝矣,但殃及平人是為一短。山僧亦本欲深J40nB494_p0561c30棲岩竇,隱遯過時,只緣先師有未了公案,特來為伊J40nB494_p0562a01了卻。或有僧出問:『如何是未了公案?』只向道:『驗在目J40nB494_p0562a02前。』他若知休識咎,自然兩不相妨,豈不克全先美哉?」J40nB494_p0562a03遂顧左右,云:「久立眾慈,伏惟珍重。」下座。
J40nB494_p0562a04萬庵大師同道堅、裕然二上座暨眾檀越請上堂。問:J40nB494_p0562a05「法幢久豎在邗江,今日親移大覺場,重整頹綱即且J40nB494_p0562a06止,斬新條令請師揚。」師打,云:「即今不可謂之斬舊。」進J40nB494_p0562a07云:「可謂獅子翻身正此時。」師云:「你試哮吼看。」僧連喝J40nB494_p0562a08兩喝,師云:「逐塊不少。」問:「今日春風料峭,大家卓朔寒J40nB494_p0562a09毛,明知是者邊事,因甚許多人到此茫然?」師云:「不得J40nB494_p0562a10以己妨人。」進云:「何不道取一轉,使人瞥地去?」師云:「你J40nB494_p0562a11要第二杓惡水那?」進云:「那邊事又作麼生?」師云:「待你J40nB494_p0562a12到那邊向你道。」進云:「若然,則達磨老子秪堪與和尚J40nB494_p0562a13提草鞋。」師云:「是何言與?」進云:「無位真人不妨更添一J40nB494_p0562a14重光彩。」師云:「要且沒交涉。」問:「天寧堂上已見全提,大J40nB494_p0562a15覺場中更請垂範。」師云:「太無厭生。」進云:「若不登樓望,J40nB494_p0562a16焉知滄海深?」師云:「徒勞神力。」進云:「到這裏只得兵隨J40nB494_p0562a17印轉、將逐符行去也。」師云:「消得與麼,消得與麼。」問:「滹J40nB494_p0562a18沱一派流出東皋時如何?」師云:「且道水深多少?」進云:J40nB494_p0562a19「龍歸大海波濤湧,鳳到蒼梧氣象閒。」師云:「念得來要J40nB494_p0562a20且不相似。」僧便喝,師便打;僧又喝,師亦打;僧連喝兩J40nB494_p0562a21喝,師云:「痴人棒打不死。」乃卓拄杖,云:「此是從上祖佛J40nB494_p0562a22煆煉凡聖之所,今日山僧不吝手腳,效渠箇樣子去J40nB494_p0562a23也。」乃豎起拄杖,云:「德山一生用不盡底特地拈來,汝J40nB494_p0562a24諸人眼似銅鈴,不可謂之不見。」復卓拄杖,云:「汝諸仁J40nB494_p0562a25耳似灶門,不可謂之不聞;既見既聞,不可不謂之發J40nB494_p0562a26真歸元;既發真歸元也,本乎天者親乎上、本乎地者J40nB494_p0562a27親乎下,恭惟赤肉團上無位真人,各各起居納祐,慶J40nB494_p0562a28無不宜。如是,則不動干戈定太平也,何必長期百二、J40nB494_p0562a29中制九旬,方為之開廣大爐韝哉?爾現前一眾盡是J40nB494_p0562a30煆過底精金,聊聞舉著,便合知歸;如其不爾,頂上一J40nB494_p0562b01搥,莫言不道。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0562b02二月十九日,啟建大悲懺期,許元文、張景明、鄧公正、J40nB494_p0562b03宮通颺四居士請上堂。僧問:「禾山鼓、雪峰毬,太煞郎J40nB494_p0562b04當;臨濟喝、德山棒,尤嫌漏逗。未審和尚有何方便?」師J40nB494_p0562b05云:「靜聽雷聲起上方。」進云:「一氣不言含有象,萬靈何J40nB494_p0562b06處謝無私?」師云:「觀世音菩薩來也。」進云:「學人禮拜有J40nB494_p0562b07分。」師云:「聽事不真。」問:「滿口道得底卻不知有,知有底J40nB494_p0562b08又道不得,畢竟是甚麼人提唱宗乘?」師豎拂子,云:「好J40nB494_p0562b09生著眼。」進云:「纔有一絲頭,便是一絲頭。」師云:「莫錯會J40nB494_p0562b10好。」進云:「休將三寸燭,擬比太陽輝。」師云:「是你自畫了J40nB494_p0562b11也。」問:「圓通大啟,四眾雲臻,未審有何指示?」師便喝。進J40nB494_p0562b12云:「其中端的旨,能有幾人知?」師云:「俊哉!此是觀音入J40nB494_p0562b13理之門。」進云:「恁麼則學人依而行之去也。」師云:「直須J40nB494_p0562b14珍重。」乃云:「廣大陀羅尼一切具足,豈待萬劫薰修、千J40nB494_p0562b15生磨煉,然後稱圓滿無礙?諸仁要識渠相貌麼?」乃以J40nB494_p0562b16拂子打○相,云:「全體光明,全體殊勝,全體如優曇花、J40nB494_p0562b17如如意寶、如景星、如慶雲,成就萬德不藉功勳,除滅J40nB494_p0562b18千災豈勞神用?苟能信受奉行,觀音妙智力總在一J40nB494_p0562b19心具足,非有假於他術。」復擊拂子,云:「擇火拈香,身即J40nB494_p0562b20道場,伏惟諸德直下承當。」良久,云:「賺殺一船人。」便下J40nB494_p0562b21座。
J40nB494_p0562b22生公、蓮社二大師同眾居士請上堂。僧問:「棒頭有眼,J40nB494_p0562b23正令全提;喝下無私,全機獨露。即今大覺門開,幾人J40nB494_p0562b24心空及第?」師云:「一二三四五。」進云:「一種沒絃琴,惟師J40nB494_p0562b25彈得妙。」師云:「你還出得手麼?」進云:「紛紛香氣爐中發,J40nB494_p0562b26拂拂春風座上生。」師云:「大眾側耳。」僧出畫○相,云:「只J40nB494_p0562b27者箇明如杲日、堅若金剛,因甚擲向搕𢶍堆頭,一總J40nB494_p0562b28無人顧著?」師云:「大覺門下。」進云:「大方之家宛爾不同。」J40nB494_p0562b29師云:「你又作奇特會那?」進云:「某甲共缽盂喫飯,怎敢J40nB494_p0562b30說客話?」師云:「未許領略一半。」進云:「刮垢磨光,須憑和J40nB494_p0562c01尚。」師打,云:「叫休不肯休,只待雨淋頭。」問:「古人道:『歇下J40nB494_p0562c02腰包,便問箇事。』且道:如何是箇事?」師舉拂子,云:「拋出J40nB494_p0562c03大家看。」進云:「麈尾頭邊飛化雨,大千無處不沾恩。」師J40nB494_p0562c04云:「陳爛葛藤,不勞拈出。」進云:「忽有掀倒禪床、喝散大J40nB494_p0562c05眾底到來,和尚又作麼生?」師云:「你不是這副手腳。」進J40nB494_p0562c06云:「某甲今日罪過。」師打,云:「也少不得這一頓。」問:「五更J40nB494_p0562c07殘月落,天曉白雲飛,分明目前事,不是目前機。請問:J40nB494_p0562c08如何是目前機?」師云:「春日晴,黃鸝鳴。」進云:「恁麼則豁J40nB494_p0562c09開曠劫塵迷夢,頓省千生未了疑。」師云:「不意你見到J40nB494_p0562c10這裏。」進云:「機關不是韓光作,莫把胸襟當等閒。」師云:J40nB494_p0562c11「謾誇好手。」問:「世尊說法四十九年,未曾說著一字,今J40nB494_p0562c12日和尚說箇甚麼?」師云:「諦聽,諦聽。」進云:「箇中端的意,J40nB494_p0562c13能有幾人知?」師云:「且道說著一字?不曾說著一字?」進J40nB494_p0562c14云:「鴛鴦繡出從師看,不把金針度與人。」進語稍遲,師J40nB494_p0562c15云:「已遲八刻。」乃云:「一葉扁舟泛渺茫,呈橈舞棹別宮J40nB494_p0562c16商,山僧打從邗水來,不待薄暮望東皋。早見蓮社庵J40nB494_p0562c17頭香雲靉靆,生公池上花雨紛霏,中有大士各各折J40nB494_p0562c18驕慢幢、披忍辱鎧,齊來大覺院裏助轉雙輪。山僧深J40nB494_p0562c19感法誼,特特伐鼓考鐘,借古聖鼻孔為今賢出氣。夫J40nB494_p0562c20結蓮社修心者,遠公也;對頑石說法者,生公也。二公J40nB494_p0562c21當年闡教,各各以惟心惟性為宗。大覺要問諸仁:且J40nB494_p0562c22道心作麼生闡?性作麼生示?若形文彩即屬染污,況J40nB494_p0562c23以理致名相取巧安排?我知去此道太遠也。不見碧J40nB494_p0562c24眼胡僧泛鯨濤、涉重溟,一踏斯土便云:『直指人心,見J40nB494_p0562c25性成佛。』遂將此八箇字為度人張本,直逼得斷臂老J40nB494_p0562c26子于覓心了不可得處,方始迷逢達磨上智哉。後來J40nB494_p0562c27演公為天下宗師,直以說心說性為惡口,看他祖祖J40nB494_p0562c28孫孫何曾有絲毫實法與人?二公若在,聞之必然大J40nB494_p0562c29笑曰:『長老已籍沒我家私了也,更來討從上契券。』」遂J40nB494_p0562c30揮拂子顧左右云:「相逢已有知音知,何必清風動寰J40nB494_p0563a01宇?」便下座。
J40nB494_p0563a02菖蒲庵恒濟上座領眾道友請上堂。僧問:「簷前雨滴,J40nB494_p0563a03分明歷歷,打破乾坤,當下心息,未審古人悟箇甚麼?」J40nB494_p0563a04師云:「春雨一滴滑如油。」進云:「恁麼則無邊剎海自他J40nB494_p0563a05不隔於毫端,十世古今始終不離于當念。」師云:「且道J40nB494_p0563a06三草二木發生也未?」進云:「大眾證明。」師云:「且過一邊。」J40nB494_p0563a07問:「天地同根,萬物一體,因甚麼驢頭不對馬嘴?」師云:J40nB494_p0563a08「是你杜撰見解。」進云:「統三界以為家,作四生之依怙,J40nB494_p0563a09忽然三界焚燒,向甚麼處安身立命?」師云:「向上座頂J40nB494_p0563a10門上安身立命。」進云:「擊碎驪龍明月珠,敲出鳳凰五J40nB494_p0563a11色髓。」師云:「未在。」問:「大事未明如喪考妣,大事已明亦J40nB494_p0563a12如喪考妣,未審和尚如何指示?」師云:「吾嘗於此切。」進J40nB494_p0563a13云:「龍袖拂開全體現,象王行處絕狐蹤。」師云:「莫是上J40nB494_p0563a14座見處麼?」僧便喝,師云:「好喝,再喝看。」僧無語,師云:「只J40nB494_p0563a15有先鋒,且無殿後。」乃云:「一口吞盡三世諸佛底雖飽J40nB494_p0563a16無力,一氣轉出一大藏教底堪作甚麼?要得機機挾J40nB494_p0563a17妙,語語通途,苟非捏聚今世威音作一道而行,那能J40nB494_p0563a18合眾德為一德、合眾心為一心?所以,此事如布長蛇J40nB494_p0563a19陣相似,擊首尾應、擊尾首應,方於唱教門中有些些J40nB494_p0563a20光彩;其或句滯則嶽立摩空,源迷則雲橫遍野,斯蓋J40nB494_p0563a21學處不玄,閨閣中物捨不得終成滲漏。諸仁盡是遶J40nB494_p0563a22四天下行腳者,各各具有一雙烏律律底眼睛,且道J40nB494_p0563a23破羅籠、碎窠臼畢竟是甚麼人方有如是作略?」良久,J40nB494_p0563a24云:「不逢錯節盤根處,怎見補天煉石心?」便下座。
J40nB494_p0563a25傳宗禪人領掘港慈悅尼禪士請上堂。「一笑契拈花J40nB494_p0563a26之機,迦葉開眼著賊;三拳償喫棒之旨,臨濟平地喫J40nB494_p0563a27交。大丈夫秉慧劍,般若鋒兮金剛焰。廣陵管內敢有J40nB494_p0563a28一人向前吐一吐氣,不得為宗門手腳,誰云大唐國J40nB494_p0563a29裏無禪師哉?今日寡固不可以敵眾、弱固不可以敵J40nB494_p0563a30強,不妨按下雲頭,與諸仁平實相見。」驀拈拄杖卓一J40nB494_p0563b01下,云:「即此便是解脫場、是真實相,與凡聖為依,作眾J40nB494_p0563b02法之本。善平等機者,不消到末山見主人半面,定知J40nB494_p0563b03非男女相。不然,枯木巖前差路多,莫謂山僧不曾道J40nB494_p0563b04破好。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0563b05生公、蓮社二大士復領眾信請上堂。問:「聞得和尚上J40nB494_p0563b06堂打點問頭不及,來到曲彔床前一句總不記得,請J40nB494_p0563b07和尚荅話。」師云:「大好一問。」僧便拂袖歸眾,師云:「因甚J40nB494_p0563b08進語不來?」進云:「何不領話?」師打,云:「猶虧一半。」問:「三日J40nB494_p0563b09前、三日後,臨濟眼裏有筋;已過關、未過關,黃龍舌頭J40nB494_p0563b10無骨。於見不及處請師一接。」師便打,進云:「固知棒下J40nB494_p0563b11全提旨,怎柰臨機不讓師?」師云:「且喜今日打著一箇。」J40nB494_p0563b12進云:「若然,則掀倒禪床去也。」師云:「你試下手看。」進云:J40nB494_p0563b13「且放過一著。」師又打,僧出呈坐具,云:「惟此一事實,餘J40nB494_p0563b14二則非真。非真即不問,如何是此一事?」師豎拂子,云:J40nB494_p0563b15「我恁麼早是二事也。」進云:「千年桃核裏,原是舊時仁。」J40nB494_p0563b16師云:「十萬八千未是遠。」進云:「出頭天外看,誰是我般J40nB494_p0563b17人?」師云:「鼓粥飯氣。」進云:「自有傍觀者。」師便打。問:「德山J40nB494_p0563b18棒、臨濟喝,去此二途,請師別道。」師云:「沒者閒家具。」進J40nB494_p0563b19云:「情知老漢慣用此機。」師云:「今日被侍者勘破。」僧禮J40nB494_p0563b20拜,云:「某甲罪過。」師便打。問:「大覺堂開重施展,曲唱無J40nB494_p0563b21私不二機。如何是不二機?」師豎拂子云:「且道是一是J40nB494_p0563b22二?」進云:「莫瞞昧人好。」師連棒打出,乃舉:「昔日臨濟會J40nB494_p0563b23下有同參二上座相問云:『離卻中下二機,請兄道一J40nB494_p0563b24句子。』一云:『擬問則失。』一云:『與麼則禮拜老兄去也。』一J40nB494_p0563b25云:『者賊。』臨濟聞之,陞座云:『要會臨濟賓主句,問取堂J40nB494_p0563b26中二禪客。』」師云:「看這兩箇偷心不除底漢,恁麼相見,J40nB494_p0563b27指望要光揚先德、啟迪後昆,大似螢火爇須彌山,終J40nB494_p0563b28不能得。夫沙門者,具三千威儀、八萬細行,苟進退不J40nB494_p0563b29以其禮,烏足以登大雅之堂?看他二人始則以欺、終J40nB494_p0563b30則以詐,一味詭道交兵,為臨濟者不能輔之以正、反J40nB494_p0563c01文之以美,名曰會賓主句,老漢肘臂終不外曲也。爭J40nB494_p0563c02如大覺二同學今日相見,彼既無問、此亦無荅,雖無J40nB494_p0563c03問無荅而目擊道存矣。如是,豈不超出臨濟當時一J40nB494_p0563c04頭地哉?伶俐禪和若能辨得,許伊與他同參。且道參J40nB494_p0563c05甚麼人?」遂大喝一喝,下座。
J40nB494_p0563c06一木禪人領泰山、海月、中禪、廣福、地藏五寺耆宿請J40nB494_p0563c07上堂。「參玄上士若以一知一解而為極則,天下宗師J40nB494_p0563c08未必盡是尸位素餐者。據說:佛具正遍知、善逝、世間J40nB494_p0563c09解,一等是箇知解。且道:與諸上座是同?是別?若道是J40nB494_p0563c10同,佛具三十二相、八十種好,諸人曾具幾種相好來?J40nB494_p0563c11若道是別,佛云:『一切眾生具有如來智慧德相。』金口J40nB494_p0563c12所宣,不可盡成虛誕。有通得此難者,山僧捏須彌盧J40nB494_p0563c13作枚餬餅,普請諸山碩德共作一筵,為汝助喜。任是J40nB494_p0563c14深沙神努眼、舜若多攢眉,只賞他箇熱不睬,更有甚J40nB494_p0563c15登泰山小天下者,而不雲山海月都拋卻?所以,古人J40nB494_p0563c16云:『若少一法,不名滿足菩提。』且作麼生道得一句中J40nB494_p0563c17大覺之禪、廣檀那之福去?」驀豎拂子,云:「地藏菩薩來J40nB494_p0563c18也。若不得他明珠一晃,你者一隊瞌睡漢春夢幾時J40nB494_p0563c19醒?」便下座。
J40nB494_p0563c20晚參。師落堂云:「有疑出問。」良久,無人出,復云:「禪和怕J40nB494_p0563c21底出問,令我一場氣悶。若教據令而行,一人好與一J40nB494_p0563c22頓。」遂以竹篦旋風打散。
J40nB494_p0563c23石港場西賓上座同元良章居士請上堂。僧問:「新蛙J40nB494_p0563c24聲似鼓,幽鳥語如簧,祗如不落五音一曲,請師唱出。」J40nB494_p0563c25師便喝,進云:「一句曲含千古韻,萬重雲散月來初。」師J40nB494_p0563c26云:「幾箇是知音?」進云:「北斗藏身雖有語,出群消息許J40nB494_p0563c27誰聞?」師云:「上座不妨試通看。」僧便喝,師云:「落在山僧J40nB494_p0563c28圈繢裏。」乃云:「塵劫來段不思議事,昭昭然只在目前,J40nB494_p0563c29應眼時似千日舒光,應耳時如千雷震響。大丈夫兒J40nB494_p0563c30本分手腳,若解與麼,踢翻大海、拳倒須彌也不為分J40nB494_p0564a01外;不解與麼,未免俯首低眉,受他繩床上老榾檛底J40nB494_p0564a02處分。座中有箇不孤行腳眼底,鼓起精神向桃花浪J40nB494_p0564a03裏一躍而去,傍觀者自然喝采,尚肯曝腮。龍門即今J40nB494_p0564a04還有如是人麼?若有,山僧不妨以風雷相助。」遂大喝J40nB494_p0564a05一喝,下座。
J40nB494_p0564a06西方靈和尚率監院默惺、默隱暨洪樸庵護法請上J40nB494_p0564a07堂。問:「葉落歸根,千樹桃花呈舊面;兄呼弟應,剎竿倒J40nB494_p0564a08卻又重扶。應時及節,請師一句。」師云:「不可謂伊不曾J40nB494_p0564a09見先師來。」進云:「三春果滿菩提樹,一夜花開世界香。」J40nB494_p0564a10師云:「伯氏吹壎,仲氏吹箎,又作麼生?」進云:「大眾側耳。」J40nB494_p0564a11師云:「且道是五音?是六律?」僧便喝,師云:「太煞唐突。」舉:J40nB494_p0564a12「昔日阿難問迦葉曰:『師兄!世尊傳金襴袈裟外,別傳J40nB494_p0564a13箇甚麼?』迦葉召阿難,阿難應諾,迦葉云:『倒卻門前剎J40nB494_p0564a14竿著。』」乃云:「本固者枝必茂,源深者流必長。看他從佛J40nB494_p0564a15口生、從法化生底,尚不能壎箎合奏、琴瑟均調,其於J40nB494_p0564a16雁行伯仲之間生疏極矣。只緣起初一腳不曾到底,J40nB494_p0564a17為閨閣中軟煖絆著,若不得迦葉師兄頂門眼正、肘J40nB494_p0564a18後符靈,那能褫嫁時衣於當下?古稱此事如貓能歃J40nB494_p0564a19血、虎善起屍,不其然耶?靈章法弟深諳此意,茲者念J40nB494_p0564a20疇昔之好,特特一葦東來,請陞此座。然既是家裏人,J40nB494_p0564a21大覺不合以客氣相待。諸人要知金襴外別傳箇一J40nB494_p0564a22件事麼?早被西方和尚一肩擔荷了也。且道門前剎J40nB494_p0564a23竿還是扶起好?放倒好?要別端倪,不妨就明眼人前J40nB494_p0564a24決擇。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0564a25說沙彌戒日,范簡夫公和二護法請上堂。問:「戒堅心J40nB494_p0564a26月圓,此是初學分上事,秪如出格衲僧合作麼生行J40nB494_p0564a27履?」師云:「撲破缽盂來相見。」問:「古人云:『五戒不持,人天J40nB494_p0564a28路絕。』忽有箇遇佛殺佛、遇祖殺祖底,和尚作麼生相J40nB494_p0564a29待?」師云:「只恐你下不得這副手。」進云:「人天眾前且放J40nB494_p0564a30過一著。」師打,云:「我者裏放不過。」乃云:「積行菩薩要得J40nB494_p0564b01理事俱圓、福慧兼備,若不踏著自己本有田地,那能J40nB494_p0564b02披忍辱鎧、坐法空座,以不懈怠心而為四眾說法?諸J40nB494_p0564b03人要識本有田地麼?」拈拄杖卓一下,云:「恒沙諸佛、天J40nB494_p0564b04下祖師莫不皆向這裏轉大法輪,彈指則珠迴玉轉、J40nB494_p0564b05聲咳則電掣雷轟,那待手摩日月、背負乾坤而後稱J40nB494_p0564b06功德法財方乃成就?所以,南岳讓祖云:『一切萬法皆J40nB494_p0564b07從心生,心無所生,法無能住,若達心地,所作無礙。』茲J40nB494_p0564b08值大覺說戒之日,且作麼生說箇無礙底道理?記得J40nB494_p0564b09契經云:『清淨持淨戒,猶如護明珠。』會此,許你入佛無J40nB494_p0564b10礙。又,祖師云:『缽盂裏撒尿,淨瓶裏吐唾。』會此,許你入J40nB494_p0564b11魔無礙。了得此二種無礙,是則名為真入佛位之子。J40nB494_p0564b12山僧恁麼舉揚,你現前兩行兄弟還肯不肯?」良久,云:J40nB494_p0564b13「我孤你猶可,你負我太煞。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0564b14栟茶場楊森之爾常仝母施太君請上堂。問:「雲起雷J40nB494_p0564b15興,文殊、普賢境界;天開日朗,釋迦、彌勒家風。雲起雷J40nB494_p0564b16興即不問,天開日朗事如何?」師云:「大家瞻仰有分。」進J40nB494_p0564b17云:「恁麼是法住法位,世間相常住去也。」師云:「因甚三J40nB494_p0564b18門走入佛殿裏?」僧便喝,師云:「好好問你,惡發作麼?」進J40nB494_p0564b19云:「或遇雷興雲起又作麼生?」師便喝,進云:「作家宗師,J40nB494_p0564b20天然有在。」師云:「未是好心。」問:「棒下無情,慣把死蛇活J40nB494_p0564b21美;喝中有眼,常將獰虎生擒。未審是神通?是法爾?」師J40nB494_p0564b22云:「山僧不打這鼓笛。」進云:「手執夜明符,幾箇知天曉?」J40nB494_p0564b23師云:「瞞得大眾眼麼?」進云:「千峰勢到嶽邊止,萬派聲J40nB494_p0564b24歸海上消。」師云:「與今日事沒交涉。」乃云:「赤肉團上日J40nB494_p0564b25炤天臨,畢竟聖從何來?靈從何起?參玄上士便與麼J40nB494_p0564b26休去、歇去,長連床上一任高枕無憂。可笑臨濟箇漢J40nB494_p0564b27道箇無位真人,已是撒沙向人眼裏了也。懵懂底不J40nB494_p0564b28辨端倪,猶向面門上尋他出入底蹤跡,何異鳳縈金J40nB494_p0564b29網、龜負靈圖?然不是箇親從龍華見過彌勒來底,那J40nB494_p0564b30能別淆訛、識休咎於大覺場中?所以道:佛是無依人,J40nB494_p0564c01法是無依理。若識無依,是諸聖之母。便恁麼休去,將J40nB494_p0564c02謂山僧無合煞,不妨於祖翁原本契書上打上箇花J40nB494_p0564c03押。汝諸人莫謂普通年遠事,不從蔥嶺帶將來好。」便J40nB494_p0564c04下座。士曾預天寧龍華會來。
J40nB494_p0564c05宮通颺、劉爾玉二居士等請上堂。問:「登山入水猶是J40nB494_p0564c06途路邊事,且道堂奧中一句分付阿誰?」師云:「近前來J40nB494_p0564c07向汝道。」進云:「與麼則寒松一色千年別,野老拈花萬J40nB494_p0564c08國春。」師云:「莫將境話來對。」進云:「某甲怎敢把境話來?」J40nB494_p0564c09師云:「瞞大眾眼得麼?」僧無語,師云:「草賊大敗。」問:「雨過J40nB494_p0564c10山山平點翠,風來樹樹盡生春,且道無陰陽地發生J40nB494_p0564c11箇甚麼?」師云:「金鋤不動土,靈苗當處生。」進云:「可謂一J40nB494_p0564c12雨普潤,萬物咸新。」師云:「你不妨會得好。」問:「春雨一滴J40nB494_p0564c13滑如油,曹溪路上還許穿草鞋行腳也無?」師云:「昨日J40nB494_p0564c14有人躂倒了也。」僧進語稍遲,師打云:「又是第二箇。」乃J40nB494_p0564c15云:「春風如刀,春雨如膏,眼見三草二木十分榮茂,且J40nB494_p0564c16道拄杖子抽得枝條多少?明眼漢能依實供通得來,J40nB494_p0564c17任是三身、四智、五眼、六通,不待從曹溪印子上打來,J40nB494_p0564c18一一知他落處,更說甚日月傍照三天下、正炤四天J40nB494_p0564c19下?直饒你炤遍三千大千世界不遺毫髮,忽遇箇有J40nB494_p0564c20力作者,一拳拳倒無量無數須彌山、一踢踢翻無量J40nB494_p0564c21無數香水海,看你又炤箇甚麼?」驀拈拄杖畫一畫,云:J40nB494_p0564c22「住!住!豈不聞古人云:『峻機不假鋒鋩,大用全貴平實。』J40nB494_p0564c23你擬將有限身心向無限中用,大似無邊身菩薩以J40nB494_p0564c24竹杖量世尊頂,縱經塵劫亦不能盡。眾中設有超宗J40nB494_p0564c25異目者,山僧燒旃檀香供養你;有齊眉共躅者,燒沉J40nB494_p0564c26水香供養你;有影響音聞不入眾數者,不待掌缽盂J40nB494_p0564c27去,香積世界自有現在檀越炊香飯供養你。或有箇J40nB494_p0564c28多事禪和出來道:『大小天寧,皂白不分。』只向他道:『是J40nB494_p0564c29你根莖有異,又怎怪得山僧?』」下座。
J40nB494_p0564c30石港場青谷侍者領母文喜尼上座暨張檀越請上J40nB494_p0565a01堂。問:「古人一千七百則陳爛葛藤,拈向一邊覿面真J40nB494_p0565a02機,請師速道。」師云:「天晴日頭出。」僧便喝,師云:「要且沒J40nB494_p0565a03交涉。」乃云:「毘盧頂上有條通天大路,諸人能高踏而J40nB494_p0565a04行,一任長揖釋迦、不拜彌勒也不為分外。可笑黃面J40nB494_p0565a05老子談經三百餘會,度無量無數茄子、瓠子,究竟無J40nB494_p0565a06濟實事,又怎怪我不嘆宗風衰下、人根惟卑劣是趨。J40nB494_p0565a07據實而論,古人聞佛聞法似生冤家,今人聞佛聞法J40nB494_p0565a08如親父母,如親父母底纏綿寶惜,似生冤家底解脫J40nB494_p0565a09金塵。要得脫然無累,不如大家一齊休去好。且道繼J40nB494_p0565a10祖傳燈又藉甚麼人?」良久,云:「且喜今年蚕麥熟,羅睺J40nB494_p0565a11羅兒與一文。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0565a12潤生上座莊嚴先師瑞峰老宿請上堂。「曹溪受黃梅J40nB494_p0565a13缽袋,雪屈無由;臨濟燒黃檗禪板,報恩有分。生事之J40nB494_p0565a14以禮,昔日已聞命矣;死葬之以禮,今朝寧無述焉?」乃J40nB494_p0565a15喝一喝,云:「『生也不道,死也不道。』道吾昔日與麼,性命J40nB494_p0565a16已落人手裏。可惜漸源尚爾沉吟,直待荒草深村驀J40nB494_p0565a17地知歸,方始肩鍬覓先師靈骨。呵呵!何異喪車後懸J40nB494_p0565a18藥袋也?今日潤生上座盡追遠之誠,深念乃師瑞峰J40nB494_p0565a19老宿平生以真實心行真實行,特請陞此座,冀為顯J40nB494_p0565a20揚。聞得宿生前虔事觀音,無數清淨寶目藉他成就、J40nB494_p0565a21無數母陀羅臂藉他莊嚴,如是則能救世苦底妙智J40nB494_p0565a22力皆伊一身具足。而今捨識之後,形山雖壞,願海猶J40nB494_p0565a23深,且道老宿即今一靈何在?」良久,云:「分付知事,靈床J40nB494_p0565a24前更上一分飯著。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0565a25說比丘戒日,位焉法姪孫領於光沈檀越請上堂。問:J40nB494_p0565a26「戒珠一晃陰霾盡,萬里青天杲日紅。為復是神通妙J40nB494_p0565a27用?是法爾如然?」師云:「高沙彌証明。」進云:「謝師拈出無J40nB494_p0565a28私句,千古為人作指南。」師云:「照顧黑漆缽盂著。」進云:J40nB494_p0565a29「或遇風馳雲捲底又作麼生?」師云:「驅烏也未許你在。」J40nB494_p0565a30進云:「大眾記取這一轉。」師云:「鈍置殺人。」問:「佛性戒珠J40nB494_p0565b01心地印,霧露雲霞體上衣。霧露雲霞即且止,如何是J40nB494_p0565b02心地印?」師云:「雨過苔痕綠。」進云:「與麼則森羅及萬象,J40nB494_p0565b03總在鏡中圓。」師云:「風翻麥浪青。」進云:「謝師荅話。」師云:J40nB494_p0565b04「七棒對十三。」乃云:「法是無為法,理是無為理,取巧安J40nB494_p0565b05排者實為沉屈。即今還有嫌佛不作底漢子麼?分付J40nB494_p0565b06維那上板頭安排著。若是圓成三聚底,且居門外;舉J40nB494_p0565b07檢七非底,未許登堂。何以故?不見先聖云:『我從空王J40nB494_p0565b08佛所發心以來,覓罪性如芥子許了不可得,又何須J40nB494_p0565b09好肉剜瘡?』所以高沙彌聞說受戒,便掩耳而去。衲子J40nB494_p0565b10俊哉!老胡有望也。然則和尚、阿闍黎、壇場三羯磨皆J40nB494_p0565b11不足重耶?」驀喝一喝,云:「若向這裏透過,說高踏毘盧J40nB494_p0565b12頂、不稟釋迦文也由你,說大象不遊兔徑、大智不拘J40nB494_p0565b13小節亦由你,其或語留觀聽、機昧始終、有病不服藥J40nB494_p0565b14者是痴人,速煩作範闍黎與我一時生按過。」
J40nB494_p0565b15馮起元、丘華生二居士同請上堂。「釋迦說善法以化J40nB494_p0565b16眾生,一大藏教都成剩語;祖師說惡法以煆菩薩,千J40nB494_p0565b17七百則盡是閒談。」遂以拂子畫一畫,云:「恁麼也不得,J40nB494_p0565b18不恁麼也不得,恁麼、不恁麼總不得,直下坐斷千差、J40nB494_p0565b19不立萬有,無端撒沙向人眼裏,殺人可恕、情理難容。J40nB494_p0565b20故祖師云:『功德天、黑暗女、有智主人二俱不受。』方顯J40nB494_p0565b21大丈夫兒些子天然氣概。便恁麼去,曹溪路上不著J40nB494_p0565b22俗談,梁皇殿前豈存聖諦?且畢竟如何是他本來面J40nB494_p0565b23目?」良久,云:「缽盂口向天,袈裟角覆地,分付諸禪流,但J40nB494_p0565b24請恁麼會。」便下座。
J40nB494_p0565b25盧園先音上座領金剛會孫茂生、章振世、陸嵩一眾J40nB494_p0565b26居士請上堂。舉:「趙州和尚問新到僧:『曾到此間麼?』僧J40nB494_p0565b27云:『曾到。』州云:『喫茶去。』又問僧:『曾到此間麼?』僧云:『不曾J40nB494_p0565b28到。』州云:『喫茶去。』後院主問云:『為甚麼曾到也教喫茶J40nB494_p0565b29去?不曾到也教喫茶去?』州召院主,主應諾,州云:『你也J40nB494_p0565b30喫茶去。』」師云:「百二十歲底老趙州,當門秪有一箇齒,J40nB494_p0565c01等閒施一機,孤危不立;道一句,平實猶存。任他臨濟、J40nB494_p0565c02德山痛棒熱喝,難與並駕爭驅,但禮從先進,苟非處J40nB494_p0565c03置得宜,何以模範後學?看他汎愛不遺,一味以常住J40nB494_p0565c04物當人情,知他是好心?不是好心?後來應庵華祖云:J40nB494_p0565c05『趙州喫茶,我也怕他不是債主,定是冤家。』阿㖿㖿!若J40nB494_p0565c06總與麼,善法堂前、寶王座上觸目盡為畏途。今日山J40nB494_p0565c07僧要移風易俗,凡有來者,不問他到與不到……」驀拈拄J40nB494_p0565c08杖云:「只將這分供養各與一頓。如是,不惟慧珠奮彩、J40nB494_p0565c09棒下成龍,即病狂失心者亦得安樂度日。諸仁能諦J40nB494_p0565c10信不疑,始知我臨濟之道出常情。」復卓拄杖三下,便J40nB494_p0565c11下座。內有一居士祈懺病。
J40nB494_p0565c12佛誕日,解制,退院,上堂。問:「全收全放,衲僧正令高提;J40nB494_p0565c13半合半開,佛祖家風大振。途中保任,伏聽慈音。」師云:J40nB494_p0565c14「緊峭草鞋。」進云:「可謂風從虎起,雲逐龍生。」師云:「甚深J40nB494_p0565c15意氣。」進云:「腳跟下如何得不涉泥水?」師云:「猶費踟躕J40nB494_p0565c16在。」進云:「若然,則緊峭草鞋添意氣,不教赤腳上揚州。」J40nB494_p0565c17師云:「珍重闍黎。」乃云:「九十日以前結卻布袋口,任是J40nB494_p0565c18天上下獨尊底也知無出頭分,事不獲已,只得放一J40nB494_p0565c19線道:爾既草鞋似虎,我亦拄杖如龍,住則共汝住、行J40nB494_p0565c20則共汝行,一任喚這裏作化城亦可、喚作寶所亦可。J40nB494_p0565c21如是,豈不塵塵剎剎皆為一大安樂覺場?到這裏,更J40nB494_p0565c22說甚今日降生底?周行七步,踏翻方外乾坤;目顧四J40nB494_p0565c23方,覷破寰中日月。正眼觀來,也只當小兒子戲。若是J40nB494_p0565c24屋裏人,更不消打如許之遶。何以故?咫尺家山罷問J40nB494_p0565c25程。」下座。
J40nB494_p0565c26說戒日,默省上座領洪樸庵護法請上堂。問:「古德云:J40nB494_p0565c27『護生須是殺,殺盡始安居。』而今鑄钁銷鋒,還作得金J40nB494_p0565c28剛寶劍否?」師云:「做出便見。」進云:「某甲今日小出大遇。」J40nB494_p0565c29師云:「遇底事作麼生?」僧作退身勢,師云:「要且未契山J40nB494_p0565c30僧意在。」僧顧眾,云:「少頃,食堂中和尚前另下一分。」師J40nB494_p0566a01打,云:「說甚少停,即今便與。」問:「古人放下屠刀,立地成J40nB494_p0566a02佛,且道承甚麼人恩力?」師云:「自家肚皮自家畫。」進云:J40nB494_p0566a03「若然,則天上有星皆拱北,人間無水不朝東。」師云:「遠J40nB494_p0566a04之遠矣。」乃云:「教中道:『一切眾生身中具有三大,謂體J40nB494_p0566a05大、相大、用大。』夫大者,對小而言,一有小大,便落數量,J40nB494_p0566a06殊非如來大士創教之意也。須知大覺這裏則不然,J40nB494_p0566a07任你體大、相大、用大……」驀拈拄杖,云:「要且總不出這箇J40nB494_p0566a08大。諸仁能體得、相得、用得,從此長養人天、亭毒佛祖J40nB494_p0566a09尚不為難事,更有甚大沙彌、大比丘、大菩薩而不從J40nB494_p0566a10這裏流出?所以道:化育之本,物我同源。冀諸大德各J40nB494_p0566a11各發四無量心,廣大其用,將來續慧命、繼源流,吾將J40nB494_p0566a12斫額望之。秪如今朝大檀越入山辦供,且道彼大何J40nB494_p0566a13如此大?」良久,云:「洎合錯下注腳。」下座。
J40nB494_p0566a14師到安豐場,普濟自牧闍黎同本場眾護法、諸山眾J40nB494_p0566a15耆宿請於本庵上堂。問:「提大覺之旨,開普濟之門,緇J40nB494_p0566a16素雲臻,請垂法要。」師云:「佛日正中天。」進云:「可謂轉凡J40nB494_p0566a17成聖,不隔毫端。」師云:「法輪常匝地。」進云:「格外機籌,畢J40nB494_p0566a18竟以何為驗?」師云:「這裏是普濟群生之所。」進云:「如是J40nB494_p0566a19則於今且假乘風棹,咫尺家山不問津。」師云:「猶涉程J40nB494_p0566a20途在。」僧拜起一喝,師云:「終欠一籌。」乃拈拄杖卓一下,J40nB494_p0566a21云:「此是從上諸聖普濟群生之所,不須寶筏濟河,箇J40nB494_p0566a22箇已登覺岸,何藉浮囊渡海?人人早到家山。家山既J40nB494_p0566a23到,回頭風月常新;覺岸先登,舉眼雲林仍舊。山僧看J40nB494_p0566a24罷東皋春色來遊海甸精藍,蒙現前諸上善人廣敷J40nB494_p0566a25此座,特地殷勤請說法要。因思先德隨時隨地而作J40nB494_p0566a26佛事,有以香飯作佛事者、有以音聲作佛事者、或以J40nB494_p0566a27出入息內承事無量諸佛而作佛事者,這裏既不隨J40nB494_p0566a28他起倒,只有一條山形拄杖。」復拈拄杖,云:「拈起也,天J40nB494_p0566a29迴地轉;放下也,嶽立河清。不拈不放,要令現前若聖、J40nB494_p0566a30若凡、若僧、若俗、若天仙、若人畜以及飛潛動植等各J40nB494_p0566b01悉得受用。得受用已,與從上諸聖同一眼見、同一耳J40nB494_p0566b02聞、同一心知、同一意解、同一手捉、同一足奔。既一切J40nB494_p0566b03皆同,則從上諸聖即是諸人,更有何優劣彼此哉?今J40nB494_p0566b04日山僧兩手持來,且道誰是承當者?」良久,無人出,復J40nB494_p0566b05云:「我不敢輕汝,汝等皆當作佛。」下座。
雨山和尚語錄卷第九終
