立春第二日示眾。「春風一拂融殘雪放出雲山依舊J40nB494_p0583c10澗壑忽添新瀑布茅簷猶掛舊冰稜舉頭天上星J40nB494_p0583c11霜易彈指人間歲月增分付兩堂玄學客急須努力J40nB494_p0583c12繼傳燈。」

解制日付法監院請上堂:「擊碎照夜明珠放出沖J40nB494_p0583c14天俊鶻正當解制一句如何分付?」師云:「切莫亂統。」J40nB494_p0583c15:「會即途中受用不會則世諦流布如何得恰好去?」J40nB494_p0583c16師云:「全靠山僧不得。」進云:「將謂少林消息斷桃花依J40nB494_p0583c17舊笑春風。」師云:「新上座撞彩耳。」進云:「誰知遠煙浪J40nB494_p0583c18有好商量?」師云:「孟八郎又恁麼去。」乃舉:「永嘉證道歌J40nB494_p0583c19:『遊江海涉山川尋師訪道為參禪自從踏著曹溪J40nB494_p0583c20了知生死不相干。』親見寶林來底果然獨超物外J40nB494_p0583c21今日天寧聖制告圓你諸仁擬遊江海耶涉山川耶J40nB494_p0583c22擬訪道耶參禪耶如果踏著天寧路越過生死海J40nB494_p0583c23惟堪繼先宗抑且可規來學不然一句當天八萬門J40nB494_p0583c24依舊情塵固蔽識鎖難開且請按下雲頭山僧與你J40nB494_p0583c25另有商量何以故不見道換骨抽腸重整頓通身手J40nB494_p0583c26眼更須參。」

泰州強崑玉居士發願請僧檢藏三年於啟期日請J40nB494_p0583c28上堂。「一大藏教秪說這箇雲門話墮阿師有甚饅頭J40nB494_p0583c29䭔子快下將來睦州鈍置老漢轉半藏轉全藏休向J40nB494_p0583c30遶一匝處分疏是梵語是唐言須從五千餘卷裏定J40nB494_p0584a01盡謂諸佛燃慧炬以燭幽非關文字那知列祖駕J40nB494_p0584a02慈航而普渡尚假言詮但能於黃卷玉軸上捉敗古J40nB494_p0584a03何難大地山河不全歸自一塵一佛國一葉一J40nB494_p0584a04釋迦則不問汝諸人且淺聞深悟深聞不悟又明甚J40nB494_p0584a05麼邊事?」良久:「一塵不立始歸家纔有纖毫非眷屬J40nB494_p0584a06親切無過演祖此語也久立眾慈伏惟珍重。」

端午日師付法兩序請上堂北來和尚問:「兄呼弟應J40nB494_p0584a08上古風規唱拍相隨今時樞要除此二途如何道箇J40nB494_p0584a09福海無邊的句?」師云:「瞞老兄不得。」進云:「可謂掃除近J40nB494_p0584a10日門頭事直透威音那畔機。」師云:「不信道。」進云:「幾多J40nB494_p0584a11龍象隨高步無限香花結勝因。」師云:「笑殺靈山老漢。」J40nB494_p0584a12進云:「金圈栗棘齊拈出荷擔堂前有後人師云總從J40nB494_p0584a13他腳下流出進云好彩不妨多。」師云:「非兄不委。」乃云J40nB494_p0584a14端陽令節百草頭邊大用繁興有向者裏道得箇應J40nB494_p0584a15時及節底句也省得諸方老榾檛說青道黃塗污方J40nB494_p0584a16設問:『如何是應時及節底句?』便云:『龍舟競彩艾虎J40nB494_p0584a17逞威者是。』又道:『蒲劍揮空榴火奪日者是。』若然盡屬J40nB494_p0584a18世諦流布天寧門下一點也用不著那知善財童子J40nB494_p0584a19當日拈一莖便活盡天下死人苟非入室真子焉知J40nB494_p0584a20這點藥頭靈驗釋尊云:『我此法印為欲利益世間故J40nB494_p0584a21在所游方勿妄宣傳。』諸仁要知不妄宣傳底一著J40nB494_p0584a22子麼?」驀揮拂子:「喚作正法眼藏也得喚作涅槃妙J40nB494_p0584a23心亦得有能一肩擔荷得去不謬為天寧室中一麟J40nB494_p0584a24誰道法身慧命不源遠流長哉久立眾慈伏惟珍J40nB494_p0584a25。」

上堂:「三不是是箇甚麼?」師云:「劈腹剜心。」:「如何是J40nB494_p0584a27本來面目?」師作掩耳勢:「莫污我耳。」:「如何是本來J40nB494_p0584a28面目?」師云:「適纔他污我耳如今你污你口。」僧罔措J40nB494_p0584a29:「三日不清。」:「德山托缽意旨如何?」師云:「年老成J40nB494_p0584a30。」:「萬法歸一一歸何處?」師云:「甲乙丙丁庚辛。」J40nB494_p0584b01:「如何是有句?」師卓拄杖一下。「如何是無句?」師云:「J40nB494_p0584b02作拄杖即錯。」「如何是如藤倚樹?」師云:「杜撰長老如麻J40nB494_p0584b03似粟。」「樹倒藤枯句歸何處?」師云:「獅子咬人韓盧逐塊。」J40nB494_p0584b04溈山呵呵大笑歸方丈又作麼生?」師云:「禹力不到處J40nB494_p0584b05河聲流向西。」僧便喝師云:「虛彰聲勢。」:「雪峰示眾云J40nB494_p0584b06若論此事如明鏡當臺胡來胡現漢來漢現。』玄沙出J40nB494_p0584b07眾云:『忽遇明鏡來時如何?』峰云:『胡漢俱隱。』沙云:『者老J40nB494_p0584b08漢腳跟未點地在。』峰休去。」乃云:「雪峰老不以筋骨為J40nB494_p0584b09縱饒玄沙逞俊也出他範圍不得諸人若作勝負J40nB494_p0584b10商量未免深屈古人且道利害在甚麼處?」良久:「J40nB494_p0584b11語傷人千刀攪腹。」

晚參師垂問云:「達磨西來直指人心見性成佛因甚J40nB494_p0584b22演祖又道說心說性便是惡口?」一云:「但形文彩即屬J40nB494_p0584b23染污。」師云:「祖師猶在。」進云:「一千五百人善知識話頭J40nB494_p0584b24也不識。」師云:「人天眾前不可造次。」一云:「纔有一絲頭J40nB494_p0584b25便是一絲頭。」師云:「大似徐六擔板。」一云:「不得春風花J40nB494_p0584b26不開花開又被風吹落。」師云:「肯諾不得全。」一云:「金屑J40nB494_p0584b27雖貴落眼成翳。」師云:「恁麼則達磨有過也。」進云:「卻是。」J40nB494_p0584b28師云:「莫謗他好。」一云:「好事不如無。」師云:「說到不若行J40nB494_p0584b29。」一云:「王令稍嚴不許攙奪行市。」師笑云:「鄭州出曹J40nB494_p0584b30。」

晚參:「昔臨濟大師將涅槃時示眾云:『吾滅度後J40nB494_p0584c02得滅卻吾正法眼藏。』時三聖出眾云:『爭敢滅卻和尚J40nB494_p0584c03正法眼藏?』濟云:『忽有人問汝汝作麼生?』聖便喝濟云J40nB494_p0584c04誰知吾正法眼藏向瞎驢邊滅卻?』」師云:「三聖恁麼祗J40nB494_p0584c05因甚臨濟道正法眼向瞎驢邊滅卻?」一云:「全歸肯J40nB494_p0584c06。」一云:「口是禍門。」一云:「克家須是破家兒。」一云:「獅子J40nB494_p0584c07咬人韓盧逐塊。」一云:「莫寐語。」一云:「若無舉鼎拔山力J40nB494_p0584c08千里烏騅不易騎。」一云:「爛泥裏有刺。」一云:「祖禰不了J40nB494_p0584c09殃及兒孫。」一云:「恩大難酬。」一云:「非但騎虎頭亦解把J40nB494_p0584c10虎尾。」一云:「鉤在不疑之地。」一云:「只見錐頭利不見鑿J40nB494_p0584c11頭方。」乃云:「誰知正法眼藏向瞎驢邊滅卻臨濟大似J40nB494_p0584c12鑊湯無冷處若非入室真子也大難承當諸方盡作J40nB494_p0584c13得失論量實為深屈古人雖然且道臨濟意在甚麼J40nB494_p0584c14?」良久:「天堂未就地獄先成。」

上堂。「善來比丘各依舊處著不用老胡徵汝得處J40nB494_p0584c16箇腳跟點地山僧更有所說何異矢上加尖所以古J40nB494_p0584c17德拈拄杖示眾云:『三世諸佛也恁麼歷代祖師也恁J40nB494_p0584c18天下老和尚亦恁麼。』」師驀喝一喝:「恁麼恁麼J40nB494_p0584c19杖有過忽然𨁝跳上三十三天也免後代兒孫向黑J40nB494_p0584c20山鬼窟裏地坐。」

上堂:「昔雲門大師因普請拈起一橛柴示眾云:『J40nB494_p0584c22大藏教祗說這箇。』」師云:「大小雲門漏逗不少引得無J40nB494_p0584c23限人向這一橛頭上作窠作臼若天寧據令而行J40nB494_p0584c24須趁出三門始得後有老宿別云:『一大藏教不說這J40nB494_p0584c25。』既不說者箇且道又說箇甚麼?」良久卓拄杖一下J40nB494_p0584c26:「須知遠煙浪別有好商量。」

上堂:「昔香嚴和尚上堂云:『若論此事如人上樹J40nB494_p0584c28啣樹枝手不攀枝腳不踏枝樹下忽有人問如何是J40nB494_p0584c29祖師西來意不對他即違他所問若對他又喪身失J40nB494_p0584c30正當恁麼時如何即得?』時有虎頭上座出眾云:『J40nB494_p0585a01樹即不問未上樹前請和尚道。』嚴呵呵大笑。」師云J40nB494_p0585a02香嚴和尚向雲中設磴空裏造橋欲度盡天下死人J40nB494_p0585a03又焉知法久成弊轉令人攀躋不上虎頭上座雖善J40nB494_p0585a04成褫要且秪會自機關不解香嚴活計苟非絕處J40nB494_p0585a05逢生的當場出手那能同道唱和稱妙云獨腳哉J40nB494_p0585a06上座畢竟如何是香嚴活計?」良久:「冷處著把火。」

上堂:「昔日玄沙和尚示眾云:『諸方老宿盡道接物J40nB494_p0585a08利生忽遇三種病人作麼生接患盲者拈椎豎拂他J40nB494_p0585a09不見患聾者語言三昧他不聞患啞者教他說又說J40nB494_p0585a10不出且作麼生接若接此人不得佛法無靈驗。』」乃云J40nB494_p0585a11諸仁者且道三種病人即今在甚麼處?」驀拈拄杖云J40nB494_p0585a12來也來也既來作麼生說箇接的道理?」遂擲下拄杖J40nB494_p0585a13:「點石化為金玉易勸人除卻是非難。」

六月十九日上堂。「觀音菩薩今日向聲塵裏轉大法J40nB494_p0585a15乃說偈曰:『蜀魄連宵叫子規終夜啼圓通門大啟J40nB494_p0585a16何事隔雲泥?』舜若多神聞得向前曰:『盡大地是箇圓J40nB494_p0585a17你也在裏許我也在裏許說甚麼隔與不隔?』菩薩J40nB494_p0585a18被問直得一場懡㦬依舊退身向普陀巖中打坐去J40nB494_p0585a19諸人若識是非一切聲是佛聲其或尚留觀聽J40nB494_p0585a20聲穿破你髑髏莫謂天寧不曾道破好。」

晚參師問僧:「如何是父母未生前本來面目?」僧云:「J40nB494_p0585a22。」乃示以偈曰:「父母未生前有箇本來面黑豆未生J40nB494_p0585a23善財尋不見見不見倒騎牛兮入佛殿。」僧出師問J40nB494_p0585a24:「本來面目你作麼生會?」僧云:「是甚麼破草鞋?」師云J40nB494_p0585a25有時也用得著。」僧云:「有時也用不著。」師云:「恁麼則上J40nB494_p0585a26座赤腳走也。」僧無語師便打

上堂。「今朝六月念有六暑氣尚炎秋未肅無位真人J40nB494_p0585a28白汗流面門出入忘拘束老白拈頻頻囑誰人肯遭J40nB494_p0585a29你瞽惑縱饒證據到十成也須趁向無生國且道因J40nB494_p0585a30甚如此?」良久卓拄杖一下:「家有白澤之圖必無如J40nB494_p0585b01是妖怪。」

晚參:「昔德山和尚示眾云:『山僧今夜不荅話問話J40nB494_p0585b03者三十棒。』天寧則不然山僧今夜要荅話不問話者J40nB494_p0585b04三十棒畏打者出眾相見。」良久眾無出師云:「是你這J40nB494_p0585b05一夥豚皮漢不打更待何時?」遂旋風打散

因病目上堂:「昔密菴傑和尚克應菴華祖侍者J40nB494_p0585b07一日問曰:『如何是正法眼?』傑云:『破砂盆。』」乃云:「傑和尚J40nB494_p0585b08等閒出一語頓使曹山三種滲漏俱絕是則固是J40nB494_p0585b09且令人難搆今日天寧放開一線道與汝諸人相見J40nB494_p0585b10設有問:『如何是正法眼?』但向他道箇:『。』既是正法眼J40nB494_p0585b11因甚卻害不見道未離三界外還在五行中。」

上堂:「昔僧問雲門曰:『秋初夏末前途忽有人問J40nB494_p0585b13學人如何祗對?』門云:『大眾退後。』僧曰:『過在甚麼處?』J40nB494_p0585b14:『還我九十日飯錢來。』」乃云:「雲門老漢抑捺者僧太J40nB494_p0585b15當時若善垂手韶陽路上不致道絕人荒天寧即J40nB494_p0585b16不然或有問:『秋初夏末前途忽有人問如何祗對?』J40nB494_p0585b17向他道:『善為道路。』若是箇知時識節的自然緊峭草J40nB494_p0585b18設或遲疑……」卓拄杖:「莫謂天台路嶮巇羊腸更在J40nB494_p0585b19青霄外。」

晚參師問云:「君子愛財取之有道因甚招寶菩薩手J40nB494_p0585b21中錠子放不下?」一云:「等箇人來。」一云:「專為流通。」一云J40nB494_p0585b22不妨隨分納些些。」師皆不肯眾請師代師云:「分付不J40nB494_p0585b23著人。」

上堂:「昔梵言首座示眾云:『說法有所得為野干鳴J40nB494_p0585b25說法無所得乃獅子吼諸人要識獅子吼麼?』遂大喝J40nB494_p0585b26一喝。」乃云:「語不離窠臼焉能出蓋纏梵言首座之謂J40nB494_p0585b27天寧則不然說法有所得為野干鳴說法無所得J40nB494_p0585b28乃獅子吼諸人要識獅子吼麼?」便卓拄杖歸方丈
