空谷和尚語錄序
J39nB471_p0935a02直指一宗,掃萬除千,即以函天蓋地。既以世諦色聲J39nB471_p0935a03同諸影草,仍能使山河大地森羅目前,蓋誠云言思J39nB471_p0935a04道斷,發覆兩難者矣。爰自初祖獨智開天,直續老迦J39nB471_p0935a05文一笑之慧命立宗,屏絕言詞,至天童老人為極巖,J39nB471_p0935a06亦惟老人為極盛矣。老人十二子,第三子為 破山J39nB471_p0935a07明。明老人得法後,蜀紳士請弘法于蜀。值蜀芝巢之J39nB471_p0935a08後,土漢世裔,兵寇交訌,即和尚道法感人,林巒盡為J39nB471_p0935a09氛障。頃老人以佛圖之望,如狎海鷗;更止殺之權,如J39nB471_p0935a10吐蜆子。是以會下賢聖,若雪臂、若敏樹,人人傳衣缽J39nB471_p0935a11矣。 空和尚為是時上座,其與法席日在轉徙危疑J39nB471_p0935a12間,乃充益炳心燈,益參最上,歷象崖破浪,以至大家J39nB471_p0935a13峒道,成諸方針扎爐韝鉗鎚,而樹和尚正急得人,始J39nB471_p0935a14付衣拂,促令行化矣。原夫和尚自兵劫中,獨以性命J39nB471_p0935a15殉法道,直以神光斷臂之心,俟慧能米槽之熟者。以J39nB471_p0935a16此論行,是為真行;以此論解,是為真解。行解相應,超J39nB471_p0935a17然名之曰祖師有之矣。道法既崇,四眾欽仰, 師逢J39nB471_p0935a18險倍安,逢灰轉熾, 藩鎮宰輔大臣罔不皈忱問道J39nB471_p0935a19者,茲語錄二十餘卷之所繇成也。計荊自寇警以來,J39nB471_p0935a20奉J39nB471_p0935a21簡命以 親藩秉鉞,最先體恤地方,號三佛。特選祇J39nB471_p0935a22園勝地,迎J39nB471_p0935a23和尚開法以正人心,提佛乘以息奸妄。軍民顒仰者,J39nB471_p0935a24咸以爰清爰淨之理,鼓求忠求孝之心;以大慧大慈J39nB471_p0935a25之仁,神大勇大雄之用。果爾,長江之飛渡破竹,勢成J39nB471_p0935a26底定,可立待矣。整旅稍暇,輒思率佛弟子用報J39nB471_p0935a27佛恩,而先梓行師語錄以廣法施,荊士庶踴躍焉。予J39nB471_p0935a28愛而冥參,重師之以直指得了義也。夫祖禪印證,惟J39nB471_p0935a29貴本地風光,以師之正大接人,頭端尾直;以師之圓J39nB471_p0935a30明方便,四照六通。古有床上接、有床下接,苟世不必J39nB471_p0935b01盡上根,正令所提,萬心畢照,有不十智同真也哉?惟J39nB471_p0935b02師與 賢王闡善世牖民之教,而 藩王旋懋安邦J39nB471_p0935b03定國之勳,則惟J39nB471_p0935b04和尚大傳燈指月之法,于以上接天童,而嗣法破山J39nB471_p0935b05老人、樹和尚也,又何異焉?

J39nB471_p0936b04順治十三年乙未三月初一日,眾檀等請住四川成J39nB471_p0936b05都府內江縣三聖寺,於庚子歲十月十五日結制。至J39nB471_p0936b06殿門,舉杖指云:「者門庭,三世諸佛從此入,歷代祖師J39nB471_p0936b07從此出,山僧來到向此住,雖然前後不同,其實難離J39nB471_p0936b08者個。」一卓進殿。佛前,云:「雄雄一老賊,亙古烜威赫,惑J39nB471_p0936b09亂世人心,連我也拖拽,窄路來相逢,不容不恭竭。」展J39nB471_p0936b10具三禮。座前,云:「分明春光一色,平地豐滿奇特,若是J39nB471_p0936b11法爾如然,先將烏藤決策劫前一段真風,不免陞座J39nB471_p0936b12告白。」便陞座。拈香云:「此瓣香,八面玲瓏,無枝無葉,迥J39nB471_p0936b13迥空生,頭頭活徹,信手拈得來,證盟廣長舌,爇向爐J39nB471_p0936b14中,專伸供養萬德至尊釋迦文,靈山一夥顛蹶漢,遺J39nB471_p0936b15場禍害到如今。」次拈香云:「此瓣香,孤明四海,獨曜五J39nB471_p0936b16湖,德燄庇三千,功勳資沙界,爇向爐中,端為祝延今J39nB471_p0936b17上J39nB471_p0936b18皇帝聖躬萬歲萬萬歲,皇后齊年,東宮殿下睿算千秋。」J39nB471_p0936b19再拈香云:「此瓣香,同生樂土,共長乾坤,衍萬代之龍J39nB471_p0936b20孫,成千秋之美玉,爇向爐中,奉為諸J39nB471_p0936b21藩王殿下、滿朝文武、闔國公卿、遠近檀那、護法宰官、J39nB471_p0936b22居士,惟冀鼻端同孔眼,舌廣共撩天。」復拈香云:「此瓣J39nB471_p0936b23香,苦志忘形奮琢成,披星帶露培根固,源頭次第長J39nB471_p0936b24西乾,一花五葉發東土。爇向爐中,專伸供養臨濟正J39nB471_p0936b25傳第三十一世上敏下樹本師和尚,用酬法乳之恩,J39nB471_p0936b26蒙師毒手至今快,痛徹千生不敢忘。」斂衣敷坐。維那J39nB471_p0936b27白椎云:「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」師拈起拄杖云:「若J39nB471_p0936b28道者是第一義,覿面相呈無向背,縱橫殺活見分明,J39nB471_p0936b29知音決勝在今日。者裏有知音者麼?出班與山僧相J39nB471_p0936b30見。」僧問:「父母非我親,誰是至親?」師云:「認真還自在,作J39nB471_p0936c01假費工夫。」進云:「四生是我冤,誰是知音?」師云:「三暑水J39nB471_p0936c02能止渴,九冬火可稱心。」僧問:「祖燈正脈傳三聖,學人J39nB471_p0936c03可見麼?」師云:「大地未收藏。」進云:「令學人向甚處見?」師J39nB471_p0936c04打云:「棒頭落處痛難忍,不孝父母怨玄黃。」問:「截斷眾J39nB471_p0936c05流一句如何道?」師云:「棒喝不順人情。」僧作禮,師云:「又J39nB471_p0936c06成情也。」問:「龍宮燒到三十三天,和尚可救麼?」師云:「可J39nB471_p0936c07救。」進云:「如何救?」師云:「汝燒甚處?」僧展背出,師云:「難救。」J39nB471_p0936c08問:「優曇缽花三千年一開,而今開未?」師云:「枝枝葉上J39nB471_p0936c09現真如。」問:「佛說三大藏,為甚麼未道著一字?」師云:「誠J39nB471_p0936c10實之語。」進云:「說的是?不說的是?」師云:「總是,總不是。」進J39nB471_p0936c11云:「此事又如何?」師打,云:「盡思共度量,不能測佛智。」進J39nB471_p0936c12云:「畢竟是個甚麼?」師復打,云:「惟佛與佛乃能知之。」乃J39nB471_p0936c13云:「不以知知,不以識識,三界有情,心無二覓,動靜施J39nB471_p0936c14為,不借他力,像貌無量,形殊各質,者點造化,凡聖同J39nB471_p0936c15一,千般形類等虛空,萬象森羅共月日。」舉杖示眾,云:J39nB471_p0936c16「者個道理,不屬五行,豈受陰陽?本自圓明,縱橫無礙。J39nB471_p0936c17若向者裏會得,眾生即佛;從此不了,佛即眾生。山僧J39nB471_p0936c18今日門庭不順人情,若會,與三十棒;不會,亦與三十J39nB471_p0936c19棒。」舉:「世尊在忉利天為母說法,優填王思佛,命匠彫J39nB471_p0936c20栴檀像供養,及世尊下忉利天,像亦出外迎,世尊三J39nB471_p0936c21喚三應,乃云:『無為真佛實在我身。』且問大眾:真佛是J39nB471_p0936c22那個身?咄!從頭仔細看,到底沒兩個,三喚即三應,真J39nB471_p0936c23佛還是我。呵呵!栴檀與瞿曇,謾作兩處剖。」
J39nB471_p0936c24上堂。師云:「放開體用雙彰,露出千行萬行,智若馬鳴J39nB471_p0936c25通身口,當頭一句絕思量。還有出得身者麼?出來與J39nB471_p0936c26山僧相見。」問:「善惡不生時如何?」師云:「土木瓦石。」進云:J39nB471_p0936c27「種種心生如何?」師云:「蝦蟆老鼠。」進云:「生與不生俱不J39nB471_p0936c28是,如何纔是?」師云:「山青水綠,家有真佛。」僧作禮,師云:J39nB471_p0936c29「龍躍水頭高,鵬飛千里杳。」問:「不明生死如何?」師云:「情J39nB471_p0936c30繁事障,智大理障,因此不明。」進云:「理事融時如何?」師J39nB471_p0937a01云:「琴堂生瑞草,好事不如無。」問:「一息不還,是個甚麼J39nB471_p0937a02境界?」師云:「虛活活地,乾爆爆地。」進云:「必竟在甚麼處?」J39nB471_p0937a03師云:「東村作牛,西村喫草。」進云:「即今又成個甚麼?」師J39nB471_p0937a04云:「獨角虎,兩翅蛇。」進云:「學人近前得麼?」師云:「窮源絕J39nB471_p0937a05頂轉身易,直至懸崖撒手難。」問:「不立棒喝,以何指示J39nB471_p0937a06後學?」師云:「隨機應酬。」進云:「倘無機緣問答時如何?」師J39nB471_p0937a07云:「喫飽飯,睡死覺。」進云:「坑殺死人。」師云:「天下墮坑入J39nB471_p0937a08塹者廣多,豈肯死卻真正的一個?」進云:「如何是真正J39nB471_p0937a09的人?」師云:「近前來,向汝道。」僧近座,師連打三棒,云:「真J39nB471_p0937a10正的人。」問:「如何是生死?」師云:「枯木中龍吟,古殿裏發J39nB471_p0937a11燄。」進云:「如何是不生不死?」師舉杖示云:「者個是甚麼?」J39nB471_p0937a12進云:「不會。」師云:「正向不會處疑。」進云:「疑情片片不開。」J39nB471_p0937a13師云:「放下著。」僧作禮,求開示,師云:「放下齊放下,勿留J39nB471_p0937a14絲毫挂,喜的一坦平,畏的路途岔。疑情發不起,尚且J39nB471_p0937a15易說話,博古問先知,工夫易融化。久坐沉潭水,切防J39nB471_p0937a16事臨危,知非速便改,佛昔亦如此,慎勿妄捏角,話頭J39nB471_p0937a17平平舉。如人千里還,到家知所止,鍛金不復礦,雪溶J39nB471_p0937a18已成水。水流歸大海,汪洋一片洧,金石治國寶,世間J39nB471_p0937a19更無比。比修禪定人,堂堂一佛子,多少大丈夫,皆同J39nB471_p0937a20者道理。十方三世尊,老君與夫子,打鼓弄琵琶,貫串J39nB471_p0937a21皆一體。自分三教後,各家論性理,頭腦縱千般,理地J39nB471_p0937a22不離此。不明源頭一著,向外問生問死。」舉杖示眾云:J39nB471_p0937a23「會麼?若道者是有生死,埋沒虛空,辜負天理;若道者J39nB471_p0937a24是無生死,玉兔東昇,月沉海底。呵呵!兩箇胡僧一樣J39nB471_p0937a25臉嘴。」舉:「文殊問庵提遮女曰:『生以何為義?』女曰:『生以J39nB471_p0937a26不生生為生義。』殊曰:『如何是生以不生生為生義?』女J39nB471_p0937a27曰:『若能明知地、水、火、風四緣未嘗自得,有所和合,而J39nB471_p0937a28能隨其所宜,是為生義。』殊曰:『死以何為義?』女曰:『死以J39nB471_p0937a29不死死為死義。』殊曰:『如何是死以不死死為死義?』女J39nB471_p0937a30曰:『若能明知地、水、火、風四緣未嘗自得,有所離散,而J39nB471_p0937b01能隨其所宜,是為死義。』庵提遮女問文殊曰:『明知生J39nB471_p0937b02死是不生之理,為何卻被生死之所流轉?』殊曰:『其力J39nB471_p0937b03未充。』在山僧分中則不然,若有問:『明知生死是不生J39nB471_p0937b04之理,為何卻被生死之所流轉?』宜答云:『性空常自在,J39nB471_p0937b05迷雲妄逐流。』不是文殊道不出,只因庵提女知見多,J39nB471_p0937b06所以山僧常教大眾離卻見聞覺知始得。」
J39nB471_p0937b07臘八,上堂。師云:「波濤汎濫月江穩,岣嶁嶮峻日昇高,J39nB471_p0937b08泥蓮河下睹星悟,靈鷲山中風鼓騷。」伸手摸拄杖,云:J39nB471_p0937b09「識麼?世尊登獅子座拈花,山僧座無畏床摘果,且道J39nB471_p0937b10昔日靈山、金朝三聖是同?是別?乃花?乃果?」仍揮拂,云:J39nB471_p0937b11「會麼?靈山老人說法時花開,山僧當機時果熟,向人J39nB471_p0937b12天會中摘來,拋在虛空豎立,當然大家出頭來嘗個J39nB471_p0937b13滋味好。」問:「如何是㘞地一聲?」師云:「跳出金剛圈,不算J39nB471_p0937b14唧溜。」進云:「跳出圈時又作麼生?」師云:「是法住法位,世J39nB471_p0937b15間相常住。」問:「滋味如何嘗?」師云:「只在吞吐間。」進云:「吞J39nB471_p0937b16者如何?」師云:「精脆脆。」進云:「吐者如何?」師云:「寡澀澀。」進J39nB471_p0937b17云:「一吞一吐如何?」師云:「當著不著。」進云:「不吞不吐如J39nB471_p0937b18何?」師云:「全忘不忘。」僧作禮,師云:「莫作道理會。」進云:「作J39nB471_p0937b19甚麼會?」師打,云:「打破虛空碎。」問:「如何是三聖境?」師云:J39nB471_p0937b20「白虎山為藏虎穴,青龍塘作養龍池。」進云:「如何是境J39nB471_p0937b21中人?」師云:「一幅王維畫,千秋香蹟名。」問:「如何是奪境J39nB471_p0937b22不奪人?」師云:「峨眉光燦爛,直射雷洞坪。」進云:「如何是J39nB471_p0937b23奪人不奪境?」師云:「普賢騎象王,下山不見影。」進云:「如J39nB471_p0937b24何是人境兩相奪?」師云:「碧崖獅子吼,玉海龍分合。」進J39nB471_p0937b25云:「如何是人境俱不奪?」師云:「變大地作黃金,攪長河J39nB471_p0937b26為酥酪。」問:「大悲現千手眼,如何是正眼?」師云拄杖畫J39nB471_p0937b27一圓相,云:「覷。」進云:「不會。」師以偈示云:「大悲手眼亂如J39nB471_p0937b28麻,指出虛空那算他?跳過圓圈覓正眼,別生趨向眼J39nB471_p0937b29添沙。」問:「至道無難,誰嫌揀擇?向甚麼處揀擇?」師云:「山J39nB471_p0937b30僧今日拄杖子懶提,話也懶答。」進云:「只是不揀擇。如J39nB471_p0937c01何是揀擇?」師云:「你同甚麼人來?」僧無語。師云:「山僧不J39nB471_p0937c02答不答,曲強要問,等得復他,他又無言。至道是難無J39nB471_p0937c03難?」其僧作哭聲,師呵呵笑,乃云:「是星拱北,是水歸東,J39nB471_p0937c04梅花追春景,梧葉逐秋風。而今正是收藏之際,何須J39nB471_p0937c05曲為拈提?且道拈出個甚麼?」以拄杖一卓,云:「一葉落,J39nB471_p0937c06天下秋;一塵起,大地收。有意氣時添意氣,無風流處J39nB471_p0937c07賣風流。雖然如是,也是照孔著楔,亦是撥出人眼。今J39nB471_p0937c08朝光灼灼,為爾拈出;赤灑灑,現在當然。有眼者見,有J39nB471_p0937c09耳者聞,除此見聞覺知,且道甚麼消息?」一喝,云:「浮雲J39nB471_p0937c10靉靆山色白,野鶴飛來水情清。」下座。
J39nB471_p0937c11上堂。師云:「兩堂雲水客,都是利嘴僧,老僧纔開口,慣J39nB471_p0937c12來釘鬥釘。唯有今朝不許來問話,出來者打殺。」時有J39nB471_p0937c13僧出,師以杖一指,云:「緊顧性命。」其僧退去,師擲下拄J39nB471_p0937c14杖,撫掌呵呵,云:「打退不若嚇退。」下座。
J39nB471_p0937c15一會善姓設齋,請上堂,求開示。師云:「一會善男女,同J39nB471_p0937c16個心與性,三大劫前共一會,今朝覺起還相認。」舉拂,J39nB471_p0937c17云:「且道認得山僧者個麼?此是威音那畔消息,因甚J39nB471_p0937c18不具眼?」復舉杖,云:「還識麼?若論者個道理,隨拈即是,J39nB471_p0937c19頻取即真,本無包藏覆蓋,現在山僧手裏,隨機發用,J39nB471_p0937c20借物安名,實際理地,體若虛空。老僧今日說破,要知J39nB471_p0937c21末後端的。咄!如何是端的一句?」良久,云:「形雖男女分J39nB471_p0937c22妍醜,貴賤賢愚一性靈,眉毛剔起返觀照,諸佛原是J39nB471_p0937c23眾生成。」舉:「舍利弗問天女曰:『何以不轉女身?』女曰:『我J39nB471_p0937c24從十二年來求女人相了不可得,當何所轉?』即時,天J39nB471_p0937c25女以神通立變舍利如天女,女化舍利,乃問:『何不轉J39nB471_p0937c26女身?』舍利答:『我今不知云何轉面而變為女身?』老僧J39nB471_p0937c27先不言佛性本無男女,秪在一念轉變受生之身而J39nB471_p0937c28有男女。雖言如是,天女縱有神通,難躲火宅三災,舍J39nB471_p0937c29利被他轉變,跳出劫外稱尊。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB471_p0937c30上堂。師云:「了卻孽障本來空,未了應當償俗債。且道J39nB471_p0938a01了個甚麼?莫不是士庶齊家之心未了、王侯治國之J39nB471_p0938a02心未了?若論此事,上老下孝、上長下弟、上恤孤而民J39nB471_p0938a03不倍,亦絜矩之道已矣,還有甚麼不了的?莫不是一J39nB471_p0938a04腔熱血乾枯、一吸冷氣消散?只恐那時間腳忙手亂,J39nB471_p0938a05不能作得主麼?恍恍惚惚間,不知生從何來;黑漫漫J39nB471_p0938a06地,不知死從何去。果是者些子不了,也還救得一半,J39nB471_p0938a07還有一半附在山僧者拄杖子,一了百當去。」以拄杖J39nB471_p0938a08畫一圓相,向相中一卓,云:「迷時悟時不離者個道理,J39nB471_p0938a09了與不了更無兩處安排。不二安排一句如何道?大J39nB471_p0938a10千沙界,拈來盡在一毫端;百萬須彌,識得何常離方J39nB471_p0938a11寸?」舉:「摩訶迦葉尊者一日踏泥次,有一沙彌見,乃問:J39nB471_p0938a12『尊者何得自為?』者曰:『我若不為,誰為我為?』老僧告眾:J39nB471_p0938a13原來此事不共他有,實在親下手始得。山僧十二發J39nB471_p0938a14狠出家,精誠持戒、竭力參禪,方有今日。所以,佛言:『作J39nB471_p0938a15白業,受白業;作黑業,受黑業。』山僧者裏不然,假作惡J39nB471_p0938a16業深如海,只在回光一念真,識得屠兒日用處,作孽J39nB471_p0938a17原來成佛人。」以拄杖一卓,下座。
J39nB471_p0938a18上堂。師云:「瞞天說價,不如就地還錢,不怕骨董,只要J39nB471_p0938a19貨賣。當時山僧自從三十年前收得一件物,豬不喫、J39nB471_p0938a20狗不聞,直至而今無人酬價。擬將示於士民,似乎淡J39nB471_p0938a21而無味;擬欲告於宰官,未必信而海納;擬去進於朝J39nB471_p0938a22廷,惟恐明珠見刖,不如自放自收。且道有多少貴重?J39nB471_p0938a23或時不值文錢、或時充滿大千,世尊曾受人王,山僧J39nB471_p0938a24拈在當然,分明指示大眾,大家都要著眼。」舉:「菩提達J39nB471_p0938a25磨因般若多羅尊者受香至王尊重供養無價寶珠,J39nB471_p0938a26以珠示問:『此珠圓明有能及否?』磨曰:『此是世寶未足J39nB471_p0938a27為上,諸寶中法寶為上;此是世光未足為上,諸明中J39nB471_p0938a28心明為上。此珠光明未能自照,要假智光光辨於此。』J39nB471_p0938a29然則師有其道,其寶自現;眾生有道,心寶亦然。試問J39nB471_p0938a30大眾:尊者圓明寶與山僧無價珠,誰貴?誰賤?」眾無答。J39nB471_p0938b01「噯!若不識貴賤,還取本人去。」下座。
J39nB471_p0938b02上堂。師云:「法不孤起,仗境方生;道無定方,隨機而用。J39nB471_p0938b03且道是甚麼機?莫不是崖前石虎吼,水底泥牛嘶?若J39nB471_p0938b04是者個東西,緊防性命,休去當頭,山僧退去,耳不願J39nB471_p0938b05聞。」執杖作怕勢,下座。
J39nB471_p0938b06除夕,上堂。師云:「今朝三十數盡,明日從頭數來,惟有J39nB471_p0938b07者個時節,無論貴賤賢愚,卻被他瞞。有不受瞞者麼?」J39nB471_p0938b08僧出,師叱之,云:「受瞞來耶?」其僧退去,師笑云:「受瞞去J39nB471_p0938b09耶?還有不受瞞的麼?眾齊聲一喝,師云:任伊喝到劫J39nB471_p0938b10盡日,枉步徬徨卻被瞞。」問:「如何纔不受瞞?」「梁皇尚且J39nB471_p0938b11覿面錯,九年面壁等知音。」問:「三十日到來事如何?」師J39nB471_p0938b12云:「神愁鬼哭。」問:「年盡月盡,此事有盡麼?」師云:「月缺日J39nB471_p0938b13圓。」問:「如何是盡底一句?」師云:「龍宮海藏別有天。」問:「三J39nB471_p0938b14聖門開,為甚麼人設?」師云:「惟接上上機。」進云:「某甲亦J39nB471_p0938b15望接引。」師云:「把手牽人行不得,為人自肯乃方親。」問:J39nB471_p0938b16「中下機能修悟道否?」師云:「修證即不無,染污即不得。」J39nB471_p0938b17乃云:「腳忙手亂在今日,七顛八倒在此時。所以云:閒J39nB471_p0938b18時辦得就,急中方得用。如今正是三十,黑臉老漢打J39nB471_p0938b19算飯錢,將何抵對?老夫不得不預先為眾告過,臨岐J39nB471_p0938b20失措,怪不得老僧矣。」問:「和尚將何抵敵?」師舉起拄杖,J39nB471_p0938b21云:「老僧者更利害,十地聞之腦裂,佛魔向此喪身。有J39nB471_p0938b22不喪身失命者,聽山僧者棒的作用。拈起時如靠山J39nB471_p0938b23猛虎,放下似入水蛟龍,又如倚天長劍、括地金襴,不J39nB471_p0938b24啻一棒能全殺活之機,尚有起死回生之妙。」喝一喝,J39nB471_p0938b25云:「打開八面玲瓏,齊唱堯天舜日。」下座。
J39nB471_p0938b26元旦,上堂。拈香竟,云:「今朝是元旦,觀心默自歎,無何J39nB471_p0938b27報四恩,掬水勤三換。佛敕孝為先,普天香爇散,任從J39nB471_p0938b28百味磊如山,豈敵尋常彈指觀?」良久,云:「報恩已竟。」
J39nB471_p0938b29上堂。師云:「頭頭不漏風,法法不住腳。且道向甚麼處J39nB471_p0938b30著眼?」豎杖,云:「山僧者拄杖,原來不欠虧,本不有覆藏,J39nB471_p0938c01應物而現形,隨事而消長。咄!又露風住腳也。」舉:「南陽J39nB471_p0938c02慧忠國師因肅宗問:『如何是十身調御?』師乃起立,曰:J39nB471_p0938c03『會麼?』帝曰:『不會。』師云:『與老僧過淨瓶來。』又曰:『如何是J39nB471_p0938c04無諍三昧?』師云:『檀越向毘盧頂上行。』帝曰:『此意如何?』J39nB471_p0938c05師云:『莫認自己清淨法身。』且問大眾:國師酬機起立J39nB471_p0938c06處有何虧欠?隨宜便用,喜得是佛心天子一坦平過,J39nB471_p0938c07虧我國師善能放收。若是罽賓國王,具得有分殺人J39nB471_p0938c08不眨眼的手段。且問國師:向甚麼處安排?若向者裏J39nB471_p0938c09收煞不下,不啻淨瓶沒處挂,一時太麤生。」下座。
J39nB471_p0938c10上堂。師云:「遍空無雲翳,看來事事舒,拈起頭頭覺,切J39nB471_p0938c11擬辨精麤。有不辨精麤者麼?」問:「如何是道?」師云:「三腳J39nB471_p0938c12驢兒弄蹄跳。」進云:「如何是禪?」師云:「岩前石虎抱兒眠。」J39nB471_p0938c13進云:「如何是法?」師云:「但著一字刺眼瞎。」進云:「如何是J39nB471_p0938c14僧?」師云:「白玉無瑕,包納乾坤。」進云:「如何是娘生面目?」J39nB471_p0938c15師揮拂,云:「見麼?」敲爐,云:「聞麼?」僧作禮,師云:「若向者裏J39nB471_p0938c16有見有聞則不然,更討個端的是好。」問:「如何是捷近J39nB471_p0938c17西方?」師以拄杖指丹墀,云:「丹墀下已湧八功德水,行J39nB471_p0938c18臺上早生七寶行樹。」乃云:「彌陀豈在西方?處處利生J39nB471_p0938c19放光。觀音何獨南海?隨心方方脫灑。勢至道場西域,J39nB471_p0938c20未曾舉念先至。文殊亦非五臺,稍纔心動疾來。普賢J39nB471_p0938c21安止峨眉,利生行緣隨宜。」舉掌示眾,云:「見麼?阿彌陀J39nB471_p0938c22佛併及四大菩薩時聞山僧在此寶華臺上讚揚諸J39nB471_p0938c23佛功德,各乘獅子、白象、麒麟、水獸至山僧掌上,運大J39nB471_p0938c24神通,各住一指頂上,顯大世界,轉大法輪,宣揚妙法,J39nB471_p0938c25教化眾生。奈何大眾有眼不能見、有耳不能聞,山僧J39nB471_p0938c26只教汝等正向不見不聞處取討一個端的去。且道:J39nB471_p0938c27如何是端的一句?」良久,云:「緊把繩頭牢拴定,是誰前J39nB471_p0938c28去分東西?剛纔一念微微舉,剎剎塵塵花雨飛。」
J39nB471_p0938c29上堂。師云:「輝天鑒地,不同日月之明;耀古騰今,全藉J39nB471_p0938c30智慧之鑑。昔日老古錐多順人情,三頭兩面;今朝在J39nB471_p0939a01山僧分中則不然,腳踏金剛燄,手把金剛劍,有人出J39nB471_p0939a02頭來,性命難得算。有不避鋒鋩者,出來與山僧相見。」J39nB471_p0939a03僧出,師便打,僧喊云:「屈!屈!」師云:「正好劄。」問:「佛為三界J39nB471_p0939a04師,何故評論?」師云:「因他自尊,故遭人論。」進云:「學人論J39nB471_p0939a05得和尚麼?」師云:「有為者亦若是。」問:「學人鈍機,望師開J39nB471_p0939a06示。」師舉杖,云:「會麼?」進云:「不會。」師一喝,云:「會麼?」進云:「不J39nB471_p0939a07會。」師良久,云:「會麼?」進云:「不會。」乃云:「光灼灼、赤灑灑、淨J39nB471_p0939a08裸裸,盡淨與汝說過了。因甚不會?總為爾等盡向聰J39nB471_p0939a09明知見處思惟卜度,有文有學處執耶?或向空空無J39nB471_p0939a10所有處以成許多解路上的活計去耶?故此不會。無J39nB471_p0939a11心處現真如、無法處演妙藏、無言處談最上乘文、不J39nB471_p0939a12加點處通達三藏,故云:一念不生全體現,六根纔動J39nB471_p0939a13被雲遮。還會麼?若不會,聽吾一頌:不達心頭一味禪,J39nB471_p0939a14思惟卜度到驢年,死心空坐皆同病,閉目抽添鬼子J39nB471_p0939a15玄,但把本參如鐵橛,虛空拶碎陰魔蠲。」下座。
J39nB471_p0939a16上堂。師噓一聲云:「吹法螺兮擊法鼓,布慈雲兮演今J39nB471_p0939a17古。」舉杖示眾云:「者個是今是古?山僧正要個不通今J39nB471_p0939a18古的相會。」問:「世有不讀五車書,不達現前句,如何了J39nB471_p0939a19卻生死?」師云:「文章雖是人天眼,不了豈從紙墨尋?」進J39nB471_p0939a20云:「古人既了生死,即今安在哉?」師打云:「饒君讀盡世J39nB471_p0939a21間書,未識書中半箇字。」問:「大地喚作眼,看箇甚麼?」師J39nB471_p0939a22打云:「惟看瞎驢跛鱉。」乃云:「大地喚作眼,棒頭認不的,J39nB471_p0939a23小盡二十九,大盡有三十,不知真下落,費盡眼骨力,J39nB471_p0939a24一點圓阤阤,今古尚難識。咄!月罷又初一。」
J39nB471_p0939a25上堂。震威一喝,云:「山有崩,水有滲,桑麻海屋無窮盡。J39nB471_p0939a26道風扇處聚人天,法雨灑時三有潤。所以,佛法無窮J39nB471_p0939a27盡、虛空無盡、山僧利生海願無盡,口喃喃只教仁者J39nB471_p0939a28自參悟、自休歇。何故?勤來朝參暮請,有箇甚麼說處?J39nB471_p0939a29不聞釋迦老人說法四十九年,會集三百餘處,未嘗J39nB471_p0939a30道著一字。世尊云:『吾滅度後,有諸眾生道:吾有法可J39nB471_p0939b01說,即謗如來。十方諸佛實無一法與人。』所以,須菩提J39nB471_p0939b02無說而說、釋梵天無聽而聽。且道:山僧者裏是有法J39nB471_p0939b03說耶?無法說耶?未必教與諸人頭上安頭、畫蛇添足J39nB471_p0939b04耶?者件虛事決定不為,實無法與人。若有法與人,雲J39nB471_p0939b05門不道:『人人盡有光明在,看時不見暗昏昏。』且道:以J39nB471_p0939b06何方便?」良久,云:「早有佛法耶?呵呵!雖然,聊通一線,也J39nB471_p0939b07是人情可做。欣然做得,留情處且容情。」下座。
J39nB471_p0939b08上堂。師云:「降龍伏虎,幾番驚駭人天;平實商量,盡是J39nB471_p0939b09一場扯淡。高山紫氣騰騰,乃是乾坤造化;平地煙雲J39nB471_p0939b10疊疊,俱是宇宙生機。難道溪小得容鰲,未必海寬肯J39nB471_p0939b11納屍?鄧天君雖然呼風喚雨,無非濟物利生;赤帝子J39nB471_p0939b12拿妖捉怪,尚有把住放行。俱是興上皇之風,開正覺J39nB471_p0939b13之道。大悲運物,若兩儀之覆載;應機設化,猶四序之J39nB471_p0939b14生成。領悟各殊,其源皆一。」驀拈拄杖示眾,云:「信得及J39nB471_p0939b15麼?老僧者莖拄杖能覆大千沙界,能持百億須彌。呵J39nB471_p0939b16呵!尺鷃只知笑大鵬,井蛙那肯信滄海?」下座。
J39nB471_p0939b17上堂。師云:「佛法充洽,由誰可得?孝帝曾得燒香禮拜,J39nB471_p0939b18金人獲於甘泉浮圖齋,自漢時楚王尚得披服受持。J39nB471_p0939b19摩騰蘭乃中國沙門之始,直指傳係華夏祖道之初,J39nB471_p0939b20直至斯時,謦欬而成妙旨,跌蹼以為神通。」舉:「禾山揮J39nB471_p0939b21拂,云:『看者箇,在臨濟則照用齊行,在雲門理事俱備,J39nB471_p0939b22在曹洞偏正協通,在溈山暗機圓合,在法眼行止惟J39nB471_p0939b23心。噫!慧方自己無骨力爬撾、扯草湊籃,未嘗夢見諸J39nB471_p0939b24老。』山僧分中不然。」舉拂,云:「會麼?十方諸佛到此如聾J39nB471_p0939b25似啞,歷代祖師者裏鉗口結舌,此中還有道得者麼?」J39nB471_p0939b26眾齊聲一喝,師云:「咦!超過佛祖師一頭。」下座。
J39nB471_p0939b27上堂。云:「化日高懸,十方盡成春景;甘雨遍空,大地同J39nB471_p0939b28霑膏澤。者裏一雨普潤,還有焦枯者麼?一雲普覆,還J39nB471_p0939b29有熱惱者麼?若無,山僧利生之心了矣;若有,木上座J39nB471_p0939b30代眾與雲佈雨去。」擲下拄杖,云:「三十年前只愁摹不J39nB471_p0939c01著,如今祗圖推得開。」舉:「丞相張無盡常云:先佛所說:J39nB471_p0939c02『於一毫端現寶王剎,坐微塵裏轉大法輪。是真實義。J39nB471_p0939c03所以,欲明千古事,須看咫尺間。』且丞相白日見鬼,睜J39nB471_p0939c04眼說夢,只知鳳凰展翅,豈知鰲魚翻身?那時喜是自J39nB471_p0939c05歎。若向明眼人道,攔腮一摑,祗是你不真實,妄起是J39nB471_p0939c06非。咦!謾把白沙作玉粉,休將赤土當黃金。」
J39nB471_p0939c07上堂。問:「了無一法即如來,是則名為觀自在,和尚分J39nB471_p0939c08中又何如?」師良久,云:「會麼?」進云:「不會。」師以頌示之曰:J39nB471_p0939c09「若明一法一如來,得聽一音一觀音,是法不離一切J39nB471_p0939c10法,盡是本元妙覺心。」乃云:「弘通三際,道貫十方,總不J39nB471_p0939c11離者拄杖子。」擲下拄杖,云:「連者些子也用他不著,且J39nB471_p0939c12道又作麼生?」撫掌呵呵,「秪向者裏笑一聲已矣。」舉:「雲J39nB471_p0939c13門上堂,云:『函蓋乾坤,目機銖兩,不涉世緣,作麼生成?』J39nB471_p0939c14當眾無對。由此論之,連山僧者一笑聲猶是粘泥帶J39nB471_p0939c15水。山僧而今哭不是、笑不是,舊冬天寒中風,唯只咳J39nB471_p0939c16嗽一聲止他不得。」連聲咳咳咳,遂歸方丈。
J39nB471_p0939c17上堂。云:「庖犧無曆日,秦漢有春秋。人老鬢邊皓,樹凋J39nB471_p0939c18葉上收。物人同造化,返復入常流。虛空含萬象,光明J39nB471_p0939c19處處周。萬象情緣有,生滅古今憂。化化生生事,浮雲J39nB471_p0939c20電泡漚。寧向生前死,莫待死後休。生得死不得,同凡J39nB471_p0939c21入世流。死得生不得,沉淪轉九幽。不明現前句,步步J39nB471_p0939c22踏荒坵。踄山宜絕頂,渡水到岸周。火宅不久固,苦海J39nB471_p0939c23須覓舟。佛以三界為火宅,山僧變大地作清涼。一切J39nB471_p0939c24眾生沒在苦海,渡過便好。」一喝,云:「者一喝,迸開眾生J39nB471_p0939c25無明殼,打破生死關,截斷輪迴索。天地未判時,陰陽J39nB471_p0939c26誰卜度?一段如如體,安然無分合。任是大悲千手眼,J39nB471_p0939c27通身有口也難說。」舉杖示眾,云:「者裏還有說得者麼?J39nB471_p0939c28試道看。」眾無語,師云:「千古萬古移他不得。」舉:「證空禪J39nB471_p0939c29師因裴相國入大安寺,問:『諸大德!羅睺羅以何為第J39nB471_p0939c30一?』曰:『以密行為第一。』裴不肯,遂問:『此處有何禪者?』時J39nB471_p0940a01師在園種菜,遂來問:『羅睺羅以何為第一?』師曰:『不知。』J39nB471_p0940a02裴便禮拜,曰:『破布袋裏珍珠。』所以云:不逢劍客休呈J39nB471_p0940a03劍,未遇知音少拈提。雖然如是,也是瞎眼雞𧡲著米J39nB471_p0940a04頭。假如丞相任前不肯,不啻求榮,亦且沒趣。大眾識J39nB471_p0940a05麼?且道裴相國禮拜是重他?是愧他?謾道不知是第J39nB471_p0940a06一,不知已落第三機。」下座。
J39nB471_p0940a07上堂。問:「靈山一曲,何人調得?」師云:「鐵嘴禪和沒好音。」J39nB471_p0940a08進云:「兩岸羅叉手,都是弄潮人。」師云:「欲想鱣鱧,先學J39nB471_p0940a09搬罾。」問:「仙家以魚鼓簡板為樂,儒家以歌舞琴棋為J39nB471_p0940a10樂,和尚以何為樂?」師云:「山僧自有調曲人。」進云:「滿堂J39nB471_p0940a11啞巴漢,只好說春。」師云:「牛皮燈籠亮不透。」進云:「和尚J39nB471_p0940a12何不舉出?」師云:「有甚包藏?」乃云:「揚千古風,盡在者裏;J39nB471_p0940a13作萬世模,不離此處。且道此處有何奇特?大地難逃J39nB471_p0940a14一撮土,四海總歸一滴泉,滿空皆同一吸風,前後化J39nB471_p0940a15行一復然。」以拄杖畫圓相,云:「此地他方,盡空法界,皆J39nB471_p0940a16同者箇道理,瞞他不過。且道是甚麼道理?」喝一喝,云:J39nB471_p0940a17「崑崙山上一槌鼓,四海龍宮齊著驚,落得山僧打一J39nB471_p0940a18笑,草木盡同古佛心。」舉:「備宗一禪師因雲峰指火,曰:J39nB471_p0940a19『三世諸佛在火燄裏轉大法輪。』師曰:『近日王令稍嚴。』J39nB471_p0940a20峰曰:『作麼生?』師曰:『不許攙奪行市。』且問大眾:山僧者J39nB471_p0940a21拄杖頭轉得麼?」擲下拄杖,云:「又向甚麼處轉?呵呵!一J39nB471_p0940a22毫頭上空寂寂,百燄光中自如如。」
J39nB471_p0940a23上堂。云:「當日趙州道箇麻三斤,山僧稱來止有四十J39nB471_p0940a24單八兩,想是那老漢耳聾眼花,錯認定盤星。時下有J39nB471_p0940a25不錯認者麼?出來與山僧相見。」問:「乾坤為秤,日月為J39nB471_p0940a26星,稱箇甚麼?」師云:「乾屎橛子。」進云:「值甚麼價?」師打,云:J39nB471_p0940a27「朝打三千,暮打八百。」進云:「為甚如此?」師云:「因汝不識J39nB471_p0940a28貨。」進云:「茄子王瓜意如何?」師云:「屬鹽的鹹,屬醋的酸。」J39nB471_p0940a29進云:「六味調和。」師云:「無你下口處。」問:「業識茫茫,將何J39nB471_p0940a30作主?」師云:「曾造何業?」進云:「諸業俱備。」師云:「善哉,善哉!J39nB471_p0940b01高人耶?智人耶?」進云:「和尚分上如何?」師云:「見現即親,J39nB471_p0940b02見物即真。」進云:「境物不立時作麼生?」師打,云:「好消息。」J39nB471_p0940b03僧禮退,師乃云:「好消息,好消息,知音不費半毫力,舉J39nB471_p0940b04目揚眉答上機,拈拳豎指當人識。絡索千番萬番盡J39nB471_p0940b05同者番,說甚三乘五乘總歸一乘?拄杖子亦是方便,J39nB471_p0940b06者箇元字腳豈安在哉?爾諸人向者一撇無容處摸J39nB471_p0940b07索、一點無安處點檢,摸索、點檢得出,報與方丈,山僧J39nB471_p0940b08豈肯辜負那時間?不枉大眾今日在此晝夜磨灰纏J39nB471_p0940b09上;點檢不出,只須驢腳即佛腳、我手即佛手,南泉斬J39nB471_p0940b10卻貓,兩堂都喚口。噓!者裏不薦取,更向何處剖?」
J39nB471_p0940b11上堂。云:「宗風鼓扇處,草木活如龍;法雨流通處,土石J39nB471_p0940b12明似鏡。」驀拈拄杖示眾,云:「且道者是鼓扇?是流通?若J39nB471_p0940b13道者是鼓扇,虛空烜赫無涯岸;若道者是流通,大地J39nB471_p0940b14山河一掌中。午時星斗現,半夜日頭紅,青山無間地,J39nB471_p0940b15綠水有鱗鯮。所以,釋迦老人靈山說法,風化三千大J39nB471_p0940b16千,無方不週、無處不普。聞而深信者,善根增長;讚誦J39nB471_p0940b17禮拜者,獲福無量;參悟深窮者,見性明心。三世諸佛J39nB471_p0940b18同一鼻孔,歷代祖師共把鉗錘,總要一箇信字而已J39nB471_p0940b19矣。何故獨說箇信字?信者,道源功德毋;信者,諸善之J39nB471_p0940b20本;信者,究竟解脫之方向;信者,成佛作祖之徑路。信J39nB471_p0940b21得及,一言透徹,三藏明了;信得及,諸佛眾生一體同J39nB471_p0940b22觀,佛性種子無二無別;信得及,三世諸佛把手併行,J39nB471_p0940b23十方如來同塔趺坐,迷與悟無欠無餘,凡與聖無剩J39nB471_p0940b24無虧。識得者箇天真明妙,從來不增不減、不垢不淨、J39nB471_p0940b25無去無來、無死無生,只因眾生而有種種差別,貪愛J39nB471_p0940b26執著妄生顛倒,起諸善惡業緣,故此而有六道四生J39nB471_p0940b27者,輪迴生死苦惱也。所以,慈仁大覺釋迦文佛愍念J39nB471_p0940b28眾生,設權方便,開宗演教,末後拈花,首傳迦葉,燈燈J39nB471_p0940b29續燄,祖祖相傳,而至吾師六十九世仍授吾儕,揮弘J39nB471_p0940b30法化,道利群情,鼓扇宗風,流通正印。故此,今日只得J39nB471_p0940c01挺身出來,與諸後學作箇綱要,立箇龜鑑。且道:如何J39nB471_p0940c02是龜鑑一句?有智若聞,則能信解;無智疑悔,則為永J39nB471_p0940c03失。珍重,珍重。」下座。
J39nB471_p0940c04解制,上堂。云:「八字打開,另作商量,捲包收杖,論甚高J39nB471_p0940c05強。」問:「百期圓滿,何處再安排?」師云:「道泰不行法王令,J39nB471_p0940c06時豐同樂太平春。」進云:「學人他日如何行履?」師云:「龍J39nB471_p0940c07用缽降,虎以錫伏,只要無心,天人擁護。」乃云:「壅圖獅J39nB471_p0940c08奮舞,廊畫鳥嘶催,樵子長歌路,漁翁罷釣回。虞絃絲J39nB471_p0940c09另緝,楚笛竹重栽,吩咐諸禪衲,閣樓門正開。」擲下拄J39nB471_p0940c10杖,云:「大家脫灑去,法幢豎再來。」眾禮竟,下座。
