J36nB369_p0924c04康熙丙午年正月十一日入院。
J36nB369_p0924c05結制,上堂。「本圖閒散愛高眠,不謂西東已一年,此事J36nB369_p0924c06分明無揜蔽,青山綠水在門前。所以,遊客謳吟、村人J36nB369_p0924c07謉諢,動脣有響、開口成音,著著與諸人提持此事,省J36nB369_p0924c08了山僧多少氣力。蓋終日于中受用而有不知者,舍J36nB369_p0924c09諸而他求,誠為顛倒。此等說話,大似向空裏拋一塊J36nB369_p0924c10石子,打著得一個半個徹底知音,可謂一生事畢。既J36nB369_p0924c11無其人,山僧不得已再向空裏拋塊石子,如有觸得J36nB369_p0924c12著,敢保如貧得寶、如暗得燈、如病得差、如夢得醒。若J36nB369_p0924c13也錯過,諸人性命還在山僧手裏。」乃擊拂子,顧左右:J36nB369_p0924c14「日歟?月歟?不深省,定應倏忽成蹉跎。」
J36nB369_p0924c15過石門,檀護建普利懺會,請上堂。「有一句,絕思算,鬧J36nB369_p0924c16市波斯赤腳走。無一句,好商量,枯樁開出白蓮花。有J36nB369_p0924c17與無,俱埽除,格外明宗猶未了。須是本色道流,一見J36nB369_p0924c18而決定無疑。則知大解脫門不離腳下,妙菩提路盡J36nB369_p0924c19在目前。亙古亙今,無遷無壞。莫論是聖是凡,便能入J36nB369_p0924c20淨入穢,入真入俗。現種種身形,示種種方便。以一遍J36nB369_p0924c21一切,無塵不異;以一切含一,有法皆同。萬境紛紜,千J36nB369_p0924c22機參互。所以市客爭歡、旅人呼嘯,靈羽翀霄、祥麟遊J36nB369_p0924c23野,黃花滿徑、紅蓼盈灘,雞啼茅舍之煙、鷺點村田之J36nB369_p0924c24雪,頭頭是本有風光,物物是自己受用。當恁麼時,誰J36nB369_p0924c25為諸佛?誰為眾生?誰為天堂?誰為地獄?誰為同倫?誰J36nB369_p0924c26為異類?誰為四生?誰為六道?誰為迷悟?誰為淨穢?誰J36nB369_p0924c27為善惡?誰為是非?蓋有一等無轉智漢,情分畛畔,識J36nB369_p0924c28昧圓常,認草菴為極樂無畏之鄉,以途路當究竟安J36nB369_p0924c29隱之地,總道西方是嚴淨自在一邊,娑婆是險惡自J36nB369_p0924c30在一邊。不唯循聲流轉,未得慶快平生,亦帶累無量J36nB369_p0925a01壽大醫王受屈無伸。如今因緣會遇,時節相應,不妨J36nB369_p0925a02據款結案。」擊拂子曰:「金臂遙垂求好友,盡將肝膽向J36nB369_p0925a03人傾。」
J36nB369_p0925a04蕭山吳門智愷五十生辰,請上堂。「盡大地是箇真實J36nB369_p0925a05道體,誰分是聖是凡、是男是女?盡大地是箇微妙法J36nB369_p0925a06門,孰謂有短有長、有廣有狹?」豎拂子,曰:「向者裏見得J36nB369_p0925a07透、信得及,得其淺者,可以孝敬事上、可以慈仁訓下,J36nB369_p0925a08金蘭之室和氣藹然、玉樹之庭春風燠若;證入深者,J36nB369_p0925a09成就一切世界、莊嚴一切剎境,各各不相知、彼彼不J36nB369_p0925a10相借。如是,則知世裔與道裔爭繁、壽命與慧命共衍。J36nB369_p0925a11復以寶花滿掬,親到曹山殷勤三請,欲說箇知命因J36nB369_p0925a12由、提箇出世綱要。山僧既已願赴來機,不妨重添註J36nB369_p0925a13腳:不是心、不是佛、不是物,山山列翠自多奇,歲歲相J36nB369_p0925a14看元不別。」
J36nB369_p0925a15顯聖深谷和尚至,上堂。「雲門家裏白雪之歌,新豐路J36nB369_p0925a16上陽春之曲。象王有撩天鼻孔,不易唱酬;師子有踞J36nB369_p0925a17地威雄,實難賡和。所以山僧性同野鹿,跡類飛鴻。有J36nB369_p0925a18時愛月眠遲,有時惜花起蚤。苟非情忘彼此,理絕正J36nB369_p0925a19偏,未免遭他簡點道:應機謬亂,行徑異常,不顧石頭J36nB369_p0925a20一枝,埽土而盡。賴有顯聖師兄韻高絕俗,響徹驚群,J36nB369_p0925a21振聵提矇,是其餘事。特到曹山,要尋箇節拍相諧底J36nB369_p0925a22敵手。故我妄通消息,光輝祖道垂秋日,一體同仁好J36nB369_p0925a23弟兄。」
J36nB369_p0925a24上堂。「天下知識,門庭繁盛。倉實如陵,庾充如坻。此時J36nB369_p0925a25大開筵席以招賢者,兩班雍肅,萬指森嚴。有者鍋子J36nB369_p0925a26上索羹索飯,有者火爐邊說主說賓。有者道我目空J36nB369_p0925a27佛祖,不立纖塵。有者道我胸藏萬有,繁興大用。曹山J36nB369_p0925a28者裏冷清清地,緇田易匱,檀舍難求。隨家豐儉,任意J36nB369_p0925a29相將。雖有四五十個窮酸衲子,要坐要行,總無拘束。J36nB369_p0925a30或來或去,不用鉤錐。所謂彼我皆忘而無向背。」驀拈J36nB369_p0925b01拄杖曰:「釋迦老子來也。且道來為箇什麼?」卓一下曰:J36nB369_p0925b02「我法妙難思,止止不須說。」
J36nB369_p0925b03陶門弟子徐智暉四十初度,追嚴請上堂。豎拂子曰:J36nB369_p0925b04「大眾!看看!如來在曹山拂子頭上放種種音,莊嚴微J36nB369_p0925b05塵世界光明,開悟一切眾生,入于聞熏聞修金剛大J36nB369_p0925b06三昧海。是故遇斯光者,顯發正知正見,險道中廓圓J36nB369_p0925b07融之路,塵勞內施回互之機,向一念未生以前看見J36nB369_p0925b08本來面目,千門萬戶盡底豁開,罔極深恩從茲報荅,J36nB369_p0925b09迺知蝸牛角上世界最寬,蚊蚋眉間風光迥異,萬法J36nB369_p0925b10不離心印,好山都在屋頭,便能圓無量行、滿無量願、J36nB369_p0925b11得無量樂、證無量壽,何待出離母胎㘞地一聲,到了J36nB369_p0925b12不疑不惑田地,然後點頭自許曰:『此段光明原不分J36nB369_p0925b13賢愚貴賤、緇素男女,但有心者皆可證得。』老釋迦聞J36nB369_p0925b14曹山如此闡揚,不覺手舞足蹈,大聲慶讚。大眾!且道J36nB369_p0925b15慶讚箇甚麼?世間出世同途事,松老南山見歲寒。」
J36nB369_p0925b16上堂。「三冬無雨無雪,天氣不寒不熱。西風一陣吹來,J36nB369_p0925b17落盡樹頭黃葉。諸仁眼裏也是、耳裏也是,面前也是、J36nB369_p0925b18背後也是,惟恐心裏不是。心裏若是,好捲起疏簾看。J36nB369_p0925b19一泓清水,半鉤新月,莫孤負此箇時節。喝!」
J36nB369_p0925b20大慶院,請上堂。「殘山之麓,大路通霄,多少人到者裏J36nB369_p0925b21無由進步;賸水之灣,圓音震吼,多少人到者裏有耳J36nB369_p0925b22絕聞。蓋此箇事本無滲漏,豈落正偏?在家裏人分上,J36nB369_p0925b23秖要忘得失于生佛已前、究根元于威音那畔,不必J36nB369_p0925b24深思巧摸,隨手把將過來,可以陶聖鑄凡、可以匡時J36nB369_p0925b25救弊、可以開拓人天正路、可以闡揚佛祖鴻猷,所以J36nB369_p0925b26一度施為,一度光鮮,一番敲磕,一番慶快。拄杖子見J36nB369_p0925b27如此激揚,不禁踴躍,乃高聲喚曰:『長老向謂有箇奇J36nB369_p0925b28特事,要說無因,欲默不得。今日大慶院設齋,趁此時J36nB369_p0925b29好說了也。』山僧道:『有甚奇特?』」卓拄杖,曰:「白雲出峽晴J36nB369_p0925b30堪畫,流水盈門煥至文。」
J36nB369_p0925c01上堂。「有者六門悄悄,萬境寥寥,恒與諸塵作對。有者J36nB369_p0925c02日裏紛紛,夜間擾擾,深得無諍三昧。簡點將來,一個J36nB369_p0925c03有頭無尾,一箇有尾無頭。如何得頭尾相應去?天曉J36nB369_p0925c04玉八方破夢,夜寒石女懶拋梭。」
J36nB369_p0925c05陶門眾善人請上堂。「煙雲絢彩,石壁玲瓏,魚閑翻浪,J36nB369_p0925c06鳥逸翀霄,款乃漁歌流韻,扶疏古木成章,此是人人J36nB369_p0925c07自在受用之無盡藏也。但隊進隊出,總以麤心測度、J36nB369_p0925c08淺見揣摩,糞埽堆頭揀得一星以當大事,正是認一J36nB369_p0925c09浮漚,目為全潮。果具大根大器者,聞著便悟徹根元、J36nB369_p0925c10舉著便直探底蘊,則知大道無相,不以男女分;至化J36nB369_p0925c11無垠,不以真俗異。所以,過去諸如來、現在諸菩薩、未J36nB369_p0925c12來修學人盡在其中,同一受用、同一作息,體離斷常,J36nB369_p0925c13心無異致。」以拂子擊案一下,曰:「無盡藏已打開了,七J36nB369_p0925c14珍八寶已撒向諸仁缽盂裏了,如有嚼得著者,便好J36nB369_p0925c15因齋慶讚,山僧敢不成褫你?」擲拂子,下座。
J36nB369_p0925c16上堂。舉:「雲蓋智和尚曰:『昨日登山看釣魚,步行騎馬J36nB369_p0925c17失卻驢。有人揀得駱駝去,重賞千金一也無。若向者J36nB369_p0925c18裏薦得,不著還草鞋錢。』」師曰:「雲蓋恁麼道,草鞋錢固J36nB369_p0925c19不著還,未免倏南倏北,徙運無常。欲得金輪不御,至J36nB369_p0925c20化遠孚,有藉諸仁道取一句。」乃良久曰:「絕境當年不J36nB369_p0925c21厭尋,平田此日媿行吟。山堂懶聽浮沉事,高臥軒窗J36nB369_p0925c22月自臨。」
J36nB369_p0925c23上堂。良久曰:「有無量妙法要與諸仁說,一時想不起J36nB369_p0925c24來。」復良久曰:「是了是了,十一月十五,劈面寒風無處J36nB369_p0925c25躲,兩兩三三曝背向火。可笑釋迦一生枉受辛苦,達J36nB369_p0925c26磨九年釘樁搖櫓,天下諸大老個個麻纏紙裹,總不J36nB369_p0925c27如樊江市上、相公廟裏、壁角落頭、張三李四一隊伴J36nB369_p0925c28夥,不論有無,互為賓主,喫得醉醺醺、飽齁齁,地上鋪J36nB369_p0925c29箇破席子,兩腳長伸自在眠,趯破虛空不用補。」顧左J36nB369_p0925c30右曰:「好不好?」便下座。
J36nB369_p0926a01上堂。「人人有個本來面目,信與不信皆在自己,何待J36nB369_p0926a02謬說是非、較量長短,然後謂之見得諦當?遠之遠矣。J36nB369_p0926a03大眾!那個是你本來面目?霜葉紅于二月花。」
J36nB369_p0926a04上堂。舉:「雪峰因僧問:『學人大事未明,乞師指示。』峰曰:J36nB369_p0926a05『是甚麼?』僧于言下大悟。」師曰:「我為君子,欲天下人為J36nB369_p0926a06君子,雪峰之心無不至矣。其僧于言下悟去,可謂志J36nB369_p0926a07以時成,名因勢立。若到曹山門下,拄杖未肯放過在。J36nB369_p0926a08何故?鳳縈金網尤為礙,鶴出銀籠始是奇。」
J36nB369_p0926a09上堂。驀喚曰:「拄杖子。」自曰:「長老有何分付?」復曰:「此時J36nB369_p0926a10你應出來,高提祖印,大闡宗猷,終日倚墻靠壁,東躲J36nB369_p0926a11西穴,是何道理?」自曰:「長老言之過矣。若是高提祖印,J36nB369_p0926a12大闡宗猷,自有一千五百人過堂喫清水白米飯底J36nB369_p0926a13大和尚!我才學得個烏龜法,得縮頭且縮頭,又刺頭J36nB369_p0926a14在荊棘中,豈不自討苦喫?」復曰:「恁麼則現前許多龍J36nB369_p0926a15象莫不孤負他去?」自曰:「長老若不吝慈悲,我當出來J36nB369_p0926a16毘贊。」復曰:「山僧說底恐不合時宜。」自曰:「敢問其所以J36nB369_p0926a17不合?」拈拄杖曰:「拄杖子𨁝跳上天,觸折舜若多神脊J36nB369_p0926a18梁,蹎將下來,打破常住方磚。」卓一下。
J36nB369_p0926a19上堂。舉:「德山因臨濟侍立次,山曰:『今日困那?』濟曰:『者J36nB369_p0926a20老漢寐語作麼?』山便打,濟掀倒禪床,山休去。」師曰:「兩J36nB369_p0926a21個漢飯飽弄箸,家醜自揚,不顧傍人揀點,古今商量,J36nB369_p0926a22都道棋逢敵手,琴遇知音。恁麼見解,要見臨濟、德山J36nB369_p0926a23太遠在。且道曹山意作麼生?狂歌思阮籍,長嘯傲孫J36nB369_p0926a24登。」
J36nB369_p0926a25上堂。舉:「龍牙問翠微曰:『某到和尚法席,每每上參,未J36nB369_p0926a26蒙一言示誨,意在于何?』微曰:『你嫌個甚麼?』牙又問洞J36nB369_p0926a27山,山曰:『爭怪得老僧?』」師曰:「翠微、洞山雖不錯足隨時,J36nB369_p0926a28未免矜名而混俗。設問曹山:『每每上參,未蒙一言示J36nB369_p0926a29誨,意在于何?』拈起拄杖曰:『在他豪與富,唯我赤窮身。』」J36nB369_p0926a30乃擲下。
J36nB369_p0926b01上堂。舉:「南泉上堂曰:『王老師賣身去也,還有人買麼?』J36nB369_p0926b02一僧出曰:『某甲買。』泉曰:『不作貴,不作賤,汝作麼生買?』J36nB369_p0926b03僧無對。」師曰:「王老師只要出脫滯貨,豈知時價不等。J36nB369_p0926b04其僧固有交易之心,且無酬價之意。天下宗匠判斷J36nB369_p0926b05甚多,總非當行斟酌,所以彼此鈍置。若是曹山當時J36nB369_p0926b06待他道:『不作貴,不作賤,汝作麼生買?』但向他道:『知心J36nB369_p0926b07不在多言語,憑據何須紙半張。』」
J36nB369_p0926b08上堂。「莫談古德家猷,不說今人樞要。與其立正立偏,J36nB369_p0926b09總是夢中禮樂。若也分賓分主,無非醉裏乾坤。應知J36nB369_p0926b10有一句子,纘佛祖淵源之緒,暢衲僧本分之懷。且道J36nB369_p0926b11是那一句?」良久,「臘月二十五。」
J36nB369_p0926b12除夜,小參。「劫前風韻,二聽絕聞;格外徽猷,五眼莫睹。J36nB369_p0926b13世尊拈花,萬古式俎豆之事;達磨面壁,千秋徵文獻J36nB369_p0926b14之宜。德山棒頭,開筵待士;臨濟喝下,闢路求賢。循名J36nB369_p0926b15可美,攷實未嘉,總須按過一邊,可以置之不論。曹山J36nB369_p0926b16除夜,蓋是平常,不比東村王老燒錢哄鬼,非效北禪J36nB369_p0926b17烹露地白牛,多費唇舌。現前諸仁既然相聚,不妨同J36nB369_p0926b18為慶頌,來年還我豐隆,人人坐笑春風。切為己躬下J36nB369_p0926b19事,高興無窮,莫把光陰虛度,羞見江東,但願鼻孔仍J36nB369_p0926b20在口邊、眉毛不離眼上,可消憂悶幾千重。」
J36nB369_p0926b21復舉:「睦州因僧問:『一言道盡時如何?』州曰:『老僧在你J36nB369_p0926b22缽囊裏。』」師曰:「陳尊宿被者僧一問,大似欠了千萬貫J36nB369_p0926b23錢,到臘月三十日,被人抑逼將來,無地藏身,卻向缽J36nB369_p0926b24囊裏躲閃。若是有膽量底,將缽囊裂破,看他是何面J36nB369_p0926b25觜。設問曹山:『一言道盡時如何?』『今宵歸舊臘,明日賀J36nB369_p0926b26新年。』」
J36nB369_p0926b27上堂。「新年頭佛法有,鏡清道了也。新年頭佛法無,明J36nB369_p0926b28教道了也。雖則聲調一般,看來二俱失利。曹山佛法,J36nB369_p0926b29不說有,不說無。元朝已過十日,騷人韻士、醉漢村夫,J36nB369_p0926b30連袂來遊,載歡載歌,或嘲或笑。若是碩學飽參,頂門J36nB369_p0926c01眼正,自能言氣相合,機感相孚。倘不然者……」卓拄杖曰:J36nB369_p0926c02「曹山今日失利。」
J36nB369_p0926c03上堂。問:「德山棒、臨濟喝總置不論,忽遇向上人來,如J36nB369_p0926c04何接待?」師曰:「八面玲瓏無縫罅。」曰:「秖如掀倒禪床、喝J36nB369_p0926c05散大眾又作麼生?」師曰:「恐上座不是其人。」僧便喝,師J36nB369_p0926c06亦喝,乃曰:「諸方能為雅調新聲,山僧只說陳年舊話。J36nB369_p0926c07僧問趙州曰:『承聞和尚親見南泉,是否?』州曰:『鎮州出J36nB369_p0926c08大蘿蔔。』趙州被此僧一逼,將心肝五臟一齊傾出,至J36nB369_p0926c09今收拾不來。阿呵呵,好大哥!今人作人多自私,我心J36nB369_p0926c10不說那得知。喝!」
J36nB369_p0926c11上堂。舉:「雲門因僧問:『如何是和尚家風?』門曰:『久雨不J36nB369_p0926c12晴。』僧曰:『如何是久雨不晴?』門曰:『曬㫰著。』」師曰:「前無古J36nB369_p0926c13往,後無將來。緝正大之業,雲門嘗自詡之。及乎扣擊,J36nB369_p0926c14乃草率應酬,頓見家風蕭瑟。曹山雖然冷澹,不致如J36nB369_p0926c15此荒疏。或有問:『如何是和尚家風?』『漏笊篱撈無米飯,J36nB369_p0926c16破砂盆搗爛生薑。』」
J36nB369_p0926c17上堂。以拄杖左邊卓一下曰:「此是釋迦秘藏。」右邊卓J36nB369_p0926c18一下曰:「此是達磨家私。若有克家之子,兩肩荷負。」乃J36nB369_p0926c19擲拄杖曰:「向者裏會取。」
J36nB369_p0926c20上堂。舉:「國一禪師因馬祖遣智藏來問曰:『十二時中J36nB369_p0926c21以何為境?』一曰:『侍汝回去時有信。』藏曰:『即今便回去。』J36nB369_p0926c22一曰:『傳語馬祖道:「卻須問取曹溪。」』」師曰:「馬祖推心而J36nB369_p0926c23任,所以其命維新;智藏竭力無嫌,可謂使不辱命。國J36nB369_p0926c24一簾垂黃閣,化馳如神,至親無文,憲章有在。子細看J36nB369_p0926c25來,總屬虛詞,都無實義。山僧有同門亦遣問曰:『十二J36nB369_p0926c26時中以何為境?』對他道:『山好登樓看,漁歌隔岸聞。』且J36nB369_p0926c27道古人底是?山僧底是?具眼者甄別看。」
J36nB369_p0926c28上堂。「陌上春風𩖼𩖼,階前微雨䨛䨛。隨緣放曠者,未J36nB369_p0926c29知就裏根元;任性逍遙者,罔測其中消息。須與那一J36nB369_p0926c30人步亦步、趨亦趨,成辦平生,合知端的。若也躊躇,不J36nB369_p0927a01勞久立。」
J36nB369_p0927a02上堂。「野鳥鳴于高樹,聲聲是威音那畔陽春;村童歌J36nB369_p0927a03于平疇,句句是熊耳峰前雪曲。天下明眼宗匠,到此J36nB369_p0927a04罔解分疏。」豎拂子,「秖如者個是何腔調?」擊一下,「桃源J36nB369_p0927a05憶故人。」
J36nB369_p0927a06出隊歸,上堂。「洞山接人,雅分三路;雲門應機,一字相J36nB369_p0927a07酬。可見二大老但有制猢猻底器械,無歸龍象之體J36nB369_p0927a08裁。曹山者裏也無三路語、也無一字關,從春徂夏,草J36nB369_p0927a09鞋踏武林夜月,遊笻探五洩靈蹤,自西自東、或出或J36nB369_p0927a10入,且道還有為人處也無?」擊拂子,曰:「清論固云多,美J36nB369_p0927a11話信非一。」
J36nB369_p0927a12結制上堂,就謝陶檀越齋。問:「風規凜肅,龍象臨筵,結J36nB369_p0927a13制陞堂,有何方便?」師曰:「自肯狂心歇,何嗟行路難?」進J36nB369_p0927a14曰:「可謂一句截流,萬機寢削。」師曰:「切莫草草。」僧禮拜,J36nB369_p0927a15師便打。陶長文問:「十五日前用鉤,十五日後用錐,正J36nB369_p0927a16當十五日,請和尚道一句。」師曰:「少頃請居士喫茶。」乃J36nB369_p0927a17曰:「冬月坐禪,先佛遺制,故天下知識坐寶王剎者,此J36nB369_p0927a18日大開東閣,盛設法筵,賢主雍雍,嘉賓楚楚,喫了清J36nB369_p0927a19水白米飯,更飲甘香蘭雪茶,瞬目是向上全提,揚眉J36nB369_p0927a20闡西來祖意,門庭浩浩亦大哉!曹山堂舍陜隘,諸事J36nB369_p0927a21麤疏,自來團聚一班[虛*元]𠿻人物,高處不肯攀,低處不J36nB369_p0927a22肯就,心裏平平穩穩,各各自謂有個恰好底道理,無J36nB369_p0927a23敢移易他一絲毫許。所以山僧隱遯過時,隨緣度日,J36nB369_p0927a24卻被傍人抑逼將來,只得拆東籬補西壁,以培嶁作J36nB369_p0927a25高山,而欲汝等更上一層,乃見宇宙之寬廣,因有頭J36nB369_p0927a26角崢嶸者,千般獻巧,萬態誇奇,也須向草窩裏輥出J36nB369_p0927a27幾身白汗,然後到山僧根前與你道個不是不是。何J36nB369_p0927a28謂?劫壺空處乾坤別,陶謝風醇日月長。」
J36nB369_p0927a29結制,小參。「無能為法,殘山甘守鈍之愚;閒適有餘,村J36nB369_p0927a30畝竊耕雲之樂。四時遊客,不辨西東;喜者任讚,怒者J36nB369_p0927b01由毀。一缽高人,無分遠近;有志則留,無心則去。無為J36nB369_p0927b02而無不為,事事準的;不說而無不說,法法全彰。所以,J36nB369_p0927b03諸佛于此間咸稱自在,列祖到者裏俱悅現成。同一J36nB369_p0927b04機用,離正離偏;共一境照,忘賓忘主。已是平地起堆、J36nB369_p0927b05空中畫彩。更欲勞心苦志,剋日定時,霜清面皮,鐵硬J36nB369_p0927b06脊骨,究竟己躬大事因緣。譬如長者諸子,志意下劣,J36nB369_p0927b07不信是父有大家業,乞食貧里,流落窮途,是為可鄙,J36nB369_p0927b08何堪持論?秖如龍門高啟,依然涓滴不遺;十方聚首,J36nB369_p0927b09不礙塵沙剎土。者裏著得隻眼,可謂坐致太平,無拘J36nB369_p0927b10無束。其或別有商量,切莫喚晝作夜。喝!」
J36nB369_p0927b11上堂。「達磨與神光安心,馬祖謂即心即佛。又有古宿J36nB369_p0927b12道:『尋牛須訪跡,學道貴無心。』者些古錐,說心說性、說J36nB369_p0927b13有說無,惑亂人不少。曹山無許多事,自有真實相為J36nB369_p0927b14處。若承當得,可以丹霄獨步,慶快生平。大眾!要知真J36nB369_p0927b15實相為處麼?」乃擲拄杖,下座。
J36nB369_p0927b16上堂。「朝來日色溫和,夜間天氣寒冷。燈籠露柱商量,J36nB369_p0927b17瞌睡漢如何不醒?」高聲喚眾,眾舉首。師曰:「明眼人落J36nB369_p0927b18井。」
J36nB369_p0927b19上堂。舉:「臺山婆子因僧問:『臺山路向甚處去?』婆曰:『驀J36nB369_p0927b20直去。』僧便行,婆曰:『好個師僧,又恁麼去也。』僧舉似趙J36nB369_p0927b21州,州曰:『待老僧勘破伊。』亦問:『臺山路向甚處去?』婆曰:J36nB369_p0927b22『驀直去。』州便行,婆曰:『好個師僧,又恁麼去也。』州歸,示J36nB369_p0927b23眾曰:『臺山婆子,我為汝勘破了也。』」師曰:「臺山一條坦J36nB369_p0927b24蕩之路,遊歷往來不可勝數,無一人不受伊稽查抑J36nB369_p0927b25逼,咸商客販夫莫以為意,獨趙州抗步劫前、軒眉霞J36nB369_p0927b26外,然未免向婆子門前鷹頭鶻腦,終非堂堂之敵,拄J36nB369_p0927b27杖子豈肯放過?大眾!若知得趙州步驟,則不被人關J36nB369_p0927b28防管轄,如或上或下、可南可北,前面去大有人勘破J36nB369_p0927b29你在。」
J36nB369_p0927b30上堂。舉:「石頭遷禪師因僧問:『如何是禪?』頭曰:『㼾磚。』又J36nB369_p0927c01問:『如何是道?』頭曰:『木頭。』」師曰:「石頭老祖吐稱心,談說J36nB369_p0927c02無味話。從古到今,不知驚動多少人。盤錯交加,究竟J36nB369_p0927c03不能詰其根源。若有問曹山:『如何是禪?』『玉琢麒麟水J36nB369_p0927c04底眠。』『如何是道?』『紙糊鷂子空中叫。』且道石頭底是?曹J36nB369_p0927c05山底是?有人分疏得下,步步踏著實地,事事徹見根J36nB369_p0927c06源。如曰不然。」豎拂子曰:「來哲可鑑。」
J36nB369_p0927c07上堂。「門對遠山青,閒看流水綠,谿邊石女歌,不是尋J36nB369_p0927c08常曲。既不是尋常曲,且道是何格調?若是其中人,具J36nB369_p0927c09向上眼,終日喫飯不嚼粒米、終日穿衣不挂寸絲,影J36nB369_p0927c10現身雲、瀾翻口海,便能移宮換羽、響激驚群,登峰嘯J36nB369_p0927c11月、坐地豪吟,頭頭露空劫已前面目,上可以媲美先J36nB369_p0927c12覺、下可以獎掖後昆,於一切時、一切處,恁麼也是、不J36nB369_p0927c13恁麼也是,恁麼中不恁麼也是、不恁麼中恁麼也是。J36nB369_p0927c14其或倦思臥、渴須茶,前村遠、後路賒,敲門試問葛洪J36nB369_p0927c15家。」
J36nB369_p0927c16上堂。「看子湖狗,似覺勞心;弄雪峰蛇,終為費手。賣曹J36nB369_p0927c17山死貓頭,無人敢說價;販鎮州大蘿蔔,近時不直錢。J36nB369_p0927c18室中高臥,卻言信息難通;量外酬機,猶道水泥太煞。J36nB369_p0927c19山僧今夜要與諸人相見,以何為驗」?良久,顧眾曰:「仲J36nB369_p0927c20尼溫伯雪,傾蓋成相知。」
J36nB369_p0927c21商門淨珺請上堂。「雪嶺老瞿曇從始至終將法付法,J36nB369_p0927c22面壁胡達磨自西徂東以心印心,疑誤後人,謂成就J36nB369_p0927c23無量劫來莫大之事,所以唱者成群、和者作隊,擎夢J36nB369_p0927c24裏空拳、撮空中閃電,為黑夜燈燭、照曠道昏迷,看來J36nB369_p0927c25像三家村裏老學究教稚小頑童讀上大人相似,成J36nB369_p0927c26何模樣?曹山總不用其韜略,若欲繁衍家猷,有八萬J36nB369_p0927c27四千陀羅尼門一時開演,自肯深信,隨汝詳擇其可J36nB369_p0927c28入者。」拈拂子一吹,曰:「摩尼果中如是說。」
J36nB369_p0927c29石門悟禪為徒出關,請上堂。「特櫂語谿船,遠跨錢江J36nB369_p0927c30水,不辭霜露寒,求說一句子。應知此一句子,方圓任J36nB369_p0928a01器,長短隨宜,包天地非為大、混微塵不謂小,佛祖難J36nB369_p0928a02尋縫罅、人天莫辨端倪。山僧到者裏也加一毫文彩J36nB369_p0928a03不得,除是出格道流,照物眼正,淆訛任他淆訛,判斷J36nB369_p0928a04由我判斷。即此離此,破涉世之藩籬;無住而住,樹箴J36nB369_p0928a05時之標的。自然祖師關、生死關應時豁開,曹溪路、石J36nB369_p0928a06頭路蹙踏無礙,不妨南山油然作雲、北山霈然下雨,J36nB369_p0928a07如水上捺葫蘆,旋轉圓活,豈肯守在一隅?今以多種J36nB369_p0928a08方便,已將此句搓圓捏扁,精分細縷,撒向諸人懷裏J36nB369_p0928a09了也。大眾!且道是甚麼句?伶俜遊子還故鄉,其樂陶J36nB369_p0928a10陶安可比?」
J36nB369_p0928a11長至,上堂。「語無二種,事無一向。陰極陽生,大來小往。J36nB369_p0928a12猛虎鑽入鬧市,鯉魚跳出高山。荊棘林不妨轉步,平J36nB369_p0928a13坦地正好移身。森羅萬象,提本分鉗錘;土宿泥蟠,碎J36nB369_p0928a14情解窠窟。三家村裏醉翁,全彰大用;十字街頭浪子,J36nB369_p0928a15賣盡風流。卻憶當時達磨與梁武帝相見,意不相合,J36nB369_p0928a16口悱悱、心憤憤。山僧思量,忍俊不禁,直得呵呵大笑。J36nB369_p0928a17且道笑個甚麼?我笑達磨梯山航海而來,不能以一J36nB369_p0928a18言悟主,惶恐殺人。今日若有進得一策,不但與達磨J36nB369_p0928a19雪憤聲冤,亦見天無言,四時行;地無言,百物生。增一J36nB369_p0928a20些不得,減一些不得。是汝諸仁還有借籌而畫者麼?」J36nB369_p0928a21卓拄杖,「迪一人,使四方如卜筮。」
J36nB369_p0928a22復舉:「僧問長慶:『如何是合聖之言?』慶曰:『老僧被闍黎J36nB369_p0928a23一問,直得口似扁擔。』」師曰:「長慶恁麼應機,雖謂不矜J36nB369_p0928a24不伐,其奈法海中茫無津梁。設有問曹山:『如何是合J36nB369_p0928a25聖之言?』但對他道:『史筆書雲徵有信,氣蒸葭管動飛J36nB369_p0928a26灰。』」
J36nB369_p0928a27上堂。舉:「南泉因僧問:『父母未生前,鼻孔在甚麼處?』泉J36nB369_p0928a28曰:『父母已生後,鼻孔在甚麼處?』」師曰:「南泉朗天表日J36nB369_p0928a29月,者僧惜寰中風雨,且一狀領過。父母未生前已生J36nB369_p0928a30後,不必繁言。汝諸仁各各有箇鼻孔,摸得著底,通個J36nB369_p0928b01消息來。」良久:「山老樵歌遠,松高鶴夢長。」
J36nB369_p0928b02俞伯英請上堂。舉:「陸亙大夫謂南泉曰:『肇法師也大J36nB369_p0928b03奇解道:天地與我同根,萬物與我一體。』泉指牡丹召J36nB369_p0928b04大夫曰:『時人見此一株花如夢相似。』」師曰:「陸大夫觸J36nB369_p0928b05事興懷,文人雅思;王老師白日昭昭,愛說夢話。最好J36nB369_p0928b06一株花離披狼藉,從古以來無人料理,是為可惜。爭J36nB369_p0928b07如今日俞伯英居士特詣山頭,也不誇尼山禮、易、詩、J36nB369_p0928b08書,也不問竺土偏、圓、頓、漸,惟以家田米辦清淨飯,不J36nB369_p0928b09管細嚼麤餐,秖向稠人廣眾之中要覓個知味者,心J36nB369_p0928b10如墻壁、跡似風輪,眉橫眼上、鼻在口邊,各安其位、不J36nB369_p0928b11亂其常,願已畢矣,致令陸大夫、王老師在背後拊掌J36nB369_p0928b12稱讚曰:『善哉,善哉!此是高遠曠達之見,吾何可比例?』J36nB369_p0928b13設到曹山門下,還要勘其力量果大,然後以千斤擔J36nB369_p0928b14子放在他肩上,不知大眾如何相許?」卓拄杖,「須知歲J36nB369_p0928b15寒操,惟有古松枝。」
J36nB369_p0928b16上堂。「鳥窠吹布毛,侍者便悟去。」拈起拄杖曰:「拄杖子J36nB369_p0928b17隨根隨時,如應而說。汝諸人作麼生承當?」遂以拄杖J36nB369_p0928b18打趁。
J36nB369_p0928b19晚參。舉:「真歇了和尚上堂:『道得第一句,不被拄杖子J36nB369_p0928b20謾。識得拄杖子,猶是途路中事。作麼生是到地頭一J36nB369_p0928b21句?』」師曰:「歇祖恁麼道,觀機逗教,應病與藥。曹山要且J36nB369_p0928b22不然,道得第一句,卻被拄杖子謾。識得拄杖子,正是J36nB369_p0928b23千里萬里。如何是到頭一句?此去紹興城不遠。」
J36nB369_p0928b24上堂。「一九二九,相喚不出手。山僧冷暖,山僧自知。諸J36nB369_p0928b25人好惡,諸人自剖。秖如眼耳鼻舌身意,擯卻色聲香J36nB369_p0928b26味觸法。有過咎?無過咎?」良久:「且放過一著。」
J36nB369_p0928b27空明菴兆君靈木請上堂。橫按拄杖,曰:「秖者箇挺特J36nB369_p0928b28不群,剛大難並,具清淨海眼,有不思議手,碎聖凡窠J36nB369_p0928b29臼,總一玅門,攝無邊世界,歸一剎境,擊靈樹開劫外J36nB369_p0928b30之花,剪稠林示正中之路,所以深淺隨宜,高下共適。J36nB369_p0928c01朕垂未分時,卻也通身顯現;君臣道合處,依然文彩J36nB369_p0928c02不彰。其奈有時橫古路鐵蛇踏著底,從古難逢;有時J36nB369_p0928c03為翀霄彩鳳睹見者,至今罕遇。既要佛種不斷,須得J36nB369_p0928c04現無盡身雲,以廣長舌出妙音聲,充遍十方,令情無J36nB369_p0928c05情等自然明達,不由他悟。」拈拄杖,空中旋轉,乃擲下,J36nB369_p0928c06曰:「大眾!換卻匙箸。拈缽盂,赴堂喫齋。」
J36nB369_p0928c07上堂。「釋迦為大事因緣故,出現于世,渾身泥水總堪J36nB369_p0928c08愁。達磨欲覓大乘根器,自遠而來,抗步風塵終是癖。J36nB369_p0928c09曹山有個施為恰好句,有道得底,可謂同心,斯焉把J36nB369_p0928c10臂。」良久,曰:「諸人既不靈利,且教拄杖子出來道看。」驀J36nB369_p0928c11拈拄杖打一僧,曰:「分明記取。」
J36nB369_p0928c12大慶谷虛靜主、祖機監院同請上堂。「從上的的相承J36nB369_p0928c13底事,曾無畦畔分疆,不以西東列界。惟有志者,心量J36nB369_p0928c14廣大等虛空,肝膽皎潔如白月。變化千奇,玲瓏八面。J36nB369_p0928c15心相體信,出入無難。自然臨事不落偏枯,應機不昧J36nB369_p0928c16終始。行一令百谷朝宗,說一言千山仰止。不獨峻厥J36nB369_p0928c17家聲,亦能綿延祖胄。其或堅執未融,怠慵飄忽,日月J36nB369_p0928c18逝于上,顏貌改于下,斯抱道高流之所深慮,安得到J36nB369_p0928c19大慶快時節?我道要得慶快,有甚麼難?」喝曰:「菩薩聞J36nB369_p0928c20此音,其心大歡喜。」
J36nB369_p0928c21上堂。「冬行春令,寒暑不正,此為世上常談。舍妄從真,J36nB369_p0928c22契證無因,斯為法中大病。縱使中道勿居,猶是隨聲J36nB369_p0928c23逐色。離卻中道二邊,且向甚麼處著?黑膝崑崙踏雪J36nB369_p0928c24行。」
J36nB369_p0928c25上堂。良久,喚一僧,僧出禮拜。師曰:「聞聲見色尋常事,J36nB369_p0928c26切莫逢人說短長。」下座。
J36nB369_p0928c27上堂。豎拂子曰:「恁麼者,相識不須多語。不恁麼者,一J36nB369_p0928c28雄可當萬夫。設使恁麼時卻不恁麼,不恁麼時卻恁J36nB369_p0928c29麼,彼此不分,迥超向背,猶被虛空開口笑。郢曲自來J36nB369_p0928c30白雪多,熨斗煎茶不同銚。」擲拂子。
J36nB369_p0929a01晚參。舉:「黃檗示眾曰:『汝等盡是噇酒糟漢,與麼行腳J36nB369_p0929a02何處有今日?還知大唐國裏無禪師麼?』時有僧曰:『只J36nB369_p0929a03如諸方匡徒領眾又作麼生?』檗曰:『不道無禪,只是無J36nB369_p0929a04師。』」師曰:「阿順以為榮,拂逆以為患,事固常情,此則因J36nB369_p0929a05緣,實是難辨。從古以來,判斷者多,盡是噇飽酒糟,酩J36nB369_p0929a06酊過日。且道黃檗恁麼道,為復阿人之意耶?拂人之J36nB369_p0929a07心耶?有辨得的,許他有參學眼。」拈拄杖曰:「辨得辨不J36nB369_p0929a08得,有殺有活,不可作野狐精見解。」
J36nB369_p0929a09餘姚檀越誕辰,請上堂。「須彌山高大,未足為高;香水J36nB369_p0929a10海深廣,豈得曰深?」豎拂子,曰:「惟有此個法門,窮之莫J36nB369_p0929a11竟其巔、探之罔測其底,果是信心廣大者深入其中,J36nB369_p0929a12便好改禾莖為粟柄、以小壽為長年,一切世界因他J36nB369_p0929a13建立、一切功德依此圓成,處處顯本有家風、頭頭是J36nB369_p0929a14通方活路,七縱八橫,隨流得妙。然今日檀越生辰,自J36nB369_p0929a15姚江而到曹山,要向曲彔木上如法讚頌,更說個甚J36nB369_p0929a16麼可以隨順機宜?」良久,「木雞夜半啼雲麓,芻狗天明J36nB369_p0929a17吠遠村。」
J36nB369_p0929a18請上堂。「夜吟茅店月,曉踏板橋霜,於本分事未得徹J36nB369_p0929a19頭徹尾、不明不暗,終是孤負己靈。直饒真正道流,利J36nB369_p0929a20劍其牙、血盆其口,一日三餐粒粒咬破,不取一物、不J36nB369_p0929a21捨一塵,忽然境風藉起、識海騰波,在生死岸頭視沉J36nB369_p0929a22若浮,有甚麼氣息?山僧向來口門緊閉、滲漏全無,茲J36nB369_p0929a23以因齋慶讚為說佛慧,故今正是其時。」豎拂子,曰:「釋J36nB369_p0929a24迦老子來也,還見麼?」擊一下,曰:「水窮山盡逢來客,鴻J36nB369_p0929a25雁歸時免寄書。」
J36nB369_p0929a26上堂。「階前雨滴聲,窗中紅日影。此句最相應,不但無J36nB369_p0929a27人省,三世諸佛劈不零星,歷代祖師捏不成餅。山僧J36nB369_p0929a28可作傳語人,不敢輕于汝等。梅花竹裏暗生香,漁父J36nB369_p0929a29蘆灣移夜艇。」卓拄杖曰:「領。」
J36nB369_p0929a30解制,上堂。「拭去缽囊塵,穿起草鞋鼻,跨霄漢以低昂,J36nB369_p0929b01任西東而出沒。放行無位真人,開眼不覺曉;坐斷空J36nB369_p0929b02劫自己,不臥萬年床。靜時凡不能尋、聖不能覓,動則J36nB369_p0929b03神駒逐日、妙翅搏風。自己有如是威光不能運轉,靠J36nB369_p0929b04著蒲團做長夜大夢,喫飽粥飯說太平清話,蝸牛角J36nB369_p0929b05上論世界廣狹,蚊蚋眉間較尺寸短長,只嫌山僧吝J36nB369_p0929b06惜家私,不容假借。既到此個時節,敢不傾心分付?」欬J36nB369_p0929b07嗽一聲,曰:「秖者些兒抵萬金。」
J36nB369_p0929b08華嚴期俞伯英請上堂。「欲知佛性義,當觀時節因緣,J36nB369_p0929b09時節若至,其理自彰。所以金風清四野炎氛,玉露爽J36nB369_p0929b10三秋天氣。寒碪流韻萬家,丹桂飄香滿路。可謂時節J36nB369_p0929b11已至,妙理全彰。能向此個時節大開正眼、洞徹真元,J36nB369_p0929b12者邊那邊自應獨步、是處非處信是無雙,快斯文而J36nB369_p0929b13璀璨,培慧脈于靈長。如是則未登普光明殿,古佛本J36nB369_p0929b14懷已暢;不遊煙水百城,當人功行早圓。心中有何疑J36nB369_p0929b15義,而不冰消瓦解。雖然,契證則不無,要得淋漓放曠,J36nB369_p0929b16兩不相傷。更聽山僧授記。」乃顧左右曰:「汝等有智者,J36nB369_p0929b17勿於此生疑。」
