J36nB359_p0674c05住嘉定古昭慶寺,示眾。「春光已去夏初臨,綠暗紅稀J36nB359_p0674c06匝地陰,夜雨滴開頑石眼,幽禽啼破落花心。頭頭獨J36nB359_p0674c07露真三昧,處處恒談不二音,若擬箇中玄會得,依然J36nB359_p0674c08猶是隔千岑。大眾!既是會得,為甚麼猶隔千岑?莫有J36nB359_p0674c09跳出重關者麼?出來試道看。」
J36nB359_p0674c10示眾。「雲門餅,趙州茶,覿面拈來驗作家,若是飽參禪J36nB359_p0674c11和子,須知別有好生涯。生涯別,有誰徹?問取中天一J36nB359_p0674c12輪月,燈籠拍手笑呵呵,露柱低頭哭未歇。燈籠笑且J36nB359_p0674c13置,未審露柱哭箇甚麼?」眾無語,師云:「蒼天,蒼天。」
J36nB359_p0674c14戒期,示眾。「乍雨乍晴麥正秋,薰風暗度柳梢頭,許多J36nB359_p0674c15好景無人會,空使殘紅滿地愁。不須愁,急抬眸,看取J36nB359_p0674c16青山水上浮。」拈尺,云:「見麼?非來、非去、非今,即戒、即定、J36nB359_p0674c17即慧,磨而不磷、涅而不淄,百千法門、無量玅用總在J36nB359_p0674c18裏許,直饒說箇止持作犯、輕重開遮,三千威儀、八萬J36nB359_p0674c19細行,亦是陞高步遠之方便。如何是不假方便,迥超J36nB359_p0674c20階級?」撫尺,云:「蹋破鐵鞋無覓處,得來全不費工夫。」
J36nB359_p0674c21住青龍隆福寺,示眾。「昔雲居云:『爾等直饒學得佛邊J36nB359_p0674c22事,早是錯用心了也。何況從朝至夕,妄想紛飛,雜念J36nB359_p0674c23攪擾,無明煩惱,人我是非?』近來有等見人之貢高,不J36nB359_p0674c24知自己之貢高;見人之長短,不知自己之長短。蓋謂J36nB359_p0674c25明於責人,昧於責己。若是真正衲子,自識好惡,眼不J36nB359_p0674c26被色惑,耳不被聲誘,鼻不為香塞,舌不被味瞞,身不J36nB359_p0674c27被觸惱,意不被法亂,百花叢裏過,一葉不沾身。上古J36nB359_p0674c28為道之士,廢寢忘餐,不惜身命,釋迦捨全身而求半J36nB359_p0674c29偈,神光斷一臂以乞安心,浮山遠、天衣懷,不以撒灰J36nB359_p0674c30潑水而動其離師之念。如上俱載方冊,茲不繁引。今J36nB359_p0675a01時行腳,若遇惡辣鉗錘本分宗師,便云:難為人事,與J36nB359_p0675a02我無緣,不如他去。或撞儱侗長老,菽麥不分,雌雄不J36nB359_p0675a03辨,即謂有些子慈悲方便,打哄過日,虛消信施。如此J36nB359_p0675a04參學,有何利益?不見玄沙道:『縱似澂潭月影,靜夜鐘J36nB359_p0675a05聲,隨扣擊以無虧,觸波瀾而不散,猶是生死岸頭事。』J36nB359_p0675a06到此必須忘名利,無人我,大死一番,始於箇事稍有J36nB359_p0675a07相應分。不然,皆是錯用心。如何得不錯用心?」良久,云:J36nB359_p0675a08「不起一念修學心,無相光中常自在。」
J36nB359_p0675a09示眾。「若論此事,直饒萬里無片雲,青天也須喫棒,不J36nB359_p0675a10容低眉側耳,安用進前退後?青龍不得已,聊露一線,J36nB359_p0675a11如能搆得,一任入廛垂手,接物利生;不然,直須坐斷J36nB359_p0675a12兩頭,中間放下,掀翻世網,打徹情關,在天堂不為樂、J36nB359_p0675a13處地獄不為苦,雖在世間而常行出世問事、行出世J36nB359_p0675a14間事而不離世間、教化眾生而無一眾生可化、雖則J36nB359_p0675a15淨佛國土而無一國土可淨,然後吹劫火、吸風輪,一J36nB359_p0675a16為無量、無量為一,於一微塵包裹十虛,正眼看來大J36nB359_p0675a17似隔靴搔痒,猶未親得受用在。大眾!如何是親得受J36nB359_p0675a18用的事?」良久,云:「井底螺螄吞大象。」
J36nB359_p0675a19住弁山龍華寺,示眾。「夫道絕方所,非趣向之所能到;J36nB359_p0675a20禪離視聽,非耳目之所能及。晃晃焉迥出思議之表,J36nB359_p0675a21歷歷然永超是非之端,直饒荊軻、聶政莫能施其勇,J36nB359_p0675a22烏獲、孟賁不能加其力,苟能直下承當,始知本來是J36nB359_p0675a23佛。是以洞山睹水影而悟徹,太原孚聞鼓聲而了明,J36nB359_p0675a24靈雲見桃、香嚴擊竹,莫不於六根門頭了此一段大J36nB359_p0675a25事。然此大事,不拘賢愚不肖、蠢動含靈,無所欠少,若J36nB359_p0675a26是箇決烈漢子,只教一念無為、千差坐斷,不須結制J36nB359_p0675a27而一期圓滿,勿勞斂念而萬行具足。其或未然,以今J36nB359_p0675a28日為始,發大精進、奮大勇猛,不顧危亡、不計年月,以J36nB359_p0675a29悟為期,儻或一旦豁然,始知本來現成,可以報父母J36nB359_p0675a30養育之恩、可以酬師長提攜之德,豈不慶快平生?若J36nB359_p0675b01也遲疑,山僧曾記雲門師翁有一偈,今晚拈出舉似J36nB359_p0675b02諸兄:挺起脊梁生鐵鑄,放下面皮莫回顧,猶如香象J36nB359_p0675b03脫金鎖,若不如是何劫悟?」
J36nB359_p0675b04示眾。「九層之臺,起於壘土;千里之行,在於初步。今晚J36nB359_p0675b05是結制之初,不拘堂內、堂外,務要箇箇起大精進、發J36nB359_p0675b06大勇猛、憤大信力、立大勢願,痛念生死,徹法源底,直J36nB359_p0675b07至於不疑之地而後已。或在諸方學得尖新語句、巧J36nB359_p0675b08玅知見,乃至賓主玄要句、偏正回互句、有句無句、是J36nB359_p0675b09句非句、死句活句、一百八句,盡情收來,束作一團,拋J36nB359_p0675b10向太湖波底,更莫回顧,打掃得胸中乾乾淨淨、虛虛J36nB359_p0675b11廓廓,然後提起箇本參話頭,如秉吹毛寶劍相似,佛J36nB359_p0675b12來也揮、魔來也揮,只教心心無間、念念無虧,纖塵不J36nB359_p0675b13立、前後際斷,此是放身命處、此是罷參處,尤不可認J36nB359_p0675b14著一機一境、一拳一喝以當平生,須知有古人無量J36nB359_p0675b15差別因緣、無邊差別門庭一一透過始得。所以,釋迦J36nB359_p0675b16老子從無量劫來難行能行、難忍能忍,乃至三千大J36nB359_p0675b17千世界無有芥子許不是捨身命處,是以福足、慧足,J36nB359_p0675b18故云兩足尊也。大眾!如是行到、如是見到,則不負梯J36nB359_p0675b19山航海、尋師擇友一片苦心,堪報不報之恩、共助無J36nB359_p0675b20為之化。珍重。」
J36nB359_p0675b21示眾。「古人道:『祖師西來,只是要覓一箇不受惑的人。』J36nB359_p0675b22者般說話,早已剖腹剜心,傾腸倒肺,只要諸人當面J36nB359_p0675b23會取,不須他求。何也?你欲求佛求祖,則被佛祖所惑;J36nB359_p0675b24窮玄體玅,則被玄玅所惑;至於菩薩,被六度萬行所J36nB359_p0675b25惑;緣覺、聲聞,被十二因緣、四諦所惑;天、人、阿修羅,被J36nB359_p0675b26福報瞋恚所惑;地獄三途,被苦惱業障所惑。所謂貪J36nB359_p0675b27他一粒米,失卻半年糧是也。有等人纔聞與麼道,即J36nB359_p0675b28便經也不看,佛也不禮,行也不行,福也不作,話頭也J36nB359_p0675b29不參,一味死堆堆地,謂之一切不著。若恁麼,縱是佛J36nB359_p0675b30祖,也惑亂不動我。殊不知,不是者箇道理,早已錯會J36nB359_p0675c01了也。大眾!畢竟如何是不受惑的人?」良久,云:「相逢目J36nB359_p0675c02說三分話,未可全拋一片心。」
J36nB359_p0675c03至天醫禪院,請示眾。「昔年曾向此中過,今日重逢話J36nB359_p0675c04更多,欲識目前端的意,數株古柏挂煙蘿。大眾!還會J36nB359_p0675c05麼?果是頂門具眼、腦後見腮的,自然未舉先知、未言J36nB359_p0675c06已曉;儻是箇[目*麻][目*麻]瞇瞇、懵懵懂懂的,只得從頭註破。J36nB359_p0675c07此天醫蘭若,山僧昔年曾到,紺宇巍峨,僧眾濟濟,誠J36nB359_p0675c08為湖城一梵剎也。自兵燹之後,雲廚傾頹,清眾寥落,J36nB359_p0675c09雖則廢之有時,實乃興之在人。古云:『為眾如為己身,J36nB359_p0675c10彼此事辦;情念若同道念,成佛久矣。』為己者,貪圖口J36nB359_p0675c11腹,滋養四大,為子孫計是也;為眾者,綱維內外,黼黻J36nB359_p0675c12叢林,接待往來,招賢納眾是也;情念者,日營於聲色J36nB359_p0675c13貨利,時逐於妻財子祿,不知厭足,孳孳於念是也;道J36nB359_p0675c14念者,痛念生死,回心向道,悲佛法之難期,惜光陰之J36nB359_p0675c15迅速,紹隆正宗,續佛慧命是也。大眾!若將為己反於J36nB359_p0675c16為眾之切,情念移於道念之中,如是則無事不辦、無J36nB359_p0675c17願不遂,何患法門之不興、道業之不成?」豎拂,云:「只如J36nB359_p0675c18者箇,還是情念耶?道念耶?劍為不平離寶匣,藥因救J36nB359_p0675c19病出金瓶。」
J36nB359_p0675c20示眾。「十方世界諸眾生,念念皆證善逝果,彼既丈夫J36nB359_p0675c21我亦爾,何得自輕而退屈?此事人人本具、箇箇不無,J36nB359_p0675c22良由一切眾生隨境飄流、迷己逐物,所以聞不出聲、J36nB359_p0675c23見不越色,處處牽纏、時時罣礙,又如春蠶作繭自縈J36nB359_p0675c24自縛、秋蛾赴火自燒自爛,皆是自生輕賤、自生退屈。J36nB359_p0675c25若是夙有靈骨,一聞此說,直下擺脫塵勞、掀翻世網,J36nB359_p0675c26一念無為、十方坐斷,孤迥迥、峭巍巍、淨裸裸、赤灑灑,J36nB359_p0675c27隨處逍遙、任運放曠,富不為樂、貧不為憂,貴不為榮、J36nB359_p0675c28賤不為辱,人我是非不能動其心、好惡長短不為奪J36nB359_p0675c29其志,達則兼濟天下、不達則獨善其身,彼既丈夫我J36nB359_p0675c30亦爾,何差別之有?雖然,猶是途路中事。大眾還知到J36nB359_p0676a01家受用處麼?霜月雲開千戶曉,木樨風送滿城香。」
J36nB359_p0676a02示眾。舉:「洞山云:『堪歎今時學道流,千千萬萬認門頭,J36nB359_p0676a03恰似入京朝帝主,祇到潼關即便休。』古人與麼道,大J36nB359_p0676a04似胸納須彌、眼空四海,但知有己,不知有人。弁山也J36nB359_p0676a05有四句,不唯與洞山相見,亦要與諸人出氣。堪羨滿J36nB359_p0676a06堂學道流,英雄怎肯認門頭?玄途鳥道俱掀卻,北斗J36nB359_p0676a07藏身笑不休。」喝一喝,云:「還有不甘者麼?」問:「格外提持J36nB359_p0676a08即不問,如何是堂奧中事?」師云:「言前無的旨,句後絕J36nB359_p0676a09追尋。」進云:「既是鴛鴦繡出從君看,因甚不把金鍼度J36nB359_p0676a10與人?」師云:「當陽未得機先手,恐向人前亂舉揚。」僧一J36nB359_p0676a11喝,師直打出。
J36nB359_p0676a12除夕,示眾。「昔北禪烹露地白牛,唱村田樂,與眾分歲。J36nB359_p0676a13弁山亦無露地白牛可烹,亦無村田樂可唱,今晚聊J36nB359_p0676a14請幾位無情上座為諸人發明現前一著子。大眾會J36nB359_p0676a15麼?龍岡蜿蜒,奔騰起伏,有時斂爪藏牙,拏雲攫霧;獅J36nB359_p0676a16崖磊落,氣勢稜層,風生則哮吼驚人,日出則繡毬輥J36nB359_p0676a17地;寶珠池澂澂湛湛,觸目生輝,夜浸滿天之星斗,朝J36nB359_p0676a18映花裏之樓臺,離婁莫能窺,罔象安可得?花石澗玲J36nB359_p0676a19玲瓏瓏,涵光燦麗,波翻爛熳之春,魚戲萍藻之影,王J36nB359_p0676a20維徒羨其巧,僧繇莫加其工,牧唱樵歌於天井嶺上,J36nB359_p0676a21鳥啼花發於嘯月臺邊,象王峰斂鼻高眠,彌勒峰披J36nB359_p0676a22襟默坐,松竹風敲時戛笙簧之韻,雲霞曉散空懸錦J36nB359_p0676a23繡之圖,物物闡明向上,頭頭揭示全提,於斯會得,一J36nB359_p0676a24任痛飲曹山酒、饑餐雲門餅,可謂無來無去、無故無J36nB359_p0676a25新,自昔至今未曾動著。雖不曾動著,又不妨應箇時J36nB359_p0676a26節。大眾且道:是甚麼時節?燭燦金花爐篆煙,團圞共J36nB359_p0676a27話興忘眠,今宵莫當尋常過,彈指韶光又一年。」
J36nB359_p0676a28住大能仁寺入院,當晚示眾。「學道先須有悟由,還如J36nB359_p0676a29爭鬥快龍舟。雖然舊閣閑田地,一度贏來方始休。諸J36nB359_p0676a30禪德!只如者片田地,自從威音那畔以至今日,本自J36nB359_p0676b01圓成,了無欠缺。蓋緣此事不明,爭人競我,說是論非,J36nB359_p0676b02妄立疆界,不惟荒了田園,亦乃失卻祖券。能仁今晚J36nB359_p0676b03要與諸人拆去藩籬,不留牆塹,都盧共為一箇大圓J36nB359_p0676b04覺伽藍,使一切人經行坐臥、喫飯穿衣、迎賓待客、周J36nB359_p0676b05旋動容總在裏許,了無爾我之跡,安有彼此之情?如J36nB359_p0676b06大能仁相似,昔年失人,廢為俗舍;今日得人,頃作叢J36nB359_p0676b07林。所謂消長有數,克復在人。誠能如是,非獨自己道J36nB359_p0676b08業成辦,且不負德公長者、無量老宿一番捐金之誠、J36nB359_p0676b09肯綮之力。諸禪德!且道如何是安家立業一句?相交J36nB359_p0676b10若似初相識,到老終無怨恨心。珍重!」
J36nB359_p0676b11住雲門顯聖寺,收稻畢,示眾。「者一著子正如種稻相J36nB359_p0676b12似,若也種子夾雜、人力怠惰,耕種不深、風雨不時,兼J36nB359_p0676b13之操三歇五、一暴十寒,非唯焦芽敗種,亦乃荒卻祖J36nB359_p0676b14父田園,正所謂空守荒田朢有收。若是成家立業漢J36nB359_p0676b15子,先要種子真實、工力勤健,耕也宜深、種也以時,鼓J36nB359_p0676b16之以雷霆、潤之以風雨,除其荒薉、耘其稊稗,然而未J36nB359_p0676b17有苗而不秀、秀而不實者矣。是以今日收穫到家,不J36nB359_p0676b18唯大眾饘粥有繼、倉廩生色,可謂工不浪施。昔百丈J36nB359_p0676b19展兩手而說大義、仰山插鍬而人數分明,地藏道:『任J36nB359_p0676b20他諸方商量浩浩地,不如我者裏種田博飯喫。』大眾!J36nB359_p0676b21只如種田博飯喫,還有為人處也無?」良久,云:「不是飽J36nB359_p0676b22參人不知。」
J36nB359_p0676b23住善權寺,起偃柏,示眾。「積代塵埋久,今朝特地開,理J36nB359_p0676b24彰時節至,臘盡喜春回。其偃也,雷輷電擊,雲行雨施,J36nB359_p0676b25蓋揭當陽之玅用;其起也,誅茅闢土,舞钁揮鍬,盡顯J36nB359_p0676b26格外之真機。如是,則昔日因地而倒亦未曾倒,今日J36nB359_p0676b27因地而起亦未曾起,可謂無倒、無起,無動、無靜,非故、J36nB359_p0676b28非新,非變、非遷,佛祖以之而退位,鬼神以之而潛蹤,J36nB359_p0676b29萬化隨施,百無禁忌。大眾且道:憑箇甚麼?」以钁頭鋤J36nB359_p0676b30地三下,云:「千年偃柏今朝起,萬古徽猷絕覆藏。」
小參
J36nB359_p0676c02住嘉定昭慶寺周護法薦室,請小參。「金風乍起,玉露J36nB359_p0676c03初垂,黃葉飄而真機露,白雲散而面目彰。性若虛空,J36nB359_p0676c04不生不滅;體似金剛,無變無異。本自圓成,不假莊嚴。J36nB359_p0676c05所以道:一念回光,即同本得。豈待獻珠而成佛、聞懺J36nB359_p0676c06以生天?直得渾忘尊貴,紅輪那墜於澂潭?不守功勳,J36nB359_p0676c07金鳳安棲於靈木?雖然,如何是超凡入聖一句?」擊拂,J36nB359_p0676c08云:「閨閣掀翻絕滲漏,金蓮隨處任徘徊。」
J36nB359_p0676c09洞庭山席啟兆薦考,請小參。「身從無相中受生,猶如J36nB359_p0676c10幻出諸形像,幻人心識本來無,罪福皆空無所住。」豎J36nB359_p0676c11拂,云:「今日過去古佛特為太僕少卿亞中大夫寧侯J36nB359_p0676c12席公現大神變、放大光明、轉大法輪、作大佛事,即將J36nB359_p0676c13娑婆世界山林、谿澗、溝壑、瓦礫、荊棘、坑坎、堆阜、便利、J36nB359_p0676c14不淨,一時變為金、銀、琉璃、硨磲、瑪瑙、珊瑚、琥珀、金繩J36nB359_p0676c15界道、金沙布地、七寶行樹、八功德水、寶網交羅、天樂J36nB359_p0676c16自響、鸚鵡、舍利、迦陵頻伽、白鶴、孔雀、情與無情一時J36nB359_p0676c17共演無生法忍。何謂無生法忍?不見一法生相、不見J36nB359_p0676c18一法滅相、不見一法去來相、不見空相、有相、煩惱相、J36nB359_p0676c19無明相、諸佛相、眾生相、菩提涅槃相,三際平等,一道J36nB359_p0676c20情虛。正恁麼時,直得盡虛空、遍法界都盧是箇當人J36nB359_p0676c21正體、自己光明,於中所有無量香水海、無量華藏界、J36nB359_p0676c22無量佛剎、無量樓閣、無量莊嚴、無量寶聚、無量眷屬J36nB359_p0676c23總在一毛孔中,一切毛孔亦復如是,所謂十世古今J36nB359_p0676c24始終不離於當念、無邊剎海自他不隔於毫端,然後J36nB359_p0676c25回觀三萬六千頃之浩渺、七十二峰頭之巍峨,又不J36nB359_p0676c26啻艸頭一滴、毛端一塵,於其廣狹、高低烏得較量?豈J36nB359_p0676c27不為奇特中奇特、殊勝中殊勝?雖然,須知更有轉身J36nB359_p0676c28一路始得。」揮拂,云:「斫卻月中桂,清光轉更多。」
J36nB359_p0676c29住青龍隆福寺,小參。「佛法祇在日用處、在迎賓待客J36nB359_p0676c30處、在喫茶喫飯處、在語言動問處、所作所為處,你纔J36nB359_p0677a01舉心動念又不是了也。古人恁麼慈悲與你分明說J36nB359_p0677a02破,你若於二六時中不起一念,自然常光現前,無一J36nB359_p0677a03絲毫遮障、無一絲毫蓋覆,盡大地無一處不是佛法,J36nB359_p0677a04豈待山僧鼓兩片皮方名說法?即今目前青松奏瑟、J36nB359_p0677a05修竹鳴絃、嫩柳抽絲、梅花吐玉,門外群峰露清淨之J36nB359_p0677a06法身、屋後流水舒廣長之舌相,以及樵歌牧唱、燕語J36nB359_p0677a07鶯啼、風柯月渚、牆壁瓦礫,情與無情共轉法輪,可謂J36nB359_p0677a08塵說、剎說、熾然說、無間歇。者裏一念瞥地,正好休去、J36nB359_p0677a09歇去、放身命去,有何禪道可學、工夫可做、佛可成?但J36nB359_p0677a10只隨緣放曠、任性自適,復有何事?雖然,正眼看來,猶J36nB359_p0677a11是那寒蟬抱枯木的活計,直須頭頭上了,物物上通,J36nB359_p0677a12只喚作了事的人,終不喚作尊貴,尊貴一路自別。是J36nB359_p0677a13以曹山立三種墮:一曰類墮,二曰隨墮,三曰尊貴墮。J36nB359_p0677a14何謂類墮?了卻那邊,還來者裏行履,雖作畜生行,不J36nB359_p0677a15行畜生事,故曰類墮。頌云:負鞍銜鐵久亡疲,拖水何J36nB359_p0677a16妨又帶泥?正恁麼時原不昧,青黃滿目卻云誰。何為J36nB359_p0677a17隨墮?了道人於一切時中超情離見,騎聲蓋色,不滯J36nB359_p0677a18一隅,故曰隨墮。頌云:闤闠堆頭好避秦,笙歌叢裏且J36nB359_p0677a19安身,了知聲色非聲色,聲色從來不礙人。何謂尊貴J36nB359_p0677a20墮?不居正位,寧守大功,取正命為食,故曰尊貴墮。頌J36nB359_p0677a21云:等閒慵坐黃金殿,那復低垂翡翠簾?六國遍遊人J36nB359_p0677a22不識,夜深倒著破藍衫。三墮且置,即今曹山卻在甚J36nB359_p0677a23麼處?」顧左右云:「看看。」擲拂子,歸方丈。
J36nB359_p0677a24吳太史建道場,請小參。「鐘鼓交參,大啟圓通之戶;香J36nB359_p0677a25雲繚繞,豁開華藏之門。左之、右之,全歸寶所;舉足、下J36nB359_p0677a26足,無非覺場。圓音落落而無窮,玅境重重而不盡。於J36nB359_p0677a27斯會得,不妨掉臂即行;若也未然,試看缽盂安柄。○J36nB359_p0677a28大眾!看看過去無量諸佛、現在無量諸佛、未來無量J36nB359_p0677a29諸佛,盡於此中一時出現,復有無量聲聞、羅漢、諸大J36nB359_p0677a30菩薩而為眷屬。爾時,諸佛各各坐寶蓮花,放大光明,J36nB359_p0677b01作大佛事,出廣長舌相,遍覆三千大千世界,異口同J36nB359_p0677b02音而作是言:『善男子!諦聽!今是吳護法發希有心,作J36nB359_p0677b03大佛事,冤親普利,幽顯均資,所獲功德不可思議、智J36nB359_p0677b04慧不可思議、莊嚴不可思議、眷屬不可思議、利益不J36nB359_p0677b05可思議,復有如是不可思議因緣,特來至此而作證J36nB359_p0677b06明。』說是語已,於彈指頃還歸本土。大眾!還見麼?還聞J36nB359_p0677b07麼?既見、既聞,現前有何祥瑞?」揮拂,云:「千指回環繞法J36nB359_p0677b08筵,真風覿面不勞宣,桂開地布黃金粟,蘆擁江飛白J36nB359_p0677b09雪天。五彩祥麟來日下,千年銀鶴舞庭前,今朝喜遇J36nB359_p0677b10清秋節,歌舞樓臺月正圓。」
J36nB359_p0677b11住弁山龍華寺,小參。「六門把定絕追攀,晝夜爐錘煉J36nB359_p0677b12聖凡,縱向箇中能透得,○須知更有者重關。結制不J36nB359_p0677b13覺七日,眾中有透關者麼?誠能來歷清楚、公驗分明,J36nB359_p0677b14一任掉臂而行;若是雞鳴狗盜妄通消息,不免罪犯J36nB359_p0677b15邏人之手。今日弁山不惜眉毛為眾協力,直得八字J36nB359_p0677b16打開,總教已過關者、未過關者一齊縱橫去也。大眾!J36nB359_p0677b17且道關在甚麼處?」拈拄杖一時打散。
J36nB359_p0677b18至平政院,請小參。「本是弁山山裏人,暫為寶筏堂中J36nB359_p0677b19客,清風明月兩悠悠,城市山林總不隔。隔不隔,擬議J36nB359_p0677b20重添眼裏屑。」豎拂,云:「諸仁者!者裏徹去,正好入廛垂J36nB359_p0677b21手,接物利生。雖在十字街頭,不離於孤峰頂上;雖在J36nB359_p0677b22孤峰頂上,不離於十字街頭。只如截斷兩頭,中間不J36nB359_p0677b23立,又如何話會?須知遠煙浪,別有好商量。」
J36nB359_p0677b24住大能仁寺,除夕,小參。「去歲華林辭舊臘,今宵越國J36nB359_p0677b25送殘年,現前佛法如親薦,日月何曾有變遷?所以,古J36nB359_p0677b26人道:『深山嶮崖有深山嶮崖中佛法,紅塵鬧市有紅J36nB359_p0677b27塵鬧市裏佛法。』向住弁山時,只見碧嶠雲生、寒潭月J36nB359_p0677b28印,魚遊水面穿花石而徘徊,猿嘯松梢戲紫藤而跳J36nB359_p0677b29躑,芒鞋拖幽蕙之香,袈裟染煙嵐之色,曉隨芳艸去,J36nB359_p0677b30晚逐落花回,野鳥關關善談實相,流泉咽咽恒演真J36nB359_p0677c01常,渾忘歲月,並不知有人問世。今住能仁時,只見越J36nB359_p0677c02城壘壘、樓閣層層,鐘鼓雜管絃之聲、燈火連車馬之J36nB359_p0677c03道,錦衣公子鳴鑾佩玉於花街,紅粉佳人玅舞清歌J36nB359_p0677c04於畫館,酒樓上不礙明心,肉案頭何妨見道?所謂:浩J36nB359_p0677c05浩紅塵裏,頭頭是故人。大眾!且道:深山嶮崖中佛法J36nB359_p0677c06與鬧市紅塵裏佛法還有差別也無?若道有,動靜未J36nB359_p0677c07忘;若道無,菽麥不分。於此薦得,今晚一任諸人打禾J36nB359_p0677c08山鼓、輥雪峰毬、唱新豐曲、弄雲嵒師子,亦不虛度一J36nB359_p0677c09年。山僧分付典座細切清風、薄㓟明月,爛煮泥牛、活J36nB359_p0677c10剝玉兔,滿盤托出與諸人分歲,還有其人麼?若也未J36nB359_p0677c11然,但知事逐眼前過,不覺老從頭上來。」
J36nB359_p0677c12居士誕日,請小參。「鑑水澂渟,涵萬象而靡滲;越山峻J36nB359_p0677c13峙,歷塵劫而不磨。高超有頂之天,迥出威音之外,巍J36nB359_p0677c14巍乎!蕩蕩乎!不可得而思議焉。大眾!委悉麼?今是居J36nB359_p0677c15士華誕,叵耐能仁淡薄,無物為壽,權借須彌為舌、虛J36nB359_p0677c16空為口,宣說維摩不二法門,即時十方世界、山河國J36nB359_p0677c17土、艸木叢林、有情無情,異口同音讚言:『善哉!善哉!希J36nB359_p0677c18有!希有!』大眾!何謂希有?上大人,丘乙己,化三千,七十J36nB359_p0677c19士,尒小生,八九子。」擊拂,云:「佳作仁,可知禮也。」
J36nB359_p0677c20小參。「眉間挂劍,須是其人;肘後懸符,還他作者。苟能J36nB359_p0677c21如是,鈯斧子正好磨礱,折腳鐺信手提挈。雞足分燈,J36nB359_p0677c22乃萬人之榜樣;景純夜夢,實千載之嘉猷。綱紀以此J36nB359_p0677c23而明,規繩以此而整,可以和融內外,燮理陰陽,共鑒J36nB359_p0677c24人天眼目,同闡佛祖風規。又古云:『若立一塵,家國興J36nB359_p0677c25盛;不立一塵,家國喪亡。』且道:立者是?不立者是?從前J36nB359_p0677c26汗馬無人識,只要重論蓋代功。」
J36nB359_p0677c27住雲門顯聖寺,入院當晚,小參。「大廈之材,非一丘之J36nB359_p0677c28木;千金之裘,非一狐之腋;錦繡之美,非一縷所成;簫J36nB359_p0677c29韶之樂,非一音能和。到者裏,正好同其心、協其力,黼J36nB359_p0677c30黻叢林、綱維大眾,彼此無殊、動靜一致,扇祖風於界J36nB359_p0678a01外、耀佛日於天心,詎不為法社之股肱、宗門之良弼J36nB359_p0678a02者哉?更有慧命永繼一句又如何道?惟祈此際同舒J36nB359_p0678a03力,共挈當年折腳鐺。」
J36nB359_p0678a04小參。「蜾蠃負螟蛉而為子,蜘蛛網蜻蜓以充食,貓狸J36nB359_p0678a05慣愛捉鼠,鸚鵡生就能言,雞以報曉,犬以司夜,至於J36nB359_p0678a06蠢蠢肖翹,不教而能,悉具無師自然之智。唯有衲僧J36nB359_p0678a07家,隔山見煙便知是火,隔牆見角便知是牛,及乎問J36nB359_p0678a08著衣線下事,十箇有五雙目瞪口啞。且道病在於何?J36nB359_p0678a09只為情關深閉,識鎖難開,時時似念水之龜,處處若J36nB359_p0678a10奔燄之鹿,如來說為可憐憫者此也。到此只須腦後J36nB359_p0678a11開隻眼,一覷覷破,始知世界未有之先、諸佛未出之J36nB359_p0678a12際、達磨未來之時,早有者箇消息。大眾!畢竟是箇甚J36nB359_p0678a13麼消息?」驀豎拂,云:「只者是。」
J36nB359_p0678a14住皋亭山佛日寺,當晚小參。「為眾如為己身,彼此事J36nB359_p0678a15辦;道念若同情念,成佛久矣。古人者般說話,正是棒J36nB359_p0678a16打石人頭,嚗嚗論實事。諸兄弟!固肯將為己切於為J36nB359_p0678a17眾、道念易於情念,管教禪不待參而自悟、道不待修J36nB359_p0678a18而自成,可以轉凡成聖、點鐵為金,何患法門不振、祖J36nB359_p0678a19道不揚?然此猶是衲僧尋常活計,須知衣線下別有J36nB359_p0678a20事在。如何是衣線下事?佛法無多子,久長難得人。」復J36nB359_p0678a21舉:「同安丕禪師因僧問:『如何是和尚家風?』丕云:『金雞J36nB359_p0678a22抱子歸霄漢,玉兔懷胎入紫微。』『忽遇客來,將何祗待?』J36nB359_p0678a23丕云:『金果早朝猿摘去,玉花晚後鳳銜來。』」乃云:「同安J36nB359_p0678a24丕祖大似轉輪聖王,百寶隨身、千子圍遶,忒煞賣富。J36nB359_p0678a25今有問:『如何是新佛日家風?』『山田脫粟飯,野菜澹黃J36nB359_p0678a26虀。』再問:『客來將何祗待?』『喫則從君喫,不喫任東西。』眾J36nB359_p0678a27兄弟!且道富貴家風好?清儉家風好?竿頭絲線從君J36nB359_p0678a28弄,不犯清波意自殊。」
J36nB359_p0678a29住國山善權寺,當晚小參。「山前一片閒田地,叉手叮J36nB359_p0678a30嚀問祖翁,幾度賣來還自買,為憐松竹引清風。大眾!J36nB359_p0678b01者片田地從本以來無古無今、無成無壞,了無疆界J36nB359_p0678b02之分,亦無彼此之辨,良由一切眾生迷己逐物、背覺J36nB359_p0678b03合塵,無明之艸隨識浪而滋生、般若之苗逐境風而J36nB359_p0678b04凋悴,是以三世諸佛、歷代祖師以及天下老古錐興J36nB359_p0678b05慈運悲、建宗立旨,種種方便、種種施設,用盡許多婆J36nB359_p0678b06心,無非發明者片田地而已。若要搆取者片田,J36nB359_p0678b07須共出手眼,戮力精勤,渾忘人我,泯絕是非,內不見J36nB359_p0678b08有根塵意想,外不見有大地山河,孜孜矻矻,年深月J36nB359_p0678b09久,㘞地一聲,始知者片田地本來現成,不從人得。雖J36nB359_p0678b10然,也要收得祖翁原本契書始得。大眾!將甚喚作原J36nB359_p0678b11本契書?路遙知馬力,日久見人心。」
J36nB359_p0678b12小參。「眾兄弟連日發憤打七,欲明生死大事,不覺瞬J36nB359_p0678b13息之間七日已竟。今且同你衣線下還曾相應麼?腳J36nB359_p0678b14跟下還曾穩當麼?涅槃心、差別智還曾明得麼?一切J36nB359_p0678b15佛祖言句還曾不疑麼?一切逆順境界還曾過得麼?J36nB359_p0678b16人我、是非、生死、去來、利衰、毀譽、稱譏、苦樂還曾不動J36nB359_p0678b17心麼?乃至於一切時中舉措施為還曾寤寐一如、動J36nB359_p0678b18靜不二麼?直饒你到者般田地,此名塵勞暫息,少得J36nB359_p0678b19輕安,未是到家活計。所以經中道:『縱滅一切見聞覺J36nB359_p0678b20知,內守幽閒,猶為法塵分別影事。』何況人我山高、是J36nB359_p0678b21非海深,雌黃交戰於胸中、妄念紛飛於意地?直須絕J36nB359_p0678b22名利、忘人我,大死一番方堪湊泊。不見黃面老子棄J36nB359_p0678b23金輪之寶位、舍萬乘之尊榮,入雪山修苦行,六年睹J36nB359_p0678b24星,始成正覺神光。參初祖於少林,夜跪雪中,利刀斷J36nB359_p0678b25臂,遂獲印可。浮山遠,不以撒灰潑水而動念;五祖演,J36nB359_p0678b26不以毀辱詆訾乃二其心。從上先德為法忘軀,十折J36nB359_p0678b27九剉,其道念愈固;千鎚百鍊,其光彩彌新,可謂人天J36nB359_p0678b28模範、今古標榜。豈似而今纔入叢林,戴高簷帽,穿厚J36nB359_p0678b29底鞋,擊絲絛,曳長裙,以房舍穩便為安逸,飲食次第J36nB359_p0678b30為快活,到處作模作樣,便道我是禪師,被人頂門一J36nB359_p0678c01鎚,不覺直下粉碎。此乃是磁器禪、琉璃禪,有甚用處?J36nB359_p0678c02是為真可憐愍者。如此修行,正是蒸沙作飯,縱經塵J36nB359_p0678c03劫,終不能得現前。兄弟欲要急切相應,慎勿效顰此J36nB359_p0678c04輩,只須按下雲頭,痛著精彩,勿論年月,以悟為期。況J36nB359_p0678c05我善權山水頗佳,風景不俗,古洞幽深,長松偃蓋。喜J36nB359_p0678c06清韻之悠揚,珍禽弄舌;樂佳味之恬淡,幽蕙生香。頭J36nB359_p0678c07頭則迦葉門風,步步則文殊智地,實為初機之方便,J36nB359_p0678c08亦乃助道之因緣。山僧者般說話,正是嚼飯萎嬰兒,J36nB359_p0678c09明眼人前不免一笑。到者裏,直須壁立萬仞,截斷千J36nB359_p0678c10差,上無攀仰,下絕己躬,八風吹不動,群魔攪不渾,鞭J36nB359_p0678c11起泥牛,回途復玅,喚醒石女,轉位施功,大用現前,不J36nB359_p0678c12存軌則,以塵勞為伴侶,將魔外作眷屬,是非海裏高J36nB359_p0678c13建法幢,人我山頭弘揚祖道,所謂我為法王,於法自J36nB359_p0678c14在。大眾還委悉麼?」良久,云:「孟春猶寒,各自歸堂。」
J36nB359_p0678c15住維揚善慶禪院,當晚小參。「寒梅破玉,放開劫外春J36nB359_p0678c16風;岸柳舒金,漏洩當人境界。會得者,理無二致;不會J36nB359_p0678c17者,事有千差。諸昆仲!於此會得,可以總法界為一家、J36nB359_p0678c18促塵劫為一念,直得無我無人、何彼何此,盡虛空都J36nB359_p0678c19盧是箇圓覺大伽藍,無量法門以之而透脫、百千三J36nB359_p0678c20昧以之而現前、恒沙解脫以之而無礙。到恁麼時,正J36nB359_p0678c21好向我祖師門下共出隻手,煮無米飯、炊不溼羹,接J36nB359_p0678c22待十方往來,然後與他拈卻炙脂帽子、脫卻鶻臭布J36nB359_p0678c23衫,使一切人作箇灑灑落落的衲僧,如是功德豈不J36nB359_p0678c24博哉?然此猶是功行邊事,須知更有佛祖不傳向上J36nB359_p0678c25一著子始得。諸昆仲!要知向上一著子麼?」良久,云:「佛J36nB359_p0678c26法無多子,久長難得人。」
J36nB359_p0678c27薦師,請小參。「古云:『生則畢竟生,死則實不死。』既云不J36nB359_p0678c28死,未審盤谷去世半月,大眾還知他的落處麼?果能J36nB359_p0678c29知得,方許你說一切諸佛皆如幻化、一切國土皆猶J36nB359_p0678c30影響、一切眾生亦是假名、一切涅槃悉如昨夢。到者J36nB359_p0679a01田地,不離煩惱而證菩提、不斷塵勞而成正覺、不出J36nB359_p0679a02魔界而入佛界、不離薉邦而即淨邦,驢胎馬腹皆為J36nB359_p0679a03道場、柳巷花街任作佛事,所謂諸佛眾生皆為賸語,J36nB359_p0679a04有何生死去來之相、塵勞煩惱之纏?今因自警請法J36nB359_p0679a05薦師,適來善慶如是說、大眾如是聽,坐立儼然,見聞J36nB359_p0679a06不昧,畢竟盤谷得何受用?」喝一喝,云:「撒手無依千聖J36nB359_p0679a07外,銀河影裏泛慈航。」
