師諱淨斯,號百愚,南陽桐柏谷氏子。生萬曆庚戌,廿J36nB359_p0617a12一脫白,明年圓具。參瑞白雪老人,聞鐘聲大悟,記莂J36nB359_p0617a13時年已四八矣。後五載,開法疁之昭慶。壬寅,主善權,J36nB359_p0617a14陞維揚之善慶。乙巳中秋,盡散衣缽。越旬二日,上堂J36nB359_p0617a15辭眾。翌晨書偈,擲筆而逝,頂煖徹日夜。壽元七八,臘J36nB359_p0617a16終五七,嗣法四十有二。遺命塔造善權,茶毘,獲大小J36nB359_p0617a17舍利不可勝數。鎖子靈骨,五色斕斑,齒牙目睛全如J36nB359_p0617a18故。辛亥,建塔寺東北萬松嶺後,坤艮向。銘為方學士J36nB359_p0617a19拱乾所撰。乙卯,築禮菴,守護塔左八坐,名藍九會。說J36nB359_p0617a20法語錄廿卷,梓送楞嚴,隨藏流通。

J36nB359_p0617a22一千七百則之先有公案否?前此矣。前此則何以一J36nB359_p0617a23千七百則?獨傳發端焉耳。發端則有廣之者矣,諸家J36nB359_p0617a24語錄是也。語錄者,語言文字之屬也。前此舉語言文J36nB359_p0617a25字而掃之矣,以為佛法之障也。繼此可得而掃之否?J36nB359_p0617a26曰:存之,則語言文字為佛法之障;掃之,則佛法又為J36nB359_p0617a27語言文字之障矣。然而掃與存果何居?則貴乎其人J36nB359_p0617a28焉爾。其人存,則其政舉,語言文字皆神奇也;其人亡,J36nB359_p0617a29則其政熄,語言文字皆臭腐也。以臭腐之語而出於J36nB359_p0617a30佛祖之口,則佛祖之矣;以神奇之句而出於野狐之J36nB359_p0617b01口,則野狐之矣。吾故曰:貴乎其人也。然而其人則難J36nB359_p0617b02言之矣,求其人於佛法之季,則益難之矣。吾則以仰J36nB359_p0617b03百愚大師,足以當之。大師開悟最早,操履至醇,譬之J36nB359_p0617b04帷燈匣劍,其光鍔以韜斂為奇,及其苦心為人,而寶J36nB359_p0617b05珠肆應,全體大用,有不可得而掩者,其嗣存焉。睿公J36nB359_p0617b06以語錄見示,余曰:吾將求大師之人,則大師之語言J36nB359_p0617b07文字舉此矣。夫大師之人,諸方所共仰,或以為泰山J36nB359_p0617b08喬岳、或以為威鳳祥麟、或以為光風霽月、或以為烈J36nB359_p0617b09日秋霜,而要其感人以誠、遇物以恕,律己以孤峻、處J36nB359_p0617b10事以平等,不離真實者近是。經云:「惟此一真實,餘二J36nB359_p0617b11則非真。」以大師之實,求大師之人,以云傳也;以大師J36nB359_p0617b12之人,存大師之語言文字,以云救也。

J36nB359_p0617b22禪師俗姓谷氏,河南南陽桐柏縣人。自出世後,以向J36nB359_p0617b23上鉗錘學者,凡八主道場,始暢於昭慶,圓寂於善慶,J36nB359_p0617b24建塔於善權。善權者,吾邑溪山最勝處,歷代祖師僊J36nB359_p0617b25靈窟宅也。先是,邑中蔣晦齋先生以宰官為釋氏護J36nB359_p0617b26法,念茲山自洊更兵燹來,榛莽之所叢生,獾豕之所J36nB359_p0617b27嗥嘯,法席非得人不可,於是不徇名、不懾勢,特迎師J36nB359_p0617b28主是山。師至,則攘幽剔薉,復故拓新,寺大治。繼師者,J36nB359_p0617b29即師法嗣寒松公。公神明警秀,威音肅然,其語錄、詩J36nB359_p0617b30文亦久為世重。師沒後,寒公手輯其語錄為二十餘J36nB359_p0617c01卷,藏寺中。寒公嘗為余言:「師為人清沖簡劭,是支道J36nB359_p0617c02林、竺法深一流人。」及讀龍眠先生所為師塔銘,條分J36nB359_p0617c03縷柝,寒公之言益信。既又讀師語錄,龍駒蹙蹋、天馬J36nB359_p0617c04脫羈,時而說法熾然、時而拈花微笑。竊歎自一花五J36nB359_p0617c05葉以還,青原、南嶽而下,提唱兼行,然未有颯爽森張,J36nB359_p0617c06單提直入,如禪師之踸踸者也,則吾於寒公之言益J36nB359_p0617c07大信。噫!吾見今之執拂而踞上座者矣。其上者,剽竊J36nB359_p0617c08古德傳燈單文隻字,支離撏撦,嚼蠟捕風,輒揚揚然J36nB359_p0617c09詡於人曰:「我某宗嫡傳也。」是與王、謝家不慧子弟專J36nB359_p0617c10以門閱上人者何異?甚或牽綴權勢,憑藉貴游,攫人J36nB359_p0617c11之田廬而魚肉之,猶曰:「我為祖塔司糞除也,五宗嚴J36nB359_p0617c12支派也。」識與不識,無不從而嘔噦之。聞禪師之風,亦J36nB359_p0617c13庶幾自媿矣。余涉秋行國山道中,憩善權寺門松巷,J36nB359_p0617c14屈指疇昔,則禪師既寂,晦齋繼歾,即寒公亦席不暇J36nB359_p0617c15暖他徙。問其寺,則已為豪有力者主之矣。驚飆所及,J36nB359_p0617c16林無靜柯,俛仰之閒,能無慨然於中乎?因至師塔下,J36nB359_p0617c17汲澗水一盂而飲之,風霜刻轢,泉香而石瘦,則猶能J36nB359_p0617c18想見師之為人。

J36nB359_p0618c05順治丙戌冬,在雲間青龍隆福寺受請入院。
J36nB359_p0618c06三門。「者箇大解脫門,今為諸人八字打開了也。且作J36nB359_p0618c07麼生入?」喝一喝。「獅子窟中無異獸,象王行處絕狐蹤。J36nB359_p0618c08彌勒殿盡道當來下生,緣何卻在者裏便好?奪卻布J36nB359_p0618c09袋,趁出山門。」顧左右,云:「今且放過一著。」遂禮三拜。
J36nB359_p0618c10方丈。「玄關把斷,搜空罔象之珠;寶鏡高懸,照破野狐J36nB359_p0618c11之膽。直饒釋迦、維摩到來,也要按過。何故?」卓拄杖,云:J36nB359_p0618c12「假雞聲韻難瞞我,未肯糢糊放過關。」
J36nB359_p0618c13開堂拈疏。「字字鐵酸餡,句句木札羹,還委悉麼?其或J36nB359_p0618c14未委,仰煩宣過。」
J36nB359_p0618c15法座。「此是寶華王座,未審須彌登王在甚麼處?且看J36nB359_p0618c16斯上座指模畫樣去也。」陞座,拈香。「此一瓣香,明如舜J36nB359_p0618c17日、曠若堯天,祝延J36nB359_p0618c18聖躬萬歲萬歲萬萬歲,伏願金輪永鎮、玉燭常調,壽J36nB359_p0618c19踰百億須彌、化洽大千沙界。此一瓣香,經天緯地、貫J36nB359_p0618c20古通今,奉為滿朝文武、闔國公卿、府縣尊官、遠近檀J36nB359_p0618c21護,惟冀永作生民怙恃,恒為佛法金湯。此一瓣香,非J36nB359_p0618c22正非偏,非玄非要,穿卻諸佛鼻孔,換卻衲僧眼睛,供J36nB359_p0618c23養前住越州雲門顯聖堂上傳曹洞正宗二十八世J36nB359_p0618c24瑞白雪大和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」就座。維那白椎,云:「法J36nB359_p0618c25筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」師云:「若論者箇第一義,黃面J36nB359_p0618c26瞿曇插觜無分,碧眼胡僧退身有地。縱饒德山有棒,J36nB359_p0618c27只堪打豬打狗;臨濟有口,只好喝驢喝馬。雖然威音J36nB359_p0618c28那畔休話,如何曲為今時繇人施設?」舉拂子,云:「者裏J36nB359_p0618c29會去,不妨竿木隨身,逢場作戲,饑餐無米飯、渴飲不J36nB359_p0618c30溼羹,打鞦韆於猛虎頷下、翻筋斗於毒蛇口中,磅礡J36nB359_p0619a01虛空、紛紜宇宙,橫抽寶劍,截諸見之稠林;玅協弘通,J36nB359_p0619a02翦異端之穿鑿。世諦道諦隨處周圓,佛恩皇恩一時J36nB359_p0619a03酬足,正眼看來,未是衲僧行履處。且作麼生是衲僧J36nB359_p0619a04行履處?隱身不必須嵒谷,闤闠堆堆睹者稀。」維那結J36nB359_p0619a05椎,云:「諦觀法王法,法王法如是。」下座。
J36nB359_p0619a06元旦,上堂。「柳眼垂青,窺破江心紅日冷;梅腮發笑,驚J36nB359_p0619a07回塔畔曉風高。冰河發燄以騰輝,枯木生花而散彩。J36nB359_p0619a08遷喬黃鳥,弄格外之真機;出谷白雲,呈現前之玅用。J36nB359_p0619a09煙光溢目,淑氣盈空,可謂應時納佑,慶無不宜。正恁J36nB359_p0619a10麼時,父子團圞,君臣會合,又且如何?」良久,云:「干戈偃J36nB359_p0619a11處狼煙息,萬里歌謠賀太平。」
J36nB359_p0619a12至南翔白鶴寺,請上堂。「世尊拈花,老不識羞;迦葉微J36nB359_p0619a13笑,承虛接響。致使後代兒孫向曲彔床上指東話西,J36nB359_p0619a14正法眼藏未曾有一人動著。山僧路見不平,傍為鏟J36nB359_p0619a15削。」卓拄杖,云:「正法眼藏被昭慶百雜碎了也,一時化J36nB359_p0619a16作無量無邊清淨摩尼寶珠。凡在會者,不論僧俗、男J36nB359_p0619a17女、貧富、貴賤、賢愚、老幼,一齊布施,直下咸知此珠在J36nB359_p0619a18凡不減、在聖不增,人人具足、箇箇圓成,濟人施物,應J36nB359_p0619a19用無虧。敢問諸人:即今珠在甚麼處?」喝一喝,云:「罔象J36nB359_p0619a20到時光燦爛,離婁行處浪滔天。」問:「接物利生即不問,J36nB359_p0619a21如何是第一句?」師云:「當空杲日人皆見。」「如何是第二J36nB359_p0619a22句?」師云:「白雲片片過前川。」「如何是第三句?」師云:「鴛鴦J36nB359_p0619a23飛過洞庭湖。」進云:「日麗風和鶯語細,天空雲淡水聲J36nB359_p0619a24清。」師云:「休來者裏念篇章。」
J36nB359_p0619a25上堂。「昨夜三更澍大雨,今朝覿面為相舉,依依柳色J36nB359_p0619a26吐黃金,片片梅花流玉乳,大地群萌盡獲恩,森羅萬J36nB359_p0619a27象皆歡舞。莫沉吟,急薦取,若能於此絕狐疑,直下翻J36nB359_p0619a28身超佛祖。」
J36nB359_p0619a29上堂。喝一喝,云:「大眾!還識者金剛寶劍麼?擬則傷鋒J36nB359_p0619a30犯手,觸則喪身失命,三世諸佛不敢正眼覷著,歷代J36nB359_p0619b01祖師那容佇足傍觀?若是箇漢,信手拈來,纖毫不犯,J36nB359_p0619b02直下劃開情塵見網,當陽擊碎金鎖玄關,予奪縱橫,J36nB359_p0619b03殺活自在,隨處作主,遇緣即宗,正好挽祖風於末運、J36nB359_p0619b04捧佛日於天心,世、出世間一大丈夫,然猶是建化門J36nB359_p0619b05中事。且不落功勳一句作麼生道?手指空時天地轉,J36nB359_p0619b06回途石馬出紗籠。」
J36nB359_p0619b07結制,上堂。「十五日已前,卒風暴雨;十五日已後,朗月J36nB359_p0619b08晴空。所以道:把住則黃金失色,放行則瓦礫生光。放J36nB359_p0619b09行、把住即不問,汝諸人正當十五日又且如何話會?J36nB359_p0619b10○於此洞徹,不妨做箇灑灑落落衲僧去。否則,且向J36nB359_p0619b11三條椽下、七尺單前高挂缽囊,壁立萬仞,內脫身心、J36nB359_p0619b12外遺世界,一念萬年、萬年一念,不以程途為限,直須J36nB359_p0619b13以悟為期。誠能如是,上不負於諸聖、下不辜於己靈,J36nB359_p0619b14然後於祖師門下扶豎宗乘、接待往來,未為分外。雖J36nB359_p0619b15然,若到昭慶門前打拆腳脛,何故?不見道:清光照眼J36nB359_p0619b16似迷家,明白轉身還墮位。」
J36nB359_p0619b17說戒,上堂。「祖印高懸,凡聖絕跡,樓閣門開,別峰相見。J36nB359_p0619b18若是恁麼事,須是者般人。昔法眼問永明潛云:『古人J36nB359_p0619b19道:「隔壁聞釵釧聲即名破戒。現睹金銀合雜、朱紫駢J36nB359_p0619b20闐,且道是破戒?不是破戒?」』潛云:『好箇入處。』眼云:『子向J36nB359_p0619b21後有五百毳徒為王侯所重在。』」乃云:「即今香花羅列、J36nB359_p0619b22鐘鼓交參,海眾雲臻、人天普集。眾中有得箇入處者,J36nB359_p0619b23不妨攢眉便去、掩耳即行,花街柳巷任意逍遙,歌管J36nB359_p0619b24樓臺隨緣放曠,擲大千於界外,納劫火於腹中。若到J36nB359_p0619b25者箇田地,名真持戒;苟或遲疑,應須諦聽。」
J36nB359_p0619b26弁山先老和尚忌日,上堂。「維那未白椎已前,先師向J36nB359_p0619b27諸人眉毛尖上轉大根本法輪,說甚深修多羅,使未J36nB359_p0619b28信者信、未解者解、未安者安、未悟者悟、未得涅槃者J36nB359_p0619b29得涅槃,一音演唱,隨類各解,所謂一切智智清淨,無J36nB359_p0619b30二無二分、無別無斷故,然後又向諸人眉毛尖上復J36nB359_p0619c01入寂光三昧。大眾見麼?縱饒見得,更有末後句子未J36nB359_p0619c02曾道在。昭慶今日要與諸人道破去也。」良久,云:「寧可J36nB359_p0619c03截舌,不犯國諱。」
J36nB359_p0619c04上堂。「雲門餅、趙州茶,打發閒神野鬼;秘魔叉、石鞏箭,J36nB359_p0619c05驚駭泥豬癩狗。五位三玄是甚破艸鞋?六義圓相是J36nB359_p0619c06甚繫驢橛?正眼看來,總是一場笑具。昭慶曾無一法J36nB359_p0619c07與人,無禪道可參、無佛法可學,亦不教你明心見性、J36nB359_p0619c08亦不教你超佛越祖,只要饑來喫飯、困來打眠,熱時J36nB359_p0619c09乘涼、寒時向火。者裏會得,人人鼻孔撩天;設或未然,J36nB359_p0619c10箇箇腳跟點地。」
J36nB359_p0619c11誕日,上堂。舉韓文公參大顛因緣,乃云:「大顛老漢雖J36nB359_p0619c12有撥亂之謀,且無定安之策。有問昭慶:『春秋多少?』但J36nB359_p0619c13道:『庚戌生的。』待他曰:『不會。』更道:『今年三十八。』當時大J36nB359_p0619c14顛若下得者兩語,不惟免得首座受屈,亦不教者俗J36nB359_p0619c15漢看破。山僧如此舉揚,與古人是同?是別?」良久,云:「青J36nB359_p0619c16山只解磨今古,流水何曾洗是非?」
J36nB359_p0619c17解制,上堂。「雨霽雲收,處處青山呈舊面;涼生暑退,紛J36nB359_p0619c18紛黃葉墜新機。秋水澂玻璃之色,銀蟾吐寶鏡之輝,J36nB359_p0619c19物物全彰,頭頭獨露,會得前是結制,不會今又解制。J36nB359_p0619c20其結也,魚躍鳶飛,星馳電卷,疾燄過風,奔流度刃,臨J36nB359_p0619c21濟、德山到來只得吞聲飲氣;其解也,龍吟霧起,虎嘯J36nB359_p0619c22風生,凡聖交參,人天普會,情與無情同圓種智。雖然,J36nB359_p0619c23有結有解猶是今世門頭事,只如無解無結又作麼J36nB359_p0619c24生?疁城壘壘超今古,練水滔滔絕去來。」問:「百二十期J36nB359_p0619c25今已解,臨筵朢日事如何?」師云:「海闊從魚躍。」進云:「一J36nB359_p0619c26輪撲落須彌倒,透出虛空甚麼人?」師云:「天空任鳥飛。」J36nB359_p0619c27進云:「圓缺缺圓空界月,再三吞吐始應知。」師云:「只恐J36nB359_p0619c28不是玉。」進云:「得力須忘飽,休糧更不饑。」師云:「是玉也J36nB359_p0619c29大奇。」
J36nB359_p0619c30至青浦縣,眾縉紳請上堂。「秋風拂拂送輕舟,昨泛青J36nB359_p0620a01溪浪裏遊,撒箇漫天無縫網,魚龍蝦蟹一齊收。」顧左J36nB359_p0620a02右,云:「還有翀霄彩鳳、透網金鱗麼?有則今日功不浪J36nB359_p0620a03施,無則不免撥轉船頭別行一路去也。」拈拄杖,云:「只J36nB359_p0620a04如教中道:『若能轉物,即同如來。』者箇拄杖是物,作麼J36nB359_p0620a05生轉得同如來去?者箇是如來,作麼生轉得同物去?J36nB359_p0620a06如能轉得,不妨於拄杖頭上現百億須彌、百億日月、J36nB359_p0620a07百億四天下、百億釋迦;若轉不得……」卓拄杖,云:「城市不J36nB359_p0620a08堪留錫久,恐驚鶯囀畫樓前。」問:「世尊分衛化導眾生,J36nB359_p0620a09和尚入城化箇甚麼?」師云:「蘆花兩岸雪。」進云:「還有承J36nB359_p0620a10當得的麼?」師云:「江水一天秋。」進云:「當空紅日照崑崙。」J36nB359_p0620a11師云:「莫向言中覓,須從句外求。」一僧纔禮拜,師云:「好J36nB359_p0620a12生問話。」僧一喝,師便打,僧又喝,師亦打,僧豎起拳,云:J36nB359_p0620a13「長安大道向者裏去也。」師云:「教休不肯休。」進云:「悄然J36nB359_p0620a14黃葉落,不獨一天秋。」師又打,云:「直待雨淋頭。」
J36nB359_p0620a15至上海縣龍華寺,請上堂。「黃浦波浪,浴日滔天,窣堵J36nB359_p0620a16簷牙,拏雲攫霧,轉輪殿覿面全提,藏經樓橫空獨露。J36nB359_p0620a17會得者,一任轉天關、捩地軸,施一機地震山搖,行一J36nB359_p0620a18令神驚鬼懼,非惟報佛恩德,亦不辜負方丈主人打J36nB359_p0620a19鳳羅龍一片婆心。忽有人曰:『和尚者般說話,亦是擔J36nB359_p0620a20水河頭賣。』昭慶向他道:『不因漁父引,怎得見波濤?』」問:J36nB359_p0620a21「十五已前缺了圓,十五已後圓了缺,正當十五,是圓?J36nB359_p0620a22是缺?」師云:「一任鑽龜打瓦。」進云:「萬吉碧潭空撈摝,未J36nB359_p0620a23曾驚覺莫能知。」師云:「且喜沒交涉。」問:「正偏回互即不J36nB359_p0620a24問,賓主交參事若何?」師云:「昨日雨,今日風。」進云:「如是J36nB359_p0620a25則寒山逢拾得,鼓掌笑欣欣。」師云:「也不辜負闍黎。」
J36nB359_p0620a26至周浦鎮永定寺,請上堂。「永定寺中,考鐘伐鼓;周浦J36nB359_p0620a27市上,賣狗懸羊。歌管樓臺,總是衲僧境界;花街柳巷,J36nB359_p0620a28無非慈氏家風。盤山睹割肉而明心,樓子聞唱歌而J36nB359_p0620a29悟道。普化搖鈴鐸,全提向上機關;善慧販魚羹,直指J36nB359_p0620a30當陽玅用。所以,人能弘道,非道弘人。到者裏,誰分城J36nB359_p0620b01市山林?那管魔宮佛國?任運逍遙,隨緣放曠,舒卷不J36nB359_p0620b02落功勳,去來了無變易。雖然如是,須知更有轉身一J36nB359_p0620b03路始得。還知轉身一路麼?」良久,云:「知音不用頻頻舉,J36nB359_p0620b04達者須知暗裏驚。」問:「大行普賢超格外,凝然苦行事J36nB359_p0620b05如何?」師云:「古井含新月。」進云:「樹凋葉落金風露,衲破J36nB359_p0620b06衣穿作麼生?」師云:「殘枝帶晚霞。」進云:「髼頭林下為閑J36nB359_p0620b07客,跣足人閒作野僧。」師云:「再道一句看。」進云:「石人頭J36nB359_p0620b08上插金花。」師云:「相隨來也。」
J36nB359_p0620b09結制,上堂。拈拄杖,云:「把住六門關,撥開大火聚,聖凡J36nB359_p0620b10無處逃,佛祖豈能避?直得大地平沉,千差路絕,海水J36nB359_p0620b11逆流,須彌倒卓,鶻眼龍睛不敢覷著,銅頭鐵額那容J36nB359_p0620b12近前?正恁麼時,便乃點鐵成金,轉凡為聖,變娑婆為J36nB359_p0620b13極樂,翻荊棘為栴檀,驢乳、牛乳盡為無上醍醐,有情、J36nB359_p0620b14無情共證不二真覺,箇箇如獅子兒哮吼一聲,驚天J36nB359_p0620b15動地,縱饒到此,正好喫棒。」復卓一卓,云:「權威黑帝令J36nB359_p0620b16尤切,那許東風弄柳狂?」問:「一雨均施,三根普潤,如何J36nB359_p0620b17是類墮?」師云:「何處不稱尊?」「如何是隨墮?」師云:「步步不J36nB359_p0620b18沾塵。」「如何是尊貴墮?」師云:「覿面無相識。」進云:「恁麼則J36nB359_p0620b19迥迥雪山千古秀,滔滔洞水萬年流。」師云:「三墮外更J36nB359_p0620b20道一句看。」僧禮拜,師便打。
J36nB359_p0620b21冬至,上堂。「天得一以清,地得一以寧,神得一以靈,君J36nB359_p0620b22王得一以治天下。」拈拄杖云:「只如木上座能殺能活,J36nB359_p0620b23能縱能奪,或時現大,充滿法界,或時現小,在一微塵,J36nB359_p0620b24縱橫自在,變化無拘。且道他得箇甚麼卻能如是?千J36nB359_p0620b25尋海底泥牛舞,萬仞峰頭玉鳳鳴。」問:「琉璃界外不知J36nB359_p0620b26蹤,娑婆國內無名姓。且道此人具甚麼手眼?」師云:「步J36nB359_p0620b27步冰花結。」進云:「還許他參學也無?」師云:「言言徹骨寒。」J36nB359_p0620b28進云:「仲冬嚴寒,伏惟和尚珍重。」師云:「放你三十棒。」
J36nB359_p0620b29上堂。「第一義,為君決。面赤不如語直,巧言不如實說。J36nB359_p0620b30秤錘軟似綿團,燈心硬似鐵橛。石女歌,木童拍,萬象J36nB359_p0620c01森羅笑不歇。彌勒惺惺總不知,釋迦依然猶未瞥。洞J36nB359_p0620c02山五位那能該,臨濟三玄收不得。若信得及,師恩親J36nB359_p0620c03恩一時酬畢。如信不及,雨過曉風清,月明秋水白。」
J36nB359_p0620c04上堂。「凜凜朔風遍界寒,千林葉落水成斑,透肌徹骨J36nB359_p0620c05誰能委?惟有梅花笑破顏。明舉似,莫瞞盰,剔起眉毛J36nB359_p0620c06仔細看。」豎拂子,云:「大眾見麼?凍雞啼處家園曉,隱隱J36nB359_p0620c07行人過雪山。」
J36nB359_p0620c08佛成道日,上堂。「世尊臘八於正覺山前夜睹明星悟J36nB359_p0620c09道,喟然歎曰:『奇哉!一切眾生具有如來智慧德相,但J36nB359_p0620c10以妄想執著而不證得。』」喝一喝,云:「是何言歟?大小世J36nB359_p0620c11尊眼空四海、傍若無人,者等說話,只好欺壓流俗、誑J36nB359_p0620c12惑愚人,二千年後難免簡點。只如離兜率、降王宮,豈J36nB359_p0620c13不是妄想執著耶?入胎降生、大驚小怪、指天指地,豈J36nB359_p0620c14不是妄想執著耶?棄金輪之位、舍萬乘之國,豈不是J36nB359_p0620c15妄想執著耶?詣雪山、餐麻麥、睹星悟道,豈不是妄想J36nB359_p0620c16執著耶?乃至說頓、說漸,說偏、說圓,說空、說有,靈山會J36nB359_p0620c17上拈一枝花,謂之教外別傳,豈不是妄想執著耶?正J36nB359_p0620c18眼看來,何異好肉穵瘡?總不如昭慶肚饑喫飯、身冷J36nB359_p0620c19加衣,任運騰騰、灑灑落落,亦無明星可睹、亦無禪道J36nB359_p0620c20可悟,復何妄想執著之有哉?山僧如是告報大眾,直J36nB359_p0620c21下無疑,不妨與釋迦老子同證、同悟、同時成道。更或J36nB359_p0620c22擬議,滄江波動因風起,瓦灶無薪火不然。」
J36nB359_p0620c23祈嗣,請上堂。「乾坤之內,宇宙之間,中有一寶,秘在形J36nB359_p0620c24山。」卓拄杖,云:「形山粉碎了也。若能見得,世、出世間靡J36nB359_p0620c25有過於此者。輪王得之以御天下,龍女獻之而獲授J36nB359_p0620c26記。以此懺罪,無罪不滅;以此祈福,無福不臻。隨心所J36nB359_p0620c27欲,無不具足,天人群生類皆承此恩力。更有承紹家J36nB359_p0620c28業又如何道?庭前玉樹花開早,世世芬芳亙古今。」
J36nB359_p0620c29薦嚴慈請上堂。豎拂云:「只者箇圓陀陀、光爍爍、淨裸J36nB359_p0620c30裸、赤灑灑,虛空包不住、大地載不起,無去無來,冥通J36nB359_p0621a01三際,亙古亙今,體遍十方,二聽莫聞其響,五目安睹J36nB359_p0621a02其容,不可得而親、不可得而疏,舉心即錯、動念即乖,J36nB359_p0621a03還有承當領略者麼?若能如是,處生死流若驪珠獨J36nB359_p0621a04耀於滄海,踞涅槃岸似桂輪孤朗於碧天,三代祖禰J36nB359_p0621a05以此而超生,累世親緣仗此而度脫,可懺不懺之咎,J36nB359_p0621a06以報不報之恩,苟非其人,未免重說偈言。」遂合掌云:J36nB359_p0621a07「惟願無限勝良因,回向法界真實際,一念無私證無J36nB359_p0621a08生,直入如來不退地。八德池中任遨遊,九蓮臺上恣J36nB359_p0621a09嬉戲,如此了知三世法,於諸如來無有異。無去無來J36nB359_p0621a10亙古今,不生不滅無淪墜,一塵普現一切剎,一切剎J36nB359_p0621a11在一塵內,種種方便度眾生,盡未來際作佛事。過去J36nB359_p0621a12菩薩如是學,現在菩薩得授記,未來菩薩亦復然,共J36nB359_p0621a13證如來平等智,回向法界諸有情,是則名為不思議。」J36nB359_p0621a14問:「如何是正中偏?」師云:「臘月藕花鮮。」「如何是偏中正?」J36nB359_p0621a15師云:「殘雲籠古徑。」「如何是正中來?」師云:「泥猿嘯月臺。」J36nB359_p0621a16「如何是兼中至?」師云:「鍼來與線去。」「如何是兼中到?」師J36nB359_p0621a17云:「虛空開口笑。」僧禮拜,師便打。
J36nB359_p0621a18上堂。「仰之彌高,鑽之彌堅,瞻之在前,忽焉在後。昭慶J36nB359_p0621a19如是舉揚,大眾作麼商量?謂是佛法,卻是顏子道底;J36nB359_p0621a20謂是儒書,又在山僧口裏說出。於此分析明白,不妨J36nB359_p0621a21奇特。有者便謂儒教不殊於禪教,世法無異於佛法,J36nB359_p0621a22天地一指,萬物一馬,凡聖一體,三界一心,彼此一致。J36nB359_p0621a23恁麼解會,料掉沒交涉。若是大丈夫,直下截斷葛藤,J36nB359_p0621a24掀翻情識,孤迥迥、露堂堂,高超三界、獨步大方,無可J36nB359_p0621a25不可、無在不在,不動等覺而建立諸法。還有恁麼人J36nB359_p0621a26麼?山僧不妨下箇註腳:仰之彌高,不隔纖毫,大鵬展J36nB359_p0621a27翅,廓爾沖霄;鑽之彌堅,亙古如然,白雲片片,皓月娟J36nB359_p0621a28娟;瞻之在前,迥脫言詮,揚眉瞬目,如隔天淵;忽焉在J36nB359_p0621a29後,忒煞漏逗,臘月梅花,馨香依舊。」
J36nB359_p0621a30元旦,上堂。「翡翠簾前,九夏霜花滿地;琉璃殿上,三更J36nB359_p0621b01旭日盈門。木雞啼而千林曉,玉犬吠而萬戶春。藏香J36nB359_p0621b02象於不萌草裏,盛活蛇於無底籃中。燕尾船兒日越J36nB359_p0621b03清風,羊頭車子夜推明月。不容那畔,寧落今時?所以J36nB359_p0621b04道:靈苗瑞草,野父愁耘;露地白牛,道人懶牧。太平豈J36nB359_p0621b05有象,何妨麟集鳳翔?造化本無私,一任龍吟虎嘯。正J36nB359_p0621b06恁麼時,且道承誰恩力?野老不知黃屋貴,六街慵聽J36nB359_p0621b07靜鞭聲。」
J36nB359_p0621b08至弁山,蕃光和尚請上堂。「雲封弁嶽,人天景仰無門;J36nB359_p0621b09月照華林,龍象參尋有路。花石澗恒演長舌之音,彌J36nB359_p0621b10勒峰獨現大人之相,塵塵祖意盈眸,剎剎真風覿面。」J36nB359_p0621b11豎拂子,云:「大眾!者裏會得,一任胸藏武庫、肘佩靈符,J36nB359_p0621b12渾融正偏、迭為賓主,驗龍蛇於杖頭、分玉石於言下,J36nB359_p0621b13掀翻日月、別立乾坤,十地聞之魂驚、三賢見之膽戰,J36nB359_p0621b14不是神通玅用,亦非法爾如然。雖則如是,若在衲僧J36nB359_p0621b15分中未為奇特,須知我洞山門下別有尊貴一路始J36nB359_p0621b16得。作麼生是尊貴一路?」良久,云:「不須此外尋堂奧,諸J36nB359_p0621b17向華林問主人。」問:「昨日設供報師恩,今朝說法利群J36nB359_p0621b18生,說法利生則且置,報恩一句請師宣。」師云:「青龍岡J36nB359_p0621b19上雲靄靄。」進云:「和尚設供,先老人還來受供也無?」師J36nB359_p0621b20云:「象王峰畔霧騰騰。」進云:「與麼則和尚未離昭慶,先J36nB359_p0621b21老人早已受供了也。」師云:「切忌妄通消息。」
J36nB359_p0621b22上堂,舉:「實性大師因芙蓉訓禪師至,上堂,以右手拈J36nB359_p0621b23拄杖倚左邊,良久,曰:『此事若非芙蓉師兄,也大難委J36nB359_p0621b24悉。』便下座。」乃云:「實大師雖則人情佛法一時周備,檢J36nB359_p0621b25點將來,大似向福建人前賣荔枝,未免傍觀者哂。」
J36nB359_p0621b26至玉峰,請上堂。「玉峰突兀,獨露萬象之中;寶塔玲瓏,J36nB359_p0621b27勢出層霄之外。彌勒閣無殊兜率,曇華亭迥異人間。J36nB359_p0621b28梵宇參差,影沉碧水;松杉錯落,韻奏笙簧。處處車馬J36nB359_p0621b29駢闐,時時朱紫合雜。雲封雉堞,偏正何分?月照閭閻,J36nB359_p0621b30主賓莫辨。於斯會得,無邊剎海自他不隔於毫端;於J36nB359_p0621c01斯不會,十世古今始終不離於當念。」舉拂子,云:「分明J36nB359_p0621c02月在梅花上,看到梅花早已遲。」
J36nB359_p0621c03至雲間貝多菴,請上堂。「只者第一義以太虛為紙、大J36nB359_p0621c04地為硯、九峰為毫、三泖為墨,直教宋石門、趙文度、董J36nB359_p0621c05玄宰、陳眉公竭其心力、殫其精巧,寫到彌勒下生,以J36nB359_p0621c06至盡未來際,不能加一毫於其間。須知語言文字之J36nB359_p0621c07所未及、世智辨聰之所未窮,故曰:口欲譚而辭喪,心J36nB359_p0621c08欲緣而慮亡。貴在言前領荷、格外翻身,四五百條花J36nB359_p0621c09柳巷正好調心、二三千處管絃樓一任放浪,乃吾人J36nB359_p0621c10之固有,非性分之強為。不然,明朝五月端陽節,看取J36nB359_p0621c11龍舟奪錦標。」
J36nB359_p0621c12誕日,上堂。「年年此日,此日年年,見有流動,物無變遷。J36nB359_p0621c13天外白雲兮,乍來乍去;江心明月兮,或缺或圓。松自J36nB359_p0621c14直,棘自曲;鵠自白,烏自黑。彌勒、釋迦,誰後?誰先?」豎拂J36nB359_p0621c15子,云:「只者箇,三世諸佛不敢譚著,歷代祖師不敢覷J36nB359_p0621c16著,迎之不見其首,隨之不見其後。大眾會麼?一種風J36nB359_p0621c17流人不識,新婦騎驢阿家牽。」
J36nB359_p0621c18上堂。「今朝六月十九,普門大士垂手,盡謂降伏群魔,J36nB359_p0621c19也是拏棒喚狗。昭慶卻不然。」拈拄杖,云:「不見道:見怪J36nB359_p0621c20不怪,其怪自壞。」
J36nB359_p0621c21上堂。「床頭蟋蟀,舉古驗今;檻外芭蕉,敲風弄月。所以J36nB359_p0621c22道:真機無隱,大道全該,不待睹影逢渠,玅見無情說J36nB359_p0621c23法。雖然,還有究竟者麼?秋色滿園人不薦,哀哀孤鴈J36nB359_p0621c24又南飛。」
J36nB359_p0621c25上堂。「疁城磊落磨今古,練水瀠洄絕往還。薦得目前J36nB359_p0621c26無別法,迥然直透祖師關。」
J36nB359_p0621c27至化城菴,請上堂。「化城雖設,策進駑駘;寶所非遙,翻J36nB359_p0621c28騰龍象。到者裏,言方便而了無方便,立程途而迥絕J36nB359_p0621c29程途,直欲人人同登毘盧樓閣,其人如來覺場。果是J36nB359_p0621c30知有的人,時時奉重。畢竟如何是奉重的事?夜半庭J36nB359_p0622a01前紅日冷,不萌花下舞春風。」
J36nB359_p0622a02至婁塘西資菴,請上堂。「法無定相,道絕方隅,赴感隨J36nB359_p0622a03機,由人施設。大眾還委悉麼?落木蕭蕭練水寒,扁舟J36nB359_p0622a04隨處且垂竿,楊柳岸,蓼花灘,得盤桓處且盤桓,等閒J36nB359_p0622a05唱箇漁家樂,鉤盡滄浪月一灣。」
J36nB359_p0622a06薦亡,請上堂。「欲識無生旨,分明在目前,芙蓉含露笑,J36nB359_p0622a07楓葉醉霜眠。剎剎光明藏,頭頭極樂天,不須向外覓。」J36nB359_p0622a08喝一喝,云:「擬議隔三千。」
J36nB359_p0622a09至獅子林,請上堂。「鬱密獅林深可藏,橫溪一室儼如J36nB359_p0622a10航,梳風細柳千條碧,灑雪殘梅幾片香。東閣觀潮知J36nB359_p0622a11水信,西林坐月覺天涼,即心即佛誰相委?▆▆波中J36nB359_p0622a12蕩夕陽。」
J36nB359_p0622a13上堂。舉:「歸宗因僧問:『如何是佛?』宗曰:『欲向汝道,恐汝J36nB359_p0622a14不信。』僧曰:『和尚重言,焉敢不信?』宗曰:『即汝便是。』僧曰:J36nB359_p0622a15『如何保任?』宗曰:『一翳在目,空花亂墜。』」乃云:「赤眼歸宗,J36nB359_p0622a16雖則機辨縱橫、卷舒自在,仔細較量,猶涉唇吻。當時J36nB359_p0622a17若問昭慶:『如何是佛?』即向他道:『你是抱贓叫屈漢。』再J36nB359_p0622a18問:『如何保任?』和聲便打。非唯使者僧別有機關,亦不J36nB359_p0622a19教他閨閣中作活計。大眾!畢竟歸宗道的是?昭慶道J36nB359_p0622a20的是?儻若躊躇,君向瀟湘我向秦。」
J36nB359_p0622a21薦亡,請上堂。「滿林秋色正芬芳,帶醉芙蓉笑夕陽。識J36nB359_p0622a22得嚴親真面目,分明格外好風光。好風光,端的別,彌J36nB359_p0622a23陀不在安養國。既不在安養國,即今在甚麼處?」畫○J36nB359_p0622a24云:「長空雲散家家月。」
J36nB359_p0622a25上堂。「佛法本來無可說,何須特地更饒舌?今朝恰遇J36nB359_p0622a26小陽春,也要山僧應時節。」擊拂,云:「大眾!者是甚麼時J36nB359_p0622a27節?香嚴擊竹也不離者時節、靈雲見桃花也不離者J36nB359_p0622a28時節、洞山睹影也不離者時節、玄沙𡎺指也不離者J36nB359_p0622a29時節,乃至見色明心、聞聲悟道,觸著、磕著,一念相應、J36nB359_p0622a30心華發現,總不離者時節。只如不落因緣時節又作J36nB359_p0622b01麼生?」擊拂,云:「不離當處常湛然,覓即知君不可見。」
J36nB359_p0622b02至蘆菴,請上堂。「法離見聞覺知,若求見聞覺知,是見J36nB359_p0622b03聞覺知,非求法也。直饒過去古佛猶不免抱橋柱洗J36nB359_p0622b04腳,山僧則不然。」豎拂,云:「大眾!看看!只者箇不落見聞J36nB359_p0622b05覺知,迥超情識意想,三世諸佛、歷代祖師以及一切J36nB359_p0622b06眾生,莫不承此恩光作諸佛事。大眾!還見麼?見與不J36nB359_p0622b07見,拈過一邊。只如昨夜陝府鐵牛與嘉州大象廝撲,J36nB359_p0622b08嚇得無邊身菩薩走向三千里外,躲入藕絲孔中。且J36nB359_p0622b09道是箇甚麼意旨?」良久,云:「識法者懼。」
J36nB359_p0622b10至廣福鎮,請上堂。「紛紛細雨,偏麗乳酪於長空;冽冽J36nB359_p0622b11霜風,密布寒夙於大地。水流雲興,共演不二之法門;J36nB359_p0622b12猿啼鶴唳,競談一乘之玅旨。到者裏,人人是佛、箇箇J36nB359_p0622b13是祖,本來現成阿誰無分?又那管城市山林、鄉村野J36nB359_p0622b14店?正好拖泥帶水,隨處為人。雖然,當知我衲僧家有J36nB359_p0622b15超佛越祖一大奇特事在。如何是奇特事?」顧左右,云:J36nB359_p0622b16「因甚鍼眼魚,吞卻占波國?」
J36nB359_p0622b17至江灣保寧寺,請上堂。「古殿崔嵬,昔日之真風不墜;J36nB359_p0622b18層樓突兀,今時之氣象彌新。路接雲衢而車馬絡繹,J36nB359_p0622b19門連江浦而歌棹頻聞。左之、右之,無殊玅莊嚴海;舉J36nB359_p0622b20足、下足,何異菩提覺場?到者裏,正好全身擔荷、竭力J36nB359_p0622b21提持,轉自己歸山河大地、將山河大地轉歸自己,自J36nB359_p0622b22己與山河大地無別、無二。大眾!還委悉麼?知音不必J36nB359_p0622b23輕彈指,千里同風始是奇。」復舉:「昔世尊一日因食時J36nB359_p0622b24命阿難入城持缽,復云:『當依七佛儀式。』阿難云:『如何J36nB359_p0622b25是七佛儀式?』世尊遂喚阿難,阿難即應諾,世尊云:『持J36nB359_p0622b26缽去。』」乃云:「大小瞿曇也是無風起浪,慶喜尊者無端J36nB359_p0622b27被人點破面門,正眼看來二俱狼籍,山僧與他據款J36nB359_p0622b28結案。」揮拂子,云:「輕舠箬笠曉風寒,深淺何妨便下竿?J36nB359_p0622b29一曲滄浪人不薦,且隨白鷺過江灣。」
J36nB359_p0622b30至南翔彌陀殿,請上堂。「當陽一句,迥絕遮攔;格外真J36nB359_p0622c01機,了無背向。到者裏,通身是口,談之不及;渾身是眼,J36nB359_p0622c02見之不到。所以,釋迦掩室於摩竭、淨名杜口於毘耶,J36nB359_p0622c03須菩提無說而顯道、釋梵王絕聽而散花。若是箇超J36nB359_p0622c04群拔萃漢,不妨掩耳即行。有甚麼事?有麼?有麼?若無,J36nB359_p0622c05更向葛藤裏薦取。」舉:「昔王荊公謂同僚曰:『我得雪峰J36nB359_p0622c06和尚一句子,直至而今為宰相。』同僚請益,公豎起拳,J36nB359_p0622c07云:『者箇是甚麼?』同僚罔測。」乃云:「荊公之器小哉!若論J36nB359_p0622c08者一句子,輝天鑑地、括古囊今,諸佛得之而成正覺、J36nB359_p0622c09菩薩得之而行六度、聲聞得之而證四諦、君得之而J36nB359_p0622c10為堯舜禹湯、臣得之而為皋陶伊尹、父得之而慈、子J36nB359_p0622c11得之而孝、朋友得之而信,世、出世間之事無有不從J36nB359_p0622c12者一句而得,豈止為宰相而已?大眾且道:畢竟是那J36nB359_p0622c13一句子?」顧左右,云:「寧可截舌,不犯國諱。」
J36nB359_p0622c14至清風菴上堂。卓拄杖云:「只者箇有眼不可睹,睹之J36nB359_p0622c15如盲;有耳不可聞,聞之如聾。乃至不可嗅、不可談、不J36nB359_p0622c16可觸、不可思,從本已來,離言說相、離名字相、離心緣J36nB359_p0622c17相,離非有相、非無相、非非無相、非非有相、非有無俱J36nB359_p0622c18相、非一相、非異相、非一異俱相,可謂言語道斷,心行J36nB359_p0622c19處滅。雖然,只如泥牛銜月、木馬嘶風,露柱罵燈籠、山J36nB359_p0622c20門騎佛殿,且道是甚麼人境界?」復卓拄杖云:「孤舟棹J36nB359_p0622c21出婁江月,下載清風付與誰?」
J36nB359_p0622c22至茜涇福林庵,上堂。「薰風至而殿閣涼生,柳陰濃而J36nB359_p0622c23池塘綠暗,茜水舒諸佛之長舌,福林彰衲僧之巴鼻,J36nB359_p0622c24明明獨露,卓卓全該,迥絕言詮,安容穿鑿?直得生佛J36nB359_p0622c25一體、愚智一如,無高無下、無古無今,正好於祖師門J36nB359_p0622c26下各出隻手,扶豎正教,共挽頹風,光我法幢。且道誰J36nB359_p0622c27是其人?若真獅子兒,哮吼也驚群。」
