J34nB300_p0229c04大悲誕日解制,章弢方居士為祝嚴壽請上堂。云:「百J34nB300_p0229c05日禪期圓滿日,大悲示現受生時,就中一著無窮量,J34nB300_p0229c06用祝檀那壽算齊。諸大德!莫遲疑,二月山禽處處啼,J34nB300_p0229c07圓通門大啟,何事隔雲泥?腰包頂笠出門去,爭如撒J34nB300_p0229c08手便歸期?阿呵呵!也大奇,自繇自在,無絆無羈,四恩J34nB300_p0229c09總報,三有齊資,分明佛法無多子,不是飽參人不知。」J34nB300_p0229c10下座。
J34nB300_p0229c11上堂。僧問:「西河火裏坐即不問,東山水上行意旨如J34nB300_p0229c12何?」師云:「烈焰堆中月嘗炤。」進云:「熏風自南來,殿閣生J34nB300_p0229c13微涼,又作麼生?」師云:「腳跟下七花八裂。」進云:「有句無J34nB300_p0229c14句,如藤倚樹時如何?」師豎拂,云:「也秖到得者裏。」進云:J34nB300_p0229c15「樹倒藤枯,句歸何處?」師放下拂子,僧云:「一狀領過。」師J34nB300_p0229c16云:「只如溈山呵呵大笑,意旨如何?」僧無語,師云:「自從J34nB300_p0229c17發焰寒爐後,信手拈來尾作頭。」問:「如何是心識不到J34nB300_p0229c18處?」師云:「逼塞虛空。」進云:「轉機不圓時如何?」師云:「橫抽J34nB300_p0229c19寶劍。」進云:「一口氣不來時如何?」師便打。問:「急浪灘頭J34nB300_p0229c20如何得過?」師云:「一直便走。」進云:「高峰頂上如何轉身?」J34nB300_p0229c21師云:「切莫住腳。」進云:「百尺竿頭如何進步?」師云:「速退,J34nB300_p0229c22速退。」進云:「恁麼則撒手懸崖去也。」師打,云:「全副交足。」J34nB300_p0229c23問:「千聖難明不了因,代代相傳古到今,如何是不了J34nB300_p0229c24因?」師云:「相傳底事作麼生?」進云:「不知傳箇甚麼?」進云:J34nB300_p0229c25「者便是不了因。」進云:「今日曹山重舉似,鐵樹花開別J34nB300_p0229c26是春。如何是鐵樹花開?」師云:「壺中日月長。」遂舉:「世尊J34nB300_p0229c27因文殊起法見、佛見,被世尊威神攝向二鐵圍山。白J34nB300_p0229c28雲端和尚云:『大眾!世尊當時無大人相,如今有向承J34nB300_p0229c29天者裏起法見、佛見,承天終不敢動著他。何謂如此?J34nB300_p0229c30但得雪消去,自然春到來。』五祖演和尚云:『白雲則具J34nB300_p0230a01大慈悲。』遂拍手,云:『曼殊室利、普賢大士不審今後更J34nB300_p0230a02敢也無?』自云:『一度被蛇傷,怕見斷井索。』」師云:「世尊、白J34nB300_p0230a03雲、五祖三大老將謂扶豎綱宗,要且未透末後句在。J34nB300_p0230a04曹山則不然,忽有向者裏起法見、佛見,每人分半院J34nB300_p0230a05與他。何謂如此?一掌不獨拍,兩掌鳴摑摑,同死亦同J34nB300_p0230a06生,還如虎戴角。」卓拄杖,下座。
J34nB300_p0230a07上堂。僧問:「苦海無舟,如何得度?」師云:「不用回頭轉腦。」J34nB300_p0230a08問:「如天普蓋,嘗見日月光輝;似地普擎,萬古山河永J34nB300_p0230a09固。正當恁麼時,承誰恩力?」師云:「目前無一法,當處亦J34nB300_p0230a10無人。」進云:「宗乘一唱,三藏絕詮;祖令當行,十方坐斷。J34nB300_p0230a11報恩一句作麼生道?」師云:「一口吞盡。」進云:「臨濟三玄J34nB300_p0230a12驗作家,如何是體中玄?」師云:「萬象森羅宇宙寬。」進云:J34nB300_p0230a13「如何是句中玄?」師云:「雲陣輝輝急如電。」進云:「如何是J34nB300_p0230a14玄中玄?」師云:「佛祖髑髏一串穿。」乃云:「千差合轍,萬派J34nB300_p0230a15歸源,抹卻三玄門,瞎卻正法眼,一一從胸襟流出,自J34nB300_p0230a16然七縱八橫,東湧西沒。南湧北沒則且置,絕承當一J34nB300_p0230a17句作麼生?春風春雨急,春鳥鳴相催。」下座。
J34nB300_p0230a18檀越請上堂。云:「一者祈福,二者薦亡,一椎兩當,舉世J34nB300_p0230a19無雙。既兩當,因甚卻無雙?下不厭地獄,上不欣天堂,J34nB300_p0230a20當陽突出露堂堂,鷓鴣啼處百花香。」喝一喝,遂舉:「《金J34nB300_p0230a21剛經》云:『若見諸相非相,即見如來。』」師云:「大小世尊抱J34nB300_p0230a22橋柱洗澡。曹山則不然,若見諸相非相,即見諸相。須J34nB300_p0230a23知要見如來則易,要見諸相則難。若人道得不難不J34nB300_p0230a24易句,一生參學事畢。」卓拄杖,下座。
J34nB300_p0230a25開藏經,上堂。捧起經,云:「始自鹿野苑,終至跋提河,其J34nB300_p0230a26間大小頓漸、半滿偏圓,盡在者一毫頭上。所以道:『摩J34nB300_p0230a27尼珠,人不識,如來藏裏親收得。』」遂打開,云:「我今對眾J34nB300_p0230a28打開時,一會靈山難辨別。休辨別,一切數句非數句,J34nB300_p0230a29與吾靈覺何交涉?直須言外度迷情,破塵出經能事J34nB300_p0230a30畢。其或未然,一任長期短期、尋行數墨,尋到臨末梢J34nB300_p0230b01頭,依舊一卷是一卷、一帙是一帙。何故聻?五千餘卷J34nB300_p0230b02非文字,四十九年未曾說。」下座。
J34nB300_p0230b03曹山開堂回靈石,尼僧請上堂。云:「分佛分祖,破二作J34nB300_p0230b04三;合水合泥,兼兩成一。如將蜜棗子換汝苦葫蘆,淘J34nB300_p0230b05汰諸人業根,待汝桶底子脫。豈謂實有此事?所以南J34nB300_p0230b06泉道:『黃梅五百僧俱是會佛法底,惟有盧行者一人J34nB300_p0230b07不會佛法,只會道。』且道:佛法與道是同?是別?若道是J34nB300_p0230b08別,為甚臨濟道:『真佛無形,真法無相,真道無體,三法J34nB300_p0230b09渾融,和合一處。』若道是同,為甚南泉道:『盧行者不會J34nB300_p0230b10佛法,只會道。』且淆訛在甚麼處?」良久,云:「師姑原是女J34nB300_p0230b11人做。」下座。
J34nB300_p0230b12浴佛日,海口彌陀寺陞座,問答不錄。師云:「彌陀寺裏J34nB300_p0230b13釋迦誕生,僧俗堅請法座高陞,諸佛菩薩一齊稽首,J34nB300_p0230b14穢邦淨土一道均平,所以周行七步而四顧,指天指J34nB300_p0230b15地以稱尊。如來出世不為別事,虛空大地更無別人,J34nB300_p0230b16大眾識取鉤頭意,莫認定盤星。自古真金不博金,那J34nB300_p0230b17堪屈己以從人?即今便好猛提取,莫待須臾水潑身。」J34nB300_p0230b18下座。
J34nB300_p0230b19靈祐請,師回退靈石,復過福州南禪寺,主僧請陞座。J34nB300_p0230b20師云:「此地去年離此日,今年此地此時來,此時此地J34nB300_p0230b21曾無異,何物其中得往回?所以肇法師道:『生死交謝,J34nB300_p0230b22寒暑迭遷,有物流轉,人之嘗情。余則謂之不然。』何故J34nB300_p0230b23聻?松直棘曲,鵠白鳥玄,四月黃梅雨滿田,叵耐時人J34nB300_p0230b24渾不薦,舉心動念隔天淵。」驀拈拄杖云:「隔天淵,拄杖J34nB300_p0230b25都來一串穿,吳地閩山千里遠,不移一步已周旋。且J34nB300_p0230b26轉身一句又作麼生?待天色晴,溪水退時,向諸人道J34nB300_p0230b27破。」卓拄杖,下座。
J34nB300_p0230b28師過建寧府,百癡元菴主領眾請至蓮峰陞座。遂舉:J34nB300_p0230b29「應菴禪師住蔣山時,大慧禪師至菴。上堂,舉:『佛眼初J34nB300_p0230b30作無為軍化主,因道中著擷,有箇省處,歸舉似五祖J34nB300_p0230c01演。演令充知客,因夜坐撥火,忽然猛省。雖然如是,每J34nB300_p0230c02至入室,未能深入閫奧,從容請益五祖。祖云:「我為你J34nB300_p0230c03說箇喻子,正如一人牽一頭牛從窗櫺中過,頭角四J34nB300_p0230c04蹄都過了,只有尾巴過不得。」』菴云:『者箇說話多年在J34nB300_p0230c05肚皮裏,信知在今天下無人理會得,所以密之三寸。J34nB300_p0230c06苟非法叔老師到來,小姪此生無因拈出。敢問諸人:J34nB300_p0230c07既是大底過了,如何尾巴卻過不得?且道淆訛在甚J34nB300_p0230c08麼處?』」師云:「靈祐當年發悟之後亦患此病,窮究有年,J34nB300_p0230c09方能徹法源底。今日若非元公法姪堅請,亦未敢輕J34nB300_p0230c10舉似人,蓋為者箇說話邪解者多,不堪共語。今日略J34nB300_p0230c11舉數種,為諸人點破。有一種道:『既是大底過了,豈有J34nB300_p0230c12小底過不得?者不過是紅綿索子套人法兒。我今也J34nB300_p0230c13不管是頭、也不管是尾,只是千問千打、萬問萬打,只J34nB300_p0230c14管打將去,自然過得。』似則也似,是則未是。何故聻?只J34nB300_p0230c15恁麼強作主宰,一味打去,難定真偽,莫教開著口、動J34nB300_p0230c16著筆,便露出馬腳來。秪為尾巴不曾過得。未免古今J34nB300_p0230c17公案,有義路可以咬嚼者,只一箇本來人穿去便了。J34nB300_p0230c18莫無義路,如銀山鐵壁者便吞吐不下,只是再不敢J34nB300_p0230c19提起。即或強為註解,亦未免七零八碎,取笑識者。又J34nB300_p0230c20有一種道:『頭角四蹄都過了,只是自相不忘,家珍難J34nB300_p0230c21捨。但從前寶惜一時放下,自然淨裸裸、赤灑灑,便是J34nB300_p0230c22尾巴過處。』又有一種道:『頭角四蹄都過了,此是單明J34nB300_p0230c23本分事。靈雲見桃花、德山低頭歸方丈,亦是此意,未J34nB300_p0230c24有為人之句。所以玄沙道:「未徹巖頭道,未會末後句。」J34nB300_p0230c25但識得尾巴過不得,便是為人時把住放行底本據。』J34nB300_p0230c26端的父傳子、子傳孫,只恁麼實法傳將去,玷辱先宗。J34nB300_p0230c27又有一種道:『者箇說話與高峰「大徹底人本脫生死,J34nB300_p0230c28因甚命根不斷」話不同。高峰話是體上事,命根是要J34nB300_p0230c29斷底,者箇尾巴是不要過底,謂之尾大鐵櫺堅,以古J34nB300_p0230c30人末後一句始到牢關,把斷要津、不通凡聖為證,謂J34nB300_p0231a01之大法中末後句。』如斯等解,稱鄭、稱楊,豈不鈍置殺J34nB300_p0231a02人?胡不思大慧、應菴出世時,諸方說法者如麻似粟,J34nB300_p0231a03豈可全無見解?因甚應菴道:『在今天下無人理會得?』J34nB300_p0231a04須知不是者箇道理。然雖如是,既是大底過了,因甚J34nB300_p0231a05尾巴過不得?」便下座。
J34nB300_p0231a06至寶光寺,請陞座。乃云:「地、水、火、風是金剛正體,生、老、J34nB300_p0231a07病、死乃大解脫門,所以諸佛、眾生同有一病。諸佛不J34nB300_p0231a08病,為伊惺惺;眾生若病,即非眾生。今日陳居士為祖J34nB300_p0231a09母謝氏有病,請靈祐舉揚般若,祈保身心清淨,永脫J34nB300_p0231a10病根。諸人須知,要脫病根,直須病此一病。若也病得,J34nB300_p0231a11則直下無有第二人、不起第二念,身病、心病立地冰J34nB300_p0231a12消,生死、涅槃俱為夢幻,便好山間林下長養聖胎,隨J34nB300_p0231a13緣消舊業,任運過時光。雖然,自了即得。若要踞寶華J34nB300_p0231a14王座闡揚佛祖向上宗猷,更須到靈祐爐鞴中煆過,J34nB300_p0231a15方堪保任全提。還知麼?全提一句絕思惟,合不成團J34nB300_p0231a16開不離,獨許眼親手辨者,電光影裏不停機。」下座。
J34nB300_p0231a17到地藏院,請陞座。師云:「凡情聖見是生死路,聖凡情J34nB300_p0231a18盡是出生死路,如楔出楔,藥病相治,或時以病為藥、J34nB300_p0231a19或時以藥為病,雖是濟世良方,未離對待。所以,一大J34nB300_p0231a20歲教是弄猢猻圈子,五家宗旨是祭鬼神茶飯。且獨J34nB300_p0231a21脫一句作麼生?」卓拄杖,云:「不依倚一物,顯示本來人。」J34nB300_p0231a22下座。
住韶州曹溪南華禪寺語錄
J34nB300_p0231a24崇禎辛巳年,師在金陵天隆寺,受南都護法集生余J34nB300_p0231a25中丞慶繩、葉廷尉二無、張勳卿、本省南韶蒼雲魏僉J34nB300_p0231a26憲、本府至鵠許司李,并本山耆舊智融、監院弘識等J34nB300_p0231a27請,於七月初二日入寺。到曹溪門。「萬派源流從此出,J34nB300_p0231a28萬派朝宗從此入。還有從不出入者麼?」良久,云:「不得J34nB300_p0231a29錯下註腳。」便入。
J34nB300_p0231a30佛殿。拈香,云:「有佛然後有祖。金襴未付以前,若不是J34nB300_p0231b01者漢,爭得西天東土、四七二三傳到者裏?」遂拜。
J34nB300_p0231b02六祖殿。拈香云:「有祖然後有佛,衣缽東來之後,若不J34nB300_p0231b03是者漢,爭得二枝五葉?道滿天下,報佛深恩。」遂拜。
J34nB300_p0231b04方丈。「不肖見處與佛祖不別,所以一入門來,逢佛禮J34nB300_p0231b05佛、逢祖禮祖,然猶是向下提持兒孫邊事。即今據此J34nB300_p0231b06室、行此令,且道如何是向上提持祖佛為師一句?」卓J34nB300_p0231b07拄杖,云:「只憑者箇沒意智,煆盡下中上上人。」當日,大J34nB300_p0231b08眾請上堂。拈香祝聖罷,又拈香,云:「此一瓣香供養本J34nB300_p0231b09山堂上J34nB300_p0231b10六祖大師并直下三十四世孫現住天童堂上密雲J34nB300_p0231b11和尚,以酬法乳之恩。」就座,維那白椎竟,師云:「第一義J34nB300_p0231b12諦時時現前,驀然磕著不隔毫端,還有共相證據者J34nB300_p0231b13麼?」僧問:「曹溪西水似西天,衝破雲霄海嶽穿,今日天J34nB300_p0231b14隆來普潤,幾人能踏上頭關?」師云:「箇箇成佛作祖。」進J34nB300_p0231b15云:「恁麼則人人腳跟點地去也。」師云:「不得抄襲山僧J34nB300_p0231b16話。」進云:「謝師答話。」師云:「何得又謗山僧?」乃云:「諸佛諸J34nB300_p0231b17祖唯以一大事因緣故出現於世。據實論,此一大事J34nB300_p0231b18因緣不用開口、不用動念,直下一一天真、一一明玅,J34nB300_p0231b19秖貴直截契證,超越死生,不離見聞緣,超然登佛地。J34nB300_p0231b20所以,世尊於明星秖得一睹,六祖於《金剛經》直用一J34nB300_p0231b21聞。諸公若也得恁麼一回去,便堪傳佛心印,方為佛J34nB300_p0231b22祖嫡骨兒孫。所以,靈山會上世尊拈花、迦葉微笑,便J34nB300_p0231b23乃親傳世尊之印,謂之正法眼藏。西天四七、東土二J34nB300_p0231b24三,傳至第三十三世,本山六祖大師謂之吾有一物。J34nB300_p0231b25後得南嶽讓禪師道箇『喚作一物即不中』,便乃親傳J34nB300_p0231b26六祖之印。自讓為始,直下傳至三十五世,不肖孫通J34nB300_p0231b27忍於天童和尚『自肉食不盡』言下打破漆桶,親蒙印J34nB300_p0231b28授,潛心操履有年,方乃深契佛祖之道,方不媿為六J34nB300_p0231b29祖嫡孫,所以本山乃六祖說法之地。今日承南都諸J34nB300_p0231b30護法會合本省現任諸護法,命本山耆舊不遠三千J34nB300_p0231c01餘里迎不肖歸祖師之舊室、登祖師之舊堂、陞祖師J34nB300_p0231c02之舊座,舉揚祖師底現成舊公案,直令千年舊事頓J34nB300_p0231c03現目前,曹溪一會儼然未散。試問諸人:既是現成舊J34nB300_p0231c04公案,又用舉作甚麼?迴機同本得,一舉一回新。」復舉:J34nB300_p0231c05「六祖傳衣缽之後,隱於四會獵中十五年。一日,忽念J34nB300_p0231c06說法時至,遂至廣州法性寺。暮夜,風颺剎旛,聞二僧J34nB300_p0231c07對論,一曰旛動、一曰風動,往復不已。祖曰:『不是風動、J34nB300_p0231c08不是旛動,仁者心動。』一眾竦然。」師云:「二僧平地起干J34nB300_p0231c09戈,一得一失;六祖按牛頭喫艸,雙放雙收。簡點將來,J34nB300_p0231c10總欠一著在。」豎拂子,召大眾,云:「還見麼?只者本來真J34nB300_p0231c11面目,風旛心動絕安排。」維那白椎,云:「諦觀法王法,法J34nB300_p0231c12王法如是。」下座。
J34nB300_p0231c13六祖涅槃日,上堂。僧問:「法雷已震,選佛場開,不昧宗J34nB300_p0231c14乘,請師直指。」師云:「試道看。」僧一喝,師云:「曲了也。」進云:J34nB300_p0231c15「不是倩來底。」師云:「話頭也不識。」僧提起坐具,云:「摩竭J34nB300_p0231c16提國親行此令去也。」師云:「且緩緩。」問:「人人道六祖八J34nB300_p0231c17月初三日涅槃,某甲道八月初三日住世,請和尚道J34nB300_p0231c18一句。」師云:「離卻兩頭。」進云:「中間作麼生?」師打,云:「是阿J34nB300_p0231c19誰?」問:「靈山親囑老頭陀,續燄聯芳也不多,四七二三J34nB300_p0231c20傳到此,五家一脈意如何?」師云:「只在者裏。」進云:「恁麼J34nB300_p0231c21則撐天拄地無人識,逼塞虛空古至今。」師云:「著急作J34nB300_p0231c22麼?」僧作咳嗽聲,師云:「情知你弄精魂。」僧拂坐具,歸眾。J34nB300_p0231c23問:「身前身後即不問,當下一句事如何?」師云:「一刀兩J34nB300_p0231c24段。」進云:「如何是轉身一路?」師云:「切莫亂走。」問:「盧祖涅J34nB300_p0231c25槃日,吾師陞座時,水雲千匝繞,渴仰一言施。」師云:「水J34nB300_p0231c26雲千匝繞。」進云:「一句親拈出,阿誰不沾恩?」師云:「試道J34nB300_p0231c27看。」僧便喝,師便打。進云:「棒喝交馳即不無,端的一句J34nB300_p0231c28請師道。」師又打,云:「難道不端的?」進云:「恁麼則禮拜和J34nB300_p0231c29尚去也。」師云:「切莫承虛接響。」僧一喝,歸眾。師乃云:「三J34nB300_p0231c30更傳法來,衣缽留時已破;三更涅槃去,全身散處還J34nB300_p0232a01留。破無所破,片片露祖師面孔;留無所留,年年逢入J34nB300_p0232a02滅時辰。大眾!且道祖師還曾入滅也無?若道入滅,因J34nB300_p0232a03甚千人萬人來朝拜箇甚麼?若道不入滅,因甚箇箇J34nB300_p0232a04都道是祖師底忌日?本無出沒本來身,超生脫死憑J34nB300_p0232a05斯旨,雖然示現有去來,究竟何曾離者裏?大眾!莫是J34nB300_p0232a06象山鼻下、缽孟峰前是者裏麼?者是一塊頑土,有甚J34nB300_p0232a07麼交涉?莫是全身布漆、錦繡莊嚴是者裏麼?者是箇J34nB300_p0232a08臭皮囊,有甚麼交涉?既俱不是,且作麼生是不曾離J34nB300_p0232a09底意?」良久,云:「梧桐葉落子方老,丹桂香飄蕊正鮮。」卓J34nB300_p0232a10拄杖,下座。
J34nB300_p0232a11曾行腕等語上堂。僧問:「不問有無良久,然道正下知J34nB300_p0232a12歸。今日和尚說法,還有知恩者無?」師云:「汝未知歸在。」J34nB300_p0232a13進云:「只如何難道此人見何道理便踴躍而去?意作J34nB300_p0232a14麼生?」師云:「蝦跳不出斗。」進云:「世尊道:『如世良馬見鞭J34nB300_p0232a15影而行。』還是直指語?是因病語?」師云:「也是壓良為賤。」J34nB300_p0232a16僧舉坐具云:「還出得者箇麼?」師云:「試斷看。」僧一喝,師J34nB300_p0232a17云:「同坑無異土。」乃云:「魔佛之分毫忽間,反邪歸正有J34nB300_p0232a18何難?剎那滅卻阿鼻業,不動纖塵透祖關。今日蓋為J34nB300_p0232a19曾行勝等各為生死事大,發心修行,未聞正法,誤受J34nB300_p0232a20邪師指授,妄說未來禍福,師資相傳,謂之末後一著,J34nB300_p0232a21心中疑信相半,特入曹溪請質。山僧向渠道:此是惑J34nB300_p0232a22人之術,不可聽信。直饒真具五通,總非修行正路。須J34nB300_p0232a23知古人道:『自從踏著曹溪路,了知生死不相干。』還知J34nB300_p0232a24曹溪路麼?便是達磨西來直指人心、見性成佛底一J34nB300_p0232a25著子。秪為人人生死事大,世人秖知呱地一聲時謂J34nB300_p0232a26之生,不知未生前底面目便是生大;秖知一口氣不J34nB300_p0232a27來謂之死,不知死後底安身立命處便是死大。須直J34nB300_p0232a28下見明自性,即造無生無死之域。蓋為自性本無生J34nB300_p0232a29死,只此便謂之末後一著。若捨此別有,盡是魔說。行J34nB300_p0232a30勝等聞之,悲喜交集,踴躍懺悔,至心皈依,特請山僧J34nB300_p0232b01開示成佛作祖之正路,證明反邪歸正之原因。大眾!J34nB300_p0232b02汝當至心懺悔,達罪性空。罪性既空,自性三寶一時J34nB300_p0232b03發現。我今為汝等開示自性三皈法門,令汝直下便J34nB300_p0232b04了。」詞繁不錄。復如式授三自皈法,下座。
J34nB300_p0232b05開爐,結制,上堂。僧問:「選佛場開,大眾雲集,朕兆未分J34nB300_p0232b06前,還許學人下筆也無?」師云:「許。」僧進語,師云:「鷂子過J34nB300_p0232b07新羅。」問:「祖道重開則不問,正法眼藏請師示現。」師云:J34nB300_p0232b08「眉毛下。」進云:「恁麼則靈山一會,今日儼然。」師云:「何必J34nB300_p0232b09靈山?」僧擬議,師便喝,乃云:「把住繩頭,結百千萬億為J34nB300_p0232b10一綱;大開爐鞴,鎔缾盤釵釧為一金。密密綿綿,古往J34nB300_p0232b11今來無可擬;堂堂赫赫,上天下地莫能儔。直得千聖J34nB300_p0232b12躋攀無路,萬靈景仰無門,魔外潛蹤,狐狼絕蹟。且道J34nB300_p0232b13具甚麼神通得恁麼自在?衲被蒙頭萬事休,此時山J34nB300_p0232b14僧都不會。」下座。
J34nB300_p0232b15上堂。僧問:「西水堂前拈祖令,曹溪佛法再來新。如何J34nB300_p0232b16是曹溪佛法?」師云:「東廊也喫者口水,西廊也喫者口J34nB300_p0232b17水。」進云:「恁麼則嘗然如是也。」師云:「那裏得者消息來?」J34nB300_p0232b18進云:「從淨意中得來。」師笑云:「露出馬腳。」問:「聖凡同聚,J34nB300_p0232b19大智爐開。如何是祖師心印?」師拈起拄杖。進云:「恁麼J34nB300_p0232b20則坐斷千差去也。」師云:「如何是坐斷千差底意?」進云:J34nB300_p0232b21「一句了然超百億。」師便打,乃云:「以有下劣,寶几珍御;J34nB300_p0232b22以有驚異,狸奴白牯。佛祖出世,從無一法與人,只教J34nB300_p0232b23人除去從前惡知惡見,便是灑灑落落底漢。所以經J34nB300_p0232b24中道:『二十年來,嘗令除諸法戲論之糞。』還知糞麼?便J34nB300_p0232b25自不能直下自信,生下劣見,生生掘箇凡夫坑,一坐J34nB300_p0232b26坐住,便視佛祖之道如登天之難,此乃下劣之糞。又J34nB300_p0232b27有鹵莽擔當,探頭太過,生驚異之見,十二時中不得J34nB300_p0232b28平帖,覓佛、覓祖、覓禪、覓道、覓機鋒轉語,坐在所知境J34nB300_p0232b29界,此乃驚異之糞。從上先聖見下劣者,現寶几珍御,J34nB300_p0232b30使你自知尊貴,亦非實法;見驚異者,現狸奴白牯,使J34nB300_p0232c01你太平無事,亦非實法。若透得箇無實法,則馳求之J34nB300_p0232c02心自歇,戲論之糞亦除,更有甚麼事?」遂舉:「六祖在黃J34nB300_p0232c03梅時,五祖將傳衣缽令眾作偈,神秀書偈於壁,六祖J34nB300_p0232c04云:『未見本性在。』亦倩人書偈,一眾無不驚怪。五祖見J34nB300_p0232c05之,恐人損害,遂以鞋擦偈云:『亦未見性在。』」師云:「六祖J34nB300_p0232c06雖則據令而行,大似法身理障,幸得五祖一擦,鎔盡J34nB300_p0232c07規模,果見後代兒孫光明烜赫,今日不免更為從頭J34nB300_p0232c08註破,免見淆訛。還知六祖麼?因見神秀有下劣之偈,J34nB300_p0232c09乃云:『未見本性在。』便偈述寶几珍御之尊貴,其實於J34nB300_p0232c10六祖分上沒交涉。還知五祖麼?因見眾人有驚怪之J34nB300_p0232c11心,乃云:『亦未見性在。』便擦出狸奴白牯之癡憨,其實J34nB300_p0232c12於六祖分上亦沒交涉。然只如六祖道:五祖恐人損J34nB300_p0232c13害。遂以鞋擦偈,往往相傳以來,只作五祖瞞眾人會。J34nB300_p0232c14若恁麼,只成世諦,不見五祖用處。還知端的麼?全提J34nB300_p0232c15正令處,隨類現身時。既全提正令,隨類現身,便道五J34nB300_p0232c16祖瞞眾人,有甚麼不是處?」下座。
J34nB300_p0232c17上堂。僧問:「四大不分萬象主,色遷寒暑有凋零。如何J34nB300_p0232c18是不避寒暑底意?」師云:「樹蠻不落葉。」進云:「今日是冬J34nB300_p0232c19至。」師云:「若作冬至會,入地獄如箭射。」進云:「和尚又作J34nB300_p0232c20麼生?」師云:「天蠻不下雪。」進云:「恁麼則寒時寒殺闍黎、J34nB300_p0232c21熱時熱殺闍黎。」師云:「未是腳跟下事在。」進云:「和尚又J34nB300_p0232c22生頭角。」師乃笑。問:「大開紅爐,烹佛烹祖;建立法幢,摧J34nB300_p0232c23邪顯正。爐鞴法幢則不問,如何是邪?是正?」師展兩手。J34nB300_p0232c24進云:「坐斷邪正去在。」師云:「見甚麼道理便恁麼道?」僧J34nB300_p0232c25便喝,師便打。問:「寒來暑往即不問,如何是今日秋收J34nB300_p0232c26冬藏底意?」師云:「一九二九,相喚不出手。」進云:「身非我J34nB300_p0232c27有,為甚麼認著者裏藏身?」師打,云:「誰教你者裏藏身?」J34nB300_p0232c28進云:「如來法眼通天徹地,為甚麼者裏不藏身?」師又J34nB300_p0232c29打,云:「誰教你者裏不藏身?」進云:「人人與佛齊肩,和尚J34nB300_p0232c30今日上堂有何法說?」師又打,云:「且道是藏身?是不藏J34nB300_p0233a01身?」問:「身前身後、變驢變馬則不問,未開口時請和尚J34nB300_p0233a02道一句。」師云:「問者畜生作麼?」進云:「風吹不響鈴兒艸,J34nB300_p0233a03雨打無聲鼓子花。」師云:「那裏得者消息來?」僧一喝,師J34nB300_p0233a04云:「你試道看。」僧擬開口,師擉退,乃云:「藏身處沒蹤蹟,J34nB300_p0233a05風吹不響鈴兒艸;沒蹤蹟處莫藏身,雨打無聲鼓子J34nB300_p0233a06花。若向者裏會得,朕兆未分早已全彰文彩,全彰文J34nB300_p0233a07彩依然朕兆未分。所以,枯幹重榮,未是衲僧境界;冰J34nB300_p0233a08河發燄,灼然歷祖家風。一等是箇時節,為甚有得?有J34nB300_p0233a09不得?雪粉易分光燦燦,墨煤難辨黑漫漫。」下座。
J34nB300_p0233a10臘八,上堂。僧問:「欲求無上菩提,當受三皈大戒。無上J34nB300_p0233a11菩提則不問,如何是三皈大戒?」師豎拄杖,云:「喚作拄J34nB300_p0233a12杖則觸,不喚作拄杖則背。」進云:「即此一舉,是戒體邪?J34nB300_p0233a13是戒相邪?」師便打,僧禮拜。師云:「眾生受佛戒,即入諸J34nB300_p0233a14佛位,位同大覺已,真是諸佛子。」進云:「謝師指示。」師云:J34nB300_p0233a15「三十年後不得道辜負闍黎。」問:「父母非我親,誰是最J34nB300_p0233a16親者?」師云:「誰是最親者?」進云:「諸佛非我道,誰是最道J34nB300_p0233a17者?」師云:「盡情道了也。」進云:「恁麼則燈燈續燄,祖祖相J34nB300_p0233a18傳去。」師云:「仗不得別人。」問:「曹溪意旨甚麼人得?」師云:J34nB300_p0233a19「就是你得。」進云:「和尚還有麼?」師打云:「原諒你承當不J34nB300_p0233a20得。」問:「如何是寶林門外客?」師云:「從來不出門。」進云:「如J34nB300_p0233a21何是寶林門內人?」師云:「且向外邊走。」進云:「如何奪人J34nB300_p0233a22不奪境?」師云:拄杖子。進云:「如何奪境不奪人?」師云:「闍J34nB300_p0233a23黎薦取。」進云:「如何人境兩俱奪?」師便打。進云:「如何是J34nB300_p0233a24人境俱不奪?」師卓拄杖云:「會麼?」問:「七處徵心,八還辨J34nB300_p0233a25見,如何就見?」師云:「直饒就見,也落第二。」進云:「如何要J34nB300_p0233a26見?」師打云:「就見尚不堪,何況要見?」問:「臨濟宗旨則不J34nB300_p0233a27問,曹洞五位事如何?」師云:「他家自有兒孫在。」僧舉:五J34nB300_p0233a28位逐一問畢,師俱不答。僧禮拜云:「謝師答話。」師云:「不J34nB300_p0233a29是不荅,恐辜負自己。」乃云:「始覺合本,頭上安頭,一念J34nB300_p0233a30回機,落七落八。雪山六載,無計可施,夜半睹星,將錯J34nB300_p0233b01就錯。縱使道一切眾生皆證圓覺,未免猶有生佛之J34nB300_p0233b02名,何況更云:『奇哉眾生具有如來智慧德相,皆因妄J34nB300_p0233b03想執著而不證得。』豈不無事生事,誣陷平人?曹溪當J34nB300_p0233b04時若見他恁麼道,但以手掩面,劈開云:『貓!』管教者老J34nB300_p0233b05子夾背汗流,慚惶無地,爭奈罕遇其人,直得祖禰不J34nB300_p0233b06了,殃及兒孫去也。」驀拈拄杖云:「還見明星麼?錯!錯!」下J34nB300_p0233b07座。
J34nB300_p0233b08元旦,上堂。僧問:「明教新年頭有佛法,鏡清新年頭無J34nB300_p0233b09佛法,和尚今日如何?」師豎拂子,云:「兩箇漢一時縛在J34nB300_p0233b10者裏了也。」進云:「某甲不然。」師放下拂子,云:「總換山僧J34nB300_p0233b11機不得。」進云:「三箇無孔鐵錘。」師云:「忽有人問你新年J34nB300_p0233b12頭佛法,你作麼生?」僧豎拳便行,師云:「情知你只得者J34nB300_p0233b13些伎倆。」師云:「從過去看,今日增卻一歲;從未來看,今J34nB300_p0233b14日減卻一歲。若道增也,增到盡未來際亦增無了日;J34nB300_p0233b15若論減也,減到盡未來際亦減無了日。正當今日今J34nB300_p0233b16時,前不屬過去,作麼生增?後不屬未來,作麼生減?無J34nB300_p0233b17減無增,前後際斷,則當人全體現前,廓周沙界,觸處J34nB300_p0233b18無間,舉目了然,博帶峨冠,主賓拜賀,村歌社舞,盃酒J34nB300_p0233b19歡呼,盡是自家境界。到者裏還有轉身處麼?當陽證J34nB300_p0233b20取如如佛,始信今年勝舊年。」下座。
J34nB300_p0233b21解制,上堂。僧問:「有佛處不得住,無佛處急走過,去住J34nB300_p0233b22請師道一句。」師展兩手。進云:「住則全體獨露,去也法J34nB300_p0233b23令當行。」師云:「中間突出真難辨。」進云:「恁麼則去住依J34nB300_p0233b24然。」師云:「末後一句如何?」進云:「不向師道。」師云:「亂道。」乃J34nB300_p0233b25云:「未有長行而不住,結制安禪無處所;未有長住而J34nB300_p0233b26不行,芒鞋拄杖沒途程。便恁麼去,見山不是山,見水J34nB300_p0233b27不是水,有佛處不得住;不恁麼去,見山依舊是山,見J34nB300_p0233b28水依舊是水,無佛處急走過。直饒兩頭不著,中間撒J34nB300_p0233b29開,獨步獨行,灑灑落落,也未是衲僧行腳事在。且如J34nB300_p0233b30何是行腳事?腳跟下好與三十棒。」下座。
J34nB300_p0233c01上堂。云:「棒頭取證,認影迷頭;喝下轉身,偷光鑿壁。直J34nB300_p0233c02得豁開戶牖,大坐當軒,遍界絕毫釐,通身無影像,灑J34nB300_p0233c03灑落落,獨步獨行,猶是百尺竿頭底事,未免坐殺闍J34nB300_p0233c04黎。縱饒更進一步,橫按莫邪,斬斷一切,不立窠臼,殺J34nB300_p0233c05活臨時,若不知有向上事,亦未免走殺闍黎。所以古J34nB300_p0233c06人道:『昨夜雨滂烹,打倒葡萄棚。知事普請,行者人力,J34nB300_p0233c07拄底拄,撐底撐,撐撐拄拄到天明,依舊可憐生。』若向J34nB300_p0233c08者裏透得,方知打倒、撐起俱為夢事。雖然,若一向作J34nB300_p0233c09夢事會,猶未免墮在平嘗,只得太平無事之見,爭透J34nB300_p0233c10得向上人行履處?還有透得者麼?三邊一箭收功後,J34nB300_p0233c11四海何愁不太平?」遂舉:「乾峰上堂云:『舉一不得舉二,J34nB300_p0233c12放過一著落在第二。』雲門出眾云:『昨日有人從天台J34nB300_p0233c13來,卻往徑山去。』峰云:『典座來日不得普請。』便下座。」師J34nB300_p0233c14云:「大小乾峰,龍頭蛇尾,若真箇不放過,何處有雲門J34nB300_p0233c15也?然雖如是,只如乾峰道:『典座來日不得普請。』且道:J34nB300_p0233c16是放過?是不放過?但看兩箇惺惺處,覿面還他懵懂J34nB300_p0233c17時。」下座。
J34nB300_p0233c18浴佛日,上堂。舉:「徑山大慧禪師上堂云:『毘藍園裏不J34nB300_p0233c19曾生,雙林樹下何曾滅?不生不滅見瞿曇,眼中又是J34nB300_p0233c20重添屑。』」師云:「徑山老人雖然把斷要津,大似只見錐J34nB300_p0233c21頭利。曹溪則不然,毘藍園裏不生生,雙林樹下不滅J34nB300_p0233c22滅,生生滅滅見瞿曇,分明惡水當頭潑。眼既無屑,又J34nB300_p0233c23用水潑作麼?若是接物利生,打頭也少者一杓不得。」J34nB300_p0233c24乃顧左右,喝一喝,云:「你諸人因甚一箇箇水漉漉地?」J34nB300_p0233c25下座。
J34nB300_p0233c26六祖涅槃曾上堂。師云:「本來清淨,湛若虛空。情與無J34nB300_p0233c27情,不一不異。大悲願力,方便利機。機感而生,示現有J34nB300_p0233c28餘。機緣既盡,示現無餘。不過應物假名,出處異號。所J34nB300_p0233c29以,六祖大師化緣事畢,不住生死;全身現在,不住涅J34nB300_p0233c30槃。且安身立命一句作麼生道?良久,云:獨露堂堂絕J34nB300_p0234a01有無,自利利他何窮極?」下座。
J34nB300_p0234a02正涅槃日,上堂。師舉:「六祖將入滅,眾問云:『師從此去,J34nB300_p0234a03早晚可回?』祖云:『葉落歸根,來時無口。』後法雲秀禪師J34nB300_p0234a04云:『非但來時無口,去時亦無鼻孔。』」師云:「不是無口,只J34nB300_p0234a05是不來;不是無鼻,只是不去。試看入滅底祖師、現前J34nB300_p0234a06底大眾,各各有口有鼻,有甚麼去來在那裏?諸人要J34nB300_p0234a07參涅槃堂裏禪,直得恁麼始得。」下座。
J34nB300_p0234a08開爐,上堂。僧問:「此是選佛場,當軒開爐鞴,點鐵成金J34nB300_p0234a09一句,請師舉揚。」師云:「直下薦取。」進云:「還有不受功勳J34nB300_p0234a10造化者麼?」師云:「你猶未薦在。」進云:「學人自肯去也。」師J34nB300_p0234a11云:「迷頭認影。」乃云:「盡大地是箇火爐面門,無位真人J34nB300_p0234a12是一團火燄,一切根身器界、去來生死、聖凡名號、佛J34nB300_p0234a13祖魔外,攖之無不燎盡,惟此一著靈然獨透,觸處圓J34nB300_p0234a14成,扣著便應亦無應跡,撥著便轉亦無轉處。所以道:J34nB300_p0234a15『火燄為三世諸佛說法,三世諸佛立地聽。』汝等諸人J34nB300_p0234a16立地許久,且道:還聞火燄說法也無?」良久,云:「切忌燒J34nB300_p0234a17著眉毛。」下座。
J34nB300_p0234a18天童老和尚誕日,聞訃音,舉哀,上堂。僧問:「建法幢,立J34nB300_p0234a19宗旨,為祖佛師,海內無二。秖如天童老人末後一段,J34nB300_p0234a20是有?是無?」師云:「卻得闍黎共證明。」進云:「正法眼藏未J34nB300_p0234a21審甚麼人得?」師云:「山僧不得。」進云:「為甚麼不得?」師云:J34nB300_p0234a22「設得,向甚麼處著?」進云:「爭奈千峰勢到嶽邊止,萬派J34nB300_p0234a23聲歸海上消。」師云:「你又作麼生?」僧一喝,師便打。問:「天J34nB300_p0234a24童和尚遷化,未審向甚麼處去?」師云:「做驢做馬去。」進J34nB300_p0234a25云:「甚麼人境界?」師云:「切忌道著。」問:「世尊雪山睹星悟J34nB300_p0234a26道,悟箇甚麼?」師云:「待涅槃時向你道。」進云:「悟後還有J34nB300_p0234a27用心處也無?」師云:「袈裟付與迦葉尊者了也。」乃云:「無J34nB300_p0234a28常生死法,與我不相干,若能如是見,不用哭蒼天。哭J34nB300_p0234a29既不可得,若笑也徒然,要知哭笑意,普請到真前。」下J34nB300_p0234a30座。至真前,指云:「今日適值誕辰,作齋即為祭奠。」乃哀J34nB300_p0234b01哀大哭,云:「且道哭箇甚麼?哭者老和尚前日不死卻J34nB300_p0234b02死。」復呵呵大笑,云:「且道笑箇甚麼?笑者老和尚今日J34nB300_p0234b03不生卻生。死不死,生不生,箇中消息許誰聞?唯有曹J34nB300_p0234b04溪忤逆子,慣向毒蛇頭上行。」乃復指真,云:「先師一生J34nB300_p0234b05壁立千仞,不帶纖毫,處處截斷眾流、提持本分,每每J34nB300_p0234b06斷章取義、換人眼睛,所謂面門、鼻孔、耳朵、眼睛、腳跟、J34nB300_p0234b07頭腦,若口、若手、若身、若人,已於七月初七日一時掃J34nB300_p0234b08蹤絕蹟,收歸大寂滅海自受用去也。唯有一味打到J34nB300_p0234b09底底一條白棒卻落在不肖徒手裏,而今不免信手J34nB300_p0234b10拈來,向起死回生、順逆齊舉處更為忤逆一上。」插香,J34nB300_p0234b11云:「伏望老和尚於常寂光中慈悲攝受。」復舉哀。
J34nB300_p0234b12上堂。師云:「參禪學道,圖出生死;要出生死,須知生死J34nB300_p0234b13之因。毘舍浮佛云:『假借四大以為身,心本無生因境J34nB300_p0234b14有。』清淨謂之佛境,濁鬧謂之魔境,二境現前則生死J34nB300_p0234b15心起。要得出離,須是二境一齊入得,無有分毫羈絆J34nB300_p0234b16始得。若入得清淨,入不得濁鬧;入得濁鬧,入不得清J34nB300_p0234b17淨。行解未圓,總為纏擾。殊不知境緣無好醜,好醜起J34nB300_p0234b18於心。魔佛二境不自外來,皆自心分別而有。但透得J34nB300_p0234b19金剛眼睛,自然魔佛俱盡。方知古人道:『函蓋乾坤句,J34nB300_p0234b20截斷眾流句,隨波逐浪句,一句具三句。』甚是奇特。」遂J34nB300_p0234b21舉:「僧問雲門:『如何是透法身句?』門云:『北斗裏藏身。』玉J34nB300_p0234b22澗林禪師頌云:『北斗藏身為舉揚,法身從此露堂堂。J34nB300_p0234b23雲門賺殺他家子,直至如今漫度量。』五祖戒禪師見J34nB300_p0234b24之,問林作偈之意,林舉目視之,戒云:『若果如是,雲門J34nB300_p0234b25不值一錢,公亦當失兩目。』果如其讖。五祖戒自頌云:J34nB300_p0234b26『雲門透法身,劃斷釋迦音。文殊休惆悵,普賢漫沉吟。』J34nB300_p0234b27而戒暮年亦失一目。且道只此二頌,甚麼處是林公J34nB300_p0234b28失兩目處?甚麼處是戒公失一日處?若簡點得明白J34nB300_p0234b29灼然,兩箇人秖得一隻眼。惟五祖演禪師頌云:『何事J34nB300_p0234b30文星與酒星?一時分付與先生。高吟大醉三千首,留J34nB300_p0234c01與人間伴月明。』真可謂雙眼圓明,得大自在。曹溪亦J34nB300_p0234c02有一頌:截斷眾流魔作佛,隨波逐浪佛成魔。當陽有J34nB300_p0234c03準超魔佛,不動纖毫奏凱歌。」卓拄杖,下座。
J34nB300_p0234c04上堂。僧問:「正中來,無中有路出塵埃。出塵埃即不問,J34nB300_p0234c05如何是斷舌才?」師云:「我與洞山有甚麼讎?」問:「如何是J34nB300_p0234c06泥牛露出黃金角?」師豎起拂子。進云:「如何是木馬拋J34nB300_p0234c07開白玉蹄?」師便打。進云:「為甚麼截斷眾途無住處?」師J34nB300_p0234c08直視云:「會麼?」進云:「便恁麼搖頭擺尾去也。」師云:「猶欠J34nB300_p0234c09三十棒。」乃云:「正中無路,死水難藏,覿面當機,貴須出J34nB300_p0234c10脫。所以適來山僧向渠道:我與洞山有甚麼讎?正所J34nB300_p0234c11謂出語直教燒不著。三聖道:『逢人則不出,出則便為J34nB300_p0234c12人。』興化道:『逢人則出,出則不為人』。各各俱有不犯忌J34nB300_p0234c13諱底出身路,自非卸卻項下枷鎖底人,焉知有恁麼J34nB300_p0234c14事?」遂舉:「徑山大慧禪師法語云:『上士聞道,如印印空;J34nB300_p0234c15中士聞道,如印印水;下士聞道,如印印泥。此印與空、J34nB300_p0234c16水、泥無差別,因上、中、下之士故有差別耳。如今欲徑J34nB300_p0234c17入此道,和印子擊碎,然後來與妙喜相見。』」師云:「曹溪J34nB300_p0234c18則不然,第一句薦得,如印印空;第二句薦得,如印印J34nB300_p0234c19水;第三句薦得,如印印泥。此薦得底人無差別,因空、J34nB300_p0234c20水、泥之句故有差別耳。如今欲徑入此道,和薦得底J34nB300_p0234c21人掃蹤絕蹟,然後來與曹溪相見。徑山恁麼,曹溪不J34nB300_p0234c22恁麼;徑山不恁麼,曹溪卻恁麼。且道是成褫邪?是不J34nB300_p0234c23成褫邪?若道成褫,爭奈君向瀟湘我向秦;若道不成J34nB300_p0234c24褫,爭奈秋水共長天一色。還知落處麼?」卓拄杖云:「選J34nB300_p0234c25佛若無如是眼,兒孫遍地亦徒然。」下座。
J34nB300_p0234c26沈制臺請上堂。拈香祝聖罷,就座。白椎竟,問荅畢,師J34nB300_p0234c27云:「假借四大為身,箇中畢竟無我,但能一念解脫,管J34nB300_p0234c28教法法全彰,萬物皆備,三界獨尊,劍樹刀山化為烏J34nB300_p0234c29有,幢幡寶蓋起自何來?所以道:『我若上刀山,刀山自J34nB300_p0234c30摧折;我若下火湯,火湯自消滅。』坐斷罪福路頭,自然J34nB300_p0235a01直下超越。今日蓋謂沈大司馬奏凱之際,忽興同體J34nB300_p0235a02之悲,差官齎貲入山禮懺設齋,命山僧陞座說無生J34nB300_p0235a03法,以薦陣亡將士某某等眾。須知法雨一施,直達幽J34nB300_p0235a04冥;法音一聞,即超極樂。奮剿寇雄心,披忍辱鎧而魔J34nB300_p0235a05軍頓破;轉封侯妄念,操智慧刀而佛道立成。然雖如J34nB300_p0235a06是,猶是大司馬下憫群情底意。且上祝皇恩一句又J34nB300_p0235a07作麼生?八方霑霂無為化,四海謠歌賀太平。」下座。
J34nB300_p0235a08師過南雄蓮社菴,恒明院主同眾居士請陞座。問答J34nB300_p0235a09畢,師乃云:「覿體絕思量,玄機獨透;當陽離問答,至理J34nB300_p0235a10洞明。所以六祖道:『不思善,不思惡,正與麼時,那箇是J34nB300_p0235a11你本來面目?』又道:『與汝說者即非密也,汝若返炤,密J34nB300_p0235a12在汝邊。』諸人若能直下返炤,則語言道斷、心行處滅,J34nB300_p0235a13不越步而廓周沙界、不動念而遍滿十虛,所以道:處J34nB300_p0235a14處真,處處真,塵塵盡是本來人。但有言說,都無實義,J34nB300_p0235a15所以道:真實說時聲不現。凡所有相皆是虛妄,所以J34nB300_p0235a16道:正體堂堂沒卻身。恁麼透得,便是超生脫死、見性J34nB300_p0235a17成佛底時節;縱使未透,亦須絕卻思善思惡底心、塞J34nB300_p0235a18卻問難問易底口,便恁麼行去,自然一笑知歸。若一J34nB300_p0235a19涉思惟、一問途路,便無難生難,錯過多矣。譬如度大J34nB300_p0235a20庾嶺者,要度便行,不可問人南北兩京,誰不驚誇嶮J34nB300_p0235a21峻?聞之令人卻步。試問諸人:到嶺者還嶮峻也無?山J34nB300_p0235a22僧更有一偈復為諸人道破:庾嶺聞之南北驚,不思J34nB300_p0235a23善惡最崢嶸,我來到此忽然笑,海內如何享大名?」下J34nB300_p0235a24座。
J34nB300_p0235a25上堂。僧問:「如何是諸佛出身處?」師豎拂,云:「還見麼?」進J34nB300_p0235a26云:「只如雲門道:『東山水上行。』意旨如何?」師打,云:「當面J34nB300_p0235a27底不會,管他雲門作麼?」居士問:「昔日臨濟有三句,如J34nB300_p0235a28何是第一句?」師云:「炤用齊行。」進云:「如何是第二句?」師J34nB300_p0235a29便喝。進云:「如何是第三句?」師云:「但恁麼薦取。」乃云:「打J34nB300_p0235a30著南邊動北邊,本無二致;東邊日出西邊雨,機發千J34nB300_p0235b01端。千端處,只一點以為根;無二處,散萬殊而不盡。懷J34nB300_p0235b02州牛喫禾,益州馬腹脹,天下覓醫人,灸豬左膊上。若J34nB300_p0235b03是懸崖撒手底人,到者裏如穿衣喫飯、舉手動足相J34nB300_p0235b04似,無不是當人實受用之地。其或情生智隔、想變體J34nB300_p0235b05殊,根本差訛、枝葉謬亂,焉有如是圓成、如是通貫?只J34nB300_p0235b06須一念不生、前後際斷,自然徹底分明、七穿八穴。雖J34nB300_p0235b07然,若是祖師門下別傳心印一著,須更別參始得。」揮J34nB300_p0235b08拂子,下座。
J34nB300_p0235b09上堂。問:「如何是體中玄?」師云:「弄假成真。」進云:「如何是J34nB300_p0235b10句中玄?」師云:「斬釘截鐵。」進云:「如何是玄中玄?」師云:「獨J34nB300_p0235b11據千峰上,全威百艸頭。」進云:「如何是末後一著?」師拂J34nB300_p0235b12一拂。進云:「如何是大神咒?」師云:「今日上堂。」「如何是大J34nB300_p0235b13明咒?」師云:「瞞你一點不得。」「如何是無上咒?」師云:「平田J34nB300_p0235b14淺艸。」「如何是無等等咒?」師云:「落階級了也。」進云:「揭諦J34nB300_p0235b15揭諦,波羅揭諦,意旨如何?」師云:「穿衣喫飯,屙屎撒尿。」J34nB300_p0235b16問:「三腳驢子弄蹄行,意旨如何?」師云:「楊岐猶在。」僧擬J34nB300_p0235b17進語,師云:「若然,則過去久矣。」乃云:「形山纏縛,隱秘法J34nB300_p0235b18身;慧劍揮開,全機透脫。隱秘者,如猿在檻;透脫者,如J34nB300_p0235b19病得汗。既得汗已,毛孔無不清涼,血脈無不通貫。如J34nB300_p0235b20是,則內根外塵、一切四大五蘊、森羅萬象,向為蓋覆J34nB300_p0235b21之物,今為獨露之場,慶快平生,參學事畢。」顧左右云:J34nB300_p0235b22「是甚麼?」下座。
住虔州龔公山寶華禪寺語錄
J34nB300_p0235c02崇禎癸未年,師到虔州,希有林中丞捐俸為地主,請J34nB300_p0235c03師開堂。三月初四日入寺,至
J34nB300_p0235c04三門。「明明有箇門,因甚卻道無門為法門?只因恰恰J34nB300_p0235c05入。」日輪正當午便入是日雨霽。
J34nB300_p0235c06佛殿。拈香云:「能禮與所禮,都來是自己,禮得自己時,J34nB300_p0235c07覿面難思議。」遂拜。
J34nB300_p0235c08方丈。云:「八十四人善知識,當年多向者裏出,馬師煆J34nB300_p0235c09煉沒途程,今日依然赤骨律,五湖四海任奔趨,當頭J34nB300_p0235c10按定無他術。」卓拄杖,云:「此眾無枝葉,唯有諸真實。」
J34nB300_p0235c11當日中丞差官設齋請上堂。師於手中接疏云:「發揚J34nB300_p0235c12古剎家風,言言見諦;決斷現前公案,句句朝宗。事在J34nB300_p0235c13當機,直須宣白。」維那宣疏畢,師指法座云:「諸法空為J34nB300_p0235c14座,何從借得來?只須直踏上,步步是蓮臺。」陞座。拈香J34nB300_p0235c15祝聖罷,次拈香云:「此一瓣香,源溯曹溪,師師嫡授;燈J34nB300_p0235c16分南嶽,子子親承。嗅著曾經毛孔豁開,觸之更饒汗J34nB300_p0235c17流遍地。爇向爐中,供養舊住天童禪寺傳曹溪正脈J34nB300_p0235c18三十四世密雲先師大和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」就座。維J34nB300_p0235c19那白椎竟,師云:「開選佛場,顯第一義,秖貴英俊道流J34nB300_p0235c20單刀直入,方報不報之恩,以助無為之化。其或未然,J34nB300_p0235c21有疑便請決。」問:「為臣盡忠子盡孝,達本窮末了中道,J34nB300_p0235c22只此名為真實說,皇恩佛恩一齊報。」師云:「更報親恩。」J34nB300_p0235c23僧禮拜,師云:「全憑補袞調羹手,撥轉如來正法輪。」問:J34nB300_p0235c24「未住寶華時如何?」師云:「在贛州。」進云:「既住寶華時如J34nB300_p0235c25何?」師云:「也不離贛州。」進云:「如何是寶華底人?」師便打,J34nB300_p0235c26乃云:「臣奉於君,至真離向背;子順於母,大道絕中邊。J34nB300_p0235c27承當則天上人間,擬議則拖泥帶水,現宰官身說法、J34nB300_p0235c28現比丘身說法,金剛正眼了無儒釋之分,向上宗乘J34nB300_p0235c29迥絕世間之異。當此祖寥寥落,國事多艱,事同一轍,J34nB300_p0235c30理切共扶。今日林大檀越以忠孝之心行金湯之事,J34nB300_p0236a01既捐貲為地主,命說法以開迷,一心輔正,落魔膽於J34nB300_p0236a02無依;萬里溯源,知嫡孫之有在。所冀國運、法運以俱J34nB300_p0236a03回,親命、慧命而皆永,豈非過量人發過量智,方能切J34nB300_p0236a04諳機宜、熟識時務,行此世出世間至奉至順底事?且J34nB300_p0236a05道奉順一句作麼生?」良久,云:「將此深心奉塵剎,是則J34nB300_p0236a06名為報佛恩。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236a07佛誕日,上堂。師云:「年年四月八生日,處處叢林將水J34nB300_p0236a08潑,寶華舉措異諸方,通身不見些兒溼。為甚如此?三J34nB300_p0236a09十年後免見道:寶華水漉漉地。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236a10挂鐘板,立兩序,上堂。師云:「馬祖叢林,十方聚會;百丈J34nB300_p0236a11鐘板,一旦重新。父子既爾同途,古今自然合轍。人天J34nB300_p0236a12供養,表言外之明宗;左右贊襄,顯當堂之有主。門庭J34nB300_p0236a13建立,略見一斑;向上提持,更須出脫。」良久,云:「內外安J34nB300_p0236a14然無一事,不風流處也風流。」卓拄杖,下座。
J34nB300_p0236a15開爐,結制,上堂。「寶劍頻磨,了無朕跡;真金百煉,愈見J34nB300_p0236a16光輝。若是皮下有血底,向未舉以前一提,提得、果得,J34nB300_p0236a17淨然無事,依舊天是天、地是地、山是山、水是水,灼然J34nB300_p0236a18大死底人境界,然後結緊繩頭,向爐錘之下煆盡差J34nB300_p0236a19別疑情、透過語言岐路,方是當家種艸,始堪荷負吾J34nB300_p0236a20宗。若只向乾蘿蔔頭上認得箇乾乾淨淨、不假煆煉、J34nB300_p0236a21無解無結底見解,自謂滿足,只好諸方領拂子去始J34nB300_p0236a22得。若是寶華門下,未有插足分在。不是門庭多峭峻,J34nB300_p0236a23獅林那見埜狐蹤?」下座。
J34nB300_p0236a24臘月朔,上堂。問答畢,師舉:「當山第一代馬祖道一禪J34nB300_p0236a25師,僧問:『和尚為甚麼說即心即佛?』祖云:『為止小兒啼。』J34nB300_p0236a26僧云:『啼止時如何?』祖云:『非心非佛。』僧云:『除此二種人J34nB300_p0236a27來,如何指示?』祖云:『向伊道不是物。』僧云:『忽遇其中人J34nB300_p0236a28來時如何?』祖云:『且教伊體會大道。』」師云:「者僧善施挨J34nB300_p0236a29拶,馬祖曲盡機宜,即非心佛已見郎當,不物體道猶J34nB300_p0236a30虧簡點。若據今日寶華見處,人外無道,道外無人。既J34nB300_p0236b01是其中人,全體即是大道,更體會箇甚麼?雖然,若遇J34nB300_p0236b02其中人來時,正好劈脊便棒。且道是賞伊?罰伊?具眼J34nB300_p0236b03者辨取。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236b04臘八,上堂。師云:「據前後際斷之時節,舉目處十方普J34nB300_p0236b05淨;達始覺合本之因緣,一念中三世了知。知己、知彼,J34nB300_p0236b06眾生皆具如來;暴富、欺貧,妄執不能證得。」乃顧視左J34nB300_p0236b07右,云:「我此現前一眾,各各腳跟下放光動地、頂門上J34nB300_p0236b08括古該今,無不圓成、無不具足。且道還假明星悟也J34nB300_p0236b09無?」良久,云:「不向如來行處覓,始知恩大實難酬。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236b10林中丞請上堂。師云:「堂上萱親生此身,須知頂門本J34nB300_p0236b11母德尤親。大眾!還見從前底本母麼?若也當陽見得,J34nB300_p0236b12方知大地含靈咸蒙養育,四大性自復,如子得其母,J34nB300_p0236b13永證金剛無量壽,六根晝夜放光明。如是,則不但報J34nB300_p0236b14一生之母,歷劫盡報;不但報母一人之恩,君父佛祖J34nB300_p0236b15之恩盡報。奇哉!大哉!林大檀越今日為太夫人壽誕,J34nB300_p0236b16命山僧說法報恩。」遂插香,云:「既代檀那九如祝,更用J34nB300_p0236b17山僧一瓣香。」復召大眾,云:「急著眼覷。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236b18聖節,上堂。師云:「要識本來尊貴處,一回瞻禮一回親,J34nB300_p0236b19幾多負義忘恩者,咫尺之間反隔津。」召大眾:「普請同J34nB300_p0236b20到佛殿拈香,用祝聖壽。」
J34nB300_p0236b21元旦,上堂。召大眾,云:「面門無位真人又添一歲了也,J34nB300_p0236b22你們今日忙忙彼此拜年,還曾與者漢拜也未?寶華J34nB300_p0236b23即今為諸人先施榜樣。」起揖,云:「恭喜。」便下座。復有僧J34nB300_p0236b24問:「正當揖時,無位真人在甚麼處?」師云:「不見道:兒孫J34nB300_p0236b25得力,室內不知。」
J34nB300_p0236b26上堂。舉:「龐居士問馬祖:『不與萬法為侶者是甚麼人?』J34nB300_p0236b27祖云:『待你一口吸盡西江水即向你道。』」師云:「萬法不J34nB300_p0236b28侶,早已帶水拖泥;吸盡西江,畢竟不沾涓滴。龐居士J34nB300_p0236b29一向擔板,點肋點胸;馬大師格外施機,全縱全奪。須J34nB300_p0236b30知直饒吸盡西江亦未堪駐足,豈可守箇萬法不侶J34nB300_p0236c01坐在百尺竿頭?雖然,只如吸盡西江底人與萬法不J34nB300_p0236c02侶底人,且道是同?是別?」良久,云:「全身脫盡無依倚,只J34nB300_p0236c03為分明得反遲。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236c04光孝寺請陞座。僧問:「水出高源時如何?」師云:「涓涓不J34nB300_p0236c05斷流。」進云:「恁麼則廉泉去也。」師云:「腳跟下更須截斷J34nB300_p0236c06始得。」遂舉:「廉泉曇秀禪師,僧問:『如何是學人轉身處?』J34nB300_p0236c07秀云:『掃地澆花。』僧云:『如何是學人親切處?』師云:『高枕J34nB300_p0236c08枕頭。』僧云:『總不恁麼時如何?』秀云:『鶯啼柳上,花發巖J34nB300_p0236c09前。』」師云:「來機善赴,廉泉一等垂慈;據令直捉,寶華豈J34nB300_p0236c10隨時尚?設有問:『如何是轉身處?』但向他道:『亂動作麼?』J34nB300_p0236c11『如何是親切處?』但向他道:『第一不得道在者裏。』『總不J34nB300_p0236c12恁麼時如何?』但向他道:『也是自生取捨。』且道:與廉泉J34nB300_p0236c13還有優劣也無?」揮拂子,云:「鴛鴦繡出從君看,不把金J34nB300_p0236c14鍼度與人。」下座。光孝寺,又名出水寺,又名廉泉寺。
J34nB300_p0236c15上堂。僧問:「清淨行者不入涅槃,破戒比丘不墮地獄,J34nB300_p0236c16是甚麼人境界?」師云:「千聖不能傳。」進云:「秦地不收漢J34nB300_p0236c17不管。」師云:「箭鋒相拄。」乃云:「昔日歸宗僧大悟,師姑原J34nB300_p0236c18是女人做;今日寶華悟卻無,箇箇男兒是丈夫。悟與J34nB300_p0236c19不悟既如此,何須者也更之乎?便好當陽急著眼,莫J34nB300_p0236c20教停待自塗糊。」下座。
J34nB300_p0236c21上堂。僧問:「不求佛法、不重己靈時如何?」師云:「者樣死J34nB300_p0236c22漢有甚麼用處?」進云:「恁麼則佛種從緣起。」師云:「兩重J34nB300_p0236c23公案。」進云:「垂絲千尺,意在深潭;離鉤三寸,請和尚親J34nB300_p0236c24切道一句。」師連打,云:「速道,速道。」僧無語,師云:「依舊在J34nB300_p0236c25洪波。」乃云:「鷓鴣叫,黃鸝鳴,春光昨夜已圓成;梅子黃,J34nB300_p0236c26李子赤,枝頭露出南離色。送往迎來事若何?𩖼𩖼薰J34nB300_p0236c27風涼入骨。衲僧家,更奇特,青絹扇子手恒持,箇裏了J34nB300_p0236c28無寒暑蹟。透得者,聞之毛孔豁開;未透者,請向者裏J34nB300_p0236c29直下便入。」遂舉:「本山第二代西堂智藏禪師,僧問:『有J34nB300_p0236c30問有答,賓主歷然;無問無答時如何?』堂云:『怕爛卻那?』J34nB300_p0237a01後僧又問長慶,慶云:『相逢盡道休官好,林下何曾見J34nB300_p0237a02一人?』」師云:「二老雖具頂門正眼,要且只有殺人刀,未J34nB300_p0237a03有活人劍。寶華今日若有僧作是問,但向他道:『莫謂J34nB300_p0237a04山僧曾答你好。』」下座。
J34nB300_p0237a05聚聖謝居士請上堂。師云:「堂堂獨露主人公,越死超J34nB300_p0237a06生三界中,為薦亡靈陞座舉,不消一點絕牢籠。且道J34nB300_p0237a07作麼生點?」良久,云:「切忌當面諱卻。」遂舉:「雲巖禪師不J34nB300_p0237a08安,道吾問云:『離此殼漏子向甚麼處相見?』巖云:『不生J34nB300_p0237a09不滅處相見。』吾云:『何不道非不生不滅處,亦不求相J34nB300_p0237a10見?』後道林圓悟禪師拈云:『或有問道林:「離此殼漏子J34nB300_p0237a11向甚麼處相見?」只對他道:「何處不逢渠?」』」師云:「不滯一J34nB300_p0237a12隅,機輪互換,二老貴絕功勛;單提向上,截斷淆訛,道J34nB300_p0237a13林更為直捷。雖然,宗師家亦無定格,秖貴當機各有J34nB300_p0237a14出身之路。今日或有問寶華:『離此殼漏子向甚麼處J34nB300_p0237a15相見?』但對他道:『正抓著山僧癢處。』」居士出問:「先兄去J34nB300_p0237a16世七七已週,未審向何處安身立命?」師作哀勢,云:「蒼J34nB300_p0237a17天!蒼天!」下座。
J34nB300_p0237a18上堂。師云:「思惟卜度,生死根株,覿露現成,佛祖祕要,J34nB300_p0237a19丹砂九轉點鐵成金,眨上眉毛錯過了也。直饒離卻J34nB300_p0237a20見聞、絕卻現行,不移跬步全身在裏許,猶是醫死馬J34nB300_p0237a21見解,何況認箇一切平常,喚作家傳宗旨?如今事不J34nB300_p0237a22獲已,寶華更將醫死馬底法為諸人更開一路,要得J34nB300_p0237a23自見自肯,須是千方百計將意根下痠痠澀澀底病J34nB300_p0237a24抖擻得乾乾淨淨,無一點氣息,驀地甦醒回來。㘞!依J34nB300_p0237a25舊依舊。只如果到者裏合作麼生?咄!咄!咄!弄潮須是J34nB300_p0237a26丈夫兒,不打籬邊死雀子。」下座。
J34nB300_p0237a27開爐,結制,上堂。師云:「大冶洪爐,烹佛烹祖,規模鎔盡,J34nB300_p0237a28識者罔措。汝等諸人各各頭頂天、腳踏地,行便行、坐J34nB300_p0237a29便坐,遇茶喫茶、遇飯喫飯,一一天真、一一明玅,諸天J34nB300_p0237a30捧花無路、外道潛覷無門,灼然好箇紅爐寶華。今日J34nB300_p0237b01不假鉗錘、不施柴炭,已為諸人煆盡聖凡、烹盡佛祖J34nB300_p0237b02了也,有甚規模在那裏?」乃左右顧視,云:「直須脫體承J34nB300_p0237b03當去,免見耳為下劣人。」下座。
J34nB300_p0237b04上堂,師云:「當陽獨露主人公,世界身心徹底通,萬象J34nB300_p0237b05頭邊渾是我,我無纖影落胸中。橙黃橘綠三冬意,日J34nB300_p0237b06淡風清二氣功,觸處現成忘計較,毘盧頂上古家風。」J34nB300_p0237b07下座。
J34nB300_p0237b08旋元禪人請上堂。舉:「《楞嚴經》道:『昏擾擾相以為心性,J34nB300_p0237b09一迷為心,決定惑為色身之內,不知色身外洎山河、J34nB300_p0237b10虛空、大地咸是玅明真心中物。』」師云:「你諸人莫見與J34nB300_p0237b11麼道,便離卻色身,別求玅明真心。須知無為真佛實J34nB300_p0237b12在我身,身心一如,身外無餘,既無內外之跡,亦無迷J34nB300_p0237b13悟之殊。」乃豎拂子,召大眾,云:「看!看!者便是諸人隨處J34nB300_p0237b14發現底時節。若也直下歸根得旨,則根根塵塵了無J34nB300_p0237b15蹤蹟可覓,自然覿體現前。且不離當處一句作麼生J34nB300_p0237b16道?東嶺雲生西嶺白,前山花發後山紅。」下座。
