J39nB447_p0413b05參禪學道,惟須銕石心腸;訪友尋師,務要英靈氣宇。J39nB447_p0413b06纔聞舉著,直下承當,方稱拔萃男兒,便入師子群隊。J39nB447_p0413b07若具這般決烈,奚愁道眼不明、天龍不衛?若夫因循J39nB447_p0413b08歲月、恣縱情懷,不透聲色牢關、罔省佛祖至要,法門J39nB447_p0413b09何補?後學誰歸?況爾相侍巾瓶廿有餘載,歷艱難而J39nB447_p0413b10匪變、守寂寞而不移,若非根器廣大、願力弘深,焉能J39nB447_p0413b11有此至堅至固、不退不轉?雖然,要將本有之真精勤J39nB447_p0413b12決擇、不無之妙勇銳參持,提起金剛劍、劃斷狐疑網,J39nB447_p0413b13根塵盡淨、渣滓不留,境界不空而空、心花不燦而燦,J39nB447_p0413b14到者裏滿空至寶信手隨拈、遍界奇珍當機任取,更J39nB447_p0413b15無第二人、不落第二見,豈不是鐵石心腸、英靈氣宇J39nB447_p0413b16之衲僧也?
示大破禪人
J39nB447_p0413b18薙髮為僧,靈光遮障不得;依師學道,本分圓通始成。J39nB447_p0413b19而今祖庭秋晚,法道寂寥,出家者不為生死,學道者J39nB447_p0413b20不須見性,一味貪圖名利,鼓弄是非,徒衒雌雄,豈不J39nB447_p0413b21痛哉?若我大破禪人,信心脫俗,決志披緇,侍從山僧,J39nB447_p0413b22相求是道。今不審披緇之深淺,且問學道之端的:莫J39nB447_p0413b23是寫水塗山是?莫是修竹譜花是?莫是圍碁撫琴是?J39nB447_p0413b24莫是焚香展卷是?若道一切處是則觸,若道一切處J39nB447_p0413b25不是則背。試問破禪人:觸背俱皆不是,且道道在甚J39nB447_p0413b26麼處?於此脫然省去,不惟不障靈光,亦且發明本分。J39nB447_p0413b27到者裏則薙髮為僧,依師學道,豈徒然哉?
示元素禪人
J39nB447_p0413b29元素禪人,楚人也。髫齡薙髮,方外有年。草鞋頻破白J39nB447_p0413b30雲,竹杖幾擔明月。冰霜歷遍,雨雪經餘。雖然,未審行J39nB447_p0413c01腳眼明否?如是,則不負登山涉水,訪友尋師。不然,須J39nB447_p0413c02向草鞋根底、竹杖頭邊,密密諦審。審到路途窮處、雲J39nB447_p0413c03水斷時,元來高矮雲山、短長路徑,總是一個行腳眼。J39nB447_p0413c04脫或不爾,更聽偈言:草鞋竹杖叩諸方,度水穿雲歲J39nB447_p0413c05月長,直下了明行腳眼,從教何處不風光。
示懋猷張居士
J39nB447_p0413c07去來無相,非想相以能知;動靜無心,豈色心而能見?J39nB447_p0413c08見而無見,運用無窮;知而無知,施為不盡。是知性等J39nB447_p0413c09虛空、體同法界,但得一念正真,自然隨處作主。先哲J39nB447_p0413c10云:處處真,處處真,塵塵盡是本來人。今時參而未▆、J39nB447_p0413c11學而未成者,蓋為罔識根源、不明旨趣,既值知識,豈J39nB447_p0413c12曰小補?應須立決烈志、啟殊勝懷,將無相無心微旨J39nB447_p0413c13透明,始得一生事辦。
示田善人
J39nB447_p0413c15妙道本不涉言,涉言早已差錯。欲識妙道根源,看取J39nB447_p0413c16行住坐臥。行看是誰牽動,住看是誰安止,坐看是誰J39nB447_p0413c17主張,臥看是誰夢寐。看來看去,看到無可看處,焂忽J39nB447_p0413c18冷灰豆爆,原來粥飯是米,釵鐶即金。到者裏,則行亦J39nB447_p0413c19道,住亦道,坐亦道,臥亦道,乃至語默動靜,喜怒哀樂,J39nB447_p0413c20無不是道。會麼?劈破上頭關捩子,縱橫十字更由誰?
示陳自新
J39nB447_p0413c22塵內佛,火裏蓮,直須當陽覷破;鏡中花,水底月,何妨J39nB447_p0413c23信手拈來。如是,則在俗無妨,居塵不礙。不然,直須把J39nB447_p0413c24定繩頭,向一切事上參究,參到無可參處,驀地一聲J39nB447_p0413c25長嘯,萬慮咸清,方知塵內佛,火裏蓮,鏡中花,水底月,J39nB447_p0413c26原來不出者裏。
贈最良李居士
J39nB447_p0413c28學是悟之師,悟乃學之祖,有學無悟謂之增上慢,有J39nB447_p0413c29悟無學謂之擔板漢。是知學必假悟以透,悟必借學J39nB447_p0413c30以資,譬如鳥無羽,詎可得而飛?魚無江,安可得而游?J39nB447_p0414a01所以今日去聖時遙,有一等學道人未遇宗眼,將文J39nB447_p0414a02字喚作葛藤,見地纔是真實。殊不知文字中淵源莫J39nB447_p0414a03測,豈可易窺其涯涘哉?若於文字識得根腳,則文字J39nB447_p0414a04何異於見地?見地何殊於文字?故山僧接人更無別J39nB447_p0414a05法,直教隨其所著而領會之也。尼父乃云:「以我為隱J39nB447_p0414a06乎?吾無隱乎爾。」此理也矣。《楞嚴》云:「十方薄伽梵,一路J39nB447_p0414a07涅槃門。」此理也矣。《華嚴》云:「佛法世間法,若見其真實,J39nB447_p0414a08一切無差別。」亦此理也矣。上古淑哲未有不在頭頭J39nB447_p0414a09上明、物物上顯,又何嘗取捨執定一邊?是知在真宗J39nB447_p0414a10師手裏出來的,自不被境鼓動、世念礙他,如空中煙J39nB447_p0414a11雲週旋無礙,誰能擬測哉?若我最良居士鶚薦辛丑,J39nB447_p0414a12學習淵深,雖居富貴不被富貴所欺,撞遇燕伯辣手,J39nB447_p0414a13當陽劈破頂門,直下知眉在額,出言吐氣,不即文字、J39nB447_p0414a14不離文字,性天朗耀、義海澄清,且逋名綠野、獨立超J39nB447_p0414a15然,豈減子瞻之風?似公之若是者有幾?雖然,者段因J39nB447_p0414a16緣阿誰欠少?總之,錯認方便、妄執得失,因而不能作J39nB447_p0414a17透網金鱗。山僧與公為莫逆友者久矣,素羨公雅度、J39nB447_p0414a18欽公逸致,真可謂學悟圓通之丈夫,特書法語以贈。
胡心學持金剛經求語
J39nB447_p0414a20過去心不可得,現在心不可得,未來心不可得。三心J39nB447_p0414a21既不可得,且道持經的是那一心?如其會得,則風動J39nB447_p0414a22水流,盡談般若;花吟鳥笑,悉演摩訶。不然,須向三心J39nB447_p0414a23不可得處看去。
示清修熊居士
J39nB447_p0414a25喫飯穿衣,頭頭合道,透得過來,本無兩竅。是知念佛J39nB447_p0414a26無非此竅,參禪無非此竅。此竅若通,則佛不念而一J39nB447_p0414a27切皆佛,禪不參而一切皆禪。不然,念佛則被佛礙,參J39nB447_p0414a28禪則被禪礙。會麼?若能通此竅,無處不皆真。
與君山劉茂才
J39nB447_p0414a30讀書人弗向宗乘中留心者,盡謂宗乘空寂,一味釘J39nB447_p0414b01樁搖艣,纔聞宗乘極則,便云無可把捉。殊不知者無J39nB447_p0414b02可把捉的,乃三世能仁命脈,歷代開士元辰。故經云:J39nB447_p0414b03依「無住本,立一切法。」又云:「應無所住,而生其心。」若夫J39nB447_p0414b04神心穎悟,見越常情,一道虛融,萬緣絕待,則揮毫展J39nB447_p0414b05卷,不離無住大旨;究古窮今,亦不離無住大旨;甚至J39nB447_p0414b06焚香煮茗,修竹譜花,一切種種,總不離無住大旨。若J39nB447_p0414b07離無住大旨,別尋至要,是猶掘地覓天,撥波求火。山J39nB447_p0414b08僧結制鎮西,始識君山居士,讀書不為書縛,處世不J39nB447_p0414b09為世羈,有脫塵離俗之風,依山傍水之志,不似釘樁J39nB447_p0414b10搖艣輩,執著一邊,與山僧盤桓箇事,焂忽兩載,因而J39nB447_p0414b11分袂,固以無可把捉的,信筆而為之記。
示綿綿禪人
J39nB447_p0414b13綿綿禪人擔當上首,氣宇孤清,形蹤磊落,不親權貴,J39nB447_p0414b14固守寂寥,驅寒暑半肩毳衲,度歲月一缽松花,可謂J39nB447_p0414b15忌身忌世,不售不酬。山僧寓滇之陽瓜,而綿不時請J39nB447_p0414b16益,因詰其名號,綿曰:「名廣瓜,號綿綿,擔當先師所命J39nB447_p0414b17也。」一日,出紙求語,山僧顧而謂曰:「是求學禪道語?脫J39nB447_p0414b18生死語?欲求禪道,禪道在汝目前;欲脫生死,生死在J39nB447_p0414b19汝腳下。於此脫然省去,則山僧未搦管時早已書竟;J39nB447_p0414b20脫或未能,更聽偈言:羨爾精勤廣植園,園中瓜已結J39nB447_p0414b21綿綿,甜的徹蒂甜如密,苦者和根苦似連。莫把甜的J39nB447_p0414b22喚作苦,休將苦者認為甜,直須一一親嘗過,免得遭J39nB447_p0414b23他當面瞞。」
示心安禪者
J39nB447_p0414b25春晴無事,策杖遊月波菴,菴前水湛如藍,庭際花開J39nB447_p0414b26似錦,出谷黃鸝翩翩度柳,尋巢紫燕剪剪飛梁。正顧J39nB447_p0414b27間,心安禪者作禮於前曰:「鳥聲歷耳,春色盈眸,和尚J39nB447_p0414b28振錫凌空,山靈有幸,能無一言垂示後學乎?」予曰:「山J39nB447_p0414b29僧未到月波時,花枝鳥語已道了也,汝知之麼?如其J39nB447_p0414b30未知,不免更為拈出。一杖橫擔到月波,月波菴畔景J39nB447_p0414c01何多?雨滋柳葉開盈澗,風鼓桃花放滿坡。處處遊來J39nB447_p0414c02春爛熳,山山聽去鳥吟哦,西來祖意和盤托,未審心J39nB447_p0414c03禪會也麼?」
贈嵩敞法姪
J39nB447_p0414c05祖庭秋晚,必真實無偽者撐持;法道荒涼,須學悟圓J39nB447_p0414c06通者弘播。如是則叢席有光,不然則宗風何賴?邇來J39nB447_p0414c07雖多傳受,於中總不堪任,謬得一紙源流,便有多般J39nB447_p0414c08矯詐。心鏡未朗,倚世利而耑逞貢高;性海未清,附庸J39nB447_p0414c09鄙而妄行教化。出言錯謬,招叱辱以無端;行事乖張,J39nB447_p0414c10取譏訶之莫罄。如斯敗露,誠可悲哀。若我嵩敞禪師,J39nB447_p0414c11乃予同派法姪,披緇丱歲,抱志多年,廿載離滇,諸方J39nB447_p0414c12參遍,禪那精究,德行堅培,秉毘尼於林壁禪宗,受法J39nB447_p0414c13印於述中和尚。迅機如太阿劍,觸之則斷人命根;作J39nB447_p0414c14用似走盤珠,遇之則耀人心目。經旨明徹,不愧啟迪J39nB447_p0414c15後昆;品行超倫,堪可紹隆先聖。隨緣長養,不擅拈提,J39nB447_p0414c16較之魔儻狐兒,豈啻雲霄土壤?爰自己己春孟,頓為J39nB447_p0414c17紫池之遊,訪老僧於棲霞峰頭,扣真機於威音那畔,J39nB447_p0414c18片言契合,兩載盤桓,同甘清苦以忘緣,共樂幽閒而J39nB447_p0414c19絕往。或有時握手松間,看煙雲之縹緲;或有時分座J39nB447_p0414c20室內,聽鳥語之悠揚。月下經行,橫斜花影,踏碎峰頭J39nB447_p0414c21舒嘯,無邊風月歸懷。草木文章,逢緣即用;山川旨趣,J39nB447_p0414c22遇境便拈。若非八面玲瓏,焉得一般殊勝?愧余德微J39nB447_p0414c23行尟,悟淺學疏,常悲落寞之風,徒起匡扶之念。羨爾J39nB447_p0414c24作略迥別,氣度孤清,堪懸慧月於杖頭,可顯真風於J39nB447_p0414c25拂下,開後學之心鏡,剔已墜之禪燈。覺樹再芳,曹源J39nB447_p0414c26復湧,頻抒暢快,不盡忻歡,片語聊拈,高風遠誌。法門J39nB447_p0414c27衰落罕逢人,氣岸挺然獨有君,靈老堂前拈指辯,述J39nB447_p0414c28師室內把燈分。梵章講處空知解,公案拈時破見聞,J39nB447_p0414c29泛泛時流誰可似?堪提白棒逐狐群。
示紹南監院
J39nB447_p0415a01行難行之事,非決烈漢弗能;學無學之禪,惟英靈子J39nB447_p0415a02方可。卓哉南子!久侍老僧,夙具拔萃德能,便有超凡J39nB447_p0415a03氣岸。髫年割愛,永歲忘緣,親逼歸而道化多方,妻留J39nB447_p0415a04意而偈辭一紙,持心挺特,撒手孤剛。執侍巾瓶,十經J39nB447_p0415a05歲月;掌管院事,三歷冰霜。主賓上下和融,叢林漸次J39nB447_p0415a06炳煥,精白日傳心之玅,究青蓮喻法之微。其年雖青J39nB447_p0415a07而志猶大,須向百尺竿頭闊步去,驪龍頷下奪珠圍,J39nB447_p0415a08堪立建化門庭,可弘實際理地。中天日月,撐持兔角J39nB447_p0415a09杖頭;大地煙雲,揮掃龜毛拂下。老僧年將耳順,業已J39nB447_p0415a10鬢斑,常悲法道荒涼,每慨祖風落寞,是以閒居丈室,J39nB447_p0415a11靜對峰巒,未了公案雖存,必欲其人方授。異爾澄渣J39nB447_p0415a12性海,照徹禪源,拈單絲而控玉角麒麟,用濕紙而裏J39nB447_p0415a13金毛獅子,始不負灰心泯志,侍吾暮請朝參。勞爾特J39nB447_p0415a14書法語,用策工夫,直教一一圓通,自是頭頭顯露,纔J39nB447_p0415a15謂之行難行之決烈漢,學無學之英靈子也。珍重!
示繼爾書記
J39nB447_p0415a17繼爾禪人,法雲眷屬,丙寅冬仲,求戒來山坐禪,期於J39nB447_p0415a18丁卯春王,侍山僧於習安休夏。耳提面命,精妙有而J39nB447_p0415a19茅塞稍開;暮請朝咨,究不無而氣質漸化。同餐野粟,J39nB447_p0415a20共飽松花,就明月以看經,對清暘而補衲。五更歲序,J39nB447_p0415a21一守堅心,既發意於最初,要終志於末後。參必參到J39nB447_p0415a22不立纖毫處,學須學至不存些子時,自然物物投機,J39nB447_p0415a23頭頭合道。丹山碧水,盡是那畔文章;翠竹黃花,無非J39nB447_p0415a24個裏消息。如斯漏逗,要使精耑,但有綿密工夫,必無J39nB447_p0415a25不徹道理。是知蒲團七破,悟在捲簾;白巖三秋,惺於J39nB447_p0415a26擊竹。古者既已如是,爾輩安得不然?剔起眉毛,直教J39nB447_p0415a27打徹;豎定脊骨,勿使放鬆。癡霧豁開心月明,迷雲扯J39nB447_p0415a28破性天淨。宜應勇銳,切忌疏慵,一朝傑出緇門,萬古J39nB447_p0415a29香生佛剎。特為嘉志,莫負赤衷。珍重。
示嘯竹副寺
J39nB447_p0415b01參最上禪,須立沖霄志;習無漏業,應具破敵心。如是,J39nB447_p0415b02則銀山銕壁不愁打翻,驢腳佛手奚難透脫?不見靈J39nB447_p0415b03雲參持廿載、南嶽精究八春,若非心月吐輝、智燈發J39nB447_p0415b04焰,曷能人天頌美、今古稱善哉?況汝翻然悔昔久矣!J39nB447_p0415b05侍吾宜辦堅強,慎勿懈怠,定要提起慧刀劈破障蔽,J39nB447_p0415b06將靈雲廿載參持處細細檢點、南嶽八春精究處密J39nB447_p0415b07密推窮,忽然當陽覷破、直下貫通,原來最上之禪即J39nB447_p0415b08在尋常處、無漏之業不離日用中也。勉之!
贈圓融法姪
J39nB447_p0415b10不通文翰之者,傳燈多載;廣覽詩書之輩,祖圖不收。J39nB447_p0415b11所以達磨不用半字,六祖不識一丁者,此也。若我圓J39nB447_p0415b12融法姪,不事文墨,惟以見性明心,不涉世緣,獨是耕J39nB447_p0415b13雲鋤月,真達磨之脈派,六祖之種草也。特書法語以J39nB447_p0415b14贈。
示鐵航禪人
J39nB447_p0415b16東山佛法無高無下、非正非偏。雖然,不可以有心求、J39nB447_p0415b17不可以無心會,只貴當機薦取、覿面荷擔,方不負九J39nB447_p0415b18旬之中磨褌擦褲、三月之內斂意攝心。遂舉起筆云:J39nB447_p0415b19還是高下耶?偏正耶?向者裏檢點得出,始知東山佛J39nB447_p0415b20法出自平常。珍重!
示定生戒子
J39nB447_p0415b22客歲來山煎煮趙州茶,今歲來山乞求舍那戒。客歲J39nB447_p0415b23今歲且置,未審煎茶乞戒的是甚麼人?倘若會得,則J39nB447_p0415b24剔倒趙州關捩,扯破舍那梵網,未為分外。脫或未能,J39nB447_p0415b25趙州茶仔細參持,舍那戒精嚴守護。珍重。
壽貴陽太守葵菴許護法
J39nB447_p0415b27自古山林野逸,從不稱祝公卿大夫。今所稱祝者,其J39nB447_p0415b28所稱祝者,稱祝公之德重如山也,稱祝公之政美若J39nB447_p0415b29春也,稱祝公之精忠無殊器之也,稱祝公之大孝不J39nB447_p0415b30減蓼莪也,是所以稱祝也。
示溪舌禪人
J39nB447_p0415c02參學人,參須參到心融法界處、學必學至性朗虛空J39nB447_p0415c03時,方可求師印證、垂手接人,庶不負度水穿雲、親師J39nB447_p0415c04擇友。邇來宗風掃地、佛日埋雲,玉石不分、金鋀莫辯,J39nB447_p0415c05雖參而未到與麼境界、縱學而未至親切地頭,便欲J39nB447_p0415c06建立門庭、揄揚棒喝,如此類大似盲人詠日、狂夫捕J39nB447_p0415c07風,安能繼續曹源嫡脈、中興臨濟正宗?若我溪舌禪J39nB447_p0415c08人有超群志,能拔萃風骨,不被庸流簧、或不為鄙者J39nB447_p0415c09牢籠,求決擇而上東山、咨玄要而呈偈頌,禪懷磊落、J39nB447_p0415c10道況孤清,較未得謂得、未證謂證之徒不啻星壤。雖J39nB447_p0415c11然,還須豁開眼底障雲、放出胸中明月,始得暢快。到J39nB447_p0415c12這裏,則玉石不分而分、金鋀不辯而辯,又何患心融J39nB447_p0415c13法界、性朗虛空者哉?囑!囑!
示古梅禪者參狗子佛性有無
J39nB447_p0415c15狗子佛性無,春色滿江湖,登峰舒眺望,山川一畫圖。J39nB447_p0415c16狗子佛性有,白雲橫谷口,歸禽盡失巢,處處博風走。J39nB447_p0415c17雖如是,不唧溜,若遇個中人,未免笑破口。山僧與麼J39nB447_p0415c18批判,未審禪者能領會也未?如未領會,須向穿衣、喫J39nB447_p0415c19飯、撥火、拈香等處看去,看到月挂無根樹、梅落沒絃J39nB447_p0415c20琴時,許汝來東山堂上向老僧拈起拳云:老和尚!老J39nB447_p0415c21和尚!且道是有是無?
示石琴禪者參無絃琴
J39nB447_p0415c23東坡云:「若言聲在瑤琴上,放在匣中何不鳴?若言聲J39nB447_p0415c24在指頭上,何不於君指上聽?」既然,且道琴聲從甚麼J39nB447_p0415c25處生發?會得此意,不獨會沒絃琴裏聲,應巉巖幽谷,J39nB447_p0415c26無腔鼓內嚮,震流水高山,便會犬吠雞啼,松吟澗吼。J39nB447_p0415c27凡有聲者,莫不盡會,說甚麼伯牙動指,子溪知音?脫J39nB447_p0415c28或未然,不免重宣此義。竹籟鳴時雲石冷,松濤起處J39nB447_p0415c29雨風寒,欲知聲韻發生處,好把石琴仔細彈。
示鱗如禪人
J39nB447_p0416a01死何去也生何來,剔起眉毛做一回。做到二邊不立J39nB447_p0416a02處,紅爐裏面碧蓮開。碧蓮開,露珠湛,八極香風絕點J39nB447_p0416a03埃。只得木人欣滿面,石女笑盈腮。何也?喜他了脫,死J39nB447_p0416a04去生來。
示道源行者
J39nB447_p0416a06丈六金身乾屎橛,此個話頭最親切,賺他古今學道J39nB447_p0416a07流,奔南走北無間歇。無間歇,杖橫四海雲,足踏五湖J39nB447_p0416a08月,被人喝得耳聾、棒得腦裂,為甚麼乾屎橛?
示巨淵行者
J39nB447_p0416a10如何是佛麻三斤?搓就牽牛繩一根,挂在不萌枝子J39nB447_p0416a11上,年深月久會精人。會精人,入水不溺,入火不焚,縱J39nB447_p0416a12使大悲千手提之不去,金剛寶劍斬之不能。且道是J39nB447_p0416a13甚麼麻三斤?
劉副臺請題書齋匾并序
J39nB447_p0416a15雲翁護法,西夏世家。風度卓群,英姿挺秀。雖居宦海,J39nB447_p0416a16猶羨雲松。七載威鎮籠南,一期彪炳將府。殘雪解而J39nB447_p0416a17山城秀,荒煙靜而隴陌青。花植層臺,任蛺蝶而飛舞;J39nB447_p0416a18篁修曲徑,憑鸞鳳以寄棲。講武之餘,洗池邀月;治政J39nB447_p0416a19之暇,把酒臨風。兼以重構花宮,遠延龍象。壯柳營之J39nB447_p0416a20春色,開至道之香光。不減張浚高風,豈殊裴休雅況。J39nB447_p0416a21余與雲翁,神交數載,機扣一朝。納鄙拙於個中,話幽J39nB447_p0416a22閒於世外。是以聊題清嘯,用挂書軒。暢今日之雅懷,J39nB447_p0416a23集他年之公案云耳。
示缽蓮侍者
J39nB447_p0416a25國師喚侍者甚是分明,烏窠吹布毛何等親切,而人J39nB447_p0416a26於此不能領會,向外馳求,則無有是處。矧汝賦性淳J39nB447_p0416a27誠,為人樸實,且又早脫塵勞,久侍巾瓶,若非夙植德J39nB447_p0416a28本,何能成就如斯?既然,胡不將本有妙明當機覷破,J39nB447_p0416a29不無旨趣,直下圓通,始不負昂頭出愛網,信步入吾J39nB447_p0416a30門也。勉之。
