J37nB386_p0390b05「前日有箇知事進方丈,白云:『各寮行單雖是屢蒙開J37nB386_p0390b06示,奈何後學初機根器頑鈍,多說和尚佛法深奧,總J37nB386_p0390b07不省得一些些。望和尚慈悲委曲開示,或有易得明J37nB386_p0390b08曉底佛法與他們說說。』山僧不覺失笑。噓!屈哉,屈哉!J37nB386_p0390b09山僧自到者裏來說底話,那一句子是不分明直截J37nB386_p0390b10底?那一句子是謾昧你諸人底?莫道山僧,乃至從上J37nB386_p0390b11古今言教,一千七百則爛葛藤、五千四十餘軸破故J37nB386_p0390b12紙,那一句、那一言不是分明直截底?所以道:寧可說J37nB386_p0390b13阿羅漢有三毒,不可說如來有二種語。如來實無二J37nB386_p0390b14種語,祖師又道兩口無一舌。山僧到者裏直是分疏J37nB386_p0390b15不下,正不知那一句是深、那一句是淺?那一則是難、J37nB386_p0390b16那一則是易?教山僧如何揀得出來?嗄!有了。記得當J37nB386_p0390b17初有箇鳥窠和尚,因侍者告假,鳥窠云:『你那裏去?』者J37nB386_p0390b18云:『諸方學佛法去。』鳥窠云:『若是佛法,我者裏也有些。』J37nB386_p0390b19者云:『請和尚慈悲。』鳥窠便拈起布毛一吹,侍者當下J37nB386_p0390b20便悟去。者便是易底了。」師亦拈起布毛吹一吹,云:「還J37nB386_p0390b21有悟底麼?」眾皆默然,師云:「恁麼總不見有悟底。若是J37nB386_p0390b22者箇說話不會,更有什麼說話是易底聻?即心即佛J37nB386_p0390b23是易底,也不出者一吹;非心非佛是易底,也不出者J37nB386_p0390b24一吹;放下著洗缽盂去是易底,也不出者一吹;天龍J37nB386_p0390b25豎指、忻州打地是易底,也不出者一吹。至於德山棒、J37nB386_p0390b26臨濟喝、乾屎橛、麻三斤,古今知識、天下老和尚橫說J37nB386_p0390b27豎說、千說萬說、塵說剎說、晝夜說、熾然說,無間歇,還J37nB386_p0390b28出得者一吹麼?既出不得,如今合當悟去,因甚不悟?J37nB386_p0390b29嗄!莫是古來知識底佛法有靈驗,而今山僧底佛法J37nB386_p0390b30無靈驗那?嗄!或者山僧底佛法無靈驗也不可知。秖J37nB386_p0390c01如古人見桃花悟去底聻?難道桃花也是古時底有J37nB386_p0390c02靈驗,而今底不靈驗了?又有箇聞擊竹聲悟去底聻?J37nB386_p0390c03難道擊竹聲也是古時底有靈驗,而今底不靈驗了?J37nB386_p0390c04還有箇聞驢鳴悟去底聻?聞馬叫悟去底聻?聞蝦蟆J37nB386_p0390c05聲、畫角聲悟去底聻?乃至聞種種聲、見種種色悟去J37nB386_p0390c06底聻?難道者些驢馬畫角之類多是古來則靈驗,而J37nB386_p0390c07今都不靈驗了?諸仁!素無此理,仔細參詳看。若是而J37nB386_p0390c08今底桃花依舊是古來底桃花,擊竹聲也是古來底J37nB386_p0390c09擊竹聲,與夫驢鳴馬叫、蝦蟆畫角之類都不相異,依J37nB386_p0390c10舊古來底一般。既是都不相異依舊一般,則適來山J37nB386_p0390c11僧者一吹也與當時鳥窠底者一吹不相異也。若既J37nB386_p0390c12不相異,則山僧底用處即是古人底用處,古人底用J37nB386_p0390c13處即是山僧底用處。既然用處總是一般,古人若有J37nB386_p0390c14靈驗,則山僧亦有靈驗;山僧若無靈驗,則古人亦無J37nB386_p0390c15靈驗也。若是者樣看來,你們向來所參底什麼話頭?J37nB386_p0390c16麻三斤、乾屎橛、狗子無佛性、庭前柏樹子,萬法歸一,J37nB386_p0390c17一歸何處?父母未生前本來面目,乃至門口也打不J37nB386_p0390c18開、口也打觸不得、背不得,者一絡索豈不都是古人J37nB386_p0390c19底?既無靈驗,都不靈驗了也,枉用工夫,有什麼交涉?J37nB386_p0390c20所以道:本是醍醐上味,遇此等人反成毒藥。信矣!悲J37nB386_p0390c21夫!灼然!灼然!如今莫道山僧,設使即便喚起從上古J37nB386_p0390c22錐、德山、臨濟與夫鳥窠船子,運出無量神通、演出諸J37nB386_p0390c23般玅義,在你者一班瞌睡漢面前又有什麼用處?諸J37nB386_p0390c24仁!諸仁!你仔細反覆端詳看,畢竟是什麼道理?淆訛J37nB386_p0390c25又在什麼處?既是佛法本無兩樣,因甚古人便恁麼J37nB386_p0390c26悟去?如斯快,便如斯瞥脫。你莫道他古人根機利,易J37nB386_p0390c27得悟;我們根器淺,所以難。我勸你莫作如是話。我問J37nB386_p0390c28你:你底為生死心,還如古人一般也未?精進決烈,還J37nB386_p0390c29如古人一般也未?純一無雜,還如古人一般也未?堅J37nB386_p0390c30心死誓,還如古人一般也未?捍勞忍苦,還如古人一J37nB386_p0391a01般也未?痛自鞭策,還如古人一般也未?既然不曾如J37nB386_p0391a02是一番,便要如古人一般樣悟去,也須直待驢年。諸J37nB386_p0391a03仁!端知此箇事,莫尋他覓,須是自尋門路始得,全不J37nB386_p0391a04在他語言上。你如今胸次中凡有隔礙透不過處,便J37nB386_p0391a05是你底生死根本、便是你底真善知識,便當時時請J37nB386_p0391a06問他、時時與他挨拶,如生冤家一般,一些也不要放J37nB386_p0391a07過他,久久純熟,有些相應,逢時遇緣,觸著磕著,便悟J37nB386_p0391a08去也不可知。若是秖教山僧與你說、與你道,莫道賺J37nB386_p0391a09誤你去,山僧也要留取口喫飯。秖如你更教山僧說J37nB386_p0391a10箇什麼?道箇什麼?若說禪、說道、說玄、說玅,者箇是造J37nB386_p0391a11地獄業;若是教山僧警策你一番,究竟你一上者箇J37nB386_p0391a12自有溈山警策文、怡山發願文、大彌陀、小彌陀種種J37nB386_p0391a13文,你難道朝暮不曾念那詞句?極是宛轉義理,又極J37nB386_p0391a14悲切,教山僧說也說不出、做也做不來。嗄!莫是難道J37nB386_p0391a15和尚自己豈無幾句說話開發他們?只管引古引今,J37nB386_p0391a16推托作麼?你若恁麼說話,一發錯過山僧不少矣。你J37nB386_p0391a17若要知山僧底委曲開示處麼?打版時共你齋堂裏J37nB386_p0391a18喫飯,內逼起來與你一般樣後架上屙屎,閒時在繩J37nB386_p0391a19床上打兩箇瞌睡,夜來伸長了兩腳一𭔏,者箇便是J37nB386_p0391a20山僧底真實相為處、極新鮮底言句、極明白底佛法。J37nB386_p0391a21若是開口掉舌、動手動腳,施底玅用、說底佛法,盡是J37nB386_p0391a22從上老凍儂棄下底涕唾、拋落底草鞋,豈可只管將J37nB386_p0391a23來穢污你們底心田?」拱手,云:「不要久立,喫茶去!喫茶J37nB386_p0391a24去!」
示蔡石函居士
J37nB386_p0391a26若論此事,實無工夫可做。然無工夫做處,正好做工J37nB386_p0391a27夫,不可謂無工夫可做便休。若恁麼便休,則永無了J37nB386_p0391a28手底時節。直須實做,到實無工夫做處,此亦謂之小J37nB386_p0391a29歇場。然至此,則寶所在近也。參究時,正要在銀山銕J37nB386_p0391a30壁當面礙卻進亦無門、退亦無路之處用力挨拶。須J37nB386_p0391b01知銀山銕壁中有通天路,不可向人口中求覓,亦不J37nB386_p0391b02得冊子上追尋,只在當人一挨拶透,始信者條活路J37nB386_p0391b03元在自己腳跟下,一步不離、一步不即,用不得一毫J37nB386_p0391b04頭心機、用不得一毫頭智巧。若用心機智巧,是則心J37nB386_p0391b05機智巧非所以做工夫也。所以古人到者裏,直得千J37nB386_p0391b06般伎倆、萬般施設,一時窮盡。故云:「去年貧,未是貧;今J37nB386_p0391b07年貧,始是貧。去年貧,猶有卓錐之地;今年貧,錐也無。」J37nB386_p0391b08到此貧無錐卓,方知自家寶藏一切具足,使用自在,J37nB386_p0391b09不假外求,自己財寶隨身受用,可謂快活。更有一句J37nB386_p0391b10子,待你快活一上,與你道破。
示寰濟慈侍者
J37nB386_p0391b12拔濟四生,出離苦海,莫作婦女之仁。衲僧家須具大J37nB386_p0391b13丈夫作略,提起金剛王寶劍,一味當頭直截,勦絕盡J37nB386_p0391b14大地人命根,奮力向前,逢佛殺佛、逢祖殺祖、逢父母J37nB386_p0391b15殺父母、逢自己殺自己。不見龐居士言:「護生須是殺,J37nB386_p0391b16殺盡始安居,會得箇中意,銕船水上浮。」你看他是箇J37nB386_p0391b17俗漢,拚得下此一刀,殺得乾淨,直下得箇大安樂田J37nB386_p0391b18地,與一切人同一受用,故能說得者般語話。要知運J37nB386_p0391b19四生出苦海,須是銕船水上浮即得。銕船既可浮,更J37nB386_p0391b20有甚處不可濟者歟?正如古王太子採寶一般,深入J37nB386_p0391b21大海直至寶所,必得雨寶摩尼乃肯歸國,然後盡四J37nB386_p0391b22天下之困乏窮民均獲其利益,豈非大慈悲願王所J37nB386_p0391b23作所為?若此,方可為寰濟二字相稱也。若以偏小之J37nB386_p0391b24見、溝渠之量,所蓄既不豐,其用豈能博?濟得甚事?參J37nB386_p0391b25學人不有此等器量作略,何止濟人不得?將恐累劫J37nB386_p0391b26千生自救不了,可不勉諸?
示惻侍者易字夢帆
J37nB386_p0391b28黃面老子興慈運悲,出現於世;碧眼胡僧傳法度迷,J37nB386_p0391b29萬里西來。五千餘軸破故紙,曲盡柔腸;千七百則爛J37nB386_p0391b30葛藤,直攄衷血。若以正眼觀來,正是好肉剜瘡,無夢J37nB386_p0391c01說夢。雖然,不可見恁麼說便休;若便休,不落在無事J37nB386_p0391c02甲裏,則墮解脫深阬中耳。不妨時時以夢中佛事作J37nB386_p0391c03幻海舟航,不著此岸、不著彼岸、不住中流,度盡夢中J37nB386_p0391c04勞侶,方信道如來所謂滅度者實無眾生,而滅度之J37nB386_p0391c05法如是,故非是強為。然則山僧更有一說,要得確實J37nB386_p0391c06相應,即以大地為舟、拈一莖艸為帆,不必檣栽兔角、J37nB386_p0391c07纜繫龜毛,逆順境風一任東來西來,亦不作夢想、亦J37nB386_p0391c08不作非夢想,上至十方諸佛、下及蠢動含靈,好不資J37nB386_p0391c09一毫、醜不資一毫,都盧盡在此中。且道看風把柁者J37nB386_p0391c10是什麼人?畢竟要到什麼處歸宿?試著眼看。
授吳霜崖居士
J37nB386_p0391c12居士初問道於弘覺老人揚之淨慧園,予時掌記室,J37nB386_p0391c13與士始納交焉。繼而首眾枯木堂,每訊及箇事,閒有J37nB386_p0391c14睦州之激發、三平之傍通。丙申春,予受湘陰神鼎之J37nB386_p0391c15請,道過真州,士館于別業,時相叩擊,授以高峰無夢J37nB386_p0391c16無想主人公話參之,雖未即能爆地斷、碎地折,然潛J37nB386_p0391c17參密究,孜孜孑孑,未嘗以世務經心,婚嫁未畢,少怠J37nB386_p0391c18於中耳。茲以闊別既久,積想攸深,乃航一葦西渡過J37nB386_p0391c19訪,而忻然良晤,復館于書齋,未免追理葛藤舊案。舉J37nB386_p0391c20初祖遊梁機語問云:「秖如道不識,還是達磨不識?為J37nB386_p0391c21復武帝不識?」士云:「不落見聞。」即成一偈云:「欲識主人J37nB386_p0391c22公,正在不識中,本來真面目,非色亦非空。」予笑云:居J37nB386_p0391c23士二十餘年參禪,且喜知得飯是米做、鍋是銕鑄矣。J37nB386_p0391c24隨舉女子出定因緣問之,士連下數語皆不契,坐至J37nB386_p0391c25深夜,著語云:「風送滕王閣,雷轟薦福碑。」予云:「猶屬儱J37nB386_p0391c26侗,畢竟淆訛在何處?」士遂頌出:「十哲何須兼四科?因J37nB386_p0391c27材器使不須多,鴛鴦繡出從君看,休把金針當玉梭。」J37nB386_p0391c28予又徵以趙州勘婆子話,士云:「兩箇無孔銕鎚。」予深J37nB386_p0391c29喜此番可謂不虛渡江也。然古人云:「我禪如大海,愈J37nB386_p0391c30入愈深。」居士亦不以得少為足,直欲與維摩老子、龐J37nB386_p0392a01襄陽把手共行,始為休歇。茲以法物表信,所謂五祖J37nB386_p0392a02老人云:「吾助汝喜。」他時更得移身換步,到佛祖摸索J37nB386_p0392a03不著處,不勝加額。復說偈云:「二十年前曾種毒,而今J37nB386_p0392a04痛處更加錐,始知絕後重甦處,不負生平兩道眉。」又J37nB386_p0392a05「金粟曾為居士身,居塵不染果超倫,維揚近日風光J37nB386_p0392a06別,一朵優曇劫外春。」
