昨貴將官持書至山開讀再四見居士夙具上乘般J39nB450_p0504c01若靈根深信宗風於法門也然則法門不為不具最J39nB450_p0504c02上乘者說之豈是小根小智所能擔荷而於三家村J39nB450_p0504c03裏作癡呆模樣以為千了百當所以我先佛世尊在J39nB450_p0504c04種種訶叱以為如稻麻竹葦充滿十方剎此是一J39nB450_p0504c05番教誨也而今時人不具擇法眼目以木偶人者為J39nB450_p0504c06絕世忘情殊不知打在沉潭死水無事甲裏矣那是J39nB450_p0504c07學道人實為生死不明關頭不破疑情不決而又不J39nB450_p0504c08肯親近大善知識打徹膏之病經中六祖有云:「J39nB450_p0504c09道別覓道終身不見道波波度一生到頭還自懊。」J39nB450_p0504c10是點出學人之病痛也然而真參實悟真履實踐J39nB450_p0504c11在深下疑情此大疑中必有大悟若不深下疑情J39nB450_p0504c12不有悟門也然今時人多是以冊子上文字討箇分J39nB450_p0504c13須是得便宜處失便宜也所謂覽本似悟過後還J39nB450_p0504c14蓋謂入門一著不曾諦當也故此本地風光不清J39nB450_p0504c15楚處腳跟不穩當處鼻孔不遼天處蓋是工夫不到J39nB450_p0504c16不方圓也而貧道苦口所說者正欲居士頂門具眼J39nB450_p0504c17勿受邪見則不忘靈山會上先佛世尊付囑國王大J39nB450_p0504c18臣一段大事在今日也然雖居士不忘正因欲貧道J39nB450_p0504c19住此國興禪林打這番鼓笛不推欲利而利人J39nB450_p0504c20欲達而達人此是居士一片聖賢心腸也貧道目下J39nB450_p0504c21非為不赴來命俟秋當合如願倘有見地不妨再商J39nB450_p0504c22是復

思唐重晤又是一番奇特因緣也貧道每無事時J39nB450_p0504c25這段因緣自從上名儒家如裴休丞相及張無盡丞J39nB450_p0504c26居士等輩以此事為實念放下高官爵位聲名擔J39nB450_p0504c27向此門留心參見一箇半箇善知識痛為生死關J39nB450_p0504c28急欲求向上鉗錘一擊擊碎免得金枷玉鎖繫著J39nB450_p0504c29於身便做不得撒手撒腳快活人矣所以遍參諸方J39nB450_p0504c30歷究此事打徹這箇無始劫來習氣黑漆桶子幸爾J39nB450_p0505a01徹底掀翻去盡現業流識如人萬里還家便見元本J39nB450_p0505a02故物及親生父母始知自主人公有安身立命去J39nB450_p0505a03終不做伶俜途路中人辛苦狀也幾欲想到此間J39nB450_p0505a04不覺偶遇知談及宗門向上一事如芥投鍼如水J39nB450_p0505a05合乳然則居士不以名位自尊富貴自拘而貧道纔J39nB450_p0505a06言當今之世似居士官至宰相位居極品壽可如山J39nB450_p0505a07福可如海子孫滿眼一門全盛此大福慧之全人也J39nB450_p0505a08如今正好幹這件大事時時參究刻刻提撕把做一J39nB450_p0505a09件實事如致君澤民心腸一樣必要著實做去方纔J39nB450_p0505a10有此地步占在萬人之上爵可尊也位可高也自然J39nB450_p0505a11堂上一呼庭下百諾如大道之在目前不費纖毫之J39nB450_p0505a12便是取之無盡用之無窮而為造物之無盡藏也J39nB450_p0505a13方是到家之消息矣若其不然則貧道與居士兩地J39nB450_p0505a14奇逢總是虛作人情面則互相恭敬不面則各自稱J39nB450_p0505a15豈是道人之所為必欲為人須為徹窮源須到底J39nB450_p0505a16方是大丈夫之所行持不枉作相識一番方纔是痛J39nB450_p0505a17心知將此大事如救頭然只要信得及作得主J39nB450_p0505a18得定如靠一座須彌山相似任是八面風來吹一不J39nB450_p0505a19撼一不去如在千人萬人之中如無一人相似J39nB450_p0505a20是得力去處到此地位不可輕蔑於人若有一念J39nB450_p0505a21動在心便生我人眾生見者何以故如孔子道:「子絕J39nB450_p0505a22毋意毋必母固毋我。」這便是孔子忘人我滅影響J39nB450_p0505a23境界出羅籠脫窠臼之消息也此是我釋迦老人之J39nB450_p0505a24大受用也然即貧道故不當論如公之聰明蓋世J39nB450_p0505a25識沖天不比常人之世業也蓋貧道之所說者正是J39nB450_p0505a26與公千里奇逢難得一遇也而今士大夫非是不聰J39nB450_p0505a27不領略不好此事者只為理路多障事路所蔽J39nB450_p0505a28不得自由自在而返被之乎也者之所深障矣只是J39nB450_p0505a29入門一步下手一著卒難得做工夫而擺脫不開者J39nB450_p0505a30蓋謂學識知見之所固蔽也若要放得下做得去J39nB450_p0505b01要參箇話頭或是萬法歸一一歸何處必時時提在J39nB450_p0505b02目前朝也是箇疑團暮也是箇疑團行住坐臥也是J39nB450_p0505b03箇疑團哀樂喜怒也是箇疑團疑來疑去疑到水窮J39nB450_p0505b04山盡處轉得身來處豁然築碎疑團通身快活全機J39nB450_p0505b05大用始信不從人得原來是我自本有大笑J39nB450_p0505b06一聲可惜一向癡狂外走枉受一生馳騁四方了矣J39nB450_p0505b07然雖居士不是這般見地大率出乎其類拔乎其萃J39nB450_p0505b08不足與居士道也俟再會時莫道貧道不道惟高明J39nB450_p0505b09鑑之前承接貧道門人住院者每不深感謝謝

接手教知居士以多生具金剛般若慧命為因而得J39nB450_p0505b12最上根器為種一會貧道之間如膠似漆如龍得水J39nB450_p0505b13更不周由者也承諭靜室所云此收拾之不難在行J39nB450_p0505b14止之早決讀至此不覺發一笑聲非笑居士之不高J39nB450_p0505b15明也卻笑貧道之不任於保社也若不任於保社J39nB450_p0505b16恐辜負一片堅固善念若欲任其保社則常住之事J39nB450_p0505b17物一一必欲居士直下承當而住持之道果不虛也J39nB450_p0505b18故曰住持要在得人得人要在具眼苟不具眼則彼J39nB450_p0505b19此之心而無益於保社也然今時人多以建叢林而J39nB450_p0505b20不具其眼目但要是箇長老就是勿論表裏相慎不J39nB450_p0505b21相慎載道不載道只圖大家往來有箇香火而僧稱J39nB450_p0505b22王公大人為恩檀者此皆是有道氣人也無道氣人J39nB450_p0505b23若是具眼居士誠然緇素必不取笑於大方也J39nB450_p0505b24大方之者行事必合於古發言必重於道方是住持J39nB450_p0505b25之見識也若或苟求名聞如躄者命在杖失杖則顛J39nB450_p0505b26渡者命在舟失舟則溺不惟有益於法門而且有玷J39nB450_p0505b27於佛祖也然居士弘護法門勁切之心不昧靈山付J39nB450_p0505b28囑示現宰官為公為侯而爵在人之上者此居士不J39nB450_p0505b29被功名富貴之所籠絡也貧道屢蒙見招難推教命J39nB450_p0505b30允悉不宣此復

昔在思唐時每承護法對貧道所談者是佛法之理J39nB450_p0505c03所講者皆聖賢之章而終日不慮於世緣者也如居J39nB450_p0505c04士之道學博物不凡窮理不俗雖居宰官而無有宰J39nB450_p0505c05官之氣雖住城郭而無城郭之聲但心上所存者忠J39nB450_p0505c06而面上所敬者高人誠然白居易居士之再來應J39nB450_p0505c07身而撐持儒釋之大道也喜慶喜慶然貧道近日所J39nB450_p0505c08喜者惟居士一人所憂者惟居士一人喜則喜其天J39nB450_p0505c09資卓越才品當世憂則憂其向上一著工夫難做J39nB450_p0505c10是居士力量之不加也蓋謂理學難化翳障於心便J39nB450_p0505c11擺不開所以依他作解塞自悟門便不得脫灑灑地J39nB450_p0505c12無拘無束活鱍鱍地自在自由變大地作黃金攪長J39nB450_p0505c13河為酥酪而為出格明眼人也如今請居士肯依貧J39nB450_p0505c14道數十年所做工夫方法靜也還他一禪動也還他J39nB450_p0505c15一禪住也還他一禪乃至一切善惡都莫思量單單J39nB450_p0505c16提箇話頭或是吾道一以貫之畢竟以何為道以何J39nB450_p0505c17為一以何為貫朝也頻頻覷著暮也頻頻覷著覷來J39nB450_p0505c18覷去到下手不及處工夫極則處正在煩惱處不得J39nB450_p0505c19大悟處忽然覷破這些子吾道一以貫之不在別處J39nB450_p0505c20就在日用尋常中穿衣喫飯中官至尚書中位在高J39nB450_p0505c21堂中便是隨流任得性無喜亦無憂所謂傅大士有J39nB450_p0505c22:「有物先天地無形本寂寥能為萬象主不逐四時J39nB450_p0505c23。」到此這樣好受用好風光不妨再布施貧道些J39nB450_p0505c24見數十年以來道契一番而為大護法一番是真語J39nB450_p0505c25是實語者必不誑語也自此貧道再不敢以世俗J39nB450_p0505c26之態亂教老先生也真是出三界越四生之榜樣J39nB450_p0505c27特稍數為問幸勿罪我

讀來翰無一字一句不是楞嚴血脈大全之旨一門J39nB450_p0505c30深入妙莊嚴彈指超無學之地者內翰有也楞嚴J39nB450_p0506a01乃三世諸佛之慧命歷代祖師之關鍵一切菩薩之J39nB450_p0506a02要路三界天人之眼目也而今諸家講者尚未得於J39nB450_p0506a03楞嚴之骨髓往往不過尋行數墨攀枝摘葉而不悟J39nB450_p0506a04根源者此皆是人之大病貧道幾欲奉箇捷徑醫方J39nB450_p0506a05便道:「懷州牛喫禾益州馬腹脹天下覓醫人炙豬左J39nB450_p0506a06膞上。」若是有血性男子聞其此方用其湯藥而煎煮J39nB450_p0506a07服之無病不瘥無方不效也今時人俗物不化者J39nB450_p0506a08喜老先生稱之而復有載道之器者最喜居士好之J39nB450_p0506a09此是世出世間一等清高眼界也然而內翰之別號J39nB450_p0506a10醉和尚者又是一等格外奇特人也且二乘聲聞小J39nB450_p0506a11果之人一飲菩提酒醉尚經八萬塵劫而不能醒J39nB450_p0506a12況外道之流而更不能醒也此是禪中之病也是病J39nB450_p0506a13中之禪也是葛藤窩絆倒而無出身之路不到家鄉J39nB450_p0506a14地矣今貧道以別是一番斬新日月特地乾坤眼目J39nB450_p0506a15視內翰於大方之上也久欲奉送松蘿茶來與內翰J39nB450_p0506a16誠恐是美味不中飽人喫也而又欲奉蒙山頂上J39nB450_p0506a17茶來喫誠恐又是貧道私人情也不若奉些趙州茶J39nB450_p0506a18來作解酒渴而作一箇醒和尚也然則和尚一醒J39nB450_p0506a19門自然眼開必道舉世皆醉而我獨醒舉世皆濁而J39nB450_p0506a20我獨清不獨楞嚴一部全旨就是三藏十二部一切J39nB450_p0506a21修多羅在於內翰一毫頭上轉大法輪一毛孔中而J39nB450_p0506a22現寶王剎土則不枉貧道為世外相親之骨肉也J39nB450_p0506a23

今禪師既不愛功名富貴不受世之塵網者是之不J39nB450_p0506a26錯也既而下髮為世外之高人以青山作伴綠水為J39nB450_p0506a27木石為居鹿豕同遊而悠悠風月任樂天真處處J39nB450_p0506a28春花而為詩料喜時歌作天地無窮之生意悶時飲J39nB450_p0506a29為宇宙格外之賢人真乃天子不得而臣王侯不得J39nB450_p0506a30而友此禪師別具一番眼界有何錯也然而所錯者J39nB450_p0506b01想是曠大劫來一箇路頭不因一念萌動來為儒家J39nB450_p0506b02做箇書債人物今爾官至中丞而書債酬矣今欲思J39nB450_p0506b03其舊時本來面目原是靈山種子何故還做這頂紗J39nB450_p0506b04帽頭氣一旦奮發勇猛而欲披緇於深山窮谷之中J39nB450_p0506b05是不錯也今禪師何故言其大錯者莫不是一腔熱J39nB450_p0506b06血未曾冷忠肝義膽而欲上報

昨承翰玉讀之再三真不忘靈山願力示現宰官身J39nB450_p0507b28然此一件大事能有幾人向蒲團上留心歷歷究J39nB450_p0507b29超然獨醒者惟居士不下大唐一夥人也敬羨J39nB450_p0507b30且來翰言塵緣牽絆殊不知還有箇離塵緣人也J39nB450_p0507c01如此看來卻成兩箇豈居士之外猶有居士也大約J39nB450_p0507c02會得過來如蓮花處淤泥而不染明珠投濁水而常J39nB450_p0507c03即是居士不脩滅靜定而現諸威儀不捨凡夫法J39nB450_p0507c04而起殊勝行為最上乘之根器也正合馮楫居士有J39nB450_p0507c05:「公事之餘喜坐禪未曾將脅到床眠雖然示現宰官J39nB450_p0507c06長老之名天下傳。」此是居士一夥在家人幹出家J39nB450_p0507c07人事業也居士乃一榜才人見在五馬候惟廉清正J39nB450_p0507c08撫恤庶民就是沒塵緣處面靈光獨耀迥脫根塵耳J39nB450_p0507c09而時人都稱李菩薩正是做官即是做佛耶而愛民J39nB450_p0507c10即是愛道也然而付囑之心只要居士自肯何必貧J39nB450_p0507c11道肯之居士果有自肯之心而令弟天湖擔荷驢年J39nB450_p0507c12擔子想是銅頭鐵額全在我山中方纔與居士為親J39nB450_p0507c13骨肉之肝膽弟兄老僧正脈也怡然不盡是復
