J29nB244_p0703b08示眾。「象馬有角、牛羊無角,烏龜三尺毛、崑崙一丈腳。J29nB244_p0703b09倒駕鐵船山頂遊,橫騎木馬潭中過,黑頭生個白頭J29nB244_p0703b10兒,無手抱著有手臥。參!」
J29nB244_p0703b11示眾。「有一人有頭無尾,有一人有尾無頭,有一人頭J29nB244_p0703b12尾俱全,有一人頭尾俱不全。揀辨得出,各下一轉語。J29nB244_p0703b13不然,山僧代為註破:『有頭無尾,就市老漁歸不得;有J29nB244_p0703b14尾無頭,臥雲野叟出門難;頭尾俱全,入市穿雲往來J29nB244_p0703b15自在;頭尾不全,身上毛不出、腦後角不生。』若是驀直J29nB244_p0703b16相逢,切須仔細。」
J29nB244_p0703b17示眾。「夜來拄杖子,無端惡發噴地,跳出玄關、頓開金J29nB244_p0703b18鎖,一頭撞破虛空血流滿地,忙道個飽齁齁,喫了不J29nB244_p0703b19療饑。仍駕一隻無底鐵船,泛入洪波浪裡閑觀把戲。J29nB244_p0703b20見一夥憂鳧悲鶴,說短道長;無數瓠子冬瓜,辯曲理J29nB244_p0703b21直。伊乃放身輥在裡許,直得瓦解冰消,懡㦬而散。正J29nB244_p0703b22恁麼時,心灰氣盡、意絕情忘,翻轉身來,已是木雞啼J29nB244_p0703b23夜、芻狗吠明,泥人拍板、石女橫簫。大眾見麼?八十翁J29nB244_p0703b24翁輥繡毬,真誠不作小兒戲。」
J29nB244_p0703b25示眾。「雞寒上樹、鴨寒下水,粥稀後坐、床窄先臥。蟭螟J29nB244_p0703b26眼裡開夜市,蝸牛角上打鞦韆。道!是甚麼語話?」
J29nB244_p0703b27示眾。「興龍無事,一味穿衣喫飯,卻教汝等向長連床J29nB244_p0703b28上合著眼、盧著嘴、趺著膝,一個個擦褲磨裙有甚交J29nB244_p0703b29涉?咦!」
J29nB244_p0703b30示眾。「末法時代,巧偽日生,叢林規矩,略而不講。上下J29nB244_p0703c01無禮、進退無節,起居食息,縱逸乖違。視繩趍尺步者,J29nB244_p0703c02為拘謹之夫;以蕩檢踰閑者,為曠達之士。二三作黨,J29nB244_p0703c03侈口譏彈;五六成群,牽襟嘻笑。傳言送語而畫蛇添J29nB244_p0703c04足,背非面是而射影含沙。挾愛憎之私,枉毀譽之實,J29nB244_p0703c05使東西疑忌、內外參商,玄黃戰、水火爭,有由來矣!其J29nB244_p0703c06或不自檢束,動靜乖方、容止失序,驕心傲氣、亂性渝J29nB244_p0703c07真,鄙物輕人、喪淳薄德。不分老幼、不識尊卑、不恤愚J29nB244_p0703c08蒙、不看病苦。甚至裸身跣足,師作弟隨,放飲高歌,此J29nB244_p0703c09倡彼和,迷而不悟,習以成風。嗚乎!法門凋敝,僧行穢J29nB244_p0703c10污亦至此乎!古人云:『非先王之法服不敢服,非先王J29nB244_p0703c11之法言不敢言,非先王之法行不敢行。』世間士尚爾J29nB244_p0703c12兢兢自持,而況出世間者哉?豈知佛祖相傳,為此一J29nB244_p0703c13段大事因緣,為所難為、忍所難忍。慎小以及大,謹始J29nB244_p0703c14而慮終。名利不關其胸,得喪不攖其志。逆來順受,煩J29nB244_p0703c15惱海徹底無波;就下平高,人我山微塵不起。奉持淨J29nB244_p0703c16戒似皓玉之無瘕,嚴護心珠如牟尼之在掌。事無巨J29nB244_p0703c17細而凜以小心,道絕顯微而擔以大力。不問鑊湯爐J29nB244_p0703c18炭,但期弘法利生。六度萬行齊修,四恩三有普報。詎J29nB244_p0703c19曰小家子規規尺幅之中?夫亦過量人歷歷修行之J29nB244_p0703c20詣有如是耳。悲夫!祖庭秋晚,佛道凌夷。娛情適意之J29nB244_p0703c21場,好行處人人著腳,且謂得個便宜;拌死忘生之地,J29nB244_p0703c22難做底個個寒心,何曾積些功行?求其慈悲真實、忍J29nB244_p0703c23辱謙和,坎而不盈、卑以自牧,不惱亂夫大眾、不愧怍J29nB244_p0703c24於龍天,以謹節制度為師承、以遷善改過為良友。積J29nB244_p0703c25以累歲負舂執爨,辛勤十年,念年用之;一朝把釣持J29nB244_p0703c26竿,撥著一個半個,守先待後,紹祖承宗,若而人者,殆J29nB244_p0703c27若龜毛兔角而杳不可得矣!大約無智之徒,甘心暴J29nB244_p0703c28棄,作意佯狂,忽略細微,顛倒軌範,愈趨愈下,日背日J29nB244_p0703c29馳。《語》云:『焰焰不滅、炎炎若何;涓涓不塞,終為江河;綿J29nB244_p0703c30綿不絕,或成網羅;毫末不札,將尋斧柯。』彼蓋有見於J29nB244_p0704a01遠久甚大之害,無有紀極而為之言歟!山僧心傷已J29nB244_p0704a02久,目擊良多,幾番泣路悲絲,非謂辯白競黑,誠恐後J29nB244_p0704a03進之流隨波逐浪,直得不惜口業點似諸人。凡我及J29nB244_p0704a04門,寧為眾濁之清,毋作亂苗之莠。虛空可壞,規矩勿J29nB244_p0704a05壞;山嶽可頹,規矩勿頹;滄海可變,規矩勿變。將見叢J29nB244_p0704a06林整飭、龍象崢嶸,寢熾寢昌、可傳可法,模範豈同小J29nB244_p0704a07小哉?略示軌儀,次列於左。」
J29nB244_p0704a08示眾。「山僧昨夜夢中說法,云:『萬境皆幻、萬象俱空;一J29nB244_p0704a09切心生,心生一切。空幻既滅,心亦何存?生滅無依,無J29nB244_p0704a10依空幻。』此山僧囈語也,勿用記取。」
J29nB244_p0704a11示眾。「興龍山間,數期積雪,河山草木,片玉打成,一朝J29nB244_p0704a12旭日東昇,茅簷墮淚。睜起眼來,山猶是山、水猶是水,J29nB244_p0704a13為天為喬,分眉列目。正恁麼時,如何是道人行履?莫J29nB244_p0704a14言一色渾無事,更有風流向後看。」
J29nB244_p0704a15示眾。「一二三四五,今不今、古不古;六七八九十,乾者J29nB244_p0704a16乾、濕者濕。趙錢孫李沒奈何,周吳鄭王無巴鼻。天地J29nB244_p0704a17人、日月星,秋冬春夏、水火木金。逢人且說三分話,未J29nB244_p0704a18可全拋一片心。」
J29nB244_p0704a19示眾。「父母未生,聰明不有,形骸既具,耳目皆靈。叵耐J29nB244_p0704a20逐色隨聲無有了日?可憐生!把本來面孔變成鬼腦J29nB244_p0704a21神頭,眼波波地、耳聒聒地,那得個收視返聽、如聾似J29nB244_p0704a22瞽底人?說到這裡,覺得山僧有些不平。如今且教你J29nB244_p0704a23秖管向鬧市場中稠人所在走過一回,看你腳跟下J29nB244_p0704a24有些氣力不?若是站地得穩,不東倒西歪;又要扭著J29nB244_p0704a25你鼻頭,問你每日間耳朵邊、眼睛邊,聞底、見底是個J29nB244_p0704a26甚麼?因思香嚴、靈雲大沒勾當,他也從擊竹觀花處J29nB244_p0704a27出過一身白汗來,似這般伎倆,落在山僧手中,各打J29nB244_p0704a28三十拄杖一下也較不得。為甚如此?不見道:『從門入J29nB244_p0704a29者,不是家珍。』又且放寬一著,打開觀音、文殊二門,姑J29nB244_p0704a30容你們出入。古人云:『聲不是聲、色不是色。』的的底道J29nB244_p0704b01看!又云:『情封則物、理契則神。』也須放活鱍些好。恁麼J29nB244_p0704b02看來,未審聰明作麼生用?聽得這樣說話,設有個漢J29nB244_p0704b03出來道:『某甲不在聲色裡作活計。』我直得無言可答,J29nB244_p0704b04緊閉著方丈去也。還有末後一句想要與你點出,爭J29nB244_p0704b05奈山僧耳瞎。」
J29nB244_p0704b06示眾。「興龍驗人有三句:第一、要迸開頂門;第二、要扭J29nB244_p0704b07轉鼻孔;第三、要脫體逍遙。須是不動唇皮分明道答,J29nB244_p0704b08還有同生同死底麼?」
J29nB244_p0704b09示眾。「參禪人若要此事穩當,除非三年、五年、十年、二J29nB244_p0704b10十年,方有點胸自許分,如徒向他人喉下取氣,則口J29nB244_p0704b11頭訣、耳邊風有何益哉?學者切須自審。」
J29nB244_p0704b12示眾。「五雲千言萬語,止向汝等道得途路邊事,至於J29nB244_p0704b13到家一句必待自證自修,不然,終被別人瞞過。可嘆J29nB244_p0704b14可嘆!」
J29nB244_p0704b15示眾。「佛法不是鮮魚,那怕爛卻?恁麼道,也是淚出痛J29nB244_p0704b16腸。山僧每日口吧吧地,就汝等高低資質深淺工夫J29nB244_p0704b17隨方就便搭梯設階,指引一條向上路,等汝各自到J29nB244_p0704b18家便休。似這般癡心不了,總為冤債未酬,故造如許J29nB244_p0704b19口業。無奈汝等視為泛常,把對症語言聽作打傳口J29nB244_p0704b20令,獐頭鹿耳,大家鬧鬨一場又懡㦬而休,何曾經心J29nB244_p0704b21著意來?殊不知生死事大,無常迅速?正恁麼時,譬如J29nB244_p0704b22病者將欲垂危,急求一救,覓得個明醫國手,莫管人J29nB244_p0704b23參、貝母、甘草、黃連,但要起死回生,臨灘一劑解毒湯、J29nB244_p0704b24清涼散入口便服;保和丸、益壽丹到手便吞。吞下肚J29nB244_p0704b25中,冷冰冰、熱烘烘,或補或瀉、或汗或消,自然搜腸剔J29nB244_p0704b26胃、袪害除根。若是諱疾忌醫寧死不服,久久病入膏J29nB244_p0704b27肓,縱遇扁鵲、盧醫,直得撫膺長嘆!獨不念因病與藥、J29nB244_p0704b28診候用方,渠家費了多少辛苦,難道是圖你利市藥J29nB244_p0704b29資,肥家快口底?難道是怕你喪身失命,沒個替代底?J29nB244_p0704b30難道是救你一人圖好名聞,等他舖面行時底?總之,J29nB244_p0704c01切膚之痛、同患之憂,即我大覺醫王救度一切眾生J29nB244_p0704c02之悲願也,抑更有說焉?病之傷於行住坐臥者,昏沉、J29nB244_p0704c03妄想也;病之結於五蘊、六根者,色、聲、香、味也;病之匿J29nB244_p0704c04於心腕臟腑者,無明、煩惱也。以至種種人我、種種是J29nB244_p0704c05非、種種逐境隨緣,諸般不正之病,病之粗者也。若夫J29nB244_p0704c06聖解不除、凡情不盡、三際未斷、諸漏未消,多端微細J29nB244_p0704c07之病不能枚舉者,要在當人自調、自攝、自重軀命可J29nB244_p0704c08爾!甘苦自知、痛癢自覺,起沉痾而養聖胎,證金剛而J29nB244_p0704c09得不壞,予於諸人有厚望焉!昔人有言曰:『淮州牛喫J29nB244_p0704c10禾、益州馬腹脹,天下覓醫人,炙豬左膊上。』山僧曰:不J29nB244_p0704c11是好手。亦有一偈:『張病便醫張、李病便醫李,風寒暑J29nB244_p0704c12濕要分明,莫將頭痛眼花認作痰瘧脹痞。』五雲有味J29nB244_p0704c13死貓頭,加上引子,服也在你、不服也在你。珍重!」
J29nB244_p0704c14示眾。「山僧十數年前以見見;十數年後以不見見,而J29nB244_p0704c15今覓個見與不見了不可得。汝等諸人作麼生檢點?J29nB244_p0704c16若檢點得出,入地獄如箭射。」
J29nB244_p0704c17示眾。「頭頂天、腳踏地,行住坐臥,任其自然。忽遇天翻J29nB244_p0704c18地覆時,如何安身立命?」
J29nB244_p0704c19示眾。「從來鐘板之設,所以一叢林之耳目,定日用之J29nB244_p0704c20準繩。準繩定,故日用清;耳目一,故叢林法。昭昭乎炳J29nB244_p0704c21若日星,凜凜乎肅於律令,弗可犯而誤也。乃賢智者,J29nB244_p0704c22率而循之不厭其繁,遵而守之不眤為細,日熟一日、J29nB244_p0704c23時精一時,是以節度無乖、鏗鏘有韻。性情之和平以J29nB244_p0704c24寓,志氣之中正聿彰。非曰畏規矩也,實乃敬叢林也;J29nB244_p0704c25非曰防恥辱也,實乃齊日用也。細行不虧,大德以著。J29nB244_p0704c26安知今日嚴護規矩之人,不即異日表揚法化之人J29nB244_p0704c27乎?無何泛泛之徒非怠則玩、非縱則拘。拘之者愈慎J29nB244_p0704c28而愈差,玩之者彌褻而彌錯。差錯則不能不舉,舉白J29nB244_p0704c29則不能不罰,罰行則不能不跪香行禮,跪香行禮則J29nB244_p0704c30不能不普告大眾。普告大眾,匪但以掩耳目也,正所J29nB244_p0705a01以立準繩也;匪但以立準繩也,正所以動懺悔也;匪J29nB244_p0705a02但以動懺悔也,正所以謹戒將來,使不敢一犯而再J29nB244_p0705a03犯、一誤而更誤也。而孰知有不然者,聞舉著則煩惱J29nB244_p0705a04生,煩惱生則懷怨於悅眾;經行罰則無明起,無明起J29nB244_p0705a05則隱恨於座元;告大眾則人我滋,人我滋則比是非、J29nB244_p0705a06較長短。於內外、是非、長短、人我無明交戰,於胸中求J29nB244_p0705a07其做工夫、明大事、參話頭、了生死蓋亦難之難矣!諒J29nB244_p0705a08亦非有意為此也。始則失於偶爾之疏,繼則擾夫清J29nB244_p0705a09淨之念,甚則成其暴棄之因。此無他,省察之未密耳,J29nB244_p0705a10刻勵之未專耳,參求之未篤耳!夫率性而便者,非其J29nB244_p0705a11智者也;任情而往者,非其賢者也;惰慢而恣肆者,非J29nB244_p0705a12所以禔躬也;傲忽而狂逞者,非所以育德也。慎小乃J29nB244_p0705a13可圖大,謹始方能慮終。卑而愈光、謙則受益。世諦之J29nB244_p0705a14矢志成人者亦且戒慎恐懼,而況佛祖道場修行關J29nB244_p0705a15捩,自甘顛倒軌範、軼越威儀,取笑旁觀,輕褻自己,惡J29nB244_p0705a16乎可哉?今日鐘板從旦至暮錯亂參差,直日何人?作J29nB244_p0705a17麼結案?竊恐規矩寢削日益廢弛,體制迭遷不可救J29nB244_p0705a18藥,向後首領執事務要加意整理,犯則必舉,舉則必J29nB244_p0705a19罰,罰則必如例嚴明。設有蹈前所說疚患者亦付莫J29nB244_p0705a20問,渠自誤渠,非爾等誤渠也。咨爾法眾各自反而求J29nB244_p0705a21之,小心慎毖,未必無裨於正事。其敬聽斯言,毋忽!」
J29nB244_p0705a22示眾。舉:「芭蕉清和尚拈拄杖示眾云:『你有拄杖子,我J29nB244_p0705a23與你拄杖子。』」師喝一喝!「『你無拄杖子,我與你奪了拄J29nB244_p0705a24杖子。』」師喝一喝!乃云:「芭蕉道得分明,五雲用得恰當。J29nB244_p0705a25若無芭蕉道底,五雲無由發端;若無五雲用底,芭蕉J29nB244_p0705a26無從結案。芭蕉道的且置,如何是五雲用處?隨拈偈J29nB244_p0705a27云:『虛空擊碎一張口,帶累眉毛拖地走,何似曲肱深J29nB244_p0705a28夜眠?管他知有不知有?』」復喝一喝。
J29nB244_p0705a29師誕期,示眾。「盡大地都被生死二字謾卻,汝等又被J29nB244_p0705a30山僧今日謾卻,何故聻?將謂是山僧母難。」
J29nB244_p0705b01示眾。「活了死不得,情識邊走,殺人無數;死了活不得,J29nB244_p0705b02澄潭裡浸,殺人無數;活中死得來,盡情放下,灰飛煙J29nB244_p0705b03滅;死中活得來,握土成金,拈來便用。若是英靈男子、J29nB244_p0705b04出格丈夫,便與一齊抹過。不然,且莫匆匆草草。」
法語
J29nB244_p0705b06示中知禪人。「行腳衲子須是步步踏實,始不虛費草J29nB244_p0705b07鞋,如徒信腳信耳,聞道東方有個宗師便往東走、西J29nB244_p0705b08方有個宗師便往西行。及至明眼人前,或一言半句J29nB244_p0705b09了無入處,反道佛法無靈、機緣不契。將些有用精神J29nB244_p0705b10盡向崎嶇路中銷鑠腳跟,到底無點地日子。豈知此J29nB244_p0705b11事不從外覓、不向他求?若能當下知歸,狂心頓歇。天J29nB244_p0705b12平云:『當其發足南方時,早知道錯了也。』試看天平所J29nB244_p0705b13云錯,錯在甚麼處?這裡會得,蓬門茅舍鳥語花香;林J29nB244_p0705b14下水邊風清月冷,隨時自在,到處優游,終日勞他腳J29nB244_p0705b15頭有甚交涉?」
J29nB244_p0705b16示隱居禪人行腳。「宇宙忒無情,怪出山與水,奇哉世J29nB244_p0705b17外人,踏翻在腳底。青山青疊疊、綠水綠潺潺,非山亦J29nB244_p0705b18非水,撥眉仔細看。看來無不是,幾個知端的?鼻孔下J29nB244_p0705b19頭垂,無人解出氣。杖頭懸明月、缽底盛清風,直須恁J29nB244_p0705b20麼去,風光處處同。」
J29nB244_p0705b21示無言西堂。「言西堂參隨將近念載,山僧於五雲制J29nB244_p0705b22中授以入山杖子,令續掌師一枝言。掩關白龍,厥志J29nB244_p0705b23可尚。乙巳,山僧受磐山之請,命言再來,茲又二載,輪J29nB244_p0705b24職監院事。山僧念之,不能無說。彼諸佛諸祖、大地眾J29nB244_p0705b25生以及有情無情,總被巴掌先師以無文印子印破J29nB244_p0705b26面門,各各放光動地。而今這個印子既佩爾身,毋得J29nB244_p0705b27輕自提持,東觸西撞、豎擲橫拋,恐其零星破碎,有甚J29nB244_p0705b28用處?直當善自保護,待其法法頭頭不離這印腔子。J29nB244_p0705b29又將這印腔子一槌擊碎,無絲毫線影障人眼睛,那J29nB244_p0705b30時任爾豎擲橫拋、東撞西觸,不論此土他方、人間天J29nB244_p0705c01上、來今往古、諸佛諸祖、大地眾生、有情無情,都與一J29nB244_p0705c02印印定。雖曰無文,而暗中文彩朗耀輝煌,豈不有光J29nB244_p0705c03祖烈?當此法門衰替、眾志移轉之時,爾能硬豎腳跟,J29nB244_p0705c04不辭勞苦擔荷執事,可謂夙願不忘;向後還宜大展J29nB244_p0705c05眉端,把有為諸法一眼覷破,不加半點意思。或林下J29nB244_p0705c06水邊逍遙任運、或街頭市境引接隨機,一一方便行J29nB244_p0705c07來,在在真實做去。不問因緣而因緣自至,不求受用J29nB244_p0705c08而受用自長。到這裡,主張撐持,聽之龍天護法,當必J29nB244_p0705c09有不負自己、不負山僧者。山僧苦心別志多不忍言,J29nB244_p0705c10為書數語以貽厥訓,爾其勗之。」
J29nB244_p0705c11示大衍後堂。「末法時代,參學之流類多務華少實。衍J29nB244_p0705c12子自隨山僧,充侍寮、入記室、職後堂,曾印以偈,蓋十J29nB244_p0705c13二年於茲矣!至是自當園頭執事,山僧喜之。因思古J29nB244_p0705c14來宗匠作家無一不從行門而出。或有大事未明,借J29nB244_p0705c15此磨煉身心,潛修密證者;或有大事既明,於間藏縮J29nB244_p0705c16頭腳,積德培功者。當其矢志作務時,但知不愛筋力、J29nB244_p0705c17不惜皮毛,不敢於稠人廣眾中偷安習懶,坐消檀度J29nB244_p0705c18信施、空食行人血汗,一味真心誠意忍苦任勞,而孰J29nB244_p0705c19知行滿功圓時節一到,受大福報享大因緣,護法龍J29nB244_p0705c20天不肯辜負,感應之理自然而然。爾今於磐石山中J29nB244_p0705c21行此妙行,豈不是從根本著實處做人?此段苦心阿J29nB244_p0705c22誰忍昧?惟是钁頭落處下下莫空,任是佛來祖來一J29nB244_p0705c23鋤兩段。若是無明種子、煩惱根株、是非人我藤蔓,還J29nB244_p0705c24他盡情剷削,勿留些子夾雜荒塞淨田。縱有甚麼釋J29nB244_p0705c25迦鼻孔、達磨眼睛,總與瓦礫石頭一並拋卻,打掃一J29nB244_p0705c26塊潔白白地,將正性真種因時播種、好好栽培,直待J29nB244_p0705c27靈苗滋長、果熟馨香,和盤托出供養人天,大有饒益,J29nB244_p0705c28豈不快哉?古人云:『若人識得心,大地無寸土。』钁鋤柄J29nB244_p0705c29子既在爾手,正恁麼時向甚麼處著?這裡合下一語,J29nB244_p0705c30山僧與你大作證盟未為分外。」
J29nB244_p0706a01示惺書記。「參禪學道先以志氣為主。志氣堅定,一切J29nB244_p0706a02逆境塵緣擾亂腔子不得;志氣向上,一切旁蹊曲徑J29nB244_p0706a03移易腳跟不得。蓋由別具信根、另著眼孔,信得超佛J29nB244_p0706a04越祖定有機關,看得脫死了生非同兒戲。尋訪知識,J29nB244_p0706a05細密參求,雖棄體忘身,執勞運力,總為因緣大事,更J29nB244_p0706a06不轉腦回頭。惺若禪人初於五雲受具,隨堂參請,向J29nB244_p0706a07上志氣立定已堅,抱病數年益深磨煉。山僧如磐,職J29nB244_p0706a08侍者事,歷經二載,純一真誠。茲又簽入記室,縱運墨J29nB244_p0706a09握管之間,不異執巾奉帚之日。參請克勵,儘有苦心,J29nB244_p0706a10山僧鑒而憐之,不吝葛藤一上。大抵此事非遠,只在J29nB244_p0706a11日用尋常處,只在作為動轉處,只在應事接物處。初J29nB244_p0706a12則借境以煉心,繼則心忘而境寂,久久純熟,不用遣J29nB244_p0706a13境而境亦無妨,不用攝心而心亦無礙。臥輪云:『臥輪J29nB244_p0706a14有伎倆,能斷百思想,對境心不起,菩提日日長。』六祖J29nB244_p0706a15云:『惠能無伎倆,不斷百思想,對境心數起,菩提作麼J29nB244_p0706a16長。』誠如臥輪所證,可謂得力修行;誠如六祖所言,纔J29nB244_p0706a17算踏翻關捩。然又必由修行得力,而後能關捩踏翻,J29nB244_p0706a18到得伎倆渾無田地,把生死二字拋向大洋海中,佛J29nB244_p0706a19祖虛聲掃置糞草堆裡。灑灑脫脫、優優游游,做個了J29nB244_p0706a20事丈夫、出頭漢子。聽其因緣時節,隨遇安身自度度J29nB244_p0706a21人,乃各人本分中事,自有不辜負從前志氣者。禪人J29nB244_p0706a22勉之。」
J29nB244_p0706a23示垣侍者。「佛法無多子,久長難得人。若非踏定腳跟、J29nB244_p0706a24立就志向,有順逆不移之節、有死生不易之操,鮮不J29nB244_p0706a25見物而遷、隨流而合。紫垣侍者參隨山僧十有餘載,J29nB244_p0706a26清操潔志凜於冰霜,白意直衷皎如星月,且沉潛厚J29nB244_p0706a27重、伏爪藏牙、謹愨謙和、讓人退己,至於執侍山僧盡J29nB244_p0706a28心盡力,真誠質實始終不渝。每與敝衲蒲團日尋侶J29nB244_p0706a29伴,自爾心眼開豁,不嫌破被蒙頭,非比黑山鬼窟作J29nB244_p0706a30活計者。山僧一日對人天眾前報道:『高峰頂上有一J29nB244_p0706b01隻瞌睡虎。』垣出班一喝,令人膽顫心驚。因思國師三J29nB244_p0706b02喚三應猶謂辜負,而今高峰一語一喝又且如何?想J29nB244_p0706b03是當人多年方丈竊得如許贓私,一朝考較將來,不J29nB244_p0706b04覺信口供出,可謂作賊心虛。山僧姑且放過一著,仍J29nB244_p0706b05令如前踐履、照舊操持,有時睜目揚眉,聲聲震吼,展J29nB244_p0706b06開沒量膽略,露出噬人爪牙。長沙大蟲莫與爭鋒,虎J29nB244_p0706b07丘睡虎無能拒敵,是則長久得人之明驗也。順逆不J29nB244_p0706b08移、死生不易,吾於子有厚望焉!囑囑!」
J29nB244_p0706b09示笑監院。「從來打不破底關頭,莫過『生死』二字;最長J29nB244_p0706b10遠底受用,無如『功行』一途。生死昧則關頭不開,功行J29nB244_p0706b11虧則受用不大。欲破關頭者,須是拌著身命不顧危J29nB244_p0706b12亡,舞劍輪刀,向煩惱國中、無明城裡、人我是非塹上J29nB244_p0706b13直撞橫衝,戰退魔軍、剿除賊子,使四海蕩平、八荒清J29nB244_p0706b14泰,更有甚麼險隘玄關阻人來往?來往無礙則生死J29nB244_p0706b15平常,生死平常則大事明了。夫所謂大事明了者,即J29nB244_p0706b16生而不生、死而不死。不生不死即無去無來,無去無J29nB244_p0706b17來即隨來隨去。無些子粘帶、無絲毫牽纏,任運縱橫,J29nB244_p0706b18隨時瀟灑。至於功行一途又是培植福德邊事,古人J29nB244_p0706b19一日不作、一日不食,大有樣子。雪峰典座、大慧淨頭,J29nB244_p0706b20福報人緣千古稱盛,如斯之類未可枚舉。楊岐監院J29nB244_p0706b21三十載、中峰侍關二十年,這又是銅筋鐵骨長遠不J29nB244_p0706b22變底。大笑禪人頗有資格,十餘年來參隨山僧皆有J29nB244_p0706b23執事。乙巳,山僧受曇華請,以高峰院事付禪人管理。J29nB244_p0706b24毋論巨細,一切經心,兼有土木之功。禪人不憚身先,J29nB244_p0706b25行行就緒,功竣,請山僧轉錫開爐。山僧一日上堂,垂J29nB244_p0706b26下一釣云:『今朝臘月一,寒氣將人逼,雪落滿林花,霜J29nB244_p0706b27凝遍地玉。兩堂雲水僧,個個赤骨歷。親切、轉身、異類J29nB244_p0706b28行,更有末後那一句?』笑出,山僧云:『速道速道!』笑云:『季J29nB244_p0706b29冬嚴寒,切忌口快。』山僧云:『恁麼又爭得?』笑點首。即此J29nB244_p0706b30可見,笑於功行途中亦具破關手段,從茲操履受用J29nB244_p0706c01何窮?乃若煩惱無明、是非人我,只合於輪刀舞劍時J29nB244_p0706c02一齊斬斷。先哲有言:『學道如鑽火,逢煙且莫休,直待J29nB244_p0706c03金星現,歸家始到頭。』到頭一句,俟禪人歸家穩坐自J29nB244_p0706c04有話說。」
J29nB244_p0706c05示霜鏡禪人。「春之風可以感人,夏之雨可以悅人,秋J29nB244_p0706c06之月可以涼人,冬之火可以煖人。入乎四時之中,出J29nB244_p0706c07乎四時之外者,方且無我、無物而無人。夫如是!乃可J29nB244_p0706c08以遊廛市而處山林。」
J29nB244_p0706c09示穎初禪人。「修行無別,為了生死,生死本無,何處修J29nB244_p0706c10行?雖然如是,若不艱苦磨煉,豈知飯是米作、衣是綿J29nB244_p0706c11成?直饒知得飯是米作、衣是綿成,更有轉身一路在。J29nB244_p0706c12如何是轉身一路?啐!忘卻了也。」
J29nB244_p0706c13示這是王居士。「昔有僧問:『念佛底是誰?』山僧云:『念佛J29nB244_p0706c14底是誰?』又有僧問:『念佛底是誰?』山僧云:『念佛底不是J29nB244_p0706c15誰?』檢點將來,大似一口兩舌。會麼?朝三暮四、朝四暮J29nB244_p0706c16三,亦令猴怒、亦令猴懽。參此話者,但恁麼會取。」
J29nB244_p0706c17示瑞侍者。「造物何心,於大地而獨厚丘林?蔥蔥蔚蔚,J29nB244_p0706c18草木繽紛,奇而且幻,霧靄雲騰。處其間者,徜徉自在J29nB244_p0706c19而不逐風塵,一爐香、一幅字、一卷經相與晤對,有時J29nB244_p0706c20出泉石而與人共話乎無生。」
J29nB244_p0706c21示魯書記。「老臊胡,熊耳山前作個甚麼?至今無人分J29nB244_p0706c22疏得下。五雲山中忽爾有人著眼,道渠是個瞌睡漢。J29nB244_p0706c23有甚交涉?莫言知恩少,負恩解報恩。」
J29nB244_p0706c24示玉侍者。「出家修行為著何事?自度度人,曰志曰氣。J29nB244_p0706c25自度為先、度人為次,然必度人,乃自度事。自度云何?J29nB244_p0706c26毋自暴棄,矢志參尋,惟孜惟亟。或詢師長、或諮同類,J29nB244_p0706c27觸此通彼,鬼神莫覷。擊碎泥團,平沉大地,面目本來,J29nB244_p0706c28只這便是!勿效時流,隨群逐隊,入傀儡場,以作兒戲。J29nB244_p0706c29潛牙伏爪,俟因緣至,挺特為人,龍天懽喜。此時此日,J29nB244_p0706c30但依山之隈、水之際,伴煙霞而棲止。」
J29nB244_p0707a01示松埜禪人。「天之高也未為高,地之厚也未為厚,萬J29nB244_p0707a02物芸芸未為棼,惟有此心難如舊。睹形不見眼如眉,J29nB244_p0707a03聞聲不知耳若手。夫如是!用以返乎渾渾冥冥而無J29nB244_p0707a04暫無久。」
J29nB244_p0707a05示空世沙彌禮觀音文。「和南稽首,觀音大士,聞聲救J29nB244_p0707a06苦,無量慈悲。我今弟子,法名空世,幼小出家,相依知J29nB244_p0707a07識。恐我宿世,罪業深重;恐我壽命,不能長久。於法無J29nB244_p0707a08聞、於道難悟,茫茫此生,光陰短促。我今志誠,皈禮大J29nB244_p0707a09士,願賜慈悲,哀憐救濟。父母生我,不能壽我;師長教J29nB244_p0707a10我,不能壽我。君王臨我,不能壽我;檀信護我,不能壽J29nB244_p0707a11我。惟大士恩,深於父母;惟大士恩,逾於師長。惟大士J29nB244_p0707a12恩,重於君王;惟大士恩,隆於檀信。令我長壽,得聞於J29nB244_p0707a13道,報父母恩;令我長壽,得聞於道,報師長恩;令我長J29nB244_p0707a14壽,得聞於道,報君王恩;令我長壽,得聞於道,報檀信J29nB244_p0707a15恩。我此哀聲,入大士耳,以聞聞聲,聞聲救我;我此哀J29nB244_p0707a16心,入大士心,以不聞聞,不聞救我。我若日用,三業未J29nB244_p0707a17淨,仗大士力,蠲除一切;我若累劫,造諸重罪,仗大士J29nB244_p0707a18力,願悉消滅。大哉觀音!真我慈父,靈感圓通,俾我得J29nB244_p0707a19度。既度我矣!普度世間,讚者禮者,俱獲延年。我今拜J29nB244_p0707a20禮,觀音聖號,如月當天,無水不照。」
J29nB244_p0707a21示性覺嚴居士禮接引。「心是佛心、行是佛行,憑爾心J29nB244_p0707a22行,作佛有餘。爾名性覺,性覺亦非,爾覺若忘,爾性復J29nB244_p0707a23矣!稽首慈尊,尊鑑不遠,接引往生,豈棄於爾?爾生無J29nB244_p0707a24慚、爾死無愧,無愧無慚,復誰生死?既無生死,爾直任J29nB244_p0707a25之,任爾真實,以覲導師。」
J29nB244_p0707a26示性初悟本吳道人。「四大本空、五蘊非有,惟爾性初,J29nB244_p0707a27不著色相。何名為性?性本空故。何名為初?無空性故。J29nB244_p0707a28無終無始,名為復初;原始要終,名為見性。此心常潔、J29nB244_p0707a29此性常貞,貞潔之質,永離死生。生死亦忘,可以久長,J29nB244_p0707a30久長不著,水流花香。了相非相、悟空不空,脫此幻體,J29nB244_p0707b01證彼金容。」
J29nB244_p0707b02示性健何乾行居士。「作善餘慶、為善降祥,惠迪則吉,J29nB244_p0707b03錫福悠長。聖賢之語無不實者,況復矢志修行、留心J29nB244_p0707b04學道,除煩惱、絕是非,有不可以配天獲吉者哉?乾行J29nB244_p0707b05居士自經離亂,歷涉風波,可謂艱苦倍常。一日歸我J29nB244_p0707b06無言弟子,兢兢寡過,遠害為慮,來請山僧垂示。山僧J29nB244_p0707b07示以偈曰:『謹始慮終、勤終若始,恁麼恁麼,獲福無比。』J29nB244_p0707b08至於悟明本分一著,須是踏翻關捩去,又不在此格J29nB244_p0707b09則中說話。」
