天主教乃西域梵自在天外道也震旦往無其種J28nB219_p0743a06我明萬曆間有琍馬竇自西洋航海而來至京師J28nB219_p0743a07宗厚遇之後茲陸續而至者有數十人多在閩J28nB219_p0743a08南北兩京諸地所從者皆斯文學者其類精于天J28nB219_p0743a09能博金銀等物所以能動人心專排佛其從化者J28nB219_p0743a10家有佛像菩薩像皆令投諸江海中或躡佛言為難J28nB219_p0743a11如云:「《梵網有言:『一切有生皆宿生父母殺而食之即J28nB219_p0743a12殺吾父母。』如是則人亦不得行婚是妻妾吾父母云J28nB219_p0743a13。」士僧無能答雲栖大師嘗為折之其辭藻雅深細J28nB219_p0743a14非上智未易曉衡因廣其說言雖不文意雖淺識者J28nB219_p0743a15易解不為舛說所惑全生生一念遠離顛倒夢識J28nB219_p0743a16自性之仁慈續諸佛之慧命仍以雲栖大師說首置J28nB219_p0743a17使知茲辯源流深淺如此而已

又問:「彼云梵網:『一切有生皆宿生父母殺而食之J28nB219_p0743a20即殺吾父母。』如是則人亦不得行婚是妻妾吾父母J28nB219_p0743a21人亦不得置婢僕是役使吾父母也人亦不得乘J28nB219_p0743a22騾馬是陵跨吾父母也士人僧人不能答如之何?」

J28nB219_p0743a23:「《梵網止是深戒殺生故發此論意謂恒沙劫來生J28nB219_p0743a24生受生生生必有父母安知彼非宿世父母乎蓋恐J28nB219_p0743a25其或父母非決其必父母也若以辭害意舉一J28nB219_p0743a26例百則儒亦有之禮禁同姓為婚故買妾不知其姓J28nB219_p0743a27則卜之彼將曰:『卜而非同姓也則婚之固無害。』此亦J28nB219_p0743a28:『娶妻不知其為父母為非父母則卜之卜而非J28nB219_p0743a29父母也則娶之亦無害矣!』《:『倍年以長則父事之。』J28nB219_p0743a30今年少居官者何限其舁轎引車張蓋執戟必兒童J28nB219_p0743b01而後可有長者在焉是以父母為隸卒也如其通行J28nB219_p0743b02而不礙佛言獨不可通行乎夫男女之嫁娶以至車J28nB219_p0743b03馬童僕皆人世之常法非殺生之慘毒比也J28nB219_p0743b04云一切有命者不得殺未嘗云一切有命者不得嫁J28nB219_p0743b05不得使令也如斯設難是謂騁小巧之迂譚而倍J28nB219_p0743b06大道之明訓也胡可得也復次彼書杜撰不根之語J28nB219_p0743b07未易悉舉如謂:『人死其魂常在無輪迴者。』既魂常在J28nB219_p0743b08禹湯文武何不一誡訓於桀紂幽厲乎先秦兩漢唐J28nB219_p0743b09宋諸君何不一致罰於斯高莽操李楊秦蔡之流乎J28nB219_p0743b10既無輪迴叔子何能說前生為某家子明道何能憶J28nB219_p0743b11宿世之藏母釵乎羊哀化虎鄧艾為牛如斯之類J28nB219_p0743b12班載於儒書不一而足彼皆未知何怪其言之舛也?」

予頃為天說有客復從而難曰:「卜娶婦而非J28nB219_p0743b15母也既可娶獨不曰:『卜殺生而非己父母也亦可殺J28nB219_p0743b16?』不娶而生人之類絕獨不曰:『去殺而祭祀之禮廢J28nB219_p0743b17?』」被難者默然以告予

予曰:「古人有言:『卜以決疑。』J28nB219_p0743b18疑何卜同姓不婚天下古今之大經大法也故疑而J28nB219_p0743b19卜之殺生天下古今之大過大惡也斷不可為何疑J28nB219_p0743b20而待卜也不娶而人類絕理而然矣不殺生而祀典J28nB219_p0743b21獨不聞二簋可用享殺牛之不如禴祭乎則祀典J28nB219_p0743b22固安然不廢也即廢焉是廢所當廢除肉刑禁徇葬J28nB219_p0743b23之類也美政也嗟乎卜之云者姑借目前事以權為J28nB219_p0743b24比例蓋因明通蔽云爾子便作實法會真可謂杯酒J28nB219_p0743b25助歡笑之迂譚排場供戲謔之諢語也然使愚夫愚J28nB219_p0743b26婦入乎耳而存乎心害非細也言不可不慎也。」客又J28nB219_p0743b27:「殺生止斷色身行婬直斷慧命。」意謂殺生猶輕J28nB219_p0743b28知所殺者彼之色身而行殺者一念慘毒之心自己J28nB219_p0743b29之慧命斷矣可不悲夫

試為論之世間者輪迴也輪迴者J28nB219_p0743c07下返復也若子孫妻妾奴僕騾馬中無多生父母J28nB219_p0743c08世間不名輪迴既世間有輪迴而子孫妻妾奴僕J28nB219_p0743c09馬中實有多生父母以肉眼不見隔生不識姑不罪J28nB219_p0743c10獨殺一事大慘殺之業大重故佛特為伸明使知J28nB219_p0743c11生靈中或有父母豈忍殺父母而食之乎此吾佛至J28nB219_p0743c12極悲誨最後明訓愍四生之慘毒救三塗之業苦J28nB219_p0743c13將肉眼不明之事以難佛眼真明之理哉是以蠅火J28nB219_p0743c14爭明于杲日特不自量也

又世間顛倒輪迴而妻妾奴僕中或有多生父母眷J28nB219_p0743c16屬而不識者皆長夜中人夢未醒耳唯佛洞然故稱J28nB219_p0743c17覺者謂覺世間顛倒故也有云:「三界不生釋迦萬古J28nB219_p0743c18如長夜是也佛既已覺又覺諸有情勸人辭親割愛J28nB219_p0743c19出塵離俗不殺生不妻妾不奴僕不騾馬遠離顛倒J28nB219_p0743c20夢想究竟真常而後已豈妻妾奴僕決然不可廢乎J28nB219_p0743c21若謂不妻妾絕生人之大本不奴僕絕役使之名分J28nB219_p0743c22是不知不妻妾不奴僕不騾馬即聖世人皆聖賢J28nB219_p0743c23能化生何假妻妾自能所欲隨至何用奴僕自能乘J28nB219_p0743c24空往來何用騾馬豈必定要妻妾而後生奴僕而後J28nB219_p0743c25役哉果是聖賢處世示有妻妾示有奴僕示有騾馬J28nB219_p0743c26皆變化所出定無多生父母屬眷相親相冤而為顛J28nB219_p0743c27倒也今以世間經常難出世間之大道實明暗相背J28nB219_p0743c28

又佛名空王無有實法可說特以名字引導眾生歸J28nB219_p0743c30乎自性至如真理名曰真心名曰法身於真理中豈J28nB219_p0744a01有身心之名哉蓋眾生所重者身心故就其所重而J28nB219_p0744a02名之曰幻身非身更有法身妄心非心更有真心使J28nB219_p0744a03人信是自己本體孰肯不盡心焉是佛以身心之名J28nB219_p0744a04引人至於性地佛愍世之迷倒殺貪猛熾無可遏禁J28nB219_p0744a05以眾生所重者父母故言多生父母有在六道中者J28nB219_p0744a06而殺而食即殺父母是以父母之名止人之殺心J28nB219_p0744a07眾生之冤苦佛以假名杜人殺機導人至於仁慈之J28nB219_p0744a08是佛善巧方便無上妙誨豈得以世智辨聰而可J28nB219_p0744a09議哉

又以理論之天地萬物同一真性則萬物之身豈非J28nB219_p0744a11諸佛聖賢法性耶萬物既是諸佛法性又非父母妻J28nB219_p0744a12妾奴僕法性耶法性既一萬物名諸佛亦可也名父J28nB219_p0744a13妻妾奴僕亦可也殺萬物說殺諸佛亦可也說殺J28nB219_p0744a14父母妻妾亦可也欺陵妻妾奴僕說欺陵諸佛父母J28nB219_p0744a15亦可也而妻妾奴僕騾馬獨不可敬重乎

或謂妻妾J28nB219_p0744a16既可名父母而復妻妾者是喪倫也豈有人而妻妾J28nB219_p0744a17尊長者耶

妻妾可名聖賢父母性一也倫者跡也J28nB219_p0744a18現今父母妻妾各有其形豈得混跡而喪倫耶以跡J28nB219_p0744a19觀則殊尊卑以性觀則等親愛視父母兄弟如路人J28nB219_p0744a20則不可視妻妾奴僕騾馬如父母未嘗不可也視萬J28nB219_p0744a21物如父母亦未嘗不可也萬物既可視如父母可忍J28nB219_p0744a22殺而食之耶如是難者是以跡駁性以事障理而有J28nB219_p0744a23限之恩焉能駁無礙之辯耶又六道中必有父母者J28nB219_p0744a24以眾生自有識神以來生死輪轉恒河沙之恒河沙J28nB219_p0744a25不足較劫數之多遍觀大地無芥子許不是眾生捨J28nB219_p0744a26身受身處備經六道生生皆有父母其劫數恒沙不J28nB219_p0744a27足為較曾為父母眷屬者恒沙亦不足較也大地既J28nB219_p0744a28無芥子許不是眾生受身處則六道中亦尟有不是J28nB219_p0744a29親緣眷屬者總之親而復冤冤而復親近而復遠J28nB219_p0744a30而復近上而復下下而復上改頭換面從冥入冥J28nB219_p0744b01不相知悲夫輪迴顛倒甚至於斯然人之父母妻妾J28nB219_p0744b02子孫奴僕騾馬及所殺眾生亦非無因而相遇必是J28nB219_p0744b03多劫多生親緣眷屬或冤或親因緣相感聚於一時J28nB219_p0744b04寒山有言:「我笑他家顛倒顛媳婦騎驢阿翁牽。」J28nB219_p0744b05爺馬擂自皮鍋裏煮著肥羊肉羊肉都是沾親帶故J28nB219_p0744b06人知此可忍以眾生肉舉下咽耶

又妻妾奴僕騾馬中或有多生親緣眷屬而不為罪J28nB219_p0744b08何耶

非全無罪但就世間肉眼不明不知而無J28nB219_p0744b09犯倫之罪其實是生死重業故佛教人出生死一切J28nB219_p0744b10悉離也如人有犯上者或殺或婬或天加之雷霆J28nB219_p0744b11王加之刑法必至大辟人有夢中犯上亦有淫殺盜J28nB219_p0744b12妄者在佛法則不容在世法則付之不知無可證明J28nB219_p0744b13則不加罪而天地鬼神或知之以夢事沈迷亦不見J28nB219_p0744b14夢迷既可減過而多生親緣或有在妻妾奴僕中J28nB219_p0744b15以隔生不識過亦可減但出世聖人厭其顛倒耳

J28nB219_p0744b16夢迷犯上可減過隔生不識有長上誤為妻妾奴J28nB219_p0744b17僕者亦可減過獨不曰隔生不識誤殺親緣亦可減J28nB219_p0744b18過耶

此言迷謬不足論也妻妾奴僕是攝受因J28nB219_p0744b19生是慘毒因以慘毒加蚤虱尚有罪況加之雞犬J28nB219_p0744b20之牛羊加之騾馬加之多生父母而可無罪耶佛言J28nB219_p0744b21六道中有父母者意在生人親愛救眾生之慘毒J28nB219_p0744b22以隔生論倫理也

古杭雲栖大師乘願力來為淨土法門中興教主J28nB219_p0744b25遠法師之弘範紹壽禪師之芳猷誠彌陀示現慈氏J28nB219_p0744b26分身也著述甚多盛行於世戒殺放生等文而慈J28nB219_p0744b27覆萬靈得全生活往生安養者非算數可知有七事J28nB219_p0744b28不宜殺生之戒最為明訓能啟千古不覺之習弊J28nB219_p0744b29智識讀之無不涕淚太息也吉州安城石者朱居士J28nB219_p0744b30慧性猛利信從多劫多佛深種善根而來聞道即有J28nB219_p0744c01深契從病僧受諸佛淨戒遵雲栖戒殺放生之儀J28nB219_p0744c02普門慈悲護念之旨舉家持年三長齋嚴於戒殺J28nB219_p0744c03雲栖七事中抽生日一事自本家不論尊卑長幼J28nB219_p0744c04誕之日不許殺生將平素誕日殺生宴會之費買各J28nB219_p0744c05般生命放之再來庵放生所隨彼天年長短自去自J28nB219_p0744c06以免湯火刀砧之苦資之食寢法力之樂即合家J28nB219_p0744c07護念清淨可謂變火宅為蓮花淨域轉眷屬為菩薩J28nB219_p0744c08伴侶欲同之親里結放生社廣此一行以及諸方J28nB219_p0744c09於天下皆知天地同胞萬物一體以躋天下同仁也J28nB219_p0744c10然石者公此一念雖不敢妄擬是佛是菩薩是聖賢J28nB219_p0744c11但世間俗之念不能收之石者公恐此一行不能J28nB219_p0744c12恒普欲病僧一言以鑑於後蓋放生戒殺一事乃聖J28nB219_p0744c13賢之本心從古至今碑傳記甚廣豈容再說但條J28nB219_p0744c14理放生所得宜不至虛名廢壞為善可為遠大之念J28nB219_p0744c15要擇一寬廣地建庵作放生社後靠山要高遠圍J28nB219_p0744c16築為放生所前離庵百步外開一大放生池高築垣J28nB219_p0744c17近池建接引佛殿三間安僧十二眾修淨業晝夜J28nB219_p0744c18六時以佛聲熏悟所放生物凡放生主人隨家豐儉J28nB219_p0744c19素常生日所費廣者不可苟減素常生日所費少者J28nB219_p0744c20不可強增但依常隨宜為善凡所放生物大至牛羊J28nB219_p0744c21豬犬小至鵝鴨魚鱉田雞鳥鵲等物陸生安之以陸J28nB219_p0744c22水生安之以水以各生其生各樂其樂野生放山林J28nB219_p0744c23家畜養之以欄棧亦須嚴防密護勿使盜賊狐狸侵J28nB219_p0744c24若放之而不守護亦徒有放生之名而無放生之J28nB219_p0744c25每凡作會之日請僧六眾禮懺一日以資所放生J28nB219_p0744c26物神識消彼往業此日多買生命依雲栖放生儀J28nB219_p0744c27法放之其能放之人箇箇是聖賢用心所放之命物J28nB219_p0744c28物具聖賢妙性形相雖殊同一生活念慮各別共一J28nB219_p0744c29真源人為萬物名相標揚萬物為人耳目玩悅有人J28nB219_p0744c30無物人則頑然有物無人物則寂爾人物對待文彩J28nB219_p0745a01昭然是則人物互相發用彼此互宜安生互相供樂J28nB219_p0745a02互相明心豈不是莊嚴淨土豈不是聖賢同臨豈不J28nB219_p0745a03是天地同胞萬物一體豈不是天下同仁耶聊計此

丙子夏月避暄蘇溪桂柏園中有諸上善人結放生J28nB219_p0745a06持此冊求一語以為盟證病僧喜曰:「諸善男子J28nB219_p0745a07生之道大道也古今聖賢世出世法唯一生字而已J28nB219_p0745a08離生之外無道可言蓋天地萬物同一生理凡血氣J28nB219_p0745a09之屬莫不有知但有知者均謂之佛性所以謂:『上至J28nB219_p0745a10諸佛下至螻蟻佛性皆然是也一切山川林藪之屬J28nB219_p0745a11皆無智識均謂之法性佛性法性有情無情差別不J28nB219_p0745a12同一生理所以古聖先賢觀得生理既同則護惜J28nB219_p0745a13萬物與護惜身等無有異。《:『非時殺一獸非孝J28nB219_p0745a14非時斷一木非孝也。』非孝不順生理故也原其草J28nB219_p0745a15木禽獸與人相與為用互為資生同為保愛豈可妄J28nB219_p0745a16為傷殺乎是大違生理大非孝道明矣又則人非萬J28nB219_p0745a17物則智不生謂智非境不生也萬物非人則名相不J28nB219_p0745a18謂境非智不了也是人與物相生境與智相待J28nB219_p0745a19能發智慧立名言乃出生諸佛菩提也若殺一有情J28nB219_p0745a20身即滅菩提因以身能運載菩提故若壞一無識物J28nB219_p0745a21即損菩提緣以法能軌生物解故是則若人妄殺有J28nB219_p0745a22情之身妄壞有生之物即殺佛慧命斷滅佛種豈不J28nB219_p0745a23是大惡大罪耶但世沈迷習以為常不覺其為大惡J28nB219_p0745a24大罪隨流忘返輪迴不絕如能覺其非此覺即是佛J28nB219_p0745a25既得佛心即入佛數矣今諸上善人同為放生J28nB219_p0745a26唯得世間聖賢之心即諸佛之心也蓋世間聖賢以J28nB219_p0745a27生生為主雖是護惜萬物必有能護之生所護之命J28nB219_p0745a28世外諸佛菩薩先安於無生無有我人等相而護生J28nB219_p0745a29之念乃能普能常世之聖賢以生理既同各使其安J28nB219_p0745a30生養生有陷不生之地則救之解之釋之故有救生J28nB219_p0745b01放生之名佛菩薩以同體大悲無緣大慈不唯救眾J28nB219_p0745b02生世間苦難而能與一切眾生出世間之大樂故有J28nB219_p0745b03利生度生之願若但救之安之世間壽數能有幾何J28nB219_p0745b04故佛利益度脫使其超越世間之外究竟常住始是J28nB219_p0745b05大全生理大安性命永不生不滅是謂真長生真壽J28nB219_p0745b06命也諸善男子既得世出世間聖賢之心非聖賢何J28nB219_p0745b07疑哉須要保持覆護此心此行常遠不退即從今已J28nB219_p0745b08為諸佛菩薩攝授欲此心此行常住先擇空閒地J28nB219_p0745b09建立三寶形像為大伽藍每結會期都要入伽藍內J28nB219_p0745b10使心有歸向伽藍前大開放生池凡水生者放之于J28nB219_p0745b11伽藍之後或左右圍放生所凡陸生者放之于陸J28nB219_p0745b12使各安其生各樂其命再加之佛法咒力薰習自然J28nB219_p0745b13各得超生其在會諸上善人姓名同勒石於伽藍內J28nB219_p0745b14教其各人子子孫孫相承入會如子子孫孫繼此放J28nB219_p0745b15生一會永世不斷即眾善人法身常住眾善人光明J28nB219_p0745b16常照亦可謂清白傳家亦可謂賢善繼世豈不轉凡J28nB219_p0745b17品成聖品轉塵土成樂土哉有識宜勉之。」

圭峰禪師云:「今知心是佛心定當作佛。」諸上善人今J28nB219_p0745b20既知人人具有佛性個個本是彌陀從今已去再不J28nB219_p0745b21可作眾生顛倒之事口常念佛身常禮佛心常想佛J28nB219_p0745b22想佛者想佛清淨法身即是我之本性無生無滅不J28nB219_p0745b23墮諸數常要超越聖凡名相想佛智身無障無礙J28nB219_p0745b24悲喜捨常行慈悲方便與佛無二想佛色身相好光J28nB219_p0745b25明解脫自在常要厭離五欲莫生貪著心既是佛又J28nB219_p0745b26行佛事不名為佛又名何等豈非頓登佛地此即是J28nB219_p0745b27成佛要門也如是行去不待往生而佛身具足再入J28nB219_p0745b28蓮質更見增修直至圓滿菩提永無退屈如無決定J28nB219_p0745b29信心別求玄妙知見向上機緣恐不免誤入枝岐J28nB219_p0745b30慎之慎之如決定信心念佛行住坐臥之中不可間J28nB219_p0745c01此是各人自己密綿工夫亦要興揚三寶開導萬J28nB219_p0745c02相邀同志或十人或三五十人擇幽僻伽藍之地J28nB219_p0745c03結會定期同聲念佛使若見若聞同登蓮品在僧在J28nB219_p0745c04俗共躋佛乘此自利利他成佛之妙行也今將念佛J28nB219_p0745c05規範條分于后

青原祖庭肇自唐代思禪師為鼻祖有肉身塔現存J28nB219_p0747b19手植荊猶生此地之靈可知矣自唐至今千有餘載J28nB219_p0747b20至 國朝神廟初年狼籍殆盡適有本郡縉紳諸大J28nB219_p0747b21檀越乘宿願而來力為興復時大魁劉翁密為袖籌J28nB219_p0747b22之首也二十年來佛堂僧舍壯麗可觀亦賴本寂禪J28nB219_p0747b23師善於布置之力諸大檀越念道場已復舊時面目J28nB219_p0747b24而祖燈續燄傳輝少見其人欲請諸方大善知識主J28nB219_p0747b25盟此事雖萌此念而未遂其事寂禪師早示寂矣J28nB219_p0747b26時難得其人乃劉孝翁同大檀越召病僧說戒羯磨J28nB219_p0747b27以為將來得人之張本用意其善也歟蓋戒之一字J28nB219_p0747b28統盡十方三世諸佛法藏即我 釋迦如來說法四J28nB219_p0747b29十九年談經三百餘會末後拈花原始要終唯一金J28nB219_p0747b30剛光明寶戒而已。《:「唯此一事實餘二則非真J28nB219_p0747c01此戒精持佛見法見尚不可立況有生死去來迷J28nB219_p0747c02悟之妄想耶但生一念求玄求妙求悟求超越即屬J28nB219_p0747c03染汙即名破戒但穿衣喫飯日用平常不觸不背J28nB219_p0747c04如如佛也南泉云:「王老師有一頭水牯牛擬向溪東J28nB219_p0747c05不免犯他官家苗稼擬向溪西不免犯他官家苗稼J28nB219_p0747c06不如隨分納些些。」趙州云:「有佛處急走過無佛處不J28nB219_p0747c07可住。」此二老是善持戒者可為師之茲者本月八日J28nB219_p0747c08乃我 釋迦本師示生之日諸方衲子受戒之期J28nB219_p0747c09諸大檀越開此清淨戒壇成就自他本有大事有欲J28nB219_p0747c10入壇受戒者各發向上心先禮辭父母告白師長J28nB219_p0747c11壇之後師長父母王官大命俱不得出保持此戒J28nB219_p0747c12惜身命一稟戒體頓登佛地一日無犯即一日佛受J28nB219_p0747c13一年不犯即一年佛住世如盡未來際不犯即究J28nB219_p0747c14竟無上正覺也所有條成開后
