J27nB193_p0261a04小參。「學道如鑽火,逢煙未可休,直待金星現,歸家始J27nB193_p0261a05到頭。古人與麼道,鈍置殺人。黃檗門下貴在一火鑄J27nB193_p0261a06就、一槌便當。有麼?有麼?出來與汝證明。」一僧拂袖而J27nB193_p0261a07出,師云:「又恁麼去也。」乃云:「大道秪在目前,要且目前J27nB193_p0261a08難睹。」卓拄杖云:「磕著者個端倪,驀然𨁝跳如虎。三界J27nB193_p0261a09生靈,隻手提攜,十方剎海,一口吞吐。徹骨貧窮,普天J27nB193_p0261a10豪富,抖搜無有半分文,隨手使錢如糞土。等閑撥轉J27nB193_p0261a11上頭關,發機直用千鈞弩。」擲下拄杖云:「會則慶快平J27nB193_p0261a12生,不會切忌鹵莽。」一僧指拄杖,師云:「逐塊不少。」
J27nB193_p0261a13因事小參。「國清才子貴,家富小兒驕,善惡無源,惟人J27nB193_p0261a14自招。跛鱉藻文彰水面,獰龍戲浪潑天潮。一刀截斷J27nB193_p0261a15千江口,萬派聲歸海上消。如何是萬派聲歸海上消?J27nB193_p0261a16道得,許汝東湧西湧。脫或未然,不得動著。動著打折J27nB193_p0261a17汝驢腰。」有僧便喝,師拈棒,直打退,歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0261a18小參。云:「盡十方世界是個猛火,喚作火燒殺汝們,不J27nB193_p0261a19喚作火冷殺汝們。汝們作麼生定奪?若定奪得去,金J27nB193_p0261a20烹大冶、雪點紅爐,三十年後不得辜負吾。定奪不得,J27nB193_p0261a21剔起眉毛著個精彩,九十日中間動轉施為,三世諸J27nB193_p0261a22佛歷代祖師在汝諸人腳跟下經過,莫怪空疏。」驀豎J27nB193_p0261a23拂子云:「為甚麼又在山僧手裏?還會麼?赤體條條無J27nB193_p0261a24蓋覆,拈來放去更繇誰。」喝一喝,便轉身。
J27nB193_p0261a25小參。舉:「臨濟云:『一人論劫在途中,不離家舍。一人離J27nB193_p0261a26家舍,不在途中。那個合受人天供養?』」師云:「今日狹路J27nB193_p0261a27相逢,總被黃檗拄杖子吞卻了也。正當與麼時,山僧J27nB193_p0261a28性命在汝諸人手裏,賴汝不知。汝等諸人性命在山J27nB193_p0261a29僧手裏。」拈拄杖打散,復召大眾。眾回首,師云:「是甚麼?」J27nB193_p0261a30便轉身。
J27nB193_p0261b01小參。問:「凡有言句,皆無實義,乞師指示。」師豎拄杖,僧J27nB193_p0261b02無語,師云:「鈍漢!」乃云:「現成公案,突出難辨。會與不會,J27nB193_p0261b03不隔條線。向上提持,轟雷掣電。擬涉思惟,刻舟求劍。」J27nB193_p0261b04顧左右,便轉身。
J27nB193_p0261b05除夜小參。「北禪烹白牛分歲,手忙腳亂;黃檗閣拄杖J27nB193_p0261b06過年,藏頭露尾。久參上士聞與麼道,掉臂而去;後學J27nB193_p0261b07初機,未免躊躇。還有入此保社者,出來道道看。」眾無J27nB193_p0261b08語。復云:「祖師西來,教外別傳,不立文字,直指人心,見J27nB193_p0261b09性成佛。曹溪云:『說個直指,早迂曲了也。』且說個直指J27nB193_p0261b10早已迂曲,何況語言文字機境解會者哉?仔細看來,J27nB193_p0261b11到這裏總用不著。所以山僧單單拈一條楖栗,但有J27nB193_p0261b12來者便與一錐,直令七穿八穴,徹骨徹髓,抱恨終身,J27nB193_p0261b13知恩有日。今夜看來,這一條棒不得動著,動著即禍J27nB193_p0261b14生。」
J27nB193_p0261b15縣主凌公請小參。師舉:「臨濟大師云:『有時一喝如金J27nB193_p0261b16剛王寶劍,有時一喝如踞地獅子,有時一喝如探竿J27nB193_p0261b17影草,有時一喝不作一喝用。』」喝一喝,云:「是金剛王寶J27nB193_p0261b18劍?是踞地獅子?是探竿影草?是一喝不作一喝用?大J27nB193_p0261b19眾!試判斷看。若判斷得,山僧拄杖子當堂分付;擬議J27nB193_p0261b20尋思,劍去久矣,那更形于問荅、涉于語言,彼此置鈍,J27nB193_p0261b21無有了期。所以山僧尋常向諸人眉睫上輪刀走馬,J27nB193_p0261b22汝等諸人須向山僧腳跟下斬釘截鐵,兩不相傷,各J27nB193_p0261b23無防礙。得到與麼田地,正好孤峰頂上罵月呵風,十J27nB193_p0261b24字街頭拖泥帶水,或順或逆、或抑或揚,激發個事,接J27nB193_p0261b25引後昆,堪報不報之恩,共助無為之化。且今日山僧J27nB193_p0261b26與凌公覿面相呈,各出手眼一句作麼生道?玉融風J27nB193_p0261b27雅千年紹,黃檗山輝一點奇。」復喝云:「漏逗不少。」
J27nB193_p0261b28下壩築成小參。「此數時有煩諸上人搬泥拽石,神通J27nB193_p0261b29妙用不同小小。這邊著實,那邊穩當,兼乃中孚,無有J27nB193_p0261b30一毫滲漏,自然水到渠成。廣收森羅萬象,直截狂派J27nB193_p0261c01橫流,不但灌溉生民,亦乃度驢度馬。今日功完果滿,J27nB193_p0261c02大家一齊放下。末後一著賴有石將軍,無能窺縫罅。」
J27nB193_p0261c03師誕日小參。云:「生生死死死生生,六道循環夢未醒。J27nB193_p0261c04今日根塵俱歷落,剛剛日午打三更。諸上座!若會得J27nB193_p0261c05日午打三更意旨,便知山僧本命元辰落處,亦知釋J27nB193_p0261c06迦老子本命元辰落處,亦知古今天下老和尚本命J27nB193_p0261c07元辰落處,亦知現前諸上座本命元辰落處,所謂無J27nB193_p0261c08二無二分,無別無斷故。如是山僧慶讚諸上座亦得,J27nB193_p0261c09諸上座慶讚山僧亦得,互為主賓,遞相舉揚,為天人J27nB193_p0261c10之標榜,作將來之眼目,豈不盡善盡美者哉?且今互J27nB193_p0261c11相慶讚一句作麼生道?金粟花開黃檗果,不馨香處J27nB193_p0261c12也馨香。」歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0261c13師為徹志禪人小參。云:「徹志禪人,去歲參見禮拜起,J27nB193_p0261c14山僧攔胸把住云:『道!道!』志擬對,山僧便推出。下午呈J27nB193_p0261c15偈,山僧接住,復伸手云:『還有麼?』志擬對,山僧直打出。J27nB193_p0261c16次日復呈趙州勘二庵主頌,數次徵詰,至末後一頌,J27nB193_p0261c17頗愜山僧意。復徵云:『今頌得二庵主,又未明那一個?』J27nB193_p0261c18志豎拳,山僧云:『又在者裏著腳。』志云:『看破和尚了也。』J27nB193_p0261c19山僧云:『看破個甚麼?』志云:『看破和尚能殺能活,能縱J27nB193_p0261c20能奪。』山僧云:『莫謗山僧好。』便推出。今冬復來親覲,未J27nB193_p0261c21幾染病沉重,山僧亦病,未曾勘問。早間將終,請首座J27nB193_p0261c22亙公至單前請問,見他荅話有著落處。所以臨末稍J27nB193_p0261c23頭有一毫受用,預知時至,果到午時坐化。若是業識J27nB193_p0261c24茫茫者,到此時節,七手八腳,搥胸扼腕不徹,何暇及J27nB193_p0261c25此?山僧不敢昧他見處,特特對眾舉揚。諸兄弟!且道J27nB193_p0261c26徹志禪人遷化後,畢竟向甚麼處去?木人對月明如J27nB193_p0261c27鏡,鐵馬嘶風吼似雷。」歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0261c28除夜小參。問:「臘月三十日到來,如何迴避?」師云:「秪得J27nB193_p0261c29腳忙手亂。」乃云:「斫盡青山沒可把,飄飄脫灑明窗下。J27nB193_p0261c30年窮歲盡不知春,笑殺東村王大姐。此四句中有一J27nB193_p0262a01句子坐斷乾坤,有一句子賣弄風月,有一句子今古J27nB193_p0262a02條鐵,有一句子祖佛莫窺。若人一一明得,敢保萬福J27nB193_p0262a03堂前暗合孫吳。於此不明,未免葛藤窠裏之乎也者。J27nB193_p0262a04諸禪德看看,逗到臘月三十夜來,山僧到這裏秪德J27nB193_p0262a05手忙腳亂。汝等諸人又且如何?」僧云:「爆竹聲聲除舊J27nB193_p0262a06歲,明朝盡是太平春。」師云:「丹鳳撩空去,烏龜摸壁行。」J27nB193_p0262a07遂顧大眾云:「再道看。」眾擬對,師直打散歸室。
J27nB193_p0262a08小參。僧問:「如何是學人入頭處?」師打一拂子。進云:「如J27nB193_p0262a09何是出頭處?」師擲拂子。進云:「恁麼則日應萬機,得自J27nB193_p0262a10繇去也。」師云:「退身三步。」進云:「應用蒙師指,如何是向J27nB193_p0262a11上一路?」師云:「合取兩片皮。」乃云:「十月十有五,把住戴J27nB193_p0262a12角虎,雖不動毫端,通身遍界露。」舉拂子云:「會麼?此時J27nB193_p0262a13若不究根源,莫待他生冤佛祖。」
J27nB193_p0262a14端午小參。「此時此日正端陽,小院微風徹骨涼,惟有J27nB193_p0262a15汨羅江上客,一番提起一悲傷。山僧今日無端將佛J27nB193_p0262a16法世法盡情漏逗了也。動絃別曲,不妨千載知音。胡J27nB193_p0262a17喝亂道,驢頭不對馬嘴。正如三家村裏臭老婆鬥廝J27nB193_p0262a18罵相似,有甚麼交涉。是事且止,動絃別曲一句作麼J27nB193_p0262a19生道?」良久云:「愁人莫向愁人說,說向愁人愁斷腸。」
J27nB193_p0262a20小參。僧問:「未出方丈作麼生?」師云:「略較些子。」進云:「出J27nB193_p0262a21後作麼生?」師云:「特地一場愁。」僧擬議,師便打。乃云:「心J27nB193_p0262a22隨萬境轉,轉處實能幽。隨流認得性,無喜亦無憂。齋J27nB193_p0262a23堂前狗子太殺伶俐,聞板聲便覺頭痛。汝等諸人到J27nB193_p0262a24這裏,為甚麼不肯承當?縱有承當,也是個擔板漢。作J27nB193_p0262a25麼生道得完全去?」顧視大眾云:「若將耳聽終難會,眼J27nB193_p0262a26裏聞聲方始親。」
J27nB193_p0262a27師誕日小參。僧問:「今日誕生,如何施禮?」師云:「一點座J27nB193_p0262a28中圓。」行者問:「如何是禪宗正脈?」師云:「壁立萬仞。」進云:J27nB193_p0262a29「如何是淨土彌陀?」師云:「拖泥帶水。」者擬議,師便打,乃J27nB193_p0262a30豎拂云:「四十八年前秪如是,四十八年後亦如是,正J27nB193_p0262b01當四十八年亦如是。既都如是,覓生處不可得,覓死J27nB193_p0262b02處不可得,覓不生不死處不可得,覓亦生亦死處不J27nB193_p0262b03可得。既都不可得,諸上座向何處慶誕?於此明得,天J27nB193_p0262b04下老和尚無奈汝何。若也見處糢糊、關津逗漏,炤用J27nB193_p0262b05不分、主賓莫辨,鋪文章為故事、以佛法當人情,正是J27nB193_p0262b06閻老子面前喫鐵棒的張本。山僧不得不說破。且今J27nB193_p0262b07諸上座為山僧慶誕,山僧特特小參酬謝,是文章耶?J27nB193_p0262b08故事耶?佛法耶?人情耶?」良久云:「會麼?花中簇錦繇來J27nB193_p0262b09妙,錦上鋪花色更奇。」
J27nB193_p0262b10上梁小參。云:「托出脊梁橫法界,大開眼目耀乾坤。都J27nB193_p0262b11盧一座空王殿,八萬四千解脫門。正當與麼時,撐持J27nB193_p0262b12者撐持,蓋覆者蓋覆。且道阿那個作得其中主?」良久J27nB193_p0262b13云:「兒孫卓立如麻粟,沒量大人獨個尊。」喝一喝,轉身。
J27nB193_p0262b14晚參。云:「今宵八月十五,晚參無勞打鼓,時節因緣到J27nB193_p0262b15來,自然月圓當戶。正當與麼時,你也一分受用,我也J27nB193_p0262b16一分受用,你也一分光彩,我也一分光彩,你也沒量J27nB193_p0262b17罪過,我也沒量罪過。若也緇素分明,黃檗平分半座。J27nB193_p0262b18有麼?有麼?」眾默然。師云:「竹影掃階塵不動,月穿潭底J27nB193_p0262b19水無痕。」
J27nB193_p0262b20師誕日小參。僧問:「結制半個月,未審水牯牛作麼生?」J27nB193_p0262b21師打云:「不得犯人苗稼。」乃云:「歸元性無二,方便有多J27nB193_p0262b22門。性既無二,則山僧與諸上座無差。諸上座與山僧J27nB193_p0262b23無別無差無別。渾然一體,同行同住、同坐同臥、同喫J27nB193_p0262b24同屙。為甚麼問著,十個有五雙都云不會?蓋為諸上J27nB193_p0262b25座未曾踏著本地風光、未曾悟得本命元辰,心境兩J27nB193_p0262b26立,彼此間隔,無同異中熾然成異。所以愈看愈疏,轉J27nB193_p0262b27求轉遠。若能退步一踏,回光一炤,覓其同相了不可J27nB193_p0262b28得,而況異耶?到這裏,佛祖捕覷無門,天人讚頌奚及,J27nB193_p0262b29諸上座又向何處慶誕?」西堂云:「一人有慶,萬民樂業。」J27nB193_p0262b30師云:「庭前生瑞草,好事不如無。」便歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0262c01春日小參。僧問:「臘月年老,今朝青春。如何是春?」師云:J27nB193_p0262c02「峰巒俱挺秀。」進云:「某甲騎春牛遊戲去也。」師云:「腳下J27nB193_p0262c03又沾泥。」乃云:「春風來竹戶,春鳥語南枝,一段真消息,J27nB193_p0262c04明明不我欺。此乃山僧分上事。汝等諸人分上又作J27nB193_p0262c05麼生?若也薦得,日日風光、時時明媚,左之右之,無往J27nB193_p0262c06不利。少涉遲疑,山河大地礙汝眼睛,雲騰霧起塞汝J27nB193_p0262c07鼻孔,春來秋去移汝腳跟,生住異滅壞汝心源。年久J27nB193_p0262c08月深,不覺不知頭白齒黃,三家村裏流俗阿師算將J27nB193_p0262c09去。誠為可惜。且今竭力挽回一句作麼生道?就路還J27nB193_p0262c10家春正鬧,得便宜處且便宜。」歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0262c11師至曹山,偶言:「此乃曹山禪席,山僧借路經過,豈可J27nB193_p0262c12撒泥撒沙,埋沒此一片淨地耶?昨因覺予禪人接至J27nB193_p0262c13國懽,其主人有忽略之意,山僧遂行至中途,卻遇一J27nB193_p0262c14隊沒面目漢,攔胸擒至曹山阿裏亂搦一上。即今又J27nB193_p0262c15作麼生開交?」顧視大眾云:「還有相救者麼?」眾無語。復J27nB193_p0262c16云:「自跳去也,千重百匝渾閑事,一道昇平處處安。」便J27nB193_p0262c17行。
J27nB193_p0262c18至檀度庵,居士請小參。僧問:「大徹底人因甚命根不J27nB193_p0262c19斷?」師云:「青山依舊白雲中。」進云:「纔到檀度,一枝蠟燭J27nB193_p0262c20滿臺紅。如何是滿臺紅意旨?」師云:「切莫眼花。」進云:「謝J27nB193_p0262c21和尚指示。」師打云:「指示個什麼?」僧喝,師打。問:「如何是J27nB193_p0262c22撥塵見佛?」師打云:「見麼?」進云:「問和尚幾時成佛?」師又J27nB193_p0262c23打。進云:「為甚麼不肯承當?」師打云:「怎怪得老僧?」乃云:J27nB193_p0262c24「春風浩蕩,和氣藹然,世路崎嶇,茫茫弗覺。林下野人,J27nB193_p0262c25披襟獨得。獨得則不無。秪如過去心不可得,未來心J27nB193_p0262c26不可得,現在心不可得,又作麼生?莫是得無所得而J27nB193_p0262c27得麼?直饒與麼會,未免一句合頭語,萬劫繫驢橛;若J27nB193_p0262c28不與麼會,業識茫茫,無本可據。作麼生道得恰好去?」J27nB193_p0262c29良久云:「裸形國內誇服飾,想君太煞不知時。」復云:「閒J27nB193_p0262c30亭二月草萋萋,夾路桃花浪馬蹄,磕著棒頭一著子,J27nB193_p0263a01通身紅爛血淋漓。」
J27nB193_p0263a02師到報親寺,請小參。云:「偶入圭峰古道場,渾身落草J27nB193_p0263a03細商量。相知不用物多品,一盞松花滿口香。諸禪人J27nB193_p0263a04會麼?知此一味,百味具足;明此一物,萬物靈然。以此J27nB193_p0263a05報親,親無不報;以此酬德,德無不酬。悟之者,歷劫受J27nB193_p0263a06用不盡;迷之者多,生抵債無休。諸禪人!光陰易過,時J27nB193_p0263a07不待人,何不趁此色身強健,打到徹頭徹尾,不被天J27nB193_p0263a08下老和尚舌頭瞞去。如未?也須各各咬嚼,看是甚麼J27nB193_p0263a09味?」僧便喝,師云:「未在,試道看。」僧又喝,師云:「三喝後如J27nB193_p0263a10何?」僧云:「太多生。」師云:「三餐茶飯尋嘗事,不是飽參人J27nB193_p0263a11不知。」
J27nB193_p0263a12師誕日小參。云:「薄福住村院,寒風疾如箭,四壁沒遮J27nB193_p0263a13攔,雪珠撲滿面。凍得諸人,徹骨徹髓。驅馳衲子,如雷J27nB193_p0263a14如電,個樣沒面目長老,正好拽下,爛搥一頓,以慶所J27nB193_p0263a15願,那更備辦如許果物以為祝延,致令山僧展轉福J27nB193_p0263a16薄。福既薄也,壽將安寄?汝等諸人未能脫卻尋嘗故J27nB193_p0263a17套,又不能如吾所願,直須向自己本命元辰上究竟J27nB193_p0263a18看,還有生相也無?還有死相也無?還有不生不死相J27nB193_p0263a19也無?還有亦生亦死相也無?既覓四相了不可得,有J27nB193_p0263a20何壽相而可祝哉?大丈夫須具如是眼目,看破世間,J27nB193_p0263a21草屋瓊樓奚優奚劣?糞衣珍服何貴何賤?一種平懷,J27nB193_p0263a22法法成現,壽夭窮通,不隔條線。祖師西來,傳此慧命,J27nB193_p0263a23以壽後世;東土衲僧,承此源流,普利無窮。且道福嚴J27nB193_p0263a24接個甚麼,堪受人天慶讚?」良久云:「陡亂人間花甲子,J27nB193_p0263a25都盧千古一長年。」
J27nB193_p0263a26冬至小參。云:「群陰剝盡一陽來,一線光明任剪裁。惟J27nB193_p0263a27有山翁多鹵莽,無陰陽地獨徘徊。大眾會麼?三世諸J27nB193_p0263a28佛歷代祖師天下老和尚,盡在一線光明裏作大佛J27nB193_p0263a29事。現前大眾一切生靈,亦在裏許安身立命。且道山J27nB193_p0263a30僧為甚麼不在裏許?不是與人難共住,大都緇素要J27nB193_p0263b01分明。」
J27nB193_p0263b02除夕小參。云:「閻老師殿上開個飯舖,直至臘月三十J27nB193_p0263b03夜來,鬼也沒得上門到好消息。諸人還會麼?家有白J27nB193_p0263b04澤之圖,必無如是妖怪。到者裏,靜悄悄、綿密密、空蕩J27nB193_p0263b05蕩、赤灑灑,也無人、也無佛、也無新、也無舊、也無得、也J27nB193_p0263b06無失、也無來、也無去,大悲千眼窺覷無門,三頭六臂J27nB193_p0263b07撈摸不著。雖然如是,不得住久。住久成勞,恐墮無為J27nB193_p0263b08寂滅之海。急須轉向這邊,應個時節始得。且道如何J27nB193_p0263b09是這邊時節?一聲爆吼虛空裂,磕碎閻羅鼻半邊。」
J27nB193_p0263b10上元小參。云:「得休休處且休休,何事竟年向外求?各J27nB193_p0263b11各迴光返炤看,誰家堂上沒燈毬。諸人還會麼?時逢J27nB193_p0263b12泰運、節屆元宵,燈月交輝、人天共慶。觸著毫端,大事J27nB193_p0263b13已竟。山僧今日向諸人固有之中撥出一道常光,不J27nB193_p0263b14妨輝天鑑地、耀古騰今。於中一一世界、一一宮殿、一J27nB193_p0263b15一眾生,各各六門放大寶光射入此間,正如寶網交J27nB193_p0263b16光重重無盡。驀地看來,也是眼中金屑。只如彼此光J27nB193_p0263b17未發時,無佛無眾生、無見無聞無覺無知,汝等諸人J27nB193_p0263b18將什麼與福嚴相見?」一僧云:「大家在者裏。」師云:「坐斷J27nB193_p0263b19兩條明暗路,不風光處卻風光。」便歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0263b20師到延平象山庵,眾居士請小參。云:「劍水靜,龍睡穩;J27nB193_p0263b21象山秀,鳳來棲。阿誰卓立萬峰頂,遍體分明沒點泥。J27nB193_p0263b22正當此際,賓主圓融、我人一致。門內有君子,門外君J27nB193_p0263b23子至,闡揚佛祖家風,逗漏衲僧巴鼻。且道如何是衲J27nB193_p0263b24僧巴鼻?」僧一喝便出。師云:「目富千峰翠,胸清一帶流。」
J27nB193_p0263b25林日升請對靈小參。云:「慎終追遠,已盡孝子之心;超J27nB193_p0263b26生脫死,方休道人之念。念休則佛道彌隆,心盡則孝J27nB193_p0263b27行圓滿。是以感格十方海眾,一時雲集,成就不可思J27nB193_p0263b28議之事。苟非菩薩願力所致,孰能為之?蓋公生平喜J27nB193_p0263b29怒哀樂無動於中,慈悲喜捨博施於外,四鄰足法,萬J27nB193_p0263b30姓沾恩,享壽八十有四,齋戒五十餘年。今值泰運之J27nB193_p0263c01時,和氣藹然,正念而逝,必超清淨之域,奚用贅言為J27nB193_p0263c02薦?然則羅漢有出陰之迷,菩薩有隔羅之惑,猶恐微J27nB193_p0263c03瑕所玷,謹申一偈,聊助末後一段光明。伏惟諦聽!茫J27nB193_p0263c04茫業識杳無涯,悟者渾成智慧花。炤破本來無一物,J27nB193_p0263c05翻身便是法王家。」敲靈几云:「會麼?向這裏入。」
J27nB193_p0263c06訥夫程居士,為乃郎德哥作滿月,請小參。云:「有智不J27nB193_p0263c07揀年高,無智徒勞百歲。你看釋迦老子纔出娘胎,便J27nB193_p0263c08云:『天上天下,惟吾獨尊。』茲者德哥滿月,父母同其皈J27nB193_p0263c09依三寶,大明國裏能有幾人?殊不知智慧德相本來J27nB193_p0263c10具足,慈悲喜捨元自現成,一念返炤與佛無二。所謂J27nB193_p0263c11佛者覺也,法者正也,僧者淨也。一體三寶,圓明如鏡。J27nB193_p0263c12如是皈依,龍天欽敬,十方諸佛默然許可,現前大眾J27nB193_p0263c13懽喜印證。聽吾摩頂受記。」乃摩頂云:「慧根少小豈尋J27nB193_p0263c14常,得我安名名自揚,不負山僧親囑付,名成為我作J27nB193_p0263c15金湯。」
J27nB193_p0263c16臘月十五日小參。云:「十五日已前,猛虎踞山邊。十五J27nB193_p0263c17日已後,毒蛇橫谷口。正當十五日,八面那乂當陽立。J27nB193_p0263c18汝若進前退後,未免喪身失命。若也不進不退,正是J27nB193_p0263c19立地死漢。作麼生免得那叉手中棒?」乃云:「通身在裏J27nB193_p0263c20許,通身不在裏許。」便歸方丈。
J27nB193_p0263c21孝子程一文請對靈小參。云:「人生如夢幻,百歲若須J27nB193_p0263c22臾,夢破幻無寄,圓明一太虛。曾氏孺人還曾夢破一J27nB193_p0263c23回也未?若也夢破,直下便是清淨解脫之場,了無生J27nB193_p0263c24死迷悟之隔。如未,山僧重說伽陀為汝點破,令汝所J27nB193_p0263c25向無不自繇自在。自性元無半點玼,隨緣染淨叵思J27nB193_p0263c26惟,雲開雲合山長在,漚滅漚生海不移。點破業花成J27nB193_p0263c27慧果,撥開夢眼露全機。善人頓悟個中意,金閣銀樓J27nB193_p0263c28任所之。」
J27nB193_p0263c29除夕小參。云:「去年此際帶累汝等冷冰冰地,滴水滴J27nB193_p0263c30凍,今年逗到龍泉,瓦解冰消,一滴也無。不獨閻老師J27nB193_p0264a01摸索不著,乃至三世諸佛窺覷無門。胸中了無滯物,J27nB193_p0264a02正好過此殘年。你等終日作詩作偈,不乾不淨,擬還J27nB193_p0264a03閻老師飯錢,未夢見在,殊不知正是閻老師殿前喫J27nB193_p0264a04棒的張本。一字入公門,九牛拖不出。知之一字,眾禍J27nB193_p0264a05之門。知之一字,眾妙之門,直饒不知,不覺竟日嘴盧J27nB193_p0264a06都地,亦是眾禍之根,亦是眾妙之元。倘能剔脫兩重J27nB193_p0264a07關捩,不妨搥鑼打鼓過年,不為分外。何故?有佛處不J27nB193_p0264a08得住,無佛處急走過,始信閩南天色暖,季來季去總J27nB193_p0264a09風光。」
J27nB193_p0264a10常太禪人請小參。師云:「三日不談,口生荊棘;三日不J27nB193_p0264a11相見,莫作等閒看。今日山僧被上座逼個小參,如老J27nB193_p0264a12鼠入牛角相似,直得鑽研不出。不如舉個古人因緣,J27nB193_p0264a13與眾兄弟商略。臨濟大師云:『赤肉團上有一無位真J27nB193_p0264a14人,常從汝等面門出入,未證據者看看。』」師云:「家醜外J27nB193_p0264a15揚,未免旁觀者哂。時有僧問:『如何是無位真人?』」師云:J27nB193_p0264a16「逐塊不少。濟下禪床擒住云:『道!道!』」師云:「割雞焉用牛J27nB193_p0264a17刀?僧擬議。」師云:「死貓頭有甚用處?濟托開云:『無位真J27nB193_p0264a18人是個甚麼乾屎橛!』」師云:「自首者,原其罪。雖然蓋覆J27nB193_p0264a19將來,要且遺臭萬年,致令無位真人至今無出頭分。J27nB193_p0264a20山僧今日與伊出氣一番。赤肉團上有一無位真人,J27nB193_p0264a21在汝諸人腳跟下壁立萬仞,已證據未證據總放一J27nB193_p0264a22邊,直饒臨濟德山當前,敢保目瞪口呿。難難難,阿誰J27nB193_p0264a23敢動一毫端?易易易,舉足踏著自家底。且道不難不J27nB193_p0264a24易又作麼生?且聽山僧頌出。二月江南春正肥,黃鶯J27nB193_p0264a25樹上弄機系,行人歸去好歸去,莫待青山啼子規。」歸J27nB193_p0264a26方丈。
J27nB193_p0264a27性派為乃師潔公請小參。師云:「一心淨潔,大地絕纖J27nB193_p0264a28塵;一味尋常,普天無二道。淨潔,乃成佛之正因;尋嘗J27nB193_p0264a29係為人之本色,以至忘奇特、泯好惡、一賢愚、等物我、J27nB193_p0264a30淨法界、證真空,莫非尋嘗淨潔之功歟!所謂萬般施J27nB193_p0264b01設不如嘗,又不驚人又久長。如常卻似秋風好,無意J27nB193_p0264b02涼人人自涼。吾人於此會得,洗清天地一林霜;其或J27nB193_p0264b03未然,不妨石筍暗抽條。然我潔公耆舊,中年脫白,晚J27nB193_p0264b04歲入禪,其為性也疏嬾,其為德也不形,其為行也平J27nB193_p0264b05正,其為言也不華,博覽內外典籍而不倦,閒評今古J27nB193_p0264b06人物以無差,於我法中頗有見處。惜乎老矣!誠難取J27nB193_p0264b07用;脫若再來,吾當遲汝。果到告寂之時,預乞山僧數J27nB193_p0264b08言,以證平生之見聞,故聊陳梗概,與眾共知,此便是J27nB193_p0264b09耆舊尋常受用處。只如不落尋嘗淨潔,又作麼生道?J27nB193_p0264b10苟能獨步威音外,好向門前應馬牛。」
J27nB193_p0264b11耆舊默公六旬請小參。云:「耳順心通得自繇,隨高就J27nB193_p0264b12下混同流。等閒坐斷娘生日,巖桂紛紛傳九秋。諸人J27nB193_p0264b13還知麼?巖桂既也長舌,山僧豈可容默。不妨露個巴J27nB193_p0264b14鼻,與眾兄弟共相慶讚。」豎拂子云:「會麼?百年三萬六J27nB193_p0264b15千朝,反覆元來是者個。若也會得,慶讚週足。其或未J27nB193_p0264b16然,且聽下文註腳。然我耆舊默公臘高德重,六十年J27nB193_p0264b17來喜怒不形。雖未行腳,撞頭磕額,無非不請之友;咳J27nB193_p0264b18唾掉臂,盡是無緣之慈。雖未盡師友之道,抑亦不無J27nB193_p0264b19師友之力也。操持戒行圓明皎潔,真不愧為僧也。請J27nB193_p0264b20轉三代法輪,以資二親冥福,是不忘其大本也。發洪J27nB193_p0264b21誓願,廣度有情,是不捨法界眾生也。聞者遷善改過,J27nB193_p0264b22動則風行草偃,是有補於皇道也。所謂出家是大丈J27nB193_p0264b23夫事,非將相之所能為。耆舊與之不其然乎?山僧與J27nB193_p0264b24麼舉揚,大似負布鼓而過雷門。汝等諸人,電光影裏J27nB193_p0264b25同音讚助又且如何?」良久云:「五雲堆裏申三祝,突出J27nB193_p0264b26壽山萬古春。」
J27nB193_p0264b27師到資福寺,良守禪人請小參。云:「敲空作響,喚回業J27nB193_p0264b28識茫茫;指葉為金,流露婆心片片。識法乃能尊法,知J27nB193_p0264b29恩方解報恩。然則法無定相,作麼生識?恩無形跡,又J27nB193_p0264b30如何知?苟能於此明得,堪起臨濟之綱宗,可接曹溪J27nB193_p0264c01之正脈。如未,直須離有無之心為心,心心不異;超斷J27nB193_p0264c02常之見為見,見見無差。無差故,高處高平,低處低平;J27nB193_p0264c03不異也,大則大圓,小則小圓。事事無礙,法法全彰。大J27nB193_p0264c04似月映澄江,非心應物物常現;風清大野,無意涼人J27nB193_p0264c05人自涼。有時在家舍,不離途中;有時在途中,不離家J27nB193_p0264c06舍。茲者請陞此座,且道是家舍?是途中?一座巍然千J27nB193_p0264c07古振,門開四面好青山。」
J27nB193_p0264c08僧惟實為薦乃尊門頭良大,請小參。乃云:「門開八字J27nB193_p0264c09對南山,竟日呆呆望子還,及至子還君已往,始知恩J27nB193_p0264c10愛不相關。恩愛既不相關,要山僧薦拔作麼?諸人會J27nB193_p0264c11麼?父子上山,各自努力,行到水窮山盡處,敢保爹來J27nB193_p0264c12也不識。雖然不識,謾他一點不得。何故?為伊竟日門J27nB193_p0264c13頭戶底打掃的淨潔、覷捕的分明。凡來聖來,請陞最J27nB193_p0264c14上之級;賢到愚到,引入不二之門。廣納大方,迎送有J27nB193_p0264c15禮;開閉以時,洒掃合節,能事已畢,撒手歸去。所謂山J27nB193_p0264c16門頭打掃淨潔,便知水窮處消息。水窮處分明,便知J27nB193_p0264c17山門頭景。況天光下臨、地德上載,天地位否,地天乃J27nB193_p0264c18泰,上下交輝,圓明無礙。良大良大,果證得者個地位,J27nB193_p0264c19則生死去來,自繇自在。其或未然,山僧再垂方便,以J27nB193_p0264c20全其美。」震聲喝一喝,云:「會麼?白日青天霹靂聲,狸奴J27nB193_p0264c21產下玉麒麟,一毛頭上翻身轉,四海恩波盡坦平。」便J27nB193_p0264c22轉身。
J27nB193_p0264c23冬至小參。僧問:「日用中那個是我主人公?」師打云:「禮J27nB193_p0264c24拜著。」僧禮拜云:「謝師荅話。」師云:「隨語生解漢。」乃云:「一J27nB193_p0264c25氣氤氳,萬靈景仰。句下無私,言中有響。小人道消,君J27nB193_p0264c26子道長。報道陽春那畔來,風光已占梅梢上。正當與J27nB193_p0264c27麼時,好與三十大棒。何故?不合已隨群陰而去,又逐J27nB193_p0264c28一陽而來。催得天下人頭白齒黃,眼睛落地,業識茫J27nB193_p0264c29茫,無本可據。若是英氣衲僧,孤迥迥、峭巍巍,不與萬J27nB193_p0264c30法為侶、不共諸塵作對。陰陽未判之先,一坐坐斷,敢J27nB193_p0265a01保碧眼黃頭無處摸索,德山臨濟棒喝不入,天下老J27nB193_p0265a02和尚展盡神通、用盡伎倆,只在門外之遶。乃至人天J27nB193_p0265a03奉供無門、猿鳥獻花無路。綿綿密密不通風,正是五J27nB193_p0265a04家所共宗,放開線道兒孫事,葉葉枝枝分淡濃。」豎拂J27nB193_p0265a05子云:「諸人會麼?惟有這條真正脈,流傳萬古永無窮。」
J27nB193_p0265a06師回獅巖遼天居,首座慧門沛公同眾請小參。師云:J27nB193_p0265a07「無端卓錫傍僊家,惹得渾身是紫霞。就石尋源窮鳥J27nB193_p0265a08道,滿巖繚繞散天花。禎祥既現,靈氣所鍾,石竹林間J27nB193_p0265a09真棲美境,青松巖下別一洞天。雙溪水遶龍蛇動,萬J27nB193_p0265a10點峰朝佛祖關,自得於中無限妙趣,頻來個裏愈見J27nB193_p0265a11風光。十五年前點鐵成金,重樓傑閣一時幻出。十五J27nB193_p0265a12年後敲邪打正,驢兒馬子四面雲臻。逼得山僧口閣J27nB193_p0265a13壁上、鼻孔遼天,眼空四海、舌覆大千。只得無言可對、J27nB193_p0265a14無理可伸。如何得個轉身句子以赴來機?吾人於此J27nB193_p0265a15道得一句相應,便是返擲獅子。其或未然,山僧按下J27nB193_p0265a16雲頭,俯觀濁世去也。誰知赤心片片,活埋萬頃煙波。J27nB193_p0265a17業識茫茫,生陷無邊苦海。且道有何法力,出脫苦海、J27nB193_p0265a18破除煙波,以至清淨之域,而登解脫之場?」喝一喝云:J27nB193_p0265a19「出也出也,破也破也。還信得及麼?舌卷迅雷醒客夢,J27nB193_p0265a20杖挑杲日曉愚蒙,道是賓耶還作主,何妨下榻待諸J27nB193_p0265a21公。」
J27nB193_p0265a22除夕小參。云:「竟日說禪說道、作詩作偈,逞盡伎倆、展J27nB193_p0265a23盡神通,逗到臘月三十日來,一字也用不著。大事為J27nB193_p0265a24汝不得,小事自己支當。各各迴光返炤看,了無一物J27nB193_p0265a25送殘年。山童放爆驚山鬼,彈破娘生鼻半邊。鼻頭既J27nB193_p0265a26破,不成面門。雖然如是,不妨因事長智,上與三世諸J27nB193_p0265a27佛同一鼻孔出氣,下與六道眾生共一鼻孔通風。年J27nB193_p0265a28來年去淨如洗,動著毫端礙碧空。」
J27nB193_p0265a29師到資福寺,請小參。云:「良守禪侄,禁足未滿千日,聞J27nB193_p0265a30予南遊,即開禁出山,迎接歸寺,略其小節而全大體,J27nB193_p0265b01仍請山僧小參以慰大眾。余雖朽拙,豈可吝其法施J27nB193_p0265b02而卻至誠耶?聊敘數言,伏惟淨眾各各諦聽。一钁生J27nB193_p0265b03涯,翻盡本來清淨地;半瓢活計,頻添無量福田家。耕J27nB193_p0265b04雲鋤月,功不浪施;帶水拖泥,福歸有地。令方來龍象J27nB193_p0265b05箇箇飽齁,使諸上善人俱來資福。所謂種田博飯尋J27nB193_p0265b06常事,不是飽參人不知。是事姑置,只如斬釘截鐵漢J27nB193_p0265b07子,驅耕奪食手段到來,如何施設?」豎拂子云:「會麼?覿J27nB193_p0265b08面揚鞭千里震,鐵牛驚跳出欄圈。」
J27nB193_p0265b09葉善祜居士薦考請小參。師云:「天上神仙府,人間宰J27nB193_p0265b10相家,路頭看得破,來去摠無差。苟無差也,便知因緣J27nB193_p0265b11和合而生,生即無生。因緣離別而滅,滅即無滅。無生J27nB193_p0265b12無滅,見本來是,則名為觀自在。故能居富貴之中,不J27nB193_p0265b13為富貴之所羅籠;臨生死之際,不為生死之所障礙。J27nB193_p0265b14塵塵剎剎展演三昧,在在處處遊戲神通。百花叢裏J27nB193_p0265b15葉不沾身,千佛場中儼然一數。了卻世緣,還菩薩債。J27nB193_p0265b16愛情盡處道心現,當念超登九品蓮。山僧與麼舉揚,J27nB193_p0265b17還當得薦拔也未?紫薇頂上靈根草,不借春風花亦J27nB193_p0265b18開。」
