J37nB392_p0625b05稽首拜上國山老人,昨夏南樞星降,北極虹飛,本應J37nB392_p0625b06隨眾歡呼,接足瞻禮,緣遵昔命,故不敢復徇世諦,知J37nB392_p0625b07在慈育之餘,必不罪某慢法耳。今雖學眾四來、宰官J37nB392_p0625b08垂護,奈人繁用嗇,事事維艱,勉竭黔駑之才,徒效上J37nB392_p0625b09驤之步,以致牽縈坐是,舉動靡能,久失玄音,羹牆更J37nB392_p0625b10切,敢馳微楮,代訊興居。花稻收成,略勝去歲,國稅納J37nB392_p0625b11已過半,雖感彼蒼之呵護,實賴和尚之蔭庇也。聊脩J37nB392_p0625b12輶敬,用表蟻誠,刻錄呈刪,悚惶不既。

J37nB392_p0625b14初七,接來書云:收成略勝去歲,國稅納已過半。復J37nB392_p0625b15閱新刻語錄,山僧不禁蹈舞,居然一佛出世矣。兼J37nB392_p0625b16之青龍一片荒地,曩承遠近檀護及前執事人一J37nB392_p0625b17腔血汗所成,幸爾大眾有依、叢林有託,山僧縱老J37nB392_p0625b18死丘壑,復何憾焉?吾子既踞座披衣為一方知識,J37nB392_p0625b19必也匡時挽敝,體從上佛祖之淳風,以眾心為心、J37nB392_p0625b20以眾耳為耳、以眾目為目。夫以眾心為心者,其量J37nB392_p0625b21普而無物不容;眾耳為耳者,其聽聰而好惡之聲J37nB392_p0625b22無不辨;眾目為目者,其明遠而秋毫之末可察。是J37nB392_p0625b23以,大海不擇細流、泰山不讓土壤,世、出世間其理J37nB392_p0625b24一也。凡接待衲子,唯以本分鉗鎚使彼透脫生死,J37nB392_p0625b25機無大小,施之以平等法門,叢林之興可卜、佛祖J37nB392_p0625b26慧命可繼,為知識者能事畢矣。

J37nB392_p0625b28教言兩接,慈誨彌深,捧讀之餘,感媿交集。況承諭云:J37nB392_p0625b29復閱新刻語錄,和尚不禁蹈舞,居然一佛出世矣。又J37nB392_p0625b30曰:佛祖出世,蓋謂得人為急,欲覓一箇半箇,使正法J37nB392_p0625c01眼藏勿令斷絕。某觀今知識說法雲興,不啻萬卉爭J37nB392_p0625c02奇,群英鬥麗。某以疏才涼德,忝錄師門,雖有上堂等J37nB392_p0625c03語,非敢顰效今時,不過應酬請者而已。奈侍僧不諳,J37nB392_p0625c04竊錄成帙,不謂用心未密,更被好事者妄災梨棗,正J37nB392_p0625c05是不善游刃,反蒙庖丁之稱,益增汗顏耳。又觀今之J37nB392_p0625c06學者,乍入叢林,棄本逐末,競習雅騷,欲冀行解相應,J37nB392_p0625c07何異龜毛兔角,懸絲慧命,不幾岌岌哉?青龍禪眾邇J37nB392_p0625c08已屏盡浮華,日惟種田博飯,雖不能追上古之風規,J37nB392_p0625c09皆沐和尚之餘光而然也。時間滿擬月貯龍江,雲擔J37nB392_p0625c10鶴渚,趨呈座右,以暢積懷。齎儀預申,伏希原宥。

J37nB392_p0625c12春來福履,與日俱新;歲首倥傯,未遑趨謁。曩因台命,J37nB392_p0625c13兩遵尸素。數載遭饑、遭饉,飲水、飲湯,幾於安眾無策;J37nB392_p0625c14道左之人,未免交口而椰榆之。今也,歲有豐色、眾有J37nB392_p0625c15和聲,國稅叢林亦有內託外護之者;愧且喜也!然主J37nB392_p0625c16持之道,進退以節、代謝以時。當此之時,委任之限已J37nB392_p0625c17周、休沐之假可請,或在座遴賢、或遐邇延選,伯仲輪J37nB392_p0625c18肩,逸勞宜共;同為入室之侶,須分法社之憂。安忍我J37nB392_p0625c19獨賢勞,而眾咸袖手!讀北山之詩,不能不掩卷太息!J37nB392_p0625c20且師有言:施之以平等法門;某亦願師施平等心,毋J37nB392_p0625c21令我一人獨瘁也!敬呈偈曰:兩度無違領憲言,不辭J37nB392_p0625c22赤手主空門;人情有進當須退,與世還他古道有。

J37nB392_p0625c24自維揚返荊谿,半年以來,身如破車,腳似飛蓬,曾J37nB392_p0625c25無片晷之暇,奈何!奈何!昨見來書云:歲有豐色,眾J37nB392_p0625c26有和聲,國稅叢林亦有內託外護。山僧不勝慶慰,J37nB392_p0625c27乃子福德所致,亦叢林厚幸,復何他慮?至於進退J37nB392_p0625c28之節、分憂之勞,此太早計生。然青龍一坐具地,已J37nB392_p0625c29曾兩度鳴鼓上堂,人天眾前分付與子,並無年月J37nB392_p0625c30期限之說,亦非衙署傳舍之所,何乃妄生許多葛J37nB392_p0626a01藤?山僧獨慮普同塔及重興隆福碑,賴子協力為J37nB392_p0626a02我圖成,待山僧死後,不用作供,亦不必下語,以此J37nB392_p0626a03二事酬恩足矣。外和偈曰:聞說昔人曾有言,養兒J37nB392_p0626a04多為起家門,須知不奉原非輔,古道無如慧命存。

J37nB392_p0626a06前六月廿八日拜誦回札,若親提命,不勝汗惶。內云:J37nB392_p0626a07半年以來,無片晷之暇,不幾為蒼生太勞乎?老年神J37nB392_p0626a08思不宜過繁,所朢寒暑自愛,是則不肖惓惓之心也。J37nB392_p0626a09某自受託以來,夙夜競競恪守,常恐隕越,以貽前人J37nB392_p0626a10羞。幸芘餘光,勉支三載,拮据竭蹶,安敢辭勞?第苦稟J37nB392_p0626a11質素孱,加之籌慮太過,百疾洊侵,心欲肩而力不逮,J37nB392_p0626a12為之廩廩。師資之情,寧不閔念?昨同公議,某某代主J37nB392_p0626a13法席,修楮報聞,候嚴命下頒,即齎儀延請。一見祖庭J37nB392_p0626a14重任,授受匪輕;二俾伊人信行,樂從莫諉;三使某得J37nB392_p0626a15少息肩,再圖報稱。一舉而三善備焉。此皆發露肝膈,J37nB392_p0626a16瀝膽陳情,仰朢北風,以慰饑渴。臨毫懇禱,無任懸懸。

J37nB392_p0626a18前六月與子書中甚是明白,毫無隱匿。何故?徒勞J37nB392_p0626a19跋涉,枉廢人力。子既擔當佛祖重任,陞座說法,開J37nB392_p0626a20示後來,可謂人天師範矣。夫為人天師範者,人莫J37nB392_p0626a21行而行之,人莫忍而忍之,人難能而能之,唯慧命J37nB392_p0626a22為念,弘道是懷,以至功流百世,名垂不朽。雪後始J37nB392_p0626a23知松柏操,此之謂歟?今青龍雖不大備,僅避風雨,J37nB392_p0626a24遠近檀護皆知向佛,亦可化度,地僻景幽,儘可行J37nB392_p0626a25道。欲舍此而他往,我不知子是何意也?不及盡言,J37nB392_p0626a26惟子勉之。

J37nB392_p0626a28某以譾劣,辱諭諄諄。夫佛祖重任,豈易擔當?人天師J37nB392_p0626a29範,寧容濫竊?《易》曰:「非所據而據之,身必辱。」又曰:「德薄J37nB392_p0626a30而位尊,力小而任大,鮮不僨乃事者。」與其隕越於後,J37nB392_p0626b01孰若規避於今?再四籌維,心神俱耗,而夙莫靡寧者,J37nB392_p0626b02此也。來諭云:行人所莫行,忍人所莫忍。勗勵不肖,至J37nB392_p0626b03矣厚矣。然返而內訟,福慧兩無,如觸籓之羝,進退維J37nB392_p0626b04谷。欲逡巡謝事,難逭方命之愆;勉力重承,又獲辱命J37nB392_p0626b05之戾。兩者之間,無所逃罪。時權其重輕,則方命罪小,J37nB392_p0626b06辱命罪大,寧處小而避大?所恃慧照,矜其兩難,開其J37nB392_p0626b07一面,庶幾天高地厚之中,稍可容足。儻仍不允所請,J37nB392_p0626b08惟賦歸去之辭,縱臨嚴命,不遑顧恤,極知狂瀆,必犯J37nB392_p0626b09雷霆。願霽威曲原,憐而可之,則某幸甚!法門幸甚!

J37nB392_p0626b11青龍一剎,悉屬檀護脂膏所為,與山僧何預焉?況J37nB392_p0626b12山僧於人天眾前,兩次委付與你,無不知者。故爾J37nB392_p0626b13放浪煙霞,息影巖壑,以待殘喘而已。且維揚、荊谿J37nB392_p0626b14二處,葛藤尚未剖斷,何暇復顧慮於青龍者哉?今J37nB392_p0626b15而後,更以瑣末事煩亂山僧者,作不孝論。至囑至囑。
與坦菴方學士
J37nB392_p0626b17鼎台嚴重,朢風度者物色無由,幸方外人數獲抵掌,J37nB392_p0626b18迭蒙供賜,良繇桑梓情深,故爾垂青破格。山野無他J37nB392_p0626b19于請,惟先師塔銘是用表章,雖名卿鉅公與師交游J37nB392_p0626b20者往往不乏,咸欲吐班香、發宋艷,為先師潤色。然山J37nB392_p0626b21野之意,但祈徵實,毋取增華,計唯檀護交師最密、知J37nB392_p0626b22師最深,華袞之筆當代史遷、法社、董狐,一經品題便J37nB392_p0626b23成實錄,俾千百世而下信大檀即信先德,信先德始J37nB392_p0626b24信參叩,即參叩而悟本來,令先師一片婆心人人透J37nB392_p0626b25徹,其為表章非止筆華墨燄供人豔賞已也。昔張公J37nB392_p0626b26為湛堂作銘,流譽至今,檀護又等而上之矣。區區之J37nB392_p0626b27私,向己面陳,隨蒙俯允。今登玟在即,遣僧走領,以光J37nB392_p0626b28不朽。謹愧腆儀,統希莞存。

J37nB392_p0626b30交游方外三十餘年,前蒙開導,捧誦法檀,悔晤遲J37nB392_p0626c01矣。復諭為令師作塔上之銘,況百老人中外知識,J37nB392_p0626c02朝野欽崇,疏拙之才,奚堪取重?勉承慈命,權為撰J37nB392_p0626c03訖。書訖,外命選佳集已竟,復僭弁數言,敬付來者,J37nB392_p0626c04幸並察入。隆惠遠頒,卻恐不恭,拜登容謝。
答檀越借牛
J37nB392_p0626c06踰月,不聞音信。正此馳思,伏領華翰,就覓一牛,大為J37nB392_p0626c07疑矣。不知公之所覓者,露地白牛耶?放生耕牛耶?若J37nB392_p0626c08是露地白牛,人人本有,只因無始以來,貪嗔癡妄,反J37nB392_p0626c09為昧卻。君但己覓,安用他求?若是放生耕牛,誠私用J37nB392_p0626c10常住,一涉私則為盜,豈盜用常住而稱善知識者?未J37nB392_p0626c11之有也。山僧自出方外,與世漠如,雖主法席,室無長J37nB392_p0626c12物,不履豪門,叢林巨細,盡付執事,出納支藉,無復相J37nB392_p0626c13聞,惟普柳粥飯隨眾而已,任緣住持,不作常日想。然J37nB392_p0626c14此露地牛、放生牛,名別體同,非一非二,總在爾我一J37nB392_p0626c15心之變化耳。嗚呼!今之不見先佛模範,專事諛媚,取J37nB392_p0626c16招提之物,或己用,或人情,識者憫笑,恬然不知。斯語J37nB392_p0626c17若不向公吐露,則殆無開口處。願公採聽原宥。不宣。
復善權西堂時一大師附丁未冬來書
J37nB392_p0626c19存兄稟質素贏弱,且又年來多病,不意竟歸寂於J37nB392_p0626c20善權,此皆定分,似不可強者。弟觀善權,奇峰秀水,J37nB392_p0626c21古柏喬松,實為江南名剎。且佛殿自唐迄今,朝凡J37nB392_p0626c22幾易,而嵬然無恙,豈非鬼神呵護所致耶?況又列J37nB392_p0626c23剎相望,龍象奔趨之所,非如青龍僻奧,禪衲難於J37nB392_p0626c24往來也。故老人遺命建塔,善權以為可行道安眾J37nB392_p0626c25耳。然有其地,須待其人,弟揣非兄主持,不足以振J37nB392_p0626c26起先人之道。何也?兄知見精確,足以服衲子;股肱J37nB392_p0626c27得人,可以禦外侮;才識淵贍,足以慕士紳。所慮者,J37nB392_p0626c28惟錢穀耳。但使座下常有抱道衲子,錢穀何足慮J37nB392_p0626c29哉?惟冀俯從眾願,不虛來請,法門幸甚!老人幸甚!
J37nB392_p0626c30老人去後,未經三載,不幸彼蒼繼喪哲人,痛也如何!J37nB392_p0627a01某本道德荒蕪,學識疏淺,無論仰愧先賢,即當世導J37nB392_p0627a02師,機語峻峭,博辯縱橫,敬嚴法道,禮樂文章,皆遠遜J37nB392_p0627a03諸昆仲,而愧弗若者也。負愧之多於此,而來教獨承J37nB392_p0627a04謬愛者,豈信有異乎人之心,聽有異乎人之耳哉?然J37nB392_p0627a05雖過譽良多,實亦難逃方命之罪,況青龍屢辭,先人J37nB392_p0627a06不克是願,今尚未得解脫,將見銅駝薶荒艸有日矣!J37nB392_p0627a07祗候方丈有主,當容荊請,臨風拜謝,不盡欲言。
與諸山同門
J37nB392_p0627a09天下有可定不可定之事,亦有可定不可定之數。今J37nB392_p0627a10以先師塔基徵之,果然。不肖未出青龍,造塔之念萌J37nB392_p0627a11之久矣;既赴善權,造塔之心無刻有間。第所難者,一J37nB392_p0627a12坐具地耳。四處訪求,只澗東茶園稍可小就塔基,遂J37nB392_p0627a13請弁山且和尚起龕荼毘,獲大小舍利不可勝數,鎖J37nB392_p0627a14子靈骨五色斕斑,齒牙目睛全如故。不意上蒼顯靈,J37nB392_p0627a15先人默佑,忽於冬初有徽商尋得萬松嶺後一穴,願J37nB392_p0627a16酬重直,即被舊住契賣。不肖於中竭力挽回,將茶園J37nB392_p0627a17嶺後二地卜之於蓍龜,鬮之於韋駝,咸歸嶺後,此非J37nB392_p0627a18定數也耶?然是處乃一片童山,人多忽略,豈天留以J37nB392_p0627a19副先師遺命乎?地近從銅棺山起伏來,寺結太陽金J37nB392_p0627a20星,復左抽辛龍一脈,聯絡五六水泡,翻身逆勢,有回J37nB392_p0627a21龍顧祖之意。入首太陰金星,開窩吐脣龍虎,四五重J37nB392_p0627a22峰巒,三十六逆案,重重密羅,以拱抱寅艮水源,轉巽J37nB392_p0627a23巳午,曲屈到堂,歸戌庫,入洞口,而杳不知去處。灼龜J37nB392_p0627a24者云:「局勢弘偉,氣脈壯麗。」信不誤矣。今觀此地,不現J37nB392_p0627a25於前,不現於後,而獨現於造塔之期,微天之定數,曷J37nB392_p0627a26以至此?且今山向甚利,又得十月廿四良辰,故頇為J37nB392_p0627a27入壙之舉,而建塔之需非三百餘金不可。時下十未J37nB392_p0627a28及一,不知將來何所措手?特遣楮生代為報聞。儻貴J37nB392_p0627a29冗稍間,或能移玉塔前一觀,始信山靈有待耳。
致諸山同門癸丑九月十九日
J37nB392_p0627b01逕啟善權,為先老人拮据之地。自西歸以來,九載於J37nB392_p0627b02茲,奉安靈塔,工程未竟。操不揆庸劣,自竭愚誠,黽勉J37nB392_p0627b03卒事,庶以存先人之遺意於無窮也。詎意王林竟仗J37nB392_p0627b04凶威,恣行貪噬,將圖鳩踞鵲巢,何異指鹿為馬。借官J37nB392_p0627b05府之氣勢,一日而封門者踵來;倚吏胥為爪牙,持籤J37nB392_p0627b06而驅逐者雲集。山門霹占,嗟堂構之俱傾;香火潛移,J37nB392_p0627b07悵神靈之何託。自有蘭若栴檀以來,未有弱肉強食,J37nB392_p0627b08入室操戈,至於如此之甚者也。操以不才,謬膺郡邑J37nB392_p0627b09檀護之請,繼席善權,三年於茲矣。靜守清規,勉敦苦J37nB392_p0627b10行,幸無愆失,眾所灼知。今日避此凶鋒,畏其虐燄,跳J37nB392_p0627b11身而去,徒手而行,將老人苦心基業一旦都拋,智不J37nB392_p0627b12及謀,勇不及奮。嗟乎已矣,又何言哉。惟是山場可棄,J37nB392_p0627b13塔院難捐。欲去則松楸無主,忍聽啼鴃山頭;欲留則J37nB392_p0627b14榱棟不存,難伴孤鴻月下。誠進退之維谷,並啼笑而J37nB392_p0627b15俱難。所朢於我同門諸友,道存傳拂,誼切同衣,應念J37nB392_p0627b16在原之急難,無忘將伯之助予。恩先人墾闢之勤,憤J37nB392_p0627b17彊徒侵凌之慘。一瓢一笠,冀隨野鶴飛來;千水千山,J37nB392_p0627b18豈被閒雲留住。諒有同心,無煩贅說。行將陳情瀝血,J37nB392_p0627b19鳴徹九閽;亦且罄竹揚波,播傳六宇。何忍懸燈之遽J37nB392_p0627b20滅,豈甘花雨之終湮。鯨吞既盡,即法座亦屬於他人;J37nB392_p0627b21蠶食何窮,恐扃泉莫保其抔土。興言及此,殊足寒心。J37nB392_p0627b22凡曰有懷,能無奮袂。所朢惠然來臨,萬勿漠爾慗置。
復雲間眾護法癸丑十月十五日
J37nB392_p0627b24一別三載,坐臥神馳;帶水盈盈,遙峰歷歷。輒隔知己J37nB392_p0627b25之話言,徒勤野人之寤想。時詢福履,用慰鄙衷。茲承J37nB392_p0627b26芳訊遠頒,敢不舉山中異事,敬陳左右。誠所謂禍出J37nB392_p0627b27非常,魔高千丈者也。王林憑恃凶威,鑽營捷徑,必欲J37nB392_p0627b28盡踞天下之名山,不遺人間之片土。嚮年垂涎龍池J37nB392_p0627b29而不得,孰意其處心積慮,耽耽於善權而不已也。誑J37nB392_p0627b30求當道,賄結吏胥,逼奪山門,驅逐僧眾,慘同破巢而J37nB392_p0627c01取卵,惡等禦人於國門。痛念先師一生艱苦,經營善J37nB392_p0627c02權,心力殫盡。墾荒田者百有餘畝,賠空糧者一十五J37nB392_p0627c03年。向之傾頹破碎者,為之塗且蔇矣;向之蕪沒荊榛J37nB392_p0627c04者,為之耕且普矣;向之逃亡逋負、纍纍官牒如山者,J37nB392_p0627c05為之剜肉醫瘡、東支西補,追呼無警,官民兩安矣。誰J37nB392_p0627c06為為之?皆先師一生艱苦,殫盡心力為之也。而今且J37nB392_p0627c07鵲巢鳩踞,張耕李餐矣。然此皆為世俗言之也。出家J37nB392_p0627c08衲子,本無所有,山河可捨,頭踵可捐,一切皆空,何貪J37nB392_p0627c09何戀?浮塵渺渺,何非駐錫之場?大地茫茫,豈無容缽J37nB392_p0627c10之處?身與閒雲而共住,心隨野鶴而俱飛,視彼血戰J37nB392_p0627c11千場,何啻空花一笑?所可恨者,先師自維揚西歸,九J37nB392_p0627c12載於茲,奉命建塔善權,蓋生平未盡之願力,欲待補J37nB392_p0627c13滿於將來也。故操雖退院讓山,明勢力之不敵,而修J37nB392_p0627c14塋守塔,則生死以之。假令狼心復逞,鴆毒彌深,侵及J37nB392_p0627c15幽宮,讎加枯骨,操雖至弱至孱,無才無力,亦必張空J37nB392_p0627c16拳而冒白刃,奮螳臂以當巨輪。堂堂官宰,赫赫上臺,J37nB392_p0627c17豈容白日青天之下,有此窮凶極惡之人?或遇廉明J37nB392_p0627c18執法,獲申冤慘覆盆,未可知也。聊抒積悃,以答來鴻。J37nB392_p0627c19容俟飄搖稍定,彊暴稍寧,更圖良晤,再罄餘言。

J37nB392_p0627c21逕啟善權之事,灰飛瓦裂,一至於此。恐法座在遠,往J37nB392_p0627c22來傳聞之語,未得其實,故敢披陳左右,以為一笑。善J37nB392_p0627c23權之有陳祠,由宋朝撫幹公捐貲入寺,買田常住,歿J37nB392_p0627c24後立檀越木主於寺側,每年忌日一祭,雖覺於叢林J37nB392_p0627c25之體有礙,而相沿至今,多歷年所,其勢固難以猝革。J37nB392_p0627c26故老人在日,只禁其葷酒雜沓,酣酗流連,自是僧俗J37nB392_p0627c27俱安,十有餘年矣。不意玉林攘奪之計已行,貪婪之J37nB392_p0627c28心無厭,鵲巢彊踞,既操同室之戈矛,臥榻安眠,豈容J37nB392_p0627c29他人之鼾睡?遂以吞占僧堂道院之故智,復施之於J37nB392_p0627c30陳祠,百計多方,令其折毀,以詐誘之而不得,以勢壓J37nB392_p0628a01之而不從。乃於九月十八日者,乘其忌日公祭,通族J37nB392_p0628a02之耆長,咸萃於祠,揖拜未終,拳棍猝發,陳氏之眾,披J37nB392_p0628a03靡而遁,遂乃焚其主,撤其宇,棟牖垣牆,頃刻而盡。於J37nB392_p0628a04是陳氏之眾,人懷義憤之心,家有報仇之志,不呼而J37nB392_p0628a05集,不約而同,霜戈齊奮,烈燄遄飛,既僧俗而兩傷,復J37nB392_p0628a06殿宇之俱燬。吁!可哀矣!尚何言哉?善權之大殿重建J37nB392_p0628a07於唐之大中,陳氏之木主始立於宋之嘉定,歷寒暑J37nB392_p0628a08而無遷,閱滄桑而不改,至此而俱付一炬,同為瓦礫,J37nB392_p0628a09悠悠蒼天,此何人哉?迴思去年攫奪之時,勢燄熏天,J37nB392_p0628a10英雄蓋世,大地河山盡歸其掌握,百千萬億莫遺於J37nB392_p0628a11錙銖,法堂鐘鼓變成戰鬥之聲,獅象山門視為篋囊J37nB392_p0628a12之物,今安在哉?亦可媿矣!雖然,彊徒之自作自受既J37nB392_p0628a13惹孽火以燒身,吾輩之旁觀猛省亦如冷水之澆背,J37nB392_p0628a14試看昔日之峨宮大剎、今日之敗壁頹牆也,昔日之J37nB392_p0628a15瞋目張拳、今日之焦頭爛額也,昔日之鯨吞虎噬、滔J37nB392_p0628a16天燎原、今日之斷煙荒艸、幻影空花也,言念及此,惟J37nB392_p0628a17有戢足深山、藏形窮谷,豈可復與彊梁之輩角逐於J37nB392_p0628a18血肉之場、貪癡之人較計於沙塵之末?此不肖之所J37nB392_p0628a19以棄道場而不顧、委塔院而弗爭,未必非止亂禦暴J37nB392_p0628a20之良術也。時因便郵,率此陳佈,仰祈高座勿吝惠音。
辭荊谿眾護法乙卯正月初十日
J37nB392_p0628a22貧衲自前年九月受彊暴之侵凌,遭兇魔之迫脅,漫J37nB392_p0628a23云操戈於同室,實類禦人於國門。彼以爭鬥而來,我J37nB392_p0628a24以退讓而去,山門法座竟屬他人,方丈蒲團忽焉易J37nB392_p0628a25主,此乃塵劫之稀聞,抑亦叢林之刱見者也。所可幸J37nB392_p0628a26者,先師數年之拮据,尚留有待於將來;貧衲三載之J37nB392_p0628a27修持,可告無罪於大眾。攜瓢獨往,心隨秋水同清;振J37nB392_p0628a28錫重來,跡共白雲俱遠。江湖空闊,容鷗鷺之飛翔;林J37nB392_p0628a29壑幽深,任鷦鷯之棲息。跳出是非之海,移來安樂之J37nB392_p0628a30窩,聊寄北郭一枝,即仝西方淨土。谿聲山色,觸目如J37nB392_p0628b01新;鳥語花香,依然似舊。笑彼癡愚攫奪,自云萬祀千J37nB392_p0628b02秋,誰知轉盼之間,已有灰燼之事。金戈鐵馬,不聞法J37nB392_p0628b03堂鐘鼓之聲;冷火寒煙,豈睹蘭若樓臺之影?黑燄熏J37nB392_p0628b04天,昔日之貪嗔何在?枯骸蔽地,今朝之寂滅誰憐?始J37nB392_p0628b05於爭奪者,終於焚殺;始於攘臂者,終於挺刃;始於一J37nB392_p0628b06念之燄者,終於燎原之火。非獨人事之必然,抑亦天J37nB392_p0628b07道之無爽,何意斯人乃昧茲理?彼雖身致其殃,吾實J37nB392_p0628b08代為之媿。痛念幡幢片席,戈矛遽至於斯;靜思衣缽J37nB392_p0628b09同源,狐兔悲何能已?所以遙瞻遺剎,每惆恨而不前;J37nB392_p0628b10回朢故山,輒踟躕而卻步者也。茲承各位大檀越、地J37nB392_p0628b11方諸善信,憫千年之香火無依,喜一日之煙塵乍息,J37nB392_p0628b12還推貧衲復住善權,此皆護法之虔誠,亦是空王之J37nB392_p0628b13默佑。但在某千遍圖維,萬難如命者,孤飛野鶴,安能J37nB392_p0628b14再入攫食之場?出岫閒雲,豈可重游湯鑊之內?況乃J37nB392_p0628b15頹垣碎瓦,殊難佈地而成金;敗壟荒畦,豈易鋤雲而J37nB392_p0628b16種木?龕燈夜火,何堪遍照宵燐?山舍空廚,豈足散施J37nB392_p0628b17饑雀?在昔日補殘葺敝,尚未臻厥成;至今日舍舊圖J37nB392_p0628b18新,應更難為力。伏冀大檀越克成善果,廣求善知識J37nB392_p0628b19弘啟道場,將見山頭柏影依舊凌霄,洞口泉流仍前J37nB392_p0628b20戛玉,香臺嚴麗,琳宇輝煌,庶幾法輪不墜,人天交慶J37nB392_p0628b21於無疆;蓮座常明,道俗群歸於有象。在貧衲私心克J37nB392_p0628b22慰,彌切瞻依;即先師願力終成,何勝忻荷云云。

J37nB392_p0628b24善權一席,自老人駐錫以來,十有餘年矣。拮据維艱,J37nB392_p0628b25補葺稍就,其未完之願力,實有待於繼續者也。乃存J37nB392_p0628b26公嗣登法座,遽爾西歸;貫兄再繼禪林,翩然遐棄。由J37nB392_p0628b27是眾檀共推,不肖黽勉從事,庶無隕越以遺羞;競業J37nB392_p0628b28自持,敢謂恢弘於前烈?奈何道未高也,魔已隨之;鵲J37nB392_p0628b29有巢乎,鳩將踞之。彼王林者,騁狼心於一往,營兔窟J37nB392_p0628b30於多方,謬云清淨,實行攫奪之謀;罔曰尊卑,竟恣彊J37nB392_p0628c01僭之術。獅王象祖,幻成鐵馬金戈;貝葉蓮華,翻作刀J37nB392_p0628c02峰劍嶺。不肖自愧疏庸,殊慚蹇劣,固應避此兇鋒,豈J37nB392_p0628c03可攖其毒燄?抴笻而去,鷦鷯自寄於一枝;掉臂而行,J37nB392_p0628c04鴻鵠已翔於千仞。曾幾何時,天暴其跡,正云孽自己J37nB392_p0628c05作,妖由人興,嗟何及矣,謂之何哉!所可惜者,千年之J37nB392_p0628c06棟宇倏爾無存,百代之祖庭渺焉何託?茲者,風波梢J37nB392_p0628c07息,灰燼方除,郡邑紳耆朢幡幢而遐跂,往來知識瞻J37nB392_p0628c08檜柏而長嗟,謂頹垣碎瓦之餘猶可重興蘭若,思冷J37nB392_p0628c09火寒煙之後何難復睹香臺?瑤函累牘,寶札連篇,挽J37nB392_p0628c10出岫之孤雲,返故山而再住,雖眾信之虔誠,實萬難J37nB392_p0628c11如命者。然念先人之餘願未終,禮菴之工程甫訖,聽J37nB392_p0628c12山頭之啼鴃,豈甘華雨久湮?顧洞口之流泉,何忍法J37nB392_p0628c13輪常墜?必有高賢克成弘願,自非碩德曷濟艱屯?恭J37nB392_p0628c14惟某老大師修持有本,法力無涯,誼均同缽,能無水J37nB392_p0628c15源木本之思?朢重諸山,可堪起獘扶衰之任?仰冀大J37nB392_p0628c16慈,俯從群請,惠然肯來,快睹人天之有主,不我遐棄,J37nB392_p0628c17忻逢道俗之攸歸。三華四樹常瞻高座於人寰,萬嶂J37nB392_p0628c18千巒豈阻孤笻於天末?將見翠樓紺殿法鼓重新,白J37nB392_p0628c19石流泉松風似舊,此誠無量之善緣,莫負群情之切J37nB392_p0628c20朢,不獨慰遺構之有成,亦且慶傳燈之弗墜。
與明因眾大師
J37nB392_p0628c22顯聖為曹洞滴宗、祖庭為規矩所自出,非如草菴木J37nB392_p0628c23主易僧更派、換主遷宗者比也。若乃祖堂牌位為左J37nB392_p0628c24右昭穆、住持先後所自定,百世不祧、千傳無改,孝子J37nB392_p0628c25順孫莫敢擅便,爰是住持有住持位、外剎有外剎位,J37nB392_p0628c26何乃顯聖竟將一不住持之牌位混入於住持位中?J37nB392_p0628c27此古所未有而今刱見者也。據云:明因牌位係西遯J37nB392_p0628c28居士為令師謀住,顯聖有礙,不得已而以牌位插入J37nB392_p0628c29於中,為一時之掩飾。其說妄也。且明因牌位,愚菴老J37nB392_p0628c30人主法時送入,上無住持二字,愚菴亦不送入住持J37nB392_p0629a01位中,何待愚菴示寂後煩西遯送入住持位中?非惟J37nB392_p0629a02不能與明因增光,適足以取辱明因耳,萬萬無是理J37nB392_p0629a03也。厥後住持四易,未聞有異議。至俍和尚鼎新祖堂,J37nB392_p0629a04勒有貞玟,不住持者只許供傍楹,碑文俱在,其可忽J37nB392_p0629a05諸?是明因牌位斷無混入住持之理也明矣。承諸位J37nB392_p0629a06力,移於旁楹以息眾議,明因一枝殊堪慶幸,俾死者J37nB392_p0629a07得妥於九泉、生者得沾恩於一面,窮於法者俾通於J37nB392_p0629a08法。法門護法公其人也,恐我回弁山後,或輕信誘言,J37nB392_p0629a09復搖牌位,混亂紀綱,諸山共舉問罪之籌,齊集祖庭J37nB392_p0629a10之內,有累令師,難幬眾位。幸熟思之,慎毋輕動。
與善權主人
J37nB392_p0629a12昨有禪者忽來告假,某詢其故,則云:有要移老師靈J37nB392_p0629a13骨過嶺建塔,又要拆庵赴彼,故預為之計。某以茲事J37nB392_p0629a14非可懸論,建塔之舉固將計日而成功,出菴之圖何J37nB392_p0629a15事朢風而退避?用敢披陳本末,仰瀆左右者。某自辛J37nB392_p0629a16亥應請善權,即為老師擇地買山,開基建塔,此雖弟J37nB392_p0629a17子之恆職,抑亦老師之遺命也。老師臨終諄諭,每在J37nB392_p0629a18善權一片石,但使窀穸無虞,松楸在朢,則繼嗣者之J37nB392_p0629a19心可以無憾,而老師之志亦可以少慰矣。然風水之J37nB392_p0629a20吉凶,蓍龜之從違,眾論之僉同與否,固未暇深計也。J37nB392_p0629a21其時屢呼將伯,未聞慷慨而助予,▆念同門,疇能黽J37nB392_p0629a22勉以從事?同衣之來者不過九人,捐貲相助者四十J37nB392_p0629a23餘兩,餘皆親知告貸,那東補西?尺籍具存,片言無誑,J37nB392_p0629a24況乃凶魔突起,致使善權一席委於荊榛瓦礫之中,J37nB392_p0629a25而靈塔巋然無恙,非獨老師陰持默佑,抑亦善神有J37nB392_p0629a26以保護於無窮也。至於禮菴之建,一椽半甓,粒米銖J37nB392_p0629a27金,從未有樂助之眾。在家之祖業,變賣湊用者有之;J37nB392_p0629a28數載之拮据,木頭竹屑者有之。今欲別營塔石,遷移J37nB392_p0629a29靈骨者,不可謂非純孝心腸,菩薩願力。嗟乎!人之欲J37nB392_p0629a30善,誰不如我?我以福薄才疏,營建未能竣事,奉祀未J37nB392_p0629b01能盡誠,方在夙夜疚心之際,他人有能代終厥事者,J37nB392_p0629b02在某亦可以少逭其辜也。但前此之勞,吾實勞之;前J37nB392_p0629b03此之費,吾實費之。今既廢而不用,舍而他圖,某當措J37nB392_p0629b04處來金,奉還原助,則塔菴之一石一木,皆我之所自J37nB392_p0629b05為之,他人無預也。俾得二三知己,悠游率歲於其間,J37nB392_p0629b06而禪者何必去,我亦何必留哉?統祈上裁,佇聽垂示。
請北溟大師
