J40nB474_p0030b05康熙十三年孟冬月十五日,上堂。拈疏示眾云:「前三J40nB474_p0030b06後三,佛祖根源,文彩已彰,重重漏泄。如或未然,卻請J40nB474_p0030b07維那對眾敷揚。」宣畢,以拄杖指法座云:「拈起須彌椎,J40nB474_p0030b08打破虛空鼓,盤山親點頭,大地無寸土。」喝一喝,遂陞。J40nB474_p0030b09拈香祝聖畢,又拈香云:「此一瓣香,諸佛搆不著,祖師J40nB474_p0030b10提不起,不隔一纖毫,當陽須薦取,第五回拈出,爇向J40nB474_p0030b11爐中,奉為先師大博和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」斂衣就座。J40nB474_p0030b12維那白椎畢,師云:「垂鉤四海,只釣錦鱗,還有衝浪金J40nB474_p0030b13鱗麼?出水相見。」僧問:「舊店新開事如何?」師云:「廣招賓J40nB474_p0030b14客往。」進云:「或有客來,如何接待?」師云:「棒頭取證。」進云:J40nB474_p0030b15「離苦得樂事如何?」師云:「一場懡㦬。」乃云:「松風搖般若,J40nB474_p0030b16啼鳥弄玄音,盡是西來意,時人不認真。」舉拄杖云:「是J40nB474_p0030b17不是?相不相?盤山有則公案,諸人未曾判斷,不是鎮J40nB474_p0030b18州蘿蔔,亦非青州布衫。」舉拂子云:「惟有這箇,高聳人J40nB474_p0030b19天,千聖拱手,萬象伏降;有時遇賤則貴,有時遇貴則J40nB474_p0030b20賤;拈起群魔惱裂,放下諸聖同原。且道拈起好?放下J40nB474_p0030b21好?」喝一喝:「遮藏猶恐人瞧見,只怕東風泄淈香。」結槌J40nB474_p0030b22畢,卓拄杖,下座。
J40nB474_p0030b23入院,上堂。師云:「叢林依舊是叢林,五花緣會五花藂,J40nB474_p0030b24盤山欲得興隆日,捲簾方見月明中。所以,孤樹不成J40nB474_p0030b25林,孤掌不浪鳴。建法幢,立宗旨,仰憑大眾,大家努力,J40nB474_p0030b26輔弼門庭。馬祖禪堂,百丈清規,禪家規範,須用鉗錘,J40nB474_p0030b27單提正令,佛祖不立,道雖不行,法亦難息。眾位弟兄、J40nB474_p0030b28本山耆舊、兩序大眾恭請山僧陞座,經管常住,擔荷J40nB474_p0030b29門庭,開鑿人天眼目,接物利生,以何為證聻?」舉拄杖,J40nB474_p0030b30云:「向這裏把得定、作得主,隨緣放曠,任運縱橫;豎說J40nB474_p0030c01橫說,出門合轍;橫拈豎拈,左右逢原;家無二主,國無J40nB474_p0030c02二王。既然如是,且道承誰恩力?」喝一喝,云:「全憑一句J40nB474_p0030c03無私語,耀古騰今遍九垓。」下座。
J40nB474_p0030c04京都佛弟子性智辦合山齋,請上堂。僧問:「打破生死J40nB474_p0030c05關,不受閻君氣。如何是打破生死關意旨?」師云:「透過J40nB474_p0030c06龜毛徑,方知狹路長。」僧便喝,師云:「這一喝是第幾機?」J40nB474_p0030c07進云:「覿面相呈。」師云:「鸞鳴鳳舞後,依舊夕陽斜。」乃云:J40nB474_p0030c08「昨夜西風自翛然,半輪明月映秋江,山河大地談般J40nB474_p0030c09若,澗下林泉演妙玄。所以道,釋家老子四十九年談J40nB474_p0030c10空說有、廣演三乘,達磨西來、面壁九載、不立文字、密J40nB474_p0030c11傳底事。山僧即不然。欲說,搖唇動舌;不說,諸人罔措。J40nB474_p0030c12且道:說好?不說好聻?」舉拄杖,云:「向這裏領略得去,如J40nB474_p0030c13龍得水,似虎靠山;干木隨身,逢場作戲;種瓜得瓜,種J40nB474_p0030c14豆得豆;求福得福,求壽得壽;齋僧功德,毫無滲漏。既J40nB474_p0030c15然如是,親切一句作麼生道?」良久,云:「知音不在千鍾J40nB474_p0030c16酒,一盞清茶也醉人。」下座。
J40nB474_p0030c17豐潤縣趙近池領眾請上堂。乃云:「綠柏青松非外境,J40nB474_p0030c18清風明月露全真,頭頭盡是西來意,信手拈來不是J40nB474_p0030c19塵。吟風弄月平常事,喫飯穿衣更最親,佛法事法成J40nB474_p0030c20一片,步步元來總家珍。」舉:「趙州因僧問:『十二時中如J40nB474_p0030c21何用心?』州云:『汝被十二時辰使,老僧使得十二時。』乃J40nB474_p0030c22云:『兄弟莫久立,有事商量,無事向衣缽下坐窮理好。J40nB474_p0030c23老僧行腳時,除二時粥飯是雜用心處,除外,更無別J40nB474_p0030c24用心處。若不如是,大遠在。』且道大眾還識趙州老漢J40nB474_p0030c25恁麼說話?如或未然,復聽盤山頌出:十二時中何用J40nB474_p0030c26心?晨鐘暮鼓自分明,鬧中喜氣誰人曉,一段風流畫J40nB474_p0030c27不成。」下座。
J40nB474_p0030c28臘月八日,上堂。乃云:「今朝臘月八,衲僧披袈裟。彌勒J40nB474_p0030c29未出世,成道於釋迦。雪山六年脩苦行,夜睹明星悟J40nB474_p0030c30心花。談空說有四十九,《阿含》十二方等八。《華嚴》最初J40nB474_p0031a01三七日,二十二年《般若》談。《法華》、《涅槃》共八載,末後拈J40nB474_p0031a02花傳佛法。且道傳底是什麼法?」舉拂子,云:「將此身心J40nB474_p0031a03奉塵剎,是則名為報佛恩。」卓拄杖,下座。
J40nB474_p0031a04歲旦,上堂。僧問:「三陽開泰,萬物咸新,如何是咸新意J40nB474_p0031a05旨?」師云:「暖趁梅花香裏到。」進云:「乾坤生寶色,宇宙盡J40nB474_p0031a06春光。」師云:「寒隨竹爆嚮中出。」曰:「是何人境界?」師云:「埜J40nB474_p0031a07老謳歌賀太平。」問:「瞻之在前,忽焉在後,是何意旨?」師J40nB474_p0031a08云:「截斷兩頭中間看。」進云:「非有非無,如何保任?」師打,J40nB474_p0031a09云:「向這裏會去。」乃云:「一年又一年,人間歲月遷,衲僧J40nB474_p0031a10無可據,家家貼紙錢。老翁點頭辭舊歲,孩童拍手賀J40nB474_p0031a11新年,惟有山僧不恁麼,飢來喫飯困來眠,有人更問J40nB474_p0031a12山中事,白雲依舊覆青山。」卓拄杖,下座。
J40nB474_p0031a13解制,上堂。「盤山惟養一群牛,頭角分明觸處周,四野J40nB474_p0031a14草青隨處放,收來放去得自由。有時高高山頂臥,有J40nB474_p0031a15時深深海底游,忽然曳斷鼻頭繩,毘盧頂上任悠悠。J40nB474_p0031a16雖然如是,且莫犯人苗稼。」
J40nB474_p0031a17一和尚、佛和尚請上堂。「山岌岌,水潺潺,野草閑花盡J40nB474_p0031a18春光,落花流水明祖意,報與諸人仔細參。這段風光J40nB474_p0031a19如錦繡,等閒不與世人看,有人更問參禪事,此去西J40nB474_p0031a20方萬八千。今日承二位和尚邀請,眾位兄弟飛錫入J40nB474_p0031a21山,法駕親臨,光降祖庭,與大眾辦齋,請山僧陞座,說J40nB474_p0031a22幾句法語,與大眾解黏去縛。到這裏直得無言可說,J40nB474_p0031a23無理可伸,不免將錯就錯。」舉:「世尊因文殊在門外立,J40nB474_p0031a24世尊云:『文殊,文殊,何不進門來?』殊云:『門外不見一法,J40nB474_p0031a25以何教我進門?』且道這二老漢還有優劣也無?大眾J40nB474_p0031a26若檢點得出,許你參學事畢;如或未然,復聽盤山頌J40nB474_p0031a27出:元來二老是作家,慣弄瑤琴與琵琶,更問諸人誰J40nB474_p0031a28解聽,清音歷歷遍天涯。」
J40nB474_p0031a29灤州諸山禪師請上堂。乃云:「盤山有一話頭,遍滿四J40nB474_p0031a30大部洲,若作佛法商量,猶是認影迷頭。心外別無法,J40nB474_p0031b01法外別無心,隨緣且度日,到岸不迷津。開口全體現,J40nB474_p0031b02無言露半身,悶看白雲散,閒觀水月明。若問箇中事,J40nB474_p0031b03鳥語報知音。」良久,云:「昨夜風吹黃葉落,石筍抽條竹J40nB474_p0031b04更青。」
J40nB474_p0031b05遵化縣普門座主請上堂。乃云:「描不成,畫不就,一段J40nB474_p0031b06風流如錦繡,等閒不與世人看,逢人爭敢機泄漏?所J40nB474_p0031b07以道,相識滿天下,知心有幾人?海枯須見底,人死不J40nB474_p0031b08知心。且道還有識底心得麼?」舉拄杖,云:「莫道無心云J40nB474_p0031b09是道,無心又隔一重關。」舉:「世尊初生,一手指天,一手J40nB474_p0031b10指地,周行七步,目顧四方,云:『天上天下,吾為獨尊。』後J40nB474_p0031b11雲門云:『我當時若見,一棒打殺與狗子喫,貴圖天下J40nB474_p0031b12太平。』」師云:「雲門老漢雖是出語驚人,檢點將來也是J40nB474_p0031b13賊過張弓。盤山即不然,正好供養。」
J40nB474_p0031b14高明杲請上堂。僧問:「人人有條無生路,如何尋不著?」J40nB474_p0031b15師云:「只是不唧溜。」進云:「箇箇參禪悟道,悟的是何物?」J40nB474_p0031b16師云:「疑殺闍黎。」師打,乃云:「一年之首,四時之功,三陽J40nB474_p0031b17開泰,萬物咸新。楊柳綠,桃花紅,明明祖師意,明明古J40nB474_p0031b18佛心,山河並大地,草木及叢林,頭頭非外物,處處現J40nB474_p0031b19全身。然雖如是,只如更新一句作麼生道?拄杖頭邊J40nB474_p0031b20春色曉,撥轉陽回萬物新。」
J40nB474_p0031b21當晚,小參:「既學此道,欲明明德,金不博金,水不洗水,J40nB474_p0031b22心外求道,實無所得。」舉拂子,云:「若識的這箇,便知牟J40nB474_p0031b23尼不在西天,仲尼不居東魯。有人識得心,大地無寸J40nB474_p0031b24土,不說趙州無,不道雲門普,象骨會輥毬,禾山解打J40nB474_p0031b25鼓,從前絡索都丟下,斬新條令從頭數,九九八十一,J40nB474_p0031b26五九四十五。」召大眾,云:「還會麼?鱉鼻吞毒蛇,大蟲咬J40nB474_p0031b27殺虎。」
J40nB474_p0031b28小參:「參須實參,悟須實悟。如今有一等禪和子,做工J40nB474_p0031b29夫未曾透徹,嘴吧吧的滿口說禪,不知禪是何物,非J40nB474_p0031b30但瞞人,亦瞞自己,後有大▆在。」
法通首座寮法語
J40nB474_p0031c02秉拂。乃云:「截斷千差路,坐卻是非關,凡聖不同風,了J40nB474_p0031c03然絕消息。到這裏,若有祖師西來意,和泥合水;若無J40nB474_p0031c04祖師西來意,合水和泥。檢點將來,覿面相謾去也。會J40nB474_p0031c05中可有不受人謾者麼?出來試露箇消息看。」眾無語。J40nB474_p0031c06「既然未會,與諸兄弟道破去也。」舉拂子,云:「盡在箇裏,J40nB474_p0031c07休向外尋。若向這裏承當得去,只教拈一莖草作丈J40nB474_p0031c08六金身,將丈六金身作一莖草用;指露柱作燈籠,將J40nB474_p0031c09燈籠作露柱用,不為希罕。把住放行且置,只如正當J40nB474_p0031c10恁麼時一句作麼生道?如王寶劍隨王意,揮斥縱橫J40nB474_p0031c11得自由。」
J40nB474_p0031c12秉拂。僧問:「即心即佛即不問,非心非佛事如何?」師喝,J40nB474_p0031c13進云:「即此用,離此用,又作麼生?」師復喝,進云:「恁麼則J40nB474_p0031c14隨波逐浪去也。」師云:「你又在什麼處安身?」僧亦喝,師J40nB474_p0031c15云:「這一喝落在什麼處?」僧無語,師云:「無主孤魂。」便打,J40nB474_p0031c16乃云:「天不能蓋,地不能載,風不能吹,日不能晒,八面J40nB474_p0031c17玲瓏,縱橫自在,亙古亙今,無變無壞。既然如是,釋迦J40nB474_p0031c18老子未離兜率,已降皇宮;未出母胎,度人已畢。且道J40nB474_p0031c19諸人還知這箇消息也無?若道無,人人具足,箇箇圓J40nB474_p0031c20成;若道有,即今又在什麼處?還會麼?其或未然,更與J40nB474_p0031c21通箇消息去也。佛祖機關窮徹底,白雲深處不藏身。」
J40nB474_p0031c22秉拂。乃云:「若論此事,本無言說;但有言說,都無實義。J40nB474_p0031c23三世諸佛到這裏,只得嘴挂壁上,歷代祖師不敢正J40nB474_p0031c24視,即今教山僧說箇什麼即得?若道箇山是山、水是J40nB474_p0031c25水、僧是僧、俗是俗,未免埋沒後人;若道山不是山、水J40nB474_p0031c26不是水、僧不是僧、俗不是俗,又生鈍置後人。到這裏J40nB474_p0031c27還有出得此圈圚者麼?若出得此圈圚,許爾參學事J40nB474_p0031c28畢;其或未然,更與你打葛藤去也。」復舉:「白侍郎問鳥J40nB474_p0031c29窠:『如何是佛法大意?』窠曰:『諸惡莫作,眾善奉行。』侍郎J40nB474_p0031c30曰:『三歲孩童也解恁麼道。』窠云:『三歲孩童雖然道得,J40nB474_p0032a01八十老翁行不得。』」師云:「侍郎好肉剜瘡,鳥窠無夢說J40nB474_p0032a02夢。雖然如是,且道:侍郎還識鳥窠意旨麼?鴛鴦繡出J40nB474_p0032a03從君看,不把金針度與人。」
入室機緣
J40nB474_p0032a05僧入,師問:「水牯牛過窗櫺,頭角都過去,為什麼尾擺J40nB474_p0032a06過不去?」僧喝,云:「過也。」師云:「未得徹頭徹尾。」便打。
J40nB474_p0032a07僧入,師問:「如何是西來大意?」僧便喝,師云:「這一喝落J40nB474_p0032a08在什麼處?」僧復喝,師便打,僧禮拜。
J40nB474_p0032a09僧入,師問:「不得有語,不得無語。速道,速道。」僧展兩手,J40nB474_p0032a10師云:「這是有語?是無語?」僧擬議,師便打。
J40nB474_p0032a11僧入,師問:「萬法皈一,一歸何處?」僧云:「皈於自性。」師云:J40nB474_p0032a12「喚什麼作自性?」僧無語,師打出。
J40nB474_p0032a13僧入,師問:「道得也打,道不得也打,你作麼生會?」僧云:J40nB474_p0032a14「求和尚慈悲。」師打,云:「痛痒也不識。」
J40nB474_p0032a15僧入,師問:「不與萬法為侶者是什麼人?」僧喝,師打,僧J40nB474_p0032a16禮拜。
J40nB474_p0032a17師云:「吾有一句,不容擬議。若道不識,打斷脊背。」一僧J40nB474_p0032a18喝,師便打。
J40nB474_p0032a19僧入,師問:「釋迦老子初生,一手指天,一手指地,是什J40nB474_p0032a20麼意旨?」僧云:「自性。」師云:「為什麼週行七步、目顧四方?」J40nB474_p0032a21僧云:「不知。」師云:「放過即不可。」便打。
J40nB474_p0032a22守心入,師云:「逐日守心,畢竟守的是那一箇心?」僧云:J40nB474_p0032a23「圓陀陀,光爍爍。」師云:「你那裏見得?」僧擬議,師打出。
J40nB474_p0032a24僧入,師問:「路逢達道人,不將語默對,將什麼對?」僧作J40nB474_p0032a25舞勢,師云:「如何是末後一句?」僧便休去。
J40nB474_p0032a26僧入,師問:「如何是本來面目?」僧云:「說話便是。」師云:「一J40nB474_p0032a27口氣不來,什麼處說話?」僧無語,師即打。
J40nB474_p0032a28僧入,師問:「世尊拈花,迦葉為什麼微笑?」僧云:「不知。」師J40nB474_p0032a29云:「鬼爭漆桶。」
J40nB474_p0032a30僧入,師問:「盡大地是箇火坑,你在什麼處安身?」僧喝,J40nB474_p0032b01師云:「這一喝是賓?是主?」僧禮拜,師即打出。

J40nB474_p0032b05僧問:「內不放出,外不放入,作麼生道?」師云:「你在什麼J40nB474_p0032b06處?」僧喝,師云:「這一喝落在什麼處?」僧擬議,師便打。
J40nB474_p0032b07僧問:「如何是學人本來面目?」師云:「啞子忍痛。」僧云:「一J40nB474_p0032b08口氣不來,落在什麼處?」師云:「澄水不離波。」僧禮拜。
J40nB474_p0032b09僧問:「不在內,不在外,不在中間,畢竟在什麼處?」師即J40nB474_p0032b10打,僧喝,師云:「再喝看。」僧復喝,師云:「一掉便上。」
J40nB474_p0032b11師問書記:「萬法皈一,一皈何處?」記云:「不知下落。」師云:J40nB474_p0032b12「摘佛子與我。」記摘拂子與師,師接拂子便打。
J40nB474_p0032b13僧問:「清淨本然,云何忽生山河大地?」師云:「你妄想作J40nB474_p0032b14甚麼?」
J40nB474_p0032b15僧問:「父母未生時如何?」師云:「赤條條的。」僧云:「父母已J40nB474_p0032b16生時如何?」師云:「兩耳垂肩。」僧云:「生與未生時如何?」師J40nB474_p0032b17云:「藏身露影。」
J40nB474_p0032b18僧問:「求師指示。」師云:「不指示你。」僧云:「為什麼不指示?」J40nB474_p0032b19師云:「水淺無魚,徒勞下釣。」
J40nB474_p0032b20師問自然禪人:「開口即錯,動手即失,你作麼生道?」然J40nB474_p0032b21翹腳,師云:「是驢腳?是馬腳?」然云:「請師會。」師便打。
J40nB474_p0032b22僧問:「狹路相逢事如何?」師云:「兩眼對兩眼。」僧云:「除卻,J40nB474_p0032b23請師別道一句。」師便打,僧云:「兩眼對兩眼。」師云:「眼光J40nB474_p0032b24落地又作麼生?」僧擬議,師復打。
J40nB474_p0032b25碧空禪人辭師去,師云:「四門閉塞,向什麼處去?道將J40nB474_p0032b26來即去,道不來不許去。」僧無語,師便打,僧復住。
J40nB474_p0032b27僧問:「求師指示。」師云:「你會喫飯麼?」僧云:「會喫飯。」師云:J40nB474_p0032b28「你作麼生喫?」僧無語,師便打出。
問答機緣
J40nB474_p0032b30大理寺卿張問:「堯、舜、禹、湯天下太平,佛為什麼不出J40nB474_p0032c01世?」師云:「君王有道三邊靜,何須萬里築長城?」卿曰:「周、J40nB474_p0032c02漢以來佛出世,為什麼不太平?」師云:「劍為不平離寶J40nB474_p0032c03匣,藥因救病出金瓶。」卿曰:「梁武帝好佛教,為什麼無J40nB474_p0032c04好報?」師云:「因果不昧。」卿曰:「佛教談空,儒教談實。」師云:J40nB474_p0032c05「空且止,如何是實?」卿無對,師云:「海神知貴不知價。」
J40nB474_p0032c06溫春元求師領教,師云:「將什麼所求?」元擬議,師云:「你J40nB474_p0032c07且看書去。」
J40nB474_p0032c08宋秀才求師指示,師云:「你讀那一經?」才云:「《易經》。」師云:J40nB474_p0032c09「《經》中道:『百姓日用而不知。』且道不知箇什麼?」才云:「不J40nB474_p0032c10知其道。」師云:「如何是道?」才無對,師云:「空讀一生書。」
J40nB474_p0032c11泉王訪師,相見,問:「世間一切都是虛,請問和尚那箇J40nB474_p0032c12是實的?」師良久,云:「王還會麼?」王云:「不會。」師云:「爭怪得J40nB474_p0032c13山僧?」
J40nB474_p0032c14王問:「和尚上堂,有人問:和尚喚作什麼?」師云:「不是凡,J40nB474_p0032c15不是聖。」王云:「畢竟喚作什麼即得?」師云:「正好疑著。」
J40nB474_p0032c16都院馮次見師,師云:「昨日相逢,今朝覿面事如何?」院J40nB474_p0032c17作禮,師云:「覿面且止,月落後那裏相會?」院轉身便休J40nB474_p0032c18去,師云:「恁麼去始得。」院復坐,師云:「你那裏得這箇消J40nB474_p0032c19息來?」院云:「憨僕和尚印證過。」師云:「蝦蟆為什麼落井?」J40nB474_p0032c20院云:「弟子不會。」師云:「憨僕始得,山僧未許你在。」
J40nB474_p0032c21皇姑同駙馬參師,師云:「此路難行,來為何事?」姑云:「為J40nB474_p0032c22佛法來。」師云:「將什麼作佛法?」姑同駙馬拜師為弟子,J40nB474_p0032c23求受三皈,師打一拄杖云:「且受這一皈。」
J40nB474_p0032c24李教授問:「做工夫從什麼處下手?」師云:「從問處下手。」J40nB474_p0032c25授云:「落在什麼處?」師云:「鳶飛戾天,魚躍於淵。」
J40nB474_p0032c26王問:「出家之人,明得理性,可以出家,不明理性,忠孝J40nB474_p0032c27兩失。」師云:「王那裏見得?」王云:「在家也有佛性麼?」師云:J40nB474_p0032c28「佛性本無僧俗男女。」王云:「誰教我信得極聻?」師云:「川J40nB474_p0032c29僧打銕鼓。」
J40nB474_p0032c30師問李知縣:「既為臣宰,將什麼進忠?」縣云:「不知。」師云:J40nB474_p0033a01「如何治國?」縣作禮。
J40nB474_p0033a02一儒童參師,師云:「尊姓?」童曰:「姓張。」師云:「非是常姓。」童J40nB474_p0033a03曰:「如何是常姓?」師云:「喫過茶向汝道。」喫茶畢,童曰:「請J40nB474_p0033a04和尚說與弟子。」師展兩手云:「向汝道箇什麼?」
J40nB474_p0033a05西天一羅漢來參師,師云:「汝從什麼處來?」羅漢瞪目J40nB474_p0033a06良久,云:「阿彌陀佛從甚處來?」師便打一柱杖,羅漢便J40nB474_p0033a07拜師為弟子,隨師同住,為侍者。
J40nB474_p0033a08劉秀才問:「如何是本來面目?」師云:「喜怒哀樂。」才云:「這J40nB474_p0033a09箇便是麼?」師云:「逢人莫要錯舉。」
J40nB474_p0033a10師問僧:「你是什麼號?」僧云:「實相。」師云:「那箇是你的實J40nB474_p0033a11相?」僧豎一拳,師云:「者箇是拳頭,畢竟那箇是實相?」僧J40nB474_p0033a12無語,師便打。

J40nB474_p0033a17除夕小參。乃云:「今朝臘月盡,魔君皆乞命,梅信報君J40nB474_p0033a18知,東君行正令。正令且止,今年常住空虛,將什麼與J40nB474_p0033a19大眾分歲聻?」分付典座:「泥牛合角煮,木馬戴毛烹,做J40nB474_p0033a20些無米飯,大眾過新春。雖然如是,應時應節一句作J40nB474_p0033a21麼生道?椒花餞臘去,爆竹待春來。」下座。
J40nB474_p0033a22示眾。云:「諸禪德,既要參禪,必須了脫生死大事,不是J40nB474_p0033a23說了便休,前輩老人大有樣子在。不見趙州,除二時J40nB474_p0033a24粥飯沒有雜用心處?長慶坐破七箇蒲團?豈不是謂J40nB474_p0033a25生死的樣子?且不可草草蔥蔥,但於三根椽下、七尺J40nB474_p0033a26單前,綿綿密密,朝究暮參,時刻莫放,如兩木相鑽,覓J40nB474_p0033a27火相似,忽然冷灰豆爆,桶子底脫,方知山河大地、明J40nB474_p0033a28暗色空,總是自己家珍,頭頭上明,物物上顯,更有什J40nB474_p0033a29麼生死去來之相?豈有分別者哉?雖然如是,須知男J40nB474_p0033a30兒自有沖天志,不向古人行處行。」
J40nB474_p0033b01示眾。云:「若欲學道,不在言說;但有言說,都無實義。古J40nB474_p0033b02人學道,有過則改;今人學道,自障其心,棄本逐求,認J40nB474_p0033b03假為真,不肯向自己腳跟下追求,只圖嘴吧吧的會J40nB474_p0033b04說,說到驢年,與自己分上毫沒交涉。江河無礙人之J40nB474_p0033b05心,佛祖無謾人之意,只是時人行不將去,故設方便,J40nB474_p0033b06誘引諸人,令其得入,各各識取本來面目。佛法別無J40nB474_p0033b07奇特,只要識得破、信得及。佛言:『信能遠離生死苦,信J40nB474_p0033b08能必到如來地。』且道:作麼生是如來地?咄!不是知音,J40nB474_p0033b09徒勞側耳。」
J40nB474_p0033b10示眾。云:「最初學道者,不遇明眼宗師指點,自家一味J40nB474_p0033b11杜撰,將古人殘茶剩飯念上幾篇,蘊在胸中,不肯放J40nB474_p0033b12捨,又不知是病,便說我知我見佛法元是者箇道理,J40nB474_p0033b13當作脩行,迷之遠矣。及乎遇著明眼人一拶,面紅齒J40nB474_p0033b14白,眼似流星,只落得一場氣悶,又不肯親近善知識,J40nB474_p0033b15反生我慢,如是之流,燋芽敗種,難可救療。若是真實J40nB474_p0033b16學道之士,與他人不同,發勇猛心、具堅固志,如須彌J40nB474_p0033b17山相似一般,一切邪風搖撼不動,單提自己本參話J40nB474_p0033b18頭,勿論結制、解制,閑時、忙時,極力參究,時刻不放,左J40nB474_p0033b19拶、右拶,拶到水窮山盡,皮骨粉碎,忽然全身突露,當J40nB474_p0033b20下了然,方知三世諸佛根源,歷代祖師落處。然雖如J40nB474_p0033b21是,還有知落處者麼?」良久,云:「千山勢倒嶽邊止,萬派J40nB474_p0033b22聲皈海上消。」
J40nB474_p0033b23七中示眾。云:「鐵樹開花,石上長藕,虛空點頭,佛殿倒J40nB474_p0033b24走。此四句有一句,有體有用,有擒有縱,向這裏緇素J40nB474_p0033b25分明,許汝參學事畢;其或未然,且向燈影下打瞌睡。」J40nB474_p0033b26高居士請師示眾。云:「諸禪德!既然出家學道,須會得J40nB474_p0033b27佛祖意始得。若會得佛祖意,勿論僧俗男女、貧富貴J40nB474_p0033b28賤,隨豐家儉,安樂度日;若不會得佛祖意,總讀三乘J40nB474_p0033b29十二分、鑽他故紙,與自己分上毫沒交涉。汝等諸人J40nB474_p0033b30各各腳根下有一段大事因緣,不費汝纖毫氣力,與J40nB474_p0033c01諸佛諸祖無異無別,只是汝等諸人信根狹劣,不肯J40nB474_p0033c02死心忘意。若是箇大丈夫漢,一刀兩段,立箇決定志,J40nB474_p0033c03自然有箇到家時也。豈不見長慶二十年間不明斯J40nB474_p0033c04事,一日捲簾忽然大悟,有偈云:『也大差,也大差,捲起J40nB474_p0033c05簾來見天下。有人問我解何宗?拈起拂子劈口打。』且J40nB474_p0033c06道長慶老漢見箇什麼道理便發言吐氣?還有識得J40nB474_p0033c07長慶落處麼?若識得長慶落處,便識得山僧落處;識J40nB474_p0033c08得山僧落處,便識得諸佛落處;識得諸佛落處,便識J40nB474_p0033c09得天下老和尚落處;識得天下老和尚落處,便識得J40nB474_p0033c10自己落處。會中還有識得自己落處者麼?」時有僧出J40nB474_p0033c11喝,師便打,僧復喝,師復打,僧退,師顧視左右喝一喝J40nB474_p0033c12云:「水向石邊流出冷,風從花裏過來香。」便下座。
J40nB474_p0033c13示眾。云:「汝等諸人既然參禪學道,須除卻執著妄想J40nB474_p0033c14之心。《圓覺經》云:『若諸眾生先除事障、未除理障,但能J40nB474_p0033c15悟入聲聞圓覺,未能顯住菩薩境界。』正此意也。故學J40nB474_p0033c16道者不明此理,所以不識心性之真,而執滯此理,未J40nB474_p0033c17免心性之礙,是心勉強行之。欲研無上菩提,洞明心J40nB474_p0033c18宗,即不可執滯此理。渡河須用筏,到岸不須舟。不但J40nB474_p0033c19釋教,儒教亦如是。只如顏回不遷怒、不貳過,即是除J40nB474_p0033c20事障也;至於如愚坐忘,即理障除矣。古人改過遷善,J40nB474_p0033c21以除事障,安能不思不勉以除理障哉?今人自障其J40nB474_p0033c22心,故不能達諸佛之本源。譬如昔者舜畜吠犬,朝暮J40nB474_p0033c23所見惟舜。一日,堯過而吠之,非是愛舜而惡堯也,正J40nB474_p0033c24是常見者惟舜而未見堯也。今時之人,事障、理障不J40nB474_p0033c25除,猶如舜犬之見也,慎之!慎之。」
J40nB474_p0033c26示眾。云:「一切佛法,惟在自心,心外求法,並無所得,縱J40nB474_p0033c27然多見多聞,皆是妄見情識,非是真實法也。生死情J40nB474_p0033c28妄,不從天降,不從地生,只因無始以來迷失本心,流J40nB474_p0033c29浪生死,至今不息,但要精進,降伏煩惱,貪、嗔、我慢、諂J40nB474_p0033c30曲、嫉妒,對境不生,將『四大分散時向何處安身立命』J40nB474_p0034a01話頭提起,默默參究,行住坐臥,於靜於鬧,不生厭倦,J40nB474_p0034a02工夫純熟,心花燦發,頭頭顯露,物物分明,出入合轍,J40nB474_p0034a03左右逢原,不假造作,本來現成,到此田地,方知道在J40nB474_p0034a04己求,不向他覓也。」
J40nB474_p0034a05示眾居士。「夫在家菩薩脩行,如火裏生蓮,爭名奪利,J40nB474_p0034a06意氣難調,何況火宅煩攪,種種牽纏?所以難得解脫。J40nB474_p0034a07除非大根大器之人,自己做的主宰,直下省悟,看破J40nB474_p0034a08凡情,一切放下,觀一切法如幻如夢,萬法皆空,隨時J40nB474_p0034a09消遣,與昔維摩詰、龐居士、裴相國、張無盡,豈不是在J40nB474_p0034a10家居士?了脫生死,同證無為,出生死海,得涅槃樂,豈J40nB474_p0034a11不快哉?法性場中本無僧俗男女等相,只要信得及、J40nB474_p0034a12放得下,子脫生死大事,不妨人間走一遭,莫要失卻J40nB474_p0034a13自己本也。」
開示
J40nB474_p0034a15若欲求出生死,必須參禪。既要參禪,則知生死根本。J40nB474_p0034a16想我從無量劫來,貪、嗔、嫉妒、貢高、我慢、妄見情識、逐J40nB474_p0034a17境漂流、六道輪迴、生死不斷,無了期。何故?蓋謂不識J40nB474_p0034a18本心、認賊為子、喚奴作郎,妄見六根、自成顛倒、攪亂J40nB474_p0034a19真常,如雲遮日,光不能現。若是有智之人,直下返照J40nB474_p0034a20回光,參尋自己,出離生死之苦。不然,一日無常到來,J40nB474_p0034a21閻羅老了,索取飯錢,將何抵對?諸仁者!既謂生死事J40nB474_p0034a22大,具真實心,發決定志,將生死二字貼在額頭上,朝J40nB474_p0034a23參暮究,勇猛精進,如一人與萬人敵相似:「我若不殺J40nB474_p0034a24他死,他必定殺我死。苟不拼命殺出,稍有遲緩,豈有J40nB474_p0034a25自活者哉?」我勸諸兄弟們,但於日用中剔眉豎目,看J40nB474_p0034a26箇「如何是我本來面目」話頭,亦不可有心求,亦不可J40nB474_p0034a27無心得,亦不得愁我根機淺薄、慮我業障深重,只管J40nB474_p0034a28向前做去,如貓捕鼠、似龍抱珠,日久歲深,忽然疑情J40nB474_p0034a29頓破,洞見本來當人,始知與天地同根、萬物一體,在J40nB474_p0034a30聖不增、在凡不滅,出世之閑人,豈不快哉?其或未然,J40nB474_p0034b01若生貪著其欲,便失人身,猶如舐鋒鋩之蜜,未免傷J40nB474_p0034b02舌之患,切宜戒之。
J40nB474_p0034b03十月十五日結制上堂。問:「結制開爐即不問,如何是J40nB474_p0034b04盤山境?」師云:「青松翠柏生峰頂。」進云:「如何是境中人?」J40nB474_p0034b05師云:「老僧看白雲。」進云:「客來如何接待?」師云:「饅頭任J40nB474_p0034b06意吞。」進云:「人境蒙師指,向上宗乘事如何?」師云:「如人J40nB474_p0034b07飲水,冷煖自知。」進云:「佛祖家風傳今古,怎奈時人不J40nB474_p0034b08解聞?」師云:「怪老僧不得。」進禮拜,師打,乃云:「佛祖相傳J40nB474_p0034b09不二門,萬象森羅一體同,普化搖鐸翻觔斗,豐干騎J40nB474_p0034b10虎下松門。趙州有語喫茶去,青州布衫重七斤,可笑J40nB474_p0034b11韓盧逐塊者,夜深無故吠虛空。盤山即不然。」喝一喝,J40nB474_p0034b12云:「師子林中師子吼,象王行處象王形。」卓拄杖,下座。
J40nB474_p0034b13顯如領眾居士請小參。乃云:「若論這一段大事因緣,J40nB474_p0034b14人人本具,個個不缺;祖師法同,佛佛道同;心即是法,J40nB474_p0034b15法即是心;心法不異,故名為佛。釋迦老子未離兜率,J40nB474_p0034b16已降皇宮;未出母胎,度人已畢。達磨西來,面壁九載,J40nB474_p0034b17嘴挂壁上,無得無說。且道還識這二老漢的消息麼?J40nB474_p0034b18知音不在頻頻舉,達者方知暗裏驚。昔龐居士云:『有J40nB474_p0034b19男不婚,有女不嫁,大家團戀頭,更說無生話。』有楊傑J40nB474_p0034b20居士云:『男大須婚,女大須嫁,討甚閑工夫,且說無生J40nB474_p0034b21話。』後有海月禪師云:『我也無有男婚,我也無有女嫁,J40nB474_p0034b22飢來吃飯困來眠,那管他無生話。』這三箇老漢雖然J40nB474_p0034b23一鼻孔出氣,各人作用不同,三箇老漢非等閒,手把J40nB474_p0034b24琵琶月下彈,雖然古調無音韻,贏得風光滿世間。」下J40nB474_p0034b25座。
J40nB474_p0034b26豐潤縣趙邦太領眾請上堂。乃云:「青山疊疊倚太虛,J40nB474_p0034b27綠水潺潺投澗溪,若欲會得箇中事,青山不斷白雲飛。J40nB474_p0034b28欲學佛祖道,須發上品心,有像皆無礙,無緣卻是真。J40nB474_p0034b29掀翻生死窟,獨露法王身,不挂絲毫相,光明貫古今。J40nB474_p0034b30會得箇中意,照用一齊行,千里總不識,佛祖也難明。J40nB474_p0034c01且道許什麼人明?」舉拂子,云:「向這裏如斯明得,鐵樹J40nB474_p0034c02開花,虛空落地,釋迦、彌勒親來侍立,出沒卷舒,任意J40nB474_p0034c03施為。既然如是,只如一句作麼生道?逐日盤山駕釣J40nB474_p0034c04舟,今朝鉤線一齊收。」曳拄杖,下座。
