敘
J40nB474_p0025a02吾邑境內無山川,而薊丘諸峰實為吾邑之J40nB474_p0025a03望,每於風月朝夕登皋北眺,若遠若近之間,J40nB474_p0025a04知其中有隱君子也,而高僧戒衲亦往往不J40nB474_p0025a05乏。予性耽煙霞,塵緣牽絆,未訪僊人之館,徒J40nB474_p0025a06迷採藥之蹤,為山靈之所笑者,已不知凡幾J40nB474_p0025a07矣。客有自盤山來者,置景物不道,弟相與咨J40nB474_p0025a08嗟,驚異所謂了宗禪師傳達磨之宗旨、演曹J40nB474_p0025a09溪之正脈,即世尊舉花、迦葉微笑、正法眼藏,J40nB474_p0025a10如斯而已矣。予聞而慕之,私度其彼其人當J40nB474_p0025a11為支遁、佛印諸公所不過,苟不能親炙耿光、J40nB474_p0025a12悟其玅諦,觀飛錫之凌雲、睹雨花之散漫,豈J40nB474_p0025a13非吾生之不幸也哉?蓋不僅游山之屐齒木J40nB474_p0025a14折,而風雨懷人中心藏之矣。疆圉大荒落之J40nB474_p0025a15歲,瑤侯杜君晤師於逆旅,解其囊,得語錄四J40nB474_p0025a16卷,歸而屬予一言以序其事。予不敏,何足以J40nB474_p0025a17知師?且師之言又奚藉於予而後傳也?然伏J40nB474_p0025a18而讀之,見其蘊蓄弘博,寄託微渺,茫乎不知J40nB474_p0025a19其畔岸而非遠,浩乎不知其津涯而非深,所J40nB474_p0025a20謂晰三教之大原而悟其一貫者耶?所謂包J40nB474_p0025a21兩儀、徹古今、靡不備具者耶?所謂一語耐人J40nB474_p0025b01百思、未易許躁心入問津者耶?用以指迷塗J40nB474_p0025b02而開聾瞶、贊揚教化、啟誘眾生,豈不重有賴J40nB474_p0025b03哉?吾師乎,吾師乎,當與此山共為不朽矣。

J40nB474_p0025b09余生平懶學參禪,客有以《壇J40nB474_p0025b10經》見示者,讀之唯唯,又以臨J40nB474_p0025b11濟、趙州語錄見示者,余讀之J40nB474_p0025b12亦唯唯,客曰:「先生默而識之J40nB474_p0025b13乎?何唯唯而已耶?」余亦唯唯。J40nB474_p0025b14既而盤山了宗禪師自大梁J40nB474_p0025b15北旋,投刺相晤,示以《語錄》,披J40nB474_p0025b16覽之餘,如朗月入懷,秋水澄J40nB474_p0025b17波,無纖毫塵土氣,又不拾古J40nB474_p0025c01人唾餘。余把翫不忍釋手,且J40nB474_p0025c02極口讚歎,因論及黃龍與純J40nB474_p0025c03陽言一粒粟中半升鐺內之J40nB474_p0025c04語,余謂此非有二義,純陽亦J40nB474_p0025c05不必見詘於黃龍也。了宗大J40nB474_p0025c06以為然,遂問敘於余。余儒者J40nB474_p0025c07也,於內典多有未諳,然觀《錄》J40nB474_p0025c08中所云:「顏回不遷怒、不貳過,J40nB474_p0025c09即是除事障也;至於如愚坐J40nB474_p0025c10忘,即理障除矣。」而又曰:「古人J40nB474_p0025c11改過遷善以除事障,安能不J40nB474_p0025c12思不勉以除理障哉?」如此妙J40nB474_p0025c13義,了宗不特精於禪,並精於J40nB474_p0025c14儒也。夫今人之心,不障於事,J40nB474_p0025c15即障於理,若去此二障,心如J40nB474_p0026a01朗月、如秋水,世途雖險,慾海J40nB474_p0026a02難染,何所沾染哉?此《語錄》所J40nB474_p0026a03以為人解粘去縛,迷津之寶J40nB474_p0026a04筏、渴喉之甘露也。客有在側J40nB474_p0026a05者,忽謂余曰:「先生昔何唯唯,J40nB474_p0026a06今何剌剌耶?」余亦听然而笑,J40nB474_p0026a07遂書之以弁其端。

J40nB474_p0026b02 J40nB474_p0026b03順治辛丑歲十月望日,灤州隆阭寺監院普光暨便J40nB474_p0026b04大護法高良富、眾檀越等恭請結制,上堂。至座前拈J40nB474_p0026b05疏云:「覿面相呈,更無餘事。獨露當陽,毫無隱匿。還會J40nB474_p0026b06麼?其或未然,卻請維那布露。」宣疏畢,以拄杖指座示:J40nB474_p0026b07「打碎虛空,喝散白雲。逢場作戲,干木隨身。」便登座。拈J40nB474_p0026b08香云:「此一瓣香,信手拈來,爇向爐中,端為祝延J40nB474_p0026b09今上皇帝聖躬萬歲,萬歲,萬萬歲! 伏願J40nB474_p0026b10堯風浩蕩,舜日騰輝,道泰時清,萬民樂業。此一瓣香,J40nB474_p0026b11奉為滿朝文武、闔國公卿及請主,恒聞般若之香,同J40nB474_p0026b12證金剛種智。此一瓣香,天不從降,地不從生,從無影J40nB474_p0026b13林中拈出,爇向爐中,端為供養中盤堂上傳曹溪正J40nB474_p0026b14脈第三十六代上大下博本師和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」J40nB474_p0026b15師斂衣就座。維那白槌云:「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」J40nB474_p0026b16師云:「展開爐韝,須用鉗鎚。煆鐵成鋼,煉凡成聖。還有J40nB474_p0026b17不懼鉗鎚者麼?出眾相見。」僧問:「如何是隆阭第一訣?」J40nB474_p0026b18師便打,進云:「謝和尚指示。」師云:「且莫錯承當。」問:「釋迦J40nB474_p0026b19老子末後拈花示眾,人天百萬為什麼不知?」師云:「怎J40nB474_p0026b20怪的老僧?」進云:「迦葉為什麼破顏微笑?」師云:「暗裏投J40nB474_p0026b21機。」進云:「恁麼則天上有星皆拱北,人間無水不朝東。」J40nB474_p0026b22師云:「家家門外長安路,箇中誰是知音人?」問:「如何是J40nB474_p0026b23西來大意?」師云:「風送斷雲歸嶺去,水流明月過橋來。」J40nB474_p0026b24進云:「水月澄清事如何?」師云:「月在什麼處?」僧擬議,師J40nB474_p0026b25便打,乃云:「開宗演教,建立法幢,接物利生,隨機應現,J40nB474_p0026b26橫拈倒用,左右逢原,擒縱殺活,有收有放。把住一絲,J40nB474_p0026b27黃金失色;放開一線,瓦礫生光。且道把住好?放行好?」J40nB474_p0026b28舉拄杖云:「向這裏撥開一線路,恁麼也得,不恁麼也J40nB474_p0026b29得,恁麼不恁麼總得,拈起一毫頭,現無邊剎海,百千J40nB474_p0026b30法門、無量妙義一時圓成。雖然如是,還有通得一線J40nB474_p0026c01路的麼?其或未然,山僧不惜唇皮,更與諸人下箇註J40nB474_p0026c02腳。」喝一喝云:「袖裏金鎚光燦爛,吹毛寶劍逼人寒。」卓J40nB474_p0026c03拄杖,下座。
J40nB474_p0026c04入院,上堂。僧問:「如何是第一義諦意旨?」師云:「大用現J40nB474_p0026c05前。」進轉身一匝。師云:「這是風力所轉,終成敗壞。如何J40nB474_p0026c06是不壞的意旨?」進云:「求和尚指示。」師便打,乃云:「祖家J40nB474_p0026c07活計不比教下,是法非思量分別之所能解,只要斬J40nB474_p0026c08釘截鐵、一刀兩段,各各識取根源,不用胡言漢語,那J40nB474_p0026c09管前三後三、松直荊曲、鶴白烏玄?萬別千差,總皈法J40nB474_p0026c10藏,汝等諸人向這裏具隻眼。今日普光禪人屈身為J40nB474_p0026c11法,率領大護法、眾檀越及諸山師友,敦請山僧住院,J40nB474_p0026c12重整家風,建立門庭,宣揚法化,貴圖祖道興隆。既然J40nB474_p0026c13如是,或有人問:『佛法大意作麼生指示聻?』」舉拄杖,云:J40nB474_p0026c14「棒頭有眼明如日,要識真金火裏看。」卓拄杖,下座。
J40nB474_p0026c15高良富領眾請上堂。問答不錄。乃云:「河邊受渴,飯裏J40nB474_p0026c16耽飢,真藥現前,自不能識。欲出生死海,須透過祖師J40nB474_p0026c17關。且道祖師關作麼生透聻?則如孔子三月忘味,顏J40nB474_p0026c18回終日如愚,拶至山窮水盡,自然有箇轉身悟處,始J40nB474_p0026c19知山僧恁麼說話;識得山僧恁麼說話,便知諸佛、諸J40nB474_p0026c20祖鼻孔;識得諸佛、諸祖鼻孔,便知自己落處。」復舉:「雲J40nB474_p0026c21門大師示眾云:『聞聲悟道,見色明心,觀世音菩薩將J40nB474_p0026c22錢買餬餅,放下手來卻是饅頭。』」師云:「瞻之在前,忽然J40nB474_p0026c23在後,回頭識得自家珍,始知親言出親口。」
J40nB474_p0026c24上堂。僧問:「空谷傳聲,聲歸何處?」師云:「千山勢到嶽邊J40nB474_p0026c25止,萬派聲皈海上消。」進云:「釋家老子出世、達磨西來J40nB474_p0026c26說些什麼?」師云:「無半字可說。」進云:「為什麼又有三乘J40nB474_p0026c27十二部?」師云:「切斷葛藤。」僧云:「每日學道,不知道在何J40nB474_p0026c28處?」師便打,乃云:「八字打開,當陽獨露。且道是第一義?J40nB474_p0026c29還是第二義?向這裏緇素分明,不必他求,則知佛祖J40nB474_p0026c30之道人人有分,元無欠缺,淨裸裸、赤灑灑,攝沙界於J40nB474_p0027a01毫端,融古今於當處。既然如是,只如超佛越祖一句J40nB474_p0027a02作麼生道?萬象齊作舞,虛空暗點頭。」
J40nB474_p0027a03張洪宇領眾檀越等請上堂。乃云:「若論這一著子,日J40nB474_p0027a04月照臨不到,天地覆載不著,十聖不知,三賢未曉。且J40nB474_p0027a05道許什麼人知?」舉拂子,云:「若向這裏會得去,隨機利J40nB474_p0027a06物,就語接人,紹隆聖種,擔荷正宗,百千三昧,彈指圓J40nB474_p0027a07成。雖然如是,大眾還委悉麼?」卓拄杖一下,云:「大道體J40nB474_p0027a08寬無背向,當陽須是箇中人。」下座。
J40nB474_p0027a09雷成明請上堂。乃云:「現成公案,不用作造,各各圓成,J40nB474_p0027a10處處玄妙。若欲識得本來人,縱橫無礙隨處樂,須彌J40nB474_p0027a11頂上扣金鐘,新羅國裏放鐵鷂,逐起泥牛海底行,踏J40nB474_p0027a12出金烏半夜叫。叫不叫?」舉拄杖,云:「有人識得這箇,不J40nB474_p0027a13必生死之所縛。」擲下拄杖,云:「差之毫釐,失之千里。」
J40nB474_p0027a14佛成道日,張汝卿、王世進等請上堂。監院問:「昔日神J40nB474_p0027a15光斷背,疼痛難忍,『祖師與我安心』,安箇什麼?」師云:「拔J40nB474_p0027a16出眼中釘,仍中穿耳箭。」進云:「佛殿倒走,獅子張口。」師J40nB474_p0027a17云:「吼吼我看。」進喝,師云:「野干鳴。」乃云:「大人俱大智,大J40nB474_p0027a18根成大器。不用行棒,不用行喝。」豎拂子云:「向這裏若J40nB474_p0027a19承當得去,不費纖毫,立地成佛。豈不見世尊初於臘J40nB474_p0027a20月八日明星出時忽云:『奇哉,一切眾生俱有如來智J40nB474_p0027a21慧德相!但以執著妄想而不能得證。』大眾!還識得釋J40nB474_p0027a22迦老子恁麼說話麼?其或未然,更聽隆阭一頌:棄卻J40nB474_p0027a23皇宮奔雪城,六年謐義對誰云?夜來戳瞎羅迦眼,依J40nB474_p0027a24舊日午打三更。」
J40nB474_p0027a25杜世登、趙世卿、高良富請上堂。問答不錄。乃云:「佛是J40nB474_p0027a26世間了事漢,眾生是世間未了事漢。欲得萬法總歸J40nB474_p0027a27一,佛與眾生無二樣;識得自性本如如,亦無一法與J40nB474_p0027a28人看。看不看,凡夫外道執邪見,丹霞燒木佛,翠微供J40nB474_p0027a29羅漢,一人只解收,一人只解放。古人雖然作用不同,J40nB474_p0027a30大家也須具隻眼。參!」
J40nB474_p0027b01聖岩寺請上堂。僧問:「如何是聖岩境?」師云:「巒峰翠色J40nB474_p0027b02新。」進云:「如何是境中人?」師云:「老僧愛住白雲深。」進云:J40nB474_p0027b03「或有人來,如何接待?」師云:「硬的是拳,軟的是棒。」僧擬J40nB474_p0027b04議,師便打,乃云:「西天四七,東土二三,燈燈相續,祖祖J40nB474_p0027b05相傳。且道傳箇什麼?佛祖窮之不到,千聖究之莫極。J40nB474_p0027b06山僧不惜眉毛,與諸人聊通箇消息:為人須為徹,殺J40nB474_p0027b07人須見血。若欲與大眾去黏解縛、抽釘拔楔,各各牙J40nB474_p0027b08似利劍、口如血盆、氣衝宇宙、鼻朝下垂,山僧到這裏J40nB474_p0027b09一點伎倆也無。為什麼如此?他家自有通霄路,說破J40nB474_p0027b10不值半文錢。」
永平府大護法郭自有領眾宰官請住南臺寺,上堂。J40nB474_p0027b12乃云:「秋深氣爽,風清靜浪,雲散霧消,水澄月現。正當J40nB474_p0027b13恁麼時,還識得此道理麼?若識得此道理,頭頭顯露,J40nB474_p0027b14物物全彰,水流風動,皆是道場。向這裏若會得去,遇J40nB474_p0027b15緣即宗,隨處作主,無戒可持,無生可護,上無佛道可J40nB474_p0027b16成,下無眾生可度。雖然如是,提向上機,須明向上眼;J40nB474_p0027b17指箇中事,還要箇中人。坐斷要津,不通凡聖,亦未是J40nB474_p0027b18向上機,亦未是箇中事。且道作麼生是向上機、箇中J40nB474_p0027b19事?」舉拂子,云:「還會麼?如或未然,更與大眾下箇註腳。」J40nB474_p0027b20良久,云:「但有一人發真皈源,十方虛空悉皆消殞。」
J40nB474_p0027b21劉繼漢請上堂。云:「若論佛法,本來現成,不隔絲毫,盡J40nB474_p0027b22大地是箇解脫門,與日月同明,耀古騰今,只因無始J40nB474_p0027b23以來妄想濃厚,背卻自己一段光明。若是箇大丈夫J40nB474_p0027b24漢,回光返照,直下承當,把得定,作得主,與諸佛、諸祖J40nB474_p0027b25把手並行、同來同去。雖然如是,還有領略得者麼?如J40nB474_p0027b26或未然,更與汝道破:利根上智須圓證,十聖三賢一J40nB474_p0027b27念超。」
J40nB474_p0027b28解制,上堂。云:「有放有收,有結有解,佛祖家風,古今舊J40nB474_p0027b29例。千山活計,足下芒鞋,踏翻秤錘,元來是鐵。咦!瓊苑J40nB474_p0027b30花開萬劫春,長江水洗千秋月。」
