CC001n0001_p0297a07CC001n0001_p0297a08信道,字真培,金山青權禪師之母也。俗姓張氏,江都人,歸同邑CC001n0001_p0297a09丁溝闞公宏能為簉室,生三子。青年喪夫,矢志守節,專精念佛,雅CC001n0001_p0297a10尚清修,怵火宅之焚如,躭清涼之解渴。始於宣統二年金山秉受五戒,CC001n0001_p0297a11旋於本州福興庵依心誠禪師披薙出家。民國甲寅,於本州福緣寺受具CC001n0001_p0297a12足戒,淨行高潔,律儀維嫻。朝鐘夕梵,指清泰以為期;坐誦行思,CC001n0001_p0297a13悟心土之不二。屢感彌陀金容炳煥,立於屋脊,三聖儼然。又於清CC001n0001_p0297a14夜見圓光如月,從空而下,直投於懷。道心身歡悅,如灌醍醐,CC001n0001_p0298a01眠食輕安,永斷煩惱。自壯至老,數十餘年,如群流之赴海,隨曲折CC001n0001_p0298a02以無迴;若眾木之含春,吐芬芳而競秀。不由策進,自然無怠無荒;CC001n0001_p0298a03用之彌勤,豈曰以冬以夏!民國七年六月二十八日,於福興庵無疾而CC001n0001_p0298a04終,享年八十有三。青權禪師躬眎裝殮,遵制荼毘。火燄騰空,祥光四CC001n0001_p0298a05溢,凡軀脫落,德性周圓。火滅,收取靈骨,得舍利三枚,光潤活潑,CC001n0001_p0298a06恣態如生。九華松月上人為作碑銘曰:「巍巍禪師,含辛茹苦;志篤樂CC001n0001_p0298a07邦,精誠孔聚。感佛金容,光森梁柱;滿月墮懷,瑞相斯睹。厲行綺CC001n0001_p0298a08歲,慶快暮年;悟徹心土,去若安禪。體輕如蛻,火迸祥煙;舍利不CC001n0001_p0298a09壞,至固極堅。信為道源,惟功德母;三草二木,以生以茂。法雨既CC001n0001_p0298a10沾,隨根普受;七覺花開,八支果阜。無土不育,難長菩提;有信斯CC001n0001_p0298a11就,如取如攜。諸佛薩海,心想能齊;是心是佛,心作有稽。敢告後CC001n0001_p0298a12來,以師為法;精誠既遒,罔怠以怯。功不唐捐,薰修淨業;能見實CC001n0001_p0298a13相,超塵點劫。」
一七五、民國宛平某庵尼如智傳
CC001n0001_p0299a02CC001n0001_p0299a03如智,號禮泉,姓王,京兆宛平人。秉性貞靜,幼不茹葷,喜聞CC001n0001_p0299a04經聲佛號。見從姊出家,住山苦節修行,則思齊念生。父母篤愛,故CC001n0001_p0299a05不敢言,但常隨姊山居,負薪汲水,蔬食菜根,自若也。十八歲,染CC001n0001_p0299a06疾垂危,醫藥罔效,氣息奄奄,昏迷中唯呼剃髮求戒,別無所言。父CC001n0001_p0299a07母痛女心切,遂遙向佛前允許,病乃漸痊。二十一歲,與姊同師保定老CC001n0001_p0299a08和尚祝髮,是年冬求戒,禮懺習律,惟謹惟勤,體不勝勞,宿疾復發。CC001n0001_p0299a09病中勉受十支淨戒,戒師憐之,命回寺調養,以便癒後受具。及回寺,CC001n0001_p0299a10病革已不可治,然念佛不輟。一日,忽開眼,望空合掌,高聲稱觀世音CC001n0001_p0299a11菩薩三聲,作三禮拜狀,溘然而逝。殮訖,越五日,戒師送衣鉢至,父CC001n0001_p0299a12母將所與衣搭在身上。啟棺視之,則翻身吉祥而臥,面色如生,頂尚CC001n0001_p0299a13溫暖,咸知為生西明證,時民國八年十一月十七日也。
一七六、民國興化金善庵尼杲峰傳(附.智明傳)
CC001n0001_p0300a02CC001n0001_p0300a03杲峰,字雲慧,鹽城房氏女。父啟明,營米為業。性純靜好善,CC001n0001_p0300a04聞先輩傳說:污穢字紙,第一折福,因此凡見棄紙於地而有字者,必CC001n0001_p0300a05拾而化之。峰幼隨父至興化,寄居西門三聖庵,從師走讀,通曉文理。CC001n0001_p0300a06因身在庵宇,常聽有道高德談論佛乘,心大好之,遂蓄意清修,不CC001n0001_p0300a07願適人。後為某高第聘去教讀子女,終非其志,辭往金善庵,一心辦道,CC001n0001_p0300a08間為諸沙彌尼講授典章,文譽翕然。居數載,感於庵中屋宇疏漏,乃CC001n0001_p0300a09捐貲獨建中廳三間。峰具法眼,善於鑑別根器,臧否人物,皆得其當。CC001n0001_p0300a10民國八年秋,嘗以租事至唐港,見震華方十一歲。與語,大加歎賞。時CC001n0001_p0300a11華早失怙恃,依兄嫂力田,處境甚苦。當承導以佛法,亟攜至城,擇CC001n0001_p0300a12邑中名剎曰圓通者,送往出家,由是得遇栽培,層層上進,乃至得浴CC001n0001_p0300a13大藏教海,身心受潤。飲水思源,莫非最初獎拔,汲引之所惠也。民國CC001n0001_p0300a14十年三月三十日,峰以疾委蛻遺命,削髮受具戒,世壽六十五歲。華CC001n0001_p0301a01時薙度後二年,附熟讀書,聞之,悲戀不已,如失慈母,恨未有以圖報。CC001n0001_p0301a02庵主智明在旁勉曰:「汝不必哀慕,若能立志做人,將來造成法器,是CC001n0001_p0301a03則峰公之所望也。」
CC001n0001_p0301a04智明,字真修,為建庵第一代。興化周氏女,年及笄,守貞不字,CC001n0001_p0301a05依幻明上人出家,受具足戒於安豐觀音閣。邑之鸚鵡橋南,有金氏CC001n0001_p0301a06隙地數畝,施與建庵,本印度衹園之意,名曰金善。日事禮誦,精進CC001n0001_p0301a07逾恆,拜大方廣佛華嚴經全部,一字一禮,凡轉頭六週,足跡深CC001n0001_p0301a08陷寸許,見者驚歎。經完之後,恆持觀音名號,每日亦必數百拜。課CC001n0001_p0301a09餘不作多言,惟勸人為善,則必苦口叮嚀,娓娓不倦。終其身納衣草CC001n0001_p0301a10履,淡澹明志。民國十五年三月三十日示寂,世壽七十七歲。
一七七、民國台州某庵尼如覺傳
CC001n0001_p0302a02CC001n0001_p0302a03如覺,姓許,台州人。有兄三姊一,其次三。二兄俱出家,覺與CC001n0001_p0302a04姊亦慕之,遂於清光緒十一年正月十五日同時披剃,時姊年二十二,CC001n0001_p0302a05而覺乃二十。具戒後,姊妹二人同閉關三年。又偕往各名山進香,一年CC001n0001_p0302a06歸,復同閉關九年。出關後,修持益篤,每日必禮佛千拜,誦佛號無算。CC001n0001_p0302a07見人即勸以念佛,謂多念一句佛,即少說一句話,少生一惡念。CC001n0001_p0302a08徒眾經其感化訓誨,均修持甚力。民國壬戌六月三日,早課畢,忽覺CC001n0001_p0302a09胸腹漲悶。徒眾急以痧藥進,無效,次日已小癒,仍起課誦如常時。CC001n0001_p0302a10飯罷,驟發寒,乃蒙被臥,終不出汗。六日,已乏甚,惟神志甚清,召徒CC001n0001_p0302a11至榻前念佛。至傍晚,目漸瞑,手足亦冰。因徒眾號泣,復張目微笑,CC001n0001_p0302a12語眾曰:「生何喜?死何悲?汝曹何泣為哉?我今去後,汝曹相處,宜CC001n0001_p0302a13愈和好,修持愈勿懈。生死事大,時光有限,萬勿自誤。汝曹既已以CC001n0001_p0302a14女子身,現尼僧相,得尼僧名,不可謂非殊勝因緣、無量幸福。務須CC001n0001_p0302a15時時惕勵,保此比丘尼人格,做一箇有名有實的尼僧。」語畢,遂寂CC001n0001_p0302a16然長往,狀極安祥,頂門至次午猶熱。世壽五十七,戒臘三十八。
一七八、民國台州某庵尼蓮貞傳
CC001n0001_p0303a02CC001n0001_p0303a03蓮貞,丹徒趙氏女。幼與其表兄某同學,因相愛,且私訂婚焉。CC001n0001_p0303a04表兄早喪父母,家貧,因育於趙氏。貞之父母素重利,以其貧,頗不CC001n0001_p0303a05齒。及知其女私以身相許,怒而逐之。某悲憤交併,遂就薙髮匠將辮CC001n0001_p0303a06髮薙除,包以紙,附以書,丐婢投之貞,己即投金山寺剃度為僧。貞得CC001n0001_p0303a07書并髮,欣然曰:「彼不我負,我安可負彼?我本擬一死以謝彼,今彼CC001n0001_p0303a08既為僧,我亦知所處矣!」乃宵遁,輾轉至台州某庵,投圓信比丘尼座CC001n0001_p0303a09下,堅請祝髮。圓師憐而許之,遂於光緒二十五年八月二十日為貞CC001n0001_p0303a10剃度,時年十有七也。貞既現尼相,修持勤篤,日必誦阿彌陀經四十CC001n0001_p0303a11徧,佛號數萬聲,雖病亦不間斷。受戒後,始返里省親,父母喜,強CC001n0001_p0303a12其蓄髮還俗,貞誓死不從。居一月,仍還庵,自是修持愈謹。民國十一CC001n0001_p0303a13年七月二十九晚,燒地藏香畢,忽覺頭痛,便就寢。晨興,其徒悅禪CC001n0001_p0303a14以粥進,貞曰:「無須,可為我備水沐浴。」浴罷復剃髮,及取新淨衣與CC001n0001_p0304a01袈裟等來披著妥。當時眾聞訊咸至,貞合掌向圓師點首者三,曰:CC001n0001_p0304a02「師!我去矣。」復向眾點首告別。言訖,遂瞑目長逝,時壬戌八月朔日CC001n0001_p0304a03下午三時也。春秋四十,僧臘二十四。
一七九、民國蘇州青蓮庵尼了定傳(附.德惠傳)
CC001n0001_p0305a02CC001n0001_p0305a03了定,皖之崔氏女,幼隨父游宦吳中。適黃氏,以有涉嫌疑事,CC001n0001_p0305a04大歸。父方正而嚴,將處死,母私縱之。定既離家,茫無所歸,途遇CC001n0001_p0305a05青蓮庵德惠比丘尼,忽大感悟。遂尾行之,及抵庵,涕泣以前事白德CC001n0001_p0305a06師,堅請出家。德師憐而留之,初不為祝髮,居庵數月,功課已熟習,CC001n0001_p0305a07屢請德師求披剃。德師鑑其誠,且以美貌年青,若不剃度,常居庵中,CC001n0001_p0305a08殊多不便。因剃度,使成正式尼相,為取法名了定。以姿容白皙,乃自CC001n0001_p0305a09曬使黑,以期毀容,而謹行止。受戒後,閉關三年。在關中,於壁上貼CC001n0001_p0305a10大紙二:其一曰:「汝是什麼人?」答曰:「我是一箇尼僧。」其一曰:CC001n0001_p0305a11「做尼僧應該怎樣?」答曰:「做尼僧應息妄念佛。」每生妄念及念佛CC001n0001_p0305a12疲倦時,便讀此二紙,心既大定,念佛愈有精神。
CC001n0001_p0305a13德師甚重之,謂人誰無過,過而能改,斯為無過。又謂:「人CC001n0001_p0305a14人能如此立志,天下無一不好的僧尼。」蓋少年男女出家,初時難免不CC001n0001_p0306a01生妄念,但能自己設法制止,加以警勵,日久妄念自止。妄念止,破CC001n0001_p0306a02戒壞法之事,自不會發生,修學亦自然勤奮。而定則曰:「若天下為CC001n0001_p0306a03師者,人人能如師之善於訓誨感導,則無論何人出家,亦必能持戒修CC001n0001_p0306a04行。故世之破戒毀法者,半為師者之過。」定待遇諸徒,恩德有加,師CC001n0001_p0306a05徒之間,如母女焉。定晚年專修淨土,於民國壬戌十月二十九日,無CC001n0001_p0306a06疾示寂,頗多瑞相。世壽七十六,戒臘五十六。
一八〇、民國鎮江雨華庵尼素密傳(附.素浩、證行)
CC001n0001_p0307a02CC001n0001_p0307a03素密,字定佛,香山陳氏女。五妹素浩,字演開;七妹證行,字CC001n0001_p0307a04慈修,並稟信根,相偕入道。密幼有至性,好習宗教。有八方某師,CC001n0001_p0307a05日以其說進,條示運氣諸法使鍊之。密固聰穎,稍聞即解,依解而行,CC001n0001_p0307a06髣髴有所得。更以之傳人,人頗受其化。光緒三十二年,持其道至日CC001n0001_p0307a07本,徧游各埠。見佛教在彼國極盛,若英美之崇奉耶穌無異,因止鎌CC001n0001_p0307a08倉回春院,讀誦經書,參究禪旨。
CC001n0001_p0307a09時訪圓覺、建長諸寺僧,審知佛法精義,至高無上,悔前所習,為世CC001n0001_p0307a10間唾餘,盡行捨棄,頓萌祝髮之念。宣統元年回國,首朝南海,感得CC001n0001_p0307a11異境。即於上清涼禮霧山長老為師,請賜法名,往金陵千華律院,乞CC001n0001_p0307a12受具足大戒。期滿,下山,欲擇靜室修持。至鎮江,得雨華、圓通二庵,CC001n0001_p0307a13招素、浩證行分居之。修般舟三昧一期,精苦卓越,感發人心。提倡CC001n0001_p0307a14十聲念佛,其法簡便易行,人多奉其教。民國二年,二次光復,鎮地騷CC001n0001_p0308a01動,密遂再往日本,宏通佛乘。已聞證行死,親回料理葬事。九年,移CC001n0001_p0308a02居香港鳳凰山,建楞嚴壇。十一年,至南京,請棲霞山戒師若舜和尚蒞CC001n0001_p0308a03港。於十一月十三日,假民園主持佛七道場,士女環集,每日激增,最CC001n0001_p0308a04多達四五千人。聞法生信,紛求皈依,乃至不捨法緣,懇乞展期三日。CC001n0001_p0308a05時港地久乏聞薰,是舉實開風氣之先。而若公適繼乃師宗仰上人遺志,CC001n0001_p0308a06重建棲霞堂塔,願輪雖運於內,緣會未集於外。至此得密為之護持,CC001n0001_p0308a07在港建立鹿野苑,宏施法雨,廣攝群機,十餘年間,而棲霞山林,藻CC001n0001_p0308a08繪如新,法相莊嚴、圓滿成就。迹其檀施之來,多源於此,密實與有CC001n0001_p0308a09力焉。十四年,密養靜庾嶺,六月初七日,遂示寂,壽五十二,骨灰賚回CC001n0001_p0308a10棲霞安葬。
一八一、民國彭澤淨土庵尼果仁傳
CC001n0001_p0309a02CC001n0001_p0309a03果仁,彭澤陶氏女,適宗姓。清光緒丙午年,出家於邑之淨土庵,CC001n0001_p0309a04禮聖宗為師。民國元年落髮,初習導引術。庚申春,劉契淨居士等設CC001n0001_p0309a05佛學會於庵內,因得聞念佛求生淨土之簡妙法門,頓發信心,盡棄其CC001n0001_p0309a06前盲修瞎煉之外道法,而孜孜念佛。更習金剛經、彌陀經、大悲咒,CC001n0001_p0309a07分為早晚功課。甲子冬,微患痰疾。其徒常參於臘月八日,夢見童子CC001n0001_p0309a08四人,前執幢旛,後四人扛轎一乘,云「來接當家師往西方」。乙丑四月CC001n0001_p0309a09二十日,仁自夢一僧,左手捧蓮華鉢,右手下垂過膝,謂之曰:「汝當CC001n0001_p0309a10於六月五日登蓮座。」明日,以告常參,旋取鑰匙等付之,囑云:「我得CC001n0001_p0309a11生西,親承佛誨,至慰。汝好好侍奉師公,撐持法門,謹守皈戒,念CC001n0001_p0309a12經禮佛,如我在世無異,不可妄為。」臨終前七日,更令徒向山下人CC001n0001_p0309a13家告別。
CC001n0001_p0310a01契淨居士因其未受大戒,請城隍廟比丘悟道為說三壇戒法,及製CC001n0001_p0310a02衣具。六月初三夜,常參復夢一僧身長丈餘,披紅袈裟,胸前斜挂CC001n0001_p0310a03帶一條,上書「南無西方接引阿彌陀佛」,首戴蓮華瓣帽,帽頂現白CC001n0001_p0310a04蓮一朵,一佛趺坐其上,口稱「請當家師同去」。後二日,即仁預告西歸之CC001n0001_p0310a05期,悟道、契淨等均來助念。午飯後,仁謂眾曰:「天氣太熱,請各回CC001n0001_p0310a06家洗浴,我戌時去。浴罷再來,未晚也。」眾果散去,屆時至,見仁趺CC001n0001_p0310a07坐念佛數聲而寂。翌日,入龕,貌如生。遺命散骨灰於路,結眾生緣。
一八二、民國南通大悲庵尼大悟傳
CC001n0001_p0311a02CC001n0001_p0311a03大悟,字法林,姓袁,江蘇南通人。幼許邵,未嫁,夫卒,誓不再CC001n0001_p0311a04適。投縣西大悲庵為尼,立志念佛,求生淨土。常云:「佛法之大,唯CC001n0001_p0311a05淨土為契機。拜經、坐香等、乃助消業障、俾易成就淨業耳。」出家後,CC001n0001_p0311a06力任苦行,汲舂炊爨,取給一己;晨夕淨課,日愈虔謹。初薙染時,CC001n0001_p0311a07年二十二,夫家執世見,百計阻之。悟志堅,卒成所願。庵荒敗,募CC001n0001_p0311a08修嚴飾,闢佛堂,營蔬圃,資眾清修。見人有苦,隨為說法,常有感CC001n0001_p0311a09動。晚年,因色力漸退,急朝普陀、九華,頗感瑞相。民國十六年二月,CC001n0001_p0311a10示微疾,病中書偈云:「世間萬緣都放下,唯有念佛是真心。一念超出CC001n0001_p0311a11娑婆苦,貪瞋癡愛都除盡。寸絲不挂光明臺,參透法身脫苦輪。得滿CC001n0001_p0311a12極樂清淨願,再入娑婆度眾生。」至十八日,見佛垂光接引,安然化CC001n0001_p0311a13去,世壽七十三。至二十八闍維,得舍利五粒。
一八三、民國彭澤淨土庵尼聖道傳
CC001n0001_p0312a02CC001n0001_p0312a03聖道,彭澤宗氏女,適陶姓。清光緒三十二年,出家於本邑淨土庵。CC001n0001_p0312a04民國九年,劉契淨居士創辦佛學會於庵內,道乃一意念佛,求生淨土。CC001n0001_p0312a05十五年八月間,夢一人來庵,向之合掌云:「將接往西方。」給書一函,囑CC001n0001_p0312a06勿遺失。十月間,夢朝南海,舟行數日,水盡登山。見嶺旁一媼,兩CC001n0001_p0312a07手徧現眼目,光爍爍如電。道問:「此何處?」曰:「靈山。」道乃脫帽下拜,CC001n0001_p0312a08媼讚云:「汝念佛虔誠,我將帶汝生西,今且歸。」手引之起。瞿然覺,CC001n0001_p0312a09則帽脫在枕畔矣。翌日,即告徒孫常參,謂:「吾於明正十三日去。」囑CC001n0001_p0312a10以後事甚悉。臘月除夕,常參夢道上殿禮佛,禮畢,言:「我去矣。」而庵外CC001n0001_p0312a11人聲鼎沸,稱來迎老和尚。至丁卯正月十三,早課畢,謂常參曰:「今日CC001n0001_p0312a12有佛事,宜早作炊。」自入房,印往生紙錢。午供後用膳將竟,手忽寒CC001n0001_p0312a13縮,云:「要走。」手中飯盌忽旋轉上騰,如花形,升至一人身之高。道笑CC001n0001_p0312a14曰:「好看哉!」約一刻鐘,盌始降於坐前熏籠梁上,端正而住,盌內CC001n0001_p0312a15之飯未出顆粒,誠不可思議。至未時,果安詳而逝。
一八四、民國東臺蓮華庵尼印根傳
CC001n0001_p0313a02CC001n0001_p0313a03印根,字慧濟,東臺丁氏女。幼讀書知禮,父母深愛之。及笄,適CC001n0001_p0313a04高氏,舉一子。因遭回祿,災及夫身,未幾,子亦亡。印根自計曰:「天CC001n0001_p0313a05豈欲助吾道,故示此以去情縛乎?果如此,吾又何尤?」遂屏棄俗緣,CC001n0001_p0313a06歸投佛法,入本邑蓮華庵清修。時庵中殿宇殘破,椽梠欲脫,草逕荒CC001n0001_p0313a07階,等無人境。有妙善、妙守二師,及善女五六人,寄庵修行,各自CC001n0001_p0313a08炊食,無有主持,望去滿眼煙塵,為狀極苦。印根歎曰:「此庵雖苦,CC001n0001_p0313a09而道甚富;他庵雖富,其道不如。吾今為道而來,其境良宜。」乃依CC001n0001_p0313a10妙善為弟子,時年方二十一。既入庵後,粗衣糲食,同眾甘苦,俗氏CC001n0001_p0313a11所有資給,飲食則與眾同餐;錢財則密蓄一處,為續置庵產,修理殿CC001n0001_p0313a12宇之需。撤分爨之制,統歸一人供養,運土木、購磚瓦,庵日漸次修CC001n0001_p0313a13復。閱五年,投京口焦山求受居家五戒,親聞法要,道念益堅,以尊CC001n0001_p0313a14敬善知識,救濟窮苦為事。年三十六,始薙髮,至南京寶華山,受具足CC001n0001_p0314a01大戒。戒事圓滿,回經鎮江超岸寺,參圓覺禪師,得付正法。茲後於佛CC001n0001_p0314a02法,益漸清明,研究經論,自能開解。遠近僧俗,每有執經問難者,CC001n0001_p0314a03皆隨所能而為之解。凡事關佛教,無不竭力而為,遂為東邑尼僧之領CC001n0001_p0314a04袖。至年四十七,自歎光陰易邁,雖外結善緣,而己躬下事,還未理CC001n0001_p0314a05著。即於本庵禁足閉關,院務財物,悉付師兄印慈代理。自則謝絕CC001n0001_p0314a06一切,專辦生死。其志強於身,常數日不食,而功課決不稍懈,乃至CC001n0001_p0314a07昏倒於地,起時猶自刻責不已。民國十八年己巳四月中旬,忽示疾。CC001n0001_p0314a08於三日前分付後事,一一分明,遺囑喪事宜從簡樸,勿尚俗情。於CC001n0001_p0314a09二十三日卯時,念佛聲中,安然而逝。
一八五、民國南京慧月居尼宏源傳(附.能開、學如傳)
CC001n0001_p0315a02CC001n0001_p0315a03宏源,字性亮,剃度於南京慧月居,發心甚早。平生喜念佛,勤CC001n0001_p0315a04禮拜,敬師處眾,一一平和誠懇。寡言語,攝身嚴,待人厚,自奉薄。CC001n0001_p0315a05上殿念佛,領導大眾,爭先恐後,朝斯夕斯,寒暑不輟,數十年如一CC001n0001_p0315a06日。民國十九年庚午秋患病,延醫調理,未能奏效。臥床數月,形容CC001n0001_p0315a07枯瘦,身體浮腫,飲食漸減。問病者至,但點頭,不多語,祇管加緊念CC001n0001_p0315a08佛。不進飲食已多日,仍念佛不休,臨終前數日,嘗親見阿彌陀佛數CC001n0001_p0315a09次,更聞異香滿室,并蓮華現於牀前。氣息奄奄時,舌根尚能微動,CC001n0001_p0315a10隨魚磬聲念佛。於冬月二十八日,正念分明而逝。
CC001n0001_p0315a11能開,江北鹽城山東會館內天后宮住持,生平以清規律己。慕師CC001n0001_p0315a12公學如一生修持淨業,寂後荼毗,得舍利三顆,及碧色寶劍二枝。由CC001n0001_p0315a13是熏修益勤,看經有省。民國二十年辛未秋,夢文殊菩薩示以逝期,CC001n0001_p0315a14遂集眾念佛坐化。寂後頂上暖氣如煙,尚有聲音。
一八六、民國江寧天印庵尼圓音傳
CC001n0001_p0316a02CC001n0001_p0316a03圓音,石埭人,楊仁山居士次女也。生於佛化家庭,有鹿門遺風。CC001n0001_p0316a04稟性敏慧,十四歲能誦短部經,長齋奉佛,翹心淨土。稍長,每欲薙染,CC001n0001_p0316a05藉專歸向,一時未果所願。二十一,適有維揚之行,因緣發現,逕投圓CC001n0001_p0316a06覺精舍,乞磚橋法藏寺妙空長老俯賜法名,而剃度焉。旋受具足戒CC001n0001_p0316a07於京口焦山,歸里,嚴持戒範,止住寶坊。祖母眷念情深,不忍遠離,CC001n0001_p0316a08特於住宅另闢淨室,供其禮誦。音日常研究教典,刺血書彌陀經、普CC001n0001_p0316a09門品、佛遺教經各一卷,以資上報下濟。又精繪佛菩薩聖像,分散CC001n0001_p0316a10遠近供養。光緒二十五年,覓得金陵城內基地一方,建立梵剎,標額CC001n0001_p0316a11天印。雖曰朝暮自修,實欲與仁老所創之金陵刻經處相近,以便較閱CC001n0001_p0316a12經籍,分擔弘化之責也。
CC001n0001_p0316a13庵成之後,每屆結夏安居,敬禮華嚴、法華諸經,自課極嚴,了CC001n0001_p0316a14無倦態。宣統三年秋,仁老卒,音哀慟之餘,誓畢刻經之願,挺身負責,CC001n0001_p0317a01冒難乘危。曾作募刻全藏緣起二千餘言,辭旨懇切,感發人心。經其CC001n0001_p0317a02手點刊之書,有西方發願文註、集諸經禮懺儀、十不二門文心解、大CC001n0001_p0317a03日經疏義釋、維摩天台疏等。民國十九年九月初二日,無疾而終,壽CC001n0001_p0317a04六十有五。
一八七、民國安慶靜室庵尼德成傳
CC001n0001_p0318a02CC001n0001_p0318a03德成,姓方,安慶富紳習之公之女。九歲,投本城靜室庵出家。二CC001n0001_p0318a04十五歲,受具戒。生平和靄待人,戒律嚴身,尤以禮拜持誦為事。早年,CC001n0001_p0318a05專誦金剛經;中年後則禮拜華嚴、法華各大乘經;晚年;轉而念佛。一CC001n0001_p0318a06生精進修持,晝夜翹勤,寒暑無間,數十年如一日。兼好隨喜作諸功CC001n0001_p0318a07德,尤能提倡佛法,捐款興學,并建蓮社。領女眾念佛,復常請法師CC001n0001_p0318a08講經,或延居士演說佛理。故安慶一隅,佛法由衰而興,得成之力為CC001n0001_p0318a09多。民國二十一年春,掩關三七日,專誠念佛,淨境中見「我悲常寂」CC001n0001_p0318a10四字,并聞佛呼其名,告以往生時日。出關,即囑眾為之預辦後事,至CC001n0001_p0318a11六月,果圓寂。荼毗獲舍利數粒,長圓各異,有一粒長約半寸,五色璀CC001n0001_p0318a12璨,觀者皆歎希有。世壽六十五,戒臘四十一。
一八八、民國南匯淨心庵尼淨船傳CC001n0001_p0319a02(附.淨願、華慧、蓮道、蓮勝、華根、華廣傳)
CC001n0001_p0319a03CC001n0001_p0319a04淨船,南匯虞氏女。與尹氏女淨願為異姓姊妹,同志學佛,深信CC001n0001_p0319a05佛法有益人生,誓欲出家以專其業。立願奇切,一再拒婚,意不可回,CC001n0001_p0319a06父母不忍奪其志,乃聽二女同時剃度於縣之泥城淨心庵,時為光緒二CC001n0001_p0319a07十年後事也。兩師體素弱多病,出家以後,乃日健康,至年七十許,CC001n0001_p0319a08猶步履如常。南匯尼眾殊少,婦女對三寶亦罕認識,自船、願二師CC001n0001_p0319a09相偕現比丘尼相,一時欽道慕德,聞風興起。而發大心,相從出家者CC001n0001_p0319a10日盛。船等以慈悲方便,度人為懷,凡求度者,苟心真願切,無不樂CC001n0001_p0319a11成其志,為之薙染。而於皈依弟子中之有機緣出家者,尤時時力加勸CC001n0001_p0319a12勉,以故四十餘年來,幾無歲無善女人相從落髮現尼相,多時年且達CC001n0001_p0319a13二三十人。尼既日眾,淨心雖大,亦漸不能容,於是乃分居三聖、CC001n0001_p0319a14三昧、大悲、福緣、蓮華等庵,各住尼十餘人、乃至數十人不等。蓋CC001n0001_p0320a01舉凡南匯,及其比鄰之奉、川兩縣,各庵所有之比丘尼,幾無一非船、願CC001n0001_p0320a02二師之剃度弟子與徒孫。會合已圓寂者計之,當有五百人之多,洵屬CC001n0001_p0320a03希有事也。
CC001n0001_p0320a04觀音庵者,亦為淨心分支之一,以其中之尼多同胞姊妹,故亦稱CC001n0001_p0320a05姊妹庵。庵在南匯城內之西門,住持華慧比丘尼,為淨船之徒孫。華CC001n0001_p0320a06慧,潘氏女,姊妹四人,慧居長。極賢孝敬淑,家中自祖父母以下,咸CC001n0001_p0320a07奉佛甚虔。其姨母蓮道比丘尼,與蓮勝比丘尼未出家時即友善。蓮勝CC001n0001_p0320a08為胡氏女,知書能文,幼許字,嫁有日矣。而勝信佛彌篤,堅不願從,CC001n0001_p0320a09力求為尼。父母不許,勝即自將髮髻翦落,親知不能強。乃設法解除CC001n0001_p0320a10婚約,任其入庵削染。蓮道見其事,大為所感,不久,亦即走從淨船落CC001n0001_p0320a11髮為尼。華慧年十五,即依蓮道受三皈時學經咒,每至庵,輒欣羨為CC001n0001_p0320a12尼之樂,依依不忍去。一日,庵中又有二善女人剃度,華慧見而心慕不CC001n0001_p0320a13已,曰:「若得如此,則此生之願足矣!」歸即請於雙親,親曰:「人各有志,CC001n0001_p0320a14焉能相強?汝願為尼,亦無不可,但須遲數載,俟爾弟妹長成後方CC001n0001_p0321a01可披薙。」華慧由是持長齋,侍親撫弟妹,佐治家政之暇,輒靜坐念CC001n0001_p0321a02佛。至二十一,始獲蒙親許,如願落髮於淨心庵,時民國三年十一月CC001n0001_p0321a03十六日也。明年,受具,旋從蓮道住觀音庵。年餘,蓮道仍返淨心,而以CC001n0001_p0321a04觀音庵付慧主之。
CC001n0001_p0321a05未幾,慧之次妹亦從其姨母蓮道薙為尼,法名華根。及幼妹華廣、CC001n0001_p0321a06華穩長成,亦樂願為尼,偕兩姊同修。其父母見長、次二女出家後清CC001n0001_p0321a07靜安適,一切勝善,對幼女請許披薙,即亦欣然允可。廣、穩二師本CC001n0001_p0321a08雙生,乃於民國十年觀音誕日,同時由慧、根兩姊親為薙髮現尼相,CC001n0001_p0321a09而慧、根、廣、穩四師在俗時之閨友。華桂、華緣、華遇、華明、CC001n0001_p0321a10華通、華輪、華俊,及表妹華高、華妙諸師,亦先後因華慧姊妹之感CC001n0001_p0321a11化熏陶,相繼落髮為尼。高、妙二師亦同胞姊妹,俗姓張,為其剃CC001n0001_p0321a12度師蓮道尼之胞姪女,剃髮時姊廿三而妹十八。經云:「佛種從緣起」,CC001n0001_p0321a13不其然乎?華慧所度弟子亦已達十數人,其中同胞姊妹出家者,有CC001n0001_p0321a14從能、從賢,乃王氏女。能先皈依於慧,至年廿九,始發心出家,其CC001n0001_p0322a01妹賢堅請從,乃於民國十六年二月初八日相偕披薙。又有從儒、從光,CC001n0001_p0322a02乃吳氏女,先世業醫,從儒先二年剃度,其妹則於民國十八年四月初CC001n0001_p0322a03八日落髮,時年二十二。華慧有二姪女,亦依之為尼,又自幼出家者CC001n0001_p0322a04三,則皆其母與華慧友善,而捨女入庵為其徒者。慧嘗曰:「吾人既以CC001n0001_p0322a05殊勝因緣,萬千之幸,得度出家。應深憫未得度之苦海眾生,盡心力CC001n0001_p0322a06以濟拔,方是我佛慈悲方便之道。若能感之以誠,化之以德,加之以CC001n0001_p0322a07教誨勸導,則人非木石。雖極不肖之女子,一朝落髮為尼,亦未嘗不CC001n0001_p0322a08能堅其心志。使其潛移默化,奮勉懺悔。放下屠刀。立地成佛。」慧CC001n0001_p0322a09性極慈和,遇諸徒若親女,庵中清規整肅。六時行道,一入其中,頓CC001n0001_p0322a10滌煩慮。師徒兄弟之間,旨趣相投,志同道合。無親疏,無恩怨,無CC001n0001_p0322a11吝妬,無偽謙,無猜疑,無嫉忌,無爭競,共學共作,相敬相親,互CC001n0001_p0322a12勉互助,各見以誠。怡怡然,融融然,勝於家庭骨肉。離俗清修之樂,CC001n0001_p0322a13誠非塵世濁惡所可比也。
一八九、民國江都德勝庵尼心忠傳
CC001n0001_p0323a02CC001n0001_p0323a03心忠,江都人,俗姓杜氏,秉性淑慎。年十六,即持觀音齋,常誦CC001n0001_p0323a04佛號。年十九,歸吳氏,遇上下以禮,閫以內翕如也。生一子出家,即CC001n0001_p0323a05祥瑞法師是。祥瑞受其幃訓,信解行持,為人所難。嘗步禮五臺,兩CC001n0001_p0323a06行般舟三昧,顏大使惠慶趙內部長戴文、杜中委虙皆與結林下交。CC001n0001_p0323a07奉梵網、孝名為戒之條,每逾時必旋里省覲。心忠年三十五,獲親善知CC001n0001_p0323a08識,受三皈五戒。昕夕持誦,而出塵之念日益切。越三年,竟投長生寺CC001n0001_p0323a09性蓮和尚座下薙染。當以該寺兵燹之餘,屋宇半就傾圮,乃發心募化,CC001n0001_p0323a10城鄉奔走,不以為疲。日以七萬佛號為恆課,且行且念觀感,而信佛CC001n0001_p0323a11者頗不乏人。民國三年,募秦郵楊姓獨建關房六座,行僧得以潛修,CC001n0001_p0323a12於是長生寺道風播於遐邇。又募大殿及念佛堂,閱時三載,相繼竣工。CC001n0001_p0323a13自此莊嚴輪奐,寺貌重新,遠近咸以微忠之力,必不及此。民國八年,朝CC001n0001_p0323a14五臺山南歸,覓得破庵名德勝,稍加修葺,足以清修。忠以溽暑募緣,CC001n0001_p0324a01深受暑毒,致頭部生瘡,人皆以為患,忠獨淡然處之。民國二十年,病CC001n0001_p0324a02益劇,雖極痛苦,猶聞彌陀佛聲、觀音菩薩聲間錯,而念念至純熟,CC001n0001_p0324a03密密綿綿。遽然醒來,其痛忽止,感應有如此者。忠自奉甚薄,嘗稱CC001n0001_p0324a04馬祖「一日不作,一日不食」之遺風,故瑣屑雜務,必躬為之。居庵CC001n0001_p0324a05之後,除念佛恆課外,又每日加誦金剛經若干卷,及早、晚課,歷十數CC001n0001_p0324a06年如一日。
CC001n0001_p0324a07二十三年夏,祥瑞宏法於川,忠忽染疾,人欲函招祥瑞歸侍湯藥,CC001n0001_p0324a08忠弗許。曰:「弘法事大,侍疾事小。」竟止之。秋八月十七日,往城內CC001n0001_p0324a09護法家有所接洽,歸來即感不適,人欲延醫診治。忠曰:「吾於昨日夢CC001n0001_p0324a10佛船載五人,兼欲載余,余報緣殆將盡矣!可請人念佛,助余往生。」CC001n0001_p0324a11越二日,疾大漸,諸人念佛以一其心,晚遂吉祥而逝,時年七十餘矣。CC001n0001_p0324a12祥瑞聞,電遄歸,為之闍維,盡禮。太虛法師等,皆為文述其事。
一九〇、民國某縣圓覺庵尼印心傳CC001n0001_p0325a02(附.慧修、福修、印全、印微、緣修、恆修傳)
CC001n0001_p0325a03CC001n0001_p0325a04印心,劉仲華居士之胞姊。年十七,適費觀察之次子,越三載,CC001n0001_p0325a05生女慧修。是歲冬,夫病逝,乃嗣幼姪為子,守節撫孤。其翁姑以心CC001n0001_p0325a06母女剋夫剋父為不祥,皆深疾視,妯娌小姑復從而欺凌之。心含辛CC001n0001_p0325a07茹苦,忍受無怨言。及嗣子長成,竟不肖,媳尤悍,心稍加訓斥,即CC001n0001_p0325a08怒目反唇。乃歎曰:「有子若是,不如無子!予本無子而必以人子為CC001n0001_p0325a09子,本自尋煩惱。」既心冷望絕,癡夢頓覺,遂毅然攜女慧修、婢福CC001n0001_p0325a10修,同投圓覺庵披薙出家,求懺悔、了生死。迨其家屬知之,則母、女主CC001n0001_p0325a11婢三人,已俱現尼相,時心年三十五。明春,受具戒,即發願閉關,究CC001n0001_p0325a12閱法華、楞嚴、圓覺諸經。圓滿後,率慧、福二師歷朝四大名山,CC001n0001_p0325a13旋遊杭,禮雲棲蓮池大師塔。歸後,始日誦淨土諸經,晝夜念佛,專志CC001n0001_p0325a14淨土。
CC001n0001_p0326a01宣統二年,其師示寂,遺命令心繼席。初,庵中落髮、帶髮各聽自便,CC001n0001_p0326a02十一人中帶髮者五。自心主庵事,即時時以薙落之殊勝意義與利益CC001n0001_p0326a03勸告蓄髮諸人,於是印全、師首發心剃落。後月餘,印微師繼之。越三CC001n0001_p0326a04月,緣修、恆修二師又繼之。最後,印月師遂亦決心削染。及全體均落CC001n0001_p0326a05髮,心乃重整庵規,以後凡願入庵修行者,必須遵佛制如法剃度。並CC001n0001_p0326a06規定早晚課誦外,每日必齊集念佛三次,每次兩炷香。每年打佛七四CC001n0001_p0326a07次,在七期中念佛,日以十四炷香為度。心性仁慈公正,能遇人以恩,CC001n0001_p0326a08化人以德,故有所告誡,庵眾無不服。尤好行方便濟人急,庵東數CC001n0001_p0326a09百步,有寒士孫居士妻死,無以殮,將鬻其女。女年二八,甚端麗,CC001n0001_p0326a10富商某擬以巨金聘為小星。心聞之,立以百五十金贈孫居士,勸勿CC001n0001_p0326a11鬻女。女有慧根,感心恩,自請於心,願為徒,其父亦懇心收錄,俾CC001n0001_p0326a12得無累。心遂欣然為女薙髮,名曰樂修。乃父視女落髮後,即出家為CC001n0001_p0326a13僧。心善化度接引弟子,凡數十人,自課日以彌陀經七卷、往生咒二CC001n0001_p0326a14百十徧,佛號萬聲為定則。數十年中,雖病時亦不稍減,日中有事,CC001n0001_p0327a01則於深夜補足之。五十後,年必禁足三次,每次七日。於此期中,日食CC001n0001_p0327a02一餐,不倒單,不放參,日夜禮拜作觀,加行修持,求生淨土,而以CC001n0001_p0327a03功德回向眾生,願一切俱得度脫。
CC001n0001_p0327a04民國二十四年正月初,忽集眾尼而訓之曰:「爾等幸得人身、聞佛CC001n0001_p0327a05法,更幸而得度為尼作佛子,實為難遇之緣,希有之福,無上之榮。CC001n0001_p0327a06務須時時警策,保持出家人本分,嚴守戒規,力求精進,西方即在現CC001n0001_p0327a07前。望各好自為之,勤修勿懈。師徒兄弟之間,更須相見以誠,自處CC001n0001_p0327a08以忍,互勉以法,毋得懷私立異,分彼此、生厚薄、判親疏、論多寡,CC001n0001_p0327a09致啟爭競,為世俗譏,貽佛門羞。至囑!至囑!」言訖,朗聲念佛,眾CC001n0001_p0327a10尼和之。至翌晨,福修以粥進,心微搖首,仍默念佛號。至晚十時半,CC001n0001_p0327a11口不動而面仍含笑,慧修以手試之,息已止而體仍溫,眾始信心功行CC001n0001_p0327a12之深,為不可及。世壽七十六,臘四十一。荼毗時,燄發青蓮,異香四CC001n0001_p0327a13散,遠近見聞者罔不讚歎欽仰,痛自策勵。有章、賀二女士,且因CC001n0001_p0327a14心生西之奇瑞,而感發大心,亦來庵投慧修出家焉。
一九一、民國無錫普渡庵尼定雲傳(附.智能、定華傳)
CC001n0001_p0328a02CC001n0001_p0328a03定雲,丹陽江氏女,為定華尼之胞妹。華初生時,頂心腦後現有CC001n0001_p0328a04青記二,大如錢許;而雲則兩鬢各有一硃砂記,故其親名華曰雙青,CC001n0001_p0328a05名雲曰雙紅。雲年六歲,為匪以迷藥誘拐,展轉鬻為江陰吳氏婢,改CC001n0001_p0328a06名彩雲。性穎敏,頗得主人歡。稍長,念父母不置而家居何處,及父CC001n0001_p0328a07之名,胥不復省憶。其主固信佛,於淨室中供奉觀音,雲因發願持長CC001n0001_p0328a08齋,日禮大士,默求垂佑,得與二老相見。早晚必侍夫人誦普門品、CC001n0001_p0328a09大悲咒及菩薩名號,寒暑十更,志行不稍懈。夫人屢欲遣嫁,雲輒涕CC001n0001_p0328a10泣堅辭。年廿二,其主人吳居士患病甚苦,困頓牀褥逾半載,吳夫人CC001n0001_p0328a11聞無錫鄉間普渡庵大士最靈,因買舟率二女及雲前往求禱。先問住持CC001n0001_p0328a12尼智能師以所需,智能世家女,幼以多病出家,素具道行,不重財物。CC001n0001_p0328a13時適有一剃度弟子新示寂,因笑曰:「小庵略有薄產,出家人衣食粗足,CC001n0001_p0328a14更何所需?所缺者實惟徒耳。」夫人應曰:「外子病若起,當捨一小女CC001n0001_p0329a01於寶庵為尼。」遂許願而去。閱數旬大瘥,夫人乃詢兩女,孰願為父CC001n0001_p0329a02了願,兩女默然。夫人慍,雲獨趨前請曰:「婢子無知,願代小姐剃度,CC001n0001_p0329a03為夫人完此宏願。」夫人且喜且憐,慰之曰,爾志誠可嘉,但此乃大CC001n0001_p0329a04事,關係一生,宜三思而行,勿視為兒戲。雲曰:「薙髮披緇,婢自CC001n0001_p0329a05願之,誓不更變轉。原擬再侍夫人三五年然後請,今幸得此良機,CC001n0001_p0329a06實婢之萬幸,乞俯準毋慮。」夫人喜,即認雲為義女,函知智能師。CC001n0001_p0329a07會施主某新介紹一零丁孤苦之信佛小女,來廟出家,法名定寶,已CC001n0001_p0329a08擇定阿彌陀佛聖誕為落髮。智能師得書,因即請夫人速送雲來庵,俾CC001n0001_p0329a09與定寶同時剃度,免另擇日。夫人乃於先兩日陪雲趕赴庵中,
CC001n0001_p0329a10先是,雲之姊定華,奉父母命,十八歸莫氏,伉儷甚篤。婿有肺疾,CC001n0001_p0329a11婚後病日劇,卒不起;彌留之際,問華作何計?華謂當相從地下,其CC001n0001_p0329a12夫力阻,謂:「爾雙親俱存,烏可出此?且以身殉節,於我無益?守則CC001n0001_p0329a13非一朝一夕之事,為安全計,不若削髮入空門,學佛自懺,諷經度我,CC001n0001_p0329a14則節可完苦可拔,結果可勝善,勝於殉節多矣。」華即點首以應,CC001n0001_p0330a01婿死目不瞑,華乃翦髻置柩中,並默禱於靈,誓遵囑不相負。禱訖,目CC001n0001_p0330a02頓合。終七後,即投智能師座下剃度,其受比丘尼戒,猶不足兩年。CC001n0001_p0330a03當吳夫人來庵許願日,華適返里省親,至是始與雲相見。姊妹一別,已CC001n0001_p0330a04十有六年,形相既殊,口音又變,雲兩鬢之紅記,以髮尚未剃,掩而CC001n0001_p0330a05不顯;華則雖已削髮,因戴帽,其青記亦蔽而不彰。彼此初無從辨認,CC001n0001_p0330a06惟互詫容貌之肖似。及雲落髮時,由華為之代刀,將左鬢剃落後,紅CC001n0001_p0330a07記頓現。華固疑其為妹,見記驚喜,復剃右鬢之髮,果亦有記如左,CC001n0001_p0330a08乃確信此被剃者決為雙紅,不禁喜出望外。剃度禮成,即拉雲至無人CC001n0001_p0330a09處而詰之曰:「師弟乳名非雙紅耶?爾家有姊非名雙青耶?」曰:「然。CC001n0001_p0330a10顧師兄何以知之?」華為喜極墮淚,亟自脫其帽,則頂心腦後各有青CC001n0001_p0330a11記宛然,雲乃證知華即其胞姊雙青,相與抱頭大哭。既詢知兩親安健,CC001n0001_p0330a12則又大為忻悅。其師智能等知之,咸稱異作賀。午後,雲即隨華往視父CC001n0001_p0330a13母,其父遷錫經商已十餘年,所居在城中,離庵可十二三里。雲一CC001n0001_p0330a14見父母,即跪膝前痛哭。母初不解,及聞華言,方知此新落髮之少年CC001n0001_p0331a01尼,即其失蹤一十六載之愛女,狂喜幾疑入夢。
CC001n0001_p0331a02蓋雲失蹤後,母即茹素,每日必誦大士名號數百聲,祝女歸來。CC001n0001_p0331a03至是果得骨肉重逢,因愈信奉大士。謂兩女曰:「爾姊妹若不出家為尼,CC001n0001_p0331a04何能剃髮?若不將髮剃淨,互見青、紅二記,則手足相逢,亦不能相識。CC001n0001_p0331a05非菩薩靈感默佑,萬難致此!」由是姊妹二人同心修學,勵志行持,CC001n0001_p0331a06每間旬餘,必偕返省覲,以慰親心,如是者幾卅載。其長、次兄嫂皆能CC001n0001_p0331a07事親以孝,且受雲等之化,全家素食奉佛,所生女先後均捨令出家,CC001n0001_p0331a08從雲及華為尼。雲感吳夫人恩,歲趣一赴江陰探視。夫人之長女家貧CC001n0001_p0331a09而多生育,嫁後六年即以虛弱症死;次女所偶非人,家庭多故,鬱鬱CC001n0001_p0331a10以卒。臨終時,深悔當初不出家為尼,致得此悲慘不幸之惡果,而欽CC001n0001_p0331a11羨定雲不置。遺女一,纔能學語,由吳夫人攜歸撫養,其祖及父皆絕CC001n0001_p0331a12不問。夫人謝世,乃由雲納為徒,教養成人。年至十四,方為披剃,吳CC001n0001_p0331a13夫人遺囑以八百金給雲。民國六年,雲椿萱棄養,兄嫂輩又以兩老遺CC001n0001_p0331a14資三之一贈雲姊妹,雲及華悉以公之常住,買田供眾,絕不私蓄。CC001n0001_p0332a01雲自雙親謝世,足跡即不復入城市,與華同發願,閉關三載,加行修持,CC001n0001_p0332a02以報師德親恩。圓滿後,姊妹相伴,專心致志於淨業,過午不食,持戒CC001n0001_p0332a03愈精嚴。雲識字不多,而於經中文義,輒能了了,每聽說法,盡能領CC001n0001_p0332a04會。念佛不求多,念時必字字清晰,勸人念佛,必以心口俱念,勿雜CC001n0001_p0332a05妄想,並將功德回向淨土為言。其對檀越,惟以為善、戒殺、清心持名CC001n0001_p0332a06為勉,不及其他。
CC001n0001_p0332a07民國二十五年三月朔,雲起獨早,即登殿念佛。時天猶未曉,念CC001n0001_p0332a08未數句,忽見三聖像同時大放光明,急起至像前,頂禮無算。旋退歸原CC001n0001_p0332a09坐,念佛如故。迨徒眾起,雲乃率領課誦。課畢,眾請進早餐,雲搖首,CC001n0001_p0332a10告眾以所見,並云:「淨土因緣已熟,即今便當西去。」眾見其強健如CC001n0001_p0332a11恆,未敢信。雲從容沐浴更衣,然後合掌趺坐念彌陀經,至第九遍,CC001n0001_p0332a12忽一笑而逝。得壽六十八,臘四十七。其姊定華,先雲兩年示寂,臨終CC001n0001_p0332a13亦瑞相圓滿,蓋其功行,初不亞於雲也。
一九二、民國泰縣福善庵尼果願傳(附.常清傳)
CC001n0001_p0333a02CC001n0001_p0333a03果願,字本悅,東臺徐氏女。母曹氏,早歿,父芷江勤撫之。年十CC001n0001_p0333a04二,有出俗志,上命不許。祇作淨信女,居家修持,然出塵之念不稍CC001n0001_p0333a05渝。年十六,自翦其髮,截左手小指,並割臂肉以自誓。父為駭動,CC001n0001_p0333a06知非世網所能攖,善言慰喻,遣往江都磚橋放生庵,事刻經僧妙空大CC001n0001_p0333a07師而披削焉。入庵後,日夕禮誦,無或倦容。次年,往金山求具戒,後CC001n0001_p0333a08還庵精修。年二十九,妙公圓寂,徒眾雲散。願偕師弟常清,同心化CC001n0001_p0333a09導,隨緣益物。泰縣城內有福善庵,凋敝荒涼,數椽不支。願偶過其CC001n0001_p0333a10地,默為心傷,問之常清,常清曰:「兄若能慨任住持,弟當輔而興之。」CC001n0001_p0333a11於是進院安住,互勵苦行,歷二十餘年,清齋一食,戒德無虧,卒獲CC001n0001_p0333a12殿宇莊嚴,金容燦爛。雖資十方檀信共力護助,使非道德潛為感發,CC001n0001_p0333a13則善緣寧自集耶?
CC001n0001_p0334a01願功成不居,行持彌篤,數度掩關,密得受用。每日念彌陀數萬CC001n0001_p0334a02聲,更發願禮大般若經六百卷,是經文長意廣,閱讀尚難,而願持之CC001n0001_p0334a03以久,行之以堅,若不知有歲月者。至年七十,不復出關,長精淨業,CC001n0001_p0334a04兼修止觀,內證淺深,不以語人,人但以大心之士稱之。民國二十四CC001n0001_p0334a05年,壽八十四,略示微疾,口中默念不絕。人有來問疾者,目之而已,CC001n0001_p0334a06不為交一語。至六月二十四日圓寂,室中聞有蓮香,事傳遠近,皆稱CC001n0001_p0334a07異焉。
一九三、民國宜興海會塔院尼覺明傳
CC001n0001_p0335a02CC001n0001_p0335a03覺明,紹興世家女,俗名丁寶珠,畢業於上海城東女學文科。秀CC001n0001_p0335a04慧賢淑,為同學冠,五四運動時,嘗為該校出席上海學生聯合會代表。CC001n0001_p0335a05初與鑑湖秋俠善共唱革命,秋俠殉難,即代長協濟會。因清廷提捕CC001n0001_p0335a06急,乃遁跡春申,專志學佛。蓋在城東時,校長楊白民,教員李叔同,CC001n0001_p0335a07皆以學佛。稱校中女生,受楊、李感化頗眾,其中尤以明為最誠。明CC001n0001_p0335a08博學能文,深知經義,既得楊、李訓導,愈通曉佛法。後李叔同於武CC001n0001_p0335a09林剃度,即弘一律師也,明為詩送之,復於假期,親往叩訪,遂發心CC001n0001_p0335a10為尼。民國八年卒業後,留校任教務,常以學佛勸諸生,一時發願出CC001n0001_p0335a11家者頗不乏人。自則持齋念佛,日閱經籍,屢請於親,願聽許為尼。CC001n0001_p0335a12再三苦求,終不蒙允可,然明持志已決。念光陰有限,生死事大,昔CC001n0001_p0335a13世尊為求道法,亦嘗背親出家,乃毅然於民國九年秋,遺書留別家人CC001n0001_p0335a14親友,與其妹同遁至常熟雨花堂,依妙參禪師私行剃度。既落髮具戒,CC001n0001_p0336a01現比丘尼相,始返里省親求恕。自是,一心修學,並至武林等處各庵參CC001n0001_p0336a02訪,勇猛精進,不遺餘力。
CC001n0001_p0336a03民國十三年,掩關於上海圓覺庵,十五年四月八日圓滿,恭請諦閒CC001n0001_p0336a04法師說法啟關,男女居士到庵護法者,有王一亭、施省之、狄平子等CC001n0001_p0336a05百餘人。出關後,親近諦、應二老,深究台、賢宗旨。時妙師住宜興海CC001n0001_p0336a06會,每往修省,授以六部禪法。及妙師示寂,追念出世之恩,結茅守CC001n0001_p0336a07塔三年,風雨凍餓,淡然若忘;禮誦之餘,探討楞嚴,能背誦正文,CC001n0001_p0336a08科判綱宗。期滿,到處宏法,提振末學。二十六年春,聞四明張聖慧女CC001n0001_p0336a09士於奉化創辦法昌佛學院,瓶鉢而往,一見以道義相契,即於學院CC001n0001_p0336a10開講楞嚴。令每人各依一種註解先講演一徧,明則披剝其瑕疵,抉CC001n0001_p0336a11擇其是非,採取其精華,補充其不足,以圓滿其說。復任學員徵語辯CC001n0001_p0336a12難,妙義重重,泉涌瀾翻。由名相而教義,由教義而宗趣,窮源竟委,CC001n0001_p0336a13曲盡其奧。聖慧時叩以禪旨,偶一不契,則痛罵熱喝不稍假,往來敲CC001n0001_p0336a14唱,偈語成冊。眾信士欲請為法昌住持,明曰:「住持一事,余於諸方CC001n0001_p0337a01卻之屢矣,汝等擬桎梏余耶?余臥榻住久,尚思遷移,恐境界太熟,CC001n0001_p0337a02而生留戀想也。」卒掉臂不顧。明冬不圍爐,夏不揮扇,不赴宴會,CC001n0001_p0337a03不看雜書,渴飲晨盥,皆用冷水,孤懷凜凜,罕與其匹。七七事變前,CC001n0001_p0337a04勸聖慧同隱峨眉,聖慧不從,乃獨自至蘇州,居鄉間小庵,二十八年CC001n0001_p0337a05五月示寂。
一九四、民國新安靈雲寺尼能修傳
CC001n0001_p0338a02CC001n0001_p0338a03能修,順德人,年三十五,於新安觀音山靈雲寺出家。志切朝山,CC001n0001_p0338a04不憚跋涉,國內各大名剎,強半有其足跡。初,於民國八年,率徒等五CC001n0001_p0338a05人,由上海乘船,溯江至南京。渡江後,步行經安徽、江蘇、山東、CC001n0001_p0338a06河北四省而至北平。居彼中兩月,繼續向西進發,身旁既無分文,亦CC001n0001_p0338a07無乾糧,沿途乞食。經河北、山西禮拜五臺,復由陝西西安穿行四CC001n0001_p0338a08川全省,親拜峨嵋、雞足等山。初,聞五族之西藏為一佛教國,上自CC001n0001_p0338a09政府,下及人民,無不信仰崇奉,漢人因其道路窵遠,言語隔閡,往CC001n0001_p0338a10來者絕少。能修羨慕之餘,誓欲一覘其實。當其發足之先,群來勸阻,CC001n0001_p0338a11語極危聳。能修飭從者五人,掩耳勿聽,曰:「毋亂爾心。」遂取道打箭CC001n0001_p0338a12爐,西向拉薩。前後所經,不下七十餘站,由國民軍聯軍總司令部蓋CC001n0001_p0338a13印于其度牒,以便通行。川軍楊、鄧諸軍長,雅安道孚,康定鑪霍、稻CC001n0001_p0338a14城甘孜各縣知事,四川、西康兩省佛教會會長,均於其牒後署名。CC001n0001_p0339a01途中大半步行,間以牛馬土車代步,渡水登山,均皆赤足。經過不少CC001n0001_p0339a02繩索橋樑,橋長數千丈,只容一人行走,懸空繫置,甚為危險。經過CC001n0001_p0339a03藥山,滿山皆藥,過者多氣呢不能進,修皆冒險闖過。至雪山時,雪CC001n0001_p0339a04深及膝,數日不見一人一屋,從者畏泣,能修挈長徒冒雪獨先,不稍CC001n0001_p0339a05反顧。夜則擁氈踞地,晨起視五人猶在,仍賈勇而西。
CC001n0001_p0339a06既至拉薩,達賴喇嘛嘉其萬里來朝聖地,親自接見,頒給拄杖,CC001n0001_p0339a07長約英尺五尺六寸,為烏木所成,雕刻極精,文彩耀目,與真金無異。CC001n0001_p0339a08能修與徒參訪頂禮,學習藏語及藏文經咒,在彼略住。於民國十九年,CC001n0001_p0339a09仍步行經西康反川,行至湖北宜昌,為怡和公司襄和輪船執事所知,CC001n0001_p0339a10特予免費載能修等到滬,至一尼庵暫住。問其歲,已六十二矣,最少者CC001n0001_p0339a11二十五六。時威音佛刊社,聞彼等苦行,特往訪問,延至社中,請CC001n0001_p0339a12彼演講。能修因述:「予中年出家,因深感女人痛苦,發願廣度女界同胞,CC001n0001_p0339a13是以遠涉山海,訪善知識。予固不識字者,常自普陀負六十華嚴,北登CC001n0001_p0339a14五臺,既不能誦讀,乃於佛前涕泣長跪,一旦若有悟焉,遂得溜覽竟CC001n0001_p0340a01業,并誦法華、般若、金光明諸經。西藏之行,亦可謂得無所得,勝CC001n0001_p0340a02事機緣,不一具述。予本欲留藏不歸,二三同行,謂如不歸,有違初CC001n0001_p0340a03願。今經滬上,稍事摒擋,仍將入印。予有切勸與諸女人者,以予經CC001n0001_p0340a04歷,深信女人必能成佛。雖云女人多障,亦不過要女人發大心耳。亦CC001n0001_p0340a05唯女人苦惱多於男子,故女人發心必誠切於男子,女人當自念其苦,CC001n0001_p0340a06發心亦自必誠切」云云。能修後至西安,西安久無尼僧叢林,官紳居士,CC001n0001_p0340a07議改東關罔極寺以為之倡,欲擇有德臘者主之。眾以非能修莫屬,遂CC001n0001_p0340a08於民國二十四年三月一日,公送入院。能修既任住持,首即率眾結七,CC001n0001_p0340a09士女隨喜者甚夥,各方對之均抱好感。預料前途,將有更大之發展,CC001n0001_p0340a10尼僧之綱紀,必倚之而獲振也。
一九五、民國江寧保國庵尼識參傳(附.月華傳)
CC001n0001_p0341a02CC001n0001_p0341a03識參,字修慧,宛平陳氏女,父松庭,家世簪纓,有兄妹各一。CC001n0001_p0341a04光緒初年,時以入都引見,舉室北上,旅次金陵下關。父染疾而卒,CC001n0001_p0341a05母魏氏,動循矩法,素具道力,修持有定課,更擅岐黃術。設室凡來CC001n0001_p0341a06就診,不論男女老幼,皆導以佛法,諸善信供養所得,則取資貧寒、CC001n0001_p0341a07賴以舉火者,實繁有徒。後無意於塵事,決志芟染,法名月華,於金CC001n0001_p0341a08川門外寶塔橋荒廢庵基,自建保國庵,一心念道,閉關二十餘載之久。CC001n0001_p0341a09關高五尺餘,寬深約二尺餘,終日靜坐習定,苦行昭著。參幼受家教,CC001n0001_p0341a10早解經義。稍長,懇求披剃,乞具千華律院。期圓之後,歸庵盡孝養職。CC001n0001_p0341a11及母中道逝世,傷感於懷,師弟修淨諳於內務,益以董成門庭重責,CC001n0001_p0341a12有難擔荷,不得已接替住持。愈益奮勉,拈勤儉二字為訓,勗勉CC001n0001_p0341a13徒眾。佛課之餘,治理雜務,嘗曰:「古來大善知識,尚且一日不作、CC001n0001_p0341a14一日不食;余輩何人,敢耽逸樂?須知操臼井、灌園蔬,下逮米鹽CC001n0001_p0342a01瑣屑、補浣漿刮,無非般若實相。親切功夫,豈盡在蒲團、禪板間哉!」CC001n0001_p0342a02辛勤既久,漸有餘裕,了先師志願,建觀音殿、伽藍殿,又添造市房五CC001n0001_p0342a03拾餘間,並陸續置田數百畝,氣象蒸蒸,冠冕一境。時清社既屋,政CC001n0001_p0342a04體混亂,新舊遞更,外人乘勢侵入。競設商鋪,攫取利權,一般昧良之CC001n0001_p0342a05會長總董輩,為金錢麻醉,不惜喪失人格,供其驅使,甚至擅作威福,CC001n0001_p0342a06壓迫民眾。
CC001n0001_p0342a07民國二年,有英商和記洋行,以庵址及庵塘三面環邇該行,擬吞合CC001n0001_p0342a08為一,遂萌覬覦庵產之念。買辦期於必成,因以亟加煎迫,英人紀大CC001n0001_p0342a09阪,更迭加嚇詐,逼令拆屋讓地。參素具識略,不為所屈,一再辯之CC001n0001_p0342a10以理,彼遂怏怏而去。嗣竟變本加厲,強拆庵房三間,鋸樹灌水,屋CC001n0001_p0342a11瓦且為水力激射四散。其徒等恪遵師訓,舍生維護庵產。行方欲臨之CC001n0001_p0342a12以兵,雖未為所劫,然其時殘暴不仁之象,可以想見。地產經理周匯CC001n0001_p0342a13川,以庵址庵塘未得就緒,心有未甘,復為虎作倀,與地方士紳龍永CC001n0001_p0342a14成等設計進行,以必達其完全目的為願。時永成之子與江寧縣長左有CC001n0001_p0343a01金蘭誼,風雲際會,炙手可熱。先是,地方人士,屢擬盜賣庵塘,究以CC001n0001_p0343a02呼乏將伯有所未能。至是乃相慶彈冠,對庵方則由縣長親臨威嚇,迫CC001n0001_p0343a03使就範;對庵塘則由縣長批示許可,准由伊等出賣,無不得心應手。CC001n0001_p0343a04滿意挾雷霆萬鈞之力,自可為所欲為,然參以「先人基業,何可委棄」,CC001n0001_p0343a05力排萬難,訴之交涉,使並地方法院各機關。其時當道,有主張公道者,CC001n0001_p0343a06有懾於和記勢力者,表示遂各有區別。主張公正者,則一秉大公,其CC001n0001_p0343a07他迭次催請審理,不加聞問者有之,勸參出售庵產者有之,甚至惱羞成CC001n0001_p0343a08怒,將預審終結庵塘收歸國有者有之。相持多年,卒也撥雲霧而見青CC001n0001_p0343a09天,最後判決將原塘發還,盜賣庵塘者,判處徒刑六月。執行六年之CC001n0001_p0343a10久,始得告一段落。
CC001n0001_p0343a11民國十六年,北伐成功,新體機關,賡續產生。有所謂農民協會CC001n0001_p0343a12者,誣指南門外曹馬村自置之庵田內七拾餘畝,為佔自民家。江寧知CC001n0001_p0343a13縣周浩不察始末,認為尼眾懦弱可欺,令參賠償三千金。參不服,CC001n0001_p0343a14立下諸獄。乃紛呈各機關呼籲,迨經特種刑事法庭時,始辯白真相。CC001n0001_p0344a01如此數十年,涉訟計達五十五次,無非保持庵基田產之安全而已。同CC001n0001_p0344a02時世風之惡,人心之險,於此可以概見。
CC001n0001_p0344a03二十六年,中日戰事暴發,京滬沿線居民紛紛避難,流離失所。CC001n0001_p0344a04參本佛陀救世悲心,組設下關寶塔橋紅萬卍字會難民收容所,先後容CC001n0001_p0344a05納老弱婦孺一萬餘人,維持百餘日始解散,聞者皆義其事。參更領導CC001n0001_p0344a06徒眾,每日諷誦經典,超拔陣亡將士,以及罹難民眾,冀其仗承佛力CC001n0001_p0344a07出離苦海。棲霞為六朝名剎,洪、楊之後,得、法、意宗仰若舜諸上人CC001n0001_p0344a08興之,若舜之嗣,有寂然者,盡心職守,行所難行。嘗為護持山地,搆CC001n0001_p0344a09怨於鄉村師範及不良之徒,致身經七番冤獄。參以其平時於寺方工程CC001n0001_p0344a10之監督,人事之調整,亦已煞費苦心,維護寺院,又遭此顛沛苦境,CC001n0001_p0344a11對之深致欽佩。故於中頗效奔馳,精神物質之犧牲,皆所不計。即以CC001n0001_p0344a12棲霞寺購田所需,由寂然請,由參所經手,代借之款不下數千金,復勸CC001n0001_p0344a13信士陳海清施莊田地等二百餘畝,自亦施莊田地等二百六拾餘畝,CC001n0001_p0344a14永為常住海眾齋糧。
CC001n0001_p0345a01三拾年春,山中擬舉行戒事,以食糧之缺,有所未能,商之於參,CC001n0001_p0345a02乃為助米五拾餘石以玉成之。寺主明常和尚感其護教熱忱,除已於白CC001n0001_p0345a03乳泉上為卜壽藏,並庵中尼眾塔地兩處外,更擬請名筆著其事於貞CC001n0001_p0345a04珉,用垂不朽。參年六拾餘,精神強健,願力宏深,將來所建事業,CC001n0001_p0345a05仍未可以限量也。
一九六、民國泰縣靜修庵尼本道傳
CC001n0001_p0346a02CC001n0001_p0346a03本道,泰縣羅塘王氏女。幼聰慧,舉止閑雅,能博堂上所歡,二CC001n0001_p0346a04老視如寧馨兒,對之頗抱奢望。利其稟賦,擇師課讀,不煩督策,而自CC001n0001_p0346a05警惕。以其餘兼習女紅,比肩嬌小,皆不如也。年及笄,媒妁禮成,CC001n0001_p0346a06未嫁而夫婿夭折,道即毀容盡哀,要求過門守節,家庭力阻之,不獲CC001n0001_p0346a07明其素襟。於是裏衣悉易麤麻,短其髮,投邑鄉之靜修庵,與香火為CC001n0001_p0346a08緣。父母不忍重拂其志,恣其所行。道聞之,沾沾自喜,即於佛前圓CC001n0001_p0346a09頂披解脫服矣。入庵之初,尊師重道,矯然自拔,終日修禪作觀,CC001n0001_p0346a10唪佛持經,每至油乾香燼,猶未就寢。所居一室,供事聖像,晨夕禮CC001n0001_p0346a11拜,維謹維勤,歷數十年,足跡陷地深入寸許。傳者互驚為異,競CC001n0001_p0346a12來瞻謁,尊為優鉢羅花,誠為希有之瑞也。
CC001n0001_p0346a13先是,庵之殿宇,年久失修,金容亦復殘剝。民國六年,道盡出撙CC001n0001_p0346a14節餘貲,召集梓塑,會工修理。檀信多樂為外應,獨其師洪樂,老耄CC001n0001_p0347a01昏瞶,性情磔傲,見其土木繁興,竊加非難,然亦不能言之成理。雖CC001n0001_p0347a02欲阻撓,無辭可藉,惟目非而心銜之。輒恃名分之尊,遇以非禮,甚CC001n0001_p0347a03則焚香誦經之際,猶復指桃罵李以亂之。道裦如充耳,奉事如故,里CC001n0001_p0347a04人咸稱其孝。至於行苦之篤,建造之功,則又足以感愧如來之稗販矣。
一九七、民國上海龍音寺尼能圓傳
CC001n0001_p0348a02CC001n0001_p0348a03能圓,字慧明,上海人。自幼信佛,年十六茹素,三十六薙髮。CC001n0001_p0348a04時浦東一區,佛法凋零,信向者少。有妙心禪宿,杖錫來化,曲垂導CC001n0001_p0348a05引,剖示念佛法門,每集眾開講,言存激發,剴切動人。因之投誠皈CC001n0001_p0348a06依者,與日俱增,圓受薰陶,即依披剃。宣統元年,建東興庵。民國三CC001n0001_p0348a07年春,至鎮江竹林寺法舟和尚座下受具。六年,又建金匯庵,獎勸諸善CC001n0001_p0348a08女人切志學佛。嘗曰:「生死,吾人之大敵也,一切眾生皆久困垓下。CC001n0001_p0348a09若不堅苦行以為鎧甲,勤修持以為戈矛,欲思突出重圍,必不可得。」CC001n0001_p0348a10晚年,建龍音寺,道聲籍甚。二十六年秋後示疾,八月十九日寂,壽六CC001n0001_p0348a11十二。
一九八、民國上海慈修庵尼諦參傳(附.道願傳)
CC001n0001_p0349a02CC001n0001_p0349a03諦參,字永薰,香山黃氏女。弱齡父母鍾愛,因其好食乳雞,每CC001n0001_p0349a04餐必為具之,習久成慣。初不覺其非,一日,倚枕午睡,矇矓中墮入水CC001n0001_p0349a05溝,身陷淤泥,將欲自拔,忽有無數乳雞來啄其體。驚避,既不可能,CC001n0001_p0349a06呼救又難出聲,嗚咽掙扎,半晌方醒。怔忡之餘,深悟因果,循環報CC001n0001_p0349a07應不爽。物命雖微,含冤則一,從此非但不食乳雞,並禁絕其他魚肉,CC001n0001_p0349a08而萌出家學佛之念。適有江蘇尼道願大德,雲遊過粵,與其母雅有舊CC001n0001_p0349a09誼,暫寓其家。參默喜因緣成熟,直白其情,雖經父母呵斥,親族規CC001n0001_p0349a10勸,終不能阻其勇往之志。遂於數日內,略事摒擋,徧辭親友,侍道CC001n0001_p0349a11願大德之錫而東。光緒二十一年春,年二十一,往金陵寶華受戒,期CC001n0001_p0349a12中聞得戒浩淨長老及闍黎大霖律師開示法要,極有心得。乃發菩提心,CC001n0001_p0349a13徧禮名山,參訪知識。二十三年,止杭州法藏庵,被選為住持。歷十餘CC001n0001_p0349a14寒暑,領眾焚修,化導閨幃。復兼住城內清蓮庵,斯時民軍起義,人CC001n0001_p0350a01心惶動。參惟率眾行持,使同住道侶、鄰近婦孺皆一心向道,度險CC001n0001_p0350a02如夷。由是自邇至遠,談佛門,近事者,莫不知有法藏庵主其人焉。
CC001n0001_p0350a03民國十三年,年五十歲,移錫滬上,受請住慈修庵。修理房屋,CC001n0001_p0350a04整飭紀綱,精神視昔有加。自課專誦蓮經,一門深入,終年不懈。遇CC001n0001_p0350a05有以佛法請者,隨舉經中一句一偈,為之巧譬旁解,頭頭是道,雖寶CC001n0001_p0350a06座中人,未易過也。徒眾心一等,默受身教,咸循軌範。二十七年四CC001n0001_p0350a07月,參以疾而臥,正念自持,毫不呻吟,口中仍念法華不輟。至初七CC001n0001_p0350a08日,命取所誦法華置案前,直視不瞬,移時而寂。人皆謂之默誦未終,CC001n0001_p0350a09為欲對境提撕,以盡其卷者;亦有謂之對本作觀,而證取法華三昧者。CC001n0001_p0350a10要之,最後吃緊關頭,心無惑亂,非平時工夫得當,決不可以強致也。CC001n0001_p0350a11時戒臘四十三,俗臘六十四。
一九九、民國武進淨觀庵尼天正傳
CC001n0001_p0351a02CC001n0001_p0351a03天正,一名宏嚴,字雲開,靖江鄭氏女。母黃太夫人,艱於嗣,CC001n0001_p0351a04及得正,珍逾珠玉。聞諺稱「有慧而難永」之說,隱以為憂,商之姨母勝CC001n0001_p0351a05林上人,願捨輪下,歸敬福田。勝林主武進圓通庵,持律重道,見正CC001n0001_p0351a06舉止閒靜,卜為法器。試曰:「汝年幾何?」答曰:「六歲。」林曰:「汝CC001n0001_p0351a07何以肯離生母而來依余?」答曰:「佛有前例,某故效之。」林曰:「佛CC001n0001_p0351a08有生母見背,故依姨母。汝今不同,其意何在?」答曰:「姨母處有佛CC001n0001_p0351a09法,願就學焉。」林頷之,極意撫育。先在鄉塾課讀,因無良師,復CC001n0001_p0351a10寄淨觀庵託澄照上人代為教誡。民國八年,年十九,往鎮江焦山乞CC001n0001_p0351a11具。其母見兒出家,圓登戒品,道念精純,認為人生第一快事,每沾CC001n0001_p0351a12沾自喜。一日,偶遊武進北鄉三元寺,若有所觸,力求寺主薙髮。身心CC001n0001_p0351a13精進,無間朝夕。二十年,發心圓戒,二壇未畢而寂。時正護戒焦山,CC001n0001_p0351a14不勝悲痛,長跪諸闍黎前,懇修懺法,代圓篇聚。火餘拾骨,安塔黃CC001n0001_p0352a01山,人皆稱其孝。正久親應慈講主,聽習華嚴圓頓法門,悟解玄旨,CC001n0001_p0352a02為人演說,儼然日光園中一會未散。後受澄照之法,主持庵務,改造CC001n0001_p0352a03山門,修理廊壁,闢念佛堂,率眾行持。並掩關三載,禮華嚴大經全CC001n0001_p0352a04部,自誓一俟時局平靖,更朝禮諸大名山云。
二〇〇、民國青陽心安寺尼觀願傳
CC001n0001_p0353a02CC001n0001_p0353a03觀願,字佛行,海澄人,俗名秀霞,楊先烈衢雲之季女。衢雲因CC001n0001_p0353a04奔走革命,遭清廷忌,逮之甚急,乃挈眷居日本。光緒二十五年,生CC001n0001_p0353a05願于橫濱。年十歲回籍,入庇理羅士女書院肄業,常因病曠課。於學CC001n0001_p0353a06無進。既而其父為人狙擊殞命,重以家境蕭條,遂爾輟學。然願讀書CC001n0001_p0353a07之志頗堅,不肯自餒,謀投實踐女校修業。校長以其為革命遺屬,免CC001n0001_p0353a08納學金。願既得受課,識解卓絕,秀出常人,每念生父以身殉國,未CC001n0001_p0353a09成碩果,輒為之嗚咽不置,默以木蘭、雲英自期許。年十九,母氏潘CC001n0001_p0353a10卒後,兄佐治亦相繼棄世,煢形踽步,不勝淒涼之感。先是,港地多耶CC001n0001_p0353a11穌教會,願往聞之,未愜於心。及聞佛教典籍,言理精闢,且有「一CC001n0001_p0353a12子出家,九族超生」之說,心懷嚮往。於是,日以香花之屬,供禱大士CC001n0001_p0353a13之前,至誠發願,默祝早遇明師,成就出俗因緣。如是者三年,歷訪CC001n0001_p0353a14諸方名宿,請求法要,解悟日深。然時俗以學佛為恥,於出家事,碍CC001n0001_p0354a01難出諸口。間有宴會,唯擇蔬而進,不忍涉及肉味,戚友有疑之者,CC001n0001_p0354a02則以素食衛生對。民十一年二十四,持志已決,作辭婚詩云:「提起CC001n0001_p0354a03神鋒劍太阿,情根斬斷出虞羅。親恩未報肝腸斷,青磬紅[木*魚]禮佛陀。」CC001n0001_p0354a04乃于九華文殊峰心安寺乞智妙禪師剃染,翌年至寶華具足,效古人CC001n0001_p0354a05行腳,囊鉢煙水之湄,親近弘一律師暨諸名德。曾于香港佛學會任通CC001n0001_p0354a06俗演講,兼義學教授,蓮花池講小本彌陀,并編製四分律比丘尼戒相CC001n0001_p0354a07表記。二十六年,中日事變,竄身心安祖剎,任監院職。禪誦之餘,CC001n0001_p0354a08經行溪谷,幽巖花放,古樹禽啼,不覺觸發吟思,天然成韻,冰清雪CC001n0001_p0354a09潔,有越徹遺音。數年之間,青陽士女,歸信甚多,謂其不但以學識CC001n0001_p0354a10見長,其行苦精修,尤為一般尼眾所不可企及云。

CC001n0001_p0355a02CC001n0001_p0355a03觀夫宇宙之內,即物成象,萬類森然。雖有聰敏睿智,猶不免恍CC001n0001_p0355a04惚迷離,況更竪窮源流,橫徹邊表,能一一體究之乎?古人記之以書,CC001n0001_p0355a05類之以史,不過僅就知者而言,其為耳目所不及者,當不知其幾。佛CC001n0001_p0355a06法流入中國,已歷千數百年,其間門庭施設,宗統傳承,皆有史傳可CC001n0001_p0355a07考。獨比丘尼,自梁寶唱法師一度採訪編集而後,迄未有人續纘其緒。CC001n0001_p0355a08吾師 震上人覃擘經籍,留心掌故,為欲繼往開來,爰有倡修續傳之議。CC001n0001_p0355a09丁丑夏書成,忽發現施蟄群先生於學生雜誌發表黃心大師一文,引言CC001n0001_p0355a10謂北平某藏書家,庋有明鈔本比丘尼傳八卷,因喜眎塵曰:「此八軸靈CC001n0001_p0355a11文,非繼唱公而作乎?如能設法借得,余書將改製矣!」或仿石埭居士CC001n0001_p0355a12僧傳之例,而以初二、三集別之。時適淞滬戰事暴發,未及調查,而CC001n0001_p0355a13夾山藏書皆燬於火,傳稿又為一同學攜失於途。嗟夫!尼門文獻可CC001n0001_p0355a14徵而不可傳,大法其將衰乎?且喜吾師深浴教海,才智兼人,平時逆CC001n0001_p0356a01推往事,如數家珍,當屬此稿,又復三致其意,印象之深,如鍥如銘。CC001n0001_p0356a02塵不忍埋沒此段光明,一日山居無事,乘間理及此案,並以重輯請。CC001n0001_p0356a03結果仰獲慈允,命筆追記。終以收藏損失,購借兩難,每於一傳,只CC001n0001_p0356a04能憶其名而不能證其文。為此問題橫梗於前,不覺延長歲月,直至今CC001n0001_p0356a05日,始能樂觀厥成。其經歷之難,用心之苦,惟(塵)等朝夕侍座知之,故CC001n0001_p0356a06略述因緣於後。並有二事敬告:一、凡讀是書者,當作難遭之想,勿CC001n0001_p0356a07生輕慢。二、吾師繼是書之著,關於比丘尼者,尚有三種,皆在稿中,CC001n0001_p0356a08如遇因緣,即可問世云。
