J39nB461_p0766b07師以拄杖指龕,云:「生本無生,枯木花開越樣新;死木J39nB461_p0766b08不死,瞿耶落月扶桑起。恭惟圓寂法忍律師不能空J39nB461_p0766b09寂,洞達無生,若片雲點於太清,布陽春生於暖谷。或J39nB461_p0766b10悲或喜,咸稱自性彌陀;屈指成拳,覿示本來戒相。今J39nB461_p0766b11朝功圓行滿,得便還家,末後慇懃,踢番覺路。且道封J39nB461_p0766b12龕一句又作麼生?」以拄杖橫一橫,云:「封。」
為鐵舟禪師上供
J39nB461_p0766b14拈香罷,卓拄杖,云:「生不生,死不死,生死何曾離這裡?J39nB461_p0766b15而今面目儼然在,匝地清風吹不已。吹不已,實可憐,J39nB461_p0766b16隴頭花折一枝殘,離離香散遊人少,留得梅稍月自J39nB461_p0766b17看。」
本師隱老和尚計音至,領眾上供
J39nB461_p0766b19拈香,云:「昔年被師瞞多少,冷地思量恨轉深,今日瓣J39nB461_p0766b20香呈後供,報恩何似報冤親?且道冤作麼生報?」遂豎J39nB461_p0766b21起拳,震威一喝,云:「老人面目現在,兩序大眾為我證J39nB461_p0766b22明。」
為峽山禪師封龕
J39nB461_p0766b24師云:「數載辛苦,漸漸葺成保社,一條拄杖凜凜撐拄J39nB461_p0766b25門庭,眾檀咸以歡心,過客無不讚歎,奈因宿業未了,J39nB461_p0766b26魔障隨身,挽臂相持,痛錐徹骨,正所謂道:高一尺,魔J39nB461_p0766b27高一丈。到此田地,只得豁開本地風光,放出自家手J39nB461_p0766b28段,生死關頭盡底掀番,人我山峻一齊推倒,有佛處J39nB461_p0766b29不得住,藏身處沒蹤跡,無佛處急走過,沒蹤跡處莫J39nB461_p0766b30藏身。若與麼去,不妨坦然自由,逍遙快樂。且道封龕J39nB461_p0766c01一句又作麼生?重重錦縫無尋處,一道神光覿面看。」
為龔氏三鼓下火
J39nB461_p0766c03師以拄杖擊棺三下,云:「醒醒著,莫瞌睡,聽我說無生,J39nB461_p0766c04連漏頻催促。金雞聲碎,皓月當空,清風匝地。不是心,J39nB461_p0766c05不是物,片玉峰頭雲一突。山是山,水是水,其中消息J39nB461_p0766c06誰能委?若向這裏會得,便知自己本命元辰落處。」遂J39nB461_p0766c07以火炬摵一摵,云:「火裏蟭螟吞大虫,通身湧出光明J39nB461_p0766c08聚。」
為超淵火
J39nB461_p0766c10師舉火炬云:「孤迥迥,峭巍巍,圓陀陀,光灼灼。諸人到J39nB461_p0766c11此,只合傍觀,獨許超淵,一回親證。所以火燄為三世J39nB461_p0766c12諸佛說法,三世諸佛立地聽。敢問諸人:說又說於何J39nB461_p0766c13法?聽又聽個什麼?」遂攛火炬云:「通身勝熱太風流,觸J39nB461_p0766c14著些兒真快活。」
為覺聞禪人火
J39nB461_p0766c16師拈火炬,云:「汝本徽州人,今作他鄉客,偶爾撞將來,J39nB461_p0766c17這裡酬宿債。宿債既酬,且道安身立命又向什麼處J39nB461_p0766c18去?」攛火炬,云:「脫殼烏龜飛上天,泥牛踏破澄潭月。」
為了念禪德封龕
J39nB461_p0766c20師云:「出家道流當以忍苦修行利俗為要,口喫施主J39nB461_p0766c21飯,身穿檀信衣,貴乎頂𩕳一著透脫,腳跟下本分事J39nB461_p0766c22清徹,然後入廛垂手,應物隨機,利己利人,彼此事辦,J39nB461_p0766c23乃至臨末稍頭,去住自出,則不被塵境所惑。脫或依J39nB461_p0766c24俙越國,彷彿楊州,莽莽蕩蕩,無果無因,儱儱侗侗,誤J39nB461_p0766c25人誤己,於生死關頭不破,無常殺鬼來追,時節做手J39nB461_p0766c26腳不迭。」遂高聲呼云:「了念禪德!此是山僧真實為汝J39nB461_p0766c27分明說破,汝還知麼?汝還覺麼?選佛場中留不住,卻J39nB461_p0766c28來這裡便安身,身前縱有千言好,怎似臨行一句親?J39nB461_p0766c29且道如何是臨行一句?」以手向北指云:「為君指出臺J39nB461_p0766c30山路,撒手飄然驀直行。」

J39nB461_p0767a02舉火炬打圓相,云:「了無所了君須了,即念離念無別J39nB461_p0767a03念,而今了念契無生,直至菩提光燦爛。」
福嚴隱老和尚三周上供
J39nB461_p0767a05拈香,云:「大眾!今日是我老和尚忌辰之日,雖是常住J39nB461_p0767a06淡薄,無可表陳,不免炊金牛飯、煎雲門餅、烹趙州茶、J39nB461_p0767a07沽曹山酒,惟願和尚光臨納受,不謂酬恩報德,要見J39nB461_p0767a08末後慇懃。不肖臻更操後絃琴、唱無生曲、打禾山鼓、J39nB461_p0767a09輥雪峰毬以為供養,省儉實是省儉、熱鬧亦為熱鬧,J39nB461_p0767a10敢道古今未有?似不肖如此真實供養、酬恩報德且J39nB461_p0767a11止,畢竟以何為孝道?」復炷香,云:「以此為孝道。」
為維摩天則法兄和尚封龕
J39nB461_p0767a13師至龕前,以拄杖卓一卓,云:「瞿曇四月八日生,汝何J39nB461_p0767a14四月八日死?雖然生死不同途,究竟同歸解脫海。恭J39nB461_p0767a15惟天則大禪師,昔承師命,主席維摩,數年化道,琴水J39nB461_p0767a16傳聲,一旦飄然,虞山失色。薰風堆裡摘楊花,撒手圓J39nB461_p0767a17成末後句,直得藏身處沒蹤跡,沒蹤跡處且藏身。且J39nB461_p0767a18道封龕一句又作麼生?全體蹔將雲片合,金棺不必J39nB461_p0767a19未雙足。」
塔銘
J39nB461_p0767a21康熙十七年冬,臨濟宗三十二世性空臻禪師告寂J39nB461_p0767a22於京師龍泉寺。越明年正月,門人超曉等用其法闍J39nB461_p0767a23維,火燼之餘,四齒不壞,得五色舍利子凡三百餘顆。J39nB461_p0767a24法眾見者咸流涕太息,謂師之道行為希有也。超曉J39nB461_p0767a25將函其骨南歸,乃持道安靜禪師所撰行狀乞銘師J39nB461_p0767a26之塔。師常訪予寓舍,予見師眉目蒼秀,脊骨稜稜出J39nB461_p0767a27衣表,與語簡澹有味,方欲援以為方外交,而不意其J39nB461_p0767a28遽逝矣。予悵然久之,因是不敢以不文為解。按狀:師J39nB461_p0767a29諱行臻,字性空,代州人,姓邊氏。母韓,夢金牛入懷而J39nB461_p0767a30娠。弱不茹葷,好靜坐。甫十餘歲,薙髮為僧,遍遊諸方J39nB461_p0767b01者數年。聞天童密雲老和尚法席之盛,往受具戒,咨J39nB461_p0767b02決生死大事。問:「生從何來?」和尚棒云:「即今從何處來?」J39nB461_p0767b03進云:「從堂中來。」和尚又棒云:「既從堂中來,還歸堂中J39nB461_p0767b04去。」師茫然。其後聞山石崩墜有聲,始有省。復求印證,J39nB461_p0767b05和尚連棒趁出。以而遊楊州福緣菴,閱大藏經,得雲J39nB461_p0767b06門語錄中語,恍然見密老和尚大機大用,覺情與無J39nB461_p0767b07情悉在自己光明中顯現。欲復往依之,而值密老和J39nB461_p0767b08尚遷化,遂走謁費隱老和尚於金粟寺。費和尚即密J39nB461_p0767b09和尚授法大弟子也,命充監院。如是十三年,深加器J39nB461_p0767b10重,曰:「先師之道,賴子不孤矣。」而師猶不欲以出世目J39nB461_p0767b11炫也,棲止崑山陳氏廢園中。頹垣老屋,饘粥不給,恬J39nB461_p0767b12然不為意。踰五年,徒似漸集,檀施亦不遠數百里而J39nB461_p0767b13來。於是創建殿堂樓閣,及方丈之室、香積之廚,無不J39nB461_p0767b14悉備。琱礱丹黝,冠於一邑,巍然稱寶坊矣。乃標其額J39nB461_p0767b15曰「選佛場」。諸方衲子傾慕,挈瓶掛錫,問法座下者,日J39nB461_p0767b16夜不絕。恒苦乏食,又募田若干畝,以備接眾費。會虞J39nB461_p0767b17山維摩延師住持,師厭選佛之喧也,往應其請。未幾,J39nB461_p0767b18語門人曰:「吾老矣,吾北人也。緣當在北,盍往遊J39nB461_p0767b19帝都乎?」遂偕超、曉輩擔囊附舟趍京師,寓龍泉寺,不J39nB461_p0767b20四月而示疾。常熟翁司空寶林方進謁次,師與坐,語J39nB461_p0767b21未竟,合掌跏趺而逝。室中微聞異香,踰時不絕。臨逝J39nB461_p0767b22時,不說偈,不作遺囑,識者稱其有古雪竇之風。師在J39nB461_p0767b23選佛場也,嘗因僧化席書偈,有「百丈當年卷卻,玉峰J39nB461_p0767b24今日重鋪」之句,僧問:「百丈既經卷卻,玉峰何故重鋪?」J39nB461_p0767b25師云:「為汝瞌睡未醒。」僧送拄杖,師云:「古人道:『你有拄J39nB461_p0767b26杖子,與你拄杖子;你無拄杖子,奪卻你拄杖子。』意旨J39nB461_p0767b27如何?」僧云:「學人送與和尚。」師云:「如是即被山僧奪卻J39nB461_p0767b28也。」僧擬議,師大笑。問:「懸羊頭,賣狗肉,意旨如何?」師云:J39nB461_p0767b29「看破不值分文。」進云:「衲僧本分事如何?」師云:「老僧無J39nB461_p0767b30氣力荅汝。」蓋其方便接引多類此。壽七十一,僧臘六J39nB461_p0767c01十一。嗣法門人超自等二十餘人,受度者不計數。有J39nB461_p0767c02語錄六卷行世。塔在常熟縣之西維摩寺。銘曰:
