J39nB445_p0350b06紫垣性貴禪師,忠州胡氏子。早歲披緇,首參萬松,值J39nB445_p0350b07松圍爐次,一僧近前立,松拈火匙於爐灰上畫圓相J39nB445_p0350b08示之,僧接火匙插圓相中,松復以腳抹卻,便起去,師J39nB445_p0350b09於此有省。謁高峰,克侍司十餘載,清操潔志,始終不J39nB445_p0350b10渝,久之心眼豁開。一日,峰對眾云:「高峰頂上有一隻J39nB445_p0350b11瞌睡虎。」師出一喝,峰後示以法語,有「國師三喚三應,J39nB445_p0350b12猶謂辜負,而今高峰一語一喝又且如何?想是當人J39nB445_p0350b13多年方丈竊得如許贓私,一朝考較將來,不覺信口J39nB445_p0350b14供出,展開沒量膽略,露出噬人爪牙,長沙大蟲莫與J39nB445_p0350b15爭鋒,虎丘睡虎無能拒敵云云。」然師終韜光晦跡,一J39nB445_p0350b16蒲一衲甘志林泉,有語以出世者,師但笑而不答,請J39nB445_p0350b17之至再,則怫然曰:「非我志也。」一時緇素莫不仰慕高J39nB445_p0350b18風。
山居偈曰:「因僧問我西來意,我話山居不記年。J39nB445_p0350b19汲水但將兩隻手,擔柴唯用一頭肩。更無瓢衲穿城J39nB445_p0350b20市,那有弓旌到石泉?落落蓬門空自啟,當機古柏豎J39nB445_p0350b21庭前。」
喜兩偈曰:「推門擬觸樹頭風,愁看浮雲映日J39nB445_p0350b22紅。瀑響漸歸青嶂裡,霖聲初到綠畦中。紅霓莫教橫J39nB445_p0350b23如蝀,巽鼓常期吼似龍。自是年豐賡大有,含哺鼓腹J39nB445_p0350b24盡皆同。」
復寶善居士偈曰:「朝朝同坐又同行,箇裡J39nB445_p0350b25相將沒幾人,出息豈云離陰界?到家且自話途程。掃J39nB445_p0350b26除休訝德翁棒,淘汰漫驚雪老盆,此日何分橙共几?J39nB445_p0350b27一回放下一回平。」
閒中偈曰:「為法忘軀立雪腰,當J39nB445_p0350b28年那更似今朝。腳頭懶踐門前徑,舌底慣談室裡道。J39nB445_p0350b29不習僧規縱意逞,未經釋禮任心驕。可憐碌碌勞生J39nB445_p0350b30者,徒把光陰虛自消。」
夜坐賡韻:「師資酬對話偏長,J39nB445_p0350c01一語投機齒頰香。錯落珠璣忘懊惱,頻傾甘露快清J39nB445_p0350c02涼。明窗月映彌霄漢,虛室風生滿大荒。燈靜不知更J39nB445_p0350c03漏永,相將破夢憩禪房。」
別玉眉亮禪師偈曰:「託足J39nB445_p0350c04空門十數秋,談心共歷八年頭。無文印券我方償,有J39nB445_p0350c05血掌痕君自酬。誓井何期還獨步,買山有日憶同遊。J39nB445_p0350c06今朝雁陣斜飛也,影掛長天映四洲。」
樂隱偈曰:「別J39nB445_p0350c07俗八十日,情同秋水長。風塵隨熱惱,泉石自清涼。菊J39nB445_p0350c08晚開金甲,鴻鳴漸羽裳。獨予林下客,高臥絕閒忙。」
J39nB445_p0350c09月夜觀漲偈曰:「夜坐忘機久,忽聞灘水鳴。尋堤策杖J39nB445_p0350c10望,踏月敞衣行。夾岸沙汀隱,橫江玉浪平。一回極目J39nB445_p0350c11轉,樓鼓響三更。」
春望偈曰:「散步踏蒼煙,芳英列光J39nB445_p0350c12筵。采薇將野葑,酌水就平川。嫩草鋪青隴,浮雲亂碧J39nB445_p0350c13天。杖頭興未已,且自樂堯年。」
和船子和尚偈曰:「曾J39nB445_p0350c14向東山水上遊,平巒破浪拾金鉤。何年問到乘槎事,J39nB445_p0350c15釣得金鰲志始休。」
贈頑石靜主偈曰:「傍水隈山構J39nB445_p0350c16草廬,閒中日月竟何圖。崑岡有玉君須剖,價重人天J39nB445_p0350c17不用沽。」
讚觀音像曰:「紫竹林中,普陀石上,跌膝跏J39nB445_p0350c18趺,作何勾當?手裡楊枝甘露瓶,為憐眾生,普同供養。」
J39nB445_p0350c19讚高峰老人真曰:「呼不應,喚不醒,假不假,真不真,J39nB445_p0350c20仔細看來惱殺人。啐!畫龍畫虎難畫骨,知人知面不J39nB445_p0350c21知心。」
舉:「僧問高峰:『古人斬貓,意旨如何?』峰云:『苦哉!J39nB445_p0350c22佛陀耶!』」師云:「一分心悻一分慈。頌曰:法王法令令須J39nB445_p0350c23行,誰識臨機一片心?滿口含冤無雪處,猶留疑案到J39nB445_p0350c24而今。」
舉:「僧問高峰:『如何是事事無礙?』峰云:『上單下J39nB445_p0350c25單,喫茶喫水。』」師云:「恁麼也得,不恁麼也得,恁麼不恁J39nB445_p0350c26麼總得。何以故?普天星月臨河漢,大地風光映斗牛。J39nB445_p0350c27頌曰:乘船幾度泛滄洲,一曲漁歌信自遊,歷遍天涯J39nB445_p0350c28孤月冷,寸絲不掛體風流。」
舉:「僧問高峰:『某甲沒奈J39nB445_p0350c29何時如何?』峰云:『怪事,怪事。』」師云:「欲出裡許,坐在裡許;J39nB445_p0350c30坐在裡許,難出裡許。正恁麼時如何?」良久,云:「識得不J39nB445_p0351a01為冤。頌曰:天之高也不可升,淵之深也不可測。有時J39nB445_p0351a02雲起滿虛空,有時龍騰滄海竭。我今變作雲與龍,說J39nB445_p0351a03甚天淵難升測?沒奈何,沒奈何,灑灑脫脫笑呵呵。」
重慶龍橋天湖惺若性定禪師,忠州趙氏子。年十八,J39nB445_p0351a05投弔巖薙染受具。首參高峰於崇聖,繼謁雙桂。峰遷J39nB445_p0351a06五雲,復叩焉。於狗子無佛性話有醒,命職侍者事。峰J39nB445_p0351a07主曇華,入浙領天寧,師皆掌記室十餘年,洞徹玄旨。J39nB445_p0351a08康熙壬子受印,出住雨花,次遷龍橋。入院,土地。卓拄J39nB445_p0351a09杖云:「神從此來,靈從此起;我住此山,爾護此地。勿得J39nB445_p0351a10多口報庄人,南泉不喜喫油餈。」復卓一卓。三門。「只者J39nB445_p0351a11一步,踏過者掉臂而去,腳跟未點地者隨山僧進來。」J39nB445_p0351a12拽杖便入。三大士殿,豎拄杖云:「喚作文殊得麼?」振身J39nB445_p0351a13云:「喚作普賢得麼?」彈指云:「喚作觀音得麼?恁麼會又J39nB445_p0351a14怎得?畢竟如何?」展具作禮。
上堂。舉:「外道問世尊:『不J39nB445_p0351a15問有言,不問無言。』世尊良久,外道嘆云:『世尊大慈大J39nB445_p0351a16悲,開我迷雲,令我得入。』」師云:「世尊害啞襄聾,外道墮J39nB445_p0351a17坑落塹,雖然小出大遇,未免磕額撞頭。且聽山僧為J39nB445_p0351a18汝等分明頌出:有無不問太孤生,一劄婆心覺更深,J39nB445_p0351a19等閒識得其中意,不萌枝上發陽春。」
上堂。「子規啼J39nB445_p0351a20徹為春深,多少行人似不聞?一片癡心無用處,口頭J39nB445_p0351a21依舊血淋淋。」
小參。舉:「禾山示眾云:『習學謂之聞,從J39nB445_p0351a22門入者不是家珍;絕學謂之鄰,山高豈礙白雲飛過?J39nB445_p0351a23此二者是真過,且恁麼道。』僧問:『如何是真過?』閒言語。J39nB445_p0351a24曰:『解打鼓。』分明答得。『如何是真諦?』汝是恁麼人。曰:『解J39nB445_p0351a25打鼓。』答得分明。『即心即佛即不問』,更問甚麼?『如何是J39nB445_p0351a26非心非佛?』處處聞啼鳥。曰:『解打鼓。』夜來風雨聲。『向上J39nB445_p0351a27人來如何接待?』冷棒熱喝。曰:『解打鼓。』花落知多少?有J39nB445_p0351a28為雖偽,棄之則佛道難成;無為雖真,執之則慧性不J39nB445_p0351a29朗。衲僧分上二俱不然,更道甚麼非心非佛?雖然,還J39nB445_p0351a30知禾山利害處麼?」良久,云:「山僧也是無端。」
高峰老J39nB445_p0351b01人首九,拈香,云:「名不能,狀不得,不同海岸栴檀,亦非J39nB445_p0351b02返魂雞舌。今日信手拈來,貴圖酬恩報德。」插香爐中,J39nB445_p0351b03云:「三三原來只是九,吾師面目何曾隔?」
舉:「保寧云:J39nB445_p0351b04『一是一,二是二,三是三,四是四,數目甚分明,上下依J39nB445_p0351b05資次。依資次,有何事?』以拄杖畫一畫,云:『大眾!一時亂J39nB445_p0351b06卻六十甲子了也。』」頌曰:「融融佳氣送春來,無數園花J39nB445_p0351b07次第開,惱亂東風收拾去,空教猾蝶自徘徊。」
舉:「龐J39nB445_p0351b08公問馬祖:『不與萬法為侶者是甚麼人?』祖云:『待汝一J39nB445_p0351b09口吸盡西江水即向汝道。』」頌曰:「九重深處太孤玄,禁J39nB445_p0351b10殿苔侵孰敢攀?一下綸音寰宇播,從教大地有餘歡。」
J39nB445_p0351b11舉:「白雲上堂:『揚眉瞬目,拈槌豎拂,彈指謦欬,盡是J39nB445_p0351b12抓鉤搭索。海會今日還免過也無?家家觀世音,處處J39nB445_p0351b13彌陀佛。』」頌曰:「朵朵梅雵滿樹開,行人莫厭把心灰。一J39nB445_p0351b14枝寄向江南友,方識東君傳信來。」
舉:「興化上堂云:J39nB445_p0351b15『不用如何若何,便請單刀直入,興化與你證據。』時有J39nB445_p0351b16僧出禮拜,起便喝,化亦喝,僧又喝,化亦喝,化云:『若是J39nB445_p0351b17別人,三十棒一棒也較不得。』僧禮拜歸眾。」頌曰:「閒來J39nB445_p0351b18無事理瑤琴,撥動冰絃一片心,流水高山歸去也,知J39nB445_p0351b19音恰似不知音。」
舉:「馬大師不安,院主問云:『和尚近J39nB445_p0351b20日尊候如何?』大師云:『日面佛,月面佛。』」頌曰:「下里巴歌J39nB445_p0351b21聲韻齊,陽春一曲和者希。誰知不落宮商調,只至而J39nB445_p0351b22今稱絕奇。」
舉:「曹山問僧:『作甚來?』僧云:掃地來。山云:J39nB445_p0351b23『佛前掃?佛後掃?』僧云:前後一時掃。山云:『與我過靸鞋J39nB445_p0351b24來。』」頌曰:「撥塵見佛太區生,漁父棲巢實可憐。假使兩J39nB445_p0351b25頭都截斷,拈匙把筯倩何人?」
壽香蓮居士。「時逢初J39nB445_p0351b26度鷓鴣天,綠樹聲聲唱野田,驚起儂家飛逸興,援毫J39nB445_p0351b27為慶火中蓮。蓮華火裡紅如雪,挺秀曹溪稱卓越,一J39nB445_p0351b28枝帶露更凝香,為視群花君自別。君不見,碧眼胡受J39nB445_p0351b29讖來,一花五葉至今開?又不見,馬祖吸盡西江水,一J39nB445_p0351b30日橫吞勢莫已?為問龐公意若何?渠家如彼君如此。J39nB445_p0351c01如君此日亦胡為?鐵笛常將江上吹,喚得江風來水J39nB445_p0351c02而,文章滿目復誰知?君依水,我傍山,明月清風沒間J39nB445_p0351c03關,遙通意氣匪塵寰。祝君壽,行路艱,玉印岩巖不可J39nB445_p0351c04攀,矚予俚語笑予頑。」
僧問:「梁武帝問達磨:『如何是J39nB445_p0351c05聖諦第一義?』此問還端的也無?」師曰:「是何言與?」曰:「磨J39nB445_p0351c06云:『廓然無聖。』是何意旨?」師曰:「剖腹剜心。」曰:「帝云:『對朕J39nB445_p0351c07者誰?』還是薦他意?不薦他意?」師曰:「相逢不相識。」曰:「磨J39nB445_p0351c08云:『不識。』還是答他話?不答他話?」師曰:「前箭猶輕後箭J39nB445_p0351c09深。」曰:「帝因甚不會?」師曰:「飯籮邊餓殺。」曰:「恁麼則都盧J39nB445_p0351c10無限意,一葦泛江心。」師曰:「失之東隅,收之西隅。」
墊江蘿月雲林性現禪師,忠州潘氏子。參高峰于五J39nB445_p0351c12雲,年方二十,機辯過人。首侍寮,繼維那。峰屢遷興龍、J39nB445_p0351c13曇華,師皆侍焉。峰一日問:「如何是你侍者的事?」師曰:J39nB445_p0351c14「請和尚尊重。」「如何是你維那的事?」師曰:「法王法如是。」J39nB445_p0351c15峰曰:「你本分的事聻?」師曰:「早已呈白了也。」康熙乙卯,J39nB445_p0351c16眾請開法蘿月。上堂。「萬法歸一,一歸何處?明眼衲僧,J39nB445_p0351c17不用重舉。收來放去,明明歷歷。畢竟如何?春遊芳草J39nB445_p0351c18地,夏賞綠荷池。」
示眾。「道長道短,煞甚無端,惹人嫌J39nB445_p0351c19忌,只為口寬。還有塞得山僧口者麼?若有,也須斬為J39nB445_p0351c20三段。」卓拄杖,下座。
萬法歸一。頌曰:「萬法歸一黑漆J39nB445_p0351c21桶,瞎眼禪和盡儱侗。放去收來只恁麼,黃金出在山J39nB445_p0351c22中礦。」
一歸何處?頌曰:「一歸何處沒底靴,逢著阿娘J39nB445_p0351c23並阿爺。庭前拍掌呵呵笑,四方八面絕周遮。」
青州J39nB445_p0351c24布衫。頌曰:「獦的獦狚青州衫,無端話出惹人嫌。年老J39nB445_p0351c25成精誇大口,崑崙頂上水浸天。」
親切句。偈曰:「天晴J39nB445_p0351c26日光達,落雨地下滑。十指是五雙,二四還如八。」
轉J39nB445_p0351c27身句。偈曰:「水窮山盡處,腳底有生涯。頓斷紅絲線,處J39nB445_p0351c28處摘楊花。」
異類句。偈曰:「牛胎並馬腹,披毛戴角行。J39nB445_p0351c29張三與李四,掉臂入深村。」
末後句。偈曰:「把斷要津J39nB445_p0351c30處,凡聖路不通。問是誰家語,赤白繳青紅。」
法身偈J39nB445_p0352a01曰:「綠水生青煙,紅爐綻白蓮。山頭鼓黑浪,海底掛長J39nB445_p0352a02天。」
向上偈曰:「三冬煨榾柮,九夏著麻衣。悲來啼哭J39nB445_p0352a03哭,喜則笑嘻嘻。」
法身向上偈曰:「囉哩囉囉哩哩囉J39nB445_p0352a04哩哩囉薩𭌯僧揭諦㗭唎娑婆訶。」
大法偈曰:「大法J39nB445_p0352a05是何法?原來無縫罅。石輥唱玄歌,磯頭聲鴨鴨。」
萬縣寶積大笑性崇禪師,川北岳池魯氏子,世以一J39nB445_p0352a07經傳家,父母禱佛生師。五歲,隨父讀書鴨山寺,聞僧J39nB445_p0352a08讀《華嚴》及課誦聲,感淚如雨,每與沙彌輩喜戲,不欲J39nB445_p0352a09歸。值壬午寇起,隨父母遷避數處,久之,雙親先後逝。J39nB445_p0352a10甲申,被擄入川東,總戎袁寶善破賊得師,觀志氣不J39nB445_p0352a11類常童,詰曰:「汝欲官乎?」師曰:「願成佛耳。」袁公異之,送J39nB445_p0352a12師親炙高峰。峰喜,與薙染,命參念佛是誰,久之有省,J39nB445_p0352a13呈偈曰:「念佛是誰誰念佛?一聲高了一聲低,高低聲J39nB445_p0352a14罷歸何所?石女雲中駕鷺鷥。」峰不示可否,復命看句J39nB445_p0352a15歸何處話,師猛參三晝夜,忽然大徹,失笑驚眾,座元J39nB445_p0352a16徵其見處,師口頌答之。元詣方丈云:「大笑于句歸何J39nB445_p0352a17處公案已會得,和尚幸勿輕易放過。」師隨後竊聞,笑J39nB445_p0352a18云:「是甚麼心行?」侍峰二十年,始侍寮,次副寺,次監院,J39nB445_p0352a19叢林重事,赤身擔荷,無少推遜。康熙癸卯,開創高峰,J39nB445_p0352a20工未竣,峰應向化侯請,遷曇華,乃以高峰院事屬師,J39nB445_p0352a21雖日事上木,拈錘豎拂不少怠,衲子甘效死弗去。乙J39nB445_p0352a22卯,受總戎覲橋易公請,遷主寶積,四眾嚮往,法席稱J39nB445_p0352a23極盛。
結制,上堂。「舒卷絲綸數十秋,輕輕不覺雪盈J39nB445_p0352a24▆,而今舉釣清波上,赤尾鯨鯢快上鉤。」座元出,師曰:J39nB445_p0352a25「寧向直中取,不向曲中求。」元作禮歸眾,師曰:「好箇阿J39nB445_p0352a26師。」僧問:「寶積禪林昔年初創、此日重修,初創、重修是J39nB445_p0352a27同?是別?」師震威一喝,僧擬開口,師便打,僧禮拜,師乃J39nB445_p0352a28云:「大丈夫、伶俐漢,肘後須懸奪命符,手中常握金剛J39nB445_p0352a29劍,早已能摧佛祖心,何況喪卻天魔膽?摧折心、喪卻J39nB445_p0352a30膽,太平底定斬盡癡頑,何須三條椽下、七尺單前,磨J39nB445_p0352b01裙擦褲、敷坐安禪,一任行便行、坐便坐,饑來喫飯、困J39nB445_p0352b02來打眠,任情逍遙得大自在?若有絲毫罣念,便是三J39nB445_p0352b03塗業因,瞥爾情生,萬劫羈鎖,聖名凡號總屬虛聲,殊J39nB445_p0352b04相劣形皆成幻色。山僧恁麼告報,也是好肉剜瘡,檢J39nB445_p0352b05點將來有何交涉?既沒交涉,即今建期會主如何報J39nB445_p0352b06稱?」顧視左右,云:「常將日月為天眼,拈出須彌作壽山。」
J39nB445_p0352b07冬至上堂。問:「座上燭影爃煌,爐內檀煙縹緲。祝延J39nB445_p0352b08聖明統御,慶賀我國晏然。和尚分上又作麼生?」師曰:J39nB445_p0352b09「山僧一時忘卻了也。」曰:「繩陰剛剝盡,一陽又始生。烏J39nB445_p0352b10漆盆擊碎,琉璃盞現成。就裡機關,和尚如何指示?」師J39nB445_p0352b11曰:「午時星斗現,夜半日頭紅。」曰:「如是則風搖竹葉隨J39nB445_p0352b12飄舞,月篩松影任高低。」師曰:「闍黎道得恰好。」曰:「四時J39nB445_p0352b13氣運隨時轉,八卦循環顛倒顛。未審是卦轉氣,氣轉J39nB445_p0352b14卦?」師曰:「囉囉哩,哩哩囉,哩囉囉哩娑婆訶。」曰:「和尚一J39nB445_p0352b15向腳版朝前,終朝眉毛掃地。其中還有奉重事也無?」J39nB445_p0352b16師曰:「山僧下座後,歸方丈即向汝道。」曰:「若是則金果J39nB445_p0352b17早朝猿摘去,玉花晚後鳳銜來。」師曰:「一任顛倒。」僧啐J39nB445_p0352b18曰:「某甲一時亂卻六十甲子了也。」師呵呵大笑。問:「某J39nB445_p0352b19甲有一句話要問和尚。」師曰:「且道是那一句?」僧便喝,J39nB445_p0352b20師便打。曰:「也瞞某甲不得。」師曰:「山僧不如汝。」問:「如何J39nB445_p0352b21是親切句?」師曰:「五九盡日又逢春。」「如何是轉身句?」師J39nB445_p0352b22曰:「山前綠竹,嶺後青松。」「如何是異類句?」師曰:「張公喫J39nB445_p0352b23酒李公醉。」「如何是青州布衫?」師曰:「遮天蓋地。」僧佇思,J39nB445_p0352b24師連棒打退。問:「一陽纔動,百卉生芽。萬彙乘權,掀天J39nB445_p0352b25動地。且道未動一句作麼生?」師曰:「百舌未休枝上語,J39nB445_p0352b26鳳凰怎肯共同棲。」一僧出擬進語,師打曰:「待文王而J39nB445_p0352b27後興者,凡民也。」僧歸眾,師乃曰:「群陰今已盡,一陽又J39nB445_p0352b28復還。時光增一線,慈明卻放參。卻放參,少機關。畢竟J39nB445_p0352b29如何?」卓拄杖曰:「臘月火燒山」。
元旦,傳戒,上堂。「天何J39nB445_p0352b30言?四時行。地何言?百物生。君何言?萬邦寧。風調雨順,J39nB445_p0352c01海晏河清。」拈拄杖,卓一卓,云:「惟有這箇無四序,一回J39nB445_p0352c02舉起一回新。苟日新,日日新,又日新,諸人記取湯之J39nB445_p0352c03盤銘。既爾日新又新,何罪不滅?何戒不臻?豈待雞足J39nB445_p0352c04山中等人?堪笑老迦葉多年鈍置,玅慈氏𥅄目鼓睛,J39nB445_p0352c05何似寶積信手拈來,覿面區分?且道區分箇甚麼?」喝J39nB445_p0352c06一喝,云:「爆竹一聲除舊臘,梅花幾點送新春。」
上堂。J39nB445_p0352c07豎拂子,云:「這一半,那一半,東邊有,西邊有。緊捏拳,長J39nB445_p0352c08伸手,象王行,獅子吼。」喝一喝,云:「昨夜總角山與黑灘J39nB445_p0352c09子鬥額,勝負未分,被山僧拄杖子無端惡發,趁出萬J39nB445_p0352c10仞峰前、大洋海外,直至而今永無蹤跡。且又如何舉J39nB445_p0352c11唱?」喝一喝。
解制,上堂。豎拄杖,云:「只這箇,年年三百J39nB445_p0352c12六,一日十二時,因甚十月十五謂之結?二月十五謂J39nB445_p0352c13之解?雖然,事不同途,要且理惟一致。即今山僧恁麼J39nB445_p0352c14也得、不恁麼也得、恁麼不恁麼總得。畢竟如何?百二J39nB445_p0352c15十期今已周,放出溈山水牯牛,東觸西敲隨任運,只J39nB445_p0352c16要水草調得周。溪東牧,溪西遊,種月耕雲莫放休,國J39nB445_p0352c17王水草隨意喫,得優游處且優游。優游且置,山僧過J39nB445_p0352c18此又作麼生?桃花浪暖魚龍化,重展絲綸別有鉤。」
J39nB445_p0352c19小參。「諸昆仲!今結制三日矣,竊念隙駒易過、駟馬難J39nB445_p0352c20追,古人曾惜寸陰,汝等豈可輕易放過?凡參禪底人,J39nB445_p0352c21譬如國家用兵,先須布陣安營、堅設牆塹,外不放入、J39nB445_p0352c22內不放出。外不放入,則外息諸緣;內不放出,則內心J39nB445_p0352c23無喘。從來心隨境轉、境隨心生,心境雙忘,自然靈光J39nB445_p0352c24顯現,方知本來面目不從外覓、不向他求,何須參師J39nB445_p0352c25訪友,向他人喉下討氣?則知自己眉毛不在他人面J39nB445_p0352c26上。山僧恁麼說話,也是畫蛇添足、與缽安柄,檢點將J39nB445_p0352c27來,當墮拔舌地獄。何故聻?不見昔日文殊起佛見、法J39nB445_p0352c28見,被世尊威神攝入二鐵圍山。且道山僧與文殊是J39nB445_p0352c29同?是別?」喝一喝,云:「寧可將身坐地獄,不將佛法作人J39nB445_p0352c30情。」
小參。拈拄杖,卓一卓,喝一喝,云:「臨濟、德山來也,J39nB445_p0353a01在山僧拄杖頭上論議,拄杖子遏捺不住。即今有不J39nB445_p0353a02顧危亡底,出來與他相見。」監院出,師問:「如何是汝監J39nB445_p0353a03院邊事?」曰:「今日買茶三十斤。」師曰:「果然是箇監院。」副J39nB445_p0353a04寺出,師問:「汝執庫司,每日費錢糧多少?」曰:「庫上事繁,J39nB445_p0353a05忘卻了也。」師曰:「一邊漢。」化主出,師問:「汝患眼疼,如何J39nB445_p0353a06是你不病底眼?」主以兩手作雙眼勢。師曰:「好大光明。」J39nB445_p0353a07僧禮拜,師乃曰:「德山棒,臨濟喝,今夜與君重點破。左J39nB445_p0353a08邊底切▆承▆,右邊底何勞裁酌?莫裁酌,龐公賣笊J39nB445_p0353a09籬,普化搖鈴鐸。」復卓一卓,喝一喝,云:「著!著!著!」
小參。J39nB445_p0353a10「大道只在目前,要且目前難睹;欲識大道真體,不離J39nB445_p0353a11聲色言語。古人恁麼道,寶積則不然。」驀豎拄杖,云:「大J39nB445_p0353a12道只在目前,目前何不快睹?」卓一卓,云:「欲識大道真J39nB445_p0353a13體,諸人切須薦取。即今有向聲色裡承當者麼?出來J39nB445_p0353a14與山僧相見。」眾答不契,師云:「有眼底因甚不解見?有J39nB445_p0353a15耳底因甚不解聞?有口底因甚不解說?有腳底因甚J39nB445_p0353a16不肯行?」復卓一卓,云:「只為分明極,翻令所得遲。」
高J39nB445_p0353a17峰老人周年,設忌。「諸仁者知麼?此是我老人放身捨J39nB445_p0353a18命之期,全身落在不肖兒郎手裡,一任殺活縱擒,收J39nB445_p0353a19來放去。十八日已前有尾無頭,夜半日頭紅;十八日J39nB445_p0353a20已後有頭無尾,午時星斗現。即今十八日又如何?恁J39nB445_p0353a21麼去也,出戶不行青草地;恁麼住也,歸家豈坐白雲J39nB445_p0353a22床?眾中若有伶俐衲僧出來道:『長老!臨濟兒孫說誰J39nB445_p0353a23家語話?』但向道:『今日老人忌辰,也少這一分供養不J39nB445_p0353a24得。』」
舉僧問趙州萬法歸一話,頌曰:「屈拳伸手,收來J39nB445_p0353a25放去。夾路桃花,風吹滿地。」
舉僧問趙州狗子佛性J39nB445_p0353a26話,頌曰:「狗子佛性有,逢人解哮吼。年年三百六,梅花J39nB445_p0353a27開九九。狗子佛性無,覿面不識渠。渾然無箇事,凡聖J39nB445_p0353a28亦同居。」
舉興化在大覺處為監院話,頌曰:「一喝一J39nB445_p0353a29棒又一喝,兩次三番遭折合。若於當下解抽身,免使J39nB445_p0353a30大覺當面唾。」
舉:「僧辭趙州,州云:『有佛處不得住,無J39nB445_p0353b01佛處急走過。三千里外,逢人不得錯舉。』」頌曰:「臨行話J39nB445_p0353b02出太分明,無佛欲求有佛行。任意縱橫無罣礙,何妨J39nB445_p0353b03對客數家貧。」
淡寧侍者頌公案呈師閱,師曰:「還須J39nB445_p0353b04著力研窮。」者曰:「覿面承當。」師曰:「承當箇甚麼?」者低首,J39nB445_p0353b05師震威一喝,者隨聲亦喝,師曰:「還有麼?」者拂袖便行。J39nB445_p0353b06師曰:「放汝三十棒。」
師夜坐謂僧曰:「今夜好月。」僧曰:J39nB445_p0353b07「請和尚月看。」師畫圓相示之曰:「這箇與天上底是同J39nB445_p0353b08是別?」師喝一喝。僧禮曰:「再乞一偈。」師示偈曰:「明明一J39nB445_p0353b09鏡照當空,說甚別來說甚同。識得其中端的旨,光明J39nB445_p0353b10何處不圓通。」
問:「燈燈續燄,祖祖相傳,未審傳箇甚J39nB445_p0353b11麼?」師曰:「寶積門外石獅子。」曰:「西來大意,勿勞提起。雞J39nB445_p0353b12寒上樹,鴨寒下水,意旨如何?」師曰:「月半是十五。」
問:J39nB445_p0353b13「如何是普度群生句?」師曰:「趙錢孫李,周吳鄭王。」曰:「如J39nB445_p0353b14何是摧邪輔正句?」師曰:「東打西敲。」曰:「如何是截斷眾J39nB445_p0353b15流句?」師震威一喝。僧作禮,師便打。曰:「恁麼則心行狼J39nB445_p0353b16毒。」師曰:「憐兒不覺醜。」
問:「還丹一粒,點鐵成金,某甲J39nB445_p0353b17特來請和尚點。」師曰:「把將鐵來。」曰:「某甲不會。」師云:「你J39nB445_p0353b18將甚麼喚作金?」僧便喝,師便打。
荊州善迷又山性證禪師,南濱譚氏子。母張,早歲喪J39nB445_p0353b20父,張撫之甚艱。既長,使就鄉塾,資性超卓,目無先生,J39nB445_p0353b21張數苦之,不聽。千夫一公,師舅氏也,張因託夫使依J39nB445_p0353b22高峰。年十四,芟染命字,冷眼督參:念佛是誰?越三月,J39nB445_p0353b23一日,托盒上方丈,失腳墮丹墀,盒碗墜地,雜碎作聲,J39nB445_p0353b24因契悟。走見峰,峰急問:「念佛是誰?」師豎一指,命道偈,J39nB445_p0353b25應聲曰:「念佛是誰?我有一指,識得這箇,不生不死。」峰J39nB445_p0353b26曰:「且去,待閒打你。」出謂人曰:「老漢者回打我不得也。」J39nB445_p0353b27是夜,峰落堂,喚師至,謂眾曰:「汝等參隨老僧多年,終J39nB445_p0353b28日抱箇不哭孩子不肯放下,反冷眼沙彌之不若,奈J39nB445_p0353b29何?」峰出堂,眾挽師徵詰,說偈應對,百餘人皆克口而J39nB445_p0353b30出,眾皆悲感下淚。新寧尹沈公參峰,遇宗旨淆訛處,J39nB445_p0353c01輒謂曰:「汝問冷沙彌去。」因於師處多所發明,沈公甚J39nB445_p0353c02心服,屢請囑師,峰卻之曰:「孺子大遠在。」沈公益敬重。J39nB445_p0353c03後侍峰入浙,沈公於舟中忽問:「如何是第一句?」師曰:J39nB445_p0353c04「忘卻了也。」「如何是第二句?」師曰:「記起了也。」「如何是第J39nB445_p0353c05三句?」師曰:「再道即不堪。」同孔茂弘見梵受俍亭禪師,J39nB445_p0353c06茶話次,茂弘甚言此事趣極,師曰:「祗饒宗通趣極,猶J39nB445_p0353c07是真常流注。」亭良久,點首歎服,指謂眾曰:「冷上座法J39nB445_p0353c08門龍象也。」師曰:「和尚謗某甲作麼?」亭笑曰:「贓私現在。」J39nB445_p0353c09師顧茂弘曰:「是你討得的。」復侍峰還蜀。康熙乙卯,受J39nB445_p0353c10囑出住湖廣忠司之善述,次遷圓通。
上堂。舉:「聚雲J39nB445_p0353c11示眾:『有三種法,名曰三關。若也透得,方許親見聚雲。J39nB445_p0353c12第一種要腳掌掉後,若一向在前,直饒走到彌勒下J39nB445_p0353c13生,也沒箇休歇底日子。第二種要鼻孔朝天,若一向J39nB445_p0353c14朝地,直喚作尋香逐臭,縱有擒風捉月、拿空擊水手J39nB445_p0353c15段,全沒交涉。第三種要腦後具眼,若一向照前,則阿J39nB445_p0353c16娘阿爺衣食凍餒、枯瘦如柴,為兒底毫無顧盻。聽吾J39nB445_p0353c17偈:黃昏鐘響日頭紅,曉來依舊月當中。討火童子吹J39nB445_p0353c18波浪,征西戎馬面朝東。』」師云:「不肖兒孫則不然。第一J39nB445_p0353c19種還要腳掌朝前,若必定掉後,直饒倒退三千里,跛J39nB445_p0353c20跛跌跌也不得到家穩坐。第二種還要鼻孔朝地,若J39nB445_p0353c21必定朝天,一朝猛風暴雨霎時灌殺,直饒甦醒起來,J39nB445_p0353c22與三世諸佛同孔出入,也沒甚利害氣息。第三種還J39nB445_p0353c23要眼在面門,若必定在後,未免喪卻目前,盡大地有J39nB445_p0353c24情無情、虛生浪死,為導師底全不照管。聽吾偈:清秋J39nB445_p0353c25月色滿庭階,無數花陰送影來。夜盡更闌收拾去,枝J39nB445_p0353c26頭霜露淚盈腮。恁麼道,且道與聚雲老人相去多少?」
J39nB445_p0353c27說戒,陞座。「鳳凰嶺上朔風嚴,吹徹諸人心膽寒,爭J39nB445_p0353c28似當陽轟霹靂?」喝一喝,云:「一聲突出震兩關,且道是J39nB445_p0353c29甚麼幽關?汝等自從無始以來所造業緣藏在幽隱,J39nB445_p0353c30此箇關頭不因一番敲擊,誰能除破?是豈知罪由心J39nB445_p0354a01起、心生罪生?心若不生,罪從何有?證上座今為汝等J39nB445_p0354a02向頂門著針,汝等對證上座從毛孔出氣,通身吐露J39nB445_p0354a03猶較些子,如或垢匿在心、塵根不斷,縱彌勒、釋迦也J39nB445_p0354a04沒奈你何。畢竟如何乃得諸過盡淨去?」復喝一喝,云:J39nB445_p0354a05「雪點紅爐無箇事,不容眨眼盡銷鎔。」
一僧到,善述J39nB445_p0354a06物,先禪人私與之坐。師次日問那僧:「參堂過了。」先曰:J39nB445_p0354a07「參過。」師曰:「甚處人?」先曰:「江南人。」師曰:「汝因甚得知?」先J39nB445_p0354a08曰:「某甲昨夜看過。」師曰:「甚麼面目?」先曰:「而日一樣。」師J39nB445_p0354a09曰:「鼻孔在那裡?」先無語。師掌曰:「誰教汝亂自走作?」
J39nB445_p0354a10師入堂次,肩副寺行果子,師曰:「一箇一箇。」肩曰:「連這J39nB445_p0354a11一箇也不消得。」師曰:「副寺忒不為眾了。」肩曰:「秪如口J39nB445_p0354a12掛壁上,將甚麼喫?」師作咬勢。肩曰:「甚麼味?」師曰:「這堆J39nB445_p0354a13砂幾時作底?」肩舉果,遂行。師顧眾曰:「大家知味些好。」
J39nB445_p0354a14一僧著頌三界唯心,萬法唯識公案,有「絲毫那許J39nB445_p0354a15瞞得渠」之語呈似師,師云:「意作麼生?」僧曰:「昨因堂中J39nB445_p0354a16舉桂林之問,故有此頌。據某之見,本無三界萬法,不J39nB445_p0354a17過因心識而有。」師曰:「未在。」僧請師閒示,師曰:「三界唯J39nB445_p0354a18心,萬法唯識。此二語出《唯識論》。因地藏住院時,法眼、J39nB445_p0354a19修山主、洪進三人行腳過院投宿,至晚圍爐次,商量J39nB445_p0354a20浩浩,藏同至爐邊驗云:『只如山河大地與上座自己J39nB445_p0354a21是同?是別?』眼云:『是別。』藏豎兩指,眼云:『是同。』藏亦豎兩J39nB445_p0354a22指,便起去。次日,三人辭行,藏指菴太古石問云:『古人J39nB445_p0354a23道:「三界唯心,萬法唯識。」且道這片石在心內?在心外?』J39nB445_p0354a24眼云:『在心內。』藏云:『行腳人著甚來由,擔片石在心頭J39nB445_p0354a25上走?』三人行至半途,眼云:『此老說話大有來歷。』同行J39nB445_p0354a26云:『犬口爭出象牙?』眼云:『未可草草,二兄要去前去,我J39nB445_p0354a27返親近。倘渠有長處,我則依住;如無,我隨後趕來。』眼J39nB445_p0354a28遂返依地藏,後為地藏之嗣。開堂時,有長慶首座子J39nB445_p0354a29昭與法眼同參,聞法眼開堂,昭掛拂子一枝到法眼J39nB445_p0354a30處,問:『和尚開堂,承嗣何人?』眼云:『地藏。』昭云:『太辜負長J39nB445_p0354b01慶先師。』眼云:『我當時不會長慶一轉語。』昭云:『何不問J39nB445_p0354b02來?』眼云:『萬象之中獨露身意作麼生?』昭豎起拂子。眼J39nB445_p0354b03云:『此是長慶處學得底,上座分中又作麼生?』昭無語。J39nB445_p0354b04眼云:『只如萬象之中獨露身,是撥萬象?不撥萬象?』昭J39nB445_p0354b05云:『不撥。』眼云:『兩箇。』參隨左右皆云:『撥萬象。』眼云:『萬象J39nB445_p0354b06之中獨露身聻?』此非得地藏爐頭同別之旨乎?後法J39nB445_p0354b07眼之嗣韶國師悟後,呈偈于法眼云:『通玄峰頂,不是J39nB445_p0354b08人間;心外無法,滿目青山。』眼云:『即此一偈,可紹吾宗。』J39nB445_p0354b09此非得地藏唯識唯心之旨乎?後來開堂為人,有僧J39nB445_p0354b10問:『如何是曹源一滴水?』眼云:『是曹源一滴水。』又有僧J39nB445_p0354b11問:『如何是佛?』眼云:『汝是慧超。』以至建立宗旨種種言J39nB445_p0354b12句,莫不本於初見地藏之血脈,豈可草草忽略耶?山J39nB445_p0354b13僧曾記居高梁時,有桂林學人號大參者至虎蹲,言J39nB445_p0354b14及桂林驗眾,有語云:『古人道:「三界唯心,萬法唯識。」因J39nB445_p0354b15甚今日不知明日事?』山僧云:『這老漢老老大大作這J39nB445_p0354b16箇語話。』參云:『他別有緣故。』山僧云:『既有緣故,汝還參J39nB445_p0354b17他去。』今觀上座下箇絲毫那許瞞得渠之語,似與桂J39nB445_p0354b18林之問同一差訛。我觀桂林設問之意,蓋謂三界萬J39nB445_p0354b19法可謂寬廣矣,而唯心能知、唯識能識,因甚今日不J39nB445_p0354b20知明日事?恁麼會又爭得?不見古人道:『若人識得心,J39nB445_p0354b21大地無寸土。』又云:『眼前一物即不是,但有絲毫都是J39nB445_p0354b22塵。』雲門云:『法身三種病、二種光。三種病且置,秪如道:J39nB445_p0354b23面前有一物,是光不透脫。會得一切法空,隱隱地有J39nB445_p0354b24箇物相似,亦是光不透脫。』山僧今日且為法眼代下J39nB445_p0354b25一轉語,待地藏道:『三界唯心,萬法唯識。且道這片石J39nB445_p0354b26在心內心外?』向道:『和尚問得恁麼顛倒。』待伊問:『汝又J39nB445_p0354b27作麼生?』向道:『三界唯心,萬法唯識。』大眾會麼?如再不J39nB445_p0354b28會,還與下箇註解。」遂畫○相云:「喚作三界萬法得麼?」J39nB445_p0354b29復畫○相云:「喚作唯心唯識得麼?於斯薦得,鎔釵釧J39nB445_p0354b30鉼鐶為一金,攪酥酪醍醐為一乳,不則未免同桂林J39nB445_p0354c01之問,而墮雲門之光不透脫也。」復示偈曰:「把得乾坤J39nB445_p0354c02入畫圖,河山大地盡瓊琚。塵塵剎剎分明也,唯識唯J39nB445_p0354c03心總一如。」
