開鑪上堂師至法座以拂子指座云:「寶華王座巍巍J37nB390_p0531c06堂堂不煩作禮要上便上。」喝一喝遂陞拈香云:「此一J37nB390_p0531c07瓣香光騰八極普蔭萬方爇向爐中供養J37nB390_p0531c08始祖迦文歷代諸祖祝延今上J37nB390_p0531c09皇帝聖躬萬歲萬萬歲伏願統百億香水海為一福J37nB390_p0531c10滔滔不竭聚百億須彌山為一壽山仰止無窮J37nB390_p0531c11略文經智仁明辯。」末上拈香云:「此一瓣香不自西域J37nB390_p0531c12將來不從東土拈出立處孤危用處險絕覷著眼枯J37nB390_p0531c13嗅著腦裂爇向爐中供養現住東巖同真堂上沒意J37nB390_p0531c14味的嘯堂大和尚用酬法乳。」就座維那白槌云:「法筵J37nB390_p0531c15龍象眾當觀第一義。」師喝云:「落七落八了也J37nB390_p0531c16不落二三者出眾相見。」一僧出便喝師云:「好箇臨濟J37nB390_p0531c17兒孫。」僧又喝師作和南勢僧擬議師便打:「師唱誰J37nB390_p0531c18家曲?」師云:「無人和得齊。」進云畢竟是何曲調師便喝J37nB390_p0531c19進云:「依稀似曲纔堪聽又被風吹別調中。」師云:「將謂J37nB390_p0531c20知音原來不是。」乃云:「瞿曇老子為一大事因緣故出J37nB390_p0531c21現於世欲令眾生等入佛之知見大眾且道那箇眾J37nB390_p0531c22生是無知見底若一切眾生既有知見因甚須待如J37nB390_p0531c23來出現然後得入且又作麼生說箇得入的道理?」J37nB390_p0531c24拈拄杖云:「於此通得一線方見白浪山頭起紅塵海J37nB390_p0531c25底生大用繁興自在無礙可以鉗槌佛祖號令人天J37nB390_p0531c26其或未然……」便擲下拄杖云:「坐斷十方猶點額密移一J37nB390_p0531c27步看飛龍。」上首結槌云:「諦觀法王法法王法如是。」

大士像成開光眾會首請上堂。「圓通大啟萬善咸歸J37nB390_p0531c29百匝千重維新永固聞其聲則功超諸聖禮其像則J37nB390_p0531c30福等河沙入不思議解脫境界作不思議廣大佛事J37nB390_p0532a01度不思議根熟眾生成不思議勝妙功德。」揮拂子云J37nB390_p0532a02觀世音菩薩來也在拂子頭上轉大法輪頭頭無礙J37nB390_p0532a03法法圓融或以眼處作耳處佛事或以耳處作眼處J37nB390_p0532a04佛事或以鼻處作舌處佛事或以舌處作鼻處佛事J37nB390_p0532a05乃至風動林搖泉鳴谷應猿啼鳥語漁唱樵歌盡是J37nB390_p0532a06無作妙力助發觀音普門現前大眾各各從此獲本J37nB390_p0532a07妙心得大自在滅諸有苦善應無疲。」驀豎拂子云:「J37nB390_p0532a08見觀音麼?」復喝一喝:「石頭問長髭云:『什處來?』髭云J37nB390_p0532a09嶺南來。』頭云:『大庾嶺頭一舖功德成就也未?』髭云:『J37nB390_p0532a10就久矣只欠點眼。』頭云:『莫要點眼麼?』髭云:『便請。』頭垂J37nB390_p0532a11一足髭便禮拜頭云:『子見箇什麼道理便禮拜?』髭云J37nB390_p0532a12如紅爐上一片雪。』」師云:「石頭雖善點眼未免費盡腕J37nB390_p0532a13頭氣力興化一堂功德成就久矣亦只欠點眼若云J37nB390_p0532a14便請。』山僧只向他道:『處處彌陀佛家家觀世音。』且道J37nB390_p0532a15與古人相去多少?」

小參。「笠下清風胸次無塵始見杖頭明月頂門具眼J37nB390_p0532a17方窺汝等各各眼光爍破四天下還見興化老做處J37nB390_p0532a18?」眾無對師云:「一似瞎。」復舉:「盤山云:『向上一路千聖J37nB390_p0532a19不傳。』慈明云:『向上一路千聖不然。』大慧云:『向上一路J37nB390_p0532a20熱碗鳴聲。』」師云:「三大老總只發明得向下一路若是J37nB390_p0532a21向上一路直是三生六十劫興化見處也要諸人共J37nB390_p0532a22知向上一路滑。」

南雲眾居士入山設齋請上堂:「甘贄行者入南泉J37nB390_p0532a24設齋時黃檗為首座贄請施財檗曰:『法二施等無J37nB390_p0532a25差別。』贄曰:『恁麼道爭消得某甲親?』便舁錢出去須臾J37nB390_p0532a26復入:『請施財。』檗曰:『法二施等無差別。』贄乃行親J37nB390_p0532a27退翁師祖道:『首座固是熟處難忘未免執一不變J37nB390_p0532a28者可謂予奪臨時太煞希功冀傚怎似梁谿五居士J37nB390_p0532a29設齋不矜不伐秪要諸人飽便休?』」師云:「興化者裏又J37nB390_p0532a30且不然南雲眾居士入山設齋行親彼此俱無系毫J37nB390_p0532b01施受之心饅頭䭔子一任諸人橫咬豎咬飽了更須J37nB390_p0532b02吐卻始得。」

清一璽子對靈小參。「諸法不自生亦不從他生不共J37nB390_p0532b04不無因是故說無生敢問大眾既是不自生又不從J37nB390_p0532b05他生不共不無因喚什麼作無生於斯薦得清一璽J37nB390_p0532b06子二十年前生本不曾生二十年後滅亦未嘗滅J37nB390_p0532b07千里外把手共行正當恁麼時如何相見?」高聲云:「J37nB390_p0532b08腳下。」

小參。「興化不會禪道佛法只是穿衣喫飯閒坐倦眠J37nB390_p0532b10是則固是忽然枕子𨁝跳上三十三天觸著帝釋鼻J37nB390_p0532b11東海鯉魚打一棒雨似盆傾又作麼生?」以拂子打J37nB390_p0532b12圓相:「業識茫茫無本可據達磨大師急著眼覷。」

上堂拈拄杖卓一下:「於此須辨緇素。」良久:「諸禪J37nB390_p0532b14緇素作麼生辨杳杳冥冥恍恍忽忽達磨眼睛J37nB390_p0532b15州漆具縱饒辨得分明也是途中露布。」

證果寺去六大師八旬誕辰請上堂。「坐一走六處處J37nB390_p0532b17花攢錦簇撥六用一著著風規壁立南嶽山青洞庭J37nB390_p0532b18水碧丹葉傳書天降來芙蕖捧香地湧出合山慶快J37nB390_p0532b19喜添籌趙州寶掌居其側興化慣自錦上鋪花更添J37nB390_p0532b20一分別處土宜祗是不堪出手親從威音王前收J37nB390_p0532b21下箇物名不得狀不得無與等最越格妙手畫難工J37nB390_p0532b22海口讚莫及佛眼覷不見祖師道不識囊之以錦繡J37nB390_p0532b23蘊之以玉帛秘而不傳直至今日壽法壽人方敢將J37nB390_p0532b24。」喝一喝:「是什麼攤向證果堂前問取南雲古佛。」

晚參師問:「世尊不說說迦葉不聞聞前事如何?」J37nB390_p0532b26著語不契請師代語師曰:「八十翁翁輥繡毬。」眾曰:「J37nB390_p0532b27師頌出。」師朗聲曰:「八十翁翁輥繡毬腰纏跨鶴上楊J37nB390_p0532b28四五百條花柳巷二三千處管絃樓。」

解三小參。「三日前三日後仔細看來全漏逗十字街J37nB390_p0532b30頭石敢當始終不解藏家醜報道達磨無心釋迦有J37nB390_p0532c01說了四十九年狼藉八斛四斗賺得神光立雪深J37nB390_p0532c02一箇渾身盡分剖山僧無法施行總付糞箕苕帚。」

胡桂生居士六十初度請上堂問答畢乃曰:「麋游巨J37nB390_p0532c04鶴立喬松古砌鳴玉管之蟬長空走冰盤之兔J37nB390_p0532c05樹香浮蓮房子實末釐惲露法身高下了無剩欠滿J37nB390_p0532c06眼滿耳全放全收。」拈拄杖顧左右曰:「且道無量壽如J37nB390_p0532c07來即今居何國土?」卓一下曰:「十成好曲無生調唱作J37nB390_p0532c08千秋白石歌。」拋杖下座

晚參:「僧問智門:『如何是般若體?』門云:『蚌含明月。』『J37nB390_p0532c10何是般若用?』門云:『兔子懷胎。』」師云:「古今盡謂奇特J37nB390_p0532c11不知雲門會裏閃爍生光臨濟家風更須別展如何J37nB390_p0532c12是般若體猿啼岳麓如何是般若用漁唱瀟湘眾中J37nB390_p0532c13設有隨他舌頭轉底撿點道:『老老大大話頭也不炤J37nB390_p0532c14。』我也知你是箇漆桶。」

結夏小參。「古者道:『一百日緊結布袋頭斷斷不容走J37nB390_p0532c22。』仔細看來大似癩馬繫枯樁進退不得自由有甚J37nB390_p0532c23快活處興化者裏盡大地是箇禪堂一任諸人橫出J37nB390_p0532c24豎沒左之右之但不得作佛法商量亦不得作住禪J37nB390_p0532c25堂會離此二途速道速道。」

上堂舉德山托缽公案畢師云:「者則公案古今批判J37nB390_p0532c27者甚多錯會者不少興化真實相告雪峰善用截流J37nB390_p0532c28之刃德山慣輸陷虎之機嵒頭知而故犯罪案彌天J37nB390_p0532c29唱教門中固不無德山父子若是末後句莫說三年J37nB390_p0532c30後示寂即使活到今日亦未許渠在。」

小參良久顧左右:「山僧有副屎腸一一為汝抖擻J37nB390_p0533a02臨濟莽鹵劈頭便喝德山粗暴落脊便摟趙州破家J37nB390_p0533a03只喚吃茶曹山孝滿一味顛酒象骨攔路輥三箇毬J37nB390_p0533a04紫湖當門縱一隻狗盡道誇勝爭強不知出乘露醜J37nB390_p0533a05引得嘉州石佛笑呵呵賺卻府鐵牛沿路走。」忽云J37nB390_p0533a06山僧今日說四眾過罪犯彌天將入拔舌地獄去也J37nB390_p0533a07大兄小弟還有相救者麼?」良久喝一喝:「寧可永劫J37nB390_p0533a08受沉淪不從諸聖求解脫。」便下座

解制上堂。「天無門地無戶亂走衲僧向什處去饒汝J37nB390_p0533a10道箇不是西天便歸東土也被興化拄杖子穿卻鼻J37nB390_p0533a11。」攛拄杖下座

早參。「古人云:『佛者心清淨是法者心光明是道者J37nB390_p0533a13處無礙淨光是。』」喝一喝:「三段不同可恕走殺無位J37nB390_p0533a14真人。」

霖垓闍黎斷七小參。「今朝八月一七七事一幅J37nB390_p0533a16靈床化火中百草頭邊從出沒。」豎拂子:「還拘繫得J37nB390_p0533a17?」便拋下:「不可不快活也。」

學士徐公總戎謝公等立法名請上堂喝一喝:「J37nB390_p0533a19箇門中排身而入純其忠達其孝廣其智漙其德J37nB390_p0533a20以斯而致民以斯而澤一切智智清淨無二無二分J37nB390_p0533a21無別無斷故奉持此道真言更有何法不備?」復一喝J37nB390_p0533a22:「裴相國一日捧一尊佛像于黃檗前跪曰:『請師安J37nB390_p0533a23。』檗喚裴休休應諾檗云:『與汝安名竟。』休云:『謝師安J37nB390_p0533a24。』」師云:「裴公跪請不是好心今日學士徐公等請山J37nB390_p0533a25僧陞座安名因名之曰照曇號之曰機宜各各為之J37nB390_p0533a26安名立字竟且道與黃檗安名是同是別?」驀揮拂子J37nB390_p0533a27:「一寸筆頭三尺劍安邦定國是斯人。」

上堂舉臨濟三度喫棒因緣畢乃曰:「有者道得黃檗J37nB390_p0533a29有者道得大愚力有者道非但騎虎頭亦解收虎J37nB390_p0533a30有者道未出黃檗綱子在有者道金烹大冶玉出J37nB390_p0533b01藍田且喜總沒交涉。」驀拈拄杖卓一卓:「會麼三汲J37nB390_p0533b02浪高魚化龍癡人猶戽夜塘水。」

彌勒佛成開光兵部達護法同眾將軍請上堂。「久雨J37nB390_p0533b04不晴彌勒布袋未及曬㫰今承諸大護法不昧靈山J37nB390_p0533b05咐囑隨處建立道場捧佛日於中天慈容儼降廕祥J37nB390_p0533b06雲於八極金碧騰輝顯奇特中之奇特展壯觀中之J37nB390_p0533b07壯觀三湘水面碧鄰皴七十二峰青突屼不須彈指J37nB390_p0533b08樓閣門開不用思惟全身直入於此明得彌勒真彌J37nB390_p0533b09分身千百億於此不明時時示時人時人自不識。」J37nB390_p0533b10遂喝:「還會麼房酒肆無拘束柳巷花街自在游。」

兵部達公誕辰請上堂。「佛法至要非口所宣以是法J37nB390_p0533b12非思量分別之所能解故然則官不容鍼私通車馬J37nB390_p0533b13也要赴箇時節。」卓拄杖一下:「二千年前釋迦老子J37nB390_p0533b14一手指天一手指地周行七步目顧四方:『天上天J37nB390_p0533b15惟吾獨尊。』於四月八日降生淨飯王家也不出者J37nB390_p0533b16箇時節。」又卓一下:「四十六年前達公司馬於三月J37nB390_p0533b17七日誕生也不出者箇時節。」復卓一下:「四生十類J37nB390_p0533b18情與無情一齊成等正覺也不出者箇時節正當恁J37nB390_p0533b19麼時釋迦老子達公司馬情與無情那箇在前那箇J37nB390_p0533b20在後?」喝一喝:「且將補袞調羹手扶起如來正法輪。」J37nB390_p0533b21下座

師於丙辰年七月廿六日入山誅茆初闢放光山J37nB390_p0533c24建毘盧禪寺至八月十六日後閣升梁上堂:「世尊J37nB390_p0533c25因地布髮揜泥以待然燈燈見乃約眾退以手指地J37nB390_p0533c26:『此地宜建一梵剎。』時賢于長者遂拈莖草插地曰J37nB390_p0533c27建梵剎。』諸天雨華讚嘆云:『庶子有大智矣。』」師云J37nB390_p0533c28者全身擔荷諸天滿口讚揚總是口頭人事乎J37nB390_p0533c29毘盧者裏現前檀越四海高流共出隻手同勷法社J37nB390_p0533c30為梁底為梁為棟底為棟甚生標格十成壯觀於此J37nB390_p0534a01見得全無蓋覆其或未然更聽一偈一莖標豎遍山J37nB390_p0534a02玉殿瓊樓不較多金碧騰輝千古意萬年福廕祝J37nB390_p0534a03檀那。」

入院上堂。「入門一句萬古徽猷四海吾廬孰分來去J37nB390_p0534a05住興化時則有興化境界門連城郭送往迎來旌旗J37nB390_p0534a06處處填眸金鼓時時入耳戎馬為儔推因話果住毘J37nB390_p0534a07盧時則有毘盧家風土面灰頭和泥合水樹樹松聲J37nB390_p0534a08似樂頭頭鳥語如簧鹿豕為群挐雲嘯月且道住城J37nB390_p0534a09郭是住深山是?」良久:「有水皆含月無山不帶雲。」

結冬上堂機緣不錄乃云:「諸佛未出世祖師未西來J37nB390_p0534b09眾生各自開堂列聖何曾說法及乎諸佛出世祖師J37nB390_p0534b10西來隨緣有卷有舒把定無高無下若向諸佛未出J37nB390_p0534b11前為人墮在劫外若向祖師西來後為人落在J37nB390_p0534b12今時若向總不恁麼處為人坐在淨潔地上。」以拂子J37nB390_p0534b13擊香案:「會麼夾路桃花風雨後馬蹄無處避殘紅。」

臘八日上堂。「釋迦老子二千年前臘月八日於正覺J37nB390_p0534b15山前夜睹明星忽然悟道便大驚小怪奇哉一切J37nB390_p0534b16眾生皆有如來智慧德相蓋因妄想執著不能證得J37nB390_p0534b17光山要問黃面瞿曇喚什麼作智慧德相喚什麼作J37nB390_p0534b18妄想執著?」驀豎起拂子:「者箇是妄想執著那箇是J37nB390_p0534b19智慧德相?」隨放下:「者箇是智慧德相那箇是妄想J37nB390_p0534b20執著?」良久四顧:「幸自可憐生汝等來者裏討什麼J37nB390_p0534b21?」以拄杖旋風打散

兩序邈師像小參師云:「併卻咽喉唇吻道將一句來。」J37nB390_p0534b26僧云:「千尺寒潭清徹底。」師云:「浸煞你。」一僧云:「分明不J37nB390_p0534b27用道。」師云:「分明底事作麼生?」僧便喝師便打一僧云J37nB390_p0534b28清淨無瑕。」師云:「生也。」如如劉居士手舞足蹈云:「到這J37nB390_p0534b29裏自歌自舞去也。」師云:「盤山會裏不是你。」乃曰:「千尺J37nB390_p0534b30寒潭清徹底真箇清淨無瑕分明不用道聞名見而J37nB390_p0534c01一般題自歌自舞去也自起還自倒併卻咽喉唇吻J37nB390_p0534c02畢竟如何道?」打侍者一下云:「要道有甚難?」

姑蘇掃退翁祖塔歸兩序請上堂。「去去實不去吳門J37nB390_p0534c10至此三千里來來實不來歸到洪山笑眼開今朝再J37nB390_p0534c11集毘盧寺大地山河讚善哉。」良久:「好大眾且道讚J37nB390_p0534c12箇甚麼不是等閒切須薦取只如山僧往還七千里J37nB390_p0534c13離群十箇月是有去有來耶無去無來耶若道有去J37nB390_p0534c14有來眼中著楔若道無來無去腦後添釘畢竟如何J37nB390_p0534c15理會?」卓拄杖一下:「萬古長空風月在一回相見一J37nB390_p0534c16回新。」

臘八日上堂。「凡夫實謂之有聲聞析謂之無緣覺謂J37nB390_p0534c18之幻有菩薩當體即空且道世尊悟得箇甚麼?」一僧J37nB390_p0534c19:「正是時。」師云:「是甚麼時?」進云:「謾和尚不得。」師打云J37nB390_p0534c20豈止差了一度?」一僧云:「有甚奇特?」師打云:「莫道不驚J37nB390_p0534c21。」又一僧云:「時節若至其理自彰。」師云:「如何是自彰J37nB390_p0534c22底理?」僧擬議師打云:「花須連夜發莫待曉風催。」乃云J37nB390_p0534c23一九與二九相逢不出手三九與四九騎馬冰上走J37nB390_p0534c24正當今日又且如何釋迦老子一場沒興何故半夜J37nB390_p0534c25三更不點燈拈得鼻孔打失口。」

除夕示眾:「三百六十日年光忍浪擲新舊作何顏J37nB390_p0535a15請君為指出。」僧便問:「如何是不落新舊底面目?」師云J37nB390_p0535a16春來岩谷花千朵冬至乾坤玉一團。」乃曰:「一生參學J37nB390_p0535a17只看今日參要真參悟要實悟徒尚口頭終無利益J37nB390_p0535a18今時學者說不至此爾等切宜深慮及此正當今日J37nB390_p0535a19如何委悉嶺外聲聲鑼鼓鬧家家門首夜燒錢。」

山主劉瑞甫居士轉般若藏經請上堂。「一信斯門證J37nB390_p0535b20入深無邊罪業悉水清頭頭法法皆營善火裏蓮花J37nB390_p0535b21色更新瑞翁居士與予素昧壬子仲春予自江南至J37nB390_p0535b22一見便能信人至誠不息無善弗為至丙辰秋J37nB390_p0535b23施此山建立十方道場用嚴滿門福慧漸次營繕J37nB390_p0535b24成寶坊仍就本山延請禪流轉般若經》,以作將來菩J37nB390_p0535b25提智種為千生不昧正因不聞經中云:『若有人聞此J37nB390_p0535b26章句能生信心以此為實當知是人不於一佛二佛J37nB390_p0535b27五佛而種善根於無量千萬佛所種諸善根。』J37nB390_p0535b28又云:『一切諸佛及諸佛阿耨多羅三藐三菩提法皆J37nB390_p0535b29從此經出。』」遂擊案召眾云:「畢竟如何是此經釋迦老J37nB390_p0535b30子說到者裏瑞甫居士信到者裏山僧舉到者裏J37nB390_p0535c01人誦到者裏因甚只是不會其或根器未醇一時難J37nB390_p0535c02於領略卻請大眾從頭念過。」

大殿上梁上堂。「這一片地其來久矣無高無下無黨J37nB390_p0535c04無偏三世諸佛於此出身歷代祖師于中建立大眾J37nB390_p0535c05切須薦取莫待蓋覆將來其或不然別架層空樓閣J37nB390_p0535c06去也。」驀拈拄杖卓一卓:「為棟為梁為柱石當軒大J37nB390_p0535c07座喜抬眸法幢高豎毘盧頂自有千峰拜下頭。」

師於丙辰春王六日居興化山房閉關高臥杜絕塵J37nB390_p0535c09時因風鶴眾皆驚散師若不聞僧俗不忍棄去J37nB390_p0535c10七月十八日悅吾王居士子正劉居士子良謝居士J37nB390_p0535c11新景李居士暨合縣眾等排闥而入堅請出關且曰J37nB390_p0535c12佛祖大任靖退小節古人有語師豈忘之耶?」師不獲J37nB390_p0535c13從其所請二十日瑞甫劉居士偕男起仲平山J37nB390_p0535c14璇全施古菴基一支荒田數畝永為香火之貲用嚴J37nB390_p0535c15滿門福慧師欣然受之於本月廿六日入山誅茅J37nB390_p0535c16南雲之東南隅去城三十里曰西水之煙竹隴群巒J37nB390_p0535c17疊翠景物無涯勢若毘盧特起列如千佛臨筵氣鍾J37nB390_p0535c18舜帝之九嶷脈續神農之舊地砂明水秀虎踞龍蟠J37nB390_p0535c19萬有承趺重重無盡師命名曰放光山毘盧寺并以J37nB390_p0535c20偈誌用垂不朽偈曰:「地脈來由鍾帝里天城環拱獻J37nB390_p0535c21優曇柴乾水便堪客錫徑僻人頑且放憨勢拔千峰J37nB390_p0535c22攀莫及昭回萬象僅同參綿綿化母承趺座法地清J37nB390_p0535c23寧眾物安。」
