J37nB390_p0531a02雪峰問德山曰:「從上宗乘中事,學人還有分也無?」德J37nB390_p0531a03山打一棒曰:「道甚麼?」雪峰當時如桶底子脫。巖頭卻J37nB390_p0531a04道:「從門人者不是家珍。若欲播揚大教,直須一一從J37nB390_p0531a05自己胸襟流出,方始蓋天蓋地。」今時人類多不能效J37nB390_p0531a06古真實悟明、真實履踐,參學日以深、知解日以廣,撞J37nB390_p0531a07著本分衲僧,等閒痛與一劄,則依然漆桶還盛漆,尚J37nB390_p0531a08未到桶底子脫,又安望其逢緣不借、觸處皆通,夜明J37nB390_p0531a09簾外擲影翻身、荊棘林中闊行大步乎哉?諸方三百J37nB390_p0531a10五百說禪浩浩,闢倖門、鑿徑竇,詎止咒飼羽養、插翅J37nB390_p0531a11灌瓜?至有朝踵室庭、暮傳衣缽,沿街隊隊走,更僕不J37nB390_p0531a12能悉數,咸稱祖師門下客,視七破蒲團、三遭痛棒者,J37nB390_p0531a13何遲速利鈍相懸之若是耶?藉使黃面老子而在,定J37nB390_p0531a14當脫珍著敝,別轉機輪,執除糞器,語令勤作,且將從J37nB390_p0531a15前糞穢狼籍淨盡打疊,待渠自鄙先心、成就大志,方J37nB390_p0531a16可與語從上家業。不然,是栴檀與楔棘同焚、珍寶其J37nB390_p0531a17泥沙等賤,識者當頓足扼腕而深惜之矣。法昌當日J37nB390_p0531a18要覓箇不會禪底做國師,直至如今無人應選,是不J37nB390_p0531a19屑趨承?是人根下劣?予嘗謂學黨曰:「一太藏教千七J37nB390_p0531a20百,則佛祖的的為人,只消得箇轉字。能達此義,即是J37nB390_p0531a21解人。若膠柱調弦,希賡古曲,按圖索駿,異拔良林,大J37nB390_p0531a22非忘言得意者也。」楚林睿公,予法門猶子也。氣骨崚J37nB390_p0531a23𡾓,胸襟倜儻,剖樊籠于中歲,頓捨世榮;領記別于洪J37nB390_p0531a24山,遂稱禪將。刀途血海之中,飲人以甘露;金戈鐵馬J37nB390_p0531a25之內,示人以康莊。故得王公大人傾誠歸命,接足承J37nB390_p0531a26顏,迎之上都,置之高座,俾慈雲等覆,令慧日重光,公J37nB390_p0531a27固有以致之也。門人裒集其自湖南興化至金臺翊J37nB390_p0531a28教前後五會語錄,總若干卷,檀越復共捐資鋟板,以J37nB390_p0531a29廣流通。問序于予,予得卒讀,見其不牽時習,不蹈陳J37nB390_p0531a30言,隨分拈提,自然恰好。一一展拓胸襟,不借他人氣J37nB390_p0531b01力,弗求合於古而適與古會,弗事絕於今而特與今J37nB390_p0531b02殊,嘯堂兄可謂有子矣。或曰:「清淨眼中,安用著屑?」予J37nB390_p0531b03應之曰:「盡大地是沙門一隻眼,復何嫌此數紙?譬如J37nB390_p0531b04眼光,曉了前境,其光圓滿,得無愛憎?若必欲拈卻山J37nB390_p0531b05河大地,以放眼光闊綽,則是執空花為有蒂,而竭力J37nB390_p0531b06掃除,異復蕩蕩之晴空。子之愚,愚踰愚,公恐非計之J37nB390_p0531b07得也。苟或勞青未亡,即用此以為金鎞一刮,未始不J37nB390_p0531b08可。」或者語塞,遂書此以界之。

J37nB390_p0531c02 J37nB390_p0531c03師於壬子二月十三日,潭州眾護法檀越請住南雲J37nB390_p0531c04興化禪林。
J37nB390_p0531c05開鑪,上堂。師至法座,以拂子指座云:「寶華王座,巍巍J37nB390_p0531c06堂堂,不煩作禮,要上便上。」喝一喝,遂陞。拈香云:「此一J37nB390_p0531c07瓣香,光騰八極,普蔭萬方,爇向爐中,供養J37nB390_p0531c08始祖迦文、歷代諸祖,祝延今上J37nB390_p0531c09皇帝聖躬萬歲萬萬歲。伏願統百億香水海為一福J37nB390_p0531c10海,滔滔不竭;聚百億須彌山為一壽山,仰止無窮。武J37nB390_p0531c11略文經,智仁明辯。」末上,拈香云:「此一瓣香,不自西域J37nB390_p0531c12將來,不從東土拈出,立處孤危,用處險絕,覷著眼枯,J37nB390_p0531c13嗅著腦裂,爇向爐中,供養現住東巖同真堂上沒意J37nB390_p0531c14味的嘯堂大和尚,用酬法乳。」就座。維那白槌云:「法筵J37nB390_p0531c15龍象眾,當觀第一義。」師喝云:「早已落七落八了也,有J37nB390_p0531c16不落二三者,出眾相見。」一僧出便喝,師云:「好箇臨濟J37nB390_p0531c17兒孫。」僧又喝,師作和南勢,僧擬議,師便打。問:「師唱誰J37nB390_p0531c18家曲?」師云:「無人和得齊。」進云:畢竟是何曲調?師便喝,J37nB390_p0531c19進云:「依稀似曲纔堪聽,又被風吹別調中。」師云:「將謂J37nB390_p0531c20知音,原來不是。」乃云:「瞿曇老子為一大事因緣故出J37nB390_p0531c21現於世,欲令眾生等入佛之知見。大眾!且道那箇眾J37nB390_p0531c22生是無知見底?若一切眾生既有知見,因甚須待如J37nB390_p0531c23來出現然後得入?且又作麼生說箇得入的道理?」驀J37nB390_p0531c24拈拄杖云:「於此通得一線,方見白浪山頭起,紅塵海J37nB390_p0531c25底生,大用繁興,自在無礙,可以鉗槌佛祖,號令人天。J37nB390_p0531c26其或未然……」便擲下拄杖云:「坐斷十方猶點額,密移一J37nB390_p0531c27步看飛龍。」上首結槌云:「諦觀法王法,法王法如是。」
J37nB390_p0531c28大士像成開光,眾會首請上堂。「圓通大啟,萬善咸歸,J37nB390_p0531c29百匝千重,維新永固。聞其聲則功超諸聖,禮其像則J37nB390_p0531c30福等河沙,入不思議解脫境界,作不思議廣大佛事,J37nB390_p0532a01度不思議根熟眾生,成不思議勝妙功德。」揮拂子云:J37nB390_p0532a02「觀世音菩薩來也,在拂子頭上轉大法輪,頭頭無礙,J37nB390_p0532a03法法圓融。或以眼處作耳處佛事,或以耳處作眼處J37nB390_p0532a04佛事,或以鼻處作舌處佛事,或以舌處作鼻處佛事,J37nB390_p0532a05乃至風動林搖,泉鳴谷應,猿啼鳥語,漁唱樵歌,盡是J37nB390_p0532a06無作妙力助發觀音普門現前。大眾!各各從此獲本J37nB390_p0532a07妙心,得大自在,滅諸有苦,善應無疲。」驀豎拂子云:「還J37nB390_p0532a08見觀音麼?」復喝一喝。舉:「石頭問長髭云:『什處來?』髭云:J37nB390_p0532a09『嶺南來。』頭云:『大庾嶺頭一舖功德成就也未?』髭云:『成J37nB390_p0532a10就久矣,只欠點眼。』頭云:『莫要點眼麼?』髭云:『便請。』頭垂J37nB390_p0532a11一足,髭便禮拜。頭云:『子見箇什麼道理便禮拜?』髭云:J37nB390_p0532a12『如紅爐上一片雪。』」師云:「石頭雖善點眼,未免費盡腕J37nB390_p0532a13頭氣力。興化一堂功德成就久矣,亦只欠點眼。若云:J37nB390_p0532a14『便請。』山僧只向他道:『處處彌陀佛,家家觀世音。』且道J37nB390_p0532a15與古人相去多少?」
J37nB390_p0532a16小參。「笠下清風,胸次無塵始見;杖頭明月,頂門具眼J37nB390_p0532a17方窺。汝等各各眼光爍破四天下,還見興化老做處J37nB390_p0532a18麼?」眾無對。師云:「一似瞎。」復舉:「盤山云:『向上一路,千聖J37nB390_p0532a19不傳。』慈明云:『向上一路,千聖不然。』大慧云:『向上一路,J37nB390_p0532a20熱碗鳴聲。』」師云:「三大老總只發明得向下一路。若是J37nB390_p0532a21向上一路,直是三生六十劫興化見處,也要諸人共J37nB390_p0532a22知向上一路滑。」
J37nB390_p0532a23南雲眾居士入山設齋,請上堂。舉:「甘贄行者入南泉J37nB390_p0532a24設齋時,黃檗為首座,贄請施財,檗曰:『財、法二施,等無J37nB390_p0532a25差別。』贄曰:『恁麼道,爭消得某甲親?』便舁錢出去。須臾J37nB390_p0532a26復入,曰:『請施財。』檗曰:『財、法二施,等無差別。』贄乃行親。J37nB390_p0532a27退翁師祖道:『首座固是熟處難忘,未免執一不變;行J37nB390_p0532a28者可謂予奪臨時,太煞希功冀傚。怎似梁谿五居士J37nB390_p0532a29設齋不矜不伐,秪要諸人飽便休?』」師云:「興化者裏又J37nB390_p0532a30且不然,南雲眾居士入山設齋,行親彼此俱無系毫J37nB390_p0532b01施受之心,饅頭䭔子一任諸人橫咬豎咬,飽了更須J37nB390_p0532b02吐卻始得。」
J37nB390_p0532b03清一璽子對靈小參。「諸法不自生,亦不從他生,不共J37nB390_p0532b04不無因,是故說無生。敢問大眾:既是不自生,又不從J37nB390_p0532b05他生,不共不無因,喚什麼作無生?於斯薦得,清一璽J37nB390_p0532b06子二十年前生本不曾生,二十年後滅亦未嘗滅,三J37nB390_p0532b07千里外把手共行。正當恁麼時,如何相見?」高聲云:「看J37nB390_p0532b08腳下。」
J37nB390_p0532b09小參。「興化不會禪道佛法,只是穿衣喫飯,閒坐倦眠。J37nB390_p0532b10是則固是,忽然枕子𨁝跳上三十三天,觸著帝釋鼻J37nB390_p0532b11孔,東海鯉魚打一棒,雨似盆傾,又作麼生?」以拂子打J37nB390_p0532b12圓相,云:「業識茫茫,無本可據,達磨大師急著眼覷。」
J37nB390_p0532b13上堂。拈拄杖卓一下,云:「於此須辨緇素。」良久,云:「諸禪J37nB390_p0532b14德!緇素作麼生辨?杳杳冥冥,恍恍忽忽,達磨眼睛,廣J37nB390_p0532b15州漆具,縱饒辨得分明,也是途中露布。」
J37nB390_p0532b16證果寺去六大師八旬誕辰,請上堂。「坐一走六,處處J37nB390_p0532b17花攢錦簇;撥六用一,著著風規壁立。南嶽山青,洞庭J37nB390_p0532b18水碧,丹葉傳書天降來,芙蕖捧香地湧出,合山慶快J37nB390_p0532b19喜添籌,趙州寶掌居其側。興化慣自錦上鋪花,更添J37nB390_p0532b20一分別處土宜,祗是不堪出手,親從威音王已前收J37nB390_p0532b21下箇物,名不得,狀不得,無與等,最越格。妙手畫難工,J37nB390_p0532b22海口讚莫及,佛眼覷不見,祖師道不識。囊之以錦繡,J37nB390_p0532b23蘊之以玉帛,秘而不傳,直至今日壽法壽人方敢將J37nB390_p0532b24出。」喝一喝,云:「是什麼?攤向證果堂前問取南雲古佛。」
J37nB390_p0532b25晚參。師問:「世尊不說說,迦葉不聞聞。已前事如何?」眾J37nB390_p0532b26著語不契,請師代語。師曰:「八十翁翁輥繡毬。」眾曰:「請J37nB390_p0532b27師頌出。」師朗聲曰:「八十翁翁輥繡毬,腰纏跨鶴上楊J37nB390_p0532b28州。四五百條花柳巷,二三千處管絃樓。」
J37nB390_p0532b29解三,小參。「三日前,三日後,仔細看來全漏逗,十字街J37nB390_p0532b30頭石敢當,始終不解藏家醜。報道:達磨無心,釋迦有J37nB390_p0532c01口,說了四十九年,狼藉八斛四斗,賺得神光立雪深,J37nB390_p0532c02一箇渾身盡分剖。山僧無法施行,總付糞箕苕帚。」
J37nB390_p0532c03胡桂生居士六十初度,請上堂。問答畢,乃曰:「麋游巨J37nB390_p0532c04壑,鶴立喬松。古砌鳴玉管之蟬,長空走冰盤之兔。桂J37nB390_p0532c05樹香浮,蓮房子實。末釐惲露法身,高下了無剩欠。滿J37nB390_p0532c06眼滿耳,全放全收。」拈拄杖顧左右曰:「且道無量壽如J37nB390_p0532c07來即今居何國土?」卓一下曰:「十成好曲無生調,唱作J37nB390_p0532c08千秋白石歌。」拋杖下座。
J37nB390_p0532c09晚參。舉:「僧問智門:『如何是般若體?』門云:『蚌含明月。』『如J37nB390_p0532c10何是般若用?』門云:『兔子懷胎。』」師云:「古今盡謂奇特,殊J37nB390_p0532c11不知雲門會裏閃爍生光,臨濟家風更須別展。如何J37nB390_p0532c12是般若體?猿啼岳麓。如何是般若用?漁唱瀟湘。眾中J37nB390_p0532c13設有隨他舌頭轉底,撿點道:『老老大大話頭也不炤J37nB390_p0532c14顧。』我也知你是箇漆桶。」
J37nB390_p0532c15晚參。僧問:「十方同聚會,箇箇學無為。此是選佛場,心J37nB390_p0532c16空及第歸。如何是心空及第歸底旨趣?」師默然。僧曰:J37nB390_p0532c17「自從舞得三臺後,拍拍原來總是歌。」師亦默然。僧曰:J37nB390_p0532c18「而今不必重拈出,大家齊唱太平歌。」師亦默然。問:「一J37nB390_p0532c19言道盡時如何?」師曰:「死水不藏龍。」僧曰:「如何是活水J37nB390_p0532c20龍?」師便打。
J37nB390_p0532c21結夏,小參。「古者道:『一百日緊結布袋頭,斷斷不容走J37nB390_p0532c22作。』仔細看來,大似癩馬繫枯樁,進退不得自由,有甚J37nB390_p0532c23快活處?興化者裏盡大地是箇禪堂,一任諸人橫出J37nB390_p0532c24豎沒、左之右之,但不得作佛法商量,亦不得作住禪J37nB390_p0532c25堂會。離此二途,速道,速道。」
J37nB390_p0532c26上堂。舉德山托缽公案畢,師云:「者則公案,古今批判J37nB390_p0532c27者甚多,錯會者不少。興化真實相告:雪峰善用截流J37nB390_p0532c28之刃,德山慣輸陷虎之機,嵒頭知而故犯,罪案彌天。J37nB390_p0532c29唱教門中固不無德山父子,若是末後句,莫說三年J37nB390_p0532c30後示寂,即使活到今日,亦未許渠在。」
J37nB390_p0533a01小參。良久,顧左右,云:「山僧有副屎腸,一一為汝抖擻。J37nB390_p0533a02臨濟莽鹵,劈頭便喝;德山粗暴,落脊便摟;趙州破家,J37nB390_p0533a03只喚吃茶;曹山孝滿,一味顛酒;象骨攔路,輥三箇毬;J37nB390_p0533a04紫湖當門,縱一隻狗。盡道誇勝爭強,不知出乘露醜,J37nB390_p0533a05引得嘉州石佛笑呵呵,賺卻陝府鐵牛沿路走。」忽云:J37nB390_p0533a06「山僧今日說四眾過,罪犯彌天,將入拔舌地獄去也。J37nB390_p0533a07大兄小弟還有相救者麼?」良久,喝一喝,云:「寧可永劫J37nB390_p0533a08受沉淪,不從諸聖求解脫。」便下座。
J37nB390_p0533a09解制,上堂。「天無門,地無戶,亂走衲僧向什處去?饒汝J37nB390_p0533a10道箇不是西天、便歸東土,也被興化拄杖子穿卻鼻J37nB390_p0533a11孔。」攛拄杖,下座。
J37nB390_p0533a12早參。「古人云:『佛者,心清淨是;法者,心光明是;道者,處J37nB390_p0533a13處無礙淨光是。』」喝一喝,云:「三段不同,可恕走殺無位J37nB390_p0533a14真人。」
J37nB390_p0533a15霖垓闍黎斷七,小參。「今朝八月一,七七事已畢,一幅J37nB390_p0533a16靈床化火中,百草頭邊從出沒。」豎拂子,云:「還拘繫得J37nB390_p0533a17麼?」便拋下,云:「不可不快活也。」
J37nB390_p0533a18學士徐公、總戎謝公等立法名,請上堂。喝一喝,云:「此J37nB390_p0533a19箇門中排身而入,純其忠、達其孝、廣其智、漙其德,君J37nB390_p0533a20以斯而致、民以斯而澤,一切智智清淨,無二、無二分,J37nB390_p0533a21無別、無斷故。奉持此道真言,更有何法不備?」復一喝。J37nB390_p0533a22舉:「裴相國一日捧一尊佛像于黃檗前,跪曰:『請師安J37nB390_p0533a23名。』檗喚裴休,休應諾,檗云:『與汝安名竟。』休云:『謝師安J37nB390_p0533a24名。』」師云:「裴公跪請不是好心,今日學士徐公等請山J37nB390_p0533a25僧陞座安名,因名之曰照曇、號之曰機宜,各各為之J37nB390_p0533a26安名立字竟。且道:與黃檗安名是同?是別?」驀揮拂子,J37nB390_p0533a27云:「一寸筆頭三尺劍,安邦定國是斯人。」
J37nB390_p0533a28上堂。舉臨濟三度喫棒因緣畢,乃曰:「有者道得黃檗J37nB390_p0533a29力;有者道得大愚力;有者道非但騎虎頭,亦解收虎J37nB390_p0533a30尾;有者道未出黃檗綱子在;有者道金烹大冶,玉出J37nB390_p0533b01藍田。且喜總沒交涉。」驀拈拄杖,卓一卓,云:「會麼?三汲J37nB390_p0533b02浪高魚化龍,癡人猶戽夜塘水。」
J37nB390_p0533b03彌勒佛成開光,兵部達護法同眾將軍請上堂。「久雨J37nB390_p0533b04不晴,彌勒布袋未及曬㫰,今承諸大護法不昧靈山J37nB390_p0533b05咐囑,隨處建立道場,捧佛日於中天,慈容儼降;廕祥J37nB390_p0533b06雲於八極,金碧騰輝。顯奇特中之奇特,展壯觀中之J37nB390_p0533b07壯觀,三湘水面碧鄰皴,七十二峰青突屼。不須彈指,J37nB390_p0533b08樓閣門開;不用思惟,全身直入。於此明得,彌勒真彌J37nB390_p0533b09勒,分身千百億;於此不明,時時示時人,時人自不識。」J37nB390_p0533b10遂喝,云:「還會麼?婬房酒肆無拘束,柳巷花街自在游。」
J37nB390_p0533b11兵部達公誕辰,請上堂。「佛法至要,非口所宣,以是法J37nB390_p0533b12非思量分別之所能解故。然則官不容鍼,私通車馬,J37nB390_p0533b13也要赴箇時節。」卓拄杖一下,云:「二千年前,釋迦老子J37nB390_p0533b14一手指天、一手指地,周行七步,目顧四方,云:『天上天J37nB390_p0533b15下,惟吾獨尊。』於四月八日降生淨飯王家,也不出者J37nB390_p0533b16箇時節。」又卓一下,云:「四十六年前,達公司馬於三月J37nB390_p0533b17七日誕生,也不出者箇時節。」復卓一下,云:「四生十類,J37nB390_p0533b18情與無情一齊成等正覺,也不出者箇時節。正當恁J37nB390_p0533b19麼時,釋迦老子、達公司馬,情與無情,那箇在前?那箇J37nB390_p0533b20在後?」喝一喝,云:「且將補袞調羹手,扶起如來正法輪。」J37nB390_p0533b21下座。
J37nB390_p0533b22小參。舉:「臨濟見僧來,舉起拂子,僧禮拜,濟便打。又僧J37nB390_p0533b23來,濟舉起拂子,僧不顧,濟亦打。又僧來,濟舉起拂子,J37nB390_p0533b24僧曰:『謝和尚指示。』濟亦打。」師曰:「一棒超佛越祖,一棒J37nB390_p0533b25合水和泥,一棒全無巴鼻。若人辨得,天下橫行。」
J37nB390_p0533b26沙彌戒期,悅吾王護法偕男全斌設齋,請上堂。問答J37nB390_p0533b27畢,乃云:「欲行千里,一步為初。踏得著,穩坐家堂;踏不J37nB390_p0533b28著,伶俜辛苦。」拈拄杖,云:「著與不著,不離這箇。」卓一卓,J37nB390_p0533b29云:「這一箇,那一箇,更一箇,且放過。不放過,增話墮。錯!J37nB390_p0533b30錯!牛解耕田,驢便拽磨,一味平常,將人賺誤,入作無J37nB390_p0533c01門。」拈拄杖,卓一卓,云:「且就這路。」顧左右,云:「會麼?豈不J37nB390_p0533c02見金翅鳥王當宇宙,一絲纔掛便超倫?」復舉:「藥山謂J37nB390_p0533c03雲嵒曰:『與我喚沙彌來。』嵒云:『和尚喚他作甚麼?』山云:J37nB390_p0533c04『我有箇折腳鐺子,要他提上挈下。』嵒云:『恁麼則與和J37nB390_p0533c05尚出隻手也。』」師云:「師資會遇,如水投水,藥山、雲嵒,要J37nB390_p0533c06且無禮。」

J37nB390_p0533c22 J37nB390_p0533c23師於丙辰年七月廿六日入山誅茆,初闢放光山,鼎J37nB390_p0533c24建毘盧禪寺。至八月十六日,後閣升梁,上堂。舉:「世尊J37nB390_p0533c25因地布髮揜泥,以待然燈。燈見,乃約眾退,以手指地J37nB390_p0533c26曰:『此地宜建一梵剎。』時賢于長者遂拈莖草插地曰:J37nB390_p0533c27『建梵剎已竟。』諸天雨華讚嘆云:『庶子有大智矣。』」師云:J37nB390_p0533c28長「者全身擔荷,諸天滿口讚揚,總是口頭人事乎?似J37nB390_p0533c29毘盧者裏現前檀越,四海高流共出隻手,同勷法社,J37nB390_p0533c30為梁底為梁、為棟底為棟,甚生標格,十成壯觀。於此J37nB390_p0534a01見得,全無蓋覆。其或未然,更聽一偈:一莖標豎遍山J37nB390_p0534a02河,玉殿瓊樓不較多,金碧騰輝千古意,萬年福廕祝J37nB390_p0534a03檀那。」
J37nB390_p0534a04入院,上堂。「入門一句,萬古徽猷,四海吾廬,孰分來去?J37nB390_p0534a05住興化時,則有興化境界,門連城郭,送往迎來,旌旗J37nB390_p0534a06處處填眸,金鼓時時入耳,戎馬為儔,推因話果;住毘J37nB390_p0534a07盧時,則有毘盧家風,土面灰頭,和泥合水,樹樹松聲J37nB390_p0534a08似樂,頭頭鳥語如簧,鹿豕為群,挐雲嘯月。且道:住城J37nB390_p0534a09郭是?住深山是?」良久,云:「有水皆含月,無山不帶雲。」
J37nB390_p0534a10初樹毘盧佛像,上堂。「久雨不晴,惟恐爛卻法身;雲收J37nB390_p0534a11日杲,特為拈出曬眼。有者道:『溪聲便是廣長舌,山色J37nB390_p0534a12豈非清淨身?』正是迷己逐物,癡狂外走。有者道:『口吞J37nB390_p0534a13佛祖,眼蓋乾坤。』儱侗瞞頇,無語話分。有者道:『毘盧有J37nB390_p0534a14師,法身有主。』頭上安頭,嘴上加嘴。有者道:『佛身充滿J37nB390_p0534a15於法界,普現一切群生前。』浮逼逼地座主見解。」拈拄J37nB390_p0534a16杖卓一下,云:「者四種人,一齊按過了也。畢竟如何是J37nB390_p0534a17清淨法身?」遂合掌,云:「南無清淨法身如來、應供、正遍J37nB390_p0534a18知。此是賓臺楊居士夫婦發心造的,汝等諦觀仰瞻,J37nB390_p0534a19切莫妄想。」
J37nB390_p0534a20學士徐公席珍入山相訪,陞座。「桃花浪暖,柳絮風和,J37nB390_p0534a21魚龍變頭角之時,鸞鳳換毛羽之日。光山這裏,溪深J37nB390_p0534a22路僻,土曠人稀,笑談罕遇高僧,傾倒難逢佳客。今者,J37nB390_p0534a23仰荷學士臨筵,輝騰蓬蓽,不論選官、選佛,何分世、出J37nB390_p0534a24世間?大哉!過量人能行過量事。山僧自揣涼德無可J37nB390_p0534a25將呈,搜盡枯腸了無半字,只得捩轉達磨鼻頭,且向J37nB390_p0534a26孔門出氣。喜恕哀樂之未發謂之中,敢問大眾:喜恕J37nB390_p0534a27哀樂之未發已前,且道自己在甚麼處?」遂顧左右,云:J37nB390_p0534a28「以我為隱乎?」驀拋拂子,云:「吾無隱乎爾。」便下座。
J37nB390_p0534a29出隊歸,上堂。「出隊兩箇月,談玄口生澀。打失主人公,J37nB390_p0534a30走卻甕中鱉。驀地入山來,▆烏俱饒舌。休饒舌,山自J37nB390_p0534b01高兮水自闊。」
J37nB390_p0534b02解夏,上堂。「布袋頭開,了無拘束,一任諸人橫肩拄杖、J37nB390_p0534b03腰掛缽盂,長者天然長、短者天然短,不用續鳧截鶴,J37nB390_p0534b04任他各赴時宜,管甚萬里無寸草、出門便是草?但恁J37nB390_p0534b05麼去,正是業識忙忙,無本可拘。縱使心如皎月、意似J37nB390_p0534b06寒潭,直饒觸目光華,未免墮在毒海。去此二途,如何J37nB390_p0534b07行履?芍藥花開菩薩面,棕櫚葉散夜叉頭。」
J37nB390_p0534b08結冬,上堂。機緣不錄,乃云:「諸佛未出世,祖師未西來,J37nB390_p0534b09眾生各自開堂,列聖何曾說法?及乎諸佛出世,祖師J37nB390_p0534b10西來,隨緣有卷有舒,把定無高無下。若向諸佛未出J37nB390_p0534b11世已前為人,墮在劫外;若向祖師西來後為人,落在J37nB390_p0534b12今時;若向總不恁麼處為人,坐在淨潔地上。」以拂子J37nB390_p0534b13擊香案,云:「會麼?夾路桃花風雨後,馬蹄無處避殘紅。」
J37nB390_p0534b14臘八日,上堂。「釋迦老子二千年前臘月八日於正覺J37nB390_p0534b15山前夜睹明星,忽然悟道,便大驚小怪,云:奇哉!一切J37nB390_p0534b16眾生皆有如來智慧德相,蓋因妄想執著不能證得。J37nB390_p0534b17光山要問黃面瞿曇:喚什麼作智慧德相?喚什麼作J37nB390_p0534b18妄想執著?」驀豎起拂子,云:「者箇是妄想執著,那箇是J37nB390_p0534b19智慧德相?」隨放下,云:「者箇是智慧德相,那箇是妄想J37nB390_p0534b20執著?」良久,四顧,云:「幸自可憐生,汝等來者裏討什麼J37nB390_p0534b21碗?」以拄杖旋風打散。
J37nB390_p0534b22知縣徐機宜、州同吳天覺親師座下,躬為舂爨。一日J37nB390_p0534b23索偈,師衝口曰:「知縣舂碓,州同燒火,大丈夫兒,無可J37nB390_p0534b24不可。」又曰:「燒火舂碓,現前三昧,文殊普賢,成群作隊。」
J37nB390_p0534b25兩序邈師像,小參。師云:「併卻咽喉唇吻,道將一句來。」J37nB390_p0534b26僧云:「千尺寒潭清徹底。」師云:「浸煞你。」一僧云:「分明不J37nB390_p0534b27用道。」師云:「分明底事作麼生?」僧便喝,師便打。一僧云:J37nB390_p0534b28「清淨無瑕。」師云:「生也。」如如劉居士手舞足蹈云:「到這J37nB390_p0534b29裏自歌自舞去也。」師云:「盤山會裏不是你。」乃曰:「千尺J37nB390_p0534b30寒潭清徹底,真箇清淨無瑕;分明不用道,聞名見而J37nB390_p0534c01一般題。自歌自舞去也,自起還自倒,併卻咽喉唇吻,J37nB390_p0534c02畢竟如何道?」打侍者一下云:「要道有甚難?」
J37nB390_p0534c03解制,小參。「五蘊山頭一段空,千紅萬紫艷芳叢,鴉鳴J37nB390_p0534c04雀噪渾無定,沙界乾坤芥粒中。衲僧家,動若行雲,止J37nB390_p0534c05猶谷神,行無行蹤,住無住相,東湧西沒,南湧北沒,中J37nB390_p0534c06湧邊沒,淨裸裸、赤洒洒,沒可把,逢場作戲,隨緣即宗,J37nB390_p0534c07水到渠成,風行草偃。且道:承誰恩力?」良久,云:「寧可截J37nB390_p0534c08舌,不犯國諱。」
J37nB390_p0534c09姑蘇掃退翁祖塔歸,兩序請上堂。「去去實不去,吳門J37nB390_p0534c10至此三千里;來來實不來,歸到洪山笑眼開。今朝再J37nB390_p0534c11集毘盧寺,大地山河讚善哉。」良久,曰:「好大眾!且道讚J37nB390_p0534c12箇甚麼?不是等閒,切須薦取。只如山僧往還七千里、J37nB390_p0534c13離群十箇月,是有去有來耶?無去無來耶?若道有去J37nB390_p0534c14有來,眼中著楔;若道無來無去,腦後添釘。畢竟如何J37nB390_p0534c15理會?」卓拄杖一下,云:「萬古長空風月在,一回相見一J37nB390_p0534c16回新。」
J37nB390_p0534c17臘八日,上堂。「凡夫實謂之有,聲聞析謂之無,緣覺謂J37nB390_p0534c18之幻有,菩薩當體即空。且道世尊悟得箇甚麼?」一僧J37nB390_p0534c19云:「正是時。」師云:「是甚麼時?」進云:「謾和尚不得。」師打云:J37nB390_p0534c20「豈止差了一度?」一僧云:「有甚奇特?」師打云:「莫道不驚J37nB390_p0534c21華。」又一僧云:「時節若至,其理自彰。」師云:「如何是自彰J37nB390_p0534c22底理?」僧擬議,師打云:「花須連夜發,莫待曉風催。」乃云:J37nB390_p0534c23「一九與二九,相逢不出手;三九與四九,騎馬冰上走。J37nB390_p0534c24正當今日又且如何?釋迦老子一場沒興。何故?半夜J37nB390_p0534c25三更不點燈,拈得鼻孔打失口。」
J37nB390_p0534c26仰山順弗和尚率兩序入山設齋,請上堂。僧問:「如何J37nB390_p0534c27是奪人不奪境?」師云:「雪下少人行。」「如何是奪境不奪J37nB390_p0534c28人?」師云:「孤舟獨自橫。」「如何是人境兩俱奪?」師打,云:「識J37nB390_p0534c29得木上座也未?」「如何是人境俱不奪?」師云:「賓主相逢J37nB390_p0534c30闔院忻。」乃云:「光山一路,曲磴千尋,溪深水急,壑聳雲J37nB390_p0535a01凝,風雷有時動蕩,日月交互升沉,燒榾柮火、煮野菜J37nB390_p0535a02根,終朝飽食噇眠,齒牙縫裏不曾咬著佛法兩字,這J37nB390_p0535a03等無慚愧漢,只好向無人煙處緊靠枯藤。不意法兄J37nB390_p0535a04和尚降重荒山,直得林泉起舞、蓬蓽生輝,正所謂大J37nB390_p0535a05人境界,遇達者以恢揚;格外機關,待知音而顯露。不J37nB390_p0535a06見谷泉訪慈明于福嚴,云:『片雲橫谷口,道人何處來?』J37nB390_p0535a07泉云:『夜來何處火,燒出古人墳?』明云:『未在,更道。』泉作J37nB390_p0535a08虎聲,明打一坐具,泉推明就坐,明亦作虎聲,泉云:『我J37nB390_p0535a09見七十餘員善知識,惟師繼得臨濟宗風。』大眾!二大J37nB390_p0535a10老恁麼相見,雖則進以禮、退以禮,共扶臨濟綱宗,仔J37nB390_p0535a11細看來,未免忉怛。某與仰山和尚相見,握手一笑而J37nB390_p0535a12已。且道與古人相去多少?」驀拈拄杖,卓一卓,云:「主賓J37nB390_p0535a13坐立無回互,格外知音更有誰?」
J37nB390_p0535a14除夕,示眾。曰:「三百六十日,年光忍浪擲,新舊作何顏?J37nB390_p0535a15請君為指出。」僧便問:「如何是不落新舊底面目?」師云:J37nB390_p0535a16「春來岩谷花千朵,冬至乾坤玉一團。」乃曰:「一生參學,J37nB390_p0535a17只看今日,參要真參,悟要實悟,徒尚口頭,終無利益。J37nB390_p0535a18今時學者說不至此,爾等切宜深慮及此。正當今日,J37nB390_p0535a19如何委悉?嶺外聲聲鑼鼓鬧,家家門首夜燒錢。」
J37nB390_p0535a20元旦,陞座。僧問:「昨日舊年尾,今朝新年頭,新舊即不J37nB390_p0535a21問,頭尾是如何?」師打,云:「拄杖子今日開封。」進云:「恁麼J37nB390_p0535a22則萬象回春也。」師又打,云:「龍得水當添意氣,虎逢山J37nB390_p0535a23合長威獰。」乃曰:「新年頭佛法有,釋迦老子徒開口;新J37nB390_p0535a24年頭佛法無,維摩何必口盧都?」驀拈拄杖,云:「惟有者J37nB390_p0535a25上座,不屬新、不屬舊、不屬有、不屬無,不帶枝柯,天然J37nB390_p0535a26條直,雖存節目,豈借名言?只因新年頭人事冗煩,於J37nB390_p0535a27半睡半醒之間,人間天上、東土西乾,挈挈波波周行J37nB390_p0535a28一匝,忽地撞著安樂山神,伸手把住,云:『汝與佛祖為J37nB390_p0535a29師,要作人天標榜,無端亂走,圖箇甚麼?是為佛法而J37nB390_p0535a30來耶?是為世法而來耶?若為佛法來,一切諸法由汝J37nB390_p0535b01建立,何必沿路之遶?若為世法來,是法住法位,世間J37nB390_p0535b02相常住,曷用又來至此?』拄杖子被這一問,直得無言J37nB390_p0535b03可對、無禮可伸,滿而慚惶,通身愧竦,依然回到山僧J37nB390_p0535b04手裏,穩貼貼地不敢則聲。山僧今日朁他出氣。」遂卓J37nB390_p0535b05拄杖,云:「宇宙撐來須汝力,門庭扶起藉誰功?」拽拄杖,J37nB390_p0535b06下座。
J37nB390_p0535b07仰山頗弗和尚六旬誕辰,請上堂。僧擬出,師以拂子J37nB390_p0535b08截住,云:「住,住!既是家裏人,那肯說客話?縱饒問似普J37nB390_p0535b09慧雲興、答如普賢瓶瀉,亦未當諸人本分事在。曹溪J37nB390_p0535b10路上二株嫩桂婆娑,承其蔭者雖有多士;天山門下J37nB390_p0535b11兩座靈峰峭拔,造其巔者能得幾人?血脈綿長、兒孫J37nB390_p0535b12烜赫,若論不才,奚當是選?蓋因客聽主裁,遂致轉身J37nB390_p0535b13就位。既到今日,說箇甚麼即得菩提、涅槃、真如、佛性?J37nB390_p0535b14祖意、教意是我從上諸祖颺在磕𢶍堆頭底糞穢,主J37nB390_p0535b15賓棒喝、玄要綱宗是我祝聖和尚尋常煎過的藥渣。」J37nB390_p0535b16忽起身顧左右,云:「大眾還會麼?光山有箇倒數花甲J37nB390_p0535b17底句子奉祝長兄和尚。」良久,卓拄杖一下,云:「一歸不J37nB390_p0535b18須歸,其法故不立。」便下座。
J37nB390_p0535b19山主劉瑞甫居士轉般若藏經,請上堂。「一信斯門證J37nB390_p0535b20入深,無邊罪業悉水清,頭頭法法皆營善,火裏蓮花J37nB390_p0535b21色更新。瑞翁居士與予素昧,壬子仲春,予自江南至J37nB390_p0535b22此,一見便能信人,至誠不息,無善弗為。至丙辰秋,樂J37nB390_p0535b23施此山,建立十方道場,用嚴滿門福慧,漸次營繕,將J37nB390_p0535b24成寶坊,仍就本山延請禪流轉《般若經》,以作將來菩J37nB390_p0535b25提智種,為千生不昧正因。不聞經中云:『若有人聞此J37nB390_p0535b26章句,能生信心,以此為實。當知是人不於一佛、二佛、J37nB390_p0535b27三、四、五佛而種善根,已於無量千萬佛所種諸善根。』J37nB390_p0535b28又云:『一切諸佛及諸佛阿耨多羅三藐三菩提法皆J37nB390_p0535b29從此經出。』」遂擊案召眾云:「畢竟如何是此經?釋迦老J37nB390_p0535b30子說到者裏、瑞甫居士信到者裏、山僧舉到者裏、諸J37nB390_p0535c01人誦到者裏,因甚只是不會?其或根器未醇,一時難J37nB390_p0535c02於領略,卻請大眾從頭念過。」
J37nB390_p0535c03大殿上梁,上堂。「這一片地,其來久矣,無高無下,無黨J37nB390_p0535c04無偏,三世諸佛於此出身,歷代祖師于中建立。大眾J37nB390_p0535c05切須薦取,莫待蓋覆將來;其或不然,別架層空樓閣J37nB390_p0535c06去也。」驀拈拄杖,卓一卓,云:「為棟為梁為柱石,當軒大J37nB390_p0535c07座喜抬眸,法幢高豎毘盧頂,自有千峰拜下頭。」
J37nB390_p0535c08師於丙辰春王六日居興化山房,閉關高臥,杜絕塵J37nB390_p0535c09緣。時因風鶴,眾皆驚散,師若不聞,僧俗不忍棄去。至J37nB390_p0535c10七月十八日,悅吾王居士、子正劉居士、子良謝居士、J37nB390_p0535c11新景李居士暨合縣眾等排闥而入,堅請出關,且曰:J37nB390_p0535c12「佛祖大任,靖退小節,古人有語,師豈忘之耶?」師不獲J37nB390_p0535c13已,從其所請。二十日,瑞甫劉居士偕男起仲、平山,季J37nB390_p0535c14璇全,施古菴基一支、荒田數畝,永為香火之貲,用嚴J37nB390_p0535c15滿門福慧,師欣然受之。於本月廿六日入山誅茅,在J37nB390_p0535c16南雲之東南隅,去城三十里,曰西水之煙竹隴,群巒J37nB390_p0535c17疊翠,景物無涯,勢若毘盧特起,列如千佛臨筵,氣鍾J37nB390_p0535c18舜帝之九嶷,脈續神農之舊地,砂明水秀,虎踞龍蟠,J37nB390_p0535c19萬有承趺,重重無盡,師命名曰放光山毘盧寺,并以J37nB390_p0535c20偈誌,用垂不朽。偈曰:「地脈來由鍾帝里,天城環拱獻J37nB390_p0535c21優曇,柴乾水便堪客錫,徑僻人頑且放憨。勢拔千峰J37nB390_p0535c22攀莫及,昭回萬象僅同參,綿綿化母承趺座,法地清J37nB390_p0535c23寧眾物安。」
