J37nB384_p0243a02嘗見今之學佛者,淺嗜墨兵,嚼蠟膚言,矢口堂皇以J37nB384_p0243a03為世間文辭不過是矣!且曰教外傳宗不立文字,遂J37nB384_p0243a04局見於甕天牖日,亦可哂也,彼焉知大釋迦文佛盡J37nB384_p0243a05世間解、吐廣長舌,說三藏經文詞義浩博,茫若望洋?J37nB384_p0243a06如吾儒者,胸藏四庫、腹笥二酉,龍蒸虎蔚,妙奪天機J37nB384_p0243a07之巧,若非耽蠹有年,書繙藜閣者,豈能搦管思元,落J37nB384_p0243a08紙語粹,疇謂不學而能之乎?憨休和尚學貫華、竺,器J37nB384_p0243a09偉達、能,法性超宗,道弘通變,禪餘之暇,因事導物、寓J37nB384_p0243a10境寫情,故有文詞錄在叢席。乙丑夏,余客長安,過訪J37nB384_p0243a11興善,見案頭一帙,名曰《敲空遺響》,展讀之,如商彝周J37nB384_p0243a12鼎高古清奇,宗旨俱墳典中來,拔秀揚芬,鑿鑿可式。J37nB384_p0243a13文薈藝苑,正大以敦倫;辭取騷選,博綜以盡理;翰類J37nB384_p0243a14蘇李,辭達而旨明;詩近陶韋,沖澹以入格。其間波瀾J37nB384_p0243a15跌宕,一吐一吞極盡風雲之態,如霞布天衢,光輝奪J37nB384_p0243a16目。師之道之禪不可得而知,以師之才之學於斯可J37nB384_p0243a17見,雖世之專學名家猶有所不逮也,豈獨釋氏之學J37nB384_p0243a18者藉為指南?而吾儒之欲造作者之場者,亦當寄徑J37nB384_p0243a19於茲矣!故樂序其首,表而出之以公諸宇內云。

序
J37nB384_p0243a22憨休老人主北方禪宗第一拈花之座,其燈分白鳳J37nB384_p0243a23穴雲峨喜和尚,所以超馬祖、匹臨濟而直上之,曹谿J37nB384_p0243a24之派當泛漲洪流以應此瑞者歟?棒頭喝下,另集餘J37nB384_p0243a25音僅成一編,名曰《敲空遺響》,類皆文詞詩翰,淵源私J37nB384_p0243a26淑當有自來。文聿本乎秦漢;理不詭於周孔,活字天J37nB384_p0243a27風,流音笑電,而濁世界中睹此靈葩,不翅石墜塵驚、J37nB384_p0243a28珠輝夜朗。咳玉粲花,似群仙之相笑;噴風曳練,類列J37nB384_p0243a29駿之雄奔。千巖爭秀、萬籟競鳴,信乎獅筋之琴一撫J37nB384_p0243a30則諸絃絕響;金烏之曜纔出則爝火頓除,斷非簇錦J37nB384_p0243b01攢花、充飾祖園者所可比儗也。余愧蹄涔,望彼海若,J37nB384_p0243b02然轟雷掣電,大雅雄篇,可咀囓而得之菜根齒頰間。

J37nB384_p0244b06竊嘗論之,招提之設,周秦未與也,自摩騰入漢,兆白J37nB384_p0244b07馬以開基;僧會來吳,載赤烏而表瑞。魏晉以降,上而J37nB384_p0244b08王都邦邑、下而鄉井閭閻,莫不精嚴紺宇崇祀,以妥J37nB384_p0244b09安西方大聖人之像焉!然後鴿苑蜂臺星分碁布,始J37nB384_p0244b10駸駸乎真丹君子之國,則不第林雕樾繪,盤斗拱以J37nB384_p0244b11連雲;寶蓋金幢,革鳥翬而飛漢,抑聖世運數之所至,J37nB384_p0244b12實生人福業之所召。故東林起而山神降力;寶梵拓J37nB384_p0244b13而許掾重來,良由象馭日輪,運慈心而援溺苦海;迦J37nB384_p0244b14音鹿苑,廣悲智以解縛迷途。化洽生靈,奚翅人天萬J37nB384_p0244b15億;光絢剎土,豈限世界三千?自是感應道交,非徵發J37nB384_p0244b16期會有不可思議者,詎無自而然哉?
廣教禪院去咸J37nB384_p0244b17陽東北,路一由旬,邑乘載秦始皇時望彝宮故址也。J37nB384_p0244b18山川清遠,土壤膏瘦。萬仞蓮峰,面終南而聳翠;千莊J37nB384_p0244b19錦樹,背涇湄以披紅。襟擴三川,挹義天之清露;帶縈J37nB384_p0244b20八水,澄幻海之昏波。信靈真之淵藪、關內之勝地也。J37nB384_p0244b21始刱於唐之則天,曰周隆寺;敕額於宋之元祐,曰顯J37nB384_p0244b22慶院。金,大定中,有普滿法師講經於此,敕賜今額。元,J37nB384_p0244b23至元初,禪僧廣璣重修大殿,中塑接引佛一軀,高丈J37nB384_p0244b24六尺,四壁畫八如來、文殊、維摩、觀音諸大士及天龍J37nB384_p0244b25八部金剛神,筆機生動,有唐人墨意,往來遊觀者繩J37nB384_p0244b26繩不絕,蓋當時名士筆也,故寺有三絕之稱。至正間,J37nB384_p0244b27高弟、惠崇相沿繼起,克紹洪規。明,嘉靖時,地震傾圮,J37nB384_p0244b28院主本琮脩葺後殿,塑二十四諸天像列左右焉;萬J37nB384_p0244b29曆間,又有僧湛珀鳩合眾緣,開拓廊廡,重光梵剎;至J37nB384_p0244b30崇禎末,大道凌遲,中原板蕩,燕雀無簷邊之宿,鴻鵠J37nB384_p0244c01多壟上之嗟!茂草欞標,何處訪賢于長者?荒榛塞道,J37nB384_p0244c02無復問𥿵缽偉人,桑海已來,傾頹若是!原夫物極則J37nB384_p0244c03反,天道周星。迨我J37nB384_p0244c04興朝世祖章皇帝金輪御宇,廣運佛心,四海晏安,百J37nB384_p0244c05廢思舉。適今J37nB384_p0244c06上嗣位之四年,歲在乙巳,有某某二比丘振錫來秦,J37nB384_p0244c07栖神此地。剖塵拾礫,載懷興緝之心;除穢剪蒿,矢發J37nB384_p0244c08僝脩之願。於是貲捐八社、鐸震十方,庀工鳩材,董建J37nB384_p0244c09祖師伽藍二殿及雲堂、香廚、方丈各三楹,裝塑韋馱、J37nB384_p0244c10監齋二大士像,旋請寶葴律師弘傳戒法。先是某銳J37nB384_p0244c11志苦行,站立釘關;某亦相次捨身,烏獲同任信爾!聲J37nB384_p0244c12傳谷應,萬姓傾心。又得其徒某等共相協力贊成其J37nB384_p0244c13事,復建東西禪堂各五楹,內塑觀音、地藏、龍王、龍女、J37nB384_p0244c14道明、達辯像六尊,皆金飾焉!緬唯勝緣難搆,非荷擔J37nB384_p0244c15如來大法者力不能支。甲寅春,住持某議同八社,削J37nB384_p0244c16牘迎余以尸席之。於時寮舍虛廠猶未整飾,無何陸J37nB384_p0244c17起龍蛇,中外搔動,余亦退居興福。丙辰秋,某過余而J37nB384_p0244c18言曰:「廣教鼎新,不憚觔疲骨瘁者,歷十有三載矣!今J37nB384_p0244c19始落成,將見殿閣凌空,昱金烏而煥彩;幡燈轉燄,皎J37nB384_p0244c20玉兔以澄輝。鐘鼓聞天外之聲,香雲遏林端之磬,事J37nB384_p0244c21頗斯寢,志願克諧,但非為兒孫謀安宅計,願諸善知J37nB384_p0244c22識弘道利生,共結般若之緣耳!前蒙開堂振響,遐邇J37nB384_p0244c23趨風,來學有歸,如水就下,靈山一會,儼然未散,炳千J37nB384_p0244c24古之慧燄、關萬世之祖基,是誠肇於師也。恐世遠難J37nB384_p0244c25名,匪言曷載?敢請為記,以劖之石,昭示後之繼斯席J37nB384_p0244c26者,庶得相沿媲美,俾勿隳裂,亦杜絕夫有力負壑者J37nB384_p0244c27之源,其為祖庭計不亦遠且悉乎?」余善其說,謂之曰:J37nB384_p0244c28「吾聞君子創業垂統為可繼也。屢見今之營建者,莫J37nB384_p0244c29不初假叢林之名,易求緣幹;成則定為恒產,貽諸子J37nB384_p0244c30孫;日久則分為房頭,習為應院。趨名奔利,互相魚▆,J37nB384_p0245a01而高宿禪衲尚不得過門一窺,欲望水雲義聚共相J37nB384_p0245a02安住,不亦難矣哉?嗟乎!是陷泥犁之坑塹、壞法之厲J37nB384_p0245a03階也,況有為非實,佛祖所訶,陵谷變遷,楊岐拒衲子J37nB384_p0245a04之請;人天有漏,梁主來達磨之譏。百丈以前無住持J37nB384_p0245a05事,凡今住持之高踞叢林非古也;百丈之後因時制J37nB384_p0245a06宜,方廣居而蓄眾,迺分職以司存。子欲倣百丈之典J37nB384_p0245a07型師表萬世,使創業有繼,婆心良苦,姑為子記之。其J37nB384_p0245a08號令人天,鞭龍笞象,又永賴夫後之據方丈之善知J37nB384_p0245a09識者。慚余固陋,寡學不文,秉筆汗顏,敘事難既。兜率J37nB384_p0245a10內院常白寂子之惟,布髮掩泥親受燃燈之記云爾!」
重修八關菩薩殿記
J37nB384_p0245a12大哉!吾佛之教也,其慈也溥、其惠也洽。醒巨夢於長J37nB384_p0245a13夜,舟沉溺於四生。開劫導迷,歸淨土於十念;設權致J37nB384_p0245a14變,闡尸羅於一朝。雖五教三乘,匯眾流於性海;十界J37nB384_p0245a15九地,總不出乎自心。萬善不同,同歸於致。所以法流J37nB384_p0245a16東震,派天下,郡城山林,廟貌崇敬靡不有之,況秦稱J37nB384_p0245a17天下雄籓第一,而寺宇猶林乎其盛也。八關堂在會J37nB384_p0245a18城之中,不知創自何時?年深代遠,風雨銷鑠,堂殿傾J37nB384_p0245a19頹,固處通衢,往來憧憧者亦低頭合掌,而布金之念J37nB384_p0245a20獨不能發。適三韓某居士者,相從督院來駐於秦,善J37nB384_p0245a21性天成,懿德是好,樂輸己資,發心修葺。經始於己未J37nB384_p0245a22仲夏之初;落成於孟冬中浣之望。數月之間,前後殿J37nB384_p0245a23堂金碧輝映,其中佛菩薩及十王諸聖像煥然聿新。J37nB384_p0245a24謀勒諸石以誌不朽,命斗垣董文學詣燉煌,請余言J37nB384_p0245a25以記之。余惟長安都會之地,慧業文人多矣!吾林下J37nB384_p0245a26人奚能言之?但八關齋戒,趨善之妙門;入道之捷徑J37nB384_p0245a27也,雖奉持者眾,而八關之堂罕有建者;八關齋戒尟J37nB384_p0245a28有明者。殊不知八戒是關,能閉八惡,不起諸過,故名J37nB384_p0245a29關也;齋者,齊也,謂齊斷諸惡,具修眾善,故名齋也。齋J37nB384_p0245a30者,過中不食為名;戒者,防非止惡為義。然必於月六J37nB384_p0245b01日、八王日者,何也?月六日,乃四天王下察人間善惡J37nB384_p0245b02故也;八王者,八節也,天地諸神陰陽交代,於是日持J37nB384_p0245b03齋奉戒則過除而福廣也。然八戒唯一日一夜持者,J37nB384_p0245b04蓋居家緣累,不能頓脫塵勞,故云一日一夜而為長J37nB384_p0245b05齋,使人人得而易行,日久則慧生相遣,由淺入深,明J37nB384_p0245b06正因以出生死;脫有漏以證菩提,此吾佛世尊大哀J37nB384_p0245b07曠濟,拯拔群生,曲垂善巧之方便耳!方今某善士修J37nB384_p0245b08崇八關之堂,匪但增其樂果,意在與人為善,大有補J37nB384_p0245b09於世教人心者,功德豈淺鮮哉?嗟乎!眾生之沉寐也J37nB384_p0245b10久矣!佛以關戒為木鐸,唯善士能克振而興起之,誠J37nB384_p0245b11苦海之津梁;火燄中之芙蕖也,遂為記之。冀法苑塵J37nB384_p0245b12清,扇真風於末運;靈臺霧淨,麗慧日於中天云爾。
供水陸緣起碑記
J37nB384_p0245b14山不在高,有仙則名,故宇內名山大川勝絕之地,莫J37nB384_p0245b15不皆假人而後傳。如崆峒之以廣成、富春之以嚴光、J37nB384_p0245b16隆中之以孔明、廬嶽之以遠公。地得人顯、人以道彰,J37nB384_p0245b17而人傑地靈,其間橫雄顯發,以各揚其道者又獨讓J37nB384_p0245b18吾沙門。鈞陽西南四十里有文殊寺,在昭代時為周J37nB384_p0245b19邸所建,自滄桑以來,堂殿丘墟鞠為茂草,數十年間J37nB384_p0245b20已為狐兔之窟宅矣!壬子春,吾法弟虎堂和尚來憩J37nB384_p0245b21於斯,日與衲子輩剪荊榛、闢蒿萊,並日而食、縛苑而J37nB384_p0245b22居,不一載遂成法席,而文殊寺名始彰彰焉於遠聞J37nB384_p0245b23也。和尚指南迷途,慈心普攝,四方尊仰,檀信填門,然J37nB384_p0245b24第一義諦不假言傳,其如白雪陽春調高和寡,雖佛J37nB384_p0245b25性種子人人本具,若未遇緣不能開發,欲發善芽須J37nB384_p0245b26緣福種。所以尊象教為闡法之因;崇佛事乃慶人之J37nB384_p0245b27要,於是集諸善信示以水陸因緣,但功果浩大,費用J37nB384_p0245b28不資為慮也。善信某跽前而白之曰:「和尚欲施大法J37nB384_p0245b29度我群迷,地雖偏隅,其好善樂施之心人皆有之,勿J37nB384_p0245b30慮繁難,願成勝事。」既而與諸從事者日著躊躕,經營J37nB384_p0245c01畫度,晝爾于茅、宵爾索綯,亟其乘屋,以安廣眾。間器J37nB384_p0245c02於埏埴、取粒於畎畝,盈儲克蓄以備支用,妙筭神出J37nB384_p0245c03意至皆成,期年之間諸事辦足。思壇儀聖像而又不J37nB384_p0245c04可得也,乃虔禱諸佛願垂哀降,遂詣首山,果一請而J37nB384_p0245c05諾,感應道交,誠心愈倍,嚴列鼓吹,導迎進山,依儀設J37nB384_p0245c06壇,豎旛懸像。將見金光晃耀,花雨繽紛,晨夕梵唄、鐘J37nB384_p0245c07鼓之聲達於空界,遠近來觀憧憧不絕。進香頂禮者,J37nB384_p0245c08日不減萬指,而和尚應機接物事事得宜,七日之內J37nB384_p0245c09上下貼然,信知靈山一會儼然未散,向之所謂狐兔J37nB384_p0245c10之宅,今見轉為極樂之邦矣!由是人心向化,信根純J37nB384_p0245c11熟,發心連供,如是者三載。始則慮事大之難成也,迫J37nB384_p0245c12於艱苦;終則欽眾善之信心也,卒成其功。易有之因,J37nB384_p0245c13三人同心,其利斷金,言非虛也。癸亥秋,虎堂和尚來J37nB384_p0245c14主金粟,屬余為記其事,將立石寺中以告後之來者。J37nB384_p0245c15裡有繩纘,余素不文,性樂與人為善。今此盛緣,真菩J37nB384_p0245c16提心,信所筆之以識其歲月云。
重修翠雲山佛殿碑記
J37nB384_p0245c18判氣初天,日月所以麗其耀;肇形始地,川嶽所以效J37nB384_p0245c19其靈。翠雲山者亦關內之勝概,雖群山峭拔而秀甲J37nB384_p0245c20終南,為南臺五峰之一。草木蓊薆,疊翠錦於層巒;石J37nB384_p0245c21澗鏗谹,發清響於幽谷。瀑布擬銀河倒瀉;雲幢將玉J37nB384_p0245c22樹排空。野鳥齊鳴,奏管絃於天界;山花競秀,噴蘭麝J37nB384_p0245c23於岩龕。誠復慕寂易從,世機難染,攀蘿暫憩,雲鶴見J37nB384_p0245c24留,固薄伽梵晏處覺場原前緣若薰修福地,奈何年J37nB384_p0245c25移代謝,殿久廢而址存;谷變陵遷,碑已沒而石斷,埋J37nB384_p0245c26不可考,知創何時?適順治丁酉,有楚僧某者率意尋J37nB384_p0245c27幽,棲身靈墺。敝衣弔影,侶猿鳥以偕居;露地草眠,參J37nB384_p0245c28蛇虎而為伍。七日不火食,一念正思惟,遠近翕然趨J37nB384_p0245c29風;樵牧歡從知善。僝修在志,莊嚴為誘善之門;起廢J37nB384_p0245c30從心,搆結乃度生之要。於是剪除榛莽畢力經營,先J37nB384_p0246a01修正殿三楹,中肖釋迦佛像,次脩前殿三楹、再塑韋J37nB384_p0246a02天護法,廚庫僧房竟獲完美,燈[木*魚]悉具金碧交輝。夕J37nB384_p0246a03梵晨鐘響荅山谷,雲棟雪脊鳥革翬飛,迥於煙霏空J37nB384_p0246a04翠之表,宛然竺土楞伽之峰,皆十方檀信樂施之所J37nB384_p0246a05成,亦釋子道行精修之所至。據終至始三十有年,今J37nB384_p0246a06始落成,謀垂不朽,因求余以為文,勒之貞石將示後J37nB384_p0246a07之主此山者,俾繩祖武勿荒先緒。余重楚僧之行願J37nB384_p0246a08非小,不得以有漏目之,故記。

J37nB384_p0246a10康熙十年,歲在辛亥,七月既望,余禪棲於風穴山中。J37nB384_p0246a11時葉望新秋,晴空氣爽,柏凝寒翠,一榻翛然晏如也。J37nB384_p0246a12是夜將半,巖壑俱寂,萬籟無聲,沆瀣初來,林木變白,J37nB384_p0246a13人都悉寢,余亦就桃而偃臥焉!目方微合,燈猶在檠J37nB384_p0246a14乍明乍晦,若覺若迷夢一山寺巍峨壯麗,金碧交輝,J37nB384_p0246a15疑天宮殿,人間有不可幾及者,僧徒約有四五百人,J37nB384_p0246a16余亦預其數焉!中有老宿深目玄準,鳶肩脩頭,呼余J37nB384_p0246a17而囑曰:「子當出矣!」余即辭行。適從余者六人,長五而J37nB384_p0246a18少一,步出山麓,前橫大江,瀰漫萬頃莫知其所濟也。J37nB384_p0246a19余顧謂從者曰:「若此奈何?」長默而少者曰:「此有鉅鐘J37nB384_p0246a20可乘而濟之。」余曰:「鐘,沉物也,焉可以濟乎?」少者曰:「但J37nB384_p0246a21乘之,勿慮不濟也。」余遂躡其耳、攀其鈕,鐘忽浮動,心J37nB384_p0246a22起恐怖,回視六僧俱無有也。波濤洶湧,巨浪拍天,而J37nB384_p0246a23鐘已浮於中流。於斯時也,上無攀仰、下絕己躬,取捨J37nB384_p0246a24情忘、心境雙絕,波浪息平,泯然自靜,得妙隨流,任其J37nB384_p0246a25鐘之所止而休焉!須臾抵岸,絕壁千尋,惟怙樹一株,J37nB384_p0246a26朽根半露。余盡力引之,根忽中斷,不知鐘所從脫而J37nB384_p0246a27身已到岸矣!乃取徑沿崖而上,村落廓如,道豎剎竿,J37nB384_p0246a28一人結旛以揚之,飄颻空中,望若游龍,欲就與語,忽J37nB384_p0246a29鄰單振響,猛然驚覺。余躍起披襟出戶視之,步於中J37nB384_p0246a30庭,但見月色如畫,滿地松陰,雲捲長空、水澄澗底,喟J37nB384_p0246b01然而歎曰:「是夢之奇也?然鐘可以浮乎?真耶?妄耶?是J37nB384_p0246b02心想之所至耶?」吾未嘗有想遠離顛倒,而夢境適來J37nB384_p0246b03將必有所策進者耶!蓋天地一夢區也;萬物一夢境J37nB384_p0246b04也;人生一夢會也。不知開眼是夢而更作夢中之夢,J37nB384_p0246b05是可為智者道而不可以痴者語也。默而識之,坐以J37nB384_p0246b06待旦。明日語諸禪友,友人曰:「異哉!予之夢也,預將有J37nB384_p0246b07以徵法燈之兆乎?」余曰:「何為其然也?」友人曰:「鐘者,大J37nB384_p0246b08器也;水者,智海也;枯樹者,歸根也;剎竿者,法幢也。子J37nB384_p0246b09將乘洪鐘之器,游華藏智海濟度群靈,歸根復命,豎J37nB384_p0246b10道場旛而弘揚法化也,故為子悅之。」余曰:「無其事也,J37nB384_p0246b11皆含藏識中積習之影子所現耳!況夢想不真,又何J37nB384_p0246b12有與於此哉?」友人曰:「此非渠所知也。曩閱《傳燈》,載石J37nB384_p0246b13頭希遷禪師夢與六祖同乘一龜游泳深池之內,覺J37nB384_p0246b14而念曰:『龜者,智也;深池者,性海也。吾與祖師同乘靈J37nB384_p0246b15智游性海矣!』今為青原之派,子之所夢與彼類相若,J37nB384_p0246b16或異日有徵,當信吾言之不食也。」明年春,余受風穴J37nB384_p0246b17老人付囑,友人特請濡墨以記之。余曰:「果夢之徵耶?J37nB384_p0246b18非夢之徵耶?果則是其記也;若非,又何記之有哉?人J37nB384_p0246b19不知夢猶覺也、覺猶夢也,但於夢處覺,故似覺而不J37nB384_p0246b20能覺也;若能於覺處夢,則雖夢而不惑夢矣!夢之虛J37nB384_p0246b21幻固不必論,然鐘之浮若有可紀者。」子請益堅,余不J37nB384_p0246b22能無言,姑筆其寱語曰「記夢浮鐘」。
遊賢山寺記
J37nB384_p0246b24崴屠維大荒落。冬十月,余有事於▆池,由北路而至J37nB384_p0246b25於扶風之龍渠寺,適善士杜姓者請齋。造其居,望北J37nB384_p0246b26山崖巒蒼翠,詢之土人,曰:「賢山寺也。以張橫渠讀書J37nB384_p0246b27得各會僧至,乃吾戒弟子。」雲居即寺之住持,請余登J37nB384_p0246b28山,遂步至谷口。兩峰突兀,對峙如門,削壁數仞,似入J37nB384_p0246b29太華深谷中,沿岩皆洞穴,土人曰:「此兵荒避亂之所J37nB384_p0246b30鑿也。」進有里許,棘茨滿谷,無路可通,摳衣躡磴而達J37nB384_p0246c01於山下,兩溪合流,中臺高數十丈,寺當其上,草間微J37nB384_p0246c02徑縈紆而上,至一坦坳,巖題羅漢洞。由洞口至東澗,J37nB384_p0246c03過澗有石幢,目之乃井也,深三百八十餘尺。轉入一J37nB384_p0246c04洞,行二三丈,豁然碧天開朗,有磚為門,入之轉西又J37nB384_p0246c05三四丈,通於殿庭。庭前古柏二株,其大數圍,鐵幹摩J37nB384_p0246c06空如虯龍狀,青蔥鬱密,風起作怒濤聲,蓋唐宋時物J37nB384_p0246c07也。佛殿嵬峨工慧巧麗,輪囷榱桷,今時斲工未必能J37nB384_p0246c08為也。中肖一佛端嚴相好,四壁畫佛菩薩皆變像,顏J37nB384_p0246c09貌作青黑綠藍色,云烏思國番僧畫也。前殿五楹,內J37nB384_p0246c10塑皆佛,廊廡廓如。左廊有像,額曰張夫子祠,張子即J37nB384_p0246c11橫渠先生也;右廊亦有像,即鑿井縣令楊公也。殿之J37nB384_p0246c12西北復有磚門,內肖四天王像,即寺之山門也。出洞J37nB384_p0246c13則懸岩數十丈,目之悚然,下有洞穴,寺僧曰田。洞口J37nB384_p0246c14而下,通於西澗,舊時往來之路也,邑乘載盤龍三洞J37nB384_p0246c15即此。余乃入穴,盤曲蜿蜒六七丈而出洞,行數武又J37nB384_p0246c16復入洞,如此者三而至西澗,斷岸斬絕不可渡。有橋J37nB384_p0246c17名曰天生橋,有閣覆之,年久傾頹,僧某欲易之以甓,J37nB384_p0246c18工未興而化去,磚石現存。兩山蒼翠,松柏交蔭,牧唱J37nB384_p0246c19樵歌,響荅山谷。還至於寺,滿壁多題詠,命侍者一一J37nB384_p0246c20讀之,唯西壁有字,如蒼龍枯木之形,塵坌闇然,以帚J37nB384_p0246c21拂去,乃古篆文,俯仰拂拭竟不能識,如岣嶁碑、石鼓J37nB384_p0246c22文,幾至搔盡髮垢乃辯得數字,文意炳然。順行而下J37nB384_p0246c23乃云:「關山隨地落、河漢近天流,高丘渾不暮,晝夜看J37nB384_p0246c24行舟。」不知何代何入書也?巡壁而至殿前,有一絕云:J37nB384_p0246c25「白雲呼我上高峰,路入青山萬樹松,到來喜脫塵緣J37nB384_p0246c26累,十年夢破一聲鐘。」二詩調高韻清,令人讀之有遺J37nB384_p0246c27世出塵之想,其餘不足觀也矣!庭豎豐碑,文意高古。
J37nB384_p0246c28中序:寺始於唐世,至大元至正時,有僧名賢齊者,年J37nB384_p0246c29二十,遊方至此,鑿洞以居,歷年九十,腳跡不至人間,J37nB384_p0246c30二虎常為守洞,鄉入德之故名賢山。是山以僧彰名,J37nB384_p0247a01非宋之橫渠讀書而名者明矣!明世廟時,寺已坦塌,J37nB384_p0247a02有信善楊澄者捨財而修葺之,碑乃重修時立也。碑J37nB384_p0247a03文總憲楊公瞻所撰;前殿簷間亦有石刊〈遊賢山寺J37nB384_p0247a04記〉,長安令楊公博所記,二楊皆河中人。
山記:石側門J37nB384_p0247a05至前廊,禮三大士像,獨立巖臺,俯眺河山。太白當其J37nB384_p0247a06前,嵯峨插天,層巒疊嶂,恍如匡廬之九疊屏;渭水繞J37nB384_p0247a07其足,凈如素練。平疇萬頃,村落連延,煙雲變幻如處J37nB384_p0247a08瀛渤中。天風洒然,心骨俱冷,大非人間世,真紅塵中J37nB384_p0247a09別一洞天、火宅內清涼世界,不可少也。遊覽未竟而J37nB384_p0247a10夕陽西墜,荒煙野霧,紫綠交炫,牛羊歸牧,而柴門欲J37nB384_p0247a11為之緊閉也。是夜宿山寺,古柏風號,連宵不息,野鶴J37nB384_p0247a12孤猿,聲清霄漢。達旦,由東澗北上而至寺後,一塔嵬J37nB384_p0247a13然,頂已頹落。讀碣,年紀至元,特諡普濟圓明賢齊和J37nB384_p0247a14尚之塔十二字。塔前有石幢,為苔蘚所蝕字不能讀,J37nB384_p0247a15惟東南一方字跡隱然,讀之乃《大阿彌陀經》,筆畫道J37nB384_p0247a16勁,字亦端楷,書人失其姓氏。望北則平蕪無既,村落J37nB384_p0247a17歷然,去縣僅十五里。寺後有深塹,明末時,鄉人避難J37nB384_p0247a18掘斷以為堡也。寺僧自鑿塹後日漸衰沒,于今止一J37nB384_p0247a19僧而已,余歎息久之。還寺復眺前山,龍昂虎踞,原屏J37nB384_p0247a20開嶂,分股如梧桐枝,寺當鉗口,甚與堪輿相合,故為J37nB384_p0247a21一方一大名剎。宋張子厚讀書於此而學達性天,今J37nB384_p0247a22王太史復讀書而聲蜚詞苑,豈非此山之靈氣所鍾J37nB384_p0247a23耶?惜乎掘斷來脈,嗚呼!是此山僧人之大不幸歟?亦J37nB384_p0247a24天地之不欲與人全歟?興衰治亂,理數必然。契經云:J37nB384_p0247a25「劫火洞然,大千俱壞。」昆明池灰,誰復問之?誰復知之?J37nB384_p0247a26午過,余下山而還龍渠,遂操管而樂為遊記。時同遊J37nB384_p0247a27者比丘常樂,年八十有五、知客賁如、侍者中也、秀珠J37nB384_p0247a28四子。

J37nB384_p0247b01《人天眼目》乃越山晦巖智昭所集也。昭以透古今眼,J37nB384_p0247b02澡肝膈於頂𩕳之初;具通變機,施膽力於威音之外。J37nB384_p0247b03採摭五宗綱要彙而成書,將祖師閫奧八字打開,格J37nB384_p0247b04外玄機盡情揭露,可謂挈領提綱,萬目千腋悉展舒J37nB384_p0247b05而了然矣!然而宮商促拍,雅操或亂乎鄭聲;爐鞴煆J37nB384_p0247b06烹,精金間淆於鈍鐵。向非是編,又何能辯魔揀異而J37nB384_p0247b07知學者師承之有無耶?凡據師位者不可不家有而J37nB384_p0247b08日見之也。雲松遠禪師,把茅秦隴,折鐺沸郿塢之雲;J37nB384_p0247b09拄杖山形,蒿湯雋無言之味。既佩宗印,慧澤復施,命J37nB384_p0247b10工重梓,願與天下有鼻孔衲僧,共炳摩尼之珠;互朗J37nB384_p0247b11秦臺之鏡,亦宗門一大快事也。余略為記,實不敢作J37nB384_p0247b12虛文以誕之,若有志夫宗門者珍重流通,是所望也。
重刻《天童直說》序
J37nB384_p0247b14鄒孟有言曰:「盡信書則不如無書。」至若左史記事、右J37nB384_p0247b15史記言,言以載道、事以考行,無事則不能見其行、無J37nB384_p0247b16言則不能顯其道,所以道借言顯、行逐事彰,故《春秋》J37nB384_p0247b17作而賊亂懼,壁觀來而義學摧。雖佛祖聖賢各出處J37nB384_p0247b18其道之不同,然窮奸斥妄、救世利生之心則一也。天J37nB384_p0247b19童密雲悟和尚以應真之聖,具大智慧,傳二十八祖J37nB384_p0247b20達磨之正宗,中興臨濟之道,踞天童山用本色鉗錘,J37nB384_p0247b21秪以一棒接人,如大火聚,近之則燎卻面門;如太阿J37nB384_p0247b22鋒,觸之則喪身失命。單提此乾嚗嚗這一著子,不獨J37nB384_p0247b23海內賢豪望風景從,若昭代之帝后妃主莫不降香J37nB384_p0247b24齎紫以致敬焉!遠及氈車蕃舶都來重譯問訊,奚翅J37nB384_p0247b25蹋殺天下人之馬駒?問世一出,誠如迦維黃面老子J37nB384_p0247b26之再世者也,凡宇內之據猊床、提祖印者皆出乎門J37nB384_p0247b27墻,逮今兒孫幾遍天下,其間或有胸臆挾懷,刱發難J37nB384_p0247b28端,師萬不得已向無言中立言、無說處通說,將靈山J37nB384_p0247b29拈花、迦葉微笑傳來佛法的的大意,不遺餘力和心J37nB384_p0247b30嘔出,若揭日月於中天;鼓雷霆於當代。或者謂:「天假J37nB384_p0247c01難端激揚真說。不然,何大啟玄扃向紫羅帳裏撒珍J37nB384_p0247c02珠之若是乎?」非直說無以睹佛祖妙凈圓明之正眼;J37nB384_p0247c03非關妄無以格知解穿鑿謬亂之是非。昔山陰朝式J37nB384_p0247c04王公者彙為一編,名之《直說》,大率為拯救末法鬥諍J37nB384_p0247c05邪妄之狂禪;存我說法之異見,徵便學者銷意中之J37nB384_p0247c06積滯、出眼內之金塵,化同異為大通。已爾,實啟禪關J37nB384_p0247c07之金錀、闢祖道之巨擘也。江南傳來已久,北地慨未J37nB384_p0247c08之見。己未夏,有雲松遠公把茅秦隴,道行超卓,為緇J37nB384_p0247c09素所推重,有古宿衲之風,一日過燉煌,詢知為天童J37nB384_p0247c10一脈兒孫,楚黃雙臺古春方兄之法胤也。出是編示J37nB384_p0247c11余,且云:「蘊有年矣!未遇賞音,將付剞劂,欲得序言以J37nB384_p0247c12廣其傳。」余歡喜踊躍,焚香稽首而告之曰:「此天童密J37nB384_p0247c13老和尚憂祖道墜滅,迫不得已將一生真履實踐所J37nB384_p0247c14得,從上佛祖之心髓,發而為此塗毒鼓聲也。千萬世J37nB384_p0247c15之下,尚有聞其聲而死者,亦公之幸也。既來堅請,不J37nB384_p0247c16敢固辭,愧智識淺陋,不能大祖之道、表公之行,冀讀J37nB384_p0247c17是編者另俱隻眼,勿存人我見、勿作爭競論,須得意J37nB384_p0247c18忘言直下薦取,如擘海金翅、擇乳鵝王,方能見天童J37nB384_p0247c19密老和尚為法為人徹底之一片老婆心也。不唯見J37nB384_p0247c20天童密老和尚為法為人徹底之一片老婆心,亦見J37nB384_p0247c21雲松遠公重梓流通,無非為法為人徹底之一片老J37nB384_p0247c22婆心也。」是序!

《佛祖正傳沿流頌古》序

J37nB384_p0248c17向上一路,千聖不傳,唯許沒量大人,不顧危亡單刀J37nB384_p0248c18直入,如雲長公之斬顏良,始有少分相應。虎堂和尚J37nB384_p0248c19與余同侍風穴先師,久經爐錘,深入閫奧。既佩心印,J37nB384_p0248c20遯跡岩阿,幽棲十載,果熟香飄,響風慕請,開法鮦陽。J37nB384_p0248c21於金粟禪林建大鼓旗,勘辨方來,不容情解,當門按J37nB384_p0248c22劍,一味生擒。可謂出浸鯨鯢,浪沒須彌之頂;神機鐵J37nB384_p0248c23牯,崢嶸宇宙之中。其後隨機請益,入室陞堂,遂有言J37nB384_p0248c24句錄在紙衣。門人編輯成書,欲壽梨棗來求序言,殊J37nB384_p0248c25不知從上先德入廛垂手,應機接物直是斬釘截鐵,J37nB384_p0248c26那更拖泥帶水而作世諦流布耶?雖有一言半句如J37nB384_p0248c27木札羹、鐵釘飯,亦恁時人咬嚼,忽然彈破牙齦,方知J37nB384_p0248c28餅是麵做;又如醫師治眼,但有除翳藥耳無與明藥J37nB384_p0248c29也,明若可與還應是翳。斯《錄》者,乃和尚之除翳藥也,J37nB384_p0248c30若欲求明,切莫向這冊子上尋討。
參約字序
J37nB384_p0249a02四姓出家,同歸釋氏,此安法師之論也。其後契經東J37nB384_p0249a03來,果相符合,遂為千古定式,然未有法派之說。法派J37nB384_p0249a04起於中古,僧初剃落,師依派以命名,令知木本水源,J37nB384_p0249a05有所從出者矣!及度而為僧,以入於三寶之數,因而J37nB384_p0249a06又為之字焉!字也者,以列於大僧故也。有荷法之任,J37nB384_p0249a07為人天之標幟、道德之淵藪,諸佛慧命賴以續也,故J37nB384_p0249a08人見而莫不起敬而尊仰之,故呼其字而不敢直斥J37nB384_p0249a09其名也。如《傳燈》所載,古之尊宿或以寺稱、或以地呼J37nB384_p0249a10者,何也?以道全德備,而超出乎世出世間,人皆欽仰,J37nB384_p0249a11不惟不敢名而且不敢字,故嘉其地以尊之,如百丈、J37nB384_p0249a12雲門、德山、臨濟諸祖之稱是也,故僧之可尊在道德J37nB384_p0249a13耳!豈字為之耶?雖然,字亦不可少也。海文禪人來請J37nB384_p0249a14字,余以參約字之,蓋取其名之義而與之也。參約數J37nB384_p0249a15年間,於廣眾中能檢束身心,克窮己躬下事,未見其J37nB384_p0249a16有惰志也。魯夫子曰:「以約失之者鮮矣!」倘力行日久,J37nB384_p0249a17後得為人所尊亦未可知也。子當不失其所以為尊J37nB384_p0249a18者歟!故為之序。
約縗服社序
J37nB384_p0249a20輔周張子,青門之逸士也。一口過余而言曰:「古先聖J37nB384_p0249a21王制禮作樂,設教化民,首重孝弟,推廣仁愛,立井田J37nB384_p0249a22以世成業,所以死徒無出鄉,鄉田同井,出入相友,守J37nB384_p0249a23望相助,疾病相扶持,則百姓親睦。自三代已降,淳風J37nB384_p0249a24下衰,禮制雖存,而行多不逮,況時與世異,民病窮苦,J37nB384_p0249a25親喪有制,而禮則憫然,不惟縗服無辦,且十餘年尚J37nB384_p0249a26不能窀穸者,良可悲也。若富族高門,廩有陳紅、室有J37nB384_p0249a27朽貫,不能割尺布斗粟以相調濟,而貧者急於求貸,J37nB384_p0249a28易為入山擒虎,難於開口告人,然惡惡可?余志欲訂J37nB384_p0249a29縗服之社,約諸同鄉各輸少財,積之歲月則涓滴石J37nB384_p0249a30穿、毛聚毬成,以備鄉閭親老孝帛之用,餘則鄰喪貧J37nB384_p0249b01無措者亦分贍之,庶利己利人兩獲其益,以免開口J37nB384_p0249b02告人之難,不亦可乎?欲假善言以為倡率,使同志者J37nB384_p0249b03見義勇為,知先王務本敦倫,藹然仁愛和厚之俗猶J37nB384_p0249b04有在也。」余曰:「善哉善哉!昔范文正公念族人多困於J37nB384_p0249b05饑寒喪嫁,乃建義莊,歲入租稅以分贍之;又子純仁J37nB384_p0249b06將麥五百斛過丹陽,見石曼卿三喪欲舉無力、二女J37nB384_p0249b07未嫁,并以麥、舟贈之。歸語其父,文公曰:『善!』吾聞魯夫J37nB384_p0249b08子有言:『博施於民而能濟眾,必也聖乎!』觀范公父子J37nB384_p0249b09濟難扶危,能體聖人之言、行聖人之事,宜乎!父子相J37nB384_p0249b10繼,顯達宦途,出入將相,為大宋一代名臣,而令聞昭J37nB384_p0249b11著、彪炳史冊者,庸詎知非行義好善樂施之明驗歟?J37nB384_p0249b12子之志與范公父子合,不獨為濟眾無窮之利,其亦J37nB384_p0249b13尚德可風。由一鄉以風一邑;由一邑以風一國;由一J37nB384_p0249b14國以風之天下,凡有同志當勉而力行之,故樂為之J37nB384_p0249b15序。」
續法派偈序
J37nB384_p0249b17四姓出家歸釋,符安師之論;五宗列派分支,溯智祖J37nB384_p0249b18之規。師初依派以命名,令知水源木本;徒後因偈以J37nB384_p0249b19續代,方識始祖雲仍。歷百世有可考之常經,而千古J37nB384_p0249b20無差舛之謬亂。雖僧形無異,然法派不同,有臨濟之J37nB384_p0249b21派、有曹洞之派,僧若失派,竟不知為誰氏之兒孫也?J37nB384_p0249b22所以僧有定派,如司馬世家、庶人族譜類皆然也。叢J37nB384_p0249b23茂禪人以關中名德為長安人士所皈,偶以法派問J37nB384_p0249b24偈於余。考之臨濟智超祖下第三世,即分支也。派偈J37nB384_p0249b25四句,句止四字,字共十六,緣瓜累瓞,綿綿不替。但偈J37nB384_p0249b26字將盡,慮後之子孫無以命名,特丐余以續之。余乃J37nB384_p0249b27於本偈之下續以三十二言,使後之來者知派盡而J37nB384_p0249b28求續者叢茂也;又當以叢茂為世祖,而昭永萬世,須J37nB384_p0249b29珍襲家藏,或刊之石以為本宗支圖之定派云。
余壬子春入關,時賣花聲眾,爭艷桃李,余貨松獨青,J37nB384_p0249c02而相顧者鮮矣!一日過涇陽,訪義真友人於嘉慶寺,J37nB384_p0249c03適遇稚恭張老先生,一見如舊識,已遂成莫逆,其交J37nB384_p0249c04有十四年所矣!先生以關內名家,早發上第,侍宸秘J37nB384_p0249c05閣,天葩燦爛,冠絕古今。既而抽簪歸里,銜杯樂聖,喜J37nB384_p0249c06與高衲輩遊,故有書問落在叢席。言簡而文、詞約而J37nB384_p0249c07達,無泛常語,字字皆從活水源頭大光明藏中流出,J37nB384_p0249c08不落時人套習;兼以書法精妙,雖米南宮、董玄宰亦J37nB384_p0249c09有所不逮也。世人獲一字一句重如甄叔迦寶,韞櫝J37nB384_p0249c10珍藏。侍僧集其與余往來書問彙而成帖,請序其首。J37nB384_p0249c11余曰:「先生以書畫名天下,海內競尚,其書札緒餘雖J37nB384_p0249c12一時揮灑,誠可矜式。子之是集,可謂拾瓊枝於玉苑;J37nB384_p0249c13嗅薝蔔於香林者也,當與琅函貝葉共垂不朽。子宜J37nB384_p0249c14以松青而見重,母效爭艷而可惜。」故序!
孝廉羅稚圭過山賦記詩序
J37nB384_p0249c16玉書羅長公稚圭孝廉公,吾蜀閬人也。金昆皆台鼎J37nB384_p0249c17器,隨父任汝墳,克勤藝業,能讀父書,不浪出入,州人J37nB384_p0249c18士咸德之。戊辰冬,余自關內來主風穴,忽款段山中,J37nB384_p0249c19訪余清話。旋署次,以風穴遊記并詩貽余,讀之,如鐘J37nB384_p0249c20聞午夜,俗耳頓清;似劍淬豐城,星河耀彩。蓋緣思超J37nB384_p0249c21而才俊、興遠而語雄,想其詞源倒峽,波爛千翻,雖李J37nB384_p0249c22青蓮、楊升庵之復出亦當瞠乎其後矣!異日掞藻天J37nB384_p0249c23庭,花磚視影,卑窺其一班,誠當世之大雅、斯文之巨J37nB384_p0249c24擘也,故序譾言以志之。

J37nB384_p0249c27師諱行喜,號雲峨,生益州資陽陳氏,蜀西望族也,世J37nB384_p0249c28居隆昌。母陳夫入夢感異僧乘巨象造門授以如意,J37nB384_p0249c29覺而誕師。幼即穎異,坐徹跏趺,為嬰兒戲皆歌詠梵J37nB384_p0249c30唄。七歲入童子學,授經知大意,讀《論語》至「朝聞道,夕J37nB384_p0250a01死可矣!」持本質於塾師曰:「所聞者何道?」塾師曰:「日用J37nB384_p0250a02常行即是。」師曰:「夕死可矣!人既死,道又在何處?」塾師J37nB384_p0250a03躊躕久之曰:「性命之理微,非爾所知。」師退而歎曰:「只J37nB384_p0250a04如此道無聞,縱讀盡世間之書有何益哉?」遂掩卷歸。J37nB384_p0250a05過溪,睹屍為魚鳥啄噉,忽動諸行無常之感,決志求J37nB384_p0250a06出家。父母難之,師絕食數日,許就淨居山啟尊宿披J37nB384_p0250a07剃,惟勤禮誦。忽夜坐自念:「天地間為甚麼有我?畢竟J37nB384_p0250a08我生從何來?」窮極古今莫測終始,駭然汗下。達旦,詣J37nB384_p0250a09鐘興庵白心玄和尚并述生緣。玄為開導獎勵,命號J37nB384_p0250a10雪峨,贈以偈曰:「白雲鎖雪一峰寒,極目寥寥天地寬,J37nB384_p0250a11象賀夤緣悲行普,夢回相笑太無端。」師禮謝歸,感奮J37nB384_p0250a12自誓,與二三同志結非,依博山警語做工夫,久之不J37nB384_p0250a13得力,念歲月飄忽仍立死限一年。苦於昏散,引錐痛J37nB384_p0250a14劄,晝夜鞭逼愈增迷悶,聞印心和尚近住於竹家庵J37nB384_p0250a15特往見之。心問:「甚麼處來?」師云:「凈居山。」心云:「父母未J37nB384_p0250a16生前在甚麼處?」師云:「某甲正疑此事,特來求慈悲指J37nB384_p0250a17示!」心云:「去!汝不會我語。」師方舉步,心喚師,師應諾,心J37nB384_p0250a18云:「應從何來?」師忽有省會。心過天封,師隨受具。後遊J37nB384_p0250a19峨嵋,遂詣萬峰參破山和尚,便問:「把住牢關,聖凡莫J37nB384_p0250a20測,放開一線,略許商量。去此二途,請師相見。」山云:「瞎!」J37nB384_p0250a21師云:「虛空無縫罅、法體絕形蹤,為甚麼大悲菩薩現J37nB384_p0250a22千手眼?」山云:「死水不藏龍。」師云:「如何是活水龍?」山拈J37nB384_p0250a23棒打出。未幾,山赴盤龍之請,師先往候,命師維那。
師J37nB384_p0250a24久慕天童法化之盛,遂裝包出蜀徑抵江南,聞密雲J37nB384_p0250a25老和尚化去,時費隱和尚住金粟,師往謁,便問:「千里J37nB384_p0250a26聞風則且止,覿面相逢意若何?」隱便打,師云:「劉郎不J37nB384_p0250a27會藏春色,漏泄枝頭多少香?」隱云:「不遇攀花乎,徒勞J37nB384_p0250a28造化心。」師便喝,隱復打,師遂挾袱入堂依炙座下。一J37nB384_p0250a29日,普請車水次,隱命各述頌,師頌云:「竭世樞機本自J37nB384_p0250a30然,輕輕拶著便週旋,就中有個超方作,倒瀉滄溟浪J37nB384_p0250b01潑天。」隱深器之,於是聲馳叢席。值解夏,隱上堂云:「諸J37nB384_p0250b02兄弟!從今解制後,或東去西去,忽然撞著猛虎當路J37nB384_p0250b03又作麼生?」眾擬議,隱下座,以拄杖一時打散,師頓見J37nB384_p0250b04隱用處。至晚辭行,隱固留,師呈偈曰:「獰龍隱顯迥誰J37nB384_p0250b05儔?氣宇昂藏出眾流,大抵不貪香餌味,翻身破浪五J37nB384_p0250b06湖遊。」竟去。見山翁和尚於天童,值入室舉洞山古鏡J37nB384_p0250b07話,問師曰:「你道是甚麼意旨?」師云:「未到天童知何處?J37nB384_p0250b08行來方見路高低。」翁云:「這漢拶著,便見瓦解冰消。」師J37nB384_p0250b09云:「明眼宗師,天然有在。」翁便打。未幾遊天台,時林野J37nB384_p0250b10和尚住通玄,師見便問:「杖頭挑撥,罕遇知音,狹路相J37nB384_p0250b11逢,如何即是?」林云:「雲霧鎖青山。」師云:「未到天台,不妨J37nB384_p0250b12疑著。」林曰:「持蠡酌海,妄測淺深。」師云:「不因樵子徑,爭J37nB384_p0250b13到葛洪家?」林云:「峰巒挺秀,鳥道難通。」師便喝,林便打,J37nB384_p0250b14於是服膺座下,師資水乳,親炙七年。一日,侍林山行,J37nB384_p0250b15林問云:「等閒拶著即轉轆轆地,我這裏總用不著,將J37nB384_p0250b16你從前所悟的據實說與老僧看!」師盡情呈白,林云:J37nB384_p0250b17「不是不是!」師云:「向來皆蒙印可,如今為甚又不是?」林J37nB384_p0250b18云:「此是識解依通,盡屬生死根本。」師殷勤請益,林云:J37nB384_p0250b19「且道山河大地、明暗色空,與汝自己是同是別?」師云:J37nB384_p0250b20「同則總同、別則總別。」林正色呵曰:「說得道理好。」師佇J37nB384_p0250b21思,林攔胸把住云:「除卻總別同異,速道速道!」師擬荅,J37nB384_p0250b22林驀向懸崖一推,當下胸中寶惜廓爾冰消,返觀從J37nB384_p0250b23前所得如大海之一滴耳!即充口說偈云:「罷罷罷!休J37nB384_p0250b24休休!橫眠倒臥在荒丘,翻身拶碎虛空骨,萬象森羅J37nB384_p0250b25笑點頭。」次日,呈上方丈,林接得,納於袖中,復伸手云:J37nB384_p0250b26「這個且止,將你悟的呈似老僧看。」師舉足云:「昨日無J37nB384_p0250b27端被害,這腳一夜痛不安。」林呵呵大笑,師哭:「蒼天蒼J37nB384_p0250b28天!」便出。午後,卻喚師將從上佛祖公案極淆訛處重J37nB384_p0250b29重勘驗,師一一剖決無礙,林云:「這回始信吾不汝欺J37nB384_p0250b30也。」
會林赴嘉禾棲真之請,命師理通玄院事。越明年,J37nB384_p0250c01師往省覲,林即出源流拂子付師,時順治己丑九月J37nB384_p0250c02十六日也。師遂禮辭,截江渡淮,在處以名剎敦請,前J37nB384_p0250c03後一十三至,師堅辭不就,乃上陽山訪慧門大師,慧J37nB384_p0250c04即與龐總戎會霍丘、固始兩邑紳士,請師住大別山J37nB384_p0250c05普濟禪寺,師卻之猶甚,慧大師曰:「觀師法緣已熟,當J37nB384_p0250c06乘時濟物,有祖已來難辭此責,豈可拘執而謙退乎?J37nB384_p0250c07師若從請,吾當佐揚法化。」師乃就請,始聞法焉!方解J37nB384_p0250c08制,河南光山紳衿削牘迎住普福,居無何,羅山道俗J37nB384_p0250c09復迎住龍池。憶白崖山水幽奇,過掃忠國師塔,晤學J37nB384_p0250c10憲禹峰彭公,師與本色相見,公不覺舞蹈生歡,留止J37nB384_p0250c11慶祥,朝夕諮扣深有契證,以為相見之晚。夏滿,復歸J37nB384_p0250c12龍池,未幾,復應湖廣隨州法興之請。
有司李凌公來J37nB384_p0250c13參,師問:「莫是十如居士否?」公曰:「是!」師即攔胸把住云:J37nB384_p0250c14「覿面相逢一句,速道速道!」公茫然,師拓開云:「不是不J37nB384_p0250c15是!」公曰:「太鹵莽生!」師云:「賺我來!賺我來!」茶次,復問:「嚮J37nB384_p0250c16聞居士留心個中?」公曰:「不曾。」師云:「幸值不曾,若曾,三J37nB384_p0250c17十棒一棒也少不得。」公曰:「且道棒頭有眼無眼?」師云:J37nB384_p0250c18「山僧今日不打你在。」公曰:「要且無下手處。」師云:「不知J37nB384_p0250c19痛癢漢!」公無語,師贈以〈偈〉曰:「谿山草際正凝霜,幸喜J37nB384_p0250c20文星到上方,相見不勞重話會,從前鼻孔自昂藏。」
明J37nB384_p0250c21年,復循汝州觀察捷武范公風穴之命。先是,范公遊J37nB384_p0250c22獵至山,見萬柏岑森之下有大蘭若,沿流而入,榛莽J37nB384_p0250c23塞道,虎跡駢填,顏曰風穴禪寺。詢諸鄉人,乃曰:「此後J37nB384_p0250c24唐時臨濟宗第四世延沼禪師祖庭也,桑海以來,僧J37nB384_p0250c25徒寥落,傾頹迨盡。」公悵然久之,剔苔剝蘚,讀殘碣於J37nB384_p0250c26草萊中,遂懷興緝之志。謀諸太守中寶林公,各捐俸J37nB384_p0250c27修理,復成寶坊,每念獲一善知識以主之。時汝州紳J37nB384_p0250c28士嚮師道風,遂白范公,以風穴延師焉!師至,念先德J37nB384_p0250c29故址五代及今七百餘年,宗社灰冷,奮然以弘法為J37nB384_p0250c30己任,遂大開爐鞴,痛下鉗鎚。四方有在於是者,聞其J37nB384_p0251a01風,擔簦負笈,翕然來歸,食堂滿幾千指,宗風大振,咸J37nB384_p0251a02謂濟北中興。
居五載,長安緇素迎師住大興善寺,師J37nB384_p0251a03翻然肯來。踰年,曳杖東歸,會鮦陽澺水宋中丞,慕摩J37nB384_p0251a04詰捨宅,以南塘別墅刱建金粟禪林,迎師住持。一時J37nB384_p0251a05龍象雲集,萬指參隨,戶無所容,有露處而聽法者。居J37nB384_p0251a06四載,會汝州太守射斗高公以風穴虛席,迎者再至,J37nB384_p0251a07遂命首座沖涵住持。復抵風穴,大新梵搆,開拓廊廡,J37nB384_p0251a08四年之間,危樓傑閣,照映林壑,而工適告竣。師慮學J37nB384_p0251a09者坡事繁難,有遠舉休隱之志,遂托故出山,拂衣長J37nB384_p0251a10往。杖過汝寧,值當道護法太守熊公、別駕劉公遣役J37nB384_p0251a11於上蔡候迎,強師入城,師不得已留止慧文禪院。一J37nB384_p0251a12時賢士大夫延集座下,𧫎扣無虛日,師慈意藹然。至J37nB384_p0251a13其機用妙密,澤壑夜移人所難覺,師則別垂方便,或J37nB384_p0251a14曉之以經史、或喻之以百氏之言,而肯綮遊刃、透關J37nB384_p0251a15擊節,如日蒞天臨,士大夫咸欽服焉!
居三載,忽示微J37nB384_p0251a16疾,適澺水宋中丞請師歸金粟,師即以書辭遠近檀J37nB384_p0251a17越、汝州、汝寧當道諸大護法,囑以後事。於中夜召沖J37nB384_p0251a18涵恒公及諸大眾,囑曰:「吾自蒞眾以來,二十七年之J37nB384_p0251a19間夙興夜寐,兢兢業業,唯道是念,不敢斯須少懈也。J37nB384_p0251a20時當像季,魔強法弱,汝等當以荷擔大法為心,勿徇J37nB384_p0251a21世緣,受人弔問則不可也。」時當環擁,哀請遺偈,師云:J37nB384_p0251a22「吾平常說的不是耶?」侍僧進紙筆,師援毫大書曰:「吾J37nB384_p0251a23年六十有四,出世因緣已畢,生死凡聖同源,大都眉J37nB384_p0251a24橫鼻直,歸去來兮歸去來,摩訶般若波羅密。」復震威J37nB384_p0251a25一喝,擲筆瞑目而逝。
師生平風度凝肅,凡近侍皆森J37nB384_p0251a26然機用,脫略鉗錘。妙密室中提策,直以本分接人,未J37nB384_p0251a27嘗假語言文字羅籠學者,故門庭孤峻,海內欽風,禪J37nB384_p0251a28學深得爐錘之力,多有脫穎而去者。嘗示眾云:「當陽J37nB384_p0251a29一路,智者猶迷,公案現成,漆桶不會。看個話頭取證,J37nB384_p0251a30猶如掘地覓天;打屏妄想發明,大似棄波求水。即真J37nB384_p0251b01即妄,而張網捕風;非異非如,而掉棒打月。直下即是J37nB384_p0251b02打折驢腰,撩起便行,必死之疾,且道如何得恰好去?」J37nB384_p0251b03良久云:「知音不在頻頻舉,達者須知暗裏驚。」又云:「參J37nB384_p0251b04禪徒妄想,打座屈身勞,性海微風作,覺浪拍天高。止J37nB384_p0251b05息重增病,縱之轉飄颻,須彌入芥子,瓦解與冰消。這J37nB384_p0251b06裏薦得且居門外,正宿草庵,若要陞堂入室未敢相J37nB384_p0251b07許在。何以?靈光不昧,萬古徽猷,入此門來,莫存知解。」J37nB384_p0251b08又云:「道在尋常休自瞞,當陽拈出與君看,冬風驀面J37nB384_p0251b09吹來急,無位真人徹骨寒。」又云:「碧天明月照蘆花,雁J37nB384_p0251b10叫霜寒境界賒,多少江湖方外客,幾人就路得還家?J37nB384_p0251b11逢緣理會,即境明心,撒手歸來,了無別事。所以永嘉J37nB384_p0251b12云:『遊江海、涉山川,尋師訪道為參禪,自從認得曹谿J37nB384_p0251b13路,了知生死不相干。』曹谿路且置,只如生死作麼生J37nB384_p0251b14了?水流元在海,月落不離天。」觀察[山*惠]嶪張公問:「若論J37nB384_p0251b15個中事本自現成,到這裏為甚麼不知?」師曰:「居士貴J37nB384_p0251b16姓?」公曰:「賤姓張。」師曰:「居士元來卻知。」公快然首肯。又J37nB384_p0251b17侍御李公愚、太史張松谷同訪,師坐喜公池畔,李公J37nB384_p0251b18曰:「學生為此事不明,特來參叩,請師垂誨!」師舉手中J37nB384_p0251b19如意曰:「會麼?」李公曰:「不會。」師曰:「覿面相呈,為甚麼不J37nB384_p0251b20會?」李公曰:「然隱微之妙理,未足以聲色形容也。」師曰:J37nB384_p0251b21「居士略違貴教之旨。」李公曰:「何謂也?」師曰:「不見道:『潛J37nB384_p0251b22雖伏矣,亦孔之昭乎?』」李公曰:「如何即是?」張公曰:「據我J37nB384_p0251b23所見,無處不是。」師曰:「是個甚麼?」張顧李而笑,師曰:「眼J37nB384_p0251b24眼相覷,此事竟不致於隱諱矣!」李公曰:「如何下手?」師J37nB384_p0251b25即與二公長揖而別。
師自順治庚寅開法至終師之J37nB384_p0251b26世,十坐道場,開堂九剎,陞堂入室,未常懈倦,門人集J37nB384_p0251b27語錄若干卷。師生明萬曆癸丑,示寂於康熙丙辰四J37nB384_p0251b28月十三。停龕七日,顏貌不改如生,傾城道俗瞻集如J37nB384_p0251b29市。門弟子欲迎龕歸風穴,以宋中丞哀懇奉師全身,J37nB384_p0251b30師有遺命,故塔葬於金粟禪林之左。

J37nB384_p0251c03師諱永吉,字常安,破壁其號也,蜀之綿竹人。父吳姓、J37nB384_p0251c04母陳氏,四十無嗣,虔禱於鎣華山,夢龐眉僧寄宿,覺J37nB384_p0251c05而有娠。既誕,白光燭室,鄰人驚異,甫離襁褓,好以佛J37nB384_p0251c06事為兒戲。喜跏趺,終日不言,儼若有思。幼常多疾,父J37nB384_p0251c07母憂之,以夙因故,遂依祥符寺續燈傳尊宿出家。時J37nB384_p0251c08十三歲,傳授以〈大悲無礙陀羅尼咒〉,一脫口即成誦,J37nB384_p0251c09如舊識者。及年十七,一切經書文字不由師授自然J37nB384_p0251c10能通。常好靜坐,一日,有僧自峨嵋來,與師曰:「子若向J37nB384_p0251c11南方參詢大善知識,後必悟入如來知見。」師心切嚮J37nB384_p0251c12慕,即腰包出蜀直抵金陵,遍歷講肆,遊心藏海,凡性J37nB384_p0251c13相二宗微言奧旨莫不深究。因閱《楞嚴》至「見見之時,J37nB384_p0251c14見非是見,見由離見,見不能及。」翻覆疑難,不解其義,J37nB384_p0251c15乃質於講師曰:「既見不能及,畢竟作麼生通義?」講師J37nB384_p0251c16雖為剖析其理,然師疑不決,又素聞天童法化之盛,J37nB384_p0251c17遂結伴過錢塘見密雲悟和尚於太白山中。纔跨門J37nB384_p0251c18便問:「見見之時,見非是見,見由離見,見不能及。畢竟J37nB384_p0251c19作麼生?」悟便打。師再理前問,悟直打出方丈。師迷悶J37nB384_p0251c20不已,異日再請益,悟復打。師不契其機,退而泣曰:「我J37nB384_p0251c21只任與般若無緣。」明日,告假出山,回至嘉禾,聞漁人J37nB384_p0251c22撒網聲忽然有省,與同行曰:「我當時錯過老和尚得J37nB384_p0251c23與麼老婆心。」欲返天童,同行挽之,約歸金陵,受具於J37nB384_p0251c24圓覺庵。圓覺見師天資超異,命檢藏經,乃囑師曰:「宗J37nB384_p0251c25門鼎盛,卓犖有人,律學浸微,子其荷之。」師念菩提種J37nB384_p0251c26智,戒為培根,慧因定發,戒為基本,乃矢志學毘尼法,J37nB384_p0251c27於十誦、大小乘律究觀秘義,修明要奧二十餘載,後J37nB384_p0251c28以江淮多故不遑寧處,遂杖錫西征,於是趨少室、遊J37nB384_p0251c29五臺,徘徊終南,棧人連雲。將詣峨嵋,值蜀難未平,不J37nB384_p0251c30果其志,遂由河池至徽州。州人見師律儀端靜,受持J37nB384_p0252a01勤至,莫不望塵瞻禮,欲以祖師山棲師焉!師堅辭不J37nB384_p0252a02就,四眾哀懇,乃留過冬。明年春,訪仇池,登鹿玉山,一J37nB384_p0252a03徑如線,高盤八雲,長松插天,飛瀑垂練,遠絕人境,堪J37nB384_p0252a04可掛錫。先是,本山耆宿夢披香色伽黎僧錫杖凈缾J37nB384_p0252a05坐於東巖之下,有韋天侍側;次日,師至山,竟趨東巖J37nB384_p0252a06宴坐,僧至,見與所夢者不異,即請就普賢寺弘闡毘J37nB384_p0252a07尼,度無量眾。未及二載,武都太守于公道行、副戒褚J37nB384_p0252a08公雲龍慕師道風,同紳衿緇素合壁聯詞,請師住白J37nB384_p0252a09琬山觀音寺。其寺創於唐之開元,古名剎也,年深代J37nB384_p0252a10遠,鐘鼓寂寥,人煙迥絕,竟為豺虎蛇虺之場。師至,見J37nB384_p0252a11山水奇秀,遂有終焉之志。乃就地誅茅,縛樹為屋,旬J37nB384_p0252a12曰之間,歸者如市,未及三載,殿宇廊廡輪奐斬新,金J37nB384_p0252a13碧交光,照耀林壑,四方來求受戒,擔缾負錫者響振J37nB384_p0252a14山谷,鱗萃蟻聚,居無所容。牧豎田畯莫不悛心欽向,J37nB384_p0252a15儼若波離再世、瞿曇一出也。師本無宿疾,經營修理,J37nB384_p0252a16精神少疲,領眾如常。一日,忽示微疾,命集眾陞座,囑J37nB384_p0252a17曰:「去聖時遙,人多懈怠,輕律棄經,少奉持者。汝等當J37nB384_p0252a18各努力,謹奉戒律,報佛恩德,勿貪利養、勿飾繁華,節J37nB384_p0252a19儉恭勤,是佛子住。」囑畢乃起,沐浴更衣趺坐,奄然而J37nB384_p0252a20逝。
師生於明萬曆己丑,遷化於清順治十八年辛丑J37nB384_p0252a21十一月十五日,世壽七十有三,僧臘三十四夏。登毘J37nB384_p0252a22尼壇,說法利生一十四年,得戒弟子若干人、剃度小J37nB384_p0252a23師若干人、皈依在家二眾若干人。闍維日,遠近緇素J37nB384_p0252a24咸來觀送,駢填山谷,火竟不爇。門弟子跪祝曰:「師其J37nB384_p0252a25有靈,火當自焚。」祝畢,龕內如轟雷者三吼,而火燄哭J37nB384_p0252a26出數丈,煙光五色。人無智愚,仰觀悲戀,獲舍利無數。J37nB384_p0252a27門人收靈骨,建塔於本山之麓。師長身闊面,聲清氣J37nB384_p0252a28雄,為人風度夷簡,不為緣飾。冬夏一衲、日中一食,長J37nB384_p0252a29坐不臥者四十年,隨身衣缽之外更無長物。待人恭J37nB384_p0252a30恕而立已甚嚴;應世圓轉而蒞眾凝肅。所以為士大J37nB384_p0252b01夫所准重,聲播遐邇,宜其然也。嗚呼!乾小子依師得J37nB384_p0252b02戒,參詢江浙二十餘載,雖於道有聞,皆師開發蒙昧,J37nB384_p0252b03秀掖獎勸之力也。慮師之行業,恐年久湮沒,故錄其J37nB384_p0252b04乎日所聞於師者葺為論次,以備他時修塔銘者之J37nB384_p0252b05考鏡,更冀有以傳師於不朽云。年月日。如乾謹狀。
