草堂耨雲實禪師語錄序
J37nB370_p0001a02太極既立,兆分天地之後,乃有娑婆世界,山川人物,J37nB370_p0001a03六道四生,種種畢具。上古之時,人皆真樸,不啻與佛J37nB370_p0001a04祖一數。殆至三代以後,各務虛偽,而迷失真性。由有J37nB370_p0001a05達磨大師出世,觀吾土機熟,特泛重溟而至,啟示來J37nB370_p0001a06學,專以明心見性,切實為宗,掃除文飾虛偽之習,及J37nB370_p0001a07去六根六塵之染。所以神光二祖,不懼立雪斷臂,以J37nB370_p0001a08求安心;廣南盧師,弗憚藏身獵戶,以任正法。此皆示J37nB370_p0001a09凡入聖,輔立西來之旨,以救後世之沉溺於文字窠J37nB370_p0001a10臼者也。明季神、熹二廟間,有密雲悟和尚,傳臨濟正J37nB370_p0001a11宗,開法於金粟、天童兩大剎,一時人天推重,龍象盈J37nB370_p0001a12筵。得破山禪師為入室真子,親傳其法,行道於滇、黔J37nB370_p0001a13之地,於干戈擾攘中,不獨主持佛法,且能拯濟難民,J37nB370_p0001a14其為德也大矣。座下傳及丈雪禪師,而師之下又傳J37nB370_p0001a15於耨雲和尚,師師授受,殊得獅王真種,一鳴一吼,使J37nB370_p0001a16百獸腦裂也。解讀此錄者,自必言前薦取,句下知歸,J37nB370_p0001a17豈待痛棒熱喝,而後知耨雲和尚之婆心也哉!

J37nB370_p0001a22禪宗至今乃大彰之日,亦大晦之日。五燈流傳,燈燈J37nB370_p0001a23相續,並無闕燄,豈非大彰?殘涎剩汁,展轉口頭,依稀J37nB370_p0001a24彷彿,囫圇摸稜,是長老著優孟衣;掇文拾藻,編詞潤J37nB370_p0001a25句,竊取詩章,粧點眼目,是衲子帶書生氣,豈非大晦?J37nB370_p0001a26若是出格丈夫,頂天立地,赤條條、淨裸裸,吐出自己J37nB370_p0001a27家珍,說些乾暴暴禪,不落前人圈繢,縱橫在我,殺活J37nB370_p0001a28自由,方免教壞人家男女。所以妙喜云:「不須呈伎倆,J37nB370_p0001a29直須啐地折、嚗地斷,方敵得生死。若只呈伎倆,有甚J37nB370_p0001a30了期?」我草堂法兄耨雲和尚,受昭覺老人鉗鎚,毒氣J37nB370_p0001b01鑽心,亦是天童、雙桂、惡水層次下潤。繼老人主草堂J37nB370_p0001b02二十餘年,不取名聞利養,腳跟蚤得點地,而人自宗J37nB370_p0001b03仰之。其上堂法語,俱是乾暴暴吐自己家珍,不著優J37nB370_p0001b04孟衣、不帶書生氣,諸方明眼人自是識得,何須徹中J37nB370_p0001b05饒舌?昭覺老人常云:「此間無隔夜禪與人參。」請看J37nB370_p0001b06耨和尚語錄,曾有隔夜禪否?到此地位,是彰?是晦?亦J37nB370_p0001b07任天下人卜度。

J37nB370_p0001c04三門。云:「者個所在,人人向此出入,大都忽略過了。山J37nB370_p0001c05僧今日到來,也須驗過。」以拄杖卓一卓,便進。
J37nB370_p0001c06古佛殿。「袒胸露臂,嗐著模樣。布袋牢拴,抵死不放。咦!J37nB370_p0001c07饒伊笑到當來,管取合口不上。」
J37nB370_p0001c08韋馱殿。「手持金剛杵,威風孰敢當?靈山親囑付,佛海J37nB370_p0001c09作金湯。咄!秖如填溝塞壑,公從何處護起?」良久,云:「開J37nB370_p0001c10眼也著,合眼也著。」
J37nB370_p0001c11佛殿。「喚者個是佛,山僧罪過;不喚是佛,俗眼難瞞。且J37nB370_p0001c12道畢竟喚作什麼?」卓拄杖云:「祥麟只有一隻角。」便拜。J37nB370_p0001c13方丈。橫案拄杖云:「據此室,行此令,新長老則不然。」復J37nB370_p0001c14豎拄杖云:「放開一線。」
J37nB370_p0001c15印善涂居士等供法衣,請上堂。詣法座云:「華王寶座,J37nB370_p0001c16覿面堂堂,山僧到此,要登便登,不更作禮,須彌燈王。」J37nB370_p0001c17據座,拈香云:「此瓣香超凡越聖,輝古騰今,爇向爐中,J37nB370_p0001c18端為祝延今上J37nB370_p0001c19皇帝聖躬萬歲萬萬歲。」又拈云:「此瓣香光明赫奕,枝葉J37nB370_p0001c20繁蔭,奉為滿朝文武、闔國公卿,伏願不忘靈山囑托,J37nB370_p0001c21永作法海金湯。」再拈云:「此瓣香刀劈不破,斧斬不開,J37nB370_p0001c22行腳時驀地撞著個無面目老漢,將我珍藏滯貨被J37nB370_p0001c23他拶碎,未敢輕示於人,今日事不獲已,對眾說破,專J37nB370_p0001c24申供養現住城都府昭覺堂上傳臨濟正宗三十二J37nB370_p0001c25世本師丈雪醉老和尚,用酬法乳。」斂衣就座。白槌竟,J37nB370_p0001c26師云:「山僧未出方丈已前,一味平實商量;而今出也,J37nB370_p0001c27釋迦、彌勒且住一邊,莫有當爐不避者麼?」問:「文殊白J37nB370_p0001c28椎,世尊下座,意旨如何?」師便打,進云:「威音那畔的消J37nB370_p0001c29息,薦得今時落二三。」師亦打,僧禮拜,師復打。問:「向上J37nB370_p0001c30底事即不問,披衣據座事如何?」師云:「一絲纔挂體,千J37nB370_p0002a01古意分明。」進云:「與迦葉傳金襴,是同?是別?」師云:「兩彩J37nB370_p0002a02一賽。」進云:「結角螺紋一句作麼生道?」師云:「長短恰好。」J37nB370_p0002a03乃云:「座已陞了,話已答了,若更起模畫樣,著甚來由?J37nB370_p0002a04雖然,不得辜負請主拈,則古人機緣應個時節。」舉:「唐J37nB370_p0002a05太宗一日擎起衣,問丞相王隨曰:『既是大庾嶺頭提J37nB370_p0002a06不起,因甚在寡人手裏?』隨無對。」師云:「王隨大似忘卻J37nB370_p0002a07了,怎柰無人證明?草堂當時預數,便與托來云:『謝至J37nB370_p0002a08尊布施。』不惟佛法有準,且要流布將來。何故聻?龍得J37nB370_p0002a09水時添意氣,虎逢山勢長威獰。」
J37nB370_p0002a10晚參。「明期進戒有五件事,今夜與眾兄弟議定。第一J37nB370_p0002a11件,早起穿衣不得挂體,挂體者犯輕垢罪。第二,下單J37nB370_p0002a12時兩腳不得踏地,踏地者犯輕垢罪。第三,洗臉不得J37nB370_p0002a13打濕面孔,打濕者犯輕垢罪。第四,喫粥不得嚙著米,J37nB370_p0002a14嚙著米者犯輕垢罪。第五,不得向鼻孔裏出氣,若向J37nB370_p0002a15鼻孔裏出氣者犯輕垢罪。依得此五件事,方堪得戒。J37nB370_p0002a16不然,覿面若無青白眼,還如𮭗𮭗守空池。」
J37nB370_p0002a17天章高鎮臺請上堂。舉:「仰山參中邑洪恩禪師,問云:J37nB370_p0002a18『如何得見佛性義?』恩云:『我與汝說個譬喻。如一室有J37nB370_p0002a19六窗,內有一獼猴,外有獼猴從東喚:「惺惺。」惺即應。如J37nB370_p0002a20是六窗俱喚,六窗俱應。』仰山禮謝,起云:『適蒙和尚譬J37nB370_p0002a21喻,無不了了。秪如內獼猴睡著,外獼猴欲與相見,又J37nB370_p0002a22且如何?』恩下禪床,執仰山手作舞云:『惺惺與汝相見J37nB370_p0002a23了。譬如蟭螟蟲在蚊子眉捷上作窠,向十字街頭叫J37nB370_p0002a24云:土曠人稀,相逢者少。』」師云:檢「點將來。仰山若無後J37nB370_p0002a25語,獼猴幾乎失卻鼻孔。所以道:『欲知佛性義,當觀時J37nB370_p0002a26節因緣。時節若至,其理自彰。』大眾!且道是甚麼時節?」J37nB370_p0002a27良久,顧視左右,屈指云:「子丑寅卯辰巳午,甲乙丙丁J37nB370_p0002a28莫莽鹵。」
J37nB370_p0002a29晚參。「正好喫杯茶,無端信口哇,惹得燈籠笑,落個沒J37nB370_p0002a30傝𠎷。更有沒傝𠎷,隔墻王老媽,兩口諍餓氣,打得亂J37nB370_p0002b01如麻。」
J37nB370_p0002b02上堂。「德山棒,臨濟喝,石鞏張弓,道吾舞笏。雪峰毬,普J37nB370_p0002b03化鐸,驚起楊岐三腳驢,踏倒三山併五嶽。阿呵呵,好J37nB370_p0002b04大哥,也好現前驀面唾。」
J37nB370_p0002b05結制,上堂。拈香祝J37nB370_p0002b06聖畢,復拈云:「此瓣香,我昔親遭毒手,至今痛恨難忘,J37nB370_p0002b07然雖不因樵子徑,怎到葛洪家?此是第二回,爇向爐J37nB370_p0002b08中供養本師丈雪大和尚,用酬法乳。」斂衣白椎竟,乃J37nB370_p0002b09云:「草堂今日開爐,當陽一句全提,突出烏藤光燦,煉J37nB370_p0002b10得衲僧膽瀝,燒著露柱燈籠,痛煞石頭瓦礫。所以道:J37nB370_p0002b11『般若如大火聚,觸之則燎卻面門,無你迴避處;又如J37nB370_p0002b12清涼池,四面皆可入。』」驀拈拄杖,云:「木上座聊為放一J37nB370_p0002b13線道。」卓一卓,云:「摘楊花,摘楊花。」
J37nB370_p0002b14小參。舉:「密雲悟上堂云:『莫立程途別用功,行住坐臥J37nB370_p0002b15看何從,忽然看徹無從底,請續後句。』」師云:「草堂亦有J37nB370_p0002b16一頌布施諸人:老倒年來志不孤,頻將三句驗禪徒,J37nB370_p0002b17雖然看徹無從底,也是小巫參大巫。」
J37nB370_p0002b18上堂。「曹溪嫡派,今古流長。腳下兒孫,迥然超出。一花J37nB370_p0002b19開放,五葉芳敷。綿綿瓜瓞,當處圓成。茲辰我生程公J37nB370_p0002b20攜男祖善來山設齋寄名,且承歡一句作麼生道?麒J37nB370_p0002b21麟天岸眠霄漢,金鳳乘雲下彩樓。」
J37nB370_p0002b22晚參。「橫說、豎說,塵說、剎說,恰似渴鹿趁陽燄。何故?多J37nB370_p0002b23說不如少說,少說不如不說。」乃以手掩口作鵓鳩鳴,J37nB370_p0002b24便出。
J37nB370_p0002b25上堂。舉:「僧問同安:『如何是和尚家風?』安云:『金雞抱子J37nB370_p0002b26歸霄漢,玉兔懷胎向紫微。』僧云:『忽有客來,將何祇待?』J37nB370_p0002b27安云:『金果早朝猿摘去,玉華晚後鳳銜來。』」師云:「此老J37nB370_p0002b28聞名富貴,見面貧窮。且草堂家風又在甚麼處?試檢J37nB370_p0002b29點看。若檢點得出,與你明窗下安排;其或未委,百丈J37nB370_p0002b30已前巖穴士,生涯盡在钁頭邊。」
J37nB370_p0002c01小參:舉:「東印土國王請般若多羅尊者齋次,曰:『諸僧J37nB370_p0002c02皆轉經,惟師為甚不轉?』者曰:『貧道出息不涉眾緣,入J37nB370_p0002c03息不居陰界,常轉如是經百千萬億卷。』」師云:「尊者與J37nB370_p0002c04麼答話,大似剜肉補瘡,未免傷筋動骨。即今有問:『諸J37nB370_p0002c05僧皆轉經,長老何不轉?』向他道:『天共白雲曉,水和明J37nB370_p0002c06月流。』」
J37nB370_p0002c07解制,上堂。「今朝正月十五,行者搥鐘擂鼓,分咐山門J37nB370_p0002c08大啟,放出玄沙猛虎,踞地爪牙斑斑,觸發氣吞佛祖。」J37nB370_p0002c09遂震威喝一喝,云:「貓兒偏解捉老鼠。」
J37nB370_p0002c10晚參。豎拳,云:「青州梨,鄭州棗,一任諸人齟嚼咬。」伸手,J37nB370_p0002c11云:「還我核來。」
J37nB370_p0002c12新正,上堂。「年年是好年,月月是好月,日日是好日,時J37nB370_p0002c13時是好時,盡大地是國王水土,無一日不報J37nB370_p0002c14國王恩;統十方是古佛道場,無一道場不為佛事。」呈J37nB370_p0002c15拄杖,云:「還會麼?皇風成一片,何處不封疆?」
J37nB370_p0002c16晚參。「古有僧夜半大叫云:『我悟也。』傍僧把住云:『你悟J37nB370_p0002c17個甚麼?』其僧云:『師姑原是女人做。』」師喝云:「如此不知J37nB370_p0002c18連累多少好人。草堂常有個悟底,只是不肯大驚小,J37nB370_p0002c19惟且悟個甚麼?眉毛眼上橫,鼻子下頭大。」
J37nB370_p0002c20結制,上堂。舉:「興化道:『我逢人則不出,出則便為人。』三J37nB370_p0002c21聖道:『我逢人則出,出則不為人。』」師云:「二大老一等共J37nB370_p0002c22行山上路,眼底各自看風煙,雖然互相激揚,也是泥J37nB370_p0002c23裏洗土塊。山僧今日出也,且為人是?不為人是?相逢J37nB370_p0002c24但說三分話,未肯全拋一片心。」
J37nB370_p0002c25晚參。舉:「僧問趙州:『如何是不錯路?』州云:『識心見性是J37nB370_p0002c26不錯路。』」師云:「那裏是識底心?那裏是見底性?試道看。J37nB370_p0002c27不然,也是闊角水牛。」
J37nB370_p0002c28上堂。舉:「六祖大師云:『不思善,不思惡,阿那箇是明上J37nB370_p0002c29座本來面目?』明即悟入。破山明頌云:『善耶?惡耶?之乎J37nB370_p0002c30也者。本來面目,風吹雨灑。咄!』」師云:「一人恁麼道,一人J37nB370_p0003a01恁麼提,未審喚甚麼作本來面目?」豎拂子,云:「莫是者J37nB370_p0003a02個麼?料掉沒交涉。莫是東頭賣賤、西頭賣貴麼?料掉J37nB370_p0003a03沒交涉。莫是鐘樓上念讚、床角下栽菜麼?料掉沒交J37nB370_p0003a04涉。莫是青州梨、鄭州棗麼?料掉沒交涉。莫是德山棒、J37nB370_p0003a05臨濟喝麼?料掉沒交涉。既沒交涉,畢竟如何是本來J37nB370_p0003a06面目聻?」揮拂子,云:「打麵還他州土麥,唱歌須是帝卿J37nB370_p0003a07人。」
J37nB370_p0003a08晚參。舉:「破山明上堂云:『突出難難難辨別,擬之易易J37nB370_p0003a09易承當,一聲㘞地盡生死,請續後句。』」師徵云:「突出難J37nB370_p0003a10難難辨別,可知禮也;擬之易易易承當,驢年方許;一J37nB370_p0003a11聲㘞地盡生死,腳跟下好與三十棒。」
J37nB370_p0003a12上堂。問:「東西無滯礙,南北任縱橫時如何?」師云:「亂走J37nB370_p0003a13作麼?」進云:「青山潑黛,綠水澄藍。」師直打下。乃云:「今日J37nB370_p0003a14上堂無禮,棒頭驀下如雨,捉敗金烏玉兔,駭殺奴兒J37nB370_p0003a15婢子。孟八郎漢不解當人一著,便道:『佛法如此。』」卓拄J37nB370_p0003a16杖,云:「也是無風浪起。」舉:「興化道:『我向南方行腳一遭,J37nB370_p0003a17拄杖頭不曾撥著一個會佛法底人。』」師云:「興化只圖J37nB370_p0003a18賣俏,不覺失卻一隻眼。山僧也向南方走了一遭,拄J37nB370_p0003a19杖頭撥著,個個都是會佛法底人。何也?戎夷蠻貊分J37nB370_p0003a20諸國,盡在吾皇化育中。」
J37nB370_p0003a21晚參。舉:「破山明道:『第一句薦得,好肉剜瘡;第二句薦J37nB370_p0003a22得,虛空掘洞;第三句薦得,泥裏有刺。』」師云:「正眼看來,J37nB370_p0003a23字經三寫,烏焉成馬。草堂有個見處,不是與師翁鬥J37nB370_p0003a24勝,總要佛法流通。第一句薦得,咬木樝羹;第二句薦J37nB370_p0003a25得,炊鐵釘板;第三句薦得,無本可據。且與師翁是同?J37nB370_p0003a26是別?具眼者明辨看。」
J37nB370_p0003a27上堂。拈拄杖,云:「者木上座一向妄談般若,罪犯彌天。」J37nB370_p0003a28以杖置背後,云:「而今貶向無生國裏住著,正恁麼時,J37nB370_p0003a29還有為伊保任者麼?若無,山僧自保去也。」靠拄杖,下J37nB370_p0003a30座。
J37nB370_p0003b01小參。舉:「僧問趙州:『如何是祖師西來意?』州云:『庭前柏J37nB370_p0003b02樹子。』僧云:『和尚莫將境示人。』州云:『我不將境示人。』僧J37nB370_p0003b03云:『如何是祖師西來意?』州云:『庭前柏樹子。』」師云:「西來J37nB370_p0003b04意,庭前柏,趙州老,分明說,喚作境,眼著屑。還識趙州J37nB370_p0003b05麼?庭前柏樹子。」
J37nB370_p0003b06晚參。舉:「睦州問秀才云:『所業何經?』才云:『《易經》。』州云:『易J37nB370_p0003b07中道:「百姓日用而不知。」不知個甚麼?』才云:『不知其道。』J37nB370_p0003b08州云:『作麼生是道?』才無語。州云:『果然不知。』」師云:「秀才J37nB370_p0003b09雖然無語,其聲如雷。州云『果然不知。』也是壓良為賤。J37nB370_p0003b10若是草堂,待伊無語,不消一喝,自然吾道一貫。」
J37nB370_p0003b11上堂。以拂子拂一拂,云:「有世界以音聲為佛事,有世J37nB370_p0003b12界以禪悅為佛事,且山僧者裏以何為佛事?」擊拂子,J37nB370_p0003b13下座。
J37nB370_p0003b14上堂。舉:「龐居士問靈照曰:『古人道:「明明百草頭,明明J37nB370_p0003b15祖師意。」作麼生?』照曰:『老老大大作者個語話。』士曰:『你J37nB370_p0003b16作麼生?』照曰:『明明百草頭,明明祖師意。』士乃笑。」師云:J37nB370_p0003b17「者兩父子,一人前不搆村,一人後不抵店,若是一齊J37nB370_p0003b18到來,大好一坑埋卻。艸堂如此批判,還有傍不肯者J37nB370_p0003b19麼?出來道看。」
J37nB370_p0003b20晚參。舉:「雲門拈拄杖云:『凡夫實謂之有,二乘析謂之J37nB370_p0003b21無,圓覺謂之幻有,菩薩當體即空。衲僧見拄杖但喚J37nB370_p0003b22作拄杖,行但行、坐但坐,總不得動著。』」師云:「此老說話,J37nB370_p0003b23是則也似,似則未是。何也?道有、道無,說空、說幻,惹得J37nB370_p0003b24大驚小怪。艸堂者裏,一任凡夫、二乘、圓覺、菩薩到來,J37nB370_p0003b25一齊按過。不見道:但得雪消盡,自然春到來。」
J37nB370_p0003b26上堂。舉:「盤山道:『心月孤圓,光吞萬象。光非照境,境亦J37nB370_p0003b27非存。光境俱忘,復是何物?』洞山云:『光境未忘,復是何J37nB370_p0003b28物?』」師云:「俱忘未忘,即物非物。小乘錢串,大乘井索。更J37nB370_p0003b29問何如,水中撈月。」
J37nB370_p0003b30資亡,晚參。舉:「僧問長沙:『南泉遷化後向甚麼處去?』沙J37nB370_p0003c01云:『東家作驢,西家作馬。』僧云:『未審意旨如何?』沙云:『要J37nB370_p0003c02騎便騎,要下便下。』」師云:「長沙只解替人答話,卻不知J37nB370_p0003c03自己下落。設有人問:『亡僧遷化後向甚麼處去?』向道:J37nB370_p0003c04『不上天堂,不入地獄。』再問:『意旨如何?』便云:『處處綠楊J37nB370_p0003c05堪繫馬,家家有路透長安。』」
J37nB370_p0003c06上堂。舉:「僧問投子:『如何是十身調御?』投子下繩床立。J37nB370_p0003c07又問:『凡聖相去多少?』投子亦下繩床立。」師云:「賣油翁J37nB370_p0003c08下繩床立,凡聖從來沒階級。若是道個差多少,摩訶J37nB370_p0003c09般若波羅蜜。」
J37nB370_p0003c10晚參。舉:「泐潭興和尚一日南泉至,見興面壁,泉乃拊J37nB370_p0003c11興背,興問:『汝是阿誰?』泉曰:『普願。』興曰:『如何?』泉曰:『也尋J37nB370_p0003c12常。』興曰:『汝何多事?』」師云:「常興想布個縵天網子,打鳳J37nB370_p0003c13羅龍,為尋知己。南泉雖有迅雷掣電之機,要且不識J37nB370_p0003c14常興。還有識者麼?也是尋常。」
J37nB370_p0003c15解制,上堂。「百日期會今朝釋,無許衲僧兩腳逼,出門J37nB370_p0003c16撞見馬相公,莫道艸堂解制去。去!去!去!惟恐不如你J37nB370_p0003c17底意。」喝一喝,下座。
J37nB370_p0003c18上堂。舉:「洞山云:『須知有諸佛向上事。』僧問:『如何是諸J37nB370_p0003c19佛向上事?』山云:『非佛。』雲門道:『名不得,狀不得,所以言J37nB370_p0003c20非。』」師拈拄杖卓一卓,云:「要知諸佛向上事麼?只是不J37nB370_p0003c21可覷著,覷著則頭角生也。」
J37nB370_p0003c22晚參。「今日好風,恭賀知事頭首萬福,切忌錯用心。何J37nB370_p0003c23為錯用心?穿衣喫飯、迎賓待客,豈不是錯用心?屙屎J37nB370_p0003c24放尿、一動一靜,豈不是錯用心?參禪學道、窮古論今,J37nB370_p0003c25豈不是錯用心?成佛作祖、接物利生,豈不是錯用心?J37nB370_p0003c26還更有一處錯用心?止止不須說,我法妙難思,諸增J37nB370_p0003c27上慢人,聞必不敬信。」
J37nB370_p0003c28說戒,上堂。以拄杖卓一卓,喝一喝,云:「適纔優波離尊J37nB370_p0003c29者來山僧拄杖頭上叫道:『經有經師,律有律師,何得J37nB370_p0003c30攙行奪市?』被山僧一喝,羞得滿面慚惶,懡㦬而退。」復J37nB370_p0004a01顧左右,云:「眾中有為伊出氣者麼?若無,木上座與蛇J37nB370_p0004a02添足去也。」
J37nB370_p0004a03上堂。舉:「龐居士云:『心如境亦如,無實亦無虛,有亦不J37nB370_p0004a04管,無亦不拘,不是聖賢,了事凡夫。』」師拈拄杖,云:「者是J37nB370_p0004a05境,將甚麼喚作心?」卓一卓,云:「者是心,將甚麼喚作境?」J37nB370_p0004a06良久,云:「夜半明星當午現,愚人猶待曉雞啼。」
J37nB370_p0004a07晚參。舉:「僧問趙州:『毫釐有差時如何?』州云:『天地懸隔。』J37nB370_p0004a08僧云:『毫釐無差時如何?』州云:『天地懸隔。』」師云:「還識趙J37nB370_p0004a09州麼?毫釐有差,天地懸隔。」
J37nB370_p0004a10上堂。舉:「僧問雲門:『如何是正法眼藏?』門云:『普。』僧又問J37nB370_p0004a11風穴:『如何是正法眼藏?』穴云:『瞎。』」師云:「二老答話亦是J37nB370_p0004a12徐六擔板,若論正法眼藏,未夢見在。若有人問草堂:J37nB370_p0004a13『如何是正法眼藏?』向道:『錦屏山上雲蒸飯,佛殿階前J37nB370_p0004a14狗尿天。』」
J37nB370_p0004a15小參。舉:「鎮府大王問趙州:『和尚年尊,有幾個牙齒在?』J37nB370_p0004a16州云:『只有一個。』王云:『爭喫得物?』州云:『雖然一個,下下J37nB370_p0004a17咬著。』」師云:「雖然下下咬著,要且不知滋味。還有知滋J37nB370_p0004a18味者麼?問取趙州。」
J37nB370_p0004a19上堂。舉:「雲門云:『百草頭上道將一句來。』眾無語。自代J37nB370_p0004a20云:『俱。』圓悟云:『劄。』大慧云:『普。』」師云:「俱劄普,休莽鹵。南山J37nB370_p0004a21有個烏嘴雞,咬殺大蟲卻是虎。」
J37nB370_p0004a22上堂。「老僧有時和泥合水,有時壁立萬仞。你若向和J37nB370_p0004a23泥合水處會,老僧卻在壁立萬仞處;你若向壁立萬J37nB370_p0004a24仞處會,老僧卻在和泥合水處;你若向一切處會,老J37nB370_p0004a25僧總不恁麼。既不恁麼,畢竟向甚麼處會?」良久,云:「著。」
J37nB370_p0004a26小參。舉:「佛敕五百尊者降一毒龍,尊者各運神通,皆J37nB370_p0004a27降不得。忽有異方一尊者到,佛敕令降,尊者于龍前J37nB370_p0004a28彈指,其龍自伏。」師云:「五百尊者降龍,不得正不入邪;J37nB370_p0004a29異方尊者降龍,得邪不入正。」喝一喝,云:「雖然如此,也J37nB370_p0004a30是客聽主裁。」
J37nB370_p0004b01上堂。問:「如何是有為法?」師云:「忙。」進云:「如何是無為法?」J37nB370_p0004b02師云:「閒。」進云:「有無不立時如何?」師云:「點。」進云:「和尚陞J37nB370_p0004b03座為說何法?」師云:「闍黎無聽。」乃云:「一日兩陞堂,草鞋J37nB370_p0004b04沒主張,鐘鳴三陣擂,僧俗列成行,似乎有些子,臨機J37nB370_p0004b05一字忘,看看嘴盧都,拄杖便通方,聽取木上座與諸J37nB370_p0004b06人說法去也。」拋拄杖,下座。
J37nB370_p0004b07薦嚴,小參。拈拄杖,云:「森羅萬象,明暗色空,都盧從自J37nB370_p0004b08己妙明真性中發現。殷善人還會麼?於此會去,則知J37nB370_p0004b09世、出世法無不明了;其或未然,九品蓮開處,百寶自J37nB370_p0004b10莊嚴。」
J37nB370_p0004b11上堂。「昨夜文殊、普賢向南閻浮提掛牌,北鬱單越擂J37nB370_p0004b12鼓,西瞿耶尼上堂,東弗於逮說法,德山棒如雨點,臨J37nB370_p0004b13濟喝似雷轟,適來艸堂門下,不消一捏便了。汝等諸J37nB370_p0004b14人還委悉麼?千峰勢到嶽邊止,萬派聲歸海上消。」
J37nB370_p0004b15晚參。舉:「南泉坐次,一僧問訊,叉手而立,泉云:『太俗生。』J37nB370_p0004b16僧合掌,泉云:『太僧生。』僧無語。」師云:「叉手合掌,俗生僧J37nB370_p0004b17生,也須一狀領過。」
J37nB370_p0004b18鎮臺趙弘燦挂扁,請上堂。卓拄杖,云:「寶劍揮空,乾坤J37nB370_p0004b19失色;古鏡出匣,千妖遁跡。只如森羅萬象,明暗色空,J37nB370_p0004b20情與無情,都盧到來,向甚麼處著腳?」復卓一卓,云:「天J37nB370_p0004b21上有星皆拱北,人間無水不潮東。」舉:「黃檗散眾在洪J37nB370_p0004b22州大安寺,裴相國一日入寺,見壁畫,問寺主:『者是甚J37nB370_p0004b23麼?』主云:『高僧真儀。』公曰:『真儀可觀,高僧何在?』主無對。J37nB370_p0004b24公曰:『此間有禪人否?』曰:『近有一僧投寺執役,頗似禪J37nB370_p0004b25者。』公遂請相見,曰:『休適有一問,諸德吝辭,今請上人J37nB370_p0004b26代一轉語。』檗曰:『請相公垂問。』公舉前話,檗朗聲曰:『裴J37nB370_p0004b27休!』公應諾。檗曰:『在甚麼處?』公當下知旨,如獲髻珠。」師J37nB370_p0004b28云:「若是流通正眼則可,若當禪會,亦是萬里望崖州。J37nB370_p0004b29如鎮臺趙護法曾問山僧:『三教同別?』予云:『不特三教,J37nB370_p0004b30四生十二類,凡有血氣者,莫不本此。』鎮臺曰:『只如萬J37nB370_p0004c01法歸一,一歸何處?』予震威一喝,鎮臺當下洞源。所以J37nB370_p0004c02不昧本因,篆額豎於草堂,法門幸甚,泉石生輝。且道J37nB370_p0004c03與古人相去多少?」良久,云:「從今一鑑明如鏡,千古令J37nB370_p0004c04人照膽寒。」
J37nB370_p0004c05晚參。舉:「雲門道:『既知來處,且道甚麼劫中無祖師?』自J37nB370_p0004c06代云:『今日不著便。』」師云:「雲門只解瞻前,不解顧後。草J37nB370_p0004c07堂則不然,既知來處,且甚麼劫中無祖師?」喝一喝:「不J37nB370_p0004c08圖點眼,只要話行。」
J37nB370_p0004c09元日,上堂。舉:「僧問鏡清:『新年頭還有佛法也無?』清云:J37nB370_p0004c10『有。』僧云:『如何是新年頭佛法?』清云:『元正啟祚,萬物咸J37nB370_p0004c11新。』僧云:『謝師答話。』清云:『鏡清今日失利。』僧又問智門:J37nB370_p0004c12『新年頭還有佛法也無?』門云:『無。』僧云:『年年是好年,因J37nB370_p0004c13甚卻無?』門云:『張公喫酒李公醉。』僧云:『老老大大,頭尾J37nB370_p0004c14不相照。』門云:『智門今日失利。』」師云:「二大老道有、道無,J37nB370_p0004c15俱不好心,辜負人家男女。仔細檢點將來,一人在高J37nB370_p0004c16高山頂立、一人在深深海底行,是則是,欠與者僧點J37nB370_p0004c17眼。」驀豎拂子,召眾,云:「會麼?艸堂今日失利。」揮拂子,下J37nB370_p0004c18座。
J37nB370_p0004c19小參。「山僧者裏無佛可成、無法可說、無禪可參、無道J37nB370_p0004c20可學,但教寒來向火、熱來乘涼、饑來喫飯、困來打眠,J37nB370_p0004c21只是不許情生妄動。若是情生妄動,一棒打折驢腰。」
J37nB370_p0004c22晚參。舉:「仰山一日與嬾安看雨次,安云:『好雨,寂闍黎。』J37nB370_p0004c23山云:『好在甚麼處?』安無語。山云:『某甲卻道得。』安云:『好J37nB370_p0004c24在甚麼處?』山以手指雨,安便休去。」師云:「一個指雨,一J37nB370_p0004c25個看雨,可惜不知落處。即今有知落處者麼?乾坤大J37nB370_p0004c26地竟如洗。」
J37nB370_p0004c27解制,上堂。「時至元宵節,火樹光皎潔,比也莫可比,讚J37nB370_p0004c28也讚不得,問汝諸人瞥不瞥?瞥瞥好休歇,艸鞋高過J37nB370_p0004c29野雞頭,第恐腰包前後拉,此去諸方大有人。莫道艸J37nB370_p0004c30堂對君說,只如九旬把定、三月調心,今日解制一句J37nB370_p0005a01作麼生道?冬至寒食一百五。」
J37nB370_p0005a02小參。「一二三四五六七,七六五四三二一,直饒數到J37nB370_p0005a03劫雲初,究竟不離於此日。有出得此日者麼?」良久,云:J37nB370_p0005a04「鶴有九皋難翥翼,馬無千里謾追風。」
J37nB370_p0005a05晚參。舉:「雪峰云:『南山有條鱉鼻蛇,汝等諸人出入好J37nB370_p0005a06看。』」師云:「不特南山,草堂亦有條鱉鼻蛇,汝等諸人切J37nB370_p0005a07忌踏著,踏著則喪身失命。」
J37nB370_p0005a08天章高鎮臺來山補修告竣,辦齋請上堂。師詣座接J37nB370_p0005a09疏云:「重重華藏界,一一寶樓閣,莊嚴甚微妙,光照諸J37nB370_p0005a10塵剎。且是神通妙用,法爾如然。」過疏云:「聽取下文。」便J37nB370_p0005a11陞,斂衣。白槌竟,乃豎拂子云:「此是世尊拈花,迦葉微J37nB370_p0005a12笑,實相無相,涅槃妙心,付囑摩訶迦葉,展轉相傳三J37nB370_p0005a13千七百餘載,脈似懸絲,幸遇鎮臺高護法赤手扶起,J37nB370_p0005a14赫赫光明照汝諸人,汝等大眾好生委悉。」舉:「朱行軍J37nB370_p0005a15入南際寺齋僧,執手爐行香,乃云:『直下是,直下是。』時J37nB370_p0005a16有僧云:『直下是甚麼?』行軍便喝,僧云:『行軍是佛法中J37nB370_p0005a17人,惡發作麼?』行軍云:『你作惡發會那?』僧便喝,行軍亦J37nB370_p0005a18喝云:『鉤在不疑之地。』遂呼左右:『認取這僧著。』」師云:「行J37nB370_p0005a19軍八面威風,者僧挺身向前,雖然兩不相害,未免二J37nB370_p0005a20俱失利。今日鎮臺高護法來山補修興供,雖不與麼J37nB370_p0005a21說話,鋒鋩已露。鋒鋩既露,將何為證?三尺龍泉光照J37nB370_p0005a22膽,萬人叢裏奪高標。」
J37nB370_p0005a23浴佛,上堂。舉:「遵布衲浴佛次,藥山云:『你只浴得者個,J37nB370_p0005a24要且浴不得那個。』布衲云:『把將那個來。』藥山休去。」師J37nB370_p0005a25云:「可笑藥山不唧溜漢。若是艸堂,待他道:『把將那個J37nB370_p0005a26來。』兩手拉過,按在盆裏,湩上兩湩,管教布衲一生揫J37nB370_p0005a27不乾。然雖如此,不是子期手,敢來月下彈?」
J37nB370_p0005a28上堂。「今朝五月十五,蠶麥收拾在府。纔方整頓休夏,J37nB370_p0005a29炎暑蒸人急苦。且道為甚如此?總不教伊成佛作祖。」
J37nB370_p0005a30晚參。舉:「僧問洞山:『寒暑到來,向甚麼處回避?』山云:『向J37nB370_p0005b01無寒暑處去。』僧云:『如何是無寒暑處?』山云:『寒時寒殺J37nB370_p0005b02闍黎,熱時熱殺闍黎。』僧又問一老宿:『時節恁麼熱,向J37nB370_p0005b03甚麼處迴避?』宿云:『向鑊湯鑪炭裏迴避。』僧云:『鑊湯鑪J37nB370_p0005b04炭裏如何迴避?』宿云:『眾苦不能到。』」師云:「二老宿,一人J37nB370_p0005b05在寒暑裏過冬,一人在寒暑裏休夏。過冬者不知熱,J37nB370_p0005b06休夏者不知涼。草堂恁麼道,眾中可有替二老明辨J37nB370_p0005b07者麼?若明辨得,寒暑不侵;不然,寒時寒殺,熱時熱殺。」
J37nB370_p0005b08誕辰,上堂。「今朝六月半,不消更打筭,甲子滿六十,吾J37nB370_p0005b09道一以貫。」喝一喝,云:「切莫認奴作郎。」
J37nB370_p0005b10晚參。「一二三四五,禾山解打鼓;五四三二一,筭來沒J37nB370_p0005b11位次。秪如南泉斬貓、雲門念七、馬祖陞堂、百丈捲蓆,J37nB370_p0005b12且道明甚麼邊事?或云:『明底是向上事。』或云:『明底是J37nB370_p0005b13本分事。』或云:『明底是一色邊事。』孟八郎恁麼說話,喫J37nB370_p0005b14閻羅老子鐵棒有分。」
J37nB370_p0005b15趙鎮臺為府君勇略將軍祈祥,請上堂。「心同虛空界,J37nB370_p0005b16示等虛空法,證得虛空時,無是無非法。只者無是無J37nB370_p0005b17非法,謂之無上佛果菩提,亦謂之如來妙明心印,印J37nB370_p0005b18鎮十方,演出無量無邊殊勝功德,利益法界一切有J37nB370_p0005b19情,得大安樂、得大自在、得大受用、得大方便、得大總J37nB370_p0005b20持,如暗得燈、如饑得食、如裸得衣、如渡得船、如賈客J37nB370_p0005b21得海,如此種種利益宣之不盡。今日一會僧俗、現任J37nB370_p0005b22宰官各各得之,將自己腳跟下一印印定,並無秋毫J37nB370_p0005b23違背,轉天關、迴地軸,日應萬機,皆眾心之本有,非假J37nB370_p0005b24於外得。且艸堂長老得之又作麼生?全憑一滴曹溪J37nB370_p0005b25水,為霖為雨祚金湯。」
J37nB370_p0005b26解夏,上堂。舉:「洞山解夏云:『初秋夏末,兄弟東去西去,J37nB370_p0005b27直須向萬里無寸草處去。』」師云:「者老漢只解把纜,不J37nB370_p0005b28合放船,所以令人檢點。草堂一夏來,挽著布袋,內不J37nB370_p0005b29放出、外不放入,屈到今日打開,一任兄弟東去西去。J37nB370_p0005b30若是逢人,只不許說在艸堂解夏來。何也?我王庫內J37nB370_p0005c01無如是刀。」
J37nB370_p0005c02古湟印心佛敏首座請上堂。豎拄杖云:「古鏡高懸,森J37nB370_p0005c03羅顯現。」卓一卓云:「寶劍出匣,群魔腦裂,此是我臨濟J37nB370_p0005c04兒孫慣常用底,只今有格外提持者麼?」拋拄杖云:「湟J37nB370_p0005c05中陸路三千里,策馬追風幾度來。」
J37nB370_p0005c06小參。舉:「玄沙云:『諸方老宿盡道接物利生,秖如三種J37nB370_p0005c07病人作麼生接?患盲者,拈椎豎拂他又不見;患聾者,J37nB370_p0005c08語言三昧他又不聞;患啞者,教伊說又說不得。若接J37nB370_p0005c09不得,佛法無靈驗。』有僧請益雲門,門云:『你禮拜著。』僧J37nB370_p0005c10拜起,門以拄杖挃之,僧退後,門云:『汝不是患盲麼?』復J37nB370_p0005c11喚:『近前來。』僧近前,門云:『汝不是患聾麼?』門曰:『會麼?』曰:J37nB370_p0005c12『不會。』門曰:『汝不是患啞麼?』其僧於是有惺。」師云:「者僧J37nB370_p0005c13雖然悟去,只悟得雲門、玄沙禪,要悟草堂禪,大難,大J37nB370_p0005c14難。且如何是草堂禪?劈箭急。」
