J35nB342_p0793a04除夕,晚參。「北禪賢禪師烹露地白牛、林野奇法叔煮J35nB342_p0793a05透海烏雞,二老為人可謂豐且美矣,但叢林中不可J35nB342_p0793a06損傷物命、賣弄腥羶,遭人檢點。幸而華巖者裏也無J35nB342_p0793a07白牛烹、也無烏雞煮,但只隨緣消舊業,任運著衣裳,J35nB342_p0793a08逢茶飲茶、遇飯喫飯。只此分歲,且道:與他二老是同?J35nB342_p0793a09是別?萬國醉心嘗大鼎,相逢攜手蹈高臺。」
J35nB342_p0793a10晚參。「心隨萬境轉,轉處實能幽,隨流認得性,無喜亦J35nB342_p0793a11無憂。河下篩鑼擂鼓、寺前犬吠驢鳴,客船上打寬、神J35nB342_p0793a12廟中唱戲,字冰塗山、燈籠露柱,俱皆是境。心如何隨?J35nB342_p0793a13境如何轉?性如何認?」時有僧云:「謝茶。」師云:「鞏縣。」僧不J35nB342_p0793a14語,師云:「認得底,許你無憂;認不得底,莫道無憂好。」
J35nB342_p0793a15晚參。舉:「慈明參汾陽,陽揣其志,必詬罵。明一日請益,J35nB342_p0793a16汾陽以杖逐之,明擬申救,汾陽以手掩明口,明大悟,J35nB342_p0793a17云:『今日始知臨濟道出常情。』」師云:「華岩習氣不除,敢J35nB342_p0793a18私淑古人?爾等若向老僧上堂、小參、入室、考工、晚參J35nB342_p0793a19時,識得此人,只具一隻眼;若要雙眼圓明,須是向老J35nB342_p0793a20僧痛打痛罵時識取。若也飲氣吞聲,又非丈夫覿體J35nB342_p0793a21承當,難為湊泊。畢竟如何?見義不為非勇士,臨危不J35nB342_p0793a22變始驚群。」
J35nB342_p0793a23晚參。舉:「香嚴道:『此事如人上樹,手不攀枝、足不蹋枝、J35nB342_p0793a24口啣樹枝,有問祖師西來意,不答違問、答則失命。答J35nB342_p0793a25底是?不答底是?』」眾無語。師乃云:「當時香嚴恁麼問時,J35nB342_p0793a26會中有箇虎頭上座出來道:『樹上即不問,即今未上J35nB342_p0793a27樹,請和尚道。』香嚴呵呵大笑。後雪竇舉云:『樹上道則J35nB342_p0793a28易,樹下道則難,老僧上樹去也,致將一問來。』香嚴他J35nB342_p0793a29參活句,不參死句,等閒立箇問端,只是險絕無比。虎J35nB342_p0793a30頭、雪竇二俱作家,一箇上樹了下不得、一箇下樹了J35nB342_p0793b01上不得,所以望影猶難,要見香嚴亦未可在。今日華J35nB342_p0793b02岩與諸人別恣一路,要與香嚴同一鼻孔出氣。」遂吐J35nB342_p0793b03舌云:「會麼?殊不知:人人口內啣一樹枝,放之不下、拈J35nB342_p0793b04之不起,吞之不得、吐之不得,日用動靜、開口閉口、穿J35nB342_p0793b05衣喫飯、行住坐臥,皆是喪身失命處,只因不覺,所以J35nB342_p0793b06命根不斷耳。還見香嚴為人處也無?欸乃一聲船子J35nB342_p0793b07曲,善歌漁父和難齊。」復頌云:「香嚴用活句,捨身命為J35nB342_p0793b08人。虎頭與雪竇,樹枝未黏唇。」
J35nB342_p0793b09晚參。舉:「楊岐依石霜總院事甚久。一日霜出,雨忽作,J35nB342_p0793b10岐偵之小徑,既見。著語云:『捉得賊了也。』又云:『好面孔。』J35nB342_p0793b11遂搊住云:『者老漢須與我說,不說打你去。』著云:『贓物J35nB342_p0793b12現在。』又云:『有理難伸。』霜云:『監寺知是般事便休。』著云:J35nB342_p0793b13『詣實通供。』又云:『將錯就錯。』語未卒,岐大悟。著云:『敗闕J35nB342_p0793b14不少。』又云:『學圃驚雷。』即禮拜於泥途。著云:『有先鋒,無J35nB342_p0793b15殿後。』又云:『詐敗佯輸。』問曰:『狹路相逢時如何?』霜云:『你J35nB342_p0793b16且躲避,我要去那裏去。』著云:『熟處難忘。』又云:『一身都J35nB342_p0793b17是膽。』岐歸。次日,具威儀,詣方丈禮謝。著云:『轉見不堪。』J35nB342_p0793b18又云:『前箭猶輕後箭深。』霜呵云:『未在。』著云:『蓋覆。』著又J35nB342_p0793b19云:『賊是小人,智過君子。』」復召大眾,云:「會麼?德玉未見J35nB342_p0793b20先師時,聞先師飲酒食肉,疑終不決。及見先師,先師J35nB342_p0793b21云:『老僧以酒肉為隱,令人信不若令人疑。』玉於言下J35nB342_p0793b22如日銷冰。玉閱諸錄,見楊岐輔石霜為監寺時,明多J35nB342_p0793b23山行,岐偵之小徑,既見問道,言下大悟。玉猶怪『你且J35nB342_p0793b24躲避,我要去那裏去』之語,大率是德玉無量劫來情J35nB342_p0793b25見未獲乾淨,故爾猶怪。溈山道:『絲毫情見未盡,便是J35nB342_p0793b26生死根本。情見盡處,當究其盡之所以。』如人長在家,J35nB342_p0793b27愁甚麼家中事不辦?若人長在家,則婬房酒肆、肉案J35nB342_p0793b28歌樓咸為發覆,況至人全體無欠無餘?如金剛王寶J35nB342_p0793b29劍,嬰其鋒者失命;如塗毒鼓,遠聞者死。況其邇乎?而J35nB342_p0793b30今季代禪流,不肯苦心諦觀古人作用、深思古人言J35nB342_p0793c01句,只貴現成平實明白便了也。疑此行者寡,舉此語J35nB342_p0793c02者希。先師怕見人耶?何以酒肉為隱?明多山行,禪者J35nB342_p0793c03問道,多失所在,亦似怕人見一般。岐既見求說,霜云:J35nB342_p0793c04『知是般事便休。』語未卒,岐大悟。節節淆訛,又問又答。J35nB342_p0793c05『你且躲避,我要去那裏去。』更是難會。二老行言,第一J35nB342_p0793c06不得作佛法商量,若作佛法商量,入地獄如箭。」
J35nB342_p0793c07晚參。「佛法不離四威儀,非言過便了,必行言始得。」遂J35nB342_p0793c08起身遶几案一匝,云:「豈不是行?」立地云:「豈不是住?」復J35nB342_p0793c09座,云:「豈不是坐?」垂頭于几案,云:「豈不是臥?」時一僧云:J35nB342_p0793c10「漏逗不少。」師云:「老僧用得四威儀,汝等被四威儀用。J35nB342_p0793c11所以趙州道:『老僧使得十二時,汝等諸人被十二時J35nB342_p0793c12使。』汝等要使得十二時,須是向四威儀中體取;要用J35nB342_p0793c13四威儀,須十二時中莫教有一彈指頃空過。還見趙J35nB342_p0793c14州麼?」乃拍左膝,云:「只者是。還見華岩麼?」拍右膝,云:「只J35nB342_p0793c15者是。乾峰云:『舉一不得舉二,錯過一著,落在第二。』」師J35nB342_p0793c16顧眾,云:「且道:一作麼生舉?」時有僧云:「問取無言童子J35nB342_p0793c17始得。」師云:「乾峰大似冰凌上行、劍刃上走,小膽太過。J35nB342_p0793c18華岩則不然,舉一一任舉二,蹉過一著,落七落八。且J35nB342_p0793c19道:如何是二?空劫已前、母未生時,死了、燒了,豈不是J35nB342_p0793c20二?乃至折旋俯仰、舉足下足、行住坐臥,豈不是二?華J35nB342_p0793c21岩具甚手眼,敢與古人翻案?一有多種,二無兩般。」
J35nB342_p0793c22結制前夕晚參。師召大眾,云:「盡十方世界都盧是一J35nB342_p0793c23箇禪堂,結則普天匝地結,在山結山、在水結水、在草J35nB342_p0793c24結草、在木結木,不獨在華巖也。在水單者水單上結、J35nB342_p0793c25在火單者火單上結、在廚廚結、在庫庫結、在旦過旦J35nB342_p0793c26過結、在諸寮諸寮結、在方丈方丈結,不獨在禪堂也。J35nB342_p0793c27者些說話且置,只如大殿門口化錢爐作麼生結?」良J35nB342_p0793c28久,云:「生鐵鑄就。」
J35nB342_p0793c29晚參。舉:「雪峰云:『望州亭與汝相見了也,烏石嶺與汝J35nB342_p0793c30相見了也,法堂前與汝相見了也。』保福問鵝湖孚:『法J35nB342_p0794a01堂前即不問,作麼生是望州亭、烏石嶺相見處?』鵝湖J35nB342_p0794a02驟步歸方丈,保福入僧堂。」師云:「有的道:『明露秋光,暗J35nB342_p0794a03含春色。』有的道:『官不容鍼,私通車馬。』有的道:『者一夥J35nB342_p0794a04販私鹽漢有甚憑據?』老僧者裏總不與麼,二郎關與J35nB342_p0794a05汝相見了也、佛圖關與汝相見了也、法堂前與汝相J35nB342_p0794a06見了也、二時喫粥喫飯與汝相見了也,遠也見、近也J35nB342_p0794a07見,朝也見、暮也見,且道:見箇甚麼?」驀以拂子擊几案,J35nB342_p0794a08云:「無諱處。」
J35nB342_p0794a09晚參。「蕭繼衢請雲峨開示,峨拍禪床三下,云:『會麼?』衢J35nB342_p0794a10云:『不會。』峨云:『你若不會,我與你下箇註腳。』遂遶禪床J35nB342_p0794a11一匝。衢云:『某甲亦隨和尚步步走。』峨云:『師子咬人,韓J35nB342_p0794a12盧逐塊。』」師云:「雲峨法兄恁麼機用全備,煞活齊彰,照J35nB342_p0794a13用同時,人境俱奪即不無,要得入理深談,落草開示J35nB342_p0794a14大遠在。華岩則不然,設使繼衢請華岩開示,華岩亦J35nB342_p0794a15拍禪床三下,云:『會麼?』衢若云:『不會。』華岩亦與他下箇J35nB342_p0794a16註腳,便放身臥。何以如此?不惟截斷繼衢腳跟,更要J35nB342_p0794a17免他韓盧逐塊。」
J35nB342_p0794a18晚參。僧問:「汾陽罷參,意旨如何?」師云:「意謂沒箇薦得J35nB342_p0794a19的人。」進云:「華岩夜參,意旨如何?」師云:「古今無二道。」進J35nB342_p0794a20云:「就中莫不有大士麼?」師云:「不是全無,只是希有。」乃J35nB342_p0794a21舉婆子燒菴話畢,云:「者僧道:『枯木倚寒岩,三冬無煖J35nB342_p0794a22氣。』是有過?是無過?若云有,過在甚處?若云無,婆子何J35nB342_p0794a23故恁麼?以老僧看來,者僧答話明如日月,潔似冰霜,J35nB342_p0794a24可謂有本矣。云何猶不稱婆子意而逐出燒卻菴?還J35nB342_p0794a25委悉麼?研卻月中桂,青光轉更多。」
J35nB342_p0794a26因鋒煙相逼,晚參。「父母未生前,原來有箇甚麼?本自J35nB342_p0794a27天下太平、民豐物阜,只為有生之後有此身,便有六J35nB342_p0794a28根、六塵、六識,千頭萬緒從此始矣,致令眼隨色變、耳J35nB342_p0794a29逐聲遷,六處紛紜惑亂,心君不能自主。要得六處寧J35nB342_p0794a30謐,一心不亂,除非是將內六根、外六塵、中六識一齊J35nB342_p0794b01放捨,捨亦復捨,一總付之于不可逃之定業,則父母J35nB342_p0794b02未生前話頭迥然突露,不安而自安也。脫或不然,身J35nB342_p0794b03在安樂之地、心在憂虞之鄉,將父母未生前話頭拋J35nB342_p0794b04在無事甲裏,任他塞壑填溝,著甚死急?咦!只恐荊棘J35nB342_p0794b05林中下腳易,月明簾外轉身難也。莫怪老僧不與你J35nB342_p0794b06們說破。」
J35nB342_p0794b07晚參。僧舉:「僧問虎丘:『九旬禁足,此意如何?』虎云:『理長J35nB342_p0794b08則就。』是何道理?」師云:「喚什麼作道理?」進云:「僧云:『只如J35nB342_p0794b09六根不具底,還禁得也無?』虎云:『穿過鼻孔。』意在於何?」J35nB342_p0794b10師云:「按牛頭喫草。」進云:「僧云:『今日學人小出大遇也。』J35nB342_p0794b11虎云:『降將不斬。』是賞?是罰?」師云:「我王庫內無如是刀。」J35nB342_p0794b12進云:「僧云:『恁麼則和尚放某甲逐便。』虎云:『停囚長智。』J35nB342_p0794b13是肯?不肯?」師云:「說甚停囚長智?正是因事長智。」師復J35nB342_p0794b14云:「老僧不恁麼,爾從頭問來。」僧便問:「九旬禁足,此意J35nB342_p0794b15如何?」師云:「逼蛇化龍。」僧云:「六根不具底,還禁得也無?」J35nB342_p0794b16師云:「甕中不曾走卻鱉。」僧云:「今日學人小出大遇也。」J35nB342_p0794b17師云:「一任𨁝跳。」僧云:「恁麼則和尚放某甲逐便。」師云:J35nB342_p0794b18「貓兒尾上繫研槌。」僧作禮,師云:「且道:與虎丘是同?是J35nB342_p0794b19別?」僧云:「恩大難酬。」師云:「再與頌出:嚴霜苦雪去還來,J35nB342_p0794b20片片飛花點石臺,分付菴童忙掃卻,莫教詩客又囊J35nB342_p0794b21歸。」
機緣
J35nB342_p0794b23師參蒙山曉元大師,元問:「聞你曾業儒,是否?」師云:「不J35nB342_p0794b24甚通。」元云:「吾無隱乎?爾無隱箇甚麼?」師說道理,元不J35nB342_p0794b25肯。師力參日久,元問:「無隱箇甚麼?」師仍無對。元乃喚J35nB342_p0794b26師,師應諾,元便歸方丈。師隨入,問云:「喚德玉作甚麼?」J35nB342_p0794b27元云:「攢火。」師便攢火,元便出。師於斯知有,乃呈偈云:J35nB342_p0794b28「蒙垂無隱,塵寰皆遍。庖丁解牛,赤心片片。數日茫茫,J35nB342_p0794b29絲毫不薦。急處一提,卻較一線。恩不同期,貧心時獻。」J35nB342_p0794b30元改末句云:「金須百鍊。」
J35nB342_p0794c01師參大隨,問:「百丈耳聾,利害在甚處?」隨云:「即今汝聾J35nB342_p0794c02麼?」師作聽勢。隨云:「何不喝?」師云:「不敢草草。」隨以火箸J35nB342_p0794c03打火爐,云:「是非爾所知也。」師便拜。隨云:「見甚麼?」師又J35nB342_p0794c04拜。云:「放過即不可。」便出。隨追至門,把住云:「道!道!」師提J35nB342_p0794c05起坐具,向空中劃兩劃。隨云:「且莫搖鈴子。」便推出。
J35nB342_p0794c06師復參曉元於極樂,進門便問:「登山涉水程途事,覿J35nB342_p0794c07面相呈時若何?」元云:「且緩緩。」師云:「與麼則同歸少室J35nB342_p0794c08也。」元云:「猶隔山在。」師提起坐具,云:「者箇隔幾許?」元云:J35nB342_p0794c09「三日不相見。」師云:「是何言歟?」禮拜便出。
J35nB342_p0794c10師參草堂離指和尚。在簷下坐,問師:「甚處來?」師云:「梓J35nB342_p0794c11童。」離云:「梓童向你道甚麼?」師云:「自在廊幕下。」離云:「恁J35nB342_p0794c12麼不曾從梓童來。」師拂袖入堂。
J35nB342_p0794c13師到梁山,問雙桂和尚:「草蹊脫卻,雙桂缽袋,高閣金J35nB342_p0794c14城,覿面相呈,請師荅話。」桂作聽勢,師云:「謝師荅話。」桂J35nB342_p0794c15云:「你道我答你是甚麼話?」師便拜,桂顧傍椅子,云:「坐。」J35nB342_p0794c16師又拜云:「不可放過。」桂呵呵大笑。
J35nB342_p0794c17一日,雙桂問師:「如何是活句?」師豎起拳。「如何是死句?」J35nB342_p0794c18師展開掌。「如何是不死不活句?」師撒手便行。桂乃證J35nB342_p0794c19之以偈云:「捏拳展掌露家私,撒手逍遙一並齊。橫骨J35nB342_p0794c20暗抽容易得,舌頭明墮少人知。」
J35nB342_p0794c21師到二祖,問雪臂和尚:「大通智勝佛,十劫坐道場,因J35nB342_p0794c22甚佛法不現前,不得成佛道?」臂云:「天無四壁。」師云:「恁J35nB342_p0794c23麼則偪塞虛空去也。」臂云:「你即今在甚麼處?」師拂袖J35nB342_p0794c24便出。臂喚師,師應諾。臂云:「有茶,把一鍾來。」師便轉身J35nB342_p0794c25禮一拜而出。
J35nB342_p0794c26師至汴鄢乾明。茶次,武鄉令鵬溟梁居士問:「舉一不J35nB342_p0794c27得舉二,錯過一著,落在第二。且道:一作麼生舉?」師以J35nB342_p0794c28茶奉士。士云:「師所賜,理合當飲。」舉鍾便飲,師云:「刺腦J35nB342_p0794c29入膠盆矣。」士云:「應皆作禮。」師云:「也不消得。」
J35nB342_p0794c30師同連江令顯允梁居士坐,論「狗子無佛性」話。師云:J35nB342_p0795a01「且道:你狗子即今何在?」士云:「只在者裏。」師云:「者畜生。」J35nB342_p0795a02士擬議,師示以頌云:「趙州狗子無佛性,朝朝只在門J35nB342_p0795a03前困,忽然遇箇賊人來,一口斷卻渠性命。」
J35nB342_p0795a04師至古鄭國,同趙生員看燈圖。趙云:「德山棒,臨濟喝,J35nB342_p0795a05莫便就是他麼?」師顧傍僧,傍僧云:「趙相公好熟公案。」J35nB342_p0795a06師云:「熟也熟,只不知落處。」趙云:「特來領教。」師向趙背J35nB342_p0795a07上撫一掌,云:「會麼?」趙擬議,師笑云:「果然不知落處。」
J35nB342_p0795a08師冬乾明,同石華、顯允、鵬溟茶次,允以果子奉師。師J35nB342_p0795a09云:「飽也。」華云:「一口吸盡西江水。」鵬云:「師從北來當道,J35nB342_p0795a10一口吞卻五臺山。」師取箸放一隻在華前,放一隻在J35nB342_p0795a11鵬前,云:「吸西江底,吞五臺底,請試吞者箇看。」二俱無J35nB342_p0795a12語,師乃收卻,云:「原來是古廟石師子。」
J35nB342_p0795a13衣水道人舉:「斗山問國符座主:『德輶如毛,因甚民鮮J35nB342_p0795a14克舉之?』符云:『霸王力能扛鼎,不能自舉其身。』」衣水又J35nB342_p0795a15問出冶,冶云:「盡在裏許。」又問師,師云:「放下著。」衣云:「前J35nB342_p0795a16兩人何若?」師云:「符座主,奴也。斗山未具擇法眼。當時J35nB342_p0795a17待符恁麼道,何不與一拶?既力能扛鼎,因甚不能自J35nB342_p0795a18舉其身?符未必又將白文作註解也。出冶自了未得,J35nB342_p0795a19一箇沒量漢被一莖毛蓋卻。」衣云:「舉尚不可,放下箇J35nB342_p0795a20什麼?」師云:「蒼天,蒼天!你道舉不可得,你每日間穿衣J35nB342_p0795a21喫飯底聻?殊不知百姓日用而不知,故君子之道鮮J35nB342_p0795a22矣。」衣云:「鵝王擇乳,素非鴨類。」
J35nB342_p0795a23師問僧:「油盡燈滅時如何?」僧云:「遍界不曾藏。」師云:「從J35nB342_p0795a24來疑著者漢。」僧云:「和尚爭見得?」師云:「昨夜三更月到J35nB342_p0795a25窗。」一僧云:「偪塞虛空。」師云:「只道得一半。」僧云:「那一半J35nB342_p0795a26請和尚道。」師云:「看腳下。」
J35nB342_p0795a27僧問:「三界唯心,萬法唯識。劫火洞然,大千俱壞。未審J35nB342_p0795a28心識何依?」師咳嗽一聲,僧擬議,師云:「會麼?」僧云:「不會。」J35nB342_p0795a29師云:「喫鹹瓜子多了。」
J35nB342_p0795a30衣水道人舉:「僧問雲峨和尚:『大通智勝佛,十劫坐道J35nB342_p0795b01場。因甚佛法不現前,不得成佛道?』峨云:『溝壑易填,人J35nB342_p0795b02心難滿。』」問師何如,師云:「此乃明白恰好死語也。」衣便J35nB342_p0795b03問:「既是十劫坐道場,因何不成佛道?」師云:「疑殺古今J35nB342_p0795b04人。」衣猶讋應,師示以頌云:「端妍嬌面露些些,因甚還J35nB342_p0795b05將衫袖遮?疑殺古今人莫數,半思半憾滿天涯。」
J35nB342_p0795b06鵬溟問:「僧問趙州:『萬法歸一,一歸何處?』此意如何?」師J35nB342_p0795b07云:「鐵壁,鐵壁。」又云:「州云:『我在青州作一領布衫,重七J35nB342_p0795b08斤。』又何如?」師云:「銀山,銀山。」即頌云:「問頭如鐵壁,荅話J35nB342_p0795b09似銀山。堪嗟未悟者,千難與萬難。」
J35nB342_p0795b10師同一僧論女子入定機緣,一僧近前云:「大家受用。」J35nB342_p0795b11師拂袖轉身,云:「吾為汝向紫羅帳裏撒珍珠去也。」僧J35nB342_p0795b12近前以袖拂地一下,師云:「非子不肯承當。」
J35nB342_p0795b13一僧向師前低首云:「昨那兩字承教,甚是痛快。」師云:J35nB342_p0795b14「不敢。」又僧云:「是那兩字?」師以指向空中作一圓相,僧J35nB342_p0795b15擬議,師拋向一邊,僧無語。師云:「情知你認他不得。」
J35nB342_p0795b16師同僧看偈次,僧云:「此兩句好。」師云:「好作轉語。」僧目J35nB342_p0795b17師,師笑。僧云:「者一笑也作得轉語。」師云:「不得忘卻。」
J35nB342_p0795b18師見天華,華握杖相待。師至,華云:「速道!速道!」師云:「與J35nB342_p0795b19他一頓何如?」華云:「渠無氣力。」師云:「多謝!多謝!」華云:「謝J35nB342_p0795b20箇甚麼?」師乃哭兩聲,華便打,師接著拄杖送兩送,華J35nB342_p0795b21擬開口,師撒下拄杖便出。
J35nB342_p0795b22華問師:「普眼因甚不見普賢?」師左旋一匝未竟,華便J35nB342_p0795b23打。師卓然而立,華又打。師復右旋一匝,華默然。師卓J35nB342_p0795b24然而立,華云:「再旋一匝看。」師歸眾。忽一僧不肯,近前J35nB342_p0795b25問師:「普眼因甚不見普賢?」師云:「刀不自割,趾不自躅。」J35nB342_p0795b26僧云:「一念靜中因甚見普賢乘象空中出現?」師云:「情J35nB342_p0795b27生智隔,想變體殊。」僧點頭,師云:「你只好到得者裏。」
J35nB342_p0795b28僧問:「泗州大聖因甚楊州出見?」師踢出一隻履,云:「蹋J35nB342_p0795b29破了也。」

J35nB342_p0795c07師在福嚴時,同數僧至桐鄉。忽城門閉,一僧於高石J35nB342_p0795c08上坐,一僧云:「太高生。」彼僧云:「天上天下,惟吾獨尊。」僧J35nB342_p0795c09云:「既是天上天下唯你獨尊,因甚入桐鄉城不得?」彼J35nB342_p0795c10僧無語。僧問師,師云:「大象不遊兔徑。」僧云:「好與三十J35nB342_p0795c11棒。」師云:「謝子殷勤。」僧便喝,師云:「何勞錦上鋪花?」
J35nB342_p0795c12師至棲賢。茶次,賢問師法號,師云:「自曉。」賢云:「既是自J35nB342_p0795c13曉,又來作麼?」師云:「若不自曉,怎得相見和尚?」賢云:「腳J35nB342_p0795c14跟下好與三十拄杖。」師云:「謝盛設。」賢云:「恁麼則刺腦J35nB342_p0795c15膠盆也。」師云:「偃鼠飲河,無過滿腹。」
J35nB342_p0795c16至金陵,與一僧抬水次,忽一犬過,師云:「四面無路,從J35nB342_p0795c17何處來?」僧云:「從家裏來。」師云:「者畜生。」僧云:「金毛師子。」J35nB342_p0795c18師云:「試哮吼看。」僧擬對,師云:「將謂將謂,元來元來。」僧J35nB342_p0795c19便喝,師云:「賊過張弓。」僧擬再進語,師云:「度扁檐來。」
J35nB342_p0795c20在金陵,摘槐次,僧問:「香嚴上樹」話未終,師云:「若有人J35nB342_p0795c21問我祖師意,我斷荅他不得。」僧云:「答了也。」師云:「莫謗J35nB342_p0795c22他好。」僧云:「為甚不承當?」師以一枝槐向僧擲,云:「接。」
J35nB342_p0795c23僧問:「如何是開門造車的道理?」師云:「去然香來。」僧然J35nB342_p0795c24香至,云:「香即然來,會即不會。」師指爐,云:「插在裏許。」僧J35nB342_p0795c25便插,師云:「不惟開門解造車,而且閉門亦合轍。」僧點J35nB342_p0795c26頭作禮,師云:「百年一夢。」
J35nB342_p0795c27僧送拄杖至,師接。僧云:「恭賀和尚。」師便打。僧禮拜,師J35nB342_p0795c28又打。僧又禮拜,師放下拄杖。又一僧呈拄杖,頌云:「七J35nB342_p0795c29尺烏藤活卓,撐拄世界乾坤。拈來打佛打祖,衲僧箇J35nB342_p0795c30箇落魂。殺活當機全體用,令人腦破血淋淋。」師接得,J35nB342_p0796a01置下不顧。僧目師,師拈杖便打。僧禮拜,師又打。僧擬J35nB342_p0796a02議,師直打出方丈。
J35nB342_p0796a03師問僧:「吾得天龍一指頭禪,一生受用不盡。是那一J35nB342_p0796a04指?」僧云:「是和尚道著。」師云:「你也道看。」僧云:「不離當處J35nB342_p0796a05常湛然。」師云:「此是永嘉的。你的聻?」僧云:「學人無語。」師J35nB342_p0796a06云:「情知你無語。」
J35nB342_p0796a07師問剖石:「石剖也未?」石云:「不敢造次。」師云:「何妨?」石以J35nB342_p0796a08香盒拈向一邊。師云:「剖後如何?」石云:「血滴滴的。」師云:J35nB342_p0796a09「更道看。」石問訊退,師休去。
J35nB342_p0796a10師問僧:「我緩緩問,你緩緩答。」僧云:「是。」師良久,便問僧:J35nB342_p0796a11「你適纔道是。」僧云:「是。」師云:「鷂子過新羅。」
J35nB342_p0796a12僧問:「家家有路透長安,如何是華巖路?」師云:「看腳下。」J35nB342_p0796a13僧遶一匝。師云:「鐵蛇橫古路又作麼生?」僧禮拜,師云:J35nB342_p0796a14「中毒了也。」
J35nB342_p0796a15師問三淵:「打七來兩日也如何?」淵擬對,師便打。淵豎J35nB342_p0796a16拳,師復打,云:「賊過張弓,堪作甚麼?」淵後入方丈請益,J35nB342_p0796a17師問云:「無隱箇甚麼?」淵仍豎拳。師云:「休鼓風力。」淵作J35nB342_p0796a18女人拜,師不肯。淵舞坐具,師云:「一處不通,兩處失功。」J35nB342_p0796a19淵云:「請和尚代一轉語。」師云:「遍界不曾藏。」
J35nB342_p0796a20僧問:「如何是有相?」師豎起拂子。進云:「如何是無相?」師J35nB342_p0796a21放下拂子。進云:「如何是不有不無相?」師云:「退後三步。」J35nB342_p0796a22僧近前三步,師云:「依稀似曲纔堪聽,又被風吹別調J35nB342_p0796a23中。」僧擬議,師云:「何不再進一語?」僧無語,師云:「為山九J35nB342_p0796a24仞,功虧一簣。」
J35nB342_p0796a25一日,階下一土狗為蟻所困,一僧救之。師云:「不救傷J35nB342_p0796a26生、救則奪食,二俱失慈。救即是?不救即是?」僧云:「某甲J35nB342_p0796a27罪過。」師云:「與麼見解,參禪何益?」僧即問師,師云:「老僧J35nB342_p0796a28罪過。」僧佇思,師便喝。僧云:「某甲恁麼道,何言不是?」師J35nB342_p0796a29云:「是你不是。」師即說偈云:「不悟通身口,心生法法咎。J35nB342_p0796a30鸚鵡雖會言,道得不知有。」又一僧云:「土狗性命在某J35nB342_p0796b01甲手裏。」師云:「你做蟻猶未得。」師亦示偈云:「見境生情,J35nB342_p0796b02法法有乖。若能轉物,即同如來。」一僧云:「二俱不取。」師J35nB342_p0796b03云:「蒼天!蒼天!」亦偈云:「二俱不取,蒼天!蒼天!徐六擔板,J35nB342_p0796b04只見一邊。」一僧云:「救。」師云:「不救失慈,救亦失慈。乘言J35nB342_p0796b05者喪,滯句者迷。」一僧云:「不干某甲事。」師云:「一家有事J35nB342_p0796b06百家憂。」僧云:「無著處。」師亦示偈云:「何哉大丈夫,不肯J35nB342_p0796b07入荒草。推過怕承頭,膠盆已刺腦。」一僧云:「護生須是J35nB342_p0796b08殺,殺盡乃方休。」師云:「不是者箇道理。」僧云:「和尚又作J35nB342_p0796b09麼生?」師云:「護生須是殺,殺盡始安居。」僧云:「某甲道了J35nB342_p0796b10也。」師云:「差十萬八千程在。」亦偈云:「語尚有滲漏,情見J35nB342_p0796b11幾時虛?護生須是殺,殺盡始安居。」
J35nB342_p0796b12師一日問眾云:「善侍者置瓦子於石上,真點胸無語,J35nB342_p0796b13作麼代他下得一轉語,免善侍者癡禪之誚?」一僧以J35nB342_p0796b14扇子拈向一邊,師云:「我六月問你,你拈扇子;我臘月J35nB342_p0796b15問你,拈甚麼?」僧豎一指,師云:「兩箇。」僧無語,師云:「癡禪!J35nB342_p0796b16癡禪!」又問一僧,僧揲卻經,師云:「你無看經分也。」僧便J35nB342_p0796b17展開,師云:「救得一半,也只是箇癡禪。」
J35nB342_p0796b18一僧呈趙州狗子頌,師接得便看,中有「抖擻也抖擻」J35nB342_p0796b19之句,師云:「你試抖擻看。」僧以扇子向一邊扇,師云:「好J35nB342_p0796b20狗子!善抖擻,不解咬人。」一僧云:「他年老。」師云:「你抖擻J35nB342_p0796b21看。」僧過一邊立,師云:「好狗子!善抖擻,不解咬人。」
J35nB342_p0796b22僧問:「情忘心盡處如何轉身?」師云:「禮拜著。」僧便拜,師J35nB342_p0796b23攔頭一蹋,僧蹶起,云:「因甚漆桶不快?」師便喝,隨聲又J35nB342_p0796b24掌,僧又作禮,師云:「你既漆桶不快,怎解作禮?」僧作舞J35nB342_p0796b25而出,師呵呵大笑。
J35nB342_p0796b26一僧深夜入方丈,問未竟,師便打。僧擬開口,師又打。J35nB342_p0796b27僧作忍棒勢,師連打,呼傍僧云:「與我將火來,就者裏J35nB342_p0796b28遷化。」僧方禮拜而去。至次日早,上方丈,白云:「某甲作J35nB342_p0796b29蒙和尚激發,大事因緣會得了也,只是覓他蹤跡不J35nB342_p0796b30著。」喝一喝便出。師使人喚至,問云:「靈雲見桃花而悟,J35nB342_p0796c01玄沙因甚不肯?」僧以手掩師口,師笑云:「猶弄手腳在。」J35nB342_p0796c02僧便出,師復呼僧,僧應諾不回,師云:「入膏肓了也。」
J35nB342_p0796c03師問一僧:「如何是透法身句?」僧遶一匝歸眾,師云:「未J35nB342_p0796c04在。」僧復出,師云:「北斗藏身是甚麼意旨?」僧豎拳,師云:J35nB342_p0796c05「死了燒了又作麼生?」僧乃豎拳,師連打兩竹篦。
J35nB342_p0796c06入堂。舉:「黃龍誨機問巖頭:『如何是祖師西來意?』頭云:J35nB342_p0796c07『你解救餈麼?』機云:『解。』頭云:『救餈去。』機又問玄泉,泉拈J35nB342_p0796c08起皂角,云:『會麼?』機云:『不會。』泉放下皂角作洗勢,機便J35nB342_p0796c09作禮,云:『原來佛法無別。』泉云:『你見甚麼道理?』機云:『某J35nB342_p0796c10甲問巖頭,頭云:「你解救餈麼?」豈不是解粘?今日和尚J35nB342_p0796c11拈起皂角亦是解粘,所以道無別。』泉呵呵大笑,機乃J35nB342_p0796c12有省。」師乃問眾云:「誨機悟處得力,在救餈耶?在拈皂J35nB342_p0796c13角耶?」眾下語不愜,師代云:「更使玄泉笑轉新。」又云:「和J35nB342_p0796c14尚問處不在者兩頭。」即頌云:「救餈拈皂角,知解亂如J35nB342_p0796c15麻,也得資糧益,一笑始歸家。」又云:「巖頭恁麼道,救餈J35nB342_p0796c16也不差。不因樵子徑,爭到葛洪家?玄泉拈皂角,皂角J35nB342_p0796c17也不惡,洗淨弊垢衣,脫了打赤膊。」時有僧著語云:「萬J35nB342_p0796c18丈深潭清徹底。」師即以偈示之云:「萬丈深潭清徹底,J35nB342_p0796c19半途而已未歸家,不知月落潭無影,玉本無瑕亦有J35nB342_p0796c20瑕。萬丈深潭清徹底,拈來便用不須疑,自家本有精J35nB342_p0796c21神在,奮迅承當師子兒。」
J35nB342_p0796c22師考工看簽,呼云:「雪林!」林出,師豎起簽,云:「拈起則山J35nB342_p0796c23河大地、十法界、十二類眾生、三世諸佛、百千法門、無J35nB342_p0796c24量妙義盡在者裏。老僧放下時,你道一切在什麼處?」J35nB342_p0796c25林歸本位,師歸方丈。
J35nB342_p0796c26一日,師同數僧商量做工夫。一僧云:「做到前後際斷J35nB342_p0796c27始得。」師云:「前後際斷猶被正知見礙在。」一僧云:「既是J35nB342_p0796c28前後際斷,有何正知見礙?」師云:「若果到此,正好喫棒。J35nB342_p0796c29如不逢人打脫,所以有礙。藥能去病,藥亦是病;藥若J35nB342_p0796c30耽守,其病更甚。」僧作禮,師攔頭一蹋,僧起拂袖便打,J35nB342_p0797a01師云:「未信你在。」
J35nB342_p0797a02師問一僧:「甚處來?」僧云:「城中來。」師云:「見甚奇特事?」僧J35nB342_p0797a03云:「無。」師云:「恁麼則空走也。」僧云:「見纔舖面。」師云:「又道J35nB342_p0797a04無。」又問一僧:「見甚奇特事?」僧云:「無。」師云:「恁麼則空走J35nB342_p0797a05也。」僧云:「若不空走則有也。」師笑云:「也只道得一半。」
J35nB342_p0797a06師問僧:「文殊為七佛之師,因甚出女子定不得?」僧云:J35nB342_p0797a07「從來不借他人力。」師云:「罔明因甚卻出女子定得?」僧J35nB342_p0797a08云:「觸著磕著。」師云:「文殊不及罔明耶?」僧便拜。師云:「弓J35nB342_p0797a09折箭盡也。」
J35nB342_p0797a10師問僧:「無邊剎海,自、他不隔於毫端。因甚菴內人不J35nB342_p0797a11知庵外事?」僧云:「官不容鍼,私通車馬。」師云:「十世古今,J35nB342_p0797a12始終不離於當念。因甚今日不知明日事?」僧云:「有水J35nB342_p0797a13皆含月,無山不帶雲。」師云:「雪峰道底。」
J35nB342_p0797a14師問僧:「三界惟心,萬法惟識。死了、燒了,何為心識?」僧J35nB342_p0797a15豎起拳。師云:「死了、燒了,阿誰豎拳?」僧仍豎拳。師云:「生J35nB342_p0797a16鐵鑄就即不無,兩片皮交閣在甚麼處?」僧便拜,師便J35nB342_p0797a17打。次日,復以前語詰之,僧仍豎拳。師云:「昨日道過了。」J35nB342_p0797a18僧云:「一回拈出一回新。」師打云:「放你不過。」
J35nB342_p0797a19師問僧:「誰?」僧云:「兩眼對兩眼。」師云:「你燒作一堆灰。老J35nB342_p0797a20僧燒作一堆灰又如何?」僧云:「遍地是黃金。」師云:「試抓J35nB342_p0797a21兩把呈似老僧看。」僧無語,師便打。
J35nB342_p0797a22僧入,師云:「如何是世尊不說說?」僧默然,師便打,僧便J35nB342_p0797a23喝。師云:「如何是迦葉不聞聞?」僧又喝,師又打,僧近前J35nB342_p0797a24把住柱杖,師云:「我與你相打耶?」僧云:「當仁不讓。」師放J35nB342_p0797a25下柱杖便坐,僧便作禮。
J35nB342_p0797a26僧入,師云:「看蹋著。」僧便蹋。師云:「未入時聻?」僧連蹋兩J35nB342_p0797a27蹋。師云:「三蹋、四蹋後又作麼生?」僧拂袖便行。師云:「也J35nB342_p0797a28是風力所轉。」
J35nB342_p0797a29僧入,師云:「如何是世尊不說說?」僧云:「不說說又說箇J35nB342_p0797a30甚麼?」師云:「如何是迦葉不聞聞?」僧云:「不聞聞又聞箇J35nB342_p0797b01甚麼?」師便打,僧便拜,師直打出方丈。
J35nB342_p0797b02師問僧:「如何是德山末後句?」僧云:「道不出。」師云:「密啟J35nB342_p0797b03其意又作麼生?」僧云:「拽不入。」師云:「因甚師遭徒記?」僧J35nB342_p0797b04云:「教得孩兒解罵爺。」師云:「不謬華巖悅眾。」
J35nB342_p0797b05師問僧:「無夢無想,主人公在甚麼處?」僧番轉蒲團。師J35nB342_p0797b06云:「有夢有想時又如何?」僧又番轉蒲團。師云:「老僧燒J35nB342_p0797b07作一堆灰、你燒作一堆灰,還弄得者箇麼?」僧一邊叉J35nB342_p0797b08手立。師云:「好與三十拄杖。」
J35nB342_p0797b09僧請益云:「某甲話頭不明。」師云:「穿衣時誰與汝束帶?J35nB342_p0797b10喫飯時誰與汝把箸?」僧云:「本來面目。」師云:「又道不明。」J35nB342_p0797b11僧云:「不與某甲相干。」師云:「甚麼與你不相干?」僧便放J35nB342_p0797b12身臥。師呼傍僧云:「將火來燒者死漢。」僧起云:「是空底。」J35nB342_p0797b13師云:「若是空底,怎解與麼?」僧便拜。師云:「好與兩蹋。」
J35nB342_p0797b14僧問師:「僧問興化:『四方八面來時如何?』化云:『打中間J35nB342_p0797b15底。』意旨如何?」師云:「近前來。」僧近前,師云:「退後。」僧退後,J35nB342_p0797b16師云:「打甚麼底?」僧云:「某甲則不然。」師云:「打中間底,意J35nB342_p0797b17旨如何?」僧云:「不打南,不打北。」師云:「老僧有甚麼過?」
J35nB342_p0797b18僧入,師云:「如何是第一玄?」僧豎右手。師云:「如何是第J35nB342_p0797b19二玄?」僧豎左手。師云:「如何是第三玄?」僧問訊。師云:「如J35nB342_p0797b20何是第一要?」僧以袖右拂。師云:「如何是第二要?」僧以J35nB342_p0797b21袖左拂。師云:「如何是第三要?」僧揖。師云:「你底舌頭誰J35nB342_p0797b22割去了?」僧云:「今日痛。」師笑之。
J35nB342_p0797b23僧入,師於棹上畫一圓相,中書一字,僧右手抹卻。師J35nB342_p0797b24又畫一圓相,中書十字,僧以左手抹卻。師又畫一圓J35nB342_p0797b25相,中書卍字,僧拂袖而出。師云:「好與三十拄杖。」
J35nB342_p0797b26僧入,師云:「高峰閉死關,意旨如何?」僧云:「不會。」師云:「中J35nB342_p0797b27峰侍死關,意旨如何?」僧云:「不會。」師云:「鈍漢!」僧近前,云:J35nB342_p0797b28「見那些鈍?」師便打。僧接住拄杖送兩下,師放下拄杖,J35nB342_p0797b29僧把得拋向一邊,師云:「枯骨上有甚麼汁?」
J35nB342_p0797b30一老僧禮拜次,師云:「你年老也要喫棒麼?」僧云:「年老J35nB342_p0797c01性不老。」師連打兩棒,云:「是什麼?」僧云:「風聲水響。」師云:J35nB342_p0797c02「通身是口視不及,通身是眼說不徹。」
J35nB342_p0797c03師問僧:「北禪賢烹露地白牛,汝作麼生會?」僧云:「血濺J35nB342_p0797c04梵天。」師云:「林野奇煮透海烏雞又何如?」僧作嘔吐勢,J35nB342_p0797c05師云:「饒你吞吐得,也放你不過。」便打。
J35nB342_p0797c06師問僧:「年窮歲盡時如何?」僧云:「大盡三十日,小盡二J35nB342_p0797c07十九。」師云:「王老夜燒錢,又是何意?」僧云:「金烏西墜,玉J35nB342_p0797c08兔東昇。」師云:「學語之流。」便打。
J35nB342_p0797c09師問僧:「北禪賢剖露地白牛,意旨如何?」僧禮拜。師云:J35nB342_p0797c10「莫禮拜。林野奇煮透海烏雞又如何?」僧便出。師呼僧J35nB342_p0797c11云:「轉來。」僧便轉來。師云:「我怕你救不得了去。」
J35nB342_p0797c12僧入,師問:「死了、燒了,誰為徹我?」僧便拜,師云:「死了誰J35nB342_p0797c13拜?」僧便喝。師云:「燒了誰喝?」僧云:「請和尚且燒者一喝J35nB342_p0797c14看。」師便喝。
J35nB342_p0797c15師仝雪君暨屠居士遊溫泉。雪君將浴,喫餅次,屠居J35nB342_p0797c16士云:「大家來喫湯餅會。」雪君云:「此處可名洗兒泉。」師J35nB342_p0797c17云:「恁麼則九龍吐水也未?」君云:「恨不自脅下出也。」師J35nB342_p0797c18提起患珠作痛聲,屠居士云:「此老倒會捏怪。」師頌曰:J35nB342_p0797c19「入水求人兩意符,九龍吐水沐金軀。母云不自脅間J35nB342_p0797c20出,痛徹山僧一串珠。」
J35nB342_p0797c21師問僧:「松柏不在,你在否?」僧云:「不在。」云:「抵對者誰?」僧J35nB342_p0797c22云:「松柏。」云:「亂走作麼?」僧云:「荷和尚鑒。」
J35nB342_p0797c23師問僧:「雪覆千山時如何?」僧云:「請和尚歸方丈。」云:「作J35nB342_p0797c24麼?」僧云:「向火恐天氣冷。」
J35nB342_p0797c25師問僧:「如何是德山會得底末後句?」僧云:「泥多佛大。」J35nB342_p0797c26云:「果與往昔不同。甚麼不同?」僧云:「水漲船高。」云:「果然J35nB342_p0797c27只得三年活。因甚師遭徒記?」僧云:「新婦騎驢阿家牽。」J35nB342_p0797c28云:「未在。」
J35nB342_p0797c29僧問:「塗毒鼓是什麼意?」師自摑口云:「向你說,老僧有J35nB342_p0797c30無量罪過。」僧便禮拜。師攔頭一踏,云:「你還會塗毒鼓J35nB342_p0798a01麼?」僧掩耳而出,師便歸寢室。
J35nB342_p0798a02問:「如何是大句?」師云:「問甚麼?」僧又問,師顧傍僧云:「有J35nB342_p0798a03雄黃麼?」傍僧云:「有。」師喝云:「一對無孔鐵鎚。」
J35nB342_p0798a04師問僧:「甚麼物恁麼拜?」僧云:「地水火風。」師云:「地水火J35nB342_p0798a05風消散時如何?」僧云:「盡在者裏。」師云:「既消散盡,誰在J35nB342_p0798a06者裏?」僧便喝,師便打。
J35nB342_p0798a07僧入,師云:「前者老僧答你道:『且放你過。』有兩負門。且J35nB342_p0798a08道:過在老僧?在上座?」僧云:「過在某甲。」師便打。僧便拜,J35nB342_p0798a09師又打。僧擬開口,師直打出方丈。
J35nB342_p0798a10僧入,師打一拄杖,云:「道!」僧便拜。師又打一拄杖,云:「道!」J35nB342_p0798a11僧又拜。師連打兩拄杖,云:「道!道!」僧擬議,師笑云:「拜不J35nB342_p0798a12得了。」又僧入,師打一拄杖,云:「道!」僧便喝。師又打一拄J35nB342_p0798a13杖,云:「道!」僧云:「不道!」師連打兩拄杖,云:「道!道!」僧云:「不道!J35nB342_p0798a14不道!」師放下拄杖,僧便拜。
J35nB342_p0798a15師問深信汪西堂:「黃檗打臨濟,濟何故不即掌,只要J35nB342_p0798a16見大愚後方纔與麼?」信云:「某甲總不與麼。」師便打一J35nB342_p0798a17如意,云:「老僧要按牛頭喫草。」信便與師一掌,師放下J35nB342_p0798a18如意,深信便出。師與偈云:「逼爾懸崖撒手,果然直下J35nB342_p0798a19承當。一掌打得如意,胸合佛祖心腸。」
J35nB342_p0798a20載升書記纔入,師便拈拄杖,云:「你覺林有者箇麼?」升J35nB342_p0798a21云:「撐天拄地。」師云:「又來作麼?」升云:「拄地撐天。」師便打。J35nB342_p0798a22升云:「圓旭不辭,恐煩尊力。」師復打,云:「拄地撐天箇漢,J35nB342_p0798a23區區兩次何求?怒起無明老子,極麤一棒打頭。」

J35nB342_p0798a29問:「如何是奪人不奪境?」師云:「滿地好嚴霜。」「如何是奪J35nB342_p0798a30境不奪人?」師云:「凍得人徹骨。」「如何是人境兩俱奪?」師J35nB342_p0798b01云:「昨夜寒更甚。」「如何是人境俱不奪?」師云:「老僧頭將J35nB342_p0798b02類山頭。」
J35nB342_p0798b03僧辭,師問:「甚處去?」僧云:「城中去。」師云:「作甚麼?」僧云:「有J35nB342_p0798b04箇甚事?」師云:「學道人無剪爪工,向外覓甚麼事?」僧云:J35nB342_p0798b05「已著草鞋了也。」師拈拄杖劃兩劃,云:「汝昨道:『不入虎J35nB342_p0798b06穴,爭得虎子?』虎穴已開,汝作麼生入?」僧便拜,師便打。J35nB342_p0798b07僧拂袖,師又打。僧接住拄杖喝一喝,師撒下一頭,僧J35nB342_p0798b08亦拋向一邊。師歸寢室,僧亦隨入,作禮,云:「發超觸忤J35nB342_p0798b09和尚。」師云:「不得冤深似海,吾道豈能久持?率性更與J35nB342_p0798b10一頓,徹骨徹髓蒿枝。」
J35nB342_p0798b11僧求易雙桂派,師云:「汝出家幾年?」僧云:「四十年。」師云:J35nB342_p0798b12「汝師何人?」僧云:「沒去處。」師云:「是何言也?」僧云:「發源到J35nB342_p0798b13此,水窮山盡了也。」師云:「四十年來向外求,而今一旦J35nB342_p0798b14野心休,水窮山盡言相契,故我嘿然而點頭。」
J35nB342_p0798b15問僧:「汝名大器,大即不無,是甚麼器?」僧頓足一下,云:J35nB342_p0798b16「和尚也認他不得。」師云:「百碎了也。」僧近前,師拈拄杖,J35nB342_p0798b17僧作怕勢。師云:「畏煙不加以火。」僧便拜,師放下拄杖,J35nB342_p0798b18云:「貪生怕死漢。」
J35nB342_p0798b19問僧:「昨清淨本然話,一般問,一般答,因甚後悟前不J35nB342_p0798b20悟?」僧云:「水到自成渠。」師云:「猶在老僧圈繢裡。」僧云:「好J35nB342_p0798b21本多同。」師云:「墮在毒海。」入室畢,僧復入,淚云:「某在別J35nB342_p0798b22處橫說豎說得,到者裏啟口不得者,何也?」師云:「我為J35nB342_p0798b23你說箇譬喻,得麼?」僧云:「乞和尚慈悲。」師云:「如肚饑人J35nB342_p0798b24坐在飯籮裏喫不徹,你還會麼?」僧便躍然喜。
J35nB342_p0798b25師問僧:「綿亙十虛者是箇甚麼?」僧云:「澹煙籠翠竹。」師J35nB342_p0798b26云:「不落數量又作麼生?」僧云:「薄霧滴青松。」師云:「汝名J35nB342_p0798b27亙一。」僧云:「千峰聳翠。」師指火爐,云:「老僧與闍黎俱燒J35nB342_p0798b28作一堆灰,誰向千里外垂手?」僧便踏火爐一腳。師拈J35nB342_p0798b29拄杖,僧便喝,師便打,僧接住拄杖,推兩推,師掌云:「我J35nB342_p0798b30與你相打耶?」僧便拜,云:「放過即不可。」師云:「相打沒甚J35nB342_p0798c01好拳,相罵沒甚好言。此報終須有報,記汝可絕吾煙。」
J35nB342_p0798c02師問僧:「古渡無人是何境界?」僧云:「未開口前勘破也。」J35nB342_p0798c03師云:「古渡有人又是何境界?」僧云:「沒識得者箇消息。」J35nB342_p0798c04師云:「但得皇風成一片,不知何處是封疆?」
