J35nB342_p0783b05康熙庚戌年十月十五日,雙山里蔣弘道等新建本J35nB342_p0783b06院,請師開爐。
J35nB342_p0783b07拈疏。「元符太白同斯理,雙桂華巖沒兩般,祖脈淵源J35nB342_p0783b08在裏許,維那剖出大家看。」
J35nB342_p0783b09法座。「不是曲彔木,亦非吉祥草,喚作諸法空,依前不J35nB342_p0783b10恰好。且道:如何方恰好?看取令行時。」陞座。
J35nB342_p0783b11拈香。「此一瓣香,初得廣成子,三祝華封人,耑為祝J35nB342_p0783b12延J35nB342_p0783b13今上皇帝聖躬萬歲萬歲萬萬歲,唯願一人無事,免J35nB342_p0783b14股無膚、脛無毛之勞;眾庶謳歌,得日出作、日入息之J35nB342_p0783b15樂。」次拈香,云:「此一瓣香,在天乘東維、騎箕尾,在地隱J35nB342_p0783b16傅巖、舉版築,奉為滿朝文武、闔國公卿,暨本省、本郡、J35nB342_p0783b17本邑當道尊官、現前檀越、今期請主,惟願在位者祿J35nB342_p0783b18位高增、在野者臻延福壽。」末後拈香,云:「此一瓣香,一J35nB342_p0783b19出一入於極險地,始自兵戈隊裏得來,再甄再陶於J35nB342_p0783b20百煉爐,今就荊棘林中拈出,熱向爐中,奉為雙桂堂J35nB342_p0783b21上傳臨濟正宗第三十一世破山先師,用酬法乳之J35nB342_p0783b22恩。」斂衣敷座。上首白槌,云:「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」
J35nB342_p0783b23問:「新開爐韛設斯場,四眾欣欣睹建莊,因此懷香呈J35nB342_p0783b24一問,以何法道播諸方?」師云:「理長則就。」進云:「就箇甚J35nB342_p0783b25麼?」師以拂子拂一拂,云:「會麼?」進云:「不會。」師云:「幸爾不J35nB342_p0783b26會,若會,打折爾腰。」進云:「過在甚麼處?」師云:「道理也不J35nB342_p0783b27知。」問:「如何是己躬下事?」師云:「腳根下薦取。」進云:「體露J35nB342_p0783b28堂堂時如何?」師云:「光天灼地。」進云:「未出方丈時如何?」J35nB342_p0783b29師云:「閉目看。」進云:「出後如何?」師云:「劈箭急。」進云:「撥轉J35nB342_p0783b30虛空笑一場,原來無物可商量。」道了拂袖歸眾。師云:J35nB342_p0783c01「莫道無事好。」乃云:「把得便用,意若死灰;撩起便行,心J35nB342_p0783c02如墻壁。聞言而信,萬年一念做工夫;得意而歸,東去J35nB342_p0783c03西來行祖道。有生可度,鈍鳥栖蘆;無佛可成,情同止J35nB342_p0783c04水。凱歌齊奏,難乎不涉程途;天下太平,理宜歸家穩J35nB342_p0783c05坐。安禪結制,話已周圓,祝國祐民,作麼生道?但願皇J35nB342_p0783c06風彌宇宙,堯仁舜德萬斯年。」舉:「南泉住山,有一道者J35nB342_p0783c07相訪,泉云:『我上山作務,你做飯喫了,與我送些來。』泉J35nB342_p0783c08去後,道者做飯喫了,打破鍋碗去床上臥。泉見不來,J35nB342_p0783c09便歸,見打破鍋碗在床上臥,泉亦去道者身邊臥,道J35nB342_p0783c10者便起去。泉後出世,舉云:『我二十年前住山,見一道J35nB342_p0783c11者甚是靈利,直至而今不見。』」師云:「說甚麼二十年不J35nB342_p0783c12見?殊不知:道者打破鍋碗時早不見了也。泉去身邊J35nB342_p0783c13臥,尋蹤捕影耳。二十年後恁麼舉,意在於何?從前汗J35nB342_p0783c14馬無人識,只要重論蓋代功。」上首復白槌,云:「諦觀法J35nB342_p0783c15王法,法王法如是。」
J35nB342_p0783c16上堂。問:「世尊不說說,迦葉不聞聞則背;世尊說說,迦J35nB342_p0783c17葉聞聞則觸。不觸不背時如何?」師云:「華岩向者裏道J35nB342_p0783c18不出。」僧擬議,師便喝,僧亦喝,師云:「是背?是觸?」僧便拜,J35nB342_p0783c19師復喝,乃云:「世尊不說說,華巖不曾出方丈;迦葉不J35nB342_p0783c20聞聞,大眾何嘗到法堂?向者裏直下肯承當,如紅爐J35nB342_p0783c21上著一點雪;將此事當機齊捨卻,似枯木上撒些子J35nB342_p0783c22花。大眾!還委悉麼?也是石臼呼風、虛窗吐白,各人回J35nB342_p0783c23觀返照,自然口耳根寂,聞說塵消,凡聖同源、古今不J35nB342_p0783c24二。誰非迦葉?誰非世尊?靈山一會儼然未散。只如華J35nB342_p0783c25岩依舊歸方丈,大眾仍復還本位,又且如何?不離當J35nB342_p0783c26處常湛然,覓即知君不可見。」
J35nB342_p0783c27長至,上堂。「天地之心今始開,云何一復萬機回?為他J35nB342_p0783c28枯盡閒草木,律管吹灰力自來。」
J35nB342_p0783c29上堂。「昨日黨元戎至靜夜繹思幾句佛法,想今日陞J35nB342_p0783c30座背諷一遍,與諸人結般若緣,並酬信施。洎乎諸人J35nB342_p0784a01形問形答,盡情遺忘,華巖從頭至足,內而肝、膽、腸、胃,J35nB342_p0784a02外而髮、毛、爪、齒,乃至大地山河,于其中間覓佛法如J35nB342_p0784a03芥子許不可得。且道:將何以酬?」遂喝一喝,下座。
J35nB342_p0784a04佛成道,王有功送子披剃,請上堂。以拂子召眾,云:「見J35nB342_p0784a05麼?此是王元戎捨子出家底捨心也,昔釋迦老子捨J35nB342_p0784a06王位、國臣、妻子皆同者箇捨心。今日子夜睹明星而J35nB342_p0784a07悟云:『吾觀大地眾生俱有如來智慧德相。』亦悟者箇J35nB342_p0784a08捨心。即是人人俱有如來智慧德相,因甚釋迦悟、大J35nB342_p0784a09眾不悟?釋迦老子恁麼道,豈不是壓良為賤?汝等可J35nB342_p0784a10以見義勇為、見賢思齊也。還委悉麼?山東宰相山西J35nB342_p0784a11將,彼丈夫兮我丈夫。」以拂子拂一拂,下座。
J35nB342_p0784a12劉光喜請上堂。「雞鳴犬吠,鵲噪鴉啼,觀音菩薩來也;J35nB342_p0784a13墻壁瓦礫,大地山河,普賢願王在焉。來在聲色裏求J35nB342_p0784a14人、聞見中垂手則不無,掀翻聲色、踢脫見聞一句作J35nB342_p0784a15麼生道?數聲清磬是非外,一箇閒人天地間。」
J35nB342_p0784a16周啟嗣請上堂。「將拄杖在目上視了。」復顧左右,云:「者J35nB342_p0784a17箇木上座,默也可。」卓一下,云:「語也可。」豎起,云:「直也可。」J35nB342_p0784a18橫拄杖,云:「橫也可。語默直橫俱可且置,拄杖未出方J35nB342_p0784a19丈,倚墻靠壁時,還解恁麼也無?一氣不言含有象,萬J35nB342_p0784a20靈何處謝無私?」
J35nB342_p0784a21元旦,上堂。問:「爆竹一聲除舊歲,梅花幾點迓新年。如J35nB342_p0784a22何是舊歲?」師云:「桃符已喚。」進云:「如何是新年?」師云:「曆J35nB342_p0784a23日已頒。」進云:「不涉新舊時如何?」師豎拂子,云:「是涉?是J35nB342_p0784a24不涉?」進云:「放下拂子又作麼生?」師云:「闍黎且歸眾去。」J35nB342_p0784a25僧便歸眾。師云:「看者僧好穩腳跟。」乃云:「空劫已前一J35nB342_p0784a26句子,梅花吐露已多時,今朝何故重重舉?貴要眼前J35nB342_p0784a27人共知。且道:知箇甚麼?恭賀大眾新春納祐。」
J35nB342_p0784a28解制,上堂。問:「寒去春來即不問,如何是解制句?」師云:J35nB342_p0784a29「緊俏草鞋。」進云:「向上宗乘又作麼生?」師云:「鐵蛇橫古J35nB342_p0784a30路。」進云:「與麼則諸佛不出世,祖師不西來也。」師云:「那J35nB342_p0784b01裏云來?」僧便喝,師便打,乃云:「父母所生眼畢竟壞、父J35nB342_p0784b02母所生耳畢竟壞、父母所生鼻畢竟壞、父母所生舌J35nB342_p0784b03畢竟壞、父母所生身畢竟壞、父母所生意畢竟壞,六J35nB342_p0784b04根既壞,六塵絕待,心識全銷,無罣無礙。大眾!還會麼?J35nB342_p0784b05若於斯會得,便可高高峰頂立,深深海底行,十字街J35nB342_p0784b06頭橫行直撞,者邊、那邊,西天、東土,無可、不可;如或不J35nB342_p0784b07會,不妨長連床上依舊觜盧都。」舉:「僧問大隨:『劫火洞J35nB342_p0784b08然,大千俱壞,未審者箇壞不壞?』隨云:『壞。』僧云:『恁麼則J35nB342_p0784b09隨他去也。』隨云:『隨他去。』僧不肯。」師云:「者僧與麼問,大J35nB342_p0784b10隨合答他甚麼語,免者僧不肯?設有人問華巖:『劫火J35nB342_p0784b11洞然,大千俱壞,未審者箇壞不壞?』亦向伊道:『壞。』『恁麼J35nB342_p0784b12則隨他去也。』但答伊云:『一任舉似諸方。』」
J35nB342_p0784b13師誕,雪林維那請上堂。「無明父,恩愛母,念念遷流莫J35nB342_p0784b14可補,賴遇朗公推出頭,與他道箇雲門普。」卓拄杖一J35nB342_p0784b15下,云:「者是無明父。」又卓一下,云:「者是恩愛母。雲門普J35nB342_p0784b16在甚麼處?」復卓兩下,云:「于茲委悉得,大地無寸土。」
J35nB342_p0784b17辛亥冬結制,印金、印剛請上堂。「以楔去楔,棒頭落處J35nB342_p0784b18山河隱;將錯就錯,撒手歸來機用齊。臨濟悟黃檗宗J35nB342_p0784b19旨,首山改風穴憂思,摩尼莫喻,連城豈企?上上人最J35nB342_p0784b20貴,中下者不知,明明道破,的的全施。期九十日,日十J35nB342_p0784b21二時,無分南北,莫辨東西,瞥然省得,不受人欺。執本J35nB342_p0784b22現成,猶是得少為足,須喫痛棒,大叫土廣人稀。」連卓J35nB342_p0784b23拄杖,云:「還委悉麼?屋北鹿獨宿,溪西雞齊啼。」
J35nB342_p0784b24光燦、光鮮請上堂。舉:「昔日有一婆子到趙州齋僧次,J35nB342_p0784b25向前指云:『者一堂僧總是婆生底,只大底兒子不孝。』J35nB342_p0784b26趙州纔顧視,婆便出去。今老僧住華巖三載,光鮮婆J35nB342_p0784b27子頻頻請益,雖未有如是機緣,而弘護求道之心不J35nB342_p0784b28在趙州婆子之下。設使光鮮翻轉面皮,突出人前,亦J35nB342_p0784b29向道:『者一堂僧總是婆所生,只有大底不孝。』老僧作J35nB342_p0784b30麼生下得一轉語?一與目前增光、二與趙州出氣。」遂J35nB342_p0784c01起身作女人拜,云:「兒孫自有兒孫事,祖父從來不出J35nB342_p0784c02門。」
J35nB342_p0784c03長至後,上堂。「爐香多誦兩▆字,一線工夫日日加,萬J35nB342_p0784c04物無心承雨露,陽回依舊木敷花。」舉雪峰岩頭末後J35nB342_p0784c05句機緣畢,云:「岩頭以同生不同死為末後句,者僧被J35nB342_p0784c06他熱瞞,後來者僧,天下人還奈他何?不奈他何?今無J35nB342_p0784c07私吾兄、渠也吾姪,昔與德玉同參,同條生又同條死,J35nB342_p0784c08德玉只憾他二老不與玉道末後句,若與玉道末後J35nB342_p0784c09句,天下人亦不奈德玉何,免出斯醜。者事且止,及節J35nB342_p0784c10應時如何通信?荷盡已無擎雨蓋,菊殘猶有傲霜枝。」
J35nB342_p0784c11元旦,上堂。「九淵參敏樹法兄、雲幻法兄有年而未染J35nB342_p0784c12旨,來華岩一冬,于老僧棒頭喝下稍有入處,老僧勘J35nB342_p0784c13以女子入定機緣,淵與老僧一拳,老僧便打,淵擬議,J35nB342_p0784c14老僧又打。淵云:『誰家不愛子孫賢?』老僧彼時痛與一J35nB342_p0784c15頓,搭卻不錄。淵至夜深復入方丈,老僧向他道:『大機J35nB342_p0784c16大用即不無,入理深談未夢見在。』淵躍然喜,遂請老J35nB342_p0784c17僧上堂,只將搭卻機緣敘說一上,借花獻佛,兼賀大J35nB342_p0784c18眾新年,別無法說。」
J35nB342_p0784c19雪林、還初二上座請上堂。大眾纔集定,雪林白槌,云:J35nB342_p0784c20「吾宗無語句。」師便下座,歸方丈。
J35nB342_p0784c21解制,上堂。「百日禪期業已終,解開布袋欲何從?」遂卓J35nB342_p0784c22拄杖,云:「過頭拄杖隨身執,請續後句。若續得,即續;若J35nB342_p0784c23續不得,待汝諸人到報恩寺為諸人續。」拽拄杖,下座。
重慶府報恩禪寺語錄一期四則
J35nB342_p0784c25壬子孟春望六日,渝城眾鄉紳耆庶暨舊住持超淪J35nB342_p0784c26請師入院。
J35nB342_p0784c27三門。「恢基已久,門庭不設,如斯為人,卻也直捷。」
J35nB342_p0784c28佛殿。「是乾屎橛、是麻三斤,日面、月面,即心、非心,新報J35nB342_p0784c29恩到來,覿面相逢又作麼生?」
J35nB342_p0784c30方丈。喝一喝,云:「一言既出,駟馬難追;一機纔發,萬牛J35nB342_p0785a01莫回。擒虎兕、定龍蛇句分付阿誰?」復喝一喝。
J35nB342_p0785a02當日,眾紳士請上堂。拈疏,云:「文韜武略,擲地作金聲;J35nB342_p0785a03江漢秋陽,翻空成玉露。大眾!見麼?」請維那宣過,指法J35nB342_p0785a04座,云:「溈山左脅書字,嬾菴收放索頭,更有寒山、拾得,J35nB342_p0785a05卻都是我同儔。」遂以右手理袈裟,左手將拄杖安頭J35nB342_p0785a06上,云:「新報恩披毛戴角,入他者一夥群隊去也。」遂陞。
J35nB342_p0785a07拈香祝聖畢,末後拈香,云:「此一瓣香,蒙山言下知音,J35nB342_p0785a08大隨钁頭斸得,此乃第二回拈出,爇向爐中,耑為傳J35nB342_p0785a09臨濟正宗第三十一世破山先師,用酬法乳之恩。」斂J35nB342_p0785a10衣敷坐。維那白槌,云:「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」問:「如J35nB342_p0785a11何是報恩境?」師云:「真武山上鐵圍竿。」進云:「如何是報J35nB342_p0785a12恩人?」師云:「眉橫鼻直。」進云:「人境且置,入院慶賞一句J35nB342_p0785a13作麼生?」師云:「一炷清香古柏根,願祝當今無量壽。」進J35nB342_p0785a14云:「師子窟中無異獸,象王行處絕狐蹤。」師云:「帶累三J35nB342_p0785a15軍,將頭不猛。」進云:「西河師子,字水出頭。」師云:「文殊來J35nB342_p0785a16也。」乃云:「予本林間人,藏拙而自守,無端眾檀那,三請J35nB342_p0785a17出山口,草鞋套腳下,拄杖橫肩負,到來陞此床,一旦J35nB342_p0785a18揚斯醜,不惑亂人天,敢鈍置諸友,各與三十棒,永光J35nB342_p0785a19臨濟後。」喝一喝。復舉:「朱行軍入南際院,自行香云:『直J35nB342_p0785a20這是,直這是。』時有一僧問云:『直這是,是箇甚麼?』軍便J35nB342_p0785a21喝。僧云:『行軍幸是佛法中人,惡發作麼?』軍云:『你作惡J35nB342_p0785a22發會那?』僧便喝,軍亦喝,云:『鉤在不疑之地。』呼左右:『認J35nB342_p0785a23取者僧著。』」師云:「你看他二人,一縱、一奪,一殺、一活,發J35nB342_p0785a24明臨濟宗旨,古今罕有。今日超淪暨眾檀那三番四J35nB342_p0785a25番來華岩迎請,老僧辭之不獲,只欲老僧來此、住此,J35nB342_p0785a26興揚佛法,建立雙桂老人宗旨,亦是古今罕有。且道:J35nB342_p0785a27一念萬年,始終不變一句作麼生道?碧玉磨成西子J35nB342_p0785a28骨,黃金鑄就伍員心。」維那復白槌,云:「諦觀法王法,法J35nB342_p0785a29王法如是。」
J35nB342_p0785a30結制,光裕、光雲請上堂。「長期短限作甚麼?坐禪坐佛J35nB342_p0785b01事何多?打牛打車君如會,誰把磚來石上磨?車若不J35nB342_p0785b02行,打車即是?打牛即是?」問:「十方諸國土,無剎不現身。J35nB342_p0785b03身作麼生現?」師云:「龍門皓月映長空。」乃云:「一日之計J35nB342_p0785b04在乎寅,一年之計在乎春,一生之計在乎勤。勤箇甚J35nB342_p0785b05麼?勤深耕淺種,農人之計;勤五經四書,文舉之計;勤J35nB342_p0785b06馳馬試劍,武舉之計;勤貿易貨殖,經商之計;勤闢土J35nB342_p0785b07地而撫四夷,國王、王子、大臣之計。今日現前檀越當J35nB342_p0785b08期請主,決不是如上所說之計。計在於何在?要將報J35nB342_p0785b09恩寺中荊棘化為赭堊、瓦礫翻成梵宮,令老僧日日J35nB342_p0785b10陞于此座,演揚臨濟正法眼藏,使人人鼻孔遼天、箇J35nB342_p0785b11箇腳跟點地,咸悟上上一乘,生生世世不受閻家老J35nB342_p0785b12子所羅縶,以滿百劫千生之計,計在斯也。百劫千生J35nB342_p0785b13之計在乎甚麼?在乎最初。最初一句作麼生道?玅舞J35nB342_p0785b14必當誇遍拍,三台須是大家催。」
J35nB342_p0785b15仲春花朝,上堂。「澗濁江清,斷岸全消雪路;春和日煖,J35nB342_p0785b16滿山復露燒痕。晴月何常有心?一夜之間晒開桃紅J35nB342_p0785b17李白。朝風原來無意,剎那之際吹綻柳眼桑包。百草J35nB342_p0785b18萌芽,萬蟲闢戶,情與無情,熾然而說,說無間歇。僧之J35nB342_p0785b19與俗,立地而聽。聽箇甚麼?不見道:心隨萬境轉,轉處J35nB342_p0785b20實能幽,隨流認得性,無喜亦無憂。生機一路,到者田J35nB342_p0785b21地也大難得,打麵還他州土麥,唱歌須是帝鄉人。」
J35nB342_p0785b22浴佛,上堂。「天下叢林商量浩浩地評題初生公案,多J35nB342_p0785b23是與雲門作主。雲門要打殺悉達,何嘗作不得主?報J35nB342_p0785b24恩今日要與悉達作主,使雲門有捧無下手處。」驀拈J35nB342_p0785b25拄杖,卓一下,云:「大眾!會麼?悉達生也。摩耶夫人即今J35nB342_p0785b26在甚麼處?」遂起身,倚拄杖而立,云:「每憶獨丁難遠害,J35nB342_p0785b27從教千子一胞胎。」連卓拄杖,下座。
J35nB342_p0785b28解制,上堂。舉:「藥山陞座,默然而坐,大眾纔集定,藥山J35nB342_p0785b29便下座。」師云:「藥山恁麼,銀山鐵壁鍼劄不入,雖是識J35nB342_p0785b30法者懼,要且太險絕生。報恩則不然,道火怕燒著口J35nB342_p0785c01耶?今日與諸人八字打開,合水和泥去也。還委悉麼?J35nB342_p0785c02普請大眾,華岩耘秧。」拽拄杖,下座。

J35nB342_p0785c04壬子孟冬望日,結制,上堂。祝聖畢,末後拈香,云:「此一J35nB342_p0785c05瓣香乃天華棒頭、二祖拳頭,忍痛已久,拈來爇向爐J35nB342_p0785c06中,奉為雙桂堂上傳臨濟正宗第三十一世破山先J35nB342_p0785c07師,用酬法乳之恩。」斂衣敷座。上首白槌竟,師云:「眼如J35nB342_p0785c08黑漆,明察秋毫;耳似卷荷,聰聞蟻鬥。根根明鏡,塵塵J35nB342_p0785c09止水,一攝一切、一切攝一,融通三際,含褁十虛,法爾J35nB342_p0785c10如然,神通玅用,不假修造,本自現成。只為汝等有生J35nB342_p0785c11之後,眼隨色變、耳逐聲移,情塵妄想日積膠固,故有J35nB342_p0785c12長期、短限,漸修、頓悟之規,非老僧特地妄為,強向空J35nB342_p0785c13裏畫眉、盂上安柄也。還會麼?劍為不平離寶匣,藥因J35nB342_p0785c14救病出金瓶。」上首復白槌竟,下座。
J35nB342_p0785c15長至,上堂。問:「陰向鼻端滅,陽從眼裏生。如何是滅句?」J35nB342_p0785c16師云:「一氣不言含有象。」進云:「如何是生句?」師云:「萬靈J35nB342_p0785c17何處謝無私?」進云:「如何是不生不滅句?」師云:「無言可J35nB342_p0785c18答,無理可伸。」進云:「恁麼則乾坤有眼,大海無波也。」師J35nB342_p0785c19云:「八方霢霂無為化,四海歌謠樂太平。」僧禮拜,師乃J35nB342_p0785c20云:「履長之慶亂如麻,至日閉關卻較些。灰盡全心無J35nB342_p0785c21剝復,纔生一念看飛葭。」
J35nB342_p0785c22上堂。「昨日光菂云:『來日是弟子母難之辰,請和尚開J35nB342_p0785c23甘露門,慈悲利濟。』老僧向他道:『你父母未生前道一J35nB342_p0785c24句來。』士無語,老僧云:『明日陞座與你說破。』今日故陞J35nB342_p0785c25於此座,舉似大眾,大家證明。父母未生前句子,與君J35nB342_p0785c26拈出記須牢。二郎關上瑤芝秀,帕子岩前碧樹高。」
J35nB342_p0785c27新戒真壽請上堂。「高沙彌拂袖而去,從空放下;盧行J35nB342_p0785c28者網中跳出,就地升高。不入者保社,膏肓不少;向者J35nB342_p0785c29裡去,頭上安頭。兩者俱全,一體不成二佛;拈一放一,J35nB342_p0785c30如何脫盡廉纖?既是行者得衣缽於黃梅,因甚卻於J35nB342_p0786a01智光受戒?了達本來無一物,何妨錦上更鋪華?」
J35nB342_p0786a02光常請上堂。問:「放去天雨四花,收來地搖六震。如何J35nB342_p0786a03是禪?」師云:「塗山高。」進云:「滿目盡是青山綠水。如何是J35nB342_p0786a04道?」師云:「字水深。」進云:「自性了然。如何是佛?」師云:「頭上J35nB342_p0786a05安頭。」進云:「三藏拈向一邊。如何是法?」師云:「斬頭覓活。」J35nB342_p0786a06進云:「禪道、佛法既爾分明,如何保任?」師云:「饑喫飯,困J35nB342_p0786a07打眠。」進云:「任麼則錦上鋪花去也。」師云:「漳州橘皮莫J35nB342_p0786a08當火,枯木岩前岐路多。」乃云:「閉門打睡,接上上機;顧J35nB342_p0786a09鑑嚬呻,曲為中下。只如魯祖見人來便面壁去,是接J35nB342_p0786a10上上機耶?是曲為中下耶?老僧恁麼舉,卻有兩意:一J35nB342_p0786a11薦光常之母生天成佛、二祝光常之壽山高水長。魯J35nB342_p0786a12祖面壁意旨果只如此耶?向下文長,付在來日。」
J35nB342_p0786a13解制,上堂。「梅子兮脫胎,柳眼兮乍開。征夫兮出戶,農J35nB342_p0786a14人兮歸來。春雨如膏兮石頭路滑,君等且住住兮免J35nB342_p0786a15怨草鞋。」
J35nB342_p0786a16中秋,明玄師請上堂。「體露金風萬象如,松蘿無影映J35nB342_p0786a17山居,當臺一鏡分明甚,照徹諸人肝膽。無有,即出來J35nB342_p0786a18大家證據。」問:「萬古長空,一朝風月,畢竟是甚麼意?」師J35nB342_p0786a19云:「普天匝地。」進云:「月正圓時作麼生賞?」師云:「塞壑填J35nB342_p0786a20溝。」進云:「月落後如何相見?」師云:「非公境界。」僧拂袖歸J35nB342_p0786a21眾。師云:「果然。」乃云:「明玄鏡上人,存心甚廣大,追師及J35nB342_p0786a22薦徒,請吾說佛法。吾說恐不如,拄杖為通達。」遂以拄J35nB342_p0786a23杖打圓相,云:「如是光輝徹四維,翁孫乘此齊超拔。」復J35nB342_p0786a24卓拄杖兩下,下座。
J35nB342_p0786a25心安送法衣,請上堂。「雞足山中埋沒久,大庾嶺上空J35nB342_p0786a26開口。吾徒甚處得將來?自不受持供老朽。老朽披登J35nB342_p0786a27獅子床,人天共證無何有?大端個個解翻騰,無一不J35nB342_p0786a28能獅子吼。」遂驀拈拄杖,召大眾,云:「獅子吼且置,既是J35nB342_p0786a29人天共證,因甚卻又道無何有?」拽拄杖,下座。
J35nB342_p0786a30癸丑冬結制,上堂。「一年一度開爐,今歲期中不如。四J35nB342_p0786b01海禪和雲集,十方檀供稀疏。幸有龍天可恃,不致飲J35nB342_p0786b02水餐荼。珍重!諸人努力蘊飽,趙州曰無,朝參暮參綿J35nB342_p0786b03密,做個鐵鑄丈夫,一日冷灰豆爆,自然列上祖圖。」喝J35nB342_p0786b04一喝。
J35nB342_p0786b05上堂。舉:「龍池幻有傳師祖云:『佛法二字雖不是偶然,J35nB342_p0786b06亦非特意會得,但有箇悟入處。信意拈來,自然貼體;J35nB342_p0786b07隨分道出,自然恰好。』」師驀拈拂子左拂,云:「貼體?不貼J35nB342_p0786b08體?」又以拂子右拂,云:「恰好?不恰好?雖然如是,也須的J35nB342_p0786b09的當當有箇悟入處始得。不然,終是矮子看戲。」
J35nB342_p0786b10冬至,上堂。「空劫已前,承當枯根乾櫱。佛未出世時,會J35nB342_p0786b11取死火寒灰,尚不得一箇、半箇。千兵易得,一將難求。J35nB342_p0786b12他恁麼驢年去,莫守寒岩異草青,坐卻白雲宗不玅。J35nB342_p0786b13大眾!者四轉語,判著?判不著?印光大師將魯祖、南泉、J35nB342_p0786b14老僧、大眾鼻孔一串穿卻,撒向諸人面前了也,莫只J35nB342_p0786b15囫圇吞卻,直須識些子滋味好。」
J35nB342_p0786b16佛宣、佛崇請上堂。問:「雪峰三登投子,九上洞山,如眾J35nB342_p0786b17居士登山涉水到華岩,是同?是別?」師云:「左戒堂。」進云:J35nB342_p0786b18「雪峰後來鰲山成道,眾居士向何處成道?」師云:「右方J35nB342_p0786b19丈。」進云:「雪峰成道,岩頭證盟。眾居士成道,何人證明?」J35nB342_p0786b20師云:「闍黎。」進云:「莫壓良為賤。」師云:「屈煞汝。」乃云:「一日J35nB342_p0786b21一次上堂,佛法漸漸興揚,僧俗如龍若虎,都來直下J35nB342_p0786b22承當。且道:承當箇甚麼承當?四果耶?辟支耶?十聖耶?J35nB342_p0786b23三賢耶?佛耶?祖耶?金屑雖貴,落眼成翳。」
J35nB342_p0786b24解制,徹心請上堂。「有一樁事,對眾舉揚。天纔下雨,地J35nB342_p0786b25便生漿。東南林茂,西北草荒。石橋路滑,嶮巇二郎。通J35nB342_p0786b26霄一路,不許商量。園有剩菜,倉有餘糧。不妨眾廣,坐J35nB342_p0786b27折禪床。兼逢馬亂,又值兵荒。山間林下,且蹔退藏。四J35nB342_p0786b28野無事,一任周行。」
J35nB342_p0786b29浴佛日,崇心師請上堂。「纔生就被雲門打,既長屢遭J35nB342_p0786b30調達欺,自古逮今一毒鼓,斯朝誰不用桴槌?」
J35nB342_p0786c01甲寅冬結制,印光大師請上堂。「世道安危不可量,斯J35nB342_p0786c02須大塊幾滄桑,幸今結制山林下,多得同人共舉揚。」
J35nB342_p0786c03新戒玅樂請上堂。「戒如金剛寶劍,斬恩愛煩惱之利J35nB342_p0786c04刃;戒如踞地師子,迸群狐魔外于他方;戒為入道之J35nB342_p0786c05前茅;戒為袪習之殿後;戒乃生西方公據;戒乃破地J35nB342_p0786c06獄赦書。戒之一法,眾玅之門也。只如祖師門下還用J35nB342_p0786c07得著麼?若用得著,丹霞不應掩耳而去;若用不著,六J35nB342_p0786c08祖不應受戒。智光!還知麼?取淨捨穢者,戒在眼;厭喧J35nB342_p0786c09求寂者,戒在耳;逐臭尋香者,戒在鼻;說是說非者,戒J35nB342_p0786c10在舌;愛暖惡寒者,戒在身;過未習想、現業流注者,戒J35nB342_p0786c11在意;六根紛紜,戒在一心。只如六根不行、一心不亂,J35nB342_p0786c12戒在甚處?」良久,云:「待喫了妙樂齋來與你們說。」
J35nB342_p0786c13三淵師請上堂。「念佛一聲,火急漱口,纔起二見,貶向J35nB342_p0786c14鐵圍。大人境界報君知,承當即便是歟?金屑落眼成J35nB342_p0786c15障翳,好事不如無也。到者裏,忽有人道:『老和尚說得J35nB342_p0786c16盛水不漏,了無一鍼鋒許縫。罅即不無,要契他達磨、J35nB342_p0786c17魯祖、藥山、維摩,不啻鄭州出曹門。』」驀喝一喝,云:「老僧J35nB342_p0786c18正要問你,藥山、維摩置之不論,達磨、魯祖向你道甚J35nB342_p0786c19麼?莫向鬼窟中作活計。」
J35nB342_p0786c20光雲請上堂。「父母未生前,承當咳唾掉臂,也是祖師J35nB342_p0786c21西來意;一念纔生處,覷破妄想情慮,皆鎔化為真心。J35nB342_p0786c22行向者裏行、說向者裏說,現證色身三昧,疾得語言J35nB342_p0786c23陀羅尼。一腳蹋倒塗山,與乾坤而並闊;一喝逆流錦J35nB342_p0786c24水,共髑髏而齊乾。然雖如是,若果見處分明、悟處諦J35nB342_p0786c25當,行合乎說、說合乎行,處處與人為龜、為鑑、拔楔抽J35nB342_p0786c26釘。如其見悟不真、行說不合,不如直下如蚊子上鐵J35nB342_p0786c27牛一般相似,將父母未生前一念纔起處一較較定,J35nB342_p0786c28如印圈契券之無差,下腳不得、開口不得,更穩當也。」J35nB342_p0786c29拽拄杖,下座。
J35nB342_p0786c30元旦,上堂。「時當寒盡春初還,岩斷冰澌溜復潺,惟有J35nB342_p0787a01山僧拄杖子,不隨新舊改容顏。」
J35nB342_p0787a02解制,上堂。問:「楊岐偵慈明於小徑,是何意?」師云:「老僧J35nB342_p0787a03在此二十年不會。」進云:「岐搊住云:『今朝須與我說,不J35nB342_p0787a04說打和尚。』說箇甚麼?」師云:「銀山。」進云:「岐又問:『窄路相J35nB342_p0787a05逢。』慈明荅:『你且躲,我要往那裏去。』且道:向何處去?」師J35nB342_p0787a06云:「鐵壁。」進云:「當時若遇玲瓏漢,劈面攔腮又如何?」師J35nB342_p0787a07云:「也要是箇人始得。」乃云:「從上諸聖無一法與人,老J35nB342_p0787a08僧不怕瞎人眼、不怕諸方檢點,卻有法與人。且道:有J35nB342_p0787a09甚麼法?」遂大展兩手顧維那,那白椎竟,便下座。
J35nB342_p0787a10金薦伯請上堂。以拂子召伯,云:「父母未生前,偪塞虛J35nB342_p0787a11空,無背、無面,無是、無非,無眼、耳、鼻、舌、身、意。及其既生J35nB342_p0787a12也,突出難辨,非聖、非凡,非僧、非俗,無色、聲、香、味、觸、法。J35nB342_p0787a13未生、既生,渾然與琉璃光明法體無以異也。及其少J35nB342_p0787a14而壯、壯而老也,情竇日鑿、念慮時遷,便有六根、六塵、J35nB342_p0787a15六識,萬法樅然,似乎與琉璃光明法體漸覺疏遠。金J35nB342_p0787a16薦伯!你既發無上道心,然琉璃光明燈、供琉璃光明J35nB342_p0787a17佛、念琉璃光明經、求琉璃光明壽、飯琉璃光明僧、祈J35nB342_p0787a18琉璃光明果,老僧不辭為汝說破,只恐你承當不下J35nB342_p0787a19耳。你若承當得下,但將從前所積凡所有相一切頓J35nB342_p0787a20捨,難捨能捨,捨亦復捨,捨黑暗色得光明眼、捨黑暗J35nB342_p0787a21聲得光明耳、捨黑暗香得光明鼻、捨黑暗味得光明J35nB342_p0787a22舌、捨黑暗觸得光明身、捨黑暗法得光明意,如是六J35nB342_p0787a23處既得,則七處、八處、九處、十處、四十九處光明燈燈J35nB342_p0787a24相續、焰焰不絕,八萬四千毫毛孔竅竅竅放大光明,J35nB342_p0787a25灼然與琉璃光明法體無二無別。雖然如是,不可聞J35nB342_p0787a26老僧恁麼告報,便乃坐守長途,不肯歸家穩坐。此是J35nB342_p0787a27化城,終非寶所。設使途路不得力,不若還將父母未J35nB342_p0787a28生前一段光明靠之,如倚天長劍,將第八識奮志一J35nB342_p0787a29刀兩斷,如斬一縷絲相似;如輕帆遇順風,到岸不勞J35nB342_p0787a30彈指頃;如大象渡河,截流而過;如師子哮吼,火急咬J35nB342_p0787b01人。恁麼奮力一回始得。」
J35nB342_p0787b02乙卯冬結制,上堂。「三百六十箇日子,隨他念念與遷J35nB342_p0787b03流,騎聲蓋色全無礙,東去西來得自由。衲僧家氣宇J35nB342_p0787b04如王,腳跟下無紅絲線,舌頭上無十字關,因甚於一J35nB342_p0787b05冬三箇月內有眼盲、有耳聾、有口啞,六不通?」遂卓拄J35nB342_p0787b06杖,云:「只為把柄在老僧手裏。」復打圓相,云:「從今綰就J35nB342_p0787b07冰澌結,直待春和始放開。」
J35nB342_p0787b08楚石請上堂。驀拈拄杖,展手作量勢,云:「大眾!會麼?此J35nB342_p0787b09拄杖長華巖二尺。」便度與侍者。舉:「五祖演上堂,云:『此J35nB342_p0787b10拄杖長老僧一尺。』便下座。華巖看來,不惟只長演祖J35nB342_p0787b11一尺,自圓悟勤、虎丘隆,乃至密雲師翁、雙桂先師俱J35nB342_p0787b12只長一尺,因甚到華巖卻長二尺?養子不及父,家門J35nB342_p0787b13一世衰。」
J35nB342_p0787b14梓匠周崇禮、萬啟富請上堂。「滿腹經綸不自欺,瓊樓J35nB342_p0787b15玉宇我先施,無分貴賤與高下,到處逢人露一絲。」
J35nB342_p0787b16元旦,上堂。以拂子召眾,云:「會麼?三陽開泰日,百戲作J35nB342_p0787b17舞時,禮樂於今密,胭花分外奇。無錢食餛飩,有地折J35nB342_p0787b18松枝,應以裁成道,輔天相地宜。輔相即不無,如何是J35nB342_p0787b19裁成道?」以拂子打几案兩下。
J35nB342_p0787b20彭佛幢等請上堂。「日日爐邊把火圍,不知門外早春J35nB342_p0787b21歸,等閒信步山頭望,雨後梅花帶雪肥。」
J35nB342_p0787b22解制,上堂。問:「春工忙忙,向何處下種?」師云:「腳下。」進云:J35nB342_p0787b23「空劫已前下得麼?」師云:「不顧腳跟三尺水,猶貪縱步J35nB342_p0787b24上高層。」僧便拜,師乃云:「蘭蕙芬芳,鼻孔昂藏,桃李紅J35nB342_p0787b25白,莫被眼惑。蹋破草鞋來,老僧為你說。只如掉頭不J35nB342_p0787b26顧、三搭不回者,作麼生與他說?珍重道傍荊棘刺,休J35nB342_p0787b27教撦破爾衣裳。」
J35nB342_p0787b28佛誕,謝啟祥送緬佛至,請上堂。祝聖問答畢,乃呼謝J35nB342_p0787b29啟祥,云:「此佛豈不是你家中自所供養者,得得持來J35nB342_p0787b30請山僧說法耶?殊不知:此佛在你家中鼻觀十餘年,J35nB342_p0787c01默示向上宗乘,你自不薦,向外馳求,多者一番起倒。」J35nB342_p0787c02遂起身拓起緬佛,云:「大眾!佛生迦毘羅,因甚緬國成J35nB342_p0787c03形?既在緬國成形,因甚又在渝州謝啟祥家出現?既J35nB342_p0787c04在謝家出現,因甚又在山僧手裏?」乃放下,云:「是處是J35nB342_p0787c05慈氏,無門無善財。」復舉:「遵布衲浴佛次,藥山云:『者箇J35nB342_p0787c06從汝浴,還浴得那箇麼?』衲云:『把將那箇來。』藥山休去。」J35nB342_p0787c07師云:「藥山雖爾分星撥兩,要且句裏藏鋒。布衲固然J35nB342_p0787c08截鐵斬釘,未免落他圈套。藥山休去又且如何?有解J35nB342_p0787c09道:識法者懼。有解道:爭之不足,讓之有餘。有解道:欲J35nB342_p0787c10隱彌露。俱不是者箇道理。設使藥山信手拈出,布衲J35nB342_p0787c11又安肯放過?還會藥山意麼?他怕打濕袈裟角。」
J35nB342_p0787c12丙辰冬開爐,金光慧、鄭光選請上堂。「現成爐鞴紅如J35nB342_p0787c13火,仍舊鍵槌辣似姜,珍重銅肝銕膽漢,一回鍛鍊一J35nB342_p0787c14回剛。」
J35nB342_p0787c15上堂。問:「薩婆多云:『若人犯欲,即是佛法邊外人。』是否?」J35nB342_p0787c16師云:「是。」進云:「熒光比丘犯婬,因甚向維摩一言而釋?」J35nB342_p0787c17師云:「是。」進云:「某甲犯律,和尚說何法與某甲懺悔?」師J35nB342_p0787c18云:「道得與你懺悔。」進云:「恁麼則無罪可滅也。」師云:「也J35nB342_p0787c19要你自肯始得。」進云:「文殊有言:『清淨行者不入天堂,J35nB342_p0787c20破戒比丘不入地獄。』」師云:「老僧今日功不浪施。」乃云:J35nB342_p0787c21「是!是!不是!不是!通身是!遍身是!似此之類也。道!道!不J35nB342_p0787c22道!不道!胡亂道!莫亂道!如斯而已乎?寶劍多品,只饒J35nB342_p0787c23解弄、不解殺人,終歸無用。籬根之下,捨得莖草,便殺J35nB342_p0787c24活自由,縱奪可觀者,畢竟是甚麼人?」驀拈拄杖卓兩J35nB342_p0787c25下,云:「腦後見腮,莫與往來。」
J35nB342_p0787c26王仲請上堂。舉:「五祖演上堂,云:『多說不如少說,少說J35nB342_p0787c27不如不說。』便下座。」師云:「一言出口,海墨書之不盡。多J35nB342_p0787c28說也在裏許、少說也在裏許,說也說了,說甚麼不說?J35nB342_p0787c29華岩則不然。」驀拈拂子,云:「要多說就多說,要少說就J35nB342_p0787c30少說,要不說就不說。作麼生是多說?」以拂子搭左肩。J35nB342_p0788a01「作麼生是少說?」以拂子搭右肩。「作麼生是不說?」放下J35nB342_p0788a02拂子。
J35nB342_p0788a03解制,光選請上堂。舉:「鼓山赴大王請,雪峰門送,回至J35nB342_p0788a04法堂,乃云:『一隻聖箭直射向九重城裏去也。』孚上座J35nB342_p0788a05云:『是伊未在。』峰云:『渠是徹底人。』孚云:『若不信,待某甲J35nB342_p0788a06去勘過。』遂趕至中途,問云:『甚處去?』鼓云:『九重城裏去。』J35nB342_p0788a07孚云:『忽遇三軍圍繞時如何?』鼓云:『他家自有通霄路。』J35nB342_p0788a08孚云:『與麼則離宮失殿去也。』鼓云:『何處不稱尊?』孚拂J35nB342_p0788a09袖便回。峰問:『如何?』孚云:『好隻聖箭,中途折卻了也。』遂J35nB342_p0788a10舉前話。峰云:『奴渠語在。』孚云:『者老凍膿猶有鄉情在。』」J35nB342_p0788a11師云:「古人是悟得底禪,所以開口各自作得主宰,咸J35nB342_p0788a12有出身之路。鼓山恁麼道,畢竟那裏是他折箭處?若J35nB342_p0788a13也見得,安南塞北,東擲西拋,八面玲瓏,縱橫無礙;其J35nB342_p0788a14或不見,只恐行到前不搆村、後不抵店之際,平田淺J35nB342_p0788a15草之中跳出一箇沒情面底孚上座,不惟中途折箭,J35nB342_p0788a16只好飲氣吞聲,受他處分有在。」
