J34nB311_p0723b06武夷以奇稱天下,固不待言。虎嘯巖頂有新獲之奇,J34nB311_p0723b07出於三十六峰,此殆世人所未知也。試舉開創之故,J34nB311_p0723b08以自紀其歲月,可乎?此山三十年前,人秪知有虎嘯J34nB311_p0723b09巖。至萬曆壬寅,予麗空翁於巖頂之右得一洞,以搆J34nB311_p0723b10禪室,始知有虎嘯洞。天啟辛酉,吾師東苑和尚囑予J34nB311_p0723b11曰:「此洞是我授業先師骨塔所在,子可棲之。」予受命,J34nB311_p0723b12與普周行公策杖造巔,見此巖壁立萬仞於千峰環J34nB311_p0723b13繞間,如老胡西來,為此方鼻祖,其捧缽傳衣之衲子,J34nB311_p0723b14咸接踵趨承焉。因指其頂之中曰:「此處對千盃渡,可J34nB311_p0723b15建一梵剎。」行公能苦力,輒自握鋤,歷數載,始闢成插J34nB311_p0723b16草之地,此西來巖之所繇名也。崇禎庚午,予乃攜小J34nB311_p0723b17子大銓隱此,以撥草于頂左,復啟一洞,儼發天藏,可J34nB311_p0723b18以坐數六六之奇。予顧銓曰:「異哉!此天授吾與子也。J34nB311_p0723b19右洞既謂虎嘯,左洞不謂之龍吟乎?」前有岩,圓秀可J34nB311_p0723b20摩,配此二洞,三相掩映,其中宮正如洞山之正偏,兼J34nB311_p0723b21帶大覺之三星偃月也,予且自幸獲其全勝矣。不期J34nB311_p0723b22更於抵盡,陡見參天斷崖,如巨靈所擘,其中猶聞瀑J34nB311_p0723b23流淙淙,俯之莫測其底,遂以獨木為橋,如天台石梁,J34nB311_p0723b24雖慣乘險者股慄不敢過。予與銓子直度於峭絕,又J34nB311_p0723b25獲一小石龕懸於立屏之上。寒山子云:「上有安心窟,J34nB311_p0723b26下有定命橋。」今日得之矣。予與二三子磅礡翠微間,J34nB311_p0723b27六時鐘梵每漏逗於九曲之岸,可中有臨風採聽相J34nB311_p0723b28尋於別峰者,我不箕踞巖前遙見其步驟乎?曲岸音、J34nB311_p0723b29別峰客,亦虛中之真景耳。此巖孤峻,絕無攀躋之逕,J34nB311_p0723b30是先祖于劍峽中鑿石接梯而上,故唯一門而復狹J34nB311_p0723c01小,此劍峽梯誠登巖之第一奇也。惟岩峻,故水源亦J34nB311_p0723c02高,枕巔之瀑收而引之,遂為石沼,滴滴不落別處,亦J34nB311_p0723c03可協高山流水之雅調矣。特命十景付囑此山,藍、彭、J34nB311_p0723c04潘、王諸子之唱和自不容己也。客曰:「此山奇則奇矣,J34nB311_p0723c05比之五岳不啻盆中小景、掌上怪石,秪資人翫弄耳。J34nB311_p0723c06師獨戀此,頓忘匡衡之詩謂何?」予曰:「子知文佛示現,J34nB311_p0723c07於華藏不大、于娑婆不小乎?子知鹿野苑為仙人居、J34nB311_p0723c08楞伽峰為夜又宅,佛於此大轉法輪乎?子知五嶽不J34nB311_p0723c09如崑崙、崑崙不如須彌、須彌不如我拄杖乎?吾閩素J34nB311_p0723c10號出祖之鄉、武夷舊稱棲真之域,即影不出山,亦何J34nB311_p0723c11負匡衡之志哉?」客謝曰:「小子幸甚,一遊武夷西來巖J34nB311_p0723c12而茅塞開矣,請記以待來者。」
天臺山植聖寺記
J34nB311_p0723c14楚黃安,僻壤也。自天臺耿先生請命立邑,偕仲叔及J34nB311_p0723c15鄉士夫以性道文禮啟迪一世,於是化行俗美,而天J34nB311_p0723c16下遂指之為小魯國矣。因有出世英偉若鄧豁翁、李J34nB311_p0723c17卓吾、周茶仙輩,咸相繼策杖而遊息焉。復有於此開J34nB311_p0723c18倡蓮漏若喪吾尊宿、心如若無,諸大士高標白社,棋J34nB311_p0723c19布山林,而世人又指之為小樂邦矣。蓮池上首獨守J34nB311_p0723c20開,澹然以禪學自命。聞公曾受知黃檗,澹公嘗親謁J34nB311_p0723c21博山,嚌嚅道真,每聚一處。天啟乙丑,有秦德茂慨然J34nB311_p0723c22以天臺山下一袈裟地,捨二公作阿練若。李文齋首J34nB311_p0723c23開殿宇,而雲門子石雨三倪者,適相與刀耕火種,嘗J34nB311_p0723c24有「三間細雨斜風屋,數畝寒苔瘦石田」之句。耿九一J34nB311_p0723c25先生父子天資超穎,有乃祖父之風,深與聞澹相洽,J34nB311_p0723c26不數載已成小祗林矣。崇禎辛未,聞谷大師入楚,澹J34nB311_p0723c27公特迎山中,遂得吳浙佛像經典之莊嚴,而大師始J34nB311_p0723c28與四眾開導戒法,衲子日漸歸從。亡何,為閩緣強去。J34nB311_p0723c29去年壬申,余有嵩衡之役,道過金陵,澹公正擬撥棹J34nB311_p0723c30閩越,忽交值於天界,遇耿玉齊居士,一見契合,即載J34nB311_p0724a01予同歸此山,因得時與九一先生及守聞諸公商搉J34nB311_p0724a02向上大事,先生欣然獨出手眼,激勵讚揚,及諸縉紳J34nB311_p0724a03君子互相唱酬,不覺已成篇集。四居緇白乘風而起,J34nB311_p0724a04立放生社,背《楞嚴經》,受戒參禪矣。此時機緣,非護法J34nB311_p0724a05不忘付囑,與二公能自留神,則余煢煢椰子,又何足J34nB311_p0724a06以鼓舞振作此一方哉?玉齋袖出馮漸卿書曰:「永嘉J34nB311_p0724a07僧摩大士,今日之雙林善慧也,曾見吾師宗門不自J34nB311_p0724a08欺說,將為不請之友,特來臺山與師作大法喜,惟杖J34nB311_p0724a09頭鏡尺弗指別峰,則亦不負響應之機也。」是夏,若愚J34nB311_p0724a10諸禪徒蹴踏而至,因結制以慰之。復有熏普從匡山J34nB311_p0724a11來,素善泉石,一日坐參之暇,隨余扶策山中,於指顧J34nB311_p0724a12間得八石景,普呼奇絕,乞余留題,彼獨親手描刻諸J34nB311_p0724a13石,余亦目擊天然,各命一號,復係以詩,諸學人輒拍J34nB311_p0724a14手歌詠,如有以助其清機者,怡然請曰:吾師至此,如J34nB311_p0724a15是桴鼓,非偶然也。八景有作,而此山開創所自,可無J34nB311_p0724a16記乎?余頷之,因仰天窩顏植聖寺,以一切聖智皆從J34nB311_p0724a17此種植也。直推原其風教之端,歷述其建化之事,泉J34nB311_p0724a18嗚霞起,鼓吹同時,庶後之住此山、護此法者,讀記詠J34nB311_p0724a19詩,慨然雷奮雲興,大畜山中荷天之衢,則於今時一J34nB311_p0724a20笑豈有隔耶?
西陵龍源記
J34nB311_p0724a22麻城東七十里許有龍潭衝,乃少司馬衡湘梅公之J34nB311_p0724a23遺業也。佳公子惠連熉公今年九月偕諸方外友不J34nB311_p0724a24違師輩登高舒嘯,杖屨周游於龜峰、鷲嶺之間,見其J34nB311_p0724a25山水有靈氣、民俗有淳風,幡然思古人躬耕畎畝以J34nB311_p0724a26樂堯舜之道之意,乃復相尋於龍潭之源。其中峰巒J34nB311_p0724a27峭異、巖壑幽深,輒廓然獻一廣平之地,若發之天藏J34nB311_p0724a28焉。公乃顧違師曰:「此非武陵之桃源、摩詰之輞川乎?」J34nB311_p0724a29違師曰:「是固開闢以來未泄之秘也。乃於此時授公,J34nB311_p0724a30非天有厚望於公乎?」公跫然而喜曰:「有是哉!予將以J34nB311_p0724b01樂天存吾所性而俟命焉可也,師其為我相之。」公即J34nB311_p0724b02植其杖於地曰:「皇天后土為我盟證,以成我此志,庶J34nB311_p0724b03幾不負天之所以與我也。」時諸山禪客與諸村鄰民J34nB311_p0724b04咸聞此風,共相推告曰:「我山主檀越亦藏修游息於J34nB311_p0724b05此乎?我梅家大叔亦隱居求志於此乎?」自是素衣緇J34nB311_p0724b06衲、白叟黃童相與提攜跋涉於岡澗,繹絡不絕。公方J34nB311_p0724b07經營正室、傍建書齋,與諸精舍相為主伴,四向之民J34nB311_p0724b08各來運木迻石、薦芹負糧,協助其事,所有種種不啻J34nB311_p0724b09城市之備也。不三月,基搆創制巋然一新,而欣聲載J34nB311_p0724b10野、聚落安堵,復自相勉勵曰:「吾儕善為孝友和順之J34nB311_p0724b11行,毋使忤逆麤獷之聲辱我梅大叔也。盍想吾儕歷J34nB311_p0724b12年以來,日惟荒亂是畏、劫爭是懼,將無所恃此勞生J34nB311_p0724b13矣。今何幸大叔至此,賴其德惠教養,不猶鯤鯢蝦蟹J34nB311_p0724b14之遇溟渤,非特有所托命,抑且逍遙乎相忘於化育J34nB311_p0724b15矣。」噫!吾儕將效華封而三祝矣。吾之所以祝大叔,正J34nB311_p0724b16所以祝吾鄉之民也,吾又安有疇昔之憂於荒亂劫J34nB311_p0724b17爭哉?吾又安有忤逆麤獷之聲色哉?吾且將因大叔J34nB311_p0724b18延諸高僧衲子於此白椎說法,震我山谷,啟我冥頑,J34nB311_p0724b19使天龍寂聽而生忻,虎狼受旨而得度,則吾儕身心J34nB311_p0724b20性命皆有皈依也,又何慮夫土苴糠秕之不變化哉?J34nB311_p0724b21中有長者掀髯而談曰:「此誠不世遇也。然大叔春秋J34nB311_p0724b22方盛,功名富貴日迫,況聖朝側席求賢,不翅饑渴,而J34nB311_p0724b23大叔忠孝根於心性,安忍退藏決不出之策乎?使忽J34nB311_p0724b24而出也,則吾鄉仍為落寞之地,亦何從而仰望之耶?J34nB311_p0724b25猶今邑中鄉紳宰輔,雖冠蓋如雲,任朝廷治政之不J34nB311_p0724b26暇,亦何及此巖穴之隱昧哉?」復有一少年挺然出席,J34nB311_p0724b27鞠躬而應曰:「是不然。夫諸大老雖未嘗親涉吾境,而J34nB311_p0724b28懸設身為吾謀者,固有不可測也。茲大叔既身歷其J34nB311_p0724b29境,心切其情,則其所過者化,所存者神,使異日奮庸J34nB311_p0724b30得志,不特能擴充此鄉,即天下可兼矣。獨不憶當日J34nB311_p0724c01先司馬公之處鄉黨,與朝邊之成勣乎?」長者曰:「異哉!J34nB311_p0724c02吾徒有此耆也。子可謂能有年矣。即今日觀大叔之J34nB311_p0724c03風教,有如草偃,則他日潛養變見,非吾儕所得而端J34nB311_p0724c04倪也。」予當此時,亦訪公於龍潭,坐於會源石上,忍俊J34nB311_p0724c05不禁,振衣而起,執公手曰:「公非靈山之付囑者,安能J34nB311_p0724c06自致於苦空寂寞之濱,而大作此不世之奇特乎?」違J34nB311_p0724c07師曰:「吾大師幸以鉗鎚之手,援筆為記,并為我歌揚J34nB311_p0724c08此緣,以作法施,俾異日者,臺閣山林,同心斷金,信乎J34nB311_p0724c09無二道也。」余乃應聲扣石而歌曰:「楚山高兮瞻衡陽,J34nB311_p0724c10楚水深兮睨瀟湘。誰其人兮可比量,克肖自命天頡J34nB311_p0724c11頏。屢世閥閱冠縉裳,生氣凜凜恩邊疆。其子公然熉J34nB311_p0724c12而光,天資粹美如鸞凰。砥柱中流果自強,浮華膴爵J34nB311_p0724c13何秕糠。好古敏學熊膽嘗,尚友慕義寐不遑。從容去J34nB311_p0724c14就慨而慷,金剛斷玉成琮璜。老天報施無弗償,夢麟J34nB311_p0724c15吞日時所當。錦帶居士玉藻藏,澄潭九曲清肝腸。野J34nB311_p0724c16人衲子同齋莊,採取孺子歌滄浪。瓶鵝喏喏呼欲狂,J34nB311_p0724c17笑看庭前花孕香。春生大地皆文章,一點水墨龍兩J34nB311_p0724c18驤。鹽梅霖雨齊稱觴,端以我今為之倡。」
齊頭山水晶寺復山記
J34nB311_p0724c20六安齊頭山水晶寺,梁武帝為寶誌公敕建者。是山J34nB311_p0724c21昂然如踞地獅,其光熊熊於中,幽密森嚴,不啻文殊J34nB311_p0724c22之小清涼也。地接南北,途通水陸,有把斷要津、收放J34nB311_p0724c23凡聖之勢焉。當宗門鼎盛時,如二祖、三祖之舒皖,四J34nB311_p0724c24祖、五祖之蘄梅,與夫浮山、投子諸處,皆在襟帶照映J34nB311_p0724c25間,登巔長嘯,震驚列剎,固相望也。中峰本國師尚有J34nB311_p0724c26庵基在絕峭菁處,其廣錄之住六安山十詠,正寄跡J34nB311_p0724c27此耳。至正斷碑儼然,其山場之廣與靜室之多,幾周J34nB311_p0724c28數百里,今僅存此由旬之界,猶屬它人為恒產矣。萬J34nB311_p0724c29曆末年,桐城吳本如司馬深願重興,何芝岳相國、吳J34nB311_p0724c30觀我太史出廣長舌、伸毋陀手為之激揚提持,遂得J34nB311_p0725a01舒皖。曉空賢公、修竹彬公矢死戮力,誓恢復之,蹋翻J34nB311_p0725a02鳩巢,奪回龍窟,古風接待,鐘鼓肅然,雖地未盡歸,而J34nB311_p0725a03遠近相指如表焉。崇禎庚午,特請博山大師重立法J34nB311_p0725a04幢,值師遷化,乃與觀我太史議推鹿門法師蒞此,適J34nB311_p0725a05鹿門會予於穎,正追罷講,聞角之風,不肯自任,竟致J34nB311_p0725a06書太史彬公曰:「此古祖道場,非真具手眼足以振作J34nB311_p0725a07一世者,孰能當齊頭哉?今有夢筆浪師親承壽昌滴J34nB311_p0725a08乳,方在穎州伸指中原,倘能延主,吾必贊襄,使此水J34nB311_p0725a09晶宗風大播縣宇,則吾與諸公之願不倍酬乎?」彬公J34nB311_p0725a10聞此大喜,即與諸護法合力來請,予方決志造嵩,不J34nB311_p0725a11意寇亂,公即拏舟挽歸山中,乃自敘其生平,恨為外J34nB311_p0725a12緣所累,急欲委謝脫手,作一輸心爐鎚之人,屬予紀J34nB311_p0725a13其復山之緣,以俟創繼,予亦感公體信之深,敢漠置J34nB311_p0725a14耶?時為楚、黃、李、梅諸公所邀,因略述之,以告後來,毋J34nB311_p0725a15忘前人苦心也。
湯開先別號黃巖記
J34nB311_p0725a17袁石公云:「人而無癖,則語言無味,面目可憎。」然則其J34nB311_p0725a18所謂癖,癖于奇也。黃茆白葦,彌望汩汩,安得一奇而J34nB311_p0725a19驚醒之?奇以拔萃而言,癖以專好而言。山水無人情,J34nB311_p0725a20而與高曠之士相合,有好之者,取以自命,是性命以J34nB311_p0725a21之矣。奇哉!奇哉!季雲子生于臨川,出于湯氏,名以開J34nB311_p0725a22先,別號黃巖。其父母未生前,已先尋一奇路而投奇J34nB311_p0725a23胎,儼然為若士之奇男矣。若士公以奇才奇識,超超J34nB311_p0725a24乎方之內也。季雲不肯自負其先人,命以匡廬之開J34nB311_p0725a25先,故又命號以開先之黃巖。其身雖在風雅場中,其J34nB311_p0725a26心實在煙霞物外。世人徒見其神清秋月,韻入春花,J34nB311_p0725a27孰知其夙生之癖于奇所使然乎?東林之館,四山之J34nB311_p0725a28響,北窗之絃,香爐之記,何非靈山之花,嵩少之壁耶?J34nB311_p0725a29癖固病也,士生末世,有病為貴。古人癖于拔俗,而又J34nB311_p0725a30拔其拔焉。先迷後得,不癖不迷,但視其所癖何事耳。J34nB311_p0725b01今人無拔俗之志,而庸庸多厚福,日尸祝之,反假藥J34nB311_p0725b02言以詆奇士之病,又安知湯公之癖于匡廬之開先?J34nB311_p0725b03黃巖許身山川,以孝不匱,是何旨趣哉?予因譚擬陶J34nB311_p0725b04之癖于淵明者,屬予為湯黃巖記,則亦同癖相憐,難J34nB311_p0725b05免獵喜,故無辭于以病為藥,而一笑記之。
小龍華山中方寺記
J34nB311_p0725b07皖桐之南有山,號大龍、小龍。小龍之華山、黃連山,踞J34nB311_p0725b08銜桐湖之口。華山之中有阿垂方,即古隱龍菴也。菴J34nB311_p0725b09所自來遠矣,其廢已久。萬曆時,有苦行阿練若游方J34nB311_p0725b10至此,遇林氏,捨其地與自募建,四眾感動,為之運木J34nB311_p0725b11塹石,遂成庵院。時聞古心和尚傳律,乃藉何芝岳相J34nB311_p0725b12國、吳觀我太史延之開戒,至於千僧,衣缽登壇,自茲J34nB311_p0725b13庵中以持戒修淨業為儀範。天啟間,吳本如開府請J34nB311_p0725b14敕賜為中方禪寺。及其徒證無主事,聞博山先大師J34nB311_p0725b15將至桐,即趨迎於山中,留五日,作法喜游。先師乃指J34nB311_p0725b16示修造之法,謂此可成叢林。近來數年,屢遭兵荒,庵J34nB311_p0725b17舍漸為頹落。今戊子春,予適在浮山,證公乃率徒開J34nB311_p0725b18遠輩恭迎至山休夏,為諸子授戒,樅陽諸居士亦多J34nB311_p0725b19於此問法。予登山眺望,樅陽為案,大小龍為屏,鹿湖、J34nB311_p0725b20梅嶺諸湖匯之七十二螺,點綴几席之下,洵隱龍之J34nB311_p0725b21地也。證公與諸子感激,必欲通方仁植中丞,諸護法J34nB311_p0725b22以此中方交授,請予令人主之。予以潛行無多從者,J34nB311_p0725b23亦何能代為之理哉?但得一日在山,即與之議千古J34nB311_p0725b24不易之法,則庶幾矣。中方藏圓,周邊作範,巍巍堂堂,J34nB311_p0725b25非以大小限也。此山殿宇,纍層登頓,而橫翼甚寬,連J34nB311_p0725b26絡周楹,則亦可成余小選聖圖矣。酇侯為漢高刱,平J34nB311_p0725b27陽為酇侯守,世謂刱守異才,其實本行願品,久則感J34nB311_p0725b28通,而大小依法,自然乘裕十幢十林,詎謂一心行布,J34nB311_p0725b29可須臾離耶?證公請予記其事,用泐諸石。予曰:「中方J34nB311_p0725b30已有何相國之碑、吳太史之文,足以光千古矣,何復J34nB311_p0725c01贅乎?但記杖人曾來華山,周旋一月,指出中方藏圓,J34nB311_p0725c02為大小龍開此勝因可也,將來必有人發揮者。」
武夷石屏巖塔塔地記
J34nB311_p0725c04吾師東苑和尚,向隱武夷石屏巖,為人孤峻,衲子無J34nB311_p0725c05能親依,獨二行者服勤。庚午七月,欲示寂,先指石屏J34nB311_p0725c06下地曰:「我死,須葬於此。」俄大笑一聲而逝。行者走於J34nB311_p0725c07建陽,報其侄甥輩,遂厝師於指處。三月後,盛於建州J34nB311_p0725c08始聞訃,及奔至山,而靜室皆空,行者亦去矣。盛登穴J34nB311_p0725c09禮拜,雖不知堪輿,亦覺奇異,遂作奠章,并托人守護。J34nB311_p0725c10自以時機未至,當以行道,始不負祖父付囑也。庚辰,J34nB311_p0725c11黃元公與盛擬遷靈骨到壽昌,及同到山,見三十六J34nB311_p0725c12峰之秀,九曲來朝之奇,公乃驚曰:「此殆天授也。雖為J34nB311_p0725c13天下三十六洞天之仙地,既有三教峰,而大隱屏為J34nB311_p0725c14朱文公得,今石屏之逆龍為東苑和尚得,豈非山靈J34nB311_p0725c15之有待乎?」因相與作祭文以表之。武夷從來無宗門J34nB311_p0725c16人,今得先和尚靈塔在此,則武夷開山第一祖也。公J34nB311_p0725c17後更為塔銘,特揭明之。不期時世多變,至太平時,乃J34nB311_p0725c18托建州太守吳公、崇安令殷公為先師造窣堵波及J34nB311_p0725c19塔院,又為兵火所焚。前年,因余繼泉嫡孫興標者相J34nB311_p0725c20從於博山剃落,命往重搆石屏塔院,僅為草屋。彼偶J34nB311_p0725c21於先師族姪處得石屏放閒集,又於彼俗家得玉函J34nB311_p0725c22秘要,有涅槃和尚鈐記曰:「武夷久作神仙府,更應興J34nB311_p0725c23王崇世儒,三教中峰能迥拔,西坤逆有臥龍居。」曰:「此J34nB311_p0725c24中當歷世出諸聖祖,在逆龍為最奇也。」乃詫異此地J34nB311_p0725c25與彼鈐記券合,特持於夢筆,盛甚怪之。風水之理甚J34nB311_p0725c26微,雖有稱贊者,皆浮誇之辭,未足信也。況世間功名J34nB311_p0725c27美器,造物不與人全,余何人,敢掠天之功,謬為己有,J34nB311_p0725c28不亦重損其德乎?即今有司馬頭陀指百丈、溈山為J34nB311_p0725c29萬世祖庭,文矩禪師指雪峰為千古法窟,與武夷為J34nB311_p0725c30三教聖地,亦必於後世始信其說。如九曲、龍潭之出J34nB311_p0726a01趙王,與大隱屏之出文公,此雖可信,而西坤之宅何J34nB311_p0726a02敢據為必在此耶?盛不肖,不能親守師塔,罪莫此大。J34nB311_p0726a03今特命敏之訥子歸武夷,以奉祀石屏先師塔,乃引J34nB311_p0726a04前事以鼓其志趣,使始終堅密,成就祖庭,安知後世J34nB311_p0726a05不以成驗為此記之不謬,以遺厥遠嗣哉?己亥春日,J34nB311_p0726a06不肖盛書於皋亭鶴飛處。

J34nB311_p0726a08偶有箇沒巴鼻漢來,求作破皮鞋記。杖人曰:「破皮鞋J34nB311_p0726a09有何可取而記之乎?」曰:「無可取也。以此鞋是達磨所J34nB311_p0726a10遺,遮一隻於熊耳山定林寺,深恐此土人以為西天J34nB311_p0726a11所遺者為詫異,竊去而作怪,故求大手筆記之,以防J34nB311_p0726a12閑也。」杖人曰:「何於今乃求記而防閑之乎?」「正以今時J34nB311_p0726a13事窮故也。昔老達磨無端得得而來,自謂不立文字,J34nB311_p0726a14教外別傳,乃見梁武帝只道得一箇廓然無聖與對J34nB311_p0726a15面不識,便渡蘆過江去。若後之好事而作宗旨者,只J34nB311_p0726a16這一則便可作也,何必面壁立雪,何必安心得髓,何J34nB311_p0726a17必脫身遺履,而後立宗旨哉?雖然,若非彼時斷臂人J34nB311_p0726a18以安心得髓遮則為一花開五葉之宗旨,則前所見J34nB311_p0726a19武帝與渡蘆、與面壁、與立雪、與後遺履,節節皆可作J34nB311_p0726a20宗旨者,有誰能記之,以附會於傳佛心印為標宗立J34nB311_p0726a21旨哉?」杖人曰:「既有彼斷臂人記之,能使後人附會為J34nB311_p0726a22宗旨,則妙有不可測者在矣,又何獨於破皮鞋而防J34nB311_p0726a23閑之乎?」曰:「非防閑此破皮鞋也,蓋防閑歷世之久,宗J34nB311_p0726a24旨窮時,或竊此所遺之物以作怪也。」杖人曰:「若能竊J34nB311_p0726a25破皮鞋而作怪,則天下如河洛經史與三藏五宗及J34nB311_p0726a26木頭碌磚之類,無有不可竊之而作怪也,又何能令J34nB311_p0726a27杖人一一記而防閑之乎?」曰:「不見彼渾沌乎?偶與倏J34nB311_p0726a28忽善,厚為穿鑿之,七日而渾沌死,則此鞋雖已被人J34nB311_p0726a29竊去,尚不知彼欲竊去作怪耶?或彼恐人詫異,故先J34nB311_p0726a30竊去以滅其跡耶?故須預作記以防閑之,以免後來J34nB311_p0726b01如倏忽亦穿鑿使之死也。」杖人咄曰:「天下豈有未痒J34nB311_p0726b02先搔者乎?若真渾沌,倏忽豈能鑿死哉?鑿得死者,一J34nB311_p0726b03任鑿之,何足惜乎?彼果鑿不死,即汝沒巴鼻漢強欲J34nB311_p0726b04為彼防閑,卻是無端為破皮鞋穿鑿,與西天達磨一J34nB311_p0726b05狀領過也。汝以間事長無明者,罪又浮於達磨之無J34nB311_p0726b06端遺此毒于我東土矣。若我東土有真本色漢,自不J34nB311_p0726b07為達磨所惑亂,豈復為彼所遺之破皮鞋所惑亂,而J34nB311_p0726b08待汝為之防閑乎?」乃以杖將此沒巴鼻漢逐出,復大J34nB311_p0726b09笑曰:「我雖不為他破皮鞋作記,如此沒巴鼻漢真是J34nB311_p0726b10毒物,卻須借此作記以防閑之耳。」
