師自金陵回止天寧首座寮時方丈久虛眾請開法J40nB491_p0475a05因就僧堂中設座指座云:「曲彔木床寶華王座是恁J40nB491_p0475a06麼人須恁麼坐」。喝一喝陞座拈香祝 聖罷次拈香J40nB491_p0475a07:「此一瓣香八面玲瓏全無縫罅受雨露不越今時J40nB491_p0475a08歷風霜偏從劫外秪因貴重值娑婆佛祖不曾輕著J40nB491_p0475a09且道不作賤不作貴一句作麼生發賣?」拈起香云J40nB491_p0475a10供養前住香嚴臨濟二十五代吉菴和尚貴圖恩怨J40nB491_p0475a11分明不願續他宗派。」就坐乃云:「世尊為開示一切眾J40nB491_p0475a12生本來佛性故出現于世三百餘會隨諸眾生根器J40nB491_p0475a13所宜漸說頓說密說顯說直說喻說包羅該括無法J40nB491_p0475a14不備若論本來佛性掉棒打月畢竟不曾著到譬如J40nB491_p0475a15箇傳神相似雖傳得面目態度儼然如生而動作謦J40nB491_p0475a16咳實不能也末後在靈山會上拈起一枝花的的相J40nB491_p0475a17當時百萬人天一齊罔措唯迦葉尊者霍然領悟J40nB491_p0475a18破顏微笑不措一辭世尊深慶本懷乃言:『吾以清淨J40nB491_p0475a19法眼涅槃妙心實相無相微妙正法將付於汝汝當J40nB491_p0475a20護持無令斷絕。』自後祖祖相傳師師相授西天四七J40nB491_p0475a21東土二三以至五宗鼎沸列剎悠分自古迄今凡據J40nB491_p0475a22師位荷擔佛法之士無有不是將這本來佛性離名J40nB491_p0475a23離相絕思絕議直截指示令人悟入者也是法平等J40nB491_p0475a24無有高下當知本來佛性愚人與哲人平等惡人與J40nB491_p0475a25善人平等乞丐人與巨富人平等廝養人與尊貴人J40nB491_p0475a26平等博地凡夫乃至蠢動含靈直下與三世諸佛J40nB491_p0475a27代祖師無不平等但為無明妄想種種顛倒積劫以J40nB491_p0475a28深埋厚障致有六道升沈千差萬別然而本來佛J40nB491_p0475a29未嘗不在各各當人應緣遇物處堂堂出現也J40nB491_p0475a30南天竺國異見王嘗與波羅提尊者論佛性義乃問J40nB491_p0475b01佛性作用幾處出現?』波羅提尊者對曰:『若出現時J40nB491_p0475b02有其八在胎為身處世名人在眼曰見在耳曰聞J40nB491_p0475b03鼻辨香在口談論在手執捉在足運奔遍現俱該沙J40nB491_p0475b04收攝在一微塵識者知是佛性不識喚作精魂。』J40nB491_p0475b05聞說心即開悟且道作麼生是異見王悟處?」舉拄J40nB491_p0475b06杖召大眾云:「見麼?」又卓拄杖云:「聞麼若向這裏會得J40nB491_p0475b07大眾迷的便是異見王悟的異見王悟的便是大眾J40nB491_p0475b08迷的突出無孔鐵鎚打破上牢漆桶更有甚事若道J40nB491_p0475b09佛性在眼處耳處山僧運拄杖處正是業識茫茫J40nB491_p0475b10奴作郎若道佛性不在眼處耳處山僧運拄杖處亦J40nB491_p0475b11是業識茫茫喚奴作郎且道佛性畢竟在甚麼處J40nB491_p0475b12待三門外土山倒卓時卻向汝等說破。」

歲朝示眾。「茲辰日新月新歲新山河大地樓臺林苑J40nB491_p0475b14氣象皆新以至東街西市笙歌隱隱鑼鼓喧喧車馬J40nB491_p0475b15交馳衣冠雜遝雖遊童戲豎長衫大袖莫不皆新J40nB491_p0475b16有衲僧家各各腳跟下本命元辰狼藉在無明妄想J40nB491_p0475b17之中塵封坌裹雖則多方求覓勤苦施功秪增其垢J40nB491_p0475b18不能直下振動發揚斬新呈露盡是沉埋佛種孤負J40nB491_p0475b19惜哉有志丈夫便從今日抖擻藏識中宿熏舊J40nB491_p0475b20染諸惡習氣眼見耳聞諸陳腐語總作一束送放他J40nB491_p0475b21方世界猛將所參公案斬新提起別作一種新年活J40nB491_p0475b22不問一日二日一月二月一季二季乃至窮年J40nB491_p0475b23要這一句無義味話不生滲漏綿綿而參密密而究J40nB491_p0475b24究得到這一念子斬新裂破時缽盂𨁝杖子騰驤J40nB491_p0475b25南斗七北斗六天旋地轉徹底一番新去豈不快哉J40nB491_p0475b26雖然如是且衲僧門下非新非舊這一著兒作麼生J40nB491_p0475b27?」喝一喝下座

佛涅槃日示眾。「世尊於雙林樹下示現涅槃天上人J40nB491_p0475b29龍宮海藏均分舍利起塔供養且道是涅槃耶J40nB491_p0475b30不涅槃耶若道是涅槃教中道:『常在靈鷲山及餘J40nB491_p0475c01諸住處。』『我時語眾生常在此不滅。』卻作如何理論J40nB491_p0475c02道是不涅槃即今在甚麼處?」拈拄杖云:「世尊在拄杖J40nB491_p0475c03頭上放大光明現大神通了也若有人出來道:『和尚J40nB491_p0475c04這箇是拄杖世尊在甚麼處?』劈面便打也怪老僧不J40nB491_p0475c05。」

清明示眾。「鷰語鶯啼桃紅柳綠風日晴和春光滿目J40nB491_p0475c07一般富貴江山卻有兩般境界山僧雖則不管閒非J40nB491_p0475c08也與諸人說個間架有的笙歌鼎沸羅綺駢闐人醉J40nB491_p0475c09處玉樓窈窕馬嘶邊翠艸生煙有的向楸梧塚畔J40nB491_p0475c10柏塋前呼孃叫子擗地號天縱哽咽煩冤莫訴任揮J40nB491_p0475c11淚悲苦難宣這兩般人樂者樂徹心源苦者苦入骨J40nB491_p0475c12山僧這裏看來卻好個如幻法門一相三昧且如J40nB491_p0475c13何是一相三昧?」卓拄杖:「愁人莫向愁人說說與愁J40nB491_p0475c14人愁殺人。」

四月八日示眾。「遵布衲在藥山會中浴佛次藥山問J40nB491_p0475c16浴甚麼佛?』衲云:『浴這個佛。』山云:『只浴得這個且浴不J40nB491_p0475c17得那個。』衲云:『把將那個來。』山便歸方丈兩個老漢境J40nB491_p0475c18風浩浩這個那個分別不少山僧即不然待他道:『J40nB491_p0475c19將那個來。』便與驀頭一杓管教他布衲渾身是水J40nB491_p0475c20劫不乾且置是事只如教中道:『如來法身淨若虛空。』J40nB491_p0475c21汝等諸人一杓兩杓擬向甚麼處下手若有下手處J40nB491_p0475c22不妨舉起杓頭若是不堪下手莫道一杓兩杓一滴J40nB491_p0475c23也無著處。」舉杓:「且道這一杓向甚麼處下手?」便灌J40nB491_p0475c24佛云:「智水湛然滿浴此無垢人。」

結制示眾。「諸方叢林三月安居萬緣澄寂把定重關J40nB491_p0475c26銀山鐵壁無一法從內出無一法從外入逼虛空直J40nB491_p0475c27使銷亡捻秤鎚定教流汁山僧這裏功用雖同門風J40nB491_p0475c28卻別且道有甚麼別?」拈拄杖:「朝返三秦暮遊百粵J40nB491_p0475c29要行便行要歇便歇一切處無結可解一切處無解J40nB491_p0475c30可結把住也滿地冰霜放行也一天風月且道諸方J40nB491_p0476a01這裏是諸方與這裏事則不同要且法無二致J40nB491_p0476a02然如是若要踏著本地風光須是將諸方與這裏的J40nB491_p0476a03一齊拈卻別作箇坐斷十方的活計使得。」喝一喝J40nB491_p0476a04

精嚴寺佛開光示眾。「南寺佛點眼北寺佛放光若作J40nB491_p0476a06奇特商量大似白日著鬼且置是事只如教中道J40nB491_p0476a07佛真法身猶若虛空應物現形如水中月。』又云:『佛身J40nB491_p0476a08充滿於法界。』且道這光明向甚麼處點即是?」以拄杖J40nB491_p0476a09作點勢:「今佛放光明助發實相義。」

小參。「昨日有人從五臺來報道:『五百毒龍被蟭螟蟲J40nB491_p0476a11一口吞卻直得文殊大士措身無地虛空王旁觀不J40nB491_p0476a12忿震威一喝大地山河一時倒走。』山僧聞了無言可J40nB491_p0476a13無理可陳直是分疏不下今日眾中還有定乾坤J40nB491_p0476a14的手段也無若有出來相見。」良久擊拂子:「君子一J40nB491_p0476a15快馬一鞭。」

解制示眾。「三月同遵聖制來燈籠露柱漫相猜今朝J40nB491_p0476a17剔起眉毛看贏得虛空笑滿腮諸上座九十日內以J40nB491_p0476a18大圓覺而為伽藍身心安居平等性智不必更論J40nB491_p0476a19如堂中憍陳如尊者終日口忉忉地說甚麼法?」舉拂J40nB491_p0476a20:「莫是說這個麼諸上座既與尊者同堂共夏J40nB491_p0476a21是同聞共見何不出來與山僧說看若道舌頭不動J40nB491_p0476a22說個甚麼山僧今日忍俊不禁索性與諸上座說破。」J40nB491_p0476a23以拂子打一圓相:「廚庫走入僧堂中山門吞卻佛J40nB491_p0476a24殿脊。」

晚參示眾。「精嚴寺裏撞鐘府譙樓上擂鼓同時顯大J40nB491_p0476a26神通穿透千門萬戶大眾聞麼若道不聞爭奈鐘鼓J40nB491_p0476a27分明人人有耳若道聞將甚麼聞即今鼓絕鐘消J40nB491_p0476a28的事作麼生速道速道。」卓拄杖:「黃金自有黃金價J40nB491_p0476a29終不和沙賣與人。」

秋雨示眾。「秋風淅淅秋雲作秋雨綿綿連夜落朝來J40nB491_p0476b01急雨忽傾盆驚起臺前睡石人石人喃喃說夢事J40nB491_p0476b02耳聽來無一字秪為阿師性急一棒當頭打出忍痛J40nB491_p0476b03走入虛空拍手連聲叫屈大眾還有為石人雪怨者J40nB491_p0476b04且作麼生是雪怨的事?」擲拄杖:「明日天晴從頭J40nB491_p0476b05說過。」

:「聖人既生知何故亦有所不知?」師曰:「聖人氣宇清J40nB491_p0477a15現行不能籠罩是以應用泠泠七通八達若生而J40nB491_p0477a16知也。」乃擊杖曰:「獨有這一著不可以智知不可以識J40nB491_p0477a17識耳。」又曰:「不知而知是諸聖不思議境界若也議而J40nB491_p0477a18後知思而後覺即外道矣。」
