J40nB477_p0067a02大溈山周百四十里,嶺壑幽深,J40nB477_p0067a03草木蓊鬱,楚南靈境也。開自唐J40nB477_p0067a04時靈祐老祖,明季五峰和尚得J40nB477_p0067a05法天童,重闢興焉。傳迄古梅、天J40nB477_p0067a06翼父子,愈熾愈昌,為臨濟下正J40nB477_p0067a07傳第三十四、五世也。子姪笑穎J40nB477_p0067a08鋒公,韶齡讀書鄉塾,穎異邁眾,J40nB477_p0067a09於舉子業下筆翻江,有大成之J40nB477_p0067a10望。一旦,書密札置書案硯下,一J40nB477_p0067a11謝其師、一白父母,飄然不知所J40nB477_p0067a12往。比得札,四路偵尋,杳無蹤跡。J40nB477_p0067a13數年後,訪知薙髮大溈,為天公J40nB477_p0067a14入室高弟,識見超脫,機辯莫敢J40nB477_p0067a15櫻其鋒者,父兄強之不歸。頃且J40nB477_p0067a16繼住二師舊所托跡芙蓉山,今J40nB477_p0067a17春以父喪歸里,持其師語錄示J40nB477_p0067a18余,且索余敘。余宿不善談禪,然J40nB477_p0067b01契其宗旨,爰取而靜玩之,機鋒J40nB477_p0067b02迅截,慧眼圓明,如旱地崩雷、如J40nB477_p0067b03晴空掣電,如走盤珠、如摩尼寶,J40nB477_p0067b04精光閃爍,著著全提,可謂一切J40nB477_p0067b05處不留、一切處成就者也。是知J40nB477_p0067b06開繼分殊,源流則一,所謂月印J40nB477_p0067b07萬川,川川皆月,因指見月,非月J40nB477_p0067b08即指者,只可意會,未易言詮,誠J40nB477_p0067b09有離乎象數筌蹄之跡,而遊乎J40nB477_p0067b10希夷渾沕之表者矣。昔韓昌黎J40nB477_p0067b11指斥二氏,而於潮陽大顛稱其J40nB477_p0067b12能外形骸,以理自勝,不為物亂,J40nB477_p0067b13中無滯礙,與之往來周旋,豈非J40nB477_p0067b14以儒釋分合,會通不遠?若柳柳J40nB477_p0067b15州取喻如石韞玉,未可因外遺J40nB477_p0067b16中,有同心也耶?又況天師見地J40nB477_p0067b17超越,更出韓、柳所遇,什伯懸殊J40nB477_p0067b18者乎?▆▆數語,以應笑穎之請。

序
J40nB477_p0067c14昔古梅和尚脫縫掖披緇,以其J40nB477_p0067c15家重大事盡付之諸季,掉臂直J40nB477_p0067c16入千峰萬峰,蓋目籠三界、體合J40nB477_p0067c17萬殊,其不以法胤之替隆為情J40nB477_p0067c18量可知也。雖然,吾於天翼禪師J40nB477_p0068a01有以觀古公之不替焉。公初與J40nB477_p0068a02大梅與公首,佐溈開濟,赫著宗J40nB477_p0068a03猷,海內叢林望密印父子兄弟J40nB477_p0068a04間,巋然古大溈也。其後英髦輩J40nB477_p0068a05起,披衣者驟至,七葉環雁行,駢J40nB477_p0068a06輝競燿,而公之門落落焉。或曰:J40nB477_p0068a07公繼主溈席,遷芙蓉,所鎔鍊人J40nB477_p0068a08才宜不少俊傑,而寂寞乃爾,疑J40nB477_p0068a09蓉流斷續將如何矣?夫孰知公J40nB477_p0068a10之揀辨實嚴,待發於翼禪師者,J40nB477_p0068a11奇特爛熳,不可以目睫睹歟?翼J40nB477_p0068a12師三歲出塵,純乎天葆,受業後J40nB477_p0068a13即遍參知識,穎脫驚人,諸方異J40nB477_p0068a14之,不啻羅龍罻鳳,師翱翔無所J40nB477_p0068a15顧。一旦高叩芙蓉,片言納贄,如J40nB477_p0068a16送自天風,此豈恒情所可測耶?J40nB477_p0068a17及隨古公出山,至白下,重新鍵J40nB477_p0068a18戶七百餘日,乃大笑破關,推古J40nB477_p0068b01公倒地,公起喜曰:「吾事自今差J40nB477_p0068b02畢,真一夔足矣。」其潛密如此,則J40nB477_p0068b03又豈恒情所可測耶?師嗣主芙J40nB477_p0068b04蓉甫一年,而大溈虛席,緇素敦J40nB477_p0068b05迎入繼,遂兼荷兩山。韶才粹德,J40nB477_p0068b06浩應無方,遠邇英俊之士聞椎J40nB477_p0068b07拂所作,飆赴雲臻。纔更冬夏,兩J40nB477_p0068b08制眾中嶄然見頭角者,遽淂四J40nB477_p0068b09人先後記莂,彪炳一堂。當此之J40nB477_p0068b10時,古公門庭可不謂光大歟?於J40nB477_p0068b11是兩山法錄映被諸方,皪然昭J40nB477_p0068b12作述之盛。今按其聲節,宛見古J40nB477_p0068b13公典型,而激之以曼拔,導之以J40nB477_p0068b14近專,妙顯綱宗,有響無跡,所謂J40nB477_p0068b15後出者愈奇,非耶?嗚呼!此古公J40nB477_p0068b16所以晚淂賢嗣,擇乳真而傳器J40nB477_p0068b17慎之效也,亦何疑繼起之爪牙J40nB477_p0068b18龍象不接武崢嶸也哉?嗣法中J40nB477_p0068c01今主芙蓉藏菴大師,既丐其在J40nB477_p0068c02家諸父 紫蘿侍御公為撰弁J40nB477_p0068c03言評唱之,擬於雷霆星漢無以J40nB477_p0068c04加矣。而又屬予更贅蕪詞者,謂J40nB477_p0068c05予與古公世出世間並有深誼,J40nB477_p0068c06其佐溈堂構本末,予身與之,使J40nB477_p0068c07說家裏話,頗可傳信。是以不辭J40nB477_p0068c08鄙陋,一申言之,亦欲為紛紛七J40nB477_p0068c09葉中名實相應與否者示。法門J40nB477_p0068c10鄭重,事理終不容謬,有如此云。

J40nB477_p0069a06大清康熙三十年秋日,師在芙蓉,受當寺的峰和尚,J40nB477_p0069a07寧安二邑大護法,闔山耆舊,兩序諸執請,于冬月廿J40nB477_p0069a08七日入院。
J40nB477_p0069a09山門。「三世諸佛從此入,歷代祖師從此出。且道今日J40nB477_p0069a10作何行徑?」顧眾云:「看腳下。」
J40nB477_p0069a11萬佛殿。「殿裏的、殿外的、四方八面的……」拈起香云:「總與J40nB477_p0069a12一串穿卻。」
J40nB477_p0069a13韋馱。提起具云:「汝因者件事,通身枷鎖;我因者件事,J40nB477_p0069a14透體鶻衫。若還脫得下,大地不能擔。」拍一拍。
J40nB477_p0069a15伽藍。「一塵不少,萬法非剩。馬廄牛欄,芳規大振。」喝一J40nB477_p0069a16喝。
J40nB477_p0069a17祖師。「西天販羊頭,東土賣狗肉。秖要獲便宜,腥臊渾J40nB477_p0069a18不顧。咄!」
J40nB477_p0069a19慧祖像前拈香。「虎口蛇鼻,鶻眼蝎眉,自有者幅面皮J40nB477_p0069a20後,不是愁人即笑人。今日不肖到來,愁即是?笑即是?」J40nB477_p0069a21展具,云:「且與遮卻。」
J40nB477_p0069a22據室。「踞獅子窟,秉金剛劍。千聖沒躋攀,萬靈絕瞻仰。」J40nB477_p0069a23拈拄杖,卓一卓。
J40nB477_p0069a24即日,四眾請開堂。
J40nB477_p0069a25拈大梅與老和尚疏。「陣雲連嶽色,旗鼓并天高。灼然J40nB477_p0069a26大人度量,點著萬丈洪濤。」
J40nB477_p0069a27拈護法疏。「詮上加詮,句中破句。韓柳歐蘇,到此卻步。J40nB477_p0069a28試煩表白,高聲念看。」
J40nB477_p0069a29拈同門疏。「橫抽玉線,直度金鍼,羅文結角交加處,銕J40nB477_p0069a30額銅頭失卻睛。」
J40nB477_p0069b01法座。以拄杖指云:「從上諸佛列祖於此方廣座上揚J40nB477_p0069b02沙簸土、打雨敲風,山僧到來只好隨條攀例去也。」便J40nB477_p0069b03陞。拈香云:「此一瓣香如天普蓋、似地普擎,爇向爐中,J40nB477_p0069b04奉為當今J40nB477_p0069b05皇帝聖躬萬歲!萬歲!萬萬歲!伏願皇風常浩蕩,帝道永J40nB477_p0069b06清平。」次拈香云:「此一瓣香奉為滿朝文武、合郡尊官J40nB477_p0069b07以及在筵紳衿護法,伏願恒為盛朝柱石,永作佛法J40nB477_p0069b08金湯。」復懷中取香云:「此一瓣香大冶中種就,劍刃上J40nB477_p0069b09攀來,收則大地遁藏,放則十虛充塞。今當第二回拈J40nB477_p0069b10出,爇向爐中,專誠供養即此堂上傳臨濟正宗三十J40nB477_p0069b11四世本師古梅老和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」維那白椎云:J40nB477_p0069b12「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」師云:「達磨面壁,屈辱先宗;J40nB477_p0069b13斷臂神光,只得一橛。山僧今日登祖父堂,拏三道五、J40nB477_p0069b14坐一走七,個中若有作家禪客,便請當陽證據。」問荅J40nB477_p0069b15不錄,乃云:「廣大祖庭,宗風浩蕩;三玄要旨,迥出言詮。J40nB477_p0069b16山僧今日廓開十智門風,倒跨三腳驢子,直令一會J40nB477_p0069b17人天見所未見,聞所未聞。且如何是未見未聞的事?」J40nB477_p0069b18卓拄杖,云:「一枝梅破臘,萬古恒長春。」敘謝不錄。復舉:J40nB477_p0069b19「臨濟一日謂普化、克符二上座曰:『我欲于此建立黃J40nB477_p0069b20檗宗旨,汝二人可成褫我。』二人珍重下去。三日後,普J40nB477_p0069b21化卻上來問:『和尚三日前說甚麼?』濟便打。三日後,克J40nB477_p0069b22符上來問:『和尚三日前打普化作麼?』濟亦打。」師云:「臨J40nB477_p0069b23濟與麼建立黃檗宗旨,未免自揚家醜。克符、普化雖J40nB477_p0069b24則唱拍相資,大似逐惡隨邪。山僧今日亦欲於此建J40nB477_p0069b25立先師宗旨,仰仗諸人成褫。眾中設有個不惜身命J40nB477_p0069b26底,出來掀倒禪床,喝散大眾,山僧倒退三千里。有麼?J40nB477_p0069b27有麼?」驀拈拄杖,卓一卓,云:「若無舉鼎拔山力,千里烏J40nB477_p0069b28騅不易騎。」復頌曰:「明投暗合,線去絲來,龍驤虎驟,玉J40nB477_p0069b29轉珠回。全提正令兮千差坐斷,倒騎鐵馬兮重關衝J40nB477_p0069b30開。擔板漢,休狐猜,妙舞不須誇遍拍,三臺應是大家J40nB477_p0069c01▆。」維▆▆椎,云:「諦觀法王法,法王法如是。」便下座。
J40nB477_p0069c02當晚,小參。「德山晚參不荅話,問話者三十棒。今夜溈J40nB477_p0069c03山放一線道:解問者出來。」一僧纔出,師云:「汝不解問。」J40nB477_p0069c04僧云:「爭見某甲不解問?」師云:「纔動一步,白雲萬里。」又J40nB477_p0069c05一僧出,師云:「者僧遭點額,你又恁麼來。」僧云:「恁麼來J40nB477_p0069c06且置,如何是佛法大意?」師云:「屎臭氣也吐將來。」便推J40nB477_p0069c07開,乃云:「機先一著,佛祖罔措;纔涉毫釐,亡羊泣路。到J40nB477_p0069c08者裡,真諦、俗諦一齊收,是聖、是凡一時剷。所以,此事J40nB477_p0069c09直下如太阿鋒、大火聚,見則膽怯魂驚,觸則喪身失J40nB477_p0069c10命。正恁麼時,作麼生與山僧相見?」卓拄杖,云:「露。」
J40nB477_p0069c11謝護法,上堂。「妙翅摶羊角,大用全彰;仙子駕雲龍,神J40nB477_p0069c12機獨露。世間世外,互成大道場;是文是法,圓融第一J40nB477_p0069c13義。所以,恁麼中不恁麼,釋迦滿面是埃塵;不恁麼中J40nB477_p0069c14卻恁麼,仲尼全體皆珍御。且緇素同途一句作麼生J40nB477_p0069c15道?千峰勢到嶽邊止,萬派聲歸海上消。」
J40nB477_p0069c16請兩序,上堂。問:「壯士展臂不資他力,和尚出世為甚J40nB477_p0069c17又需執事?」師云:「元首股肱原一體。」進云:「喚和尚作兼J40nB477_p0069c18修得麼?」師云:「兼修搬磚弄瓦,山僧拈槌豎拂。」進云:「未J40nB477_p0069c19審拈槌豎拂與搬磚弄瓦是同是別?」師云:「切忌狐疑。」J40nB477_p0069c20進云:「與麼則賓主聲調諸事泰,君臣道合萬邦寧。」便J40nB477_p0069c21拜,師云:「賴汝證盟。」乃拈起杖云:「你無我不立,我無你J40nB477_p0069c22不成,大家出隻手,扶起破砂盆。」卓一卓,下座。
J40nB477_p0069c23小參。召眾云:「大眾何不散去?大溈者裡無你參禪分J40nB477_p0069c24在。饒你以大地作蒲團、以十世為工夫,時時不動不J40nB477_p0069c25搖、處處築著磕著,無異癩馬繫枯樁;假能截斷腳下J40nB477_p0069c26葛藤、跳出頂門窠臼,竿木隨身、逢場作戲,也是猿猴J40nB477_p0069c27無韁鎖。直饒總不恁麼,如水中月,出沒自是他工;如J40nB477_p0069c28鏡中花,卷舒不關我事。且喜沒交涉。所以靈雲睹花,J40nB477_p0069c29夢中作夢;香嚴擊竹,醉裡添杯;神光斷卻臂、玄沙築J40nB477_p0069c30破指,割肉醫瘡;慧能一聞便了、長慶七破始悟,燒冰J40nB477_p0070a01作炭。你諸人更來無底桶中討甚麼水?到者裡,或有J40nB477_p0070a02個不甘的漢出來問:『和尚當初如何得與此事相應?』J40nB477_p0070a03向他道:『不遇蒼松柏,徒勞話歲寒。』」
J40nB477_p0070a04佛成道日,上堂。問:「世尊睹星便悟道,和尚睹星時如J40nB477_p0070a05何?」師云:「山僧若睹星,一場懡㦬。」進云:「昔日世尊,今朝J40nB477_p0070a06和尚。」師云:「世尊悟,山僧不悟。」僧便喝,師便打,僧便拜,J40nB477_p0070a07師大笑,乃云:「抹殺霜空星子,刺瞎諸人眼睛,天上黑J40nB477_p0070a08漫漫,地下黑漫漫。且道悟門在什麼處?若向者裡薦J40nB477_p0070a09得,便見世尊當時悟道矢上加尖,山僧今日懡㦬空J40nB477_p0070a10處鑿孔,有甚麼奇特?所以道:會得也三十棒,會不得J40nB477_p0070a11也三十棒,明眼難逃落井中,雙盲固是扶籬走。作麼J40nB477_p0070a12生得出者兩途去?」拈拄杖,云:「波斯眼裏迸出火,爍破J40nB477_p0070a13夜叉腦後光。」
J40nB477_p0070a14與老和尚還大梅,上堂。「大人具大見,大智得大用,胸J40nB477_p0070a15中懷六合,袖裡挂金錘。有時植月中丹桂,香光爍破J40nB477_p0070a16四天下;有時推應菴出群,楊岐消息振寰中。正恁麼J40nB477_p0070a17時如何稱謝?」良久,云:「粉骨碎身未足酬,一句了然超J40nB477_p0070a18百億。」拍禪床,下座。
J40nB477_p0070a19古老和尚像前上供。「我被你害,你被我敗。結怨裹讎,J40nB477_p0070a20成團作塊。」插香爐中云:「不如當陽燒卻,貴取冰消瓦J40nB477_p0070a21解。」
J40nB477_p0070a22除夕。「末後句,今夜是雞尾。最初句,明朝是狗頭。中間J40nB477_p0070a23一句如何道?」拍案云:「斬斷雞尾,接起狗頭。」
J40nB477_p0070a24元旦上堂。一僧纔出,師便打,僧云:「莫是新年令麼?」師J40nB477_p0070a25云:「昨日喫棒的是汝否?」僧云:「是。」師云:「明日來再與一J40nB477_p0070a26頓。」僧云:「世上盡歌新歲月,堂前不改舊家風。」師便擲J40nB477_p0070a27下拄杖,乃云:「新年頭,行新令,一棒一條痕,一掌一個J40nB477_p0070a28印,直教人人渾身迸出摩醯眼,徹體俱成陷虎坑,不J40nB477_p0070a29用手而擎捉三賢,不用口而辨驗十聖,一生參學已J40nB477_p0070a30完,百劫受用不盡。雖然,更須山僧與你脫卻骷髏始J40nB477_p0070b01得。何故?漆以堅自割,膏以明自焚。」
J40nB477_p0070b02解制,復留眾結春,上堂。問:「結制、解制即不問,不結、不J40nB477_p0070b03解是如何?」師云:「沙袋。」進云:「今日上堂作麼?」師以杖撥J40nB477_p0070b04僧過一邊。又問:「結制、解制皆為剩事,不結、不解總為J40nB477_p0070b05囈語且置,只如臨濟料揀,且道料揀何事?」師云:「世上J40nB477_p0070b06病無數,醫王藥更多。」「如何是奪人不奪境?」師云:「既張J40nB477_p0070b07陷虎阱,獵士盡潛形。」「如何是奪境不奪人?」師云:「喝中J40nB477_p0070b08傾海岱,棒下死龍蛇。」「如何是人境兩俱奪?」師云:「四海J40nB477_p0070b09狼煙息,將軍不出幃。」「如何是人境俱不奪?」師云:「虎嘯J40nB477_p0070b10風生野,龍飛雲滿空。」「人境已蒙師指示,向上宗乘是J40nB477_p0070b11若何?」師云:「休尋梅上月,莫覓水中天。」「秪者便是否?」師J40nB477_p0070b12云:「何將盤裡豆,喚作眼中珠?」僧便拜,師乃卓杖,云:「打J40nB477_p0070b13破大銕圍,山走出寒山。拾得未曾行得一步,便要分J40nB477_p0070b14南分北,寒山云:『你行荒草我深村。』拾得云:『君向瀟湘,J40nB477_p0070b15我向秦。』山僧止之,云:『住!住!任君蹋遍閻浮去,依舊青J40nB477_p0070b16山多綠樹。』」復舉趙州因僧辭話,至「有佛處不得住,無J40nB477_p0070b17佛處急走過,三千里外逢人不得錯舉」止,師云:「趙州J40nB477_p0070b18老漢將恐水中浸殺魚、泥裡淹死鰲,殊不知有佛處J40nB477_p0070b19正好唱酬、無佛處方堪建立,焉得令人錯過?雖然,秖J40nB477_p0070b20如大為者裡是有佛處?無佛處?」起座,云:「大眾!放下行J40nB477_p0070b21李好。」
J40nB477_p0070b22元宵,晚參。問:「清宵雷鼓震,露地火龍飛,如何?」師云:「莫J40nB477_p0070b23驚我瞌睡。」進云:「此時如錯過,餘夕徒思量。」師顧侍者,J40nB477_p0070b24云:「為我將一文錢與他。」進云:「與麼則罷聲出嶂塞,捲J40nB477_p0070b25陣赴滄溟去也。」師云:「可憐生。」乃云:「心燈從地湧,慧月J40nB477_p0070b26白天垂,照見象王鼻孔,爍開毘盧面門。龍潭紙撚子,J40nB477_p0070b27秖堪▆壁;巖頭滿盛油,正好滌坑。雖然,秖如拋出黑J40nB477_p0070b28漆桶,囊藏大地;鞭起銕崑崙,逼塞虛空,又作麼生?」遂J40nB477_p0070b29鼓掌大笑,云:「明暗雙雙好時節。」
J40nB477_p0070b30小參。「古人道:『若以實法與人,土也難消。』所以,山僧尋J40nB477_p0070c01常要你是即是,獼猴有一面古鏡,釐奴有萬里神光;J40nB477_p0070c02要你非即非,十地是擔糞漢,三賢是守墓鬼。故知:相J40nB477_p0070c03非實相,名亦虛名。你若認著,清風受桎梏,明月遭枷J40nB477_p0070c04鎖;若不認著,荊棘化優曇,羅網成華藏。雖然,山僧恁J40nB477_p0070c05麼告報,且道:是實法?不是實法?呵呵!鴈雖避影卻毛J40nB477_p0070c06落,魚欲潛蹤又水濁,縱饒得似德山無,檢點何如薦J40nB477_p0070c07福莫?」拍香几兩下。
J40nB477_p0070c08清明埽塔歸,小參。「適來山僧向百草頭邊埽出一個J40nB477_p0070c09祖師頭,把得歸來與諸人看看。」遂舉起拳,云:「阿呵呵!J40nB477_p0070c10認錯了,原來不是祖師頭,是鎮州出的蘿蔔頭。」
J40nB477_p0070c11佛誕日,上堂。問:「靈山有密請,牛拔不出;少室有真機,J40nB477_p0070c12斧劈不開。未審和尚如何?」師云:「遍界絕囊藏,三冬枯J40nB477_p0070c13木秀,九夏雪花飛。」「如何是未離兜率已降皇宮?」師云:J40nB477_p0070c14「一字兩頭垂,荷珠不為露,麥浪豈關風?」「如何是未出J40nB477_p0070c15母胎度人已畢?」師云:「乙字兩頭鉤。」「未審世尊恁麼惟J40nB477_p0070c16是神通妙用,惟復法爾如然?」師云:「且莫訪佛。」「若不展J40nB477_p0070c17開滄海水,焉能露出珊瑚枝?」師云:「三十年後看。」乃云:J40nB477_p0070c18「有水皆涵月,無山不帶雲,眾生如未有,諸佛又何曾?J40nB477_p0070c19大眾!即今釋迦老子在你頂𩕳上降誕、眼睛裡成道、J40nB477_p0070c20鼻孔中建道場、舌尖上演妙法,你諸人還知也未?若J40nB477_p0070c21也知得,切忌轉腦旋眸、鼓氣搖唇,觸犯如來念頭,無J40nB477_p0070c22人為汝懺悔;其或不知,快自取下頭來看看。」連喝兩J40nB477_p0070c23喝,下座。
J40nB477_p0070c24解春,值常住散扇供眾,上堂。「青陽纔去,朱夏又臨,銕J40nB477_p0070c25蛇口裡吐火,石虎頭上噴金,直得閻浮提頓成爐炭,J40nB477_p0070c26香水海化作𤐰湯。到者個時節,野狐精、水牯牛、三腳J40nB477_p0070c27驢一齊燒殺;麻三斤、柏樹子、乾矢橛當下灰生。更有J40nB477_p0070c28甚葛藤難埽、鬼眼難覷?一任諸人無憂無慮、撒風撒J40nB477_p0070c29顛,大似門前泥力士,不將一事挂心田。雖然,要且諸J40nB477_p0070c30人即今骨節中大發、毛孔裡煙生又作麼生支遣?」頭J40nB477_p0071a01院主云:「好為大眾過犀牛扇子來。」
J40nB477_p0071a02上堂。拈拄杖,云:「一塵一個金剛圈,一物一塵栗棘蘿。」J40nB477_p0071a03卓一卓,云:「到者裡,無你轉身時,亦無你下口處。所以,J40nB477_p0071a04你若會得,靈龜依舊滯沙泥;你若不會,頑石何曾能J40nB477_p0071a05𨁝跳?你若會中有不會,是甚麼鳥啼非有意,花笑本J40nB477_p0071a06無心?你若不會中有會,是甚麼石磨分粗細,秤錘知J40nB477_p0071a07重輕?所以道:有手只好拏空,有口秖堪挂壁。有一等J40nB477_p0071a08孟八郎,向跳不得處去跳、吞不得處去吞,無異蝸牛J40nB477_p0071a09鬥石壁、蚊子鑽鐵牛。殊不知,通玄不待往,契妙豈須J40nB477_p0071a10餐?你若直下絕追尋、當處忘計較,管取金剛圈驀地J40nB477_p0071a11斷了、栗棘蓬和根倒卻。諸仁者!委悉麼?折角泥牛忘J40nB477_p0071a12百艸,沒蹄石馬斷千岐。」
J40nB477_p0071a13天中節,小參。「盡大地是個病人,三世諸佛轉妙法輪,J40nB477_p0071a14伸患不了;歷代祖師傳正法藏,叫苦不息;一切衲僧J40nB477_p0071a15發大道心,忍痛不徹;乃至群生萬有,有情者顛狂不J40nB477_p0071a16消,無情者癰疽未解。山僧今日要與一齊醫了。」良久,J40nB477_p0071a17云:「時逢五月五,何物不醍醐?」
J40nB477_p0071a18祈雨,上堂。問:「山川涸竭,禾麥萎然,和尚將何法濟人?」J40nB477_p0071a19師便連打數棒。進云:「恁麼又豈能濟人?」師云:「且喜棒J40nB477_p0071a20如雨點。」進云:「可謂頭頭總三昧,物物悉醍醐。」師云:「浸J40nB477_p0071a21破汝腦門。」僧便作禮,師大笑,乃拈拂子,云:「把住十虛J40nB477_p0071a22路,塞卻四海源,黃龍困殺機關,雲門抬頭不起,直得J40nB477_p0071a23嘉州大象眼裡流淚,陝府鐵牛皮下無血。」拂一拂,云:J40nB477_p0071a24「山僧今日放開一線,貴使無滲漏處傾湫倒嶽,至枯J40nB477_p0071a25稿地浪湧波騰,灑腐草為嘉禾,潤糠秕成玉粒,堪行J40nB477_p0071a26不濟之恩,用助無為之化。且法雨普滋一句作麼生J40nB477_p0071a27道?家家歌歲稔,個個樂昇平。」
J40nB477_p0071a28立秋,上堂。揮拂子,云:「殺不用刀,割不須鑿,一毫纔變J40nB477_p0071a29顏,萬物盡銷鑠,千山脫皮換毛,萬木解粘去縛。正恁J40nB477_p0071a30麼時如何?四方八面絕遮攔,萬里天邊飛隻鶚。」
J40nB477_p0071b01小參。「要說時,須彌塞咽喉也塞不住;不說時,風輪拔J40nB477_p0071b02舌頭也拔不出。且道利害在甚麼處?待你折倒須彌、J40nB477_p0071b03斬斷風輪來向你道。」
J40nB477_p0071b04中秋,值雲掩月,晚參。以手指,云:「明歷歷,光凜凜,飛過J40nB477_p0071b05萬山頭,不動一莖草;穿入千江底,不沾一滴水。雖然,J40nB477_p0071b06奇則也奇,要且你通身環個銀圈,還出得麼?透心▆J40nB477_p0071b07個鐵橛,還拔得麼?所以,亙古亙今,秖成得一色邊▆。J40nB477_p0071b08山僧今夜要與你拈卻。」顧侍者,云:「與我過燈籠▆。」
J40nB477_p0071b09結冬,上堂。「遍大千沙界是個選佛場,盡十世古今無J40nB477_p0071b10非參禪日,你諸人未出門時早已結制了也,更要山J40nB477_p0071b11僧今日為你捏緊布袋頭,大似木中著楔,秪成一場J40nB477_p0071b12多事。雖然,結卻髑髏,要坐不能坐、要行不能行,許諸J40nB477_p0071b13人有分;結卻性命,要生不得生、要死不得死,許諸人J40nB477_p0071b14有分。爭柰未得出身路在?」豎拂子,云:「大眾還會麼?若J40nB477_p0071b15也會得,不妨向鍼不容芥上七縱八橫、隙不通風處J40nB477_p0071b16轟雷掣電;其或未然,從前謾負真金譽,今日重新火J40nB477_p0071b17裡看。」
J40nB477_p0071b18上堂。侍者問:「昔日香嚴上堂,因僧問:『不求諸聖、不重J40nB477_p0071b19己靈時如何?』嚴曰:『萬機休罷,千聖不攜。』意旨若何?」師J40nB477_p0071b20云:「樓因山勢峻,船逐浪頭高。」云:「時疏山在眾作嘔聲,J40nB477_p0071b21曰:『是何言歟?』真是不肯嚴否?」師云:「上山攀墜石,不顧J40nB477_p0071b22自亡腓。」云:「嚴聞,下座,曰:『適對此僧語,必有不是,致招J40nB477_p0071b23師叔如是,未審過在甚麼處?』莫是受山惑麼?」師云:「帶J40nB477_p0071b24月沖霄去,和煙跌地來。」云:「疏山曰:『萬機休罷,猶有物J40nB477_p0071b25在;千聖不攜,亦從人得。如何無過?』恁麼果是嚴過否?」J40nB477_p0071b26師云:「有石方生玉,無沙不見金。」云:「香嚴曰:『卻請師叔J40nB477_p0071b27道。』乃禮拜,躡前問。果有疑而問麼?」師云:「若不拋死蝦,J40nB477_p0071b28如何釣跛鱉?」云:「疏山曰:『何不道肯諾不得全?』惟是荅J40nB477_p0071b29他問處?復是別有商量?」師云:「秖因一菜落,露出五湖J40nB477_p0071b30秋。」云:「因何嚴又問:『肯又肯個甚麼?諾又諾于阿誰?』」師J40nB477_p0071c01云:「鑽瓦須流血,敲冰必見煙。」云:「疏山曰:『肯即肯他千J40nB477_p0071c02聖,諾即諾于己靈。』與不求諸聖、不重己靈相去多少?」J40nB477_p0071c03師云:「孰謂野狐皮,亦自有人著。」云:「嚴又道:『師叔恁麼J40nB477_p0071c04道,向後倒屙三十年。』莫是罵他麼?」師云:「本是秦宮調,J40nB477_p0071c05卻作楚詞傳。」云:「向後山果病,每于食後抉口吐曰:『香J40nB477_p0071c06嚴記我三十年,倒屙尚欠三年在。』果是遭他授記否?」J40nB477_p0071c07師云:「誰知昔時烏,卻成今日馬。」云:「如今學人敢問和J40nB477_p0071c08尚:不求諸聖、不重己靈又作麼生?」師云:「放下問頭來J40nB477_p0071c09向你道。」者便休去。師云:「如是。」乃云:「古人道:『實際理地J40nB477_p0071c10不受一塵,萬行門中不捨一法。』須是過量人,方可隨J40nB477_p0071c11處作主,遇緣即宗。要見香嚴麼?雞不下水。要見疏山J40nB477_p0071c12麼?魚不上樹。且道二大老還有優劣也無?雲收雨霽J40nB477_p0071c13長空闊,一對鴛鴦畫不成。」
J40nB477_p0071c14起七,落堂,晚參。一僧出眾叉手而立,師便打,僧云:「將J40nB477_p0071c15謂將謂,原來原來。」便歸眾,師隨後又打,又一僧纔出J40nB477_p0071c16便云:「還我棒頭來。」師不顧,僧云:「且喜某甲血濺梵天J40nB477_p0071c17了也。」師亦不顧,維那出眾云:「和尚何得傷龜恕鱉?」師J40nB477_p0071c18云:「錯見山僧在。」那云:「未審師意如何?」師云:「將龜釣鱉。」J40nB477_p0071c19那便休去,師大笑,乃云:「坐坐蒲團兒,羅文結角等閒J40nB477_p0071c20矣,破脊梁上一場懡㦬;行行芒鞋子,百結千層驀地J40nB477_p0071c21蹋,翻腳跟下甚可憐生。既然如是,又用者場特地作J40nB477_p0071c22麼?不因虞泉暗,爭見扶桑曉?」
J40nB477_p0071c23解七,落堂,小參。師纔就椅,不覺噴嚏,遂命眾下語。有J40nB477_p0071c24道:「且喜和尚鼻孔通一線。」有道:「正恁麼時,還塞得住J40nB477_p0071c25麼?」有道:「仲冬嚴寒,和尚宜保護。」有道:「恭賀和尚拄杖J40nB477_p0071c26子,今冬必然解懷。」有道:「笑倒露柱。」有道:「侍者,師捃取,J40nB477_p0071c27三十年後大有用去在。」師呵呵大笑,云:「誰知山僧一J40nB477_p0071c28個噴嚏,打出多少獅子兒來?」乃云:「虀甕裡水流風動,J40nB477_p0071c29布袋頭地闊天高,自是汝諸人腳跟下葛藤未斷、頂J40nB477_p0071c30𩕳上窠臼未翻,不免向赤灑灑地,如魚在網、似鳥棲J40nB477_p0072a01籠,出入不得自由,縱橫豈能自在?山僧今日秉金剛J40nB477_p0072a02寶劍、握無孔鐵槌,為諸人斬斷葛藤、打破窠臼去也。」J40nB477_p0072a03遂掀倒香案,出堂。
J40nB477_p0072a04小參。「猛虎頷下有珍珠,無人敢取;毒蛇口裡有瓊漿,J40nB477_p0072a05無人敢舐。若是大丈夫,不難拾取性命根挂于劍刃J40nB477_p0072a06上,把將皮袋子拋向毒鼓中,到恁麼脫體無依的田J40nB477_p0072a07地,方堪橫行三界、混入四生,不用一莖草現百億法J40nB477_p0072a08身、不假一粒粟建無量法幢,直令斷井索成鳳成龍、J40nB477_p0072a09死蝦蟆吞佛吞祖,為人所不能為、示人所不能示。且J40nB477_p0072a10獨步高超一句作麼生道?出頭天外看,誰是我般人?」J40nB477_p0072a11說戒,上堂。問:「一念不生,萬緣放下,且道戒個甚麼?」師J40nB477_p0072a12云:「汝寒來著衣,饑來喫飯麼?」進云:「然。」師云:「何曾放下?」J40nB477_p0072a13進云:「也知和尚不著衣喫飯。」師云:「切忌犯口業。」進云:J40nB477_p0072a14「還許學人懺悔也無?」師云:「直須無口始得。」進云:「恁麼J40nB477_p0072a15則和尚亦犯口業。」師云:「為憐三歲子,不惜兩莖眉。」僧J40nB477_p0072a16作禮,師乃云:「有戒可受,蜘蛛網裡坐;無戒可受,猢猻J40nB477_p0072a17樹上走。若是個漢,直須折倒枯木寒巖,不向此中依J40nB477_p0072a18倚,踢翻花街柳巷,別作一番行徑,然後即頭頂文殊、J40nB477_p0072a19足蹋普賢、手抱釋迦、口噬彌勒,無非圓本有之風光、J40nB477_p0072a20顯當人之作用。諸仁者還會麼?若也會得,不妨當陽J40nB477_p0072a21擊碎缽盂、燎卻袈裟歸家去;脫或未然,不免帶累山J40nB477_p0072a22僧舌頭落地。」
J40nB477_p0072a23誕日,兩序請上堂。問:「祝讚壽誕即且置,王子五位請J40nB477_p0072a24師宣。」師云:「逐一問將來。」「如何是誕生王子?」師云:「聲容J40nB477_p0072a25全不動,萬國咸尊威。」「如何是朝生王子?」師云:「高明逾J40nB477_p0072a26日月,指顧定乾坤。」「如何是末生王子?」師云:「十年修素J40nB477_p0072a27志,一日步丹霄。」「如何是化生王子?」師云:「隨時敷政令,J40nB477_p0072a28在處振權衡。」「如何是內生王子?」師云:「九重深處坐,不J40nB477_p0072a29許眾臣知。」「如何是五位王子父?」師云:「威音不識面。」「如J40nB477_p0072a30何是五位王子子?」師云:「樓至不知名。」「未審和尚是那J40nB477_p0072b01一位?」師云:「荒草不堪宿,瓊樓亦不居。」「原來和尚是者J40nB477_p0072b02一位。」師云:「他後見人,切忌道親見山僧來。」僧云:「諾。」便J40nB477_p0072b03入眾。師乃以手自指云:「山僧自有者個來,被伊帶累。J40nB477_p0072b04眼是黑漆桶,破他不得;耳是招箭垛,取他不得;口是J40nB477_p0072b05大禍門,閉他不得。秖有眉橫鼻直,足以扶豎宗乘。山J40nB477_p0072b06僧賴伊提持不少。」乃高聲叫云:「大眾會麼?遍體無非J40nB477_p0072b07關捩子,今朝拈出與人看。」
J40nB477_p0072b08安邑侯趙公送金額至,上堂。「祖庭法印又重提,赫赫J40nB477_p0072b09光輝日月齊。大福士修大福事,個中人諳個中機。」
J40nB477_p0072b10因事值雪晴,上堂。「昨夜風穴昭呼號大怒,驚起雲居J40nB477_p0072b11膺勃然變色,引出雪巖欽乘機弄巧,為妖作怪,打大J40nB477_p0072b12地作一團,結江湖成一片,南山鱉鼻換骨解皮,大雄J40nB477_p0072b13猛虎潛牙縮爪。山僧今辰不忍坐觀成敗,急命太陽J40nB477_p0072b14玄出來作個解交。」以手指云:「一輪光烜赫,萬象悉回J40nB477_p0072b15春。」
J40nB477_p0072b16元旦,上堂。「日日是好日,年年是好年,不披三玄甲冑,J40nB477_p0072b17不彈五位弓弦,端拱垂裳清宇宙,鳳簫吹徹御樓前。」J40nB477_p0072b18立春,上堂。問:「昨朝歌白雪,今日賦陽春,如何是臘去J40nB477_p0072b19春回句?」師云:「免教寒殺闍黎。」進云:「欲識佛性義,當觀J40nB477_p0072b20時節因緣。扺如今日立春,如何是佛性義?」師云:「梅花J40nB477_p0072b21落未盡,柳葉長將來。」進云:「只好道不關時,法因境蔽J40nB477_p0072b22又作麼生?」師云:「貌醜休嫌鏡,病深莫怨醫。」僧便喝,師J40nB477_p0072b23大笑,僧禮拜,師便打,乃云:「白雪築長空,寒冰裹大地,J40nB477_p0072b24障蔽靈山的旨,埋沒少林消息。山僧今日要與埽開J40nB477_p0072b25白雪,露出春王面孔;劈破寒冰,漏泄化母機關。貴使J40nB477_p0072b26龍吟枯木,石筍抽條,鶯聲長,燕聲短,咸談般若;桃花J40nB477_p0072b27紅,李花白,悉顯真如。且法逐時彰一句作麼生道?」顧J40nB477_p0072b28眾云:「若能識此日,何物非韶光?」
J40nB477_p0072b29解制,上堂。「鐵壁銀山,一腳蹋倒。金鎖玄路,就手掣開。J40nB477_p0072b30便可一步一須彌,一蹴一佛土。趙州覓影無方,寶掌J40nB477_p0072c01追蹤無計。雖然,也是蝦跳不出斗。」
J40nB477_p0072c02大悲誕日,上堂。拈起杖,云:「觀世音生也,汝諸人還見J40nB477_p0072c03麼?若也見得,石堆土壘,無非爍迦羅眼;尺木寸草,莫J40nB477_p0072c04非母陀羅臂;驢蹄馬跡,俱是清淨寶目;雞啼犬吠,總J40nB477_p0072c05是圓通妙音。具廣大智慧,顯最勝神通,不勞彈指教J40nB477_p0072c06化一切眾生,無用揚眉收攝一切魔屬。若也不見,莫J40nB477_p0072c07道菩薩入滅度去也。」遂擲下拄杖,下座。
J40nB477_p0072c08晚參。「上無瞻仰,頂門自是朝天;下絕追尋,腳跟何曾J40nB477_p0072c09離地?所以,情塵未盡,旃檀成荊棘之林;識見若忘,瓦J40nB477_p0072c10樂變黃金之色。雖然,北猶是死水藏龍邊事。若是越J40nB477_p0072c11量超群漢,直須來光潔地上帶水拖泥、解脫場中披J40nB477_p0072c12枷著杻,于無為中運為、無法中演法,挂破笠子于壁J40nB477_p0072c13上蓋覆梵天、置爛草鞋于路邊蹋倒閻浮,方不孤負J40nB477_p0072c14自己、埋沒先宗。若到大溈者裡,更須朝打三千、暮打J40nB477_p0072c15八百。為甚麼聻?幸爾無瘡,何須刳肉?」
J40nB477_p0072c16佛誕日,值學祖生辰,上堂。「描不成,畫不就,一對鴛鴦J40nB477_p0072c17交頸宿。三百六十餘會,偷心未滿;二年共一春,狼謀J40nB477_p0072c18卻足。一會天人事儼然,說甚西天與東土?」拍禪床,下J40nB477_p0072c19座。
J40nB477_p0072c20天中節,小參。「青山如浪湧,萬木若船搖,禪人高著眼,J40nB477_p0072c21看取最高標。」拈起杖,云:「若能赤手奪去,管取一世豐J40nB477_p0072c22饒;其或四顧躊躇,貪觀天上月,失卻手中橈。」
J40nB477_p0072c23上堂。「一塵未起,大地全彰;一毫未收,虛空消殞,是諸J40nB477_p0072c24人現成事。秖如蝸牛角上飛出金翅鳥王,蟭螟眼裡J40nB477_p0072c25跳出金毛獅子,拈起須彌山,穿卻釋迦鼻,把得香水J40nB477_p0072c26海,灌破毘盧頂,是現成不是現成?」喝一喝,云:「莫寐語。」
J40nB477_p0072c27中秋,晚參。「二十年前事,拈出實不堪,欲將拋向後,覿J40nB477_p0072c28面成熱瞞。」乃以手指云:「諸仁者!著眼看,十方無向背,J40nB477_p0072c29四面絕遮攔,明明一著超群有,說甚前三與後三?」
J40nB477_p0072c30開爐,上堂。「大開爐韝,鎔瓶盤釵釧為一金;大展鉗錘,J40nB477_p0073a01化鈍銻頑銅為一器。八兩還你半斤,十成謾誇足色。J40nB477_p0073a02勸君莫認定盤星,須防大匠把金貼。」卓拄杖,下座。
J40nB477_p0073a03上堂。「見色明心,聞聲悟道,毒蛇穿你眼耳;逢緣不起,J40nB477_p0073a04觸境無知,銕橛釘汝肝膈。直饒無迷無悟、絕是絕非,J40nB477_p0073a05如枯木糝花、寒灰發燄,成得什麼事?所以道:恁麼也J40nB477_p0073a06不得,不恁麼也不得,恁麼不恁麼總不得。然則畢竟J40nB477_p0073a07如何?手執夜明符,幾個知天曉?」
J40nB477_p0073a08小參。「山僧一向不肯人,撿點將來,未免壓良為賤,自J40nB477_p0073a09今不如改換旗鎗去也。他後山僧若有問你,即咳聲J40nB477_p0073a10嗽,道:『你是獅子吼時芳草綠。』你即掉下頭,道:『你是象J40nB477_p0073a11王回顧落花紅。』假使全然不動,向你道:『一塵若不起,J40nB477_p0073a12萬法自然彰。』全然不語,亦向道:『迥超四句外,不落百J40nB477_p0073a13非中。』山僧恁麼告報,你諸人還信得及也未?若信得J40nB477_p0073a14及,許你直下承當;若信不及,許你不受顢頇。所以道:J40nB477_p0073a15等閒識得東風面,萬紫千紅總是春。雖然,此猶是空J40nB477_p0073a16口談玄,更須當面取證。」遂搊住侍者云:「離卻語默動J40nB477_p0073a17靜,道將一句來。」者無對。師呵呵大笑云:「龍生金鳳子,J40nB477_p0073a18衝破碧琉璃。」
J40nB477_p0073a19將說戒,先夜晚參。「諸人莫求授戒麼?逢佛殺佛、逢祖J40nB477_p0073a20殺祖,是大宗匠境界;燒金剛鈔、謗涅槃經,是大智慧J40nB477_p0073a21人境界;驅耕夫牛、奪饑人食,是大手眼人境界;笑入J40nB477_p0073a22淫房、橫眠酒肆,是大解脫人境界。乃至粗言并細語,J40nB477_p0073a23皆歸第一義;直行與曲行,咸入不二門。你諸人更戒J40nB477_p0073a24個甚麼?說到者裡,或有個漢出來道:『和尚恁麼說話,J40nB477_p0073a25秖知教人直下擔荷,未知教人向上行履在。』山僧向J40nB477_p0073a26伊道:『若論向上行履,且待明日為汝道破。』」
J40nB477_p0073a27示眾。「我者裡禪,如矢上一鉤相似,逢高則射,遇深則J40nB477_p0073a28釣。汝等諸人作麼生迴避?」
J40nB477_p0073a29示眾。「砒礵石是生性命母,醍醐瓶是煮髑髏鐺,沖霄J40nB477_p0073a30路是金繩鐵鎖,陷虎坑是玉殿瓊樓。若人透此四轉J40nB477_p0073b01語,方得左右歸源、縱橫合轍,鍛煉佛祖、開鑿人天。若J40nB477_p0073b02透不得,管取雞因畏水終難變,鳥為貪風反致烹。」
J40nB477_p0073b03示眾:「參禪人恰如夢裡尋歸路,不知身本在家眠。還J40nB477_p0073b04覺麼?」拍香几一下。
J40nB477_p0073b05上堂。「泰山石敢當,街頭巷尾坐。有眼不識伊,無眼較J40nB477_p0073b06一半。那一半,十影神駒夜度江,八角磨盤空裡墜。」卓J40nB477_p0073b07拄杖,下座。
J40nB477_p0073b08示眾。「山僧蒞眾三年,若非耕田耰土,定是弄瓦搬磚。J40nB477_p0073b09諸人未了事,從未決斷,太煞孤負,今日不免結案去J40nB477_p0073b10也。」乃橫按拄杖云:「馬師一即一非,大梅一親一疏,趙J40nB477_p0073b11州一有一無,法眼一得一失。狐言魅語,百丈野狐。雲J40nB477_p0073b12巖獅子,南山鱉鼻,東海鯉魚,為妖作怪。女子燒菴,南J40nB477_p0073b13泉斬貓,婆子拋兒,孚公折箭,壓良為賤。婦人分娩,院J40nB477_p0073b14主墮眉,德山化去,疏山倒屙,掩耳偷鈴。石頭恁麼也J40nB477_p0073b15不得,不恁麼也不得;秘魔道得也叉下死,道不得也J40nB477_p0073b16又下死;普化明來明打,暗來暗打。普州人捉賊。善慧J40nB477_p0073b17空手把鉏頭,步行騎水牛,人從橋上過,橋流水不流;J40nB477_p0073b18法順懷州牛喫禾,益州馬腹脹,天下覓醫人,炙豬左J40nB477_p0073b19膞上;高峰海底泥牛啣月走,巖前石虎抱兒眠,鐵蛇J40nB477_p0073b20鑽入金剛眼,崑崙騎象鷺鷥牽。開了眼作夢。以上數J40nB477_p0073b21案,總是者夥多知漢不守本分,無事生事,帶累諸人,J40nB477_p0073b22無有了日。山僧開張毒口,一時為諸人判斷了也,諸J40nB477_p0073b23人正好放下疑團,歸家穩坐,一任饑來喫飯,倦時打J40nB477_p0073b24眠,更有什麼事?所以道:只今休去便休去,更待了時J40nB477_p0073b25到幾時?」時有僧問云:「諸老淆訛,既承和尚判斷,秖如J40nB477_p0073b26威音那畔事又作麼生?」師云:「今日不著便。」遂擲杖歸J40nB477_p0073b27方丈。
