J40nB475_p0047b04順治己亥春,師在嶷山座元寮,受寶頂監院德圓請,J40nB475_p0047b05住白雲菴。
J40nB475_p0047b06結夏,小參。問:「諸方休夏,為甚此處坐禪?」師云:「白雲境J40nB475_p0047b07況家風別,六月水花是處開。」乃云:「高登峰頂,低視人J40nB475_p0047b08寰,觀聖水而點滴清漣,駕鐵船而去來無礙。耳畔真J40nB475_p0047b09機,雷鳴足下;眼前奇色,月霽眉間。法法真體,頭頭玅J40nB475_p0047b10用。且心空及第又作麼生?」卓拄杖,云:「棒頭有眼明如J40nB475_p0047b11日,要識真金火裏看。」
J40nB475_p0047b12解七,小參。「今朝六月初一,遍界烘烘赤日,灼開祖師J40nB475_p0047b13面門,照破衲僧巴鼻。明明在處全彰,休向外邊尋覓,J40nB475_p0047b14堪嘆六載雪山,可憐九年面壁。三登九上徒破草鞋,J40nB475_p0047b15煙水百城空勞腳力,何若白雲堂內打破生死牢關,J40nB475_p0047b16大家一齊解七?且如何是解七的事?腳尖頭踢出西J40nB475_p0047b17來意。」
J40nB475_p0047b18絕瑕壽請小參。師屈指曰:「一二三四五六七,七六五J40nB475_p0047b19四三二一,從頭至尾數將來,百劫千生無盡極。雖然J40nB475_p0047b20數目甚分明,不知其中誰辨的?」
J40nB475_p0047b21師誕日,小參。「父母未生已前,無處著名;㘞地一聲以J40nB475_p0047b22後,秪可傍通。拈花微笑,徒增紺目之沙;斷臂安心,重J40nB475_p0047b23益靈臺之垢。德山用傾湫倒嶽之棒,欺瞞嬰兒;臨濟J40nB475_p0047b24展疾風迅霆之喝,誑嚇閭里。恁麼告報,惡水潑人;更J40nB475_p0047b25若叨叨,誠為自謗。且道:無名、無相、無滅、無生又作麼J40nB475_p0047b26生?佛祖位中留不住,夜來依舊宿蘆花。」
J40nB475_p0047b27解制,小參。「夜明廉外,木雞啼子夜;明月堂前,芻犬吠J40nB475_p0047b28天明。於斯會得,明露秋光;若也未然,暗藏春色。若是J40nB475_p0047b29真正大丈夫漢,向者裡翻轉面皮,一刀兩斷。且解制J40nB475_p0047b30一句作麼生道?路遠夜長休把火,大家吹滅暗中行。」
住碧羅菴
J40nB475_p0047c02開爐,小參。「重整家風,貴在當陽敲唱;全提祖令,必須J40nB475_p0047c03格外鉗鎚。縱饒六臂三頭一擊粉碎,假使三賢十聖J40nB475_p0047c04一火銷鎔。」驀拈拄杖,云:「琉璃殿上長庚燦,瑪瑙階前J40nB475_p0047c05瑞草香。」卓一卓。
J40nB475_p0047c06供祖衣,小參。「靈山會上親傳,黃梅室中暗囑,卻被大J40nB475_p0047c07猷都寺從達磨嶺外攜歸,向碧羅堂中奉重,九十六J40nB475_p0047c08種外道悉乃皈依,百千萬億人天咸皆稽首。正恁麼J40nB475_p0047c09時如何?」遂拈起袈裟角,云:「縫裏看。」
J40nB475_p0047c10住毘盧菴
J40nB475_p0047c11結冬,小參。舉:「黃山谷請益於晦堂云:『佛法徑捷處,乞J40nB475_p0047c12師方便。』堂曰:『秪如仲尼道:「二三子以我為隱乎?吾無J40nB475_p0047c13隱乎爾。」太史居常如何理論?』谷擬對,堂曰:『不是,不是。』J40nB475_p0047c14一日,侍堂山行,睹巖桂盛放,堂曰:『此是甚麼香?』谷曰:J40nB475_p0047c15『木樨花香。』堂曰:『吾無隱乎爾。』谷即豁然作禮,曰:『和尚J40nB475_p0047c16恁麼老婆心切。』堂曰:『只要公到家耳。』晦堂曲垂方便,J40nB475_p0047c17善用機籌,令山谷久疑頓息,暢快平生。揀點將來,秪J40nB475_p0047c18解順水推舟,不能逆風把舵。今日若有人乞指徑捷,J40nB475_p0047c19待聲未絕,但云:『已是迂曲了也。』不惟使他直下知歸,J40nB475_p0047c20抑免墮於知見。還會麼?鯨吞海水盡,露出珊瑚枝。」
J40nB475_p0047c21小參。「至道無難,惟嫌撿擇。但莫憎愛,洞然明白。熱不J40nB475_p0047c22向火,冷不當風。愛旃檀之香,惡伊蘭之臭。且道撿擇J40nB475_p0047c23不撿擇,憎愛不憎愛。若撿點得出,嫩柳過墻連草緣。J40nB475_p0047c24撿點不出,榴花逐水映山紅。」
J40nB475_p0047c25元旦,小參。「陽象初回,乾元新肇。翡翠簾前,子轉身而J40nB475_p0047c26就父;黃金殿上,臣退位以朝君。太平元有象,何妨鳳J40nB475_p0047c27舞鸞翔?造化本無私,一任龍吟虎嘯。正恁麼時,如何J40nB475_p0047c28是祝讚一句?宸庭有道三邊靜,萬姓歡呼樂太平。」
J40nB475_p0047c29小參。豎拂子,曰:「上大人,丘乙己。」拂一拂,曰:「化三千,七J40nB475_p0047c30十士。」左右顧視,曰:「爾小生,八九子。會麼?」眾默然。師曰:J40nB475_p0048a01「佳作仁,可知禮也。」良久,曰:「汝等秪知上大上,千字文J40nB475_p0048a02未夢見在。」復呵呵大笑,下座。
住蓮池山
J40nB475_p0048a04小參。「陸地蓮開,現西方之玅境;紫雲結蓋,展東土之J40nB475_p0048a05宗風。地即七寶之地,池原八德之池。煙霞樓閣,咸轉J40nB475_p0048a06根本法輪;水鳥樹林,皆現色身三昧。何必普陀山上J40nB475_p0048a07始見觀音,上品蓮開方參無量?」卓拄杖,曰:「溪聲盡是J40nB475_p0048a08廣長舌,山色無非清淨身。」
J40nB475_p0048a09順治辛丑春,師在蓮池山秉握,老人命代席,嶷山唐J40nB475_p0048a10至仁請小參。「懸寶鏡於堂前,顯露無私之照;設紅爐J40nB475_p0048a11於室內,全彰妙用之功。舊店新開,冷灶著火,離相離J40nB475_p0048a12名的從頭煆煉,向上向下的徹底銷鎔,不是盡法無J40nB475_p0048a13民,且要覿體相見。」遂豎拄杖曰:「竿頭絲線從君弄,不J40nB475_p0048a14犯清波意自殊。」
J40nB475_p0048a15小參。以拄杖橫按,曰:「踞此座,行斯令,人天乞命,凡聖J40nB475_p0048a16潛蹤。縱饒八面玲瓏,透徹不及;假使通身手眼,顧鑒J40nB475_p0048a17無從。直得水河發焰,凍石生花,展大用於針鋒,發全J40nB475_p0048a18機於毫末,猶未許喫嶷山棒在。即今還有喫得者麼?」J40nB475_p0048a19良久,擲拄杖,下座。
J40nB475_p0048a20戒壇,小參。「若論此事,本自圓成,稍涉遲疑,白雲萬里。J40nB475_p0048a21諸大德!會即便會,切莫眼目定動,見即瞎,聞即聾。若J40nB475_p0048a22也錯過,萬劫難逢;脫或未然,志心諦聽。」便說戒。
J40nB475_p0048a23小參。以拂子打圓相,云:「月到天心處。」拂一拂,曰:「風來J40nB475_p0048a24水面時。」良久,曰:「這般清意味,料得少人知。」一僧禮拜J40nB475_p0048a25歸位,師曰:「者是那一味?」僧擬議,師曰:「料得少人知。」
J40nB475_p0048a26解冬期,小參。「洞簾高捲,布袋打開,去歲船來陸來,今J40nB475_p0048a27朝東去西去,明眼人隨處作主,死禪和逐境飄流。雖J40nB475_p0048a28然如是,還須照顧話頭。且道是甚麼話頭?」以拄杖作J40nB475_p0048a29挑行李勢。
住青雲菴
J40nB475_p0048b01小參。「昨日雨,今朝雷,何須特地著疑猜?男兒自有衝J40nB475_p0048b02天志,堪笑無端被活埋。眾中有不被活埋者麼?」良久,J40nB475_p0048b03云:「蒼天,蒼天。」
J40nB475_p0048b04解制,小參。豎拄杖曰:「木上座或時為雨為霖,普資萬J40nB475_p0048b05象;或時為祥為瑞,廣庇群生;或包括乾坤,絲毫不洩;J40nB475_p0048b06或展開法界,物色齊明。雖然理事渾融,正偏兼帶,且J40nB475_p0048b07道解制一句又作麼生?橫擔楖栗無拘束,一任東西J40nB475_p0048b08南北遊。」
J40nB475_p0048b09小參。舉:「昔有二僧各住菴,旬日不會。一日相見,上菴J40nB475_p0048b10主乃問:『多時不見,在菴中作甚麼?』下菴主曰:『在菴裡J40nB475_p0048b11造個無縫塔。』上菴主曰:『某甲也要造個,就師借個樣J40nB475_p0048b12子可不?』下菴主曰:『何不早道?恰被人借去也。』二老雖J40nB475_p0048b13則明穿玉線、暗度金針,未免遞相鈍置。試問諸人:上J40nB475_p0048b14菴主與麼問、下菴主與麼答,且道是借伊樣、不借伊J40nB475_p0048b15樣?若撿點得出,許汝具一隻眼。」
住快樂菴
J40nB475_p0048b17開爐,小參。「大道絕偏圓,非耳目之所到;玄機超物表,J40nB475_p0048b18豈情量之能該?直饒見色明心,猶是認賊為子;假使J40nB475_p0048b19聞聲悟道,終成指奴作郎。體露真常,未是純清絕點;J40nB475_p0048b20機輪活脫,早成滯殼迷封。若是出格英靈,斷不墮此J40nB475_p0048b21窠臼。所以道:『末後一句,始到牢關;把斷要津,不通凡J40nB475_p0048b22聖。』雖然如是,猶有向上一竅在。且如何是向上一竅?」J40nB475_p0048b23喝一喝,下座。
J40nB475_p0048b24起七,小參。「諸禪德!要明此個大事,貴乎自信自肯,猛J40nB475_p0048b25著精彩,將從前習染底、學解底、積蓄底、冊子上看底、J40nB475_p0048b26閒談中記底、善知識口邊聞底,及四大五蘊、六根六J40nB475_p0048b27塵、明暗色空、是非得失,盡情收作一束,拋向東洋大J40nB475_p0048b28海,單單靠著本參話頭,行住坐臥、折旋俯仰、穿衣喫J40nB475_p0048b29飯、屙屎放尿,畢竟是個甚麼?孜孜無間,念念不停,時J40nB475_p0048b30時刻刻追拶到結角羅紋處,更須努力一拶。㘞!原來J40nB475_p0048c01腳跟下自有通天活路。若不藍田射石虎,何人知是J40nB475_p0048c02李將軍?」
J40nB475_p0048c03理山,上梁,小參。「靈源不昧,萬古徽猷;正眼頓開,十方J40nB475_p0048c04洞徹。東邊龍吟霧起,西邊虎嘯風生。且道中間聻?」驀J40nB475_p0048c05卓拄杖,曰:「秪奉一人天地貴,從教諸道自分權。」便昇J40nB475_p0048c06梁。
J40nB475_p0048c07避世小參。召眾曰:「諸禪德!本源國土太平麼?若太平,J40nB475_p0048c08正好喫鐵釘飯、嚼木札羹,忽然嚼破舌頭,自然蕭然J40nB475_p0048c09物外,一任楗椎龍象、陶鑄聖凡,在在稱尊、門門作主。J40nB475_p0048c10且道如何是蕭然物外一句?長安雖鬧,我國晏然。」
J40nB475_p0048c11小參。「達磨老子昔年將一隻履放在白雲峰頂,幾千J40nB475_p0048c12年來風吹日晒、雨打霜侵,竟無有人識得,今日覿面J40nB475_p0048c13拈來。」遂以拄杖作挑勢,曰:「看,看!不是皮造,亦非布成。J40nB475_p0048c14還有識得者麼?無則西歸去也。」便下座。
晚參
J40nB475_p0048c16晚參。舉:「南泉曰:『王老師自小養一頭水牯牛,擬向溪J40nB475_p0048c17東牧,不免犯國王水草;擬向溪西牧,不免犯國王水J40nB475_p0048c18草,不如隨分納些些,總不見得。』南泉垂一言半句,應J40nB475_p0048c19當與人解黏去縛、抽釘拔楔。秪如東邊也犯、西邊也J40nB475_p0048c20犯,如何得隨分納些些?若是南源者,一頭在東不東、J40nB475_p0048c21在西不西,橫身宇宙,處處逢源,動則森羅萬象悉放J40nB475_p0048c22光明,靜則凡聖含靈咸皆斂蹟。且道:與王老師相去J40nB475_p0048c23多少?」
J40nB475_p0048c24晚參。舉:「香嚴曰:『若論此事,如人上樹,口銜樹枝,腳不J40nB475_p0048c25踏枝,手不攀枝。樹下忽有人問:「如何是祖師西來意?」J40nB475_p0048c26若不對,違他所問。若對,又喪身失命。當恁麼時作麼J40nB475_p0048c27生即得?』時有虎頭上座出問曰:『樹上即不問,未上樹J40nB475_p0048c28時請和尚道。』嚴乃呵呵大笑。香嚴真如金剛圈、栗棘J40nB475_p0048c29蓬,吞吐不得。虎頭上座雖善應來機,未免遭他惑亂。J40nB475_p0048c30若遇南源,不消一個噴嚏。教他在樹上也不得,在樹J40nB475_p0049a01下也不得。看他如何合煞。」
J40nB475_p0049a02晚參。舉:「殃崛摩羅尊者因持缽到一長者家,值婦產J40nB475_p0049a03難,長者曰:『瞿曇弟子!汝為至聖,當有何法能免產難?』J40nB475_p0049a04崛曰:『我乍入道,未知此法,待我回問世尊卻來相報。』J40nB475_p0049a05及返,具事白佛,佛告殃崛:『汝速去報言:「我從賢聖劫J40nB475_p0049a06來未曾殺生。」』崛奉佛語疾往告之,其婦得聞當時分J40nB475_p0049a07娩。者則公案不惟眼中無珠者識他不得,即大慧禪J40nB475_p0049a08師曾被他惑,蓋因他如八陣圖一般,善識門戶者自J40nB475_p0049a09然出入似入無人之境,未透關隘者寧免沉迷?南源J40nB475_p0049a10當初若作殃崛,待長者恁麼問便噓一噓,管教直下J40nB475_p0049a11令產婦分娩。」
J40nB475_p0049a12起七,晚參。「換骨脫胎,自然七通八達;轉凡成聖,依然J40nB475_p0049a13落二落三。俯仰折旋,豈能羈絆;行住坐臥,孰敢羅籠。J40nB475_p0049a14若也信疑不定、心志不堅,行則逞情放意、坐則亂想J40nB475_p0049a15胡思,聞警策則憤氣翀天、遇閒談則葛藤遍地,與麼J40nB475_p0049a16參學了生脫死,直至彌勒下生。所以道:『參禪須是鐵J40nB475_p0049a17漢,著手心頭便判。直取無上菩提,一切是非莫管。』正J40nB475_p0049a18恁麼時,還有透綱的金鱗麼?」問:「結制小參即不問,打J40nB475_p0049a19七勘驗事如何?」師隨聲便打,僧便喝。師又打,僧又喝。J40nB475_p0049a20師曰:「來者裡弄鬼眼睛。」乃連棒打退。
J40nB475_p0049a21晚參。舉:「百丈上堂,有一老人隨眾聽法,一日眾退,惟J40nB475_p0049a22老人不退,丈問:『汝是何人?』曰:『某非人也,於過去迦葉J40nB475_p0049a23佛時曾住此山,因學人問:「大修行人還落因果也無?」J40nB475_p0049a24某對曰:「不落因果。」遂五百生墮野狐身。今請和尚代J40nB475_p0049a25轉一語,貴脫野狐身。』丈曰:『汝問。』老人曰:『大修行人還J40nB475_p0049a26落因果也無?』丈曰:『不昧因果。』老人於言下大悟,作禮J40nB475_p0049a27曰:『某已脫野狐身,住在山後,乞師依亡僧津送。』丈乃J40nB475_p0049a28領眾至後山巖下,挑出一死狐,遂依法火葬。」師舉畢,J40nB475_p0049a29問傍僧曰:「夜來老鼠咬破油罈,你等知麼?」一僧曰:「不J40nB475_p0049a30知。」師隨聲打曰:「墮也,墮也。」復以杖作挑起勢曰:「百丈J40nB475_p0049b01火葬,我者裡活埋。」又僧出曰:「幸和尚高鑑。」遂抽身歸J40nB475_p0049b02眾,師曰:「一隊野狐。」拈棒一齊打散。
J40nB475_p0049b03晚參。舉:「乾峰示眾曰:『舉一不得舉二,放過一著落在J40nB475_p0049b04第二。』雲門曰:『昨日有人從天台來,卻往徑山去。』峰曰:J40nB475_p0049b05『明日不得普請。』一個高高峰頂立不露頭,一個深深J40nB475_p0049b06海底行不溼腳。山僧則不然。」乃顧左右曰:「路遠夜長J40nB475_p0049b07休把火,大家吹滅暗中行。」
J40nB475_p0049b08晚參。按拄杖,曰:「進堂一七了也,本參還破了也未?若J40nB475_p0049b09破,一任放曠於蝸角尖頭,橫身於蟭螟眼裏,拈兔角J40nB475_p0049b10而剝落鶻臭汗衫,以龜毛而牽轉黑漆崑崙。直饒恁J40nB475_p0049b11麼,猶是作略邊事,須知更有格外一機在。策起眉毛,J40nB475_p0049b12聽取一偈:『脊梁鐵鑄緊捏拳,細究孃胎未出前,忽爾J40nB475_p0049b13踏翻無縫罅,峰頭浪湧潑中天。』」
J40nB475_p0049b14晚參。舉:「徑山示眾曰:『有一人一生修善,有一人一生J40nB475_p0049b15造惡。善者一日偶犯不與取戒,惡者一念了悟自心。J40nB475_p0049b16犯戒者即名為賊,了悟者即名為佛。二人同到徑山,J40nB475_p0049b17著那一人即是?著善人而卻惡人,則是著賊而卻佛;J40nB475_p0049b18著惡人而卻善人,則是怕惡而欺善。若二人俱著,則J40nB475_p0049b19佛、賊不分;若二人俱不著,則善、惡不明。若決定指佛J40nB475_p0049b20是惡人,則招謗佛之愆,入地獄如箭射;若指賊是善J40nB475_p0049b21人,未有善人而做賊者,當人未具智眼在。到者裡還J40nB475_p0049b22有斷得者麼?若斷不得,徑山為諸人斷卻。賊是善人J40nB475_p0049b23為,佛是惡人做,佛賊善惡人,不出者兩個。還會麼?』驀J40nB475_p0049b24拈拄杖,面前畫一畫,曰:『建昌紙貴,一狀領過。』徑山無J40nB475_p0049b25端向善惡途中惑亂人家男女,末後不得一狀領過,J40nB475_p0049b26堪作甚麼?若到南源,未免喫棒有分。」遂豎拂子,召眾,J40nB475_p0049b27曰:「此是善耶?惡耶?佛耶?賊耶?」揮拂子,曰:「雲中石筍莖J40nB475_p0049b28莖嫩,燄裏水花朵朵紅。」
J40nB475_p0049b29晚參。舉子胡看狗公案畢,乃曰:「子胡狗子,古今孰不J40nB475_p0049b30遭他毒口?若遇南源,待云:『看狗。』便好踏倒曰:『畜生,人J40nB475_p0049c01也不識。』免使逢人亂咬。」
J40nB475_p0049c02晚參。「無毛鷂子飛上天,翀破虛空作兩邊,須彌燈王J40nB475_p0049c03忙去捉,鍼鋒頭上走三千。」喝一喝。
示眾
J40nB475_p0049c05示眾,舉:「世尊曰:『如我按指,海印發光。汝暫舉心,塵勞J40nB475_p0049c06先起。』黃面瞿曇無端打作兩橛,未免遭人檢點。」豎拂J40nB475_p0049c07曰:「海印塵勞,總在拂子頭上。」擲下曰:「看。」
J40nB475_p0049c08大士誕日,示眾。「鳥啼花笑,入理深談;竹韻松吟,圓通J40nB475_p0049c09妙旨。跨金獅於千峰頂上,卻在十字街頭;騎石虎於J40nB475_p0049c10十字街頭,卻在千峰頂上。不是神通,亦非妙用。諸人J40nB475_p0049c11信得及麼?如不信,問取觀音大士。」
J40nB475_p0049c12戒壇,示眾。「凜凜朔風,紛紛瑞雪,毘盧遮那凍破面門,J40nB475_p0049c13清淨法身寒徹骨髓,毘尼境界齊彰,木叉家風大振。J40nB475_p0049c14於斯會得,撩衣護缽總屬千花臺藏,開單展具無非J40nB475_p0049c15心地法門,五篇七聚總是閒言,輕重開遮悉歸剩語。J40nB475_p0049c16其或未然……」拈袈裟,曰:「者裏不得錯過。」
J40nB475_p0049c17示眾。舉:「金陵則監寺問青峰云:『如何是學人自己?』峰J40nB475_p0049c18曰:『丙丁童子來求火。』後謁法眼,舉前話,眼云:『上座作J40nB475_p0049c19麼生會?』則曰:『丙丁屬火,以火覓火,如將自己覓自己。』J40nB475_p0049c20眼曰:『恁麼會又爭得?』則曰:『某甲只恁麼,和尚作麼生?』J40nB475_p0049c21眼曰:『汝問我,我為汝道。』則曰:『如何是學人自己?』眼曰:J40nB475_p0049c22『丙丁童子來求火。』則於言下頓悟。西峰玅曰:『者則公J40nB475_p0049c23案,自古至今覓一個不錯會底人,如星中揀月。秪如J40nB475_p0049c24則監寺於法眼言下悟去,要且不是順硃具眼的,試J40nB475_p0049c25辨看。』」師呵呵大笑,曰:「西峰老漢龍頭蛇尾,直饒辨得,J40nB475_p0049c26也是泥裡洗土塊。」
J40nB475_p0049c27示眾。舉:「七賢女同游屍阤林,一女曰:『屍在者裡,人在J40nB475_p0049c28甚麼處?』一女曰:『作麼?作麼?』諸姊諦觀,悉皆悟道,感得J40nB475_p0049c29天帝釋散花供養。女曰:『空中散花者何人?』曰:『某乃天J40nB475_p0049c30帝釋,見諸姊悟道,特來散花供養。凡諸姊所需,我皆J40nB475_p0050a01供給。』女曰:『我家四事七珍悉皆具足,惟要三般物:一、J40nB475_p0050a02要無根樹子一株;二、要無陰陽地一片;三、要叫不響J40nB475_p0050a03山谷一所。』釋曰:『一切珍寶我皆有之,此三般物而我J40nB475_p0050a04實無。』女曰:『汝若無,爭解濟人?』」師曰:「七賢女自不識羞,J40nB475_p0050a05拋卻家中寶藏,無端走在屍阤林裡,嗅得些臭氣,粧J40nB475_p0050a06嬌賣俏,撒盡風流。憍尸迦貪他小利,被索三般物,便J40nB475_p0050a07乃慳吝不捨,未免取笑傍觀。南源當時若在,見伊恁J40nB475_p0050a08麼索,即與三頓痛棒。且看七賢女面皮安放何處?」
J40nB475_p0050a09示眾。「南山鱉鼻蛇,大雄山下虎,圓通死貓頭,雲門一J40nB475_p0050a10字普,此意太郎當,切忌莫莽鹵。是事且置,昨日有人J40nB475_p0050a11從廣西來,今朝卻往湖廣去,且道他所傳何事?若有J40nB475_p0050a12信可通,未免傳言送語;若無信可通,可惜空費草鞋J40nB475_p0050a13錢。去此二途,諸人試定當看。」

J40nB475_p0050b02示眾。舉:「僧問雲門:『達磨九年面壁,意旨如何?』門曰:『念J40nB475_p0050b03七。』」師曰:「三九念七,絕毫絕釐。有漏木杓,無漏笊籬。」
J40nB475_p0050b04示眾。舉:「僧問趙州:『學人乍入叢林,乞師指示。』州曰:『喫J40nB475_p0050b05粥也未?』曰:『喫粥了。』州曰:『洗缽盂去。』古今拈頌者極多,J40nB475_p0050b06中的者亦鮮。山僧不惜眉毛,特為註破:和尚合掌,道J40nB475_p0050b07士擎拳。下腳著地,抬頭見天。更問如何,十萬八千。」
J40nB475_p0050b08示眾。「純清絕點,徒增性海之波;離相離名,早曳靈龜J40nB475_p0050b09之尾。爭如任情放去,隨分收來,縱奪殺活而玉轉珠J40nB475_p0050b10回,倒弄橫拈而珠回玉轉?還有動絃別調者麼?夾路J40nB475_p0050b11桃花風雨後,馬蹄何處避殘紅?」
J40nB475_p0050b12示眾。師一日坐簷下,眾集,師云:「佛法遍一切處,無一J40nB475_p0050b13處而非佛法。若言其有,墮於常見;若言其無,墮於斷J40nB475_p0050b14見。言有、言無,難出四見。向者裏透脫,則面面逢渠、頭J40nB475_p0050b15頭合玅,通身慶快、脫體安然,信手拈來,無非格外真J40nB475_p0050b16機。」喝一喝,歸方丈。
J40nB475_p0050b17落堂,示眾。「那邊底過者邊來,切莫釘樁搖櫓。」一僧便J40nB475_p0050b18過。師曰:「者邊事如何?」僧無對。師曰:「隨波逐浪漢。」師復J40nB475_p0050b19曰:「者邊過那邊去。」一眾默然。師曰:「伎死禪和。」便打出J40nB475_p0050b20堂。
J40nB475_p0050b21示眾。「者件事,人人本有、個個不無,塵點劫來,自家打J40nB475_p0050b22失。今既發大願,已到曹源。你看合郡諸檀,盡力維持,J40nB475_p0050b23無非成就我等專一辦道。所謂者裏若不究根源,直J40nB475_p0050b24待當來問彌勒。設或虛消信施,唐喪光陰,他日閻使J40nB475_p0050b25君鐵算盤打算飯錢不來敲鬼骨臀,莫道佛法無靈J40nB475_p0050b26驗。」
J40nB475_p0050b27示眾。「初一纔起七,不覺七日周。未透祖師關,此心肯J40nB475_p0050b28甘休。」拈拄杖曰:「向者裏休去好。」擲拄杖。
J40nB475_p0050b29落堂,示眾。師卓拄杖曰:「此一著能大能小,能方能圓,J40nB475_p0050b30能縱能奪,能殺能活。說有則蹤跡不立,說無則遍滿J40nB475_p0050c01十方。長則尺不滿寸,短則拄地擎天。或時弘開大義,J40nB475_p0050c02或時泯滅真空。或時吞巨海,或時吐須彌。且道如今J40nB475_p0050c03在曹源手裏,又喚作甚麼舌頭短?」
J40nB475_p0050c04示眾。「雲渺渺,月皎皎,鐵蛇橫古路,行人打之遶。若是J40nB475_p0050c05獅子兒,不向那邊討。既不向那邊,者邊又作麼生?」眾J40nB475_p0050c06無對。「村兒不解鮮鱗味,辜負漁郎到渡頭。」
機緣
J40nB475_p0050c08師參大義山且拙和尚,拙曰:「那裏來?」師曰:「天圓山。」拙J40nB475_p0050c09曰:「途中事如何?」師曰:「已到此處。」拙曰:「此是甚麼處?」師J40nB475_p0050c10曰:「上是天,下是地。」拙曰:「喫茶去。」
J40nB475_p0050c11次日,和尚入禪堂,問:「者僧昨日到的那?」師曰:「將謂和J40nB475_p0050c12尚忘卻。」拙曰:「即今道一句看。」師曰:「正午時。」拙云:「如何J40nB475_p0050c13是午時底事?」師曰:「著衣過堂。」拙休去。
J40nB475_p0050c14一夕,入方丈,拙云:「近日學語者多盡認識神為主,真J40nB475_p0050c15可憐憫。」師曰:「識得不為冤。」拙曰:「汝試道看。」師曰:「一盞J40nB475_p0050c16孤燈兩岸明。」拙曰:「燈燼後如何?」師曰:「照天照地。」拙遂J40nB475_p0050c17命頌,師即頌曰:「群暗從茲盡,光輝自此生,日來月復J40nB475_p0050c18往,獨爾越常明。」
J40nB475_p0050c19一日,與居先禪師遊山,到安樂林,圍爐次,先曰:「古人J40nB475_p0050c20道:『靜夜鐘聲,寒潭月影。』隨扣擊以無虧,觸波瀾而不J40nB475_p0050c21散。此猶是生死岸頭事,如何得出生死?」師曰:「絡索不J40nB475_p0050c22少。」先曰:「汝已出生死耶?」師曰:「者漢話頭也不識。」便出。J40nB475_p0050c23先曰:「來!向火著。」師曰:「疑則別參。」先曰:「太煞滑頭。」師不J40nB475_p0050c24理。
J40nB475_p0050c25師在嶷山西堂寮,一日領眾入室,師問:「和尚未陞座,J40nB475_p0050c26某甲未入室時,且道如何接人?」山便打,曰:「正好喫棒。」J40nB475_p0050c27師接住棒,熄滅燈燭,掀倒禪床便出。山曰:「不謬為嶷J40nB475_p0050c28山西堂。」
J40nB475_p0050c29落堂。僧問:「如何是覿面句?」師曰:「殿前步雲橋。」曰:「如何J40nB475_p0050c30是末後句?」師曰:「屋後飛來石。」曰:「秪如掀翻兩頭又作J40nB475_p0051a01麼生?」師曰:「靈嶽作舞。」僧禮拜,師曰:「切莫詐明頭。」
J40nB475_p0051a02慈容問曰:「近日事秪合如是。」師曰:「汝親切道一句看。」J40nB475_p0051a03曰:「山窮水盡。」師曰:「行到山窮水盡處,須知自有轉身J40nB475_p0051a04時。如何是轉身一句?」曰:「東西南北。」師曰:「秪如四面逼J40nB475_p0051a05煞時,汝作麼生出?」曰:「一線通霄。」師曰:「線斷後如何?」容J40nB475_p0051a06擬議,師震聲一喝。
J40nB475_p0051a07息念問:「入火不燒,入水不溺,乞師指示。」師拈竹篦曰:J40nB475_p0051a08「喚作竹篦則觸,不喚作竹篦則背,你作麼生會?」念禮J40nB475_p0051a09拜,師曰:「汝曾在甚處住過?」曰:「與和尚同住。」師曰:「山僧J40nB475_p0051a10住甚麼處?」僧曰:「適纔吃瓜子,咬破舌頭。」師曰:「秪如來J40nB475_p0051a11時無口,舌頭在甚麼處?」僧擬議,師便打。僧禮拜曰:「當J40nB475_p0051a12面不識。」師曰:「自供免罪。」
J40nB475_p0051a13靈芽入室,問:「一拳擊碎虛空,竹篦安向何處?」師曰:「竹J40nB475_p0051a14篦且置,還我碎的虛空來。」僧一喝,師以手撥空,曰:「竹J40nB475_p0051a15篦聻?」僧擬議,師喝出。
J40nB475_p0051a16師攜吼震無諍遊山,垂問曰:「千峰萬峰,為甚此峰獨J40nB475_p0051a17峻?」諍曰:「也在和尚足下。」師曰:「身遍十虛,為甚麼那峰J40nB475_p0051a18不到?」諍曰:「無棲泊處。」師曰:「萬峰頂上一團瓢,為甚麼J40nB475_p0051a19露而不蓋?」諍曰:「八面玲瓏。」師曰:「未在,更道。」諍曰:「不辭J40nB475_p0051a20向和尚道,恐上紙墨。」師休去。
J40nB475_p0051a21別牧入室作禮曰:「今日親見和尚。」師曰:「座上無老僧,J40nB475_p0051a22目前無闍黎,汝作麼生見?」牧曰:「無字也是多的。」師曰:J40nB475_p0051a23「又道親見和尚。」牧曰:「和尚是何心行?」師曰:「更須親切J40nB475_p0051a24道將來。」牧拂袖便行。師曰:「放過一著。」
J40nB475_p0051a25巨聲聞:「和尚終日教某甲做工夫,是何心行?」師曰:「你J40nB475_p0051a26見個甚麼便恁麼道?」曰:「一物不存。」師拈甌曰:「這個是J40nB475_p0051a27甚麼?」聲擬進語,師擲碎曰:「恁麼始得。」聲禮拜。
J40nB475_p0051a28僧入室,問曰:「我者裏內不放出、外不放入,你從何來?」J40nB475_p0051a29僧以手打圓相,畫破叉手而立。師曰:「你又到者裏作J40nB475_p0051a30麼?」曰:「若不經行陣,爭得立功勳?」便退。師復落堂,問:「我J40nB475_p0051b01的是我的,你的聻?」僧進前端立,曰:「一串穿卻。」師曰:「如J40nB475_p0051b02何是渠今正是我?」曰:「某甲不敢道。」師曰:「如何不道?」曰:J40nB475_p0051b03「道著即禍生。」師曰:「且放過。」
J40nB475_p0051b04僧問:「如何是三腳驢?」師曰:「步步顛。」曰:「如何是犀牛扇?」J40nB475_p0051b05師曰:「撦破了。」
J40nB475_p0051b06僧問:「爐韝弘開,煆盡聖凡。秪如沒身心人來,和尚如J40nB475_p0051b07何安置?」師曰:「不可錯怪山僧。」曰:「不到紅爐裏,焉知火J40nB475_p0051b08後毛?」師便打。
J40nB475_p0051b09打七,落堂。楊居士出,師按住曰:「腳跟下親切道來。」士J40nB475_p0051b10曰:「夜半日頭紅。」師曰:「日落後如何?」曰:「照天照地。」師曰:J40nB475_p0051b11「天崩地裂,照個甚麼?」士喝,師便打。
J40nB475_p0051b12謝守戎遊竹石齋問德山托缽公案,師舉手曰:「缽聻?」J40nB475_p0051b13守罔措,師曰:「缽尚不知,托個甚麼?」曰:「畢竟為某說破。」J40nB475_p0051b14師曰:「少間為公說。」
J40nB475_p0051b15守又問曰:「聞馬祖接石鞏甚奇。」師曰:「那個男兒不丈J40nB475_p0051b16夫?」曰:「馬祖射一群,某只射半個。」師曰:「山僧半個也無,J40nB475_p0051b17汝如何下手?」守躊躇,師打曰:「又射殺一個。」
J40nB475_p0051b18守復問:「女子出定,如何是女子定?」師曰:「缽盂安柄。」曰:J40nB475_p0051b19「罔明為甚麼出得?」師曰:「春回花自開。」曰:「文殊為甚麼J40nB475_p0051b20出不得?」師曰:「秋到葉還落。」曰:「某甲不會,乞為我說。」師J40nB475_p0051b21曰:「俗氣不忘。」曰:「和尚不說,今日辜負我也。」師曰:「爭怪J40nB475_p0051b22別人。」遂示以偈曰:「個中一著許誰知,直下承當早已J40nB475_p0051b23遲。若向言前親薦得,再來棒下碎離微。」
J40nB475_p0051b24高內翰奉J40nB475_p0051b25命祭舜陵,差專使程天祚、劉機先齎法物金縷過參。纔J40nB475_p0051b26見,祚便問:「和尚賺我來,賺我來。」師曰:「自起自倒漢。」曰:J40nB475_p0051b27「和尚好山水。」師曰:「莫眼花。」曰:「某甲失利。」茶次,曰:「和尚J40nB475_p0051b28名震天庭,德欽寰宇,誠不易到者田地。」師曰:「耳聞不J40nB475_p0051b29如目見。」曰:「見後如何?」師曰:「瞎。」曰:「某甲遠來,和尚放寬J40nB475_p0051b30些地步。」師曰:「何物不容?」曰:「恩主聞道風,差某遠來,和J40nB475_p0051c01尚將何答寄?」師曰:「長江流不盡,日月照無窮。」曰:「即此J40nB475_p0051c02便是?別有長處?」師曰:「不是知音者,徒勞話歲寒。」曰:「如J40nB475_p0051c03何是西來意?」師曰:「山花開似錦,澗水湛如藍。」曰:「如何J40nB475_p0051c04是祖師心?」師曰:「一莖眉毛重千觔。」曰:「某甲即得,外人J40nB475_p0051c05聞知,笑和尚去在。」師曰:「罕遇知音。」曰:「遠行足倦,暫且J40nB475_p0051c06違教。」師曰:「放過即不可。」便打。
J40nB475_p0051c07次早曰:「昨日公案未圓。」師曰:「仔細說來。」曰:「碗裏飯,甌J40nB475_p0051c08裏茶,事如何?」師曰:「細嚼味長。」曰:「和尚說道理即得,若J40nB475_p0051c09在曹洞宗,欠綿密在。」師呵呵大笑曰:「大似喫飯不得,J40nB475_p0051c10強道不饑。」復曰:「汝曾見甚麼人來?」曰:「和尚不妨疑著。」J40nB475_p0051c11師打曰:「初生之犢不識虎。」曰:J40nB475_p0051c12「草皇帝供養諸大善知識,有何功德?」師曰:「天晴日頭出,落J40nB475_p0051c13雨地下溼。」曰:「即今J40nB475_p0051c14元皇向甚麼處安身立命?」師曰:「竹放雲邊浪,松收月下濤。」J40nB475_p0051c15曰:「此語涉那一宗?」師曰:「梅花滿地草鞋香。」曰:「某甲還J40nB475_p0051c16京,有問:『南源佛法,將何詶答?』」師曰:「牙齒一具骨,耳朵J40nB475_p0051c17兩片皮。」
J40nB475_p0051c18吳內翰出使安南,問:「入境聞德風,似優曇花;入寺閱J40nB475_p0051c19尊錄,如摩尼珠。頌云:『石女梳粧越樣新,月眉雲鬢彩J40nB475_p0051c20霞裙。於中那轉秋波趣,不是風流人豈明?』此頌句到、J40nB475_p0051c21意到、理到、事到。請問:如何是那轉秋波趣?」師云:「只許J40nB475_p0051c22佳人獨自知。」曰:「不是風流人豈明,又作麼生?」師曰:「深J40nB475_p0051c23領來問。」曰:「如何是石女梳粧?」師曰:「燄裏冰花。」曰:「如何J40nB475_p0051c24是月眉雲鬢?」師曰:「禾鍼穿雨線。」內翰遂酬偈曰:「千里J40nB475_p0051c25同風意越倫,太行山遇普州人。知音何必重重舉?達J40nB475_p0051c26者須知暗裏驚。」
佛事
J40nB475_p0051c28興隆開鐘版。「佛祖規模,人天號令,人人透頂透底,個J40nB475_p0051c29個徹始徹終。欲契洞上家風,試看興隆作略。」遂擊鐘J40nB475_p0051c30版。
J40nB475_p0052a01伽藍,陞座。「凜凜忠心,衛皇圖而永固;堂堂正氣,護佛J40nB475_p0052a02國以攸清。昔年普靜言邊鼻孔打失,今日嶷山堂上J40nB475_p0052a03正眼豁開。」揮拂子,曰:「道場能作主,化外自來賓。」
J40nB475_p0052a04百丈澗祖忌日上供。「洞山果、曹山酒、金牛飯、趙州茶、J40nB475_p0052a05百千玅味,無量珍饈。且道納受者誰?」合掌曰:「唵 誐誐J40nB475_p0052a06曩 三婆嚩 伐日囉斛。」
J40nB475_p0052a07靈機火。拈炬曰:「生平活潑潑,今日寂寥寥。雖然來去J40nB475_p0052a08自由,猶欠末後一著。如何是末後一著?」擲炬曰:「一爐J40nB475_p0052a09紅焰翻身轉,倒跨赤龍化大千。」
J40nB475_p0052a10晏然都寺起龕。「三處叢林功最深,精勤誓入普賢門。J40nB475_p0052a11於今撩起還鄉去,留得馨香四海聞。」
J40nB475_p0052a12燈明火。「燈明燈明,爍破面門。徹骨徹髓,曜古輝今。」
J40nB475_p0052a13恒修起龕。「金風急,樹凋零,籬下黃菊點點金,還鄉句J40nB475_p0052a14子分明示。」以拄杖指曰:「直往西方徑路行。」
J40nB475_p0052a15自誠火。「自誠自誠,戒德水清。了無回互,率性直行。贈J40nB475_p0052a16君一把火,光前絕後人。」
J40nB475_p0052a17鳴岐唐護法掩棺。以拂子指棺曰:「唐護法會麼?住世J40nB475_p0052a18英雄,到者裏全身放下;出群豪傑,於斯時一句全提。J40nB475_p0052a19知幻即離,猶存幻知;幻離即覺,尚餘覺照。畢竟如何?J40nB475_p0052a20蓋地遮天無別事,為人自肯乃方親。」
J40nB475_p0052a21大根王護法起棺。「出世遼東,入滅西粵。既生死無定,J40nB475_p0052a22任去來自由。棄富貴而出塵表,頓契色原非實。捨功J40nB475_p0052a23名而趨淨土,了知空亦何真。」以杖擊棺曰:「出此解脫J40nB475_p0052a24門,直超菩提路。」
J40nB475_p0052a25貓落湯死。舉火:「南泉刀下全身露,洪聖鍋中更出奇。J40nB475_p0052a26珍重者回毛脫盡,紅爐焰裏好安居。」
拈古
J40nB475_p0052a28舉:「青原思禪師問六祖大師:『當何所務即不落階級?』J40nB475_p0052a29祖曰:『汝曾作甚麼來?』曰:『聖諦亦不為。』祖曰:『聖諦不為,J40nB475_p0052a30落何階級?』原曰:『聖諦尚不為,何階級之有?』祖曰:『如是J40nB475_p0052b01如是,善自護持。』蕩空凡聖,還他青原。揀別龍象,須是J40nB475_p0052b02曹溪。然雖如是,龍歸大海波濤靜,雲到蒼梧氣象閑。」
J40nB475_p0052b03舉:「僧問趙州:『萬法歸一,一歸何處?』州曰:『我在青州做J40nB475_p0052b04一領布衫,重七觔。』觔兩分明,不無趙州。若問山僧:『萬J40nB475_p0052b05法歸一,一歸何處?』只向他道:『山前石頭,大的大,小的J40nB475_p0052b06小。』」
J40nB475_p0052b07舉:「臺山婆子因僧問:『臺山路向甚麼處去?』婆云:『驀直J40nB475_p0052b08去。』僧纔行,婆云:『好個師僧,又與麼去。』後有舉似趙州,J40nB475_p0052b09州曰:『待我去勘過者婆子。』明日便去,亦如是問,婆亦J40nB475_p0052b10如是對。州歸,謂眾云:『臺山婆子!我為汝勘破了也。』趙J40nB475_p0052b11州婆子,一對無孔鐵鎚,且道勘破那個?」
J40nB475_p0052b12舉:「溈山示眾云:『老僧遷化後,往山前檀那家作頭水J40nB475_p0052b13牯牛,左肋書五字云「溈山僧某甲」。正恁麼時,道是溈J40nB475_p0052b14山僧,卻是水牯牛;道是水牯牛,卻是溈山僧。』」師云:「道J40nB475_p0052b15是溈山僧,卻是水牯牛,恰;道是水牯牛,卻是溈山僧,J40nB475_p0052b16恰。當時若下得這兩個恰字,教他脫溈山僧也不得,J40nB475_p0052b17脫水牯牛也不得。且道利害在甚麼處?」
J40nB475_p0052b18舉:「德山一日托缽至法堂,雪峰遂問:『老漢!鐘未鳴、鼓J40nB475_p0052b19未響,托缽向甚處去?』山低頭便歸方丈。峰舉似巖頭,J40nB475_p0052b20頭曰:『大小德山未會末後句在。』山令侍者喚來問:『汝J40nB475_p0052b21不肯老僧那?』頭密啟其意,山乃休去。明日陞堂,果與J40nB475_p0052b22尋常不同。頭至僧堂前,撫掌大笑曰:『且喜老漢會末J40nB475_p0052b23後句。雖然,也只得三年活。』者公案卻是好笑,且道笑J40nB475_p0052b24個甚麼?笑他父子潑油救火、平地興波,明眼人前轉J40nB475_p0052b25見敗缺。」
J40nB475_p0052b26舉:「芙蓉楷侍投子游園次,子度拄杖與楷,楷接便隨J40nB475_p0052b27行。子曰:『理合與麼。』楷曰:『與和尚提鞋挈杖,不為分外。』J40nB475_p0052b28子曰:『有同行在。』楷曰:『那一人不受教。』子休去。至晚問J40nB475_p0052b29楷:『早來說話未盡在。』楷云:『請和尚舉。』子曰:『卯生日,戌J40nB475_p0052b30生月。』楷即點燈來。子曰:『汝上來下去,總不徒然。』楷曰:J40nB475_p0052c01『在和尚左右,理合如此。』子曰:『奴兒婢子,誰家屋裡無?』J40nB475_p0052c02楷曰:『和尚年尊,缺他不得。』子曰:『得與麼殷勤?』楷曰:『報J40nB475_p0052c03恩有分。』動絃別調,玉轉珠回,線去鍼來,明投暗合。投J40nB475_p0052c04子芙蓉之謂歟?」
