J39nB470_p0931a05據室。云:「德山入門便棒,臨濟入門便喝,二大老雖是J39nB470_p0931a06剿絕為人,爭奈作威作勢?悅上座則不然,無論是聖J39nB470_p0931a07是凡,到此總教平展去也。何故?相逢自有知音知,何J39nB470_p0931a08必清風動天地?」
J39nB470_p0931a09當日上堂。拈香祝聖畢,再拈云:「此瓣香始從戎馬隊J39nB470_p0931a10中輥出,向深山窮谷裏堅培,不意陡遭個無面目底J39nB470_p0931a11老漢毒手花劈了也,至今在處難藏、欲隱彌露,直得J39nB470_p0931a12對眾拈出,此是第一回爇向爐中,耑申供養本山堂J39nB470_p0931a13上傳臨濟正宗三十四世本師善權位先老和尚,用J39nB470_p0931a14酬法乳之恩。」斂衣就座。維那白椎竟,師乃拈起拄杖J39nB470_p0931a15云:「啟祖翁門戶,展古佛家風。」卓一卓云:「闢人天正路,J39nB470_p0931a16掃蕩邪宗。」又卓一卓云:「正法眼藏一時流通,是汝諸J39nB470_p0931a17人還知松巋拄杖子為人落處麼?若向者裏承當得J39nB470_p0931a18底,未免朝打三千、暮打八百;若向背地裏吐舌底,亦J39nB470_p0931a19與三十棒未必肯容。何故?」復卓一卓云:「天上有星皆J39nB470_p0931a20拱北,人間無水不朝東。」舉:「保壽開堂,三聖推出一僧,J39nB470_p0931a21壽便打,聖云:『與麼為人,瞎卻鎮州一城人眼去在。』壽J39nB470_p0931a22擲下拄杖歸方丈。」師云:「二大老恁麼作略,將謂據令J39nB470_p0931a23而行,爭奈傍觀者哂?松巋門下只好一坑埋卻,且道J39nB470_p0931a24他過在甚麼處?具眼者試定當看。」
J39nB470_p0931a25上堂。「德山棒如雨點,臨濟喝似雷奔,何殊亂世英雄?J39nB470_p0931a26釋迦摩竭掩室,淨名毘耶杜口,正似太平奸細。直教J39nB470_p0931a27列在下風,方乃揭示向上巴鼻。且道如何是向上巴J39nB470_p0931a28鼻?」良久,云:「直饒向者裏薦得分明,也是一場特地。」
J39nB470_p0931a29佛成道日,大棟胡居士設齋,請上堂。「六載辛勤,識得J39nB470_p0931a30不為冤咎;明星一睹,無端打失自家眼睛。奇哉三歎,J39nB470_p0931b01塗污大地眾生不少。松巋恁麼批判,且道還是有成J39nB470_p0931b02褫耶?無成褫耶?若道無成褫,猶是孤負釋迦老子;若J39nB470_p0931b03道有成褫,又是埋沒己靈。正恁麼時,且道有成褫底J39nB470_p0931b04是?無成褫底是?試定當看。分明月在梅稍上,看到梅J39nB470_p0931b05稍早已遲。」
J39nB470_p0931b06上堂。「聞聲悟道,見色明心。」遂喝一喝,云:「者個不是聲。」J39nB470_p0931b07卓拄杖一下,云:「者個不是色。聲色示了,諸人還悟也J39nB470_p0931b08未?即此不悟,孤負古人;即此悟去,孤負山僧。且道悟J39nB470_p0931b09底是?不悟底是?檢點將來,悟底也與你有分,不悟底J39nB470_p0931b10也與你有分。且道分償在甚麼處?」良久,復卓杖,云:「見J39nB470_p0931b11義勇為真勇士,臨機不變始驚群。」
J39nB470_p0931b12上堂。「廬陵米、鎮州蘿蔔,山僧尋常受用得快,今日特J39nB470_p0931b13為諸人拈掇。還會麼?若會得,且許途中受用;若也不J39nB470_p0931b14會,三個成群、四個作隊則且置,秪如山僧自納敗缺,J39nB470_p0931b15諸人還知落處麼?」良久,云:「三生六十劫。咄!」
J39nB470_p0931b16安南陶居士發心來山塑佛,並取法名設齋供眾,請J39nB470_p0931b17上堂。「塑佛取名,兩彩一賽。落賺山僧,無端納敗。撾鼓J39nB470_p0931b18陞堂,人天集會。一問一荅,造妖捏怪。正眼觀來,瞎驢J39nB470_p0931b19趁隊。雖然如是,福田山上、功德林中也要布些光彩。J39nB470_p0931b20甚麼光彩?」卓拄杖,云:「天共白雲曉,水和明月流。」
J39nB470_p0931b21上堂。以拄杖向左邊一卓,云:「者個便是照用料揀,玄J39nB470_p0931b22要主賓。」右邊一卓,云:「者個便是妙協兼帶,君臣道合。」J39nB470_p0931b23面前一卓,云:「雲門圓相圈、法眼六相意並諸子百家J39nB470_p0931b24奇巧技藝總在者裏,一擊百雜碎了也。撒向諸人面J39nB470_p0931b25前,急須薦取始得。不然,冷眼看他人富貴,等閒無奈J39nB470_p0931b26襆頭何。」
J39nB470_p0931b27上堂。「信受奉行底,總為業識忙忙,無本可據;掉頭不J39nB470_p0931b28顧底,孤迥迥、俏巍巍,直得靈山受記。既然如此,且道J39nB470_p0931b29有何憑據?」以拂子作吹勢,云:「囉囉哩哩囉囉哩。」
J39nB470_p0931b30上堂。卓拄杖一下,云:「三世諸佛也如是,歷代祖師也J39nB470_p0931c01如是,天下老和尚也如是,悅上座到者裏也不得不J39nB470_p0931c02如是。且道如是個甚麼?」復卓一卓,云:「我見燈明佛,本J39nB470_p0931c03光瑞如此。」
J39nB470_p0931c04四月八日,上堂。「黃面瞿曇當年此日降誕,天下叢林J39nB470_p0931c05年年此日慶祝,故我眾居士宿值德本,不負勝因,也J39nB470_p0931c06於此日發心來山設齋供眾,敦請山僧上堂,無非也J39nB470_p0931c07要稱羨雲門好手、無非也要掀揚瞿曇指天指地,所J39nB470_p0931c08以山僧直得有條攀條、無條攀例。」驀拈拄杖,云:「看,看!J39nB470_p0931c09世尊生也。」卓一卓,云:「雲門來也。諸人向者裏與二大J39nB470_p0931c10老相見則且置,秪如未離兜率已降皇宮,未出母胎J39nB470_p0931c11度人已畢,又作麼生領會?若也會,三個成群,四個作J39nB470_p0931c12隊;若也不會,老君原在青牛背。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB470_p0931c13上堂。「禪禪禪,語默動靜體安然。道道道,喫飯穿衣誰J39nB470_p0931c14欠少。既然如是,因甚麼善財童子歷一百一十城煙J39nB470_p0931c15冰,參五十三員善知識,然後復見文殊,方纔得了。且J39nB470_p0931c16道了後如何?花開上林不是春,日出扶桑不是早。」
J39nB470_p0931c17上堂。「十五日已前,日出照不著。十五日已後,日落不J39nB470_p0931c18相隨。正當十五日,明頭來明頭合,暗頭來暗頭合。正J39nB470_p0931c19與麼時,明暗不相奪,歷歷無向背。既無向背,無處不J39nB470_p0931c20會。如何會?日高花影重,風暖鳥聲碎。」
J39nB470_p0931c21上堂。拈起拂子云:「是大神咒,是大明咒,是無上咒,是J39nB470_p0931c22無等等咒,能除一切苦,真實不虛,故說般若波羅密J39nB470_p0931c23多咒,即說咒曰時,是汝諸人作麼生會?若也會,揭諦J39nB470_p0931c24揭諦,波羅揭諦,波羅僧揭諦;若也不會,菩提薩婆訶。」
J39nB470_p0931c25佛誕日,上堂。「雲散長空淨,煙消宇宙寬,當年今日日,J39nB470_p0931c26悉達降人間。瞻仰從他處,抑揚在我邊,燈籠鼓掌笑,J39nB470_p0931c27露柱蹙眉憐。且道笑個甚麼?笑他指天指地太無端。」J39nB470_p0931c28喝一喝,下座。
J39nB470_p0931c29元旦日,上堂。「新年頭佛法,鏡清道有,也好與三十棒;J39nB470_p0931c30明教道無,也好與三十棒。何故?佛法論個甚麼有無?J39nB470_p0932a01直饒道個不有不無底,正好擘脊便棒。何謂如此?」卓J39nB470_p0932a02杖一下,云:「拄杖開封,當人不讓。」
J39nB470_p0932a03上堂。「一句無私,當揚顯露。千差頓斷,洞徹十虛。亙古J39nB470_p0932a04圓明,纖毫無隱。所以道,無量法門,全歸方寸。河沙妙J39nB470_p0932a05德,總在心源。諸人還會麼?檢點將來,會與不會,總是J39nB470_p0932a06多事。何故?開眼也著,合眼也著。咄!」
J39nB470_p0932a07上堂。「腳下是地,頭上是天。三百六十日,原來是一年。J39nB470_p0932a08喫飯卻止饑,著衣方免寒。恁麼會去,西天此土。若也J39nB470_p0932a09不會,此土西天。更問如何,十萬八千。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB470_p0932a10上堂。「見色非關色,聞聲不是聲。既不是色又不是聲,J39nB470_p0932a11且道是個甚麼?」拈起拄杖,云:「觀世音菩薩將錢買糊J39nB470_p0932a12餅,放下手原來卻是個饅頭。到這裏有甚麼難會?」卓J39nB470_p0932a13一卓,云:「靈俐漢,隔山見煙知是火,隔墻見角知是牛。」
J39nB470_p0932a14上堂。「犬守夜,雞司晨,蠶吐絲,蜂嚷蜜。釋迦老子四十J39nB470_p0932a15九年、三百餘會,用盡伎倆,播兩片皮,橫說豎說,塵說J39nB470_p0932a16剎說,熾然說,說無間歇,何曾說到者裏?達磨大師十J39nB470_p0932a17萬里航海而來,遊梁涉魏,將欲賣弄風流,孰知被劉J39nB470_p0932a18支三藏打落當門齒?」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB470_p0932a19上堂。「本分生理,原不欺人。種田得穀,貿易得銀。十升J39nB470_p0932a20是一斗,八兩是半觔。若能如是會,一切自見成。只如J39nB470_p0932a21古人道:『不許夜行,投明須到。』又作麼生商量?切忌認J39nB470_p0932a22奴作郎。」
小參
J39nB470_p0932a24除夕,小參。「北禪分歲,烹露地白牛、吹黍米飯、煮野菜J39nB470_p0932a25羹、燒榾柮火,大家喫了唱村田樂。松巋者裏也不烹J39nB470_p0932a26露地白牛、也不吹黍米飯、也不煮野菜羹、也不燒榾J39nB470_p0932a27柮火、也教大家喫了唱村田樂,且道喫個甚麼?」舉起J39nB470_p0932a28果碟,云:「和盤托出從君用,莫教咬破嘴唇皮。」
J39nB470_p0932a29化月繪師真設齋,請小參。師舉真示眾云:「三十二相J39nB470_p0932a30非真相,八十種好非真好。若喚者個是吾真,盡大地J39nB470_p0932b01人都惑了;不喚者個是吾真,肉髻長鬚何處討?還是J39nB470_p0932b02喚底是?不喚底是?」喝一喝,云:「自顛尤自倒。」
J39nB470_p0932b03為元敬龍居士對靈小參。以拂子指靈几,云:「會麼?生J39nB470_p0932b04亦何曾生?死亦何曾死?生死不相干,假名而已矣。既J39nB470_p0932b05無生,亦無死,正是那畔不來、者畔不去,兩頭坐斷、中J39nB470_p0932b06間不立。正恁麼時,且道元敬龍檀越向甚麼處安身J39nB470_p0932b07立命去?」良久,云:「能向其中深委悉,了知三際本無移。」
J39nB470_p0932b08為心田上座對靈小參。拈起拂子,云:「即此者個,上同J39nB470_p0932b09諸佛、下合眾生,情與無情性相平等,無大、無小,無前、J39nB470_p0932b10無後,無古、無今。所以道:『過去諸菩薩,斯門已成就。見J39nB470_p0932b11在諸菩薩,今各入圓明。未來修學人,當依如是住。』故J39nB470_p0932b12我心田上座善別機宜,二三十年保任此事,克苦勤J39nB470_p0932b13勞,年亦如是、月亦如是、日亦如是,一切時中出入動J39nB470_p0932b14靜、運用施為無有纖毫間斷,真如佛性、菩提涅槃打J39nB470_p0932b15成一片,妄想分別、無明煩惱了無相干,直得淨裸裸J39nB470_p0932b16絕承當、赤灑灑沒可把,一出一入、一來一去,自由自J39nB470_p0932b17在、無拘無束者,豈不是一個無事閒道人耶?正擬再J39nB470_p0932b18加保任、厚養深蓄,不意幻緣已盡、劫水翻濤,一時拽J39nB470_p0932b19過風幡、掉轉面目,直趨威音那畔去也。正恁麼時,且J39nB470_p0932b20道威音那畔作麼生趨?」良久,云:「還會麼?鐵船無底踏J39nB470_p0932b21翻去,依舊東山水上行。」
J39nB470_p0932b22小參。「山僧若是真說,除非啞卻口、截卻舌;諸人若是J39nB470_p0932b23真聽,除非瞎卻眼、塞卻耳。雖然如是,道水又何曾濕J39nB470_p0932b24卻口?道火又何曾燒卻舌?既不燒又不濕,正是入火J39nB470_p0932b25不焚、入水不溺者,豈不是個堅密清淨法身耶?是汝J39nB470_p0932b26諸人作麼生領會?」拽拄杖一時打散,歸方丈。
機緣
J39nB470_p0932b28師問僧:「那裏來?」僧曰:「曲靖來。」師曰:「鈍峰和尚近來不J39nB470_p0932b29安,實否?」曰:「不得知。」師曰:「汝不在曲靖來。」
J39nB470_p0932b30一日新到參,師問曰:「那裏來?」僧曰:「安籠來。」師曰:「安龍J39nB470_p0932c01甚麼處?」曰:「玉泉。」師曰:「顯法叔有何言句?」曰:「教某甲參J39nB470_p0932c02狗子無佛性話。」師曰:「而今會也未?」曰:「不會。」師曰:「不會J39nB470_p0932c03正好參。」
J39nB470_p0932c04僧問:「和尚親近權老人多年,有父子不相傳底句,是J39nB470_p0932c05必分付得來也,今日請和尚慈悲舉示看。」師曰:「汝在J39nB470_p0932c06甚麼處得者問頭來?」僧無語,師便打云:「向後莫亂統。」
J39nB470_p0932c07士問:「和尚年多少?」師以手指口云:「牙齒都沒有了。」士J39nB470_p0932c08笑云:「是者個沒有?是那個沒有?」師打云:「在那裏學者J39nB470_p0932c09戲頭來?」
J39nB470_p0932c10問僧:「甚麼處來?」僧曰:「關嶺來。」師曰:「盤江河作麼生過J39nB470_p0932c11來?」曰:「某甲本地人,原不阻隔。」師曰:「汝說話不似本地J39nB470_p0932c12人在。」僧無語。師曰:「情知汝非本地人,出去!」
J39nB470_p0932c13僧問:「某甲生死未明,乞和尚慈悲指示。」師豎起拂子J39nB470_p0932c14云:「你且道者個是生耶?是死耶?是不生不死耶?」曰:「某J39nB470_p0932c15甲不會。」師曰:「正好疑去。」
J39nB470_p0932c16僧問:「如何是臨濟三玄三要句?」師曰:「東山水上行。」曰:J39nB470_p0932c17「某甲不會。」師曰:「玄殺許多人。」

J39nB470_p0933b26師諱大悅,號天一,楚南呂氏子。生值離亂,被擄入黔,J39nB470_p0933b27在安順長壽菴遇雲腹和尚上堂,因發出塵之念。時J39nB470_p0933b28值J39nB470_p0933b29本朝大師恢取滇黔,本營軍伍一時星散。師喜,脫穎J39nB470_p0933b30奔至安南龍潭寺,禮上無下霞老宿披剃。經半載,得J39nB470_p0933c01聞善權和尚開法龍場萬壽寺,師往親覲,乞受具足。J39nB470_p0933c02權一見,以器期之。一日,問師曰:「汝來惟求戒耶?更求J39nB470_p0933c03別事耶?」師曰:「某甲不知有何事,更求乞和尚慈悲開J39nB470_p0933c04示。」權曰:「汝豈不聞生死事大耶?」師曰:「生死事大作麼J39nB470_p0933c05生了?」權曰:「參究始得。」師曰:「作麼生參?」權曰:「父母未生J39nB470_p0933c06前,那箇是你本來面目?恁麼參去。」師秉權命,如是參J39nB470_p0933c07究,刻無間斷。時權遷松巋,師亦隨之,住經兩載。一日,J39nB470_p0933c08侍權與官人持論《楞嚴經》,至世尊舉金色臂屈五輪J39nB470_p0933c09指問阿難處,豁然有醒。至夜,上方丈呈解,曰:「老和尚J39nB470_p0933c10無端相瞞某甲許多時也。」權曰:「汝見箇甚麼道理便J39nB470_p0933c11恁麼道?」師曰:「世尊舉手屈指示阿難處聻?」權曰:「我情J39nB470_p0933c12知汝只認得箇驢前馬後底為極則在。」師曰:「某甲只J39nB470_p0933c13恁麼,更不受老和尚瞞也。」權叱之,曰:「孟八郎漢!不見J39nB470_p0933c14古人道:『佛法不是者箇道理。』」師曰:「老大善知識,更與J39nB470_p0933c15人說道理在。」權深肯之。師自受囑後,總未離權,隨住J39nB470_p0933c16松巋二十餘載。甲子歲,權示寂,本境檀越並合山大J39nB470_p0933c17眾勉師繼席,師乃竭力鼎建松巋,前後廊廡煥然一J39nB470_p0933c18新。又苦守十餘年,時遇丁丑孟冬,偶示微恙。一日,示J39nB470_p0933c19徒化月,曰:「吾滅後,不勞盤薪費事,生葬可也。」言訖而J39nB470_p0933c20逝。化乃不違師命,備棺收殮,全身建塔於寺西老塔J39nB470_p0933c21山存為。師世壽六十有七,僧臘四十。
塔銘
J39nB470_p0933c23今夫世系相承,修理塚墓,示子孫於不忘,此在塵者J39nB470_p0933c24孝弟之心也。至於出塵度世,建塗毒鼓,演空王法,宜J39nB470_p0933c25乎萬有皆空,無事塚墓。然而孝弟之思,疇不有之?雖J39nB470_p0933c26在釋氏,亦不能廢,此天一禪師壽塔之所以建也。禪J39nB470_p0933c27師本楚南呂氏子,因值兵燹,被擄入營,涉歷艱辛,無J39nB470_p0933c28不備嘗。第身雖在營,心則出家,後二十餘歲,卒成其J39nB470_p0933c29志。傳善權禪師衣缽,實參默悟,凡有所得,俱從性地J39nB470_p0933c30圓明和盤托出,所以或拈揭自持,或說法示人,絕去J39nB470_p0934a01支離,實道本來面目。閱道臘四十餘年,開堂演化,傳其J39nB470_p0934a02法者若干人,利益于人也大矣。茲壽塔之建,在師不J39nB470_p0934a03以有無為輕重,而善一法弟責師法嗣,併受師之利J39nB470_p0934a04益者,不忍不建師之壽塔,以示後學於不忘,且盡其J39nB470_p0934a05孝弟之心,以請銘于予也。因銘之曰:

J39nB470_p0934a12為夫巖法弟起龕。云:「天上人間獨超卓,懸巖撒手自J39nB470_p0934a13承當。拋卻廣福尤藏跡,突出光明映八荒。且密移一J39nB470_p0934a14步作麼生商量?」以拂子指徑,云:「堂堂!」
J39nB470_p0934a15舉火。云:「佛祖綱維,衲僧巴鼻,世出世間,由此建立。且J39nB470_p0934a16道建立箇甚麼?建法幢,立規矩,接方來,鍛衲子,者個J39nB470_p0934a17便是我天巖法弟二三一年在廣福寺裏橫開豎闢、J39nB470_p0934a18任意施為底一段風光,今日移來者個大火聚裏,要J39nB470_p0934a19與諸人通箇消息,所以悅上座不得不為伊發明。且J39nB470_p0934a20如何發明?」以火炬打圓相,云:「烈焰光中轉法輪。」
J39nB470_p0934a21為再操上人起龕。云:「赤條條,光灼灼,來去自分明,纖J39nB470_p0934a22毫無差錯。既無差錯,且道即今路頭在甚麼處?」以杖J39nB470_p0934a23引龕,云:「驀直去。」
J39nB470_p0934a24舉火。云:「塵緣未▆,▆▆迷惑,心鏡圓明,真常獨露,歷J39nB470_p0934a25歷無生死,明明絕▆▆,▆有者一具皮囊,無下交代,J39nB470_p0934a26所以山僧直得為▆▆▆,大眾為伊添柴,看看火滅J39nB470_p0934a27煙消後,分明遺下一堆灰。」
