J39nB448_p0453a22師云:「古聖垂慈,芳規建立,無非欲諸人領取釣頭意,J39nB448_p0453a23莫認定盤星。然則者箇是定盤星,作麼生是釣頭意?J39nB448_p0453a24伶俐漢一覷便透。如來禪,祖師禪,驀鼻牽來好痛拳;J39nB448_p0453a25如或未然,聽取下頭註腳。」鳴板一下,云:「分明只者是,J39nB448_p0453a26不悟待何年?」
為東明孤雲和尚火
J39nB448_p0453a28「南泉三不是,趙州一箇無,冷地驀相磕,拍出谷谷呱。J39nB448_p0453a29不知是甚義?寒拾笑盧都,仔細拈來看,元是東壁挂J39nB448_p0453a30底大葫蘆。大眾!今日為我孤法兄茶毘,因甚說者般J39nB448_p0453b01話?」遂擲炬,云:「知音說與知音聽,一道清光入畫圖。」
入塔
J39nB448_p0453b03「勸君先上東明去,我即束裝隨後來。者便是老兄當J39nB448_p0453b04時留戀此山底句,既親言出自親口,今日又親自到J39nB448_p0453b05此,更要小弟說個甚麼?雖然,當陽顯露,眾眼難瞞,驀J39nB448_p0453b06地收歸,兄自道取。」遂捧起骨櫬,云:「拶破虛空無縫罅,J39nB448_p0453b07任他千古水朝宗。」
為韜明和尚起龕
J39nB448_p0453b09師云:「久默斯要,不務速說。透體金風趁此時,密移一J39nB448_p0453b10步是高著。」遂以拄杖引之。
舉火
J39nB448_p0453b12師云:「不可思議法,惟兄說得妙,火焰三世佛,立地聽J39nB448_p0453b13呼召。鞭策泥牛吞大海,指教木馬啗空鷂,縱橫妙用J39nB448_p0453b14顯神機,搖落天花多瑞兆。大眾!此是堂頭老漢末後J39nB448_p0453b15全提,與諸靈山受囑、列位金湯心眼相炤,共作証明J39nB448_p0453b16底一段殊勝因緣。若也見得,知恩報德只在今朝;其J39nB448_p0453b17或未然,鳳山更為者漢播揚法化去也。」遂擲炬,云:「頂J39nB448_p0453b18門迸出一輪紅,大千何處不光耀?」
入塔
J39nB448_p0453b20師云:「恭惟法兄和尚以一條白棒掀天揭地,惱亂叢J39nB448_p0453b21林,三十餘年垂功立業,既遇昌時,羅龍打鳳,一滿心J39nB448_p0453b22懷。先師未了公案迎恩渡,一時復見光輝;我兄同門J39nB448_p0453b23▆出黃浦浪,千古咸驚險峻。所以有如是造詣、具如J39nB448_p0453b24是奇特,驀地翻身,迥出尋常,預知得地,天然受用。且J39nB448_p0453b25正當恁麼時,如何是天然受用一句?坐對浮屠忘彼J39nB448_p0453b26此,從教人喚法中王。」
為慈門師太封龕
J39nB448_p0453b28「老師行處,人天莫測,瀟灑風規,快樂自得。惟其自得,J39nB448_p0453b29所以七十七年來履踐如霜,孤操不易,如今嬾聽閻J39nB448_p0453b30浮歌,白雲深處藏蹤跡。蹤跡既藏,是汝諸人還知者J39nB448_p0453c01老師落處麼?」遂掩龕,咄一咄,云:「當陽坐斷,誰敢辨的?」
起龕
J39nB448_p0453c03「翔鳳關前雲泛白,缽盂巖下水流清。到頭一著無多J39nB448_p0453c04子,千聖咸歸此路行。」遂以拄杖卓一卓,引出。
舉火
J39nB448_p0453c06「玲瓏巖畔久稱揚,佐助先師道念彰,末後茲山多意J39nB448_p0453c07氣,今朝受用好風光。好風光,絕比量。」遂攛下炬,云:「全J39nB448_p0453c08憑者點無私炤,贈送雲蹤去路長。」
為嵩嶽監院火
J39nB448_p0453c10「多年為眾監院,今日山僧監你,上是兜率陀天,下是J39nB448_p0453c11風輪水際,東西南北俱玲瓏,任汝逍遙隨所至。正上J39nB448_p0453c12座!須記取,臨歧無可贈行蹤,末後全提只者是。」便燒。
入塔
J39nB448_p0453c14「超生脫死,全憑者箇。獨露當陽,了無話墮。乘時占得J39nB448_p0453c15好風光,全身直入裏頭坐。裏頭坐,休錯過。三台須是J39nB448_p0453c16大家催,再出頭來重唱和。」
指琦維那火
J39nB448_p0453c18「數載辛勤,綱維法令,叢林得以雅觀,衲子亦賴安靖。J39nB448_p0453c19此是汝赤心片片助揚老僧底事。正當今日,格外翻J39nB448_p0453c20身,又將何與人通信?」擲炬,云:「萬別與千差,一椎俱打J39nB448_p0453c21正。」
覿顏柴頭火
J39nB448_p0453c23「南山樵盡北山樵,堆積今朝一火燒,惟有一株無影J39nB448_p0453c24樹,披今歷古赤條條。諸人還知覿顏禪人於無影樹J39nB448_p0453c25下超生脫死否?若也未知,老僧更為點破。」擲炬,云:「不J39nB448_p0453c26識東甌橘皮紅,疑殺波斯舌頭赤。」
文光禪人火
J39nB448_p0453c28「衲僧家要來便來,要去便去,延遲至今,猶涉鈍置。絕J39nB448_p0453c29鈍置,請看腳下焰騰騰,便是文光安樂處。」
聰睿庄主火
J39nB448_p0454a01「毫釐繫念,三塗業因,直饒一念未生,猶是死水裏浸J39nB448_p0454a02殺。此是汝舊冬見處,今日逗到者裏,紅爐焰猛,生涯J39nB448_p0454a03路盡,又明甚麼邊事?咄!還鄉調古無人聽,申謝油餈J39nB448_p0454a04絕眾疑。」
為禪人火
J39nB448_p0454a06「皮囊已脫卻,精靈在何處?直下便知歸,開眼不受蔽。J39nB448_p0454a07既不受蔽,且道煙消火滅後又如何指的?」擲火炬,云:J39nB448_p0454a08「路逢知己丙丁公,爍破面門秪者是。」
象開禪人火
J39nB448_p0454a10「終日跛跛搭搭向外馳求,挨到今朝猶未心休。何故?J39nB448_p0454a11晴乾不肯去,直待雨淋頭。」擲炬,喝一喝,云:「劫火洞然J39nB448_p0454a12燒卻了,腳跟翻轉倒天流。」
月脩火頭火
J39nB448_p0454a14「長年為眾燒火,今日老僧燒汝。汝燒火,我燒汝,如是J39nB448_p0454a15因,如是果。」擲炬,云:「根塵器界盡消鎔,透出光明淨裸J39nB448_p0454a16裸。」
濟生禪人火
J39nB448_p0454a18「撲面霜風冷,千山雪未消,衲僧行履別,任運樂逍遙。J39nB448_p0454a19是則是,忽有人覓你河南信,又將何秪對?」擲炬,云:「眼J39nB448_p0454a20開無一物,唯有赤條條。」
澤超禪人火
J39nB448_p0454a22「山露連纏骨,水流不斷觔,莫忘今日事,須記此時心。J39nB448_p0454a23且道如何是此時心?」以火炬打圓相,云:「銕鑄金剛圈J39nB448_p0454a24一箇,一回咬嚼一回新。」
智恒禪人火恒常為眾募鹽
J39nB448_p0454a26「本色衲僧流,分明汝一箇,直下便翻身,悄然無話墮。J39nB448_p0454a27既無話墮,秪如遲延四十餘天,又思念箇甚麼?呵呵!」J39nB448_p0454a28擲炬,云:「莫忘鹹淡自家知,今日消歸火裏坐。」
湛輪相侍者火
J39nB448_p0454a30「吾不辜負汝,汝豈辜負吾?如何卻與麼,使我老心孤J39nB448_p0454b01孤孤?語水血流書不盡,勸農多說也難模。」遂呵呵大J39nB448_p0454b02笑,云:「無端!無端!」擲炬,復喝一喝,云:「不如一火燒卻,免J39nB448_p0454b03教彼此分疏。」
入塔
J39nB448_p0454b05師捧骨襯云:「巾瓶十載,念切叢林,只者去處,是汝安J39nB448_p0454b06身。呼應不堪重話會,斷腸聊慰裏頭親。且道親箇甚J39nB448_p0454b07麼?」遂送入云:「從前盡道閒相識,今日方知是苦心。」
少眉禪人火
J39nB448_p0454b09「衲僧行履處,最苦病魔縛,撒盡肚腸空,今朝始安樂。J39nB448_p0454b10雖然,安樂二字是山僧道底,作麼生是你應時及節J39nB448_p0454b11受用一句?」遂攛炬,云:「會麼?雙眉展起焰騰空,雨灑行J39nB448_p0454b12蹤阿漉漉。」
飯頭定心禪德火
J39nB448_p0454b14「不用瞻星望月,全憑者箇時節,時節既到來,大眾都J39nB448_p0454b15歡悅。且道歡悅箇甚麼?羨汝識得定中心,飯是米做J39nB448_p0454b16鍋是鐵,忽被南泉打破、普化踢倒時又作麼生?」遂攛J39nB448_p0454b17炬,云:「豁開兩眼辨端由,馬面驢頭俱炤徹。」
湛如禪人火
J39nB448_p0454b19「衲僧家要來便來、要去便去,家家好風月、處處安樂J39nB448_p0454b20地,何必徽州與休寧?日日聲聲念不住。阿呵呵!一火J39nB448_p0454b21為君燒卻了,湛如秋月炤人間。」
淨朗禪人火
J39nB448_p0454b23「未過洛陽橋,風光俱遍該,不知為甚麼,空著艸鞋來?J39nB448_p0454b24雖然,不到水窮山盡處,爭肯翻身撒手?罔撒手回,死J39nB448_p0454b25生箇裏無他路,趁踏紅蓮火內開。」遂投炬。
值牲慈茂火
J39nB448_p0454b27「癡癡憨憨,醇醇樸樸,苗稼不犯,安心自牧,鼻頭拽脫J39nB448_p0454b28了無依,撩起便行真快樂。秪如人牛俱忘,且道是何J39nB448_p0454b29面目?」以火炬點兩點,云:「休開兩片錯商量,翻身直入J39nB448_p0454b30無生國。」
不較上座火
J39nB448_p0454c02「不較,不較,到此更須覺炤,惟有靈明一著子,了無奇J39nB448_p0454c03特與玄妙。既無奇特、玄妙,且道還有親切相為處麼?」J39nB448_p0454c04擲炬,云:「爍破者髑髏,突出頂門竅。」
遍也上座火
J39nB448_p0454c06「今日是上座絕後再甦底時節,若也見得,葉落歸根J39nB448_p0454c07同得旨,菩提觸目共全彰;其或未然,火光三昧與上J39nB448_p0454c08座証明去也。」喝一喝,擲炬,云:「切須看取。」
鵠林維那火
J39nB448_p0454c10師呈炬,云:「者便是鵠林上座末後一段光明幢,山僧J39nB448_p0454c11今日特為點出,諸人還知者上座落處麼?若也未知……」J39nB448_p0454c12攛炬,云:「罰錢出院成何事?恩怨分明在此中。」
鍾解脫火
J39nB448_p0454c14「昨日鍾居士,今朝解脫僧方薙染,遂歸寂,即建普同塔者,何緣得到J39nB448_p0454c15此,撒手法王城。只如末後一句又如何履踐?」擲炬,云:J39nB448_p0454c16「烈焰光中聊寄足,普同受用待功成。」
巨範則副寺火
J39nB448_p0454c18「吾望子有發達之日,子思我有末後之句,今日方知J39nB448_p0454c19不汝欺,受用頭頭合本據。且作麼生是本據?火焰說J39nB448_p0454c20與諸佛聽,諸佛聽未真,火焰說未是,吾今不再三。」遂J39nB448_p0454c21▆炬,云:「會取箇中意。」
聰聞會禪人火
J39nB448_p0454c23「多年為眾竭力,今朝方始心休。休!休!不須向外從他J39nB448_p0454c24覓,一念知歸便轉頭。且轉頭後又作麼生?」擲炬,云:「本J39nB448_p0454c25來受用全憑此,觸目風光任性遊。」
素慥汧西堂入塔
J39nB448_p0454c27師捧骨襯云:「衲僧造詣,迥絕追攀,揭露當陽,徹骨冰J39nB448_p0454c28寒,三十年來真履踐,人天目擊盡歡顏。雖然,此猶是J39nB448_p0454c29西堂素公覿面相呈邊事。秪如物外翻身,密不通蹤,J39nB448_p0454c30又如何與伊安置?」遂送入云:「葉落金風消息至,雲拖J39nB448_p0455a01秋色入松關。」
松江二禪人入塔
J39nB448_p0455a03「一對雲間客,煙波泛渺茫,今朝齊到此,穩坐自家鄉。J39nB448_p0455a04大眾!家鄉既已穩坐,且作麼生與伊證據?」遂提起骨,J39nB448_p0455a05云:「描畫不成人世外,風流徹骨絕商量。」
為孫弘寰父母入塔
J39nB448_p0455a07「夢幻浮生事已周,賢郎送入此山頭,此山已植多生J39nB448_p0455a08福,福被多生享莫休。大眾!此是山僧為弘、寰兩尊人J39nB448_p0455a09末後表揚底句,且團圞聚會又如何舉唱?」遂送入,云:J39nB448_p0455a10「覿面將相無異路,各歸本際樂同儔。」
清如耆舊火
J39nB448_p0455a12舉火炬,云:「大眾!此便是者上座生平為眾真實脩持J39nB448_p0455a13得一道光明幢。山僧今日為他覿面點出,直令未發J39nB448_p0455a14道心者互相協力、已發道心者同聲讚歎。讚歎則且J39nB448_p0455a15止,且道者光明幢又向何處著落?」遂攛下火炬,云:「返J39nB448_p0455a16本還源秪者是,輝天鑑地自如如。」
青蓮老師火
J39nB448_p0455a18「明知生是不生之義,因甚卻被生死之所流轉?若向J39nB448_p0455a19者裏會得,烈焰綻青蓮,馨香遍界該,彌今又亙古,無J39nB448_p0455a20去亦無來。既無去又無來,是汝諸人還知者阿師落J39nB448_p0455a21處麼?」遂攛炬,云:「青山綠水全身現,那箇男兒被活埋?」
慧林禪人二親化柩
J39nB448_p0455a23「皮囊拋卻已多年,猶自棲遲荒艸邊,驀地掀翻舊骨J39nB448_p0455a24董,分明絕後又光前。只如同條合命一句又作麼生J39nB448_p0455a25道?覿體元無異,死生不二天。」
木頂禪人火因虎傷
J39nB448_p0455a27「木禪人,聽指示,尋歷江山計有年,佐助宗師未遂志,J39nB448_p0455a28到頭一著自家知,撒手今朝安樂地。大眾!且作麼生J39nB448_p0455a29是渠安樂一句?虎口翻身自在行,大千何處不游戲?」
朱解作明采火
J39nB448_p0455b01「若論此事,如解水一般,牽來拽去,必得兩破,始肯放J39nB448_p0455b02手。只如放手後又作麼生?符到奉行天已夜,星河燦J39nB448_p0455b03爛任翻身。」
道戒禪人火
J39nB448_p0455b05「尋常用得著,今朝都不是。合眼細思惟,安身在何處?J39nB448_p0455b06道禪人,休擬議。」遂擲火炬,云:「只此明明不覆藏,莫教J39nB448_p0455b07錯過自家底。」
慈濟禪德火

J39nB448_p0455c02 J39nB448_p0455c03師諱行觀,號靈機,閩之龍溪周氏子。母翁氏,生師之J39nB448_p0455c04夕,夢一金神入室,衛從頗盛,忽香光馥郁而誕,闔屬J39nB448_p0455c05稱異。師幼不茹葷,及丱讀書山館,偶觸無常境界,遂J39nB448_p0455c06與本郡慈雲師游,有師資之誼。一日,默思禮誦非究J39nB448_p0455c07竟事,由是悲悵日增,以至胸次負疼。時費隱容老和J39nB448_p0455c08尚主黃檗,有僧持語錄至,展讀如獲至寶,屢欲往叩,J39nB448_p0455c09又為他緣所絆。既而因事發憤曰:「大丈夫若以利養J39nB448_p0455c10是圖,則陷身不義矣。」遂舍去,禮金浦九雲寺慧曇老J39nB448_p0455c11師芟染。曇耆年有道行,為一方推重,見師志不群,乃J39nB448_p0455c12欣然曰:「子乃法門令器,詎可虛滯於此?吾年雖邁,當J39nB448_p0455c13送子行腳也。」即束裝偕師出嶺。曇途次染恙,趨寂於J39nB448_p0455c14逆旅,師抆淚津送入塔雲棲,禮別渡江,首參密老和J39nB448_p0455c15尚於天童。纔人事,同謁僧擬問,連遭痛棒,師在傍佇J39nB448_p0455c16顧,被尚以杖驀胸一𡎺,曰:「汝者死漢。」倒退階下,心眼J39nB448_p0455c17昏迷。少頃,乞進堂,日用只疑驀胸一𡎺:「汝者死漢。」反J39nB448_p0455c18覆看來,我是活底,因甚喚作死漢?遇晚參,師出問:「未J39nB448_p0455c19審老和尚有佛性也無?」尚笑而起,捻住喉嚨,擺兩擺,J39nB448_p0455c20曰:「汝者阿子無佛性。」師彼時如在大火聚中跳出。自J39nB448_p0455c21此參究益切,雖役重務,未嘗放捨。是冬,稟受具足戒J39nB448_p0455c22焉。明年甲戌,聞費老和尚應金粟之請,復過武林休J39nB448_p0455c23夏龍居。偶閱《禪關策進》,愈加猛礪,灼見古人為生死J39nB448_p0455c24不憚風霜,三二十年方成一片,了徹大事,豈是容易J39nB448_p0455c25得底?於是晝夜常坐不臥,只看個無字,或倦即倚柱J39nB448_p0455c26少息。又得泉南脩上座警發,師依而行之,殊覺省力,J39nB448_p0455c27不勝欣忭。期畢,腰包上金粟見老和尚,挂單禪堂踰J39nB448_p0455c28月,徹夜不眠,恒立法堂前參究。一夕,雷雨驟作,電光J39nB448_p0455c29閃爍,不覺無字話頭脫落,山河大地凝成一片,歡喜J39nB448_p0455c30踴躍,歸堂倒身便臥。時鄰單問:「兄徹耶?何放逸若此?」J39nB448_p0456a01師曰:「待我睡一睡向汝道。」一眾驚悚。有止止師特入J39nB448_p0456a02堂,問:「一靈真性,不假胞胎時如何?」師以手驀掩其口,J39nB448_p0456a03止不肯,曰:「不是者個道理。」師高聲應曰:「三十年後。」乃J39nB448_p0456a04趨入方丈,問:「世尊未陞座,文殊未白椎,還有佛法也J39nB448_p0456a05無?」語未卒,尚拈拄杖徵曰:「且道即今是陞座不是陞J39nB448_p0456a06座?」擬對,便打出。自忖:「我本惺惺,為甚拶著又去不得?」J39nB448_p0456a07遂移入圓寮,每日只默坐,不輕啟口。尚見師真率,命J39nB448_p0456a08遷侍香。一日,因二僧請益,尚據曰:「左邊半觔,右邊八J39nB448_p0456a09兩。」師於此豁然無疑,呈百丈再參頌曰:「當機歷驗示J39nB448_p0456a10全提,忽地一聲絕謂情。禍入己身猶自可,那堪惡水J39nB448_p0456a11又澆人。」尚閱畢,復問:「頌也任汝頌,且道三日耳聾意J39nB448_p0456a12旨如何?」師沉吟間,被尚振威一喝,拈棒呵曰:「汝恁麼J39nB448_p0456a13見解,平地上死人無數。當機不來,盡成虛誑。」師是時J39nB448_p0456a14白汗迸流,會得全機大用。復呈無字頌曰:「狗子無佛J39nB448_p0456a15性,當風須照顧。擬議咬斷筋,莫言不分付。」尚大笑稱J39nB448_p0456a16賞。從茲腳踏實地,一切成現,無纖毫窒礙,不被從上J39nB448_p0456a17佛祖舌頭欺瞞。尚一日問:「興化打克賓意旨如何?」師J39nB448_p0456a18曰:「憐兒不覺醜。」尚曰:「既打趁,何謂憐兒?」師曰:「也要和J39nB448_p0456a19尚具隻眼。」尚便掌曰:「要我具隻眼那?」師曰:「不是學人J39nB448_p0456a20恁麼,爭見得和尚?」尚休去。又侍立次,尚問:「世尊拈花J39nB448_p0456a21意旨如何?」師驀豎拳。尚曰:「不得喚作拳頭,又作麼生?」J39nB448_p0456a22師便與尚一拳。尚打一棒曰:且道是賞汝罰汝?師曰:J39nB448_p0456a23少賣弄。尚頷之。師侍尚十載,機緣頗多,具載錄中。一J39nB448_p0456a24日,尚謂師曰:「漳州出汝,大似糞埽堆頭一顆明珠。」又J39nB448_p0456a25曰:「汝是金粟門下一枝鳳毛。汝之頌古,宛有白雲端J39nB448_p0456a26作略。」師雖屢蒙記莂,益自謙晦。崇禎癸未冬,舉師立J39nB448_p0456a27僧。越明年解制,師欲把茆住山,以告。尚從容謂曰:「昔J39nB448_p0456a28仰山語臨濟老兄:『向後於河北有個住處。』後臨濟果J39nB448_p0456a29在河北大闡宗風。看來吾人住處亦有定分,豈可強J39nB448_p0456a30為?」師拜領慈誨。未幾,有湖州楊墳資福之命,尚令侍J39nB448_p0456b01者喚師至,囑曰:「汝欲把茆,今翔鳳山前有古寺基,當J39nB448_p0456b02就此居之。」師乃受命,拜辭至山,實甲申三月十有三J39nB448_p0456b03日也。師初住時,闢艸開荒,刈茆縛屋,凄涼盈目,豺虎J39nB448_p0456b04為鄰,人不堪其憂,而師怡然獨樂。師又律身最嚴,同J39nB448_p0456b05眾食息,雖一果一菜不私於眾,故禪學之士亦不辭J39nB448_p0456b06勞苦,戮力經營,漸成叢席。雖雲廚屢乏,而參請無虛J39nB448_p0456b07日,單提向上,勘驗方來,由是雲水麇集。辛亥秋,復主J39nB448_p0456b08福嚴三稔。甲寅九月,眾請還山,法席愈盛,四方宿衲、J39nB448_p0456b09遠近緇素嚮風而至,惟恐居後,圍繞者不下十萬餘J39nB448_p0456b10指矣。於戲!益知曩時老和尚為師諄諄囑付,信有徵J39nB448_p0456b11焉。師住持資福三十八載,凡樵採之山、安僧之地,尺J39nB448_p0456b12寸皆售,衣缽親置。師於茲山雖稱重興,實開法第一J39nB448_p0456b13世也。始則艸屋荒基不蔽風雨,終則瓊樓絳殿金碧J39nB448_p0456b14交輝,凡叢林所宜有者無不畢備,兼之門庭嚴冷,清J39nB448_p0456b15規整肅,諸方長輩咸推尊為楊岐、高峰再世云。師受J39nB448_p0456b16生於萬曆丙辰正月廿三日寅刻,示寂於康熙辛酉J39nB448_p0456b17九月廿九日子時,世壽六十有六,僧臘四十有九。遺J39nB448_p0456b18命塔全身於本寺龍山之陽,付囑弟子廿一人。有語J39nB448_p0456b19錄上下卷行於世。
翔鳳山顯忠崇孝資福禪寺靈機和尚塔銘
J39nB448_p0456c02葬者,藏也。後世務為崇碑巨碣、勒石徵詞諛墓,已非J39nB448_p0456c03古矣。況宗門大士,視其身不啻蘧廬之一宿,暨乎埋J39nB448_p0456c04骨荒丘,鴻爪蟬翼,無復顧戀,而世之所號為能文者J39nB448_p0456c05流,乃以窺測傅會之見,繪飾而塗澤之,何足當識者J39nB448_p0456c06之一笑乎?雖然,當正法凌夷、魔鬼互熾,而得一人焉,J39nB448_p0456c07特提向上宗旨,壁立萬仞,斬盡葛藤,俾依聲附影之J39nB448_p0456c08徒,斂跡卻避,其有功佛祖甚大,則于J39nB448_p0456c09靈機和尚身後之銘,不得徒作語言文字會也。師姓J39nB448_p0456c10周,閩之龍溪人,諱行觀,靈機其法號也。母翁,夢金神J39nB448_p0456c11入室而生。幼不茹葷血,稍長,讀書山中,偶境觸無常,J39nB448_p0456c12遂懷出世之想。有僧持費老人語錄至者,反復省誦,J39nB448_p0456c13如飲沆瀣,即芟染,禮九雲寺慧曇為師。曇一見,歎曰:J39nB448_p0456c14「子將來龍象,詎可虛滯于此?吾雖老,尚能伴子八十J39nB448_p0456c15行腳耳。」未幾,曇以疾示寂旅次,師抆淚津送如禮。渡J39nB448_p0456c16江,首參密和尚,痛加爐錘,師自謂如火聚翻身,參究J39nB448_p0456c17益切。是歲,稟受具足戒,每晝夜止看無字,與泉南脩J39nB448_p0456c18上座互相警發。時費老人主席金粟,師挂單禪榻。一J39nB448_p0456c19夕,雷電驟至,不覺無字話頭脫落,山河大地凝成一J39nB448_p0456c20片,歡喜無量,歸堂便臥。鄰單問:「子徹也?何放逸乃爾?」J39nB448_p0456c21曰:「待酣睡後,卻向汝道。」一眾驚悚。師侍香次,因二僧J39nB448_p0456c22請益,費老人曰:「左邊半觔,右邊八兩。」師于此豁然,呈J39nB448_p0456c23百丈再參頌曰:「禍入己身猶自可,那堪惡水又澆人?」J39nB448_p0456c24隨勘驗以三日耳聾意旨,沉吟間更遭呵罵,汗下浹J39nB448_p0456c25背,益領會全機大用。又呈無字頌,深蒙印可。從茲一J39nB448_p0456c26切成現,毫無窒礙,機緣甚多,俱悉語錄中。費老人嘗J39nB448_p0456c27語師曰:「汝之頌古,大類白雲端,真金粟門下鳳毛矣。」J39nB448_p0456c28舉充首眾,復囑曰:「汝欲把茆,今翔鳳山前有古寺基,J39nB448_p0456c29當往居之。」師遂應楊墳資福之請。始至,誅茆縛椽,荒J39nB448_p0456c30涼窘乏,師一果一蓏不以自私,故學徒亦不辭,況瘁J39nB448_p0457a01經營,漸成蘭若。其後信施委積,自殿宇以及寮舍庖J39nB448_p0457a02湢,煥然一新,雖曰重興,實與開山創建者等。復主福J39nB448_p0457a03嚴回,值六十誕辰,緇素雲集,聽法不下十萬指。至康J39nB448_p0457a04熙辛酉九月二十九日,泊然而逝,距其生萬曆丙辰J39nB448_p0457a05正月廿三日,世壽六十有六,僧臘四十有九。遺命塔J39nB448_p0457a06全身于本寺龍山之陽,付囑弟子二十一人。師門風J39nB448_p0457a07高峻,足跡不下山麓者三十年,尤疾末學盲師語錄J39nB448_p0457a08刊布之弊,凡結制晚參諸語,皆順世以後弟子追輯J39nB448_p0457a09所聞,什不存其一二。此與雲門法語呵止流傳,入其J39nB448_p0457a10室者至以紙衣繕寫,何多讓哉?乙丑秋,予謁笠翁和J39nB448_p0457a11尚于理安,而師之繼席法嗣嵩菴道至。翌旦,笠翁遂J39nB448_p0457a12以書扺會城,介其座元夢菴來請。笠翁為諸方碩果,J39nB448_p0457a13而師尤余素所企慕而不得見者,乃稽首為之銘曰:
J39nB448_p0457a14康熙二十四年乙丑八月望日,J39nB448_p0457a26賜進士出身、文林郎、原任河南開封府祥符縣知縣、J39nB448_p0457a27行取J39nB448_p0457a28大計卓異、J39nB448_p0457a29欽賜袍服、薦舉博學宏辭、J39nB448_p0457a30賜宴體仁閣、前彰德府推官、癸卯科文武同考官、遂J39nB448_p0457b01安毛際可拜撰。
先師語句,恐學人泥於文字,概不存稿。雖有J39nB448_p0457c02順世陞座小參諸法語,書挂水牌,隨命抹去,J39nB448_p0457c03不許謄錄。翼自壬寅冬親近先師匝歲,命入J39nB448_p0457c04侍寮,問諸久侍前職和尚所說法語機緣,曾J39nB448_p0457c05錄卷帙否?僉曰未曾。即有,不過潛鈔密記一J39nB448_p0457c06篇半偈而已。爰是東鈔西錄,裒集數篇,候師J39nB448_p0457c07住持事餘,呈稿求正。師正色曰:「既學別傳之J39nB448_p0457c08旨,咬人屎橛作麼?」翼再拜長跽白云:「二祖阿J39nB448_p0457c09難為佛侍者,凡佛先所說法,未曾得聞,懇求J39nB448_p0457c10重說。佛為慈愍,未聞更為宣說。所以阿難後J39nB448_p0457c11來結集三藏,如水傳器,一字無遺。趙州不許J39nB448_p0457c12人錄,至今語錄流播天壤。至如鄉音南北,楚J39nB448_p0457c13夏不同,智無慶喜之明、識乏紙衣之敏,互有J39nB448_p0457c14潛鈔密記,難免魚魯參差。雖杜今時之弊,反J39nB448_p0457c15貽他日之瑕。伏望和尚大慈,俯垂覽正,開示J39nB448_p0457c16將來,使正法眼流通末世。」師為動容,矜翼愚J39nB448_p0457c17衷,指其字句差誤,隨即錄正。先師曰:「不可與J39nB448_p0457c18人亂鈔。禪和子眼腦不清,烏焉成馬者多。」故J39nB448_p0457c19翼謹秘篋笥,不敢有違嚴命。第愧記性愚拙,J39nB448_p0457c20不盡什之一二耳。至康熙己未,請假出山養J39nB448_p0457c21母,繡州稿亦懷之以歸。辛酉九月初,老人示J39nB448_p0457c22疾,遣人呼翼至榻,給侍彌月,至廿九日示寂。J39nB448_p0457c23嗚呼!人天眼滅,法棟傾頹,翼等孤露無依,碎J39nB448_p0457c24身莫贖。至卬兄繼席,翼欲請商結集語錄之J39nB448_p0458a01事,見至兄住持事冗,因不敢言,乃返禾中。後J39nB448_p0458a02至兄捃拾輯寫語錄,稿尚未編定,八月間復J39nB448_p0458a03溘焉長逝,由是嵩菴兄繼住。無何,先師薙度J39nB448_p0458a04英衲師,索先和尚語錄入都,嵩兄即將至兄J39nB448_p0458a05所集之稿送南澗。敘次,天笠和尚閱之,乃曰:J39nB448_p0458a06「因甚差誤多端,大非昔年之句,須得原稿方J39nB448_p0458a07好。況靈法兄真得大機用,從胸流出,一字一J39nB448_p0458a08句不可改易。」嵩兄因北行遄促,催請作序,以J39nB448_p0458a09冠卷首。其中句逗字義種種差訛,係前捃拾J39nB448_p0458a10傳寫之錯,非天和尚之咎。斯時翼總罔聞,後J39nB448_p0458a11知之,即送原稿入山,業已刻行。數年以來,高J39nB448_p0458a12閣不印,海內禪人以不見先和尚語錄為憾,J39nB448_p0458a13江浙緇素曾讀刻本者,又多以改誤為嫌。翼J39nB448_p0458a14見紛然異同,欲將原稿翻刻,令大唐國內見J39nB448_p0458a15先師真面目、活語句,以息意逆改壞之誚。癸J39nB448_p0458a16酉春,備員鳳山,值歲荒力薄,日夕抱疚。適新J39nB448_p0458a17安白雲子素兄屢頒手扎,促為刊正,至有死J39nB448_p0458a18亦瞑目之言,因復其待時稍稔,不但遵法兄J39nB448_p0458a19命,亦翼應為之事也。去夏冒暑走雲間,求沈J39nB448_p0458a20南季護法與吳日千先生序,以申重刻之由。J39nB448_p0458a21凡翼記集始末次序,間嘗聞命先師,一字一J39nB448_p0458a22句不敢去取,備錄而悉刻之,以俟同門諸兄J39nB448_p0458a23法眼或後繼起者,再為刪刻。翼之汲汲此役,J39nB448_p0458a24畏未刻者將淹沒無傳,已刻者終差舛失正,J39nB448_p0458b01蓋出於不得已也。且道先師正法眼果在斯J39nB448_p0458b02錄不在斯錄?閱者請下一轉語。

J39nB448_p0458c02鳳山先老人道風孤峻,有江南小釋迦之目,J39nB448_p0458c03煆煉學人,單提向上一著。凡衲子到山,必搜J39nB448_p0458c04索行笈,不容挾片紙入參堂。其生平語句,敲J39nB448_p0458c05骨見髓,斬絕葛藤,第不許繕寫流傳,故人見J39nB448_p0458c06之者罕。迨老人示寂後,有弟子某為入都行J39nB448_p0458c07促,匆匆鏤板,舛誤頗多。大展和尚慨然起而J39nB448_p0458c08釐正之,悉依當年親聞時紙衣所錄,不敢增J39nB448_p0458c09減隻字,所謂游夏不能贊一詞也,而老人真J39nB448_p0458c10面目于是乎出矣。從上祖師莫不有語錄垂J39nB448_p0458c11世,多或累函,少或數紙,皆所以開人天之眼J39nB448_p0458c12目,資來學之津梁。使或淆訛舛錯,則作者之J39nB448_p0458c13光明埋沒,何以開悟學人?其獲▆法門不少。J39nB448_p0458c14和尚此舉,良非得已也。和尚繼席風山,道▆J39nB448_p0458c15不讓老人,其光大祖庭功難▆▆▆▆▆▆J39nB448_p0458c16為策勳第一,▆光大祖庭▆屬家▆▆事,而J39nB448_p0458c17點出光明,使諸方得見正法眼藏,此天下萬J39nB448_p0458c18世之利,孟子之功豈在禹下哉?錄成,和尚命J39nB448_p0458c19侍師益三來徵蕪詞附後。余固初參和尚,亦J39nB448_p0458c20家裏人也,烏敢辭焉?
