J39nB448_p0423a02靈機禪師得法於金粟費老人,為其白足,後J39nB448_p0423a03闢講堂於翔鳳,為資福之開山祖。所傳語錄,J39nB448_p0423a04舊有鋟本,宗門推尚之久矣。今其法嗣大展,J39nB448_p0423a05繼席資福,以舊本之未盡厥傳也,將重加訂J39nB448_p0423a06正,梓而行之,請序於余。余聞禪門之學,空諸J39nB448_p0423a07所有,不立文字,即其當機問對,一言半偈,要J39nB448_p0423a08歸其旨於虛寂而已。靈師實能洞徹斯旨,故J39nB448_p0423a09其生平言語,不令其徒撰錄。舊本所載,亦其J39nB448_p0423a10侍者得於睹記,潛鈔而授之梓,用以廣其師J39nB448_p0423a11傳耳,非靈師之意也。今大展見謂未備,又欲J39nB448_p0423a12刻之,何歟?蓋釋氏之教,雖與儒者歸趣不同,J39nB448_p0423a13至於審辨源流,尊信師說,俾天下後世因其J39nB448_p0423a14言以知其人,而其教澤亦藉以不墜,其用心J39nB448_p0423a15則一也。韓子有言:「孟軻氏未嘗著書,今其七J39nB448_p0423a16篇,乃萬章、公孫丑之徒相與紀其言而傳之J39nB448_p0423a17耳。」由是言之,假令當時無尊信師說如諸子J39nB448_p0423a18其人者,則孟氏之書不傳,百世而下,安能使J39nB448_p0423a19其名赤赤卓卓為群儒冠哉?大展侍靈師最J39nB448_p0423a20久,得其宗旨獨深,其所睹記比他人尤詳,不J39nB448_p0423a21欲令其師傳之稍有湮沒也,則其於是役也,J39nB448_p0423a22能無亟亟乎?余喜大展之尊信師說與吾儒J39nB448_p0423a23同,而靈師之教澤亦藉其人以益廣也,故不J39nB448_p0423a24辭而序之。

刻正靈機禪師語錄原稿序
J39nB448_p0423b10昔玉林和尚語諸弟子曰:「天下宗師,靈機第J39nB448_p0423b11一。」蓋師為海內所推服,稱臨濟正宗,一語一J39nB448_p0423b12默,一顰一笑,皆甘露也。師示寂後,有弟子急J39nB448_p0423b13於入都,倉卒梓師語錄二卷,攜之北行。時入J39nB448_p0423b14室弟子大展,方養母他山,未得預聞。後繼席J39nB448_p0423b15翔鳳,見錄中改誤多端,前後易置,不勝驚惋,J39nB448_p0423b16謂先師語錄,乃一代人天眼目,安可淆訛失J39nB448_p0423b17序?欲悉依原稿刻正,垂示百世,俾吳騏為敘。J39nB448_p0423b18騏謂語錄與文章異,文章之家,研京十年,練J39nB448_p0423b19都一紀,追琢求工,故可改也。語錄出自見地,J39nB448_p0423b20如火必熱,如水必溼,如金必堅,如刀必利,豈J39nB448_p0423b21容商酌擬議哉?不待商酌擬議,而一切賓主J39nB448_p0423b22炤用,殺活與奪,性靈手眼,千品萬偈,無所不J39nB448_p0423b23備。譬人始生,五官百骸,腑臟膏血,八萬毛孔,J39nB448_p0423b24一時具足,若有刪改文飾,則是裝偶塑像,非J39nB448_p0423c01生人也。人已生矣,而欲脩削之,雕琢之,豈非J39nB448_p0423c02事理之萬萬不可者哉?昔歐陽公以《舊唐書.J39nB448_p0423c03張濬傳》中「做面子」三字不雅,改為作態。識者J39nB448_p0423c04謂做面子三字,意忌而含怒,氣傲而詞強;作J39nB448_p0423c05態二字,意謔而含笑,氣柔而語弱,情事全失,J39nB448_p0423c06不如舊書遠甚。夫歐公之才,且不能輕易改J39nB448_p0423c07書,而況不如歐公者也?藥山聞雲巖一言曰:J39nB448_p0423c08「吾於此得見海兄。」百世之後,有讀語錄而見J39nB448_p0423c09靈機真面目者,大展之力也夫。

序
J39nB448_p0423c18古有言:「行解相應,名之曰祖。」今之據名剎、踐祖位者,J39nB448_p0423c19說法如雲如雨,謦欬如珠如玉,察其所為,則行不副J39nB448_p0423c20解、解不副行,總被二風所觸,傲然竊名於祖位,可乎?J39nB448_p0423c21惟吾楊墳觀和尚,幼陞天童之堂,刳心礪志,真參實J39nB448_p0423c22悟,直躋金粟堂奧,倒捋逆批,費老人素稱室中真子J39nB448_p0423c23也。厥後住山三十載,足不踰閫,故能不起于座,化荊J39nB448_p0423c24棘為寶坊;無法當情,辨龍蛇於叱吒。其激揚宗旨,萬J39nB448_p0423c25指鏗鏘,即飽參宿學之士,一嬰其鋒,靡不讋縮咋舌J39nB448_p0423c26而退。是以喻其刻苦蒞眾,則如珠走雪床之楊岐也;J39nB448_p0424a01論其頌古渾樸,則如敲金戛玉之白雲也;觀其機用J39nB448_p0424a02敏捷,則如縱奪臨時、捉敗同參之興化也。至若開法J39nB448_p0424a03四十年來,法語機緣甚夥,每呵今時別傳之旨泥於J39nB448_p0424a04文字,禁止謄錄,既沒而無隻字示人,則又跂乎雲門J39nB448_p0424a05諸老之上矣。茲所行於世者,其門人久侍,潛鈔密記,J39nB448_p0424a06輳集而成書,蓋十存其一耳。嗚呼!和尚之行解,卓然J39nB448_p0424a07足以邁古超今,滅卻正宗之嫡髓,詎在多乎?是為序。

J39nB448_p0424c05陞座。J39nB448_p0424c06師自崇禎甲申春誅茅翔鳳,至順治甲午冬眾求結J39nB448_p0424c07制,海鹽徐君載護法、夫人行脩請陞座。僧問:「豁開戶J39nB448_p0424c08牖,妙手難描,當軒者誰?抬眸錯過。」師以棒擉開,云:「到J39nB448_p0424c09即不點。」進云:「秪如強項不回頭者,和尚如何施設?」師J39nB448_p0424c10云:「且居門外。」進云:「門內底又作麼生?」師云:「自招款案。」J39nB448_p0424c11問:「大制從來無結解,因何平地起風波?」師云:「早知恁J39nB448_p0424c12麼已是遲。」進云:「天上天下,惟吾獨尊去也。」師便打,云:J39nB448_p0424c13「轉見郎當。」問:「翔鳳峰前呈瑞色,缽盂山上播祥光,佛J39nB448_p0424c14法大意即不問,開罏結制事如何?」師云:「好向風頭看J39nB448_p0424c15火色。」進云:「謝師指示。」師云:「也須眼底辨金鋀。」問:「翔鳳J39nB448_p0424c16峰頭作舞,十方海會雲臻,就中一句應時及節,請師J39nB448_p0424c17宣。」師云:「秪要腳踏實,自然眼豁開。」進云:「為憐三歲子,J39nB448_p0424c18不惜兩行眉。」師云:「識得山僧也未?」進云:「吞納大千門J39nB448_p0424c19不二,堂堂廓落露全機。」師便打,乃豎拂子,云:「此便是J39nB448_p0424c20當年鷲嶺微笑一著子。恁麼見得,則黃面老子、金色J39nB448_p0424c21頭陀一肩擔荷,徹體無多,直得正法眼人人今古彌J39nB448_p0424c22亙、涅槃心箇箇歷劫不磨,掃卻從前閑露布,那來迷J39nB448_p0424c23悟涉淆訛?忽有箇傍不甘底出來道:『是則是,今日剋J39nB448_p0424c24期立限,也是平地干戈。』」驀與他一棒,云:「無繩索縛英J39nB448_p0424c25靈漢,汝又將身入網羅。」
J39nB448_p0424c26鹽官張行脩居士同室沈氏壽誕,請陞座。師云:「抱膝J39nB448_p0424c27鳳山下,常年口懶開,那堪輕漏泄?今日又重來。諸兄J39nB448_p0424c28弟!來也來了,說無可說。何故?千說萬說原是一說,千J39nB448_p0424c29聞萬聞秪是一聞。若也見得,則昨日說、今日說,說說J39nB448_p0424c30自超越;昨日聞、今日聞,聞聞絕比倫。方信本來一著J39nB448_p0425a01子,迥超天地獨為尊。忽有箇衲僧出來道:『者漢前言J39nB448_p0425a02不顧後語,好與三十棒。』但向他道:『汝擔得好板棒,我J39nB448_p0425a03也甘喫。爭奈武原人未肯點頭在。』」乃揮拂子,云:「但願J39nB448_p0425a04春風吹不老,瞎驢笑得口門開。」
J39nB448_p0425a05師誕,自慶禪人請陞座。師云:「釋迦不出世,達摩不西J39nB448_p0425a06來,佛法遍天下,談玄口不開。諸兄弟!向者裏會得,還J39nB448_p0425a07有佛祖立地處也無?還容觀上座說青道黃也無?殊J39nB448_p0425a08不知,未生面目,箇箇全彰;覿體風光,人人具足。回觀J39nB448_p0425a09三藏十二部,是甚熱碗鳴聲?一千七百則,是甚狗咬J39nB448_p0425a10枯骨?正眼看來,無夢說夢、無事生事,正好朝打三千、J39nB448_p0425a11暮打八百。忽有箇漢聞與麼道,憤性出來道:『資福!你J39nB448_p0425a12者般饒舌,已是好肉剜瘡,欺陷平人。』資福終不壓良J39nB448_p0425a13為賤。拄杖子兩手分付。何故?舉揚恁麼事,須是恁麼J39nB448_p0425a14人;幸有恁麼人,方諳恁麼事。其或不然,未免死水裏J39nB448_p0425a15藏龍。欲搆宗門向上事,何啻萬里望潼關?雖然如是,J39nB448_p0425a16今晨自禪人製法衣為我慶壽,諸兄弟慇懃強我舉J39nB448_p0425a17揚,且道說箇甚麼即得?若說有生有死,卻是病目見J39nB448_p0425a18空花;若說無死無生,又是怖頭走他國。去此二途,如J39nB448_p0425a19何端的?阿呵呵!當初只謂茅長短,燒了元來地不平。」
J39nB448_p0425a20結制,陞座。師云:「未過楊墳渡,撒手便回,決無今日事;J39nB448_p0425a21既過渡來,結住布袋口,縱有韜略,卒無用處。且如何J39nB448_p0425a22是今日事?諸人還知麼?若也知得,畫地為牢,終非究J39nB448_p0425a23竟;無繩自縛,豈自甘休?直須活潑潑如俊鶻沖霄,赤J39nB448_p0425a24灑灑似錦鱗破浪。苟或未然,勸諸人莫廉纖,安排不J39nB448_p0425a25是佛,扭捏亦非禪,千盃不醉風流子,吸盡西江不費錢。」
J39nB448_p0425a26師誕日,雲間、苕霅眾居士請陞座。問答不錄。師云:「昨J39nB448_p0425a27日者箇時節全無消息,卻有巴鼻;今日者箇時節雖J39nB448_p0425a28無巴鼻,卻有消息。若向昨日會去,爭見今朝消息?若J39nB448_p0425a29向今日會去,難辯昨日巴鼻。說是語時,叵耐翔鳳峰J39nB448_p0425a30忍俊不禁,牽拽缽盂案開口大笑,直得天落山與大J39nB448_p0425b01遮山睜眉怒目一齊震動,嚇得瞎驢隊裏跳出許多J39nB448_p0425b02泥牛白牯,徬徨四顧,未得翻身。山僧見其恐怖生心,J39nB448_p0425b03連忙捺出老婆心,懸挂剎竿上,乃向道:『汝等善生瞻J39nB448_p0425b04仰,此段微妙難信之法乃自心現量境界,只要返本J39nB448_p0425b05還源,便踏故鄉田地。』於是,翔鳳峰、缽盂案、天落山與J39nB448_p0425b06大遮山方得歡喜讚歎。」合掌而作偈言:「業擊禺山債J39nB448_p0425b07未休,知非己過又從頭,耙犁雖不拖泥水,耕遍乾坤J39nB448_p0425b08四海流。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB448_p0425b09師誕日,棲水眾居士請陞座。僧問:「昔日釋迦離兜率,J39nB448_p0425b10降王宮,意旨如何?」師云:「南山起雲。」進云:「指天指地,目J39nB448_p0425b11顧四方,唯我獨尊,又作麼生?」師云:「與汝通箇消息。」進J39nB448_p0425b12云:「雲門曰:『我當時若見,一棒打殺與狗子喫。』且道是J39nB448_p0425b13雪屈?是報恩?」師云:「丈夫氣宇合如斯。」進云:「今日吾師J39nB448_p0425b14出世,還有為人句也無?」師云:「重說偈言。」進云:「苕水今J39nB448_p0425b15朝年半百,漆園贏得八千椿。」師云:「也要大家知。」問:「桃J39nB448_p0425b16花放小春,欲結千歲實,為復是慶生?為復是應時?」師J39nB448_p0425b17云:「分別即不得。」進云:「昔日靈雲見便悟,如何是悟底J39nB448_p0425b18意旨?」師云:「鼻孔大頭垂。」進云:「今朝資福不知幾多人J39nB448_p0425b19悟去?」師云:「惺惺者惺惺,懵懂者懵懂。」進云:「和盤托出J39nB448_p0425b20從人薦,只要諸人鑑本真。」師云:「一任轉量。」僧禮拜。桃J39nB448_p0425b21含章居士問:「釋迦降生,九龍吐水,和尚示誕,有何祥J39nB448_p0425b22瑞?」師云:「謝居士齋。」進云:「蒙師指出波心月,箇裏寒潭J39nB448_p0425b23徹底清。」師云:「要汝自承當。」乃云:「資福五十年來不曾J39nB448_p0425b24咬著一粒米,且道噇箇甚麼?五十年來不曾挂著一J39nB448_p0425b25縷絲,且道穿箇甚麼?於斯明得,不惟日消萬兩黃金,J39nB448_p0425b26亦合受四天下供養;於斯不明,粒米寸絲也當拖犁J39nB448_p0425b27拽耙償他始得。大眾!因甚如此?得人一牛,還人一馬。」J39nB448_p0425b28下座。
J39nB448_p0425b29大殿上樑,陞座。師云:「闢艸開荒,全憑衲子扶揚;插標J39nB448_p0425b30建剎,猶賴龍天呵護。無龍天呵護,難繼昔人遺蹤;有J39nB448_p0425c01衲子扶揚,方成今日叢席。雖然,此猶是建立門庭邊J39nB448_p0425c02事。正眼觀來,盡大地是寶王剎,何興?何廢?何古?何今?J39nB448_p0425c03遍剎塵是淨法身,誰增?誰減?誰聖?誰凡?既無聖凡增J39nB448_p0425c04減,又無古今興廢,則現前大眾,若僧、若俗,若男、若女,J39nB448_p0425c05乃至遠近檀護,不期自集,便合迴光返炤,悟明得去,J39nB448_p0425c06則寶王殿內人人立地有分,淨法身中箇箇覿體無J39nB448_p0425c07二。倘或未諳,向第二義門更為諸人通箇消息:村歌J39nB448_p0425c08社舞喧天鬧,笑看虛空架畫梁。」卓拄杖,下座。
J39nB448_p0425c09逸凡上座同雲間眾居士送大鐘入山,請陞座。師云:J39nB448_p0425c10「法門有大器,乾坤絕覆藏,赤身擔荷漢,渴力為敷揚,J39nB448_p0425c11敷揚喜有其人。秪如大器到來,如何與伊證據?」卓拄J39nB448_p0425c12杖,云:「向者裏證據得去,皇恩、佛恩一時報畢,檀施、法J39nB448_p0425c13施兩得相酬,更說甚麼聞聲悟道,方諳箇裏端倪;見J39nB448_p0425c14色明心,始信本來是佛?然則今日法柄在握,畢竟令J39nB448_p0425c15歸何地?」復以拄杖向空點,云:「若將耳聽終難會,眼裏J39nB448_p0425c16聞聲方始親。」
J39nB448_p0425c17逸凡上座領雲間民仲吳居士六旬請陞座。首座問:J39nB448_p0425c18「有物先天地,無形本寂寥。既是無形,又喚甚麼作物?」J39nB448_p0425c19師云:「主山恒突兀。」進云:「能為萬象主,不逐四時凋。目J39nB448_p0425c20前萬象森然,四時代謝,作麼生是不凋底意旨?」師云:J39nB448_p0425c21「澗水自長流。」進云:「秪如居士誕期敦請說法,未審如J39nB448_p0425c22何慶讚?」師云:「合寺人多慶。」進云:「恁麼則華亭信有千J39nB448_p0425c23年鶴,今日親從海上來。」師云:「共謝飽香齋。」乃云:「昨夜J39nB448_p0425c24翔鳳關與禺泉亭爭論甚鬧,一謂佛法貴要乘時宣J39nB448_p0425c25說、一謂佛法不可輕易流布,卻被缽盂案開口大笑。J39nB448_p0425c26山僧忍俊不禁,各與三十拄杖。試問:者三十拄杖還J39nB448_p0425c27有賞罰也無?若有,賞罰在甚麼處?若無,衲僧眼何在?J39nB448_p0425c28民仲吳居士,你是雲間伶俐漢,聞者般說話便與麼J39nB448_p0425c29會去,不惟罔極之恩今已報盡,則本來壽量亦見延J39nB448_p0425c30長。秪如天台頂上行,忽逢南海天平僧又作麼生?」遂J39nB448_p0426a01揮拂,云:「盡把無生消息露,卻來人世樂逍遙。」
J39nB448_p0426a02塘棲沈君善居士為母十週送法衣,請陞座。止水問:J39nB448_p0426a03「生死交謝,寒暑迭遷,有物流動,人之常情。只如無陰J39nB448_p0426a04陽,地上如何舉步?」師云:「你即今在甚麼處?」進云:「秪如J39nB448_p0426a05沈居士請法薦親,且道功歸何所?」師云:「腦後著眼看。」J39nB448_p0426a06進云:「與麼則生身父母居堂上,從本爺娘在頂門。」師J39nB448_p0426a07云:「何曾離者裏?」進云:「一念頓超諸祖意,者回方始報J39nB448_p0426a08親恩。」師云:「又要重添註腳。」問:「昔日世尊說法,天雨四J39nB448_p0426a09花,地搖六震,今朝和尚陞堂,豎拂拈椎,現何祥瑞?」師J39nB448_p0426a10云:「腳跟齊點地。」進云:「翔鳳峰頭祥霧地,缽盂巖畔瑞J39nB448_p0426a11雲生。」師云:「風光溢目多。」問:「人天普集,選佛場開,為人J39nB448_p0426a12一句如何舉唱?」師云:「一棒一條痕。」進云:「萬象森羅咸J39nB448_p0426a13稽首,大千沙界盡沾恩。」師拈棒云:「會取棒頭旨。」僧禮J39nB448_p0426a14拜,師乃云:「祖師西來初無奇特,一念回機便同本得,J39nB448_p0426a15只是不合誤賺老神光斷卻一臂,帶累自家失卻一J39nB448_p0426a16隻。者一隻、那一隻,東土與西天無處得尋覓。阿呵呵!J39nB448_p0426a17若是明眼人,終不受渠惑。」復舉:「長水問瑯琊覺:『《楞嚴J39nB448_p0426a18經》云:「清淨本然,云何忽生山河大地?」』瑯琊抗聲云:『清J39nB448_p0426a19淨本然,云何忽生山河大地?』長水當下悟去。」師云:「據J39nB448_p0426a20古人恁麼問答,且那裏是長水悟底道理?若明得長J39nB448_p0426a21水悟底道理,便明得今日𣲧君翁為母十週敦請薦J39nB448_p0426a22拔,山僧功不浪施。雖然,伶俐漢向者裏悟去,山河大J39nB448_p0426a23地忽生且止,要且清淨本然又從甚處得來?還委悉J39nB448_p0426a24麼?返本還源諳落處,齎衣請法入山來,須知一念全J39nB448_p0426a25彰處,覿面慈容笑眼開。」卓拄杖,下座。
J39nB448_p0426a26棲鎮眾檀護送藏經到山,請陞座。問答不錄。師云:「棲J39nB448_p0426a27水諸居士,請藏入山來,山僧無法說,合掌笑盈腮。何J39nB448_p0426a28故?蓋此山自唐宋迄今數百餘載,為江淛最大名藍,J39nB448_p0426a29歷代尊宿存名計住者共三十餘位。嗣後年代既爾J39nB448_p0426a30深遠,興廢亦復多番,荊蓁蔓艸,觸目荒涼。山僧勉力J39nB448_p0426b01拮据,同眾株守,數年以來麤成叢席,實自無心有所J39nB448_p0426b02希求。今此法王大寶自然而至,豈非法門一大盛事J39nB448_p0426b03哉?雖然,此猶是敘述茲山履歷之意,表揚此藏際會J39nB448_p0426b04之緣。若據當人一著本來具足,須知三藏十二部一J39nB448_p0426b05切脩多羅……」驀豎拂子,云:「皆從者裏流出。諸人若也會J39nB448_p0426b06得,便見今日諸檀護發殊勝心、成殊勝事,亦皆從者J39nB448_p0426b07裏流出。且道:者裏又向甚麼處流出?還委悉麼?不辭J39nB448_p0426b08潦倒明宣破,只恐剜傷好肉瘡。」卓拄杖,下座。
J39nB448_p0426b09棲水邵文孚居士薦親,請陞座。茹檗首座問:「樹欲靜J39nB448_p0426b10而風不停,子欲養而親不在,令人常憶〈蓼莪篇〉罔極J39nB448_p0426b11之恩喻覆載。正與麼時,酬恩一句作麼生道?」師云:「解J39nB448_p0426b12脫門開喜到來。」進云:「古人道:『今生父母當親近,從本J39nB448_p0426b13爺娘仔細看。』秪如從本爺娘作麼生看?」師云:「覿面團J39nB448_p0426b14圞絕覆藏。」進云:「恁麼則生死涅槃皆是夢,嚴慈何處J39nB448_p0426b15隔纖毫?」師云:「知得恁麼,方解恁麼。」乃云:「雲在嶺頭閒,J39nB448_p0426b16水流澗底忙,不知何大意,終日自掀揚。諸兄弟!便與J39nB448_p0426b17麼會,還得心境一如也未?還得物我雙忘也未?若未J39nB448_p0426b18得心境一如、物我雙忘,到者裏也須是箇漢,方能赤J39nB448_p0426b19灑無依、風流自在。不見盤山和尚道:『心月孤圓,光吞J39nB448_p0426b20萬象,光非炤境,境亦非存。光境俱忘,復是何物?』洞山J39nB448_p0426b21云:『光境未忘,復是何物?』大慧云:『白鷺下田千點雪,黃J39nB448_p0426b22鸝上樹一枝花。』我先天童密師翁云:『孟八郎漢又恁J39nB448_p0426b23麼去也。』從上尊宿直截為人,無非發明者箇端倪,者J39nB448_p0426b24箇端倪明了,然自亦不知是箇甚麼。若有甚麼可知,J39nB448_p0426b25即墮在無為無事人,猶患金鎖難行腳。高流參尋箇J39nB448_p0426b26事,者般旨意大須審細。山僧今日說此無上大法,蓋J39nB448_p0426b27為文孚居士請薦二親,用報罔極之恩。罔極之恩既J39nB448_p0426b28報,且道他二尊人即今在甚麼處安身立命?」遂卓拄J39nB448_p0426b29杖,云:「急著眼,莫沉吟,自從股落霜刀後,遍界分明淨J39nB448_p0426b30法身。」便下座。居士曾割股療親。
J39nB448_p0426c01德水上座領棲水思蓮尼并眾善信送法被,請陞座。J39nB448_p0426c02僧問:「猊座高登,人天普集,少室家風,請師吐露。」師拈J39nB448_p0426c03拂,云:「分明秪者箇。」進云:「此是衲僧尋常見解,秪如針J39nB448_p0426c04劄不入處又如何通信?」師云:「又被白雲迷。」進云:「學人J39nB448_p0426c05識得和尚了也,且道今日塘棲眾善信齎送法被,功J39nB448_p0426c06歸何所?」師云:「功歸何所則且置,作麼生是識得山僧J39nB448_p0426c07底意?」進云:「與麼獅子吼時芳艸綠,象王回顧落花紅。」J39nB448_p0426c08師呵呵,云:「切忌重露布,撥過那邊立。」僧禮拜,云:「因師J39nB448_p0426c09置得。」師云:「又要拖帶。」問:「密密金針鋒不露,綿綿玉線J39nB448_p0426c10縫偏長,到來一眾咸胥慶,師意如何為舉揚?」師云:「惹J39nB448_p0426c11得春風動地來。」進云:「秪如重重寶蓋自天垂,朵朵金J39nB448_p0426c12蓮從地湧時如何?」師云:「上座也須著眼觀。」僧禮拜,云:J39nB448_p0426c13「天上人間得自由去也。」師云:「猶落路頭在。」進云:「意氣J39nB448_p0426c14不從他處得,風光自是本來同。」師云:「但願恁麼去。」問:J39nB448_p0426c15「揭開幔天網,突出獅子吼,百獸盡潛蹤,龍象笑開口。J39nB448_p0426c16如何笑開口一句?」師云:「炤顧腦門裂。」進云:「世尊未離J39nB448_p0426c17兜率,已降王宮;和尚未出母胎,度人已畢。正恁麼時,J39nB448_p0426c18坐斷當陽,且道度箇甚麼?」師曰:「更要覓阿誰?」進云:「恁J39nB448_p0426c19麼則龍得水時添意氣,虎逢山勢長威獰。」師打,云:「猶J39nB448_p0426c20要棒喫。」僧喝,師云:「不信道。」問:「那邊親證一回,卻來者J39nB448_p0426c21邊行履。者邊事即不問,那邊事作麼生?」師云:「覿面相J39nB448_p0426c22見了,何必又重宣?」進云:「向上還有事也無?」師云:「有。」進J39nB448_p0426c23云:「如何是向上事?」師垂拂子,云:「試看者一著。」僧禮拜,J39nB448_p0426c24云:「到家更不涉程途去也。」師呵呵大笑,乃云:「天然妙J39nB448_p0426c25手,出格針鋒,繡成古錦金獅現,突踞當陽氣象雄。諸J39nB448_p0426c26兄弟!似者般容妙,猶是描畫邊事,尚爾驚群絕勝,儼J39nB448_p0426c27然如活。何不返觀當人一著,向描畫不及處一覷,覷J39nB448_p0426c28透自家面目,方知此事不從人得。要知此事不從人J39nB448_p0426c29得,便是玄沙𡎺破指頭回雪峰,峰問:『傋頭陀何不遍J39nB448_p0426c30參去?』沙云:『達摩不來東土,二祖不往西天,教某甲參J39nB448_p0427a01阿誰?』山僧當時見玄沙明此消息,不覺豁開笑眼,如J39nB448_p0427a02在萬人叢裏輥出相似。所以,尋常敢道:雲門打釋迦J39nB448_p0427a03未是好手,臨濟掌黃蘗猶欠忤逆。須知更有一人越J39nB448_p0427a04過臨濟、雲門之見,方堪語話。既越過雲門、臨濟之見J39nB448_p0427a05了,又要語話箇甚麼?是汝諸人還知翔鳳老漢立地J39nB448_p0427a06處麼?自從打落青天後,笑看森羅萬象奔。」卓拄杖,喝J39nB448_p0427a07一喝,下座。
J39nB448_p0427a08樓水鄒吉人居士為母六秩請陞座。師云:「楊墳深口J39nB448_p0427a09銕般易過,資福門前直路難行,那來龍象眾,滿座競J39nB448_p0427a10崢嶸?繞圍聽我法,我法絕形名,白棒當頭指,麤拳覿J39nB448_p0427a11面呈,都教箇箇風流脫灑,直令人人手眼精明,銕饅J39nB448_p0427a12頭喫飽齁齁,無米飯克滿騰騰。是則是,忽有箇漢出J39nB448_p0427a13來問:『秪如今朝者般受用從何而得?』但向他道:『源遠J39nB448_p0427a14流長棲水綠,萬年森鬱鳳山青。』」卓拄杖,下座。
J39nB448_p0427a15棲水張瑞宇居士同室夏氏五秩請陞座。問答不錄。J39nB448_p0427a16師云:「幻夢浮生五十春,團圞琴瑟共同倫,轉頭一念J39nB448_p0427a17彌今古,信荷金剛不壞身。山僧已為居士祝壽了也,J39nB448_p0427a18直得三十餘代老古錐騰身踴躍,合掌證據,云:『是真J39nB448_p0427a19語者,實語者,如語者,不誑語者。』是你諸人還見麼?若J39nB448_p0427a20也見得,便見當時澧陽路上賣餅婆子因德山肚餓J39nB448_p0427a21要點心,婆問:『《金剛經》中道:過去心不可得,現在心不J39nB448_p0427a22可得,未來心不可得。上座擬點那箇心?』山無語,後到J39nB448_p0427a23龍潭向紙燈吹滅處豁然大悟。且道悟箇甚麼?還是J39nB448_p0427a24悟三心不可得耶?悟紙燈吹滅耶?伶俐漢向者裏一J39nB448_p0427a25覷便破,不惟穿卻那婆子風流鼻孔,亦可與老德山J39nB448_p0427a26把臂共行;若猶未也,謾道咽喉遭餅塞,眼睛突出始J39nB448_p0427a27超方。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB448_p0427a28師六旬誕日,雲間、檇李、霅溪眾護法請陞座。問答不J39nB448_p0427a29錄。師云:「今日春風何處來?滿筵龍象盡欣懷,山僧不J39nB448_p0427a30會欣懷意,但見諸人笑眼開。雖然,山僧既不會,固是J39nB448_p0427b01窺覷無門。諸人笑眼開,且道明甚邊事?若有所明,因J39nB448_p0427b02甚山僧不會?若無所明,笑眼開底又是箇甚麼?到者J39nB448_p0427b03裏,描固不成、畫亦不就,囫圇拋出,莫閒休咎。生銕面J39nB448_p0427b04皮既絕攀躋,破沙盆子那來歲壽?」乃呵呵大笑,云:「青J39nB448_p0427b05山耐盡冷冰心,誰道今朝又漏逗?」
J39nB448_p0427b06解制,陞座。僧問:「九旬已滿即不問,魚龍變化是如何?」J39nB448_p0427b07師打,云:「看汝轉身來。」進云:「頭角養成忝意氣,大千何J39nB448_p0427b08處不風流?」師云:「直須腳踏實地始得。」僧禮拜,云:「謝師J39nB448_p0427b09答話。」師云:「一句好愁人。」問:「春光和暖百花新,未降王J39nB448_p0427b10宮已度人,解制今朝即不問,當陽慶讚若為陳?」師云:J39nB448_p0427b11「本來清淨體,脂粉漫塗糊。」進云:「翔鳳山頭呈瑞氣,缽J39nB448_p0427b12盂案上獻醍醐。」師云:「妄想幾多人?」問:「嶺上二枝春爛J39nB448_p0427b13熳,瓊樓玉殿發光輝,且道是甚麼人境界?」師打,云:「面J39nB448_p0427b14目甚分明。」僧喝,師云:「棒頭開正眼,端的始知歸。」乃云:J39nB448_p0427b15「一冬與諸人眉毛廝結,今日擬欲開交,且道箇甚麼J39nB448_p0427b16即得?若道去則有鉤鉤汝,未免按牛頭喫艸;住則有J39nB448_p0427b17錐錐汝,也是平地上起堆。爭如鉤也不施、錐也不用,J39nB448_p0427b18一條古路八字打開,一任諸人南天台、北五臺,逗到J39nB448_p0427b19羅紋結角之際,忽地踏斷石梁橋、擊碎玻璃盞,寒拾J39nB448_p0427b20豐干非從外見,金毛師利覿面相逢,方知資福一片J39nB448_p0427b21老婆心為諸人徹困,自是諸人不會。所以道:『聖號凡J39nB448_p0427b22名盡是虛聲,殊相劣形皆為幻色。汝欲求之,得無累J39nB448_p0427b23乎?及其厭之,又成大患。』與麼說話,仔細看來,大似描J39nB448_p0427b24畫虛空,徒勞指註。且作麼生是真實為人一句?歸家J39nB448_p0427b25盡是兒孫事,祖父從來不出門。」
J39nB448_p0427b26雲間眾居士請陞座。止水問:「昔日嬌尸迦與古佛裝J39nB448_p0427b27像,果感天主,即今雲間義友十人,請師為眾舉揚,當J39nB448_p0427b28獲何果?」師云:「且喜春風動地來。」進云:「與麼則昔日古J39nB448_p0427b29佛,今朝和尚也。」師云:「你又分身兩處看。」進云:「可謂人J39nB448_p0427b30人開正眼,箇箇豁頂門去也。」師云:「如何是你正眼?」進J39nB448_p0427c01云:「夾路桃花風雨後,馬蹄何處避殘紅?」師云:「狼藉不J39nB448_p0427c02少。」乃云:「負沖天氣概,必具參尋眼目;入作家爐韝,須J39nB448_p0427c03盡妙手鉗鎚。鉗鎚未盡,末後牢關終隔礙;眼目不具,J39nB448_p0427c04陷身虀甕受迷籠。」驀拈拄杖,云:「然則者箇終朝列列J39nB448_p0427c05挈挈,長年挺挺特特,具何眼目?入何爐韝?若也辨得,J39nB448_p0427c06便可七縱八橫,以一莖艸作丈六金身,瓊樓玉宇掌J39nB448_p0427c07中觀,坐微塵裏轉大法輪,大千沙界腳尖上,即今銕J39nB448_p0427c08饅頭一任橫吞豎咬,無米飯不妨端坐受供;如或未J39nB448_p0427c09然,雲間路杳,翔鳳峰高,難弟難兄親到此,也須各各J39nB448_p0427c10動寒毛。」遂卓拄杖,下座。
住嘉興府石門縣福嚴禪寺語錄
J39nB448_p0427c12康熙辛亥歲,師受嘉禾石邑眾紳衿諸護法暨本山J39nB448_p0427c13兩序耆舊請,於九月十二日進院。至
J39nB448_p0427c14山門。師以杖指云:「此是先師當年開闢之處,英賢代J39nB448_p0427c15起,盡出斯門。山僧今日到來又且如何舉步?飲水知J39nB448_p0427c16源開眼笑,銕船無底渡崑崙。」
J39nB448_p0427c17佛殿。「一言獨稱尊,傍觀幾打殺,多少不平人,含冤而J39nB448_p0427c18怒說。休怒說,從今不必動干戈,海晏河清唱哩囉。」
J39nB448_p0427c19伽藍。「自受靈峰囑,千觔擔子挑,我今承護念,庶事賴J39nB448_p0427c20和調。雖然,更有一句子也要互相委悉。」遂插香,云:「此J39nB448_p0427c21心無媿赤條條。」
J39nB448_p0427c22祖師。「眼眼蒼黃色,鼻鼻柏子香,雖然無可語,箇箇舌J39nB448_p0427c23頭長。咦!不是兒孫今看破,早將家醜外邊揚。」
J39nB448_p0427c24據室。「若論此事,山僧不敢苟順人情。何故?蓋者裏是J39nB448_p0427c25先師行綱立紀、為法存公之處,若以本分未徹、履踐J39nB448_p0427c26未當,糢糊學者,罪犯彌天。且道新福嚴以何為人?一J39nB448_p0427c27陌清風穿鼻竅,眼開不受自欺瞞。」
J39nB448_p0427c28當日,眾護法請陞座。問答不錄。師云:「佛法自有時節,J39nB448_p0427c29因緣不可覆藏。憶自先師辭世,山僧以心喪株守翔J39nB448_p0427c30鳳,迄今十載,志在鈍钁頭邊鋤雲補衲,遂此餘生。無J39nB448_p0428a01奈業力難逃,被那隊神通羅漢并諸妙用維摩鉤住J39nB448_p0428a02鼻端,必欲牽拽至語水河畔。仔細思量,實無計可,只J39nB448_p0428a03得老牛拖重耙,從迎恩渡過勸農橋,登師堂、入師室、J39nB448_p0428a04據師座,凡先師所屬疆界一一勉力維持,祖父者片J39nB448_p0428a05田地處處徹底翻覆,繼往開來悉憑前數,酬恩報德J39nB448_p0428a06盡在今朝。」遂顧視左右,喝一喝,云:「不是山僧多潦倒,J39nB448_p0428a07大都父業子承當。」卓拄杖,下座。
J39nB448_p0428a08護法曹遠思同弟正則、子巖,為母太夫人八十壽,請J39nB448_p0428a09陞座。僧問:「祝一人無盡之壽,開十方選佛之場,建殊J39nB448_p0428a10勝緣,作奇特事。忽有箇無面目漢到來,如何相待?」師J39nB448_p0428a11豎拂,云:「秪將者箇為證據。」進云:「與麼則覿面相呈,更J39nB448_p0428a12無回互去也。」師云:「須是恁麼始得。」進云:「可謂是處是J39nB448_p0428a13慈氏,無門無善才。」師云:「此句是重言。」問:「天垂寶蓋,地J39nB448_p0428a14湧金蓮,為是法爾如然?為是神通妙用?」師云:「總不恁J39nB448_p0428a15麼。」進云:「還丹一粒,點銕成金;至理一言,轉凡成聖。今J39nB448_p0428a16日太夫人壽誕,請師至理一言。」師云:「千年蟠桃核。」進J39nB448_p0428a17云:「昔日世尊陞座,文殊白椎云:『諦觀法王法,法王法J39nB448_p0428a18如是。』未審意旨如何?」師云:「有眼盡皆見。」進云:「恁麼則J39nB448_p0428a19寶劍一揮天地靜,雙眸纔舉斗牛寒。」師云:「脫體任風J39nB448_p0428a20流。」進云:「學人禮拜去也。」師卓拄杖,云:「不堪與麼。」僧一J39nB448_p0428a21喝,師云:「又欠端的。」問:「鐘鼓交參,龍象雲集,滿座風光,J39nB448_p0428a22承誰恩力?」師云:「杲日見當空。」進云:「恁麼則壽算等空J39nB448_p0428a23誰比量?福同滄海若為倫。」師云:「何勞讚歎?」乃云:「今日J39nB448_p0428a24一眾咸集座下,擬聽山僧為太夫人說法稱壽,且道J39nB448_p0428a25說箇甚麼即得?若說世間法,渠自興家立業、教子育J39nB448_p0428a26孫,乃至發科發甲、為官為貴,冰霜凜冽、節儉維風,可J39nB448_p0428a27謂巾幗丈夫,早已傳頌閭里,又烏用山僧彈述其萬J39nB448_p0428a28一?若說出世法,渠自皈向先師,信荷宗乘將四十載,J39nB448_p0428a29衛護此山垂老不忘,非宿願弘深,焉能諄切若是?所J39nB448_p0428a30以,凡海內衲子知有福嚴叢林者,莫不知有曹氏金J39nB448_p0428b01湯之力。如是,則太夫人壽如福嚴,與天中並垂不朽;J39nB448_p0428b02壽如語水,同碧玉深濬無窮。直得森羅萬象俱呈瑞J39nB448_p0428b03彩,山河大地遍覆祥雲,皆是太夫人本有之物,亦是J39nB448_p0428b04先師光明之幢。是你諸人還覺眉毛卓朔麼?山僧已J39nB448_p0428b05自忍俊不禁,再為助揚一上。」遂呈起拄杖,云:「不涉陰J39nB448_p0428b06陽超物表,當堂彌播古今春。」復以拄杖架肩,下座。
J39nB448_p0428b07薦亡,請陞座。僧問:「一念無為俱坐斷,森羅影裏現全J39nB448_p0428b08身,此猶是教乘極則邊事,如何是衲僧向上鉗錘?」師J39nB448_p0428b09云:「又添一箇癡獃。」進云:「生也不道,死也不道,即今姜J39nB448_p0428b10氏超蓮面目何在?」師云:「拶得盲人眼自開。」進云:「了了J39nB448_p0428b11常知無別物,凡名聖號等浮漚。」師云:「炤顧腳下。」乃云:J39nB448_p0428b12「浪走江湖,腳跟下三十未為多;穩坐家堂,頂門上一J39nB448_p0428b13錐已是遲。若是明眼衲僧,直須翻轉面皮,方能克紹J39nB448_p0428b14綱宗,擔荷箇事。且箇事又如何擔荷?」揮拂子,云:「信手J39nB448_p0428b15拈,信手舞,大坐當軒孰敢睹?或示太阿鋒,或震塗毒J39nB448_p0428b16鼓,直得歷代老古錐,箇箇相看把舌吐,作驢作馬掣J39nB448_p0428b17風顛,現神現鬼相觸忤,撞頭磕額沒處藏,罪犯彌天J39nB448_p0428b18不可數。不可數,休莽鹵,打破生死關,無佛亦無祖。生J39nB448_p0428b19死關既已打破,且道已往姜氏即今居何方所?」遂合J39nB448_p0428b20掌,云:「頓超上品蓮,了脫幽冥苦。」
小參
J39nB448_p0428b22解制,何君佐居士同室沈氏請小參。「一期忉忉怛怛,J39nB448_p0428b23且喜眉毛還在,未免因齋慶讚,唱箇好春光,為諸人J39nB448_p0428b24助行。好春光,好春光,箇箇娘生面目彰,踢翻虀甕沖J39nB448_p0428b25霄去,擺脫鉤錐步大方。莫靠壁,休倚墻,大丈夫兒貴J39nB448_p0428b26自強,若使艸鞋不具眼,腳頭常被石頭傷。石頭傷,血J39nB448_p0428b27染青山路轉長,盡道天涯無日到,誰知回首是家鄉?J39nB448_p0428b28咄!咄!咄!者獃郎,莫漫狂,三十年前太古話,如今說出J39nB448_p0428b29不成腔,任他不采聽,自說也何妨?」遂噯呀一聲,云:「笑J39nB448_p0428b30斷老婆腸。」
J39nB448_p0428c01除夕,小參。召大眾,云:「一年三百六十日,與麼磨裙擦J39nB448_p0428c02褲,虛度時光了也。今宵卻值臘月三十夜,古人喻為J39nB448_p0428c03生死到頭,最是急切底時節。秪如當人腳跟下一著J39nB448_p0428c04子,合作麼生理會?山僧雖則無事生事,也要大家委J39nB448_p0428c05悉。倘有直下知歸者,不妨如龍得水、似虎逢山,展托J39nB448_p0428c06當機牙爪,施呈本有風光;其或未然,更為諸人打葛J39nB448_p0428c07藤去也。」驀卓拄杖,云:「年去年來春復冬,衲僧巴鼻若J39nB448_p0428c08為通?瞿曇有口難宣說,摩詰無言謾指蹤。歷劫不磨J39nB448_p0428c09非向背,當陽突出絕施功,等閒脫體能擔荷,任運堂J39nB448_p0428c10堂不借中。」
J39nB448_p0428c11福嚴退院,小參。師呈拄杖云:「盡大地是先師面目,全J39nB448_p0428c12憑者箇為流通;遍剎塵是山僧行履,了無住著可追J39nB448_p0428c13攀。雖然,要見山僧行履,須明先師面目;既明先師面J39nB448_p0428c14目,且道山僧行履在甚麼處?」遂起身云:「多謝勸農橋J39nB448_p0428c15上雨,殷勤送我出松關。」拽杖便行。
示眾
J39nB448_p0428c17封鍋,示眾。「觀上座今晚封鍋不為別事,秪為諸兄弟J39nB448_p0428c18擔囊挈缽、不憚身力,到資福者裏箇箇業為參禪學J39nB448_p0428c19道、了脫生死。然既為此大事急切而來,豈可辜負?故J39nB448_p0428c20時就此急切處置一問:秪如禪作麼生參?道作麼生J39nB448_p0428c21學?生死作麼生了?若向者裏著著有出身之路,答得J39nB448_p0428c22一語相契,不妨依舊開鍋,大家同住;若答不得,便請J39nB448_p0428c23撿點行囊,各各散去,資福無閑飯與汝喫,虛度光陰,J39nB448_p0428c24打鬨過日。蓋緣邇來祖道衰微、禪風澹薄,主席者多J39nB448_p0428c25懈怠之士、行腳者少正因衲子,遂使參禪學道、了脫J39nB448_p0428c26生死一段大事因緣卻成虛設,良可痛也。故觀上座J39nB448_p0428c27今晚捋下面皮,不避嫌謗,逆行此令,弗圖門庭繁盛,J39nB448_p0428c28只貴正眼流通。」乃顧左右,云:「出來道道看。」一僧云:「文J39nB448_p0428c29不加點。」師云:「汝者一語在禪上著?道上著?生死上著?」J39nB448_p0428c30僧云:「和尚撿點看。」師云:「情知你未諳落處,慣弄虛頭。」J39nB448_p0429a01僧無語,師復高聲云:「還有麼?」良久,眾無出,師云:「不意J39nB448_p0429a02命蹇。若是與麼,拼身捨命入艸求人,覓箇同伴也不J39nB448_p0429a03可得。」遂打翻香几,歸方丈。
J39nB448_p0429a04示眾。舉:「世尊於涅槃會上以手摩胸,告眾曰:『汝等善J39nB448_p0429a05觀吾紫磨金色之身,瞻仰取足,勿令後悔。若謂吾滅J39nB448_p0429a06度,非吾弟子;若謂吾不滅度,亦非吾弟子。』時百萬億J39nB448_p0429a07眾悉皆契悟。」師云:「世尊末後賣俏,如將魚目當明珠;J39nB448_p0429a08百萬億眾悉皆契悟,也是烏龜撞壁。且道山僧如是J39nB448_p0429a09批判,意在甚處?貪觀天上月,失卻手中橈。」
J39nB448_p0429a10示眾。「門前犬子吠,畢竟有人來,且道是什麼人聻?」眾J39nB448_p0429a11無對。師良久,云:「原是舊相識,不用別疑猜。」
J39nB448_p0429a12示眾。舉:「世尊因長爪梵志索論義,預約曰:『我義若墮,J39nB448_p0429a13當斬首以謝。』世尊曰:『汝義以何為宗?』志曰:『我以一切J39nB448_p0429a14不受為宗。』世尊曰:『是見受否?』志拂袖而去,行至中途J39nB448_p0429a15有省,乃歎曰:『我義兩處負墮,是見若受,負門處麤;是J39nB448_p0429a16見不受,負門處細。一切人天二乘不知我義墮處,惟J39nB448_p0429a17有世尊諸大菩薩知我義墮。』回至世尊前曰:『我義兩J39nB448_p0429a18處負墮,故當斬首以謝。』世尊曰:『我法中無如是事,汝J39nB448_p0429a19當回心向道。』於是同五百徒眾一時投佛出家,證阿J39nB448_p0429a20羅漢。」師云:「外道最初拂袖便行,卻具衲僧作略,可惜J39nB448_p0429a21中途捩轉面皮,又向世尊腳跟下納敗,正似靈龜拽J39nB448_p0429a22尾,自取喪身之兆。」
J39nB448_p0429a23示眾。舉:「世尊因文殊至諸佛集處,值諸佛各還本處,J39nB448_p0429a24惟有一女子近於佛坐而入三昧。文殊乃白佛:『云何J39nB448_p0429a25此女得近佛坐而我不得?』佛告文殊:『汝但覺此女,令J39nB448_p0429a26從三昧起,汝自問之。』文殊繞女子三匝,鳴指一下,乃J39nB448_p0429a27托至梵天,盡其神力而不能出。世尊曰:『假使百千文J39nB448_p0429a28殊,亦出此女子定不得。下方過四十二恒河沙國土,J39nB448_p0429a29有罔明菩薩能出此女子定。』須臾,罔明大士從地湧J39nB448_p0429a30出,作禮世尊。世尊敕罔明出,罔明卻至女子前鳴指J39nB448_p0429b01一下,女子於是從定而出。」師云:「當時靈山會上者婆J39nB448_p0429b02娘亦甚奇怪,惜乎文殊不識來機,青天白日被他迷J39nB448_p0429b03惑,而下方罔明雖則撥轉關捩,未免泥裏傷刺。若是J39nB448_p0429b04山僧,總不管他入定、出定,便與他驀面推倒,非惟勦J39nB448_p0429b05除窠臼,要使瞿曇慚惶無地。」
J39nB448_p0429b06示眾。舉:「孚上座因鼓山赴大王請,雪峰門送,回至法J39nB448_p0429b07堂,乃曰:『一隻聖箭直射九重城裏去也。』孚曰:『是伊未J39nB448_p0429b08在。』峰曰:『渠是徹底人。』孚曰:『若不信,待某甲去勘過。』遂J39nB448_p0429b09趁至中路,便問:『師兄向甚麼處去?』山曰:『九重城裏去。』J39nB448_p0429b10孚曰:『忽遇三軍圍繞時如何?』山曰:『他家自有通霄路。』J39nB448_p0429b11孚曰:『恁麼則離宮失殿去也。』山曰:『何處不稱尊?』孚拂J39nB448_p0429b12袖便回。峰問:『如何?』孚曰:『好隻聖箭,中路折卻了也。』遂J39nB448_p0429b13舉前話,峰乃曰:『奴渠語在。』孚曰:『者老凍膿卻有鄉情J39nB448_p0429b14在。』」師云:「雪峰稱賞鼓山不必論量,只如孚上座恁麼J39nB448_p0429b15問、鼓山恁麼答,且道什麼處是他聖箭折處?向者裏J39nB448_p0429b16見得倜儻分明,便知孚上座只具殺人刀,且無活人J39nB448_p0429b17劍。鼓山雖明出身路,未解截波瀾,點檢則二俱擔板,J39nB448_p0429b18各見一邊,若到山僧門下,合喫手中拄杖。何故?賞罰J39nB448_p0429b19並行。」
J39nB448_p0429b20示眾。舉:「香嚴上樹,若論此事,如人上樹,口啣樹枝、腳J39nB448_p0429b21不踏枝、手不攀枝,樹下忽有人問:『如何是祖師西來J39nB448_p0429b22意?』不對他,又違他所問;若對他,又喪身失命。當恁麼J39nB448_p0429b23時作麼生即得?時有虎頭招上座出眾,云:『樹上即不J39nB448_p0429b24問,未上樹時請和尚道。』香乃呵呵大笑。」師云:「嶮似懸J39nB448_p0429b25崖,毒如砒礵,纔沾唇吻,便爾喪身。然香嚴老漢固是J39nB448_p0429b26施機善巧,為什麼被虎頭一問,只得呵呵大笑?還委J39nB448_p0429b27悉麼?絲綸擲在煙波裏,只為金鱗釣得歸。」
J39nB448_p0429b28示眾。舉:「五祖演禪師,三佛侍祖於一亭上夜話,及歸,J39nB448_p0429b29燈已滅,祖於暗中曰:『各人下一轉語。』佛鑑曰:『彩鳳舞J39nB448_p0429b30丹霄。』佛眼曰:『銕蛇橫古路。』佛果曰:『看腳下。』祖曰:『滅吾J39nB448_p0429c01宗者克勤耳。』」師云:「五祖老漢不妨是箇當路大蟲,隨J39nB448_p0429c02處張牙距爪,爭奈三子頭角崢嶸,各展風規,然就中J39nB448_p0429c03卻被箇返擲獅子攔腳一咬,直至如今未得轉身。」
J39nB448_p0429c04示眾。師云:「眾兄弟須向本參上親見一番,出言吐氣,J39nB448_p0429c05自然如龍得水、似虎逢山,不須風雷遍地波瀾,山僧J39nB448_p0429c06為諸人發揮去也。」遂以拄杖旋風打散。
J39nB448_p0429c07結制,示眾。師云:「寶劍揮空,誑謔青天;銕蛇攔路,平地J39nB448_p0429c08賺人。更欲曲垂巧喻,何異淨眼添沙?山僧卻不與麼。」J39nB448_p0429c09舉拄杖,云:「秪將者箇當陽直指,汝等諸人敢道不見?」J39nB448_p0429c10復卓拄杖,云:「圓通大震,忽爾喧騰,汝等諸人敢道不J39nB448_p0429c11聞?見聞既爾分明,者箇元非他物。所謂:『處處真,處處J39nB448_p0429c12真,塵塵盡是本來人,真實說時聲不見,正體堂堂沒J39nB448_p0429c13卻身。』既是真實說,為甚麼聲不見?既是正體堂堂,為J39nB448_p0429c14甚麼沒卻身?若向者裏會得,未入爐鞴早已翻身,未J39nB448_p0429c15動鉗錘亦自光輝;其或未然,山僧且歸方丈,待汝等J39nB448_p0429c16來通箇消息。」
