衡山和尚語錄序
J39nB438_p0247a02昔達磨西來,不立文字,直指人心,見性成佛。後六祖J39nB438_p0247a03曰:「達磨道箇直指,早是曲了也。何以故?要知不立二J39nB438_p0247a04字,亦是文字。且達磨傳法偈四句,豈非文字乎?其不J39nB438_p0247a05尚文字者,恐人滯指而迷月也。」又太原孚因雪峰道:J39nB438_p0247a06「一隻聖箭,直射九重城裏去也。」遂趁至中路,勘神晏J39nB438_p0247a07國師,回謂雪峰曰:「好隻聖箭,中路折卻了也。」遂舉前J39nB438_p0247a08話,峰曰:「奴渠語在。」由此觀之,文字語言,其可無乎?
J39nB438_p0247a09衡山和尚,聚雲之孫,治平之子。出住吉祥,龍象雲集。J39nB438_p0247a10其機鋒似金刀破竹,其才辯若珠子走盤。其上堂、小J39nB438_p0247a11參、法語,皆從胸襟流出,蓋天蓋地,真不愧為大慧之J39nB438_p0247a12兒孫也。夫聚雲、治平諸大老,重振大慧之道於西蜀,J39nB438_p0247a13而衡山、三山諸和尚又能繼志述事。俾雙徑禪燈,旦J39nB438_p0247a14復旦兮,則凡我濟北後裔,皆當共慶同宗之盛也。茲J39nB438_p0247a15普陀別菴和尚以衡山令伯語錄壽諸棗梨,而几幻J39nB438_p0247a16大師索序於予。予不自揣,援筆作此。何異捧土培泰J39nB438_p0247a17山、掬水沃東海哉?

慶雲炳禪師語錄序
J39nB438_p0247a22臨濟之道騰越而起,類皆岷蜀之人。五祖昭覺,其最J39nB438_p0247a23著者。逮有明神宗朝,▆雲老人以間世英偉承徑山J39nB438_p0247a24之後,大乃父乃祖之庭于桐山王壘,光燄赫奕,諸方J39nB438_p0247a25傾向,以為臨濟再興。故出其門者,廣大精微,凌轢前J39nB438_p0247a26古,直與南匾頭、寶峰文輩並驅中原,𱮕歟盛哉!慶忠J39nB438_p0247a27禪師居其一也。忠得法龍象二十三人,三座則為慶J39nB438_p0247a28雲炳禪師。按炳狀,師少即見先聚雲于寶峰,初入侍J39nB438_p0247a29寮,不幾于度水擎茶間已明己躬下事。雲歿後,始親J39nB438_p0247a30忠于枳江,久之克第一座。當是時也,巴蜀禪叢肇啟,J39nB438_p0247b01遐邇英俊雲委川輪,師以玅齡首眾,舉揚從上巴鼻。J39nB438_p0247b02明清以來,馳聲走譽,弘揚徑山、聚雲之道者,皆自痛J39nB438_p0247b03拳辣手出焉。且師之碩德行業冰清玉潤,去住翛然,J39nB438_p0247b04臨死生之際獲大無畏,如獅子王遊戲自在,非近世J39nB438_p0247b05楊、鄭所企及者,不佞仰之深、慕之久矣。師凡兩坐道J39nB438_p0247b06場,晚興《慶雲語錄》一卷,皆膾炙叢林,服膺緇素。顧其J39nB438_p0247b07言雖不多,要皆到地本艸,如人食少金剛,自當穿皮J39nB438_p0247b08而出,非過量人難為湊泊者。普陀別菴禪師,師之猶J39nB438_p0247b09子也。當童稚時,撫其臂曰:「異時弘我徑山之道者,舍J39nB438_p0247b10子而誰?」師滅去十餘年,別公果法道大震東南,抑見J39nB438_p0247b11師之慧鑑不爽矣。今其三世孫几幻禪人持稿南來,J39nB438_p0247b12謀予不佞弁言簡端,又以別公之介紹請陳始末,乃J39nB438_p0247b13退而為之書。

J39nB438_p0247c02 J39nB438_p0247c03順治壬辰七月望日,夔州府石砫祇園檀越蘇茂宇J39nB438_p0247c04暨眾善信請師住吉祥禪寺,入院。
J39nB438_p0247c05三門。「如來倒駕逆來,菩薩順行而去。雖然來去不J39nB438_p0247c06同,縱橫上下無忌。還識路頭麼?十方薄伽梵,一路涅J39nB438_p0247c07槃門。」卓拄杖便入。
J39nB438_p0247c08伽藍。「紅髮白牙,鐵臉爛額,應現圓通,出沒莫測。箇J39nB438_p0247c09箇恒衛吉祥,只教眉毛出血,如斯依教奉行,不負山J39nB438_p0247c10僧饒舌。珍重!珍重!」
J39nB438_p0247c11方丈。「不喚作方丈,玄要難分;喚作方丈,照用齊立。J39nB438_p0247c12有時驅耕夫之牛,奪饑人之食,末後轉身異類行,縱J39nB438_p0247c13橫百寸是十尺。」喝一喝,云:「料揀齊施賓主全,百億金J39nB438_p0247c14毛出隊躑。」即日迎佛陞座,請上堂。師拈香祝J39nB438_p0247c15聖畢,次拈云:「此瓣香,荊棘叢中常快活,干戈林裏恒J39nB438_p0247c16吉祥。即今對人天眾前信手拈來,供養傳臨濟正宗J39nB438_p0247c17第二十六世現住慶忠堂上上鐵下壁本師老和尚,J39nB438_p0247c18用酬法乳之恩。」斂衣就座。維那白槌,云:「法筵龍象眾,J39nB438_p0247c19當觀第一義。」師舉:「趙州云:『有時將丈六金身作一莖J39nB438_p0247c20草、有時將一莖草作丈六金身,建立也在我、掃蕩也J39nB438_p0247c21在我。』今日山僧則不恁麼,有時將三世諸佛向吉祥J39nB438_p0247c22寶殿裏安立、有時將吉祥寶殿向三世諸佛眉毛上J39nB438_p0247c23安立,收來也在我、放去也在我。恁麼告報,且道:與趙J39nB438_p0247c24州是同?是別?還見麼?坐斷兩頭無別路,一切時中最J39nB438_p0247c25吉祥。」維那再白槌,云:「諦觀法王法,法王法如是。」師下J39nB438_p0247c26座。
J39nB438_p0247c27冉總戎利幽請上堂。僧問:「此日拈花,是錢索?是井索?」J39nB438_p0247c28師云:「野人恒面壁。」進云:「五福宏開時如何?」師云:「三星J39nB438_p0247c29拱吉祥。」乃云:「六三六四,六五吉祥,大震法鼓,黃梅三J39nB438_p0247c30擊,祖意旛花,羅列飛舞。今日迺冉公大護法建普利J39nB438_p0248a01道場,特請山僧陞座,舉揚般若。若論般若,無說、無聞,J39nB438_p0248a02向何處開口?只聽得有一尊宿在山僧拄杖頭上道:J39nB438_p0248a03『大乘井索,小乘錢索。有漏笊籬,無漏木杓。撞著臨濟、J39nB438_p0248a04德山,無故入門便棒便喝。差甚麼?使者雲行,功曹傳J39nB438_p0248a05奏,大地草木咸放光明,天龍鬼神歡喜信受。』」卓拄杖J39nB438_p0248a06云:「知麼?野人恒面壁,三星拱吉祥。」
J39nB438_p0248a07佛誕日,檀信啟華嚴會,請上堂。「昔年今日四月八,今J39nB438_p0248a08日昔年四月八,東西南北露全身,四維上下天花撒,J39nB438_p0248a09吉祥院裏事不同,僧俗乘時轉妙法。若以白紙黑字J39nB438_p0248a10為法,猶是止啼黃蘗;若以數墨等行為轉,亦是門外J39nB438_p0248a11之遶。即今合作麼生?」又久,云:「天上天下,惟吾獨尊。」
J39nB438_p0248a12午日,上堂。「菖蒲劍,艾葉虎,海底紅輪日當午,吉祥漏J39nB438_p0248a13逗者封皮,聲聲震動龍舟鼓。」喝一喝,云:「還聞麼?」
J39nB438_p0248a14順治丙申九月朔日,總戎袁公大護法暨闔營將士J39nB438_p0248a15請住忠州福城山慶雲禪寺。
J39nB438_p0248a16上堂。豎拄杖,云:「天得一以清。」卓拄杖,云:「地得一以寧。」J39nB438_p0248a17橫擔拄杖,云:「人得一以靈。且道:衲僧得一時又作麼J39nB438_p0248a18生?建法幢,立宗旨,人天號令。南山雲,北山雨,虎嘯風J39nB438_p0248a19生。」擲拄杖,連喝三喝,云:「十方聚會學無為,選佛場開J39nB438_p0248a20歸及第。」
J39nB438_p0248a21檀姓利幽請上堂。「生是死之生,死是生之死,兩路坦J39nB438_p0248a22然平,無彼亦無此。會麼?若也未會,再與重下註腳。」以J39nB438_p0248a23拂子打○相,云:「此是佛體性三昧,世界也在此中、眾J39nB438_p0248a24生也在此中,過去、現在、未來諸佛、諸祖、十聖、三賢也J39nB438_p0248a25在此中,乃至六道遷徙、四生升降、抱恨含冤、苦樂榮J39nB438_p0248a26辱、悔罪造業、改過從新俱在此中。所以世尊遣阿難J39nB438_p0248a27尊者往地獄問提婆達多云:『汝在此中樂否?』提婆云:J39nB438_p0248a28『如三禪天樂。』者云:『汝還求出否?』提婆云:『待世尊入地J39nB438_p0248a29獄,我纔出地獄。』者云:『世尊豈有入地獄分?』提婆云:『世J39nB438_p0248a30尊既無入地獄分,我豈有出地獄分?』汝等若在者裏J39nB438_p0248b01會得,便向升沉遷徙處識取本地風光。且道:如何是J39nB438_p0248b02本地風光?」復以拂子畫[十○]相,云:「處處總成華藏界,堂J39nB438_p0248b03堂無處不毘盧。」
J39nB438_p0248b04說戒,上堂。舉拄杖,云:「釋迦老子來也,在山僧拄杖頭J39nB438_p0248b05上道:『不用安排,切莫造作。安排造作,無繩自縛。不安J39nB438_p0248b06排、不造作,善財彈指登樓閣,秘魔放下手中叉,普化J39nB438_p0248b07入市搖鈴鐸。』諸仁者!于斯薦得,百千法門同歸方寸,J39nB438_p0248b08河沙妙德總在心源,一切戒、定、慧門悉皆具足,不離J39nB438_p0248b09汝心;如或未然,鞭影日將調意馬,溪光時把按心牛。」J39nB438_p0248b10卓一卓。
J39nB438_p0248b11慶忠老和尚設忌,上堂。「拄杖突出虛空,踢著通身粉J39nB438_p0248b12碎。三炮四喝料揀,玄要賓主明歷。此是老和尚家醜,J39nB438_p0248b13當陽露出端的。作麼是露出底句?咄!」

相,云:「參!」聚雲三目法叔老和尚訃音至,上堂。「同住聚雲時,曾J39nB438_p0248b17霑猶子愛,離亂各一方,面目無隔礙,化緣事已周,分J39nB438_p0248b18身遍法界。大眾!還知者老漢落處麼?遇寒湖中向火,J39nB438_p0248b19逢熱火裏乘涼,恁麼本分自由,好與頂門揭蓋。」復云:J39nB438_p0248b20「蒼天!蒼天!」
J39nB438_p0248b21上堂。「扇子𨁝跳上三十三天,獅子窟中無異獸。觸著J39nB438_p0248b22帝釋鼻孔,象王行處絕派蹤。東海鯉魚打一棒,萬里J39nB438_p0248b23橫屍。雨似盆傾,四洲普潤。大眾!會麼?福城批判異諸J39nB438_p0248b24方,大用全提只者是。」
小參
J39nB438_p0248b26小參。「人天百萬,驀然拈花,此是瞿曇老漢上頭關;喚J39nB438_p0248b27作竹篦則觸、不喚作竹篦則背,此是徑山老漢上頭J39nB438_p0248b28關;一棒一條痕、一摑一掌血,此是慶忠老漢上頭關;J39nB438_p0248b29逢人便拜、遇佛便打,此是福城長老上頭關。若在者J39nB438_p0248b30裏一一會得,縱然一夜風吹去,只在蘆花淺水邊;如J39nB438_p0248c01或未然,太湖三萬六千頃,月在波心說向誰?」
J39nB438_p0248c02小參。舉:「趙州和尚云:『老僧十二時中,除粥飯二時是J39nB438_p0248c03雜用心處。』此是古人為敵生死底工夫,今人又當何J39nB438_p0248c04如?若要擔荷佛祖門庭,須要箇直實決定志氣,千磨J39nB438_p0248c05萬鍊,百棒打不回頭底漢子始得。若是半疑半信、半J39nB438_p0248c06進半退底,終是半途而廢,安能在生死海中倒駕慈J39nB438_p0248c07航耶?久立,眾慈各宜努力。」
J39nB438_p0248c08總戎袁寶善居士請小參。舉:「僧問趙州:『如何是祖師J39nB438_p0248c09西來意?』州云:『庭前柏樹子。』僧云:『和尚莫將境示人。』州J39nB438_p0248c10云:『我不將境示人。』僧云:『如何是祖師西來意?』州云:『庭J39nB438_p0248c11前柏樹子。』者箇公案要累及寶善居士在。」
示眾
J39nB438_p0248c13午日,示眾。「石輥嚼破虛空,冤屈崑崙叫苦,痛殺海上J39nB438_p0248c14王郎,到處敲鑼動鼓。」喝一喝,云:「家家蒲▆倚天寒,報J39nB438_p0248c15到今朝是端午。」
J39nB438_p0248c16示眾。「生從何處來?死向何處去?知得來去處,方名學J39nB438_p0248c17道人。」連喝四喝,云:「會得老僧者四喝,參學事畢。如或J39nB438_p0248c18未然,但看受生死底是誰?不受生死底是誰?知得來J39nB438_p0248c19去處底是誰?不知來去處底是誰?看來看去,看▆理J39nB438_p0248c20會不得處,如一團火頓在胸中,久久提究到豁然貫J39nB438_p0248c21通處,方知『生死』二字決定與自己不相干涉。」
J39nB438_p0248c22示眾。「今時學道人多是腳跟不穩、立志不堅,於世事J39nB438_p0248c23上不如意,則火急要參禪、要修行;忽然世事稍有如J39nB438_p0248c24意,則不參禪、不修行矣。此何以故?無決定信故也。如J39nB438_p0248c25是學道,欲與佛祖把手共行,無有是理。」
J39nB438_p0248c26示眾。「世尊在靈山會上拈花示眾,惟迦葉頭陀破顏J39nB438_p0248c27微笑。且道:迦葉見箇甚麼道理便笑?者裏下得一語J39nB438_p0248c28恰當,方許來入老僧之室。」
J39nB438_p0248c29示眾。「老僧未讀詩書,出言莽鹵待人,唯一味鐵釘飯、J39nB438_p0248c30木札羹,誰肯下口咬嚼?世人都是愛逞神機,以資談J39nB438_p0249a01柄,無怪方木圓竅兩不相當矣。即世尊為一大事因J39nB438_p0249a02緣出世,間有言下相應者,盡是途中受用。當機證悟,J39nB438_p0249a03唯得迦葉一人而已。阿難將佛四十九年說底記持,J39nB438_p0249a04如瓶貯水,毫無滲漏。末後又疑,問迦葉:『世尊付金襴J39nB438_p0249a05袈裟外,另傳箇甚麼?』迦葉答曰:『倒卻門前剎竿著。』阿J39nB438_p0249a06難得迦葉者一轉語,始入安樂法門。大眾!倘具一隻J39nB438_p0249a07超方眼,肯越常流,必不空過此生根器。珍重!」
J39nB438_p0249a08示眾。「心地隨時說,菩提果自成。事理俱無礙,當生即J39nB438_p0249a09不生。可怪汾陽李上座,十二時中向佛頭上著糞。」
J39nB438_p0249a10示眾。「釋迦未曾出世、達磨未曾西來、老僧未曾卓錫J39nB438_p0249a11此山時,人人頂門上輝大寶光、箇箇腳跟下縱橫十J39nB438_p0249a12字,無有欠少、無有休歇。奈何日用而不知,故君子之J39nB438_p0249a13道鮮矣。何以見得?人道中若無此光,聞呼即應、見物J39nB438_p0249a14便知,揚眉瞬目、折旋俯仰、迎賓待客、穿衣喫飯者是J39nB438_p0249a15誰?天道中若無此光,受天福樂、變化莊嚴、視東忘西、J39nB438_p0249a16瞬目不捨、修九次第定者是誰?地獄道中若無此光,J39nB438_p0249a17洋銅灌口、熱鐵沸心、刀山上行、劍樹上走,忍痛受苦J39nB438_p0249a18者是誰?餓鬼道中若無此光,鍼煙焰火長夜燒然、▆J39nB438_p0249a19呼求食恒受飢渴者是誰?畜生道中若無此光,披毛J39nB438_p0249a20戴角、銜鐵負鞍、喫草飲水、飛躍啼嗥者是誰?修羅▆J39nB438_p0249a21中若無此光,三頭六臂、嗔焰然眉,或現大身甕▆▆J39nB438_p0249a22彌、或現小身潛於藕孔者是誰?緣覺道中若無此光,J39nB438_p0249a23知苦斷集、慕滅修道、求聖法者是誰?聲聞道中若無J39nB438_p0249a24此光,坐無為床、受寂滅樂、神通變化、飛騰隱顯者是J39nB438_p0249a25誰?菩薩道中若無此光,勤修六度、萬行莊嚴、無疲勞J39nB438_p0249a26厭怠者是誰?諸佛若無此光,成等正覺、廣度眾生、永J39nB438_p0249a27無休息者是誰?山河大地、草木叢林,若無此光,春生J39nB438_p0249a28夏長秋收冬藏者是誰?故知者道光明,物物上彰、法J39nB438_p0249a29法上顯,本自具足、本自圓成。雖然無處不現、無不承J39nB438_p0249a30此恩力,只因埋在五陰坑中、拋在無事甲裏,不知參J39nB438_p0249b01求、不知推究,故勞釋迦出世、達磨西來,作箇教主,欲J39nB438_p0249b02人人向自己腳跟下識取。者道光明,輝天鑑地,耀古J39nB438_p0249b03騰今,不但釋迦、達磨出來如是,即歷代祖師出來也J39nB438_p0249b04只如是。昔西天國王問波羅提尊者曰:『我欲作佛,不J39nB438_p0249b05知何者是佛?』尊者曰:『見性是佛。』王曰:『師見性否?』尊者J39nB438_p0249b06曰:『我見佛性。』王曰:『性在何處?』尊者曰:『性在作用。』王曰:J39nB438_p0249b07『是何作用?我今不見。』尊者曰:『今現作用,王自不見。』王J39nB438_p0249b08曰:『於我有否?』尊者曰:『王若作用,無有不是;王若不用,J39nB438_p0249b09體亦難見。』王曰:『若當用時,幾處出現?』尊者曰:『若出現J39nB438_p0249b10時,當有其八。』王曰:『八處佛性,當為我說。』尊者曰:『在胎J39nB438_p0249b11為身、處世名人、在眼曰見、在耳曰聞、在鼻辨香、在舌J39nB438_p0249b12談論、在手執捉、在足運奔,遍現俱該法界,收攝在一J39nB438_p0249b13微塵。識者知是佛性,不識喚作精魂。』王聞是言,心即J39nB438_p0249b14開悟。此是波羅提尊者令西天國王向一切處識取J39nB438_p0249b15者道光明之樣子也。裴相國入寺,見壁間畫像,問院J39nB438_p0249b16主云:『壁間是甚麼?』主云:『高僧真儀。』相國云:『形儀可觀,J39nB438_p0249b17高僧何在?』主無語。相國云:『者裏有高僧麼?』時黃蘗在J39nB438_p0249b18眾,院主云:『有一上座頗似高僧。』相國遂舉前話,蘗云:J39nB438_p0249b19『請問來。』相國云:『形儀可觀,高僧今在甚麼處?』蘗召裴J39nB438_p0249b20休,休應諾,蘗云:『在甚麼處?』裴公於言下領旨。此是東J39nB438_p0249b21上祖師令裴相國向語言色相上識取者道光明之J39nB438_p0249b22樣子也。僧問六祖:『如何是佛?』祖云:『我欲說,恐汝不信。』J39nB438_p0249b23僧云:『和尚誠言,安敢不信?』祖云:『即汝便是。』僧問鹽官:J39nB438_p0249b24『如何是本身盧舍那?』官云:『與老僧過淨瓶來。』僧將淨J39nB438_p0249b25瓶至,官云:『卻安舊處著。』僧送還舊處,復來詰問,官云:J39nB438_p0249b26『古佛過去久矣。』老僧引古證今,者些葛藤都是與混J39nB438_p0249b27沌畫眉、虛空安柄。還知者道光明麼?那吒眼裏虛空J39nB438_p0249b28碎,鐵鑄波斯笑海潮。參!」
J39nB438_p0249b29示眾。「二時課誦乃漸修之學,猶人日用飲食,不可無J39nB438_p0249b30也。如參禪以提話頭為務,或參父母未生前、或參如J39nB438_p0249c01何是本來面目、或參念佛是誰,是必二六時中勤參J39nB438_p0249c02不歇,方纔契悟自心,豈不是一乘圓頓妙法門,見性J39nB438_p0249c03成佛真秘典?如念佛以一心不亂,專持名號為務,行J39nB438_p0249c04人單以一生長齋,不飲酒茹葷,廣行布施,禮拜供養,J39nB438_p0249c05親善知識,受持經典,晝夜六時勤切念佛,始終如一,J39nB438_p0249c06則臨命終時,觀音、彌陀親垂接引,豈不是臨終西方J39nB438_p0249c07境,分明在目前也?今有人披張禪師封皮,酒葷不斷,J39nB438_p0249c08自誤誤人,其過非小。不見:永明壽禪師四料揀云:『有J39nB438_p0249c09禪無淨土,十人九錯路,陰境若現前,瞥爾隨他去。』謂J39nB438_p0249c10只明禪理,不習禪定、不修六度淨業,一生狂亂隨流,J39nB438_p0249c11臨終陰境現前,輪迴六道者是也。二曰:『無禪有淨土,J39nB438_p0249c12萬修萬人去,但得見彌陀,何愁不開悟?』謂見地不明,J39nB438_p0249c13一生只修淨業念佛,發願往生,廣修萬行,臨終仗彌J39nB438_p0249c14陀願力攝受,往生西方,決定無疑。三曰:『有禪有淨土,J39nB438_p0249c15猶如戴角虎,現前為人師,當來作佛祖。』謂深達佛理,J39nB438_p0249c16兼修淨業,隨其根性,化人念佛,為人天師,往生上品。J39nB438_p0249c17四曰:『無禪無淨土,鐵床並銅柱,萬劫與千生,沒箇人J39nB438_p0249c18依怙。』謂不明佛理、不修淨業、不願往生,甘受沉淪,何J39nB438_p0249c19由出離苦海?諸仁者!欲超生死證菩提,宜擇善行之J39nB438_p0249c20速登上品。正恁麼時,腰纏十萬貫,騎鶴上楊州,好不J39nB438_p0249c21快活。」

J39nB438_p0249c23示扆恒上座。「者箇道理,亙古亙今,恒常不變,也不著J39nB438_p0249c24忘懷、也不著念慮,但自時時參究、刻刻提撕,妄念起J39nB438_p0249c25時亦不得止遏,止動歸止,止更彌動,如何敵得生死?J39nB438_p0249c26只就動止處看箇話頭,便是釋迦老子、達磨大師出J39nB438_p0249c27來多方為人,只是者箇;歷代祖師順機接引,也只是J39nB438_p0249c28者箇;一問一答、賓主交參,也只是者箇;舉起茶盃、放J39nB438_p0249c29下匙筯,也只是者箇。老僧恁麼舉似、恁麼註解,此中J39nB438_p0249c30還敵得生死也無?若謂敵不得生死,總是未會者箇J39nB438_p0250a01落點處。既是未會者箇落點處,須行也參者箇、坐也J39nB438_p0250a02參者箇、喜怒哀樂時也參者箇、應用酬酢時也參者J39nB438_p0250a03箇,參來參去,參到沒滋味、沒撈摸處,如秋月懸空,毫J39nB438_p0250a04無雲彩,心頭熱悶悶地,恰如一盤火相似,便是參究J39nB438_p0250a05得力處,不可放捨,忽爾洗面摸著鼻孔、經行踢著指J39nB438_p0250a06頭,自然心花發明,照十方剎,一微塵裏轉大法輪。且J39nB438_p0250a07道:法輪作麼生轉?請過別峰頭上與汝相見。」

J39nB438_p0250a12示明德居士。「昔二祖神光為一代曠達之士,博覽群J39nB438_p0250a13書,善談玄理,每自嘆曰:『孔老之教,禮術風規;莊易之J39nB438_p0250a14談,未盡妙理。』乃往少林,晨夕參請。達磨常端坐面壁,J39nB438_p0250a15莫聞誨示。光自思惟:『昔人求道,敲骨取髓、刺血濟飢、J39nB438_p0250a16布髮掩泥、投崖飼虎。古尚若此,我又何人?』是夜,天雨J39nB438_p0250a17大雪,光堅立不動。遲明,積雪過膝,磨憫而問曰:『汝久J39nB438_p0250a18立雪中,欲求何事?』光悲淚曰:『惟願和尚慈悲,開甘露J39nB438_p0250a19門,普濟群品。』磨曰:『諸佛無上妙道,歷劫精勤,難行能J39nB438_p0250a20行,非忍而忍。豈以小志、小德,輕心、慢心?欲冀真乘,必J39nB438_p0250a21須勤苦。』光聞誨勵,遂自斷臂求之。磨再論曰:『外息諸J39nB438_p0250a22緣,內心無喘,心如墻壁,可以入道。』末後為親承入室J39nB438_p0250a23之真子。欲學此道,當體此規儀,非造次者可登也。」

J39nB438_p0250a27一僧進方丈,師云:「千佛在甚麼處?」僧進前磨墨。師云:J39nB438_p0250a28「我問汝,千佛在甚麼處?」僧又磨墨。師云:「去!」
J39nB438_p0250a29一僧侍師行次,師指黑、白二犬,云:「者不是曹洞宗旨。」J39nB438_p0250a30僧云:「那箇是正位?」師云:「雞向五更啼。」

寄映曹勤舊
J39nB438_p0251b09龐居士云:「有男不婚,有女不嫁,大家團圞頭,共說無J39nB438_p0251b10生話。」後元豐間,有箇無為居士曾參宗門,大有所得,J39nB438_p0251b11和龐公偈曰:「男大須婚,女大須嫁,討甚閒工夫,更說J39nB438_p0251b12無生話?」者兩箇俗士將十方常住分疆列界,各自稱J39nB438_p0251b13尊。彼時有箇海印信禪師,因見無為居士此偈,亦作J39nB438_p0251b14偈曰:「我無男婚,亦無女嫁,困來便打眠,誰管無生話?」J39nB438_p0251b15過此三大士,再無與渠把手共行者。聞勤舊女已嫁J39nB438_p0251b16矣,想于青州布衫公案用力參究,山僧代作一偈,儻J39nB438_p0251b17日後打穿漆桶,與三大士把手共行,不負歷年護法J39nB438_p0251b18之誠。偈曰:「我雖無男婚,卻也有女嫁,從此究根源,再J39nB438_p0251b19不說閒話。」看者一偈與三大士是同耶?是別耶?若道J39nB438_p0251b20同,幻人心識本來無;若道別,罪福皆空無所住。或曰:J39nB438_p0251b21「此是月山參底話頭,因甚書與勤舊?」我直向他道:「嘉J39nB438_p0251b22州大象喫黃連,陝府鐵牛滿口苦。」說到者裏,不覺一J39nB438_p0251b23場大笑,姑且截斷葛藤。
復汾陽覺師弟
J39nB438_p0251b25兀坐山中,無可共話,忽讀華札並十二時歌,不覺抖J39nB438_p0251b26擻精神,通身踊躍。想吾弟做將軍時,金戈鐵馬,躍武J39nB438_p0251b27揚威,未足為貴。今日在糞草堆中拾得無價之寶,照J39nB438_p0251b28天照地,布施無窮,方為貴耳。賢弟莫謂年邁無為,正J39nB438_p0251b29宜老當益壯,他日聲教過汾,利益不同小小。至若聚J39nB438_p0251b30雲掃塔之行,帚柄原在衡山手中,亦任那腳跟穩與J39nB438_p0251c01未穩者隨侍函丈去來。俟秋末冬初,將老聚雲多寶J39nB438_p0251c02全身和盤托出江上,一個個不可謂,衡山得恁麼不J39nB438_p0251c03惜眉毛一笑。

J39nB438_p0251c05莊讀來翰,知吾弟氣概不同,法門甚幸。但門庭施設,J39nB438_p0251c06不可不捷疾操履;入理深談,不可不確細討論。拿者J39nB438_p0251c07兩條路,參証明白,縛作一束,送在永安沱裏,然後向J39nB438_p0251c08寶花座上提持,入泥、入水,或上、或下,只教獅子迷蹤,J39nB438_p0251c09誰奈你何?若不如是,笑破天下人舌頭在。
復友人
J39nB438_p0251c11吉祥久欲出江,第以暑氣逼人,實難舉足。聚雲之行,J39nB438_p0251c12吉祥多子塔中往來遊戲,夜夜同眠,朝朝共起,何必J39nB438_p0251c13區區鼓棹臨江耶?或曰:「理上則可,事上不然。」我向他J39nB438_p0251c14道:「離卻理事,來與吉祥相見。」
答慈庵靜主
J39nB438_p0251c16春初一別,不覺經秋,忽接雲章,恍如覿面。每嘆賢座J39nB438_p0251c17天資不群,住山清白,儻肯放下狂心,一味參究,則世、J39nB438_p0251c18出世間事自然通天達地、耀古騰今,那許倚墻靠壁J39nB438_p0251c19討人冷煖耶?吉祥日用本分為人,若將油、鹽、醬、酢五J39nB438_p0251c20味調和,接待往來諸方,定罵我去在。儻不惜草鞋過J39nB438_p0251c21山一晤,冬瓜、茄子亦任飽餐,必不空出。
寄寶善居士
J39nB438_p0251c23古德云:「頓明自性,與佛同儔。」然有無始染習,必假漸J39nB438_p0251c24修,令人順性起用,如人喫飯,那能一口便飽?圭峰和J39nB438_p0251c25尚答溫造尚書曰:「真理雖然頓達,此情難以卒除,如J39nB438_p0251c26風頓止,波浪暫停,豈可一生所修便同佛用?」又云:「作J39nB438_p0251c27有義事是惺悟心,作無義事是狂亂心。狂亂隨情念,J39nB438_p0251c28臨終被業牽;惺悟不由情,臨終能轉業。」庵提遮女問J39nB438_p0251c29文殊云:「明知生是不生之理,因甚為生死之所流轉?」J39nB438_p0251c30殊云:「其力未充。」雖有見性不留佛、悟道不存師,目睹J39nB438_p0252a01瞿曇猶如黃蘗,一大藏教是老僧坐具,祖師玄旨是J39nB438_p0252a02破草鞋,寧可赤腳不穿者個說話,另具一番眼孔始J39nB438_p0252a03得。所以白居易侍郎問惟寬和尚曰:「禪師何以說法?」J39nB438_p0252a04寬曰:「無上菩提心,戒備於身為律、說於口為法、行於J39nB438_p0252a05心為禪,應用者三,其致一也。」易曰:「既無分別,何以修J39nB438_p0252a06心?」寬曰:「心本無損傷,云何要修理?」易曰:「無修無著,又J39nB438_p0252a07何異凡夫?」寬曰:「凡夫無明,二乘執著,除此二病,是曰J39nB438_p0252a08真修。」真修者,亦非勤、亦非忘,勤則近執著、忘則落無J39nB438_p0252a09明,是為真修心要。古宿入法淵微,示人剋底若此。昔J39nB438_p0252a10大安三十年只看得一頭水牯牛,趙州以粥飯二時J39nB438_p0252a11為錯用心處,此昔後世行履之模範也。如雲門大師J39nB438_p0252a12是法海神龍,出語萬古,不墮常流。一日上堂,問僧曰:J39nB438_p0252a13「世界恁麼闊,為甚鐘聲披七條?」僧曰:「不會。」門云:「七里J39nB438_p0252a14灘頭多蛤子。」今人只知他老作家手段,不知他參學J39nB438_p0252a15之苦。初行腳到乾峰,峰示眾云:「法身有三種病、二種J39nB438_p0252a16光,須是一一透得,更須知有向上一竅。」門云:「只如庵J39nB438_p0252a17內人為甚不知庵外事?」峰呵呵大笑。門云:「猶是某甲J39nB438_p0252a18疑處。」峰云:「你是甚麼心行?」門云:「也要和尚相委悉。」峰J39nB438_p0252a19云:「直須恁麼始得穩坐地。」門云:「諾!諾!」到曹山,山示眾J39nB438_p0252a20云:「諸方盡把格則,何不與他道卻,令他不疑去?」門出J39nB438_p0252a21眾云:「密密處為甚麼不知有?」山云:「秪為密密,所以不J39nB438_p0252a22知有。」門云:「此人如何親近?」山云:「莫向密密處親近。」門J39nB438_p0252a23云:「不向密密處親近時如何?」山云:「始解親近。」門云:「諾!J39nB438_p0252a24諾!」後到疏山,山上堂云:「病僧咸通年前會得法身邊J39nB438_p0252a25事,咸通年後會得法身向上事。」門出眾,云:「如何是法J39nB438_p0252a26身邊事?」山云:「枯樁。」門云:「如何是法身向上事?」山云:「非J39nB438_p0252a27枯樁。」門云:「還許學人說道理也無?」山云:「許。」門云:「和尚J39nB438_p0252a28道枯樁,豈不是法身邊事?」山云:「是。」門云:「道非枯樁,豈J39nB438_p0252a29不是法身向上事?」山云:「是。」門云:「秪如法身還該一切J39nB438_p0252a30法也無?」山云:「法身周遍,豈得不該?」門指淨瓶云:「秪如J39nB438_p0252b01淨瓶還該法身也無?」山云:「闍黎莫向淨瓶邊覓。」門遂J39nB438_p0252b02禮拜。只者幾段機緣一一透得、證得,始可向高高山J39nB438_p0252b03頂立、深深海底行也。居士乘悲願力現將軍身,到法J39nB438_p0252b04門中來摸著衲僧鼻孔,俟出得門時另有一番說話。J39nB438_p0252b05且道:說甚麼話?機絲不挂梭頭事,文彩縱橫意自殊。
