J36nB352_p0527a02破峰重禪師,慧覺先兄嗣也。于蜀鼎沸之際,就鑊湯J36nB352_p0527a03爐炭裏轉大法輪,向塵勞中作大佛事,而無榮無辱,J36nB352_p0527a04為宰官護法之所推重,匪得無畏智、無礙辨,詎克如J36nB352_p0527a05是師子吼耶?可謂有本矣。有嗣慈雲,自南浙還,捃摭J36nB352_p0527a06師稿授余,余目之,見其頌三頓棒云:「三頓棒頭為小J36nB352_p0527a07孩,破家鉤賊甚奇哉,家財耗盡猶還可,過後誰知要J36nB352_p0527a08活埋?」又頌婆子燒庵云:「萬仞峰高久結冰,寒巖花卉J36nB352_p0527a09杳無音,就中幸有陽和力,九曲黃河徹底清。」目至此J36nB352_p0527a10驚喜并集,不憶酒肉之門而猶有斯人,第憾其福不J36nB352_p0527a11逮慧,未久行雙桂之道而早夭。咄!是何言歟?茲錄半J36nB352_p0527a12偈以災梨,面目長年而現在。

J36nB352_p0527c04乙未年,闔郡文武官紳等,請就本寺開堂。
J36nB352_p0527c05師陞座,祝聖畢,末後拈香云:「此瓣香,刀斫不破,斧劈J36nB352_p0527c06不開,黑漆漆,明歷歷,絕纖毫,沒縫隙,至幽微,甚秘密,J36nB352_p0527c07爇向爐中,耑申供養傳臨濟正宗第三十二世本師J36nB352_p0527c08上慧下覺和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」斂衣就座。上首白椎J36nB352_p0527c09云:「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」問:「如何是主中賓?」師云:J36nB352_p0527c10「盲人夜穿鍼。」進云:「如何是賓中主?」師云:「隨處得安樂。」J36nB352_p0527c11進云:「賓主不立時如何?」師云:「秋江一色。」問:「身猶未動,J36nB352_p0527c12意如電光,和尚作麼生?」師云:「亂走作麼?」進云:「未走時J36nB352_p0527c13如何?」師云:「失卻腳跟。」乃云:「一條拄杖子,三世諸佛也J36nB352_p0527c14沒奈何,歷代祖師也沒奈何,山僧今日拈提在手,好J36nB352_p0527c15肉剜瘡。若向未陞座已前覷透,猶是鈍漢,及至葛藤,J36nB352_p0527c16有甚交涉?」遂以拄杖連卓兩下。上首白槌竟,下座。
J36nB352_p0527c17結制,上堂。問:「如何是體中玄?」師云:「秋江月正圓。」進云:J36nB352_p0527c18「如何是妙中玄?」師云:「杲日耀當天。」進云:「如何是玄中J36nB352_p0527c19玄?」師云:「不犯舌頭尖。」乃云:「火爐頭句甚分明,盲龜跛J36nB352_p0527c20鱉瞎眼睛,原是他年陳種子,一回拈出一回新。即今J36nB352_p0527c21紅爐大設,煉聖煆凡,王居士來山瓣供,請山僧打無J36nB352_p0527c22皮鼓、吹沒孔笛、唱無生曲調,且道還有知音者麼?若J36nB352_p0527c23將耳聽終難會,眼底聞聲方始知。」下座。
J36nB352_p0527c24上堂。問:「如何是踞地獅子?」師云:「狐狸絕跡。」進云:「如何J36nB352_p0527c25是獅子吼處?」師良久,云:「聞麼?」進云:「如何藏身?」師打云:J36nB352_p0527c26「欲隱彌露。」問:「如何是第一義?」師云:「未開口前早領三J36nB352_p0527c27十棒。」乃云:「若道第一義諦,三世諸佛全道不著,歷代J36nB352_p0527c28祖師不能覷透。若向空劫已前契會,猶是落二落三。J36nB352_p0527c29即今眾居士至山瓣供,請山僧說些無味之談,正是J36nB352_p0527c30落七落八。且道第一義意旨在甚處?」振席,下座。
J36nB352_p0528a01上堂。「禪道佛法,聽著耳聾,覷著眼瞎。山僧偶應眾居J36nB352_p0528a02士請,自慚唇訥言遲,聊舉一則古人葛藤,以塞來命。J36nB352_p0528a03先哲有云:『佛法若無靈驗,難救三種病人。患聾者,與J36nB352_p0528a04他語言三昧,他又不聞;盲者,與拈槌豎拂,他又不見;J36nB352_p0528a05啞者,使他開言吐露,他又難說。』古人雖然有此話端,J36nB352_p0528a06亦是妄生節目。山僧遇明眼者,只令教瞎;耳聰者,只J36nB352_p0528a07令教聾;能言者,只令教啞。且道與古人是同?是別?」
J36nB352_p0528a08上堂。「眾檀越向般若會中深探智種,大興善心,手擎J36nB352_p0528a09忠義劍戟,胸藏佛祖靈符,鏗鏘法門,股肱王室。且道J36nB352_p0528a10畢竟意旨如何?將軍有八面威風,知識具通身手眼。」J36nB352_p0528a11喝一喝,下座。
J36nB352_p0528a12師誕日,上堂。「三十年來個匹夫,如今冒上祖師圖,無J36nB352_p0528a13量劫來冤債業,飲氣吞聲受塗糊。諸方追宗薦祖,山J36nB352_p0528a14僧惟打口鼓,歷劫冤親、多生父母向拄杖頭上現大J36nB352_p0528a15人相、放大光明。大眾!且道報恩一句如何道?」問:「和尚J36nB352_p0528a16正當降誕之期,有何祥瑞?」師云:「一鼻透青天。」進云:「十J36nB352_p0528a17方世界正是放光現瑞之時,恰當在甚麼處?」師云:「七J36nB352_p0528a18通八達。」問:「日用現前事如何?」師云:「荊棘叢中忙躑足,J36nB352_p0528a19明月村裏休留連。」進云:「萬象總歸一。」師徵云:「如何是J36nB352_p0528a20一?」進云:「水底明月現,杲日正當陽。」師云:「月落後如何?」J36nB352_p0528a21僧擬議,師便打,乃云:「三世諸佛捐頭尾,歷代祖師盡J36nB352_p0528a22攢眉,一莖拄杖頻拈弄,普報群恩慶無餘。」卓拄杖一J36nB352_p0528a23下,下座。
J36nB352_p0528a24佛成道日,上堂。「祖令當行,十方坐斷,吹毛微舉,凡聖J36nB352_p0528a25潛蹤。今日釋迦老漢成道之期,若言有道可成,埋沒J36nB352_p0528a26釋迦;若言無道可成,辜負自己。且道就中還有別幽J36nB352_p0528a27微、定邪正者麼?出來與老僧相見。」問答罷,乃云:「禍胎J36nB352_p0528a28出自老胡,惡因起於壁觀,殃及人人,空盤打算。若是J36nB352_p0528a29上流,未舉先判。怎奈韓盧東走西竄?且道還有得定J36nB352_p0528a30者麼?男兒自有翀天志,不向他人行處行。」
J36nB352_p0528b01上堂。「山僧未涉唇吻,眾兄弟癡癡獃獃,及至登座,諸J36nB352_p0528b02人立問立答,向舌根下覓討端倪。曾不聞古人有言:J36nB352_p0528b03『問在答處,答在問處,猶是向葛藤窩裏打輥,終無了J36nB352_p0528b04期。』各各向未涉唇吻已前,一一自己胸襟流出,蓋天J36nB352_p0528b05蓋地,自然風行草偃,水到渠成。」喝一喝。
J36nB352_p0528b06上堂。問:「如何是最初句?」師云:「杲日出時光滿地。」進云:J36nB352_p0528b07「如何是親切句?」師便打。進云:「如何是轉身句?」師又打。J36nB352_p0528b08乃云:「前三三與後三三,珍重禪人仔細參,參到忘功J36nB352_p0528b09絕跡處,踏碎銀山夜過關。且道還有過得關者麼?」喝J36nB352_p0528b10一喝,下座。
J36nB352_p0528b11上堂。「祖師心印,狀似鐵牛之機,去即印住,住即印破。J36nB352_p0528b12只如不去不住,印即是?不印即是?」良久,云:「這個無紋J36nB352_p0528b13印子,若天若人、若凡若聖,未曾移易一絲毫許,因甚J36nB352_p0528b14麼諸人不會?只為分明極,翻令所得遲。」
J36nB352_p0528b15解制,上堂。「結制時一場懡㦬,解制時一場懡㦬,未結J36nB352_p0528b16未解時一場懡㦬。且道平穩一句作麼生道?本來無J36nB352_p0528b17一事,何處有干戈?」
住資陽縣佛興禪寺語錄
J36nB352_p0528b19師在嘉定,受資陽縣眾居士請,住佛興。師至三門,以J36nB352_p0528b20拄杖點三下,云:「前三三,後三三,兩兩三三一串穿,拄J36nB352_p0528b21杖點開精徹眼,徐行踏破趙州關。」遂進。
佛殿。云:「冤有J36nB352_p0528b22頭,債有主,無量劫來曾觸忤,今朝特地起狼煙,甜者J36nB352_p0528b23甜兮苦者苦。」遂拜,云:「屈!屈!」
至座前,以拄杖擊座,云:「須J36nB352_p0528b24彌燈王曾居,山僧今日當坐。雖然如是,也是將錯就J36nB352_p0528b25錯。」便陞座。拈香云:「此一瓣香爇向爐中,耑申供養本J36nB352_p0528b26師釋迦牟尼佛及歷代祖師。」又拈香云:「此一瓣香爇J36nB352_p0528b27向爐中,端為祝延 今上J36nB352_p0528b28皇帝萬歲!萬歲!萬萬歲!」末後拈香云:「此一瓣香乃第J36nB352_p0528b29二回拈出,爇向爐中,耑申供養傳臨濟正宗第三十J36nB352_p0528b30二世上慧下覺本師大和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」上首白J36nB352_p0528c01槌竟,問答罷,師乃云:「釋迦老漢設三期以調心,架紅J36nB352_p0528c02爐而煉士,且道心作麼生調?士作麼生煉?」良久,頌云:J36nB352_p0528c03「鱉鼻蛇頭直捷通,鋒鋩點處絕羅籠,胸中佛祖機關J36nB352_p0528c04盡,凡聖一齊列下風。」喝一喝,下座。
J36nB352_p0528c05上堂。師以拂子左邊敲禪床,云:「於此會得,松直棘曲,J36nB352_p0528c06鶴長鳧短,大地坦平,頭頭顯現。」右邊敲禪床,云:「於此J36nB352_p0528c07會得,三世諸佛盡在汝等諸人腳跟下放光動地,歷J36nB352_p0528c08代祖師盡在汝等諸人胸襟裏縱去奪來。」以拂子於J36nB352_p0528c09空中畫圓相,云:「於此會得,堪與諸佛把手共行,堪與J36nB352_p0528c10祖師同一鼻孔出氣。」復以拂子擲下,云:「於此會得,盡J36nB352_p0528c11大地人亡鋒結舌,天下善知識藏身無所。且道利害J36nB352_p0528c12在甚麼處?」
J36nB352_p0528c13上堂。師默然據座,良久高聲云:「大眾不得妄生穿鑿。」J36nB352_p0528c14劈口掌云:「口是禍門。」下座。
J36nB352_p0528c15上堂。「囫圇一句語,開口不周全,縱撩拄杖子,也是矢J36nB352_p0528c16加尖。且道就中還有道得全者麼?不妨出來與老僧J36nB352_p0528c17相見。」一僧出,喝一喝,問云:「臨濟一喝分賓主,學人這J36nB352_p0528c18一喝還分得賓主也無?」師便打。問:「路逢達道人,不將J36nB352_p0528c19語默對,畢竟將甚麼對?」師云:「速退!速退!」進云:「如何是J36nB352_p0528c20直捷為人處?」師云:「杖長七尺。」乃舉:「風穴垂語云:『若立J36nB352_p0528c21一塵,家國興盛;不立一塵,家國喪亡。』恁麼說話,大似J36nB352_p0528c22劃作兩橛。普重則不然,若立一塵,也未興盛;不立一J36nB352_p0528c23塵,亦未頹喪。更有一頌,分明舉似。」連卓拄杖云:「看取!J36nB352_p0528c24看取!」
J36nB352_p0528c25上堂。「山僧重重絡索,錯下幾許註腳。檢點將來,全無J36nB352_p0528c26煞合。且道如何是有煞合一句?天上有星皆拱北,人J36nB352_p0528c27間無水不朝東。」
J36nB352_p0528c28上堂。「一句全提,無聖無凡無向背;磨礱赫奕,絕空絕J36nB352_p0528c29色絕羅籠。透網金鱗,休憶禹門栖舊岸;玲瓏達士,直J36nB352_p0528c30須透過上頭關。且道就中還有透關者麼?」良久,師復J36nB352_p0529a01舉:「馬祖見百丈來,豎起拂子,丈云:『即此用?離此用?』祖J36nB352_p0529a02掛拂子於繩床角,祖云:『汝向後開兩片皮,如何為人?』J36nB352_p0529a03丈亦豎起拂子,祖云:『即此用?離此用?』丈掛拂子於舊J36nB352_p0529a04處。馬祖震威一喝,百丈從空放下。然先哲若無頂門J36nB352_p0529a05正眼、肘後神符,怎得輝騰今古?然雖如是,山僧檢點J36nB352_p0529a06將來,也是憐兒不覺醜。」
J36nB352_p0529a07臘八日,上堂。「山僧本來無說,應個因緣時節,提起者J36nB352_p0529a08段根由,不得不容饒舌。釋迦初生,打失腳跟,周行七J36nB352_p0529a09步,分明錯路,睹星成道,望空啟告,末後拈花,通身泥J36nB352_p0529a10沙,更示雙趺,轉見塗糊。山僧看來,正是時清大盜。復J36nB352_p0529a11有臨濟、德山種種阿師,起模畫樣,倚草附木,弄鬼眼J36nB352_p0529a12睛,正是賊中細作。今日撞著山僧,以拄杖一時穿卻J36nB352_p0529a13鼻孔,拋向諸人面前,出氣不得。且道眾中還有為釋J36nB352_p0529a14迦老子、臨濟、德山出得氣者麼?」擲拄杖,云:「一齊捉敗J36nB352_p0529a15了也。阿呵呵!」便下座。
住順慶府香積禪院語錄
J36nB352_p0529a17師自丙申歲歸南邑,受守道王廷郡侯洪其清請,住J36nB352_p0529a18香積禪院。師入院陞座,拈香祝聖畢,末後拈香云:「此J36nB352_p0529a19瓣香二十五年費盡辛勤,今朝乃第三回拈出,爇向J36nB352_p0529a20爐中,耑申供養傳臨濟正宗三十二世本師慧覺大J36nB352_p0529a21和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」上首白槌竟,一僧出,默然而立。J36nB352_p0529a22師云:「裝死賣活作麼?」僧喝云:「第一義諦當下粉碎了J36nB352_p0529a23也。且道如何相見?」師云:「用第二杓惡水作麼?」進云:「恁J36nB352_p0529a24麼則庭前翠柏千年古,點綴青松與白雲。」師云:「猶是J36nB352_p0529a25第二頭。」進云:「狼藉枯枝花更香。」師云:「放過一著。」乃云:J36nB352_p0529a26「未到香積,口早生塵,偶遇護法請開爐鞴,只得開兩J36nB352_p0529a27片皮為諸禪人舉揚法化。且道還說心說性得麼?說J36nB352_p0529a28玄說妙得麼?論機論境得麼?論實論虛得麼?總不與J36nB352_p0529a29麼,也是貧兒思舊債。畢竟意旨如何?萬邦有道歸王J36nB352_p0529a30化,四海歌謠賀太平。」
J36nB352_p0529b01上堂。「自住東山四載餘,未曾提著祖師機,今朝幸遇J36nB352_p0529b02知音客,不覺通身入水泥。山野年來將祖道、佛法一J36nB352_p0529b03齊放下,格外風騷頓絕幾先,斯時逢本然禪客臨山J36nB352_p0529b04瓣供,露格外風、開人天眼,使聖道之通衢作衲僧之J36nB352_p0529b05巴鼻。然雖如是,山野仍將數十年來一段風光盡忘J36nB352_p0529b06於廛市家國,祖佛機宜悉潛於果城舊地,即今雖則J36nB352_p0529b07拈弄鋒鋩,貴在未舉已前討個下落。還委悉麼?」良久,J36nB352_p0529b08云:「納被幪頭萬事休,此時山僧都不會。」
J36nB352_p0529b09原任鄰水邑侯劉燦設齋,請上堂。僧問:「道玄參馬祖,J36nB352_p0529b10豁開心地;裴休訪希運,洞徹本根。劉護法今日飯僧,J36nB352_p0529b11未審以何相為?」師云:「昨夜文星從天降,祥雲原自日J36nB352_p0529b12邊來。」進云:「人人共唱無生曲,個個俱彈沒絃琴。」師云:J36nB352_p0529b13「兩輪日月垂交互,草木昆蟲盡揚眉。」進云:「四海狼煙J36nB352_p0529b14俱掃盡,萬邦直教樂昇平。」師云:「鵰弓已掛狼煙息,鼓J36nB352_p0529b15腹謳歌運化神。」進云:「幸逢證據。」師云:「不必道破。」乃云:J36nB352_p0529b16「釋迦不說說,毗嵐猛風吹海烈;迦葉不聞聞,青山只J36nB352_p0529b17得輾微塵。留下一轉語,舌頭在口裏,千古鎮乾坤,山J36nB352_p0529b18河大地、日月星辰。今朝金湯劉護法至香積寺中,恰J36nB352_p0529b19似紅爐添炭,正所謂:『不昧靈山親囑,扶揚末運頹綱,J36nB352_p0529b20手攜仲尼日月,胸藏佛祖靈符。』鏗鏘法門,股肱王室,J36nB352_p0529b21為瑞為祥,為龜為鑑。且道:還有知端的意旨者麼?昔J36nB352_p0529b22日龍蟠為甘雨,今朝果熟故園香。」
J36nB352_p0529b23上堂。舉:「昔日有一婆子供養趙州,請州轉藏,州下禪J36nB352_p0529b24床繞一匝,云:『藏已轉畢。』婆云:『我請轉全藏,如何只轉J36nB352_p0529b25得半藏?』且道如何是全藏?據實而論,三世諸佛、歷代J36nB352_p0529b26祖師繞百千萬億匝,於婆子分上也只得半藏在。何J36nB352_p0529b27故?看這婆子洞房穩密,善絕干戈,趙州轉藏不全,卻J36nB352_p0529b28被婆子看破。且道就中還有轉得全藏者麼?困來曲J36nB352_p0529b29臂支頭睡,不怕人來偷枕頭。」喝一喝,下座。
J36nB352_p0529b30佛成道日,上堂。「一字搜窮,徹透虛空骨髓;萬機頓赴,J36nB352_p0529c01獨露衲子端倪。成佛不成佛,難逃翳眼空花;迷悟非J36nB352_p0529c02迷悟,豈免腳底泥水?今朝乃是釋迦成道之期,護法J36nB352_p0529c03趙檀越至山供眾,天人讚仰,神鬼欽崇,四眾沐恩,泉J36nB352_p0529c04石有賴。然雖如是,更有一個漢不受人天供養、不受J36nB352_p0529c05二諦瞻禮,從生至生未曾喫著一粒米、從劫至劫不J36nB352_p0529c06曾掛著一縷絲,若識此人,可與佛祖為師。且道:眾中J36nB352_p0529c07還有識得此人者麼?」一僧出,從東過西、從西過東,於J36nB352_p0529c08中畫一圓相,卓然而立,師云:「不堪了也。」進云:「一枝永J36nB352_p0529c09茂千年秀,五葉聯芳萬古奇。」師云:「塗毒鼓邊休側耳。」J36nB352_p0529c10僧以袖抹圓相,云:「恁麼則前不尊釋迦、後不禮彌勒J36nB352_p0529c11去也。」師云:「一恁𨁝跳。」乃舉:「昔日靈山會上有五百比J36nB352_p0529c12丘,得四禪定、具五神通,未得法忍,各各以宿命通見J36nB352_p0529c13過去殺害父母種種冤親,於甚深法不能悟入。於是,J36nB352_p0529c14文殊師利菩薩手執利劍持逼如來,佛云:『住!住!不應J36nB352_p0529c15作逆,不得害吾,吾必被害、為善被害。文殊師利!汝從J36nB352_p0529c16本來無有我人,但以內心見有我人,內心起時吾必J36nB352_p0529c17被害,是名為害。』於是,五百比丘自悟本心,得證無生J36nB352_p0529c18法忍、得旋陀羅尼。」師云:「為人為徹,殺人見血,文殊微J36nB352_p0529c19露鋒鋩、釋迦通身是口也分疏不下。不但釋迦分疏J36nB352_p0529c20不下,直饒千佛祖師一難分疏,覓此劍來處不得。且J36nB352_p0529c21道:還有知此劍來處者麼?」良久,云:「劍為不平離寶匣,J36nB352_p0529c22藥因救病出金瓶。」下座。
J36nB352_p0529c23上堂。「煦日麗空,塵塵剎剎舒瑞相;千眼圓頓,山河大J36nB352_p0529c24地露全身。千丈盧舍那,原來糞箕苕帚;丈六紫摩身,J36nB352_p0529c25亦是磚頭土塊。於此無取無捨、無是無非、無長無短、J36nB352_p0529c26無得無失,塵塵爾、剎剎爾、念念爾、法法爾,上無攀仰,J36nB352_p0529c27下絕己躬,常光現前,壁立萬仞,正所謂趙州使得十J36nB352_p0529c28二時辰也。且道就中有使得十二時辰也麼?」一僧出,J36nB352_p0529c29近前一喝,師云:「被十二時辰使也。」進云:「到這裏未免J36nB352_p0529c30大家不著便。」師云:「下坡不走,快便難逢。」乃舉:「風穴郢J36nB352_p0530a01州衙內上堂云:『祖師心印,狀似鐵牛之機,去即印住,J36nB352_p0530a02住即印破。只如不去不住,印即是?不印即是?還有人J36nB352_p0530a03道得麼?』時有盧陂長老出問:『學人有鐵牛之機,請師J36nB352_p0530a04不搭印。』師曰:『慣釣鯨鯢澄巨浸,卻憐蛙步𩥇泥沙。』陂J36nB352_p0530a05注思,穴喝曰:『長老何不進語?』陂擬議,穴便打一拂子,J36nB352_p0530a06曰:『還記得話頭麼?』陂擬開口,穴又打一拂子。時有牧J36nB352_p0530a07主曰:『信知佛法與王法一般。』穴曰:『見甚麼道理?』主曰:J36nB352_p0530a08『當斷不斷,反招其亂。』穴便下座。」師云:「此則葛藤有些J36nB352_p0530a09淆訛處所,這僧打頭太過,末後不及,風穴據令而行,J36nB352_p0530a10卻被傍觀者哂。且道就中還有知風穴落處麼?羚羊J36nB352_p0530a11掛角千峰外,更有羚羊在上方。」下座。

J36nB352_p0530a13師受闔郡紳士請住觀音,開爐。入院禮佛,云:「似拜不J36nB352_p0530a14拜,也甚奇怪,各自稱尊,一彩兩賽。」至座前,云:「狻猊聳J36nB352_p0530a15翠,非眾寶以攢成;曲彔高軒,豈龍象而覷破?山僧即J36nB352_p0530a16今居此,天人亦須迴互。」便陞。上首白槌竟,問答罷,師J36nB352_p0530a17乃云:「幾迴生,壁上畫麒麟;幾迴死,大象褁燒紙。生死J36nB352_p0530a18悠悠無定止,日上月下,自從頓悟了無生;錯認定盤J36nB352_p0530a19星,於諸榮辱何憂喜?不消漏逗。」擲卻拄杖,下座。
J36nB352_p0530a20上堂。問:「適間未出方丈,已打葛藤;今登曲彔木床,漏J36nB352_p0530a21逗不少。須是法爾如然,未免一場扯淡。二途不立,如J36nB352_p0530a22何垂示?」師云:「丁一卓二。」進云:「四海浪平龍睡穩,九天J36nB352_p0530a23雲凈鶴飛高。」師云:「高有餘,低不足。」進云:「堂前生瑞草,J36nB352_p0530a24好事不如無。」師云:「帶累闍黎。」進云:「恁麼則五臺山上J36nB352_p0530a25雲蒸飯,佛殿階前狗尿天。」師云:「直須截斷。」乃舉:「死心J36nB352_p0530a26和尚云:『一人所在也須到,半人所在也須到,無人所J36nB352_p0530a27在也須到。』看這老漢出言吐氣,有定衲子之權衡,分J36nB352_p0530a28龍蛇之變化。若向此三語下明徹得、透脫得,可以攪J36nB352_p0530a29長河為酥酪,變大地作黃金;其或未然,不免遍界坑J36nB352_p0530a30坎堆阜,荊棘阻途。且道就中還有能向此處明得、透J36nB352_p0530b01得者麼?金鏃慣調曾百戰,鐵鞭多力恨無讎。」
J36nB352_p0530b02上堂。「道無二路,義絕淆訛,事具千差,理歸一致。雖則J36nB352_p0530b03鼓唇搖舌,要知格外提持。今朝幸遇二維摩來山飯J36nB352_p0530b04眾,只得舉則古人機宜以為話柄。昔有個王常侍訪J36nB352_p0530b05臨濟,侍曰:『這一堂僧眾還看經麼?』濟曰:『不看經。』侍曰:J36nB352_p0530b06『還參禪麼?』濟曰:『不參禪。』侍曰:『經又不看,禪又不參,畢J36nB352_p0530b07竟作甚麼?』濟曰:『總教伊成佛作祖去。』侍曰:『金屑雖貴,J36nB352_p0530b08落眼成翳。』濟曰:『我將謂你是個俗漢。』」師云:「臨濟若無J36nB352_p0530b09後語,卻被常侍看破。忽有人問山僧:『這一堂僧眾還J36nB352_p0530b10看經麼?』云:『看經。』『還參禪麼?』云:『參禪。』或云:『又看經,又參J36nB352_p0530b11禪,畢竟作麼生?』云:『只教無佛可成,無道可得去。』或云:J36nB352_p0530b12『郎當不少。』云:『我將謂你是個大人。』山僧若無後語,卻J36nB352_p0530b13被維摩看破。大眾!且道與古人是同是別?填溝塞壑J36nB352_p0530b14無人會,雨過夜塘秋水深。」下座。
J36nB352_p0530b15元旦,上堂。問:「如何是賓?」師云:「將軍令。」進云:「如何是主?」J36nB352_p0530b16師云:「天子敕。」進云:「賓主不立時如何?」師云:「截斷前後J36nB352_p0530b17句,料掉沒交涉。」乃云:「山僧自住果城,偶遇本府眾居J36nB352_p0530b18士,共相扶助道脈,整頓徽猷,同聲相應,同氣相求。猶J36nB352_p0530b19記得昔龐公訪藥山,辭次,藥山令十禪客相送至門J36nB352_p0530b20首,時值下雪,龐公指雪云:『好雪片片,不落別處。』全禪J36nB352_p0530b21客云:『且道落在甚麼處?』公便掌,全云:『且莫草草。』公云:J36nB352_p0530b22『恁麼稱禪客,閻老子未放你在。』全云:『居士作麼生?』公J36nB352_p0530b23又掌云:『耳聽如聾,口說如啞。』」師云:「看這龐公見境生J36nB352_p0530b24情,有個下落。全禪客買鐵得金,一場好彩即不無,今J36nB352_p0530b25我眾居士第未知有龐公見處否?昔日龐老,今朝居J36nB352_p0530b26士,如是不隔一絲毫,只恐同途不同轍。」拍几云:「也畢J36nB352_p0530b27竟不落別處。」
J36nB352_p0530b28解制,上堂。「大道坦平,無起無倒;真機演唱,何解何結?J36nB352_p0530b29若然,覿體渾融,處處總為華藏界,頭頭盡是釋迦文,J36nB352_p0530b30結制之梯航何安?聖賢之階級孰立?且道就中還有J36nB352_p0530c01向此處嶷然具眼者麼?不妨出來,大家定當。」僧問:「寒J36nB352_p0530c02盡春風花滿地,當軒布鼓震龍門,未審如何得相應J36nB352_p0530c03去?」師云:「霹靂一聲轟宇宙,撩天落魄甚驚群。」進云:「倒J36nB352_p0530c04嶽傾湫無回互,吐霧吞煙占五湖。」師云:「沒交涉。」進云:J36nB352_p0530c05「長天日月輝今古,觸處笙歌萬象新。」師云:「隔嶺望煙J36nB352_p0530c06知是火,策藜惟見白雲堆。」舉:「翠嵒示眾云:『一夏已來J36nB352_p0530c07為眾兄弟東說西說,看翠巖眉毛還在麼?』長慶云:『生J36nB352_p0530c08也。』保福云:『作賊人心虛。』雲門云:『關。』看這翠巖眉毛墮J36nB352_p0530c09落處自救不了,復有三元龍象互相蹴踏,仔細檢點J36nB352_p0530c10將來,個個膽小。今日山僧則不然,一冬已來為眾兄J36nB352_p0530c11弟東說西說,看山僧眉毛長麼?」復云:「出門泥水無回J36nB352_p0530c12互,瞬目青山千萬重。」

J36nB352_p0530c14元日,上堂。「新正一,萬象森羅從此立,作夜磨盤生八J36nB352_p0530c15角,驚起泥牛吹觱栗。報道東山老禿奴,明明向道:真J36nB352_p0530c16不識,真不識,上下四維無縫隙。火就燥,水流濕,龍驤J36nB352_p0530c17虎驟風雲際。山僧滿口成話杷,具眼當陽共分析。且J36nB352_p0530c18道就中還有分析者麼?不妨出眾酬唱。」問:「昔日鏡清J36nB352_p0530c19云:『諸方只具啐啄同時眼,不具啐啄同時用。』如何是J36nB352_p0530c20啐啄同時眼?」師云:「放汝三十棒。」進云:「如何是啐啄同J36nB352_p0530c21時用?」師云:「放汝三十棒。」進云:「南院道:『作家不啐啄,啐J36nB352_p0530c22啄同時失。』又作麼生?」師云:「失。」進云:「恁麼則學人推倒J36nB352_p0530c23禪床,喝散大眾去也。」師哂云:「咦。」進云:「仁義道中放過J36nB352_p0530c24一著。」師便打,乃云:「即今香積寺功德主張公於新正J36nB352_p0530c25元日造衲衣一頂供養山僧,自慮德寡福微,難堪披J36nB352_p0530c26搭,只得作一頭水牯牛早承當了也。」喝一喝,下座。
J36nB352_p0530c27本然、無極二上座率眾姓建會追宗,請至白塔寺,上J36nB352_p0530c28堂。師至法堂,作此⊕相,云:「人天交感,萬象崇新,是聖J36nB352_p0530c29是凡,總歸中徑。」以腳抹卻,云:「雖然蹤跡親描出,形滅J36nB352_p0530c30跡掃少人知。」至法座前,以拄杖擊座,云:「狻猊縱廣,非J36nB352_p0531a01語默可及。釋迦老漢向這裏夢語未惺,歷代祖師於J36nB352_p0531a02此納敗愈甚。山僧口似乞兒破草鞋,即今且道:如何J36nB352_p0531a03施設?不入驚人浪,怎得稱意鱗?」便陞。拈香,白槌畢,師J36nB352_p0531a04云:「大道無向無背,真機有捲有舒,三世諸佛說不說J36nB352_p0531a05之法,歷代祖師傳無傳之心。把住時,乾坤失色,日月J36nB352_p0531a06無光;放行時,海晏河清,風行草偃。若是不放不收,萬J36nB352_p0531a07象森羅各得其所。且道:就中還有共相證據者麼?」問J36nB352_p0531a08答罷,乃云:「真機演唱,幸遇知音,入水救人,聊通一線。J36nB352_p0531a09今朝是我本無二上座率眾姓等建淨業道場,資諸J36nB352_p0531a10考妣,仍請山僧登曲彔木床,說不思議話。」以拄杖卓J36nB352_p0531a11一卓,云:「乾坤於此建立,日月於此流光,萬象森羅從J36nB352_p0531a12斯養育,九有十類從斯安排。且道:『如何是現前大眾J36nB352_p0531a13安身立命處?』披蓑側立千峰外,引水澆蔬五老前。」
J36nB352_p0531a14朔一日,再請上堂。「果城故郡,三巴明府,劫難兵燹,惟J36nB352_p0531a15存瓦棘。幸有現前四眾入等廣修福業、多布善芽,於J36nB352_p0531a16此殺害冤親冰消瓦解,皆為多生淳熟、戒行精專,猶J36nB352_p0531a17然大建白塔叢林,為勝世福田、作人天上剎,仍建淨J36nB352_p0531a18業道場資諸考妣,復請山僧重登寶座為眾決疑。猶J36nB352_p0531a19記昔日有一婆子參瑯琊和尚,偶聽貧子唱蓮花樂J36nB352_p0531a20云:『不因柳毅傳書信,何緣得到洞庭湖?』了然大悟,拋J36nB352_p0531a21油餈於街上,其夫云:『汝顛耶?』婆便掌云:『非公境界。』後J36nB352_p0531a22於瑯琊和尚處印可,凡見僧至便云:『兒!』待僧擬議,婆J36nB352_p0531a23便閉卻門。後有佛燈珣往看之,婆見便云:『兒!兒!』珣云:J36nB352_p0531a24『娘在這裏,且道爺在甚麼處?』婆便轉身拜露柱,珣便J36nB352_p0531a25踏倒云:『將謂有多少奇特?』便出,婆云:『兒!兒!來!我惜你J36nB352_p0531a26則箇。』珣便不顧而去。後有安首座往看之,婆云:『甚處J36nB352_p0531a27來?』座云:『德山來。』婆云:『德山泰是婆的兒。』座云:『且道婆J36nB352_p0531a28又是何人兒?』婆云:『被上座一問,只得立地放尿。』」師云:J36nB352_p0531a29「這婆子鍼線傳家、洞房深穩,祖師機關徹底領荷,佛J36nB352_p0531a30燈珣捉賊歸功,殊不知弓折箭盡,安首座排兵調鬥J36nB352_p0531b01未定輸贏。而今諸方扶強不扶弱,山僧今日扶弱不J36nB352_p0531b02扶強。這婆子恁麼賣弄,坐籌帷幄、決勝千里即不無,J36nB352_p0531b03爭如我白塔四眾風恬浪靜、無作無為殊勝多也?更J36nB352_p0531b04為諸人頌出:一句彌陀為拄杖,何愁平地不生蓮?若J36nB352_p0531b05得胸中疑情斷,水綠山青一樣鮮。」
J36nB352_p0531b06上堂。「三十年前有傝𠎷,三十年後沒巴鼻,先哲權衡J36nB352_p0531b07置之物外,自己性命七落八零。今朝偶遇本府明維J36nB352_p0531b08摩,不遠千里而至荒山,欲破生死關頭,觸碎本來面J36nB352_p0531b09孔,大入紅爐,重重煆煉。此維摩亦曾經過大老鍵鎚,J36nB352_p0531b10露出青鋒利刃,雖然如是,猶在半途。山野只得將無J36nB352_p0531b11作有,露個消息,誘他歸家去也。且道就中還有自解J36nB352_p0531b12力行,不受牽引者麼?」師良久,云:「道泰不傳天子令,時J36nB352_p0531b13清休唱太平歌。」
J36nB352_p0531b14臘八,上堂。問:「百丈問溈山:『併卻咽喉唇吻作麼生道?』J36nB352_p0531b15山云:『卻請和尚道。』意旨如何?」師云:「就身打劫。」進云:「百J36nB352_p0531b16丈道:『不辭向汝道,恐後喪我兒孫。』是何宗旨?」師云:「老J36nB352_p0531b17婆心切。」進云:「百丈復問五峰,峰云:『和尚也須併卻。』又J36nB352_p0531b18作麼生?」師云:「截舌了也。」進云:「百丈道:『待無人時,斫額J36nB352_p0531b19望汝。』且道是肯他?不肯他?」師云:「兩彩一賽。」進云:「百丈J36nB352_p0531b20復問雲巖,巖云:『和尚有也未?』此理如何?」師打云:「與汝J36nB352_p0531b21見解相同。」進云:「學人今日請問和尚:併卻咽喉唇吻J36nB352_p0531b22作麼生道?」師云:「只得忘前失後。」進云:「恁麼則學人不J36nB352_p0531b23疑天下老和尚舌頭去也。」師喝云:「更參三十年。」進云:J36nB352_p0531b24「這老漢頂門有眼,瞞他一點不得。」師云:「退身有分。」乃J36nB352_p0531b25云:「釋迦臘八夜,睹明星悟道。即今夜夜有星,人人皆J36nB352_p0531b26見,因甚麼不悟?縱然悟得去,也是刺腦入膠盆。東山J36nB352_p0531b27恁麼舉揚,亦是狐狸戀舊窟。畢竟作麼生?速道!速道!」
J36nB352_p0531b28小參。「三朝一七,討個巴鼻,今已一七,大眾且道有巴J36nB352_p0531b29鼻也未?山僧觀眾兄弟三個一攢、四個一簇,只圖熱J36nB352_p0531b30鬧打謴過期,未曾有一個真實用工者,尚且在禪床J36nB352_p0531c01上也還無禪、經行處也還無禪,何況朝夕隨情逐意J36nB352_p0531c02處?如野馬無轡、曠牛不拴,如此安得透生死關頭?且J36nB352_p0531c03道諸佛少你禪耶?祖師少你禪耶?天下善知識少你J36nB352_p0531c04禪耶?汝等何不向自己胸襟下貼體自究一番,將各J36nB352_p0531c05人本參話頭猛著精彩,忽然觸著磕著,一透百透、一J36nB352_p0531c06明百明,不著問人而自了了也。不勞久立。」
J36nB352_p0531c07小參。「諸佛說不著處,借口傳言;祖師提不起時,全身J36nB352_p0531c08擔荷。果能如是,猶是建法幢、立宗旨、施設邊事。且道J36nB352_p0531c09向上更有事否?若知有去,釋迦、彌勒只可吞聲,文殊、J36nB352_p0531c10普賢不敢吐氣,德山一棒猶未是恰,臨濟一喝命根J36nB352_p0531c11不絕,雲門、顧鑒墮坑落塹,仰山、圓相自弄泥團,曹洞J36nB352_p0531c12五位失錢遭罪,法眼六義翳眼添翳。若具向上事,老J36nB352_p0531c13僧結舌亡鋒,不堪共語。因為情不獲已,為汝諸人通J36nB352_p0531c14個消息。」驀拈拄杖,云:「見麼?向這裏見得徹去,有佛處J36nB352_p0531c15敲枷打鎖,無佛處見兔放鷹,如龍得水、任西任東,似J36nB352_p0531c16鳥騰空、隨高隨下。若然者,衲僧門下更有事在。且道J36nB352_p0531c17如何是衲僧門下事?」以拄杖一時趕散。
J36nB352_p0531c18小參。云:「山僧年方十二,離塵十四,撞著本師,領個話J36nB352_p0531c19頭,朝夕追尋,向老和尚邊覓求決擇。至三年,忽有消J36nB352_p0531c20息,非從外得。又年餘,實實體會,更無別有。元來,元來!J36nB352_p0531c21更不多疑,以為主宰。後為時世遷變,行至黔中,入山J36nB352_p0531c22住靜三年,胸中無事可疑。偶遇余山老漢,將些甜言J36nB352_p0531c23密語哄我同住,山僧不受處分,被他點著痛處。同住J36nB352_p0531c24三年,更參觸背話頭,期會須結二三,只是分疏不下,J36nB352_p0531c25每每受那老漢許多屈折,發起勇猛,將從前所作所J36nB352_p0531c26為一齊劈碎,四十日未曾眨眼,忽聞霹靂大震,渾然J36nB352_p0531c27一刀兩斷、身心一如,方悔從前作為盡是客塵邊事,J36nB352_p0531c28虛勞心力耳。自此打成一片,方覺無一物之語。雖然,J36nB352_p0531c29未敢放逸,連年以來住幾叢林,不過隨緣度日而已,J36nB352_p0531c30未曾將心肝肺腑拋向諸人面前。即今眾兄弟多生J36nB352_p0532a01有幸,於此大鞴池中、紅爐底裏每受鍵鎚,不得妄生J36nB352_p0532a02退屈,定要勇猛精進,努力一番,徹底推倒,掉轉面皮,J36nB352_p0532a03看此利害在甚麼處?若能直下承當得、擔荷得、行履J36nB352_p0532a04得,堪與先哲同一鼻孔。故臨濟有語云:『沿流不止問J36nB352_p0532a05如何,真照無邊說似他?離相離名人不稟,吹毛用了J36nB352_p0532a06急須磨。』大眾!且道如何是吹毛用了急須磨處?」師驀J36nB352_p0532a07拈拄杖,云:「三世諸佛以此接物利生,歷代祖師以此J36nB352_p0532a08播揚奧旨,衲僧以此敲骨取髓、痛下鍼錐,佛祖窠窟J36nB352_p0532a09摟碎,凡聖徑路不通。然雖人水救人,只可提持一半,J36nB352_p0532a10當知衲僧分上更有向上全提在。」良久,云:「咦!」
J36nB352_p0532a11小參。云:「參學人只須空拳赤手,直出直入,毫釐揮盡,J36nB352_p0532a12一貧徹骨,窮得潔淨,方稱行腳。若是擔囊負缽,粘皮J36nB352_p0532a13帶骨,滿肚骯髒,胸藏一物,纏山繞水,迤邐行腳,有甚J36nB352_p0532a14了期?曾不聞香嚴在百丈時,一問十答,十問百答。後J36nB352_p0532a15百丈遷化,方謁溈山,山問云:『久聞師弟在百丈先師J36nB352_p0532a16處一問十答,十問百答,是否?』嚴云:『不敢。』山云:『吾有一J36nB352_p0532a17問。』嚴云:『便請。』山云:『父母未生已前一句作麼生道?』嚴J36nB352_p0532a18不能對,慚惶歸寮,去古人錄中揀取一句來酬,更無J36nB352_p0532a19一句相應,遂別溈山。後住山數載,深疑此事,拋石擊J36nB352_p0532a20竹,了然大悟,遂有偈云:『一擊忘所知,更不假修持,處J36nB352_p0532a21處無蹤跡,聲色外威儀。動容揚古路,不墮悄然機,諸J36nB352_p0532a22方達道者,咸言上上機。』後溈山聞,云:『此子徹也。』仰云:J36nB352_p0532a23『此心意識作成,待慧寂勘過始得。』後仰山至香嚴處,J36nB352_p0532a24便問:『師弟有悟道偈,是否?』嚴云:『是。』仰云:『試舉看。』嚴復J36nB352_p0532a25舉前話,山云:『此是心意識作成,若是真悟,必不重舉。』J36nB352_p0532a26嚴復道一偈:『去年貧,未是貧;今年貧,始是貧。去年還J36nB352_p0532a27有卓錐地,今年錐也無?』山云:『如來禪許師弟會,祖師J36nB352_p0532a28禪未夢見在。』嚴復道一偈:『吾有一機,瞬目視伊;若人J36nB352_p0532a29不會,別喚沙彌。』仰云:『且喜師弟會祖師禪也。』諸仁者!J36nB352_p0532a30你看古人入道機緣徹骨徹髓,非是將錯就錯,妄定J36nB352_p0532b01是非。古云:『不得一番寒徹骨,怎得梅花噴鼻香?』然上J36nB352_p0532b02古聖人如是作,歷代祖師如是行,今日山僧亦如是J36nB352_p0532b03用,未曾殊異,要在諸人徹底窮來窮去,所謂窮則變,J36nB352_p0532b04變則通。倘窮到變通處,老僧更要與諸人覓通變在。J36nB352_p0532b05且道如何是通變處?」良久,云:「看取下文。」
J36nB352_p0532b06小參。師舉:「雲門云:『向你諸人道:「直下無事,早是相埋J36nB352_p0532b07沒了也。」』老僧自領烏藤,欲談幾句之乎也者,何更土J36nB352_p0532b08上加泥、空裏掘洞?到這裏,千聖有無量辨才也啟口J36nB352_p0532b09不得、祖師具全體大用也施設不得,老僧不覺臉厚J36nB352_p0532b10畫蛇,更要添足。若是具真實超方眼、有真實過量見,J36nB352_p0532b11將三藏靈文猶如故紙,千七葛藤恰似爛索,失口道J36nB352_p0532b12著佛字,嘔吐三朝;錯聽說個祖字,耳聾七日。」遂呵呵J36nB352_p0532b13大笑,云:「老僧即今青天白日開眼說夢。」
