J34nB311_p0621c08師據座,良久,云:「會麼?雲巖不著便,洞山邈不真,誰知J34nB311_p0621c09親入蒼龍窟?儼然臨水影,頓省定盤星,何如吹滅瞎J34nB311_p0621c10驢眼?居士於此薦得,則能不與萬法為侶,一口吸盡J34nB311_p0621c11西江,直得赤身拶入大好山,應見東苑花獨秀,又何J34nB311_p0621c12讓他龐老銕船浮水、韻徹青霄也哉?會麼?當機展出J34nB311_p0621c13娘生手,好把旃檀日夕燒。」
覺悟老宿請於毘盧閣為弟子祝髮授戒小參
J34nB311_p0621c15「毘盧頂上高拂吹毛,古佛殿前橫鏟荒艸,直下揜耳J34nB311_p0621c16而去,鐘聲已掛七條,更能坐斷聖僧,愈見天然有在。J34nB311_p0621c17雖則如是,果要高高峰頂立、深深海底行,閨閤中物J34nB311_p0621c18一毫捨不盡,未免成滲漏去。至於向上向下,大有事J34nB311_p0621c19在。到遮裏,直須拔足荊棘林、轉身明白地,始堪來討J34nB311_p0621c20我底棒喫。」
黃檗山乙亥主楚龍湖小參
J34nB311_p0621c22師云:「峰巒峭異,鶴不停棲,靈鳳無依,獨翀宵漢。且道J34nB311_p0621c23是何人境界?」以如意畫破,云:「會麼?大煞天然,漆桶不J34nB311_p0621c24快;太煞淆訛,野狐作怪。真機不發,枉匿死生;正眼不J34nB311_p0621c25開,徒償業債。秪如真機如何得發?正眼如何得開?」復J34nB311_p0621c26舉如意,云:「大眾!看看!如意子𨁝跳上三十三天,觸著J34nB311_p0621c27帝釋鼻孔,十殿閻王打一鐵棒,怒氣不禁,直得南山J34nB311_p0621c28起雲,北山下雨,黃檗山上月白風清,法眼寺中紅爐J34nB311_p0621c29飛雪。會麼?」良久,顧視大眾,云:「隴上梅花開也未?我將J34nB311_p0621c30先寄有心人。」
李太宰有書到山小參
J34nB311_p0622a02師振尺,云:「天開治象,誰得太平先聲?」眾無語。師復云:J34nB311_p0622a03「彩毫現出人間喜,靈鷲啣來天上春。會麼?太宰書云:J34nB311_p0622a04『聖主宵衣,惻然下詔,普天之下,重滌肺腸。試問我諸J34nB311_p0622a05法王子,法戰亦有何消息耶?』」乃以手加額作望勢,云:J34nB311_p0622a06「月似彎弓,少雨多風,半鉤猶有三星拱,大地山河掩J34nB311_p0622a07映中。」復振尺,云:「珍重。」
夜參
J34nB311_p0622a09師舉:「昔日長慶禪師悟道頌云:『萬象之中獨露身,要J34nB311_p0622a10人自肯乃方親。昔時謬向途中覓,今日方知火裏冰。』J34nB311_p0622a11大眾!其中有自肯者麼?且道:如何是火裏冰聻?獨露J34nB311_p0622a12身是。如何是獨露身聻?火裏冰是。獨露身與火裏冰J34nB311_p0622a13是同是別?你大眾各自簡點看。」眾下語不契,師乃云:J34nB311_p0622a14「古人云:『承言須會宗。』不是亂統說得。如實不會宗旨,J34nB311_p0622a15但將自己痛切處出求決擇,發問不起,便好痛自討J34nB311_p0622a16箇落處,不可捏怪造語,熱鬧人耳目也。我要人各各J34nB311_p0622a17發明自己本分事,然後始有酬唱分。你看自己本分J34nB311_p0622a18上還容得三藏十二部底元字腳麼?還容得一千七J34nB311_p0622a19百底公案麼?還容得生死涅槃種種名相麼?還容得J34nB311_p0622a20成佛作祖底道理麼?若皆容不得,如何佛祖又設了J34nB311_p0622a21許多機緣聻?你試仔細自看,從無始來在那裏安身J34nB311_p0622a22立命,得恁麼堅密?從十二類中受了許多磨折,如何J34nB311_p0622a23還有我遮箇?你如何反不自知聻?你若向遮裏直下J34nB311_p0622a24看透,方許你聊通一線,方許你判斷古今機緣。如自J34nB311_p0622a25己尚不知自己落處,強欲分別古今之事,何異狂狗J34nB311_p0622a26逐塊乎?」僧問:「狗子有佛性也無?」師云:「你有佛性也無?」J34nB311_p0622a27進云:「萬法歸一,一歸何處?」師云:「那箇教你恁麼問?」進J34nB311_p0622a28云:「不知。」師云:「我遮裏棒不輕打人底。」乃云:「各各立地,J34nB311_p0622a29欠箇甚麼?莫向別人討好,別人豈有剩物與人?我不J34nB311_p0622a30要你參佛祖禪,只要你參取你自己本分事。果有,生J34nB311_p0622b01死可了也無;果有,佛祖禪道也無。參透了,始知我不J34nB311_p0622b02肯輕欺你也。噫!可惜了遮一對好明燭,孤負了遮一J34nB311_p0622b03瓶好蓮花。」僧向前提起花瓶便行,師云:「提起那裏去?」J34nB311_p0622b04僧云:「請和尚歸方丈。」師叱云:「你偏好恁麼捏怪。」
堂中小參
J34nB311_p0622b06師方坐次,恒鑒問云:「雜念紛飛時如何?」師云:「放下著。」J34nB311_p0622b07進云:「一念不生時如何?」師云:「提起著。」進云:「如何行履J34nB311_p0622b08不犯國王水艸?」師以如意畫一畫,云:「截斷路頭著。」鑒J34nB311_p0622b09無語,師云:「會麼?」進云:「不會。」師乃云:「大眾立地自看,畢J34nB311_p0622b10竟是箇甚麼?得恁麼難見難會?也須是親向其中逼J34nB311_p0622b11拶到無可逼拶處始有自肯分,所謂萬古碧潭空界J34nB311_p0622b12月,再三撈摝始應知。秪如我遮如意子,若不是真的J34nB311_p0622b13識得,如何要提起即提起、要放下即放下、要截斷凡J34nB311_p0622b14聖路頭即截斷凡聖路頭、要殺即殺、要活即活?蓋繇J34nB311_p0622b15我知得、用得,始不為他所欺也。不然,總是業識忙忙,J34nB311_p0622b16有何可據?如人自己不知自己鼻孔,向人曰:『我有鼻J34nB311_p0622b17孔、我無鼻孔、我即有即無鼻孔、我非即有非即無鼻J34nB311_p0622b18孔。』此豈真知鼻孔也哉?若果一朝親自摸得,始信從J34nB311_p0622b19前皆是自己妄想顛倒也。故從上佛祖出世種種方J34nB311_p0622b20便,無非助人發機,使人自求自己落處;一朝親見,始J34nB311_p0622b21知佛祖無實法與人也。如當時慈明偕諸同志於兵J34nB311_p0622b22戈中混為廝養,直造汾州參無德昭禪師,昭知彼中J34nB311_p0622b23有大法器,更不為彼說法,一味以世諦㛱媟之事以J34nB311_p0622b24毒發其毒業,密置於烈燄猛鎚之中,直要煆盡他無J34nB311_p0622b25始習氣命根,然後始知臨濟之道迥出常流也。所以,J34nB311_p0622b26大愚芝密激雲峰悅、葉縣省煆煉浮山遠,皆非常手J34nB311_p0622b27眼。近世學處不玄、師宗不玅,類以死語、死法接人,如J34nB311_p0622b28按牛頭喫艸,令無傷人舉哀,又安得有真性情之激J34nB311_p0622b29烈哉?今日參學之弊,皆是參言語文字禪,非參了生J34nB311_p0622b30脫死禪;皆是參知解機鋒禪,非參見性明心禪。所以,J34nB311_p0622c01秪圖說得、頌得、心意識卜度得,更不求身心性命落J34nB311_p0622c02處畢竟如何始了生脫死也。雖然如是,直須知有三J34nB311_p0622c03種喫緊事始得:一要痛惜光陰,不可蹉誤;一要依止J34nB311_p0622c04師友,恐墮迷途;一要親自痛切,始有生機。所謂『欲知J34nB311_p0622c05佛法,當觀時節因緣;時節若至,其理自彰。』然此時節J34nB311_p0622c06因緣不是自肯自切,雖遇佛祖現前,安得有啄啐同J34nB311_p0622c07時之機用哉?是以,佛祖出世百千方便亦不過為此J34nB311_p0622c08肯切二字著力耳。肯切二字即是你話頭、即是你疑J34nB311_p0622c09情、即是你發機、即是你入路、即是你百千三昧法門、J34nB311_p0622c10即是出生死取心性之金剛王寶劍,從始至終、超凡J34nB311_p0622c11越聖,直是此肯切二字。你若肯切,三世佛祖也沒奈J34nB311_p0622c12你何;你若不肯切,三世佛祖亦不奈你何。何故聻?把手J34nB311_p0622c13教他行不得,要人自肯乃方親。予有何言哉?」
夜參
J34nB311_p0622c15眾請師堂中小參,陳司寇公偕入,禮拜坐次,建幢問:J34nB311_p0622c16「眾手淘金,誰是得者?」師云:「直公牙齒疼。」進云:「寒暑煎J34nB311_p0622c17逼,學人向何處迴避?」師云:「去著。」幢禮拜而退。師曰:「昔J34nB311_p0622c18富鄭公見投子顒禪師陞座,顒舉目作象王回顧勢,J34nB311_p0622c19富公特地有省,及下座,隨入方丈,顒見公即勵聲曰:J34nB311_p0622c20『相公已入室,富弼還在門外。』公直得汗下。」師曰:「秪如J34nB311_p0622c21陳司寇公昨日從刀兵中來,為箇甚麼聻?我道公已J34nB311_p0622c22入堂,汝等還在門外,其中亦有出白汗者麼?」覺空問:J34nB311_p0622c23「渠無國土,何處逢渠?」師曰:「大光明中,那容罔兩?」進云:J34nB311_p0622c24「恁麼則請和尚歸方丈。」師曰:「要且不見我在。」司寇公J34nB311_p0622c25問:「昔有何心隱講學時,張江陵相公忽來,耿天臺出J34nB311_p0622c26接入,何不起座揖手?」曰:「方外人不為禮。」張公曰:「你見J34nB311_p0622c27在方內,如何說方外?適大師謂某在堂內,諸人在堂J34nB311_p0622c28外,何也?」師哂曰:「公猶作堂外會那?」公曰:「元無內外。」師J34nB311_p0622c29曰:「公只今在那裏?」公曰:「在遮裏向火。」師曰:「尚隔一案J34nB311_p0622c30在。」公曰:「師只今是坐?是立?」師展兩手示之,復曰:「善財J34nB311_p0623a01於玅高峰為甚麼不見德雲,乃向別峰相見?」公無語,J34nB311_p0623a02師曰:「眾中還有道得者麼?」覺空出禮拜,師曰:「鷂子過J34nB311_p0623a03新羅也。」陳公又問:「撥盡寒爐,如何愈撥愈不見一星J34nB311_p0623a04子?」師曰:「火燄正滔天。」公無語,師曰:「大眾!切弗回頭轉J34nB311_p0623a05腦,燒卻眉毛也。」建幢云:「和尚向何處迴避?」師呵呵大J34nB311_p0623a06笑,曰:「我即熱勝婆羅門也。」幢曰:「莫瞞人好。」師曰:「癡者J34nB311_p0623a07自癡,懞者自懞。」因有輕出問話者,陳公云:「今蒙大師J34nB311_p0623a08直指,如金剛王劍著著斬人知見,正為不肖輩因病J34nB311_p0623a09下藥,不與尋常接引人也。如大師欲因機利導,不妨J34nB311_p0623a10說他人話;我輩參學,只須說自己話。若也說他人話,J34nB311_p0623a11便失自己參學事也。」師曰:「古人欲直下發明自己事,J34nB311_p0623a12決不隨人語脈所轉。若是信口領略,與本分有甚相J34nB311_p0623a13干?」復舉:「杜順大師『懷州牛喫禾,益州馬腹脹,遍界覓J34nB311_p0623a14醫人,炙豬左膊上』;及傅大士『空手把鉏頭,步行騎水J34nB311_p0623a15牛,人從橋上過,橋流水不流』二頌;及皓布褌,將諸佛J34nB311_p0623a16名號寫褲上,有人效之,立得惡報。皓嘗謂:『杜、傅二頌J34nB311_p0623a17秪明得法身邊事,尚未明法身向上事。』因示眾曰:『昨J34nB311_p0623a18夜雨滂滂,打倒葡萄棚,知事叫行人,拄底拄,撐底撐,J34nB311_p0623a19撐撐拄拄到天明,依舊可憐生。若於此薦得,始知有J34nB311_p0623a20向上事。』」師復曰:「向上事且置,且道如何是法身邊事?」J34nB311_p0623a21良久,喝一喝,便歸方丈。
丙子到峨峰小參
J34nB311_p0623a23師良久,策起眉毛云:「見麼?某甲曾親見峨峰和尚來,J34nB311_p0623a24莫道今日始到此中也。秪如蹋斷千峰,轉身就父,更J34nB311_p0623a25將箇甚麼呈似諸法親聻?」乃舉如意云:「噫!無影枝頭J34nB311_p0623a26凝玉露,滴滴能開五葉花。」
壽昌小參
J34nB311_p0623a28師入堂坐定,召云:「大眾!是甚麼?」良久,云:「莫被人瞞好。」J34nB311_p0623a29復良久,云:「還有一箇不受人瞞底麼?」復良久,云:「動著J34nB311_p0623a30即三十棒。」眾無語,師乃起身縱步一匝而立。項佩日J34nB311_p0623b01出,從東過西、從西過東。師云:「誰恁麼穿堂直過?」佩掩J34nB311_p0623b02耳歸位,師云:「苕帚柄聊與三十。」佩云:「和尚莫瞞人好。」J34nB311_p0623b03師云:「隨人腳跟轉,有甚麼來繇?」進云:「請和尚歸方丈。」J34nB311_p0623b04師云:「遮裏沒有你開口處。」進云:「和尚也不可道破。」師J34nB311_p0623b05云:「是你耳聾。」佩一喝,師咄,云:「你遮野干。」進云:「過在甚J34nB311_p0623b06麼處?」師云:「罪不重科。」佩云:「恁麼則折角泥牛翻白浪,J34nB311_p0623b07衝開海底起紅煙。」師云:「還叫喚那?」乃云:「一堂風冷淡,J34nB311_p0623b08千古意分明,秪為分明極,翻成八不成。且道如何得J34nB311_p0623b09十成去?」顧視,云:「也須仔細始得。」遂歸方丈。
堂中小參
J34nB311_p0623b11「過去心已過去,電光石火杳難追;未來心又未來,兔J34nB311_p0623b12角龜毛挑不出;現在心雖現在,水月鏡花爭摸捉?良J34nB311_p0623b13以昏沉成國土、散亂作眾生,釋迦從無始劫刻畫晦J34nB311_p0623b14昧之空、彌勒盡末後際鉤鎖色雜之妄,仔細簡點將J34nB311_p0623b15來,大是開眼作夢。秪如今日壽昌又教人參究箇甚J34nB311_p0623b16麼?雖然如是,肯心未許,難清業惑之狂;倒想不除,誰J34nB311_p0623b17享本來之玅?且道作麼生參究得肯心自許去?一語J34nB311_p0623b18頓消千古恨,自教天下免干戈。」良久,復曰:「堂中連日J34nB311_p0623b19亦有省發與有疑情者麼?」首座擬開口,師大喝,曰:「看J34nB311_p0623b20劍!」便起座曰:「大眾有疑,出來問。」師以如意驀頭便打,J34nB311_p0623b21曰:「頭落也不知。」
小參
J34nB311_p0623b23「一性融通一切性,文殊莫出女子定。一法遍舍一切J34nB311_p0623b24法,罔明彈指便超脫。一身普現一切身,瞿曇弄假卻J34nB311_p0623b25成真。一命永證一切命,坐斷聖凡行正令。性法身命J34nB311_p0623b26曾無別,日可冷兮月可熱。不是死中得活人,誰能解J34nB311_p0623b27此問心結?遮箇結,甚奇絕。饒是德山托缽與巖頭雪J34nB311_p0623b28峰,遮般毒口蛇心,畢竟三人證龜不成鱉。」
小參
J34nB311_p0623b30僧問:「德山小參不答話,和尚今夜還答話否?」師云:「把J34nB311_p0623c01髺投衙。」進云:「昨夜不期山上雨,滿溪流出落花香。」師J34nB311_p0623c02云:「擔枷過狀趕出去。」進云:「行行不借雙關路,鉤鎖從J34nB311_p0623c03教直下拋。」師云:「罪不重科。」進云:「採葉弗將題姓字,恐J34nB311_p0623c04隨流水到人間。」遂禮拜,師云:「一箇大禪堂,兩邊列長J34nB311_p0623c05床,一箇聖僧一爐香,日有日光、夜有夜光,三時粥飯J34nB311_p0623c06叮噹響、四時止靜響叮噹,一任剔起眉毛、豎著脊梁、J34nB311_p0623c07捏緊拳頭、釘定腳樁,你要行也不妨、立也不妨、坐也J34nB311_p0623c08不妨、臥也不妨,只有一事汝等也須仔細承當。且道J34nB311_p0623c09承當箇甚麼?」良久,云:「黃連樹上出生薑。」復顧眾,云:「是J34nB311_p0623c10事且置,只如汝等久在此中,畢竟于自己分上事作J34nB311_p0623c11麼生?」僧答語狂亂,師切齒痛責,云:「汝等在此所為何J34nB311_p0623c12事?肯自欺瞞,作此大妄誑語。汝等正如新官上任,一J34nB311_p0623c13等無賴之徒偏去告哄狀,考問將來,何曾有一點真J34nB311_p0623c14情?若遇清正之官,豈容汝如此奸偽?是必處汝以重J34nB311_p0623c15法也。知麼?況從上古人出世,種種施設無非欲使人J34nB311_p0623c16發明本分大事,如有對頭人閉門在屋裏坐,有人必J34nB311_p0623c17欲與彼主人相見一回,或用瓦子敲其門、或用石用J34nB311_p0623c18木、用棒用喝、或叫喚其名、或好言誘引、或惡口罵詈、J34nB311_p0623c19或投名刺、或傳書柬、或親抵其門、或差官擒捉、或圍J34nB311_p0623c20屋搜拿,種種施設不過要他屋裏主人相見一回便J34nB311_p0623c21了,何曾有實法哉?是故,古人或良久默默、或揚眉瞬J34nB311_p0623c22目、或拈鎚豎拂、或打鼓吹毛,百般拈弄,正打傍敲,全J34nB311_p0623c23機密用,亦無非欲人發明自己主人本命元辰,一回J34nB311_p0623c24親見便了,豈可執定一法為何如乎?然古人師資相J34nB311_p0623c25求,皆是一段真實心、不欺誑心、不瞞昧心,始得機教J34nB311_p0623c26相投,針炙中病,不是妄呈妖異,互相惑亂也。汝不見J34nB311_p0623c27世人欲聽響卜與祈神夢者乎?亦必齋明盛服,端肅J34nB311_p0623c28身心,或求功名,或求子息,或求貨財,或求仕進,必須J34nB311_p0623c29明告其心,謹白其事,以我精氣合神人之精氣,以我J34nB311_p0623c30靈機動神人之靈機,始得感應道交,朕兆發見。雖其J34nB311_p0624a01言似吉似凶、似好似惡,當下不可測度,及其機緣時J34nB311_p0624a02至,明彰較著,毫髮不爽,乃知神人不我欺也。又有一J34nB311_p0624a03等欺心罔聖之徒,不畏鬼神,恣行奸偽,每欲托夢於J34nB311_p0624a04神人,而神人安肯授汝之正夢哉?即使神人授以屎J34nB311_p0624a05尿,令彼食啖,而彼心亦自知其為惡。或有問之,乃佯J34nB311_p0624a06為大喜曰:『昨夜夢神君延我明堂,揖我上座,奉我以J34nB311_p0624a07如意之珠,贈我以彩毫之筆,懽喜褎讚,而慰諭我將J34nB311_p0624a08來有大顯貴,有大受用,此必他日有靈驗乎?』世間癡J34nB311_p0624a09人聞其神人待彼如此,是必大顯貴也,乃為捧擁奉J34nB311_p0624a10承,無所不至矣。嗚呼!如此等人,豈非天地間之大妖J34nB311_p0624a11孽、大奸險,天地鬼神之必誅戮者哉?彼自以為得計,J34nB311_p0624a12又安知惡不積不足以滅身乎?噫!慎之,慎之!生死海J34nB311_p0624a13中不能奮然自出者,正以自欺自昧、自沉自沒,不受J34nB311_p0624a14人之提拔也。誰奈之何!誰奈之何!」
為福山大眾授記早參
J34nB311_p0624a16師陞座,為大眾命名畢,黃司理問云:「真佛無名,為甚J34nB311_p0624a17麼安名立字?」師云:「聖聖相傳,緣生無性。」進云:「天上無J34nB311_p0624a18彌勒,地下無彌勒,且道誰與安名?」師舉手云:「謝居士J34nB311_p0624a19好箇問頭。」進云:「靈山一會,儼然未散。」師合掌云:「我不J34nB311_p0624a20敢輕於汝等,汝等皆已作佛。」公便禮拜,師下座。
塔樓峰小參
J34nB311_p0624a22師云:「會麼?雨打虛空溼,自愁無曬㫰,急敲石火烘,汗J34nB311_p0624a23滴龜毛上。遮一滴,西天東土真消息。」
匡山圓通夜參
J34nB311_p0624a25「藏舟於壑,藏山於澤,夜半有力者負之而趨,其昧昧J34nB311_p0624a26者渾不知也,又安知藏天下於天下,旦能握其機乎?J34nB311_p0624a27其機是甚麼人能握?」良久,云:「崑崙騎象藕絲御,就裏J34nB311_p0624a28抽牽意自殊。」
除夕小參
J34nB311_p0624a30師卓拄杖,云:「百丈大師云:『今朝臘月三十日到來,大J34nB311_p0624b01眾作麼生折合去?』」僧問:「年盡、月盡、日盡、時盡,恰好一J34nB311_p0624b02句,請師速道。」師云:「爆天驚碎五須彌。」進云:「馬耳峰高J34nB311_p0624b03雲不斷,一溪流水古今然。」師云:「劃斷千峰更許誰?」進J34nB311_p0624b04云:「等閒識得東風面,萬紫千紅總是春。」師云:「太早生。」J34nB311_p0624b05師復云:「同門出入,夙世冤家,末後牢關,如何透脫?透J34nB311_p0624b06與不透,今日總要向圓通手裏乞命。」眾無對。師云:「會J34nB311_p0624b07麼?抽刀不入鞘,萬里髑髏寒。」卓拄杖,入方丈。

J34nB311_p0624b09師入堂,眾禮拜,立定。師良久,云:「正當與麼時何如?」復J34nB311_p0624b10云:「剔起眉毛。」復云:「立定腳跟。」復云:「是甚麼?」復云:「動著J34nB311_p0624b11三十棒。」復云:「還有入得虎穴者麼?還有下得龍潭者J34nB311_p0624b12麼?還有登得刀山者麼?還有上得劍樹者麼?」復云:「動J34nB311_p0624b13著喪身失命。」復云:「是甚麼得恁麼利害聻?直須向遮J34nB311_p0624b14裏透過,始得消此業識、始得了此生死。」復云:「萬古碧J34nB311_p0624b15潭空界月,再三撈摝始應知。」有僧欲出問,師曰:「若要J34nB311_p0624b16我說破,須啞卻我口;若要你領會,須壞卻你心。畢竟J34nB311_p0624b17作麼生?不許夜行剛把火,大家吹滅暗中行。」良久,復J34nB311_p0624b18云:「到遮裏雖則忍氣吞聲,必須得箇出身活路始得。J34nB311_p0624b19不然,自欺自陷,又爭怪得山僧?大眾!須猛力斬截你J34nB311_p0624b20自心上底偷心活路與向外馳求底心,則單刀直入,J34nB311_p0624b21不顧危亡,殺出生死重圍,始保你有箇出身活路、始J34nB311_p0624b22保你有箇完全性命。猛之,猛之!毋自失誤。」
除夕小參
J34nB311_p0624b24「末後一句始透牢關。今當臘月三十夜,汝等諸人作J34nB311_p0624b25麼生折合去?」良久,云:「若在遮裏透去,始有轉身吐氣J34nB311_p0624b26分。不然,如世間人到今夜業債纏身,安能自繇自在J34nB311_p0624b27而結此局?汝等既于此參究,果於本分上透得生死、J34nB311_p0624b28聖凡、善惡、苦樂底心境麼?若透不得,則妄想顛倒,將J34nB311_p0624b29法身流轉五道,無有已時,何日折合得去?直饒如靜J34nB311_p0624b30夜鐘聲、寒潭月影,猶是生死岸頭事;直饒你因果歷J34nB311_p0624c01然,不落不昧,亦未脫得野狐身;直饒一絲不挂,徹底J34nB311_p0624c02無依,如萬里無雲,青天也須喫棒;直饒四至分明,中J34nB311_p0624c03心樹子不得為我動著,正是垛生招箭,未免爭端;直J34nB311_p0624c04饒破衲蒙頭萬事休,此時一切都不會遮,瞌睡漢正J34nB311_p0624c05好爛熟打醒,推出門去。秪如到恁麼田地,在我遮裏J34nB311_p0624c06尚折合不得,況生死業識未空、聖凡情境未透,又如J34nB311_p0624c07何免得閻家老子考較哉?秪如在山僧今夜,又如何J34nB311_p0624c08處分此參禪事?如軍國之事,必須考其虛實,或有血J34nB311_p0624c09戰汗馬之勞、或有復土開疆之績,然後享士椎牛,論J34nB311_p0624c10功行賞。今到遮裏,總無甚功績可見,何有北禪之牛J34nB311_p0624c11可烹?何有曹山之酒可飲?何有禾山之鼓可打?何有J34nB311_p0624c12德嶠之歌可唱以冒昧法喜哉?雖然如是,不可一例J34nB311_p0624c13抹殺。我靈谷今日結制已至半期,肯自施功於無用J34nB311_p0624c14之地乎?若欲珍重其事,且放過諸人一著。秪如山僧J34nB311_p0624c15自己為人處又作麼生折合去聻?路逢死蛇莫打殺,J34nB311_p0624c16無底籃子盛將歸。」
甲申徑山堂中小參
J34nB311_p0624c18師顧云:「還有上天無路、入地無門、無棲泊、無奈何者J34nB311_p0624c19麼?此正是汝等放身捨命去處。」僧出禮拜,師便打。僧J34nB311_p0624c20云:「六橋俱斷時如何?」師打云:「還斷不斷?」僧又進語,師J34nB311_p0624c21又打云:「你又捏怪作麼?」連打退,復云:「若要急切打發,J34nB311_p0624c22直須拼卻性命始得。山僧今日見《磬山錄》中有示眾,J34nB311_p0624c23舉:『雪峰問僧:「甚麼處來?」僧云:「浙中。」峰云:「船來?陸來?」僧J34nB311_p0624c24云:「二途俱不涉。」』徑山看到遮裏,謂雪峰行棒已遲也。J34nB311_p0624c25『峰云:「爭得到遮裏?」僧云:「有甚麼隔礙?」峰打趁出去。僧J34nB311_p0624c26過十年後再來。』徑山道:遮僧又來,是甚麼心行?『峰又J34nB311_p0624c27問:「甚處來?」僧云:「湖南。」峰云:「湖南與遮裏相去多少?」僧J34nB311_p0624c28云:「不隔。」』徑山道:遮裏虧了雪峰,又放過他。『峰豎起拂J34nB311_p0624c29子云:「還隔遮箇麼?」僧云:「若隔即不到也。」峰又打趁出。』J34nB311_p0624c30徑山道:天下參學人往往向遮裏打失眼睛。此僧往J34nB311_p0625a01後凡見人便罵雪峰,徑山到遮裏卻疑著遮僧得恁J34nB311_p0625a02麼痛入骨髓。『那一日有同行者聞之,特去訪,乃問:「兄J34nB311_p0625a03到雪峰有何言句便如是罵?」』徑山道:遮僧果的親見J34nB311_p0625a04雪峰來遮裏,便好與雪峰報冤,以一頓痛棒將同行J34nB311_p0625a05打出,豈不勝於痛罵哉?『他遂舉前話,乃被同行詬叱J34nB311_p0625a06與他說破。』徑山云:卻反被人坑陷。『遮僧乃自悲泣,嘗J34nB311_p0625a07向中夜焚香向雪峰遙禮。』徑山道:遮裏更是坑殺人。J34nB311_p0625a08磬山云:『雪峰老漢行其正令,遮一條白棒不添德山J34nB311_p0625a09之風,可惜當時不遇其人,重重蹉過。遮僧既不憚勞J34nB311_p0625a10苦,撥艸瞻風,何其鹵莽以至如斯?及遇同參通箇消J34nB311_p0625a11息,悔之晚矣。』雖然,此猶是君子禪也。若是今時不服J34nB311_p0625a12善者,寧招謗法之愆,永無悲泣之事,可見今人不如J34nB311_p0625a13古人多矣。大凡參學須自具眼目,莫當面蹉過,以貽J34nB311_p0625a14後日之悔。今日有新到者麼?」眾無語,乃復頌云:「憧憧J34nB311_p0625a15往返隔千山,覿面相承與話難,不得知音痛呵叱,到J34nB311_p0625a16頭終是一顢頇。」師云:「大眾!汝等還見磬山和尚今日J34nB311_p0625a17特地痛相錐拶麼?所謂大事未明,如喪考妣,同門出J34nB311_p0625a18入,夙世冤家。汝等真箇為己躬事,肯如此僧頭頭痛J34nB311_p0625a19切乎?真箇為生死心切,必須不顧性命,始有透脫一J34nB311_p0625a20路。徑山亦有一頌好生聽取:父母之仇不共天,提刀J34nB311_p0625a21必報此深冤,忽然撞著真頭對,性命元來不值錢。眾J34nB311_p0625a22中還有性命不值錢者麼?出來為雪峰與遮僧雪屈。」J34nB311_p0625a23眾無語,師擲下拄杖良久,一僧拈起遞與師,師接過J34nB311_p0625a24便打,僧云:「和尚打某甲作麼?」師又打,云:「你是那箇?」眾J34nB311_p0625a25俱禮拜,師云:「放過即不可。」一齊打赦而出。
堂中小參
J34nB311_p0625a27「參學須先有箇痛切心、傷感心,如雪恥報仇底人,始J34nB311_p0625a28能斬截生死,頓明心性。不見德山號周金剛,為蜀中J34nB311_p0625a29義虎,聞南方有直指人心成佛之說,乃謂:『魔鬼!子敢J34nB311_p0625a30自妄言,吾當往摟其巢穴,滅其種類,以報佛恩。』遮箇J34nB311_p0625b01便是能與佛祖為生死冤家者也。及遇婆子買點心,J34nB311_p0625b02被他問:『《金剛經》以三心不可得,上座要點那箇心?』直J34nB311_p0625b03下便打折了金剛擔子矣。若是如今弄虛頭禪客,便J34nB311_p0625b04好劈面一掌,或推倒點心架子去,何肯輕放過他?此J34nB311_p0625b05古人不親見得,決不肯自欺也。乃到龍潭,正以不見J34nB311_p0625b06自己落處,問云:『久嚮龍潭,及乎到來,潭既不見,龍又J34nB311_p0625b07不現。』龍潭不合為他下註腳曰:『子親到龍潭。』若是今J34nB311_p0625b08人,便拍盲領會曰:『不見處,便是我親見也。』即死在他J34nB311_p0625b09語下瞎弄將去,又安肯必須親自見得乎?於是乃親J34nB311_p0625b10依龍潭。一夜,因接紙燭,驀被潭吹滅,乃大悟曰:『從今J34nB311_p0625b11不被天下老和尚瞞也。』以故龍潭大稱之曰:『可中有J34nB311_p0625b12箇漢,牙如利劍,口似血盆,於孤峰頂上呵佛罵祖去J34nB311_p0625b13在。』使德山當時無摟人巢穴、滅人種類之痛心,到此J34nB311_p0625b14焉能為婆子摟其巢穴,又為龍潭滅其種類,而立地J34nB311_p0625b15如獅子之出窟、寶劍之揮空乎?此皆其痛心、傷心、不J34nB311_p0625b16欺心之所致也,又豈別有參禪之法乎?又如臨濟亦J34nB311_p0625b17無別參禪法,只是一箇不肯自欺,當三遭痛棒,不得J34nB311_p0625b18㘞地痛快,終不肯妄意領略,必須於大愚言下頓悟J34nB311_p0625b19老婆心切,然後得大痛快,始能於黃檗面上捋虎鬚J34nB311_p0625b20也。是彼何曾因參玄要、賓主、人境、照用而後始頓悟J34nB311_p0625b21哉?佗大徹後得座披衣,自解作活而生擒活捉,天下J34nB311_p0625b22英雄全是遮些子鋒芒,彼又何曾以死語、死法繫綴J34nB311_p0625b23於人乎?今人皮下無血,無為生死心,不去本分上一J34nB311_p0625b24口咬斷,卻如狂狗逐塊咬他語言文字、道理機鋒以J34nB311_p0625b25為參禪,真箇掩彩殺人,如何得到德山、臨濟底大用?J34nB311_p0625b26不見古人頌他:『一拳拳倒黃鶴樓,一踢踢翻鸚鵡洲,J34nB311_p0625b27有意氣時增意氣,不風流處亦風流。』蓋從上諸祖只J34nB311_p0625b28是與人助得發機,如放大銃砲相似,你腹中無許多J34nB311_p0625b29猛烈火藥,我雖有火引,如何點發其驚天動地之勢?J34nB311_p0625b30你果有古人如此痛憤傷感,自能觸發得大徹大悟J34nB311_p0625c01也。只此一箇痛憤感傷,便是撥亂反正、定國安邦之J34nB311_p0625c02真作略也。」乃喝一喝而起。
振宗傑禪人為父鄭仲翁五旬請小參
J34nB311_p0625c04「頂天履地,須知身自何來?立意成人,應識本之所在。J34nB311_p0625c05識本於一念未生之前,則生死聖凡全機超越;知身J34nB311_p0625c06於父母正生之際,則世間出世當體圓明。所謂識心J34nB311_p0625c07達本源,是則為沙門,豈尋嘗之所能哉?今日是大傑J34nB311_p0625c08禪人生父鄭仲翁知命之辰,自念少入空宗,未酬罔J34nB311_p0625c09極,特求徑山為父母授記,命名大高、大厚,蓋欲報其J34nB311_p0625c10雙親如覆載也。秪如傑禪人在浙,其父親在蜀,不啻J34nB311_p0625c11數千里之隔,況此身心本不相代,如何能使其父增J34nB311_p0625c12此慧命?若于此有箇透露,乃知天地與我同根、萬物J34nB311_p0625c13與我一體,豈有骨肉天性不可以當體感通?雖然,更J34nB311_p0625c14須知吾宗別有不傳之旨。昔僧問曹山:『子歸就父,如J34nB311_p0625c15何父全不顧?』山云:『理合如是。』僧云:『何成父子之恩?』山J34nB311_p0625c16云:『始成父子之恩。』僧云:『如何是父子之恩?』山云:『刀斧J34nB311_p0625c17砍不開。』諸仁者!你看他古人敲唱同時,著著皆是親J34nB311_p0625c18悟親證,若非全機超越,安見得有斧斫不開之玅密J34nB311_p0625c19乎?乃說偈曰:祖父從來不出門,兒孫得力始為尊,了J34nB311_p0625c20知斧斫不開處,厚地高天共報恩。」
丁亥報恩結制堂中小參
J34nB311_p0625c22良久,云:「正當恁麼時,何如杖人性命在汝諸人手裏?J34nB311_p0625c23汝諸人性命在杖人手裏?我要與你生,作麼得同我J34nB311_p0625c24生?我要與你死,作麼得同我死?直饒能同我生、同我J34nB311_p0625c25死,我要與你打箇開交,你又作麼得同我打箇開交?」J34nB311_p0625c26擊竹篦子,云:「點即不到。」復擊竹篦,云:「到即不點,度刃J34nB311_p0625c27衝流,雷揮電卷,到遮裏也須是拼得性命底絕後重J34nB311_p0625c28甦,始許他通此消息。」復舉:「僧問趙州:『狗子有佛性也J34nB311_p0625c29無?』州云:『無。』『忽然絕後甦來又作麼生?』復云:『險。』僧問趙J34nB311_p0625c30州:『狗子有佛性也無?』州云:『有。』忽然絕後甦來又作麼J34nB311_p0626a01生?」復云:「險。僧問趙州:『如何是西來大意?』州云:『庭前柏J34nB311_p0626a02樹子。』忽然絕後甦來又作麼生?」復云:「險。僧問趙州:『萬J34nB311_p0626a03法歸一,一歸何處?』州云:『我在青州作領布衫重七斤。』J34nB311_p0626a04忽然絕後甦來又作麼生?」復云:「險。忽有箇漢聞我恁J34nB311_p0626a05麼舉,不惜性命,向前掀倒杖人禪床又作麼生?」乃拈J34nB311_p0626a06竹篦拍地,復打云:「放過即不可。」復云:「險。」拋下竹篦歸J34nB311_p0626a07方丈。遯菴隨入方丈禮拜,師擒住云:「狗子有佛性也J34nB311_p0626a08無?速道!」遯云:「道甚麼有無?」師云:「你猶作道理在,速道!」J34nB311_p0626a09遯云:「道不得。」師云:「為甚道不得?」遯云:「道不得。」師云:「你J34nB311_p0626a10為甚又道得?」遯云:「領。」師便打云:「領箇甚麼?」遯擬對,師J34nB311_p0626a11又打云:「我要你向遮裏絕後甦來,許你親見趙州。」遯J34nB311_p0626a12禮拜,師又打云:「直須向遮裏跳出始得。」師復顧出之。J34nB311_p0626a13旻昭、蓲伯、幼仁諸公云:「趙州一任道有道無,杖人不J34nB311_p0626a14許你等道有道無,別道一句來看。不然,汝等也須防J34nB311_p0626a15我杖人毒手始得。」眾禮退,遯菴即笑峰。
楊龍友監軍太夫人作五十三參會,設供請小J34nB311_p0626a17參,時天正亢忽得雨
J34nB311_p0626a18師云:「一句全提,超今越古,六種震動,吟龍嘯虎。忽爾J34nB311_p0626a19南山起雲,北山下雨,且喜點點滴滴,不落別處,與法J34nB311_p0626a20流相接,而黧奴白牯卻似知有。耕翻故園田地,使一J34nB311_p0626a21切種智得生實性淨土。盧舍那如來與十方諸佛,不J34nB311_p0626a22動寂場,坐普光明殿,卻不知有文殊、普賢及十方塵J34nB311_p0626a23剎大菩薩,各各獅子哮吼,象王起舞。誰知遮箇蓮華J34nB311_p0626a24藏世界根源,皆生於香水海中,全是遮一法雨之所J34nB311_p0626a25傅哉!善財童子承佛威神而稱讚曰:『奇哉!世尊!自我J34nB311_p0626a26一念圓明,游歷三千大千世界,乃至南詢一百餘城,J34nB311_p0626a27遍參五十三大善知識,教我觀察,若聖、若凡,若僧、若J34nB311_p0626a28俗,若男、若女,是皆稱性平等法門。自本、自枝,自花、自J34nB311_p0626a29果,乃至法身、慧命,功德、相好,眷屬、劫數,國界莊嚴,壽J34nB311_p0626a30量差等,皆是一點圓明,無今無古。』且問在會諸公曾J34nB311_p0626b01會否?樓閣重重,是誰吞吐?」

J34nB311_p0626b04「坐久卻成勞,出門又是艸,風吹瓊樹枝,紅日碎杲杲。J34nB311_p0626b05昔夾山與定山同行,言話次,定山曰:『生死中無佛即J34nB311_p0626b06無生死。』夾山曰:『生死中有佛即不迷生死。』互相不肯,J34nB311_p0626b07同上大梅山見常公,夾山便舉問:『未審二人見處那J34nB311_p0626b08箇較親?』梅曰:『一親一疏。』夾山復問:『那箇親?』梅曰:『且去,J34nB311_p0626b09明日來。』夾山明日再上問,梅曰:『親者不問,問者不親。』J34nB311_p0626b10夾山住後自云:『當時失一隻眼。』雪竇云:『當時換得一J34nB311_p0626b11雙眼。』山僧云:定山只見錐頭利,夾山不見鑿頭方,那J34nB311_p0626b12堪便問誰親?所謂一字入公門,九牛拖不出。大梅雖J34nB311_p0626b13似當斷不斷,不同德山、臨濟用事,然其陷虎之機殺J34nB311_p0626b14活有在。秪如雪竇道他換得一隻時,還有簡點得出J34nB311_p0626b15者麼?若有,亦許他換得一隻眼。」
小參
J34nB311_p0626b17「山僧今日午前寫書,午後與人說話,直得口乾舌燥,J34nB311_p0626b18到晚來幸自可憐生,無一星子事。汝等無端將那無J34nB311_p0626b19血性底死牛皮打得轟轟響,又牽引出老漢來,大家J34nB311_p0626b20攢簇做一塊生。且道:為箇甚麼事?有甚麼虧負汝等J34nB311_p0626b21處?有甚麼欺瞞汝等處?汝等又欠少箇甚麼?大家喫J34nB311_p0626b22了現成飯,問我討甚麼碗?汝等自看,大家在堂內底,J34nB311_p0626b23箇箇睜起眉毛、豎起脊梁、咬定牙關、捏緊拳頭,如尿J34nB311_p0626b24床鬼子相似,是何道理?堂外底,擔柴底擔柴、運水底J34nB311_p0626b25運水、燒火底燒火、煮飯底煮飯,你來我往,打躬作揖,J34nB311_p0626b26撐撐拄拄、忙忙憧憧,是風耶?是顛耶?做盡模樣、弄盡J34nB311_p0626b27精魂,從朝至暮畢竟是箇甚麼事?與本分上還有一J34nB311_p0626b28些交涉也無?到遮裏還用得著箇甚麼?假借人箇甚J34nB311_p0626b29麼?行住坐臥、語默動靜、穿衣喫飯、屙屎放尿,遮裏何J34nB311_p0626b30曾因人說破、借人氣力?你即不參不究,你底主人公J34nB311_p0626c01本來面目亦何曾失來?只今佛祖出世還有加損你J34nB311_p0626c02一毫來,一切語言文字、道理知見、玄玅機鋒,於你六J34nB311_p0626c03根門頭、八識心中有三毫加損也無?即汝等無始劫J34nB311_p0626c04來,不是纔得為人,三途六道、一切異類無不變弄過J34nB311_p0626c05來,何曾奈得你何?閻羅大王、牛頭阿旁,何曾奈得你J34nB311_p0626c06何?鑊湯爐炭、刀山劍樹、抽腸拔腹、碓搗磨挨,無所不J34nB311_p0626c07為,乃至披毛帶角,受盡苦楚,何曾奈得你何?直至如J34nB311_p0626c08今,依舊恰恰好好地,依舊業識茫茫地,還是你今日J34nB311_p0626c09累我?還是我今日累你?你也沒奈我何?我也沒奈你J34nB311_p0626c10何?若了,直下各自了去;不了,一任七顛八倒去。我也J34nB311_p0626c11是為他閒事長無明,徒怕虛空爛壞,與鏡花水月耽J34nB311_p0626c12憂,與夢幻泡影喫力,著甚死急?大家散去,免教特地J34nB311_p0626c13相賺誤也。」僧纔出,師便打。僧云:「此是第二等。」師連打J34nB311_p0626c14云:「一任你第三、第四、第九、第十。」僧云:「畢竟是第二等。」J34nB311_p0626c15師又連打云:「我與你第一等、上上等、無上上等,與你J34nB311_p0626c16有甚交涉?」一頓打出。又僧出云:「某甲今日謝和尚慈J34nB311_p0626c17悲。」師打云:「我有甚麼慈悲?」僧云:「打得痛快。」師又打云:J34nB311_p0626c18「有甚痛快?」復一頓打散。
戊子,太平無相寺非遠、淨修偕楊元長請小參
J34nB311_p0626c20「鼠咬頭巾破,火燒裙帶香,遮些消息子,不待更商量。J34nB311_p0626c21非遠昔來石耳峰前,正值猛虎當路;今到靈山堂上,J34nB311_p0626c22方逢毒鼓驚天。到遮裏,直須拼得性命全機拶透,始J34nB311_p0626c23有出身處。會麼?欲知急切相趨事,鞭起泥牛耕石田。」
為無可智公圓具小參
J34nB311_p0626c25師擊尺,云:「善哉!時哉!撒手不易,是誰肯上縣崖全眼?J34nB311_p0626c26用偏本于正人夙願,淅米矛頭煉成鬱刃,舍身藥樹J34nB311_p0626c27即全其天,信是本事修行,玅在藏機敝垢,將謂一笑J34nB311_p0626c28入雲中,恰好聚頭來屋裏,果然放下十八界,何須瓶J34nB311_p0626c29瀉二千酬?峰頭澥底蹈過揚塵,上律下襲同參不二,J34nB311_p0626c30且道萬世旦暮遇者如何?」乃擊尺,云:「震醒遍界了也。」
甲午主博山小參
J34nB311_p0627a02「賓頭盧尊者應阿育王齋,乃策起眉毛云:『大王!會麼?J34nB311_p0627a03我於阿耨達池龍王請佛齋亦預其數,遮箇臊鬍子J34nB311_p0627a04雖則冷面熱瞞,卻能撩人巴鼻。何如我博山座下有J34nB311_p0627a05箇老骨董,不學長汀子於十字街頭伸手乞人一文J34nB311_p0627a06錢,偏於龍象蹴蹋底腳跟下緊峭,他底艸鞋也不曾J34nB311_p0627a07放過一箇。今當從心之年,卻做些饅頭鎚子與一眾J34nB311_p0627a08橫咬豎咬,忽然咬著舌頭,乃知老骨董有紅線穿人J34nB311_p0627a09鼻孔在。』杖人不免打箇呵呵。且道笑箇甚麼?一把柳J34nB311_p0627a10絲收不得,和煙搭在玉欄杆。」

J34nB311_p0627a12「欲行奉馬,當食進鹽。王索仙陀婆,智乃在機先。鳳林J34nB311_p0627a13關鍵太密,十字街多白拈。靈龜脫殼方堪占,不卜孫J34nB311_p0627a14臏無飯錢。況乃久雨不晴,打濕眉毛,無處曬眼。只得J34nB311_p0627a15橫眸讀梵字,彈舌念真言。爭奈吹火長尖嘴,柴生滿J34nB311_p0627a16灶煙。」

J34nB311_p0627b30「聞聲悟道,見色明心。古人恁麼道,已是將白淨人綑J34nB311_p0627c01縛了,拋向糞坑裏浸殺,安能使彼橫身物外,別出殺J34nB311_p0627c02活之機?昔玄沙和尚一日見三人新到,遂自打普請J34nB311_p0627c03鼓三下,卻歸方丈。新到具威儀了,亦去打普請鼓三J34nB311_p0627c04下,卻入僧堂。久住來白沙云:『新到輕欺和尚。』沙云:『打J34nB311_p0627c05鐘集眾勘過。』眾集,新到不赴,沙令侍者去喚新到,纔J34nB311_p0627c06至法堂,卻向侍者背上拍一下云:『和尚喚你。』侍者至J34nB311_p0627c07沙處,新到便歸堂。久住乃問:『和尚何不勘新到?』沙云:J34nB311_p0627c08『我與你勘了也。』」師云:「玄沙門庭雖峻,自有高賓,其落J34nB311_p0627c09節不少,然而爐鞴之所,鈍鐵尤多。博山遮裏則不然,J34nB311_p0627c10今日亦有故人新到,一見即勘過了也,何必大驚小J34nB311_p0627c11怪,擊鼓敲鐘,於雪上加霜?且道博山有甚長處?寰中J34nB311_p0627c12天子無私敕,塞外將軍令更嚴。」

J34nB311_p0628a06「紫湖禪師一夜大叫:『有賊!』大眾皆驚起。紫湖於法堂J34nB311_p0628a07前捉住一僧,曰:『賊在遮裏。』僧曰:『某甲不是。』湖日:『是即J34nB311_p0628a08是,你不肯承當。』」師曰:「我聞紫湖有惡狗,善能咬人性J34nB311_p0628a09命,原來也只是吠聲,無能啀實。雖然做賊人心虛,暗J34nB311_p0628a10地裏咬死一箇、半箇也不見得。我博山門庭廣大,不J34nB311_p0628a11養此物,只有一把吹毛利劍,掛在冷處,有不識好惡J34nB311_p0628a12者,犯其鋒芒,教他自喪身命。我遮裏不動聲色,坐致J34nB311_p0628a13太平。汝等大眾,也須防慎始得。」

J34nB311_p0628a15「南泉兩堂衲子爭貓,不知爭箇甚麼?南泉提起貓云:J34nB311_p0628a16『道得即不斬。』眾無語,泉即斬卻。」師云:「大小南泉沒奈J34nB311_p0628a17船何,打破戽斗。貓子有甚麼罪?晚間舉似趙州,州脫J34nB311_p0628a18艸鞋頭戴而出,泉云:『子若在,救得貓兒。』且道果救得、J34nB311_p0628a19救不得?趙州是甚麼心行?大似箇幫惡的。秪如貓兒J34nB311_p0628a20已斬也、艸鞋已戴也,兩堂僧又作麼生?杖人今日重J34nB311_p0628a21新舉似,放過則不可。」一時趁散。

J34nB311_p0628a27「洞山門下寒暑到來,寒則寒殺闍黎、熱則熱殺闍黎,J34nB311_p0628a28遮老漢太煞利害。若恁麼,則盡大地皆無一活人也。J34nB311_p0628a29曹山門下天時熱極,卻教人鑊湯爐炭裏迴避,使眾J34nB311_p0628a30苦不能到,遮老漢太煞偷心。秪遮鑊湯爐炭,還容你J34nB311_p0628b01躲根麼?若於此二則公案透得,許汝等向東山水上J34nB311_p0628b02行,與諸佛共一出身處;若也不能透過,秪恐八苦交J34nB311_p0628b03煎,教你求生不得、求死不得,縱有薰風自南來,殿閣J34nB311_p0628b04下那到你乘涼在?秪如博山門下又作麼生?金鏃慣J34nB311_p0628b05調曾百戰,鐵鞭多力孰能仇?」

J34nB311_p0628b07「解白玉大連環,開黃金無縫鎖,也須是箇超絕佛祖J34nB311_p0628b08底玅手。今日六月小盡,一年已瓜分半箇去也。雞足J34nB311_p0628b09山中飲光尊者作麼生思量?兜率天上逸多大士又J34nB311_p0628b10如何計較?秪如壁上掛錢財,老鼠咬腰帶,遮箇消息J34nB311_p0628b11也須透過。若透不過,問取西樓笑長老。」師歸方丈,笑J34nB311_p0628b12公隨進,師曰:「如有人問長老:『壁上挂錢財,老鼠咬腰J34nB311_p0628b13帶,是甚麼消息?』如何答他?」笑曰:「直得禪床震動。」師曰:J34nB311_p0628b14「秪如天上無彌勒,地下無彌勒時,是誰禪床震動?」笑J34nB311_p0628b15曰:「多煩和尚挂齒。」師曰:「恁麼那?」笑曰:「誰敢擊雷門?」師J34nB311_p0628b16微笑。

J34nB311_p0628b18「菴提遮女問文殊:『明知生是不生之義、死是不死之J34nB311_p0628b19義,如何又被生死之所流轉?』文殊云:『其力未充。』杖人J34nB311_p0628b20云:當時只合扣齒三下。進山主亦以此義問修山主,J34nB311_p0628b21修云:『筍畢竟成竹去,如今作篾用得麼?』進云:『老兄欠J34nB311_p0628b22悟在。』杖人云:我只將一把稻艸與他。修云:『老兄又作J34nB311_p0628b23麼生?』進以手指云:『遮箇是監院房。遮箇是典座房。』修J34nB311_p0628b24即禮拜。杖人云:我只震聲一喝。大眾!汝等若於此三J34nB311_p0628b25轉語薦得,許你與古人各有出身活路;汝若不薦,且J34nB311_p0628b26一坑埋卻。」

J34nB311_p0628b28「巖頭云:『大統綱宗,先須識句。』杖人云:識得句,門裏有J34nB311_p0628b29出身之路;識得宗,身裏有出門之機。僧問巖頭:『古帆J34nB311_p0628b30未掛時如何?』『小魚吞大魚。』進云:『已掛後時如何?』『後園J34nB311_p0628c01驢喫艸。』杖人云:且道此僧具何知見能恁麼問?巖頭J34nB311_p0628c02具何宗旨能恁麼答?在吾人分上還有交涉也無?有J34nB311_p0628c03交涉,試拈出意旨來看;無交涉,則古人如何敲唱?既J34nB311_p0628c04在我博山門下,也須出些手眼始得。忽有問杖人:『古J34nB311_p0628c05帆未掛時如何?』向他道:『錦繡銀香囊,風吹滿路香。』『古J34nB311_p0628c06帆已掛後時如何?』杖人云:寄言十八子,好好事潘即。」
重陽解制小參
J34nB311_p0628c08卓拄杖,云:「兔老冰盤光滴露,鳥棲瓊樹影翻空,重陽J34nB311_p0628c09桂菊交相發,倚杖看來笑獨濃。笑箇甚麼?博山夏中J34nB311_p0628c10結制,火傘炎炎飛冷雪,白玉駒兒流汗血;博山秋深J34nB311_p0628c11解制,霜輪寂寂散香彩,黃金索子須自擺。就中更有J34nB311_p0628c12末後牢關,須知有時解期不解人,有時解人不解期,J34nB311_p0628c13有時人期兩不解,有時人期兩俱解。於此一一透得,J34nB311_p0628c14拄杖子不妨當堂分付;其或徘徊,未免羝羊觸籓,徒J34nB311_p0628c15望沖霄鸞鳳。」復卓拄杖。僧問:「如何是期解人不解?」師J34nB311_p0628c16云:「花開葉落渾閒事,縱目其誰與己親?」進云:「如何是J34nB311_p0628c17人解期不解?」師云:「煙雲渺渺關山隔,能作生涯孰敢J34nB311_p0628c18欺?」進云:「如何是人期兩不解?」師云:「折角鐵牛鞭不起,J34nB311_p0628c19無腔牧笛漫相催。」進云:「如何是人期兩俱解?」師云:「浩J34nB311_p0628c20蕩乾坤隨放步,吹毛不露太希奇。」
丁酉,主皋亭崇先寺小參
J34nB311_p0628c22敲如意,云:「此事如擊石火、閃電光,無論搆得、搆不得,J34nB311_p0628c23不免喪身失命。」舉:「紫湖和尚夜半大叫:『有賊!』一眾皆J34nB311_p0628c24驚走,湖驀遇一僧捉住,曰:『賊在遮裏。』僧駭曰:『某甲不J34nB311_p0628c25是。』湖放手,曰:『是則是,只你不肯承當。』」師云:「大小紫湖,J34nB311_p0628c26龍頭蛇尾,無殺活手,無端與賊過梯。若是崇先,待他J34nB311_p0628c27道不是,即便推倒,曰:『你遮賊走向那裏去?』亦不負下J34nB311_p0628c28手一場也。雖然,秪如今日捉住汝等又作麼生好?」乃J34nB311_p0628c29喝,云:「饒你度刃衝流,早落遮箇坑裏。」

J34nB311_p0629a01「英雄不作欺人語,英雄不作欺人事。秪如世尊於諸J34nB311_p0629a02佛大集會處,絕世英奇不知多少,獨一女人得近佛J34nB311_p0629a03座入定,文殊稱為大智,乃不知其得何三昧。世尊既J34nB311_p0629a04命文殊自出其定問之,及文殊用盡神力竟不能出,J34nB311_p0629a05世尊卻云:『非但一箇文殊,直饒百千文殊亦出不得。』J34nB311_p0629a06遮黃面瞿曇豈不將人玩弄?復曰:『下方有罔明菩薩J34nB311_p0629a07始能出之。』罔明至,果一彈指便出彼定。汝等看遮一J34nB311_p0629a08棚傀儡,各有線索當在何處?世間英雄尚不肯欺人,J34nB311_p0629a09而出世佛祖肯自欺欺人乎?設使現前有一衲僧突J34nB311_p0629a10出道:『老漢不得東扯西拽。』或喝一喝、或彈指一下、或J34nB311_p0629a11拂袖打之。遶如此,還了得此淆訛麼?不如此,畢竟遮J34nB311_p0629a12段公案如何剖判?汝等試自簡別看。若簡別得出,不J34nB311_p0629a13負我崇先杖子與汝點頭;如簡別不出,更須猛著精J34nB311_p0629a14彩,莫被自己瞞頇好。」

J34nB311_p0629a16「向上去,高且清;向下去,厚且寧;中間去,和且平。迷時J34nB311_p0629a17去,縱橫皆惑亂;悟時去,逆順盡神明。夫如是,安得透J34nB311_p0629a18脫迷悟,貫徹聖解凡情?」顧大眾云:「大千世界拈來如J34nB311_p0629a19栗米大,打鼓普請看,漆桶不會。忽有燈籠沿壁上天J34nB311_p0629a20台,大叫曰:『通玄峰頭不是人間,心外無法,滿目青山。』J34nB311_p0629a21左邊被寒山打一巴掌,右邊被拾得打一苕帚,翻箇J34nB311_p0629a22筋斗下平地。復叫曰:『灼然三世諸佛不知有,黧奴白J34nB311_p0629a23牯卻知有。』又遇著騎虎老豐干,笑云:『莫道山僧饒舌,J34nB311_p0629a24汝蔡示橋一隊居士也須吞得浪杖人棘栗蓬、透得J34nB311_p0629a25金剛圈,始可與你向毘盧頂上逍遙去。』呵呵!覿面相J34nB311_p0629a26逢何處去?知音知後更誰知?」

J34nB311_p0629b02「趙州在廁坑上呼文遠:『此處不可與說佛法。』文遠於J34nB311_p0629b03狹路傍把斷趙州,要討箇公驗。此是鎮州蘿蔔頭開J34nB311_p0629b04花,青州布衫裏石,被皋亭拋向東洋大海底,惹得鐵J34nB311_p0629b05牛背上蚊子飛到十字街頭,自歌自唱云:『土曠人稀,J34nB311_p0629b06相逢者少。』汝等遮隊沒料掉禪和子,在長連床上打J34nB311_p0629b07瞌春,那知有恁麼事?」

J34nB311_p0629b09「昨夜三更失卻牛,天明起來失卻火,王老師賣身無J34nB311_p0629b10人酬價,未遇甘贄行者到,留得灶上箇破鍋。不見山J34nB311_p0629b11門前御龍橋畔艸離離,金家堰每有賣糖人打鑼子J34nB311_p0629b12向遮裏過,此中有一僧聞此鑼聲,卻於糖上著到,將J34nB311_p0629b13一文大光錢托道友買一塊來壓饞,此友過手擲地J34nB311_p0629b14曰:『若作一文錢會,入地獄如箭射。』此僧猛省曰:『捉敗J34nB311_p0629b15我偷心也。』杖人聞之,乃呼此友來問曰:『是你恁麼點J34nB311_p0629b16發他麼?』曰:『是。』被杖人一頓打趁出去,汝等還有知此J34nB311_p0629b17消息者麼?」

J34nB311_p0629b19「三七日前,釋迦掩室於摩竭。三七日內,海底波斯嚼J34nB311_p0629b20生鐵。三七日後,大家笑龜不成鱉。無論是七後七前,J34nB311_p0629b21只要你自奮自烈,不有傷心人,爭解死冤結。說甚麼J34nB311_p0629b22為人須為徹,殺人須見血。若作一場鬼戲,徒自掉棒J34nB311_p0629b23打月。」

J34nB311_p0629b25「梅花未發,謾取影於臨水橫斜;春色如分,任尋芳而J34nB311_p0629b26乘與傲岸。此時霜風雖凜,且喜參謁猶多。近鄉金堰J34nB311_p0629b27更奇特,能問西來意若何。欲指彼庭前柏樹子,恐賺J34nB311_p0629b28他缺齒老達磨。何似相逢開口笑,敲得寒冰煮活茶。J34nB311_p0629b29呵呵呵,痛快麼,千古風流屬作家。」

J34nB311_p0629c01「異方穿心國有一好事自以出人頭地者,忽被大鵬J34nB311_p0629c02金翅鳥擒向虛空拋擲,尋落下我震旦國中。彼陡見J34nB311_p0629c03此中人箇箇胸次嚴密,渾無縫隙,乃詫曰:『原來遮夥J34nB311_p0629c04人皆是一竅不通者。』中有箇眼光爍破四天下漢,迎J34nB311_p0629c05風與一痛掌,直使血流披面,疾奔杖人處叫屈。杖人J34nB311_p0629c06曰:『你道遮一掌打著阿誰?』彼人目瞪口呿,杖人曰:『徒J34nB311_p0629c07自仰寒空,那討金翅影。』」

J34nB311_p0629c09「百丈老漢不識好惡,卻於臘月三十日夜始問人:作J34nB311_p0629c10麼生折合?大似老鼠尾上繫研鎚。若是趁狗迫牆,掉J34nB311_p0629c11過頭來,性命卻在他口裏。雲門道:『日日是好日,時時J34nB311_p0629c12是好時。』也是錦井限人。壽昌云:『是遮等過日子,不是J34nB311_p0629c13遮等過時光。』未免金鎞刮目。北禪欲烹露地白牛與J34nB311_p0629c14人分歲,正是窮人多詐。遮隊老古錐,多處添些子,少J34nB311_p0629c15處減些兒,自謂有殺活手眼,消不得杖人一笑。薦得J34nB311_p0629c16此笑,許他做箇本色衲僧,脫脫灑灑去;若也不薦,明J34nB311_p0629c17年更有新條在,引得春風笑不休。」

J34nB311_p0629c19舉:「秀才問長沙:『弟子只見《千佛名經》,不知居何國土,J34nB311_p0629c20亦化物也無?』沙云:『秀才曾到黃鶴樓否?』曰:『曾到。』沙曰:J34nB311_p0629c21『崔顥題詩後,還有人題否?』曰:『無。』沙曰:『得閒題取一篇J34nB311_p0629c22好。』」師曰:「岑大蟲灑食大地,皮毛有滴血,落處可成甘J34nB311_p0629c23蔗種族。若是我,但呼秀才,待應喏,便向道:『你好箇彩J34nB311_p0629c24頭。一試便中狀元。』頌曰:飽腹文章半字無,儼然殿試J34nB311_p0629c25便傅臚。春風得意馬蹄疾,一日觀花滿帝都。」
