J34nB303_p0355a02始覺合本之謂佛,明佛心宗之J34nB303_p0355a03謂祖,五印土不聞有禪師名也。J34nB303_p0355a04震旦慧可傳達磨正印,唐朝追J34nB303_p0355a05贈為大祖禪師,嗣後或錫號帝J34nB303_p0355a06庭、或受記密室,禪師之名始著。J34nB303_p0355a07至黃檗時,匡徒領眾者星列,而J34nB303_p0355a08檗之示眾乃曰:「大唐國裏無禪J34nB303_p0355a09師。」蓋禪師之名未易稱若斯也。J34nB303_p0355a10明興三百年,禪宗不絕如線,至J34nB303_p0355a11天童而臨濟一燈載振,至萬峰J34nB303_p0355a12而黃檗宗旨重興,至J34nB303_p0355a13國清和尚而天童、萬峰之道始J34nB303_p0355a14集其成,大行吳越間。座元燮雲J34nB303_p0355a15璣公密受印記,閉關國清無畏J34nB303_p0355b01堂中,終其身未嘗出世。入寂之J34nB303_p0355b02日,天下無論識與不識,靡不咨J34nB303_p0355b03嗟嘆息。聞其遺行,曰:「此服糞掃,J34nB303_p0355b04躬頭陀之飲光也。」見其遺言,曰:J34nB303_p0355b05「此悟玄旨,支臨濟之風穴也。」翕J34nB303_p0355b06然稱之曰璣禪師,無異詞云。予J34nB303_p0355b07不及見師,然從J34nB303_p0355b08和尚遊最久,得聞師生平甚悉。J34nB303_p0355b09師根性初不甚利,然心虛志篤,J34nB303_p0355b10於古人一語過不去處,忘寢食J34nB303_p0355b11恒數月,必徹盡底蘊乃止。侍萬J34nB303_p0355b12峰老人三年有省,記之曰:「可以J34nB303_p0355b13出世,不妨忘世。」後依和尚祥符、J34nB303_p0355b14台山間,凡十四年,深入閫奧,自J34nB303_p0355b15謂無一言一字不自和尚𩍼鞴J34nB303_p0355c01中來。末後眼明機迅,遂與和尚J34nB303_p0355c02箭鋒相拄,所謂得汝說須是吾J34nB303_p0355c03舉,得汝舉須是吾說,佛祖秘要J34nB303_p0355c04無逃掌握者。雖靜處一室中,無J34nB303_p0355c05刻不以尊師為眾為念,每聞鐘J34nB303_p0355c06鼓聲,知和尚登座說法,亟焚香J34nB303_p0355c07搭衣,禮拜拱立,俟眾散始敢就J34nB303_p0355c08坐。事關叢林大體,必熟思審處,J34nB303_p0355c09預白和尚曰:「法應如是。」和尚一J34nB303_p0355c10舉動、一話言,於自心有未合者,J34nB303_p0355c11必婉言相質曰:「應如是否?」所言J34nB303_p0355c12皆遠合古轍、近赴來機,以是事J34nB303_p0355c13無小大,和尚必就關相商,多所J34nB303_p0355c14補益。嘗上書云:「古人平生如大J34nB303_p0355c15火聚,後世尚有流入詩文者,除J34nB303_p0356a01直提向上外,筆舌似宜潛神而J34nB303_p0356a02養。」懶拙和尚深然其言,特為上J34nB303_p0356a03堂風勵學者。其視大眾痾癢如J34nB303_p0356a04在己身,必為悉心區畫。聞人過,J34nB303_p0356a05蹴然不寧,曉夜思維,以盡忠告。J34nB303_p0356a06有未喻者,必曰:「此吾誠未至也。J34nB303_p0356a07誠至者,金石為之開,況人乎?」或J34nB303_p0356a08勸以出世為人,則曰:「有志未逮,J34nB303_p0356a09願陶鎔氣質,保固根本,光大心J34nB303_p0356a10志,世世承事善知識,陸沉眾中J34nB303_p0356a11足矣。」戊子八月示疾,請和尚入J34nB303_p0356a12關,禮辭偈別,有明日欲歸之語,J34nB303_p0356a13且問:「古有子夜入寂者否?」和尚J34nB303_p0356a14曰:「不見世尊中夜泊然乎?」因次J34nB303_p0356a15第請同參訣別,各贈以偈。翼日J34nB303_p0356b01為十七日,神氣湛定如常,中夜J34nB303_p0356b02吉祥而逝。嗟嗟!如師可謂行解J34nB303_p0356b03相應、去來自在者矣。藉令擔荷J34nB303_p0356b04大法、興起群英,慈明、楊岐何難J34nB303_p0356b05再見?乃韜光一室,名可聞而面J34nB303_p0356b06不可見,令諸方徒深歎仰。悲夫!J34nB303_p0356b07嘗見末法禪流離師太早、為人J34nB303_p0356b08太急,徒作一場逗漏,末路收拾J34nB303_p0356b09不來。師既大徹,猶溫研積稔遠J34nB303_p0356b10追雲門,啐啄同時上符溈仰,可J34nB303_p0356b11使天下後世聞風興起,有真宗、J34nB303_p0356b12無濫宗,有絕學、無淺學,雖以師J34nB303_p0356b13百世可也。豈必到處聚一千五J34nB303_p0356b14百眾,兒孫遍地,然後可追古德J34nB303_p0356b15哉?和尚梓其遺編,公之千古,有J34nB303_p0356c01目共見,無俟予言。特摭師生平J34nB303_p0356c02大略,列之編首,俾世知師之法J34nB303_p0356c03今傳後,與古人並稱,蓋不僅在J34nB303_p0356c04茲編也。

J34nB303_p0357a04拈起拄杖,云:「秪這箇兩儀未兆、父母未生,枝葉扶疏,J34nB303_p0357a05庇廕萬有。父母既生之後,皮膚脫落盡,唯有一真實,J34nB303_p0357a06扶危持顛,各各全承渠力,直不藏曲,取之左右逢其J34nB303_p0357a07原。以是,臨濟一時三頓坐斷天下人舌頭,洞山過水J34nB303_p0357a08睹影折合還歸炭裏坐,法眼於天地同根處敲空作J34nB303_p0357a09響,溈山向烈燄中拈出春令冬行,雲門化為龍,吞卻J34nB303_p0357a10乾坤大地,蓮花不肯住,直入千峰萬峰。所以,過去諸J34nB303_p0357a11佛也恁麼、未來諸佛也恁麼、現在諸佛也恁麼。無何J34nB303_p0357a12情生智隔、想變體殊,於直截根源上摘葉尋枝、愛憎J34nB303_p0357a13取舍,致使臨深履薄一點也用不著。璣上座今日移J34nB303_p0357a14風易俗,將從上葛藤一齊截斷,擲向當陽,貴須著眼。」J34nB303_p0357a15驀卓一下。
J34nB303_p0357a16和尚命為三大士起座:「昔日迦毘羅國獨自稱尊,今J34nB303_p0357a17夜東山堂上置身無地,文殊、普賢極力匡扶,未免一J34nB303_p0357a18齊趁出,非敢不近人情,祗欲掃蹤滅跡。」以拄杖指云:J34nB303_p0357a19「賊!賊!四智三身是何物?」乃顧左右云:「交互爭輝,大家J34nB303_p0357a20著力。」
J34nB303_p0357a21「一人有慶,兆民賴之;金屑雖貴,入眼成塵。所以,從門J34nB303_p0357a22得入者,喪身失命;胸襟流出者,塞壑填溝。那堪於𨍏J34nB303_p0357a23轢鑽下好肉剜瘡、雪峰堂中枷上著杻?猶自不識好J34nB303_p0357a24惡。向南山起雲、北山下雨,拽取占波國與新羅鬥額,J34nB303_p0357a25大似拋卻甜桃樹、緣山摘醋梨,致令後代兒孫逐浪J34nB303_p0357a26隨波,烏焉成馬。今問大眾:璣上座恁麼告報,未審還J34nB303_p0357a27有為人處也無?」良久,云:「咦!」
J34nB303_p0357a28「草鞋踏破始歸家,家業飄零活計賒。拈起庭前柏樹J34nB303_p0357a29子,掀翻門外白牛車。空中釘橛,石上栽花,玉本無瑕J34nB303_p0357a30卻有瑕。」
J34nB303_p0357b01「昔年一室且頻掃,而今隨例肆顛倒。夢中騎得二輪J34nB303_p0357b02歸,天明一老一不老。以時放還家,忘卻來時道。觸目J34nB303_p0357b03非所親,全身入荒草。」
J34nB303_p0357b04「眼光打失,鼻孔撩天,向上一路,坐斷機先。信手拈來J34nB303_p0357b05口上著,西歸隻履影翩翩,百億分身無覓處,回頭竇J34nB303_p0357b06八布衫穿。」
J34nB303_p0357b07「昔向雲間覓道場,今於火宅見空王。門槌拍板宮商J34nB303_p0357b08別,鐵馬冰車律呂長。屋裏青山著不得,夜深趁出明J34nB303_p0357b09月堂。」
J34nB303_p0357b10「落葉乘風墜,聲光無向背。何事尊堂名,孝子莫知諱。J34nB303_p0357b11試問山中人,作麼生迴避。」
J34nB303_p0357b12「三版一聲鐘,有耳還如聾,目前無著處,落在亂雲中。J34nB303_p0357b13百鳥啣花無處獻,天人送供尋不見,嬋娟終夜夢難J34nB303_p0357b14成,水中覿露本來面。珍重漁人漫撈摝,釣竿斫盡重J34nB303_p0357b15栽竹。」
J34nB303_p0357b16「驀地回光,前後際斷。三心不可得,踏翻生死岸。通身J34nB303_p0357b17赤骨律,何從出白汗。欲覓同心人,出頭天外看。狹路J34nB303_p0357b18忽相逢,主賓頻互換。把手放還家,腳底風雲亂。」
J34nB303_p0357b19「踏著秤錘硬似鐵,眼裏耳裏齊漏泄。回頭大地無寸J34nB303_p0357b20土,運钁揮斤莫莽鹵。」
J34nB303_p0357b21「毒藥醍醐一道行,同條生也不知名。而今塗毒鼓聲J34nB303_p0357b22發,寶所掀翻下化城。」
J34nB303_p0357b23「西來大意直如矢,誰道庭前柏樹子。多少英靈向外J34nB303_p0357b24求,騎牛覓牛不知止。一番提起一番新,殺人活人聲J34nB303_p0357b25色裏。千古同心有趙州,彼此當門秪一齒。」
J34nB303_p0357b26「本自不曾迷,今日何曾悟。直道在目前,行須左右步。J34nB303_p0357b27遇著過量人,披襟體不露。水窮山盡處,捩轉娘生褲。J34nB303_p0357b28心識不到處,突出戴角虎。伎倆自尋嘗,兒童心欲狂。J34nB303_p0357b29典守不得辭其過,雷轟電掣破灶墮。逢人漫道悟無J34nB303_p0357b30生,寶所何如幻化城。」
J34nB303_p0357c01「庭前柏樹子,白日睡如死。咄哉老趙州,兩手扶不起。J34nB303_p0357c02扶得起,無依倚,玄沙拗折俱胝指。」
J34nB303_p0357c03「青州衫子重豈止七斤,萬法歸一,要且不在這裏。人J34nB303_p0357c04人道趙州老不以筋骨為能,我道渠後生可畏。寄語J34nB303_p0357c05諸方,欲得寒暑不侵,直須投身裏許。」
J34nB303_p0357c06「仰山推出枕子,用劍刃上事。高峰枕子落地,遠客還J34nB303_p0357c07故鄉。渠儂枕子不推不落,萬象森羅,曉夜驚愕。咦!從J34nB303_p0357c08門入者非家珍,眼裏無筋一世貧。」
J34nB303_p0357c09「量才補職,伏惟尚饗。金剛與泥神揩痒,雖然舉止郎J34nB303_p0357c10當,就中亦有奇想。夜來一擦骨出,七情六欲,五臟六J34nB303_p0357c11腑,覆底覆,仰底仰。」
J34nB303_p0357c12「日日是好日,喪時光,藤林荒,晨朝拖犁,晚間拽耙,平J34nB303_p0357c13地上死人無數。三斤麻,一疋布,鐘聲咬破七條,抱取J34nB303_p0357c14貓兒來,頭上著枷,腳下著杻。昨日有人從天台來,卻J34nB303_p0357c15往徑山去,過得荊棘林是好手,叵耐後人屋裏販揚J34nB303_p0357c16州,更道箇紅旗閃爍,只知貪程太速,不顧泥水通身。J34nB303_p0357c17璣上座雖是臨濟兒孫,肯惜旁通一線?」乃搖手云:「今J34nB303_p0357c18日不著便。」
J34nB303_p0357c19「昨夜長安三尺雪,萬壑千巖歸路絕。石人撫子語喃J34nB303_p0357c20喃,兩口分明無一舌。忘卻山情與水情,換手搥胸痛J34nB303_p0357c21不徹。可憐生,底時節,倒腹傾腸向誰說?」
J34nB303_p0357c22補衲次,拈起破布云:「升天底事直須颺卻,十成底事J34nB303_p0357c23對眾拋卻,擲地作金聲,不得顧著你。這何似生底,猶J34nB303_p0357c24自存圭露角,明朝主人公鼻孔下垂,三通鼓響時,將J34nB303_p0357c25謂有人與你酬價。」
J34nB303_p0357c26「多生不德,廿年墮落王家;一旦知非,雪夜逃歸鳳嶺。J34nB303_p0357c27赤旛引導,四眾心地圓成;祝髮證心,三際無明頓斷。J34nB303_p0357c28南屏夜話,看破大樹家風;天壽呈機,鈍置三峰古佛。J34nB303_p0357c29四年執役,拋撒無數家珍;五月分燈,收拾七人狼籍。J34nB303_p0357c30出世忘世,聖恩記莂終天;大膽小心,靈鷲稱揚特地。J34nB303_p0358a01晝夜百八,令莖葦無欲無依;合掌漫哆,俾夫椒破家J34nB303_p0358a02散宅。直得釋迦痛恨、彌勒攢眉,天上人間置身無地。J34nB303_p0358a03此皆這上座因果昭彰,總不干他人之事。雖然,跌倒J34nB303_p0358a04還須自手撐。」乃顧左右,云:「大眾且道:如何是自撐底J34nB303_p0358a05事?」擲下拄杖,云:「將此深心奉塵剎,是則名為報佛恩。J34nB303_p0358a06先聖家風,以大慈悲為室、諸法空為座、慚愧之上服、J34nB303_p0358a07柔和忍辱衣、法喜禪悅食、解脫味為漿。後來老去知J34nB303_p0358a08非,瞥然拈起一枝花,將四十九年狼籍一時收攝,當J34nB303_p0358a09時百萬人天無不眼光打失,而鼻孔、眉毛究不知落J34nB303_p0358a10在甚麼處?起居飲食者是阿誰?唯有飲光看破敗闕,J34nB303_p0358a11不覺失笑。然智過於師,方堪傳授;智與師齊,減師半J34nB303_p0358a12德。一自倒卻門前剎竿,西天四七、東土二三,以大圓J34nB303_p0358a13覺為伽藍,身心安居平等性智,直是十方無壁落、四J34nB303_p0358a14面亦無門,俾三有七趣、經行坐臥嘗在其中。無何,馬J34nB303_p0358a15駒突出,拄杖子化為龍,吞卻乾坤大地,若凡若聖一J34nB303_p0358a16齊散宅破家。語云:『窮則變,變則通。』應無所住而生其J34nB303_p0358a17心,將他從上來一片無陰陽地,各各分疆列界,隨手J34nB303_p0358a18插標,或於一莖草上現瓊樓玉殿,或於萬有心地示J34nB303_p0358a19寶所化城,或以大千沙界作繩床,或以五性三乘為J34nB303_p0358a20逆旅,平地起骨堆,虛空剜窟寵,無所不有。於是乎習J34nB303_p0358a21以成風,藏身露影,東西南北門相對,無限輪鎚擊不J34nB303_p0358a22開,以致猿抱子歸青嶂裏,鳥啣花落碧巖前。更有一J34nB303_p0358a23輩呈身自鬻者,屋裏販揚州,於門窗牆壁上偏書心J34nB303_p0358a24字,亦有於門窗牆壁上即物書名,復有道:『一切處字J34nB303_p0358a25義炳然,何必不必?』殊不知目前無異草,格外有乾坤,J34nB303_p0358a26從門入者不是家珍。所以道:『我若一向舉揚宗教,法J34nB303_p0358a27堂裏須草深一丈。』若夫益州布、揚州絹、青州衫子重J34nB303_p0358a28七斤,不過衲僧門下揭示西來大意耳。後人不能幹J34nB303_p0358a29父之蠱,競將竹鍼麻線截長補短,甚至作貼體衣,去J34nB303_p0358a30一墮五,一生脫不下。師匠將錯就錯,多處添些子,則J34nB303_p0358b01喜形容色,移風易俗;少處減些子,則怨入骨髓。冀其J34nB303_p0358b02脫體無依,裁雲補衲者,可多得乎?至於五味饡秤錘,J34nB303_p0358b03蘸雪喫冬瓜,亦不過住山人隨家豐儉,爽心快口耳。J34nB303_p0358b04今人不知舌頭無骨,未得一飽忘百饑,先於苦辣鹹J34nB303_p0358b05酸上著,倒喫卻金牛飯,不知廬陵米作麼價?變生作J34nB303_p0358b06熟,因誰致得雲門餅、趙州茶匙?缽下狼籍不少。又擬J34nB303_p0358b07薄批潭底月,細切嶺頭雲,和木札羹作來日一頓,腳J34nB303_p0358b08跟不點地,便去庄上喫油餈。纔經問著,又道:『有甚饆J34nB303_p0358b09饠䭔子?快下將來。』等閒提起洗缽盂話,異口同音曰:J34nB303_p0358b10『是甚麼碗脫丘?』元旦啟祚,萬物咸新,三三兩兩,猶向J34nB303_p0358b11地爐邊烹白牛分歲。主人公眼光爍破四天下,乃喟J34nB303_p0358b12然歎曰:『養其大者為大人,養其小者為小人。』虎兕出J34nB303_p0358b13於柙,龜玉毀於櫝中,是誰之過與?萬化從新,自今日J34nB303_p0358b14始,乃以蜜果換苦葫蘆,醍醐毒藥一道而行。嗟乎!饑J34nB303_p0358b15者甘食,渴者甘飲,吞得下者斂眉叫苦,吐不出者怨J34nB303_p0358b16天尤人。栗棘蓬,麤餐易飽,細嚼難饑。鎮州蘿蔔,就地J34nB303_p0358b17拈來,無問生熟,驀地劄著衣缽下事,便依他作解道:J34nB303_p0358b18『明日大悲院裏有齋。』曰:『同伴者阿誰?』乃點胸點肋,曰:J34nB303_p0358b19『鄭州梨,青州棗,萬物無過出處好。昨夜無端炙茄餅,J34nB303_p0358b20不知費卻多少油鹽。』寒山忍俊不禁,拈起茄串,問曰:J34nB303_p0358b21『喚這箇作甚麼?幾多朝到西天,暮歸東土,以飲食衣J34nB303_p0358b22服為佛事底菩薩,打破香積世界,了不知來處。』寒拾J34nB303_p0358b23乃相顧曰:『休!休!人莫不飲食也,鮮能知味也。』啼得血J34nB303_p0358b24流無用處,不如緘口度殘春。雨淋淋地,捩轉草鞋鼻J34nB303_p0358b25孔,不顧石頭路滑,直向他山覷破壁。一人傳虛,千人J34nB303_p0358b26傳寔,盡道是文殊、普賢化身。若是我同流化身,因甚J34nB303_p0358b27俗氣不除?病僧恁麼道,如同病者相憐,未免云:『將此J34nB303_p0358b28深心奉塵剎。』固其分也。但能不觸當今諱,也勝前朝J34nB303_p0358b29斷舌才。」
J34nB303_p0358b30「二年來鐘鼓寥寂,法堂裏說甚草深一丈,幾多六根J34nB303_p0358c01互用者,忍俊不禁,成三十二應。夜來皎月重圓,頓使J34nB303_p0358c02雙澗五峰悉蒙光化。僧堂裏雖則礙塞人不少,而七J34nB303_p0358c03塔子不妨伶俐。適聞好古之士道:『我法中情無取舍,J34nB303_p0358c04何似木上座移紅旗閃爍之風,行心死後誅之令,俾J34nB303_p0358c05失錢遭罪者無怨無訴,按劍相待者無下手處。獨彼J34nB303_p0358c06萬工池神色不異,而水上玩浮漚。』病僧午夢初回,乃J34nB303_p0358c07謂曰:『那家屋裏沒幾個閒漢,想沒量大人,定不謂璣J34nB303_p0358c08同病相憐。』未審惜陰如金者作何判斷?」
乞食還山垂語
J34nB303_p0358c10「楖栗橫肩不顧人,直入千峰萬峰去。因甚撥著便轉?J34nB303_p0358c11行到水窮處,坐看雲起時。黃河三千年一度清,逝者J34nB303_p0358c12如斯,不舍晝夜。達其源者,因甚莫知所止?」
J34nB303_p0358c13「扶風而出,帶月而還,路遠夜長,知他腳下雲深幾許?J34nB303_p0358c14斯時也,萬戶俱閉,金鴨香消,從前知己,夢斷邯鄲。未J34nB303_p0358c15審不共戴天者,如何相見?」
J34nB303_p0358c16「一缽千家飯,孤身萬里游。青目睹人少,問路白雲頭。J34nB303_p0358c17今朝一飽忘百饑,承誰恩力?」
J34nB303_p0358c18「南北東西歸去來,夜深同看千巖雪。渠無眼耳鼻舌J34nB303_p0358c19身意,作麼生看?」
J34nB303_p0358c20「撒手到家人不識,更無一物獻尊堂。可憐生,頭角零J34nB303_p0358c21離,御飯亦吐。尊堂久默斯要,不以筋骨為能。今朝觸J34nB303_p0358c22目傷心,作何調攝?」
J34nB303_p0358c23「昨從鳥道來,轉入玄路去。智門踏破草鞋,赤腳走玄J34nB303_p0358c24沙,踰嶺碎卻指頭,血濺梵天,平地上死人無數。國有J34nB303_p0358c25憲章,未審罪歸何所?」
J34nB303_p0358c26「三日不相見,莫作等閒看。去家千百日,古路草芊芊。J34nB303_p0358c27所以道:『未有嘗行而不住者,未有嘗住而不行者。』其J34nB303_p0358c28行也,和光同塵,片雲橫谷口,迷卻幾人源?其住也,破J34nB303_p0358c29家散宅,父母非我親,誰是最親者?既然家破宅散,且J34nB303_p0358c30道飲食起居在甚麼處?」
J34nB303_p0359a01「父母非我親,誰是最親者?因甚東家人死,西家助哀?J34nB303_p0359a02路逢達道人,不將語默對,悠悠兩會心,清風動天地。J34nB303_p0359a03君子千里同風,正與麼時,山中人兩口無一舌,作何J34nB303_p0359a04秪對?」
J34nB303_p0359a05「自離左右,乾坤寥廓,不識所從。終日十字街頭化飯J34nB303_p0359a06喫了,古廟裏閉門高臥,一日打眠三五度,也消不得J34nB303_p0359a07許多閒。閒不過時,於赤肉團上伐鼓,烈焰堆頭白椎,J34nB303_p0359a08盡大地撮來如粟米粒大,拋向面前,漆桶不會。四大J34nB303_p0359a09部洲忍俊不禁,各還本位。東弗于逮過水睹影,打失J34nB303_p0359a10布袋;西瞿耶尼倒腹傾腸;北鬱單越打破大唐國,覓J34nB303_p0359a11起處不得;南贍部洲相呼相喚云:『歸去好珍重,後園J34nB303_p0359a12驢喫草。』雖然,人無遠慮,必有近憂,其奈笑破土地鼻J34nB303_p0359a13孔。昨來重九之期,村歌社舞無處作賽,望空啟告云:J34nB303_p0359a14『何緣得到與麼地?』秪恐山中人目斷雲山,不惜草鞋,J34nB303_p0359a15一為舉似俊鷹快鷂,一任分髓分皮。苟或眼目定動,J34nB303_p0359a16莫怪璣上座不近人情好。」

J34nB303_p0359a27「向上一路,凡聖共由。不得踏著,踏著則草木成兵,壁J34nB303_p0359a28立千仞,人天罔措;不得住著,住著則髑髏前見鬼,百J34nB303_p0359a29尺竿頭進步,旋轉乾坤;不得動著,動著則雷電交馳,J34nB303_p0359a30急水上打毬子,萬派朝宗;不得覷著,覷著則千波競J34nB303_p0359b01起。既然一切不得,則三界無安,猶如火宅。因甚又道:J34nB303_p0359b02『嘗在於其中,經行及坐臥。』」
J34nB303_p0359b03「識不能識,智不能知,覿面當機,瞬目千里。空生無說J34nB303_p0359b04而說,醍醐上味,為世所珍,遇斯等人,翻成毒藥。釋梵J34nB303_p0359b05絕聽而聽,口欲談而辭喪,心欲緣而慮亡。群生萬有,J34nB303_p0359b06於非男女中幻作男女,宴息經行,光吞萬象,智如鶖J34nB303_p0359b07子,竭其神力,覓男女相,了不可得。亡何,一塵翳天,空J34nB303_p0359b08花亂墜,於清淨地上,瞥爾情生,四相紛紜,昧而不覺。J34nB303_p0359b09勞他三十二大士徇物忘己,共入不二法門。淨名移J34nB303_p0359b10風易俗,一時靠倒門牆,中外迥如,去來無間。曼殊室J34nB303_p0359b11利見小欲速,把火晝行,遂使隨地稱尊者,坐不垂堂,J34nB303_p0359b12廓然無聖。昨來南越百城,逐隊隨行,把手拽不出。東J34nB303_p0359b13山門下,還有東湧西沒底麼?有則出來與木上座相J34nB303_p0359b14見。」
J34nB303_p0359b15「人從西土來,不得淮南信,卻道大唐國裏,風雨順時,J34nB303_p0359b16百物純淑,早禾晚禾,結子成仁,王瓜茄子,寬腸大肚,J34nB303_p0359b17四民浩浩,不識不知。東山門下,言無味,食無味,無味J34nB303_p0359b18之談,塞斷人口。璣上座從夢自在中聞之,不覺點胸J34nB303_p0359b19點肋,曰:『東鄰西舍,煤炭薑椒,何愁沒處發落?』及至此J34nB303_p0359b20中,而谿谷俱盈矣。因思棄也則出處艱辛,存也無處J34nB303_p0359b21安著,不審海納山容者,能多處添些子否?」
J34nB303_p0359b22「清明在躬,志氣如神,以空聚想,入於聚落,所見色聲J34nB303_p0359b23香味,交互爭輝,觸著則橫按莫邪,伏尸萬里,根塵界J34nB303_p0359b24法,覿露風規,直出威音,迥超言象。等閒以應量器,洞J34nB303_p0359b25蕩相呈,無問男女貴賤,舉必全真。或隨緣赴感,或掉J34nB303_p0359b26頭不顧,或喜或怒,或慈或威,或香積滿盛,或廬陵手J34nB303_p0359b27授,唯一目等觀而無異也。數聲清磬,震動多少閒人;J34nB303_p0359b28一片袈裟,解脫百朝黼黻。重門固閉,庭宇洞開,橫出J34nB303_p0359b29直入,呼喚不回。逢長汀子,布袋解開;遇維摩詰,識法J34nB303_p0359b30者懼。要之,千岐萬派,出沒無時;佛國魔宮,起倒自我。J34nB303_p0359c01教中道:『見聞隨喜,克證無生。』因甚施者不名福田,供J34nB303_p0359c02者墮三惡道?」
J34nB303_p0359c03「嘗因送客處,憶得別家時,思我狸奴白牯近日面孔J34nB303_p0359c04何似?大兄小弟曾照顧伊,新婦騎驢阿家牽,鬧市裏J34nB303_p0359c05德山牌作麼生過?家富小兒驕,河裏失錢河裏摝,太J34nB303_p0359c06險生;栗棘蓬、鐵糝餡,有人供養我沒量大人;雲門餅、J34nB303_p0359c07趙州茶,倒屙無及,祖父從來不出門。閒田地上松風,J34nB303_p0359c08田庫奴不知狼籍我多少?家無小廝,不成君子,簑衣J34nB303_p0359c09箬笠,天晴時甚人曬㫰?斷頭船子下揚州,洪浪巨濤J34nB303_p0359c10裏看風使帆,阿誰識得?李三黑一生只賣炭,雖然汙J34nB303_p0359c11我清白家聲,泠地裏全承渠力,年來失錢遭罪,也須J34nB303_p0359c12大家著隻眼。法堂草深丈許,我總不憂,秪憂太陽溢J34nB303_p0359c13目,萬里不掛片雲,青天也須喫棒。時有目者不見,忽J34nB303_p0359c14然南山起雲、北山下雨,溪深杓柄長,如何去取?三伏J34nB303_p0359c15毒熱,井底冰生,鑊湯爐炭裏安居底,阿師還曾念我?J34nB303_p0359c16赤骨律寒毛卓豎,俯仰乾坤無可告語,有懷如許,不J34nB303_p0359c17審立業成家者作何料理?」
J34nB303_p0359c18「貧無卓錐,動容揚古路;富有四海,遍界不能藏。既藏J34nB303_p0359c19不得,則從日炙風吹,隨波逐浪,或截流而渡,夾岸鳴J34nB303_p0359c20榔;或深入不毛,千江釣雪。布帆明月,贏得夢貼蘆花;J34nB303_p0359c21起倒黑甜,忘卻故鄉水草。無位真人行一步,過無量J34nB303_p0359c22恒沙世界,未出渠儂毛孔;舒一光,蔽百千日月朗耀,J34nB303_p0359c23不得其門而入。璣上座今日將其門洞啟,直令渠全J34nB303_p0359c24身出現,普使群生萬有眼見耳聞、舌嘗鼻嗅、身觸意J34nB303_p0359c25思,縱饒六根不具、八識不全者,一點也背渠不得。東J34nB303_p0359c26山門下繇來火烈風嚴,間不容髮,而今覿面提持,如J34nB303_p0359c27何迴避?若也避得,莫謂天台路嶮巇,羊腸更在青霄J34nB303_p0359c28上;若避不得,相見易為好,共住難為情。」
J34nB303_p0359c29「家貧猶自可,路貧愁殺人。水不洗水,金不博金。江南J34nB303_p0359c30塞北,月泠風高;東魯西秦,山深水闊。四衢道上磚,片J34nB303_p0360a01片皆硬,開口告人難;大千沙界草,莖莖是藥,把手將J34nB303_p0360a02不去,寒暑迭遷。解忌口者,一牛飲水,五馬不嘶;不解J34nB303_p0360a03忌口者,求生不得,求死不得。未審我無上醫王,如何J34nB303_p0360a04救療?」
J34nB303_p0360a05「昔日世尊,於涅槃會上,普告眾曰:『吾有正法眼藏,涅J34nB303_p0360a06槃妙心,付囑摩訶迦葉。』若論正法眼藏,人人取之不J34nB303_p0360a07竭,用之無窮,大千世界,無絲毫許障隔。涅槃妙心,圓J34nB303_p0360a08明清淨,應物現形,放之則彌漫八極,卷之則匿跡韜J34nB303_p0360a09光,在聖不增,處凡不減,因甚又道付囑摩訶迦葉?」
J34nB303_p0360a10「車不橫推,理無曲斷,雖則法爾如然,其奈絃急則促。J34nB303_p0360a11文殊、普賢各各翻轉面皮,主人公二俱不受,情與無J34nB303_p0360a12情,異口同音,曰:『官不容針,私通車馬。』觀音大士從聞、J34nB303_p0360a13思、修入三摩地,曰:『某甲罪過。』長汀子於十字街頭呵J34nB303_p0360a14呵大笑,曰:『口秪堪喫飯。』是則固是,忽有人拈起一粒,J34nB303_p0360a15問云:『這箇從甚處得來?』又作麼生?」
J34nB303_p0360a16「好雨點點,不落在別處,無問情與無情,靡不承其恩J34nB303_p0360a17力。其如根器匪一,弗克含藏,流而為泉、為澗、為沼、為J34nB303_p0360a18池、為江漢、為河海,蹄涔溝澮無不有之,彼彼自深自J34nB303_p0360a19滿,洋溢波濤,莫知源之所自。爰有一人截流而渡,指J34nB303_p0360a20目彼岸此岸異派中流,既而舟航競作,往復無時,蕩J34nB303_p0360a21蕩乎兩岸不住、中流不停,出此沒彼,放浪煙霞,多少J34nB303_p0360a22水邊渴死漢尋聲逐色望風而歸,日就月將罔知攸J34nB303_p0360a23措。逮我馬師崛起,一口吸盡西江,頓使萬派千谿一J34nB303_p0360a24時乾竭,若魔若佛三界無安,日面月面揭示天宇,撫J34nB303_p0360a25沒絃琴群音絕響,百丈三日耳聾,踞大雄峰眾峰偃J34nB303_p0360a26伏,黃檗遙空吐舌璣。上座今日不是無風起浪,秪要J34nB303_p0360a27諸人飲水知源,我當時若見這兩個漢耳聾舌吐,一J34nB303_p0360a28齊以利刃截去,教渠五音不別、五味不分,者也之乎J34nB303_p0360a29無啟口處。既然二根不具,未審賓主相見時如何酬J34nB303_p0360a30酢?具眼耳者試請辨看。」
J34nB303_p0360b01「父子上山,各自努力。忽然懸崖撒手時又作麼生?」
J34nB303_p0360b02「古人道:『開卻路,達磨來也。』某甲曾為浪子偏憐客,直J34nB303_p0360b03下八字打開,三道寶階,十方通貫,若凡若聖,一任直J34nB303_p0360b04道而行,但不得瞻依回顧。若爾依回,則塵境紛紜,岐J34nB303_p0360b05路滿目,百醜千奇,不一而足。雖然,若是過量人,以塵J34nB303_p0360b06境為走使,蹊徑為要道,奇形異狀為幻化莊嚴,自我J34nB303_p0360b07作祖,無往而不得焉。所以道:『毫釐有差,天地懸隔。』若J34nB303_p0360b08無舉鼎拔山力,千里烏騅不易騎。這箇且置,未審達J34nB303_p0360b09磨即今在甚麼處?」
J34nB303_p0360b10「去時無鼻孔,來時無口,雖則面目可憎,終不出乖露J34nB303_p0360b11醜。既不出乖露醜,因甚是處被人趁出?」
J34nB303_p0360b12「□古德云:『他人住處我不住,他人行處我不行,不是J34nB303_p0360b13與人難共住,大都緇素要分明。』璣上座今日人貧智J34nB303_p0360b14短,他人住處我亦住,他人行處我亦行,不是隨流認J34nB303_p0360b15得性,大都入水見長人。東山門下還有不避金翅底J34nB303_p0360b16神龍,出來拿雲攫霧。」
J34nB303_p0360b17「三賢尚未明斯旨,十聖那能達此宗。因甚路上行人J34nB303_p0360b18口似碑?」
J34nB303_p0360b19「魚行水濁,鳥飛毛落,案頭邊肉塊塊是精底。若無柳J34nB303_p0360b20毅傳書信,何緣得到洞庭湖。驢頭沒,馬頭回,不許夜J34nB303_p0360b21行,投明須到,你若無心我便休。常啼菩薩賣卻心肝J34nB303_p0360b22去學般若,隨行入市,要且價值難酬。十字街頭石敢J34nB303_p0360b23當,不分貴賤,應物舒光,光中演說陀羅尼曰:『初三十J34nB303_p0360b24一,中九下七,金陵道婆,駟不及舌。』撒餅長街,觀音大J34nB303_p0360b25士將錢買得,放下手元來卻是饅頭。任渠通身是口,J34nB303_p0360b26喫了直須吐卻。此是璣上座一期行腳,於闤闠中耳J34nB303_p0360b27聞目擊底,分明舉似大方。雖則以官路作人情,所謂J34nB303_p0360b28禮輕義重。若也洞鑑微情,一任饑餐渴飲,橫眠倒臥。J34nB303_p0360b29若也情不附物,此去長安八千里。」
J34nB303_p0360b30寓未嘉日新寺,萬峰和尚忌辰。「六十三年前,醍醐毒J34nB303_p0360c01藥一道而行;六十三年後,鵝王擇乳素非鴨類。年年J34nB303_p0360c02此日,諸方知恩報德者,各各錦上添花。璣侍者從來J34nB303_p0360c03無恩可知,亦無德可報,適於十字街頭乞得一盂飯,J34nB303_p0360c04不免隨氀𣯜也應個時節。」呈飯,云:「昔日普化兩度趯J34nB303_p0360c05翻,今朝璣侍者一回拈出,臨濟生平驅耕奪食,到此J34nB303_p0360c06亦吐舌而休,未審我沒量大人作何吞吐?」良久,云:「也J34nB303_p0360c07知無下口處。」炷香,云:「這一瓣香不貴你森森大樹蔭J34nB303_p0360c08覆人天,只念你東掖夫椒苦辣難近。」提起坐具,云:「既J34nB303_p0360c09近不得,這箇又從甚處得來?」換手搥胸,云:「蒼天!蒼天!」

J34nB303_p0360c11舉:「僧問南泉:『父母未生時,鼻孔在什麼處?』泉云:『父母J34nB303_p0360c12既生時,鼻孔在什麼處?』」師云:「人人鼻孔伸手摸著,說J34nB303_p0360c13甚已生未生?」以手指面云:「認著依然還不是。」
J34nB303_p0360c14舉:「南泉巡堂次,牽一頭牛入堂,首座以手拊牛背一J34nB303_p0360c15下,泉便休去。趙州以草二束放在首座前。」師云:「牽牛J34nB303_p0360c16巡堂者,露頭露角;及時水草者,皮骨零離。祗如首座J34nB303_p0360c17拊牛背,南泉便休去,又作麼生?一對無孔鐵鎚,就中J34nB303_p0360c18一箇七花八裂。」
J34nB303_p0360c19舉:「龐居士賣漉籬,下橋喫撲,靈炤見,亦去爺邊倒。士J34nB303_p0360c20曰:『你作甚麼?』炤曰:『見爺倒,某甲相扶。』士曰:『賴是無人J34nB303_p0360c21見。』」師云:「龐公一口吸盡西江水,無端於平地上喫交。J34nB303_p0360c22靈炤竭力相扶,轉見墮坑落塹。」顧左右云:「莫謂無人J34nB303_p0360c23見。」
J34nB303_p0360c24舉:「須菩提說法,帝釋雨花,須菩提乃問云:『此華從天J34nB303_p0360c25得耶?從地得耶?從人得耶?』帝釋皆云:『弗也。』須菩提云:J34nB303_p0360c26『從何得耶?』帝釋舉手,須菩提云:『如是如是。』雲門云:『帝J34nB303_p0360c27釋舉手處作麼生?與你四大五蘊、釋迦老子是同是J34nB303_p0360c28別?』」師云:「大小空生,無大人相。當時纔見帝釋舉手,便J34nB303_p0360c29云:『破也破也,墮也墮也。』直饒雲門通身手眼,看他向J34nB303_p0360c30甚麼處著倒?」
J34nB303_p0361a01舉:「夾山善會禪師常遣一小師游歷禪肆,殊無趣向,J34nB303_p0361a02及聞山道譽振遠,乃回省覲云:『和尚有如是奇特事,J34nB303_p0361a03何不早向某甲說?』山曰:『汝蒸飯時,吾為汝著火;汝行J34nB303_p0361a04益時,吾則展缽。什麼處是孤負汝?』小師因而悟入。」師J34nB303_p0361a05云:「應病與藥不無他,夾山其如黃連太多。小師雖得J34nB303_p0361a06一回汗出,叫苦有日在。」
J34nB303_p0361a07舉:「俱胝和尚,凡學者參問,惟舉一指。後玄沙云:『我當J34nB303_p0361a08時若見,拗折指頭。』長慶云:『美食不中飽人餐。』瑯琊覺J34nB303_p0361a09頌云:『俱胝一指報君知,朝生鷂子搏天飛。若無舉鼎J34nB303_p0361a10拔山力,千里烏騅不易騎。』雪竇顯頌云:『對揚深愛老J34nB303_p0361a11俱胝,宇宙空來更有誰。曾向滄溟下浮木,夜濤相共J34nB303_p0361a12接盲龜。』」師云:「俱胝舉指,只知其一,不知其二。玄沙要J34nB303_p0361a13拗折,肘不外曲。長慶固善,因齋慶讚,滿口吐不盡。瑯J34nB303_p0361a14琊雖有定亂之能,且無出身之路。雪竇嘔盡心血,轉J34nB303_p0361a15見千里萬里。今日有人問著,劈脊便棒。若知痛癢者,J34nB303_p0361a16性命俱在渠手裏。」
J34nB303_p0361a17舉:「南嶽谷泉和尚訪慈明,慈明問曰:『白雲橫谷口,道J34nB303_p0361a18人何處來?』泉左右顧曰:『夜來何處火,燒出古人墳?』慈J34nB303_p0361a19明訶曰:『未在,更道。』泉作虎聲,明以坐具摵之,泉接住,J34nB303_p0361a20推明置禪床上,明卻作虎聲,泉大笑曰:『我見七十餘J34nB303_p0361a21員善知識,今日始遇作家。』」師云:「雲從龍,風從虎,但見J34nB303_p0361a22風雷,不分彼此。璣上座今日按下雲頭,為諸人入泥J34nB303_p0361a23入水。」擲拄杖云:「我行荒草裏,汝又入深村。」
J34nB303_p0361a24舉:「世尊因文殊起佛見、法見,被世尊威神攝向二鐵J34nB303_p0361a25圍山。」師云:「我當時若在,亦將世尊攝向二鐵圍山,一J34nB303_p0361a26任諸方道我不識好惡。」
J34nB303_p0361a27舉:「殃崛摩羅因持缽至一長者門,其家婦人正值產J34nB303_p0361a28難,長者曰:『瞿曇弟子!汝為至聖,當有何法能免產難J34nB303_p0361a29酖毒砒霜?』殃崛曰:『我乍入道,未知此法,待我回問世尊,卻J34nB303_p0361a30來相報放去較危,收來太速。』及返,具事白佛,佛告殃崛:『汝速去J34nB303_p0361b01報言:「我從賢聖法來,未曾殺生干戈競起。」』殃崛持佛語疾J34nB303_p0361b02往告之,其婦得聞,當時分娩特地一場愁。」師云:「長者只知J34nB303_p0361b03吟風弄月,不覺家醜自揚。殃崛雖是功歸王化,大煞J34nB303_p0361b04伐善施勞。」卓拄杖云:「且道世尊道什麼?」
J34nB303_p0361b05舉:「舍利弗問須菩提:『夢中說六波羅蜜,與覺時是同J34nB303_p0361b06是別?』須菩提云:『此意幽深,吾不能說。會中有彌勒大J34nB303_p0361b07士,汝往彼問。』雪竇顯云:『當時若不放過,隨後與一劄:J34nB303_p0361b08誰名彌勒?誰是彌勒者?便見冰消瓦解。』」師云:「一盲引J34nB303_p0361b09眾盲,相牽入火坑。」
J34nB303_p0361b10舉:「投子大同禪師在京赴檀越齋,檀越將一盤草來,J34nB303_p0361b11子拳兩手安頭上,檀越便將齋來。後有僧問:『和尚在J34nB303_p0361b12京投齋,意旨如何?』子曰:『觀世音菩薩。』」師云:「得人一牛,J34nB303_p0361b13還人一馬。雖然皮骨一般,要且頭角各異。諸人還識J34nB303_p0361b14投子麼?也是草裏漢。」
J34nB303_p0361b15舉:「昔有一婆子臨齋入趙州堂,云:『這一堂師僧總是J34nB303_p0361b16婆婆生得,秪有大底孩兒五逆不孝。』趙州纔顧視,婆J34nB303_p0361b17便出去。」師云:「婆子施盡六韜三略,至今四海未寧。趙J34nB303_p0361b18州運籌帷幄之中,決勝千里之外。」乃喝一喝,云:「聲色J34nB303_p0361b19之於以化民,末也。」
J34nB303_p0361b20舉:「盤山寶積禪師將順世,告眾曰:『有人邈得吾真不?』J34nB303_p0361b21眾將所寫真呈,皆不契山意。普化出曰:『某甲邈得。』山J34nB303_p0361b22曰:『何不呈似老僧?』化乃打筋斗而出。山曰:『這漢向後J34nB303_p0361b23掣風狂去在。』山乃奄化。」師云:「這漢生平似地擎山,如J34nB303_p0361b24石含玉,臨末稍頭自矢不覺臭,致令普化於潔淨地J34nB303_p0361b25上亂屙。雖然,也須大家知些氣息。」
J34nB303_p0361b26舉:「般若多羅尊者因東印度國王請齋次,王乃問:『諸J34nB303_p0361b27人盡轉經,尊者為甚不轉?』者云:『貧道出息不隨眾緣,J34nB303_p0361b28入息不居蘊界,嘗轉如是經百千萬億卷,非但一卷J34nB303_p0361b29兩卷。』汾陽昭云:『卻勞尊者心力。』」師云:「若人信受奉行,J34nB303_p0361b30定入鑊湯爐炭。汾陽道:『卻勞尊者心力。』是何言歟?」
J34nB303_p0361c01舉:「仰山慧寂禪師因有官人相訪,乃問:『官居何位?』曰:J34nB303_p0361c02『推官。』山豎起拂子曰:『還推得這箇麼?』官人無對。時三J34nB303_p0361c03聖在涅槃堂將息,山令侍者去請下語,聖曰:『但道和J34nB303_p0361c04尚今日有事。』又令侍者問:『未審有甚麼事?』聖曰:『載犯J34nB303_p0361c05不容。』」師云:「仰山因風吹火,全不顧自己眉毛;三聖雷J34nB303_p0361c06雨別施,益見彌天烈燄。諸人還覺頂門熱麼?」
J34nB303_p0361c07舉:「仰山一日指雪獅子云:『還有過此色者麼?』雲門云:J34nB303_p0361c08『當時便與推倒。』雪竇云:『只解推倒,不能扶起。』」師云:「這J34nB303_p0361c09兩個漢一起一倒,要且不知獅子來處。」乃卓拄杖云:J34nB303_p0361c10「甚處去也?」
J34nB303_p0361c11舉:「三角總印禪師,僧問:『如何是三寶?』印云:『禾、麥、豆。』曰:J34nB303_p0361c12『學人不會。』印云:『大眾欣然奉行。』」師云:「天寒日短,兩人J34nB303_p0361c13一碗。」
J34nB303_p0361c14舉:「馬祖一日問百丈:『甚麼處來?』丈曰:『山後來。』祖曰:『逢J34nB303_p0361c15著一人麼?』丈曰:『不逢著。』祖曰:『為甚麼不逢著?』丈曰:『若J34nB303_p0361c16逢著則舉似和尚。』祖曰:『甚處得這消息來?』丈曰:『某甲J34nB303_p0361c17罪過。』祖曰:『卻是老僧罪過。』」師云:「一人不曾逢著話,盡J34nB303_p0361c18山清水情。甚處得這消息來?兩口無一舌。父父子子J34nB303_p0361c19通身在罪過裏,究竟不知來處。」喝一喝,云:「逢人不得J34nB303_p0361c20錯舉。」
J34nB303_p0361c21舉:「趙州和尚行腳見二菴主,一人作丫角童,州問訊,J34nB303_p0361c22二人殊不顧看破了也。來日早晨,丫角童將一鐺飯來放J34nB303_p0361c23地上,分作三分熟處難忘。菴主將席子近前坐,丫角童亦J34nB303_p0361c24將席子近前相對坐,亦不喚州從前汗馬無人識,祗要重論蓋代功,州J34nB303_p0361c25乃亦將席子近前坐將錯就錯。丫角童目顧於州少賣弄,菴J34nB303_p0361c26主云:『莫云侵早起,更有夜行人過得荊棘林是好手。』州云:『何不J34nB303_p0361c27教詔這行者殺人可恕,情理難容?』菴主云:『他是人家男女明破即不J34nB303_p0361c28堪。』州云:『洎合放過險。』丫角童便起,顧視菴主曰:『多口J34nB303_p0361c29作麼?』從此入山不見阿誰恁麼道。」乃云:「終日喫飯,粒米未J34nB303_p0361c30曾咬著,入山更不再出,面目轉覺可憎。」擊禪床云:「還J34nB303_p0362a01見趙州麼?」
J34nB303_p0362a02舉:「池州稽山章禪師在投子作柴頭,投子一日送茶J34nB303_p0362a03與章,乃云:『森羅萬象總在裏許。』章遂潑卻,云:『森羅萬J34nB303_p0362a04象在什麼處?』子云:『可惜一碗茶。』」師云:「好一碗茶,不合J34nB303_p0362a05互添鹽醬。」卓拄杖,云:「如今還有知滋味者麼?正好將J34nB303_p0362a06來餧驢餧馬。」
J34nB303_p0362a07舉:「寒山因趙州到天台,行次,見牛跡,山乃問:『上座還J34nB303_p0362a08識牛麼?』州云:『不識。』山指牛跡云:『此是五百羅漢遊山。』J34nB303_p0362a09州云:『既是羅漢,為甚麼作牛去?』山云:『蒼天!蒼天!』州呵J34nB303_p0362a10呵大笑。山云:『笑作甚麼?』州云:『蒼天!蒼天!』山云:『這小廝J34nB303_p0362a11兒宛有大人之作。』」師云:「五百羅漢向異類中頭出頭J34nB303_p0362a12沒,拂跡跡生;寒山子於蒼天中更添冤苦,旁觀者哂。J34nB303_p0362a13趙州雖有大人之作,究竟還同小兒。璣上座恁麼道,J34nB303_p0362a14意在於何?」喝一喝。
J34nB303_p0362a15舉:「天台豐干禪師因寒山子問:『古鏡未磨時如何炤J34nB303_p0362a16燭?』干云:『冰壺無影像,猿猴探水月。』山云:『此是不炤燭J34nB303_p0362a17也,更請道。』干云:『萬德不將來,教我道什麼?』寒山、拾得J34nB303_p0362a18俱作禮而退。」師云:「古鏡未磨時,十方法界接影連輝,J34nB303_p0362a19說甚冰壺水月?古鏡已磨時,三世諸佛韜光匿跡,那J34nB303_p0362a20許萬德將來?諸人要識寒山子麼?打破鏡來,與汝相J34nB303_p0362a21見。」
J34nB303_p0362a22舉:「天台智者大師在南嶽誦《法華經》,至〈藥王品〉云:『是J34nB303_p0362a23真精進,是名真法供養如來。』於是悟法華三昧,獲旋J34nB303_p0362a24陀羅尼,見靈山一會儼然未散。」師云:「旋陀羅三昧人J34nB303_p0362a25人本自具足,終日於此三昧中承事恒沙諸佛,度脫J34nB303_p0362a26無量眾生,覓其承事度脫之相了不可得,更說甚麼J34nB303_p0362a27獲之與見?璣上座今日要問大眾:既是人人具足旋J34nB303_p0362a28陀羅尼三昧,眾生及佛又從甚處得來?」乃呵呵大笑J34nB303_p0362a29云:「當初秪道茅長短,燒了元來地不平。」
J34nB303_p0362a30舉:「天台拾得一日掃地次,寺主問:『汝名拾得,因豐干J34nB303_p0362b01拾得汝歸,汝畢竟名箇甚麼?姓箇甚麼?』拾得放下掃J34nB303_p0362b02帚,叉手而立。主再問,拾得拈起掃帚,掃地而去。寒山J34nB303_p0362b03椎胸云:『蒼天!蒼天!』拾得卻問:『汝作甚麼?』山云:『豈不見J34nB303_p0362b04道:「東家人死,西家助哀。」』二人乃作舞,笑哭而出。」師云:J34nB303_p0362b05「兩個漢道箇姓名,猶自忘前失後,更說甚東家人死,J34nB303_p0362b06西家助哀?直饒他換手椎胸,也是韓信臨朝底。」
J34nB303_p0362b07舉:「寒山預知溈山來國清受戒,遂與拾得往松門接J34nB303_p0362b08溈山。纔到,二人從路兩邊透出,作大虫吼三聲,溈山J34nB303_p0362b09屹然無對。寒山云:『自從靈山一別,迄至於今,還相記J34nB303_p0362b10麼?』溈山無對。拾得拈起拄杖云:『老兄喚者箇作什麼?』J34nB303_p0362b11溈山又無對。寒山云:『休!休!不用問他,自從別後,已曾J34nB303_p0362b12三生作國王來,總忘卻也。』」師云:「頹然尊貴,不無他三J34nB303_p0362b13朝天子。若論拄杖子,則眼見如盲,口說如啞。寒山、拾J34nB303_p0362b14得親從靈山來,秪呈得箇大虫伎倆。諸人早晚開單J34nB303_p0362b15展缽,也須照顧渠好。」
J34nB303_p0362b16舉:「僧問南泉:『父母未生時,鼻孔在什麼處?』泉云:『父母J34nB303_p0362b17既生時,鼻孔在什麼處?』」師云:「父母未生,鼻孔觸著磕J34nB303_p0362b18著;父母已生,鼻孔千里萬里。既是千里萬里,且道終J34nB303_p0362b19日向甚處出氣?」
J34nB303_p0362b20舉:「南泉巡堂次,牽一頭牛入堂,首座以手拊牛背一J34nB303_p0362b21下,泉便休去。趙州以草二束放在首座前。」師云:「大千J34nB303_p0362b22沙界,煙草凄凄,不合堂奧中傷苗犯稼,俾諸坐不垂J34nB303_p0362b23堂者入草出草,兩手將不盡拊背一下,捩轉鼻頭,雖J34nB303_p0362b24欲勿用,山川其舍諸?」
J34nB303_p0362b25舉:「龐居士賣漉籬,下橋喫撲,靈炤見,亦去爺邊倒上,J34nB303_p0362b26曰:『你作甚麼?』炤曰:『見爺倒,某甲相扶。』士曰:『賴是無人J34nB303_p0362b27見。』」師曰:「生本不生,死本不死,十目所視,十手所指,一J34nB303_p0362b28個破砂盆,兩人共扶起。」卓拄杖,云:「笑殺土地。」
J34nB303_p0362b29舉:「東山儲和尚示眾云:『昔有僧問欽山:「如何是和尚J34nB303_p0362b30家風?」山云:「錦繡銀香囊,風吹滿路香。」巖頭聞得,令僧J34nB303_p0362c01去云:「傳語十八子,好好事潘郎。」儲云:「欽山秪圖賣弄J34nB303_p0362c02風流,不顧魂消夢斷;巖頭雖然憲章國法,爭奈罪不J34nB303_p0362c03重科。」今日或有人問東山:「如何是和尚家風?」但向道:J34nB303_p0362c04「明知君不至,更上小樓頭。」顧左右云:「且道山僧恁麼J34nB303_p0362c05告報,意在甚麼處?」良久,擊竹篦一下,云:「頻呼小玉元J34nB303_p0362c06無事,秪要檀郎認得聲。」』」師云:「欽山、巖頭可謂難兄難J34nB303_p0362c07弟,不合將祖父赫奕家聲一時變為風花雪月,雖則J34nB303_p0362c08落落可觀,未免令見聞者心搖目眩。東山老漢只知J34nB303_p0362c09應物現形,竟忘入泥入水。璣上座不惜眉毛,分明道J34nB303_p0362c10破。」乃頌云:

J34nB303_p0363b07友湘居士昔與余同師先萬峰,得隨事解脫三昧。J34nB303_p0363b08暨和尚主夫椒,復日親罏韝。和尚以韜光故,肥遯J34nB303_p0363b09東山。友湘不遠千里,攀蘿直入相見,無一言及人J34nB303_p0363b10世,孜孜以乃事叩居士。有四郎,皆孝弟能文章,且J34nB303_p0363b11復甘糲如飴,落落聲光,宛爾龐家風味。今秋季,郎J34nB303_p0363b12榮祉始七齡,忽染疾,於百苦中猶能慰父母,作別J34nB303_p0363b13諸兄,懇父誦《般若經》。誦畢,復乞持觀音名號,即隨J34nB303_p0363b14聲而逝,其母若兄哭之慟。友湘請和尚法語,歸示J34nB303_p0363b15存歿,尋源及派,以至於余。愧余智謝曼殊,不能重J34nB303_p0363b16說偈言,闡至人微密,謹以本色住山語,用塞來命。J34nB303_p0363b17唯得意忘言,不以巴歌方雪曲可也。
J34nB303_p0363b18寺中因重塑伽藍,處士以元身悉解散。和尚至,J34nB303_p0363b25乃問左右云:「伽藍聻?」荅云:「一合相不可得。」復頌J34nB303_p0363b26曰:

J34nB303_p0364b02昔普化將示滅,乃入市謂人曰:「乞我一箇直裰。」人或J34nB303_p0364b03與披襖或布裘,皆不受,振鐸而去。臨濟令人送與一J34nB303_p0364b04棺,化笑曰:「臨濟廝兒饒舌。」便受之。璣木龕已就,時至J34nB303_p0364b05即行,並不振鐸,亦不緣化。日日是好日,三界十方無J34nB303_p0364b06有不是放身命處,不自擎棺而殼漏子終不怕爛,卻J34nB303_p0364b07何煩和尚於千里外遺我直裰?因書短偈以見意,非J34nB303_p0364b08敢云志古也。

J34nB303_p0364b20久處深山,凡薦新之品俱莫能得,閒有之,絕非人J34nB303_p0364b21間物也。偶別峰檀者供楊梅,見之愴然,因憶清素先J34nB303_p0364b22師寂後久不食之語,復念明、靜兩兄乍離故山,以J34nB303_p0364b23時思之,不無悲感。由是續偈,以識千古如一日也。

J34nB303_p0364b30連年兵荒相仍,不得其死者,不可勝紀。和尚痛心J34nB303_p0364c01疾首,已非朝夕。嘗言:「諸供養中,法供養最;諸波羅J34nB303_p0364c02蜜中,無相施為最。」欲罄衣缽之貲,作普利法施,途J34nB303_p0364c03次未遑。丁亥夏,始獲還山。孟秋朔,將酬前志,爰有J34nB303_p0364c04智悲大士二十四人,曲體至意,暫憩參承,轉雜華J34nB303_p0364c05脩多羅。二八寅夕,以中元自恣日告完,演揚瑜伽J34nB303_p0364c06法事。司事者以己孝思及人之父母,乃索璣先亡J34nB303_p0364c07名,設位薦祀。璣聞之,潸然悲感,嗚咽而言曰:「和尚J34nB303_p0364c08甫自發心,三有七趣,蒙益無量矣,何待今日於紙J34nB303_p0364c09墨上方沾法施乎?且大眾父母原有方廣之位,余J34nB303_p0364c10父母生承和尚無上之教,今日必隨眾同得解脫,J34nB303_p0364c11毋煩特地。」然大眾安位周旋,亦見事亡如存之意。J34nB303_p0364c12璣一關相限,吾不與祭,如不祭也。因占短偈以謝。

J34nB303_p0365a14諸法寂滅相,不可以言宣。說箇直提向上,已是拖J34nB303_p0365a20泥帶水了也,那堪隨波逐浪,於水上插紅旗邪?第J34nB303_p0365a21以水不洗水、金不博金,若不一口吸盡西江,而魚J34nB303_p0365a22龍鯨鯤,以至螄螺蚌蛤,那知通身都在水裏?從上J34nB303_p0365a23先德得這一滴子,便能隨地興波,俾三有七趣,十J34nB303_p0365a24目所視、十手所指,而瞠目不見底,飲者不從口入,J34nB303_p0365a25等閒平地摝魚蝦,海若龍神,亦不敢正眼覷著。是J34nB303_p0365a26以滹沱一脈,流長傳遠者,以其有源本也。然雖如J34nB303_p0365a27是,曹溪波浪如相似,無限行人被陸沉。故我和尚J34nB303_p0365a28雖承其派,而直揭其源,從上珍惜,一齊掃盡,同門J34nB303_p0365a29出入,起倒相隨者三十年,覓住處了不可得。勢不J34nB303_p0365a30獲已,垂一言半句,如以神珠投於濁水,濁水不得J34nB303_p0365b01不清也。雖清波無透路,一切聖凡生物,無不睹影J34nB303_p0365b02生慚。璣以抱病關中,不得時聆法誨,每獲一言一J34nB303_p0365b03字,喜不自勝,必和之以沙石塵土,非敢以蠡測海,J34nB303_p0365b04玷亂清規,欲使濯纓濯足者知所取也。雖於造物J34nB303_p0365b05者得潛神化,而孺子之歌成故事矣。因系之以偈。

J34nB303_p0365c27戊子夏五,和尚命諸兄登無路山,某以力不從心,J34nB303_p0365c28願有待也。復承慈訓,愛之能無勞乎?乃憤然勉曰:J34nB303_p0365c29「父命呼,唯而不諾,敢不自愛乎?」即理杖笠,馮風而J34nB303_p0365c30上,孤危險滑,欲罷不能,非過來人,難為告語。氣息J34nB303_p0366a01未定,忽怪鳥異獸,騰飛而至,毒惡之狀,無以為喻。J34nB303_p0366a02諦視思維,雖情想有異,非三毒盛者,不墮是類。乃J34nB303_p0366a03嚴整威儀,一以慈心攝諭。久之,毒惡潛消,馴若室J34nB303_p0366a04家雞犬,麾之即去,招之即來,物無異心者,不能為J34nB303_p0366a05害。嗟乎!嘗觀和尚之慈,誠所謂生知安行者,時復J34nB303_p0366a06恐其傷慈也。某未懷跂及,或抑日月至焉而已矣。J34nB303_p0366a07臨風思之,益深慚汗。復前行,至一嶄巖,巖口有一J34nB303_p0366a08小逕,款步而入,絲竹逆耳,蘭麝襲人,有若秦楚宮J34nB303_p0366a09室,幻化之境,不可勝紀。俄頃,陰雲下發,燐火上騰,J34nB303_p0366a10寒毛卓豎,不必夢中石女。某亦不施本分草料,略J34nB303_p0366a11振陽明之氣,而風境索然。逶迤前行,直躋絕頂,四J34nB303_p0366a12顧滄桑人物,彌切風濤之感。正仰止間,山靈出迎,J34nB303_p0366a13幽懷雅意,溢於形神之表,其晦育之氣,正未可以J34nB303_p0366a14涯際也。某亦不惜眉毛,或隨機啟發焉。因知勞謙J34nB303_p0366a15不深者,何以事高尚?忍力不厚者,難為樂歲寒。乃J34nB303_p0366a16若調御異類,攝化魔外,具智悲者,皆可為也。時杖J34nB303_p0366a17履告倦,思以寢息,迴顧一空處,即我起居室也。方J34nB303_p0366a18山曰:「無邊剎境,自他不隔於毫端;十世古今,始終J34nB303_p0366a19不移於當念,直影響邊事耳。」

J34nB303_p0367a11禹門躍出,拈得口兮失卻鼻,為雲為雨不惜眉毛,驅J34nB303_p0367a12雷掣電氣吞宇宙,俾海內獅猊麟象升堂入室,而自J34nB303_p0367a13我作祖若固有之,正唯弟子不能學也。芒鞋杖笠不J34nB303_p0367a14事人情,破家散宅絕處逢生,坐致太白峰,百廢並舉、J34nB303_p0367a15萬化從新,聖凡生物悉入鑪鞴中,斯皆師之緒餘耳,J34nB303_p0367a16未足云述。至於予奪炤用而喜怒不嘗,父子主賓而J34nB303_p0367a17同途異轍,具眼者不妨疑著。
J34nB303_p0367a18昔年普化,邈得師真,一回拈出一回新。天童門下,棒J34nB303_p0367a19下傳神,龍象蹴踏,夢裏惺惺。同床各夢者,夢破後神J34nB303_p0367a20今何在?開眼尿床者,枕子落拂跡跡生。漫言達本忘J34nB303_p0367a21情,尊貴還渠上大人。大而化之之謂聖,聖而不可知J34nB303_p0367a22之之謂神。觸著磕著,如塗毒鼓聲。書曰:「王言如絲,其J34nB303_p0367a23出如綸。」荷斯道者,須知後世有董狐之僧。

J34nB303_p0367a25何地特出斯人,俾造物者辟易。人人道渠攀躋無路,J34nB303_p0367a26殊不知未語前,開口見膽,屈體伸志,狼籍幾許眉光。J34nB303_p0367a27道大難容天下,操戈相待孤輝。心月影,現千江,魚龍J34nB303_p0367a28顧影生徬徨。今朝月隱千江黑,舟人漁子空悲憶。僧J34nB303_p0367a29繇智竭盡難成,萬有徒分百億身。

J34nB303_p0367b10看到父母未生前,有似一人,第眼中無骨,仰視五內,J34nB303_p0367b11而胸中無物,嘻笑怒罵,皆成文章,開口落筆,如愚若J34nB303_p0367b12訥,遺身為物,出入於無何有之鄉,以法為命,直造乎J34nB303_p0367b13不可知之地,一見更不再見,中心藏之,晝夜豈止一J34nB303_p0367b14百八。咦,如標月指,若復見月,了知所標,畢竟非月。

J34nB303_p0367b16驀劄相逢,已見全身出現。鼻頭捩轉,浩然之氣。若為J34nB303_p0367b17保調,直饒呼為雷、吸為雨,襲襲清風動寰宇。我要問J34nB303_p0367b18渠,五蘊十八界生處。道得生處分明,一舉四十九侍J34nB303_p0367b19者,尚宜朝夕。

J34nB303_p0367b21袖手看雲,風高絕鄰。三千里外,有個知音。還鄉一曲,J34nB303_p0367b22調別宮商。明日大悲,院裏有齋。普化昔年露布,叩關J34nB303_p0367b23擊節者,惜取眉毛。

J34nB303_p0367b25出頭天外,固有同人,第兩口一無舌,腳跟下事,吾無J34nB303_p0367b26間然矣。然雲月是同,溪山各異,而步武者其為誰乎?J34nB303_p0367b27昔楊岐領石霜之旨,乃道遍天下,普化邈寶,積真而J34nB303_p0367b28風化千古。傳曰:「舜何人也?予何人也?有為者亦若是。」

J34nB303_p0368a11己卯春,和尚還里,修摩耶忉利故事,某時得預隨J34nB303_p0368a12侍之列。舟次七樹村,風雨疾作,櫂不能前,因憩於J34nB303_p0368a13古廟中。四壁蕭瑟,惟草龕朽榻而已。寢時,和尚據J34nB303_p0368a14榻,余輩就龕,古白、儀伯兩兄先我而處焉。亡何,狂J34nB303_p0368a15雪倍作,兩兄聲容斂寂,呼之不應,撼之不移。余訝J34nB303_p0368a16曰:「入寂滅定耶?入無聲三昧耶?厭離形器,就無生J34nB303_p0368a17耶?果爾,當如法火化。」兩兄曰:「火則任火,出則不出。」J34nB303_p0368a18余即事生如死,珍重而火之。舉畢,有讓余者曰:「學J34nB303_p0368a19道人固不以生死動心,然從上先德莫不以生死J34nB303_p0368a20為極則事,作俑無後儒亦譏之。子斯之作,殆無過J34nB303_p0368a21歟?」余唯唯否否。衲僧家既達本地風光,觀一切聖J34nB303_p0368a22凡,無一不於如幻三昧中起居食息,出生入死。今J34nB303_p0368a23兩兄於如幻三昧中瞌睡未醒,余以如幻之法冷J34nB303_p0368a24處著火,正欲明吾子之如幻三昧耳。嘗讀古僧史,J34nB303_p0368a25見死心新和尚謝院事,退居靖安琚公席下,日相J34nB303_p0368a26與禪悅為樂。琚一日命死心侍者惠方述文以祭J34nB303_p0368a27之,死心危坐一榻,神觀自若,緇素環侍,而其文光J34nB303_p0368a28明璀燦,字字發揮。乃事後羅湖云:「死心生平呵佛J34nB303_p0368a29罵祖,氣蓋諸方,叢林目為新孟八。及退藏於密,則J34nB303_p0368a30自處固不輕矣,而於師弟之間,乃為兒戲事,又烏J34nB303_p0368b01可以常情測度哉?」余雖不敏,亦未敢多讓,曰:「子能J34nB303_p0368b02自火乎?」余謹拜命而自火之。恐持名記相者,復於J34nB303_p0368b03名上著到,名亦火之;逐影之流,又於影上著到,影J34nB303_p0368b04亦火之。袛如身心名影,一時火卻,且道這箇又從J34nB303_p0368b05甚處得來?具眼者試請辨看。

J34nB303_p0368b12呈起火炬,云:「咄!惺惺著,恁麼也不得,不恁麼也不得,J34nB303_p0368b13恁麼不恁麼總不得。」以火炬打圓相,云:「不是溈山小J34nB303_p0368b14釋迦,何如臨濟白拈賊?」擲下火炬,云:「可憐不足惜。」

J34nB303_p0368b16「四大無我,五蘊本空,根塵器界,如幻泡影,三身四智,J34nB303_p0368b17從甚處出生?生既無生,滅云何滅?曠劫至今,於無生J34nB303_p0368b18滅中關空鎖夢,今朝夢破空亡,直得盡十方界烈燄J34nB303_p0368b19彌天,三世諸佛不惜眉毛,於中頭出頭沒。」乃舉火炬J34nB303_p0368b20云:「畢竟這箇在十方界內?十方界外?若在十方界內,J34nB303_p0368b21則火不自燒;在十方界外,則火外無火。」投火炬云:「滿J34nB303_p0368b22口道不盡,分身兩處看。」

J34nB303_p0368b24「二人同心,其利斷金;一箭墮地,天下黯黑。同生也,冰J34nB303_p0368b25凌上行,劍刃上走;同死也,東家作驢,西家作馬。袛如J34nB303_p0368b26同生不同死時又作麼生?」擲下火炬,云:「霜天月落夜J34nB303_p0368b27將半,誰共澄潭炤影寒?」

J34nB303_p0368b29呈起火炬,云:「見麼?描也描不成,畫也畫不就。」以火炬J34nB303_p0368b30作此[※-((鬯-匕)-凶)+○],云:「相隨來也,惟我用光。行者生而敏捷,不局J34nB303_p0368c01一隅。無論六道三塗,隨身化道;不拘山川草木,應物J34nB303_p0368c02現形。或我起而他倒,或他立而我坐。有時小中現大,J34nB303_p0368c03則鬼面神頭;有時大中現小,則旁通一線。有時入泥J34nB303_p0368c04入水,覿面相呈;有時戴月乘風,透關越渡。青天白日J34nB303_p0368c05處,全身出現;黑風暴雨時,佛祖難窺。雖然炤用齊行,J34nB303_p0368c06未免依他作解。今朝人法雙忘,轉見無明忒煞。便恁J34nB303_p0368c07麼去,恐成斷絕。畢竟作麼生?」擲下火炬,云:「不許夜行,J34nB303_p0368c08投明須到。」
因事十六問有敘
J34nB303_p0368c10香嚴菴主,不知承誰家法,一向隱形露體,以嘗住J34nB303_p0368c11物歸衣缽下。凡立業成家者,無不望風避地,日積J34nB303_p0368c12月累,雖不能四海一家,而腳跟下已饒餘地。居無J34nB303_p0368c13何,而客作者致賊來家,香積之資,一時盜去。同人J34nB303_p0368c14欲追捕,乃慰曰:「出乎爾者,反乎爾者也,復何憾焉?」J34nB303_p0368c15病僧聞之,書十六問以博笑,如大海不讓細流,幸J34nB303_p0368c16一一答我,俾志於道者,因指見月,不致認賊作子,J34nB303_p0368c17是所願望。

J34nB303_p0369a11瑞巖,香嚴所居,密邇惺惺石上,滿口含霜,主人公聲J34nB303_p0369a12聲應諾。他時後日則且置,即今因甚受人謾?
J34nB303_p0369a13近有五六賊子,時時逐境乘風,盜人家寶,亦能露體J34nB303_p0369a14隱形,應機接物。病僧若據令而行,一個個教渠口挂J34nB303_p0369a15壁上。如今不識好惡者多,且自坐觀成敗。香嚴既有J34nB303_p0369a16不欺之力,因甚當斷不斷?
J34nB303_p0369a17家無小使,不成君子。奴兒婢子,畢竟少不得。往往致J34nB303_p0369a18賊來家,則情理難容。若不翻轉面皮,如何得家國安J34nB303_p0369a19寧去?
J34nB303_p0369a20十八界賊,出沒無時。去後來先者,鑊湯無冷處。有國J34nB303_p0369a21有家者,眉毛鼻孔不足惜。草鞋拄杖邊,不得草草。
復口占二偈

J34nB303_p0369a28伏以曹溪派衍,淵淵於無住而生;東山道振,步步從J34nB303_p0369a29石頭路滑。百丈衍大義而開田,不作不食;雪峰擇法J34nB303_p0369a30眼於菜葉,亙古亙今。歷觀從上先德,未有不從眾藝J34nB303_p0369b01門而一飽忘百饑、不事事而流長傳遠者。雖至尊在J34nB303_p0369b02日,未免馬麥終朝;金粟載來,猶然請飯香積。信乎!法J34nB303_p0369b03輪未轉,食輪先轉矣。惟我和尚竭四體之勤、秉單傳J34nB303_p0369b04之令,不插標建剎,寶所隨身;不運钁揮斤,平田遍野。J34nB303_p0369b05粟棘蓬,深味飽餐,不容口入;銕酸餡,橫拈倒把,下手J34nB303_p0369b06無從。大矣哉!一雨普滋;奈之何?根苗有異。某等既不J34nB303_p0369b07克振家聲,奚復坐觀成敗?有五人焉,同心協力,舍其J34nB303_p0369b08揖讓,追盧老之風;忘爾勞謙,理演師之調。毋煩擊三J34nB303_p0369b09下,碓嘴生花;敢辭旋一匝,通身汗出。寶惜放下,謹披J34nB303_p0369b10下載清風;葉落歸根,敬啟來時無口。敢冀和尚垂山J34nB303_p0369b11海之容、鑑芻蕘之懇,或作金牛飯普濟十方、或為雲J34nB303_p0369b12門餅和盤托出,俾人間天上無饑餒之憂、佛國魔宮J34nB303_p0369b13誦飽餐之德。若夫施者不名福田、供者墮三惡道,離J34nB303_p0369b14清淨法、不到彼岸,隨業受報,復何辭焉?
古頌選小序
J34nB303_p0369b16癸未春王,以沈酣病廢,扶風曳杖,循乞人間聖制,時J34nB303_p0369b17因館於東甌之日新寺。寺近城隍,而青山在目,流水J34nB303_p0369b18遶戶,古木蔽日,幽鳥近人,宛爾山林風味。主者亦雅J34nB303_p0369b19澹,且多經傳,長夏無事,杖履蕭然。瞌睡之餘,日讀古J34nB303_p0369b20僧史一二則,以為茗碗藥罏,其機緣偈頌多有未睹J34nB303_p0369b21聞者。每開卷,無問佛祖魔外、酖毒醍醐,凡爽心快口,J34nB303_p0369b22能醉人、能醒人、能奪人目光、能墮人意解者,輒為點J34nB303_p0369b23額。無何,西風落木,萬戶擣衣,霜雪零離,破衲不禁夜J34nB303_p0369b24冷。因思山中水牯牛、地罏邊頭角何似?復顧臂長袂J34nB303_p0369b25短,何以展水草之私?用命管摭點額者若干則,用作J34nB303_p0369b26還山時異鄉物色。嘻!金屑雖貴,落眼成翳,知我罪我,J34nB303_p0369b27我何辭焉?惟隻眼具者,不於水中見月,則盆盎池沼J34nB303_p0369b28覿面全提,林野城寰孤輝洞耀,何必窮四海水、周大J34nB303_p0369b29千界而後為得也?雖然,若遇卒風暴雨時,更宜珍重J34nB303_p0369b30腳下。
讀松門軼草
J34nB303_p0369c02嘗聞古之為人臣子者,袛知有君父,不知有己身。夙J34nB303_p0369c03興夜寐,惟慮君父之德教不章,化被不廣。得一善則J34nB303_p0369c04拳拳服膺,喜而不昧;聞一過則曉夜憂惶,以思幾諫。J34nB303_p0369c05見志不從,又敬不違,勞而不怨。雖至殺身去國,唯念J34nB303_p0369c06己之忠誠未盡,不能格君心之非,曾不以過咎歸之J34nB303_p0369c07君父也。其耿耿之衷,不求聞達於人,自千古不滅。蓋J34nB303_p0369c08人之經常為易,處變為難。是以大虞之事父母,柳甯J34nB303_p0369c09之經邦國,孔孟之中心悅而誠服者,以其處變之不J34nB303_p0369c10異也。使於盛明之世,國有聖君良佐,家有賢父兄,雖J34nB303_p0369c11中下之士,皆可勉之為忠孝,以經嘗之易也。故曰:「歲J34nB303_p0369c12寒然後知松柏之後凋也,時難乃見君子之用心也。」J34nB303_p0369c13乙酉夏四月,和尚以父命出山,途驚國變。其間蹈白J34nB303_p0369c14刃,冒霜雪,艱危險阻,無入而不自得者,不可勝紀。若J34nB303_p0369c15乃皇皇焉以君國為憂、道法為任,視天下如一家、觀J34nB303_p0369c16萬有如一體,以致身命之所不惜、孝義之所惓惓者,J34nB303_p0369c17自有呵護者冥識,豈小子所能述哉?歲二周,旋錫還J34nB303_p0369c18山,相對於邑,不能成語,欷歔慨息,仍以君國道法為J34nB303_p0369c19言,無一言及他事。次日,侍者堅公以松門軼草及白J34nB303_p0369c20華諸頌見示,病不能閱。旬日後,扶病展讀,卷未終口,J34nB303_p0369c21而悲感交切。嗟乎!為人子弟者,不能分憂任事,拾遺J34nB303_p0369c22補過,以顯父師之德,雖生猶罔生也。然道人行藏,形J34nB303_p0369c23同幻出,心如太虛,舌頭不出口而言滿天下,腳跟不J34nB303_p0369c24點地而身遍十方,何得失毀譽之高下乎?第使後之J34nB303_p0369c25學者,見勺水而知有全潮,亦吾輩存心之一端也,抑J34nB303_p0369c26亦萬行中攝化之一事也。不惟使流蕩忘返者知有J34nB303_p0369c27源本,亦使唯我獨尊者有所矜式。如其人人說取所J34nB303_p0369c28行,行取所說,何慮吾道之不光大乎?某以抱病關中,J34nB303_p0369c29不預隨侍之列,因書即事之梗概爾。

J34nB303_p0370a02璣合十百拜方丈和尚足下。自杖履出山,陰雨逾月,J34nB303_p0370a03而境風飄忽,聞問千殊。山中人瞻雲望日,寢食徬徨。J34nB303_p0370a04和尚業在其中,無入而不自得。然不借草鞋者,得無J34nB303_p0370a05苦其沾濡乎?即日大地如炙,法身尤宜珍重。雖曰孝J34nB303_p0370a06名為戒,四大無我意者,涉險登危,亦非所以慰二大J34nB303_p0370a07人之至意也。承和尚之蔭,台中二麥皆稔,二禾亦見J34nB303_p0370a08有秋。璣無日不病,飲食無日不進,饅頭䭔子不以筋J34nB303_p0370a09骨為能,亦自消得。去此別後,差足慰和尚垂念者。言J34nB303_p0370a10不達意,伏惟以時珍育,無任依切。乙酉夏寄玄墓

J34nB303_p0370a17伏枕違慈,俯仰已三百日,陽燄陰霾,曉夕百變,杳不J34nB303_p0370a18得法音。某回,恍如夢寐,禮審起居,伏讀法語,及聞尊J34nB303_p0370a19大人棄世,感傷萬狀,欲罷不能。和尚為親出山,未得J34nB303_p0370a20一見,終天之痛,豈止一人?嗟乎!人各有父,幸無以一J34nB303_p0370a21人之父哀毀過禮,而不顧萬有之父。仰冀垂慈,勉為J34nB303_p0370a22保愛。隨侍諸兄此行,計有大進益。處深山窮谷中,冷J34nB303_p0370a23坐億劫,不如冰凌劍刃上,履踐一朝。語云:不遇槃根J34nB303_p0370a24錯節,何以別利器?璣同業別報,不預斯會,有生闕陷J34nB303_p0370a25事也。何時復見慈顏?一叩諸侍兄草鞋邊事。丙戌春寄通州
J34nB303_p0370a26正月中某行,曾有書附,冀慰和尚哀戚於萬一。又以J34nB303_p0370a27道途修阻,未果上達,遂使中心之藏,鬱而不展。自後J34nB303_p0370a28計日計程,企望缾錫。奈何波闊煙深,聞問不一。山中J34nB303_p0370a29一眾,曉夜憂惶,不安坐臥。某至,知悲力周應而佳健,J34nB303_p0370a30始解憂惑,仍知尊大人柩已如法安厝。此固未足舒J34nB303_p0370b01和尚孝誠,然於無佛處稱尊者,亦自開化不少矣。未J34nB303_p0370b02密脩摩耶忉利故事,大慈聖母能厭於懷耶?轉身一J34nB303_p0370b03句,世尊昔日通身是口,九旬始得瞥地,和尚寧無過J34nB303_p0370b04之?又聞因行掉臂,江淮四眾受益良深。雖屬因緣時J34nB303_p0370b05節,誠知和尚愍於不得已也。及某回,備述途中風境,J34nB303_p0370b06究不知和尚及諸侍兄安居何所?暑中寢膳何似?言J34nB303_p0370b07外之旨,深究力行者,緇素中復得幾人?瞻往視來,甚J34nB303_p0370b08切懷慮。今者西風落木,四海知秋,伏冀以時飛錫。璣J34nB303_p0370b09仲春初夏間,舊病時作,眠食俱損,似不能待覲慈顏J34nB303_p0370b10矣。五月至今,隱而不發,或有遲遲之意乎?總之,泡幻J34nB303_p0370b11之質,而時會若此,逆順縱橫,一聽風雲之便。和尚幸J34nB303_p0370b12無致慈念,唯冀痛念從上慧命,若時珍攝,以副群生J34nB303_p0370b13之望,是所切禱。丙戌春同寄
J34nB303_p0370b14承手命,知牯牛水草如常,蹄角不異小牛兒,夢裏惺J34nB303_p0370b15惺,喜而不寐,所遺憂者,猶隔津也。如云靠倒扶起,遇J34nB303_p0370b16賤即貴,遇貴即賤,死中有活,活中有死,如人飲水,冷J34nB303_p0370b17煖自知,同鼻孔者不多得。孔子有言:「可與共學,未可J34nB303_p0370b18與適道;可與適道,未可與立;可與立,未可與權。」今人J34nB303_p0370b19學立適道,風恬浪靜時,尚多倚門傍戶,所以適權處J34nB303_p0370b20變,非執一不通,則隨風上下矣。蓋為不識鉤頭輕重,J34nB303_p0370b21故疑權之不定也。故曰:「陽春白雪,和者應希。」矧巴歌J34nB303_p0370b22競作之時,而引商刻羽,雜以流徵,同聲者固宜寡矣。J34nB303_p0370b23老牧翁雖云一向沒頭腦,然曳耙牽犁,畢竟索頭在J34nB303_p0370b24阿誰手裏?谿西谿東,何往而非牧地?但得口邊新新J34nB303_p0370b25無住,足下步步無私,析髓分皮,亦不足惜。若夫隨分J34nB303_p0370b26納些些,所謂醍醐毒藥,一道而行,殺人活人,間不容J34nB303_p0370b27髮,司牧者極宜珍慎。大家相聚喫莖虀,何日得遂?萬J34nB303_p0370b28一將錯就錯,亂雲堆裏買菜作虀,縱饒生處生生不J34nB303_p0370b29已、熟處匙挑不上,似不宜於今日衰病之質打瞌睡,J34nB303_p0370b30尚自忘前失後,第一義、第二念何暇計也?是以和尚J34nB303_p0370c01出山二載,南鴻北鴈,觸目驚心,無量感懷,曾不得以J34nB303_p0370c02一言書識,徒自提嬰撫赤,以圖載覲慈顏,獲一笑也。J34nB303_p0370c03承示雪舟法語及諸侍兄遠懷之作,讀之益深感愧,J34nB303_p0370c04何同風千里而溫涼之不同耶?寸中百結,何以自解?J34nB303_p0370c05諸兄之愛,其誠於中、形於外者,雖言不盡意,三十年J34nB303_p0370c06後寒冰發燄,或可酬也。至於默而識之,一言不發者,J34nB303_p0370c07隱衷之愛,沒齒亦不能報也。語云:「遠思以觀其忠,近J34nB303_p0370c08使以觀其敬。」久而愈敬者,未免道恁麼說話三段不J34nB303_p0370c09同,甚非子弟上尊長者,況和尚乎?雖然,家富小兒驕,J34nB303_p0370c10不妨借婆帔子拜婆年,等閒絕倒旁觀,亦不是分外J34nB303_p0370c11時寒起居。伏惟珍重。秋寄靈巖
J34nB303_p0370c12璣稽首言:道人家出處,原無固必,唯義所在。是以風J34nB303_p0370c13穴單丁法昌,為木羅漢說法,高風道法,與嘗隨千二J34nB303_p0370c14百眾諸祖,並傳後世。故禹、稷當平世,三過不入,孔子J34nB303_p0370c15賢之。顏子當亂世,居陋巷,一簞一瓢,不改其樂,孔子J34nB303_p0370c16賢之。孟子曰:「禹、稷、顏回同道。」又曰:「易地則皆然。」璣嘗J34nB303_p0370c17沉思諦觀,方今法運向季,人根繇之時會若此。學道J34nB303_p0370c18人若行若藏,必先定其遠者大者,權其近者小者。遠J34nB303_p0370c19大者有定,雖日月薄蝕,風雨飄搖,形影或有參差,枝J34nB303_p0370c20葉或有零落,其中心樹子,則愈堅密矣,蓋藏深養厚J34nB303_p0370c21故也。如遠大者無定,雖枝葉扶疏,形影上下,一朝風J34nB303_p0370c22雨霜雪,未有能挺然秀立者矣,蓋以根本不深固也。J34nB303_p0370c23故曰:「天之生物,必因其材而篤焉。」故栽者培之,傾者J34nB303_p0370c24覆之。今之學道者,無不欲栽培養育,而欲速之心未J34nB303_p0370c25忘,則與揠苗者近矣。所以從上有道之士,根本既堅J34nB303_p0370c26固,藏養既深厚,然後舒其遠大之志,無問世途夷險,J34nB303_p0370c27孜孜以弘法為任,雖時緣不稔,土地無緣,三十年求J34nB303_p0370c28一舉話者不可得,加之有司嫌責,以非意擾之,以至J34nB303_p0370c29篆面鞭背,殞身沒命,其弘法之心愈自光大。更有一J34nB303_p0370c30種道人,頭角已完固,氣血已充足,爪牙已獰利,鱗甲J34nB303_p0371a01已璀燦,風雷已震動,乃不顧雨雲,於無陰陽地上刀J34nB303_p0371a02耕火種,雖居不蔽風日,衣不蔽四體,飲冰茹荼,超然J34nB303_p0371a03自得,雖王侯推轂、天子恭迎,以至天人送供、百鳥銜J34nB303_p0371a04花,唯示以本分草料,若身若心了不起顧,但於钁頭J34nB303_p0371a05邊得一個半個六根不具、八識不全者以售己志,雖J34nB303_p0371a06至苗而不秀、秀而不實,沒世不見知而不悔。此二種J34nB303_p0371a07道人皆以法命為重,色身名譽為輕者。璣雖蒙和尚J34nB303_p0371a08薰陶化育,先一種,璣固不敢學也;後一種,志慕而不J34nB303_p0371a09能學也。若夫陶融氣質,保固根本,光大心志,乃願世J34nB303_p0371a10世生生承事知識,陸沉眾中,切磋琢磨也。入關已來,J34nB303_p0371a11百事病廢,懶癖日增,江山悠邈,會晤難期,因某行,特J34nB303_p0371a12書硜硜以復。
J34nB303_p0371a13璣夙修未逮廿餘年,汩沒風塵,雖出家之志久畜,而J34nB303_p0371a14求全之心未忘。幸遇和尚一言開發,得出火宅,得見J34nB303_p0371a15至人,得聞至道。又以福薄緣慳,至人早逝,悲哀感痛,J34nB303_p0371a16忽忽忘生,志將守片石以讎遺命,以畢餘生,和尚嘗J34nB303_p0371a17深嘉勉。無何境風飄忽,致違最後微言,寸中百裂,無J34nB303_p0371a18所適從,意將於舉目無親處,自耕自牧,作自了計。承J34nB303_p0371a19和尚痛念一本,俯為收攝,璣亦葉落歸根,願為執巾J34nB303_p0371a20荷钁,以報高厚於萬一。復蒙雨露無私,霜雪有加,使J34nB303_p0371a21璣體露金風,不與蒲蘆同委。奈何樗朽之質,不堪雕J34nB303_p0371a22琢,有孤郢匠斧斤。語云:「報生以死,報賜以力。」蓋所生J34nB303_p0371a23不過色身,所賜不過世物,而報者乃致以死力,而況J34nB303_p0371a24生我法身,育我慧命者乎?且璣自幼多病,失事詩書,J34nB303_p0371a25今日一言一字,無不從和尚罏韝中來。傳曰:「君之視J34nB303_p0371a26臣如手足,則臣視君如腹心。」和尚視璣猶子,今一息J34nB303_p0371a27尚存,何敢自棄自外,而不盡其慺慺?故前二紙,曲陳J34nB303_p0371a28固陋。竊惟和尚去祥符,入天台,以至俯從眾請,去能J34nB303_p0371a29仁,主國清,其心志願力,可與日月爭光,難為世人一J34nB303_p0371a30二言。似去歲以師恩親命,枉志出山,不意陵谷變遷,J34nB303_p0371b01并汾信絕,故和尚勉應諸剎之請,雖千眾圍遶,萬指J34nB303_p0371b02皈依,知和尚愍於不得已也,皆非本志。至於不受奉J34nB303_p0371b03重,舍其尊貴,於冰凌劍刃上,逆行順行,決意入山,甘J34nB303_p0371b04饑寒枯淡,此誠和尚志願也。前見與濯師書,辭靈鷲J34nB303_p0371b05之請,所論極長。不日監院印師出山,面請定奪,如理J34nB303_p0371b06事無礙,人我有益,義無不可。如眾中有發大心者,誓J34nB303_p0371b07捐軀命之殼,任事勤勞,雖風雨霜雪不改節操,使和J34nB303_p0371b08尚不識不知,巍然方丈,亦無不可。如徇其一時誠懇,J34nB303_p0371b09屈其終身志願,勞心勞力,役己役人,或宜斟酌。嘗思J34nB303_p0371b10人生於世,無論智愚賢不肖,未有不事勤苦憂勞而J34nB303_p0371b11能成立者。出家兒既割愛辭親,趣向上一路,縱有饑J34nB303_p0371b12寒勤勞,時勢掣肘,皆為進道育德之門戶。復思學道J34nB303_p0371b13人舉止言行,求於己者不宜看難,看難則依回姑息,J34nB303_p0371b14不能登高臨深;任於人者不宜看易,看易如事出意J34nB303_p0371b15外,難以原始要終。然求於己者不得,猶可脩為奮發;J34nB303_p0371b16任於人者不終,則失彼仰望。或有久事溫飽安逸者,J34nB303_p0371b17欲從入山,乞和尚暫脫珍御,略為開諭萬一。和尚以J34nB303_p0371b18印師半生勤苦,五載拳拳,辭受之間,尤宜慎審。璣十J34nB303_p0371b19餘年承事和尚,凡遇移花接木,曾不敢以一言損益,J34nB303_p0371b20蓋以不諳人情世故,不達機權炤用也。今以幻泡之J34nB303_p0371b21質,生滅無常,以蠡測海,私憂過計。先哲有言:「大人者,J34nB303_p0371b22言不必信,行不必果,唯義所在。」誠如義之所在,亦不J34nB303_p0371b23必以璣言為輕重也。更有啟者,當今之世,嶢嶢者易J34nB303_p0371b24缺,皦皦者易汙,開口落筆,遠志高風,似不宜露,毋使J34nB303_p0371b25冷眼熱中者聞之寒毛卓豎。璣嘗有言:「時會若此,口J34nB303_p0371b26秪堪喫飯,身秪堪鼾睡。如年歲不登,無米羹纓絡粥,J34nB303_p0371b27亦是祖宗傳家之法;若夫鼾睡,但得胸中無事,心血J34nB303_p0371b28有餘,亦不關于歲之豐儉也。」狂惑之言,伏惟亮采。
J34nB303_p0371b29傳曰:「君子動而世為天下道,行而世為天下法,言而J34nB303_p0371b30世為天下則。」遠之則有望,近之則不厭。甚矣!大人語J34nB303_p0371c01默動靜之不易也。璣嘗思時會,若此道人家,除直提J34nB303_p0371c02向上外,筆舌似宜潛神而養懶拙。如萬不得已,當借J34nB303_p0371c03狸奴面孔,略行點畫。雖具狸奴面孔,而風韻固超邁,J34nB303_p0371c04亦宜少落人間。從上先德,平生如大火聚,後代尚有J34nB303_p0371c05流入詩文藝學者。若放一線道,合水和泥,欲為之後J34nB303_p0371c06者,滴水滴凍,不綦難乎?雖曰嬉笑怒罵,原不在空處,J34nB303_p0371c07第恐無上醍醐,遇斯等人,翻成毒藥。伏惟和尚,以時J34nB303_p0371c08珍重。佛事閱歲嘗新,應酬無有竟已。和尚既入山之J34nB303_p0371c09志不移,乞早歸為第一義。隨侍諸師,亦宜勤誠而多J34nB303_p0371c10閒靜,曉事而如愚訥,斯為美善。方今同心者不多得,J34nB303_p0371c11熱中者或有之,不得不慎也。雖鼻孔端正,苟以勤誠J34nB303_p0371c12曉事自居,一眾側目以待,深為不便。人情如水,能載J34nB303_p0371c13舟亦能覆舟。雖云於心無愧,水脈來風,極宜諳辨。大J34nB303_p0371c14都出家兒,誠能步步踏佛階梯,念念如救頭然,所聞J34nB303_p0371c15逆耳之言,如飲醍醐甘露,縱有爍金之毀,不求銷而J34nB303_p0371c16自銷矣!初不在周至人事,先意問訊而求全也。然和J34nB303_p0371c17尚自有至鑒,何煩璣之慺慺?顧諸師之素愛璣,不啻J34nB303_p0371c18手足。璣雖木石無心,亦不敢以病廢。自外凡入山者,J34nB303_p0371c19無不言其承順揖讓,第以欣戚相關,又不能不察言J34nB303_p0371c20觀色於意言之外也。無德空言,統祈慈炤。已上三書,丙戌冬寄婁東。
J34nB303_p0371c21某上人西上迎錫,影侍者問:「和尚前有字達否?」璣沉J34nB303_p0371c22默久之,不能荅。有間復問,璣曰:「三藏十二部,一切修J34nB303_p0371c23多羅,以致教外別傳,無文空印,縱饒點畫不遺,何異J34nB303_p0371c24運水以貢河伯?雲無心以出岫,鳥倦飛而知還。腳跟J34nB303_p0371c25下事,直不藏曲,躬行實踐者,復得幾人?是所憂也,何J34nB303_p0371c26敢言也?法運向衰,人根日劣,從上慧命如絲,惟冀珍J34nB303_p0371c27育法身,以副天人之望。言意雖切,比日亦成汎嘗。若J34nB303_p0371c28夫山門廚庫,寤寐未懷,雙澗五峰,滴水滴凍,總教目J34nB303_p0371c29斷雲山,非璣所欲言也。」影唯然曰:「辭達而已矣,何以J34nB303_p0371c30文為?」請書此以見不言之意。即日璣載頓首。
J34nB303_p0372a01即日孟春猶寒,伏惟尊候萬福。隨侍清眾即寓安隱J34nB303_p0372a02否?法無定相,遇緣即宗,自是衲僧家尋常步履。然遇J34nB303_p0372a03抽爻遜位,則幾多人疑著?直饒洞視無間者,未免道J34nB303_p0372a04木上座兩口無一舌。日月麗天,入山猶嫌淺近;煙氛J34nB303_p0372a05載道,逢場豈易馳驅?此語已遍天下,何必重說偈言?J34nB303_p0372a06第恐著靴冰上立者,畏石頭路滑;御飯亦吐者,吞鐵J34nB303_p0372a07糝餡難。主人公就下平高,暫為姑息計。果能持書不J34nB303_p0372a08到家,風行雷動,已屬功勳邊事;若乃紅旗閃爍時,點J34nB303_p0372a09著便轉,豈止道路善為?去此二途,乞舜若多代一轉J34nB303_p0372a10語,以解杞人憂惑。
J34nB303_p0372a11去歲兩承侍師發藥,俱領到。久病得良藥,開慰何可J34nB303_p0372a12言?似每至萬籟俱寂、塵境未形時,咀嚼一片,宛轉而J34nB303_p0372a13不能下咽也。切惟寒灰難以發焰、枯木不復生花,朝J34nB303_p0372a14夕兢兢,恐終孤化育。雖曰罏鞴之所多鈍鐵、良醫之J34nB303_p0372a15門足病人,撫今追昔,其如自赧何?國清門下固然言J34nB303_p0372a16無味、食無味,而無相靈丹直是一生服不盡幻泡之J34nB303_p0372a17質,毋勞和尚致慈念也。已上三書,丁亥春寄祥符。
和尚還山上書
J34nB303_p0372a19病中不解忌口,而口秪堪喫飯。聞堂中起精進七,伏J34nB303_p0372a20聽好音,不啻寒餒之冀衣食。復聞力參者書偈呈解,J34nB303_p0372a21殊為助喜,乃扶病命穎依樣畫貓兒以作藥石。雖不J34nB303_p0372a22識其青黃赤白,想亦不外大虫面孔。第腕病無力,不J34nB303_p0372a23知鼻孔眉毛可能彷彿如依稀相似。俟秋成時,安向J34nB303_p0372a24太倉頭,俾典守者不事封藏,而白拈之徒亦知忌避,J34nB303_p0372a25雀兒鼠子不言而喻矣。若夫全身半面,隱骨明儀,鐵J34nB303_p0372a26窗欞中尾巴過不得,一毛頭上兩手扶不起,用發造J34nB303_p0372a27物者一笑。
J34nB303_p0372a28狸奴十六,面目太憎。生方欲益其伴侶,以時調伏,不J34nB303_p0372a29圖鐘聲咬破七條,當事者抱取來,搏風捕影,㘞地一J34nB303_p0372a30聲,非過量人前想不易發。即今大地如炙,不知養來J34nB303_p0372b01堂上耶?睡於花下耶?放於無何之鄉耶?食時投以木J34nB303_p0372b02札羹耶?鐵糝餡耶?栗棘蓬耶?雲門餅、金牛飯自非所J34nB303_p0372b03好,雖渠向異類中行,心甚念之,終不以舉止可憐生J34nB303_p0372b04而舍置也。今既屬侍者典守,似不宜放過。如閒不過J34nB303_p0372b05者,欲寫去醒瞌睡,須連敘言方有源本,否則疑殺天J34nB303_p0372b06下人。
J34nB303_p0372b07本來無位次,不用強安排。百千年前已有人恁麼納J34nB303_p0372b08敗闕,然遇量才補職,應物現形,於無分位中似有分J34nB303_p0372b09位,真所謂可與智者道,難為世人言也。日者葛藤,雖J34nB303_p0372b10於瞌睡中憑空而起,至於絕處逢生,緣懸崖而直上,J34nB303_p0372b11窮源返本,臨斷岸而截流,蔽日干雲,了不知止。無何,J34nB303_p0372b12造物者無所取材,以風刀截斷,於冷處著火。今既器J34nB303_p0372b13量有定,根莖枝葉不復再生矣。如諸師閱過,乞命護J34nB303_p0372b14關者持來,欲拈頭綴尾以成一段,俟和尚入關時載J34nB303_p0372b15為請益。如過愛者欲寫去,且命緩緩。病中脾胃俱鈍,J34nB303_p0372b16唯俟諸師新鮮果子喫。如和尚嘗過,先發幾枚來,以J34nB303_p0372b17潤齒牙。
J34nB303_p0372b18達磨西來,不立文字語言,如許葛藤,又因誰致得?雖J34nB303_p0372b19然,事不一向,鵝王擇乳,素非鴨類,如奔流度刃,烈燄J34nB303_p0372b20過風,若無這般手眼,腳跟太險在。此固老人尋常步J34nB303_p0372b21履,第不知三千里外,唱拍相隨,洞示無間者,可多得J34nB303_p0372b22乎?先聖道:「修多羅教,如標月指。若復見月,了知所標,J34nB303_p0372b23畢竟非月。」又道:「識取綱宗,本無實法。」苟拘文守法,不J34nB303_p0372b24能見月忘指,縱饒如水傳器,涓滴不遺,喪我兒孫有J34nB303_p0372b25日在。所以道:「師子教兒迷子法,纔與麼便不與麼,過J34nB303_p0372b26得荊棘林是好手。」咦!縱教過得荊棘林,若到國清門J34nB303_p0372b27下,且款款著。因甚如此?這裏不是汝住處。
J34nB303_p0372b28昔徐子嘗問於孟子:「仲尼亟稱於水,曰:『水哉!水哉!』何J34nB303_p0372b29取於水也?」曰:「原泉混混,不舍晝夜,盈科而後進,放乎J34nB303_p0372b30四海。有本者如是,是之取爾。苟為無本,七八月之間J34nB303_p0372c01雨集,溝澮皆盈,其涸也,可立而待也。故聲聞過情,君J34nB303_p0372c02子恥之。」病中閒,不過偶憶得嘗三復之日,聞和尚悼J34nB303_p0372c03什兄偈云:「至學無嘗師,萬有皆可法」以至「但得心無J34nB303_p0372c04住,神化日維新」之句。反觀孟氏之言,不翅霄壤矣。今J34nB303_p0372c05讀斯錄,一見而悲感交至,載讀而情理難容。讀之三J34nB303_p0372c06四,如登華嶽望滄溟,雖不能窺高深之萬一,然身與J34nB303_p0372c07雲俱,六根七大,飄然欲飛舉矣。第不知死蛇解弄也J34nB303_p0372c08活耶?有本者如是耶?應物現形,無入而不自得耶?如J34nB303_p0372c09依文解義,則法如逝水,而孟氏之言近之矣。如略露J34nB303_p0372c10風規,法如龍雲,造化莫測,神化日新之言,思過半矣。J34nB303_p0372c11如平高就下,法如水火,善用者萬有悉從生濟,玩弄J34nB303_p0372c12之身命以致斃亡。則學無嘗師,萬有可法之言,乃醍J34nB303_p0372c13醐毒藥一道行耳。噫!識法者寧不懼乎?適有胥靡之J34nB303_p0372c14徒,登高不懼,乃玩風弄火,於虛空中雪上加霜。雖然J34nB303_p0372c15賞伊大膽,第恐坐不垂堂者見之,得無足心酸澀,木J34nB303_p0372c16上座於哭不得處有一笑也。已上二則,因讀《國清語錄》
J34nB303_p0372c17昨午風頭稍硬,影侍者飯飽弄箸,不覺寒毛卓豎,趙J34nB303_p0372c18州茶不知暴殄幾許,出身白汗直是未在,夜來和身J34nB303_p0372c19放倒於冰河烈燄中,頭出頭沒,曉起覓寒熱相了不J34nB303_p0372c20可得,秪覺言無味、食無味耳。一朝兩度洗缽盂,金牛J34nB303_p0372c21飯粒米不曾嚼著,漫言美食不中飽人食也。適午夢J34nB303_p0372c22初回,見一人徽徽皇皇,心凜秋霜,頭髼鬆、耳卓朔,開J34nB303_p0372c23口見膽而腳跟不點地,頗似和尚,但五眼中有一眼J34nB303_p0372c24太冷,得非昨夜風頭稍硬之謂乎?病中見和尚半身像
J34nB303_p0372c25誰將成風之手,寫出三身四智。謂是國清,謂非國清,J34nB303_p0372c26未足影侍者一笑,贊之毀之。空谷傳聲,點畫未下,聲J34nB303_p0372c27求色見者,或有之矣。文質既形,迷真逐影者,吾斯之J34nB303_p0372c28未能信。卓錐之地既無,而以十方佛國為家,得無傷J34nB303_p0372c29其廉乎。一字不出口,乃言滿天下,無乃饒舌乎。不向J34nB303_p0372c30鬧裏出頭,偏於冷處著火,不類厭喧求靜乎。乃若肚J34nB303_p0373a01皮太寬,眼孔太窄,誠能損少益多,亦不為分外。如舉J34nB303_p0373a02止乖、言語直,恐非木上座風化天下後世之程範也。J34nB303_p0373a03走筆至此,而報慈猶隔津在。向下文長付,待來日面J34nB303_p0373a04陳也。因讀和尚自題像讚
J34nB303_p0373a05數日來,渴欲新鮮果子喫了,不見回報。如根本深固J34nB303_p0373a06者,今年雨水調均,化育者以時裁制,何夏秋之交,尚J34nB303_p0373a07有摘葉尋枝之勞乎?將非昨日枝頭形似熟,今朝盤J34nB303_p0373a08內視還生耶?然品類非一,遲早不同,病中亦不必求J34nB303_p0373a09其甘美,雖酸澀苦辣者,齒頰邊更覺開爽。嗟乎!日月J34nB303_p0373a10逝矣,歲不我與,國清門下,不怕甕中走卻鱉,其如老J34nB303_p0373a11去者企望乎?
J34nB303_p0373a12夜半潑墨染皂衣,乃侍者尋常行,敢不盡心力而為J34nB303_p0373a13之?曉來覿面相呈,點即不到處,上大人指顧間,八九J34nB303_p0373a14子已寒毛卓豎,何必翻轉面皮,扯丘乙己三十年陳J34nB303_p0373a15爛葛藤,令渠置身無地?爾小生雖可知禮也,七十士J34nB303_p0373a16未免因誰致得?如欲坐斷天下人舌頭,沒齒無怨言,J34nB303_p0373a17化三千起居,伏惟珍重。
J34nB303_p0373a18無量劫來,於玄路鳥道上,不知費卻多少草鞋,何其J34nB303_p0373a19四稜蹋地時,猶惜浣盆邊漿粉值乎?然雖意不在言,J34nB303_p0373a20其如一字入公門,九牛拽不出,冷地裏觸著磕著,直J34nB303_p0373a21是慚惶殺人。從來當局者迷袖手,旁觀者是什麼心J34nB303_p0373a22行?
J34nB303_p0373a23璣日來粥飯頭雖少得力,而四大、五蘊以至十八界、J34nB303_p0373a24八萬四千作止三昧,了無起色。雖曰某甲秪管看,然J34nB303_p0373a25事有死而不能已者。昨承慈愛,甫論法門叢席、僧寶J34nB303_p0373a26大綱,無何觀音入理,門開而前後際斷,何日室中獼J34nB303_p0373a27猴晏息?六窗獼猴欲與相見時,乞和尚辰前午後抽J34nB303_p0373a28身入關,以結未了之案。如小食後,氣刻俱促,恐不罄J34nB303_p0373a29所論;如獼猴睡熟時,分付行者投以本分草料,幸勿J34nB303_p0373a30作中邑故態,取笑識者。
J34nB303_p0373b01昔璣乞食人間,瞌睡之暇,嘗從聾瞽者問夢中聲色,J34nB303_p0373b02彼亦無事,乃樂與璣言也。時有啞者家火發,倉皇求J34nB303_p0373b03救於人,愁慘萬狀,而眾莫能喻。余曉之曰:「是家有焚J34nB303_p0373b04溺之患,君其援之。」於是啞者踴躍合掌而逝。或曰:「師J34nB303_p0373b05何法修得解若語?」余曰:「昨聞聾瞽者言夢中聲色而J34nB303_p0373b06得解也。」或者憮然曰:「某謂師得心於啞者,不謂了意J34nB303_p0373b07於聾瞽。」又嘗以缽中果食,發諸小兒意外悲喜,或投J34nB303_p0373b08之川原,於魚鳥趣翔鬥爭之際,鑒其慈義廉退。又嘗J34nB303_p0373b09與張子日未夜坐,曰:「余性多睡,明晨有事欲早起,子J34nB303_p0373b10能午夜先覺而覺我乎?如余夢入華胥,未能應子之J34nB303_p0373b11呼,當就廚中笊籬三稱其名,余即覺矣。」張子曰:「諾。」及J34nB303_p0373b12時,甫叩門,璣即應聲曰:「余久矣醒,子醒也未?」張子愕J34nB303_p0373b13然而退。璣笑曰:「張子誠信士也,惜乎夢未醒耳。」璣適J34nB303_p0373b14以夢中之語,聞和尚承侍者,默而識之,或可於疲倦J34nB303_p0373b15時一為捧腹,未便與他人言也。熟處難忘之誚,璣固J34nB303_p0373b16未辭,恐日夜不曾眠者,無夢說夢耳。

J34nB303_p0373b18法運固季矣,而人根由之。所賴至人有在,文獻具存。J34nB303_p0373b19吾輩一息尚存,宜鞠躬盡力,死而後已。至於成敗久J34nB303_p0373b20近,一委之造物者。法門廣大,無所不容。同人中或有J34nB303_p0373b21心志不一者,當興平等慈,隨力攝化,幸勿以違順毀J34nB303_p0373b22譽生欣厭也。然言之固易,為之實難,事難然後見君J34nB303_p0373b23子也。三門所恃砥柱,一眾同心,無復慮也。袛以僧不J34nB303_p0373b24拜俗一事,經律已言之詳矣。昨聞因事偶一為之,因J34nB303_p0373b25思漸不可長。方今法門衰替,魔外充斥,縱橫逆有加,J34nB303_p0373b26庶聖制無違,先宗不辱。如徇時隨俗,雖獲苟免,難為J34nB303_p0373b27識者。語云:一失步,無所措。臨事極宜慎審。然平地坦J34nB303_p0373b28途,步履亦不草草。至於有事被執,或至公庭,又當別J34nB303_p0373b29論。狂惑之言,伏惟諒采。
J34nB303_p0373b30書尺往還,極是惱亂人瞌睡。若是個真正懶殘,纔見J34nB303_p0373c01箇元字腳,便與他百雜碎。其或意不在言,來機亦赴,J34nB303_p0373c02宜開口見膽,無舌頭路與人趣泊,斯為美善。雖曰自J34nB303_p0373c03我作祖,亦須取法從上。所謂取法者,得意忘言也,非J34nB303_p0373c04尋章摘句守繩墨也,亦非絕口不言古人字句也,貴J34nB303_p0373c05如靈丹一粒,點鐵成金耳。是以馬師圓相、玄沙白紙,J34nB303_p0373c06為千古風規。雖巖頭輩移風易俗,亦不過曰:「傳語十J34nB303_p0373c07八子,好好事潘郎。」及孟春猶寒,伏惟起居珍重而已。J34nB303_p0373c08逮宋元尊宿,近代諸師,事不獲已,就下平高,屈體申J34nB303_p0373c09志,雖至長篇累牘,入水入泥,而腳下草鞋,寸步不失,J34nB303_p0373c10初未嘗言世諦及世情也。然世諦世情,道人家固不J34nB303_p0373c11言及,一有近似,則遺誚大方。嘗見山谷道人評李白J34nB303_p0373c12書問有云:「譬如生來富貴之人,雖醉中夢中作無義J34nB303_p0373c13語,終不作寒乞聲。」此言雖近,亦可喻遠,而況辭榮割J34nB303_p0373c14愛,為法王後裔者乎?又況親承知識,陶冶萬物者乎?J34nB303_p0373c15傳曰:「君子一言以為知,一言以為不知。言不可不慎J34nB303_p0373c16也。」承示書稿,不得面言,草此作報,想一體同觀者,或J34nB303_p0373c17不訝其惡醉強酒也。
J34nB303_p0373c18衲僧家以法為親,舉止言行固不草草,然筆札往還J34nB303_p0373c19亦宜珍慎。如必不得已,當居敬言簡,別資一路。開口J34nB303_p0373c20落筆,貴乎言近指遠,有餘不盡。雖至寒暄慰問,亦須J34nB303_p0373c21和而不流,淡而不厭,情不附物可也。古德有言:「出語J34nB303_p0373c22直教燒不著,暫時不在,便不堪矣。」幸體悉。書稿完上。J34nB303_p0373c23嘗聞繪事家傳神所貴點眼,蓋以四體頭面為一身J34nB303_p0373c24之規模,眼為五臟之神宇。夫規模易寫而神宇難傳,J34nB303_p0373c25然他人之神即我之神,苟自不凝神,欲傳他人之神,J34nB303_p0373c26得乎?如心與神會,雖上至千古,下至千古萬有之神,J34nB303_p0373c27無時不聽命於左右矣。至於筆墨點畫,不過示影像J34nB303_p0373c28耳,神烏足盡哉?不特繪事如然,即百工技藝如不得J34nB303_p0373c29其神化,雖曲盡規法,秪可與世同波。雖然,亦非于規J34nB303_p0373c30法之外別求神化,貴於百尺竿頭進步耳。如學道之J34nB303_p0374a01士不究佛祖言外之旨,孜孜於語言名相之間,殆百J34nB303_p0374a02工繪事之不若矣。
J34nB303_p0374a03塵勞中人一皈三寶,能持一戒清淨,即有五戒神衛J34nB303_p0374a04護,一切不善鬼神不能近其舍宅。出家兒步步踏佛J34nB303_p0374a05階梯,念念如救頭然,父母非我親,誰是最親者?所以J34nB303_p0374a06道:「大丈夫,秉慧劍,般若鋒兮金剛燄,非但空摧外道J34nB303_p0374a07心,早曾落卻天魔膽。」至於衲僧門下,無相而形,無心J34nB303_p0374a08而應,十二時辰喚去呼來,五蘊八風橫出直入,三世J34nB303_p0374a09諸佛尚覓起處不得,何聖凡之有哉?世人不知自己J34nB303_p0374a10本命元辰落處,終日背覺合塵,迷己逐物,八識田中四J34nB303_p0374a11生六道出沒無時,曾不驚異,纔見風行草動,便云是J34nB303_p0374a12鬼是神,甚至一人傳虛,千人傳實,學道人即不能機J34nB303_p0374a13先坐斷,又不能截斷眾流,況復逐浪隨波,追風捕影,J34nB303_p0374a14病中聞之,不覺失笑。古德道:「山鬼伎倆有窮。老僧不J34nB303_p0374a15見不聞無盡。」已是敗闕不少。若謂無事聽閒人說鬼,J34nB303_p0374a16此話有兩負門:識取鉤頭意,莫認定盤星。扶病勉書,J34nB303_p0374a17唯有鼻孔者體悉。
J34nB303_p0374a18鄰山有亡僧遷化,彼一眾咸言鬼物夜出,呻吟動作,J34nB303_p0374a19見聞者比比。而某某更以夢寐之語附會之,驚疑傳J34nB303_p0374a20說,俾認四大為自身者,藤蛇莫辨。余聞之,忍俊不禁,J34nB303_p0374a21扶病書此告之。由是議者知非,不惟了藤非蛇,并藤J34nB303_p0374a22亦絕跡矣。嗟乎!心生則種種法生,心滅則種種法滅,J34nB303_p0374a23學道人幸毋以平易而忽之也。
J34nB303_p0374a24嘗讀古僧史,見從上先德,有平生怡悅,不知有慍怒J34nB303_p0374a25者;有賦性多怒,殊無喜色者;有終身不見喜慍者。雖J34nB303_p0374a26曰同途不同轍,余於最後者,志取多矣。傳曰:「或安而J34nB303_p0374a27行之,或利而行之,或勉強而行之。」及其成功,一也。璣J34nB303_p0374a28根性陋劣,雖承諸知識亭育開化,勉力行持,而於古J34nB303_p0374a29人步履,莫能踐其萬一。茲復衰病相扶,然亦未敢寬J34nB303_p0374a30恕。每閱經傳,有愧於心者,未嘗不置卷思齊,感憤終J34nB303_p0374b01日。嘗自矢曰:「如璣好古之心,不甚委曲,願舍此報身,J34nB303_p0374b02得生善族。於母胎中,即聞無上之教;襁褓中,即見佛J34nB303_p0374b03僧;知識甫開,元氣未散,即遇明師畏友。莫若今生老J34nB303_p0374b04大知有,俾郢人置斧斤而太息。」是以聞人之過,不翅J34nB303_p0374b05己有,無問長幼,必曉夜思維,以盡忠告。使人之過也,J34nB303_p0374b06余不一體同觀而緘默之;如己有過,冀其作不請之J34nB303_p0374b07友而教諭之,不綦難乎?昔楚熊渠夜行,見寢石,以為J34nB303_p0374b08伏虎,關弓射之,沒金鏃羽。下視,知其石也,射之,矢摧J34nB303_p0374b09無跡。漢世復有李廣,為右北平太守,射虎得石,亦如J34nB303_p0374b10之。劉向曰:「誠之至也,而金石為之開,況人乎?」夫唱而J34nB303_p0374b11不和、動而不隨,中必有不全者也。夫不降席而匡天J34nB303_p0374b12下者,求之己也。嘗見今之學道者,妄以螢火等彼日J34nB303_p0374b13光,終日逐境乘風,肆意喜怒。有規之者,則曰:「非君境J34nB303_p0374b14界。」說空行有,不一而足。嗟乎!牛乳白,驢乳亦白,差之J34nB303_p0374b15毫釐,謬以千里。臘月三十到來,風刀解體,六根四大,J34nB303_p0374b16一合相不可得。你這作喜怒愛憎者,向甚處安著?從J34nB303_p0374b17你硬差排,強作主宰,終是識邊事。驀地前後際斷,心J34nB303_p0374b18智路絕,如子夜獨行,罔知歸向。真正學道人,以譏謗J34nB303_p0374b19毀辱,逆順境風,以至饑寒病困,為陶育爐韝,何苦樂J34nB303_p0374b20喜怒之有乎?視身如幻,視人如己,視死如歸,視生如J34nB303_p0374b21寓,何得失欣厭乎?先聖道:「知幻即離,不作方便;離幻J34nB303_p0374b22即覺,亦無漸次。」志於道者,自能齊得失、一毀譽。然遇J34nB303_p0374b23飄風塊雨,意外之變,喜怒之心,未能淨盡,草鞋邊更J34nB303_p0374b24宜珍重。
與穹窿大師
J34nB303_p0374b26璣,風塵子也,且復頑懦無似。吾師不棄遺,循循然於J34nB303_p0374b27意言之外,鼓舞激揚,使璣得事知識,得具僧儀,得見J34nB303_p0374b28佛祖光明,得近多多明師賢友,得延殘喘,以至今日。J34nB303_p0374b29世間之恩,無逾天地父母,吾師恩德,豈可以天地父J34nB303_p0374b30母為喻哉?蓋覆幬生育,固自罔極,求其裂世網為大J34nB303_p0374c01雄之裔者,雖天駿神駒,匪遇至人,終沉槽櫪,矧駑劣J34nB303_p0374c02如璣者耶?且璣昔侍萬峰,風雨霜雪,不時而作,吾師J34nB303_p0374c03以成風之手,潛移默植於不知不覺之間,使璣原始J34nB303_p0374c04要終,不甚狼籍,銘心刻腑,又何敢以天地父母為喻J34nB303_p0374c05哉?用是晨夕兢兢,於草鞋邊磨光刮垢。吾師臘逾趙J34nB303_p0374c06州安國,璣無論異類人倫,得親鞭策,乃至身為床座,J34nB303_p0374c07寧期一生兩生?自成別以來,百事病廢,深山塵市,冷J34nB303_p0374c08煖自知,竟無可為左右舉似。今雖泉石留人,一榻蕭J34nB303_p0374c09然,以疾而臥,殼漏子委之火光三昧久矣。杖笠芒鞋,J34nB303_p0374c10原自不離左右,風動雲行,更何所云?第不得把手臨J34nB303_p0374c11風,袛聆謦欬,伏冀以時珍攝,慰我遠悰。腕病不備不J34nB303_p0374c12莊,統祈原宥。
復辯菴師兄
J34nB303_p0374c14曩於萬峰,得瞻道範,中心藏之十年矣。前在東山,獲J34nB303_p0374c15親不請之益,喜出意表。不期病困多艱,聚首甫七月J34nB303_p0374c16而成別亦復千有餘日矣。時一念及,徒增慨息,何德J34nB303_p0374c17人之難見而易別耶?入關已來,百事病廢,陵谷變遷,J34nB303_p0374c18師友曠隔,觸情舉目,無不興感,曾不得以一言書識。J34nB303_p0374c19兩承翰什,益深悲感。凡入山者,無不言肫肫之愛,雖J34nB303_p0374c20慈亮原我於禮法之外,而惓惓之懷,於深相忘中有J34nB303_p0374c21一種不能忘者,自亦不能解。和尚入山,始悉動靜,殊J34nB303_p0374c22慰懷仰。自和尚歸,日聞法言,胸次頗開豁。第久病之J34nB303_p0374c23質,日就衰頹,夏秋間幾成不起。比來粥飯頭雖少得J34nB303_p0374c24力,而神思精氣蔑如也。然泡幻之物,生滅無常,幸勿J34nB303_p0374c25致念。惟冀珍育法身,以副後昆之望,是所禱也。
與毅兄
J34nB303_p0374c27玄沙白紙,已成千古葛藤。馬師圓相,又作時人窠窟。J34nB303_p0374c28欲效維摩杜口,奈何熟處難忘。更若別資一路,未免J34nB303_p0374c29拖泥帶水。這師既肯覿面相呈,小弟敢不旁通一線。J34nB303_p0374c30但得牯牛水草,尋常不戀故鄉田地,是所望也。若夫J34nB303_p0375a01和尚起居,叢林景況,總在這師滿口含霜。至於弟之J34nB303_p0375a02行徑,愁人莫向愁人說,說起愁來愁殺人。
與質兄
J34nB303_p0375a04古人閉關禁足,大有深意存焉。後人不諳深旨,動輒J34nB303_p0375a05為之,多致中道坎坷,變幻百出,耳聞目擊者,屈指已J34nB303_p0375a06幾幾矣。吾兄志效古人,出自天性,且於祥符爐韝,數J34nB303_p0375a07數入火,轉轉明淨。今以潛匿故,深入重關,原非可與J34nB303_p0375a08若輩同日而語,璣復何於太虛中加點綴耶?譬諸父J34nB303_p0375a09兄遠出,素達山川夷險,為子弟者,臨行囑曰:途路善J34nB303_p0375a10為。此璣之心也。且璣與兄,在俗為同鄉,在僧為同澤,J34nB303_p0375a11在祥符為手足,在法門為骨肉。當此臨行遠別,寧忍J34nB303_p0375a12自甘菲薄,同彼外人,袖手旁觀而默默乎?凡人纔欲J34nB303_p0375a13閉關,便當以無量劫來,乃至盡未來際,一切凡聖等J34nB303_p0375a14心,一時坐斷。室中惟置一床一几,經行坐臥,但願空J34nB303_p0375a15諸所有,慎勿實諸所無。終日說取行不得底,行取說J34nB303_p0375a16不得底。以此調攝,則心廣體胖,四大安和;以此學問,J34nB303_p0375a17則細入無間,大絕方所;以此思維,則念念截流,新新J34nB303_p0375a18無住;以此應機,則風馳電卷,左右逢原;以此立言,則J34nB303_p0375a19珠回玉轉,光耀後先;以此行施,則隨願皆滿,三輪空J34nB303_p0375a20寂;以此持戒,則磨而不磷,涅而不緇;以此臨變,則視J34nB303_p0375a21身如幻,觀辱如飴。擴而推之,六度萬行,無往而不自J34nB303_p0375a22得矣。靈源曰:「道人保養,如人病須服藥。」藥之靈驗易J34nB303_p0375a23見,要須忌口乃可。不然,服藥何益?生死是大病,佛祖J34nB303_p0375a24言教是良藥,染汙心是雜毒。不能忌之,生死之病,無J34nB303_p0375a25時而損也。所謂染汙者,即愛憎、取舍、得失等心是也。J34nB303_p0375a26若有纖毫未盡,則不知不覺,被目前境風所奪,日久J34nB303_p0375a27月深,迷而不返,道力不能勝業力,千岐萬派,從此而J34nB303_p0375a28起矣。其害有不可勝言者。是以契經曰:「若忘失菩提J34nB303_p0375a29心,修種種行,皆成魔業。」又曰:「若起精進心,是妄非精J34nB303_p0375a30進。但能心不妄,精進無有涯。」以上絡索,皆途程邊事。J34nB303_p0375b01若夫向上一路,近來王令稍嚴,不許攙行奪市。
與明兄
J34nB303_p0375b03病中不能作字,無字則意不能達,伏枕揮毫,竟不知J34nB303_p0375b04從甚處起。若夫石梁嶮巇,華頂孤危,海門波濤浩蕩,J34nB303_p0375b05瑞巖石上惺惺,到者自知,何必預搔待癢?寒溫間闊,J34nB303_p0375b06問訊起居,又非病僧之所以示親愛也。因念古人凡J34nB303_p0375b07遇顛危之後,必有大進益處。吾兄昔年死中得活,爐J34nB303_p0375b08錘正自不小,想得力處亦自不少矣。年來袛聞翰墨J34nB303_p0375b09淋漓,不許夜行,投明須到之語,目斷雲山,究不得一J34nB303_p0375b10見,何慎密之若是也?毋乃不易言耶?古德云:「莫謂楊J34nB303_p0375b11岐山勢險,前頭更有最高峰。」時為吾兄誦之。璣也,泡J34nB303_p0375b12幻之軀,不俟終日,同源之切,饑渴何如?風便,冀以好J34nB303_p0375b13音慰我,秪恐草鞋無恙,鴈轉東山,鷂子過新羅久矣。J34nB303_p0375b14幸珍育。
與靜兄
J34nB303_p0375b16昨夕手筆至,甫出浴,未及盥手整衣,即令護關者拭J34nB303_p0375b17几展讀,蓋恃其親愛也。讀未竟,而悲感交至。出家兒J34nB303_p0375b18固不事情識,然義之所在,殊難為懷矣。璣福薄緣慳,J34nB303_p0375b19見先老人最晚,服勤未久,慈光別照,其間不孝罪狀J34nB303_p0375b20固陋,憂思未便一二言述,恐益吾兄及明兄悲感。嗟J34nB303_p0375b21乎!終天之痛,於茲十三年矣。璣之草鞋邊不甚狼籍J34nB303_p0375b22者,悉和尚無為之化、不言之教也。去夏聞兩兄入山,J34nB303_p0375b23喜出意外,雖一關相限,而期望之懷,不翅寒餒之冀J34nB303_p0375b24衣食。每與和尚言及兩兄父母未生前事,未嘗不哽J34nB303_p0375b25咽而止。乃吾兄不恥下問,欲弟別施方便,一言指南,J34nB303_p0375b26弟何敢自取疏外?固為遜辭。蓋此箇大事,臣不能獻J34nB303_p0375b27之於君,子不能供事於父,昆弟友朋難為告語,貴於J34nB303_p0375b28離心意識,自證自肯耳。故巖頭云:「從門入者,不是家J34nB303_p0375b29珍。須一一從自己胸襟流出,自能蓋天蓋地。」今之學J34nB303_p0375b30道者,往往作故事看過。昔道吾離藥山見南泉,泉問:J34nB303_p0375c01「闍黎名甚麼?」吾云:「宗智。」泉曰:「智不到處作麼生宗?」吾J34nB303_p0375c02曰:「切忌道著。」泉曰:「灼然,道著即頭角生。」三日後,吾與J34nB303_p0375c03雲巖在後架把鍼,泉見乃問:「智頭陀前日道:『智不到J34nB303_p0375c04處切忌道著,道著即頭角生。』合作麼生行履?」吾便抽J34nB303_p0375c05身入僧堂,泉便歸方丈。吾又來把鍼,雲巖曰:「師弟何J34nB303_p0375c06不袛對和尚?」吾曰:「你不妨靈利。」巖不薦,卻問泉:「智頭J34nB303_p0375c07陀為甚不袛對和尚?」泉曰:「他卻是異類中行。」巖曰:「如J34nB303_p0375c08何是異類中行?」泉曰:「不見道:『智不到處切忌道著,道J34nB303_p0375c09著即頭角生。』直須向異類中行。」巖亦不會。吾乃與巖J34nB303_p0375c10歸藥山,巖舉前話問山,山曰:「子作麼生會?」巖無對,山J34nB303_p0375c11乃大笑。巖復問:「如何是異類中行?」山曰:「吾今日困倦,J34nB303_p0375c12且待別時來。」巖曰:「某甲特為此事歸來。」山曰:「且去。」巖J34nB303_p0375c13便出。吾在方丈,聞巖不薦,不覺咬得指頭血出,卻下J34nB303_p0375c14來問巖:「師兄去問和尚,那因緣作麼生?」巖曰:「和尚不J34nB303_p0375c15與某甲說。」吾便低頭。弟固不敢上擬古人,然十指咬J34nB303_p0375c16來,箇箇有血,又非獨兩兄為然也。至於疾首痛心,或J34nB303_p0375c17有過於古人者多矣。意不盡言,草此作報,不識吾兄J34nB303_p0375c18以為何如?
與隨侍諸兄
J34nB303_p0375c20頃憶木上座去寒山餘二十日矣,起居眠食知諸兄J34nB303_p0375c21善於時節,不復問訊,第未審踏破多許草鞋,已破者J34nB303_p0375c22置於何地?多見任重致遠者隨路狼籍,致循途之流J34nB303_p0375c23依他作解而妄意馳逐。如草鞋未破者不煩著意,然J34nB303_p0375c24到家矣,計亦解脫。即日仲夏猶寒,赤體蕭蕭,若為行J34nB303_p0375c25履,非惟出門是草及平地上死人無數,即堂室之下J34nB303_p0375c26時有意外風雨,矧十八界賊出沒無時乎?乃若腳跟J34nB303_p0375c27不點地而業在其中,隱顯申屈,或有出身路惟九旬J34nB303_p0375c28禁足者,得無忍俊不禁乎?想意不在言而來機亦赴J34nB303_p0375c29也。
復人華居士
J34nB303_p0376a01應身示疾,聞之已久,第以妙德未出鐵圍,左右無可J34nB303_p0376a02使者,止有一人踏破草鞋,不得其門而入。雖于侍者J34nB303_p0376a03邊得箇入路,及乎問著病源,滿口吐不盡,致我居士J34nB303_p0376a04辨才神力,置之罔聞。前報手命,又以絃急聲促,未舒J34nB303_p0376a05所懷。來教謂赤心片片,何能酬居士之萬一哉?涪翁J34nB303_p0376a06集雖有妙音,而無妙指,終不能發,矧十指如椎,置之J34nB303_p0376a07高閣者乎?力不從心,有辜至意。十自詠彼時閱過,即J34nB303_p0376a08歸方丈。若夫見他劉先生則可,左右則不可。謹復。
留別家兄弟
J34nB303_p0376a10不孝未能忘情禮法,顛躓出山,原擬於先慈柩前默J34nB303_p0376a11坐幾七,用展一念之私,即拂衣而去,不謂又為情理J34nB303_p0376a12所拘,致諸兄弟寔殫厥心,雖於至尊前曲盡誠懇,何J34nB303_p0376a13足報罔極之萬一?清夜思之,秪益傷殘涕泗而已。復J34nB303_p0376a14承以金相贈住靜,此手足美意,世情難事也。在不孝J34nB303_p0376a15一自出家,即不希族屬之物,更以此語勉諸同輩,嗣J34nB303_p0376a16後所施衣物仍受不卻者,蓋使老母無寒暑之思,於J34nB303_p0376a17福田中得沾利益,雖曲體先聖至意,誠非初願也。今J34nB303_p0376a18者以璣不德先慈,速就無生,既賴諸兄弟承喪祭之J34nB303_p0376a19任,璣一盂一衲,何天不可飛?何地不可埋?肯以無累J34nB303_p0376a20之軀受此有累之物乎?幸吾兄弟諒之。茲已領入山J34nB303_p0376a21之費,餘者乞作無相福,以資二人往生,則歿存獲益J34nB303_p0376a22多矣。不及面言,書此為別。
