千巖禪師語錄序
J32nB273_p0203a02往予家居時,嘗謁千巖禪師於烏傷伏龍山。當是時,J32nB273_p0203a03遐邇學子望風奔湊,曾未幾何,化荒墟為樓觀,易寥J32nB273_p0203a04空為金碧,鐘鼓之聲,上徹霄漢。嗚呼!何其能也?蓋禪J32nB273_p0203a05師之不能為能、不用為用,芳蘭生於深谷,而馨香遠J32nB273_p0203a06聞;蒼璧韞于玄璞,而光輝外發。禪師處於遐壤,而人J32nB273_p0203a07競從之。有道之士,其果有異於庸常者歟?且禪師在J32nB273_p0203a08時,其弟子嗣詔,嘗錄其語,鍥梓以傳。予嘗獲觀之,其J32nB273_p0203a09敷宣大法,如雲雷迭興,而九龍噴雨也;如大醫王制J32nB273_p0203a10藥,隨證而愈疾也;如摩醯三眼,光明洞照,而無不至J32nB273_p0203a11也。由是知禪師之道,不實不虛,不有不無,不中不邊,J32nB273_p0203a12在普應之門,蓋亦鏗然有聲者也。以能以用窺禪師J32nB273_p0203a13者,抑亦末矣。禪師既入寂,兵燹方張,所謂語錄者,皆J32nB273_p0203a14為煨燼,經今十有餘年矣。一庵鄰上人,自幼侍禪師,J32nB273_p0203a15與聞其道,乃以舊本重刻,不遠一千餘里,來徵予序。J32nB273_p0203a16予謂禪師之道見於言,讀其言,自可知其道,又何以J32nB273_p0203a17序文為?然稽之古德,其語存于今者,多名縉紳為題J32nB273_p0203a18辭,不若是,固不足以表正宗之所寄。第予也非人,惡J32nB273_p0203a19足為禪師之重輕?以禪師與余交也,因不辭而為之J32nB273_p0203a20書。雖然,禪師之道,不落有無、中邊、虛實者,固不可以J32nB273_p0203a21語言文字求也。欲求禪師之道,其亦得魚兔而忘蹄J32nB273_p0203a22筌者乎?禪師行業,予嘗為撰塔上之銘,茲不書。上人J32nB273_p0203a23方閱三藏諸經,連年不自休,今又孜孜而為是圖,亦J32nB273_p0203a24可謂不悖其師者也。

J32nB273_p0203c06雙林玉溪和尚至,上堂:「天上無彌勒,地下無彌勒,千J32nB273_p0203c07門萬戶開,輪槌只一擊。」下座。
J32nB273_p0203c08上堂:「還識老僧麼?心地自閑閑,萬般空擾擾。門前流J32nB273_p0203c09水忙,屋上青山老。若是箇中人,道!道!」
J32nB273_p0203c10上堂,舉燒庵婆話,頌曰:「供他死漢亦徒勞,發我無明J32nB273_p0203c11把火燒。若是久經行陣者,不妨一箭落雙鵰。」
J32nB273_p0203c12上堂:「教中道:『一切賢聖皆以無為法而有差別。』世尊J32nB273_p0203c13有兩個舌頭,無明只有一箇舌頭,一切賢聖皆以無J32nB273_p0203c14為法而無差別。」
J32nB273_p0203c15上堂:「洪波浩渺,白浪滔天,老僧沒頭浸,命若懸絲。汝J32nB273_p0203c16諸人莫有相救者麼?若有救得,大家相聚喫莖虀;救J32nB273_p0203c17不得,汝往西秦,我之東魯。」
J32nB273_p0203c18上堂:「大火聚焰,焰光裏許不容蚊蚋藏。一燒燒盡三J32nB273_p0203c19千界,巍巍獨坐法中王。大眾!不是心,不是佛,不是物,J32nB273_p0203c20是甚麼?」
J32nB273_p0203c21上堂:「帝網之珠,光光相羅;啐啄之機,聲聲相和。閉門J32nB273_p0203c22造車,出門合轍。為甚馬大師一喝,百丈卻耳聾三日?J32nB273_p0203c23淆訛在甚麼處?」
J32nB273_p0203c24上堂:「趙州道箇無字,雲門道普。汝諸人悟不悟?莫顢J32nB273_p0203c25頇,休莽鹵。」以拄杖卓一下,下座。
J32nB273_p0203c26上堂:「拈起須彌槌,打破虛空鼓,驚得鱉鼻蛇,咬殺白J32nB273_p0203c27水牯,從教血濺梵天紅,夜半日輪正當午。」靠拄杖,云:J32nB273_p0203c28「是法住法位,世間相常住。」下座。
J32nB273_p0203c29結夏,上堂:「諸方今日結夏,千巖今日結舌。」良久,云:「是J32nB273_p0203c30同?是別?」以手摑口,云:「又成多說。」下座。
J32nB273_p0204a01 J32nB273_p0204a02示眾:「即心即佛,汝得吾皮;非心非佛,汝得吾肉;J32nB273_p0204a03不是心、不是佛、不是物,汝得吾骨。得髓聻?三段不同,收歸上計。」
J32nB273_p0204a04上堂:「今朝三月五,山鳥自啼花自吐,泥團土塊鮮翻身,為甚諸J32nB273_p0204a05人都不會?」良久,云:「雪峰輥毬,禾山打鼓。」
J32nB273_p0204a06示眾:「今朝又是六月十三日了也,看看解夏又在目J32nB273_p0204a07前,未審諸人水牯牛還牧得熟也未?蠟人如冰雪相J32nB273_p0204a08似也未?若也未▆,各自照管,莫怪老僧不說。」
J32nB273_p0204a09示眾:「我無佛法也無禪,暮雨初晴四月天。要會西來J32nB273_p0204a10祖師意,一池蛙鼓正闐闐。」
J32nB273_p0204a11示眾,舉:「僧問仰山云:『法身還解說法也無?』山云:『我說J32nB273_p0204a12不得,別有一人說得。』僧云:『說底人在甚處?』山推出枕J32nB273_p0204a13子。溈山聞,云:『寂子用劍刃上事。』」師云:「溈山滿面埃塵,J32nB273_p0204a14仰山通身泥水。有問無明:『法身還解說法也無?』劈脊J32nB273_p0204a15便打。『說底人在甚處?』去去西天路,迢迢十萬程。」
J32nB273_p0204a16示眾:「昨日兩軍出陣,兩刃交鋒,未見輸嬴,難分勝負。J32nB273_p0204a17老僧只管看,忍俊不禁,未免借鄧隱峰底錫杖子出J32nB273_p0204a18來搖一搖,秪要諸人息戰。息戰後如何?熏風自南來,J32nB273_p0204a19殿閣生微涼。」
J32nB273_p0204a20上堂,師指香爐云:「大眾!香爐與諸人說法了也。」便下J32nB273_p0204a21座。
J32nB273_p0204a22示眾:「雲門大師道:『扇子𨁝跳上三十三天,築著帝釋J32nB273_p0204a23鼻孔;東海鯉魚打一棒,雨似盆傾。』雲門秪解瞻前,不J32nB273_p0204a24能顧後。」遂以扇子擊禪床,云:「扇子𨁝跳入一十八重J32nB273_p0204a25地獄,築著閻羅王鼻孔。閻羅王惡發道:『你喫了現成J32nB273_p0204a26粥飯,日夜鼓兩片皮,妄談般若,合喫我手中鐵棒。』被J32nB273_p0204a27山僧一喝,卻入扇子裏去也。諸人還見麼?若見,拈取J32nB273_p0204a28扇子來;不見,炎炎暑天用箇甚麼?」
J32nB273_p0204a29上堂:「月頭初一,月尾三十,釋迦老子拈弄不出,是箇J32nB273_p0204a30甚麼?六月山深日正長,道人行處不尋常,團團圍繞J32nB273_p0204b01青松樹,殿閣無風也自涼。」
J32nB273_p0204b02上堂:「聞聲悟道,見色明心。觀音菩薩將錢買胡餅,放J32nB273_p0204b03下手卻是饅頭。大小雲門只在聲色裏頭出頭沒。無J32nB273_p0204b04明則不然。」拈拄杖卓一下,喝一喝,下座。
J32nB273_p0204b05示眾,舉:「龍牙云:『天下名山到因腳,辛苦年深與襪著,J32nB273_p0204b06如今老大不能行,手裏把箇破木杓。』五祖演和尚云:J32nB273_p0204b07『腳也不能著草鞋,手也不能把木杓,端坐受供養,施J32nB273_p0204b08主常安樂。』」師云:「盡大地是一隻破艸鞋,盡大地是箇J32nB273_p0204b09破木杓,要把便把,要著便著,佛祖何曾摸得著?」
J32nB273_p0204b10示眾:「說了也。且道說箇甚麼?」便下座。
J32nB273_p0204b11示眾,舉:「睦州問一秀才云:『先輩蘊何事業?』秀才云:『會J32nB273_p0204b12二十四家書。』州以拄杖點云:『會麼?』才云:『不會。』州云:『永J32nB273_p0204b13字八法也不識,說甚麼會二十四家書?』」師云:「智過於J32nB273_p0204b14師,方堪傳授。睦州手忙腳亂,俗氣不除;秀才只解順J32nB273_p0204b15朱,休論八法。諸人還知這一點落處麼?不可以智知,J32nB273_p0204b16不可以識識,萬論千經從此出。」
J32nB273_p0204b17示眾:「大眾!現成公案。昨日初一,今朝初二。」
J32nB273_p0204b18上堂:「大眾!又是九月半也,生死事大,無常迅速,討甚J32nB273_p0204b19閑工夫說長腳話?看看,閻羅老子請老僧齋也,諸人J32nB273_p0204b20各自照管缽盂匙箸好。」喝一喝,下座。
J32nB273_p0204b21上堂:「大眾!佛之一字吾不喜聞,況說出許多閑言長J32nB273_p0204b22語,教壞人家男女,好與三十棒。何故?蚊虫遭扇打,只J32nB273_p0204b23為口傷人。久立。」
J32nB273_p0204b24示眾,舉:「僧問趙州:『大地無塵,掃箇甚麼?』州云:『掃外來J32nB273_p0204b25底。』若是無明,只向他道:『掃裏頭底。』大眾!趙州底是?無J32nB273_p0204b26明底是?」
J32nB273_p0204b27示眾,舉:「雪竇云:『三分光陰二早過,靈臺一點不揩磨,J32nB273_p0204b28貪生逐日區區去,喚不迴頭爭奈何?』」師云:「三分光陰J32nB273_p0204b29即不問,且道靈臺一點是揩磨耶?不揩磨耶?」眾無語,J32nB273_p0204b30師云:「歸堂喫茶。」
J32nB273_p0204c01示眾,舉:「罽賓國王斬師子尊者頭,王臂自落。雪竇云:J32nB273_p0204c02『作家君王,天然有在。』黃龍新云:『黃龍要問雪竇:「既是J32nB273_p0204c03作家君王,因甚臂落?」』大慧云:『孟八郎漢又恁麼去。』」師J32nB273_p0204c04云:「一人無卻臂,一人無了頭,二俱誇好手,何處不風J32nB273_p0204c05流?」
J32nB273_p0204c06示眾:「今朝正是三月三,釋迦老子露尊顏,樹上桃花J32nB273_p0204c07開爛熳,階前紅雨點班斑。」下座。
J32nB273_p0204c08示眾,良久,云:「大眾!會麼?會則事同一家,不會則萬別J32nB273_p0204c09千差。臨濟和尚道:『我在黃蘗處喫六十痛棒,如蒿枝J32nB273_p0204c10拂相似。如今思量一頓喫,不知誰為下手?』時有僧出J32nB273_p0204c11云:『某甲下手。』臨濟度杖與之,僧擬接,濟便打。看它的J32nB273_p0204c12的顯示這些子,無你諸人近傍處,豈常情之所能測?J32nB273_p0204c13老僧尋常痛罵罵你、痛棒打你,你不作無明會,便作J32nB273_p0204c14佛法會,又何曾夢見我先祖門風?所以古人云:『臨濟J32nB273_p0204c15之道將墜于地。痛哉!痛哉!』正與麼時,合作麼生?超群J32nB273_p0204c16須是英靈漢,敵勝還他師子兒。」
J32nB273_p0204c17示眾,舉德山托缽因緣,拈云:「末後句子,德山、巖頭、雪J32nB273_p0204c18峰總跳不出。」乃喝一喝,云:「大丈夫當為真王,何以假J32nB273_p0204c19為?」
J32nB273_p0204c20示眾:「當臺明鏡,鑑在何人?露刃吹毛,逢它敵者。從上J32nB273_p0204c21的的相承以來,無有不同者,心肝五臟也仝、眉毛鼻J32nB273_p0204c22孔也仝、眼睛舌頭也同、三百六十骨節也同、八萬四J32nB273_p0204c23千毫竅也同,一處同、處處同,只有些子不同。諸人還J32nB273_p0204c24檢點得出麼?阿呵呵,縱饒滄海變,終不與君通。」
J32nB273_p0204c25示眾:「大眾還知老僧落處麼?如釣魚放生。」
J32nB273_p0204c26端午,上堂:「夏日喫麥粥,頭頂茅草屋,東司雨淋淋,無J32nB273_p0204c27處可下足。中有老頭陀,豈可稱尊宿?可憐諸禪和,剛J32nB273_p0204c28要相攢簇。雖然無受用,且喜相和睦,健者共成褫,病J32nB273_p0204c29者奉水菽。今朝端午節,無酒又無肉,擎出一杯茶,滿J32nB273_p0204c30泛菖蒲玉。且道成得甚麼事?人情若好,喫水也甜。」
J32nB273_p0205a01示眾:「老僧如胡孫種樹,種了便拔,看大眾生根也未?」J32nB273_p0205a02眾無語,師代云:「根生也。」
J32nB273_p0205a03示眾,舉魯祖面壁,南泉背上撫一掌公案,師云:「南泉J32nB273_p0205a04何必稱兩字名?當時更與兩掌,非惟坐斷魯祖舌頭,J32nB273_p0205a05且教後代兒孫免得做摸打樣。」
J32nB273_p0205a06示眾,舉:「臨濟如蒿枝拂相似公案,雪竇云:『臨濟放處J32nB273_p0205a07大危,收來太速。』松源拈拄杖云:『臨濟據令而行,不知J32nB273_p0205a08孤負黃檗;雪竇盡力擔荷,也只見得一邊。且道薦福J32nB273_p0205a09節文在甚麼處?』擲下拄杖。」師云:「二尊宿,一人聾雙耳J32nB273_p0205a10朵,一人瞎隻眼睛,不惟孤負臨濟,亦乃喪我兒孫。無J32nB273_p0205a11明今日路見不平,且要與渠雪屈。」良久,云:「不得動著,J32nB273_p0205a12動著打折你驢腰。」
J32nB273_p0205a13持法衣,上堂:「陳年布裰破毸毸,新製金襴天上來,褁J32nB273_p0205a14得虛空無少賸,山河朵朵笑顏開。」
J32nB273_p0205a15示眾,舉:「五祖演和尚云:『四五百碩麥,二三千碩稻,好J32nB273_p0205a16箇休糧方,耆婆不得妙。』」師云:「管取有錢常住,不無演J32nB273_p0205a17祖。若是將無作有、拔貧作富,須還無明始得。米不蓄J32nB273_p0205a18一粒,菜不栽一莖,任渠來往者,喫得飽彭亨。」
J32nB273_p0205a19示眾:「老僧今日口啞,不能與諸人說得。」
J32nB273_p0205a20示眾,舉:「盤山云:『心月孤圓,光吞萬象。光非照境,境亦J32nB273_p0205a21非存。光境俱亡,復是何物?』洞山云:『光境未亡,復是何J32nB273_p0205a22物?』」師云:「光境不亡,復是何物?」
J32nB273_p0205a23示眾:「大眾!柱杖不在,且作別時來。」
J32nB273_p0205a24雙林友雲和尚至,上堂云:「路逢道伴交肩過,一生參J32nB273_p0205a25學事畢。且道以何為驗?」拈柱杖卓一下,云:「空手把鋤J32nB273_p0205a26頭。」
J32nB273_p0205a27上堂,以拂子打圓相,云:「從上以來,只傳者一箇冬瓜J32nB273_p0205a28印子,印破汝等諸人面門,印空、印水、印泥,一一無差,J32nB273_p0205a29高低普印。麻三斤、乾屎橛,新婦騎驢阿家牽,蝦蟆𨁝J32nB273_p0205a30跳上天,蚯蚓驀過東海,印到彌勒下生也無箇了日。J32nB273_p0205b01畢竟如何?」喝一喝,下座。
J32nB273_p0205b02義烏縣尹周剛善至,上堂,拈柱杖云:「大眾見麼?韓文J32nB273_p0205b03公來也。」卓一卓,云:「先以定動,後以智拔。」便下座。
J32nB273_p0205b04龜峰道源和尚至,上堂:「作家相見,不在形言,擊鼓升J32nB273_p0205b05堂,聊陳供養,供養我龜峰和尚降尊就卑。昔應庵敘J32nB273_p0205b06謝大慧末句云:『虛空可量風可繫,無能盡說佛功德。』J32nB273_p0205b07即今下座,同大眾拜請和尚尊慈開示。」
J32nB273_p0205b08示眾,舉:「世尊謂迦葉曰:『吾有正法眼藏,分付與汝。』頌J32nB273_p0205b09曰:世尊拈華,迦葉微笑。賣與買人,不要不要。」
J32nB273_p0205b10示眾,舉:「梵志詩云:『梵志身死去,魂魄見閻老,讀盡百J32nB273_p0205b11王書,不免被捶拷。』風穴云:『一稱南無佛,皆已成佛道。』」J32nB273_p0205b12師云:「只是現成話,風穴用恰好。」
J32nB273_p0205b13示眾,云:「佛祖巴鼻,衲僧巴鼻,討甚巴鼻?咄!一一向胸J32nB273_p0205b14襟中流出,將來蓋天蓋地。」
J32nB273_p0205b15示眾,舉:「仰山道:『悟即不無,爭奈落在第二頭?』米胡深J32nB273_p0205b16肯之。」師云:「如鏡鑑像,像不來時,鏡將何鑑?如冰融水,J32nB273_p0205b17水歸源後,冰復何融?只如仰山、米胡二老宿與麼道,J32nB273_p0205b18還有為人處也無?若把半斤稱八兩,依然錯認定盤J32nB273_p0205b19星。」喝一喝。
J32nB273_p0205b20示眾,舉仰山四藤條公案,頌云:「集雲峰下四藤條,虎J32nB273_p0205b21驟龍奔海岳搖,選佛若無如是眼,如何留得到今朝?」
J32nB273_p0205b22示眾:「大眾!無明這裏只使無明,且無佛法。與你一棒,J32nB273_p0205b23大煞慈悲;與你一喝,十分直截。你若作棒喝商量,便J32nB273_p0205b24千里萬里也。久立。」
J32nB273_p0205b25示眾,舉:「法華舉和尚云:『釋迦不出世,達磨不西來,佛J32nB273_p0205b26法遍天下,談玄口不開。』無明則不然,釋迦太饒舌,達J32nB273_p0205b27磨太孤絕,諸方明眼人,敢保猶未徹?」
J32nB273_p0205b28示眾,舉:「傅大士云:『夜夜抱佛眠,朝朝還共起,起坐鎮J32nB273_p0205b29相隨,語默同居止,分毫不相離,如形影相似,欲識佛J32nB273_p0205b30去處,只這語聲是。』玄沙云:『大小傅大士只認得箇昭J32nB273_p0205c01昭靈靈。』洞山聰云:『且道衲僧家日裏還曾睡也無?』保J32nB273_p0205c02寧勇頌云:『要眠時即眠,要起時即起,水洗面皮光,啜J32nB273_p0205c03茶濕卻觜,大海紅塵生,平地波濤起,呵呵阿呵呵,哩J32nB273_p0205c04哩哩囉哩。』」師云:「三尊宿大似徐六擔板,傅大士又俗J32nB273_p0205c05氣未除,若論向上宗乘,總欠悟在。且道無明具甚麼J32nB273_p0205c06眼目?不見道:直須揮劍,若不揮劍,漁父棲巢。」
J32nB273_p0205c07示眾,師云:「有事出來問,無事便歇去。」無人出,師便下J32nB273_p0205c08座。
J32nB273_p0205c09示眾,舉:「伏牛在禪師為馬祖馳書上忠國師,國師問J32nB273_p0205c10馬祖:『師如何示徒?』云:『即心是佛。』國云:『是甚麼語話?』又J32nB273_p0205c11問:『更有甚言句?』云:『非心非佛。或云不是心,不是佛,不J32nB273_p0205c12是物。』國云:『猶較些子。』伏牛卻問:『未審和尚此間如何J32nB273_p0205c13示徒?』國云:『三點如流水,曲似刈禾鎌。』」師云:「伏牛當時J32nB273_p0205c14見國師恁麼道,只向道:『是甚麼語話?』不惟坐斷國師J32nB273_p0205c15舌頭,且與馬大師出得一口氣。」
J32nB273_p0205c16示眾,拈拄杖云:「古佛過去久矣,汝諸人更要第二杓J32nB273_p0205c17惡水那?」卓拄杖,下座。
J32nB273_p0205c18示眾,舉:「保寧勇和尚云:『一是一,二是二,三是三,四是J32nB273_p0205c19四,數目甚分明,上下依資次。依資次,有何事?』」以拄杖J32nB273_p0205c20劃一劃,云:「大眾!一時亂卻六十甲子了也。無明則不J32nB273_p0205c21然,一是二,二是三,三是四,不作方便,亦無漸次。且作J32nB273_p0205c22麼生是威音王以前底事?」拈拄杖卓一卓,云:「又是從J32nB273_p0205c23頭起。」
J32nB273_p0205c24示眾云:「真空絕朕,猶有真空;大道無名,猶名大道。所J32nB273_p0205c25以靈龜曳尾,拂跡跡生,釋迦、彌勒尚滯半途,文殊、普J32nB273_p0205c26賢皆須喫棒。汝諸人與麼參請,無明與麼提唱,還有J32nB273_p0205c27過也無?」良久,云:「盡力跳不出。」
J32nB273_p0205c28示眾,云:「不道無,只是少,所以達磨面壁於少林,釋迦J32nB273_p0205c29掩室於摩竭也。雖然如是,要見德山、臨濟則未可在。J32nB273_p0205c30何故?棒打石人頭,嚗嚗論實事。」
J32nB273_p0206a01示眾:「黃葉任隨流水去,白雲從便入山來,寥寥巖畔J32nB273_p0206a02三間屋,兩片柴門竟日開。」
J32nB273_p0206a03示眾,云:「貴糴廬陵米,大做鐵酸餡,普請諸禪流,堂中J32nB273_p0206a04自吞啗。阿呵呵!聊表殷勤,莫嫌冷淡。」
J32nB273_p0206a05示眾:「狂心不息,雖天上亦不稱意,便成佛亦是虛頭。J32nB273_p0206a06狂心一息,便是佛也不要做,更說甚麼天堂地獄?汝J32nB273_p0206a07諸人還息麼?」
J32nB273_p0206a08示眾,舉:「石門聰和尚云:『十五日已前諸佛生,十五日J32nB273_p0206a09已後諸佛滅。十五日已前,你不得離我這裏,我有鉤J32nB273_p0206a10鉤你;十五日已後,你不得住我這裏,我有錐錐你。且J32nB273_p0206a11道:正當十五日,用鉤即是?用錐即是?』遂有頌云:『正當J32nB273_p0206a12十五日,鉤錐一時息,更擬問如何?回頭日又出。』大慧J32nB273_p0206a13和尚云:『恢張三玄三要,扶豎臨濟正宗,須是恁麼人J32nB273_p0206a14始得。』雖然如是,雲門則不然,十五日已前,諸佛本不J32nB273_p0206a15曾生;十五日已後,諸佛本不曾滅。十五日已前,你若J32nB273_p0206a16離我這裏,我也不用鉤鉤你,一任橫擔拄杖、緊峭草J32nB273_p0206a17鞋;十五日已後,你若住我這裏,我也不用錐錐你,一J32nB273_p0206a18任拗折拄杖、高挂缽囊。且道:正當十五日合作麼生?」J32nB273_p0206a19乃云:「十五日前後,鉤錐徒爾為,今朝是十五,正好用J32nB273_p0206a20鉤錐。且作麼生用?路逢死蛇莫打殺,無底籃子盛將J32nB273_p0206a21歸。」師云:「二大老把手上高山,爭奈傍觀者哂?且道:無J32nB273_p0206a22明有甚長處?十五日已前諸佛生,以不生生為生;十J32nB273_p0206a23五日已後諸佛滅,以不滅滅為滅;十五日已前,你若J32nB273_p0206a24住我這裡,我卻用錐錐你,直須屍橫萬里、血濺梵天;J32nB273_p0206a25十五日已後,你若離我這裏,我卻用鉤鉤你,直須眉J32nB273_p0206a26毛廝結、鼻孔相拄。所以道:十五日前後,鉤錐常在手;J32nB273_p0206a27正當十五日,大家要知有。一任面南看北斗,艸木叢J32nB273_p0206a28林師子吼。」
J32nB273_p0206a29示眾,云:「今朝臘月二十五,雲門一曲曾無譜,爭似無J32nB273_p0206a30明調轉高,等閑唱出千山舞。大地為琴,虛空為鼓,拍J32nB273_p0206b01拍相隨,聲聲相助。汝諸人,須聽取,白雪陽春何足數?J32nB273_p0206b02箇中端的孰知音?寥寥永夜松風度。」
J32nB273_p0206b03示眾,云:「是法非思量分別之所能解。釋迦老子云:『我J32nB273_p0206b04於三七日,思惟如是事。』喚作不思量,得麼?達磨大師J32nB273_p0206b05云:『汝得吾髓。』喚作不分別,得麼?咦!相逢盡道休官去,J32nB273_p0206b06林下何曾見一人?」
J32nB273_p0206b07示眾,舉:「琅琊覺云:『有句無句,如藤倚樹,樹倒藤枯,好J32nB273_p0206b08一堆爛柴。』大慧云:『作賊人心虛。雖然如是,恩大難酬。』」J32nB273_p0206b09師云:「一人作佛法商量,一人作世諦流布,檢點將來,J32nB273_p0206b10總欠悟在。無明見處,也要諸人共知。有句無句,如藤J32nB273_p0206b11倚樹,樹倒藤枯響。」
J32nB273_p0206b12示眾,舉:「五祖演舉雲門云:『古佛與露柱相交是第幾J32nB273_p0206b13機?』自云:『南山起雲,北山下雨。』演云:『大小雲門元來小J32nB273_p0206b14膽。四面則不然,古佛與露柱相交是第四機。』」師云:「無J32nB273_p0206b15明敢道大小四面更是小膽。不然,何故道面皮厚三J32nB273_p0206b16寸,出語成不遜,好將臨濟棒,一日打三頓。」有問:「古佛J32nB273_p0206b17與露柱相交是第幾機?」「第一機,我為法王,於法自在。」
J32nB273_p0206b18示眾,舉:「道吾禪師云:『高不在絕頂,富不在福嚴,樂不J32nB273_p0206b19在天堂,苦不在地獄。相識滿天下,知心能幾人?』大慧J32nB273_p0206b20拈云:『徑山則不然,高在絕頂,富在福嚴,樂在天堂,苦J32nB273_p0206b21在地獄。誰知席帽下,元是昔愁人?』」師云:「絕頂高高未J32nB273_p0206b22是高,天堂地獄亦徒勞,若論生死輪迴事,今日明朝J32nB273_p0206b23與昨宵。」
J32nB273_p0206b24示眾:「簷頭雨滴滴,屋頭山寂寂,西來祖師意,大地人J32nB273_p0206b25誰識?正當與麼時,不費纖毫力,分付與東風,隨處生J32nB273_p0206b26顏色。」
J32nB273_p0206b27示眾,舉:「香嚴端禪師云:『語是謗,默是誑,語默向上有J32nB273_p0206b28事在。老僧口門窄,不能為汝說。』松源岳云:『香嚴與麼J32nB273_p0206b29道,是說不說?』良久,云:『喫茶去。』」師云:「香嚴是謗,松源是J32nB273_p0206b30誑,語默向上有甚麼事?無明口如巨海,徹底波瀾。」
J32nB273_p0206c01上堂:「插茅建梵剎,猶是時人功幹。十方無壁落,四面J32nB273_p0206c02亦無門。這裏道得倜儻分明,許你蓋天蓋地。不然,歸堂J32nB273_p0206c03參取露柱。」擊拂子,下座。
J32nB273_p0206c04示眾,舉:「文殊、普賢起佛見、法見,世尊威神貶向二鐵J32nB273_p0206c05圍山。」師拈云:「大眾!不起佛見、法見,還免得貶向鐵圍J32nB273_p0206c06山麼?世尊也是憐兒不覺醜。」
J32nB273_p0206c07冬至,上堂:「六陰已極一陽生,佛道還同世道亨。唯有J32nB273_p0206c08祖師門下客,依前日午打三更。」
J32nB273_p0206c09示眾:「莊子能齊物,千巖無物齊。饑來喫麥粥,衣垢洗J32nB273_p0206c10清溪。」
J32nB273_p0206c11初祖忌,示眾:「九年面壁,坐斷天下人舌頭;隻履西歸,J32nB273_p0206c12喪卻自家窮性命。吾本來茲土,又喪不盡也;傳法救J32nB273_p0206c13迷情,又坐不斷也。既坐不斷、喪不盡,畢竟作麼生?一J32nB273_p0206c14花開五葉,結果自然成。」
J32nB273_p0206c15示眾:「江月照,松風吹,面面青山展笑眉。經有經師,論J32nB273_p0206c16有論師,莫怪老僧無法說,勞汝諸人立片時。」
J32nB273_p0206c17示眾云:「一切世界中,有以音聲為佛事,有以光明為J32nB273_p0206c18佛事,有以飲食為佛事,有以莊嚴為佛事,是人行邪J32nB273_p0206c19道,不能見如來。如來者,無所從來,亦無所去。諸仁者!J32nB273_p0206c20且道如來即今在甚麼處?」
J32nB273_p0206c21示眾:「蓬頭垢面箇頭陀,天下禪和不奈何,便是佛來J32nB273_p0206c22須喫棒,如今年老卻成魔。」喝一喝。
J32nB273_p0206c23示眾:「大眾!一喝分賓主,照用一時行,要會箇中意,日J32nB273_p0206c24午打三更。諸禪德!臨濟大師四稜塌地了也。」乃喝一J32nB273_p0206c25喝。「且道那箇是賓?那箇是主?那箇是照?那箇是用?」又J32nB273_p0206c26喝。「只這是賓,只這是主,只這是照,只這是用。」又喝。「且J32nB273_p0206c27不是賓,且不是主,且不是照,且不是用,是箇甚麼?」又J32nB273_p0206c28喝,云:「進前求解會,特地斬精靈。」
J32nB273_p0206c29示眾:「龍門水急,一句截流;茅屋風高,千山起浪。三世J32nB273_p0206c30諸佛望風結舌,六代祖師斫額有分,天下老和尚仰J32nB273_p0207a01羡仰羡。是汝諸人既到這裏,作麼生與無明相見?」驀J32nB273_p0207a02拈拄杖,云:「與麼與麼,人境俱奪;不與麼不與麼,照用J32nB273_p0207a03同時。」卓一下,云:「龍生金鳳子,衝破碧琉璃。」喝一喝。
J32nB273_p0207a04杭州天龍禪寺新建僧堂,請上堂:「聖人在上,天下太J32nB273_p0207a05平,我為法王,於法自在。眾中莫有金毛師子麼?試出J32nB273_p0207a06來哮吼看。」僧問:「從上諸聖所傳何事?」師云:「本來無一J32nB273_p0207a07物,赫赫動乾坤。」進云:「昔日世尊周遊諸國,今日和尚J32nB273_p0207a08獨踞峰頭,還有為人處也無?」師云:「有。」進云:「如何是和J32nB273_p0207a09尚為人處?」師云:「老鼠喫貓飯。」進云:「學人不會。」師云:「碗J32nB273_p0207a10子樸落地,打破常住塼。」進云:「天龍新建僧堂,施主入J32nB273_p0207a11山設齋,請和尚就彼開堂,和尚還去麼?」師云:「你試定J32nB273_p0207a12當看。」進云:「與麼則和尚性命落在學人手裏。」師云:「海J32nB273_p0207a13東果子樹頭心。」僧禮拜,師云:「又道老僧性命在你手J32nB273_p0207a14裏。」豎拂子,召大眾,云:「本來無一物,赫赫動乾坤,擬議J32nB273_p0207a15不來時,迢迢十萬里。無明這裏只有一口劍,劍下有J32nB273_p0207a16分身之意,亦有出身之路。你若向活鱍鱍處著到,我J32nB273_p0207a17便教你性命不存;你若在淨裸裸處坐地,我便教你J32nB273_p0207a18雲生腳下。直須人境俱奪、殺活同時,自然海晏河清、J32nB273_p0207a19日上月下。何故宏開選佛場,心空便作狀元郎,傳來J32nB273_p0207a20只箇無文印,桂子香中舉手忙。」乃喝,云:「文生也!汝諸J32nB273_p0207a21人是拖白?是末名?是頭名?」良久,云:「龍生金鳳子,衝破J32nB273_p0207a22碧琉璃。」
復云:「茲承天龍禪寺無用貴首座偕生首J32nB273_p0207a23座入山設齋俵襯。持大道平長老香請曰:『今春蒙松J32nB273_p0207a24江蔡媽媽李氏淨心施財建新僧堂完備,請和尚向J32nB273_p0207a25彼中開堂說法,與淨心相見。』」師曰:「諾。」於是撾鼓陞堂,J32nB273_p0207a26集眾而告之曰:「無明以十方世界作一箇僧堂,行與J32nB273_p0207a27諸人同行、坐與諸人仝坐,乃至語默動靜、折旋俯仰,J32nB273_p0207a28未嘗與諸人有絲毫問隔,所以雪峰云:『僧堂前與汝J32nB273_p0207a29相見了也。』汝若頂門具眼,便見無明與淨心在僧堂J32nB273_p0207a30前相見;汝若更道在天龍僧堂前相見、在伏龍僧堂J32nB273_p0207b01前相見,我也知你是箇瞎漢,不惜眉毛。」復示一頌:「處J32nB273_p0207b02世界,無所著,圓阤阤,光爍爍,大中大,窄中窄。李氏淨J32nB273_p0207b03心雖女流,宛有丈夫之作略,針鋒上拄須彌盧,微塵J32nB273_p0207b04中現寶王剎。天龍道,用不盡,添得伏龍背地哂,赤肉J32nB273_p0207b05團上壁立千仞。阿呵呵,哩哩囉,東家作牛,西家作馬,J32nB273_p0207b06衲僧鼻孔一時穿,眼光爍破四天下。」復召大眾云:「是J32nB273_p0207b07甚麼?」
J32nB273_p0207b08示眾,舉:「白雲端和尚云:『古人留下一言半句未透時,J32nB273_p0207b09鐵壁相似。一日覷透,方知自己便作鐵壁。』如今作麼J32nB273_p0207b10生鐵壁鐵壁?」師喝一喝,云:「用鐵壁作麼?」
J32nB273_p0207b11示眾,舉:「舍利弗問須菩提:『夢中說六波羅蜜與覺時J32nB273_p0207b12同別?』須菩提云:『此義幽深,吾不能說。此會有彌勒大J32nB273_p0207b13士,汝往彼問。』」師別須菩提云:「寐語作麼?」
J32nB273_p0207b14因高麗自悟禪人請祖衣上堂,捧衣云:「大眾!零零落J32nB273_p0207b15落有些些,覿面相呈見也麼?不是春山雲片片,分明J32nB273_p0207b16秋雨後蕉芭,箇是高峰老師翁,天目山頭一生受用J32nB273_p0207b17不盡底。虎跑寶舟貴首座以我在杭州居山,囑與奉J32nB273_p0207b18持已三十年矣,今日伏龍山中二三百兄弟莫有擔J32nB273_p0207b19荷得底麼?有則師子一滴乳,無則且聽悟禪人請歸J32nB273_p0207b20高麗金剛山供養,令合國人知,待彌勒下生不妨兩J32nB273_p0207b21手分付。所以道:『衣以表信。可力爭耶?』阿難問迦葉云:J32nB273_p0207b22『師兄!世尊傳金襴外,別傳何物?』迦葉召阿難,阿難應J32nB273_p0207b23諾,迦葉云:『倒卻門前剎竿著。』我道迦葉要做阿難師J32nB273_p0207b24兄未得在。何也?待他道:『世尊傳金襴外,別傳何物?』但J32nB273_p0207b25召一聲,待他開口,劈脊便打,不惟扶豎得祖上門風,J32nB273_p0207b26亦且與天下衲子作個榜樣。」
J32nB273_p0207b27示眾,舉:「調達謗佛,生身陷地獄,佛令阿難傳旨:『汝在J32nB273_p0207b28獄中安否?』達云:『我雖在獄中,如受四禪天樂。』又令阿J32nB273_p0207b29難問:『汝還求出否?』達云:『我待世尊來便出。』阿難云:『世J32nB273_p0207b30尊是三界大師,豈有入地獄分?』達云:『我豈有出地獄J32nB273_p0207c01分?』」師云:「臨危不悚,真大丈夫。」
J32nB273_p0207c02示眾,舉:「盤山云:『似地擎山,不知山之孤峻;如石含玉,J32nB273_p0207c03不知玉之無瑕。若能如是,是真出家。』大慧云:『若能如J32nB273_p0207c04是,捏目生花。』」師云:「若能如是,不名出家。」
J32nB273_p0207c05示眾,舉:「僧問趙州:『承聞和尚親見南泉,是否?』州云:『鎮J32nB273_p0207c06州出大蘿蔔頭。』又僧問:『萬法歸一,一歸何處?』云:『我在J32nB273_p0207c07青州做一領布衫,重七斤。』舜老夫云:『鎮州蘿蔔大,青J32nB273_p0207c08州布衫重,要會箇中意,雞向五更啼。』」師云:「久響雲居,J32nB273_p0207c09元來只隨人腳跟轉。若是無明,但云:『鎮州蘿蔔大,青J32nB273_p0207c10州布衫重,要會箇中意,虛空剜窟寵。』」
J32nB273_p0207c11示眾,舉:「盤山云:『向上一路,千聖不傳。』慈明云:『向上一J32nB273_p0207c12路,千聖不然。』大慧云:『向上一路,熱碗鳴聲。』」師云:「向上J32nB273_p0207c13一路,在你腳底。」
J32nB273_p0207c14曹居士請升座。「婺州信士曹仁卿,同合宅貴眷就寺J32nB273_p0207c15設齋俵嚫,請老僧升座說法。老僧曰諾。會麼?盡大地J32nB273_p0207c16是箇老僧,盡大地是箇法座,更教老僧升甚麼座?說J32nB273_p0207c17甚麼法?記得五六年前行橋時,已曾到宅叨齋受嚫,J32nB273_p0207c18今日山中三四百眾喫齋受嚫,人人歡歡喜喜。只者J32nB273_p0207c19歡歡喜喜,增仁卿多少福田?長仁卿多少壽量?適來J32nB273_p0207c20長老已為仁卿向法座上舉揚,老僧只喫齋受嚫便J32nB273_p0207c21了,不用為蛇畫足,自然水到渠成。豈不見五祖演和J32nB273_p0207c22尚云:『端坐受供養,施主常安樂。』趙州云:『老僧在者裡J32nB273_p0207c23坐地,更說什麼佛法?』無明有條攀條,無條攀例?忽有J32nB273_p0207c24箇漢出來道:『和尚!你坐地分贓,他日作箇什麼填還J32nB273_p0207c25施主去?』只向道:『不作牛兮定作驢。』因甚如此?大丈夫J32nB273_p0207c26異類中行,不是差事。」
J32nB273_p0207c27示眾:「汝諸人只是不肯信自己是佛,所以向外馳求,J32nB273_p0207c28無箇放身命處。如今聽我說法時中,禮佛、看經、坐禪、J32nB273_p0207c29持戒、作福,便是向外馳求也,何況貪名逐利、淫聲愛J32nB273_p0207c30色,而不喚作向外馳求耶?要得不向外馳求,便請迴J32nB273_p0208a01光一照,和自己也無。自己既無,便無我、無你、無佛、無J32nB273_p0208a02眾生、無禪、無戒、無罪、無福、無名利、無聲色、無生、無死,J32nB273_p0208a03空勞勞地無一物為障為礙,然後隨緣應用,任運過J32nB273_p0208a04時,天上人間無不自在。臨濟云:『汝但歇得念念馳求J32nB273_p0208a05心,便與釋迦老子不別。』不是誑汝,汝須信得及始是。J32nB273_p0208a06祖師西來,也只做得箇指路底人。汝諸人只是行路J32nB273_p0208a07底,若要火急到家,不勞動步;若也茫茫這般走,轉走J32nB273_p0208a08轉遠。何故賺卻路頭?不見道:十方薄伽梵,一路涅槃J32nB273_p0208a09門。且道路頭在什麼處?」以柱杖劃一劃,云:「在這裡多J32nB273_p0208a10少直截?」
J32nB273_p0208a11因蔣居士施缽盂上堂,僧問:「大庾嶺頭一箇缽盂,明J32nB273_p0208a12上座為甚提不起?」師云:「用力太多。」進云:「今日蔣居士J32nB273_p0208a13施缽盂五百付,為甚人人提將去?」師云:「不費纖毫力。」J32nB273_p0208a14進云:「用力底是?不用力底是?」師云:「分身兩處看。」僧擬J32nB273_p0208a15再進語,師云:「問話且止,況此事不在語言文字上。何J32nB273_p0208a16謂也?盡十方世界是箇缽盂,三世諸佛在裏許轉大J32nB273_p0208a17法輪,歷代祖師、天下老和尚乃至一切有情無情總J32nB273_p0208a18在裏許頭出頭沒。汝等禪和家還跳得出麼?若跳得J32nB273_p0208a19出,須彌南畔把手同行;若跳不出,長連床上喫粥喫J32nB273_p0208a20飯。茲承常州直心居士同令弟月堂居士,委宏都寺J32nB273_p0208a21送缽盂五百副、齋米五十石及嚫資種種供養,登山J32nB273_p0208a22俵散,眾請升於此座舉唱宗乘以荅居士大心。且居士大心作如何荅?宗乘又J32nB273_p0208a23如何舉唱?若舉麻三斤、乾屎橛、鋸解、秤鎚之類,雖是本分家風,於諸人分上了無交涉,J32nB273_p0208a24免舉一兩則古話,也要諸人咬嚼。僧問楊岐:『天得一J32nB273_p0208a25清,地得一寧,衲僧得一,堪作什麼?』岐云:『缽盂口向天。』J32nB273_p0208a26有問無明,只向道:『披毛戴角。』又僧問洞山:『時時勤拂J32nB273_p0208a27拭,勿使惹塵埃,為甚不得衣缽?』山云:『直饒道本來無J32nB273_p0208a28一物,也不合得他衣缽。』雪竇云:『他既不受是眼,將來J32nB273_p0208a29底必應是瞎。』還見祖師衣缽麼?若於此入門,便乃兩J32nB273_p0208a30手分付,非唯大庾嶺頭一人提不起,設使合國人來,J32nB273_p0208b01且緩緩將去。」師云:「洞山太尊貴生,雪竇太慳吝生。無J32nB273_p0208b02明這裏則不然,將來底是眼,不受底是瞎。禪和家箇J32nB273_p0208b03箇腕頭有力,不怕提不起,不怕將不去,何處更覓祖J32nB273_p0208b04師?即今兩手分付大眾。無明與麼批判,且道與古人J32nB273_p0208b05相去多少?還有證明者麼?若證明得,居士功不浪施;J32nB273_p0208b06若證明不得,無明不惜眉毛,復成一頌。」以拂子打圓J32nB273_p0208b07相云:「大眾見麼?大地渾侖黑漆缽,吞吐虛空口門闊,J32nB273_p0208b08白飯山堆疊疊來,死人吃了都教活。畢竟此功歸阿J32nB273_p0208b09誰?常州在家蔣菩薩,老僧也只得一分,大家有眼何J32nB273_p0208b10曾瞎?分付囊藏又展開,千古萬古阿剌剌。」
J32nB273_p0208b11示眾,舉祖師云:「父母非我親,誰是最親者?諸佛非我J32nB273_p0208b12道,誰是最道者?雲蓋本云:『父母非我親,無有不親者;J32nB273_p0208b13諸佛非我道,無有不道者。』祖師得第一句,雲蓋得第J32nB273_p0208b14二句,有人添得一句,許伊鼎分三足。無明則不然,父J32nB273_p0208b15母非我親,我亦非親者;諸佛非我道,道亦非我者。祖J32nB273_p0208b16師也不得第一句,雲蓋也不得第二句。無明碎身如J32nB273_p0208b17微塵,何止頭破作七分?」
J32nB273_p0208b18上堂,僧問:「如何是第一句?」師云:「有口如啞。」進云:「如何J32nB273_p0208b19是第二句?」師云:「有眼如盲。」進云:「如何是第三句?」師云:J32nB273_p0208b20「棒折也未放你在。」師乃擲下拂子,云:「此是老僧第二J32nB273_p0208b21句。如何是第一句?」便下座。
J32nB273_p0208b22示眾,舉:「僧問投子:『不斷煩惱而入涅槃時如何?』子作J32nB273_p0208b23色云:『這箇師僧如發業殺人。』」師別云:「夜夜一覺眠,朝J32nB273_p0208b24朝三頓飽。」
J32nB273_p0208b25上堂,僧問:「如何是祖師西來意?」師云:「野馬入牛闌。」進J32nB273_p0208b26云:「達磨未來時如何?」師云:「在西天。」進云:「來後如何?」師J32nB273_p0208b27云:「在東土。」問:「如何是佛?」師云:「今日好雨。」進云:「如何是J32nB273_p0208b28道?」師云:「此去義烏不遠。」師乃云:「一塵起,大地收。」卓拄J32nB273_p0208b29杖:「釋迦老子在汝諸人腳底,達磨大師穿過諸人鼻J32nB273_p0208b30孔。還知麼?若知,蝦蟆口裏道將一句來;若不知,老僧J32nB273_p0208c01今日失利。」
J32nB273_p0208c02謝首座,上堂。舉:「五祖演和尚云:『槌碎蟠桃核,得見其J32nB273_p0208c03仁;捋斷驪龍鬚,得遇其寶。』雖然如是,未是好手。爭如J32nB273_p0208c04我伏龍山中天章首座,也不槌碎蟠桃核,頭頭應用J32nB273_p0208c05皆仁;也不捋斷驪龍鬚,處處全彰其寶。呼釋迦、彌勒J32nB273_p0208c06為灶下之奴,拈丈六金身作一莖之艸,吹毛一拂,血J32nB273_p0208c07濺梵天,珊瑚樹林,紅日杲杲。雖然如是,也只得一半。」J32nB273_p0208c08下座。
J32nB273_p0208c09示眾。僧問:「如何是賓中賓?」師云:「當胸叉手問他人。」進J32nB273_p0208c10云:「如何是賓中主?」師云:「堂上坐來日正午。」進云:「如何J32nB273_p0208c11是主中賓?」師云:「有時歡喜有時嗔。」進云:「如何是主中J32nB273_p0208c12主?」師云:「橫按莫邪無佛祖。」師乃云:「無明不會禪,問著J32nB273_p0208c13口便啞。嗔者從他嗔,罵者從他罵。好事不出門,惡事J32nB273_p0208c14傳天下。咄!」
J32nB273_p0208c15東陽陳君采至,示眾,舉:「白雲端因郭功父到,云:『夜來J32nB273_p0208c16作得箇山偈,說向大眾,請舉似諸方,非唯謝功父大J32nB273_p0208c17儒,且要天下有鼻孔衲僧脫卻貼肉汗衫。』乃云:『上大J32nB273_p0208c18人,丘乙己,化三千,七十士,尒小生,八九子,佳作仁,可J32nB273_p0208c19知禮也。』」師云:「白雲固是作家爐鞴,功父亦是煆了精J32nB273_p0208c20金,檢點將來,也好與三十棒。何故?一箇不合將常住J32nB273_p0208c21物作私己人情,一箇攻乎異端,斯害也已。要脫他天J32nB273_p0208c22下衲僧貼肉汗衫,倒添了百二十斤黃金鎖甲,如何J32nB273_p0208c23有箇洒洒落落時節?無明茅庵之下,君采大儒訪及,J32nB273_p0208c24我也不統夜思量作箇山偈,我也不擊鼓敘謝廣演J32nB273_p0208c25條章,只有一味杜田禪,自然兩眼對兩眼。如何是杜J32nB273_p0208c26田禪?」喝一喝,云:「朕聞上古,其風朴略。」
一日,新到三人J32nB273_p0208c27來參,師云:「三人同行,必有一智,智不到處,道將一句J32nB273_p0208c28來。」僧無語,師云:「智不在言,第二箇如何?」又無語,師云:J32nB273_p0208c29「第三箇漆桶道看。」又無語,師云:「卻是老僧罪過,且坐J32nB273_p0208c30喫茶。」
J32nB273_p0209a01示眾。僧問:「如何是大安樂底人?」師云:「劍樹刀山中坐,J32nB273_p0209a02鑊湯爐炭裏安身。」進云:「行何方便到此田地?」師云:「一J32nB273_p0209a03物亦不為。」進云:「古人一曲如何唱?」師云:「五音六律和J32nB273_p0209a04不得。」進云:「伏龍一曲又何如?」師云:「萬像森羅齊拍手。」J32nB273_p0209a05進云:「一種沒絃琴,唯師彈得妙。」乃作舞而去。師乃云:J32nB273_p0209a06「世尊拈花,眼裏撒沙;迦葉微笑,全身落艸;達磨面壁,J32nB273_p0209a07皇天苦屈;二祖安心,老鼠居金;德山行棒,莽莽蕩蕩;J32nB273_p0209a08臨濟下喝,喫鹽止渴;溈山水牯,泥裏洗土;仰山插鍬,J32nB273_p0209a09性命難逃;俱胝豎指,是何道理?雪峰輥毬,老不知羞;J32nB273_p0209a10石鞏張弓,誑謼盲聾;趙州勘婆,大有淆訛;玄沙未徹,J32nB273_p0209a11話作兩橛。這一隊不唧溜、老凍膿,生前鹵莽、死後瞞J32nB273_p0209a12頇,罪犯彌天、髑髏遍野,無明忍俊不禁,與渠一坑埋J32nB273_p0209a13卻。」拈拄杖卓一下,云:「直得十方世界風凜凜地,法堂J32nB273_p0209a14前何止草深一丈?汝諸人且道:向甚麼處出氣?」良久,J32nB273_p0209a15云:「擬心湊泊,二鐵圍山,放之自然,七穿八穴。」卓一下。
J32nB273_p0209a16因甯府施法被,上堂:「春雲乍卷,春雨初晴,花紅柳綠,J32nB273_p0209a17水碧山青,紫燕黃鸝,深談實相,叢林草木,盡作琴聲,J32nB273_p0209a18突出釋迦鼻孔,豁開達磨眼睛。只如今日齊郡夫人J32nB273_p0209a19張氏德真所施一片法被,上有一卷心經;喚作一卷J32nB273_p0209a20心經,又是一片法被;喚作一片法被,又是一卷心經。J32nB273_p0209a21金燄燄,錦層層,結角羅紋,重重寶印,縱橫十字,朵朵J32nB273_p0209a22珠瓔,莊嚴既妙,德相彌增,一一從夫人心中流出,一J32nB273_p0209a23一於諸佛分上圓明。老僧受了,諸人無分;諸人受了,J32nB273_p0209a24老僧無分。不如打歸常住,千年萬歲耀真燈。耀真燈,J32nB273_p0209a25復何憑?有時挂向華王座,也勝諸方黑漆屏。」
J32nB273_p0209a26上堂:「青天白日,起一片烏雲,轟一箇霹靂,下一陣大J32nB273_p0209a27雨,平地水高三尺五尺。有者道:『龍王變化。』有者道:『陰J32nB273_p0209a28陽氣合。』有者道:『人物業感。』有者道:『法爾如然。』有者道:J32nB273_p0209a29『總不與麼。』是皆測度如來境界,如取螢火燒須彌山。J32nB273_p0209a30畢竟如何?烹佛煉祖大鉗鎚,要與楊岐作頭底。」喝一J32nB273_p0209b01喝,下座。
J32nB273_p0209b02上堂,僧問:「如何是奪人不奪境?」師云:「日照山河影動J32nB273_p0209b03搖。」進云:「如何是奪境不奪人?」師云:「背水陣圓增勇健。」J32nB273_p0209b04進云:「如何是人境俱奪?」師云:「任是鋒刀常坦坦,假饒J32nB273_p0209b05毒藥也閑閑。」進云:「如何是人境俱不奪?」師云:「野老不J32nB273_p0209b06知堯舜力,鼕鼕打鼓祭江神。」僧禮拜,師乃云:「有麝自J32nB273_p0209b07然香,何用當風立?」
J32nB273_p0209b08上堂,僧問:「如何是露地白牛?」師云:「草裏臥。」進云:「甚麼J32nB273_p0209b09人騎得?」師云:「無髭鬚胡子。」進云:「三身中那一身說法?」J32nB273_p0209b10師云:「賣油婆子水梳頭。」進云:「德山棒、臨濟喝,意旨如J32nB273_p0209b11何?」師云:「惡人先做大。」進云:「如何是和尚家風?」師云:「無J32nB273_p0209b12力豎拳頭。」乃拈拄杖,云:「舉不顧,即差互。」卓一下。「擬思J32nB273_p0209b13量,何劫悟?」下座。
J32nB273_p0209b14上堂,舉:「僧問首山:『一毫未發時如何?』山云:『路逢穿耳J32nB273_p0209b15客。』『發後如何?』山云:『不用更遲疑。』」師云:「無明則不然。有J32nB273_p0209b16問:『一毫未發時如何?』云:『不逢穿耳客。』『發後如何?』云:『多J32nB273_p0209b17遇刻舟人。』」
J32nB273_p0209b18因僧來參,乃問:「甚處人?」僧云:「浙西。」師云:「此間無飯喫,J32nB273_p0209b19來作什麼?」僧云:「來求和尚佛法。」師喚僧近前,僧近前,J32nB273_p0209b20師打一拳,云:「會麼?」僧云:「不會。」師云:「呆子!拳頭也不識。」J32nB273_p0209b21因眾看經次,師舉起經云:「這是甚麼經?」眾無對。師代J32nB273_p0209b22云:「序品第一。」良久,云:「會麼?向下文長。」
J32nB273_p0209b23上堂,僧問:「達磨面壁,意旨如何?」師云:「有口開不得。」進J32nB273_p0209b24云:「人天交接,不得相見。如何是相見底事?」師云:「煙熏J32nB273_p0209b25黑漆桶。」進云:「浩浩塵中,如何辨主?」師舉拳示之。進云:J32nB273_p0209b26「辨後如何?」問云:「你主在甚處?」僧禮拜,師乃云:「秋風涼,J32nB273_p0209b27秋夜長,未歸客,思故鄉。大眾!如何是你故鄉?曷幸然,J32nB273_p0209b28家裡坐,不用苦思量。」
J32nB273_p0209b29上堂:「九月九,家家盡飲茱萸酒。堪笑山居道者家,兩J32nB273_p0209b30枚豆粽塞卻口。大寒酸,無可有,八角磨盤空裡走。卻J32nB273_p0209c01有些兒勝俗人,日日面南看北斗。」
J32nB273_p0209c02上堂,舉:「楊岐云:『天得一以清,地得一以寧,君王得一J32nB273_p0209c03以治天下。衲僧得一堪作甚麼?』良久,云:『缽盂口向天。』」J32nB273_p0209c04師云:「大小楊岐,熟處難忘。衲僧得一且作麼生?」以拄J32nB273_p0209c05杖卓一下,喝一喝,下座。
J32nB273_p0209c06示眾:「不是心,不是佛,不是物,是何物?」拈拄杖,云:「崑崙J32nB273_p0209c07扶起瞎波斯,一槌擊碎黃金骨。」卓一下。
J32nB273_p0209c08上堂:「鼓聲纔動,大眾雲臻,法座高登,主賓互換,箇箇J32nB273_p0209c09頂天立地,人人鼻孔遼天,不問如何若何,自然現成J32nB273_p0209c10受用。不見道:『百味珍羞,無過一飽。』」下座。
J32nB273_p0209c11師因俗官見貓兒,問云:「貓兒喫肉否?」師云:「不喫肉,只J32nB273_p0209c12喫老鼠。」官云:「善知識如何容得他?」師云:「教官人莫來J32nB273_p0209c13不得。」
J32nB273_p0209c14上堂,僧問:「釋迦、彌勒猶是他奴,未審他是阿誰?」師云:J32nB273_p0209c15「糞掃堆頭生苕帚。」進云:「學人不會。」師云:「問取淨頭。」進J32nB273_p0209c16云:「大悲千手眼,那箇是正眼?」師云:「點。」進云:「如何是最J32nB273_p0209c17初一句?」師云:「如是我聞。」進云:「此是第二句。」師云:「信受J32nB273_p0209c18奉行。」僧禮拜,師乃云:「諸佛、諸祖只是你諸人自己,若J32nB273_p0209c19信得及,無明縱有百千大棒也打不著、有百千舌頭J32nB273_p0209c20也讚歎不及。何故?不見道:第一句中薦得,堪與佛祖J32nB273_p0209c21為師;如或未然,十二時中也須回光返照看。不是心、J32nB273_p0209c22不是佛、不是物,是甚麼?狗子還有佛性也無?無是甚J32nB273_p0209c23麼?如何是佛?麻三斤是甚麼?」
J32nB273_p0209c24上堂,僧問:「如何是南宗?北宗?」師云:「東瓜直儱侗,瓠子J32nB273_p0209c25曲彎彎。」進云:「學人不會。」師云:「喫了東瓜喫瓠子。」進云:J32nB273_p0209c26「如何是第一句?」師云:「老僧道不得。」進云:「和尚為甚道J32nB273_p0209c27不得?」師云:「道得是第二句。」僧禮拜,師乃云:「是法住法J32nB273_p0209c28位,世間相常住,山是山、水是水、僧是僧、俗是俗,盡乾J32nB273_p0209c29坤大地無絲毫過患。德山、臨濟門下又且不然。畢竟J32nB273_p0209c30如何?剛然愛結死冤家,擉瞎頂門三隻眼。」
J32nB273_p0210a01上堂:「老僧有口道不得。」乃合掌云:「汝等皆當作佛。」便J32nB273_p0210a02下座。
J32nB273_p0210a03示眾:「眨上眉毛蹉過伊,大開兩眼復名誰?滿天滿地J32nB273_p0210a04無人識,百草頭邊活祖師。」
J32nB273_p0210a05示眾:「吾本來茲土,傳法救迷情。著甚死急?直饒二祖J32nB273_p0210a06得髓,兒孫遍天下,還免得隻履西歸也無?所以無明J32nB273_p0210a07也不把你諸人為事,諸人也不把無明為事,思量總J32nB273_p0210a08是空篩氣,何不留將暖肚皮?」
J32nB273_p0210a09示眾,拈拂子云:「老僧有一句子說與諸人看。」擲拂子,J32nB273_p0210a10便下座。
J32nB273_p0210a11示眾,舉:「益州通禪師問夾山云:『目前無法,意在目前。J32nB273_p0210a12不是目前法,非耳目之所到,豈不是和尚語?』山云:『是。』J32nB273_p0210a13通乃掀到禪床,叉手而立,夾山打一棒。」師云:「山打一J32nB273_p0210a14棒,是目前法?不是目前法?掀到禪床,是會夾山意?不J32nB273_p0210a15會夾山意?諸禪德!道!道!道得許你入阿字法門。」
J32nB273_p0210a16示眾,舉巖頭渡婆子拋兒子公案,師云:「這婆子自底J32nB273_p0210a17性命要且捨不得,巖頭不合激發他殺了一箇兒子。J32nB273_p0210a18據令而行,各與七十棒。諸禪德!若謂不公,卻請斷看。」
J32nB273_p0210a19示眾:「今朝十五,槌鐘打鼓,咄哉老僧,泥裏洗土。」
J32nB273_p0210a20上堂:「主人翁,錯。惺惺著,錯。他時後日不受人謾,錯。且J32nB273_p0210a21道瑞巖錯?千巖錯?錯!錯!」
J32nB273_p0210a22客至,上堂:「披衣登法座,道者是高僧,將謂多奇特,元J32nB273_p0210a23來百不能。西風吹細雨,落葉滿空庭,有客來相訪,青J32nB273_p0210a24山自送迎。」
J32nB273_p0210a25浴佛,上堂:「摩耶今日產嬰孩,剛道天宮降下來。不是J32nB273_p0210a26雞窠生鳳卵,分明象子出驢胎。無明果向空中結,三J32nB273_p0210a27毒華從火裡開。堪嘆禍根深不拔,叢林一歲一番災。」
J32nB273_p0210a28御香至,上堂:「御香來自九重天,一縷煙雲遍大千。林J32nB273_p0210a29下野人何以報?祝延聖壽萬斯年。」
J32nB273_p0210a30檀越樓清翁一得,建山門,塑金剛,開光明。示眾,以筆J32nB273_p0210b01點一點,云:「這一箇莫道不曾相識好。」又點一點,云:「這J32nB273_p0210b02一箇卻即是樓一得。外護山門,內承佛記,金剛正體,J32nB273_p0210b03洞徹十虛,大用現前,威而不猛,有為界中不壞無為J32nB273_p0210b04之相,無為界上不宰有為之功,爾能借我神通,我亦J32nB273_p0210b05助君精彩。所以道:『眼眼相覷,面面相對,灼然不在筆J32nB273_p0210b06尖頭,自有光明動天地。』」
J32nB273_p0210b07檀越樓文翁,造殿又塑佛。開光明,示眾云:「德山拆卻J32nB273_p0210b08殿,丹霞燒卻佛,樓文翁造殿又塑佛。且道拆殿燒佛J32nB273_p0210b09底是?起殿塑佛底是?」以筆點云:「這裏見得,靈山一會J32nB273_p0210b10儼然未散;若也不見,是真精進,是名真法供養如來。J32nB273_p0210b11若要分明,更下注腳,作福者作福,造罪者造罪,張公J32nB273_p0210b12喫酒李公醉,總不干無明一星子事。」乃呵呵大笑。
J32nB273_p0210b13日本祖能首座請衣,上堂。舉:「石門聰和尚云:『西天二J32nB273_p0210b14十八祖盡得傳衣付法,唐土六祖之後得道者多,只J32nB273_p0210b15傳其法,不傳其衣。』無明則不然,衣以表法,故謂之法J32nB273_p0210b16衣;人能宏道,故謂之法身;無處不遍、無處不明,故謂J32nB273_p0210b17之法眼。高峰老祖法衣一頂,今春對眾請與高麗國J32nB273_p0210b18金剛山供養去也。幻住先師法衣一頂,我得來三十J32nB273_p0210b19年矣,如今大拙首座又要請歸供養。雖然如是,從上J32nB273_p0210b20諸祖各各有三十棒分,無明亦有三十棒分。眾中莫J32nB273_p0210b21有下得這般毒手者麼?有,則出來下手看;如無,他時J32nB273_p0210b22後日不得向背地裏苦叫屈。」擊拂子,下座。
小參
J32nB273_p0210c02杭州天龍禪寺慶讚佛閣僧堂小參,拈拂子云:「大眾!J32nB273_p0210c03我有一問在你諸人處,你諸人莫有將我問來問我J32nB273_p0210c04者麼?」僧問:「如何是和尚問處?」師云:「問處也不知。」進云:J32nB273_p0210c05「古人道:『問在答處,答在問處。』此意如何?」師云:「三十棒J32nB273_p0210c06付在來日。」進云:「天龍長老為淨心鑒義入山設齋俵J32nB273_p0210c07嚫,未審有何福報?」師云:「三尺一丈六。」僧禮拜,師云:「因J32nB273_p0210c08我得禮你。」師乃豎拂子云:「森羅及萬像,一法之所印,J32nB273_p0210c09是大神咒、是大明咒、是無上咒、是無等等咒,三世諸J32nB273_p0210c10佛說也說不到、歷代祖師傳也傳不來,唯是上上根J32nB273_p0210c11器、頂𩕳上豁開正眼、腳跟下一覷覷透,盡十方世界J32nB273_p0210c12無有一人不是自己、無有一物不在自己光明裏,如J32nB273_p0210c13千日並照,罄無側影。若是尋光美影,展轉沒交涉,直J32nB273_p0210c14饒萬里不掛片雲,青天也須喫棒。教中道:『若以色見J32nB273_p0210c15我、以音聲求我,是人行邪道,不能見如來。』」復豎拂子J32nB273_p0210c16云:「大眾!見麼?要且不是色。」喝一喝云:「聞麼?要且不是J32nB273_p0210c17聲。既不是聲、又不是色,既不是見、又不是聞,喚甚麼J32nB273_p0210c18作邪道?又喚甚麼作如來?泥團土塊眼睛開,如如狗J32nB273_p0210c19子何曾佛性無?雖然道箇如如,早是變了也。且道變J32nB273_p0210c20作甚麼?」以拂子劃一劃云:「上劃不長,下劃不短。」
J32nB273_p0210c21杭州無用貴長老與無明云:「松江淨心比丘尼為天J32nB273_p0210c22龍起蓋佛閣僧堂、明樓法堂、東淨西菴種種緣事,今J32nB273_p0210c23夏畢工,另備物料到山設齋俵嚫,請和尚升座,舉揚J32nB273_p0210c24正法眼藏、涅槃玅心,追嚴幻居士蔡公及孟賓學錄J32nB273_p0210c25同登寶所,兼報四恩三有,普令法界之內、血氣之屬J32nB273_p0210c26知有我宗門中超生越死一段奇特大事。所謂奇特J32nB273_p0210c27大事者,不是你小智小德、凡愚小可之事。何故?見底J32nB273_p0210c28大便知底大,知底大便說底大,說底大便做底大,做J32nB273_p0210c29底大便成底大,成底大無有不大者,人中則為大人、J32nB273_p0210c30賢中則為大賢、聖中則為大聖,如天普蓋、如地普擎、J32nB273_p0211a01如虛空普包,虛空普包萬物而無能包之心,此事能J32nB273_p0211a02包虛空亦無能包之相,所以道:『空生大覺中,如海一J32nB273_p0211a03漚發。』只要你諸人直下信得及、覷得透,便與釋迦老J32nB273_p0211a04子不別,元來自己分上有這一段奇特大事,可以超J32nB273_p0211a05生越死、可以超凡越聖、可以超佛越祖。臨濟云:『你一J32nB273_p0211a06念清淨光,是你屋裏法身佛。』巖頭云:『一一從自己胸J32nB273_p0211a07襟中流出,蓋天蓋地去。』幻住和尚云:『父母未生前,那J32nB273_p0211a08箇是本來面目?』你若見得本來面目,自然生本不生、J32nB273_p0211a09死本不死,常于日用中轉不可測底機輪,自然活轆J32nB273_p0211a10轆地,雖在聲色中不為聲色所惑,雖處萬法中不為J32nB273_p0211a11萬法所移,雖居三界中洞明三界二十五有、善惡果J32nB273_p0211a12報、苦樂業緣,而無纖毫執著、亦無纖毫所礙,不彈指J32nB273_p0211a13便入毘盧大莊嚴樓閣之中,現不可說重重樓閣,一J32nB273_p0211a14一樓閣中現不可說重重境界,一一境界中現不可J32nB273_p0211a15說重重莊嚴,須彌盧為之床座,香水海為之屎坑,一J32nB273_p0211a16一屎坑中蛆虫皆現大人之相,一一床座中有大善J32nB273_p0211a17知識,叱文殊為奴,以普賢為婢,行棒行喝,接上上大J32nB273_p0211a18機,至於種種說法、種種利生,無一塵不是道場、無一J32nB273_p0211a19法不是佛事,交光相羅,如帝珠網,互相攝入,互相顯J32nB273_p0211a20現,一一出生,重重無盡。有般瞎漢便道:『此是表顯之J32nB273_p0211a21說,和尚莫錯。』又有般道:『金屑雖貴,落眼成翳。』癡人不J32nB273_p0211a22可與你說夢。你這裏信得及,皆吾心之常分,初不假J32nB273_p0211a23於他術。苟有纖毫信之不及,及之不盡,便為滲漏,便J32nB273_p0211a24成滯礙,如何能拈一莖草作丈六金身,插一莖草而J32nB273_p0211a25建梵剎,向一莖草上現瓊樓玉殿耶?白雲端和尚云:J32nB273_p0211a26『若端的得一回汗出,便向一莖草上現出瓊樓玉殿;J32nB273_p0211a27若未端的得一回汗出,縱有瓊樓玉殿,卻被一莖草J32nB273_p0211a28蓋卻。』作麼生得一回汗出去?自有一雙窮相手,不曾J32nB273_p0211a29容易舞三臺。後來大慧和尚拈云:『一莖草上現瓊樓J32nB273_p0211a30玉殿,決定可信;瓊樓玉殿被一莖草蓋卻,莫被他熱J32nB273_p0211b01瞞。』徑山與麼道,與已得一回汗出者說;若未得一回J32nB273_p0211b02汗出,不得疑著。夫謂善知識者,是大因緣,解粘去縛,J32nB273_p0211b03蓋是尋常,奪食驅耕,還它敏手。白雲張千鈞之弩,豈J32nB273_p0211b04為鼷鼠發機?大慧垂四海之鉤,只要獰龍上釣。且道J32nB273_p0211b05無明者裏作麼生?既有一雙窮相手,不妨容易舞三J32nB273_p0211b06臺。久立,珍重。」
J32nB273_p0211b07東陽法界寺,小參:「世尊乞食,入於王城;千巖下山,游J32nB273_p0211b08於此地。眾中莫有共相證據者麼?」問答不錄拈拄杖,云:「大J32nB273_p0211b09眾見麼?」喝一喝,云:「大眾聞麼?聞聲悟道,見色明心。汝J32nB273_p0211b10諸人總見、總聞,作麼生是你明底心、悟底道?若識得J32nB273_p0211b11無明拄杖子,便識得自己主人翁;既識得自己主人J32nB273_p0211b12翁,又喚甚麼作明底心、悟底道?」良久,顧視左右,云:「但J32nB273_p0211b13以假名字,引導一切人。茲者,承萬里山召予一眾午J32nB273_p0211b14齋,令陞此座,舉唱宗乘,開發未悟。汝諸人各各有一J32nB273_p0211b15對眼睛烏律律地、有一雙耳朵虛靈靈地,肚饑便要J32nB273_p0211b16喫飯、內逼便要屙屎。豈不是你諸人底喫飯、屙屎?佛J32nB273_p0211b17眼裏放光,照見山河大地;耳裏放光,照見一切音聲。」J32nB273_p0211b18復拈拄杖,云:「豈不是色是佛色?」喝一喝,云:「豈不是聲J32nB273_p0211b19是佛聲?這裏明得、悟得,喫法界山主午齋不曾咬破J32nB273_p0211b20一粒米。如或未然,聽取一頌:『雙塔崔嵬聳碧空,東陽J32nB273_p0211b21獨此梵王宮;義烏有箇無明老,拄杖攜來見主翁。』作J32nB273_p0211b22麼生是賓主互換底句子?」卓拄杖一下,下座。
J32nB273_p0211b23檀越樓子賢薦母請對靈小參,拈瓶中花云:「大眾見J32nB273_p0211b24麼?會麼?世尊拈起一枝花,迦葉便乃微微而笑;老僧J32nB273_p0211b25拈起一枝花,眾中莫有微笑者麼?」問答不錄復云:「舉一不J32nB273_p0211b26得舉二,放過一著,落在第二。世尊拈花,迦葉微笑,已J32nB273_p0211b27是第二頭、第三首。老僧與麼提唱、大眾與麼儼臨,且J32nB273_p0211b28道明得甚麼事?不見道:『吾有正法眼藏、涅槃玅心分J32nB273_p0211b29付于汝,汝當流布,無令斷絕。』只如今日故檀越老安J32nB273_p0211b30人李氏娘子五七之辰,他令嗣子賢、子潤、子瑞及諸J32nB273_p0211c01孫、闔宅貴眷設齋供養佛僧,請無明升于此座,舉揚J32nB273_p0211c02正法眼藏、涅槃妙心。老安人涅槃與諸佛涅槃同耶?J32nB273_p0211c03不同耶?若言同,諸佛是黃金丈六之身、老安人是父J32nB273_p0211c04母所生之身,法身、色身本無二相。正與麼時,作麼生J32nB273_p0211c05道得諦當?一句道得,不惟老安人便登佛位,亦令現J32nB273_p0211c06前一種若見、若聞,同成正覺;如或未然,無明又打葛J32nB273_p0211c07藤瞞你諸人去也。」復拈花云:「妙性圓明,離諸名相,本J32nB273_p0211c08來無有;世界眾生,因妄有生、因生有滅。生滅名妄、滅J32nB273_p0211c09妄名真。無明手中一枝花真耶?妄耶?生耶?滅耶?有耶?J32nB273_p0211c10無耶?眾生耶?世界耶?名相耶?妙性耶?釋迦老子即今J32nB273_p0211c11在者一枝花上,於一花中現百千萬葉,於一一葉中J32nB273_p0211c12現百千萬世界,于一一世界中現百千萬佛身,於一J32nB273_p0211c13一佛身中現百千萬種光明,於一一光明中現百千J32nB273_p0211c14萬種相好,令百千萬種眾生有眼者見、有耳者聞、有J32nB273_p0211c15身者知、有心者覺,所謂見聞知覺無障礙,聲香味觸J32nB273_p0211c16常三昧。一切眾生既如是,十方諸佛亦如是,生底檀J32nB273_p0211c17越亦如是,死底檀越亦如是,無明老漢亦如是,現前J32nB273_p0211c18大眾亦如是。如是之法,如是如是,不是強為,法如是J32nB273_p0211c19故。所以雲門大師云:『聞聲悟道,見色明心。觀音菩薩J32nB273_p0211c20將錢買胡餅,放下手卻是饅頭。』你若識得雲門底胡J32nB273_p0211c21餅,便是今日喫底饅頭,麥裡有麵,米裡有飯,不出門J32nB273_p0211c22見天下,不動步游十方,不彈指開彌勒重重樓閣之J32nB273_p0211c23門,不開口常轉如是經,百千萬億卷正法眼藏,兩手J32nB273_p0211c24分付涅槃妙心,更非別人。只如僧問馬祖:『如何是佛?』J32nB273_p0211c25祖云:『即心是佛。』其僧言下大悟,便信自心是佛。六根J32nB273_p0211c26門中塵塵是佛之光明,萬法境上種種是佛之妙用,J32nB273_p0211c27生本不生,死本不死。所以老僧道:『檀越老安人,即今J32nB273_p0211c28已成佛,蔭庇諸兒孫,倍增無量福。』畢竟以何為據?」復J32nB273_p0211c29拈花云:「一花一國一如來,無影枝頭葉葉開,遍界光J32nB273_p0211c30明遮不得,黃金地上玉樓臺。」下座。
普說
J32nB273_p0212a02除夜普說,召大眾云:「還會得臘月三十日事麼?會得J32nB273_p0212a03臘月三十日事,便透得箇趙州無字;透得趙州個無J32nB273_p0212a04字,便會得老僧意;會得老僧意,便知未開口時與你J32nB273_p0212a05普說了也。更擬事持語言,形於紙墨,明眼人前一場J32nB273_p0212a06笑具,信知此事不在文字語言上。一大藏教,圓說偏J32nB273_p0212a07說,顯說密說;天下老和尚,橫說豎說,向上向下說;諸J32nB273_p0212a08子百家,千說萬說;日上月下,夜暗晝明;山高水深,風J32nB273_p0212a09動雲起;若聞若見,萬法樅然;塵說剎說,虛空說國土J32nB273_p0212a10說,熾然說無間歇,何曾無語言文字來?因甚二祖三J32nB273_p0212a11拜,達摩謂之得髓,師資會遇,冥然吻合?以至六祖不J32nB273_p0212a12會,德山棒,臨濟喝,魯祖面壁,傳也傳不得,說也說不J32nB273_p0212a13得,故云教外別傳之旨。何不直下與麼會去,與麼休J32nB273_p0212a14歇去,與麼省力去,卻外求許多拉圾築在肚皮裏,增J32nB273_p0212a15長無明,滋培業識,牽入生死海裡浮沉,未有了日。所J32nB273_p0212a16以道:普者不說,說者不普。僧問趙州:『狗子還有佛性J32nB273_p0212a17也無?』州云:『無。』只這一箇無字,不是有無之無,不是無J32nB273_p0212a18無之無,不是亦有亦無之無,不是非有非無之無。如J32nB273_p0212a19今人根器薄劣,隨語生解,多執己見,見有執有,見無J32nB273_p0212a20執無,道有著有,道無著無,道亦有亦無著亦有亦無,J32nB273_p0212a21道非有非無著非有非無。西天九十六種外道,有無J32nB273_p0212a22二見為其根本,此方亦然。先聖慈悲之故,破你執,拔J32nB273_p0212a23你見,截你四路葛藤,只要你親證親悟,透頂透底,做J32nB273_p0212a24箇洒洒落落無事人,除非不動,動如獅王哮吼一聲,J32nB273_p0212a25壁立萬仞。老僧早年參數員尊宿,多教提無字話,有J32nB273_p0212a26者道:『問在答處,答在問處。』狗子!無佛性,有業識;無業J32nB273_p0212a27識,有佛性。既有有無,又有問答,要見趙州,遠之遠矣。J32nB273_p0212a28又有道:『如一口劍相似,擬議則傷鋒犯手,不擬議則J32nB273_p0212a29喪身失命。』復引五祖演和尚頌證云:『趙州露刃劍,寒J32nB273_p0212a30霜光燄燄。更擬問如何,分身作兩段?』大慧和尚云:『參J32nB273_p0212b01學人向露刃劍上著得隻眼,便是千了百當。』五祖、大J32nB273_p0212b02慧則是,你則未是。又有道:『如一座須彌山相似,須彌J32nB273_p0212b03山生佛未具已前一著子也,緊緊靠著,不得放捨。』復J32nB273_p0212b04引雪巖和尚云:『單單提一箇無字,如靠一座須彌山』J32nB273_p0212b05為證。一座山又有箇人靠,如何喚作生佛未具已前J32nB273_p0212b06一著子也?又有教人閉眉合眼,做死模樣,將箇無字J32nB273_p0212b07頂在額上,或放鼻尖上,或頓面前,或向赤肉團上上J32nB273_p0212b08度,或向心意裏妄想搏量,認得些子光影,便為極則。J32nB273_p0212b09密室傳授,遞相印證,入邪見稠林,作魔家眷屬。又有J32nB273_p0212b10喻如鐵掃帚,掃盡昏散,朗如虛空,此是應病與藥,病J32nB273_p0212b11去藥存,藥返為病。如上所明,各各自謂宗門中爪牙,J32nB273_p0212b12檢點將來,不出四句所攝,斷人命根,要且未在。末上J32nB273_p0212b13見中峰老和尚,於別不花平章府中請益無字話,歸J32nB273_p0212b14靈隱,不出僧堂者三年,十二時中只在個無字著到。J32nB273_p0212b15一日,在望亭聞鵲聲,忽得箇歡喜處,因陳所見,和尚J32nB273_p0212b16略不肯,遂發憤歸受業。夜臥間,聞老鼠翻飯碗墮地,J32nB273_p0212b17喜不自勝。達旦,亟往見老和尚,和尚見來,便云:『趙州J32nB273_p0212b18因甚道箇無字?』云:『老鼠喫貓飯。』云:『未在,更道。』云:『和碗J32nB273_p0212b19也打破。』老和尚乃笑,不復詰。後拜辭,囑云:『汝宜隱遁J32nB273_p0212b20嚴谷,不可隨世流布,時節若至,其理自彰。』二十年來,J32nB273_p0212b21縛茅株守,似箇死漢,自救不了,敢言為人?山中百餘J32nB273_p0212b22人兄弟,遠從千里萬里,拋卻師長父母,來此相聚,誠J32nB273_p0212b23不易得。年窮歲盡,火冷灰寒,廢寢忘飧,不為別事。已J32nB273_p0212b24透關者,不在叮嚀;未透關者,切須子細。出息不保入J32nB273_p0212b25息,今朝不保來朝,言鋒若差,鄉關萬里。死生事大,各J32nB273_p0212b26自努力。珍重。」
J32nB273_p0212b27僧問:「世尊拈花,迦葉微笑;達磨面壁,二祖安心。祖祖J32nB273_p0212b28傳來者一句,師今端的付何人?」師云:「未到你在。」進云:J32nB273_p0212b29「師子窟中師子、旃檀林裏旃檀,為甚未到學人?」師云:J32nB273_p0212b30「一絲頭上三千界。」進云:「不是心、不是佛、不是物,是箇J32nB273_p0212c01甚麼?」師云:「你道是箇甚麼?」進云:「未審向上還有事也J32nB273_p0212c02無?」師云:「有。」進云:「如何是向上事?」師云:「不是心、不是佛、J32nB273_p0212c03不是物。」僧禮拜,師乃舉起拂子,云:「一句中具三玄、一J32nB273_p0212c04玄中具三要,所以道:『第一句中薦得,堪與佛祖為師。』J32nB273_p0212c05只這一句子流出百千萬億句,句中具不可說不可J32nB273_p0212c06說妙義,覓一絲毫妙義了不可得;百千萬億句收入J32nB273_p0212c07這一句,句中顯不可說不可說形相,覓一絲毫形相J32nB273_p0212c08亦不可得。壁如虛空具含眾像,於諸境界無所分別;J32nB273_p0212c09又如虛空入諸國土,於諸國土而無所入。」復舉拂子J32nB273_p0212c10召大眾,云:「見麼?不是心、不是佛、不是物,是箇甚麼?」喝J32nB273_p0212c11一喝,云:「大眾!聞麼?不是心、不是佛、不是物,是箇甚麼?J32nB273_p0212c12只此見聞非見聞,無餘聲色可呈君。是中若了俱無J32nB273_p0212c13事,體用何妨分不分?若分,色見聲求,是行邪道;若不J32nB273_p0212c14分,顢頇佛性,儱侗真如。到這裏,須是出格過量底人J32nB273_p0212c15始得。還委悉麼?直透萬里關,不住青霄內。」謝辭不錄
J32nB273_p0212c16復云:「山中草創所在,若要講諸方叢林禮數,也講未J32nB273_p0212c17得。今夏雖有三四百兄弟,也有數間屋子,長老、首座J32nB273_p0212c18有工夫請自去講。老僧只是聖壽寺一箇園頭,二十J32nB273_p0212c19年庵居,一味社田頭佛法,把鉏頭時、鏟草擇菜時、燒J32nB273_p0212c20火時、掃地時、喫粥喫飯時、阿屎送尿時,未嘗不與諸J32nB273_p0212c21人眉毛廝結,性命相負,的的舉揚,又要打大鼓、升法J32nB273_p0212c22座、做模打樣作甚麼?適來禪客與麼問,老僧與麼答,J32nB273_p0212c23如此問答,如此激揚,汝諸人這一句子還分曉也未?J32nB273_p0212c24若分曉,父母未生前面目亦分曉;父母未生前面目J32nB273_p0212c25分曉,四大分散後底事亦分曉;四大分散後事分曉,J32nB273_p0212c26即今日用事亦分曉;即今日用事分曉,一動一靜,一J32nB273_p0212c27語一默,一起一倒,一生一死,生也與麼,死也與麼。生J32nB273_p0212c28死中有佛,則不迷生死;生死中無佛,則無生死。與麼J32nB273_p0212c29則無有不分曉底時節。所以道:『十方世界是箇老僧,J32nB273_p0212c30盡十方世界是箇法座,盡十方世界是箇院子,盡十J32nB273_p0213a01方世界是你諸人自己,盡十方世界只是這一句子。』J32nB273_p0213a02這一句子明得,無有不明底句子;這一句子透得,無J32nB273_p0213a03有不透底道理。前故云:『須出格過量底人始得。』大眾!J32nB273_p0213a04要識出格過量人麼?」舉起拂子云:「釋迦老子來也,天J32nB273_p0213a05上天下,唯吾獨尊。作麼生說箇未出母胎、度人已畢J32nB273_p0213a06底道理?不是心、不是佛、不是物,是箇甚麼?末上謂迦J32nB273_p0213a07葉云:『吾有正法眼藏、涅般妙心分付於汝,汝當流布,J32nB273_p0213a08無令斷絕。』不是心、不是佛、不是物,是箇甚麼?自是一J32nB273_p0213a09犬吠虛,千猱啀實。阿難便問迦葉云:『世尊傳金襴外,J32nB273_p0213a10別傳何物?』好樣不相學。迦葉召阿難,阿難應諾。自是J32nB273_p0213a11一條箸。迦葉云:『倒卻門前剎竿著。』費力不少。至于西J32nB273_p0213a12天四七,東土二三,遞相出興,千變萬化,只宗這一句J32nB273_p0213a13子,只扶豎這一句子,只顯示這一句子而已。豈不見J32nB273_p0213a14南獄讓和尚得這一句子於六祖大師,便云:『說似一J32nB273_p0213a15物則不中,修證則不無,染污則不可。』祖云:『只此不染J32nB273_p0213a16污,是諸佛之護念。汝既如是,吾亦如是。』」師云:「好箇東J32nB273_p0213a17瓜印子,搭著搭不著,未免遞相鈍置。馬大師得這一J32nB273_p0213a18句子於南嶽,便云:『自從胡亂後,三十年不少鹽醬。』破J32nB273_p0213a19驢脊上足蒼蠅。因僧問:『離四句,絕百非,請師直指西J32nB273_p0213a20來意。』祖云:『我今日勞倦,不能與汝說,問取智藏去。』僧J32nB273_p0213a21問藏,藏云:『我今日頭疼,不能與汝說,問取海兄去。』僧J32nB273_p0213a22問海,海云:『我到這裡卻不會。』僧回舉似祖,祖云:『藏頭J32nB273_p0213a23白,海頭黑。』」師云:「離四句,絕百非,馬駒踏殺天下人,元J32nB273_p0213a24來答者話不得。非父不生其子,一箇頭疼,一箇不會。J32nB273_p0213a25藏頭白,海頭黑,也是賊過後張弓。百丈和尚得這一J32nB273_p0213a26句子於馬祖,因再參侍立次,祖以目視繩床角拂子,J32nB273_p0213a27丈云:『即此用?離此用?』祖云:『你後開兩片皮,將何為人?』J32nB273_p0213a28丈取拂子豎起,祖云:『即此用?離此用?』丈掛拂子於舊J32nB273_p0213a29處,祖震威一喝,丈大悟,直得三日耳聾。」師云:「大眾!百J32nB273_p0213a30丈是喝前悟?喝後悟?悟前聾?悟後聾?定當得出,即此J32nB273_p0213b01用,離此用;定當不出,莫看繩床角頭,且看老僧手裏J32nB273_p0213b02底,得與麼搖搖曳曳,無風荷葉動,決定有魚行。黃蘗J32nB273_p0213b03運和尚得這一句子於百丈,一日示眾云:『汝等諸人J32nB273_p0213b04盡是噇酒糟漢,與麼行腳何處有?今日還知大唐國J32nB273_p0213b05裡無禪師麼?』有僧出云:『只如諸方匡徒領眾又且如J32nB273_p0213b06何?』蘗云:『不道無禪,只是無師。』」師云:「黃蘗只知大唐國J32nB273_p0213b07裡無禪師,不知我如今大元國裡箇箇是禪師?是講J32nB273_p0213b08師?律師?有般漢便道:『與匡徒領眾者何異?』只向道:『不J32nB273_p0213b09道無師,只是無禪。』臨濟大師得這一句子於黃蘗,示J32nB273_p0213b10眾云:『我於先師處喫六十棒,如蒿枝拂相似,如今再J32nB273_p0213b11思一頓喫,不知誰為下手?』有僧出云:『某甲下手。』濟度J32nB273_p0213b12棒與之,僧擬接,濟便打。」師云:「好笑你自心中急,他人J32nB273_p0213b13未肯忙。若是箇漢,當時便與掀倒禪床,攔胸一踏,拄J32nB273_p0213b14杖子只得兩手分付。不見道:『老鼠養兒沿屋棟,龍生J32nB273_p0213b15龍兮鳳生鳳。』興化獎和尚得這一句子於臨濟,於大J32nB273_p0213b16覺棒頭悟得先師在黃蘗處喫棒底意旨,乃示眾云:J32nB273_p0213b17『今日不用如何若何,便請單刀直入,興化為汝證據。』J32nB273_p0213b18時有旻德長老拜起便喝,化亦喝,德又喝,化又喝,德J32nB273_p0213b19禮拜歸眾,化云:『若是別人,三十棒一棒也較不得。何J32nB273_p0213b20故?為他旻德會一喝不作一喝用。』」師云:「陣雲動地而J32nB273_p0213b21來,雪刃挨身而入,鐵旗鐵鼓未為好手,全殺全活方J32nB273_p0213b22見作家,較他登九龍御輦而被烹、失千里烏騅而自J32nB273_p0213b23刎者蓋相萬萬,劍戟盡為農器用,馬牛歸放華山陽。J32nB273_p0213b24何以見得?王登寶殿,野老謳歌。南院顒和尚得這一J32nB273_p0213b25句子於興化,因僧問:『赤肉團上壁立千仞,豈不是和J32nB273_p0213b26尚語?』院云:『是。』僧便掀倒禪床。院云:『看這瞎漢亂做。』僧J32nB273_p0213b27擬議,院便打。」師云:「手裏棒折那。如師子,捉象亦全其J32nB273_p0213b28力,捉兔亦全其力。又僧問:『從上諸聖向甚處去?』院云:J32nB273_p0213b29『不上天堂便入地獄。』僧云:『和尚聻?』院云:『還知寶應老J32nB273_p0213b30漢落處麼?』僧擬議,院以拂子打云:『令合是汝行。』又打J32nB273_p0213c01一拂子。後來雪竇道:『令既自行,且拂子不知來處。』雪J32nB273_p0213c02竇道箇瞎,且又雪上加霜。大慧云:『權衡臨濟,三玄三J32nB273_p0213c03要,還他南院始得。雪竇為甚道拂子不知來處?妙喜J32nB273_p0213c04道箇瞎,且要兩得相見。』」師云:「雪竇扶弱,大慧扶強。無J32nB273_p0213c05明也只道個瞎,且要瞎一切人眼。何謂不上天堂便J32nB273_p0213c06入地獄?風穴沼和尚得這一句子於南院,上堂有云:J32nB273_p0213c07『若立一塵,家國興盛,野老嚬蹙;不立一塵,家國喪亡,J32nB273_p0213c08野老安貼。於此明得,闍黎無分,全是老僧;於此不明,J32nB273_p0213c09老僧即是闍黎。闍黎與老僧亦能悟卻天下人,亦能J32nB273_p0213c10迷卻天下人。要識闍黎麼?』左邊拍云:『這裏是。要識老J32nB273_p0213c11僧麼?』右邊拍云:『這裡是。』」師云:「無明則不然。若立一塵,J32nB273_p0213c12君君臣臣,父父子子;不立一塵,此間無老僧,目前無J32nB273_p0213c13闍黎,雨順風調,河清海晏。於此明得,古佛與露柱交J32nB273_p0213c14參,占波共新羅鬥額;於此不明,眼裏著得百億須彌J32nB273_p0213c15山,耳裏著得百億香水海。首山念和尚得這一句於J32nB273_p0213c16風穴,拈竹篦云:『汝諸人喚作竹篦則觸,不喚作竹篦J32nB273_p0213c17則背,且道喚作甚麼?』時葉縣省和尚在座下,便近前J32nB273_p0213c18製得,拗作兩橛,擲下云:『是甚麼?』山云:『瞎。』縣便禮拜。」師J32nB273_p0213c19云:「一挨一拶,一縱一奪,宗門中謂之爪牙,亦謂之巴J32nB273_p0213c20鼻,豈盲龜跛驢之事?二尊宿,一人高高山頂立不露J32nB273_p0213c21頂,一人深深海底行不濕腳,拗竹篦作兩橛且置,首J32nB273_p0213c22山道箇瞎,意作麼生?只許老胡知,不許老胡會。汾陽J32nB273_p0213c23昭和尚得這一句子於首山,示眾云:『識得拄杖子,行J32nB273_p0213c24腳事畢。』」師乃豎起拂子云:「識得無明拂子,更買草鞋J32nB273_p0213c25行腳三十年。慈明和尚得這一句子於汾陽,向方丈J32nB273_p0213c26內安一盆水,上置一口劍,下置草鞋,膝上橫按拄杖,J32nB273_p0213c27有人入門便指,擬議便打,應庵云:『我當時若見,便去J32nB273_p0213c28左耳邊低聲下一轉語,待他貪觀天上,卻與一指擬J32nB273_p0213c29議,把劍便斬。』」師云:「轉見淆訛,不妨疑著。應庵老人耳J32nB273_p0213c30邊下一轉語,知他說箇甚麼?我當時若見,把劍便斬。J32nB273_p0214a01因甚如此?鷸蚌相持,俱落漁人之手。楊岐會和尚得J32nB273_p0214a02這一句子於慈明,僧問:『如何是佛?』岐云:『三腳驢子美J32nB273_p0214a03蹄行。』」師云:「住院屋壁疏,滿床堆雪珠,踢出金圈栗棘,J32nB273_p0214a04嚇倒百丈野狐。三腳驢,三腳驢,差異畜生天下無。白J32nB273_p0214a05雲端和尚得這一句子於楊岐,因僧問:『一喝分賓主,J32nB273_p0214a06照用一時行,去此二途,請師別道。』雲便喝,僧云:『從來J32nB273_p0214a07疑著和尚。』雲便打,僧云:『作家宗師。』雲云:『也不消得。』僧J32nB273_p0214a08禮拜。」師云:「眾中一喝多有商量,喝牛便行,喝馬便住,J32nB273_p0214a09喝人惡發,喝佛慈悲。這僧道:『從來疑著和尚。』是肯語?J32nB273_p0214a10是不肯語?白雲便打,是賞伊?是罰伊?選佛若無如是J32nB273_p0214a11眼,假饒千載亦奚為?五祖演和尚得這一句子於白J32nB273_p0214a12雲,結夏示眾云:『無可管顧諸人,今日作一家讌。』遂抬J32nB273_p0214a13手云:『囉囉招,囉囉搖,囉囉送,莫怪空疏,伏惟珍重。』」師J32nB273_p0214a14云:「一箇鐵酸餡,百味具足,知他祭了多少閒神野鬼,J32nB273_p0214a15直饒一咬百雜碎,到這裏急須吐卻。佛果勤和尚得J32nB273_p0214a16這一句子於五祖,因僧問:『一大藏教阿那箇是頭?』果J32nB273_p0214a17云:『如是我聞。』僧云:『此是阿難底,如何是和尚底?』果云:J32nB273_p0214a18『我使得甚快。』」師云:「只欠作云何梵在。虎丘隆祖得這J32nB273_p0214a19一句子於佛果,果室中問祖云:『見見之時,見非是見,J32nB273_p0214a20見猶離見,見不能及。』舉拳示之云:『見麼?』祖云:『見。』果云:J32nB273_p0214a21『頭上安頭。』祖於是悟入,便禮拜,果云:『見箇甚麼?』祖云:J32nB273_p0214a22『竹密不妨流水過。』」師云:「象王回旋,師子返擲,不用纖J32nB273_p0214a23毫氣力,不留些子痕跡。是則是,父子投機,啐啄同時,J32nB273_p0214a24只恐學語之流不作平實會,便作活脫會。畢竟如何?J32nB273_p0214a25識取鉤頭意,莫認定盤星。」又示眾云:「凡有展托,盡落J32nB273_p0214a26今時;不展不托,墮坑落塹。直饒風吹不入、水灑不著,J32nB273_p0214a27檢點將來,自救不了。不見道:『寒潭目影,靜夜鐘聲,隨J32nB273_p0214a28扣擊以無虧,觸波瀾而不散,猶是生死岸頭事。』」拈拄J32nB273_p0214a29杖云:「劃一劃,劃斷生法師多年葛藤,點頭石不覺撫J32nB273_p0214a30掌大笑。且道笑箇甚麼?腦後見腮,莫與往來。」師亦呵J32nB273_p0214b01呵笑云:「笑須三十年,三三九十年。且道笑箇甚麼?笑J32nB273_p0214b02你腦後見腮。應庵和尚得這一句子於隆祖,據室云:J32nB273_p0214b03『現成公案,坐斷淆訛。錯下註腳,槌折你腰。撩起便行,J32nB273_p0214b04必死之疾。要須英俊,別有生涯。忽遇衝雲俊鶻來時J32nB273_p0214b05如何?漫天網子百千重。』」師云:「驅耕奪食手段,羅龍打J32nB273_p0214b06鳳門庭。漫天網子百千重,這老兒已是通身泥水。衝J32nB273_p0214b07雲俊鶻走向甚處去也?不消一拶,去死十分。密庵和J32nB273_p0214b08尚得這一句子於應庵,應庵室中問云:『如何是正法J32nB273_p0214b09眼?』密云:『破沙盆。』」師云:「僧問雲門:『如何是正法眼?』門云:J32nB273_p0214b10『普。』擊床左邊云:『過這邊著。』僧問風穴:『如何是正法眼?』J32nB273_p0214b11穴云:『瞎。』擊床右邊云:『過這邊著。』復打一圓相云:『破沙J32nB273_p0214b12盆,吞乾坤,七華八裂,渾渾淪淪。颺在拉圾堆頭,千金J32nB273_p0214b13難買;擎在諸佛掌內,不直分文。打鐘打鼓普請看,盛J32nB273_p0214b14羹盛飯養兒孫。』好大哥!破庵和尚得這一句子於密J32nB273_p0214b15庵,上堂有云:『不是心,不是佛,不是物,忍俊不禁,為諸J32nB273_p0214b16人作箇撇脫。』拄杖卓一下云:『流水暗消溪畔石,勸人J32nB273_p0214b17除卻是非難。』」師云:「雲浮世間,無根得活;火燒海底,有J32nB273_p0214b18種皆萌。不與凡聖同纏,東土來作甚麼?不與萬法為J32nB273_p0214b19侶,西江吸盡何為?既無彼此之分,寧有古今之異?塵J32nB273_p0214b20塵爾,剎剎爾,樅樅然,靈靈然,若作佛法商量,未免披J32nB273_p0214b21毛戴角;若作世諦流布,依舊前三後三。所以道:『流水J32nB273_p0214b22暗消溪畔石,勸人除卻是非難。難!難!蟭螟搖撼萬重J32nB273_p0214b23山。』無準和尚得這一句子於破庵,有時上堂云:『名不J32nB273_p0214b24得,狀不得,取不得,捨不得,只麼得。且道得箇甚麼?三J32nB273_p0214b25人證龜成鱉。』」師云:「二從一有,一亦莫守。既是名不得、J32nB273_p0214b26狀不得,為甚證龜成鱉?咄!殺人刀,活人劍。雪巖和尚J32nB273_p0214b27得這一句子於無準,尋常只把這一句賣。美外集中J32nB273_p0214b28有送人偈云:『現成句子輕拈出,不落平平仄仄中。只J32nB273_p0214b29恐累君行李重,預先題在石屏風。』」師云:「我當時若在J32nB273_p0214b30座下,但云:『集雲峰下,四條藤巴落,平平仄仄,仄仄平J32nB273_p0214c01平。況是槌鐘擊鼓,鵲噪鴉鳴,森羅萬象,水綠山青,未J32nB273_p0214c02開口,未動念,文彩全彰,五音迭奏,直得觸目無滯,達J32nB273_p0214c03得名身句子一切法空。山河大地是身,身亦不可得,J32nB273_p0214c04喚作三昧,性海俱備,猶是無風匝匝之波,更須知有J32nB273_p0214c05向上一竅。』又寄竹篦與高峰老祖,偈云:『上大今已無J32nB273_p0214c06人,雪巖可知禮也。一條黑漆竹篦,分付原妙侍者。』」師J32nB273_p0214c07云:「分付莫錯麼?錯則不名仰山,不錯則天目山在萬J32nB273_p0214c08山之頂。高峰老祖得這一句子於仰山,嘗云:『不識巖J32nB273_p0214c09頭密啟處,剛言悟得仰山禪。』」師云:「大妄語成,入無間J32nB273_p0214c10獄。密啟處既不識,仰山禪如何悟?又有真贊示幻住J32nB273_p0214c11和尚云:『我相不思議,佛眼莫能視。獨許不肖兒,得我J32nB273_p0214c12半邊鼻。』」師云:「垂鉤四海,只釣獰龍。智過於師,方堪傳J32nB273_p0214c13授。且道傳授箇甚麼?打失半邊鼻,換得一隻眼。幻住J32nB273_p0214c14和尚得這一句子於高峰老祖。示眾,舉:『大梅問馬祖:J32nB273_p0214c15「如何是佛?」祖云:「即心是佛。」』常公聞是語,當下如十日J32nB273_p0214c16並照,情雲識霧,應念廓清,直往大梅山,一任非心非J32nB273_p0214c17佛。」師云:「無明在眾時,有般兄弟聚頭喧喧妄議云:『中J32nB273_p0214c18峰和尚只說得心性禪、義理禪、拖泥帶水老婆禪,與J32nB273_p0214c19他打在大梅、大珠、永明、明教、慈受隊裡去。』唯古林和J32nB273_p0214c20尚序一花五葉之書,則云:『闢義學之見封,發正宗之J32nB273_p0214c21玄閟,其言富,其理妙,非離文字言說、捨名相筌蹄、斷J32nB273_p0214c22葛藤露布、碎聖凡窠臼者,未易窺其彷彿。』虛谷和尚J32nB273_p0214c23則云:『中峰禪師徹法源底,廓同太虛,百千無量玅義J32nB273_p0214c24皆從性海中滔滔流出,自然超宗越格,破胎息妄傳,J32nB273_p0214c25正合圓悟祖師意。闢義解流謂從《信心銘》起,亦古人J32nB273_p0214c26未論至此。』」師云:「三段不同,收歸上科。又於《信心銘》中J32nB273_p0214c27舉到得失是非一時放卻處,闢云:『咄!說有可放,也合J32nB273_p0214c28喫棒;說無可放,也合喫棒。何故?則為伊脫得失是非J32nB273_p0214c29未得在。』」師云:「三祖大師非老幻住,與麼發明,幾乎一J32nB273_p0214c30生受屈。」驀拈拄杖,云:「這箇喚作拄杖子,便不是一句J32nB273_p0215a01子;若喚作一句子,便不是拄杖子。纔有所是,便有所J32nB273_p0215a02非;纔有所得,便有所失。得失是非既免不得,這一句J32nB273_p0215a03子如何免得?」以拄杖劃一劃,云:「三世諸佛、歷代祖師、J32nB273_p0215a04天下老和尚,總貶向無生國裡去也。即今莫有傍不J32nB273_p0215a05甘底出來,把老僧拖下禪床,爛椎一頓,與這一隊老J32nB273_p0215a06漢出一口氣,不妨做渠直下兒孫。如有,與無明相見;J32nB273_p0215a07如無,無明倒行此令去也。」乃喝一喝,拈拄杖,下座,一J32nB273_p0215a08時趁散大眾。

J32nB273_p0215b03參禪人做工夫無別事,只要知箇本命元辰下落處,J32nB273_p0215b04知得自己,辨得他人,山河大地,世出世間,一一盡知J32nB273_p0215b05下落,瞞你一星子不得,喚作智眼洞明,心行處滅,然J32nB273_p0215b06後回身轉步,建大法幢,現出三頭六臂,七縱八橫,拈J32nB273_p0215b07一莖草作丈六金身,拈丈六金身作一莖草用,殺得J32nB273_p0215b08人,活得人,金剛王寶劍寒凜凜地,喚作臨濟下兒孫,J32nB273_p0215b09不為分外。若但名字出家,名字行腳,不信好人說,不J32nB273_p0215b10知祖師巴鼻,不到諸佛田地,不做真實工夫,一法不J32nB273_p0215b11明,目前萬法悉不明了,光陰迅速,空然白首,眼光落J32nB273_p0215b12地時,將甚麼子敵他生死?瑛上人!可畏可畏,快須打J32nB273_p0215b13併從前業識,歇去許多打之遶,著些精彩,提箇萬法J32nB273_p0215b14歸一,一歸何處話,忽然一踏踏著,一覷覷破,元來青J32nB273_p0215b15州布衫,便是川藞苴底屎布裙。
示月禪人
J32nB273_p0215b17人人盡有這箇月,幾回圓兮幾回缺。明時暗相在其J32nB273_p0215b18中,暗時明相何曾滅。看他蟾桂影婆娑,直透碧潭光J32nB273_p0215b19皎潔。正好供養與修行,不出如今底時節。濠州滿月J32nB273_p0215b20上人,信有我宗見性成佛之旨,春間到茅庵請益,參J32nB273_p0215b21箇話頭,決要今生悟得自己分上灼然有這一段了J32nB273_p0215b22生達死底大事因緣。老僧向他道:「我底說話恰如一J32nB273_p0215b23箇指頭子相似,為你要見天上月,所以指箇水中月J32nB273_p0215b24影子,示汝頭上自有箇真月也。」釋迦老子也與麼道:J32nB273_p0215b25「我說修多羅教,如標月指。當觀月輪,莫觀吾指。」你如J32nB273_p0215b26今若只愛我言語,便是看我底指頭,要且不知月在J32nB273_p0215b27甚麼處。你要識真月麼?只你問我話底是,只你舉話J32nB273_p0215b28頭底是,只你未舉話頭時來問我底是。但與麼回光J32nB273_p0215b29返照去,忽然與所參話頭無二無別,方信通身是一J32nB273_p0215b30輪清淨寶月,圓滿無缺,晝夜放八萬四千圓滿淨光,J32nB273_p0215c01照天照地。盤山云:「心月孤圓,光吞萬象。光非照境,境J32nB273_p0215c02亦非存。光境雙忘,復是何物?」洞山云:「光境未忘,復是J32nB273_p0215c03何物?」老僧云:「光境不忘,復是何物?」你且道三箇老漢J32nB273_p0215c04那箇堪為汝師?須具眼始得。
示賑上人
J32nB273_p0215c06海東賑上人,為清拙和尚侍者。自謂不能盡其師之J32nB273_p0215c07道,焚舟西登海岸,首禮請徑山諸大老。復探水於伏J32nB273_p0215c08龍山頂,兩呈偈語,且有自遠趨風之辭。予不之答,又J32nB273_p0215c09乞一言,而為洞徹向上的的相承底一段大事。不得J32nB273_p0215c10已而謂之曰:「汝還知大唐國裏無禪師麼?汝師為天J32nB273_p0215c11下之師,何謂無師?汝師傳我佛我祖不傳之道,何謂J32nB273_p0215c12無道?決欲盡師之道,求之於人,不若求之於己。直下J32nB273_p0215c13休去歇去,一念萬年,千萬里無寸草處去,古廟裏香J32nB273_p0215c14爐去。到大歇大休田地,返觀從前學得底,記得底,說J32nB273_p0215c15得底,做得底,總是聰明知解,人我業識,生死根本。到J32nB273_p0215c16這裏,身心廓如太虛,覓佛祖禪道了不可得。覓人我J32nB273_p0215c17業識,是非生死,若知解纖毫形相,皆不可得。然後為J32nB273_p0215c18一切人師也。在我,我為法王,於法自在。不見道:智過J32nB273_p0215c19於師,方堪傳授。只如汝師說底,與無明同耶,不同耶?J32nB273_p0215c20若道同,又要問無明作麼?若道不同,佛法豈有兩般?直須如箇戴角蛇,插翅虎,破鏡鳥,啗母,不是差事。」
示嵩上人
J32nB273_p0215c22赤梢鯉魚橫海而來,動便波濤洶湧,雷電喧轟,風雲J32nB273_p0215c23四起,籠罩不肯住,呼喚不回頭,所謂漫天鐵網透過J32nB273_p0215c24不難,一竅穿通玲瓏八面,及乎撞著一枚臭虀罋子、J32nB273_p0215c25牛腳跡水,因甚向裏面淹殺,喪卻一條窮性命?喝。當J32nB273_p0215c26時若下得這一喝,死得天下人、活得天下人,不惟與J32nB273_p0215c27臨濟出得一口氣,從上老凍膿一任吞吐。日本嵩上J32nB273_p0215c28人,清拙老人入室之子,今冬山中道聚標此紙云:「大J32nB273_p0215c29唐音響未能通,雖聽法雷如耳聾。」末後云:「須彌為筆J32nB273_p0215c30寫虛空。」果能耳聾不通音響,則不繆為清拙之子,又J32nB273_p0216a01何待無明操須彌筆寫出許多不材不淨,恣意啗咂J32nB273_p0216a02而墮於埜狐群隊,無箇出頭時節?所以先聖云:「如今J32nB273_p0216a03有一等不識好惡禿奴,向教乘中取意度商量,成於J32nB273_p0216a04義句,如將屎塊子自口含了,卻吐與人。」又云:「我被先J32nB273_p0216a05師一喝,直得三日耳聾。」雖然,我也無量罪過,汝也無J32nB273_p0216a06量罪過。
示濟禪人
J32nB273_p0216a08參禪人須參活句,莫參死句。何謂活句?只如僧問趙J32nB273_p0216a09州:「狗子還有佛性也無?」州云:「無。」又問:「一切眾生皆有J32nB273_p0216a10佛性,因甚狗子無佛性?」州云:「他有業識在。」這便是活J32nB273_p0216a11句。這僧向活句上問,趙州又向活句上答。你如今要J32nB273_p0216a12這一則公案分曉,只就每日每夜業識紛飛處看。業識與J32nB273_p0216a13麼紛飛,如何是無業識田地?佛性現成,如何得見佛J32nB273_p0216a14性與佛祖一般?如人學射,久久方中,所謂得之於心,J32nB273_p0216a15應之於手。卻不可滯在有上,滯在有上便同眾生;又J32nB273_p0216a16不可滯在無上,教中謂之相違;又不可滯在非有非J32nB273_p0216a17無上,教中謂之戲論。總不落階級,不涉廉纖,著著有J32nB273_p0216a18出身之路,始到得活句邊,猶未取得老趙州性命在。J32nB273_p0216a19且道老趙州性命作麼生取?不見五祖演和尚云:「趙J32nB273_p0216a20州露刃劍,寒霜光焰焰,更擬問如何,分身作兩段。」你J32nB273_p0216a21且道是死句?是活句?參。
示潤禪人
J32nB273_p0216a23去年與予同棲嚴穴,卓卓然以此事為務,不與群兒J32nB273_p0216a24伍,決欲了這一場公案。問他:「今日工夫如何?」不答。又J32nB273_p0216a25問他:「父母未生前,甚麼處與老僧同住來?」或豎拳,或J32nB273_p0216a26一笑,或不語,掉臂便行。一日,老僧同石門和尚在火J32nB273_p0216a27爐頭閑坐,見他來問訊,便問他:「不去僧堂裏做工夫,J32nB273_p0216a28來這裏做甚麼?」借石門癢和子連打數下,他微微而J32nB273_p0216a29笑,無些子怒色。彼時貴無用在嘉禾,一日請假去相J32nB273_p0216a30訪,一別十餘箇月日,每每寄果物來,老僧深喜之。不J32nB273_p0216b01是喜他遠寄物來,然喜怒人之常情,只如父母未生J32nB273_p0216b02以前,身已尚無,喜怒從甚處安著?你若道即今底便J32nB273_p0216b03是未生前底,未生前底便是死了燒了底,正是顢頇J32nB273_p0216b04佛性,儱侗真如,直須劍刃上翻身,缽盂中走馬始得。J32nB273_p0216b05不見古人道:「懸崖撒手,自肯承當;絕後再甦,欺君不J32nB273_p0216b06得。」這一著子不是小可事,是無大得大一件大事,所J32nB273_p0216b07謂生死事大,無常迅速,今日不了,萬劫餘殃。上人決J32nB273_p0216b08要了此事時歸來,一日與汝三百下癢和子,休怪。
示悟侍者
J32nB273_p0216b10先聖云:「悟是第二頭。」又有云:「須妙悟始得。」又有云:「悟J32nB273_p0216b11後須遇人始得。」參禪參便了,又要遇人作甚麼?殊不J32nB273_p0216b12知涅槃心易曉,差別智難明。只如每日肚裏須喫飯J32nB273_p0216b13方飽,你喫飯還療得我饑麼?眼裏觀色,山不可喚作J32nB273_p0216b14水;耳裏聞聲,聲生聲滅,於耳有干涉無?若云有干涉,J32nB273_p0216b15則墮戲論;若云無干涉,則墮相違。直須離四句、絕百J32nB273_p0216b16非,入得一切、透得一切,猶是教乘邊事,未是衲僧本J32nB273_p0216b17分事。莫聲是佛聲、色是佛色,是麼?莫未上船時已喫J32nB273_p0216b18三十棒,是麼?若恁麼商量,要見無明,且居門外。總不J32nB273_p0216b19與麼,畢竟如何?有眼如盲,有口如啞。日本悟侍者謂J32nB273_p0216b20鄉音不辨,特此乞形紙墨以疏其意,不審侍者是悟J32nB273_p0216b21了問、悟前問、不前不後問?老僧答汝了也,併卻咽喉J32nB273_p0216b22唇吻,致將一問來。
示懋禪人
J32nB273_p0216b24諸佛出世,祖師西來,不過與人做箇證明底而已。且J32nB273_p0216b25證明箇甚麼?懋禪人今夏道聚山中,秋歸受業方回,J32nB273_p0216b26乃出紙覓長語,警策做工夫,要透脫生死。此事你須J32nB273_p0216b27自下手腳,直做到直截不疑之地,方能透得生死,方J32nB273_p0216b28見諸佛諸祖心髓,方知老僧屋裏底事。所謂啐地折,J32nB273_p0216b29嚗地斷,絕後再甦,頂門眼活,一口金剛寶劍,亙古亙J32nB273_p0216b30今,擒縱在我,不由別人,真大自在、大解脫、大丈夫也。J32nB273_p0216c01若不與麼,隨群逐隊,今日三,明日四,未曾得箇念頭J32nB273_p0216c02暫時停息,如一鍋沸湯相似,自也下手腳不得,教別J32nB273_p0216c03人如何下得手腳?煎得乾,無滴水,卻是箇好底時節。J32nB273_p0216c04恐你又不肯信,卻又去別處尋水來攙,轉見郎當,正J32nB273_p0216c05是半前不後底溫湯,將來何用?如今決欲了此事,緊J32nB273_p0216c06咬齒關,硬著脊骨,把趙州狗子無佛性話一提提將J32nB273_p0216c07去,生死心絕,語言道斷,㘞地一聲,不待老僧與汝證J32nB273_p0216c08明,汝自知之。
示壽禪人
J32nB273_p0216c10德壽禪人久於山中相聚,晝則作一切務,夜則消息J32nB273_p0216c11不眠,蓋圖出生死大苦海,到佛祖安樂田地也。果欲J32nB273_p0216c12到佛祖田地,須悟萬法歸一、一歸何處話,與父母未J32nB273_p0216c13生前話,狗子無佛性話,不是心、不是佛、不是物話,無J32nB273_p0216c14絲毫疑滯,無些子差錯,盡平生力量一味捱將去,捱J32nB273_p0216c15到露布極、伎倆盡、命根斷,便是到佛祖田地也。雖然,J32nB273_p0216c16更須知有臨濟三頓痛棒底道理。且道無明門下又J32nB273_p0216c17作麼生?咄!且待別時來。
示成禪人
J32nB273_p0216c19德成禪人四年在山中結緣,去年化僧堂席,今年又J32nB273_p0216c20化僧堂帳,眾僧坐臥食息於其中,無有一人不仰仰J32nB273_p0216c21羡羡。你結緣種德則不無,只如萬法歸一,一歸何處J32nB273_p0216c22話?且道與你途中生生受受,登檀施門,有逆有順,即J32nB273_p0216c23今歸到山中,與眾人眉毛廝結,鼻孔相拄,至於著衣J32nB273_p0216c24喫飯,屙屎送尿,或語或默,或忙或閑,同耶?不同耶?若J32nB273_p0216c25道同,趙州為甚道我在青州做一領布衫重七斤?若J32nB273_p0216c26道不同,眾人盡見你化席化帳。雖然,你更化一領漫J32nB273_p0216c27天帳、一領無縫席與老僧,方答汝話。有者便道:「和尚J32nB273_p0216c28滿口道了,滿幅寫了。又道未答話在。」咄!不見道:「成家J32nB273_p0216c29容易破家難。」南泉云:「我十八上便解作活計。」趙州云:J32nB273_p0216c30「我十八上便解破家散宅。」神仙妙訣,父子不傳。
示顯侍者
J32nB273_p0217a02汝欲遊方禮祖師,徒勞走得腳生胝。要須坐斷毘盧J32nB273_p0217a03頂,一任小慈妨大慈。慈顯上人,叢林英俊之流,乃乞J32nB273_p0217a04語參方禮祖,扣問父母未生前一段奇特大事,所以J32nB273_p0217a05云:「要須坐斷毘盧頂。」至如文殊、普賢、釋迦、彌勒、臨濟、J32nB273_p0217a06德山,是甚破草鞋?要用便用,要置便置。我為法王,於J32nB273_p0217a07法自在。雖然,你須是到這般田地,有這般作略,是這J32nB273_p0217a08般種草,具這般眼目,得這般機用方可,這般底卻不J32nB273_p0217a09可學。如今人撥無因果,步步行有,口口談空,造地獄J32nB273_p0217a10業,臘月三十日到來,一場敗闕,卻怪無明不得。何故?J32nB273_p0217a11佛法無多子,久長難得人。勉之!
示朱德珪居士
J32nB273_p0217a13萬法歸一,一歸何處?這八箇字子,是天目高峰老祖J32nB273_p0217a14自證自悟之後,又將這八箇字子教四海學者,各各J32nB273_p0217a15令其自證自悟。當自證自悟處,卻不可作自證自悟J32nB273_p0217a16之見,又不可滯在無證無悟處。如今多有人不肯信J32nB273_p0217a17他,只為不曾做這般真實工夫,所以不能到他田地。J32nB273_p0217a18雖曰參學,往往於萬法上得些入頭處,於一法上又J32nB273_p0217a19打失了;於一法上得些入頭處,於萬法上又打失了,J32nB273_p0217a20所以不能如我祖師到證悟處。所謂毫釐有差,天地J32nB273_p0217a21懸隔。松江信士朱德珪,雖居塵俗之中,而知有出塵J32nB273_p0217a22拔俗一著子。日用十二時中,參箇萬法歸一,一歸何J32nB273_p0217a23處話,自證自悟則未可相許。然根本既正,枝葉自不J32nB273_p0217a24生,更須著精彩,徹底信自心是一法。心生則種種法J32nB273_p0217a25生,心滅則種種法滅,生滅既滅,則寂滅之相現前,寂J32nB273_p0217a26滅相現前之時,亦不起現前之見。正與麼時,一法萬J32nB273_p0217a27法瞞你不得,豈不是塵俗中自證自悟底大丈夫也?

示圭講主
J32nB273_p0217b11懷州牛喫禾,益州馬腹脹,天下覓醫人,炙豬左膊上。J32nB273_p0217b12此箇頌流落叢林,往往作佛法商量,蹉過杜順和尚。J32nB273_p0217b13無明也有箇頌,且於佛法全無交涉,云:「天子手中曰J32nB273_p0217b14圭,諸侯手中曰笏,宗師手中喚作甚麼?喚作岡中玉,J32nB273_p0217b15雖得一場榮,刖卻一雙足;不喚作岡中玉,鐵作面皮J32nB273_p0217b16金作骨,眉毛落盡不留莖,鼻孔依前高突兀。」華嚴教J32nB273_p0217b17寺玉岡講主與無明雖未識面,已嘗於贈宋雪山偈J32nB273_p0217b18中得其蘊矣,知其是箇中人。若不是箇中人,如何肯J32nB273_p0217b19信無明,遠遠寄香及此紙,乞疏教外別傳之旨。然而J32nB273_p0217b20教外無禪,禪外無教,非離言教而別有所傳,謂迥異J32nB273_p0217b21言教,傳不可傳之至玅耳。至於至玅處,說也說不得,J32nB273_p0217b22如何傳授得?須當人親證親悟始得。清涼云:「說悟則J32nB273_p0217b23不可示人,說理則非證不了。且證悟之理,亦是對未J32nB273_p0217b24悟者權立箇方便,不作方便,亦無漸次,方到得事事J32nB273_p0217b25無礙。法界如盛宗,三大四法界,總一經大綱,如綱目J32nB273_p0217b26自張,故能行布圓融。醍醐毒藥,箇是玉岡尋常布施J32nB273_p0217b27人底,不可擔水河頭賣也。」且道吾臨濟三玄、三要、四J32nB273_p0217b28料揀、一喝入五教之旨,與三大四法界、一部大經之J32nB273_p0217b29旨,同耶?異耶?異若異於同,全非諸佛意,男子身中入J32nB273_p0217b30定時,女子身中不留意。不留意,法法明明無理事。信J32nB273_p0217c01哉!
示周禪人
J32nB273_p0217c03古來行腳高士,動經千里萬里,涉艱履險,不懼危亡J32nB273_p0217c04得失,遇真正宗匠才放包。至于出一叢林、入一保社,J32nB273_p0217c05必欲洞明己躬,下一著子,徹頭徹底無絲毫過患、無J32nB273_p0217c06絲毫走作,然後一一決擇明白,要且不在明白處坐J32nB273_p0217c07地拈出來,得人憎、得人怕,見他眼目定動底便與一J32nB273_p0217c08拶,倘不識痛癢,復示一言半句,兩眼對兩眼底不可J32nB273_p0217c09放過,十年二十年相處如一日相似,知其不是箇中J32nB273_p0217c10人,路上買飯喫,徒而之他,永不要見面。何以故?結朋J32nB273_p0217c11須勝▆,似我不如無。白雲端和尚云:「悟了須遇人始J32nB273_p0217c12得,若不遇人,如箇無尾胡孫美出來,人便笑。」如今諸J32nB273_p0217c13方覓箇參禪底,萬中無一,莫說悟底,更要遇人在,輕J32nB273_p0217c14輕道著他,你未在,便乃面青面赤,嗔心憤憤;讚他好J32nB273_p0217c15箇禪和,便無著歡喜處。且道你好在甚處?這般底打J32nB273_p0217c16殺了千千萬萬箇,為宗門中除害,卻有甚罪過?你須J32nB273_p0217c17看前輩樣子,具驗人眼目,蘊成佛作祖底氣概,奮這J32nB273_p0217c18般作略,便從這裏做將去,一一從胸襟流出來,蓋天J32nB273_p0217c19蓋地,明取古人語去,即心即佛、非心非佛且置不問,J32nB273_p0217c20不是心、不是佛、不是物是甚麼?咄!更是箇甚麼?
示涇禪人
J32nB273_p0217c22涇濁渭清,水性是一,如何有清有濁?不見祖師道:「人J32nB273_p0217c23根有利鈍,道無南北祖。」元涇禪人道聚山中參狗子J32nB273_p0217c24無佛性話,觀其行住坐臥、語默動靜,著著在話頭上,J32nB273_p0217c25著到真本分衲子也。一日,忽請曰:「拜求和尚居山法J32nB273_p0217c26語。」予惡發罵云:「你便不本分也。盡十方世界是箇山,J32nB273_p0217c27盡十方世界是箇無字,何不在無字上討箇分曉?若J32nB273_p0217c28在無字上討得分曉,千七百則公案、三乘十二分教J32nB273_p0217c29是註解無字底閑言語,諸佛諸祖是受無字光影底J32nB273_p0217c30漢。你通身遍身是一箇無字,行也是他,坐也是他,至J32nB273_p0218a01於語默動止、去來生死,覓他了不可得。于不可得處,J32nB273_p0218a02豈不是無字全體?僧問臨濟:『忽遇出格人來,師如何J32nB273_p0218a03接?』濟云:『我便全體作用。』玄沙云:『十方世界是摩訶般J32nB273_p0218a04若光,光未發時尚無佛無眾生名,山河大地、洪纖長J32nB273_p0218a05短、一切形相何處有耶?』上人會麼?會也,跳無字不出;J32nB273_p0218a06不會也,跳無字不出。」你若道:「和尚還跳得出麼?」老僧J32nB273_p0218a07也跳不出。我若跳得,更不打許多葛藤。雖然,你且向J32nB273_p0218a08這葛藤跳看。
示雕佛匠
J32nB273_p0218a10海鹽鄭仁甫為山中大殿,火燄完備,眾目聳觀,以為J32nB273_p0218a11有優填匠氏之作;眾口讚美,以為世之群工不可及J32nB273_p0218a12其精巧矣。仁甫欣然持此卷求予語,以旌其能,以信J32nB273_p0218a13諸方之任用者。予曰:「汝藝精到,不患人之不汝用也。J32nB273_p0218a14予語拙,安能益汝巧耶?」雖然,汝只能雕得丈六色身J32nB273_p0218a15底火燄,不能雕得虛空身底火燄。何故?教中道:「佛身J32nB273_p0218a16充滿於法界」,汝之火燄幾何大?又云:「佛真法身猶若J32nB273_p0218a17虛空」,汝之火燄亦在其中。還能雕得這箇佛身麼?若J32nB273_p0218a18能雕得這箇佛身,便能雕得這箇火燄;若能雕得這J32nB273_p0218a19箇火燄,便能大中現小、小中現大,於一毫端現寶王J32nB273_p0218a20剎,坐微塵裏轉大法輪,三尺旃檀像即是丈六身,丈J32nB273_p0218a21六身即是無量身。祖師云:「火燄與三世諸佛說法,三J32nB273_p0218a22世諸佛立地聽說法。」聽法我不問汝。汝且道:三世諸J32nB273_p0218a23佛即今在甚麼處?你試下手看。下得手,便恁麼雕將J32nB273_p0218a24去、做將去,無有不圓成底時節。畢竟如何?拈來三寸J32nB273_p0218a25鐵,遍界是黃金。
示春講主
J32nB273_p0218a27慧春講主!你既說道不理會得,知不理會得底是誰?J32nB273_p0218a28道不理會得底又是誰?只這便是生死兩重牢關。你J32nB273_p0218a29即今向理會不得處理會得去,生死大事一時了畢;J32nB273_p0218a30若更理會不得,但於一切時一切處,將狗子無佛性J32nB273_p0218b01話參取去。且作如何參?狗子還有佛性也無?一切眾J32nB273_p0218b02生皆有佛性,趙州因甚道無?你若捉得趙州敗,從上J32nB273_p0218b03諸佛諸祖、天下老和尚,總被你一時捉敗。趙州是唐J32nB273_p0218b04時人,過去已許多年,他底面孔是長是短,你還識他J32nB273_p0218b05麼?端的要捉敗他,如捉賊相似,須知他在甚麼處安J32nB273_p0218b06歇,然後下手腳,贓賊分明,不勘自敗。若不見他面孔,J32nB273_p0218b07返被他攪,妙不得靜,辦這一場公案,如何結斷?任你J32nB273_p0218b08講得一大藏教,如何出得趙州一箇無字?一法無,萬J32nB273_p0218b09法皆無,和這無字亦無。正與麼時,上至無量劫,下至J32nB273_p0218b10未來際,總不出這箇時節,自然活鱍鱍地、虛靈靈地,J32nB273_p0218b11便是清淨法身佛,不待靜而自安,不待動而常用,便J32nB273_p0218b12是千百億化身佛,事上建立也得,理上鏟除也得。我J32nB273_p0218b13為法王,於法自在。說一切法,於法無礙,名為講師;立J32nB273_p0218b14一切法,於法無礙,名為律師;空一切法,於法無礙,名J32nB273_p0218b15為禪師。雖然,更須知有法身上毘盧師始得。咄!咄!咄!J32nB273_p0218b16沒處去。這箇說話,莫道你理會不得,便是無明也理J32nB273_p0218b17會不得。何故?你是趙州人,我是淛間人。
示祿禪人
J32nB273_p0218b19你既要了這一件大事,把從前知見解會束作一團,J32nB273_p0218b20拋向他方世界,如臘月扇子相似,永不得拈著,永不J32nB273_p0218b21得顧著,一切放下,便如死人一般、木石一般,只於行J32nB273_p0218b22住坐臥、語默動靜、上床下地、喫粥喫飯、屙屎送尿時,J32nB273_p0218b23單單提箇話頭與之廝捱,捱到極處,不見有佛祖玄J32nB273_p0218b24妙,不見有世界縱橫,不見有話頭可提,不見有提話J32nB273_p0218b25頭者。經云:「見見之時,見非是見,見猶離見,見不能及。」J32nB273_p0218b26正與麼時,也只是工夫純一處,更須保養聖胎,自然J32nB273_p0218b27會回機轉位,如大死人卻活,於頂門上迸出一隻眼,J32nB273_p0218b28方到得無明門下,見得無明面孔是長是短、是闊是J32nB273_p0218b29狹,然後上無星秤子等將來,是幾斤、是幾兩,鎔瓶盤J32nB273_p0218b30釵釧為一塊金亦得,將一塊金為瓶盤釵釧亦得,入J32nB273_p0218c01水入泥、入染入淨、入佛入魔亦得。然亦未可順汝意J32nB273_p0218c02在,須入無明室,朝打三千,暮打八百,打得皮穿骨爛,J32nB273_p0218c03痛不可忍,現出三頭六臂,倒要吞卻無明,那時無明J32nB273_p0218c04性命在汝手裏,要殺要活、要收要放總得,所謂智過J32nB273_p0218c05於師,方堪傳授。此非細事,不可忽。
示首仁大師
J32nB273_p0218c07秘密一宗,顯諸佛不傳之旨,闡上上大乘之教,故能J32nB273_p0218c08入凡入聖,入一切國土而無所入,於諸境界亦無所J32nB273_p0218c09礙。辟如虛空,覓虛空之量了不可得。知虛空空群相J32nB273_p0218c10有,猶有靈知,只成知解宗徒,謂了了常知,欲言之不J32nB273_p0218c11可及,便為要妙。殊不知,知之一字,眾禍之門。直饒離J32nB273_p0218c12文字相,離心緣相,語默不到,動靜兩忘,照用雙遣,人J32nB273_p0218c13境俱奪,猶是法身邊事。雲門云:「法身有三種病,二種J32nB273_p0218c14光。光不透脫,其病轉多。」杜順云:「法身流轉五道,名曰J32nB273_p0218c15眾生。」便是這箇道理。你若打理窟不破,事上便不明。J32nB273_p0218c16事上既不明,諸法皆有滯。諸法既有滯,持咒觀想,皆J32nB273_p0218c17是虛妄生死根本。喚作法身佛得麼?喚作無等等咒J32nB273_p0218c18得麼?喚作大慈悲、大忿怒、大解脫、大自在得麼?且道J32nB273_p0218c19如今作麼生?你但無事於心,無心於事,自然虛而靈,J32nB273_p0218c20寂而妙。若有毫髮許本末言之者,皆為自欺。隨緣著J32nB273_p0218c21衣喫飯,任運快樂無憂,不與凡聖同纏,超然名之曰J32nB273_p0218c22祖。如上說底,即非密也。密在汝邊,已是說了。無明門J32nB273_p0218c23下,須喫棒始得。何故?大事為你不得,小事自家支當。
示達兒嘛失唎大師
J32nB273_p0218c25達兒嘛失唎乞予語警策,予曰:「時熱,寫便手汙,說便J32nB273_p0218c26口乾,不要問著,問著打折你驢腰。」你便道:「拈棒用力J32nB273_p0218c27多,信手寫一張,愈見法施之普。」雲門普、趙州無、德山J32nB273_p0218c28棒、臨濟喝,與你尋常想底佛、持底咒,同耶?不同耶?同J32nB273_p0218c29則禪分五宗、教分五教,不同則總是釋迦老子兒孫,J32nB273_p0218c30何有彼此之異?到這裏具眼始得;若不具眼,師家學J32nB273_p0219a01者皆為瞎漢。無明常云:說底顯箇不說底秘密,作用J32nB273_p0219a02處表箇無作用處,思議境示箇不思議境。不是秘密,J32nB273_p0219a03只是顯密不二,顯中顯、密中密,何如將箇五香、五藥、J32nB273_p0219a04五身、五智、五佛而能匹配?只如經中所謂酒肉精血、J32nB273_p0219a05便利不淨之物,作法食噉種種受用,只是要你轉自J32nB273_p0219a06己底智身佛,降伏諸魔與夫邪神惡鬼,滅盡許多貪J32nB273_p0219a07嗔癡業識,住於禪定,不壞假名而談實相,不壞世間J32nB273_p0219a08法而成出世間法耳。若是祖師門下,何曾夢見?你決J32nB273_p0219a09要作吾家種草,佛來祖來,盡與斬為三段。自餘是甚J32nB273_p0219a10麼破草鞋?是甚麼臭皮襪?莫見與麼說,便撥無因果,J32nB273_p0219a11行殺盜婬妄,喚作事事無礙,而生遭憲網、死陷泥犁,J32nB273_p0219a12頭出頭沒,無有了日。先聖云:「本無迷悟人,只要今日J32nB273_p0219a13了。」了得趙州無字,無有不了底。只這一箇無字,是斷J32nB273_p0219a14生死命根底刀子,通身是刃,觸著者皆死。若善操持,J32nB273_p0219a15天下無敵。且道柄把在甚麼人手裏?擬議不來時,千J32nB273_p0219a16里萬里去也。勉勉!
示李丹霞道安
J32nB273_p0219a18昔日丹霞騎卻聖僧項,祖師見之曰:「我子天然。」霞禮J32nB273_p0219a19拜曰:「謝師安名。」李道安,汝俗漢,號丹霞,為祖師為汝J32nB273_p0219a20安名耶?祖師即今在甚處?箇事不是說了便休,說到J32nB273_p0219a21行到,猶是半提。若是全提,須親見祖師始得。
示杞侍者持缽
J32nB273_p0219a23你做老僧侍者,須當效古之作母,墮今時網子裏,開J32nB273_p0219a24酒麵店,俵湯果錢,沽名網利,昧卻出家本志,造生死J32nB273_p0219a25業,作邪魔魍魎見解,而自甘虛喪者也。然效古尚恐J32nB273_p0219a26法執未忘,我見猶存,墮在法身邊,不能明大法,具大J32nB273_p0219a27眼目,興大悲智,廓大機用,開大爐鞴,運大鉗鎚,鍛聖J32nB273_p0219a28鎔凡,烹佛煉祖,而為德山、臨濟的子親孫,況墮今時J32nB273_p0219a29者耶?豈不見阿難侍佛二十年,築一肚皮殘羹餿飯,J32nB273_p0219a30打箇噴嚏,聞者謂為青蓮花香,見者謂為日月朗耀。J32nB273_p0219b01及乎結集之時,被大眾擯在門外,若不入靜三昧,四J32nB273_p0219b02稜塌地一回,如何放得電光,唱如是我聞,為佛真子J32nB273_p0219b03耶?洛浦為臨濟侍者,自謂天下無敵,及乎撞著夾山J32nB273_p0219b04虀甕,沒頭浸殺,從前英特之氣其何在耶?老僧亦曾J32nB273_p0219b05做靈隱侍者來,逞聰明,說道理,爭人我,講是非,冷地J32nB273_p0219b06看來,生死岸頭一點子也用不著。居山三十年,且道J32nB273_p0219b07成得箇甚麼事?今夏三四百人相聚,噇了施主飯,住J32nB273_p0219b08了施主屋,不曾見一箇驢叫狗叫,與佛祖出一口氣。J32nB273_p0219b09秋來雖然東去西去,來年老僧若活在此,又來作臭J32nB273_p0219b10肉上青蠅。奈何!奈何!汝既為吾侍者,代吾之勞,效阿J32nB273_p0219b11難持缽去,若墮夾山虀甕裏,悟得臨濟一喝,也是閑J32nB273_p0219b12家具。不見古者云:「大事為你不得,小事自家支當。」
示和藏主
J32nB273_p0219b14道佛一字,漱口三年。記著一字,生死根本。藏主兩字,J32nB273_p0219b15也大難承當。釋迦老子方做得箇藏主,達磨大師要J32nB273_p0219b16且只識得箇主,藏裏底未會用在。自餘之輩,不言可J32nB273_p0219b17知。只如昔有僧問藏主字,藏主良久。你且道是識字J32nB273_p0219b18良久,不識字良久?若識字良久,五千四十八卷皆為J32nB273_p0219b19剩語。若不識字良久,如何喚作藏主耶?到這裏具眼J32nB273_p0219b20始得。
示茂藏主
J32nB273_p0219b22以字不成,八字不是。一大藏,不淨紙。此間無我,目前J32nB273_p0219b23無你。大地無塵,西來無意。因甚五祖道缽囉娘,趙州J32nB273_p0219b24道庭前柏樹子,無明道又是從頭起。呵呵阿呵呵,囉J32nB273_p0219b25囉哩囉哩。
示德都寺
J32nB273_p0219b27祖師西來,觀我震旦有大乘根器,直指此心便是佛。J32nB273_p0219b28其時三宗競演,俱涉心思口議,問及聖諦,乃云:「不識。」J32nB273_p0219b29有箇斷臂阿師,又謂之了了常知,欲言之不可得。一J32nB273_p0219b30犬吠虛,千猱啀實,突出馬駒,踏殺天下人。三腳跛驢,J32nB273_p0219c01吞栗棘蓬,透金剛圈,為天下法。明德都寺,汝決欲做J32nB273_p0219c02他種草,須吞得栗棘蓬,透得金剛圈始得。且道二六J32nB273_p0219c03時中,四威儀內,擬吞栗棘蓬,又被牙齒礙;擬透金剛J32nB273_p0219c04圈,又被一莖草絆腳。果然吞得透得,一莖草拈作丈J32nB273_p0219c05六金身,現出瓊樓玉殿,牙齒縫裏放出八萬四千種J32nB273_p0219c06光明,照見大地眾生,一時成佛,豈不是奇特大丈夫J32nB273_p0219c07也。
示然藏主
J32nB273_p0219c09德然上人!你參我老石屋和尚指示道:「但於十二時J32nB273_p0219c10中放下全身,坐斷主人公,不起第二念。」可謂是的的J32nB273_p0219c11從祖佛相傳,不可傳、不可授、不可說底意旨矣。只如J32nB273_p0219c12你全身放得下麼?一箇臭皮袋子,饑時要粥飯吃,不J32nB273_p0219c13吃則肚饑過不得,如何全身放下?一法如是,萬法亦J32nB273_p0219c14然;自己如是,眾人亦然;佛祖聖賢如是,凡夫亦然;一J32nB273_p0219c15切眾生亦然。正放下時,身在甚麼處?放不下時,你在J32nB273_p0219c16甚麼處?放得下不曾放下,放不下何用放下?人境俱J32nB273_p0219c17空,凡聖俱泯,又何處現釋迦老子與石屋和尚?又向J32nB273_p0219c18何處參父母未生前面目?又向何處求無明法語?又J32nB273_p0219c19向何處入彌勒樓閣?會得赤肉團上有一箇無位真J32nB273_p0219c20人,能分許多位次。眼須觀色,不為色所迷;耳須聽聲,J32nB273_p0219c21不為聲所惑。世間色見聲求,是行邪道。若行見聞覺J32nB273_p0219c22知,是則見聞覺知,非求法也。求底是心,見聞覺知是?J32nB273_p0219c23心佛是?不是心、不是佛、不是物,一拳打碎虛空骨,森J32nB273_p0219c24羅萬象眼睛開,鼻孔何妨高突兀?然藏主!你如今既J32nB273_p0219c25為頭首,以字不成、八字不是,適來對眾喝我一喝,三J32nB273_p0219c26十年後有人勘你在。
示樓子賢
J32nB273_p0219c28吾祖師西來,別無妙訣,單單只指出你自己一片現J32nB273_p0219c29成田地,是成佛之本,出生無限妙法。所以道:百千法J32nB273_p0219c30門,同歸方寸;河沙妙德,總在心源。直下會得,已涉支J32nB273_p0220a01離,更擬如何若何,轉求轉遠。子賢!汝為吾清翁長子,J32nB273_p0220a02修身正心、齊家治世之法,活轆轆地,十二時中未曾J32nB273_p0220a03欠少,只這無欠少處,便是吾佛祖傳不得底妙心。這J32nB273_p0220a04些子要在你知得下落,作得主,識得破,把得定,不被J32nB273_p0220a05許多聲色不實底境界奪將去。能奪諸境界,佛云:「若J32nB273_p0220a06能轉物,即同如來。」便是這箇道理。我語說不盡,且截J32nB273_p0220a07斷葛藤。
示馬道常
J32nB273_p0220a09二十餘年住伏龍,一茅庵對兩三峰,近來老病唯貪J32nB273_p0220a10睡,覺起東方日已紅。東陽馬道常,我家裏事,你不可J32nB273_p0220a11攙行奪市。昔老龐參石頭,悟得日用事無別。後參馬J32nB273_p0220a12大師,悟得不與萬法為侶,將百萬家私沉於水裏,情J32nB273_p0220a13願賣笊籬於市而給口體,共子女說無巴鼻話。眼空J32nB273_p0220a14天下諸大老,罵盡許多蚊虻蠓蠁,雖天龍香象亦皆J32nB273_p0220a15斂衽。嘗云:「吾非賢聖,了事凡夫。」真俗流中是箇成佛J32nB273_p0220a16作祖底漢,恐你學他不得。若學得,豈不偉歟?
頌古
J32nB273_p0220b02世尊纔生下,一手指天,一手指地,云:「天上天下,唯J32nB273_p0220b03吾獨尊。」雲門云:「我當時若見,一棒打殺與狗子喫,J32nB273_p0220b04貴圖天下太平。」頌曰:
日出天歡喜,雲生地起愁。如何人不老,得似水長流。
世尊拈花,迦葉微笑。
命根欲斷氣未斷,正是臨行撒手時。家活不須分付J32nB273_p0220b11得,棺材頭哭有親兒。
維摩詰問文殊師利:「何等是菩薩入不二法門?」文J32nB273_p0220b13殊師利曰:「如我意者,於一切法,無言無說,無示無J32nB273_p0220b14識,離諸問答,是為入不二法門。」於是文殊師利問J32nB273_p0220b15維摩詰:「我等各自說已,仁者當說何等入不二法J32nB273_p0220b16門?」
鐵笛橫吹宇宙清,蝦蟆蚯蚓解翻身。相知不在千盃J32nB273_p0220b18酒,一盞清茶也醉人。

邪法靈驗,正法難扶。潦倒瞿曇,好不丈夫。

南泉參百丈涅槃和尚,丈問:「從上諸聖還有不為J32nB273_p0220b30人說底法麼?」泉云:「有。」丈云:「作麼生是不為人說底J32nB273_p0220c01法?」泉云:「不是心,不是佛,不是物。」丈云:「說了也。」泉云:J32nB273_p0220c02「某甲只與麼,和尚作麼生?」丈云:「我又不是善知識,J32nB273_p0220c03爭知有說不說?」泉云:「某甲不會。」丈云:「我太煞為汝J32nB273_p0220c04說也。」
一個拽來還拽去,一人牽去又牽來。深山一段無根J32nB273_p0220c06樹,直至如今鋸不開。
陸亙大夫與南泉語話次,夫云:「肇法師道:『天地同J32nB273_p0220c08根,萬物一體。』也甚奇怪。」南泉指庭前花召大夫云:J32nB273_p0220c09「時人見此一株花,如夢相似。」
巢知風,穴知雨,磁石吸針潮漲醋。汝等諸人莫莽鹵,J32nB273_p0220c11虎之缺兮馬之馽,東西如何密相付。
藥山一日齋時自打鼓,高沙彌捧缽作舞入堂,山J32nB273_p0220c13拋下鼓椎云:「是第幾和?」彌云:「是第二和。」山云:「如何J32nB273_p0220c14是第一和?」彌就桶內舀一杓飯便去。
賣美小孩兒伎倆,竿頭卻解倒翻身。堂中坐地應無J32nB273_p0220c16分,只是逢場作戲人。
百丈。僧問:「如何是奇特事?」丈云:「獨坐大雄峰。」僧禮J32nB273_p0220c18拜,丈便打。
巍巍獨坐大雄峰,個是無牙老大虫,佛到也須遭一J32nB273_p0220c20口,普天匝地起腥風。
德山到,溈山挾複子於法堂上,從東過西,從西過J32nB273_p0220c22東,顧視云:「無!無!」便出至門首,卻云:「也不得草草。」重J32nB273_p0220c23具威儀,再入相見,才跨方丈,便提起坐具云:「和尚!」J32nB273_p0220c24溈山擬取拂子,德山便喝,拂袖而出。溈山至晚問J32nB273_p0220c25首座:「今日新到在不?」首座云:「當時背卻法堂,著草J32nB273_p0220c26鞋出去了也。」溈山云:「此子已後向孤峰頂上盤結J32nB273_p0220c27草庵,呵佛罵祖去在。」
衝開巨浪百千重,透網金鱗氣勢雄,江上漁翁空眼J32nB273_p0220c29熱,不知拄杖化為龍。
臨濟問黃檗佛法喫六十棒,至大愚處築拳。
雷轟電掣雨傾盆,風捲波濤透海門。脫殼烏龜頭戴J32nB273_p0221a02角,只將一滴潤乾坤。
臨濟侍德山坐次,山云:「今日困。」濟云:「寐語作麼?」山J32nB273_p0221a04擬拈棒,濟便掀倒禪床。
西方舶主眼睛赤,南海波斯鼻孔麤,拼得滿船無價J32nB273_p0221a06寶,博他一顆夜明珠。
定上座問臨濟:「如何是佛法大意?」濟下繩床擒住,J32nB273_p0221a08與一掌便托開。定佇立,旁僧云:「定上座何不禮拜?」J32nB273_p0221a09定方禮,忽然大悟。
靈龜曳尾跡紛紛,攪得滄江徹底渾。若不藍田射石J32nB273_p0221a11虎,幾乎誤殺李將軍。
東寺問仰山鎮海明珠。
廣南鎮海珠,分文也不直。撞著瞎波斯,更問作何色。J32nB273_p0221a14當下一槌百雜碎,溈仰之宗未墜地。

虛空無壁落,四面亦無門。日月照不到,別是一乾坤。
趙州青州布衫重七斤。
嶺雲片片如飛絮,拈作青衫出當家。後代只貪斤兩J32nB273_p0221a19重,洞山貼秤又稱麻。
趙州。僧問:「黑豆未生芽時如何?」州云:「好合醬。」
黑豆好合醬,半斤還八兩。可憐破沙盆,喚作正法眼。
趙州。僧問:「承聞和尚親見南泉,是不?」州云:「鎮州出J32nB273_p0221a23大蘿蔔頭。」
天上無雙月,人間只一僧。鎮州蘿蔔大,何處不聞名。
趙州。僧問:「至道無難,唯嫌揀擇。」州云:「天上天下,唯J32nB273_p0221a26我獨尊。」僧云:「此猶是揀擇。」州云:「田庫奴!甚麼處是J32nB273_p0221a27揀擇?」僧無語。
人頑似鐵,官法如爐,禾熟登場不納租。米裏有虫,麥J32nB273_p0221a29裏有麩,田庫奴至道無難。會也麼?
趙州。僧問:「如何是趙州?」州云:「東門、南門、西門、北門。」
東西南北是門頭,問趙州兮答趙州。三四百條花柳J32nB273_p0221b02巷,二三千處管絃樓。
憲宗迎佛,舍利現五色光,百辟皆賀,唯韓愈端立。J32nB273_p0221b04帝問:「百僚皆賀,卿為甚不賀?」師代云:「臣已賀了。」愈J32nB273_p0221b05云:「臣曾看佛書來,佛光非青黃赤白等相,此是龍J32nB273_p0221b06神荷助之光。」帝云:「如何是佛光?」愈無對。師代云:「陛J32nB273_p0221b07下問處便是。」
此光不是佛光,群臣莫我敬王。陛下問處便是,管取J32nB273_p0221b09龍顏大喜。休擬議,擬議白雲萬里。
洞山。僧問:「如何是佛?」山云:「麻三斤。」
秤頭有紐,秤尾無星。一個錘推上推下,兩片皮說重J32nB273_p0221b12說輕。若是牙郎主人,豈定道麻三斤。
木平問洛浦:「一漚未發時如何?」浦云:「移舟諳水脈,J32nB273_p0221b14舉棹別波瀾。」平不契,復問蟠龍,龍云:「移舟不別水,J32nB273_p0221b15舉棹即迷源。」平大悟。雲峰悅云:「木平於洛浦言下J32nB273_p0221b16悟去,猶較些子,可惜向蟠龍死水中淹殺。」
如何活水不藏龍,情願淹他死水中。提起當年虀甕J32nB273_p0221b18看,不堪惆悵動悲風。
投子指菴前一片石,謂雪峰云:「三世諸佛總在裏J32nB273_p0221b20許。」峰云:「還有不在裏許者麼?」子云:「不快漆桶。」
不快漆桶,團圞無縫。一擔兩頭,中間最重。堪笑翁翁J32nB273_p0221b22只賣油,勘破須還老趙州。
巖頭銅沙鑼裏滿盛油。
暉天露刃七星流,擬欲抬眸斬卻頭,平地死人無數J32nB273_p0221b25數,銅沙鑼裏滿盛油。
子胡看狗。
見有人來便咬殺,帶牌惡犬甚猙獰。是渠佛性都無J32nB273_p0221b28了,情愿輪迴墮畜生。
三聖問雪峰:「透網金鱗,未審何以為食?」峰云:「待汝J32nB273_p0221b30出網來向汝道。」聖云:「一千五百人善知識,話頭也J32nB273_p0221c01不識。」峰云:「老僧住持事繁。」
透網金鱗衝浪來,龍門萬仞碧崔嵬。不遭點額還燒J32nB273_p0221c03尾,閃電光中吼怒雷。
雲門示眾云:「聞聲悟道,見色明心。觀世音菩薩將J32nB273_p0221c05錢買胡餅,放下手元來卻是饅頭。」
雲門氣宇如王,偏要剜肉作瘡。觀音菩薩買胡餅,也J32nB273_p0221c07是雪上加霜。
雲門示眾云:「乾坤之內,宇宙之間,中有一寶,秘在J32nB273_p0221c09形山。拈燈籠來佛殿裏,將山門向燈籠上。」
無明有一寶,青黃赤白皁。深山開鋪席,鬧市沿門叫。J32nB273_p0221c11賣與世間人,可憐都不要。黑漆皮燈籠,撞著呵呵笑。
雲門。僧問:「如何是清淨法身?」門云:「花藥欄。」僧云:「便J32nB273_p0221c13與麼去時如何?」門云:「金毛師子。」
花藥欄,淨法身,金毛師子玉麒麟。舌頭無骨饒陽老,J32nB273_p0221c15那個師僧眼有筋。
雲門。僧問:「如何是一代時教?」門云:「對一說。」
對一說,八十翁翁嚼生鐵。咬卻舌,流出血,萬象光中J32nB273_p0221c18寒凜冽。明眼禪和總不知,剛把烏龜喚作鱉。
雲門。僧問:「不是目前機,亦非目前事時如何?」門云:J32nB273_p0221c20「倒一說。」
百億山河皆帝闕,古今日月一雙眸。不知那個無思J32nB273_p0221c22算,獨據毘盧頂上頭。
雲門。僧問:「如何是法身?」門云:「六不收。」
六不收,一拳拳倒黃鶴樓,題詩崔顥今何在,萬古長J32nB273_p0221c25江空自流。
翠巖打失兩莖眉,屋裏人家便得知。痛處一錐猶自J32nB273_p0221c30可,那堪更下頂門槌。
香林遠禪師。僧問:「如何是祖師西來意?」遠云:「坐久J32nB273_p0222a02成勞。」
動便遭人檢點,坐久卻又成勞。古今公議,凡聖難逃。J32nB273_p0222a04大地山河一片雪,日炙風吹竟不消。
陳操尚書看資福,福見來,便畫一圓相。操云:「弟子J32nB273_p0222a06恁麼來,早是不著便,更畫圓相?」資福便掩卻門。
吾家密事俗人知,月蝕盧仝便有詩。只為慎初兼護J32nB273_p0222a08末,不知失卻兩莖眉。
多福。僧問:「如何是多福一叢竹?」福云:「一莖兩莖斜。」J32nB273_p0222a10僧云:「學人不會。」福云:「三莖四莖曲。」
僧問多福一叢竹,我道千巖一樹松。巨靈抬手無多J32nB273_p0222a12子,分破華山千萬重。
佛燈珣勘金陵俞道婆
識得孃孃便問爺,親生終是眼頭乖。人家男女河沙J32nB273_p0222a15數,更有誰來慰老懷。
五祖演垂語云:「釋迦、彌勒猶是他奴,且道他是阿J32nB273_p0222a17誰?」
後園蘿蔔種,灶下火柴頭。屎窖蛆虫子,呵呵笑不休。
北禪烹露地白牛分歲。
且喜今年田稻熟,村歌社舞樂雞豚。斜陽影裡人皆J32nB273_p0222a21醉,扶得翁歸是阿孫。
和梁山和尚十牛頌。
尋牛 暫時不在急須尋,莫待渠儂入草深。滿目青J32nB273_p0222a24山無別跡,只消回首一沉吟。
J32nB273_p0222a25見跡 也知隔遠苦無多,只管貪程作甚麼。蹄踏蹄J32nB273_p0222a26兮觜連觜,明明此物更非他。

J32nB273_p0222a29得牛 如今處處得逢渠,帶水拖泥不用除。總是國J32nB273_p0222a30王田地上,何妨村草步頭居。
J32nB273_p0222b01牧牛 百草頭邊百億身,如何得不犯纖塵?鼻繩拽J32nB273_p0222b02轉從頭看,誰是牛兮誰是人?
J32nB273_p0222b03騎牛到家 露地橫眠已到家,不騎泥像學丹霞。尾J32nB273_p0222b04巴搖動三千界,還作宗門中爪牙。
J32nB273_p0222b05忘牛存人 無牛得看只看山,一個翁翁閒更閒。喜J32nB273_p0222b06有白雲相伴住,溪邊茅屋兩三間。
J32nB273_p0222b07人牛俱亡 皮毛筋骨蕩然空,好手毋勞游刃通。正J32nB273_p0222b08眼瞎驢邊滅卻,更將何物顯真宗。
J32nB273_p0222b09返本還源 現成公案孰施功,耳不盲兮眼不聾。一J32nB273_p0222b10一音聲諸色相,分明黑白間青紅。
J32nB273_p0222b11入廛垂手 殺人便解活人來,鬣頷何妨又吒腮。甘J32nB273_p0222b12作畜生行異類,重重關鎖盡衝開。

達磨

J32nB273_p0231a16「天公豈可沒人情,雨雪堆中揀得晴,修福自然招福J32nB273_p0231a17報,生前死後顯光明。大眾!還見面前一片田地麼?這J32nB273_p0231a18是我清翁老人親手做得來底,生也受用不盡,死也J32nB273_p0231a19受用不盡,傳之子子孫孫亦復受用不盡。現前諸人J32nB273_p0231a20若能見樣學樣,各請歸家做取這一片田地好。不然,J32nB273_p0231a21山僧更為鋪花錦上。世有英傑,積善種德,一句合頭,J32nB273_p0231a22千車共轍。即日恭惟故我檀越清翁老朝奉智者國J32nB273_p0231a23師,種族義烏縣裏老成,八十四年生,生本不生,行而J32nB273_p0231a24能說、說而行;八十四年死,死亦不死,子又生孫孫又J32nB273_p0231a25子。三年之喪,孝也;今日之葬,禮也。天之清、翁之清矣,J32nB273_p0231a26鄰上清釋梵之宮;地之厚、德之厚焉,廓心地真常之J32nB273_p0231a27境。泥𡋯頭突出鼻孔,髑髏中豁開眼睛,觀色即空成J32nB273_p0231a28大智,不住生死;觀空即色成大悲,不住涅槃。既不住J32nB273_p0231a29涅槃,又不住生死,即今清翁老人全身奉重一句作J32nB273_p0231a30麼生道?」以土撒,云:「靈棺可掩名難掩,路上行人口似J32nB273_p0231b01碑。只此告違,伏惟珍重。」

J32nB273_p0231c14可上人至,承以出世天龍惠書及信物,并入院小參J32nB273_p0231c15佛事,足見不忘四十年道舊之義。茅菴對眾披讀,無J32nB273_p0231c16不欣慶,所謂一佛出世,千佛共贊也。然住院初無大J32nB273_p0231c17小,要在主人何如耳。無用既為一方主人,便與前來J32nB273_p0231c18獨居時不同。何以故?古之參禪辦道之士,或獨居、或J32nB273_p0231c19處眾,單單以生死兩箇字為急務,如救頭然。打破漆J32nB273_p0231c20桶之後,日夕磨礪,身心一如,蕩然無纖毫過患,久久J32nB273_p0231c21不可掩,其光明自然敗露,不得已被人掇在這座子J32nB273_p0231c22上坐地。以其得處穩密、用處諦當,一動一靜、一語一J32nB273_p0231c23默,皆可與人作箇樣子,故有住持之說。夫住持者,住J32nB273_p0231c24於不可住之地、持其不可持之法,利濟一切,傳之無J32nB273_p0231c25窮,豈小根劣器之所能?真世出世間大力量、大丈夫、大J32nB273_p0231c26善知識,所以有眼者見、有耳者聞,猶國之有君、家之J32nB273_p0231c27有父,君聖而臣賢、父慈而子孝,眾人以一人為之主、J32nB273_p0231c28一人以眾人為之賓,賓主歷然,風行草偃,不言而治,J32nB273_p0231c29蓋本於斯。況頂𩕳具大眼目,辨龍蛇、別虎兕,啟大爐J32nB273_p0231c30鞴、運大鉗鎚,鎔凡聖、烹佛祖,向千箇萬箇中點一箇J32nB273_p0232a01出來,作靈山正傳、為少林種草,如燈照燈、如水與水,J32nB273_p0232a02故有法嗣之說。豈有今之紛紛者,以勢利相傾、人我J32nB273_p0232a03相勝、詐偽相欺、狠戾相奪,甚至詞訟相加、毒害相殺,J32nB273_p0232a04往往白衣面前搖尾乞憐、銕面活閻羅王手中乞命,J32nB273_p0232a05如斯之輩似粟如麻,作地獄業名地獄查,喚作住持J32nB273_p0232a06得麼?喚作法嗣得麼?苦哉!屈哉!百丈、臨濟一宗掃地J32nB273_p0232a07盡矣,清涼、天台、南山、慈恩之道其如何哉?正此之際,J32nB273_p0232a08釋迦老子便出頭來也救不得了也無用,你又如何J32nB273_p0232a09救得?只如天龍請你作長老,不過要你美幾塊木頭、J32nB273_p0232a10粧幾箇泥塊而已。若要大統宗綱、重光祖日,古人自J32nB273_p0232a11有樣子。無明自救不了,且不曾住人院子、又不曾作J32nB273_p0232a12一日主人,三十年只是茅廬客居、二十年伏龍山中J32nB273_p0232a13只是一箇園頭道者耳,豈堪為無用之師?若準來書J32nB273_p0232a14所云,得不遭人怪笑,彼此老大相見未期。草草奉復,J32nB273_p0232a15萬萬為眾竭力。珍重。

J32nB273_p0232a17前日承一宿山中,談話半更,今日有書來報云云。無J32nB273_p0232a18明讀一過,不覺失笑。笑箇什麼?笑景濂坐井觀天。又J32nB273_p0232a19如貧兒拾得錫,說與人要作銀子賣,只是自不識貨,J32nB273_p0232a20教別人不識貨則不可。何以故?景濂每嘗在塵勞聲J32nB273_p0232a21色境界中,輥得爛骨地熟了,思量計較文字語言美,J32nB273_p0232a22聰明業識多了。乍聞吾輩說,一箇放下,可以做寂靜J32nB273_p0232a23工夫,透脫生死。得此事入手,暫時起一念厭離之心,J32nB273_p0232a24退步靜坐,回頭乃見無思量、無語言處,便錯認作法J32nB273_p0232a25身,喻如玲瓏八面窗,喻如須彌山,言說不得。這箇只J32nB273_p0232a26是暫時岐路,如何便罵得佛、贊得祖、贊得無明耶?贊J32nB273_p0232a27罵憎愛心不除,但增長我見。我見未忘,目前只見別J32nB273_p0232a28人過失,不知自家過失,要成辦透脫生死大事難矣。J32nB273_p0232a29景濂果欲辦這件事,只向無思量、無言語處,便好仔J32nB273_p0232a30細推窮,不用說向人。驀忽命根斷,偷心絕,絕後更甦,J32nB273_p0232b01欺君不得,卻來求印可亦不遲。
J32nB273_p0232b02士林中來者,無不盛談左右乃間氣所生,文章學問J32nB273_p0232b03絕出,為淛東群儒之冠,且尤深於內典,欣羨無已。承J32nB273_p0232b04敘自幼讀佛書,領其要旨,出入有無、空假、中中,至於J32nB273_p0232b05中且不有,有無何在?三復斯言,此今之士夫執有執J32nB273_p0232b06無,離邊離中,分彼此儒釋之異,如左右儒釋一貫者J32nB273_p0232b07能有幾人?人言為不虛矣。張無盡云:「余因學佛,然後J32nB273_p0232b08知儒。」古德云:「居無為界中,而不斷滅有為之法;居有J32nB273_p0232b09為界中,而不分別無為之相。」暗合道妙,不易不易。審J32nB273_p0232b10如是,則有為底便是無為底,左右已百了千當,何處J32nB273_p0232b11更有身心之慮未祛,事物之來未息?又何處更有真J32nB273_p0232b12實工夫可做,而後出離有為,了生死大事耶?左右與J32nB273_p0232b13山野交二十年,會或劇談,別或寄語,未有如此書之J32nB273_p0232b14至誠也。人天之際唯誠,朋友之道亦誠而已。只如左J32nB273_p0232b15右未動念、未操觚拂紙、未陳一言,及寫在紙上了,是J32nB273_p0232b16有為?是無為?是生?是死?是生死法?是出生死法?這些J32nB273_p0232b17子直是淆訛。故孔子謂子路曰:「未知生,焉知死?」孔子J32nB273_p0232b18底說話,莫道子路不知落處,盡大地人都不知落處。J32nB273_p0232b19豈不見黃山谷訪死心和尚,死心云:「聞公會禪,諸方J32nB273_p0232b20皆印可,是否?」山谷云:「不敢。」死心云:「我有一問問公,公J32nB273_p0232b21試答看。彼此燒作一堆灰時,在甚處相見?」山谷茫然。J32nB273_p0232b22後參晦堂,示吾無隱乎爾一言,聞桂花香,打破漆桶,J32nB273_p0232b23鼻孔撩天。大丈夫欲成辦箇事,自有箇般時節。山谷J32nB273_p0232b24雖是一塊精金,須入死心、晦堂作家爐鞴,惡辣鉗鎚J32nB273_p0232b25始得。這一隊漢若到無明門下,更須一一勘過。何也?J32nB273_p0232b26不是美潮人,休入洪波裏。山野如是杜撰,左右以為J32nB273_p0232b27如何?左右以至誠而來,山野不可不至誠而答。筆倦,J32nB273_p0232b28且截斷葛藤。

J32nB273_p0234a19予少游禪林間,聞J32nB273_p0234a20千巖禪師居婺之伏龍山,其道大行,四眾歸之。當元J32nB273_p0234a21之盛時,庵居知識,在天目則中峰本公,華頂則無見J32nB273_p0234a22睹公,屹然法幢,東西角立。伏龍雖晚出,而與天目、華J32nB273_p0234a23頂並高矣。今讀師之語錄,簡古超邁,無非開示學者。J32nB273_p0234a24讀之盡卷,如入居藥之肆,睹其諸異藥品,皆可已人J32nB273_p0234a25之疾;如游香積世界,聞其眾妙香氣,皆可止人之饑。J32nB273_p0234a26是錄行世,人得而誦之,則沉痾虛腹,孰有不脫然而J32nB273_p0234a27起,充然而足者乎?因其徒德鄰之請,故書之如此。
