J29nB222_p0013b05雪山老子常言:「一切眾生具有如來智慧德相。」此老J29nB222_p0013b06子一片苦心,徹底要人當下寤去;而人只不肯,盍忽J29nB222_p0013b07於平常返欲務高求深良可歎也。公肯信此言之切J29nB222_p0013b08而當下寤去否?如不能,切須留神,不可甘為經史耽J29nB222_p0013b09誤平生。前之人,即塵勞中做去者有之,即潔白中做J29nB222_p0013b10去者亦有之。第塵勞中拔出為百當千,了者常十一;J29nB222_p0013b11而潔白中得來為百當千,了者常十九,此輕重之效J29nB222_p0013b12也。能於二處做得去,此又真火中蓮、丈夫漢也。山僧J29nB222_p0013b13在荊南煙霧中,回首夔門儼在天上,安能與公把臂J29nB222_p0013b14快談乎?為道自佳,餘不備。
與笑一法師
J29nB222_p0013b16湘南領眾,刻不容離,何能謀面談鄉井中清話?直令J29nB222_p0013b17人隱隱作凌雲想耳!聞足下論《法華》於天門,而深固J29nB222_p0013b18幽遠之寶所當陽道出,參請輩覿面相承,余實躍然J29nB222_p0013b19無休也。遣人趨座拾取毒言,不識足下毒腸以為何J29nB222_p0013b20如?附後小偈:「靈山未散語何真?栗棘吞來怕殺人,竹J29nB222_p0013b21杖仝君歸錦里,鑾師席上醉華春。」
复笑一法師附來書
J29nB222_p0013b23至人應運,古佛為心,終不以譏刺、愛譽為二,而來教J29nB222_p0013b24長箋批答,分析過當,詞气少貶,詎非夫子有蓬之心J29nB222_p0013b25也邪?足下大見,何薄且陋乎?前之人擊塗毒鼓、灑甘J29nB222_p0013b26露漿,莖艸見瓊樓、須彌置芥孔,固非淺見可能測度。J29nB222_p0013b27然余猶少羨於足下者,盍鑒祖、鑾師皆出吾蜀,疑足J29nB222_p0013b28下亦其人之流亞,實用繾綣待以智者,又譽以毒言、J29nB222_p0013b29毒腸及小偈云云。孰知只泛泛一支講人,實未夢見J29nB222_p0013b30實際理耳!既非種艸似不當論,而武陵龍孝若常言:J29nB222_p0013c01「足下曾見雲門和尚,素有良遂敲門之勤。」今來諭「鄙J29nB222_p0013c02辱殆盡,誠白面書生之淺見,能不錯會余相愛者?」就J29nB222_p0013c03來諭而試一論之。先德常言:「是賊識賊。」足下不妄稱J29nB222_p0013c04誤作亂吼爭光,安知人妄稱誤作亂吼爭光乎?然不J29nB222_p0013c05知此種種,亦何常不入正受不是玅理?所謂與諸勞J29nB222_p0013c06侶仝一手作。倘學不如此,不無師子咬人、韓盧逐塊,J29nB222_p0013c07實可憐憫者。至於「太虛玅體,西氏丰神,不令稚子管J29nB222_p0013c08窺、醜婦顰效,余恐羊質虎皮、雞心鳳狀,大為人所笑J29nB222_p0013c09也。」噫!足下識見只合美以紅蓮舌、白玉齒,不合稱以J29nB222_p0013c10毒言語、毒心腸。烏乎!醍醐上味為世所珍,遇此等人J29nB222_p0013c11翻成毒藥。有旨哉!有旨哉!
J29nB222_p0013c12艸昧世界,機智人心。魚目妄稱明珠,山雞誤作彩J29nB222_p0013c13鳳。碔砆與白璧爭光,狐狸仝獅子亂吼,良可嘆也。J29nB222_p0013c14予不欲以太虛玅體受稚子管窺、西氏丰神令醜J29nB222_p0013c15婦顰效,於是偕二三好音,嘯傲於煙雲之上;五十J29nB222_p0013c16知非,養恬於丘壑之中,乃予拙計也。聞老和尚於J29nB222_p0013c17深山窮谷而棒喝交馳,費精殫神而平常少會,非J29nB222_p0013c18大手段、大力量者不能。予欲向癡人前說夢,恐釋J29nB222_p0013c19迦老子笑我也。忽接來教,大章大書未必出自老J29nB222_p0013c20和尚親手,而中閒語句恐門弟子向口角邊取錄J29nB222_p0013c21也。感謝感謝!俟遲,特謀一晤方面布,不悉。
复若明請住德山
J29nB222_p0013c23鑒祖老人唱龍潭宗旨,於是山每接納四來,棒如雨J29nB222_p0013c24點亦如燒尾,辟歷幾七百年,絕無繼此席者,而是山J29nB222_p0013c25七百年竟寥寥耳!上座既惜此席久虛,乃有是命,欲J29nB222_p0013c26山野極力扶持,其見可謂偉矣!但山野適有芰荷衣、J29nB222_p0013c27松華食之想,其志既堅,似難回策。上座的欲完此段J29nB222_p0013c28公案,亦應待其時、待其人,而不可艸艸光景,當亦如J29nB222_p0013c29鐵而老子斷盡人知解,不惟不媿老人,亦不辱足下J29nB222_p0013c30知人之累。
复亮西堂啟教授
J29nB222_p0014a02正欲走金雞尋二公談還鄉曲與物不遷之旨,何期J29nB222_p0014a03先辱華札,字字珠璣,誠得我悟師翁棒頭消息者也。J29nB222_p0014a04山野寧不羨且賀哉?手教問山僧在萬峰時事,萬峰J29nB222_p0014a05唯打幾頓,絕無物與人,臨濟兒孫何堪預數?二公過J29nB222_p0014a06譽,使汗下浹背也。邀住金雞,即當如命完此口願。第J29nB222_p0014a07方退藥山院,而諸剎皆有命,以我病足未得少瘳,安J29nB222_p0014a08能一一酬之?然金雞雖不能久住,當必過看作三日J29nB222_p0014a09談耳!不盡欲言。
复李修吉居士
J29nB222_p0014a11來楚二年,法幢三樹,意覓一具眼人不得,何天假其J29nB222_p0014a12緣相遘於仙眠洲上?說及此段光景無不相信,但試J29nB222_p0014a13稘迫,不得三日提點耳!昨雖快談,不過艸艸,而一口J29nB222_p0014a14气怎能說得到底?居士气宇雖不減石公、龍湖,也須J29nB222_p0014a15久久方能盡善。古人有生來淨潔者、有學問淘洒者、J29nB222_p0014a16有工夫磨煉者,閱來書,似在第三方得徹頭。倘船子J29nB222_p0014a17可,能留一日,再來痛領談笑鍼錐、瞚揚棒喝,作赤身J29nB222_p0014a18擔荷人,無自甘門外。
复元璧金居士
J29nB222_p0014a20向史書上楷模道理,恐不能作了當人。何也?公以孔、J29nB222_p0014a21孟比大鑒而先,朱、程比臨濟而後,胸中何重前而輕J29nB222_p0014a22後之甚邪?既朱、程比臨濟而後,則臨濟而後盡屬知J29nB222_p0014a23解?雪竇云:「此箇尚不與教乘合,況《中庸》、《大學》邪?」若論J29nB222_p0014a24大鑒而先,即玄元蒙莊猶尚不類,奚仁義之道一門J29nB222_p0014a25哉?從上來事如大火聚,觸之則燒,公謂縱禽便利可J29nB222_p0014a26乎?不但不識古人,且不識古人用處,誠景響中事,無J29nB222_p0014a27怪乎山僧語直也。倘把古人用處頓向面前著實理J29nB222_p0014a28會,久當親證,始知不是縱禽、不是便利,亦知山僧不J29nB222_p0014a29女欺也。來書有「向道最為堅固,切欲實證」等語,故據J29nB222_p0014a30實寫來,諒必不气悶下筆沒人情也。
复白拈張居士
J29nB222_p0014b02來諭「生此季世,爾我皆苦,回望天竺尼山,真雲泥殊J29nB222_p0014b03繼也。」大約過量人斷出此苦之外,又何須論天竺尼J29nB222_p0014b04山之樂而爾我不樂為哉?然山僧正好向一步一跛J29nB222_p0014b05處示人,爾亦好向呼奴喚婢邊作用,若身若世總是J29nB222_p0014b06當人本地風光,誰見有一絲豪身世為苦樂邪?幾時J29nB222_p0014b07策俊骨過我,聚話一上何如?
复困菴龔居士
J29nB222_p0014b09如何如何,一任卜度?若據者箇,居士實未得在。不見J29nB222_p0014b10認著依前不是,不認著依前亦不是。認與不認,居士J29nB222_p0014b11如何承當?又謂:「棒之與笑,本自無殊,一任卜度,但屈J29nB222_p0014b12殺古人多多也。」然者箇即韓、白、蘇、黃尚未夢見,況居J29nB222_p0014b13士種種見解乃能得入路邪?至於近與不近、來與不J29nB222_p0014b14來,山僧放居士二十棒,免得葛藤蔓延。
复淨土寺淨峨禪人
J29nB222_p0014b16萬峰老人祥符解制,复有黃龍之命連書相喚,欲山J29nB222_p0014b17僧往黃龍,但不知何所教也?今又一書敦催,乃破暑J29nB222_p0014b18而去,則前所許者實難如命,況撦葛藤念子,山僧灰J29nB222_p0014b19冷久矣!如的欲完此因緣,可請徹兄甚玅。徹兄是山J29nB222_p0014b20僧素所知者,二十四部無不洞淵造微,如舍徹兄而J29nB222_p0014b21外,山僧莫得而知也。
复王方伯狄雲居士
J29nB222_p0014b23住方城山日,常在師僧前稱說居士見宰官身護持J29nB222_p0014b24我法者,適誦大教,至欲聆風旛之說,則已在公筆尖J29nB222_p0014b25上漏洩了也,又要山僧矢上加尖,得不為葛藤禪所J29nB222_p0014b26笑邪?如公識得,便是放心時節;不然,還須共山中人J29nB222_p0014b27住幾日,不致作門外弼,終門裏相公也。
复長眉羅明府
J29nB222_p0014b29土廣人稀,山僧素所慨者。長樂菴得公金石之談,山J29nB222_p0014b30僧眼中意中不覺光明,此何修而能致此也?前牛山J29nB222_p0014c01亦承公與之酬唱激揚,不然,何能使新寧道俗沾法J29nB222_p0014c02利如是之沃也?適又承多寶臧中迻來利益人天,山J29nB222_p0014c03僧汗顏,統此致謝。
复懋中朱居士
J29nB222_p0014c05荊楚間每晤士大夫言及此事,無一二不怖毒害、能J29nB222_p0014c06可其意者,故買輕舟溯流而西以尋亮座主舊址,對J29nB222_p0014c07猿鶴、招麋鹿,誦箕山、燕蕨薇為樂。不意慈利多有辣J29nB222_p0014c08手阻我蘭橈,而复有居士,豈悅老再出,無盡後來乎?J29nB222_p0014c09請過青蓮山中重論末後句子,勿為紙墨交可也。

善財度草
能殺能涽,只一莖艸,者裏不會何處討?善財善財,莫J29nB222_p0014c22被謾好。
不落不昧
不昧不落,前錯後錯,春風起洛城,華鳥不見過。過!也J29nB222_p0014c25是大蟲看水磨。
十智仝真
百二嚴關欲上難,不知別路向長安,一聲喚得故人J29nB222_p0014c28出,綠酉紅亭奏合歡。
楊岐示眾:「老僧舉則公案布施大眾。」良久云:「口J29nB222_p0014c30只堪喫飯。」
九十老婆逞玉顏,不知雪已覆雲鬟,旁人卻道風流J29nB222_p0015a02甚,別是天地非人閒。
南泉斬貓
手中寶劍起龍文,百二河山蕩最氛,從此太平消劍J29nB222_p0015a05戟,更無戎馬度河汾。
黃檗打臨濟三頓棒
無耑三度上雲房,六十頭皮起禍殃,寄語諸方當著J29nB222_p0015a08眼,何須清濁費商量?
裴休丞相問黃檗壁上高僧象
畫人不會畫人心,何似人心會畫人?欲識畫人端的J29nB222_p0015a11意,等閒喚處句來親。
趙州三佛
木佛泥佛與金佛,何常不是大人作?只是當年老趙J29nB222_p0015a14州,不曾把定末後著。
婆子燒菴
無耑突出向雲中,一片寒天起黑風,好箇金輪無艷J29nB222_p0015a17色,回頭猛火在牆東。
僧問雲門:「如何是佛?」門云:「乾屎橛。」
雲門屎橛,人多气急,屈指算將來,九九八十一。
夾山見船子
全身分付不須疑,才有絲豪便見欺。末後著,知不知,J29nB222_p0015a22覆船入水也多時。
黃龍三關
我手佛手,拈苕弄帚,括地埽天,絕無好醜。我腳驢腳,J29nB222_p0015a25步步蹋著,引得兒孫,無繩討縛。人人生緣,種地耕田,J29nB222_p0015a26驀直一路,蒼天蒼天。
玄沙敢保老兄未徹話
睦州見僧便云:「見成公案,放女三十棒。」
劈頭把出驗來人,匝匝清風繞客身,既是金蘭莫逆J29nB222_p0015b02友,何須戈戟暗中陳?
拾得曰:「無瞋即是戒,心淨即出家,我性與你合,J29nB222_p0015b04一切法無差。」
無瞋無箇戒,無心無箇家,我性與你性,擬合即成差。
僧問破山老人:「終日喫飯不曾咬著一粒米時J29nB222_p0015b07如何?」山云:「一箇斑鳩九隻鳥。」
終日喫飯不曾咬,一箇斑鳩九隻鳥,飛來飛去樹梢J29nB222_p0015b09頭,鬧轟轟地生煩惱。
龍城元徹禪師示眾:「眹兆未分,總是者箇○;兩J29nB222_p0015b11儀既判,不離者箇○;即今縱有者箇○○○○J29nB222_p0015b12○○,不出者箇○。」
分不分,看此閒,不須一箭過重關,堂堂便是長安道,J29nB222_p0015b14趁柳尋華白晝閒。
龍城又示眾:「有時一棒向活路上尋死人;有時J29nB222_p0015b16一棒向死路上尋活人;有時一棒教伊死也死J29nB222_p0015b17不徹、活也活不來,立地恁麼?」
棒頭下下且精明,殺活雙章不著情,分明一一重拈J29nB222_p0015b19出,不是五千舊葛藤。

J29nB222_p0018b02師諱圓䂐,字字水,鐵龍其別號也。漢太師譙周之後。J29nB222_p0018b03家安漢岳池羊山下。父聖功,母楊氏。生明萬曆乙巳J29nB222_p0018b04十月七日,有異兆,人多奇之。五歲入塾,能誦四書,頗J29nB222_p0018b05敦敏。十歲知《春秋》,能文,常喜與僧談。一日,父諧往山J29nB222_p0018b06寺。有僧看經,因問:「看者何書?」曰:「《心經》。」曰:「借覽可乎?」曰:J29nB222_p0018b07「可。」師遂覽。既歎曰:「此聖之至也。」自是以後有出塵之J29nB222_p0018b08意,而不敢𣊡告於親友。年十三,將為納聘,乃惟曰:「塵J29nB222_p0018b09網恢恢,不裂之於此日,而後欲解亦難也。」因見有衲J29nB222_p0018b10憩樹下,而貌高古不類庸僧,乃問:「師欲何之?」衲不對,J29nB222_p0018b11負囊而去。師雖不聆衲語,而心切慕之。一夜不樂,黎J29nB222_p0018b12明即逸去。氐渝,追衲不及,急出峽,造江陵,遍謁名勝。J29nB222_p0018b13忽見衲於千佛菴,急前揖曰:「師識弟子不?樹閒一別J29nB222_p0018b14兩月逾矣!」衲驚且詰曰:「少年欲何事而遠涉邪?」曰:「乞J29nB222_p0018b15師剃度。」納憫而收之。衲諱德崇,字大悟,是師從舅氏J29nB222_p0018b16也。既脫白,勤習經律,而同列沙彌雖前十臘,不如師J29nB222_p0018b17一歲學也。年十五,聞江浙講席半為蜀人,欲往參學,J29nB222_p0018b18白本師,本師聽而遣之。由衡廬達建業,過武林,不入J29nB222_p0018b19越歲,經旨遠造,一時諸師莫不嘉歎。忽動省親之想,J29nB222_p0018b20買歸櫂到江陵謁本師而後還蜀,則親已逝矣!明年,J29nB222_p0018b21往嘉州禮峨嵋,复欲下楚道梁山會明法師,與之論J29nB222_p0018b22《法華》有契,留住分座說法。明法師臘尊學博,學者罕J29nB222_p0018b23有契,而一見即許之,足見師之所造也。年二十五,開J29nB222_p0018b24縣有知微、雲波者,仝瑞環陳公、星拱黃公,訝師大覺J29nB222_p0018b25講《楞嚴》,自此則新寧之牛山、達州之黃龍皆師法席J29nB222_p0018b26矣!崇禎壬申,棲靈寺成,眾以為非師莫主,公書迎師。J29nB222_p0018b27師既居之,常閱《五鐙》,見德山、圓寤皆是法師,遂欲罷J29nB222_p0018b28席叩宗旨於吳越,忽聞破山老人自嘉禾還蜀,在梁J29nB222_p0018b29山太平又見提唱語,頗信服。時有僧坐僧堂前,師過J29nB222_p0018b30都不視之,師疑而邀入問焉!僧曰:「某自浙來,以天童J29nB222_p0018c01衣缽在蜀,固欲見破和尚耳!」師疾與之諧往。既至,見J29nB222_p0018c02方丈,長揖不拜。明日平上堂,舉「德山見龍潭語」示之,J29nB222_p0018c03師芒然不知是義所在。平召入室夜坐,不覺論之久,J29nB222_p0018c04侍僧曰:「只一法師,而費此商量何也?」平曰:「是玉不可J29nB222_p0018c05不琢。」越十日,襄香上方丈問:「佛說上中下修,未審修J29nB222_p0018c06箇甚麼?」平曰:「修即不無,女且明道眼著。」又問:「如何是J29nB222_p0018c07成佛根本?」平曰:「父母未生前薦取。」師曰:「某到此不會。」J29nB222_p0018c08平曰:「向此著力好。」時四方多故,而楚兵又將入蜀,因J29nB222_p0018c09辭隱開縣之九龍山。居一載,疑情愈重,再往見平請J29nB222_p0018c10益工夫。平曰:「工夫不到不方圓,著實理會去。」及平遷J29nB222_p0018c11中慶,師又往見之,求入堂,平不許,師曰:「此回如不得J29nB222_p0018c12入路,誓不出。」平然之。一日,聞維那月竹舟師說:「前有J29nB222_p0018c13僧入堂,三日有省。」師被此語激發,頓不知工夫之切J29nB222_p0018c14密而癡絕者三七日,因竺微泰師一喝,而師之桶底J29nB222_p0018c15脫也。走上方丈見平,平上下顧曰:「者是甚麼所在?」師J29nB222_p0018c16曰:「者箇所在不可說。」平曰:「你者說底聻?」師一喝便出,J29nB222_p0018c17平隨落堂。師問:「盡大地是一眼時如何?」平便打,師喝。J29nB222_p0018c18平曰:「再試喝看。」師云:「知音不在頻頻舉。」平曰:「伎死只J29nB222_p0018c19如此。」師曰:「再有絕伎作麼生?」平曰:「重言不當吃。」師曰:J29nB222_p0018c20「伎倆盡時諸念盡,猶來何處不稱尊?」平曰:「去年有供J29nB222_p0018c21養,沒人還飯錢;今年有人還飯錢,又沒人供養。」師拍J29nB222_p0018c22一拍,平便歸方丈。西堂珽師曰:「大慧十八寤,公得頭J29nB222_p0018c23一寤。」師作〈偈〉見意曰:「迷則千差,寤則不別,十聖三賢,J29nB222_p0018c24繫驢之橛。」一日,平上堂,師出拍兩拍便𢍏卻席,平便J29nB222_p0018c25下座。師呈〈偈〉曰:「當場一語絕家私,此意須還父子知,J29nB222_p0018c26自是旁人空著眼,徒勞歎息鐵師兒。」平曰:「卻似有箇J29nB222_p0018c27入路。」師曰:「也不可道別有。」平便打。因看「有句無句,如J29nB222_p0018c28藤倚樹」又似墨黑,乃歎曰:「大慧何人,尚疑到喫飯不J29nB222_p0018c29知舉箸?」因又起疑。後在書記寮偶與人語,忽然冰釋,J29nB222_p0018c30上方丈見平,適平在火盧上,便拈火柴頭打出。師之J29nB222_p0019a01有所得,心伏不住而歡喜踊躍,作歌詞偈句不知竟J29nB222_p0019a02幾千也。一日過河口,忽念「木人夜半穿靴」之語,而一J29nB222_p0019a03旦平妥,如雲出岫、似鳥飛空,絕無管待。閱五家宗旨J29nB222_p0019a04如子猷青[毛*詹],實我家故物也。平,常書法語付師,其略J29nB222_p0019a05曰:「字水䂐公,得得破家散宅,來入者保社,捉余腳手,J29nB222_p0019a06大放憨睡。饑餐渴飲,盡是本地風光;啄唾掉臂,全章J29nB222_p0019a07殺活機柄」云云,乃以師為西堂。平應棲靈請,師亦在J29nB222_p0019a08焉!及平住祥符,師遣人上書論「有鼻孔無鼻孔」往還J29nB222_p0019a09三次,又常擊碎茶桮驗事堅固,則師之所造非淺,故J29nB222_p0019a10沒量居士啟云:「三書扭折鼻孔,曾當場法戰古錐;一J29nB222_p0019a11掌擊碎茶桮,輒尋常勘驗衲子。」盍本諸此也。其後師J29nB222_p0019a12與破雪諸公祝平四十,平屬師與雪公共廣化門。雪J29nB222_p0019a13回渝之西湖,師還夔之臥龍,將尋亮座主之山而為J29nB222_p0019a14隱遯之計,年三十三矣!
新寧士大夫高師德風,以師J29nB222_p0019a15名白郡,請出世於城西之指月,師幡然行曰:「吾不為J29nB222_p0019a16而誰為?」於是歸者如市,即士大夫願假擇木堂講明J29nB222_p0019a17此道者亦百人焉!由是漢豐之棲靈、江陵之天皇、慈J29nB222_p0019a18利之華嚴、澧州之藥山、新寧之廣福,不十年則六坐J29nB222_p0019a19道場矣!師說法有古德之風,故其上堂,如:「蝴蜨生枯J29nB222_p0019a20樁,千古之常事;指物與傳心,早落第二義。」又如「遊龍J29nB222_p0019a21峰頂,猿鳥啼不二之圓音;指月竿頭,青冥𣊡無聞之J29nB222_p0019a22般若。」又如「認著是,痛與一頓;不認著是,亦痛與一頓。J29nB222_p0019a23昨見孤鴻塞北歸,足邊繫得安南信。」又如「秋色入慈J29nB222_p0019a24昜,天門山色換;樓頭梧葉飄,有眼如不見。」又如「一浦J29nB222_p0019a25雲煙,萬井冰雪,玉樓人睡不知天曉;瓊樹鳥啼不知J29nB222_p0019a26晴明。」又如「鵝城峰碧,牛山岫青,不是古佛蠃髻,亦非J29nB222_p0019a27諸聖頂門。昨夜文殊、普賢疑到五更,及至醒將起來,J29nB222_p0019a28依舊可憐生」之類。他如「開堂日,沒量張公居士請書J29nB222_p0019a29雲堂額,師曰:『攃佛處。』以衣袖左右撝曰:『山川也是!草J29nB222_p0019a30木也是!』」及四禪、四眼問答之類種種施設,若非深造J29nB222_p0019b01遠蹈,安能如此直截痛快乎?即廁之雪竇、真淨、松源、J29nB222_p0019b02天目、雪巖、高峰之閒,則亦伯仲焉爾!
師重道好德,不J29nB222_p0019b03噬利、不榮名,暑寒一衲、飲食一缽,即錢穀如山、錦繡J29nB222_p0019b04如市都不經眼,故凡師之及門,莫不以清白為行。所J29nB222_p0019b05以師在棲靈日,有僧名全心者來,遺金三十,頑石矩J29nB222_p0019b06公拾得,當白,眾無認識者。全五日後方覺,來白師,師J29nB222_p0019b07曰:「在某處。」矩出金,原封未解。又笑月初公往淨土寺,J29nB222_p0019b08拾金五十,歸白,師曰:「此必商賈所遺也,初當候而還J29nB222_p0019b09之。」兩日後,其人來,倉皇之極,口數曰:「有死而已。」初詰J29nB222_p0019b10之,其人曰:「兩日前遺下白金,是貸以糴米者,某家寒,J29nB222_p0019b11將何以償?」言畢大慟。初曰:「無啼,金在我處。」遂出而還J29nB222_p0019b12之。其人曰:「生我之恩逾於父母。」跽謝而去。如非師之J29nB222_p0019b13好義,何能感及門清淨若此?則是師之皇皇德業,而J29nB222_p0019b14揆筆舌何能殫述焉?吾蜀父老亦能道之,常曰:「為佛J29nB222_p0019b15祖兒孫如吾臥龍老人,可謂不忝也。」
毅廟甲申閒,殺J29nB222_p0019b16僇之痛、焚燒之憯,無寸土乾淨。師諧五七人避之方J29nB222_p0019b17城、避之九龍、避之萬峰,未七月日,而二郡三十縣,人J29nB222_p0019b18與物無有矣!師以昔年參方,勇不避暑溼,惟以佛法J29nB222_p0019b19因緣在意,不覺成患而損一足,此時履動非馬即輿,J29nB222_p0019b20故不能遠去萬里外逃此大劫,乃於新寧之廣福為J29nB222_p0019b21戎壘所有。幸師德聲素來遠播,雖持兵者亦知有師,J29nB222_p0019b22競來禮拜奉以淨食并乞師懺罪,師盡陳以罪福、忠J29nB222_p0019b23孝之事。皆曰:「吾屬本國家赤子,安能萌此不軌之心J29nB222_p0019b24乎?此李某、張某陷吾屬於此,奈何?」師益就此指之導J29nB222_p0019b25之,故殺僇少貸,吾仝袍之釋子亦賴此得免十一,其J29nB222_p0019b26來集之及門,亦如臥龍時無減。此十二月十八日也。J29nB222_p0019b27明年,迻營梁山,師目此竟非沙門所安。二月二十七J29nB222_p0019b28告眾曰:「吾自為僧以來,不受不義之衣食,況戈戟中J29nB222_p0019b29吾豈樂乎?自今日始勿進飲食,來月朔吾當出營矣!」J29nB222_p0019b30營之愚者聞師言,恐失師,皆防之。至朔之子,喚侍者J29nB222_p0019c01張鐙謂曰:「女為道,其努力之,吾以此時別女矣。」侍者J29nB222_p0019c02求偈,師書數偈與之。又曰:「徐護法為師之重,獨不留J29nB222_p0019c03一面乎?且坐脫亦化人之一助?」因勸請。至午,徐率眾J29nB222_p0019c04至,求說法,師忻然上堂,說法畢,端坐而逝,實乙卯三J29nB222_p0019c05月朔日也。留五日始茶毗。其營中慕師者,皆持緞帛J29nB222_p0019c06及沈水等香,競投薪中以表敬。及收骨,得五色設利J29nB222_p0019c07若干,人皆爭拾之。骨臧梁山金城之西,胡氏萬松菴J29nB222_p0019c08後,自此遐邇皆曰:「有佛矣!」師世壽四十有一,臘二十J29nB222_p0019c09有八。室中親印弟子,大儀誰公等七人,居士沒量等J29nB222_p0019c10十人、婆子明玅等五人,其受化獲益者千萬有餘。師J29nB222_p0019c11語錄,初,誰公裒刻於棲靈者八卷;次,亮公裒刻於藥J29nB222_p0019c12山者又八卷;次,矩公收全錄裒刻於臥龍者總二十J29nB222_p0019c13卷。今刻於黔南者,璧侍者囊中所存數篇,非師全璧J29nB222_p0019c14焉!烏乎!師為一大時宗匠,道沖德備,嘉言懿行,揆焉J29nB222_p0019c15能詳述𣊡揚於天下,使仝事之人知師之所造乎?揆J29nB222_p0019c16懼湮沒,乃不過狀其人所共見,俟大手筆為師作塔J29nB222_p0019c17銘者有所考。

僧祇一片苦心腸,展手纔堪示四方,若是獨尊天地J29nB222_p0014c13事,不須扶過祖師堂。
