熊之可之奇之京請為胡縣君對靈小參師拈J29nB222_p0008a05第一第二總不足論此是象山縣君生平底付與沒J29nB222_p0008a06量居士拈出。」宣畢師云:「縣君早修淨業持誦佛母準J29nB222_p0008a07晚自知非深究正法眼臧乃於今年遣人求指訣J29nB222_p0008a08因教看箇不是心不是佛是箇甚麼?』由是力參者三J29nB222_p0008a09七日忽然心識不行言思路絕將座鐵山撞倒笑曰J29nB222_p0008a10范縣君道:「元來恁麼近。」今果然!』縣君病革召仲君平J29nB222_p0008a11原謂曰:『女為吾報師恩德。』言訖自在而脫大眾縣君J29nB222_p0008a12如是得不為長君孔原等慶幸乎雖然正恁麼時J29nB222_p0008a13何是縣君暢快一句脫體頓超名相外一彈指頃去J29nB222_p0008a14來今。」

明道黃道婆請為星拱黃映宿居士對靈小參師拈J29nB222_p0008a27拄杖指云:「見麼星拱黃君其未死也常聽我打葛藤J29nB222_p0008a28其既死也亦聽我打葛藤何也盍崇禎庚午閒入我J29nB222_p0008a29大覺法中究心楞嚴少有入路十年於茲遂成莫逆J29nB222_p0008a30自吾觀之實非一生兩生結就者也又常重建棲靈J29nB222_p0008b01梵剎欲期仝住忽一旦攃手而去豈复嫌於久住令J29nB222_p0008b02人賤頻來親也疏也邪雖然佛祖不傳之事猶未指J29nB222_p0008b03破在。」复拈杖指云:「星拱黃君即爾儒者身身無其身J29nB222_p0008b04即爾菩薩形形無其形虛空仝體世界浮雲生死晝J29nB222_p0008b05形骸旅亭其來也電光爍爍其去也石火騰騰J29nB222_p0008b06見仝人作來去原原委委亙常存。」時道婆歛手云:「J29nB222_p0008b07!」師云:「作甚麼?」婆云:「為他黃君摘楊華。」師便下座

熊止白居士請為余道婆小參乃云:「止白得為吾徒J29nB222_p0008b09爾亦得為吾徒止白吸盡香水海爾方跳上須彌盧。」J29nB222_p0008b10顧左右云:「者話且置如何是道婆得力句自從埽去J29nB222_p0008b11雲空翳一月千江總自如。」

張道婆請為通碧徐道臣對靈小參:「者漢方脫卻J29nB222_p0008b13鶻臭布縿炙脂帽子便解向官潭渡裏泛石龍船J29nB222_p0008b14逍遙遙歌滄浪弄明月與性空仝游去也山僧也有J29nB222_p0008b15首歌曲為伊助喜。」遂云:「知音人知音人流水高山共J29nB222_p0008b16此心石印寺前重論舊鳳凰山下語猶深折蘆葉J29nB222_p0008b17秋會斷送孤帆白晝雲。」喝一喝:「低聲低聲!」

小參:「如何是西來大意?」師云:「江村漁火發照見夜J29nB222_p0008b19行舟。」乃云:「但盡凡心別無聖解山僧看來卻又不然J29nB222_p0008b20未知有底礦中有金既知有底金中有礦所以道:『J29nB222_p0008b21事未明如喪考妣大事已明如喪考妣。』莫道不知有J29nB222_p0008b22底如此即知有底愈要精進除去無始劫來妄業流J29nB222_p0008b23始有契證時節雖然當又知我宗無語句亦無一J29nB222_p0008b24法與人須是自家屋裏拈出始得盍天盍地不然J29nB222_p0008b25有事在。」

小參。「放下著莫妄想如今坐立儼然作麼生放下J29nB222_p0008b27是內六根外六塵中六識一齊放下麼僧問趙州:『J29nB222_p0008b28物不將來時如何?』州云:『放下著。』僧於此寤去大眾J29nB222_p0008b29便是放下底樣子雖然不可便作容易只須去盡無J29nB222_p0008b30始壅塞及見前流識使胸中七穴八穿蕩蕩地灑灑J29nB222_p0008c01無事無為真正道人然後乃已不爾都無利益J29nB222_p0008c02以道:『割髮須及膚翦叉宜侵體。』」

除日小參。「學道人非一做便休須是切之又切乃能J29nB222_p0008c04窮高極深古人在叢林久經磨洒然後雖住得箇院J29nB222_p0008c05人猶譏為離師太早盍在師邊住一日有一日警J29nB222_p0008c06故從上以今日為警策謂一年十二月於今是盡J29nB222_p0008c07一月三十日於今是盡日所以鞭策道流回光自J29nB222_p0008c08若不如此光會可惜兄弟也有遠來者也有近來J29nB222_p0008c09仝山僧打者鼓笛須要一番磨洒一番光明始不J29nB222_p0008c10負初心不爾於事何益?」

小參。「山僧尋常有一機不與諸佛共不與祖師共J29nB222_p0008c12與天下老和尚共且道與誰共有定奪得者不妨出J29nB222_p0008c13來相見如無山僧自道去也今夜且燒舊臘火來朝J29nB222_p0008c14相賀新年人。」

小參。「今之參禪學道工夫不得力此事不得明無他J29nB222_p0008c16盍為去不下身心自生愛染放不下家緣自起繫念J29nB222_p0008c17繫念起則好食戀衣愛染生則貪生畏死所以不能J29nB222_p0008c18自在而生死際頭亦不得力此之過也兄弟家既辦J29nB222_p0008c19翀霄志來者裏仝甘澹泊共守清貧須是把生死念J29nB222_p0008c20頭密密舉起切切窮去窮到心識不行言思路絕J29nB222_p0008c21待倒斷而自倒斷矣!」

小參。「若論本分接人何須擔枷帶丑無奈今時弊病J29nB222_p0008c23頗多師家亦只得隨例起倒道箇此事不從佛祖經J29nB222_p0008c24書邊得不從他人口嘴邊得不從靜悄地裏得不從J29nB222_p0008c25鬧轟地裏得但除去見聞覺知屏卻咽喉脣吻見得J29nB222_p0008c26分曉自然不動干戈太平坐致不然還須把不明不J29nB222_p0008c27會底做箇生法身父母長道德聖胎或行或坐必要J29nB222_p0008c28覷透根源如縣嵒上撲地一驚始可謂罷參絕學真J29nB222_p0008c29正道人。」

小參。「囊留螢火鑿壁引光世出世雖不仝向上心一J29nB222_p0009a01棲靈門下既有鐙又有燭參玄上士須著猛力J29nB222_p0009a02大事未明祖意未透著實參究究到無可究處自然J29nB222_p0009a03蕩豁可謂冷灰裏有粒豆爆枯木上有支華發豈不J29nB222_p0009a04是衲僧家生平慶幸邪天寒勿勞久立。」

小參僧問:「如何是五宗仝道一句?」師云:「棲靈寺外諸J29nB222_p0009a06峰秀臨水江頭一月明。」「如何是五宗別開一句?」師云J29nB222_p0009a07江清河濁流今昔岷嶺梁山別一宗。」僧喝師便打J29nB222_p0009a08:「春色晴明佛祖體露秋聲送雨衲僧命門者裏辦J29nB222_p0009a09得分明尚無入路何況者裏未曾發足大眾你道如J29nB222_p0009a10何是究竟一路處處子規啼不盡家家月色照無聊。」

小參僧問:「師唱誰家曲宗風嗣阿誰?」師云:「頭頂黃河J29nB222_p0009a12尾氐江。」僧云:「才挽雕弓意喊聲便震天。」師云:「彈子出J29nB222_p0009a13紅盧闍黎一命殞。」僧便喝師打乃云:「放開一步步步J29nB222_p0009a14登高把住一頭頭頭無路所以盡十方界只得無取J29nB222_p0009a15無舍始是佛祖轉身一路若不如此徒勞擔囊負缽J29nB222_p0009a16走東適西有甚飽參時節大眾我廣福圜制之時J29nB222_p0009a17以此進女大眾若女大眾的欲明此一段大事當須J29nB222_p0009a18究竟不可以少為足古人三二十年始成道業豈欺J29nB222_p0009a19我哉珍重!」

晚參。「此事不論僧之與俗貴之與賤都行得只是思J29nB222_p0009a22慮太過不能當下領取如家居者治生遂又慮子J29nB222_p0009a23子孫羅列又慮科目科目登又慮名爵名爵既J29nB222_p0009a24極而世間事畢矣方欲求免生死則頭白齒黃惡有J29nB222_p0009a25餘年可進此道邪如不家居者欲研四諦至滅道可J29nB222_p0009a26已又思十二緣至還滅盡又思萬行至三觀尚矣J29nB222_p0009a27又思正覺至正覺方觀從前事業終是階級建化門J29nB222_p0009a28邊事惡有頓超之理兄弟總不如向者裏盍卻始得J29nB222_p0009a29疌徑。」

晚參。「山僧有三轉語垂問大眾切須子細此事元來J29nB222_p0009b01見成何須別用工夫不用工夫如何得見成去有時J29nB222_p0009b02節要人作佛祖有時節不要人作佛祖者老漢是甚J29nB222_p0009b03麼心行至道無難唯嫌柬擇是何人語若道山僧J29nB222_p0009b04負祖師若道祖師又成柬擇。」

晚參。「兄弟家都是多歷江湖久參上士不可只見一J29nB222_p0009b06橛便謂禽縱殺活我已透得古人常言:『大事已明J29nB222_p0009b07喪考妣。』況未明大事即作自足想邪何不趁此色力J29nB222_p0009b08百尺竿頭快須進步忽然虛空粉碎是時不待罷參J29nB222_p0009b09而自罷參矣!」

晚參拈拄杖召眾云:「有麼?」有僧便喝師打云:「者樣底J29nB222_p0009b11有甚交涉今日不許喝豎拳豎指左右旋女人拜J29nB222_p0009b12種盡是學來底只須別道始得既道不得何不精進J29nB222_p0009b13不見古人四十年不雜用心除二時鬻飯是雜用心J29nB222_p0009b14又不見只愁不是佛是佛何愁不解語邪?」

晚參舉德山和尚住後因緣驀顧左右大罵云:「看者J29nB222_p0009b16桼桶把佛祖欺迕只當笈中物可惜當日仝事者不J29nB222_p0009b17肯左袒佛祖令伊肆意獨邁高風今七百年來亦未J29nB222_p0009b18有為佛祖雪屈者山僧雖生晚季必不私徇要為干J29nB222_p0009b19城啟闢徽猷胡不思先佛天人莫上眾聖中尊豈可J29nB222_p0009b20欺迕當物看乎祖師直指人心見性成佛亦可欺迕J29nB222_p0009b21當物看乎?」复顧左右云:「兄弟還甘此說麼若甘德山J29nB222_p0009b22放行早已不甘佛祖過在甚麼處?」有僧出師打云:「J29nB222_p0009b23是不是!」又僧出師亦打云:「不是不是!」一眾芒然莫識J29nB222_p0009b24師意從此內外脅不至席矣

晚參。「丈夫眉宇不作跛驢為甚透脫不得?」有僧以腳J29nB222_p0009b26打地師打兩棒云:「做甚麼?」僧才開口師复打云:「問意J29nB222_p0009b27有宗畣意攸仝是女亂做得麼且者學得底濟事不J29nB222_p0009b28。」又有僧從東過西師亦打:「者桼桶華嚴門下J29nB222_p0009b29來祖來一驗骨出鐵額銅頭不敢跨門況女溺床鬼J29nB222_p0009b30子欲逞神通邪?」又打兩棒

晚參。「山僧學道二十餘年末上向萬峰山頂見箇無J29nB222_p0009c02面孔老師被他朝打三千莫打八百逼得到千里萬J29nB222_p0009c03里無我無人冷清清地忽地醒來。」乃舉杖云:「拾得者J29nB222_p0009c04箇喚作佛法從巴蜀歷荊楚也曾拈示於人只是無J29nB222_p0009c05人證據如今藥山寺裏新開盧韝也拈示於人亦無J29nB222_p0009c06人證據夜裏忽爾傷風出气不得衲被蒙頭悶得通J29nB222_p0009c07身汗滴天明剛才蘇息又被人問著山僧無可措手。」J29nB222_p0009c08复舉杖云:「又只得將者箇拈示切勿道夜來傷風J29nB222_p0009c09猶噴嚏在何也者箇千聖不能傳乾坤包不得通身J29nB222_p0009c10是手眼亦少覷著者兄弟明見是箇拄杖不從南山J29nB222_p0009c11便是北山出因甚道千聖不能傳乾坤包不得J29nB222_p0009c12見是箇拄杖長則長五尺渾身似桼黑因甚道通身J29nB222_p0009c13是手眼亦少覷著者者裏有具眼底出來道看!」

晚參。「此段大事就在諸人經行打坐處討取自是分J29nB222_p0009c15行時討取行底是甚麼坐時討取坐底是甚麼J29nB222_p0009c16行一坐通身討取是甚麼如是討取則行住坐臥J29nB222_p0009c17法頭頭自然綿密誠能爾者必有倒斷時節東院云J29nB222_p0009c18一生不離叢林十年五載不語無人喚伊作啞漢。』J29nB222_p0009c19欺人哉?」

晚參。「一口气不來畢竟向甚麼處去此博山大師語J29nB222_p0009c21兄弟家將此一句頓在面前行也此一句坐也此J29nB222_p0009c22一句行住坐臥通身此一句如是則手中掜著此一J29nB222_p0009c23腳底蹋著此一句眼中覷著此一句耳裏聽著此J29nB222_p0009c24一句鼻頭嗅著此一句牙關咬著此一句未常少閒J29nB222_p0009c25未常少歇欲登佛祖階亦何難也只是兄弟家不能J29nB222_p0009c26信去山僧昔年將謂此老魔魅人今日看來何等見J29nB222_p0009c27何等簡易兄弟家記取記取!」

晚參舉龐居士神通玅用運水般柴」,:「只如早J29nB222_p0009c29上般柴時還得神通麼兄弟家如不會不免從頭註J29nB222_p0009c30。『日用事無別』」師云:「還須知有。『惟吾自偶諧』」師云:「J29nB222_p0010a01。『頭頭非取舍』」師云:「是箇甚麼?『處處勿張乖』」J29nB222_p0010a02:「要且不識渠。『朱紫誰為號』」師云:「任從滄海變。『丘山J29nB222_p0010a03絕點埃』」師云:「光景中死漢。『神通與玅用』」師云:「你試道J29nB222_p0010a04!『運水及般柴』」師云:「三生六十劫山僧如此且道是J29nB222_p0010a05肯老龐不肯老龐各請下一轉語。」

住指月禪寺到院日示眾:「此是沒量大人J29nB222_p0010a08佛祖百千三昧總向不律頭上露出倘不會知事宣J29nB222_p0010a09。」乃云:「山中斫柴澗下取水自是住山本分何故卻J29nB222_p0010a10來者裏揭佛祖標格用開盧鉗鎚鼓得三百五百J29nB222_p0010a11叢林中鬧浩浩地?」良久云:「只因使符逼非是彊出來。」J29nB222_p0010a12下座

示眾。「惡池見僧便喝只在舌上用得武陵見僧便棒J29nB222_p0010a14只在手裏用得何似山僧全體用得?」顧左右云:「且那J29nB222_p0010a15裏是全體用得處?」時維那云:「請歸方丈與和尚道!」J29nB222_p0010a16:「歸方丈即不無要且不見全體用得處。」時又有沒J29nB222_p0010a17量居士從東過西從西過東云:「當甚破艸鞋?」止白居J29nB222_p0010a18士拂袖便出白拈居士喝一喝玄倩居士便掀倒禪J29nB222_p0010a19床退身三步師云:「千般萬般即不無要且不見全體J29nB222_p0010a20用得處。」

示眾。「大凡演唱宗乘須具金剛眼擇法眼透關眼J29nB222_p0010a22宗眼具此四眼始可用劍刃上事坐曲彔床有麼J29nB222_p0010a23?」僧便問:「如何是金剛眼?」師云:「燒眼非關日精靈絕J29nB222_p0010a24景相。」「如何是擇法眼?」師云:「淘沙赤金出漫謂白銅仝。」J29nB222_p0010a25如何是透關眼?」師云:「千重無留礙急水打毛毬。」「如何J29nB222_p0010a26是超宗眼?」師云:「上得瞿塘峽始見眾山低。」

示眾。「諸方在浩浩裏傳持藥山在物物上建立所以J29nB222_p0010a28在西蜀即說西蜀底法在楚澧即說楚澧底法大眾J29nB222_p0010a29西蜀且止你道楚澧江南江北甚麼處是法莫是艸J29nB222_p0010a30木叢林僧俗男女是法邪料掉沒交涉莫是風雲雨J29nB222_p0010b01日月寒暑是法邪料掉沒交涉莫是前堂後殿J29nB222_p0010b02庫寮房是法邪料掉沒交涉莫是鐙籠露柱瓦塊磚J29nB222_p0010b03頭是法邪料掉沒交涉莫是樹支子搖牛尾巴動是J29nB222_p0010b04法邪料掉沒交涉大眾畢竟在甚麼處道道看!」

示眾。「山僧者裏有時是水上葫蘆禪有時是日中寶J29nB222_p0010b06石禪有時是色裏膠青禪有時是水中鹽味禪女等J29nB222_p0010b07合作麼生會?」僧出問:「如何是水上葫蘆禪?」師云:「才欲J29nB222_p0010b08進前看轉便舉頭早已失來蹤。」「如何是日中寶石禪?」J29nB222_p0010b09師云:「新出河山光爛熳燒空灼地景微微。」「如何是色J29nB222_p0010b10裏膠青禪?」師云:「分明漢上無雲物比擬來時翳眼睛。」J29nB222_p0010b11如何是水中鹽味禪?」師云:「晉人有舌應難辨付與多J29nB222_p0010b12情石女兒。」

示眾。「我此大眾江湖散人聽吾偈句以為道根不可J29nB222_p0010b14放縱不可死心不可妄想不可執情不可四顧不可J29nB222_p0010b15合睛不可妄不可別尋不可憎愛不可無明不可J29nB222_p0010b16自欺不可非人不可不說不可動脣不可執坐不可J29nB222_p0010b17長行不可繫念不可起瞋無利益事決不可行豪釐J29nB222_p0010b18若犯打出山門。」

示眾。「淨如珠清如水明如鏡煇如星皎如月杲如日J29nB222_p0010b20厚如地大如天虛如空深如海今之人不惟不能洞J29nB222_p0010b21不能深遠不能光明不能皎潔且不識自心在甚J29nB222_p0010b22麼處是箇甚麼近有一夥識神之徒升在高座被人J29nB222_p0010b23逼著便胡言漢語非打即喝幾曾夢見臨濟德山竟J29nB222_p0010b24界來及乎教除去者伎倆更與相見必也眼瞠瞠地J29nB222_p0010b25似箇卜卦底見神見鬼可憐生胡不聞:『語不驚人J29nB222_p0010b26莫開口不識真人毋認識神之誡歟珍重!」

埽龍潭信祖塔示眾。「擎茶奉餅天王時底事分明敢J29nB222_p0010b28自欺今日艸人變色椎胸更去告阿誰?」顧左右云J29nB222_p0010b29為甚如此虛空休掘洞平地起孤𠂤。」

示眾。「吾昔侍萬峰時與象巖破雪諸人作偈頌比被J29nB222_p0010c01老人訶罵即自知非今諸人入來未經一月便欲逞J29nB222_p0010c02才作偈得不為眾中糟粕邪如禁而不止病在膏肓J29nB222_p0010c03難以救治。」

示眾。「高高峰頂立深深海底行你道是甚麼人竟界J29nB222_p0010c05知與師齊減師半德知過於師方堪相授如今學人J29nB222_p0010c06才向門牆邊張一張便開口說是說非此等人佛謂J29nB222_p0010c07之可憐憫者閻羅王殿前依舊汗下何益也不如做J29nB222_p0010c08到佛祖田地出來說兩句光揚祖道豈不謂之丈夫J29nB222_p0010c09也哉若是光景中門牆上識得些子便作者般蟲豸J29nB222_p0010c10不惟不能為人亦且箭折弓殘於人矣!」時有張沒量J29nB222_p0010c11向前作掌埶師云:「放女三十棒。」士禮拜而去

示眾。「莫妄想見山見水是箇甚麼?」眾目定動師喝云J29nB222_p0010c13者裏那有閒飯養你者死獃禪和?」棒便打眾淚下J29nB222_p0010c14師云:「會即會淚甚麼?」复打板頭一棒:「將頭不猛J29nB222_p0010c15及三軍。」

因事示眾。「昔在中慶萬峰時知事常差負薪汲水J29nB222_p0010c17嵒種石剝筍采茶打碓牽磨知事訶責於時只不與J29nB222_p0010c18之爭然後始得己事了辦兄弟家念生死來此聚首J29nB222_p0010c19即般幾束柴未為分外何小逆竟便打不過如此是J29nB222_p0010c20不能放下無明種子如來訶為可憐憫者不見曹溪J29nB222_p0010c21掌碓雪峰執炊溈山諸老皆出行門豈盡不及兄弟J29nB222_p0010c22即如長老順慶名族縫掖子孫曾二十年苦辛J29nB222_p0010c23亦不及兄弟也快須放下莫慚惶殺人好。」

示眾。「趙州云:『諸方難見易識我者裏易見難識。』天皇J29nB222_p0010c25亦常道:『諸方易見易識我者裏難見難識。』何則不見J29nB222_p0010c26:『佛法不是小事要在做到行到方知受用。』兄弟家J29nB222_p0010c27如欲得者箇受用用心須是微細綿密不可因循J29nB222_p0010c28用心細自然日劫相倍用心密亦自然日劫相倍J29nB222_p0010c29謂生死心切向上心堅自然日劫相倍兄弟家肯依J29nB222_p0010c30此言必也窮高極遠透徹精微發用闊大語句驚群J29nB222_p0011a01雖然猶有一機尚要會在。」
