諸大德既來這裡相從貧道參禪究明生死須依貧J25nB159_p0137a05道家風行持他後決不相賺各各俱要屏息身心諸J25nB159_p0137a06緣一心向道追復百丈前釋迦老子所行頭陀之J25nB159_p0137a07是謂家風此之苦行頭陀經中具載請自檢看J25nB159_p0137a08雖今人難比古人且請於中行得一半庶亦得沾頭J25nB159_p0137a09陀苦行之少分矣不可似今時學者全不問著甘作J25nB159_p0137a10無慚愧人佛法驢年會得只如世尊當時饑則領眾J25nB159_p0137a11持缽入城乞食歸則各處岩穴之間後趙州諗和尚J25nB159_p0137a12三十年不開口告人不雜用心匾擔山和尚唯餐橡J25nB159_p0137a13栗過日丹霞然和尚一生只個布衲更看芙蓉楷和J25nB159_p0137a14尚不發疏簿不請化主一生唯事澹泊此諸尊宿俱J25nB159_p0137a15是行頭陀行家風所以一箇箇魁壘秀出於當時J25nB159_p0137a16千古之下為世所尊諸大德若依此苦行行持久之J25nB159_p0137a17不移不易則僧問:「如何是佛?」雲門道:「乾屎橛。」管取呵J25nB159_p0137a18呵大笑時有僧問:「如何是和尚家風?」荅曰::「前江潮急J25nB159_p0137a19魚行澀後嶺松高鳥泊難。」下座

上堂僧問:「昔高峰和尚示眾云:『海底泥牛啣月走J25nB159_p0137a21前石虎抱兒眠鐵蛇鑽人金剛眼崑崙騎象鷺鷥牽J25nB159_p0137a22此四句內有一句能殺能活能縱能奪若人檢點得J25nB159_p0137a23許你一生參學事畢。』不知是那一句?」師云:「待你悟J25nB159_p0137a24即向你道會麼?」僧云:「不會。」師云:「不見道:『你有拄杖子J25nB159_p0137a25我與你拄杖子你無拄杖子我奪卻你拄杖子。』」下座

徒悟權等焚香拜跪云:「弟子德深等實為生死事大J25nB159_p0137a28無常迅速特來禮拜和尚請益如何修行得脫生死J25nB159_p0137a29輪迴?」師云:「諸大德既來相從惟我此間又非唱導之J25nB159_p0137a30建立門戶為人處無非平實商量做工夫捷徑處J25nB159_p0137b01彼此相依於三間茅屋之下草衣木食追慕百丈J25nB159_p0137b02前真風不學今時體態只貴真參實究證到古人田J25nB159_p0137b03地而後捨此非吾之所為也今日事不獲只得J25nB159_p0137b04將自昔年親證底一則無字公案開示諸大德J25nB159_p0137b05果欲脫生死輪迴先須發大信心立弘誓願拼從今J25nB159_p0137b06身未悟之先莫退菩提道心莫改修行節操若不打J25nB159_p0137b07破這則所參公案洞見父母未生前面目坐斷微J25nB159_p0137b08細現行生死誓不中途而廢放捨本參話頭遠離真J25nB159_p0137b09善知識若故違此願當墮惡道受無量苦發此大願J25nB159_p0137b10防護其心然後方堪領荷公案昔日東普師翁并先J25nB159_p0137b11師和尚初發心時俱發大誓願云:『若我退失道心遠J25nB159_p0137b12離話頭生害脫皮癩現諸人眼目死墮無間地獄J25nB159_p0137b13無量苦因。』作此願勉勵身心精進不怠所以到得這J25nB159_p0137b14般地位現前大眾還肯發願麼?」

眾發願乃付公案J25nB159_p0137b15:「僧問趙州:『狗子還有佛性也無?』州云:『。』疑云蠢動J25nB159_p0137b16含靈皆有佛性因甚狗子無佛性因甚道無趙州意J25nB159_p0137b17作麼生無吽若是宿有靈骨者聞此開發便是撞著J25nB159_p0137b18生死冤家相似就與眉毛廝結憤憤不休直下便明J25nB159_p0137b19白倒斷誠有如是操略於此九旬之內必定被你捉J25nB159_p0137b20敗趙州看破他家好惡處則是入門端的也此則公J25nB159_p0137b21案古人喻如倚天長劍塗毒鼓聲觸之則屍橫萬里J25nB159_p0137b22聞之則魂散九霄雖佛祖到來亦不敢以正眼覷著J25nB159_p0137b23五祖演云:『趙州露刃劍寒霜光燄燄更擬問如何J25nB159_p0137b24身作兩段。』予昔聞此語便疑三十年不敢開口乃有J25nB159_p0137b25開示偈云:『寶劍全提日用中高揮大抹肯從容卷兮J25nB159_p0137b26魂膽迎風喪舒也髑髏遍地橫萬死萬生渾不顧J25nB159_p0137b27鎗一戟便收功趙州性命分明也血刃參天不露鋒。』J25nB159_p0137b28雖然如是猶是半途在若以少為足決定不得到他J25nB159_p0137b29佛祖大休大歇田地

諸大德既為生死事大豈是說J25nB159_p0137b30了便休亦非知了便休須是始終切切拳拳競競業J25nB159_p0137c01如喪考妣廢寢忘餐提持此事方有少分做功夫J25nB159_p0137c02氣象所謂生死大事者自我山僧知有此事行腳J25nB159_p0137c03目擊耳聞無數箇為人天師範說法如雲如雨J25nB159_p0137c04終末後一著腳忙手亂如落湯螃蟹不曾見一箇半J25nB159_p0137c05箇似古人出生入死之自由者豈非生死事大而何J25nB159_p0137c06縱饒精通三藏教背讀五車書到這裡都用不著也J25nB159_p0137c07山僧雖說到此猶恐滑在可畏可畏有志之士得聞J25nB159_p0137c08此說便著精彩看他古人做功夫得何三昧臨行如J25nB159_p0137c09是自由自在不可只似鴨聽雷鳴而

山僧從初學J25nB159_p0137c10道以至於今三十餘年單單在此事上用心尋常東J25nB159_p0137c11考西究窮盡幽微深知弊病乃吾苦口叮嚀汝等J25nB159_p0137c12來若得入頭處切忌草草便去弄虛頭為人之師J25nB159_p0137c13誤人為害非小須效古人且向水邊林下保養聖J25nB159_p0137c14待時龍天推出方可為人則自利利人無往不可J25nB159_p0137c15至囑至囑

且做工夫提話頭一著或看要緊J25nB159_p0137c16在因甚狗子無佛性因甚道無趙州意作麼生無J25nB159_p0137c17竟意作麼生無吽這兩句子上著力或看萬法歸一J25nB159_p0137c18要緊在歸何處一歸何處畢竟一歸何處吽這兩J25nB159_p0137c19三句子上著力或參究念佛要緊在念佛底是誰J25nB159_p0137c20佛底是誰畢竟念佛底是誰吽這兩三句子上著力J25nB159_p0137c21回光返照染下疑情惺惺中卻須寂寂寂寂中卻須J25nB159_p0137c22歷歷若能如是用心不墮昏沉掉舉四魔之中而有J25nB159_p0137c23日益日損之效也或若話頭間斷不得力須抖擻精J25nB159_p0137c24神還提前公案以至末後句子使首尾一貫方始有J25nB159_p0137c25頭緒可致疑也若得疑情不斷便好切切用心如貓J25nB159_p0137c26捕鼠四肢順向首尾一直則不怕甕中走卻鱉也

J25nB159_p0137c27做工夫之人若非做工夫警策語言一切佛祖玄妙J25nB159_p0137c28機緣文字且未可看古人謂滲漏工夫不得成片J25nB159_p0137c29學道正因所以道:『莫將閒學解埋沒祖師心』。又不許J25nB159_p0137c30向意根下卜度又不許向舉起處承當又不許作有J25nB159_p0138a01無之理和會又不許作世法佛法之義摶量又不許J25nB159_p0138a02向一切文字中尋討等閒唐喪光陰到老不得成辦J25nB159_p0138a03唯貴棄捨身世向所參話頭上廝挨立身於萬仞崖J25nB159_p0138a04著腳於千尺竿上不覺舉步翻身打個懸空筋斗J25nB159_p0138a05歸來呵呵大笑那時方可再來喫山僧痛棒久立J25nB159_p0138a06。」

若了自心本來是佛者一切惟假名況復諸三有J25nB159_p0138a09爾於斯直下不能領略別無方便但將吾所付之念J25nB159_p0138a10佛公案用心提撕單單參究以期徹悟精進不懈勇J25nB159_p0138a11猛無怯務要討個明白而後欲上參時先須𢬵J25nB159_p0138a12世間恩愛利名等事使身心灑落虛融澹泊切切以J25nB159_p0138a13了生死大事為重任抖擻精神看這念佛底是誰J25nB159_p0138a14要在這字上著倒深下疑情疑這念佛底是誰J25nB159_p0138a15大疑大悟小疑小悟不疑不悟」,良哉言也

夫欲免生死輪迴須是成佛若不成佛欲免生死輪J25nB159_p0138a25無有是處汝若成佛閻家老子尚無柰你何生死J25nB159_p0138a26輪迴云何哉誠有如是操志先與汝等傳授菩薩戒J25nB159_p0138a27此為成佛之基本然後付與一則參究念佛公案J25nB159_p0138a28須知因戒生定因定生慧禪定智慧持戒為本J25nB159_p0138a29:「眾生受佛戒即入諸佛位」。諸佛位者即戒J25nB159_p0138a30誠能全身放下脫體承當得去成佛即不難也J25nB159_p0138b01見道:「道念若同情念成佛多時」,誠哉斯言盡之矣J25nB159_p0138b02將無始劫來習熟底世間之事放教生疏卻將出世J25nB159_p0138b03間未聞之事行持得純熟自然成就向一切時中提J25nB159_p0138b04起所參話頭念佛三五七聲卻返問念佛底是誰J25nB159_p0138b05佛底是誰畢竟念佛底是誰吽前問念佛底是誰J25nB159_p0138b06骨徹髓見膽見心正是就窠打劫當處發機又問J25nB159_p0138b07竟念佛底是誰卻似痛上加鞭一如喉下一捏便要J25nB159_p0138b08斷人命根若是命根不斷則見理不明須是深下疑J25nB159_p0138b09疑這念佛底是誰綿綿密密挨拶將去如撞著生J25nB159_p0138b10冤家相似直下不能解交憤憤地逼拶得他情窮理J25nB159_p0138b11極意識不行卻似老鼠入牛角底時節一念不生全J25nB159_p0138b12體是佛雖然亦是暫時岐路相逢若便認著則與昨J25nB159_p0138b13日之迷無有異也直待久久純熟打成一片行亦如J25nB159_p0138b14坐亦如是東西不分南北不辨通宵不寐寢食俱J25nB159_p0138b15做到這裡只喚作塵勞暫息寂靜輕安之境亦名J25nB159_p0138b16解脫深坑未為極則切忌認著山僧昔年做到這裡J25nB159_p0138b17歡喜無量自不知是定力現前工夫亦是前塵喪偶J25nB159_p0138b18境界雖得此定而慧光未發故於佛祖無義路話都J25nB159_p0138b19不曉得故古德誡云:「有佛處不可住無佛處急走過。」J25nB159_p0138b20乃自知非發願云:「若我得悟之後誓不以少為足J25nB159_p0138b21求寂滅安樂不求生天富貴求佛智慧求佛辯才J25nB159_p0138b22佛知見深知法界打破諸祖重關事理貫通法法圓J25nB159_p0138b23融妙用自在然後水邊林下保養聖胎待時龍天推J25nB159_p0138b24扶持末運接續祖燈。」自然從空放下於無下手處J25nB159_p0138b25重下手驀然信手摸著鼻孔㘞地一聲元來秪是舊J25nB159_p0138b26時人只改舊時行履處似這般說話未曾悟道的人J25nB159_p0138b27但看得教典熟箇箇說得只是畫餅不能充饑說衣J25nB159_p0138b28不能禦寒亦不能人為解粘去縛到這裡正好順性增J25nB159_p0138b29潛行密用廣行萬行興大悲心遇愚癡邪見者痛J25nB159_p0138b30心哀愍勸令修行正法不犯條章陰翊王度報荅國J25nB159_p0138c01

邇來僧俗中有等邪見魔種未學道先要知道J25nB159_p0138c02參禪先要會禪蓋是夙無修行正因所以今生不具J25nB159_p0138c03正知正見遇著一等邪魔外道不能辨擇便去拜他J25nB159_p0138c04為師聽他謬說念佛底便是我便是自佛性又無J25nB159_p0138c05入道悟由又不敢去見明眼宗師妄稱善知識誑惑J25nB159_p0138c06愚癡要人恭敬一盲引眾盲相牽入火坑苦哉苦哉J25nB159_p0138c07正是無始時來生死根本卻乃認為自佛性

昔有J25nB159_p0138c08竺尚書謁長沙岑禪師師喚:「尚書。」竺應:「。」師云:「不是J25nB159_p0138c09尚書本命。」竺云:「不可離卻即今秪對底別有第二箇J25nB159_p0138c10主人公也。」師云:「喚尚書作至尊得麼?」竺云:「與麼不秪J25nB159_p0138c11對時莫不是弟子主人公否?」師云:「非但秪對不秪對J25nB159_p0138c12從無始劫來是箇生死根本汝等於此句下知得J25nB159_p0138c13著落許你具得一分擇法眼。」長沙乃示偈云:「學道之J25nB159_p0138c14人不識真只為從前認識神無始劫來生死本癡人J25nB159_p0138c15喚作本來人。」

自有佛祖以來便有四眾弟子在家男J25nB159_p0138c16女二眾持齋念佛亦不拋家失業乘戒俱急者臨終J25nB159_p0138c17化佛接引往生淨土蒙佛授記永不退轉乘戒俱緩J25nB159_p0138c18亦不失人天福報又有一等邪魔外道妻子J25nB159_p0138c19火坑未脫業識忙忙為貪財色故妄言見性悟道J25nB159_p0138c20不禮佛敬僧撥無因果夜聚曉散暗傳邪法謬言七J25nB159_p0138c21日悟道教他一類無識男女隨類認自是佛不用J25nB159_p0138c22燒香禮佛修行懺悔此等喫鐵棒邪魔今時極多J25nB159_p0138c23等宿有正因今遇老僧特為苦口說破汝等倘或不J25nB159_p0138c24幸逢著速便知非不可親近。《楞嚴經佛授記云:「徒弟J25nB159_p0138c25與師俱陷王難死墮無間地獄受無量苦無有出期。」J25nB159_p0138c26又云:「如素平人妄稱國王自取誅戮。」汝還知否古今J25nB159_p0138c27師德無柰學者之迷何不得而教他看則公案J25nB159_p0138c28楔出楔相似你看中峰祖師偈云:「心中有佛將心念J25nB159_p0138c29念得心空佛也空撒手歸來重檢點花開赤白間青J25nB159_p0138c30。」至其究竟處實無能念之人亦無所念之佛汝還J25nB159_p0139a01知否妄計有念即是能所那得不迷亦名邪見隨見J25nB159_p0139a02生解即墮生死明見之人則不然雖終日念佛而未J25nB159_p0139a03嘗有念求其念處體相了不可得只待數珠墮地之J25nB159_p0139a04則知惟心淨土自性彌陀非外物也珍重

誠哉此事見則便見擬思則白雲萬里況如之若何J25nB159_p0139a07汝欲決要明此一件大事須著做直捷工夫能向一J25nB159_p0139a08毫頭上安身立命做教久久則便得一念不生前後J25nB159_p0139a09際斷矣若得真到此地則曠劫不明之事當下分明J25nB159_p0139a10猶如啞子夢見親娘與人說不得亦復如人飲水冷J25nB159_p0139a11暖自知方可水邊林下保養聖胎待時天龍推出J25nB159_p0139a12持末運接續祖燈廣化眾生同成正覺其或未然J25nB159_p0139a13將我所付念佛公案貼在鼻端上不許執在一邊J25nB159_p0139a14向一切處常目在之勿使須臾失其照顧疑箇念佛J25nB159_p0139a15底是誰?」於這一句上綿綿密密直教首尾一貫逼拶J25nB159_p0139a16將去如不得力再加箇畢竟念佛底是誰?」倘被散亂J25nB159_p0139a17昏沉之魔攪擾或有間斷莫容滯久如雞抱卵若泠J25nB159_p0139a18卻其窠子無出頭期矣工夫綿密之喻無如此也J25nB159_p0139a19宿有靈骨得箇覺觸處切不可自許須見本色宗匠J25nB159_p0139a20入他爐鞴受他煆煉出來真偽深淺一一得知更不J25nB159_p0139a21存其悟跡做箇無事無為底自在道人所以道:「金屑J25nB159_p0139a22眼中翳衣珠法上塵靈猶不重佛祖是何人?」到這J25nB159_p0139a23裡但有纖毫悟理未忘佛法玄微去之未盡皆墮法J25nB159_p0139a24塵見之圈圚誠哉此事乃無大極大底大事真能J25nB159_p0139a25欺賢壓聖豈可輒作容易想而不慎乎至囑至囑

欲作吾家真種草要須直下坐斷聖凡情量不守靈J25nB159_p0139a28鑑虛明廓亡自他當體不顧亦不作無知解自然J25nB159_p0139a29本體露現如大日輪昇於虛空無處不照正恁麼時J25nB159_p0139a30若有箇承當底人則不能與那事相應此是佛祖自J25nB159_p0139b01證三昧比比不相知各各不相到喚作大事因緣」。J25nB159_p0139b02生身子睥睨不著三賢十聖只為聖心未忘見性如J25nB159_p0139b03隔羅縠饒你才並馬鳴解齊龍樹亦只得一生兩生J25nB159_p0139b04不失人身此是根思夙淨聞之即解去道逾遠況小J25nB159_p0139b05智薄德浮淺之學者乎又如慧可大師無書不解J25nB159_p0139b06經不通到初祖面前一詞不措方覓安心從斯一切J25nB159_p0139b07放下心如牆壁至於立雪斷臂猶不肯可及乎瞥地J25nB159_p0139b08一下則禮三拜依位而立始曰汝得吾髓此豈造次J25nB159_p0139b09近世學者心粗認指為月天地懸殊自既錯解將此J25nB159_p0139b10印證後昆一盲引眾盲為害非細或者謂:「坐禪J25nB159_p0139b11得箇安樂處身心輕安更無異念直是靈靈不昧了J25nB159_p0139b12了常知於生死岸頭得不疑只未會古今差別公J25nB159_p0139b13。」是何言歟蓋因邪師法眼未明妄據師位以方便J25nB159_p0139b14為真實是非不辨認箇湛不搖處作空劫那邊事J25nB159_p0139b15非認奴作郎殊不知湛入合湛是識邊際永嘉云:「J25nB159_p0139b16法財滅功德莫不繇斯心意識」;古德云:「諸佛說心J25nB159_p0139b17破心相令知心相元是虛妄」,今人認心是道深違佛J25nB159_p0139b18又增戲論殊乖大體或者云:「一切皆空有甚正悟J25nB159_p0139b19?」此是斷見外道或者云:「一切無著自然無礙。」此是J25nB159_p0139b20掩耳偷鈴自屎不覺臭或者云:「齋戒明白清淨無染J25nB159_p0139b21自然不墮惡趣。」此是住相布施三途業因或者云:「J25nB159_p0139b22悟不拘於小節任意浮沉隨處騰騰便是快活道人。」J25nB159_p0139b23此是常見外道闡提癡漢或者云:「但一切時如死人J25nB159_p0139b24更有甚事?」此是白日寐語誇談馬角豈不見道:「J25nB159_p0139b25伽常在定無有不定時」。或者云:「某人雖不會道柰何J25nB159_p0139b26死得好有堅固子。」此是夢中說夢僧問古德云:「大死J25nB159_p0139b27底人卻活時如何?」荅云:「不許夜行投明須到且無你J25nB159_p0139b28用心處你若古今見盡迷悟情消則常轉法輪一切J25nB159_p0139b29時出生一切時滅度。」貧道痛以慧命危甚若一絲九J25nB159_p0139b30觀今玄紹之徒概似兒戲之所為耳但要誑得入J25nB159_p0139c01手則豈知吾祖有行解相應名之曰祖之誡乎J25nB159_p0139c02是為師不審學者之才器堪否而苟圖收拾門人之J25nB159_p0139c03致招法門之辱累也

如子順大川禪人自捨緣入J25nB159_p0139c04於真定金臺二處掩關下得定力之功而本地風J25nB159_p0139c05光未發故南詢師匠決擇懷香禮余呈似功夫次第J25nB159_p0139c06余知做到湛不搖處猶未出他識陰區宇此是靜想J25nB159_p0139c07不脫所以見不明殊知勞慮永斷得法界靜即彼J25nB159_p0139c08靜解為自障礙要知得在神靜失在物虛錯認定盤J25nB159_p0139c09且喜沒交涉此是大解脫門自在三昧須是塵勞J25nB159_p0139c10不染靜妙不收步步活鱍鱍地宛轉無窮鬧浩浩處J25nB159_p0139c11識得方始八面玲瓏七穿八穴子更下那一步功夫J25nB159_p0139c12一日如桶底脫則知如上葛藤盡是為蛇畫足雖然J25nB159_p0139c13要作大法器建立門庭直須久依我住再向那邊更J25nB159_p0139c14那邊打數百箇懸空觔斗歸來始得智過於師方堪J25nB159_p0139c15傳授豈不見道:「雪後始知松柏操事難方見丈夫心。」

僧成凱等請益云:「某等實為生死事大無常迅速J25nB159_p0139c23望和尚大慈開示修行之訣我等依師修行脫生死J25nB159_p0139c24。」師云:「余聞諸佛未曾出世無一法與人但隨病施J25nB159_p0139c25遂有十二分教如將蜜果換苦葫蘆淘汝業根都J25nB159_p0139c26無實事靈利之士纔聞舉起便知下落任運隨緣J25nB159_p0139c27來喫飯困來打眠更有甚麼禪道可參可學而謂生J25nB159_p0139c28死無常者是甚熱碗鳴聲不特正令當行抑且宗風J25nB159_p0139c29未墜所以先德只教人自信得及便了不教人信佛J25nB159_p0139c30信祖故云:『昔本不生今亦不滅。』若知自心如此諸佛J25nB159_p0140a01亦然汝等眾中莫有知者麼知則出來舉似老僧為J25nB159_p0140a02汝證據其或不然須當諦聽老僧拄杖子為汝指示J25nB159_p0140a03端的。」拈拄杖云:「適來據汝口款既曰生死事大無常J25nB159_p0140a04迅速』,誠非說了便休直須明明白白得知這生死事J25nB159_p0140a05大無常迅速從無始劫來隨業升沉輪迴六趣今生J25nB159_p0140a06若不參教徹去決無自了之理然亦不是恁麼知了J25nB159_p0140a07便休直須辦箇真真實實決要了這生死無常之肯J25nB159_p0140a08憤箇勇猛精進之大志𢬵捨身心不顧得失今生J25nB159_p0140a09不了決定不休生與同生死與同死誠有如是操略J25nB159_p0140a10方可領取公案去僧問趙州:『狗子還有佛性也無?』J25nB159_p0140a11:『。』疑云蠢動含靈皆有佛性因甚狗子無佛性J25nB159_p0140a12甚道無趙州意作麼生無吽畢竟意作麼生無吽J25nB159_p0140a13爾先受萬法歸一要在一歸何處上深下疑情或自J25nB159_p0140a14肯信心念佛者須看念佛底是誰要在字上著倒J25nB159_p0140a15此是話頭也自此領去從朝至暮從暮至朝念念不J25nB159_p0140a16忘心心無間孜孜而參兀兀而究如雞抱卵常令暖J25nB159_p0140a17氣相接發大誓願莫退初心抖擻精神勿使觸途成J25nB159_p0140a18苟有如是志氣不患其不發明也假饒宿業障重J25nB159_p0140a19根器狹劣今生不發明猶勝人天有漏之因只貴直J25nB159_p0140a20下大起疑情大疑大悟小疑小悟不疑不悟先要堅J25nB159_p0140a21持禁戒是以尸羅清淨佛境現前亦是因戒生定J25nB159_p0140a22定發慧若無戒甘伏生死門然須知工夫做到J25nB159_p0140a23極則處於自身心必有種種諸魔境界若得戒定慧J25nB159_p0140a24力及志願力更得話頭純熟力或得一時一霎之間J25nB159_p0140a25靜相現前之力則魔軍易遣出身有路也此余三十J25nB159_p0140a26年前經過險路故以告報汝等好自提持勉慎護念J25nB159_p0140a27無自易也。」

成凱等再展拜云:「惟願將師生緣出處J25nB159_p0140a28昔年發心行腳做工夫次第得力處說示我等我等J25nB159_p0140a29依師修行必不辜負平生。」師曰:「本善祖貫鳳陽人J25nB159_p0140a30任生於廣東之雷陽父吳姓母鍾氏稚小好以佛事J25nB159_p0140b01為兒戲性惡腥羶幼時入學四箇月日至今猶不甚J25nB159_p0140b02識字但稟得箇誠信決烈孤硬之資心意質直作事J25nB159_p0140b03忽略似無思算計較之執情十七歲幸得出家因我J25nB159_p0140b04天稟頗異根性雖鈍聞皆信解初遇源明和尚即辦J25nB159_p0140b05虔誠渴仰請益話頭蒙師開示字公案當夜便學J25nB159_p0140b06上參提起迴光返照下疑之間便就理會得J25nB159_p0140b07箇蠢動含靈皆有佛性因甚狗子無佛性趙州意作J25nB159_p0140b08麼生無吽於此反覆而疑便覺有些頭緒可致疑也J25nB159_p0140b09其時即覺這老趙州似無迴避處也次日舉似源明J25nB159_p0140b10和尚和尚云:『你也奇怪我二十餘年看箇也如J25nB159_p0140b11蚊子叮鐵牛相似並無下嘴處你今纔方學做工夫J25nB159_p0140b12便有許多知解快便掃卻不許卒便開口無受用也。』J25nB159_p0140b13良哉言乎臨別囑云:『觀你根器有異於人他日後必J25nB159_p0140b14有悟道之日切莫中途被人哄去做長老棄卻修行J25nB159_p0140b15誤你生死大事須發大願以自護持。』我便發願:『若我J25nB159_p0140b16生死未了大事不明輒便拋棄修行貪著名利當墮J25nB159_p0140b17阿鼻大地獄中受無量苦。』有時坐禪常有雜念紛飛J25nB159_p0140b18不可遏捺無計柰何一日忽然檢點將來原是自J25nB159_p0140b19無始染習成性底一切世間五陰乃至親里等事J25nB159_p0140b20為我所直下知非生大慚愧乃舉起金剛王寶劍如J25nB159_p0140b21斬一握絲盡情一斬一切俱斷更不存一毫頭許於J25nB159_p0140b22其間自此以來話頭自然省力時中覺得胸次中空J25nB159_p0140b23蕩蕩地正如發船開岸至大海洋相似無罣無礙J25nB159_p0140b24爾前塵熟境現前之時即覺了不可得縱要思量亦J25nB159_p0140b25不及矣一坐便有靜相現前話頭綿綿密密不見間J25nB159_p0140b26鼻息微細不見出入身心輕清脊梁挺直目不交J25nB159_p0140b27只是憎喧愛靜到處只要尋間靜處住凡見經教J25nB159_p0140b28中義理便有信解如獲舊物一一會歸自不作他J25nB159_p0140b29因無際老師初學做工夫四指大帖見也不願看J25nB159_p0140b30只是拍盲做鈍工夫後來乃得大徹大悟我即深信J25nB159_p0140c01其說亦不願看經教念念只要做箇出世好人

J25nB159_p0140c02統八年入川參見無際老師從貴州至四川途中見J25nB159_p0140c03數輩修行老僧其時我自有箇主宰了見其說得是J25nB159_p0140c04處則信而不忽其不是處則執而不讓其年二十五J25nB159_p0140c05歲矣自要習學好人行止於四威儀中不因勉強而J25nB159_p0140c06自然超卓傑立不隨時流轉動雖未登壇受具其習J25nB159_p0140c07性信樂毘尼一切時處專以坐禪為先嘗於坐中正J25nB159_p0140c08看話頭定相自然現前澄澄湛湛空空牢牢兩耳寂J25nB159_p0140c09寂怕似蛩鳴脊梁挺直骨節相拄自不動搖身心洒J25nB159_p0140c10落一念不生坐不知勞行不知倦真光孤迥六門齊J25nB159_p0140c11萬行同敷在我得之矣雖然只得一日或半日J25nB159_p0140c12間又間斷了但用力提撕便有不提撕即無逆順境J25nB159_p0140c13界不止萬端不及盡舉蓋其定力略不現前種種之J25nB159_p0140c14魔便就乘隙而入

正統九年無際老師奉J25nB159_p0140c15詔起程我即隨追沿路發願加起精進務要工夫入J25nB159_p0140c16到京印證至荊門州其時暄熱看定話頭行路身J25nB159_p0140c17輕不覺如飛徒眾赶我不上遇陰涼處歇下一坐便J25nB159_p0140c18即覺渾身骨頭疼痛如火燒熱便覺得盡虛空遍J25nB159_p0140c19法界總是一箇無字無內無外無自無他東西南北J25nB159_p0140c20都無分辨混然成片起身便行不覺忘卻腰胞拄杖J25nB159_p0140c21至晚到僧正司投歇僧官一見如法安頓溫顧僧官J25nB159_p0140c22夜起添馬草三次見我巍巍坐定不倒身乃異之J25nB159_p0140c23明辦齋款待留住三日寫書差人送至當陽縣清溪J25nB159_p0140c24入關於路亦似這等忘卻身體節次過水遺卻草J25nB159_p0140c25鞋腰包等物如今乃知前塵喪偶得盡身相離遍計J25nB159_p0140c26執證人空智之境界也善念長老原是先師維那J25nB159_p0140c27無工夫卻曉邪正及堂中有普無方道極中寶金山J25nB159_p0140c28數輩衲子都是無際師翁會下來皆具正眼見我形J25nB159_p0140c29儀落魄乃爭問緣由我舉似這般境界彼皆讚云:『J25nB159_p0140c30工夫做得甚諦當了只欠悟在。』我當時聞說如龍得J25nB159_p0141a01水似虎靠山心安無量

普無方便來問:『如何是祖師J25nB159_p0141a02西來意?』我聞他說全無畏怯直言:『道盡大地是箇祖J25nB159_p0141a03師意柰何未悟荅你不得縱使錯口道著你亦不知J25nB159_p0141a04問他作甚麼?』方即無言一日寶金山來問:『如人上樹J25nB159_p0141a05口啣一枝手無所攀腳無所踏樹下有人問西來意J25nB159_p0141a06開口即喪身失命不荅違他所問你作麼生?』我亦直J25nB159_p0141a07言道:『若不悟道開口問荅俱不免喪身失命你我只J25nB159_p0141a08貴做拍盲工夫一日悟了道自然會得開口。』如今乃J25nB159_p0141a09知是內懷聖胎發言殊異也

我當時便求關房入關J25nB159_p0141a10蒙念長老便送入關當即發願奮起勇猛精進之志J25nB159_p0141a11壁立萬仞無少寬容關中不設臥床唯安一凳而坐J25nB159_p0141a12晝夜禮佛一千二百拜哀求懺悔先罪每至中夜必J25nB159_p0141a13然臂香一炷克行自立打七煉磨誓不倒身以悟為J25nB159_p0141a14因輟夜眠睡魔沉重忽垂頭睡著不覺半夜醒來J25nB159_p0141a15惶愧知非懺悔待到天明除去坐凳立誓不坐以悟J25nB159_p0141a16為期晝夜只是經行倚立一夜靠著屋柱睡著覺來J25nB159_p0141a17恐懼知非懺悔又發願不近牆壁遼空經行勞倦之J25nB159_p0141a18昏睡愈加沉重乃對佛前號泣懺悔發願務要發J25nB159_p0141a19明這件大事誓不退轉身心𢬵捨性命盡將所有衣J25nB159_p0141a20缽之物罄散與僧堂大眾止留一箇空身在關房中J25nB159_p0141a21即請堂中十數僧會茶相助打七當時即告大眾曰J25nB159_p0141a22不勞諸公手扶但煩看顧倘我昏沉重來煩舉話頭J25nB159_p0141a23:「狗子還有佛性也無?」或不醒則任從打罵不敢生J25nB159_p0141a24若生嗔當墮地獄。』於是逼拶捱過二七日了眾人J25nB159_p0141a25因懈我亦不要勞煩於人唯自行自立後覺輕清J25nB159_p0141a26坐而參凝定身心惺惺歷歷只在這箇字上著倒J25nB159_p0141a27一日忽猛力盡這口氣逼拶去豁然卻似鑽入這J25nB159_p0141a28字裡相似覺得從下身麻木起至上身乃過頭頂J25nB159_p0141a29脫去一重皮相似當下身心如坐一箇大圓寂光中J25nB159_p0141a30話頭純純不間目前空牢牢地了無一法當情卓卓J25nB159_p0141b01巍巍脊梁狀如鐵橛鼻息全無出入坐之甚久孤迥J25nB159_p0141b02迥地無意無思乃放參經行輕清又加百倍到此一J25nB159_p0141b03切時中絕思絕慮無念無為如在一絲頭上安身立J25nB159_p0141b04命相似古人喻如秋潭月影靜夜鐘聲隨扣擊以無J25nB159_p0141b05觸波瀾而不散亦在我得之也

如是約十數日間J25nB159_p0141b06通宵不寐寢食俱忘眼眶瞠得酸酸地眼睛乾嚗嚗J25nB159_p0141b07地不肯交睫其時喜懼交懷忽起念云:『這般境界唯J25nB159_p0141b08我自知無人與我證據亦不知是邪是正恐做箇精J25nB159_p0141b09靈鬼神去也。』因萌此念放身閉目而睡睡中亦不知J25nB159_p0141b10此身著於床上似醒不醒之間如淨琉璃中含寶月J25nB159_p0141b11光相似內外明徹了無一點塵翳其塵勞妄想都無J25nB159_p0141b12影嚮矣正是身心客塵透漏無門我又得之矣常於J25nB159_p0141b13睡中寂光之境忽自觸覺似醒不醒湛湛寂寂如在J25nB159_p0141b14大寂光中圓陀陀光爍爍不覺有身心及其處所J25nB159_p0141b15一切聲嚮雖聞而不分辨但有一箇靈知而覺來J25nB159_p0141b16歡喜舉似道極中他舉手加額讚嘆不及即令我說J25nB159_p0141b17箇頌子看我連說數首無平一曰:『心空法界寬J25nB159_p0141b18圓明非內外蕩蕩絕縱橫騰騰無罣礙。』眾僧看了皆J25nB159_p0141b19讚歎不我恐障礙工夫盡情掃卻忽一夜睡著J25nB159_p0141b20被熟境牽轉作不得主宰覺來痛自責云:『還有這箇J25nB159_p0141b21在耶?』即抖擻精神競競業業務要決斷切切用心勤J25nB159_p0141b22勤佛前懺悔坐中看箇話頭還似這等綿綿密密J25nB159_p0141b23時也不有不看時也不無既無能舉之人亦無所舉J25nB159_p0141b24之法騰騰任運似箇養熟狗子左右相隨還尚有些J25nB159_p0141b25憎喧愛靜之病時時著驚一夜坐中話頭自然現前J25nB159_p0141b26密密久之微微細細不覺寂然定了半夜時分忽地J25nB159_p0141b27如霹靂響喇喇之聲這四大色身如分散了忽即返J25nB159_p0141b28內外瑩徹幽幽隱隱靈靈不昧了了常知不見一J25nB159_p0141b29法當情唯是一箇自知而非世間境界可比直下J25nB159_p0141b30前後際斷縱觀虛空萬象有情無情等覿體混融J25nB159_p0141c01覓一毫自他之相了不可得自亦不知是何境界J25nB159_p0141c02長沙亡僧偈:『目前無一法當處亦無人蕩蕩金J25nB159_p0141c03剛體非妄亦非真。』乃豁然悟其旨今乃知是得離依J25nB159_p0141c04他執證法空智之相我又得入手了也那時元來晝J25nB159_p0141c05夜放光動地常在面門出入柰何自家不知從此一J25nB159_p0141c06切響動之聲俱無礙矣常處那伽大定其輕安寂靜J25nB159_p0141c07之境非言可述

一日見高峰禪要:『到得這箇田地J25nB159_p0141c08只喚作生死岸頭得大自在之一步爾若曰生死向J25nB159_p0141c09上事須知更在青山外。』我當下得家鄉實信了也J25nB159_p0141c10彼時常發般若禪師四願:『若我得悟之後誓不以少J25nB159_p0141c11為足不求寂滅安樂不求生天富貴求佛智慧求佛J25nB159_p0141c12辯才求佛知見深入法界打破諸祖重關事理貫通J25nB159_p0141c13法法圓融妙用自在然後水邊林下保養聖胎待龍J25nB159_p0141c14天推出扶持末運接續祖燈廣度眾生同成正覺。』J25nB159_p0141c15一檢點將來雖有契證未全出手正如楞嚴經:『J25nB159_p0141c16諸行空於識還源滅生滅而於寂滅精妙未圓J25nB159_p0141c17生住著背涅槃城迷佛菩提忘失知見。』所以參禪須J25nB159_p0141c18求妙悟乃又知非不耽此輕安寂靜之樂念念發憤J25nB159_p0141c19向無下手中重下手無進步處更進步精進研窮以J25nB159_p0141c20求妙悟

一朝聞鐘聲不由說一偈云:『沉沉寂寂絕施J25nB159_p0141c21觸著無端吼似雷動地一聲消息盡髑髏粉碎夢J25nB159_p0141c22初回。』到此冰消瓦解凡見一切經書文字義理如推J25nB159_p0141c23門落臼始得頭頭上顯物物上明古人喚作無師智J25nB159_p0141c24自然智』。如今看來彼時雖得如此宗門還只喚作J25nB159_p0141c25來禪亦云:『涅槃心易曉差別智難明』。果於宗門無義J25nB159_p0141c26路話衲僧沒巴鼻句子又卻不全曉會其時因聞荊J25nB159_p0141c27州府有箇蒙隱和尚是妙峰門人越關去見行至豪J25nB159_p0141c28林寺投宿夜坐不倒睡著忽看見天上星月及寺中J25nB159_p0141c29殿宇竹木等物覺來且驚且喜不知是何異境如今J25nB159_p0141c30乃知是神光湧出之相蒙隱一見便問:『曾見何人J25nB159_p0142a01甚話頭?』我舉似了隱云:『如何是無字?』荅云:『即心是。』J25nB159_p0142a02:『你喚甚麼作心?』荅云:『我滿口是語卻道不得。』隱云J25nB159_p0142a03如何道不得?』荅云:『我若道得則靈山當時不秪微笑J25nB159_p0142a04。』連問數語荅了卻云:『你做底工夫也不差你所J25nB159_p0142a05見處也的當只是還欠懸崖撒手一步在若得絕後J25nB159_p0142a06再甦四天下人柰何你不得。』留住盤桓數日臨別囑J25nB159_p0142a07:『再去精進做那步工夫始得大了大當汝還知否J25nB159_p0142a08那一步工夫從來不屬第二人知如人到家自會做J25nB159_p0142a09家裡活計。』我即點頭而別

我請念長老商量要去北J25nB159_p0142a10京見無際月溪二老師印證工夫念云:『你要出關J25nB159_p0142a11且問你兩轉語荅得容你出關不然且在關中保養J25nB159_p0142a12只如靈雲見桃花悟道偈:「三十年來尋劍客幾迴J25nB159_p0142a13葉落又抽枝自從一見桃花後直至如今更不疑。」J25nB159_p0142a14沙云:「諦當甚諦當敢保老兄未徹在。」你道是許他J25nB159_p0142a15許他?』荅云:『不知。』念云:『如何不知?』荅云:『知則不許也。』J25nB159_p0142a16:『只如世尊初出母胎一手指天一手指地周行七J25nB159_p0142a17步目顧四方云:「天上天下唯我獨尊。」雲門道:「我當時J25nB159_p0142a18若在一棒打殺與狗子喫貴圖天下太平。」你道是謗J25nB159_p0142a19佛耶報恩耶?』荅云:『不可以智知。』念云:『且畢竟作麼生?』J25nB159_p0142a20荅云:『你我俱未徹悟不許開口大家且信雲門去。』J25nB159_p0142a21:『如是則任你出關去。』

逕造北京不期無際老師方J25nB159_p0142a22示寂遂到廣恩寺見月溪老師我先聞老師門風陡J25nB159_p0142a23禮拜了不敢開口便執弟子禮侍立於傍老師見J25nB159_p0142a24我這等動靜只以平實問我來歷了便教領下安歇J25nB159_p0142a25雖然如是不得呈似工夫心中放不落至晚對通J25nB159_p0142a26衣缽說:『本善實為生死事大初學做得有些工夫J25nB159_p0142a27不能決不遠數千里路特特來求印證。』通覆云:『今日J25nB159_p0142a28新到關主要求印證工夫。』老師云:『憨子他今日入門J25nB159_p0142a29我便識他了何用他來說工夫且去佛法不是鮮J25nB159_p0142a30那怕爛卻?』於是時中雖得親近侍立常感東敲西J25nB159_p0142b01暗垂勘驗之機我亦見機而作不墮悄然之塹

J25nB159_p0142b02日通衣缽見我欣然滿面喜曰:『老師昨夜在室中多J25nB159_p0142b03讚老兄好箇真實的當衲子堪紹宗乘恭喜恭喜J25nB159_p0142b04等他日都來你會下喫飯也。』我道:『本善福薄何敢當J25nB159_p0142b05?』一日老師在園中乘涼而坐我侍立次:『你原來J25nB159_p0142b06看甚麼話頭?』荅云:『無字。』:『如何是無字?』荅云:『弟子一J25nB159_p0142b07向只隨人道是箇無字今日看來是口金剛王寶劍。』J25nB159_p0142b08:『如何是金剛王寶劍?』荅云:『寒霜焰焰耀古騰今。』J25nB159_p0142b09還我劍來。』荅云:『擬動即犯他鋒鋩。』:『橫按當軒時如J25nB159_p0142b10?』荅云:『佛來也殺祖來也殺。』:『老僧來聻?』荅云:『亦不J25nB159_p0142b11相饒。』:『殺敗後如何?』荅云:『且喜天下太平。』:『如何是J25nB159_p0142b12無字義?』荅云:『贓賊分明。』:『賊且置還我贓來。』荅云:『J25nB159_p0142b13六三十六。』:『未是再道。』荅云:『夜短眠不足日長饑有J25nB159_p0142b14。』師云:『古人有鐵牛過窗櫺之喻且頭角四足都過J25nB159_p0142b15因甚尾巴過不得?』荅云:『弟子看來只是他習氣難J25nB159_p0142b16。』:『此是微見未脫在。』荅曰:『了無一法當情瞥爾通J25nB159_p0142b17身露地。』:『你即今在甚處安身立命?』荅曰:『何處不稱J25nB159_p0142b18?』師驀喚侍者請出祖衣展令隨喜看了乃云:『此衣J25nB159_p0142b19是唐朝宮主所置今八百餘年矣白雲度老祖付與J25nB159_p0142b20古拙師祖祖付與東普先師師付與我老僧若是克J25nB159_p0142b21家種子方堪紹荷狐假虎威焉敢希冀?』我即禮拜謝J25nB159_p0142b22師云:『侍者且收起待行則付與他去表信歸山涵養。』J25nB159_p0142b23我又再拜蒙師正擊傍敲明抽暗換方便提攜嘗舉J25nB159_p0142b24百丈侍馬祖祖侍南嶽讓讓侍曹溪六祖皆是久久J25nB159_p0142b25親炙磨光剉銳乃能豁徹重關羈鎖掃盡玄微窠臼J25nB159_p0142b26然後乃能深得大機大用為人天眼目你今依我久J25nB159_p0142b27住一會方去決不負你。』我即拜:『。』一日因事不獲J25nB159_p0142b28而回杭州登壇受戒畢思古德云:『但有纖疑在不到J25nB159_p0142b29絕學安能七縱八橫天迴地轉?』乃上天目萬峰菴掩J25nB159_p0142b30

至景泰三年先師蒙J25nB159_p0142c01上賜回南京太崗輒遣可信齎書來取行李至蘇州J25nB159_p0142c02遇楚山長老問云:『久聞杭州有箇善菩薩是公否?』J25nB159_p0142c03:『不敢。』又問:『蒙山三關語有連湖橋為一切人直指J25nB159_p0142c04你道如何是直指?』荅云:『不知。』:『如何不知?』荅云:『知則J25nB159_p0142c05曲了也。』師云:『我也不會。』又問:『中峰頌兜率悅第三關〉:J25nB159_p0142c06眼光落地向甚麼處去偈云:「鐵狗銅蛇正奮嗔風刀J25nB159_p0142c07火鋸肉成塵茫茫大夜幾經劫舉眼無親怕殺人。」J25nB159_p0142c08道中峰如何這等頌出耶?』荅云:『中峰太煞老婆相為J25nB159_p0142c09爭柰錯會者多。』:『我到這裡都不會。』荅云:『師叔莫J25nB159_p0142c10瞞人好。』:『善首座你今到太崗去我且未與你向紫J25nB159_p0142c11羅帳裡撒珍珠甚不易你到這地位只是你未脫得J25nB159_p0142c12情見在。』荅云:『師家無閒語。』:『你不見溈山道:「凡聖情J25nB159_p0142c13體露真常事理不二即如如佛。」如今始知悟跡除J25nB159_p0142c14之不盡即屬情見皆名理障礙正知見畢竟悟理不J25nB159_p0142c15。』既到太崗拜起先師云:『往往人來皆說你在杭州J25nB159_p0142c16大開爐鞴好施惡辣鉗鎚你豈知他人盡作無明會J25nB159_p0142c17?』盤桓月餘每入室但說火爐頭話先師以大衣拂J25nB159_p0142c18子法語寫畢將及發行被可洪長老稟先師務必請J25nB159_p0142c19我去廣東化漆用漆佛殿供桌等我即堅卻不肯去J25nB159_p0142c20被他將衣拂藏卻我不辭先師下山先師臨委息時J25nB159_p0142c21遺囑可權云:『你速遣人送衣拂到杭州與本善。』雖蒙J25nB159_p0142c22送來私謂傳佛心印豈細職哉但到處唯掩室思所J25nB159_p0142c23以稱其職也

余在蘇杭洎天目山等四十餘年曾住J25nB159_p0142c24十餘處所皆幻居而嘗效古人雲行鳥飛初無留J25nB159_p0142c25但視其有理便住更不躊躕可否無理便行再不J25nB159_p0142c26回頭顧戀佛法世法打成一片今憶四十餘年之間J25nB159_p0142c27於其觸著磕著大小省悟及其潛通暗證之效不計J25nB159_p0142c28其數雖不甚識字隨自胸襟流出所成文句義理聯J25nB159_p0142c29屬自然有法文人見之而皆讚美

一夜禮佛作觀云J25nB159_p0142c30能禮所禮性空寂感應道交難思議。』當下隨觀直入J25nB159_p0143a01至不思議處能觀之人所觀之佛雙忘雙泯伏地良J25nB159_p0143a02久身心寂滅即契無生法忍到這裡始知大地無寸J25nB159_p0143a03土矣因看法華經無上兩足尊知法常無性佛種J25nB159_p0143a04從緣起是故說一乘。』遂留心於中反復沉潛默體其J25nB159_p0143a05甚深祕要之處誠有日益日損之感正是一句當機J25nB159_p0143a06八萬法門生死路絕余平生所欲知其佛法細大處J25nB159_p0143a07總在茲而得矣今日始知腳跟點地也正是我放身J25nB159_p0143a08命處了也

有法因山居隆菩薩請益:『空谷隆和尚教J25nB159_p0143a09他空心靜坐認箇無生久久自然悟去切莫依今時J25nB159_p0143a10人看死話頭乃依他空坐數年一切處俱無住著J25nB159_p0143a11空心莽莽蕩蕩一日著風魔了救得醒來到底秪是J25nB159_p0143a12箇癡癡呆呆底苦哉苦哉!』法屬演公等請余上山究J25nB159_p0143a13余問其故隆所舉開示之做法余迅指云:『謬之甚J25nB159_p0143a14!』即從頭舉古驗今開發一遍隆等及眾聞說所示J25nB159_p0143a15皆號慟震於山谷俱云:『未曾聞也。』遂留余山中掩關J25nB159_p0143a16隆執弟子禮請余為眾普說其略曰:『寶劍全提日用J25nB159_p0143a17高揮大抹肯從容卷兮魂膽迎風喪舒也髑髏遍J25nB159_p0143a18地橫萬死萬生渾不顧一鎗一戟便收功趙州性命J25nB159_p0143a19分明也血刃參天不露鋒。』拂一拂云:『虛空廓徹無消J25nB159_p0143a20萬里無雲天碧碧拶得須彌入藕絲彌勒釋迦齊J25nB159_p0143a21叫屈倒騎鐵馬逐西風驚得泥牛從海出諸仁者若J25nB159_p0143a22作奇特勝妙會正是辜負不作奇特勝妙會J25nB159_p0143a23是抱贓叫屈且作麼生會不見道:「解藏天下於天下J25nB159_p0143a24始見林稍掛角羊。」』

古庭老師到杭州因見普說全章J25nB159_p0143a25乃問紫雲義菴主云:『善公端的是何人法嗣?』義云:『J25nB159_p0143a26崗臨終遣徒送衣拂來。』師云:『若如受者秪喚作承虛J25nB159_p0143a27接響他後如何壓得天下人舌頭?』一日相看一見針J25nB159_p0143a28芥相投遂以大衣牙拂重付偈曰:『祖祖相承豈再疑J25nB159_p0143a29不存元字果堪奇緘唇豎脊寒岩下便使人間十二J25nB159_p0143a30。』命義菴主領眾送來余再三不受義等僉曰:『古庭J25nB159_p0143b01老師曰:「祖命在躬不可固讓。」』余即受之

每思初祖偈J25nB159_p0143b02:『悟佛心宗等無差互行解相應名之曰祖。』歷觀古J25nB159_p0143b03人皆是秘重大法深自韜晦余又何人每每痛哀祖J25nB159_p0143b04道不振乃潛行密用積功累德隨處掩關常處那伽J25nB159_p0143b05大定不盡有為不住無為因行掉臂兼修淨業常行J25nB159_p0143b06法華三昧懺法以資淨行常自思曰:『今幸到此地位J25nB159_p0143b07如人常在家愁甚家中事不辦也?』茲為汝等要聞我J25nB159_p0143b08做工夫次第得力驗效處不覺說盡四十年前錯用J25nB159_p0143b09其心之許多露布以示汝等汝等果能依我修行J25nB159_p0143b10要具我如是誠信決烈如是守戒行持如是勇猛精J25nB159_p0143b11如是打七煉磨如是剋期取證如是禪定解脫J25nB159_p0143b12是次第覺觸如是信解悟入如是尋師印可如是涵J25nB159_p0143b13養淘汰如是待時為人還有一重如是直待案山點J25nB159_p0143b14即向汝道即今案山點頭也未速道速道誠有如J25nB159_p0143b15是修行正因萬一可中紹繼門風若不如是下死工J25nB159_p0143b16夫做得來縱饒說得簇花簇錦到我這裡都無用處J25nB159_p0143b17余雖一期事不獲稱實方便而說猶增我法之罪J25nB159_p0143b18不許汝等作實法解會故謂若將實法與人土也消J25nB159_p0143b19不得。』雖信其說嘗聞古德云:『與人實法土難消道火J25nB159_p0143b20何曾口被燒拋出秦時𨍏轢鑽突巒如斗兩頭搖。』J25nB159_p0143b21亦以之耳珍重。」
