J20nB098_p0508b04不審年來己躬造詣何如?僧數十年苦辛搬盡,欲求J20nB098_p0508b05個知命者佐助吾宗,終無適願。公天姿卓異,膽志超J20nB098_p0508b06群,正足勝任此段因緣,柰聰明太煞,多被見解陰魔J20nB098_p0508b07瞞過,於般若本心不能觸動,先哲斥為認賊作子者J20nB098_p0508b08是也。若據本位中一切覺知,全無交涉,但起絲毫覺J20nB098_p0508b09知,即劫家珍之賊,非本覺主人也。然覺知者,但方便J20nB098_p0508b10權名耳,豈覺更有覺?知?更有知?中間更容誰分別是J20nB098_p0508b11覺非覺、是知非知耶?如翁自南皋,豈更向人道:「我是J20nB098_p0508b12南皋。」這場事,惟翁堪任。且人生得失興衰猶若一夢,J20nB098_p0508b13惟死生大事乃永劫無盡功勳,安有大過量人肯草J20nB098_p0508b14草苟圖自印而已?況浮世事無有盡期,扶世擔子挑J20nB098_p0508b15來已極,亦當放下,圖個輕安。出世一法,最緊要事,急J20nB098_p0508b16忙下手,打教淨盡,畢此殘緣,分明落處,三界出沒無J20nB098_p0508b17復滯礙,入凡不卑、入聖不尊,佛界、魔宮隨意自在。雖J20nB098_p0508b18然,親證始得,切忌相似。

J20nB098_p0508b20學道得力,處在臨機不亂。所以然者,只是平常看得J20nB098_p0508b21幻妄破,如用兵法,臨陣遇敵,彼此兩忘,橫衝直撞,取J20nB098_p0508b22無不勝。足下天資超卓,邇來妙用神鬼莫測,真為學J20nB098_p0508b23之得力也。正是口說無憑,做出便見。足下雖信此段J20nB098_p0508b24因緣,不假功用,但少竿頭再進耳。此處若不抖擻精J20nB098_p0508b25神,嚗地一斷,突出本地光輝,是所謂無明窟裏出活J20nB098_p0508b26佛,解脫坑中入死人是也。深惟珍重!

J20nB098_p0508b28接來教,令某毫髮悚然,就是釋迦老子在靈山會上J20nB098_p0508b29四十九年,覓個無事的人不得。末後拈花示眾,止有J20nB098_p0508b30迦葉覷透此意。不料公當下省會,直超百千萬劫,可J20nB098_p0508c01見長公具眼。說公聰明,直取法王首,真不偶然也。閻J20nB098_p0508c02家老子原是自己日用善善惡惡的心。既無此心,又J20nB098_p0508c03有誰喫鐵棒?驢胎、馬腹,即日用中妄求取捨如意的J20nB098_p0508c04心。既無此心,臨機應變,如架上洪鐘,大扣大應,了無J20nB098_p0508c05形相可得。只這著子,盡大地人不省,只在幻得幻失J20nB098_p0508c06處顛顛倒倒,縱求得功名蓋世、見超今古,全不得受J20nB098_p0508c07用。不但不得受用,且造幻業,去受幻報,豈不哀哉?公J20nB098_p0508c08既大醒,方敢說這話。
復岳司馬石帆
J20nB098_p0508c10自獲命以來,數十年江海奔馳,欲覓一知命者擔荷J20nB098_p0508c11此事,為報先德。柰近時學道者不具本眼,盡被邪宗J20nB098_p0508c12誘入他窟,並不遺半個過量丈夫,迴頭返腦,向自己J20nB098_p0508c13腳跟下推窮,一向只去倚墻靠壁,攀為己有,眼空一J20nB098_p0508c14切,無知之流信以為實,互相引證,秘為極則快事。殊J20nB098_p0508c15不知大家牽入火坑去也,真為可憐憫者。設有知者,J20nB098_p0508c16亦只得緘口坐視而已。僧一見足下傾施肝膽,顧如J20nB098_p0508c17骨肉,非曩劫道緣,曷能值此?且喜公已具智慧眼、金J20nB098_p0508c18剛骨,篤信有此研究益切,真吾法中瑞相也。老朽往J20nB098_p0508c19返千餘里,受風水顛危,不啻萬狀,得足下悉為我酬J20nB098_p0508c20謝盡也。足下造詣已純,但須弱竿再進,勿容見解滯J20nB098_p0508c21絆。識情瞥起,急用金剛慧劍鏟教淨盡,不被有賊誑J20nB098_p0508c22亂。要見有賊麼?只這參學人于四威儀中究取明辨J20nB098_p0508c23的、于古德章句上追求的、于自己意根下卜度的,覺J20nB098_p0508c24有滋味、有透悟、有玄妙,人所不知、己獨知之,有所得J20nB098_p0508c25者,便是先德斥此荼毒鼓喻,眼著迸睛、耳著塞聞、臭J20nB098_p0508c26著鼻裂、味著舌爛、觸著身摧、意著顛癡,於六根門途J20nB098_p0508c27相逢,總教遭他誅戮,於此不可不慎。既識得渠面目,J20nB098_p0508c28再勿使他酷毒,抖擻精神,豎起脊梁,看如何便得不J20nB098_p0508c29遭他手。如是追、如是究、如是逼,纔有好事到來,隨疾J20nB098_p0508c30驅向他方世界,畢竟造到個力盡氣微處,橫不是、直J20nB098_p0509a01不是,提不起、放不下,渾無巴鼻,亦不得生大憔悴,愈J20nB098_p0509a02惱愈急時,忽然迸破關捩子,伸手摸著鼻孔,始知令J20nB098_p0509a03郎元從翁出,有甚奇特?百萬繩索,霎時頓斷。實證如J20nB098_p0509a04斯田地,正好借幻世為砂石,磨琢自己鋒利,隨緣了J20nB098_p0509a05卻,殘庚緣盡,分明落處。至囑!至囑!
復左督院心源
J20nB098_p0509a07遠承翰召,何感如之?僧平生溫飽自適,別無所長,何J20nB098_p0509a08辱名公大誨?海內真學道者,零落如辰星,此際豪傑J20nB098_p0509a09皆流入氣魄名障中,可嘆也。惟貴省之風不變一二,J20nB098_p0509a10大老尚肯以此事作家常茶飯,著實參究,此便是彌J20nB098_p0509a11勒內院矣。聞臺下常住雲門從姑間,僧不勝神往,正J20nB098_p0509a12法寂寥,無如今日安得跛阿師復出,欲打殺瞿曇以J20nB098_p0509a13報佛恩也。臺下想是雲門後身,故扶持正法藏,廣布J20nB098_p0509a14大法雨,令有情、無情同成佛道,諸佛出五濁惡世,真J20nB098_p0509a15不虛也。然眾生雖各具本性,不得時雨終不發生。望J20nB098_p0509a16公以當日靈山付囑,捨身弘法,無似戒禪師作東坡J20nB098_p0509a17嘮嚷,一生令空過也。想公必不深訝,惟堅固道心,千J20nB098_p0509a18里猶如覿面矣。

J20nB098_p0509a20適窺學問,已造窮崖,只欠撒手,幸念時不待人,猛於J20nB098_p0509a21百尺竿頭憤進一步,突出元身,歷劫煩惱無明當下J20nB098_p0509a22冰消瓦解,自是乘般若力,勿忘本願,正好垂手入廛,J20nB098_p0509a23于太平盛世大建鑪錘,煆得出一兩個鐵面無情漢,J20nB098_p0509a24續佛慧命以示後昆,使世、出世法悉賴劻佐,佛道、王J20nB098_p0509a25道不無梁棟,方同千古聖賢,以宇宙為家,物我一體,J20nB098_p0509a26憂人之憂、樂人之樂,苟一物不得其所,如箭入心,夢J20nB098_p0509a27寤無暇安者。今此法門,危如壘卵,誠難挽濟。惟居士J20nB098_p0509a28立地,推倒須彌,吞卻器界,舉足下足無心外法,方是J20nB098_p0509a29借王道而顯家風,真出窟獅子也。
復汪司馬靜峰
J20nB098_p0509b01幾欲扶笻,躬聆教益,柰不果所願,但遙望道風而已。J20nB098_p0509b02時臨像季,正法凋摧,慧宗一脈寥寥幾絕,海內法席J20nB098_p0509b03不無,然不免殊途異轍。居士夙植般若,親承授記,降J20nB098_p0509b04生末法,拯救群迷,正慧命懸絲之賴耳。所慮流光易J20nB098_p0509b05邁,天意人情變無常度,事在燃眉,寧容緩滯?惟妙運J20nB098_p0509b06玄機,與大地眾生抽釘拔楔、使參禪者毋沉妄見、念J20nB098_p0509b07佛者了悟唯心。言唯心者,別無淨土可生。若有可生,J20nB098_p0509b08又是頭上安頭,反添翳障。心土既淨,人境兩空,又有J20nB098_p0509b09誰作彼此去來之相?果然猛省,盡大地是無生,處處J20nB098_p0509b10成極樂國矣。欣厭總是自性三昧,纔不辜居士夙世J20nB098_p0509b11正因、生平造詣也。

J20nB098_p0509b13世人讀佛書,柰何不識題目。佛明說了義,人反執義。J20nB098_p0509b14玅湛總持是空名,萬事都是自己,只因執著為實,被J20nB098_p0509b15他障卻真空。忽爾猛省,不求人知,不顯己會,方是了J20nB098_p0509b16事漢。如安老讀《楞嚴》,一見便休,更不擬議,這便是看J20nB098_p0509b17經了事的樣子。惟居士功夫密切,摻履有年,秉金剛J20nB098_p0509b18劍,斬斷葛藤,直蹈妙湛總持、物我不動田地,內無奇J20nB098_p0509b19解、外絕淆訛,俗士庸流對面難識,到此始信十世古J20nB098_p0509b20今始終不離于妙湛,無邊剎海自他不隔于總持。迷J20nB098_p0509b21也是妙湛總持、悟也是妙湛總持,佛之出世、達磨西J20nB098_p0509b22來,得喪窮通、天翻地覆,總不出妙湛總持耳。恁麼省J20nB098_p0509b23力,誰肯向腳跟下驀地覷破,截卻知解,如見贓殺賊,J20nB098_p0509b24不生憐憫?今時學者柰何離不了元字腳,若從冊子J20nB098_p0509b25上領解的,問他已躬下事,便將冊子上話來抵對。若J20nB098_p0509b26是識見領覽的,問著便將識見抵對。若又與他拈卻,J20nB098_p0509b27便道黑漫漫地,怎生是好?殊不知黑漫漫處正是鬼J20nB098_p0509b28神覷不著處、三世諸佛安身立命處、從上老宿說滿J20nB098_p0509b29天下無口過處。惟有居士斷絕所知,通身妙湛,所以J20nB098_p0509b30居鄉數年亦無人識,不被得失遷動,方與傅大士把J20nB098_p0509c01手共行。不能時領清誨,是所恨耳。
復蔣文選蘭居
J20nB098_p0509c03來書云:百尺竿頭,腳軟不能更進,只得罷了,做佛、做J20nB098_p0509c04驢只是一樣。觀公意儘可罷休。何也?一切教典悉曉J20nB098_p0509c05會得,當機妙用亦不費力,一切淆訛使我不疑,諸世J20nB098_p0509c06間法瞞渠不過,儘自受用,只難免閻老子鐵棒。日用J20nB098_p0509c07伶俐分曉,機變解會,就是喫鐵棒的,從無量劫來把J20nB098_p0509c08主人引入輪迴六道,逞嘍囉,弄精魂,都是他。要得出J20nB098_p0509c09離生死,除非沒分曉、絕理路,前無村、後無店、傍無巴J20nB098_p0509c10鼻,那時無計可測,猛著精彩,聳身一擲,撒手懸崖,如J20nB098_p0509c11夢倏覺,更不作寐語矣。

J20nB098_p0509c13公出世來,有為功業今已了畢,出世大事又得入路,J20nB098_p0509c14行與不行在自斟酌。若真得的人,了萬法之本空,照J20nB098_p0509c15五蘊之非有。公今日用,過、現、未來三念果盡否?得失J20nB098_p0509c16了忘否?若有絲毫不盡,說得十分明白。不知全身坐J20nB098_p0509c17在世情窠裏,常被世情播弄,觸境逢緣,千思萬慮矣。
復李太守文臺
J20nB098_p0509c19性命緊要事,君子所當為,不可等待。官乃形衣,形是J20nB098_p0509c20心役,學道學心,役不妨主,何必林下而後為乎?不如J20nB098_p0509c21趁此色力尚強、精神尚壯,就中看這臨機應物的從J20nB098_p0509c22何處來。參來參去,有朝摸著自己面目,乘般若力,秉J20nB098_p0509c23智慧權,致君澤民,利莫大焉。如何怕做官就做不得J20nB098_p0509c24佛?秪因不識主人,隨逐識奴,引入四生六道,頭出頭J20nB098_p0509c25沒、驢胎馬腹,受形萬狀,豈有驢心、馬心,凡心、聖心耶?J20nB098_p0509c26佛之一字,乃覺之別名,不覺時我隨境轉,覺來,我能J20nB098_p0509c27轉物,又何得厭官而取佛乎?謬之甚也。要了此事,須J20nB098_p0509c28把死之一字懸在眼睫下,如墮萬丈坑要求出相似,J20nB098_p0509c29釘一確二,著實取究,莫類世流,僅附談柄而已。死生J20nB098_p0509c30事實,不是虛傳,足下死固未經,病已驗訖,誰有智者J20nB098_p0510a01坐以待之急好?于公署中指揮衙皁時、展覽文案時、J20nB098_p0510a02斷理詞訟時、與眷屬飲食寢息時,夢中主張不便、醒J20nB098_p0510a03來忽得神清翛然時,著意提撕。但凡神巧怜俐、卜度J20nB098_p0510a04思量可到之地都屬識神,出生入死全被這廝瞞昧,J20nB098_p0510a05當著眼看。除諸外,那個是文臺公的娘生面目?逐日J20nB098_p0510a06如斯提、如斯追、愈急愈追,追到個黑漫漫無巴鼻處,J20nB098_p0510a07正是好消息,慎勿厭倦就止。越教抖擻精神,單刀直J20nB098_p0510a08入,纔有一星好事來到,隨疾截去,窮到氣盡力微時,J20nB098_p0510a09是事又不明,心中如火熱相似,欲退不得、欲進無計,J20nB098_p0510a10正煩燥間忽地撞破黑漆桶子,瞥然一身冷汗迸出,J20nB098_p0510a11一道神光耀天耀地,始親見官也如是、佛也如是,亦J20nB098_p0510a12不貪生、亦不畏死,六道四生神通游戲,護國保民、封J20nB098_p0510a13尊襲裔、成佛作祖,總攝夢事,腐草奉瀆。
復瞿太守洞觀
J20nB098_p0510a15昔見公動轉輕便,言行相應,乃是累劫親受佛記,不J20nB098_p0510a16忘付囑者也,課誦三十餘年親肯方休。海內諸公雖J20nB098_p0510a17信禪學,只依見識聰明、利口辯論以為自得,忽逢禍J20nB098_p0510a18患就做主張不得。不知蔣公當此毀譽何如?這裏不J20nB098_p0510a19被幻境播弄,方得腳跟穩當,纔有參學的分。望公莫J20nB098_p0510a20捨弘誓願力,抖擻根塵,是非場裏挺身直入,救取一J20nB098_p0510a21個半個,纔是英雄出世的人也。
復陳稽勳蠡源
J20nB098_p0510a23近來日用何為?切莫守靜以為功課。若執久不化,貪J20nB098_p0510a24閑愛寂,懶接人事,日久月深,漸成偏枯之患,忽復遇J20nB098_p0510a25境當情,忻厭成礙,故云:見色聞聲不用聾。信得過,放J20nB098_p0510a26得下,神機應變自有天,則豈用人力為哉?林下日子J20nB098_p0510a27難得,不可虛閒空過,趁此究明,腳踏實地,一出仕途,J20nB098_p0510a28定不忙亂,纔是自在閑人也。
復顧孝廉
J20nB098_p0510a30聞尊翁臨終時說:「萬念俱非,功名產業、恩愛眷屬都J20nB098_p0510b01不相干,只有痛苦自當。」此言雖真切,不知真醒也未?J20nB098_p0510b02若果醒,如脫垢衣,隨念變化,來去自由,更不鑽胎入J20nB098_p0510b03腹,何有性命雙修?又聞令堂祝髮,何必如此?往時學J20nB098_p0510b04問,今在何處?塵俗之人,迷己逐物,錯認色身,故有留J20nB098_p0510b05戀。智人先覺,色身如影,何戀之有?若不信,且看夜間J20nB098_p0510b06睡著,無夢無想時,何處損滅得他?忽然響聲驚覺,就J20nB098_p0510b07認影忘真,以覺認覺,轉背轉遠。爾等只在知見上立J20nB098_p0510b08知,正是生死根本也。
復丘參將長孺
J20nB098_p0510b10公睿姿朗識,絕無俗懷,再來人也。第恐今入富貴中,J20nB098_p0510b11應接不暇,將從前自己事盡情忘卻了。惟急早回頭,J20nB098_p0510b12趁此熱鬧處作大休歇場,茶裏、飯裏,醒時、夢時,接待J20nB098_p0510b13時、休暇時,歡喜時、煩惱時,刻刻提起,把此一生了卻J20nB098_p0510b14萬劫大事,豈不快哉?恐富貴易過,轉盻間臘月三十J20nB098_p0510b15日到來,將何相抵敵也?公頗記十五年前夢中事否?J20nB098_p0510b16一切富貴眷屬,帶一些不去。止此孤身,又被他六賊J20nB098_p0510b17併害,好不怕人。就今二十年,戎馬功名霎時便過,又J20nB098_p0510b18豈能帶得去耶?若待臨時求佛,恐叫他不應,那時入J20nB098_p0510b19在六賊手中,任他毒弄,豈是大丈夫所為?若信得及,J20nB098_p0510b20提起便行,更莫躊躇,一朝大事了畢,方不枉知僧一J20nB098_p0510b21場也。
J20nB098_p0510b22又
J20nB098_p0510b23一別十有八年,今幸歸里,柰不及頻領清誨。公乃散J20nB098_p0510b24聖再來,遊戲人間,富貴利名借道便往,不掛胸次,渾J20nB098_p0510b25是逍遙快樂,恐未噴地猛醒,不達真樂,不免取境為J20nB098_p0510b26樂,常被變遷。若知真樂非境、真常不遷,方會死生一J20nB098_p0510b27致、寤寐一如,政使醒後豁然,不妨大地是個美人,吾J20nB098_p0510b28身亦滿大地,行住坐臥不見有美人相,亦不諱有美J20nB098_p0510b29人相,玩之弗為情、棄之弗為逆。不怕大地是口劍,吾J20nB098_p0510b30身亦周大地,行住坐臥不見有刃可避,方知無我相,J20nB098_p0510c01亦無心外之法也。終日入遼東戰陣,如帝釋處歡喜J20nB098_p0510c02園無異。若不猛醒,只學口說道理,殊不知正是長我J20nB098_p0510c03慢山、增荊棘林,功德法身從此沒矣。但願早翻過身J20nB098_p0510c04來,莫被境物留礙,是所望也。
復孫比部善長
J20nB098_p0510c06接手教,知公肆力此道不減昔時,真儒紳中麟鳳也。J20nB098_p0510c07老朽退居泉石久矣,日同二三野衲種田博飯,粗了J20nB098_p0510c08餘生。辱蒙《心經》,贅言見遺,展誦數過,嘆喜交集,既喜J20nB098_p0510c09其用心之篤,又嘆其知解迷失當人。公識《心經》乎?心J20nB098_p0510c10無名相亦無方所,從何處下註腳?縱註得語話分明、J20nB098_p0510c11道理透徹,終是圖畫虛空。況將心意識妄自合會,重J20nB098_p0510c12迷本經,攪起學人識浪,永無平息。心經兩字原是標J20nB098_p0510c13題,從觀自在以下總是註腳,曰無色、受、想、行、識,無眼、J20nB098_p0510c14耳、鼻、舌、身、意等,明明解出一部《心經》。若肯退步返照,J20nB098_p0510c15則言思路絕,聲臭俱泯,是何等自在。纔一舉心動念,J20nB098_p0510c16便屬知解活計,依舊打入五蘊窠窟裏。若終日依經J20nB098_p0510c17解義,說空頭話,臘月三十日到來,這個還抵敵他生J20nB098_p0510c18死得麼?莫說臘月三十,即今展角坐堂,臨民敷政,違J20nB098_p0510c19順二境卒至、喜怒之念乍興,這個能不被他互換得J20nB098_p0510c20麼?平昔見解文字,到這裏總用不著。除是偷心泯絕、J20nB098_p0510c21知見脫盡,也無事理可分、也無禪道可學,方稱無事J20nB098_p0510c22漢。你纔開口道個悟字,禍事不小,況乎覓印可求?向J20nB098_p0510c23上波波地,只要喫人涕唾,如何得自心般若大自在J20nB098_p0510c24菩薩真身出現也。
復蘇兵憲雲浦
J20nB098_p0510c26僧抱影寒崖,了此殘生耳,只將一場夢事每向人言,J20nB098_p0510c27其柰大夢何?昨睹與焦太史書,始知公以青眼視老J20nB098_p0510c28僧也。又云:某如寒灰雪照。恐錯認定盤星耳。何也?二J20nB098_p0510c29公才能博達,見超今古,某未讀書,德淺行微,出言莽J20nB098_p0510c30鹵,待人唯一鐵釘飯、木渣羹,誰肯下口咬嚼耶?每以J20nB098_p0511a01這腔熱血傾人,輒皆退席而謗。吁!舉世愛滋味、逞神J20nB098_p0511a02機,北轅南轍,兩不相符,即袁石公豈不稱相知者?但J20nB098_p0511a03詞章品藻,著述驚人,義海淵深,卓越群表,正眼觀來,J20nB098_p0511a04止在播弄神機,竟非了義,於威音那畔尚未夢見在。J20nB098_p0511a05臘月三十到來,管取一場熱鬧。即世尊為一大事因J20nB098_p0511a06緣出世,當機輒有證悟者,猶名止啼黃葉、德山斥為J20nB098_p0511a07拭不淨故紙。由是觀之,著述非究竟也。阿難將佛四J20nB098_p0511a08十九年說的記持,如瓶注水,毫無滲漏,又被迦葉擯J20nB098_p0511a09出,十五年後消化已盡,疑問迦葉:「世尊金襴外另傳J20nB098_p0511a10個甚麼?」忽被迦葉一拶,始覺無事。公具爍迦羅眼,超J20nB098_p0511a11越常流,肯作此見解耶?若到腳踏實地,大用現前不J20nB098_p0511a12存軌則,便能毀譽同情,生死混入,於此平等法門,轉J20nB098_p0511a13自己為山河大地,變草木為丈六金身,亦非分外。這J20nB098_p0511a14話見公相愛之甚,不過以毒攻毒耳。外有古宿牙劍J20nB098_p0511a15欠利,咬不盡渣滓,寄覽望公和根吞卻,免畔後人。言J20nB098_p0511a16外消息,願以示我。
復胡侍御催景
J20nB098_p0511a18接教後,無時不在左右,愧無定力,虛受幻質,無片刻J20nB098_p0511a19之寧,不得親領教旨。來云:燈不照燈、一不知一。又恐J20nB098_p0511a20同木石耳。若果真一,萬事畢矣。在天同天、在人同人,J20nB098_p0511a21彼此兩無,真體流行,變化莫測,到此總是未發之中,J20nB098_p0511a22一切名相絕跡無蹤矣,纔是曹溪印心之客。又譬眼J20nB098_p0511a23不見眼,門下見得甚明。僧觀此意,還只見物,未得真J20nB098_p0511a24眼。若得真眼,自然無物,何掃之有?所謂仁者被仁礙、J20nB098_p0511a25智者被智礙,百姓有不知在,總是自己知見立出許J20nB098_p0511a26多名色,障彼道眼不得自在耳。又云泯知塞見,若果J20nB098_p0511a27真省本來無物,耳自聰、眼自明,用泯塞作麼?鹵莽請J20nB098_p0511a28教,不知何如。

J20nB098_p0511a30讀來教,渾然一紙世、出世之津梁也。果踐其行,不惟J20nB098_p0511b01無許老僧湊泊,雖釋老復出,亦只得鉗口結舌而已。J20nB098_p0511b02如是而行,何世不治?何民不化?但出乎無心,物我一J20nB098_p0511b03體,取捨都無,洋洋蕩蕩,渾無拘束,總千遊戲場中打J20nB098_p0511b04場戲毬便了,又有何靜可忻?何鬧可厭?丈夫之行當J20nB098_p0511b05如是慷慨,喜則清風朗月,怒則迅雷疾霆,安同庸鄙J20nB098_p0511b06之流,兢兢業業,謬將此七尺軀甘作六寸烏紗之奴J20nB098_p0511b07耶?富貴兩字,皆係前定,希之不來、驅之不去,安排計J20nB098_p0511b08較,亦奚以為?世、出世無兩法,既能處世,亦能出世,卷J20nB098_p0511b09舒天則。醒醒然,自不涉夢中事,何假再提?然醒之一J20nB098_p0511b10字,因夢而言,豈有醒更醒者?如足下是石泓,安用再J20nB098_p0511b11覓石泓者哉?來云:纔一休息,輒如死人。第恐未得與J20nB098_p0511b12死人相似。若真得如死人,個中事畢矣。即此作用,便J20nB098_p0511b13是先賢捷徑功夫,但未純靜耳。久久摻煉得去,正好J20nB098_p0511b14藉此宦逕為題,作自己一篇出生脫死底緊要文章,J20nB098_p0511b15逐日思、逐日作,一朝打破空劫疑瓶,瀉出一韻天然J20nB098_p0511b16絕句,了割生平結局,胡敢不稱羨吾邑中又出一員J20nB098_p0511b17天資現成的享福人也?

J20nB098_p0511b19前因藏經行速,未得盡領教益。昨見公當此大任,於J20nB098_p0511b20富貴聲色、經世出世而兩全矣。非大乘根器、最上靈J20nB098_p0511b21苗,豈若是哉?信得率性,一切放下,率到未發處,自然J20nB098_p0511b22超于言語想相之外,不在人情事變之中,難以形容、J20nB098_p0511b23難以測度,不落有無、不墮生滅,本無向上、向下,利害J20nB098_p0511b24禍福無地可容矣。不知性命真竅原無定相,只因執J20nB098_p0511b25定已見伎倆、參合不知,纔要求妥,即屬情見。要明生J20nB098_p0511b26死源頭,只在一念未起處看得破,方省未發之中消J20nB098_p0511b27息。到此,朝聞夕死之說了了分明。

J20nB098_p0511b29接翰教,知邇者工夫急切,吾宗有所賴矣。來諭中,初J20nB098_p0511b30謂頗知入路,覺前見解皆非安心做去,以待大休歇J20nB098_p0511c01地末,希于懸崖處覓轉身消息。只此一問,首尾顛倒J20nB098_p0511c02者三,心外無人、人外無法,能安、能做、能休,彼此歷然J20nB098_p0511c03分明,是事與本體何干?既肯懸崖撒手,還容爾轉身J20nB098_p0511c04覓消息耶?近時學道者,纔發心時,先立個或禪、或道,J20nB098_p0511c05要去明他不知,纔有分曉,失卻本命元辰矣。隨打入J20nB098_p0511c06識群隊裏,將個識神去究他不識不知的,便謂是悟J20nB098_p0511c07處。殊不知只這不識不知的便是脫化不去的偷心,J20nB098_p0511c08喫閻老手中鐵棒者是。反引秘為,莫見乎隱、莫顯乎J20nB098_p0511c09微,了生脫死的極則事,甘墮他陰魔坑裏,自安自契,J20nB098_p0511c10雖千鈞氣力也拔渠不出,真為可憐憫者。足下出頭J20nB098_p0511c11來歷真切,為命迥不同類,奈何又被聰明魔使,向深J20nB098_p0511c12求苦索處著倒。若謂此事是求可得者,豈不謬哉!公J20nB098_p0511c13飲此毒久矣,此段事無多子,大過量人一覺便了,有J20nB098_p0511c14甚羈絆?何得拈一放一,展轉遲滯,多年摻持,猶戀舊J20nB098_p0511c15時行履?日月迅疾,百年勾當少分已去。若只如此用J20nB098_p0511c16卜,三十日事大可怖懼。不如趁早打開胸臟,將生平J20nB098_p0511c17學益得力的、狐疑不了的,通身放下,倒瀉無遺,直教J20nB098_p0511c18空蕩蕩地。驀忽衝開頂𩕳隻眼,照破微細識賊,猛揮J20nB098_p0511c19空王寶劍,勦絕我根株裔,親臨自己田地,纔覺一生J20nB098_p0511c20所蘊都成剩事矣。

J20nB098_p0511c22知公為學無不真切,奈何執己不返轉見參差。諸佛J20nB098_p0511c23在無中說有,卻向空裏栽花,明知故作,接引凡迷,所J20nB098_p0511c24以造幻軀、說幻法,游戲三昧,指眾生歸寶所。渠在有J20nB098_p0511c25中尋無,譬喻醒裏求夢,將巳求巳,豈不多事?幻有、幻J20nB098_p0511c26無,總是夢寐。思盡還源,方達無生之旨。這裏不醒,且J20nB098_p0511c27將趙州狗子無佛性話,行也無、坐也無,語默動靜總J20nB098_p0511c28是個無。有朝無到迴避不及處,失口道著,也未定在。

J20nB098_p0511c30來教云:他死明明,吾生昧昧,不知果何所考?觀公志J20nB098_p0512a01雖堅確,錯向門外去也。只在形跡上用工,要望臨行J20nB098_p0512a02得力,何可得哉?不惟難敵生死,偶逢利害毀譽,心不J20nB098_p0512a03驚恐顛倒,自難信也。近時學者不服本色鉗鎚,所以J20nB098_p0512a04勞而無功。海內諸公雖多好學,只用見識引證名言、J20nB098_p0512a05註解道理,何曾切為生死?若與相處,連道他三個不J20nB098_p0512a06是,心火巳有八分不快。古云:談真則逆俗,順俗則違J20nB098_p0512a07真。豈虛語哉?昔溈山問仰山:「汝迴光返照,那裏是你J20nB098_p0512a08解處?」仰云:「某到比,無圓位,何處有解獻和尚?」溈云:「纔J20nB098_p0512a09言無圓位,就是汝解處,誰肯無也?」若恁麼見,總是能J20nB098_p0512a10所心在,觸著病發,信位顯、人位隱在。公既錯愛,不覺J20nB098_p0512a11葛藤,如許石公所集攝錄,純是理路,義句新鮮,原從J20nB098_p0512a12見識中流出,所以見之無不契合,如子見母,不覺合J20nB098_p0512a13為一體也。老僧沒意智,不會織造,只有個栗棘蓬當J20nB098_p0512a14面放著,不但公不肯咬嚼,人人望影而退。古宿剩語,J20nB098_p0512a15數段奉覽,倘肯栽種,展轉流行,恐有沒量漢子,不顧J20nB098_p0512a16性命,望空一跳,未可知也。

J20nB098_p0512a18深山寂處,久不聞動靜,何如年來狂醜犯順,舉國懷J20nB098_p0512a19憂?時賴長城威伏,使林泉野衲高枕忘緣,總仗維持J20nB098_p0512a20之力耳。昔陽明先生奉命征討,每遇行兵之際,輒自J20nB098_p0512a21提撕,無不得力,故云:外寇既除,內賊隨勦。觀此老一J20nB098_p0512a22動一靜,念茲在茲,雖顛沛流離,亦不忘卻巳躬下事,J20nB098_p0512a23誠所謂痛為生死,借世煉心,不離殺場而證菩提榜J20nB098_p0512a24樣者也。居士乘悲願力,示現閻浮,為大地眾生作眼J20nB098_p0512a25目者,寄跡宦途,棲心禪理,深造其源,腳踏實地,山僧J20nB098_p0512a26服膺久矣。忽地經此利害之場,正得以照察玄微,不J20nB098_p0512a27識於利害兩種關頭,果得一如否?果無觸擾否?拂意J20nB098_p0512a28之事,卒然至時,果得如幻如化否?果然主人公不亂J20nB098_p0512a29方寸否?透得目前這一著關捩子過,雖百千萬億著J20nB098_p0512a30亦只如此。又云:昔年望侍郎不得,今侍郎望昔年同J20nB098_p0512b01在荒山又不可得也。觀此說話,欣厭未忘,分作兩重J20nB098_p0512b02公案看了。若得會萬法唯心、動靜一如,歷仕居鄉,皆J20nB098_p0512b03無不可。故孔子一契斯旨,便云:「朝聞道,夕死可矣。」他J20nB098_p0512b04因洞徹本源,便開口說大話瞞人,亦未有甚奇特處J20nB098_p0512b05也,秪在勦絕內賊,毋使外馳而已。近時學者病坐馳J20nB098_p0512b06求,出語尖新、落筆輕捷,處處疏通、字字花美,卒爾些J20nB098_p0512b07微拂意,便即手足無措,方寸早巳亂了,一毫皆不得J20nB098_p0512b08力。何故?蓋自巳未能徹證源頭,腳跟不曾點地,一向J20nB098_p0512b09只與人作個傳話漢耳。小修公久息音問,不審邇來J20nB098_p0512b10摻履何如?諒渠與居士個中人凡有新出商量,望以J20nB098_p0512b11示我。近得商令潘公拳拳以佛法見教,不至寂寞。其J20nB098_p0512b12人俠骨剛腸,英才豪氣,真不可及,倘得附洪鑪冶鑄,J20nB098_p0512b13法門梁棟定無疑矣。
