翠崖禪師語錄序
J40nB487_p0291a02世運隆替存乎數,法運盛衰關J40nB487_p0291a03于時,上下千古,恒相倚伏于其J40nB487_p0291a04際也。孝宗紹興年間,號南宋中J40nB487_p0291a05興,大慧禪師奉旨唱道徑山。及J40nB487_p0291a06吾寧育王,旺化多載,腳下龍象J40nB487_p0291a07九十有四,分布寰區。燈傳燈,派J40nB487_p0291a08衍派,所謂截瓊枝寸寸是玉,析J40nB487_p0291a09栴檀片片皆香。法運之盛,烜赫J40nB487_p0291a10一時。J40nB487_p0291a11今上御宇,化行中外,道重桑門。別J40nB487_p0291a12庵禪師以大慧十七世孫自西J40nB487_p0291a13蜀來寧,主普陀法席。予適以終J40nB487_p0291a14養還里,得與論道談心,良稱厚J40nB487_p0291a15善。剛十餘年,腳下龍象已三十J40nB487_p0291b01有餘,翠崖和尚其首出也。印心J40nB487_p0291b02後,即開法武林之永壽。未幾,入J40nB487_p0291b03閩過粵,弘法獅林。再遷燕都,主J40nB487_p0291b04觀音,領嘉興。說法如雲雨,棒喝J40nB487_p0291b05若雷霆,凡 王公卿士,莫不欽J40nB487_p0291b06崇道範,徵詰玄旨,直使普陀正J40nB487_p0291b07眼照天照地。運會之隆,固有定J40nB487_p0291b08數,遭遇斯時,豈屬偶然?翠公其J40nB487_p0291b09人,殆不可以尋常測矣。其四會J40nB487_p0291b10語錄若干卷,今檢其關于節要J40nB487_p0291b11者,登諸梨棗,丐序于予。予雖未J40nB487_p0291b12入宗門堂奧,然與公辱兩世交,J40nB487_p0291b13序曷能辭?語云:「得兔忘蹄,得魚J40nB487_p0291b14忘筌。」有能于語言文字之外得J40nB487_p0291b15公旨者,即視茲錄為筌蹄也亦J40nB487_p0291c01可。

J40nB487_p0291c12吾儒之道,綱維世教,人倫攸繫,聖J40nB487_p0291c13經賢傳,固足多也。雖諸子百家,不J40nB487_p0291c14必其理之純,而言之有裨於世,足J40nB487_p0291c15為經傳之羽翼者,皆能有以示來J40nB487_p0291c16茲,傳後世。釋氏之教,木鐸習俗,四J40nB487_p0292a01大本空,拈花會意,不立文字,使其J40nB487_p0292a02回心向道,毋滋障也。自達磨再傳,J40nB487_p0292a03而《信心銘》作,闡揚詳複,嗣是公案J40nB487_p0292a04語錄,盈於几閣,較富儒書。吁!亦盛J40nB487_p0292a05矣哉!翠崖和尚,本貫名族,夙秉慧J40nB487_p0292a06契,遍參諸方,得法於普陀之別庵J40nB487_p0292a07禪師。別庵者,繼高峰三山老人之J40nB487_p0292a08後,承大慧之傳者也。和尚既受付J40nB487_p0292a09囑,想慕其為人,其在浙之永壽寺J40nB487_p0292a10也,以眾紳之請;其駐錫豫之獅林J40nB487_p0292a11禪院也,以閩帥施侯之請;其禮五J40nB487_p0292a12臺,進長安,而入觀音禪院也,則應J40nB487_p0292a13貴戚之命。侍者裒其前後陞座之J40nB487_p0292a14語,彙若干卷,問敘於余。余伏念J40nB487_p0292a15聖天子乘金輪以御世,崇儒重佛,佑啟J40nB487_p0292a16禪宗,法幢遍於海內矣!其間或以J40nB487_p0292a17盲師瞽說,妄自稱尊,以博榮名利J40nB487_p0292a18養,未幾而剎竿旋倒。視翠公和尚,J40nB487_p0292b01真心莫二,玅契玄源,賢於庸眾遠J40nB487_p0292b02矣!且能通儒書,善屬文,可收為吾J40nB487_p0292b03黨也。昔雪浪恩公常言:「不讀萬卷J40nB487_p0292b04書,不知佛法。」吾於翠公,其信然哉!J40nB487_p0292b05若夫法語之揭大意、暢宗風,可信J40nB487_p0292b06今傳後,具法眼者,自能品題,固非J40nB487_p0292b07余之所知,而亦無俟余之多言也。J40nB487_p0292b08爰是以弁其首。

J40nB487_p0293a04康熙辛未十月初一日,師受縉紳毛公奇齡、汪公霦、J40nB487_p0293a05歸公起鳳等公請入院。
J40nB487_p0293a06山門。「二週遮,一徑直,樓閣門開,入不思議。」召眾云:J40nB487_p0293a07「相隨來也。」拽拄杖便入。
J40nB487_p0293a08佛殿。「本是家裏人,靈山曾覿面。一會儼然存,人天J40nB487_p0293a09悉皆見。」展具作禮。
J40nB487_p0293a10韋馱。「童真示現,願力弘深,破魔軍眾,擁護叢林。」炷J40nB487_p0293a11香,云:「大家出手,汝我同心。」
J40nB487_p0293a12伽藍。「祗樹花開,金磚布地,妙用神通。沙盆扶起。」遂J40nB487_p0293a13插香。
J40nB487_p0293a14祖師。「以心印心,會終不會。東土西天,成群作隊。黑J40nB487_p0293a15豆換人眼珠,也須自識慚愧。」
J40nB487_p0293a16據室。「承父業,遵嚴命,斬新條,行新令。」卓拄杖,云:「雷J40nB487_p0293a17轟電捲露全機,諸聖從茲重勘定。」
J40nB487_p0293a18即於是日請上堂。拈疏云:「珠玉聯輝,珪璋互映,光庇J40nB487_p0293a19叢林,維持法印。若向文彩未形之先薦得,不必重宣;J40nB487_p0293a20其或未然,分付維那剖露。」宣畢,指法座云:「開闡人天J40nB487_p0293a21大法王,從來遍界不曾藏,無端直踏毘盧頂,萬象騰J40nB487_p0293a22輝悉已彰。」喝一喝,遂陞。拈香云:「此一瓣香,至尊至貴,J40nB487_p0293a23最妙最玄,輝騰九有,普覆大千,爇向爐中,端為祝延J40nB487_p0293a24今上皇帝聖壽萬歲,伏願金輪永鎮,四海咸霑帝澤,寶J40nB487_p0293a25祚綿長,八方共仰皇風。」次拈香云:「此一瓣香,有物有J40nB487_p0293a26則,為鹽為梅,奉為滿朝文武、闔省尊官以及本郡縉J40nB487_p0293a27紳、當山請主,伏願棟梁朝宁,長為佛法金湯,契證般J40nB487_p0293a28若,同圓金剛種智。」次拈香云:「此一瓣香,中毒於白華J40nB487_p0293a29山頂,受殃於光熙峰下,直緣狹路相逢,故爾冤家頭J40nB487_p0293a30撞,幾回刀斧劈不開,今對人天親拈出,爇向爐中,專J40nB487_p0293b01伸供養,傳臨濟正宗第二十八世現住寧波府普陀J40nB487_p0293b02山鎮海堂上本師上別下菴統老和尚,用酬法乳。」斂J40nB487_p0293b03衣就座。高麗和尚白槌云:「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」J40nB487_p0293b04師豎拂子云:「於此未證,盲人摸象;於此未得,水中撈J40nB487_p0293b05月。還有親證親得者麼?不妨出眾相見。」問:「鐘鼓雷轟,J40nB487_p0293b06香煙雲布,和尚陞座即且置,如何是諸佛出身處?」師J40nB487_p0293b07云:「孤帆海上來。」進云:「兩堂龍象,位列分明,如何是普J40nB487_p0293b08利人天句?」師云:「杲日正當空。」進云:「竹密不妨流水過,J40nB487_p0293b09山高豈礙白雲飛?如何是向上句?」師云:「向下更分明。」J40nB487_p0293b10僧擬議,師便打。問:「如何是戒?」師云:「依教受持。」「如何是J40nB487_p0293b11▆?」師云:「矢心不二。」「如何是慧?」師云:「懞懂禪和。」問:「天上J40nB487_p0293b12月有缺有圓,誰人補得?」師打,云:「還須好手。」進云:「海中J40nB487_p0293b13水有消有長,那裏減增?」師云:「收放由誰?」僧喝,師打退,J40nB487_p0293b14乃云:「普陀栖隱住山人,破浪沖波至武林,滿月風光J40nB487_p0293b15渾漏洩,枝頭狼藉許多春。鳥啼花笑香風遍,柳展清J40nB487_p0293b16陰翠色新,六橋煙景誰無分?薄德深慚作主人。雖然J40nB487_p0293b17如是,今日勉應眾請,不免借拄杖子威光應箇時節。」J40nB487_p0293b18卓一卓,云:「舉起也,乾坤失色;放下也,瓦礫生光。攪長J40nB487_p0293b19河為酥酪,變大地作黃金,是山僧尋常用處。若是伶J40nB487_p0293b20俐漢,聞者般說話,一任冷地裏含笑;其或未然,剔起J40nB487_p0293b21眉毛仔細看,眼中切莫重添屑。」復舉:「臨濟住河北小J40nB487_p0293b22院,謂普化、克符二上座曰:『我欲於此建立黃檗宗旨,J40nB487_p0293b23汝二人須成褫我。』二人珍重下去。三日後,普化上來J40nB487_p0293b24問:『和尚三日前問甚麼?』師便打。三日後,克符上來問:J40nB487_p0293b25『和尚三日前打普化作甚麼?』師亦打。」師云:「臨濟老祖J40nB487_p0293b26大好拈提,可惜眼孔太窄。山僧於此建立普陀宗旨,J40nB487_p0293b27天下人悉皆成褫。若或問長問短,拄杖子一時分付。」J40nB487_p0293b28卓一卓。高麗和尚復結椎,云:「諦觀法王法,法王法如J40nB487_p0293b29是。」下座。
J40nB487_p0293b30當晚,小參。「盤山道:『向上一路,千聖不傳。』慈明道:『向上J40nB487_p0293c01一路,千聖不然。』徑山道:『向上一路,熱碗鳴聲。』者三箇J40nB487_p0293c02老漢各見一邊,今晚新永壽入院之初,將來捏作一J40nB487_p0293c03團供養大眾。千聖不傳,白浪滔天;千聖不然,陸地行J40nB487_p0293c04船;熱碗鳴聲,眼裏抽筋。且道山僧恁麼舉揚,三大老J40nB487_p0293c05還自甘也無?」
J40nB487_p0293c06立兩序,上堂。僧問:「入林不動草,入水不動波,如何是J40nB487_p0293c07左右逢源句?」師云:「任運騰騰皇化裏。」進云:「如何是般J40nB487_p0293c08若真體?」師云:「白雲飛過碧山頭。」進云:「如何是般若妙J40nB487_p0293c09用?」師云:「月明皎潔落波心。」僧擬議,師打退,乃云:「大坐J40nB487_p0293c10當軒行正令,祖翁田地一番新,沙盆竭力重提掇,出J40nB487_p0293c11手須憑好弟兄。楊岐輔慈明,監院三十載,相國侍筏J40nB487_p0293c12渡,執勞十七春,正脈傳千古,遍地多兒孫。所以,法隨J40nB487_p0293c13法行,法幢隨處建立,旃檀林裏旃檀、獅子窟中獅子,J40nB487_p0293c14若論箇事,人人可以擔荷、箇箇不妨承當。要行其事,J40nB487_p0293c15須得其人;既得其人,須行其事。聲氣相投、節拍相應,J40nB487_p0293c16方得法社永久、頹綱重整,派衍雙溪薄海、化行赤縣J40nB487_p0293c17神洲,不有英靈,誰相輔佐?且道憑何為驗?」良久,云:「雪J40nB487_p0293c18後始知松柏操,事難方見丈夫心。」
J40nB487_p0293c19元旦,祝 聖,上堂。「年新,月新,日新。大地山河,雲煙花J40nB487_p0293c20鳥,村橋野水,川陵溪谷,庭柯岸柳,樵歌牧唱,晴光物J40nB487_p0293c21▆,滿眼滿耳,一時俱新。直得堯風蕩蕩,舜日熙熙,萬J40nB487_p0293c22民樂業,四海晏清。且道林下釋子又且如何仰答J40nB487_p0293c23聖明?」起身,云:「全憑一句無私語,睿算彌隆億萬春。」
J40nB487_p0293c24元宵,上堂。「處處樓臺歌管,家家燈月交輝,藥師如來J40nB487_p0293c25在銀花火樹裏為諸仁者轉大法輪、演大法義,直得J40nB487_p0293c26森羅起舞、萬象揚眉,萬綠叢中醉倒風流公子,千紅J40nB487_p0293c27陌上遊遍豔冶佳人,金樽檀板行春令,喜逢佳節慶J40nB487_p0293c28豐年。且道衲僧分上一句如何舉唱?」以拂子擊香几,J40nB487_p0293c29云:「拈得一枝無孔笛,為君吹出萬年歡。」
J40nB487_p0293c30佛誕,上堂。問:「世尊未出母胎,度人已畢,因甚又上雪J40nB487_p0294a01山苦行六年?」師云:「不入驚人浪,難逢稱意魚。」進云:「文J40nB487_p0294a02殊是七佛之師,因甚出女子定不得?」師云:「四海浪平J40nB487_p0294a03龍睡穩。」進云:「罔明是初地菩薩,因甚出得女子定?」師J40nB487_p0294a04云:「九天雲盡鶴飛高。」進云:「出與不出相去多少?」師云:J40nB487_p0294a05「君在湘江頭,妾在湘江尾。」乃云:「未出母胎,度人已畢,J40nB487_p0294a06太平本是將軍定;既出母胎,指天指地,那許將軍見J40nB487_p0294a07太平?後有雲門要一棒打殺與狗子喫,也是路見不J40nB487_p0294a08平。諸兄弟!山僧恁麼批判,還有不甘者麼?出來道看。」J40nB487_p0294a09良久,云:「當斷不斷,反招其亂。」下座,拈拄杖,旋風打散。
J40nB487_p0294a10到溫州府廣福寺,雪塵法師六十壽,請上堂。問:「如何J40nB487_p0294a11是佛?」師豎起拂子。「如何是法?」師放下拂子。「如何是僧?」J40nB487_p0294a12師云:「禮拜著。」進云:壽「域弘開,風光滿目,法師分上又J40nB487_p0294a13且如何?」師云:「煙雲繞徑,松柏環庭。」乃云:「世間萬物皆J40nB487_p0294a14屬陰陽消長。」拈拄杖,云:「唯有木上座能為萬象主,不J40nB487_p0294a15逐四時凋。今日雪塵座主耳順之年,請山僧舉揚法J40nB487_p0294a16要,用報親恩。」卓一卓,云:「若向者裏識得落處,何恩不J40nB487_p0294a17報?何壽不增?雖然如是,山僧畢竟將何為祝?」擲下拄J40nB487_p0294a18杖,云:「好將日月為天眼,指出須彌作壽山。」
住江西戇州府長寧縣獅林禪院
J40nB487_p0294a20康熙甲戌四月初一日,入院說沙彌戒,值智安禪宿J40nB487_p0294a21六旬,徒方玉請上堂。拈香祝 聖畢,復拈香云:「此一J40nB487_p0294a22瓣香,根盤雙徑,枝發普陀,向大洋海中,被一陣惡風J40nB487_p0294a23吹到者裏。第二回拈出,專伸供養現住普陀鎮海堂J40nB487_p0294a24上本師別菴老和尚,以酬法乳。」斂衣就座。峰白大師J40nB487_p0294a25白槌訖,師云:「第一義早被峰白大師擊碎了也。若有J40nB487_p0294a26鼻孔通氣的,試向第二義中出來道看。」乃揮拂子云:J40nB487_p0294a27「諸方叢林,立玄立要,分主分賓。我者裏亦無玄要可J40nB487_p0294a28立,亦無賓主可分。」乃震威一喝云:「無量壽世尊來也。J40nB487_p0294a29優波離尊者即起于座,向前問訊云:『今日山中說戒,J40nB487_p0294a30敢請世尊廣說妙法,普利群生。』世尊云:『吾本無法可J40nB487_p0294b01說,汝亦無戒可傳。』復喝一喝云:『若人識此一喝,信受J40nB487_p0294b02奉行,說法傳戒已竟。』世尊說此法已,直得紗帽石點J40nB487_p0294b03頭,缽盂峰起舞,尊者作禮而退。諸人還信得及麼?若J40nB487_p0294b04信得及,慶壽喜逢開戒日,風雲龍虎際獅林。其或未J40nB487_p0294b05然,數完花甲子,又好從頭起。」結椎,下座。
J40nB487_p0294b06說比丘戒,監院曇馥上座同徒裔昌請上堂。問:「三壇J40nB487_p0294b07大戒即不問,三玄三要請師宣。」師云:「次第問來。」「如何J40nB487_p0294b08是第一玄?」師云:「腳踏威音前。」「如何是第二玄?」師云:「拄J40nB487_p0294b09杖點青天。」「如何是第三玄?」師云:「石虎抱兒眠。」進云:「如J40nB487_p0294b10何是第一要?」師云:「午夜關前假雞叫。」「如何是第二要?」J40nB487_p0294b11師云:「三腳蝦蟆入棧道。」「如何是第三要?」師云:「把斷聲J40nB487_p0294b12前一句好。」問:「如何是大海無魚?」師云:「箇箇成龍。」「如何J40nB487_p0294b13是大地無草?」師云:「虛空粉碎。」「如何是大富無糧?」師云:J40nB487_p0294b14「美食不中飽人餐。」「如何是大悟無道?」師云:「汝喚甚麼J40nB487_p0294b15作道?」進云:「昨夜霜風露消息,吹落林花三兩枝。」師云:J40nB487_p0294b16「可惜許。」問:「混沌未分,還有世界也無?」師云:「須彌翻白J40nB487_p0294b17浪。」進云:「父母未生,還有面目也無?」師云:「大海起紅塵。」J40nB487_p0294b18進云:「如何是一句中三玄?」師便喝。進云:「如何是一玄J40nB487_p0294b19中三要?」師便打。進云:「如何是親切句?」師云:「霞紅林展J40nB487_p0294b20幕,目白水生光。」進云:「如何是轉身句?」師云:「此去西天J40nB487_p0294b21十萬八千。」僧拂衲歸眾,師云:「看腳下。」問:「法無定相,遇J40nB487_p0294b22緣即宗。師子林禪戒雙行,和尚如何分付?」師云:「棒頭J40nB487_p0294b23有眼明如日。」進云:「箇箇腳跟點地,人人鼻孔遼天,因J40nB487_p0294b24甚又進三壇大戒?」師云:「要識真金火裏看。」進云:「萬仞J40nB487_p0294b25峰頭翻白浪,大洋海底起紅塵,和尚在甚麼處?」師揮J40nB487_p0294b26拂,云:「高著眼。」進云:「作家宗師,天然猶在。」師云:「讚歎有J40nB487_p0294b27分。」乃云:「丹霞說戒,人人掩耳而出,可見風流出當家;J40nB487_p0294b28獅林說戒,貴圖直下承當,獅子自然知返擲。雖然,用J40nB487_p0294b29處不同,箇裏何曾有別?」豎拂子,云:「會麼?若向者裏會J40nB487_p0294b30得分明,千華臺上盧舍那佛嘗向汝等面門出入,一J40nB487_p0294c01朝洗面,摸著鼻孔,淨裸裸、赤灑灑,本來清淨,何處污J40nB487_p0294c02染?吾亦無戒可傳,汝亦無戒可受。其或未然,十重四J40nB487_p0294c03十八輕,波逸提應當學。一一受持,二時粥飯,切莫忘J40nB487_p0294c04卻缽盂匙箸。」下座。
J40nB487_p0294c05佛成道日說菩薩戒,秀巖上座領副戎黃公廷棟請J40nB487_p0294c06上堂。「當年臘月八日,世尊于雪山夜睹明星,忽然大J40nB487_p0294c07悟,成等正覺。正當今日,秀巖禪人募衣領黃檀越入J40nB487_p0294c08山作大功德,成就諸人三壇大戒,且喜靈山一會儼J40nB487_p0294c09然未散。諸人還見麼?若見,且道昔日成道與今日圓J40nB487_p0294c10戒是同耶?是別耶?向者裏分剖得,許汝諸人具半隻J40nB487_p0294c11眼;若分剖不得,亦許汝具半隻眼。何故?明星午現眼J40nB487_p0294c12生花,一年一度臘月八。」
住京都觀音禪寺
J40nB487_p0294c14結制,祗園主陶公克兔仝夫人明用、明專請上堂。拈J40nB487_p0294c15香云:「此一瓣香,乾坤藏不得,大地豈能收?爇向爐中,J40nB487_p0294c16端為祝延J40nB487_p0294c17今上皇帝萬歲萬歲萬萬歲,伏願J40nB487_p0294c18 皇太后慈壽無疆, 皇太子諸王克仁克孝。」再拈J40nB487_p0294c19香云:「此一瓣香,如金如玉、如珪如璋,爇向爐中,奉為J40nB487_p0294c20滿朝文武、闔國公侯、本寺檀越等,伏願高增祿位,綿J40nB487_p0294c21衍福基。」次拈香云:「此一瓣香,昔在南海山中截斷眾J40nB487_p0294c22流,水泄不通;今向長安城裏作浪興波,普天匝地。第J40nB487_p0294c23三回拈出,供養現住南海普陀鎮海堂上本師別菴J40nB487_p0294c24統和尚,用酬法乳。」斂衣就座。足雨和尚白椎畢,師卓J40nB487_p0294c25拄杖云:「山僧者一條楖栗,今日要與越格英靈相見,J40nB487_p0294c26有麼?有麼?」僧出問:「第一義諦即不問,三玄三要請師J40nB487_p0294c27宣。如何是第一玄?」師云:「鐵牛打鞦韆。」「如何是第二玄?」J40nB487_p0294c28師云:「木馬上高竿。」「如何是第三玄?」師云:「石女笑簷前。」J40nB487_p0294c29進云:「如何是第一要?」師云:「放出沖天鷂。」「如何是第二J40nB487_p0294c30要?」師云:「杲日當空照。」「如何是第三要?」師云:「誰通一線J40nB487_p0295a01道?」乃云:「昔日泗洲大聖在揚州出現,今朝南海大士J40nB487_p0295a02在長安出現。」驀豎拄杖:「看看,在山僧拄杖頭邊高聲J40nB487_p0295a03叫道:『善來,大眾!新長老到此安禪結制,與汝諸人點J40nB487_p0295a04出金剛正眼,闡明少室真機,煉凡成聖,點鐵作金,汝J40nB487_p0295a05等皆當作佛。』諸人還信得及麼?若信得及,自是一聞J40nB487_p0295a06千悟;其或未然,且向三條椽下、七尺單前挨拶將去,J40nB487_p0295a07驀地冷灰中爆出一粒豆來,原來秪是者箇。且道:如J40nB487_p0295a08何是者箇聻?」良久,云:「鴛鴦繡出從君看,不把金鍼度J40nB487_p0295a09與人。」結椎,下座。
J40nB487_p0295a10元旦,祝 聖,上堂。「乾元伊始,萬物咸新,燈籠作舞,露J40nB487_p0295a11柱歡騰。五鳳樓前歌 聖德,山河大地沐堯仁。風以J40nB487_p0295a12時,雨以時,野老相逢開笑面,普天同慶太平春。且道J40nB487_p0295a13酬恩一句又作麼生道?」豎拂子作捧笏勢,云:「萬歲,萬J40nB487_p0295a14歲,萬萬歲。」
J40nB487_p0295a15刺血書蓮經兼為法慧剃度,上堂。「欲識佛法大意,無J40nB487_p0295a16論是僧、是俗,是男、是女,單單只要一箇信字。信者,成J40nB487_p0295a17佛之本源,入道之階梯。所以,世尊捨金輪王位而上J40nB487_p0295a18雪山,由于此信;末後苦行六年,夜睹明星,豁然大悟J40nB487_p0295a19而成正覺,由于此信;達磨西來,少林面壁,神光斷臂,J40nB487_p0295a20為法忘軀,皆由此信;臨濟大師在黃檗處喫三頓痛J40nB487_p0295a21棒,向大愚肋下還拳,皆由此信。只如諸人者裏結冬、J40nB487_p0295a22那邊過夏,朝參暮究,欲求見性,也只是此信;今日法J40nB487_p0295a23慧割愛辭親,苦求披剃,也只是此信;又如王居士喜J40nB487_p0295a24助山僧刺血書經六萬餘言,字字從舌尖上吐出,若J40nB487_p0295a25男、若女,遠近聞風而至,也只是此信。且人人本來是J40nB487_p0295a26佛,皆因不信,永墮輪迴,升沉苦海。故此一箇信字,若J40nB487_p0295a27人體究親切,受用無窮。雖然……」豎拂子,云:「還須信得者J40nB487_p0295a28箇始得。者箇且作麼生信?任從桑海變,終不為君通。」J40nB487_p0295a29擲拂子,下座。
J40nB487_p0295a30書經圓期,眾信請上堂。「乾坤之內,宇宙之間,中有一J40nB487_p0295b01寶,秘在形山。古人與麼道,未免釘樁搖櫓。山僧不然,J40nB487_p0295b02乾坤之內,宇宙之間,中有一寶,秘在此經。」遂以兩手J40nB487_p0295b03作托呈勢,云:「若人識得此經,即是識得此寶;識得此J40nB487_p0295b04寶,便乃識得此經。要知此經,天得之以化育萬物,地J40nB487_p0295b05得之而五穀豐登,君王得之坐享太平,士大夫得之J40nB487_p0295b06福慧高增,現前諸人得之心地開明。秪如山僧得之J40nB487_p0295b07又且如何?有時在長安市上吟風嘯月,有時在五鳳J40nB487_p0295b08樓前轉大法輪。大眾!此經有如是利益,還有人識得J40nB487_p0295b09麼?如無,山僧與說一偈:若人識此經,即是佛受用,常J40nB487_p0295b10在于其中,經行及坐臥。」
J40nB487_p0295b11觀音大士誕日,上堂。「觀音大士於威音王前,從聞、思、J40nB487_p0295b12修入三摩地,爾時作佛已竟,無量劫來本無生滅,說J40nB487_p0295b13甚今日降生?」驀豎拄杖,云:「拄杖子聽得,𨁝跳出來道:J40nB487_p0295b14『長老!莫謾人好。盡大地人那箇不知大士誕日?』山僧J40nB487_p0295b15向他道:『木上座!你那裏會得?』你若會得,求男女、得男J40nB487_p0295b16女,求官位、得官位,求長壽、得長壽,求富饒、得富饒,決J40nB487_p0295b17不虛語。脫或未然……」展兩手,云:「將錢買胡餅,放下手卻J40nB487_p0295b18是饅頭。」
J40nB487_p0295b19解制,上堂。「九旬禁足,三月安居。有結有解,叢林定制。J40nB487_p0295b20一向來與諸兄弟眉毛廝結,未免縛腳縛手。即今放J40nB487_p0295b21開一線,一任東去西去。雖然踏遍天涯,依舊不離當J40nB487_p0295b22處。咄!」
J40nB487_p0295b23佛誕,上堂。「今日四月八,香湯浴悉達,一瓢惡水驀頭J40nB487_p0295b24澆,莫道山僧手段辣。指天指地枉稱尊,雲門一棒要J40nB487_p0295b25打殺,檢點將來,正是臨崖看滸眼,特地一場愁。眾中J40nB487_p0295b26還有與世尊雪屈者麼?不妨出來知恩報德。」良久,云:J40nB487_p0295b27「如無,山僧自道去也。帝王自有擎天略,不動干戈定J40nB487_p0295b28太平。」
住京都嘉興禪寺
J40nB487_p0295b30康熙丁丑八月初十日,受趙府董氏大夫人暨監院J40nB487_p0295c01孝先上座請入院。
J40nB487_p0295c02三門。「解脫門開,七通八達,未到長安,早已踏過了J40nB487_p0295c03也。」拽拄杖便入。
J40nB487_p0295c04伽藍。「舊伽藍,新長老,賓主同心,湊合恰好。一箇破J40nB487_p0295c05沙盆,扶起莫放倒。」
J40nB487_p0295c06祖師。「折蘆過江,闔國人追;少林面壁,隻履西歸。伎J40nB487_p0295c07倆般般已做盡,堂中冷坐更何為?」
J40nB487_p0295c08大殿。「夜夜同眠,朝朝共起。今日相見,仍無彼此。本J40nB487_p0295c09是家裏人,因我得禮你。」
J40nB487_p0295c10方丈。「據此方丈,佛祖不讓,諸人到此,箇箇喫棒。且J40nB487_p0295c11道:新長老具何手眼者般利害?」卓拄杖,云:「把柄在手,J40nB487_p0295c12多收少放。」
J40nB487_p0295c13當日請上堂。師拈啟請云:「一切修多羅,無量微妙義J40nB487_p0295c14總在裏許,還信得及麼?若信不及,再煩維那宣過。」宣J40nB487_p0295c15畢,師指法座云:「者箇寶花王座,生生常坐,世世常登,J40nB487_p0295c16今日不妨錦上鋪花,平地登高去也。」便陞。拈香祝J40nB487_p0295c17聖畢,復拈香云:「此一瓣香與南海老漢拖犁拽耙、穿J40nB487_p0295c18閩過粵,今日向長安市上呵佛罵祖,償他宿債不了,J40nB487_p0295c19第四回拈出,專伸供養現住普陀山鎮海堂上別菴J40nB487_p0295c20老和尚,用酬法乳之恩。」斂衣就座。聖心和尚白椎云:J40nB487_p0295c21「法筵龍象眾,當觀第一義。」師云:「爐鞴新開,烹佛煉祖,J40nB487_p0295c22若有銅頭鐵額漢,不妨出來與拄杖子相見。」問:「今日J40nB487_p0295c23和尚入院,畢竟有何祥瑞?」師云:「彩雲扶日出,玉露滴J40nB487_p0295c24天開。」進云:「五家宗旨憑師唱,畢竟還歸那一宗?」師云:J40nB487_p0295c25「一句該玄要,千機絕覆藏。」進云:「恁麼則千溪萬派皆J40nB487_p0295c26歸海,四塞八蠻朝帝都。」師云:「闍黎觀光有分。」乃云:「古J40nB487_p0295c27佛家風原歸大人境界,大人境界方顯古佛家風,所J40nB487_p0295c28以法隨法行,法幢隨處建立,法無定相,遇緣即宗。今J40nB487_p0295c29孝先上座暨趙府護法敦請山僧承乏茲山,只得勉J40nB487_p0295c30應時機,一番展演去也。」豎拂子,云:「會麼?若道是拂子,J40nB487_p0296a01認奴作郎;若道不是拂子,證龜成鱉;若道拈來便用,J40nB487_p0296a02抓沙抵水;若道總不恁麼,開眼作夢。直饒你直下承J40nB487_p0296a03當,猶喫山僧痛棒。畢竟喚作甚麼乃得相應去?」擊禪J40nB487_p0296a04床,云:「擊開千佛頂𩕳眼,放出威音劫外春。」復舉:「世尊J40nB487_p0296a05在天宮說法,一日示隨色摩尼珠,問五方天王曰:『此J40nB487_p0296a06珠作何色?』五方天王各說異色,世尊乃藏珠入袖,卻J40nB487_p0296a07抬手,曰:『此珠作何色?』天王曰:『佛手中無珠,何處有色?』J40nB487_p0296a08世尊歎曰:『汝何迷倒之甚?我將世珠示汝,汝便各說J40nB487_p0296a09有青、黃、赤、白等色;我將真珠示汝,卻總不知。』時五方J40nB487_p0296a10天王悉皆悟道。」師云:「世尊把五方天王當面熱瞞,未J40nB487_p0296a11識是何心行?今日山僧入院之初,雖有一寶珠,不敢J40nB487_p0296a12復蹈前轍。何故?黃金自有黃金價,終不和沙賣與人。」J40nB487_p0296a13聖心和尚復白槌,云:「諦觀法王法,法王法如是。」下座。
J40nB487_p0296a14當晚小參。舉:「會祖偈云:『楊岐初住屋壁疏,滿床盡撒J40nB487_p0296a15雪珍珠,蹜卻項,暗嗟吁,翻憶古人樹下居。』山僧亦有J40nB487_p0296a16一偈:嘉興初住絕親疏,大富無糧米似珠,道不窮,何J40nB487_p0296a17嗟吁,銅頭鐵額與同居。且道與楊岐老祖相去多少?」
