J39nB441_p0285a02迦文之道,自菩提達磨來我東華,至臨濟為大振,徑J39nB441_p0285a03山為再振。山十四傳及明啟禎間,而有聚雲吹萬老J39nB441_p0285a04人,宗風丕顯,聲藉一時。吾蜀自宋元以來,未有能或J39nB441_p0285a05之先也。老人高弟有三,首曰慶忠鐵壁禪師,如聖門J39nB441_p0285a06之顏子。予童時即聞其名,錦江玉壘,上至王侯卿士,J39nB441_p0285a07下及黎庶編氓,無不欽承折服。師出世三十餘載,均J39nB441_p0285a08嗣法者,自朝宰士夫而外,親承入室僅十八人,童真J39nB441_p0285a09和尚居第十焉。師乃吾郡相國江公之後,太守年伯J39nB441_p0285a10海籌公之少子也,與予稱世好。師自髫時,穎異絕人,J39nB441_p0285a11能目過成誦。予嘗下之先年伯,靡不以隆顯是望,而J39nB441_p0285a12師淡如也。三十年來,鴈杳魚沉。辛酉之春,客有來京J39nB441_p0285a13師者,以師語錄見示,予且駭之,始知師荷擔釋門,為J39nB441_p0285a14一代知識,承徑山之後矣。嘗憶予與師窗下時,每談J39nB441_p0285a15世外空宗之學,則津津然,而於政事文章,則藐焉頤J39nB441_p0285a16佇。退而與家君言之,安知今日之舉,豈非疇昔之意J39nB441_p0285a17也哉?信之出世丈夫,果富貴功名之所難單,威武貧J39nB441_p0285a18賤之莫屈移,先儒之言,誠不誣矣。間讀傳燈,見崔欽J39nB441_p0285a19因緣,謂出家乃大丈夫事,雖將相有所不能,予以為J39nB441_p0285a20妄。今覲禪師,以高門華胄,如是體才,蚤能擺脫紅塵,J39nB441_p0285a21秕糠富貴,上躋祖域,成一代之宗師,豈非大丈夫也J39nB441_p0285a22哉?予也桎梏一官,碌碌塵勞,日月逝兮,去師遠矣。何J39nB441_p0285a23時解此束縛,與師相聚於古松流泉間,一洗塵纓,是J39nB441_p0285a24所願也。至語錄一道,予且未夢,安敢負水河濱,置糞J39nB441_p0285a25佛頭?聊述師之始末,為同人輩一臻勸善云爾。

J39nB441_p0285b12大慧老人說法,如雲如雨,語錄三十卷,具存龍藏,參J39nB441_p0285b13學家尊為天球河圖。一披其書,宛若面命耳提,傳燈J39nB441_p0285b14所載,能有幾人?竊怪其嗣裔寂寥,淨慈以下,不見燈J39nB441_p0285b15錄,意必有默契潛證,克家嫡傳者,隱於山陬海澨,如J39nB441_p0285b16西山、大梅其人,而吾又未之見也。今年公車罷後,自J39nB441_p0285b17孝昌抵漢陰,買舟東歸,借宿九蓮僧舍。或謂予曰:「此J39nB441_p0285b18間有一禪師,嗣法大慧,子知之乎?」予愕然曰:「天下寧J39nB441_p0285b19有是哉?大慧去今五百年矣,安所授受,得母謬歟?或J39nB441_p0285b20者英彥挺生,從大慧錄中打失眉毛,飲水溯源,不忘J39nB441_p0285b21所自,因而遙承,如古塔主之嗣雲門者,殆未可知也。」J39nB441_p0285b22次日,走晴川,詣臥雲,問所謂童真和尚者,闃然不在,J39nB441_p0285b23止晤一雲水上人,坐而詢焉。答曰:「非謬也,亦非遙承J39nB441_p0285b24也。蓋大慧之嫡嗣,隱於梁岷之間,累代不絕,元元本J39nB441_p0285b25本,灼有定據,此則其後裔耳。」予益加迷悶,愕然曰:「天J39nB441_p0285b26下寧有是哉?大慧去今五百歲矣,繩武繼徽,燈錄缺J39nB441_p0285b27如,即有授受,安所憑藉歟?」終夕躊躕,不遑安寢。詰朝,J39nB441_p0285b28再走晴川,詣臥雲,披簾啟戶,而童真和尚儼然迎焉。J39nB441_p0285b29觀其狀貌,莊而且和;聆其言辭,條而有章。考其付受J39nB441_p0285b30之次第,自西禪需傳鼓山永、永傳淨慈明、明傳苦日J39nB441_p0285c01益、益傳筏渡慈、慈傳一言顯、顯傳小菴密、密傳二仰J39nB441_p0285c02欽、欽傳無念有、有傳荊山寶、寶傳鐵牛遠、遠傳月明J39nB441_p0285c03池、池傳吹萬真、真傳鐵壁機,迄十五代,確而有證。閱J39nB441_p0285c04其祖先之錄,暢而有文,廣而不雜,宏而不肆。既乃讀J39nB441_p0285c05其開法之語與贈答之偈,豁然而曠達,秀外而惠中,J39nB441_p0285c06波瀾大,見識寬,所謂善說法要,稱法性說。其母乃大J39nB441_p0285c07慧再來乎?不然,何以酷肖若祖也?嗟乎!今天下紹臨J39nB441_p0285c08濟者,虎丘一枝,獨步震旦而已。即斷橋而下,猶且若J39nB441_p0285c09存若滅,渾無稽考,矧慧祖之後,久而鮮徵,其能免於J39nB441_p0285c10悠悠之疑論乎?然則童真和尚當絕續之關,履方新J39nB441_p0285c11之會,振千載已墜之緒,乘一絲九鼎之勢,危同投子、J39nB441_p0285c12微等風穴,挽頹綱而振新猷,剪稠林以扶落暉,予安J39nB441_p0285c13能不重望之和尚哉?其函出之,以告叢林,母令徑山J39nB441_p0285c14窌塔久淹豐艸也。

J39nB441_p0286b04康熙七年夏六月,師在鄂州大別山臥雲庵受請,八J39nB441_p0286b05月初九日進院。
J39nB441_p0286b06三門。「一椎便就,已落二三,把斷要津,不通凡聖。既J39nB441_p0286b07不通凡聖,作麼生入?山僧有箇方便,汝等一齊隨我J39nB441_p0286b08進來。」
J39nB441_p0286b09佛殿。「坐斷報化的人,且向左邊著;掃蕩建立之士,J39nB441_p0286b10且向右邊著。新長龍到來,不圖色色丕顯,且要齊整J39nB441_p0286b11門風。」旋顧左右云:「我觀法王法,法王法如是。」
J39nB441_p0286b12護法殿。師良久,云:「此是吉祥處,此是解脫處,是止J39nB441_p0286b13處、集處,汝等一齊來到。如一不到,笤帚柄鄲與三十。」
J39nB441_p0286b14祖師殿。「日月星辰趁向西,山川艸木趁向東,你者J39nB441_p0286b15一隊無孔鐵錘置之何處?」高聲云:「且待冷來看。」
J39nB441_p0286b16僧堂。「烹佛烹祖大爐韝,鍛凡鍛聖惡鉗錘。要汝諸J39nB441_p0286b17人立地搆去、兩肩荷去。若作佛法商量,說甚鎮州出J39nB441_p0286b18曹門。」
J39nB441_p0286b19方丈。「八萬四千金毛一時擒下,九十六種異類掃J39nB441_p0286b20向一邊。新長龍到來,不貴屈辱家風,且圖天下衲僧J39nB441_p0286b21永脫窩臼,箇箇[髟/吒]髿地。」喝一喝。
J39nB441_p0286b22上堂。至座前,拈請疏,召大眾,云:「澴川諸大護法從不J39nB441_p0286b23思議塵劫以來所積光明種子,自古及今更無一人J39nB441_p0286b24正眼覷著,今日於沒所見處偷窺一看,只得無地藏J39nB441_p0286b25身,文彩彌露。諸上座還見麼?若見,不勞山僧特地舉J39nB441_p0286b26揚,乘便下坡,正在此時;如或未然,不妨通一線道。」喝J39nB441_p0286b27一喝,遂陞。拈香云:「這瓣香,光凝四域,潤澤兩間,贊高J39nB441_p0286b28厚之勳猷,續羲黃之鼎算,熱向罏中,端為祝延J39nB441_p0286b29今上皇帝聖躬萬歲,伏願金輪倍御,寶馬時臨。」又拈J39nB441_p0286b30云:「這瓣香,卷舒自在,縱奪臨時,奉為蒲朝文武、本省J39nB441_p0286c01護法、在隱在顯諸大金湯、現前四眾等,惟願夔龍再J39nB441_p0286c02▆,歌南風於舜田;伊呂重逢,頌棠樹於周道。」末上拈J39nB441_p0286c03云:「前月臥雲已曾熏著,事無重科,撿點將來,未為分J39nB441_p0286c04外,敬為 現住西川重慶府巴子城東治平堂上傳J39nB441_p0286c05曹溪正脈三十一世慶忠老和尚,以酬法乳。」眉山和J39nB441_p0286c06尚白椎,師拈拄杖畫一畫,云:「不得過限。眾中有作家J39nB441_p0286c07戰將麼?」僧問:「簡堂重興,法令初行,把住關頭,如何進J39nB441_p0286c08步?」師便喝,進云:「且莫漏洩。」師又喝,僧歸位,師復喝。又J39nB441_p0286c09僧問:「一曲陽春若共相和,只如泗洲大聖、揚州出現J39nB441_p0286c10意旨如何?」師云:「萼前柳後,溪西溪東。」進云:「為復神通J39nB441_p0286c11妙用?為復法爾如然?」師云:「山僧從無這箇消息。」進云:J39nB441_p0286c12「明月堂前無影木,臥雲深處露全枝。」師云:「你看亦無J39nB441_p0286c13分。」進云:「高提祖印、法幢始建且置,心一上座迎登寶J39nB441_p0286c14位一句又作麼生施設?」師云:「山僧正荅汝。」進云:「人天J39nB441_p0286c15有頓去也。」師云:「這一箭射不著。」乃云:「善言言不及J39nB441_p0286c16處,切忌商量;善跡跡不到處,罔通消息。露迥迥,山明J39nB441_p0286c17水秀;風浩浩,日往月來。只得忘聲於色、忘形於物,衲J39nB441_p0286c18僧門下正好買艸鞋行腳。不見道:善言言者,言所不J39nB441_p0286c19能言;善跡跡者,跡所不能跡。既無言,又無跡,長龍拄J39nB441_p0286c20杖子無端惡發,直過恒沙世界之外,驚動妙喜佛土,J39nB441_p0286c21三千世界剎海震動,不動如來出大音聲普告四眾:J39nB441_p0286c22『過此無數阿僧祗世界,有國名娑婆、剎名長龍,新長J39nB441_p0286c23老出世慣打葛藤。』」驀收杖,云:「今日剛纔入山入事朱J39nB441_p0286c24盡無端,脫空妄語成甚麼事?不見道:真龍行處,雲雨J39nB441_p0286c25自隨。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB441_p0286c26進退兩序,上堂。拈拄杖,云:「辨龍蛇眼,擒虎兕機,固是J39nB441_p0286c27衲僧日用尋常事。新長龍號令初行,條章約法不同J39nB441_p0286c28小小,所有僧堂裏風穴、廚堂裏雪峰、客堂裏重顯、磨J39nB441_p0286c29房裏法演、淨房裏佛日、侍寮裏洪準,一齊歸向拄杖J39nB441_p0286c30頭上,任渠寬行大步,隨緣自在。且道奇特在甚麼處?」J39nB441_p0287a01靠拄杖,云:「有意氣時添意氣,不風流處也風流。」
J39nB441_p0287a02開罏,上堂。僧問:「罏韝未開,寒光寂寂;鉗錘既動,烈焰J39nB441_p0287a03騰騰。淆訛在甚麼處?」師曰:「還聞流水聲麼?」進云:「不設J39nB441_p0287a04二途的,到來作麼生鍛煉?」師曰:「半是秋兮半是風。」曰:J39nB441_p0287a05「若然,剿把斷要津,鍼劄不入去也。」師便打,僧喝,師又J39nB441_p0287a06打。副寺問:「三十年家風安置何處?」師曰:「茶鹽錢該多J39nB441_p0287a07少?」曰:「作麼生用?」師曰:「你分上事也不知。」曰:「太平本是J39nB441_p0287a08將軍定聻?」師曰:「還要第二杓麼?」乃曰:「譬如鴈過長J39nB441_p0287a09空,影沉寒水,天衣老人大似釘樁搖櫓,看來看來,果J39nB441_p0287a10是果是。何以故?一二三四五,倒指河沙數,雪竇聞之,J39nB441_p0287a11直退三千里,緩緩道箇拈卻一、去卻七,上下四維無J39nB441_p0287a12等匹。」
J39nB441_p0287a13當晚小參。喝一喝,云:「便恁麼去,佇見冰消瓦解,大眾J39nB441_p0287a14各自歸堂。」又喝一喝,云:「全生全殺,雙放雙收,入林不J39nB441_p0287a15動艸,入水不動波。」復喝一喝,云:「密能如是,當下插標,J39nB441_p0287a16紹立宗緒,合水和泥,便向一莖艸上現瓊樓玉殿,更J39nB441_p0287a17無玉殿瓊樓之量。」召眾,云:「昔臨濟老人於河北建立J39nB441_p0287a18黃檗宗旨,據他本文約有四喝,山僧是他直下遠孫,J39nB441_p0287a19於茲建立臨濟宗旨,只用三喝。汝等諸人若於三喝J39nB441_p0287a20之下搆取得去,便知從上本文元無少剩;如或未爾,J39nB441_p0287a21不免泥水葛藤,重理舊案。所以道:有時先照後用,有J39nB441_p0287a22時先用後照。」喝一喝,云:「當時會中若下得這一喝,免J39nB441_p0287a23被後人撿點。」又舉四喝、四賓主、三句料揀等,師又喝J39nB441_p0287a24一喝,云:「當時會中若下得這一喝,亦免被後人撿點。」J39nB441_p0287a25復喝一喝,云:「自唐至今,有無數善知識出興於世,拈J39nB441_p0287a26提者不少,其實發揚先聖本文者能有幾人?今夜與J39nB441_p0287a27諸人同在山中激揚斯事,不合傍若無人,敲骨打髓,J39nB441_p0287a28平空鍬窟,平地挖坑,引惹將來,重重撿舊。幸山僧有J39nB441_p0287a29箇出身之術。且如何是出身之術?聽取一頌:聲前一J39nB441_p0287a30句無消息,便見龍門萬仞高,昨夜波斯穿市過,蚊虻J39nB441_p0287b01睫內鼓波濤。」連喝三喝,下座。
J39nB441_p0287b02楊侍御生日,請陞座。豎拂子,云:「此是不生句、是不滅J39nB441_p0287b03句,是無上句、是無等句,如天普蓋、如地普擎。所以,大J39nB441_p0287b04復居士於此乘智慧乘,而以翰墨作諸佛事,如遊園J39nB441_p0287b05觀,左逢右遇,在在成就,霆翻雲漢,瀑瀉千江。此箇時J39nB441_p0287b06節,便與三世佛祖同一眼見、同一耳聞、同一鼻嗅、同J39nB441_p0287b07一舌嘗、同一身觸、同一意思,純一清淨,無二無別。長J39nB441_p0287b08龍今日轉此無二之法,奉為侍御公七十之辰,惟願J39nB441_p0287b09色身清淨,壽踰太▆,十方三世諸正遍知而作證盟,J39nB441_p0287b10一切靈祗同垂加護。」喝一喝。
J39nB441_p0287b11治平老人計至,上堂。「正法摧,正眼滅,百億山河空索J39nB441_p0287b12索。見麼?慶忠老人道播寰宇四十餘年,偶於前九J39nB441_p0287b13月念一日滅度,目睛齒骨不壞,金剛鎖骨數莖、五色J39nB441_p0287b14舍利無數,巴蜀大震。昨竺峰和尚音至,始獲哀聞。者J39nB441_p0287b15老子一生慣用不平,欺他漢地,竊幸如今和根剿絕,J39nB441_p0287b16不肖兒也只得從傍助喜。且道如何助喜?淚隨流水J39nB441_p0287b17急,愁逐野雲飛。」
J39nB441_p0287b18挂真,拈香。「這尊慈無向背,以生死為解脫之場,以去J39nB441_p0287b19來為遊戲之地,平生霧驟雲馳、電鋒雷句未足觀光,J39nB441_p0287b20獨是末後一著非干論戲,緩緩道得箇似打瞌睡。哀,J39nB441_p0287b21哀。」
J39nB441_p0287b22佛成道日,陞座。「縱橫截毘盧之印,斷送渾家;剔脫開J39nB441_p0287b23少室之門,風情越量。若也於斯提去,何勞扣戶椎門?J39nB441_p0287b24更若帶齒沾牙,未免重樓次第。先佛儀式,權且聽著。」
J39nB441_p0287b25至晴川,禮先老和尚舍利,拈香。師以手指舍利,云:「者J39nB441_p0287b26一顆從來動他不著,為甚落在晴川江上,一眾悉見J39nB441_p0287b27悉聞?」旋顧左右,云:「五九盡處又逢春。」
J39nB441_p0287b28迎舍利還山,潤上座請陞座。拈拄杖東覷西覷,曰:「長J39nB441_p0287b29龍不濟,到處覓先師靈骨。」乃舉舍利云:「者箇若是,辜J39nB441_p0287b30負先師;者箇不是,辜負長龍。是與不是,一筆勾下。汝J39nB441_p0287c01諸人還見師翁麼?」復云:「今扆比丘如法為先老和尚J39nB441_p0287c02修設清供,山僧特為舉揚。須知此供不從天得、不從J39nB441_p0287c03地得、不從人得,畢竟從甚處得?」良久,曰:「釋迦既然皆J39nB441_p0287c04拱手,何愁彌勒不攢眉?」
J39nB441_p0287c05解制,上堂。「破落門戶,件件缺短,蓋古之嘗。兄弟東去J39nB441_p0287c06西去,總為雲堂少剩,不消老汾一陌紙、兩塊肉,斷送J39nB441_p0287c07精魂,慶快平生。還知麼?舊閣閒田消息在,蒼池夜靜J39nB441_p0287c08月華來。」
J39nB441_p0287c09戊申夏四月,東明、高峰二大師持 慶忠老人信衣J39nB441_p0287c10至,上堂。東明和尚度衣,師拈示召大眾云:「此是慶忠J39nB441_p0287c11老人末後全提消息,遙自錦江發來,到者裏爭敢辜J39nB441_p0287c12負?」遂披搭云:「也要大眾相委。」喝一喝,遂陞座,拈香云:J39nB441_p0287c13「者瓣香,全生即殺、全殺即生,昔年太平山中、寶勝院J39nB441_p0287c14裏深遭毒辣,至今氣骨猶寒,只得盡情拋出,敬為J39nB441_p0287c15現住西川治平堂上慶忠老和尚,以酬法乳。」高峰和J39nB441_p0287c16尚白椎問話畢,師拈拄杖卓一卓,云:「向上一路,迥絕J39nB441_p0287c17羅籠。」喝一喝,云:「末後一著,全無消息。既絕羅籠,又無J39nB441_p0287c18消息,直下如吹毛利劍,誰敢當頭?擬犯其鋒,伏屍萬J39nB441_p0287c19里。到者裏,還許你向高高峰頂立、深深海底行得麼?J39nB441_p0287c20還許行棒行喝、拈椎豎拂得麼?還許絲來線去、帶水J39nB441_p0287c21拖泥得麼?硬糾糾、活卓卓、孤迥迥、峭巍巍,所以道:恁J39nB441_p0287c22麼也不得、不恁麼也不得、恁麼不恁麼總不得,便恁J39nB441_p0287c23麼去,尚隔千重,直須高懸缽袋、放下鐵枷,著著有出J39nB441_p0287c24身之路,始見衲僧行履。且道:如何是衲僧行履?從前J39nB441_p0287c25汗馬無人識,只要重論蓋代功。」喝一喝,卓一卓。
住德安府孝感縣高峰禪院語
J39nB441_p0287c27康熙十七年戊午閏三月十二日,孝、應兩邑紳士請J39nB441_p0287c28師住高峰禪寺。
J39nB441_p0287c29三門。「十方無壁落,四面亦無門。伶俐漢!欲知高峰J39nB441_p0287c30室裏事,須向此間進步。」
J39nB441_p0288a01大殿基。師以手指基座云:「這一尊巍巍堂堂底古J39nB441_p0288a02佛向甚處去也?諸人還知麼?且向驢糞堆頭識些氣J39nB441_p0288a03息始得。」
J39nB441_p0288a04後佛殿。「前面是無相底,遮天蓋地;後面是有相底,J39nB441_p0288a05烜赫今時。山僧今日到來,一筆勾下,且向冷處著把J39nB441_p0288a06火。」遂大展具三拜。
J39nB441_p0288a07上堂。僧問:「選佛場開,心空及第,如何是向上事?」師曰:J39nB441_p0288a08「脫殼烏龜飛上天。」進云:「和尚莫瞞人好。」師曰:「汝且禮J39nB441_p0288a09拜著。」僧便拜,師曰:「莫道無事好。」又僧問:「四眾雲臻,放J39nB441_p0288a10光動地,如何是高峰境?」師曰:「春日晴。」曰:「莫是目前事J39nB441_p0288a11麼?」師曰:「黃鶯鳴。」曰:「如何是境中人?」師曰:「更聽落崖流J39nB441_p0288a12水聲。」僧歸眾。師乃曰:「春日晴,黃鶯鳴,更聽落崖流J39nB441_p0288a13水聲。汝諸人直下搆取得去,山僧未離晴川時已與J39nB441_p0288a14相見了也,武昌府亦與相見了也。及至到來,擊動法J39nB441_p0288a15鼓,特地周遮,又見箇甚麼?所以道:欲識佛性義,當觀J39nB441_p0288a16時節因緣。即今是甚麼時節?」驀豎拂云:「見麼?」擊法座J39nB441_p0288a17云:「聞麼?聞見分明是箇甚麼?若論此事,在天同天、在J39nB441_p0288a18地同地、在聖同聖、在凡同凡,既一切皆同,為甚有凡J39nB441_p0288a19有聖、有地有天?只為不了目前,所以大道寥寥,知音J39nB441_p0288a20者少。還知新高峰落處麼?老僧笑指猿啼處,更有心J39nB441_p0288a21蹤在上方。」
J39nB441_p0288a22師四十歲,兩邑善士請陞座。拈杖曰:「本自無事,從我J39nB441_p0288a23何求?老夫耄矣,何不有事令無事、無事令有事?是謂J39nB441_p0288a24淨佛國土、成就眾生,錦上舖萼三五重,是以山僧四J39nB441_p0288a25十年來只要尋箇不受人瞞底便了。由此自西而南、J39nB441_p0288a26自南而北,從兩浙過吳門、歷晴川、渡澴水,而今踏到J39nB441_p0288a27高峰頂上,無端被孝、應兩邑眾居士強推上曲彔床J39nB441_p0288a28頭,又非迦維降日、嵐園示期,要向那邊開口。」復拈杖J39nB441_p0288a29曰:「只有這箇知端的,從教暗裏自抽枝。」
J39nB441_p0288a30慶忠老和尚小祥,拈香。舉:「南泉為馬祖設齋,乃謂眾J39nB441_p0288b01曰:『馬大師還來否?』明洞山作沙彌,出眾曰:『待有伴即J39nB441_p0288b02來。』泉曰:『此子甚堪雕琢。』山曰:『和尚莫壓良為賤。』去年J39nB441_p0288b03此日,治平堂上老和尚涅槃;今年此日,不肖至善於J39nB441_p0288b04此千華院中不莊伸敬。且道眾中還有洞山奴麼?出J39nB441_p0288b05來為汝證據。如無,不免自杜撰去也。祖堂既有空界J39nB441_p0288b06月,何必重挑不夜燈?」
J39nB441_p0288b07師到藍田,曾謝楊王領闔鎮居士等請於護法院陞J39nB441_p0288b08座。僧問:「鐘鼓交參,四眾雲集,琉璃殿上,誰是知音?」師J39nB441_p0288b09云:「重疊關山路。」進云:「只如國祚王化,野老謳歌,法王J39nB441_p0288b10正令,塗毒當軒,與麼時相去幾許?」師云:「一箭中紅心,J39nB441_p0288b11大地無寸土。」進云:「即今眾居士迎登寶座,利生一句J39nB441_p0288b12又作麼生?」師云:「老僧今日失利。」又僧問:「四眾雲臻,請J39nB441_p0288b13師陞座,如何是第一句?」師云:「你年高多少?」進云:「亙古J39nB441_p0288b14亙今。」師震威一喝,進云:「還有麼?」師云:「你不會,退去。」乃J39nB441_p0288b15云:「向上一路,千聖不傳。」喝一喝,云:「白雲萬里。向上一J39nB441_p0288b16路,千聖不然。」又喝一喝,云:「白雲萬里。昨日有人從天J39nB441_p0288b17臺來,卻往南岳去。」復喝一喝,云:「白雲萬里。老僧不是J39nB441_p0288b18近代師僧,攢華簇錦,四六尖新,東冊子上抄來,西冊J39nB441_p0288b19子謄去,磨稜合縫,鬥湊得恰好,以當宗乘,玷辱祖家J39nB441_p0288b20不少。咦!若不是陷了華山八十一州,揭開頂門正眼J39nB441_p0288b21的,敢在人天眾前開張大口,你輩茄子瓠子須識些J39nB441_p0288b22痛痒始得。」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB441_p0288b23象山華嚴菴說戒,陞座。豎如意云:「老僧到此正覓起J39nB441_p0288b24處不得,從上諸聖百計提撕,亦何嘗動著些子?所以J39nB441_p0288b25象山門下田地穩密,石頭土塊也解放光,須是明取J39nB441_p0288b26始得。若也依稀彷彿,何啻雲泥寥遠?不免向第七、第J39nB441_p0288b27八中按本宣科,俾汝諸人漸次增進,迴向聖倫,自納J39nB441_p0288b28一場敗闕。那裏是敗闕處?先佛儀式權且敷宣。」
J39nB441_p0288b29上堂。舉:「長沙示眾云:『盡十方世界是沙門一隻眼,盡J39nB441_p0288b30十方世界在沙門眼裏。』又道:『盡十方世界是摩訶般J39nB441_p0288c01若光。光未發時,汝等諸人向甚麼著倒?』」師云:「大小長J39nB441_p0288c02沙五臟六腑一齊披露,老僧看來正是短販經紀。汝J39nB441_p0288c03諸人還知節絡處也無?聽取一頌:兩株桃杏映籬斜,J39nB441_p0288c04裝點商州副使家,何事春風容不得?和煙吹折▆枝J39nB441_p0288c05萼。」
J39nB441_p0288c06說戒,上堂。僧問:「法鼓初鳴,萬靈稽首;釋迦成道,今古J39nB441_p0288c07亦然。和尚陞堂獲何功德?」師云:「驢撿濕處以。」「如何是J39nB441_p0288c08戒?」師云:「驢撿濕處臥,斯言更不差。」「如何是定?」「萼雨滿J39nB441_p0288c09庭空。」「如何是慧?」師震威一喝。進云:「虎逢山勢展威猛J39nB441_p0288c10去也。」師曰:「且信一半。」乃曰:「四來咸集,法鼓鼕鼕,▆惜J39nB441_p0288c11勤劬,只得以紫磨金臂擎缽至梵宮,取彼香飯漸展J39nB441_p0288c12入地,至金剛輪際取被甘露,得心自在者乃可同食。J39nB441_p0288c13雖則如是,只如東毘提訶行益、西瞿耶尼納履、非非J39nB441_p0288c14想天今年是甚麼曆日?」乃曰:「萼簇簇,錦簇簇。」復舉:「先J39nB441_p0288c15師住平都上堂,慣弄靈蛇之勢,赫赫萬層;活捉生馬J39nB441_p0288c16之威,昂昂千里。撒縵天網,打稱意魚,放破空矢,落翀J39nB441_p0288c17霄鶴,點即不到,到即不點。」師云:「扶豎濟北門風,重閒J39nB441_p0288c18雙徑法眼,須是與麼始得,然有一處畢竟撿點不到。J39nB441_p0288c19那裏是不到處?待汝諸人親見千華臺上赫赫威光J39nB441_p0288c20的自然分曉。」復說一偈:「我觀智慧藏,光明無不燭,諸J39nB441_p0288c21波羅密門,一切自具足。」
J39nB441_p0288c22丁卯六月十八日,師誕期,藍田起名眾居士請陞座。J39nB441_p0288c23問話畢,乃曰:「我於過去劫中,以平等印印一切法,J39nB441_p0288c24無有少剩。值茲賢劫第四尊釋迦文佛像法之中,丁J39nB441_p0288c25卯六月,於茲藍市叢邊安邑界內,未敢以閻浮檀網J39nB441_p0288c26相光手發此寶函,俾汝現前諸人各各證入平等本J39nB441_p0288c27際,獲玅覺心。雖則如是,仔細撿點將來,老僧今日失J39nB441_p0288c28利不少。那裏是失利處?」喝一喝,下座。
J39nB441_p0288c29小參。「參學之人,大須仔細。非以一事一理、一法一行,J39nB441_p0288c30而能決了成辦。乃於一切事、一切理,一切法、一切行,J39nB441_p0289a01細密確明,打屏淨盡。還有大法宗旨,不同小小。夫參J39nB441_p0289a02學者,須從捷徑省力處,勞心苦志。先聖礪齒磨牙,教J39nB441_p0289a03人於活句下搜求,良有以也。敢問諸人,何名活句?」乃J39nB441_p0289a04拈拄杖云:「汝等諸人,一齊向這裏斷送始得。所以屏J39nB441_p0289a05山居士折裏一舉,雖為青原雪焰二公發揚,實為末J39nB441_p0289a06世參學之本。觀渠發藥,如老吏斷獄,是非立定。看他J39nB441_p0289a07從始至終,不死在言下。若大法不明,宗綱未透者,亦J39nB441_p0289a08難委悉。錄中所舉,如南泉牧牛,風穴上堂,與圜悟無J39nB441_p0289a09盡,洞山、臨濟、雪竇、雲門諸語,剔抉殆盡。至風穴一則,J39nB441_p0289a10猶為關鍵。老漢昔在晴川,與渠邂逅時,雖未盡發蘊J39nB441_p0289a11底,已知渠非常流可測也。今年潤能二禪,自西江回,J39nB441_p0289a12攜折衷一冊。老漢閱罷,時潤在側,乃顧謂曰:『屏山先J39nB441_p0289a13得我心,先我而言。邇來據位稱師者,十箇五雙,難脫J39nB441_p0289a14此圈繢。』老漢見渠提風穴一案,良快人意,忍俊不禁。J39nB441_p0289a15亦欲從傍要與古人相見。」遂舉:「風穴上堂:『若立一塵』」J39nB441_p0289a16師曰:「殺人須是殺人刀。『家國興盛』」師曰:「行住坐臥,甚J39nB441_p0289a17處去也。『不立一塵』」師曰:「活人自有活人劍。『家國喪亡』」J39nB441_p0289a18師曰:「從來動他不著。雪竇拈杖」,師曰:「頭上霹靂,足下J39nB441_p0289a19電光。還有同生同死底衲僧麼?」師曰:「杓柄卻在長龍J39nB441_p0289a20手裏。所以風穴和尚係臨濟老人四世孫、南院之子,J39nB441_p0289a21師承稟受,最有家法。如南院上堂云:『赤肉團上,壁立J39nB441_p0289a22千仞。』」師曰:「有多少奇特?僧便問:『赤肉團上,壁立千仞,J39nB441_p0289a23豈不是和尚道?』」師曰:「逐塊韓盧,有甚交涉?院曰:『是。』憐J39nB441_p0289a24兒不覺醜。僧便掀倒禪床。」師曰:「且喜救得一半。院曰:J39nB441_p0289a25『這瞎漢亂做。』」師曰:「收得燕南,又憂塞北。僧擬議。」師曰:J39nB441_p0289a26「莫是壁立千仞麼?院便打趁出。」師曰:「面目猶在。又風J39nB441_p0289a27穴於汝州上堂云:『祖師心印,狀似鐵牛之機。』」師曰:「不J39nB441_p0289a28消一捏。『去即印住。』」師曰:「一封書未返。『住即印破。』」師曰:J39nB441_p0289a29「千樹葉皆飛。『只如不去不住』」師曰:「湘之南、潭之北。『印J39nB441_p0289a30即是?不印即是?』」師曰:「把斷要津。」又云:「水洩不通。『還有J39nB441_p0289b01道得的底麼?』」師曰:「特拋香餌。『時有盧陂長老出云』」師J39nB441_p0289b02曰:「果然一釣便上。『某甲有鐵牛之機。』」師曰:「太輕日生。J39nB441_p0289b03『請師不搭印。』」師曰:「我也為你著忙。穴云:『慣釣鯨鯢澄J39nB441_p0289b04巨浸,卻憐蛙步展泥沙。』」師曰:「何患知之者寡?大眾!你J39nB441_p0289b05看他風穴父子竊得祖翁些子氣息,各自撐門啟戶,J39nB441_p0289b06要你學者向他劍刃上行、冰輪上走。你若偷心不死、J39nB441_p0289b07大法不明,欲入這般門庭,何啻十萬八千?」良久,驀拈J39nB441_p0289b08杖云:「心眼活句一時閒了也,汝等諸人直下薦取。」靠J39nB441_p0289b09拄杖,下座。
J39nB441_p0289b10江南善士紀懷元為薦先考彥樓老居士小祥,請小J39nB441_p0289b11參。以拂子向空畫一畫,云:「還委悉麼?若也直下知歸,J39nB441_p0289b12便請各自回堂;如或未委,不免從頭註破。」良久,云:「有J39nB441_p0289b13大陀羅尼名為圓覺,流出一切清淨真如、菩提、涅槃J39nB441_p0289b14及波羅密。所以,諸佛於此處兜率天放大悲光,攝受J39nB441_p0289b15群品;及至初生,手指上下震動一切世界網,以至坐J39nB441_p0289b16吉祥、降魔軍、入涅槃。諸大菩薩於此以金剛心蓮如J39nB441_p0289b17幻智,能以眼處作耳處佛事、鼻處作舌處佛事、意處J39nB441_p0289b18作身處佛事,無有增減;聲聞於此具八解、六通,遊戲J39nB441_p0289b19自在,翫水娛山;辟支於此出無佛世,以無生忍耽取J39nB441_p0289b20涅槃;歷代祖師於此豎拂、拈椎,橫說、直說,隨處安隱;J39nB441_p0289b21諸天於此離生喜、捨念盡,知樂厭寂;修羅於此破三J39nB441_p0289b22有城,斷除驕慢;地獄於此覺悟無生,得究竟空,不起J39nB441_p0289b23罪性;現前四眾等於此發菩提心,將來畢竟證入圓J39nB441_p0289b24明。且道彥樓居士分中還具些子也無?野色更無山J39nB441_p0289b25隔斷,天光直與水相通。」
J39nB441_p0289b26張雪嵒居士請為先文林公對靈小參。師豎拂云:「只J39nB441_p0289b27這是相隨來也,釋迦、彌勒一齊退位,百千諸佛同▆J39nB441_p0289b28降旗,山僧何處有第一句、第二句與諸人商量?只▆J39nB441_p0289b29一起現成公案,不免舉似。只這文林公贊堯老居士,J39nB441_p0289b30本貫西蜀渝州人,以鄉貢進士於吳,於晉作從官,▆J39nB441_p0289c01簡刑清,視民如赤,不下羊叔之峴首,處事極有家法,J39nB441_p0289c02片言折獄,晉人至今稱之。居恒喜讀佛書,又當作▆J39nB441_p0289c03淡惺世語以警悟流俗,緇輩進門無不受其澤者,惟J39nB441_p0289c04同里僧未預其數。後來捐館時,眷屬▆▆並不提及J39nB441_p0289c05世諦事,惟高聲朗誦『願生西方淨土中』數十聲而卒,J39nB441_p0289c06豈非前報世中事,恒沙佛果因成就,故爾首擊尾應J39nB441_p0289c07者乎?然則山僧今日於此黃藤山中靈室之前又何J39nB441_p0289c08以進之居士?」遂拈香云:「戒、定、慧、解脫、解脫知見,香嚴J39nB441_p0289c09雲網遍罩十方,有情、無情遇斯香者,決定作佛。汝諸J39nB441_p0289c10人聞見麼?聞見分明,未是好手。昨日有人從湖上來,J39nB441_p0289c11不得秀州信,雨過石苔青,山行屐齒印,百事不干懷,J39nB441_p0289c12自然心無病。」又以拂子擊案一下。
J39nB441_p0289c13江寧林德甫居士為亡友馬應龍建法華會,請小參。J39nB441_p0289c14「山僧未離晴川時已為華劈了也,還知麼?若知,黃面J39nB441_p0289c15瞿曇一時義墮,說甚彌勒起疑、文殊為說?智如鶖子J39nB441_p0289c16底且居門外,不退諸菩薩插手難入。此事如大火聚,J39nB441_p0289c17近之則燎卻面門,鐵山岌岌、玉海沉沉,如斯舉唱,率J39nB441_p0289c18土望崖,垢面灰頭罔稱作者,放一線道卻有商量。」▆J39nB441_p0289c19拈杖,云:「一切障礙即竟究覺,得念、失念無非解脫,成J39nB441_p0289c20法、波法都名涅槃,智慧、愚癡通為般若。啐!為甚抄他J39nB441_p0289c21古聖、文字他家?閒曰曠地界至自明,朽大碗小不消J39nB441_p0289c22提得,何須驢呼菩薩、馬漢羅漢,然後著如來▆、入▆J39nB441_p0289c23來室,坐如來座,對現色身,色身三昧是甚麼閒?今日J39nB441_p0289c24德甫居士耑為亡友啟建法華勝會,禮請山僧特為J39nB441_p0289c25表揚,敢煩緇白大眾朗誦一句伽陀,用資冥福。」良久,J39nB441_p0289c26眾無出,乃撫掌高歌曰:「秋風颯颯墮闌干,冷月斜飛J39nB441_p0289c27映水寒,彈指便超生死地,不勞筋力向南參。」又彈拄J39nB441_p0289c28杖一下,下座。
J39nB441_p0289c29雲石禪人請為亡師佛智禪宿百期小參。拈拂子向J39nB441_p0289c30空劃一劃,云:「有法門名無盡燈,三世諸佛、歷代祖師,J39nB441_p0290a01若聖若凡,情與無情,盡在這光影子裏。既向這裏現J39nB441_p0290a02前,諸人睜眼看著、側耳聽著、舉步踏著,何須山僧從J39nB441_p0290a03新起爐作龜、打艸驚蛇然後得哉?則佛智禪宿未離J39nB441_p0290a04蜀時,此段光明也不曾減,發足南來又何曾增?既無J39nB441_p0290a05增減,總是一箇清淨平等法門。山僧今日轉此清淨J39nB441_p0290a06平等之法,敬為佛智公百期之辰耶作現前佛事。敢J39nB441_p0290a07問諸人:如何是現前佛事?」良久,曰:「河橋新漲藤萼雨,J39nB441_p0290a08山路無人空鳥啼。」
J39nB441_p0290a09雪巖居士請為先周太孺人對靈小參孺人法名行圓。師高J39nB441_p0290a10聲喚云:「行圓道人!曠大劫來事瞞道人一點不得、道J39nB441_p0290a11人日用事瞞山僧一點不得。既瞞不得,為甚有凡、有J39nB441_p0290a12聖?有生、有死?有苦、有樂?有智、有愚?病在於何?所以道:J39nB441_p0290a13真如淨境界,一泯未嘗存;能隨染淨緣,遂成十法界。」J39nB441_p0290a14驀豎拂,云:「這箇是能淨的真如,那箇是所生的法界?」J39nB441_p0290a15又舉拂,云:「這箇是所生的法界,那箇是能淨的真如?J39nB441_p0290a16若喚作真如,卻是法界;喚作法界,卻又是真如。」擲下J39nB441_p0290a17拂,云:「畢竟喚作甚麼?到這裏,苦樂、智愚、凡聖、生死一J39nB441_p0290a18點也著不得。既著不得,行圓道人安置何處?殊不知J39nB441_p0290a19他是從故鄉田地上翻出來底,故爾四十年中精進J39nB441_p0290a20堅卓,直要尋到界至分明處便了。尋來尋去,尋到結J39nB441_p0290a21角羅紋處,可謂因該果海、果徹因源,只得和盤托出,J39nB441_p0290a22將謂無人。不料山僧以同里之故,悄地一看,頓見冰J39nB441_p0290a23銷瓦解。」又高聲喚云:「道人!道人!還知界至分明底道J39nB441_p0290a24理也無?」喝一喝。
J39nB441_p0290a25晴川洛伽院主領江右劉伯玉居士請為立塵禪人J39nB441_p0290a26淨髮小參。拈拂子擊案,云:「一法未起,山堆獄積;一塵J39nB441_p0290a27纔收,壑塞溝填。不是目前機,亦非向上事,若是得的J39nB441_p0290a28人,自然知些冷暖。敢問在筵大眾:且道立塵禪人還J39nB441_p0290a29知有也無?苟或未知,且將無始生死根苗一齊去卻,J39nB441_p0290a30再聽山僧大眾喝采,為渠唱箇新豐曲子。」良久,高聲J39nB441_p0290b01曰:「洲晚江寒霜露濃,主人無事過前峰,萬家衰柳空J39nB441_p0290b02堤外,贏得朝朝暮暮鐘。」
J39nB441_p0290b03丙午,住龍會庵,示眾。「露一縷於千聖頂𩕳之上,塵塵J39nB441_p0290b04爾、剎剎爾;擲一塵於萬億剎海之中,恢恢焉、恍恍焉。J39nB441_p0290b05遠發千鈞弩,倒弄金剛王,也須退後三步,衲僧門下J39nB441_p0290b06事非小小。」隨拈竹篦,云:「這箇不屬塵、不屬縷,猛火燒J39nB441_p0290b07虛空,法身藏北斗。便與麼去,猶落今時窠臼,未免喪J39nB441_p0290b08我兒孫,須是從前所得無量解脫一時蕩盡,洒洒地J39nB441_p0290b09作箇無依無倚道人,火不曾燒著口、風不曾吹倒樹,J39nB441_p0290b10無邊無中、無前無後,泥蛇飛入畫屏間,野狐變作師J39nB441_p0290b11子吼。」卓一卓。
J39nB441_p0290b12示眾。「高亭直趨而去,辜負德山;趙州洗缽盂了,瞞他J39nB441_p0290b13作者。直須揭卻頂蓋,剿絕根株,一一玅明、一一天真,J39nB441_p0290b14風清皇路、月映江樓,猶是無風匝匝之波,務要掀天J39nB441_p0290b15作用、整葺頹綱,挽他滹沱未墜之緒。今日不免為諸J39nB441_p0290b16人約法三章:第一、不得權實並用;第二、不得賓主雙J39nB441_p0290b17看;第三、不得照用齊舉。須向他古德未屙已前驀行J39nB441_p0290b18一步,庶得祖風不墜,千古生光。還有具如是操略也J39nB441_p0290b19無?有則出來為古人,雪屈時聞扳聲鳴。」師起身歸方J39nB441_p0290b20丈。
J39nB441_p0290b21示眾。「龍以角聽,蟻以身聽,普賢大士以心聽。」拈拄杖J39nB441_p0290b22曰:「此以誰為聽?昨夜北風起,寥聞打窗聲。」
J39nB441_p0290b23示眾。「以的破的,以空破空,衲僧門下,切忌羅籠。」喝一J39nB441_p0290b24喝,云:「祝融峰頂上,露滴萬年松。」
J39nB441_p0290b25示眾。「踞虎頭,收虎尾,第一句下明宗旨。如何是第一J39nB441_p0290b26句?」有道:「未開口前錯。」有道:「請和尚歸方丈。」有道:「用第J39nB441_p0290b27一句作麼?」有道:「此是第二句。」拈拄杖一齊打散,復召J39nB441_p0290b28眾云:「且來,且來。」眾方回首,師曰:「來日大悲院裏有齋。」
J39nB441_p0290b29因雪,示眾:「者段事下來許久,一片落在你頭上、一片J39nB441_p0290b30落在你肩上猶且不會,只得不見一色始是半提,更J39nB441_p0290c01須知有全提時節。韶陽老人歸家穩坐,日出後大有J39nB441_p0290c02事在,汝諸人切忌向淨潔處躲根,近來巴豆不值一J39nB441_p0290c03文。」
J39nB441_p0290c04示眾。「截瓊枝節節是玉,柝旃檀片片皆香。且道阿耨J39nB441_p0290c05達池龍王年多少?肉重幾許?」良久,曰:「五更侵早起,已J39nB441_p0290c06有夜行人。」
J39nB441_p0290c07示眾。「真正過量人,聞佛法二字,如生冤家,始有說▆J39nB441_p0290c08分。不見道:參須實參,悟須實悟。的的是箇真▆▆▆J39nB441_p0290c09人,腳踏實地,自然要做到徹頭徹尾處,方纔了手。不J39nB441_p0290c10是倚艸附木,依稀相似,摶量卜度來的,是從艸莽裏、J39nB441_p0290c11鬧市中握一柄金剛王劍,逢佛殺佛、逢祖殺祖、遇凡J39nB441_p0290c12殺凡、遇聖殺聖,那管明暗色空、聖解凡情,直到大休J39nB441_p0290c13大歇田地,是他本領。所以洛浦和尚道:『欲知上流大J39nB441_p0290c14士,不將佛祖言句貼在額頭上,如靈龜▆▆,自▆▆J39nB441_p0290c15身之兆,直下透出,鳳縈金網,趨霄漢以何窮?所謂石J39nB441_p0290c16人機似汝,也解唱巴歌;汝若似石人,雪▆也應▆。』▆J39nB441_p0290c17柰大法久淹,名存實亡,又何須說實踐真操、蘊研積J39nB441_p0290c18稔?一番體才學者,稍有箇螢火之光,已被冬瓜印子J39nB441_p0290c19印了,不但得少為足,一心只安排出世張本,一盲眾J39nB441_p0290c20盲,便是此輩瞎卻人眼。山僧▆康熙初行腳時,叢林J39nB441_p0290c21方盛,尚有一二老成已見露出如許敗闕。今二十年J39nB441_p0290c22來,禪林下衰,日甚一日,猶有不堪聞見者。悲哉!悲哉!J39nB441_p0290c23汝等既來親近山僧,雖將諸方這些惡習洗得乾乾J39nB441_p0290c24淨淨,全身放下,拚一生不想出世,受得山僧鉗錘、入J39nB441_p0290c25得山僧閫奧,十年五年若不徹頭徹尾、蓋天蓋地,山J39nB441_p0290c26僧為汝入地獄。」
J39nB441_p0290c27普請,摘二茶,示眾。「舉一不得舉二,乾峰老人一場特J39nB441_p0290c28地。雲門奴見婢殷勤出來,南山起雲,北山下雨,懞懂J39nB441_p0290c29的只是懞懂,惺惺的只是惺惺。仔細撿點將來,各與J39nB441_p0290c30二十棒,一棒也較不得。汝諸人還知落處麼?[○@│]。」

J39nB441_p0291a03一椎打透底人,猶落雲門病處。直須寒灰發焰,枯木J39nB441_p0291a04萼開,轉折周旋,件件不在別裡。所謂大休大歇,安樂J39nB441_p0291a05法門也。此事如鬧市街頭交易濃處戥秤一般,絲毫J39nB441_p0291a06也瞞他不得。雖瞞不得,卻無可指示處。雖無指示處,J39nB441_p0291a07銖兩自明,一度拈來一度新。南嶽謂馬祖曰:「汝學心J39nB441_p0291a08地法門,如下種子。我說法要,譬彼天澤。汝緣合故,當J39nB441_p0291a09見其道。」蓋心地法門,非口傳心授而可得者。得一步,J39nB441_p0291a10便得一步受用,何妨在熱鬧處。鬧處得力,便是靜處J39nB441_p0291a11省力也。古人淳誠,且三二十年,方得成辦。非若世人J39nB441_p0291a12讀文誦字,一目便了。臨濟云:「離相離名人不稟,吹毛J39nB441_p0291a13用了急須磨。」事務冗遏時,不須排遣。拈起一物云:「是J39nB441_p0291a14什麼?」復拈一物云:「畢竟是什麼?」不可坐在淨潔處,便J39nB441_p0291a15作受用,連者一段,亦須打脫。打脫了,再看僧問雲門:J39nB441_p0291a16「弒父弒母,佛前懺悔。弒佛弒祖,向什麼處懺悔?」門云:J39nB441_p0291a17「露。」山僧恁麼告報,全身坐在荒艸裡也。問話了,荅話J39nB441_p0291a18了,拈卻棒,去卻喝,無二無二分,無別無斷故。夜來風J39nB441_p0291a19起,吹上壁角,須看此外大用。如何是此外大用?
送卓雲上座參方
J39nB441_p0291a21未得知有,直須知有;既得知有,坐斷知有。法中細大,J39nB441_p0291a22磊落丘山,種種殊勝,一時蕩淨,始具得半隻超方眼,J39nB441_p0291a23便爾拈一莖艸,走殺衲僧,解開布袋,正令全提。方於J39nB441_p0291a24百眾人中,劍下鋒頭,橫身自在,逢場把戲,如入無人J39nB441_p0291a25之境。吾宗定上座、廓侍者,其殆庶幾焉。是以濟上門J39nB441_p0291a26庭,所貴臨機轉握,主賓互換,在覿面提持間。昔人謂J39nB441_p0291a27如馬前撲,良有以也。近代多以格則程限定論先宗,J39nB441_p0291a28而每遭輿議,心竊鄙之。昔余在眾時,聆之啟、禎間太J39nB441_p0291a29保良玉秦公將兵伐渝,起師時,諸將議曰:「請將軍策。」J39nB441_p0291a30公曰:「茲時耳目交加,臨陣有酌。」為將者尚貴臨陣,況J39nB441_p0291b01綱宗中事,庸詎等閒?益州卓雲戒公始參德山,次覲J39nB441_p0291b02大老,復以桑梓之懷謁余鄂渚。 康熙丙午,余開法J39nB441_p0291b03漢上,公亦與焉。每來室中咨決真要,余知其入手處,J39nB441_p0291b04實則俊辯逸格,乃若大法深杳,濟上閫奧雖未盡豹,J39nB441_p0291b05而大樣可觀,僅非學地得少為足者比。邇來多有未J39nB441_p0291b06賞一橛者,欲冀師家印授,而亦有欲速成者,不分緇J39nB441_p0291b07素,遞相虛統,皆所目擊者。室中與公嘗嘆古宗師如J39nB441_p0291b08老汾之作、▆縣之峻,有今刻意而弗能也。余與公雖J39nB441_p0291b09未近古,亦非今之體段,至於遍歷諸方,先聖所範。昔J39nB441_p0291b10無德參見七十餘員,猶以未見聰公為憾,蓋不可不J39nB441_p0291b11行。雖然,母蹈開聖後轍,取登座之慨,惟公念焉。浙西J39nB441_p0291b12有大覺吼老,孤陋寡聞,爪牙劍刃不下神鼎,德嶠倘J39nB441_p0291b13若扣渠,定有以誨也。因書二偈以贈。徑庭舒廣海雲J39nB441_p0291b14吞,六合攢將共一門,逢著賊身休薦取,潛鋒且看別J39nB441_p0291b15乾坤。綱宗透脫絕羅籠,拶著渾身八面風,送子南征J39nB441_p0291b16無可贈,祖庭端在凌霄峰。
示陳玉甫居士
J39nB441_p0291b18真實悟心之士,自然如珠走盤,活活鱍鱍,不是倚艸J39nB441_p0291b19附木,見人東說東、西說西,影響音聞,是從無量劫來J39nB441_p0291b20一齊翻出的。故爾隨處作主,遇緣即宗,左逢右遇,能J39nB441_p0291b21大能小,皆以海印三昧一印印定現量一著子。先聖J39nB441_p0291b22得此印,所以不起滅定現諸威儀,不捨道法示凡夫J39nB441_p0291b23相,拈香撥火、運水搬柴,何曾障著些子?風行空而舟J39nB441_p0291b24御水,脫脫洒洒,豈不快哉?到這裏,正永嘉所謂:「亦無J39nB441_p0291b25人,亦無佛,大千沙界海中漚,一切聖賢如電拂,非是J39nB441_p0291b26強為法如是。」故莫看前輩如是說話,坐在無事界中,J39nB441_p0291b27一切落空又不是也。須知當人親證之時,直下求空J39nB441_p0291b28了不可得,故曰:「般若如大火聚,近之則燎卻面門;如J39nB441_p0291b29喻太末蟲,處處能泊而不能泊於火焰之上。」旨哉言J39nB441_p0291b30乎!近代佛法可傷,為師者既道眼不明,學者又為聲J39nB441_p0291c01色所扇,且不問撥艸瞻風畢竟為著何事,徒快一時,J39nB441_p0291c02從此一盲眾盲沿之不息,轉相授受而正宗微矣。玉J39nB441_p0291c03甫居士遍參諸方二十餘年, 康熙丙辰見汶叟於J39nB441_p0291c04晴川,從前所學盡形披露,汶叟亦不肯以近代息氣J39nB441_p0291c05相待,一味以本分期之,雖向上眼未開而腳跟已正,J39nB441_p0291c06因緣到來自是不差。我又觀之,居士如已成之龍,只J39nB441_p0291c07次點眼,藥信若發,何怕你不掣天飛去?則山僧所說J39nB441_p0291c08都是剩語也。
示彭君甫居士六十法語
J39nB441_p0291c10○此是一切諸佛毘盧遮那如來藏身三昧,能於法J39nB441_p0291c11界示眾影相。法界海旋,靡不隨入。出生一切三世諸J39nB441_p0291c12佛智光明海。法界所有諸安立海,悉於中現。如是則J39nB441_p0291c13酒樓上,市肆中,無二無二分,無別無斷故。釋迦不先,J39nB441_p0291c14彌勒何後。一代時教,是甚麼熱。大千七百則葛藤,且J39nB441_p0291c15喜沒交涉。塵塵爾,剎剎爾。象王行處,自絕狐蹤;獅子J39nB441_p0291c16返躑,無容顧佇。有如是威神,有如是自在。只許老胡J39nB441_p0291c17知,不許老胡會。放下钁鋤,揭開腦蓋。我此法印,為欲J39nB441_p0291c18利樂一切眾生。小根劣器,勿妄宣傳。苟或如是,豈不J39nB441_p0291c19佛法斷滅,掃蹤絕跡也哉。須知如是之人,始學如是J39nB441_p0291c20之法。以如是法,接如是人。如是如是,權作居士六十J39nB441_p0291c21生辰一段佳話也。呵呵。
示程聖裔居士
J39nB441_p0291c23此無比法,如難信珠,真正過量人,不須抬眸,已落吾J39nB441_p0291c24彀中了也。世間有可見可知之法,人自信而無疑,惟J39nB441_p0291c25此無可見無可知,所以信之者少。信之既少,又誰為J39nB441_p0291c26行之者乎?其或信之既篤,則便有行之路矣。故曰:「信J39nB441_p0291c27為道元功德母,長養一切諸善法。」又曰:信能增長▆J39nB441_p0291c28功德,信能必到如來地。則知三賢十地諸位賢聖,亦J39nB441_p0291c29是以信為入道之初因,故能成就五十五位真菩提J39nB441_p0291c30路,以至妙覺果海,成無上道。究其所以,亦不外乎信J39nB441_p0292a01向之深,故有如是之果感不昧也。聖裔居士漢城▆J39nB441_p0292a02舊,識高學富,信道有年,惟於向上一著,不能前▆▆J39nB441_p0292a03於室中,咨其要領。余蓋嘗以福州名品因緣似之▆J39nB441_p0292a04矣,既退其殼,又剔其肉,而居士猶不下口,斯道▆▆J39nB441_p0292a05之難歟?總之,念不一而心未耑耳。李文和參▆▆▆J39nB441_p0292a06開悟之後,作偈曰:「學道須是鐵漢,著手心▆▆▆▆J39nB441_p0292a07取無上菩提,一切是非莫管。」此便是古人一▆▆▆J39nB441_p0292a08的極切方。莫今日也與麼,明日也與麼,弄到三十,自J39nB441_p0292a09未免空度一生了。況此時落日啣山之際,風燭艸▆J39nB441_p0292a10之年,一寸之陰,當以百寸之金是警,若得朝聞其▆J39nB441_p0292a11而夕死,是大幸也。戊午春,予因受應山之請,臨別無J39nB441_p0292a12可為念,聊書數語為居士勗焉。更有箇要緊方兒,欲J39nB441_p0292a13學此道,須做一箇有氣死人,把十方世界情與無情、J39nB441_p0292a14若聖若凡,一齊坐斷,來喫山僧手一頓拄杖子。
J39nB441_p0292a15送明愷二化士出山示語。「青山萬朵,白雲數封,有條J39nB441_p0292a16攀條的,要向紅塵堆裏、聚落叢中插一隻手,扶起淨J39nB441_p0292a17山巴鼻,正是科發少年第,龍頭屬老成,莖艸瓊樓,再J39nB441_p0292a18開生面。老僧只得從傍喝彩,唱箇善為道路曲子。」良J39nB441_p0292a19久,曰:「囉囉招,囉囉搖,囉囉送。還有末後一句,待渠新J39nB441_p0292a20化歸來,為渠說破。」
