J27nB189_p0027b05普說。喝一喝云:「山僧連日來,抖擻尿腸,費盡氣力,總J27nB189_p0027b06不見有箇出格丈夫,向山僧未開口前,掀翻法座,把J27nB189_p0027b07山僧打進方丈去。一者見得顯聖法社有人。二者免J27nB189_p0027b08致山僧向耳裏灌水、眼裏攃沙。山僧留箇縫罅與你,J27nB189_p0027b09尚不會挨身而入,更說甚麼獅子頷下摘鈴,猛虎口J27nB189_p0027b10中奪食?汝既認黃葉為精金,山僧不免著水賣米去J27nB189_p0027b11也。」以拄杖擊香几三下云:「此三擊,有一擊超威音那J27nB189_p0027b12畔,越象帝之先,轉南為北,易東為西,十方諸佛不敢J27nB189_p0027b13正眼覷著,歷代祖師亡鋒結舌。有一擊,蝦蟆吞卻香J27nB189_p0027b14爐峰,走入蟭螟蟲眉毛孔裏,高聲唱云:『五臺山上雲J27nB189_p0027b15蒸飯,佛殿階前狗尿天。剎竿頭上煎䭔子,三箇猢猻J27nB189_p0027b16夜播錢,鐙籠沿壁上天台。懷州牛喫禾,益州馬腹脹。』J27nB189_p0027b17有一擊,乾三連,坤六斷,震仰盂,艮覆碗,離中虛,坎中J27nB189_p0027b18滿,兌上缺,巽下斷,主山高、案山低,大盡有三十、小盡J27nB189_p0027b19二十九。若向這裏簡點得出,潦水盡而寒潭清;簡點J27nB189_p0027b20不出,煙光凝而暮山紫。諸兄弟!此一著子,沒量大人J27nB189_p0027b21到這裏鬥湊不上。你諸人今日三、明日四,半青半黃、J27nB189_p0027b22半生半熟,奴奴孃孃,有甚交涉?所以古人云:『此事不J27nB189_p0027b23在語言文字上。』又云:『吾宗無語句,亦無實法與人。』父J27nB189_p0027b24母未生前會取,未舉心意識前會取,始有少分相應。J27nB189_p0027b25又古德云:『法性不寬,波瀾不廣。』蓋為命根不斷,所以J27nB189_p0027b26被山僧輕輕拶著,便七華八裂,手忙腳亂,他日如何J27nB189_p0027b27抵得閻老子銕棒?古人公案,雖是破艸鞋,不如赤腳J27nB189_p0027b28走到爽快,也須穿破,始肯丟下。若一串穿過,自然左J27nB189_p0027b29右逢原,八面受敵,兩頭不著、中間不居。即如今日施J27nB189_p0027b30主送供請說法要,若道有財可施,水也難消;若道有J27nB189_p0027c01法可說,開眼做夢。記得昔日波斯匿王問佛:『世俗諦J27nB189_p0027c02中還有聖義諦也無?若道是有,智不應一,若道是無,J27nB189_p0027c03智不應二。一義二義,其義云何?』佛言:『大王!汝於龍光J27nB189_p0027c04佛所曾問斯義,我亦無說,你亦無聞。無說無聞,是名J27nB189_p0027c05一義二義?』這老漢秖可欺他俗漢,當面熱謾。據山僧J27nB189_p0027c06判斷,將平天冠、袞龍袍,與世尊穿戴了,將毘盧帽、僧J27nB189_p0027c07伽梨與匿王披頂了,正恁麼時喚作世尊,又是匿王;J27nB189_p0027c08喚作匿王,又是世尊。且道如何折合?」豎拂子云:「梅華J27nB189_p0027c09連月和香送,玉映清芬進戶來。」
J27nB189_p0027c10普說。「大道只在目前,要且目前難睹。欲識大道體寬,J27nB189_p0027c11不離聲色言語。大眾!作麼生領略?莫得一往向冊子J27nB189_p0027c12上憶持、語言裏卜度,見山僧陞座時鼓兩片皮,便道J27nB189_p0027c13說佛法,及乎山僧下座去,其中佛殿山門、廊廂廚庫,J27nB189_p0027c14又卻蹉過也。鴉鳴鵲噪,語笑喧譁,又不是也。正恁麼J27nB189_p0027c15時,見色處眼又不瞎,聞聲時耳又不聾。且道:目前大J27nB189_p0027c16道在甚麼處?昨日吳居士進方丈瓣香作禮云:『弟子J27nB189_p0027c17母親產難身故,切思欲報親恩,須脫生死,因入顯聖,J27nB189_p0027c18日則挑水,夜則禪思,一切所為,回向先母。』山僧道:『你J27nB189_p0027c19要報母恩,今日母在甚麼處?』士云:『不知。』山僧道:『你禮J27nB189_p0027c20拜著。』士便作禮,山僧笑云:『我兒,你會禮拜耶。』士懡㦬J27nB189_p0027c21而退。今日又設茶,請山僧為眾開示,亦為度他母親。J27nB189_p0027c22大眾!要見吳居士母親麼?」高聲云:「行堂的擺茶去。」良J27nB189_p0027c23久云:「大眾會麼?今日居士尊親在你茶杯果碟裏,現J27nB189_p0027c24神通十八變。身上出水、身下出火,或見大身滿虛空、J27nB189_p0027c25或見小身如塵微,大復見小、小復見大,入地如水、履J27nB189_p0027c26水如地,男子身中入正定、女人身中出,比丘身中入J27nB189_p0027c27正定、比丘尼身中出,色塵中入正定、聲塵中出,眼處J27nB189_p0027c28入正定、耳處出,耳處入正定、鼻處出,拄杖身中入正J27nB189_p0027c29定、拂子身中出。」豎拂云:「山僧拂子吞卻乾坤去也。直J27nB189_p0027c30得四海波騰、須彌震動,於中人天八部魚龍諸趣驚J27nB189_p0028a01恐無量,嚇得帝釋夫人走向東北歡喜園中,手攀員J27nB189_p0028a02生樹枝高聲道:『阿呀呀!下方世界,為甚這等熱鬧?』山J27nB189_p0028a03僧道:『夫人不要慌。』」擿下拂子云:「放下便安穩。」
J27nB189_p0028a04普說。「欲行千里,始於初步。雲門這裏雖則石路坦夷,J27nB189_p0028a05動著則喪身失命。有入水不動波、舞蹈不生塵者,請J27nB189_p0028a06出相見。」僧出禮拜,師指云:「兩堂人總不如此僧。」僧擬J27nB189_p0028a07問,師云:「依俙似曲纔堪聽,又被風吹別調中。」又僧問:J27nB189_p0028a08「獨行千里即不問。如何是密迻一步?」師云:「樊江未舉J27nB189_p0028a09足時道將一句來。」進云:「鶴出銀籠始自奇。」師云:「去樊J27nB189_p0028a10江遠在。」問:「如何是心意識?」師云:「不躡前蹤,更置一問J27nB189_p0028a11來。」僧舉拳云:「這箇是離心意識。」師云:「可知道。」乃云:「離J27nB189_p0028a12心意識參,絕凡聖路學,白鶴出銀籠,猴子過山峽。是J27nB189_p0028a13恁麼人,隨處拈來,可以塞斷咽喉。若趙常山向百萬J27nB189_p0028a14軍中取勝,淮陰侯背水陣上建功,到這裏一齊抹過。J27nB189_p0028a15縱能運籌於帷幄之中,決勝於千里之外,堪作甚麼?J27nB189_p0028a16吞得栗棘蓬,透得金剛圈,袖裏藏殺活劍,口中有縱J27nB189_p0028a17奪機,更向此中覓為人句子,崖州萬里。諸兄弟!切弗J27nB189_p0028a18艸艸,佛法須是箇漢子,若是朝三莫四,總沒交涉。僧J27nB189_p0028a19問趙州云:『學人乍入叢林,乞師指示。』州云:『喫粥了也J27nB189_p0028a20未?』僧云:『喫粥了也。』州云:『洗缽盂去。』其僧言下大悟。雲J27nB189_p0028a21門拈云:『且道:趙州有指示無指示?若道有,且道趙州J27nB189_p0028a22向伊說甚麼?若言無,此僧為甚麼悟去?』雲峰悅拈云:J27nB189_p0028a23『雲門不識好惡,大似為蛇添足。雲峰則不然,此僧恁J27nB189_p0028a24麼悟去,入地獄如箭射。』」師云:「趙州向蝎瓮裏蹲踞,雲J27nB189_p0028a25門入蛇阬中坐臥,雲峰向虎穴裏遊戲。蝎不能螫,蛇J27nB189_p0028a26不能毒,虎不能措其爪牙,果然玅手。據山僧判斷,趙J27nB189_p0028a27州也無洗缽盂話,雲門縱有畫蛇之筆,向甚處添足?J27nB189_p0028a28還是雲峰入地獄,此僧入地獄?」拍案一下云:「山僧今J27nB189_p0028a29日將三大老頂相光明,神通玅用,拈向諸人面前,漆J27nB189_p0028a30桶不快。」喝一喝云:「萬山紫翠煙嵐裏,濃淡浮沈畫不J27nB189_p0028b01成。」
J27nB189_p0028b02普說。「連日來東語西話打一返,觀八萬四千毛孔,根J27nB189_p0028b03根卓立。且道病在何處?」良久,云:「作賊人心虛。」復云:「山J27nB189_p0028b04僧病處,惟我自知。諸兄們何不自體貼看?莫只南去J27nB189_p0028b05北來東奔西討,學得些些以當平生。及乎被山僧輕J27nB189_p0028b06輕拶著,蝦蟆禪也跳兩跳,總沒箇絲線脈絡。曾記陸J27nB189_p0028b07亙大夫問南泉云:『肇法師也大奇,解道天地與我同J27nB189_p0028b08根,萬物與我一體。』泉指庭前牡丹云:『時人見此一枝J27nB189_p0028b09華,如夢相似。』審如是,則適纔鐘鳴鼓響是夢,沈檀龍J27nB189_p0028b10麝是夢,膏粱美味是夢,見前聽法意下卜度亦是夢。J27nB189_p0028b11你莫見山僧與麼舉,便道這樣語句是誰不會?山僧J27nB189_p0028b12還要問你三十三天、帝釋夫人、烏紗冠頂,何處得來?J27nB189_p0028b13山僧為你頌看:好支華向夢中看,紫翠芳菲色已闌,J27nB189_p0028b14到得惺來華又落,前三三與後三三。諸兄弟!你於古J27nB189_p0028b15人平實處不妨領得,少覺淆訛,便吞吐不下。如僧問J27nB189_p0028b16古德:『如何出得生死?』荅云:『無生死你出。』『如何是佛?』『即J27nB189_p0028b17心是佛。』『如何是道?』『平常心是道。』有些滋味,便去咬嚼,J27nB189_p0028b18被他別行一路,將黑豆子換卻眼睛,就不是也。東寺J27nB189_p0028b19會禪師示眾云:『佛無住處,說甚即心?心如工技兒,意J27nB189_p0028b20如和技者,如何即佛?』復云:『心不是佛,智不是道,劍去J27nB189_p0028b21久矣,汝方刻舟。』諸方尊為東寺禪。東寺是馬祖兒孫,J27nB189_p0028b22便翻案了也。何嘗一往平實將去?山僧也有一頌:『楊J27nB189_p0028b23柳鶯聲春晝長,桃華寂寞暗生香。誰家曲調吹離恨?J27nB189_p0028b24客思凄然空斷腸。』後仰山來參,東寺問:『那裏來。』山云:J27nB189_p0028b25『廣南來。』寺云:『聞廣南有鎮海明珠,可收得否?』山云:『收J27nB189_p0028b26得。』寺云:『珠作麼樣?』山云:『黑月即隱,白月即顯。』寺云:『何J27nB189_p0028b27不呈似老僧?』山叉手向前云:『昨被溈山亦索此珠,直J27nB189_p0028b28得無言可對,無理可伸。』寺云:『真師子兒,善能哮吼。』山J27nB189_p0028b29復整威儀進人事,寺云:『纔方相見了也。』山云:『恁麼相J27nB189_p0028b30見,莫當不得否?』寺便歸方丈閉卻門。後來仰山舉似J27nB189_p0028c01溈山,溈云:『寂子是何心行?』仰云:『也要識得他。』大眾思J27nB189_p0028c02忖看!古人通身手眼恁麼樣子,問他明珠卻恁麼道。J27nB189_p0028c03若是今時,便豎指下喝,張唇努舌。如何及他不費纖J27nB189_p0028c04豪氣力,活活潑潑,自繇自在,何曾思議造作得來?山J27nB189_p0028c05僧不惜為你一一頌出廣南珠作麼色?白月白兮黑J27nB189_p0028c06月黑,十二連城換不來,海藏龍宮收不得,攃向人前J27nB189_p0028c07太狼藉。牧童牛背無腔笛,住!住!住甚麼?南泉陸亙,東J27nB189_p0028c08寺仰山。」拍案一下,云:「不消山僧一拍,百雜粉碎。」顧左J27nB189_p0028c09右云:「你這隊噇酒糟漢又卻如何?」噓一聲云:「自出洞J27nB189_p0028c10來無敵手,得饒人處且饒人。」
J27nB189_p0028c11普說。舉拂子云:「摩尼珠人不識。」良久云:「如來藏裏親J27nB189_p0028c12收得。」顧左右云:「漆桶不快。諸兄弟!你豈不是正因出J27nB189_p0028c13家、好心學道,及至挾袱子、擔缽囊上他門戶,便見許J27nB189_p0028c14多淆訛。這也是你眼裏無筋、骨頭軟脆,自家,不能成J27nB189_p0028c15立,一往隨人上下,不知不覺,打入骨董袋裏去,築了J27nB189_p0028c16一肚皮雜毒種子,口滑如油,自稱禪客,不知古人苦J27nB189_p0028c17口切誡,何曾教你留箇元字腳於胸中,但教你休去J27nB189_p0028c18歇去,上無攀仰、下絕己躬,識情枯得盡、妄想放得下,J27nB189_p0028c19還有甚麼事來?諸兄弟!你走諸方參請,為箇甚麼事?J27nB189_p0028c20你莫生死不了,腳跟下事不薦,祖關不透、心地不明J27nB189_p0028c21麼?且生死是甚麼東西?把將來,我為汝了卻。若是腳J27nB189_p0028c22跟下事,不著問人。又不知腳跟下甚麼線索羇絆著J27nB189_p0028c23汝,更道祖關不透。我問你,祖師有幾箇關,你過去不J27nB189_p0028c24得?殊不知,古人隨人顛倒,一時酬唱,你去不得,立地J27nB189_p0028c25便成隔礙,何曾有恁麼事?若問心地,汝心本自清淨,J27nB189_p0028c26用明作麼?」良久云:「雖然如是,癡人前不可說夢,也須J27nB189_p0028c27打徹一回始得。我且問你,喚甚麼作心?莫是見覺聞J27nB189_p0028c28知,動用不失,昭昭靈靈者是你心麼?若此是心,因甚J27nB189_p0028c29慶喜尊者認箇見前能推的,被世尊呵為虛妄想相?J27nB189_p0028c30無始至今認賊為子。我再問你,秖如二祖求達磨安J27nB189_p0029a01心,至覓心了不可得,與汝安心竟便悟去,為甚麼後J27nB189_p0029a02來在婬房酒肆?人問其故,曰:『我自調心,非關汝事。』若J27nB189_p0029a03心既安,云何欲調,則安者何心,調者何物?若道一心,J27nB189_p0029a04何為有安調二致;若說二心,有是理乎?試定當看。果J27nB189_p0029a05若心即是佛,都莫分別,如何馬祖又道:『非心非佛。』又J27nB189_p0029a06云:『不是心,不是佛,不是物。』又云:『智不是道,心不是佛。』J27nB189_p0029a07即汝自心,便有許多安頓不下。總之情識用事,將意J27nB189_p0029a08路通處認作心性,所以東磕西撞,不得痛快。今時有J27nB189_p0029a09一等,於心意識路上,略通得去,便自稱為了事人,因J27nB189_p0029a10果罪福曾無畏懼,跨腳出眾,置箇問頭,定要問到座J27nB189_p0029a11上老漢,不管語脈亂統,將來與你分門別戶,某是某J27nB189_p0029a12非懷著許多心行。大眾!此正所謂生滅心也,去道遠J27nB189_p0029a13矣。閻家老子打你鬼骨臀有日在。這著子莫說未得J27nB189_p0029a14的人不可造次,就是得了還須保任。湧泉景欣禪師J27nB189_p0029a15云:『我四十年在裏許,尚有走作,汝等諸人,莫開大口。』J27nB189_p0029a16古德云:『見解人多,行解人萬中無一。若識漏未盡,敢J27nB189_p0029a17道輪迴去在。』又曰:『汝但盡卻今時,始得成立,亦喚作J27nB189_p0029a18立中功,轉功就他去。亦喚作就中功,親他去。』所以道:J27nB189_p0029a19『親人不得度,渠不度親人。』恁麼譬喻,尚不薦取,秪管J27nB189_p0029a20亂動舌頭。不見洞山道:『相續也大難。』盤山道:『譬如擿J27nB189_p0029a21劍揮空,空輪無跡,劍刃無傷。』又道:『時中常在,識盡功J27nB189_p0029a22忘,瞥然而起,便是傷他。』你等向人天眾前,欺心亂統J27nB189_p0029a23者,試將從上古人真摻實履,一自反看,禪以何為力?J27nB189_p0029a24以不欺為力。又曰:『若以豪端許言於本末者,皆為自J27nB189_p0029a25欺。』惟古人見徹處,方可謂之不自欺也。五祖演和尚,J27nB189_p0029a26在白雲端處掌磨司,一日端至,語之曰:『有數禪客,自J27nB189_p0029a27廬山來,詰之,皆有悟入處,教伊說亦說得,有來繇舉J27nB189_p0029a28因緣,向伊亦明得去,教伊下語亦下得,秖是未在,你J27nB189_p0029a29道如何?』演於是大疑,即私自計曰:『既悟了,說亦說得,J27nB189_p0029a30明亦明得,如何卻未在?』遂參究,連日忽然有省,從前J27nB189_p0029b01寶惜一時放下,厥後嘗語人曰:『我因茲出一身白汗,J27nB189_p0029b02便明得下載清風。』雪堂行,有頌發揮之,曰:『腦後一椎,J27nB189_p0029b03喪卻全機,淨臝臝兮絕承當,赤灑灑兮離鉤錐。下載J27nB189_p0029b04清風付與誰?』大眾知麼?凡船自南運貨而北,謂之上J27nB189_p0029b05載,自北卸貨而還,謂之下載,此是夜靜水寒魚不餌,J27nB189_p0029b06滿船空載月明歸之意。你看演和尚,在眾時豈不是J27nB189_p0029b07翹楚,猶自甘沒下寮,一聞舉著,便自不安,此正所謂J27nB189_p0029b08不自欺也。又道『從前寶惜一時放下』,放得下,方名到J27nB189_p0029b09家,則多知多解大不相干。故古人心如太虛,隨叩而J27nB189_p0029b10應,就等閒垂一機、發一語初不著意,你卻盡平生力J27nB189_p0029b11量咬嚼他不破,其或旗鎗展布各有回互,縱使橫拈J27nB189_p0029b12倒弄,事無虛設。你既宗旨不明、語句不透,不曾到古J27nB189_p0029b13人地位,硬著牙關,要圖排抑堂頭,嘔血有分在。你道J27nB189_p0029b14利害在甚麼處?蓋為情識用事。我見未空,此是你百J27nB189_p0029b15劫千生受虧底,至今猶不知非,誠可憐憫。我舉則極J27nB189_p0029b16熟公案,與你商量看。僧問趙州:『如何是祖師西來意?』J27nB189_p0029b17州云:『庭前柏樹子。』僧云:『和尚莫將境示人。』州云:『我不J27nB189_p0029b18將境示人。』曰:『如何是祖師西來意?』州云:『庭前柏樹子。』J27nB189_p0029b19彼時覺銕觜到法眼處,眼問:『承聞趙州有柏樹子話,J27nB189_p0029b20是否?』覺云:『無。』眼曰:『往來皆謂有此語,上座何得言無?』J27nB189_p0029b21覺曰:『先師實無此語,和尚莫謗先師好。』大慧拈云:『若J27nB189_p0029b22道有此語,錯過覺銕觜;若道無此語,又錯過法眼;若J27nB189_p0029b23道兩邊俱不涉,又錯過趙州。直饒總不恁麼,別有透J27nB189_p0029b24脫一路,入地獄如箭射。畢竟如何?』舉拂子云:『還見古J27nB189_p0029b25人麼?』喝一喝,大眾聽著,要識趙州麼?如天普蓋,似地J27nB189_p0029b26普擎,覺銕觜坐鎮寰中,四方納款。且道:大慧知柏樹J27nB189_p0029b27子落處麼?春風隔院桃華煖,不許遊人浪品題。還有J27nB189_p0029b28六十拄杖,三十拄杖打法眼,三十拄杖自有一人領J27nB189_p0029b29去在。可知山僧這裏賞罰分明。又僧問趙州:『狗子還J27nB189_p0029b30有佛性也無?』州云:『無。』玅喜老人,恒舉此話,令學人參,J27nB189_p0029c01云:『佛語祖語,諸方老宿語,千差萬別。若透得箇無字,J27nB189_p0029c02一時透過。』又五祖演云:『狗子勝貓十萬倍。』我常室中J27nB189_p0029c03舉此則因緣問人,一味亂下語。南泉趙州一等是公J27nB189_p0029c04案,為甚麼五祖卻恁麼道?聱訛在甚麼處?若是透得J27nB189_p0029c05斬貓公案,我要問你趙州狗子。若兩則語,一齊穿過,J27nB189_p0029c06無絲豪疑慮,我要問你,五祖演意在何處,作此語話?J27nB189_p0029c07試聽一頌:荒院深村景寂寥,有門無奈客來敲,子歸J27nB189_p0029c08啼瘦華無主,夜靜鐘沈月又高。這些關捩子,你敢一J27nB189_p0029c09時抹殺麼?若是清楚不來,打一反觀,豈不慚皇殺人,J27nB189_p0029c10尚敢大呼小叫,妄自尊大、驚愚駭俗耶?大眾!此一絡J27nB189_p0029c11索,潛心體究看,若向這裏掉臂而行,方出得生死,三J27nB189_p0029c12界不能管轄,佛也無奈你何,灑灑落落,作箇大丈夫J27nB189_p0029c13漢,回視山僧所說,豈不開眼見鬼。」以拂子直一直云:J27nB189_p0029c14「我為你一筆勾銷。」
J27nB189_p0029c15普說。師陞座,大眾集定。師驀云:「討甚麼碗?」即下座。復J27nB189_p0029c16轉身云:「大眾!你既恁麼,莫怪山僧潑惡水去也。諸禪J27nB189_p0029c17德!你蹋步向前,莫不是問佛麼?莫不是問法麼?且問J27nB189_p0029c18你喚甚麼作佛?喚甚麼作法?即今佛在那裏?法在那J27nB189_p0029c19裏?卻不去自家理會,只管倚門傍戶,向人口角邊、冊J27nB189_p0029c20子上築上許多奇言玅句在肚裏。所謂泉眼不通,被J27nB189_p0029c21沙塞了,道眼不明,知解礙了。諸仁者!若是此一著子,J27nB189_p0029c22在語言文字上,為甚麼世尊說法四十九年,又有末J27nB189_p0029c23後拈華?彼時百萬人天,無敢措一辭者。是他尋嘗秖J27nB189_p0029c24向語言裏作窠臼知解,上去留心,所以搆他不著。迦J27nB189_p0029c25葉尊者,此時忍俊不禁,不覺微笑,這也是如空合空、J27nB189_p0029c26似水投水。世尊方才道:『我有正法眼藏涅槃玅心,付J27nB189_p0029c27與迦葉。』則知四十九年所說,直是正法眼之緒餘耳。J27nB189_p0029c28要知諸佛出世遞代相沿,不過開發你我本有光明,J27nB189_p0029c29喚作正法眼,名為涅槃心。雲門垂語云:『人人盡有光J27nB189_p0029c30明在,看時不見暗昏昏,作麼生是諸人光明?』自代云:J27nB189_p0030a01『廚庫山門。』又云:『好事不如無。』圜悟勤云:『如今人才聞J27nB189_p0030a02舉著光明,便去瞠眼云:「那裏是廚庫,那裏是山門。」且J27nB189_p0030a03喜沒交涉。所以道:識取鉤頭意,莫認定盤星。此事不J27nB189_p0030a04在眼上,不在境上,須是絕知見、忘得失,淨臝臝、赤灑J27nB189_p0030a05灑,各各當人分上究取始得。』雲門云:『日裏來往,日裏J27nB189_p0030a06辨人,忽然無日月燈光,於半夜中未曾到處取一件J27nB189_p0030a07物,還取得麼?』《參同契》云:『當明中有暗,勿以暗相睹。當J27nB189_p0030a08暗中有明,勿以明相遇。』若坐斷明暗,且道是箇甚麼?J27nB189_p0030a09所以心華發明,照十方剎。盤山云:『光非照境,境亦非J27nB189_p0030a10存,光境俱忘,復是何物?』你看張拙秀才參石霜,有箇J27nB189_p0030a11入處,解道光明寂照遍河沙,凡聖含靈共我家。下邊J27nB189_p0030a12兩句又註得好,一念不生全體現,六根才動被雲遮。J27nB189_p0030a13有者秖認得箇昭昭靈靈底業識,他所以道:『要一念J27nB189_p0030a14不生方見全體,六根才動便不是也。』下來又道:『斷除J27nB189_p0030a15妄想重增病,趨向真如亦是邪。』玅玅看他得底人,出J27nB189_p0030a16語不同,斷除是病,趣向亦是病。所以道:『取不得,舍不J27nB189_p0030a17得,不可得中恁麼得。』雪竇顯禪師特頌此一則語,山J27nB189_p0030a18僧不妨隨例打鬨。頌云:『自照列孤明,為君通一線。』山J27nB189_p0030a19僧道:『益州瓠子建州薑。』『華謝樹無影,看時誰不見。』山J27nB189_p0030a20僧道:『麻黃巴荳,砒霜毒藥。』『一時撒來見不見,倒騎牛J27nB189_p0030a21兮入佛殿。』山僧道:『若不是閉卻天,麥門冬檳榔木澤,J27nB189_p0030a22一時闖將進來。』諸兄弟!這些葛藤椿子,識得則包羅J27nB189_p0030a23目前。若不會,且向此中透過一番。五色線斷,自然八J27nB189_p0030a24面玲瓏,隨處自在。豈不見香嚴在溈山會下,問一畣J27nB189_p0030a25十,問十畣百,及乎問著父母未生前道將一句來,不J27nB189_p0030a26能加畣。披簡舊日所見書籍,無有一字可讎,然後焚J27nB189_p0030a27棄所業,往南陽忠國師舊址,結茅內究。一日除瓦礫J27nB189_p0030a28擊竹,有聲凝滯,頓然開豁。便矢口說箇偈云:『一擊忘J27nB189_p0030a29所知,更不假脩持,動容揚古路,不墮悄然機。』此卻不J27nB189_p0030a30是當年學識來的,亦非是知解邊事。所以置箇上樹J27nB189_p0030b01公案,卻也奇特。道:『如人上樹,口銜一支,腳不踏支,手J27nB189_p0030b02不攀支。樹下忽有人問西來意,不對則違他所問,若J27nB189_p0030b03對他又喪身失命。』會中有箇虎頭上座,領得香嚴意,J27nB189_p0030b04便出來道:『上樹即不問,未上樹請和尚道。』香嚴呵呵J27nB189_p0030b05大笑。」師豎起拂子云:「山僧今日上樹去也,置將一問J27nB189_p0030b06來。」代云:「金香爐下銕崑崙。更聽一頌:黑貂裘敝出秦J27nB189_p0030b07關,萬言書上不為難,窮到骨頭皮裏出,肘懸金印故J27nB189_p0030b08鄉還。諸兄弟!一等是箇參禪,這些圈繢若不打徹,盡J27nB189_p0030b09是鬼家活計。如今一箇箇都道大事了畢,我且問你,J27nB189_p0030b10十方總一箇法身,為甚麼南閻浮提不曉得北鬱單J27nB189_p0030b11越事?東弗提婆不曉得西瞿耶尼事?居下方不識忉J27nB189_p0030b12利天、非非想天事?在天上亦不知地獄道事?」豎拂子J27nB189_p0030b13云:「山僧今日將東勝神洲為西牛賀洲,轉南贍部洲J27nB189_p0030b14作北俱盧洲,攪作一團,混作一塊,東西不辨,南北不J27nB189_p0030b15分。西來意即東土意,恁麼則上樹也是這箇,未上樹J27nB189_p0030b16也是這箇。拈華微笑,廚庫山門,舉著便知光明寂照,J27nB189_p0030b17父母未生,符到奉行,豈不快哉。諸仁者!莫道山僧恁J27nB189_p0030b18麼舉話,便去商量公案,此則如何,那則又如何?大眾J27nB189_p0030b19斷斷乎沒有此則會了,那則不會底事。昔大慧杲禪J27nB189_p0030b20師,斥盡諸方禪病道:『一種商量古人公案,謂之針線J27nB189_p0030b21工夫。又謂之郎君子弟禪,正墮在言語文字之最惡J27nB189_p0030b22者,故痛斥之。如商量女子出定話云:「文殊是七佛之J27nB189_p0030b23師,為甚麼出女子定不得?」曰:「文殊與女子無緣。」「罔明J27nB189_p0030b24是初地菩薩,為甚麼出得女子定?」曰:「與女子有緣。」便J27nB189_p0030b25下語云:「冤有頭債有主。」又有商量道:「文殊不合有心,J27nB189_p0030b26所以出女子定不得。罔明無心,所以出得。」便下語云:J27nB189_p0030b27「有心用處還成錯,無意求時卻宛然。」又有商量道:「文J27nB189_p0030b28殊為甚麼出女子定不得?」曰:「杓柄在女子手裏。」「罔明J27nB189_p0030b29為甚麼出得?」曰:「如蟲禦木。」又曰:「因風吹火。」又云:「爭奈J27nB189_p0030b30女子何?」邪解甚者,至於作女子入定勢、出定勢,推一J27nB189_p0030c01推、彈指一下,哭蒼天數聲,伏惟尚饗,拂袖便行之類,J27nB189_p0030c02冷地看來慚皇殺人。』玅喜頌曰:『出得出不得,是定非J27nB189_p0030c03真定,罔明與文殊,喪卻窮性命。』你看透關人,出語自J27nB189_p0030c04有來由。又如大愚芝禪師,每舉此問僧,莫有對者。乃J27nB189_p0030c05自代云:『僧投寺裏宿,賊打不防家。』石門禪師特愛此J27nB189_p0030c06語,作偈記之曰:『出定只消彈指,佛法豈用工夫。我今J27nB189_p0030c07要用便用,不管罔明文殊。』真淨和尚見之,明日陞座J27nB189_p0030c08曰:『文殊罔明見處。還有優劣也無?若言無,文殊何故J27nB189_p0030c09出女子定不得?只如今日行者擊動法鼓,同到法堂,J27nB189_p0030c10與罔明出女子定是同是別?』良久云:『不見道,欲識佛J27nB189_p0030c11性義,當觀時節因緣。』亦有偈曰:『佛性天真事,誰云別J27nB189_p0030c12有師,罔明彈指處,女子出禪時,不費纖豪力,何曾動J27nB189_p0030c13所思。眾生總平等,日用自多疑。』」師豎拂子云:「大眾!玅J27nB189_p0030c14喜大愚石門真淨,在山僧拂子頭上放大光明,照徹J27nB189_p0030c15微塵剎土,直得山河大地俱時不見,雲臺樓閣寶網J27nB189_p0030c16莊嚴,毘盧遮那如來據天光臺,文殊師利說十信法J27nB189_p0030c17門,法慧菩薩說十住法門,功德林菩薩說十行法門,J27nB189_p0030c18金剛幢菩薩說十回向法門,金剛藏菩薩說十地法J27nB189_p0030c19門,普賢菩薩說等覺地行位,如來說玅覺果海自受J27nB189_p0030c20用境界。還有善財童子,自德雲比丘,歷五十三善知J27nB189_p0030c21識,末後於普賢菩薩毛孔中,一時頓證佛等、剎等、神J27nB189_p0030c22通等、相好光明功德等。」拂一拂,喝一喝云:「此一絡索,J27nB189_p0030c23向甚麼處去也?依舊山是山、水是水,眾生世界一一J27nB189_p0030c24如然,所謂不壞法界性,而顯法界理。百華落盡啼無J27nB189_p0030c25盡,更向亂紅深處啼。」復拂一拂,喝一喝云:「此一絡索J27nB189_p0030c26又向甚麼處去也?大眾!山僧豈敢恃有超前作略,貴J27nB189_p0030c27圖今人與古人相見,將這些老骨董縛作一團,放在J27nB189_p0030c28太上老君爐裏煉作一堆灰,分與娑竭羅龍王,從色J27nB189_p0030c29究竟天雨將下來,直得盡大地一艸一葉、一塵一沙,J27nB189_p0030c30無一處不是這些老骨董,恁麼坐則見文殊,立則見J27nB189_p0031a01罔明,一舉一動;大愚石門,真淨大慧,如影隨形,朝莫J27nB189_p0031a02不離。開眼也見,合眼也見,眉毛眼睫間,無處不是。」拂J27nB189_p0031a03一拂云:「狹路桃華風雨後,馬蹄何處避殘紅。」
J27nB189_p0031a04普說。「老僧徹困也。」良久云:「誰人知此意,令我憶南泉。J27nB189_p0031a05諸兄弟!總無一星子事,放下去好。山僧不得已隨你J27nB189_p0031a06顛倒,向盤碗裏撒上些藿頭,你便道有味,卻不識好J27nB189_p0031a07歹,以虛為實。殊不知,我這裏是木札羹,無你綿味處;J27nB189_p0031a08是銕釘飯,無你咬嚼處;是塗毒鼓。無你聽聞處;是銕J27nB189_p0031a09壁銅墻,無縫罅可入處;是栗棘蓬,無你插足處;是金J27nB189_p0031a10剛圈,無你透過處。自你走諸方參得多少禪,菽麥不J27nB189_p0031a11分、指鹿為馬,似箇猴子相似,到處攀緣,狂象一般,信J27nB189_p0031a12腳亂走,亦似箇羊喫物,觸著便安在口裏,又似窮措J27nB189_p0031a13大見食,好歹築上一肚,點胸點頭道:『我會禪。』生大我J27nB189_p0031a14慢,自誤誤人,不問青白,開口亂道,坐繩床底,自眼不J27nB189_p0031a15開,不透古人關捩,安有為人手段。所以臨濟大師道:J27nB189_p0031a16『參學之人大須子細。如賓主相見,便有言論往來。或J27nB189_p0031a17應物見形,或全體作用,或把機權喜怒,或見半身,或J27nB189_p0031a18乘師子,或乘象王,如有真正學人便喝,先拈出一箇J27nB189_p0031a19膠盆子。善知識不辨是境,便上他境上作模作樣,被J27nB189_p0031a20學人又喝,前人不肯放,此是膏肓之病,不堪醫治。喚J27nB189_p0031a21作賓看主。或是善知識不拈出物,秖隨學人問處即J27nB189_p0031a22奪,學人被奪抵死不放,此是主看賓。或有學人應一J27nB189_p0031a23箇清淨境,出善知識前,知識辨得是境,把得拋向阬J27nB189_p0031a24裏,學人言大好善知識,知識即云:「咄哉!不識好惡。」學J27nB189_p0031a25人禮拜。此喚作主看主。或有學人披枷帶鎖出善知J27nB189_p0031a26識前,知識更與安一重枷鎖,學人歡喜,彼此不辨。此J27nB189_p0031a27喚作賓看賓。』大德!山僧所舉,皆是辨魔揀異,知其邪J27nB189_p0031a28正,看他臨濟立出箇賓主,彼時善其機者亦不多得,J27nB189_p0031a29況至今日,此道寥寥玄音絕唱。適才有僧問我賓主J27nB189_p0031a30人境,因之話及:若論主看賓,如安石圍碁,賭墅破符J27nB189_p0031b01秦百萬,直得艸木皆兵,如公瑾羽扇綸巾焚赤壁,檣J27nB189_p0031b02櫓一時灰飛煙滅。若論賓看主,如武王陳師牧野,紂J27nB189_p0031b03兵倒戈,如沛公直抵函關,子嬰啣璧。若論主看主,則J27nB189_p0031b04彼此主將善別來機,雖則旗槍展布,對壘交鋒,看去J27nB189_p0031b05似有輸贏,並不損兵折將。若論賓看賓,則彼此主將J27nB189_p0031b06非人,兩軍步伐不整,不審虛實強弱,不識進退作止,J27nB189_p0031b07兩下亂殺一場,各各覆師辱國。此等大概,諸人也須J27nB189_p0031b08共知,莫一向瞞盰亂統,秖成一場笑具。臨濟之後,首J27nB189_p0031b09山中興,他更將賓主話特出手眼示眾曰:『諸上座!不J27nB189_p0031b10得胡喝亂喝,尋常向汝道:賓即始終賓,主即始終主,J27nB189_p0031b11賓無二賓、主無二主,若有二賓二主,即是兩箇瞎漢。』J27nB189_p0031b12又曰:『我若立,汝須坐,我若坐,汝須立,坐即共汝坐,立J27nB189_p0031b13即共汝立。雖然如是,到這裏著眼始得。若也眼目定J27nB189_p0031b14動,中間即千里萬里。何故如此?隔窗見騎馬,眨眼便J27nB189_p0031b15過去也。直須仔細,不得掠虛好。』山僧今日試舉幾則J27nB189_p0031b16話柄,貴與首山相見。法華舉到瑯琊覺處,琊問:『近離J27nB189_p0031b17甚處?』曰:『兩浙。』曰:『船來陸來?』曰:『船來。』曰:『船在甚處?』曰:『步J27nB189_p0031b18下。』曰:『不涉程途一句作麼生道?』舉以坐具摵一摵曰:J27nB189_p0031b19『杜撰長老,如麻似粟。』拂袖而出。琊問侍者曰:『此是甚J27nB189_p0031b20麼人?』者曰:『舉上座。』琊曰:『莫是舉師叔麼?先師教我尋J27nB189_p0031b21見伊。』遂下旦過問:『上座莫是舉師叔麼?莫怪適來觸J27nB189_p0031b22忤。』舉便喝,復問:『長老何時到汾陽?』琊曰:『某時到。』舉曰:J27nB189_p0031b23『我在浙江,早聞你名,原來見解秖如此,何得名譒寰J27nB189_p0031b24宇?』琊遂作禮曰:『某甲罪過。』大眾!你看他作家相見,有J27nB189_p0031b25如是風規,有如是進退。大慧拈云:『二大士驀劄相逢,J27nB189_p0031b26主賓互換,直下發明臨濟心髓,苟非徹證向上巴鼻,J27nB189_p0031b27具出常情正眼,未免得失論量。』或者道:『舉公前來,一J27nB189_p0031b28一據實秖對。琅琊末後,不合作佛法道理,是杜撰處。』J27nB189_p0031b29或者道:『琅琊被他道箇杜撰,心中疑惑,即時倒戈卸J27nB189_p0031b30甲。挽留舉公咨決此事,謂之坐參。』一犬吠虛,千猱啀J27nB189_p0031c01實,蓋由主法者智眼不明,疑誤後人。殊不知二大士J27nB189_p0031c02激揚,若日月麗天,龍象蹴踏,非驢所堪;井蛙醯雞,又J27nB189_p0031c03焉知宇宙之寬曠乎?又如僧問桐峰云:『和尚這裏忽J27nB189_p0031c04遇大蟲作麼生?』峰便作大蟲吼,僧作怕勢,峰大笑,僧J27nB189_p0031c05云:『者老賊。』峰曰:『爭奈老僧何?』雪竇云:『是則是,兩箇老J27nB189_p0031c06賊,只解掩耳偷鈴。你看此兩人,自起自倒,彼此干戈。』J27nB189_p0031c07山僧有一頌云:『山裏大蟲山裏吼,借你拳頭築你口。』J27nB189_p0031c08大丈夫,氣宇如王,豈肯參前落後。賊賊賊,喜的是風,J27nB189_p0031c09怨的是雪。又如甘贄行者,一日入南泉設齋,黃檗為J27nB189_p0031c10首座,行者請施財,座曰:『財法二施,等無差別。』甘曰:『恁J27nB189_p0031c11麼道,爭消得某甲嚫?』便將出去,須臾復入曰:『請施財。』J27nB189_p0031c12座曰:『財法二施,等無差別。』甘乃行嚫。翠巖真云:『甘贄J27nB189_p0031c13行者,點兒落節,黃檗施財,何曾夢見?』玅喜舉翠巖語J27nB189_p0031c14云:『一等是隨邪逐惡,這雲居羅漢猶較些子。』翠巖大J27nB189_p0031c15慧觀風知變,裁抑有方,只是但見錐頭利,不見鑿頭J27nB189_p0031c16方。黃檗運籌帷幄之中,決勝千里之外,行者兩度衝J27nB189_p0031c17鋒,一抬一捺,黃檗坐觀成敗,可謂用盡自己心,笑破J27nB189_p0031c18了他人口。又一日入寺設粥,仍請南泉念誦,泉乃白J27nB189_p0031c19椎云:『請大眾為黧奴白牯念摩訶般若波羅蜜。』甘拂J27nB189_p0031c20袖便出,泉粥罷問典座:『行者在甚麼處?』座曰:『當時便J27nB189_p0031c21去也。』泉便打破鍋子。兔子懷胎,蚌含明月,三十棒寄J27nB189_p0031c22打。雪竇六不收,看破雲門。女媧氏煉石補天,秦始皇J27nB189_p0031c23驅山塞海,雖然如是,三十年後一回飲水一回噎。又J27nB189_p0031c24如谷泉慈明一見便問:『白雲橫谷口,遊人何處來?』谷J27nB189_p0031c25泉卻乃左右顧云:『夜來何處火,燒出古人墳?』你道我J27nB189_p0031c26白雲橫谷,我還你赤火燒墳。慈明到者裏,直得無可J27nB189_p0031c27奈何,便裂幅布遮卻面皮,呵曰:『未在更道。』谷泉乃作J27nB189_p0031c28虎聲,慈明以坐具摵之,谷泉接住推置禪床上,慈明J27nB189_p0031c29卻作虎聲,谷泉大笑曰:『我見七十餘員善知識,今日J27nB189_p0031c30始遇作家。』今時據曲彔木底,若不具如是爪牙,不知J27nB189_p0032a01賓主互換,要擒縱臨時,豈可得也。且斷斷乎不是鬥J27nB189_p0032a02百艸底,你一語,我一句,不問主賓,無有合殺。方知我J27nB189_p0032a03此法門,如龍有翼,似虎戴角,嬰他不得,近他不得,如J27nB189_p0032a04一盆猛火,觸著便燒,大方闊步,起死回生,繼佛慧命,J27nB189_p0032a05豈不美哉?又如三聖問雪峰:『透網金鱗以何為食?』峰J27nB189_p0032a06云:『待汝出網來,向汝道。』聖曰:『一千五百人善知識,話J27nB189_p0032a07頭也不識。』峰云:『老僧住持事繁。』三聖是將門之子,用J27nB189_p0032a08處固有家法,雪峰是卜商之後,善於方人。一箇是海J27nB189_p0032a09東青,慣打天鵝,一箇是金翅鳥,擘海吞龍。雖然,作雪J27nB189_p0032a10峰則易,作三聖則難,他要從刀鎗林裏過,不損一毛,J27nB189_p0032a11百花叢中來,不沾一瓣,始是作家。又如巖頭一日參J27nB189_p0032a12德山,方跨門,便問:『是凡是聖?』山便喝,頭禮拜。有人舉J27nB189_p0032a13似洞山,山曰:『若不是奯公,大難承當。』頭曰:『洞山老人J27nB189_p0032a14不識好惡,錯下名言,我當時一手抬一手捺,德山是J27nB189_p0032a15韞玉之璞石,巖頭是剖玉之良工,始終俱玅,秖不當J27nB189_p0032a16持一條斷貫索,要量無邊身菩薩身,才多少長,不免J27nB189_p0032a17被旁人恥笑。且道笑箇甚麼?笑他是貴介公子,打敺J27nB189_p0032a18儺沿門乞丐。』大慧拈云:『猛虎不識阱,阱中身死;蛟龍J27nB189_p0032a19不怖劍,劍下身亡。巖頭雖於虎阱中別有透脫一路,J27nB189_p0032a20向劍刃上有翻身之機,若子細檢點將來,猶欠悟在。』J27nB189_p0032a21山僧極愛大慧此一拈,時嘗舉以驗人,無有愜老僧J27nB189_p0032a22意者。但大慧拈底固玅,中間有箇絲頭不接處,直待J27nB189_p0032a23你五色線斷,方才向你道。山僧上來一一恁麼批判,J27nB189_p0032a24你若向語言上卜度,則山僧有沒量罪過,若一往不J27nB189_p0032a25疑言句,則你有沒量罪過。所以道:『識取鉤頭意,莫認J27nB189_p0032a26定盤星。』有者道:『但盡今時,莫著言語,今時若盡,更有J27nB189_p0032a27甚事?』山僧道:『你若語句過去不得,今時正未盡在,蓋J27nB189_p0032a28為一法不明,盡是生死根株。』又有強作主宰,秖要謾J27nB189_p0032a29過一時,所以光陰唐喪,虛度一生,又不肯潛心體會,J27nB189_p0032a30虛心請益,是以言不足聽、行不足法,取次亂道,識者J27nB189_p0032b01所鄙,可發一歎。」擲拂子,下座。
