J23nB127_p0340b05粵自三教行而禪道至今日甚盛矣,然禪統至今日J23nB127_p0340b06漸淆矣。費隱本師,有殷憂焉。去秋未赴徑山,時九月J23nB127_p0340b07既望,自福嚴抵禾,招余同詣雲間,館于小崑山房,與J23nB127_p0340b08士材李居士將舊本《五燈》推詳授受根究來繇,抉從J23nB127_p0340b09前之疑窟,訂向後之信傳。光明正大,為開闢來,佛教J23nB127_p0340b10流通,一大準則。至洞宗如淨以後,非無續刊,然而影J23nB127_p0340b11承響接,較儒家之魯魚亥豕更甚。流而至評唱訓詁J23nB127_p0340b12之差訛,咸得竊名正統,殊增浩嘆。余三人矢公矢慎,J23nB127_p0340b13溯源析流,採集五卷,皆百禪師苦心遍索手錄成帙J23nB127_p0340b14者。比時深憂,任事無人,募資乏力,余目擊心賞,慨焉J23nB127_p0340b15擔荷,束卷南還,輸金購梨,鳩工寫劂,旋到金粟,與百J23nB127_p0340b16師又加釐剔,親為較讎,朝催暮逼,至春初竣業,而後J23nB127_p0340b17喜可知也。共前翻刻計二十五卷,總顏曰《五燈嚴統》。J23nB127_p0340b18茲秋孟,徑山老人寄士材序文至,閱之朗朗揭日,足J23nB127_p0340b19令售贗鼎者緘口。余不諳,且不文,竊於命名,至意不J23nB127_p0340b20能嘿嘿而處於此。何也?西竺五印,禪脈也;東旦五葉,J23nB127_p0340b21禪宗也。一分為五,雖百千萬億,會歸一元,則正統當J23nB127_p0340b22覈五殽於一,則建幢立法;漸至不可思議,則閏統當J23nB127_p0340b23稽。況別戶分門,慮不無長短簧鼓則合而分,分而合J23nB127_p0340b24之,統當辨。夫覈也,稽也,辨也,皆嚴也。嚴與刻相反,而J23nB127_p0340b25毋縱毋濫,非我是人非以為嚴。余幼習儒,曾選刻歷J23nB127_p0340b26朝鑑燦典則芳摹經書二指行世,可不負儒。長而從J23nB127_p0340b27佛,未登賢書之籍,先廁密室之名,亦為選刻《諸經指J23nB127_p0340c01南》、《高僧摘要》、《醒世錄》、《法華經卓解》、《金剛經會解》數集。J23nB127_p0340c02今費老人與百禪師前引後接,左挈右提,事事相扶,J23nB127_p0340c03心心相印,箇中既通消息,功名等若浮雲,遂棄公車,J23nB127_p0340c04猛圖佛乘,所以茲編合掌承當,跂足立就,執鞭從事,J23nB127_p0340c05以心之所欽,樹天下萬世之防,敢曰有功於禪,庶幾J23nB127_p0340c06不負禪云。
序徑山志壬辰新夏日書于雙徑留玉樓中
J23nB127_p0340c08天下名山,惟徑山形勝,鍾靈獨異;天下古剎,唯徑山J23nB127_p0340c09叢林, 帝寵獨隆。余素心慕,未一登覽。喜費隱老人J23nB127_p0340c10主席茲山,因《五燈嚴統》鳩工未竣,過余相商。鹽城之J23nB127_p0340c11士大夫諸善信,若赤子久失慈母,各負米供養,須臾J23nB127_p0340c12而纍百石。費老人曰:「歲儉,荷蒙多助,心殊弗安。」不五J23nB127_p0340c13日而旋旆。余不忍遽爾分袂,一路伴行至檇李。先大J23nB127_p0340c14司馬元仗兄曾孫輩,攀留齋嚫,捐粟盈秉,抵塘棲沈J23nB127_p0340c15姓者,裏糧以待,縴纜而贈。其至誠感人,隨地輸將如J23nB127_p0340c16此。四舟銜尾,梯航而濟,亦不五日而入山。但見諸峰J23nB127_p0340c17環拱,秀采迭呈,夾道皆參天古木,密布俱插地新篁,J23nB127_p0340c18蒼蒼欲滴,翠翠若流,勢似奔而紋迴,形似伏而神聳。J23nB127_p0340c19應接不暇,靄色可餐。將入門而群賢屏列于巖側,及J23nB127_p0340c20登堂而龍象交參于庭前。余迤邐于後,睹此肅肅威J23nB127_p0340c21儀,整整法幢,而後知有其人而山始靈,有其法而人J23nB127_p0340c22始重,非偶然也。甫憩息間,費老人持徑山志稿示。余J23nB127_p0340c23陡誦,因具悉國一祖師欽開山時,神龍獻地而井樹J23nB127_p0340c24隆千古,菩薩現形而巨石喝三塊。代宗皇帝賜號,禮J23nB127_p0340c25同弟子;名臣三十二皈依,稱列門人。德宗璽檄,憲帝J23nB127_p0340c26碑銘,生而朢隆九重,沒而流風百世。後雖名師輩出,J23nB127_p0340c27芳躅漸稀。迨二十世,而大慧禪師復振前徽,為此山J23nB127_p0341a01中興法主。縉紳入室,有無垢不動諸軒;衲子坐夏,計J23nB127_p0341a02一千七百圍繞。佛法冠天下,聲名溢京師,出山入山J23nB127_p0341a03無改節,賜紫賜號有餘裒。綱要五冊,詔入大藏。卓哉J23nB127_p0341a04盛事,誰堪媲美?幸元叟端禪師值至治壬戌,徑山虛J23nB127_p0341a05席,宣政行院奏請補住璽贈金襴袈裟。適道家言上J23nB127_p0341a06章謁▆天帝為選徑山四十八代住持,天閽不開,正J23nB127_p0341a07符其數。師朝京,夢山潭龍君持金匙舉食食。師主法J23nB127_p0341a08席,十八春秋,亦其讖也。自茲南楚禪師而下,月林禪J23nB127_p0341a09師以上計八十七世,歷唐宋來一燬于慶元己未,住J23nB127_p0341a10持元聰新之。兩災于昭定癸巳、淳佑壬寅,無準禪師J23nB127_p0341a11營之。及雲玅高之世,至元乙亥、己丑疊火,屢捐衣缽,J23nB127_p0341a12悉力營搆,盡更舊規,稍稍安居。明正德以後,越今幾J23nB127_p0341a13二百年,主席不定,宗乘久虛,去來者等若傳舍,負隅J23nB127_p0341a14者認為故居。茲順治庚寅,費老人赴眾檀護之請,來J23nB127_p0341a15主斯席,以實心行實事,絕無人我是非,以道力轉法J23nB127_p0341a16輪,具見超佛越祖,目擊宗祖之逼處西偏也,為之建J23nB127_p0341a17祖堂于殿之左;不忍碩德之無稱于後也,為之建名J23nB127_p0341a18宿堂于殿之右。方丈窄隘,創于殿東,亦規模不得不J23nB127_p0341a19如此,初非居求廣也,以山之靈,振老人之法;以老人J23nB127_p0341a20之大機大用,煥目前之五嶽凌霄。法席有餘燠,山色J23nB127_p0341a21有餘煇,座下英賢振鐸諸方大剎,廣布聲施,咸以祖J23nB127_p0341a22宗真血脈滴滴流傳,宜其開拓宏而垂休遠也。余遍J23nB127_p0341a23陟峻絕,遠眺層峰,不覺泫然淚下。憶先君資善大夫J23nB127_p0341a24星魯公,年踰九旬。時頌此山為佛窟而弗克躡足。二J23nB127_p0341a25先兄大司馬忠烈肩虞公拉余同游,竟王事驅馳杳J23nB127_p0341a26焉齎志。余雖不顧身家,疏聞當宁上贈下廕,際此一J23nB127_p0341a27游一不游,能不撫心長嘆。長兄光祿型唐公登眺,尋J23nB127_p0341b01龍胍,高低俱置,不道能臥游諸勝,然兀坐蓬窗。余儒J23nB127_p0341b02而釋者也,佛門大事外無大事,竊欲以昔日靈山會J23nB127_p0341b03為今日徑山會,舉四十九年吞吐未盡之機緣,仗費J23nB127_p0341b04老人重重拈出。余則以今日維世心,印昔日維摩法,J23nB127_p0341b05舉八十七代住持已成之公案,俾余不肖一一追扶。J23nB127_p0341b06近閱老人進山法語,如追回臨濟家風,捩轉列祖鼻J23nB127_p0341b07孔。尊宿當年如寶集無窮三昧潑空流等語,不覺鼓J23nB127_p0341b08掌大悅,庶幾哉,撐天立地于今見,繼往開來永賴之。J23nB127_p0341b09謹序。
百和尚全部語錄序
J23nB127_p0341b11宗門之語,語法也正所以語心也。蓋此心法不容擬J23nB127_p0341b12議,不容限量,審時度節,隨因溯緣,或語地,或語人,或J23nB127_p0341b13語語,或不語語,乃稱獨步者,曹溪而上莫以喻其前;J23nB127_p0341b14頌開來者,太白而下,反若窄其緒而不知。語雖不同,J23nB127_p0341b15心無二心,法無二法也。惟心法昭而筆墨皆生動,齒J23nB127_p0341b16頰皆馨香。我法兄百翁,悉備而光大之,有才而若無J23nB127_p0341b17才,具識而若無識。捷得心印,而若一無所得;廣傳賢J23nB127_p0341b18聖,而若一無所傳。恂恂然一舉一動皆實心,一咳一J23nB127_p0341b19吐皆實意。真不可語,何嘗不語?其似者似不可語,何J23nB127_p0341b20嘗必語其似者?語所當語,何嘗不語其真?而似似而J23nB127_p0341b21真者,語所不當語,何嘗必語其真非真似非似者。總J23nB127_p0341b22之,千百年之血脈,流傳于此一語;千百世之肩荷,弘J23nB127_p0341b23護於此一語。此而猶得謂一人之事業乎?此而猶得J23nB127_p0341b24謂一世之文章乎?吾披閱再四,爽焉若失,西江之可J23nB127_p0341b25以一口吸也。茫茫大海亦復如是;東山之可以小魯J23nB127_p0341b26登也,巍巍泰山亦復如是。吾深羨其如是,竟不知其J23nB127_p0341b27何以如是。建瓴之水,萬里濯足;倒峽之勢,千仞振衣。J23nB127_p0341c01至於靜裏傳響,冷地發燄,尤在善解者,迎其刃焉。
闢邪題詞
J23nB127_p0341c03余佩服儒教,攻苦有年,蓋通晝夜寒暑,而行住坐臥J23nB127_p0341c04于此中,方以未得理道為憾,忍聽邪說亂之也哉!日J23nB127_p0341c05兢兢焉,以一善之得、一隙之明,急為傳布,嘉與流通。J23nB127_p0341c06何帝典王謨、名臣烈士、貞夫節婦,不一一表章于帙J23nB127_p0341c07中。迄上古中古當時君相豐功偉業,咸密密裒崇于J23nB127_p0341c08言外,無非以大經大法,迪人心而開人目,使異說不J23nB127_p0341c09得乘而中也。偶於中秋,偕費隱禪師連舟詣禾,迎密J23nB127_p0341c10老人,見其案前所列諸書,若痛斥夫邪教之以偽亂J23nB127_p0341c11真,貶佛毀道,且授儒攻儒,有不昭其罪,洞其奸,彰灼J23nB127_p0341c12其中,禍于人,流害于世,胥天下而膺之,懲之不已者,J23nB127_p0341c13南有宗伯,北有諫臣,𠳿𠳿疏論,其猾稽蠱惑之奸,已J23nB127_p0341c14稱直窮到底。閩諸君子、浙諸大夫,侃侃糾繩。夫以技J23nB127_p0341c15衒巧,以利誘愚,口誅創異,筆伐黨同,何啻張膽明目。J23nB127_p0341c16至于雲棲有說、密老有辯、費師有揭邪之不容攛正J23nB127_p0341c17也,纚纚數千言,佛與儒同一衛道之心矣。費師又慮J23nB127_p0341c18巧偽易滋,除蔓匪細,不合諸刻揭諸塗,使人人警省,J23nB127_p0341c19在在聳惕焉。能戶為說而家為喻,因以數帙授昌治,J23nB127_p0341c20編其節次,臚其條款,列其名目,一種憂世覺人之苦J23nB127_p0341c21心,洞若指掌;一段明大道、肅紀綱、息邪說、放淫詞,較J23nB127_p0341c22若列眉。于中刪繁就簡,去肉存髓,凡一言一字,可以J23nB127_p0341c23激發人心,抹殺異類,有補于一時,有功于萬世者,靡J23nB127_p0341c24不急錄以梓。
J23nB127_p0341c25百癡元曰:追金琢玉,字字光鮮,溯本窮源,言言慨J23nB127_p0341c26切。一以維持名教,一以輔弼祖庭。世道人心,裨益J23nB127_p0341c27豈淺淺哉?子輿有言:吾為此懼閑先聖之道,距楊J23nB127_p0342a01墨放淫辭,邪說者不得作。於覲翁見之。
序雲濤集
J23nB127_p0342a03黃檗隱元禪師,費老人法嗣也。其悟道則有行繇,其J23nB127_p0342a04建幢則有語錄,不具論。祗如負擔,走天童,登祖堂,掃J23nB127_p0342a05祖塔,渡江而北詣金粟。覲師不肖,始得一接色笑,見J23nB127_p0342a06其巍巍器宇,稜稜俠骨,滿口珠璣,遍體德業,而後知J23nB127_p0342a07身任道法者,如山之峻、如海之汪,未易測度高深也。J23nB127_p0342a08未幾,振鐸福嚴,結茆為廬,問道環堵不肖。于庚寅夏J23nB127_p0342a09壽費老人于此山,而具悉其澹泊平易,不擇地而引J23nB127_p0342a10掖如此。辛卯冬,良上人捧師《雲濤集》募刻,陡誦一字J23nB127_p0342a11一真金,一語一至寶,如復轉檗庭之淒涼甘如飴,倏J23nB127_p0342a12焉盛大履如素,點綴十二峰于紙上,人得披卷而領J23nB127_p0342a13略,剖示十四景于目前,隨在借喻以顯真。此津梁筏J23nB127_p0342a14也,此指南訣也。余喜而捐貲,相助成帙,且為一序顛J23nB127_p0342a15末。凡寓目者,幸弗以寄情適意,為一時酬對選勝之J23nB127_p0342a16書而作文字會,則幾矣。
題靈師語錄序
J23nB127_p0342a18捐金建菴,供養大善知識者,道真也,命名直指,廣示J23nB127_p0342a19人心,見性成佛者,徑山老人也。奉法惟謹,守先待後,J23nB127_p0342a20而提唱宗乘者,老人法嗣靈岳禪師也。余于鹽官領J23nB127_p0342a21其披膈,心為向往。茲于雙徑接其謦欬,益切神依,似J23nB127_p0342a22不能嘿嘿處此,然而不能無慨于今日也。有等認唾J23nB127_p0342a23餘作生涯,珍糞團為至寶,弁髦一切我慢上人,呵呵J23nB127_p0342a24鼠喫貓兒飯,推枕落地時,活潑翻身轉,一句半句從J23nB127_p0342a25何著,乃誇多鬥靡謬,認見過于師,不顧籌,可入室而J23nB127_p0342a26止取肘滿,縱橫迴思,築拳脅下,轉師黃檗者,究成往J23nB127_p0342a27事,一似主伯家以亞旅為勝,朋黨中以羽翼為先。那J23nB127_p0342b01知壯士展臂,獅子游行,渾身脫落漆桶底,窗櫺怎過J23nB127_p0342b02水牯牛?接引一淆,則龍蛇雜進,若廟若祠,盡做開堂J23nB127_p0342b03勝地,擎拳豎指,便稱說法宗風。承當既謬,演法日卑。J23nB127_p0342b04嗚呼!鴛鴦繡出從君看,金鍼終不度與人,遠之遠矣。J23nB127_p0342b05自此而依稀彷彿道場,便滋圖利徇私外護,如缶醯J23nB127_p0342b06黃蚋,聚之有酸,盲以引盲,偽以附偽,彼此相蒙,日淪J23nB127_p0342b07污下,祖庭誰為撐扶,宗綱立見頹敗。此皆旁蹊曲徑,J23nB127_p0342b08舉光明正大、直截現前之道,而故違之。宜老人有概J23nB127_p0342b09于中,汲汲指點而菴稱其名。靈師步趨其內,舉揚箇J23nB127_p0342b10事而名踐其實,正是象王行處絕狐蹤,一堂授受,有J23nB127_p0342b11的據也。昔庖丁批卻導款,一朝解十二牛,而刃若新J23nB127_p0342b12發于硎。竊于靈師,有厚望焉。雖然余亦多此一番饒J23nB127_p0342b13舌,墻外鳥啼聲已碎,盡在搖頭不語中。是為序。

序寫峰
J23nB127_p0342b16天下叢林皆善知識說法度人之地。恬退者必藉靜J23nB127_p0342b17室為憩息。其未出山者,亦每搆一椽,創一址,長養法J23nB127_p0342b18幢,嫻習矩矱,為他日大行廣布之始基。如示方法姪,J23nB127_p0342b19本師費老人之孫,孤雲兄之子也。建剎于鹽之北關J23nB127_p0342b20外,新篁密插,古柏高擎,梅環于左,水流于右,前有雉J23nB127_p0342b21堞,後有勺居,東濱大海,西峙浮圖。毛父母寓目心喜J23nB127_p0342b22題曰:寫峰。明明祇樹園而不寫,明明舍衛城而不寫,J23nB127_p0342b23明明阿耨池而不寫,明明竹林精舍而不寫,而所寫J23nB127_p0342b24者峰也。豈以東南之秦駐稍遠,西南之紫雲尚遙?必J23nB127_p0342b25欲東北起一層巒,西北障一天塹,而百鳥銜花之異,J23nB127_p0342b26竟在指顧間乎。一峰而該千峰萬峰,萬峰千峰而統J23nB127_p0342b27于此一峰,俱無暇論。總之,有竹有梅,有泉有石。界東J23nB127_p0342c01藩為佛室,邈西舍若雲居。海濤與梵音同韻,松風與J23nB127_p0342c02林吼齊聲。莫道閉門不是深山也。
J23nB127_p0342c03釣雪鑑曰:「奇巧疊出,是蘇黃小品中最佳處。」
法華經卓解敘
J23nB127_p0342c05諸經皆修行軌則,獨法華妙義,殷殷開導,殷殷示方J23nB127_p0342c06便法門,種種曉喻、種種現接引神力,務使未信令信,J23nB127_p0342c07未解令解,未善生善,已善增長,豎窮三際,橫亙十方,J23nB127_p0342c08在在醒人敬禮,處處肅人遵奉。借權顯實,而實之真J23nB127_p0342c09體躍躍在吐露間;懸一通三,而三之指歸隱隱在趨J23nB127_p0342c10步外。予年屆八旬有五,精力日憊,資用日窘,回思大J23nB127_p0342c11恩未報,駒隙空延,急集法華諸論,而天台智師之科J23nB127_p0342c12註為詳師詮藏、通、別、圓四教,而藏中菩薩乘概隸為J23nB127_p0342c13小,不無遺議。復檢清涼國師,小、始、終、頓、圓五教,揭其J23nB127_p0342c14全宗,細將七卷句為逗、節為解,一登繕帙,便付剞劂。J23nB127_p0342c15彷昔賢豪,秉燭夜遊之意,亦俾速于披閱心目蚤豁,J23nB127_p0342c16如杲日麗天,萬象靡不領其光、荷其炤。此經分疏明J23nB127_p0342c17了,自軌軌他,或得有功于法寶,有益于人心,有利于J23nB127_p0342c18天下後世焉。若介介擬議于如何玅法、如何蓮華,是J23nB127_p0342c19不覷透本根,徒枝尋葉摘,奚補哉?
金剛經會解了義序
J23nB127_p0342c21予於戊辰燕邸考授別駕時,誦起《金剛經》,閱今三十J23nB127_p0342c22五載,口為誦而心無解,欲以不解解之。初非此可解,J23nB127_p0342c23彼不可解。又非有可解,有不可解。竊嘆義味何如是J23nB127_p0342c24深奧?究竟無淺如何有深,無顯如何有奧,大而世界J23nB127_p0342c25此也,細而微塵此也。明明可舉,似明明無可舉;似繁J23nB127_p0342c26而生類此也,約而四相此也;實實有係屬,實實無所J23nB127_p0342c27係屬。法可說,而法原無法,併說亦無說;物可度,而物J23nB127_p0343a01無其物,併度亦非度。上而授記無授記,下而受持無J23nB127_p0343a02受持,中而演說四句偈,無從而演說。諸相不立,歸于J23nB127_p0343a03無我,造作不生,泯于無為。總之無可住之法,便無可J23nB127_p0343a04住之心;有住而無住之心,即是不降而降之法。故護J23nB127_p0343a05念非不諄切,而去來坐臥先無定;付囑非不叮嚀,而J23nB127_p0343a06夢幻泡影誰是真?予遍搜諸解,俱不過會文絜義,尋J23nB127_p0343a07章摘句爾。已于其中,煩者汰之,訛者訂之,晦者醒之,J23nB127_p0343a08倒者整之,前後呼應者暢其詞,虛實轉變者通其意,J23nB127_p0343a09謂直溯靈山會上,覿面吐露,覿面稟承,世尊不說說,J23nB127_p0343a10須菩提不聞聞,阿難結集于儼然未散時,而會取當J23nB127_p0343a11日情景,余則何敢?若以堅利喻金剛,余則曰堅莫堅J23nB127_p0343a12于此心,利莫利于此信法之心,心光即是佛光,人人J23nB127_p0343a13有現成般若,證佛不如證心,在在有捷徑六波羅蜜。J23nB127_p0343a14至于非名是名,正第一義難形容處,如云日出西方J23nB127_p0343a15夜落東,桃花雪白李花紅,何獨不然?
資聖募建雲水房疏
J23nB127_p0343a18J23nB127_p0343a19法門功德,齋僧為上。而接待行腳使至者如歸,又齋J23nB127_p0343a20僧中喫緊事。近法兄破堂頭闡化,延納四方參徒,食J23nB127_p0343a21訖即去,以無安單也。茲山東客僧傳正,號澹菴,目擊J23nB127_p0343a22屋窄地寬,發願叩募,啟建數椽,一以便雲遊往來,一J23nB127_p0343a23以專學人觀聽。因此僧係先胞兄肩虞公巡撫山東J23nB127_p0343a24時,曾為屬吏,遇亂長剃,籍此功行,以了夙緣,浼予弁J23nB127_p0343a25首。予已住靜南郊,一切付不聞不見,因以此僧懇請J23nB127_p0343a26之故,及與破和尚來諭,辭之不克,聊為捉筆,所謂供J23nB127_p0343a27養百千諸佛,不如供養無心道人。特以告諸具眼者。

J23nB127_p0343b02按:忉利天城東,有佛髮塔,城西歡喜園中,有佛缽塔,J23nB127_p0343b03城中御駕園中,有佛牙塔。至阿育王造八萬四千塔,J23nB127_p0343b04敕閻浮提及于海際、城邑聚落,滿一億家者,即為立J23nB127_p0343b05塔。此時欲得舍利供養,遂將四部兵眾至王舍城,取J23nB127_p0343b06阿闍世王佛塔中舍利。又取七佛塔中舍利,以金、銀、J23nB127_p0343b07琉璃、玻璃筐盛之。復作八萬四千寶瓶,以盛此筐。從J23nB127_p0343b08來舍利有三種,骨舍利色白、髮舍利色黑、肉舍利色J23nB127_p0343b09赤。後孫權時沙門康僧會,極言舍利,應現無方。權曰:J23nB127_p0343b10「何在?」會曰:「佛神跡感通,祈求可獲。」權即委會求,經三J23nB127_p0343b11七日,至誠禱請,遂獲瓶中。旦呈于權,光炤宮殿,權執J23nB127_p0343b12缾瀉于銅盆,舍利下衝,盤即破碎。權大驚異,會曰:「佛J23nB127_p0343b13之靈骨,金剛不朽,劫火不焦,槌砧不碎。」權使力者盡J23nB127_p0343b14力擊之,槌砧俱陷,舍利不損,光明四射。以是知建塔J23nB127_p0343b15難得,舍利又難。今又節法師重建真如塔,殫思締造J23nB127_p0343b16四層,工程浩大,又三處得舍利五顆,因緣巧湊,出自J23nB127_p0343b17天助,豈人力哉?丙申春仲,詣鹽西林菴開講《楞嚴》尊J23nB127_p0343b18經,募諸善信,隨緣喜捨,以竟前功。洵是垂絲千尺鉤J23nB127_p0343b19還曲,利物多方語帶悲。若不體究說法本意,恐說者J23nB127_p0343b20說到盡未來際也說不了,即聽者聽到盡未來際也J23nB127_p0343b21聽不了。故行到水窮處,還當坐看雲起時。願令如幻J23nB127_p0343b22如夢之眾,特發如饑如溺之心,圓成如金如剛之塔,J23nB127_p0343b23方為烈焰堆中撈得月,否則趨向真如亦是邪。
J23nB127_p0343b24釣雪鑑曰:「文節只造一座塔,覲翁便現出種種塔J23nB127_p0343b25樣。文節以土木瓦石為塔,覲翁以筆墨心華為塔。J23nB127_p0343b26且道誰優誰劣?具眼者試定當看。」
塔塘橋序
J23nB127_p0343c01聞之檀那六度利濟為最上乘,故造殿裝佛,雖不漏J23nB127_p0343c02因,非見世事。繄渡口灘頭,絕流斷岸,雨夕風辰,黃昏J23nB127_p0343c03午夜,行人天塹,徬徨苦海,所謂人天路上,現前功德,J23nB127_p0343c04惟此特著。矧塔塘橋匪,僻處一隅,鹽邑抵郡,固取道J23nB127_p0343c05而七壤萬靈,率由利涉,陡然缺陷插翅,勿能胥溺是J23nB127_p0343c06懼。此住持道人海澄宏願,遹新弗憚,五體投地,借筏J23nB127_p0343c07彼岸也。我父侯快閣劉公,俠骨慈腸,生秉慧根,性具J23nB127_p0343c08上器,規政罔不嘉惠氓庶,此舉慨俞所請,捐廉為厥J23nB127_p0343c09指南,俾眾生仝脫迷津,悉躋覺路,則又不寧嘉惠余J23nB127_p0343c10鹽,將闔郡諸壤咸利賴焉。余慚襪線能,弗仰崔嵬,以J23nB127_p0343c11足高瞻沆漭而神遠乎?頃歲凶粟踊,朝夕不遑,余亦J23nB127_p0343c12何敢向窶子為不情語語?夫素封家,與其積之不散。J23nB127_p0343c13何如?擲其必朽,造乃無量。昔人竹橋渡蟻,食報鼎甲。J23nB127_p0343c14夫蟻猶異類,善且天知。救我血氣膚髮,更當什伯。雖J23nB127_p0343c15然,即不食報。見險道,化金城,沙界盡攸往,必多懽喜J23nB127_p0343c16趣。然則宰官居士,隨其產力,或出金錢,或輸子粒,共J23nB127_p0343c17作懽喜想,雖寶筏金繩篾以加茲。余不文,為募引緣,J23nB127_p0343c18亦推廣父侯德意,而為大眾勸,併為海澄道人勸,但J23nB127_p0343c19得己心堅似鐵,他心雖鐵也須穿。
送寧波總戎馬冏伯書
J23nB127_p0343c21老親翁榮轉南中督府,方出奠海國,旋入衛邦都,事J23nB127_p0343c22業文章,古今來不少概見。弟辱在最契,雀躍胡可言J23nB127_p0343c23喻,未審何日錦旋。弟當走武林道傍摳迎把晤。茲有J23nB127_p0343c24啟者,弟月之望,于禾干晤天童密雲老和尚,談及老J23nB127_p0343c25親翁崇禮護法,稱誦謂再來人。近因彼處一士夫不J23nB127_p0343c26合,飄然出游,曾無繫戀。今又為海道王老公祖慰留J23nB127_p0343c27肫懇,使命交臨,各邑鄉紳致郵盈案。和尚慈悲忽發,J23nB127_p0344a01歡然就眾請焉。總之,有道之人,去從皆理,喜怒無私。J23nB127_p0344a02弟皈依已久,知莫可效讚嘆。但願台駕將發時,一俯J23nB127_p0344a03臨其地,便足重山靈。至若挽轍之道臺,乞揄揚其休J23nB127_p0344a04美,勸其永作鎮護,更望台晤撫臺,備言和尚之品行J23nB127_p0344a05與化導,委委王法佛法相為表裏,使秉鉞者亦起敬J23nB127_p0344a06心,一二鑠金,遂不得乘而中焉。老親翁之種福,與維J23nB127_p0344a07持調護者而俱深也。弟一腔熱血,不覺言之娓娓。
木老人北遊集中
J23nB127_p0344a11上問:老莊悟處與佛祖為同為別?老人云:佛祖明心見J23nB127_p0344a12性,老莊所說,未免心外有法。古人判他為無因,濫同J23nB127_p0344a13外道。
J23nB127_p0344a14上云:孔孟之學又且何如?老人云:中庸說心性而歸之J23nB127_p0344a15天命,與老莊大段皆同。予因眾議稍窒,致書老人乞J23nB127_p0344a16將「段皆」二字易「不相」二字,便見孔孟與老莊大不相J23nB127_p0344a17同。老人復書不納,箴云:世上皆知孔孟不可及,予一J23nB127_p0344a18人,何苦為他出氣爭箇落處?諄諄尋孔孟落處,那如J23nB127_p0344a19汲汲諦審自己落處?況天地開闢,三教並興,道本一J23nB127_p0344a20致,教立殊途,游夏不能贊一詞,予又何必置一喙?有J23nB127_p0344a21不明處,不妨疑著。有不到處,不妨歇著。種種辯說,種J23nB127_p0344a22種枝節。
J23nB127_p0344a23釣雪鑑曰:「凡人不識自己,所以不識孔孟。不識孔J23nB127_p0344a24孟,所以離枝脫節,并不識佛祖矣。三復覲翁語,使J23nB127_p0344a25人眉舒神豁。」
辛丑年紀事
J23nB127_p0344b02繼和尚之住金粟也,殉一人之見,不謀于眾,不聞于J23nB127_p0344b03鹽奔走當事,為壓服諸護法之計。且繼公曾受托,許J23nB127_p0344b04藏老人《嚴統》版八百餘塊,及攜板至靈巖,悉送杭州J23nB127_p0344b05銷毀,未免老人介意,因授遺稿有二刻,布告十方。但J23nB127_p0344b06此《嚴統》內前四卷、末五卷,皆昌治捐資刻成,以此推J23nB127_p0344b07敲進院遲至六月十五,方孺對張侗老召認刻還我J23nB127_p0344b08板,因于十三十四日,那金購一新做塔樣,小而精巧。J23nB127_p0344b09此時河涸,止可力盪,復捐工費,作料匠人、刻字人、寫J23nB127_p0344b10字人,一齊入山,造成費隱容禪師舍利衣缽之塔,明J23nB127_p0344b11尊舊住持也。車和尚靈骨塔先居東首,此塔居西書J23nB127_p0344b12一扁燈傳處。塔成之日,適堂中末法老僧不喜老人J23nB127_p0344b13建塔,破口背詈。塔成後,此僧經行塔院一跌而死,豈J23nB127_p0344b14非天有威靈乎?七月,造老人像,入祖堂東邊,置一大J23nB127_p0344b15扁。張侗老題贈光前裕後。昌治跋語顏額右曰:老人J23nB127_p0344b16住持金粟十有一祀,兩值歉收,珠桂維艱,缽盂再弄,J23nB127_p0344b17用飽禪和,困而益亨。次逢 鼎革,人心惶惑,左右棘J23nB127_p0344b18荊。老人晝夜綏戢,內外訓諭,漸得平安,危而益定。戊J23nB127_p0344b19子出院,遍請鹽城紳衿善信及大眾,卜請住持百和J23nB127_p0344b20尚于伽藍神前,一聽龍天推出公而益普。後住天童、J23nB127_p0344b21住徑山、住維摩、住福嚴,時刻以金粟為念,身遠而心J23nB127_p0344b22益親。今尸祝祖堂,理固宜然。
J23nB127_p0344b23中一間密老人,東次間費老人,西次間車和尚,三位廚像莊嚴煥發▆治生歡喜心,因援筆而賦二J23nB127_p0344b24聯浼干和尚,大書于柱:父父子子一條白棒接人天中興濟北宗風。J23nB127_p0344b25兄兄弟弟兩道寄眉掀日月式擴越南法象。時千峰息乾示方爾微兩子一孫送J23nB127_p0344b26像歸家。懽敘拈偈。
J23nB127_p0344b27畫艇停橈泊佛門,高臺三座映乾坤,八人賓主襄師事,斗室時披肝膽昆。
J23nB127_p0344c01釣雪鑑曰:「金粟為祖宗法窟,無論創自赤烏之年,J23nB127_p0344c02其來已久,即密老和尚以至于今,燈傳薪接,亦五J23nB127_p0344c03十餘年于茲矣。住持此席者固難,護持此山者更J23nB127_p0344c04難。 覲翁以大公無我之心,扶滹沱單提之令,俾J23nB127_p0344c05危者安、斷者續,自非具大願力、大手眼,曷能始終J23nB127_p0344c06若此?觀辛丑記事之文,具悉其婆心苦衷矣。」
歷敘一生艱苦
J23nB127_p0344c11予大父誥贈資善大夫兵部尚書定溪公,生予父最J23nB127_p0344c12晚。予父亦以仲兄貴贈官如祖,初則蕭然清儉、株守J23nB127_p0344c13士也。舉予時,父年三十有六,母年三十有七,同胞八J23nB127_p0344c14乳,予第六乳也。前兄五間一留一,予與三兄次第相J23nB127_p0344c15接。後又生弟。父母以予適逢間數,昕夕憂危者六年,J23nB127_p0344c16訓讀皆口傳,未嘗寓目。七歲,即隨父館于硤石鎮陳J23nB127_p0344c17嶽雲、鄭吉山家,課而不督。至十二尚未開經,或咎太J23nB127_p0344c18遲,父輒嗚咽對云:「一年未出痘,一年不責以成人事。」J23nB127_p0344c19及十三見痘,父母憂危特甚。時值歲荒歉,無力延醫,J23nB127_p0344c20遇渴則療以黃連,遇瀉則喂以肉果,閤家痘殤十三J23nB127_p0344c21人,而予獨全,皆吾父慈念殷殷,有格上蒼也。十四五J23nB127_p0344c22時,閱文試筆,便曉播弄,隨父館于浦漾黃九皋家,與J23nB127_p0344c23陸葆老總丱會藝,砥礪鼓舞,頗稱相愜。次年,隨二兄J23nB127_p0344c24館于橫山張紹南家,與張睿老朝暮相見,睿老尊太J23nB127_p0344c25孺人極重師傅隆賓客,歲時供饌頗豐。既而試苦府J23nB127_p0344c26關,幸杜父賞識獎借郡侯,得同沈菁老游泮其年跨J23nB127_p0344c27鳳,適遇二兄鄉薦髮妻,許克勤克孝克相。予讀無珥J23nB127_p0345a01可脫,無生可謀,祇以紡織微貲,恪供堂上。及睹二兄J23nB127_p0345a02之褒封,而後知口腹之承雖歡,小孝爾。予意欲成其J23nB127_p0345a03大者,更攻苦罔懈,冀就厥志。己酉,長男乾貞生。壬子,J23nB127_p0345a04不與觀場,退而結網,寒暑弗轍。甲寅,錄科宗師周擊,J23nB127_p0345a05節予文對七邑讚美,不啻舌敝,謂是秋定舉高魁,而J23nB127_p0345a06四入浙闈,俱遭刖足。丁巳,次子拱樞生,時先人分撥J23nB127_p0345a07鄉屋,予為欲依膝下供甘旨,讓祖房于大兄,而卜居J23nB127_p0345a08于城。凡四易市廛,始搆室烏龍潭西住之。辛酉,三兒J23nB127_p0345a09升貞生,襁褓甫三而偶喪,上有兩高年,下有諸藐孤,J23nB127_p0345a10俯仰俱困,睹聞皆慘。萬不得已,續弦大司空康禧屠J23nB127_p0345a11公之孫女,柔順孝敬,視前若出一轍,而寬和愛育,直J23nB127_p0345a12泯然于前後際焉。是年四兒蒙貞生。冬杪,先母黃太J23nB127_p0345a13夫人辭世,值三先兄和州柩歸,連遭二喪,兄弟三人J23nB127_p0345a14煢煢奉垂暮嚴君者十有四年。予一椽雖搆產止數J23nB127_p0345a15百,小試覺利,而大試輒鈍。苫塊餘生,選刻鑑燦芳摹J23nB127_p0345a16書旨者,無意青紫也。庠餼可捨,貢銜可考,而不即安J23nB127_p0345a17府倅,實不願一生窮經,竟登榜外戲場。爾二兄備兵J23nB127_p0345a18漁陽,一病幾殞,庸醫過表致虛柴,蓮老驟補患結,予J23nB127_p0345a19適到二兄執手流涕,口啞不能言。予兩者皆排拜,禱J23nB127_p0345a20于天筮,得七日來復勿藥,有喜。靜伴七日,果愈。代為J23nB127_p0345a21料理軍政糧儲者,浹月皆當。今浙閩總督陳公祖,時J23nB127_p0345a22在道廳,一一文移,商略批發入都,未期輒遇兵困仲J23nB127_p0345a23季。兩兒不候平寧而急返,一甫八齡,一甫十二。予明J23nB127_p0345a24為之喪膽、為之裂究,獲抵家,張用僕承值之功,沈宗J23nB127_p0345a25老提挈之德,不容泯也。邸中楚囚相對者,吳石老、陳J23nB127_p0345a26芳老、錢貞老、楊泰老四人耳。辛未,二兄量移武德監J23nB127_p0345a27軍,入萊拜巡撫, 命予適取道東省方伯、勞金老,目J23nB127_p0345b01擊時艱,涕泣而談。予忘其為書生,而慨焉起澄清天J23nB127_p0345b02下之志,一時知有兄不知有身,知有國不知有家,舉J23nB127_p0345b03向來兵家之積弊,與目前掩敗之覆轍。縷縷指陳歷J23nB127_p0345b04歷証據。南大冢宰謝珍,予疏一字不增減,直達 睿J23nB127_p0345b05聽。濟南道葉憂予危予,髮為白,冠為挂。二兄竟以身J23nB127_p0345b06殉城。予護兄家眷南還,卒得上褒下廕,藉此舉也揭并J23nB127_p0345b07疏附後。每見父愁,日形于面,百般承順終怏怏不樂,心J23nB127_p0345b08口自語:「安得有繼武者?俾冷淡世情。不至當吾身而J23nB127_p0345b09親見。」予聞言鼓奮,即以誦讀當色養,誓不梯榮南國J23nB127_p0345b10不為順親,誓不焚膏。刺史不得回天,負擔走秣陵入J23nB127_p0345b11試。時主內簾者丁蔣兩老師,秉公持正,同坐同閱。予J23nB127_p0345b12房師易六房吳也,得予卷大為踊躍,手不停批,口不J23nB127_p0345b13停讚,呈送兩師。兩師曰:「機沈養到,力厚調古,掄元之J23nB127_p0345b14作。」急中即此便是天相予處,即此便是予得天以挽J23nB127_p0345b15親心處。報捷之夜吾父莞爾笑曰:「癸卯親見二兒浙J23nB127_p0345b16榜標名,癸酉親接四兒南闈報錄,今而後喜可知矣。」J23nB127_p0345b17丙子,因居窄,復式擴于楊橋之北首。菊月,父躋九秩,J23nB127_p0345b18子孫家屬以千計,稱觴階前,陶然樂也。交冬漸減飲J23nB127_p0345b19食,予心憂之,不赴公車。至丁丑仲月五日,坐臥自如,J23nB127_p0345b20忽發暈逾晷,醒而取誥命軸,交冢孫伯园。值伯园侍J23nB127_p0345b21衛京師,呼僮一一展而授之,燕語自若,恬然而逝。予J23nB127_p0345b22與大兄哀毀絕粒,奈人事雜稠,不克雞骨支床,勉為J23nB127_p0345b23哭泣備禮。越二載,安厝大蒲山之巔,遺產四分,各受J23nB127_p0345b24蕩田百畝,遺衣悉賚戚友之不給者。予伏而思曰:賢J23nB127_p0345b25父賢祖,不得忝列俎豆,于心何慊?遂殫心力,叩諸當J23nB127_p0345b26事,凡三詳三勘,論定而後得府縣並祀鄉賢。此庚辰J23nB127_p0345b27三月,正五兒頤貞所生月也。甲申,神京破。六月,嘉興J23nB127_p0345c01破。八月,鹽城亂兵鼓噪,府堂一炬登燼,延燒鄰房。予J23nB127_p0345c02家止隔一衖,天反風,幸而獲免。筮得城外西北吉,即J23nB127_p0345c03出北門。到朱年兄修老家,次日到新行崔寧侯家。念J23nB127_p0345c04三日,凡旅泊于豐山間者大半遇害,予鄉居資釜器J23nB127_p0345c05用舟楫盡失一空。十月還城,食物用物件件購辦,男J23nB127_p0345c06衣女飾一一不周。予嘆曰:「巢破偶存,復認安居。丁散J23nB127_p0345c07偶聚,復珍眷屬。口經食貧,復圖飽腹。真大惑不解之J23nB127_p0345c08人也。」庚寅,憩郊園,適文節教師在梵勝講《楞嚴》,朝往J23nB127_p0345c09暮返,大有會心。覺數十載,全身護持金粟,皆外護,非J23nB127_p0345c10內護,猛然心徹宗乘,身擔佛法,未離世而竊不即世,J23nB127_p0345c11雖居塵而志不染塵。洒洒落落,笑傲園圃,如費老禪J23nB127_p0345c12師、百癡禪師題園韻,予和曰:富貴非吾願,花鳥聊適J23nB127_p0345c13觀。斗居堪容膝,種地不求寬。戴笠幾忘暑,披裘可禦J23nB127_p0345c14寒。高賢時下榻,論古有餘歡。九月,損貲助刻《傳燈嚴J23nB127_p0345c15統》五卷。辛卯竣業,親為之序。復蒙費老人以偈與拂J23nB127_p0345c16親承手授,因念肩任之重,遂將目前居室所有,悉分J23nB127_p0345c17而給諸後人。因著脫家、分家二偈。此身泊然清淡,孑J23nB127_p0345c18焉赤條,所可信者,此中曾不壞,今更自承當。迴視得J23nB127_p0345c19子而教,子長而婚,四成立者,各青其衿,三拔貢,五肄J23nB127_p0345c20業太學,頗知自勵。乾貞,娶州守朱葵老女,孝廉如日J23nB127_p0345c21姊也。舉孫一秉節,豐山罵賊烈死,不啻奇男子。續配J23nB127_p0345c22許庶,生孫一拱樞,娶北兵副郎胡孝老女,舉孫一升J23nB127_p0345c23貞,娶陳子老女,孝廉子木公繼女也。舉孫二,許出蒙J23nB127_p0345c24貞,娶孝廉朱迦老女。側出孫一,屠出頤貞,聘癸未進士J23nB127_p0345c25許元老女庶生。孫一李出,五姻之費,固已不貲,一生課J23nB127_p0345c26讀,婚嫁居住。財用之累猶可言,心情之累不可言,處J23nB127_p0345c27順境而支撐猶易,際逆境而湊泊更難。予苦也哉!有J23nB127_p0346a01此身之為苦;今樂也哉!無此家之為樂。前後若殊,觀J23nB127_p0346a02身世總一視。天勞我,我奉之;天成我,我凝之。過此以J23nB127_p0346a03在,未之或知。
附疏稿
J23nB127_p0346a11南京吏部尚書臣謝陞等,謹J23nB127_p0346a12題為東事敗壞已極,有聞不敢不J23nB127_p0346a13告,伏乞J23nB127_p0346a14聖明,速賜J23nB127_p0346a15乾斷,以救咽喉重地事。臣等接得山東巡撫徐從治J23nB127_p0346a16胞弟徐昌治揭帖,為奸弁賣J23nB127_p0346a17國,督師欺J23nB127_p0346a18君,萊危已極,拼命直陳事。據毛經魁、賀允道云:係胞J23nB127_p0346a19兄從治同登萊巡撫謝璉、萊州差出,眼見督師J23nB127_p0346a20劉宇烈屢次捷報,皆屬欺誑。萊必破滅,敢冒死J23nB127_p0346a21陳之。胞兄從治,初奉監軍J23nB127_p0346a22命,于正月二十五日入萊城。二十九日奉巡撫J23nB127_p0346a23命,于二月初一日在彼到任。適湊總兵王洪早懷異J23nB127_p0346a24心,與總兵楊御蕃尋釁生非,扎營窵遠御蕃血J23nB127_p0346a25戰,洪竟坐視不救,以致營兵四五千人,一鬨奔J23nB127_p0346a26逃。楊總兵止帶回家丁二百,闖進萊城,即遭圍J23nB127_p0346a27困。賊架雲梯抬板門儘力攻打,城上亦儘力防。
