宋文憲公護法錄序
J21nB110_p0597a02謙益恭讀J21nB110_p0597a03高皇帝御製文集,稽首颺言曰:「天命我J21nB110_p0597a04祖,統合三教。」大哉!蔑以加矣。已讀故翰林學士承旨J21nB110_p0597a05文憲宋公集,則又嘆曰:「嗟乎!夫憲章J21nB110_p0597a06聖祖者,舍文憲何適矣?」J21nB110_p0597a07聖祖稱佛氏之教,幽贊王綱,開國以來,凡所以裁成J21nB110_p0597a08輔相,設教佑神,靡不原本一大事因緣。而文憲J21nB110_p0597a09則見而知之,為能識其大者,廣薦之記,《楞伽》、《金J21nB110_p0597a10剛》之敘,通幽明,顯權實,太聖人之作用存焉。傅J21nB110_p0597a11有之金鐸振武、木鐸振文,文憲其J21nB110_p0597a12高皇帝之木鐸與?由文憲以闚J21nB110_p0597a13聖祖之文,其猶《易》之有翼、《春秋》之有傳也。與聖人之J21nB110_p0597a14言天也,筭以周髀、測以土圭,而天體見焉。于以J21nB110_p0597a15憲章J21nB110_p0597a16聖祖,蓋思過半矣。
J21nB110_p0597a17聖祖現身皇覺,乘願輪以御天,又憲應運而起,典司J21nB110_p0597a18禁林,輔皇猷而宣佛教。前代以翰林學士為內J21nB110_p0597a19相,J21nB110_p0597a20高皇帝不置相,文憲有相道焉?雲從龍,風從虎,聖人J21nB110_p0597a21作而萬物睹,文憲以大儒應聘君臣之際,史官J21nB110_p0597a22頌之至今,抑豈知其夙受付囑,開華嚴法界于J21nB110_p0597a23閻浮提?其為雲龍、風虎,又有大焉者乎?姚恭靖J21nB110_p0597a24之于J21nB110_p0597a25成祖,閟現稍異,要皆後天奉時,佐J21nB110_p0597a26二祖以章明佛乘,日月未改,聖謨洋洋,而儒生掩耳,J21nB110_p0597a27如塵沙劫事,豈不誖哉?或謂文憲故服習程朱,J21nB110_p0597a28程朱辭闢佛氏,凜干戎索,何可越也。於戲!J21nB110_p0597a29聖祖不云乎:「天下無二道,聖人無兩心」,夫道譬之則J21nB110_p0597a30日也,J21nB110_p0597b01聖祖出而日中天矣。程朱見日于牖隙,文憲見日于J21nB110_p0597b02扶桑,其廣狹至不同量也。生盛明之世,而墨守J21nB110_p0597b03程朱,終不能仰青天而睹白日。悲夫!文憲集無J21nB110_p0597b04慮數十本,余搜次其關于佛事者,合諸雲栖所J21nB110_p0597b05輯,校定付梓而僭為之敘,以諗于世之憲章者,J21nB110_p0597b06文憲三閱大藏,入海算沙,有如指掌,在儒門中J21nB110_p0597b07當為多聞總持。至其悟因證地著見,于文字中J21nB110_p0597b08必有能勘辨之者,固非學人所可得而評騭者J21nB110_p0597b09也。

J21nB110_p0600a07至正十七年化,即龍鳳三年。
J21nB110_p0600a08大天界寺住持孚中禪師信公示寂之十四年,其弟J21nB110_p0600a09子似桂,謁濂于禁林,合掌胡跪而為言曰:「先師之塔J21nB110_p0600a10在金陵牛首山者,則真骨與設利之所藏。其別分爪J21nB110_p0600a11髮衣履而瘞之,則四明之太白山也。太白之銘,佛真J21nB110_p0600a12文懿大師、國清噩公實為之;而牛首乃師之全塔,反J21nB110_p0600a13有石而無詞,不幾於甚闕典歟?居士深究內典,為吾J21nB110_p0600a14徒之所信向,海內尊宿多濬發其幽光,豈宜於先師J21nB110_p0600a15獨漠然忘情乎?庸敢援例以請。」濂來江表,聞稱師之J21nB110_p0600a16德者,人人不能殊,則師誠有道之士也。文辭固無益J21nB110_p0600a17於道,後之人欲求其行業,則將何所徵之哉?因不敢J21nB110_p0600a18讓,而謹書之。
師名懷信,字孚中,俗姓姜氏,明之奉化J21nB110_p0600a19人。父某,嘗為某縣校官。母劉氏,夜夢大星墮室中,有J21nB110_p0600a20光如火,亟取而吞之,覺即有孕。及誕,狀貌異凡子,性J21nB110_p0600a21凝莊,不妄舉動,唯見沙門至其家,必躍而親之。稍長,J21nB110_p0600a22受三經於宋進士戴公表元,經旨悉暢達,然非其好J21nB110_p0600a23也。年十五離家,從法華院僧子思,執童子之役,已而J21nB110_p0600a24祝髮為大僧,受具戒於五臺寺。聞延慶半巖全公弘J21nB110_p0600a25三觀十乘之旨,復與之游。久之,且歎曰:「教相繁多,浩J21nB110_p0600a26如煙海,苟欲窮之,是誠筭沙,徒自困耳。」即棄去,渡浙J21nB110_p0600a27河而西。凡遇名叢林,輒往參扣,下語多枘鑿弗合,不J21nB110_p0600a28勝憤悱。華藏竺西坦公,遷主明之天童景德禪寺,師J21nB110_p0600a29隨質所疑,竺西一見知為法器,厲色待之,不與交一J21nB110_p0600a30語,師群疑愈熾。一日,上堂,舉興化打克賓公案問師,J21nB110_p0600b01師擬曰:「俊哉!師子兒也!」師自是依止不忍去,就維那J21nB110_p0600b02之職。竺西入滅,天寧雲外岫公來繼其席,命師司經J21nB110_p0600b03藏管鑰,文采漸致彰露,不可掩遏。泰定丙寅,行宣政J21nB110_p0600b04院請師出世明之觀音。師策勵徒眾,視分陰若尺壁,J21nB110_p0600b05唯恐其失之。天曆己巳,遷住補怛洛迦山,師不以位J21nB110_p0600b06望之崇,效它浮屠飭車輿、盛徒御以誇衒於人,自持J21nB110_p0600b07一缽,丐食吳楚間。鎮南王具香華迎至府中,虛心問J21nB110_p0600b08道,語中肯綮,且出菩提達摩像求贊,師運筆無停思,J21nB110_p0600b09辭旨淵邃,王甚嘆服。宣讓王亦遣使者,奉旃檀香、紫J21nB110_p0600b10伽黎衣請示法要,師隨其性資而導之。二賢王雄藩J21nB110_p0600b11之望,首加崇禮,諸侯庶民無不望風瞻敬,施資填委。J21nB110_p0600b12姑蘇產奇石,師遂購善工,造多寶佛塔十三層,載歸J21nB110_p0600b13海東,俾信心者禮焉。駙馬都尉高麗王繹,而吉尼丞J21nB110_p0600b14相撒敦以師行上聞,詔賜廣慧玅悟智寶弘教禪師J21nB110_p0600b15之號,及金襴法衣一襲。至正壬午,升住中天竺山天J21nB110_p0600b16曆永祚寺。乙酉遷天童,不半載間百廢具舉,佛殿之J21nB110_p0600b17役最鉅,亦撤弊而更新之,丹輝碧明,照耀海濱。師建J21nB110_p0600b18塔中峰之祖庭,慨然有終焉之志。己丑冬十月,江表J21nB110_p0600b19大龍翔集慶寺虛席,行御史臺奉疏迎師主之。龍翔J21nB110_p0600b20文宗潛邸,及至踐祚,建佛剎於其地,棟宇之麗甲天J21nB110_p0600b21下。其秉住持事者,若笑隱訢公、曇芳忠公皆名德之J21nB110_p0600b22士,舉行百丈清規為東南之楷則。居亡何毀于火,忠J21nB110_p0600b23公新之,惟海會堂未就而化。僉謂繼忠公之躅,非師J21nB110_p0600b24無以厭眾心。往反者三,師始赴之。暨升座,提唱宗乘,J21nB110_p0600b25萬耳聳聽,委蛇不迫而玄機自融,無小無大,皆驩然J21nB110_p0600b26親戴之。或謂龍翔初政,稍示威嚴以懲驕慢之習,師J21nB110_p0600b27笑而不答。師度眾,誠感孚,乃出衣盂之私補前未建J21nB110_p0600b28之堂,不日而集會。元政大亂,戎馬紛紜,寺事日見艱J21nB110_p0600b29窘,師處之裕如,一不以屑意。一旦晨興,索蘭湯沐浴J21nB110_p0600b30更衣,趺坐,謂左右曰:「吾將歸矣,汝等當以荷法自期,J21nB110_p0600c01勵精進行可也。」言畢而瞑,侍者撼且呼曰:「和尚去則J21nB110_p0600c02去矣,寧不留片言以示人乎?」師復瞋目叱之,侍者呼J21nB110_p0600c03不已,師握筆書曰:「平生為人戾契,七十八年漏洩。今J21nB110_p0600c04朝撒手便行,萬里晴空片雪。」書畢復瞑。時丁酉秋八J21nB110_p0600c05月二十四日也,壽七十八,臘六十九。停龕七日,顏面J21nB110_p0600c06如生。作禮者旁午而名薌,蠟炬積如丘陵。九月一日,J21nB110_p0600c07荼毘於聚寶山前,舍利如菽、如麻,五色燦爛,雖煙所J21nB110_p0600c08及處亦累累然生,貯以寶瓶,光發瓶外。其上足弟子J21nB110_p0600c09某,以某月日坎牛首山東麓為宮,藏之,復建塔於其J21nB110_p0600c10上。師賦性恬沖,喜氣溢顏間,生平未嘗以聲色忤人,J21nB110_p0600c11人有犯之者,頷首而已。然進修極勤,自壯至耄,默誦J21nB110_p0600c12《法華經》一部,雖暑爍金、寒折膠,無一日闕者,屢感蓮J21nB110_p0600c13花香,滿院芬郁異常,非世間者可比當。 大明兵下,J21nB110_p0600c14金陵僧徒俱風雨散去,師獨結跏晏坐,目不四顧,執J21nB110_p0600c15兵者滿前,無不擲杖而拜。 上嘗親幸寺中,聽師說J21nB110_p0600c16法,嘉師言行純愨,特為改龍翔為大天界寺。寺之逋J21nB110_p0600c17糧在民間者,遣官為徵之。師之將告終前一日, 上J21nB110_p0600c18統兵駐江陰沙州。 上當晝而寢,夢師服褐色禪袍J21nB110_p0600c19來見。 上問曰:「師胡為乎來也?」對曰:「將西歸,故告別J21nB110_p0600c20耳。」 上還,聞師遷化,依與夢中正同,大悅, 詔出內J21nB110_p0600c21府帛幣,助其喪事,且命堪輿家賀齊叔為卜金藏。舉J21nB110_p0600c22龕之夕, 上親致奠,送出都門之外,其寵榮之加,近J21nB110_p0600c23代無與同者。師有《五會語錄》行于世,其傳法上首則J21nB110_p0600c24雙林致凱、江心慧恩、大慈寶定、某剎寶璋、瑞岩文淵、J21nB110_p0600c25保福宗秩、翠山志理、淨土永顯、玅智淨琚、定光文摭、J21nB110_p0600c26某剎明晟、天華士謙、豐安至慶、聖泉普彝、福林道巽、J21nB110_p0600c27五峰普錫、石門永泰、霞嶼元良、廣祜永瑰,皆其人也。J21nB110_p0600c28惟昔天童坦公以一真之學,上承松源四葉之傳,黑J21nB110_p0600c29白趨慕,儼如毛之有麟、甲之有龜也。師亦以真承之,J21nB110_p0600c30故能樹精進幡,持金剛劍,入般若關,巋然為一代人J21nB110_p0601a01天之師。此無他,真則不妄,不妄則近佛之道矣。宜乎J21nB110_p0601a02遭逢維新之朝,上簡 帝心,昭被殊渥,至親枉乘輿J21nB110_p0601a03而臨幸之。龍光赫奕,絢耀吐吞,至今山川尚有餘輝。J21nB110_p0601a04是當揭之崇碑,明示方來,使學佛者有所歆豔,而起J21nB110_p0601a05信焉。系之以銘曰:

J21nB110_p0601a24浮圖之為禪學者,自隋唐以來,初無定止,惟借律院J21nB110_p0601a25以居百丈大智禪師方建叢林規矩。至宋而樓觀方盛,然猶不分等J21nB110_p0601a26第,惟推在京鉅剎為之首。南渡後,始定江南為五山J21nB110_p0601a27十剎,俾其拾級而升,黃梅、曹溪諸道場反不與其間,J21nB110_p0601a28則其去古也益遠矣。元氏有國,文宗潛邸在金陵,及J21nB110_p0601a29至臨 御,詔建大龍翔集慶寺,獨冠五山,蓋矯其弊J21nB110_p0601a30也。 國朝因乏錫,以新額就寺建官,摠轄天下僧尼。J21nB110_p0601b01當是時,覺原禪師實奉 詔蒞其職。夫當興王之運,J21nB110_p0601b02親受 聖皇付囑,以統釋教之事,誠優缽曇華千年J21nB110_p0601b03一現者也。其順寂也,惡可不勒群行以詒後世乎?師J21nB110_p0601b04諱慧曇,覺原其字也,姓楊氏,天台人。父某,母賈氏,夢J21nB110_p0601b05明月自天而墮,取而吞之,遂有娠夢吞明珠有娠。及生,容貌J21nB110_p0601b06嶷如,長不與群童狎,每入塔廟,輒對法王瞻禮。父母J21nB110_p0601b07察其有方外緣,俾依越之法果寺比丘某法果寺苾芻大均。J21nB110_p0601b08年十六,為大僧,受具戒已而學律于明慶杲公,習教J21nB110_p0601b09于高麗教公聽止觀于上竺澄公。真積力久,忽拊髀嘆曰:「毘尼J21nB110_p0601b10之嚴,科文之繁,固吾佛祖方便示人,若欲截斷眾流,J21nB110_p0601b11一超直入,非禪波羅蜜曷能致之?」時廣智禪師笑隱J21nB110_p0601b12訢公敷揚大法于中天竺,海內仰之,如景星鳳凰,師J21nB110_p0601b13往造焉,備陳求道之切,廣智斥曰:「從外入者,即非家J21nB110_p0601b14珍。道在自己,奚向人求耶?」師退凝神,獨坐一室,久之,J21nB110_p0601b15未有所入。廣智一日舉百丈野狐語,師大悟曰:「佛法J21nB110_p0601b16落我手矣,只為分明極,翻成所得遲。」廣智曰:「爾見何J21nB110_p0601b17道理?敢爾大言耶?」師展雙手曰:「不直一文錢。」廣智頷J21nB110_p0601b18之,乃命侍香師造廣智,智問曰:「何處來?」師對曰:「游山來。」智曰:「笠于下拶破洛浦,遍參底作麼J21nB110_p0601b19生?」師曰:「未入門時呈似了也。」智曰:「即今因甚不拈出?」師擬議,智便喝,師當下脫然有省。他日,智展兩手示J21nB110_p0601b20師曰:「八字打開了也,因甚不肯承當?」師曰:「休來鈍置。」智曰:「近前來,為汝說。」師即掩耳而出,智頷之。天J21nB110_p0601b21曆二年己巳,龍翔新刱,文宗命廣智為開山住持,師J21nB110_p0601b22實從之,為掌藏鑰師隨至,掌藏鑰,繼分座,相與激揚祖佛機緣,裨贊法門綱紀,識見出J21nB110_p0601b23群,聲譽彰著。明年庚午,廣智如燕都,見文宗于奎章閣,同J21nB110_p0601b24行者皆股栗不能前,師獨神氣恬然,廣智嘆曰:「真吾J21nB110_p0601b25家師子兒也!」及歸,適寺新鑄銅鐘成,廣智曰:「吾聞非J21nB110_p0601b26福慧雙全者,莫先鳴鐘。」即令師擊之。至順二年辛未,J21nB110_p0601b27奉行臺檄出世牛頭山之祖堂寺,師畚剔穢荒,為之J21nB110_p0601b28起廢,使殿閣一新,且改其號為祖山寺。至正三年癸J21nB110_p0601b29未,遷住清涼廣慧禪寺,師撙節諸用,其起廢一如牛J21nB110_p0601b30頭,帝師嘉之,授以淨覺玅辯禪師之號。十五年乙未,J21nB110_p0601c01復遷保寧禪寺。十六年丙申,王師定建業。師謁 皇J21nB110_p0601c02上于轅門, 上見師氣貌異常,歎曰:「此福德僧也。」命J21nB110_p0601c03主蔣山太平興國禪寺。時當儉歲,師化食以給其眾,J21nB110_p0601c04無闕乏者。山下田人多欲隸軍籍,師懼寺田之蕪廢J21nB110_p0601c05也,請于 上而歸之。山之林木為樵者所剪伐,師又J21nB110_p0601c06陳奏, 上封一劍授師曰:「敢有伐木者斬。」至今蓋鬱J21nB110_p0601c07然云。踰年丁酉,賜改龍翔為大天界寺, 詔師主之,J21nB110_p0601c08每設廣薦法會,師必升座,舉宣秘法要, 車駕親帥,J21nB110_p0601c09群臣幸臨,恩數優洽吳元年丁未,太內新成將登寶位, 詔師引千二百眾披閱大J21nB110_p0601c10藏真經,用嚴清淨覺地。師升師子座,舉揚大法, 上親帥群臣幸臨瞻聽,師法音洪暢玅契, 皇情為之J21nB110_p0601c11大悅,出內帑帛三十匹以施。自是每設廣薦法會,師必升座說法, 車駕幸臨,恩數優洽。遠邇學J21nB110_p0601c12徒聞風,奔赴堂筵,至無所容凡祖庭規矩,師備行之,濟濟繩繩,粲然攸敘。觀J21nB110_p0601c13者唶唶曰:「三代禮樂,無以加焉。」。先是僧堂寮庫,有司權以貯戎器,久J21nB110_p0601c14而不歸。 上見焉,亟命相國李韓公出之,且 親御J21nB110_p0601c15翰墨書「天下第一禪林」六大字,懸于三門。洪武元年J21nB110_p0601c16戊申春三月開善世院,特視從二品特授師演梵善J21nB110_p0601c17世利國崇教大禪師,住持大天界寺,統諸山釋教事,J21nB110_p0601c18頒降 誥命,俾服紫詔師領院事,服紫衣及金襴方袍,御製誥命,其略曰:「自予肇業,J21nB110_p0601c19命爾匡宗,德風振起于法門,景運贊襄于家國,特授演梵善世利國崇教大禪師,住持大天界禪寺,統諸J21nB110_p0601c20山釋教事。」當是時,遴選有序,銓衡至公,宗社有志之流、山林抱道之士聯鑣而迭出,咸居名山大剎焉,自J21nB110_p0601c21古崇尚法門于斯為盛。章縫之士,以釋氏為世蠹,請滅除之。J21nB110_p0601c22上以其章示師,師曰:「孔子以佛為西方聖人,以此知J21nB110_p0601c23真儒必不非釋,非釋必非真儒矣。」 上亦以佛之教J21nB110_p0601c24陰翊王度卻不聽。 上聞寺僧多行非法,命師嚴馭J21nB110_p0601c25之,師但誘以善言。諸郡沙門汙染習俗,實悖教範,或J21nB110_p0601c26勸當痛治,師曰:「諺有云:『大林有不材之木,能盡去乎?J21nB110_p0601c27祗益釋門之累耳。事呈露者,勿恕可也。』」二年乙酉冬,J21nB110_p0601c28中風得瘖疾,遂罷院事。三年庚戌春三月,病良已燕處J21nB110_p0601c29東軒,誘接來學,匡弘祖道,孜孜無少懈。夏六月,奉使西域廷議西域未臣伏, 天子威德,其國王喜甚,館于佛山寺佛山精舍,待以J21nB110_p0602a03師禮寅夜參承,令闔國臣民悉得瞻禮,師隨機開導,咸蒙法益。九月庚午,示微疾,J21nB110_p0602a04食飲弗進。甲戌,見王有欲歸之意,王令名僧咸來相J21nB110_p0602a05慰王命醫進藥餌,師從容謝卻之。王與群臣惶惶惕惕,若失所恃。乙亥,沐浴更衣,呼J21nB110_p0602a06左右謂曰:「予不能復命矣。」亟命尚書至,謂曰:「某幻緣終此,不能復命矣。」。跏J21nB110_p0602a07趺端坐,夜參半問云:「日將出否?」曰:「未也。」已而復問,至J21nB110_p0602a08于四三曰:「日出矣。」怡然而逝。其日蓋丙子,云壽若干,J21nB110_p0602a09臘若于世壽六十有八,僧臘五十有三。踰五日留七日,顏貌如生,王大J21nB110_p0602a10敬嘆,斲香為棺,聚香代薪,築壇而荼毘之。王與百僚J21nB110_p0602a11送至壇下,命比丘千餘旋繞,誦諸陀羅尼咒,至火滅J21nB110_p0602a12方已。拾靈骨,祔葬其國舍利塔中時有白煙一道,上燭于天,薪盡火滅,J21nB110_p0602a13舍利無筭,舌根齒牙不壞,迺收舍利靈骨及不壞者,祔葬其國辟支佛塔。先是彼佛曾亦懸記,今之開祔,J21nB110_p0602a14適符其言,非偶然也。七年甲寅秋九月丙寅,同門友天界住持J21nB110_p0602a15宗泐,奉遺衣藏于南京聚寶山雨花臺之側云甲寅冬,尚J21nB110_p0602a16書趙某還朝,奏陳其事。皇上聞而嗟悼,敕天界、蔣山二寺住持宗泐等以師之遺衣藏于雨化臺之左云。J21nB110_p0602a17師廣顙豐頤,平頂大耳,面作紅玉色,耳白如珂雪,目J21nB110_p0602a18光爛爛射人,學者見之,不威而懾,及即之也,盎然而J21nB110_p0602a19春溫。其遇禪徒,隨機而應,未嘗務為奇巧,聞者自然J21nB110_p0602a20有所悟入嘗示眾曰:「春風浩浩,春日遲遲,黃鸚啼在百花枝,箇中無限意,消息許誰知?」語未既,J21nB110_p0602a21遽有僧問曰:「心意識遏捺不住時如何?」師厲聲曰:「是誰遏捺?」師室中謂僧曰:「二六時無你啗啄分、無你趣J21nB110_p0602a22向分,會麼?」僧罔措,師曰:「未明三八九,難免自沉吟。」師五會說法,門人輯錄成書,欲傳後學,師則毅然斥去J21nB110_p0602a23之。遭際昌辰,寵賚便蕃凡位居臣列,被召必以名,惟師誥敕,咸以大禪師為稱,前J21nB110_p0602a24所未有也。雖位隆望重,恒處之若寒素,無毫髮自矜意。為J21nB110_p0602a25人寡言笑,喜怒任真,不能以貴賤異其顏色。當勾稽J21nB110_p0602a26簿書,至不能辨真贗,卒為下人所欺,亦弗卹也。然而J21nB110_p0602a27毘翊宗教無一息敢忘,廣廈細旃之間從容召對,據J21nB110_p0602a28經持論,每罄竭其蘊,蓄松園之復,釋道私祖之免,皆J21nB110_p0602a29師之所請也。師平生不輕度弟子,其嗣法上首蔣山J21nB110_p0602a30法印、國清導升、天寧純一、道場願證、中竺淨戒天界行椿、J21nB110_p0602b01育王常在皆有聞叢林間。願證應緣入仕,為應奉翰林文J21nB110_p0602b02字翰林李證親預入室,大懼師行泯沒,件繫成書,授之淨戒,以J21nB110_p0602b03戒尚風義,死生不易其操,必能昭廓其幽潛,今證已J21nB110_p0602b04亡矣。戒果能謁濂,求為塔上之銘。濂嘗與師游,而與J21nB110_p0602b05願、戒交尤洽,不得以不敏辭。濂聞之龍翔禪林實甲J21nB110_p0602b06天下,刱建之初非名德之重,莫能主之,是故廣智握J21nB110_p0602b07真如印,柄道明宗,常使輝光照燭于幽隱矣。及今六J21nB110_p0602b08合載清,真人撫運,崇尚佛乘,賜額建官,以統馭其眾,J21nB110_p0602b09非得法于廣智者,亦孰能當其始乎?嗚呼!何其規重J21nB110_p0602b10矩疊,而一倡一新也。在昔馬駒蹴踏,機用森嚴,出其J21nB110_p0602b11門者,無非龍象。有是學者,固有是師,先德固亦然矣。J21nB110_p0602b12由是方之,廣智之傳,實由正宗,師之所契,親得其髓,J21nB110_p0602b13固非常情之可擬議。然稱人之善,必本具父師,厚之J21nB110_p0602b14至也。濂敢竊取茲義,序其事而為之銘。銘曰:
J21nB110_p0602b15雲棲刻本與翰苑續集稍異,因附註之。按洪武實J21nB110_p0602c04錄,庚戌夏六月癸亥,命僧克新等三人往西域招J21nB110_p0602c05諭吐番,仍命圖其所過山川地形以歸,蓋即曇公J21nB110_p0602c06奉使事也。實錄與大政記俱不載趙尚書為副之J21nB110_p0602c07事,洪武中列卿亦無所謂趙尚書者,恐即是年三J21nB110_p0602c08月趙秩奉使之訛也。集稱省合剌國,即榜葛剌西J21nB110_p0602c09印度國,為釋迦得道之所。而雲棲本稱僧伽羅國,J21nB110_p0602c10遍攷未聞也,似當以翰苑續集為正志之,以俟再J21nB110_p0602c11考。洪武實錄,二十一年二月,重建天界善世禪寺J21nB110_p0602c12于城南。初元文宗天曆元年,始建大龍翔集慶寺,J21nB110_p0602c13在今都城之龍河。洪武元年春,即本寺開設善世J21nB110_p0602c14院,以僧慧曇領教事,改賜額曰大天界寺, 御書J21nB110_p0602c15「天下第一禪林」榜於外門。四年,改曰天下善世禪J21nB110_p0602c16寺。五年,又改為善世法門。十四年,革善世院。十五J21nB110_p0602c17年,設僧錄司于內。至是燬于火, 上命徙于京城J21nB110_p0602c18南定林寺故址,仍舊額曰天界善世禪寺。

J21nB110_p0602c20李願證,字大猷,姑熟人。父深肥,遯山林,以書詩為教,J21nB110_p0602c21自號靜軒。母陶氏無嗣,晝夜禱於觀自在佛,夜夢一J21nB110_p0602c22比丘尼乘白鹿車,抱嬰兒授之,曰:「此福慧兒也,善視J21nB110_p0602c23之。」既而有娠。生未逾月,兒忽身熱如火,不進乳,陶方J21nB110_p0602c24以為憂,復夢前比丘尼持栗數顆嚼食之,夢覺,兒汗J21nB110_p0602c25如雨,遂瘳。年四歲,嬉戲父膝下,因授以《記姓書》,兒曰:J21nB110_p0602c26「此有何義?讀之將奚為?」父大驚,更以《孝經》,一誦即能J21nB110_p0602c27闇記。稍長,益駿發異常。父嘗手書《首楞嚴》、《圓覺》二經,J21nB110_p0602c28逐卷取讀之,力白父母學佛,於城南頓覺蘭若祝髮,J21nB110_p0602c29受具戒制,今名願證。走大石山中,與僧法秀游。秀有J21nB110_p0602c30高行,願證期取法焉。久之,杖錫來南京,謁淨覺師於J21nB110_p0603a01天界禪林,師見其俊邁,命為侍者,謂之曰:「子才銳甚,J21nB110_p0603a02宜留意文學,他日期子弘宗扶教也。」於是獨坐一室,J21nB110_p0603a03竺墳魯典無不研窮之,著為文辭,森然有奇氣,一時J21nB110_p0603a04名公鉅卿皆愛敬之,與其相倡酬,師尋命掌書記。洪J21nB110_p0603a05武戊申,出世嘉興水西寺。庚戌,遷吳興之道場。未幾,J21nB110_p0603a06退居武康山中,著《觀幻子》內外篇,以合儒釋一貫之J21nB110_p0603a07玅。其內篇曰:「釋教其目,十則宗本,教述會源,非即必J21nB110_p0603a08悟示證,最志古今不昧寂動也。」外篇曰:「循本其目,如J21nB110_p0603a09釋教之數,則性上、性中、性下人物道述克己,至樂言J21nB110_p0603a10命,為己學方也。曰適治其目,如循本之數,則禮樂、封J21nB110_p0603a11建、井田、兵問、用刑、尚德,儒吏經權三,尚圓象也。曰史J21nB110_p0603a12論,其目如適治之數而逾其二,則宋襄儀秦,秦漢文J21nB110_p0603a13武儒老,魏、吳、漢、晉虛玄,梁上、梁下、隋、唐、後周也,皆踔J21nB110_p0603a14厲前人,其光燁燁不可襲,秘聲名突,起縉紳間。」癸丑J21nB110_p0603a15之冬,願證還天界。濂時侍 皇上升武樓,遙望禪林,J21nB110_p0603a16顧濂曰:「其中有良僧乎?」濂對曰:「近有二僧,從吳越中J21nB110_p0603a17來,皆能文辭。」 上曰:「其名謂何?」濂對曰:「一則願證,一J21nB110_p0603a18則證傳。」 上曰:「試取觀之。」濂因進證傳文一編, 上J21nB110_p0603a19親覽終卷,曰:「是或儒者之所不及。」復問:「願證所著?」濂J21nB110_p0603a20對曰:「太常丞張丁家有往復論性書。」遂遺中官召丁J21nB110_p0603a21攜書至, 上復覽如前,喜曰:「論議甚高,其鐵中錚錚J21nB110_p0603a22者乎?」明日, 召見謹身殿,慰勞備至, 敕吏部皆除J21nB110_p0603a23應奉翰林文字,賜第太平門及妻妾各二,凡日用百J21nB110_p0603a24需之物無不周復,命中秘給書籍,令閉門習讀,三月J21nB110_p0603a25俟髮長勝冠,然後蒞職。後三月,願證有疾, 上意其J21nB110_p0603a26沉鬱多痰,賜藥吐之,疾稍減,已而復劇。中使問疾者J21nB110_p0603a27絡繹于道,竟不起。病將革時,唯仰首言曰:「死則死,所J21nB110_p0603a28可憾者,受 上之深恩,不能報爾。」遂口授其友草謝J21nB110_p0603a29表,表未終而逝。 上夜夢願證來謝,服大布寬衣,巾J21nB110_p0603a30稍欹。叩其家人,服色正同,因移棺撼巾不正, 上尤J21nB110_p0603b01嗟異焉。時洪武甲寅春二月也,壽三十七云。史官曰:J21nB110_p0603b02昔在宋時,仲靈嵩師鐔津李氏子也。每夜戴觀自在J21nB110_p0603b03像,誦其號十萬乃寢。自是世間章句不學而能,遂作J21nB110_p0603b04《原教論》,明儒釋一貫,以抗諸儒之說。韓魏公琦、歐陽J21nB110_p0603b05公修,皆尊禮之。今願證亦李氏子,其母亦累禱觀音J21nB110_p0603b06而生,亦博極群書,亦著為論說以明儒釋之道,亦異J21nB110_p0603b07天哉!豈弘宗扶教代當有其人歟?濂固不敢謂願證J21nB110_p0603b08之如仲靈也,其志之所存,抑果有不同者歟!然仲靈J21nB110_p0603b09進正宗記,僅得仁宗賜紫方袍及明教之號,願證則J21nB110_p0603b10屢被龍光親拔為王官。使其得壽,則道行于時,澤兼J21nB110_p0603b11被于烝黎,不特如仲靈專輔本教而已。木方榮而風J21nB110_p0603b12折之,悲夫!濂與願證交,愛才之念不下於韓、歐二公,J21nB110_p0603b13弗忍其名不傳也,故徇全室泐公之請,具著其事於J21nB110_p0603b14篇。
J21nB110_p0603b15高皇帝御製跋儒僧文云:「侍講學士宋濂言:『及有J21nB110_p0603b16僧名傳者,儒釋俱長,邇來以文求臣改益,臣試開J21nB110_p0603b17展過目,篇篇有意,文奇句壯,奚啻干專門之學?臣J21nB110_p0603b18是以敢煩聖聽。』誦之再三,果如濂言。然僧所以求J21nB110_p0603b19改益者,非也。朕知僧之意,有所精學,卒無揚名之J21nB110_p0603b20處,故特求名儒以改益之,由此而揚名,欲出為我J21nB110_p0603b21用。濂曰:『恐無此乎?』朕謂濂曰:『云何如是觀人?古賢J21nB110_p0603b22人君子,託身隱居,非止一端,未必執于本業,而不J21nB110_p0603b23為君用。朕觀此僧之文,文華燦爛,若有光之照耀,J21nB110_p0603b24無玄虛弄假之訛。語句真誠貼體孔門之學,安得J21nB110_p0603b25不為用哉?』」洪武八年實錄亦同。按傳即郭傳,字文J21nB110_p0603b26遠,會稽人,與願證同召,後陞脩起居注,遷考功監J21nB110_p0603b27令。 高皇帝號咷求賢,不遺于禪衲,正欲其居官J21nB110_p0603b28食祿,輔君澤民,闡揚如來博修之道,非欲以儒易J21nB110_p0603b29釋,以利祿破苦空也。願證輩俱未竟厥施,而姚恭J21nB110_p0603b30靖卒以比丘現身, 高皇帝之作人,遠矣哉!至宗J21nB110_p0603c01泐辭官,則又反覆讚嘆,權實雙顯,非大聖人不能J21nB110_p0603c02與于斯也。

J21nB110_p0603c05皇帝端居穆清,念四海兵爭將卒,民庶多歿於非命,J21nB110_p0603c06精爽無依,非佛世尊不足以度之。惟洪武元年秋九J21nB110_p0603c07月, 詔江南大浮屠十餘人,於蔣山禪寺作大法會。J21nB110_p0603c08時楚石禪師實與其列,師升座說法,以聳人天龍鬼J21nB110_p0603c09之聽。竣事,近臣入奏, 上大悅。二年春三月,復用元J21nB110_p0603c10年故事,召師說法如初,錫晏文樓下,親承 顧問。暨J21nB110_p0603c11還,出內府白金以賜。三年之秋, 上以鬼神情狀幽J21nB110_p0603c12微難測,意遺經當有明文,玅揀僧中通三藏之說者J21nB110_p0603c13問焉。師以夢堂噩公、行中仁公等應 召而至,館于J21nB110_p0603c14大天界寺, 上命儀曹勞之。既而援據經論成書,將J21nB110_p0603c15入朝敷奏,師忽示微疾。越四日,趣左右,具浴更衣,索J21nB110_p0603c16筆書偈曰:「真性圓明,本無生滅,木馬夜鳴,西方日出。」J21nB110_p0603c17書畢,謂夢堂曰:「師兄!我將去矣。」夢堂曰:「子去何之?」師J21nB110_p0603c18曰:「西方爾。」夢堂曰:「西方有佛,東方無佛耶?」師厲聲一J21nB110_p0603c19喝,泊然而化,時七月二十六日也。天界住持西白,金J21nB110_p0603c20公法門猶子也,為治後事,無不盡禮。時制火葬有禁,J21nB110_p0603c21禮部以聞, 上特命從其教。荼毘之餘,齒牙舌根數J21nB110_p0603c22珠咸不壞,設利羅粘綴遺骨,纍纍然如珠。其弟子文J21nB110_p0603c23晟奉骨及諸不壞者,歸于海鹽,卜以八月二十八日J21nB110_p0603c24建塔於天寧永祚禪寺葬焉。嗣法上首景瓛,復偕文J21nB110_p0603c25晟以仁公所造行狀來徵銘。仁公博通內外典,文辭J21nB110_p0603c26簡奧,有西漢風,其言當可信弗誣。謹按狀,師諱梵琦,J21nB110_p0603c27楚石其字也,小字曇耀。明州象山人,姓朱氏,父杲,母J21nB110_p0603c28張氏。張夢日墮懷而生。師方在襁褓中,有神僧摩其J21nB110_p0603c29頂曰:「此佛日也,他時能照燭昏衢乎?」人因名之為曇J21nB110_p0603c30耀云。年七歲,靈性穎發,讀書即了大義。或問:「所嗜何J21nB110_p0604a01言?」即應聲曰:「君子喻於義。」至於屬句倣書皆度越餘J21nB110_p0604a02子,遠近號為奇童。九歲棄俗,入永祚,受經於訥翁謨,J21nB110_p0604a03師尋依晉翁詢師於湖之崇恩。詢師,師之從族祖也。J21nB110_p0604a04趙魏公見師器之,為鬻僧牒,得薙染為沙門,繼往杭J21nB110_p0604a05之昭慶受具足戒,年已十有六矣。詢師遷住道場,師J21nB110_p0604a06為侍者,居亡何命司藏室,閱《首楞嚴經》,至「緣見因明,J21nB110_p0604a07暗成無見」處,恍然有省,歷覽群書,不假師授,文句自J21nB110_p0604a08通,然膠於名相,未能釋去纏縛。聞元叟端公倡道雙J21nB110_p0604a09徑,師往問云:「言發非聲,色前不物,其意何如?」元叟就J21nB110_p0604a10以師語詰之,師方擬議欲答,元叟叱之使出,自是群J21nB110_p0604a11疑塞胸,如填鉅石。會元英宗詔粉黃金為泥,書大藏J21nB110_p0604a12經,有司以師善書,選上燕都。一夕,聞西城樓鼓動,汗J21nB110_p0604a13如雨下,拊几笑曰:「徑山鼻孔,今日入吾手矣。」因成一J21nB110_p0604a14偈,有「拾得紅爐一點雪,卻是黃河六月冰」之句,翩然J21nB110_p0604a15南旋,再入雙徑。元叟見師氣貌充然,謂曰:「西來密意,J21nB110_p0604a16喜子得之矣。」遽處以第一、第二座,且言玅喜大法盡J21nB110_p0604a17在於師。有來參叩者,多令師辨決之。元泰定中,行宣J21nB110_p0604a18政院稔師之名,命出世海鹽之福臻,遂升主永祚。永J21nB110_p0604a19祚,師受經之地,為創大寶閣,範銅鑄賢劫千佛,而毘J21nB110_p0604a20盧遮那及文殊師利、普賢、千手眼觀音諸像並寘其J21nB110_p0604a21中。復造塔婆七級,崇二百四十餘尺,功垂就,勢偏將J21nB110_p0604a22壓,師禱之,夜乃大雨風,居氓聞鬼神相語曰:「天寧塔J21nB110_p0604a23偏,亟往救之。」遲明,塔正如初。遷杭之報國,轉嘉興之J21nB110_p0604a24本覺,更搆萬佛閣九楹間,宏偉壯麗,儼如天宮下移J21nB110_p0604a25人世。帝師嘉其行業,賜以佛日普照慧辨禪師之號。J21nB110_p0604a26佛日頗符昔日神僧之言,識者異焉。會報恩光孝虛J21nB110_p0604a27席,僉謂報恩一郡巨剎,非師莫能居之。師勉徇眾請J21nB110_p0604a28而往,尋退隱永祚,築西齋,為終焉之計。至正癸卯,州J21nB110_p0604a29大夫強師主其寺事,時塔燬于兵,師重成之。景瓛為J21nB110_p0604a30鑄寶壺冠于顛,感天花異香之祥。師舉景瓛為代,復J21nB110_p0604b01歸老于西齋云。師為人形軀短小,而神觀精朗,舉明J21nB110_p0604b02正法,滂沛演迤,有不知其所窮。凡所蒞之處,黑白嚮J21nB110_p0604b03慕,如水歸壑,一彈指間,湧殿飛樓上插雲際,未嘗見J21nB110_p0604b04師有作。君子謂師縱橫自如,應物無跡,山川出雲,雷J21nB110_p0604b05蟠電掣,神功收斂,寂寞無聲。由是,內而燕、齊、秦、楚,外J21nB110_p0604b06而日本、高麗,咨決心要,奔走座下,得師片言,裝潢襲J21nB110_p0604b07藏,不翅拱璧,師可謂無愧妙喜諸孫者矣。師世壽七J21nB110_p0604b08十五,僧臘六十三。得法者曰祖光、曰景瓛,受度者曰J21nB110_p0604b09明誠、曰正定等。其說法機用則見於六會語,其遊戲J21nB110_p0604b10翰墨則見于和天台三聖及永明壽、陶潛、林逋諸作,J21nB110_p0604b11別有淨土詩、慈氏上生偈、北游鳳山西齋三集,通合J21nB110_p0604b12若干卷,並傳于世。予慕師之道甚久,近獲執手護龍J21nB110_p0604b13河上相與談玄,因出賸語一編求正。師覽已,歎曰:「不J21nB110_p0604b14意儒者所造,直至于此,善自護持。」師之善誘,推此一J21nB110_p0604b15端,亦可概見。及聞師歿,與國史危公哀悼不自勝,危J21nB110_p0604b16公亦深知師者也。銘曰:
高皇帝每遇大浮屠輒諮詢鬼神情狀,不一而足,J21nB110_p0604b30其所以拔濟幽明,制作禮樂,蓋皆原本于此。世之J21nB110_p0604c01儒者,拾宋人唾餘,便欲撥去一切輪迴因果,多見J21nB110_p0604c02其不知量也。
J21nB110_p0604c03雲棲曰:本朝第一流宗師,無尚於楚石。築石室,扁J21nB110_p0604c04曰西齋,有西齋淨土詩一卷。彼自號禪人,而淺視J21nB110_p0604c05淨土者,可以深長思矣。
J21nB110_p0604c06愚庵及公有悼楚石和尚詩三首,其一曰:「潦倒奚J21nB110_p0604c07翁的骨孫,高年說法屢承恩。麻鞋直上黃金殿,鐵J21nB110_p0604c08錫時敲白下門。煩惱海中垂雨露,虛空背上立乾J21nB110_p0604c09坤。秋風唱徹無生曲,白牯狸奴亦斷魂。」其二曰:J21nB110_p0604c10「聖主從容問鬼神,當機一默重千鈞。荼毘直下金J21nB110_p0604c11門詔,火聚全彰淨法身。平地驚翻三世佛,等閒瞎J21nB110_p0604c12卻一城人。大悲願力知多少?枯木花開別是春。」其J21nB110_p0604c13三曰:「匡床談笑坐跏趺,遺偈親書若貫珠。木馬夜J21nB110_p0604c14鳴端的別,西方日出古今無。分身何啻居天界?弘J21nB110_p0604c15法毋忘在帝都。白髮弟兄空老大,剎竿倒卻要人J21nB110_p0604c16扶。」

J21nB110_p0604c19禪師諱寶金,族姓石氏,其號為壁峰,生于乾州永壽J21nB110_p0604c20縣之名胄。父通甫,宅心從厚,人號為長者。母張氏,亦J21nB110_p0604c21嗜善弗倦。有桑門持缽乞食,以觀音像授張,且屬曰:J21nB110_p0604c22「汝謹事之,當生智慧之男。」未幾,果生禪師,白光煜煜J21nB110_p0604c23然照室。幻恒多疾,纏綿衾枕間,父母疑之曰:「此兒感J21nB110_p0604c24祥徵而生,其宜歸之釋氏乎?」年六歲,依雲寂溫法師J21nB110_p0604c25為弟子。既薙落,受具戒,遍詣講肆,窮性相之學,對眾J21nB110_p0604c26演說,纍纍如貫珠,聞者解頤。已而撫髀嘆曰:「三藏之J21nB110_p0604c27文皆標月之指爾。昔者祖師說法,天華繽紛,金蓮湧J21nB110_p0604c28現,尚未能出離生死,況區區者邪?」即更衣入禪林。時J21nB110_p0604c29如海真公樹正法幢於西蜀晉雲山中,亟往見之。公J21nB110_p0604c30示以道要,禪師大起疑情,二三年間寢食為廢。偶攜J21nB110_p0605a01筐隨公擷蔬於園,忽凝坐不動,歷三時方寤。公曰:「爾J21nB110_p0605a02入定耶?」禪師曰:「然。」曰:「汝何所見?」禪師曰:「有所悟爾。」曰:J21nB110_p0605a03「汝第言之。」禪師舉筐示公,公非之。禪師寘筐于地,拱J21nB110_p0605a04手而立,公又非之。禪師厲聲一喝,公奮前揕其胸,使J21nB110_p0605a05速言,禪師築公胸仆之,公猶未之許,笑曰:「塵勞暫息,J21nB110_p0605a06定力未能深也。必使心路絕、祖關透,然後大法可明J21nB110_p0605a07耳。」禪師聞之,愈精進不懈,遂出參諸方,憩峨眉山,誓J21nB110_p0605a08不復粒食,日採松柏啖之,脅不沾席者又三年,一念J21nB110_p0605a09不生,前後際斷,照體獨立,物我皆如。自是入定,或累J21nB110_p0605a10日不起,嘗趺坐大樹下,溪水橫逸,人意禪師已溺死,J21nB110_p0605a11越七日,水遏競,往視之,禪師燕坐如平時,唯衣濕耳。J21nB110_p0605a12一日,聽伐木聲,通身汗下如雨,嘆曰:「玅喜大悟十有J21nB110_p0605a13八,小悟無算,豈欺我哉?未生前之事,吾今日方知其J21nB110_p0605a14真耳。」急往求證於公,反覆相辨詰甚力,至于拽傾禪J21nB110_p0605a15榻而出,公曰:「是則是矣,翼日重勘之。」至期,公于地上J21nB110_p0605a16畫一圓相,禪師以袖拂去之。公復畫一圓相,禪師于J21nB110_p0605a17中增一畫,又拂去之。公再畫如前,禪師又增一畫成J21nB110_p0605a18十字,又拂去之。公視之不語,復畫如前,禪師于十字J21nB110_p0605a19加四隅成卍文,又拂去之。公乃總畫三十圓相,禪師J21nB110_p0605a20一一具答。公曰:「汝今方知佛法宏勝如此也。百餘年J21nB110_p0605a21間參學有悟者,世豈無之?能明大機用者,寧復幾人?J21nB110_p0605a22無用和尚有云:『座下當出三虎一彪。』一彪者,豈非爾J21nB110_p0605a23邪?爾宜往朔方,其道當大行也。」無用蓋公之師云。先J21nB110_p0605a24是禪師在定中見一山甚秀麗,重樓傑閣,金碧絢爛,J21nB110_p0605a25諸佛五十二菩薩行道其中。有招禪師,謂曰:「此五臺J21nB110_p0605a26山秘魔巖也,爾前身修道其中,靈骨猶在,何乃忘之?」J21nB110_p0605a27既寤,遂遊五臺山,道逢蓬首女子,身被五綵獘衣,赤J21nB110_p0605a28足徐行,一黑獒隨其後,禪師問曰:「子何之?」曰:「入山中J21nB110_p0605a29爾。」曰:「將何為?」曰:「一切不為。」良久乃沒。叩之同行者,皆J21nB110_p0605a30弗之見,或謂為文殊化身云。禪師乃就山建靈鷲庵,J21nB110_p0605b01四方聞之,不遠千里負餱糧來獻者,日繽紛也。禪師J21nB110_p0605b02悉儲之以食游學之僧,多至千餘人,雖丁歲大儉,亦J21nB110_p0605b03不拒也。至正戊子冬,順帝遣使者召至燕都,慰勞甚J21nB110_p0605b04至。天竺僧指空久留燕,相傳能前知,號為三百歲,人J21nB110_p0605b05敬之如神。禪師往與叩擊,空瞪視不答,及出,空嘆曰:J21nB110_p0605b06「此真有道者也。」冬夕大雪,有紅光自禪師室中起,上J21nB110_p0605b07接霄漢,帝驚嘆,賜以金紋伽黎衣遣歸。明年己丑,復J21nB110_p0605b08召見延春閣,命建壇禱雨輒應,贈以金繒若干。禪師J21nB110_p0605b09受之,即以拯饑乏民。又明年庚寅,特賜寂照圓明大J21nB110_p0605b10禪師之號,詔主海印禪寺。禪師力辭名香、法衣之賜,J21nB110_p0605b11殆無虛日,自丞相而下以至武夫悍將,無不以為依J21nB110_p0605b12皈,已而懇求還山。洪武戊申, 大明皇帝即位于建J21nB110_p0605b13業。明年己酉,燕都平。又明年庚戌,詔禪師至南京。夏J21nB110_p0605b14五月,見 上于奉天殿,且曰:「朕聞師名,久以中州苦J21nB110_p0605b15寒,特延師居南方爾。」遂留于大天界寺。時召入,問佛J21nB110_p0605b16法及鬼神情狀,秦對稱 旨。又二年辛亥冬十月朔,J21nB110_p0605b17上將設普濟佛會于鍾山, 命高行僧十人蒞其事,J21nB110_p0605b18而禪師與焉,賜伊蒲饌于崇禧寺, 大駕幸臨,移時J21nB110_p0605b19方還。明年壬子春正月既望,諸沙門方畢集, 上服J21nB110_p0605b20皮弁服,親行獻佛之禮。夜將半, 敕禪師于圜悟關J21nB110_p0605b21施摩陀伽斛法食。竣事, 寵賚優渥。夏五月,悉鬻衣J21nB110_p0605b22盂之資,作佛事七日。乃示微疾, 上知之,親御翰墨,J21nB110_p0605b23賜詩十二韻,有「玄關盡悟,已成正覺」之言。 天光昭J21nB110_p0605b24回,人皆以為榮。時疾已革,不能詣闕謝。至六月四日,J21nB110_p0605b25沐浴更衣,與四眾言別,正襟危坐,目將瞑,弟子祖全、J21nB110_p0605b26智信請曰:「和尚逝則逝矣,不留一言,何以暴白於後J21nB110_p0605b27世邪?」禪師曰:「三藏法寶尚為故紙,吾言欲何為?」夷然J21nB110_p0605b28而逝,世壽六十五,僧臘五十。又九後三日,奉龕荼毘,J21nB110_p0605b29於聚寶山傾城出送,香幣積如丘陵,或恐不得與執J21nB110_p0605b30紼之列,露宿以俟之。及至火滅,獲五色舍利,齒舌數J21nB110_p0605c01珠皆不壞,紛然爭取灰土為盡。禪師體貌豐偉端重,J21nB110_p0605c02寡言笑,福慧雙足,所至化之。故其在山也,捧足頂禮J21nB110_p0605c03者項背相望;其應供而出也,持香華、擊梵樂而迎者J21nB110_p0605c04在在如是,不啻生佛出現。其行事多可書,弟子散之J21nB110_p0605c05四方,無以會其同。祖全等將以某年月建塔于某山J21nB110_p0605c06制掇其大略,請安次王普為狀一通,徵濂為之銘。

J21nB110_p0605c15金陵梵剎志載嘉靖元年碧峰寺記云:洪武五年J21nB110_p0605c27壬子,敕工部黃侍郎重建。先是碧峰禪師奏上建J21nB110_p0605c28寺請名, 高皇帝御賜號,因以題寺。按建寺之年,J21nB110_p0605c29即禪師示寂之歲也。宋文憲碑文立于次年癸丑J21nB110_p0605c30七月既望,何以不載建寺緣起,章明法門盛事耶?J21nB110_p0606a01國初工侍僅黃立恭一人,攷之欽錄集,洪武二十J21nB110_p0606a02年五月,鞍轡局大使黃立恭于大庖西奉聖旨。至J21nB110_p0606a03二十一年戊辰, 御製修報恩寺塔記,始稱工部J21nB110_p0606a04左侍郎黃立恭。昔本技流,今職工部,安得于五年J21nB110_p0606a05先官工侍耶?記稱師棄髮存鬚,出使西洋諸國,授J21nB110_p0606a06爵固辭。俗所傳西洋記,稱碧峰同三寶太監下西J21nB110_p0606a07洋事,蓋委巷小人之語,寺記殆承此訛也。鄭和等J21nB110_p0606a08使西洋始自永樂七年,師示寂久矣。如有之,則文J21nB110_p0606a09憲于天界曇公記奉使西域事甚詳,何獨略于師J21nB110_p0606a10耶?記又稱師祈雨靈異為真人所譖,投之水火無J21nB110_p0606a11損。後辭歸西域,巳時陛辭期,午時出潼關,是日以J21nB110_p0606a12上賜袈裟,遣守關吏奏上。師生于乾州名族,而曰J21nB110_p0606a13西域胡僧示寂金陵,荼毗聚寶山而曰辭上西歸。J21nB110_p0606a14師世壽六十五,而記稱 高帝讚碧峰像云:「年逾J21nB110_p0606a15七十」,幾益又謬矣。國初大浮屠,惟碧峰最著,流傳J21nB110_p0606a16神異,未易更僕寺記所載,皆非實錄,他可知已。示J21nB110_p0606a17現微權與諸法實相無二,末法無正知見,往往以J21nB110_p0606a18神通相眩惑,請以文憲塔銘正之。丙辰冬十一月,J21nB110_p0606a19錢謙益謹跋。

J21nB110_p0606a22濂自幼至壯,飽閱三藏諸文,粗識世雄氏所以見性J21nB110_p0606a23明心之旨。及游仕中外,頗以文辭為佛事。由是南北J21nB110_p0606a24大浮屠其順世而去者,多以塔上之銘為屬。衰遲之J21nB110_p0606a25餘,諸習皆空,凡他有所請,輒峻拒而不為,獨於鋪敘J21nB110_p0606a26悟緣、評騭梵行每若不敢後者,蓋欲表般若之勝因,J21nB110_p0606a27啟眾生之正信也。有如佛性圓辨禪師者,濂安得而J21nB110_p0606a28不銘諸?按其嗣法弟子行圓所造年譜,師諱智順,字J21nB110_p0606a29逆川,溫之瑞安陳氏子也。有翁媼精修白業,既沒,蓮J21nB110_p0606a30華現門屏間,師之大父母也。翁生道羨,娶婁氏,屢至J21nB110_p0606b01哭子,其情不勝哀,乃塑智者大師像事之。一夕,夢僧J21nB110_p0606b02頂有圓光,逆江流而上,招婁氏謂曰:「吾當為汝之子。」J21nB110_p0606b03及寤而有娠。師既生,美質夙成。年五歲,即從季父學。J21nB110_p0606b04季父引生徒渡溪,抵萃墅,師力欲相隨,季父怒麾之J21nB110_p0606b05還。已而溪暴漲,季父生徒皆溺死。然自少不喜畜髮,J21nB110_p0606b06翛然有塵外趣,婁氏弗能留。七歲,俾依仲父慧光於J21nB110_p0606b07崇興精舍。稍長,受具戒於天寧禪院。其父亦樂脩淨J21nB110_p0606b08觀,俄離俗,同居精舍中。精舍將圮,師即協眾力葺之。J21nB110_p0606b09時年甫十八,君子固知其為適用之材,暨習《法華經》,J21nB110_p0606b10歷三月,通誦其文,慧光尤器之,使出游永嘉無相院J21nB110_p0606b11覺源璿法師,愛師俊朗,挽其為嗣。會橫雲岳法師,大J21nB110_p0606b12弘三觀十乘之旨于水心法明寺,師往而受其說,眾J21nB110_p0606b13推為上首。居亡何走鴈山雙峰,不契所言。復走千佛J21nB110_p0606b14寺,毒海清法師方開演,長坐御講,請師為綱維之職,J21nB110_p0606b15軌範為之肅然。毒海入寂,師感世相無常,嘆曰:「義學J21nB110_p0606b16雖益多聞,難禦生死。即禦生死,舍自性將奚明哉?」遂J21nB110_p0606b17更衣入禪。復走閩之天寶山,參鐵關樞公,公圓悟八J21nB110_p0606b18世孫也。授師以心要,遵而行之,似有階漸,欲依公而J21nB110_p0606b19住,公叱曰:「丈夫不於大叢林與人相頡,頑局此蠡殼J21nB110_p0606b20中邪?」拂袖而入。師下旦過寮,潸然而泣,或憫之慰曰:J21nB110_p0606b21「善知識門庭高峻,拒之即進之也。」公聞其事,笑曰:「吾J21nB110_p0606b22知其為法器,姑相試爾。」乃延入僧堂中。師壁立萬仞,J21nB110_p0606b23無所回撓,雖晝夜明暗亦不能辨。踰月,因如廁,便旋J21nB110_p0606b24睹中園匏瓜,觸發玅機,四體輕清,如新浴出室,一一J21nB110_p0606b25毛孔皆出光明,目前大地倏爾平沈。喜幸之極,亟上J21nB110_p0606b26方丈求證。適公入府城,師不往見,水濱林下放曠自J21nB110_p0606b27如。已而歷抵諸師皆不合,又聞千巖長禪師鳴道烏J21nB110_p0606b28傷伏龍山,往叩之,其所酬應者皆涉理路,飄然東歸,J21nB110_p0606b29燃指作發願文,細書於紳,必欲見道乃已。復自念:「非J21nB110_p0606b30公不足。」依洊走閩中見焉。公偶出遊,遙見師,喜曰:「我J21nB110_p0606c01子今來也。」越翌日,師舉所悟求證,公曰:「此第入門耳,J21nB110_p0606c02最上一乘則邈在萬里之外也。」乃囑之曰:「汝可悉棄J21nB110_p0606c03前解,專於參提上致力,則將自入閫奧矣。」師從公言,J21nB110_p0606c04踰五閱月,一日將晚參,擬離禪榻,忽豁然有省,如虛J21nB110_p0606c05空玲瓏,不可湊泊,厲聲告公曰:「南泉敗闕,今已見矣。」J21nB110_p0606c06公曰:「不是心、不是佛、不是物,是何物?」師曰:「地上磚鋪,J21nB110_p0606c07屋上瓦覆。」公曰:「即今南泉在何處?」師曰:「鷂子過新羅。」J21nB110_p0606c08公曰:「錯。」師亦曰:「錯。」公曰:「錯,錯。」師觸禮一拜而退。公曰:J21nB110_p0606c09「未然也。」公披大衣,鳴鍾集四眾,再行勘驗,師笑曰:「未J21nB110_p0606c10吐辭之前,已不相涉,和尚眼目何在,又為此一場戲J21nB110_p0606c11劇邪?」公曰:「要使眾皆知之。」遂將宗門諸語一一訊師,J21nB110_p0606c12師一一具答,公然之,復囑曰:「善自護持,勿輕泄也。」久J21nB110_p0606c13之,令掌藏室,尋請分座說法。公既捐館,師嗣住院事,J21nB110_p0606c14非惟舉唱宗乘,寺制有未備,悉補足焉。甓驛道達於J21nB110_p0606c15山門,踰六七里,擇地搆亭,以增勝概,眾方賴之。忽爾J21nB110_p0606c16棄去,過杉關,抵百丈,上迦葉峰,渡江入淮,禮諸祖之J21nB110_p0606c17塔,經建業,回浙中,超然如野鶴孤雲,無所留礙。尋返J21nB110_p0606c18永嘉,會王槐卿造報恩院于瑞安大龍山,首延師為J21nB110_p0606c19之主,參徒寢盛至八百指,師建僧堂棟居之。石室巖J21nB110_p0606c20禪師主江心,豔師之為,復以第一座處師,師翩然而J21nB110_p0606c21往。未幾,又以何山精舍棟宇湫隘,不足以容眾,拓之J21nB110_p0606c22為大伽藍,為建大雄寶殿及法堂,三門兩廡、方丈庫J21nB110_p0606c23院之屬,而塑像、繒壁諸莊嚴事亦次第告完。平陽吳J21nB110_p0606c24德大創歸原寺,歸原援報恩之例,請師開山。師慈憫J21nB110_p0606c25心切,亦不欲拒。既至,為造小大鼓鍾、魚板法器而叩J21nB110_p0606c26擊之,授職分班,升堂入室,皆按清規而行。時東海有J21nB110_p0606c27警元帥達忠介公,帥師鎮台,遣使聘師入行府,師以J21nB110_p0606c28達公方有事干戈,絕之弗見。達公慕詠弗置,篆「逆川」J21nB110_p0606c29二字遺之。師因飯囚,戒其勿萌遁逃心,即重見日月。J21nB110_p0606c30不久而赦書至,周吳二囚以師為神。其後山寇竊發,J21nB110_p0607a01二囚實為渠魁,所經之處焚毀欲盡,歸原報恩,以師J21nB110_p0607a02故獨存。師終不遑寧處,避入無礙菴,又還歸原。朝廷J21nB110_p0607a03為降院額,賜師今號及金襴法衣,師曾不以為悅,悉J21nB110_p0607a04散其衣盂所畜,退居一室,掘地以為爐,折竹以為箸,J21nB110_p0607a05意澹如也。溫城淨光塔雄鎮一方,年久將壞,方參政J21nB110_p0607a06初,嘗戍其城,欲賦民錢葺之,命師蒞其事。師曰:「民力J21nB110_p0607a07凋攰久,火燄炎炎而復加薪,吾安忍為之?必欲見用,J21nB110_p0607a08官中勿擾吾事,若無所聞知可也。」方諾之。師乃定計J21nB110_p0607a09城中之戶餘二萬戶,捐米月一升,月獲米二百石。陶J21nB110_p0607a10甓掄材若神運鬼輸,紛然四集。鎮心之木以尺計者,J21nB110_p0607a11其長一百五十,最難致之。師談笑趣辦七成,既粗完,J21nB110_p0607a12其下仍築塔殿,宏敞壯麗,九斗之勢益雄。一旦,颶風J21nB110_p0607a13作,其上一成挾之以入海濤,眾咸傷之,師曰:「塔終不J21nB110_p0607a14可以就乎。」持心益固,遣其徒如閩鑄露盤輪相及燄J21nB110_p0607a15珠之類,日就月將,欄楯硐戶一一就緒,金鮮碧明,猶J21nB110_p0607a16天降而地涌也。縻錢過十萬,而工役弗與焉。辨章燕J21nB110_p0607a17只不花出鎮閩省,道過東甌,夜觀塔燈熒煌,知師所J21nB110_p0607a18造,乃謁師問道,并談《般若經》。師用漢言而直解之,辨J21nB110_p0607a19章甚悅,顧謂左右曰:「西天諸師授我以密義,尚不能J21nB110_p0607a20相協,今聞逆川師言,則心地開明矣。」亟呼舟同載入J21nB110_p0607a21閩宜政分院,請師住東禪廢剎,不一載間,殿堂矗如、J21nB110_p0607a22門廡森如、藏庫燁如,摶土以設諸像,梵容穆沖,各隨J21nB110_p0607a23相變現,靈山一會儼然未散。畢功之日,省院臺府諸J21nB110_p0607a24官與大比丘眾共落其成,師則曰:「未也。」復甃東南二J21nB110_p0607a25門,通逵若干丈。營福城東際花藏海南,參初地三牌J21nB110_p0607a26門,營普庵堂,以施茗飲。浚湯泉二所,以利浴者,限以J21nB110_p0607a27垣墉縈紆其徑路,而馬牛無自而入。補刊開元藏經J21nB110_p0607a28板,仍印施之。其可以弘濟人者,無不為也。先是淨業J21nB110_p0607a29慶成,東報國舶塔、寶月、松峰諸寺,兵燹之餘,莽為荒J21nB110_p0607a30榛。福建行中書將籍其產于官,師言於辨章,獲仍其J21nB110_p0607b01舊。辨章欲閱大藏尊經于家,或以几席、什器難具為J21nB110_p0607b02辭,師令浮屠一百七十人為什,分辦於各剎,表以題J21nB110_p0607b03號,一時畢聚,仍畫為圖,使按圖序次列之,給役於飲J21nB110_p0607b04饌間者,亦更番而進,每以鍾鼓為節,後先不紊。辨章J21nB110_p0607b05悅曰:「使吾師總戎,則無敗北之患矣。」師俄散財如歸J21nB110_p0607b06原時,恬然而退,辨章留之不從。會雪峰虛席,辨章強J21nB110_p0607b07師補其處,師不得已啟行。未行,先鳩工師二十人往J21nB110_p0607b08拯室廬之欹側者。既至,絲毫之費咸自己出,緇素莫J21nB110_p0607b09不從化。有徐子剛者,據寺之安仁莊收粟萬斛,聞師J21nB110_p0607b10至,亟輸還之。部使者橐驩自負,通《楞嚴》、《寶積》二經,輕J21nB110_p0607b11視諸人,師以關鍵詰之,斂衽而去,已而思還。溫方參J21nB110_p0607b12政,具船迎之。千佛院災,無有起其廢者,師彈指頃,千J21nB110_p0607b13佛閣成。未幾,前門左右廡又成。俄東甌內附,師潛居J21nB110_p0607b14林泉,若將終身。江心蘭隱逸禪師市材于山,欲建萬J21nB110_p0607b15佛閣,而年耄力不勝,遂以屬師。師起而應之,亦不日J21nB110_p0607b16而成,且為砌釋迦寶殿,創解脫門,以至蒙堂經室,無J21nB110_p0607b17不具足。初,師采材於山道,經普安院,院燬已久,唯山J21nB110_p0607b18門巋然煙雨中。師見之,笑曰:「吾為爾移山門為佛殿,J21nB110_p0607b19何如?」眾皆合爪指謝之。師為撒瓦輦致故基,一毫無J21nB110_p0607b20所損。徐取寺山之木,重完僧堂而後返。 皇上尊尚J21nB110_p0607b21佛乘,召江南高行僧十人,於鍾山建無遮法會。師與J21nB110_p0607b22其列,升座演說,聽者數千。大駕幸臨,慰問備至,號為J21nB110_p0607b23一時寵遇。竣事還錢唐,清遠渭公方主淨慈,舉師以J21nB110_p0607b24為代。師初不從,繼而嘆曰:「所貴沙門行者,隨緣應世,J21nB110_p0607b25何所容心哉?」乃振錫而往。淨慈當兵後,凋落殊甚,師J21nB110_p0607b26亟還鄉,召匠計傭,竭其筐篋而來,欲大有設施,而諸J21nB110_p0607b27僧負官逋者,係累滿庭,師為之出涕,悉代償之。會J21nB110_p0607b28中朝徵有道浮屠以備顧問,眾咸推師。師至南京,僅J21nB110_p0607b29四閱月,沐浴書偈而逝,實洪武六年八月二十日也。J21nB110_p0607b30世壽若干,僧臘若干。二十一日,闍維于聚寶山,獲設J21nB110_p0607c01利無筭。得其法者,曰文顯、曰興富、曰某,其一即行圓。J21nB110_p0607c02於是持靈骨而歸建塔于某處,以明年 J21nB110_p0608c12皇帝受 天明命,奄有方夏,鴻仁惠澤覃及幽明,于J21nB110_p0608c13是有學僧伽奉 詔入京, 上御奉天殿,丞相、御史J21nB110_p0608c14大夫暨百僚咸在,而僧伽魚貫而見。時東溟大師年J21nB110_p0608c15最高,白眉朱顏,其班前列。 上親問以升濟沉冥之J21nB110_p0608c16道,師備述其故, 上悅,顧眾而言曰:「邇來學佛者,唯J21nB110_p0608c17飽食優游,沉薶歲月而已。如《金剛》、《楞伽》諸經皆攝心J21nB110_p0608c18之要典,何不研窮其義?苟有不通,質諸白眉法師可J21nB110_p0608c19也。」自後數 召見,字而不名,人皆以為師榮。及建鍾J21nB110_p0608c20山法會,請師說毗尼淨戒,聞者開懌。時洪武五年春J21nB110_p0608c21正月之望也。師辭,歸杭之上天竺山,日修西方安養J21nB110_p0608c22之學,冥心合道,不雜一念。十二年秋七月朔日,夢青J21nB110_p0608c23蓮華生方池中,華色敷瘦,清芬襲人。既寤,召弟子妙J21nB110_p0608c24修曰:「此生淨土之祥也,吾去人間世殆不遠乎。」至四J21nB110_p0608c25日,趺坐書頌,合爪而寂。世壽八十又九,僧臘七十有J21nB110_p0608c26三。其月十日,奉全身藏于山之西峰玅應塔院。玅修J21nB110_p0608c27乃具行業,來言曰:「先師有墜言:『吾死,非宋學士不可J21nB110_p0608c28以銘吾塔。』執事嘗與先師游,敢援斯故,竊有所請。」濂J21nB110_p0608c29前年幸謁師,見師精神浮動眉宇間,戲謂師曰:「法力J21nB110_p0608c30所攝,師之四體當益強。濂歲歲上京,師必過虎林,必J21nB110_p0609a01與師談辨,如今日也。」師曰:「學士固未艾,老身石火電J21nB110_p0609a02光,爾烏能久乎?」遂一笑而別。豈意師果翛然而西往J21nB110_p0609a03乎?銘何敢辭?師諱慧日,號東溟,天台赤城人,宋丞相J21nB110_p0609a04賈魏公諸孫,志慕空門,往縣之廣嚴依平山等公,落J21nB110_p0609a05髮為桑門。時子庭訓公講台衡之學于赤城,師走輪J21nB110_p0609a06下而受其說,依科指授,便能領其大義,觸類而長,日J21nB110_p0609a07增而日益。子庭嘆曰:「投凡下峻阪,不足以喻其迅疾J21nB110_p0609a08也。北峰之道,其藉之以大昌乎?」自是子庭一屬意于J21nB110_p0609a09師,歷代相承微旨,所以扶正斥邪、伐異歸同者,無不J21nB110_p0609a10言之。師之學沉浸醲郁,而名動一時矣。一旦假寐,似J21nB110_p0609a11見有竹橫地下,竹上所凝者白粥粲然,師因臥而餐J21nB110_p0609a12之。及覺,言于子庭。子庭曰:「竹粥與竺同音,子得就地J21nB110_p0609a13以食,其緣殆在上下兩天竺之間乎?子宜亟行。」師即J21nB110_p0609a14持瓶錫而出,遠度浙河,拜竹屋淨公于上竺觀音教J21nB110_p0609a15寺。竹屋見師俊穎,輒留之,所處頗卑濕,師賦詩以述J21nB110_p0609a16其事,竹屋見之,謂其眾曰:「此郎不凡,他日當嗣主茲J21nB110_p0609a17山,不可以少年易之。」為遷燥剛之地,遇之如賓友。會J21nB110_p0609a18有營繕之役,而施金帛者接踵而至,勤舊僧欲偈示J21nB110_p0609a19氏名以勵其餘,選工書者,眾卒無以應,師揚袂出曰:J21nB110_p0609a20「吾試為之。」霞布雲舒,精采煥發。竹屋見之尤喜,且曰:J21nB110_p0609a21「吾前言果不謬矣。翹翹蒼松挺出于荊榛之上者,非J21nB110_p0609a22其類也邪!」命典賓客,尋更掌僧籍。竹屋既示寂,越溪J21nB110_p0609a23澄公自演福來繼其後。越溪甚器師,延居後堂之板J21nB110_p0609a24首。未幾,出世吳山聖水,越溪念之弗忍舍,復招還山,J21nB110_p0609a25處以上座,以表儀四眾。吳楚閩蜀之士趼足而至者,J21nB110_p0609a26動以百計。師隨其性竇淺深而疏導之,作人之盛,當J21nB110_p0609a27時罕有其比。元重紀至元四年,行宣政院采諸人望J21nB110_p0609a28以主列剎,而師獲住薦福。歷三暑寒,下竺靈山教寺J21nB110_p0609a29災,至正元年,宣政使高公納麟謂非師無以膺起廢J21nB110_p0609a30之任,移師蒞之。師至,修普賢大士殿,雲間大姓蔡氏J21nB110_p0609b01邀師至家,施錢十萬緡。師過姑蘇,大致香楠為材,曾J21nB110_p0609b02未幾何,大雄寶殿成。蔡卒,其妻夏氏為刻佛菩薩,洎J21nB110_p0609b03觀自在、大阿羅漢諸像,黃文獻公溍實為之記。四年,J21nB110_p0609b04高公又遷住上天竺,子庭所謂上下兩天竺之徵,至J21nB110_p0609b05是益驗矣。師知緣契在斯,夙夜注心,罔敢怠遑,走募J21nB110_p0609b06多金之家。初修大殿,次建三解脫門,次鑄巨鍾,搆危J21nB110_p0609b07樓以冠之。次營重閣講堂,上祠諸祖,下為講法之所。J21nB110_p0609b08他若白雲堂、選佛場及諸寮宇,一一皆完復。罄已橐J21nB110_p0609b09甓通塗,自普門達于三門,凡寺制所宜有,無不具焉。J21nB110_p0609b10帝師大寶法王嘉師法行,賜以金襴法衣及慈光玅J21nB110_p0609b11應普濟大師之號。十六年,師自念人貴知止,汲將焉J21nB110_p0609b12求,竟撾鼓而退,隱于會稽山水間,飄飄然如野鶴孤J21nB110_p0609b13雲,人不知其為師。江浙行省丞相達識帖穆爾公方J21nB110_p0609b14領宣政院事,遣使者以物色,訪之,力請還山,躬帥僚J21nB110_p0609b15屬香華以迎。師知其誠,復再正法席,前後所住凡二J21nB110_p0609b16十五年。 國朝洪武改元,始獲謝事于塔院云。師軀J21nB110_p0609b17斡脩偉,眉長一寸餘,其白勝雪,目睛閃閃,射人道德,J21nB110_p0609b18餘光所照,不問耄倪見師經行,輒曰:「我白眉和尚來J21nB110_p0609b19也。」爭持香華以為供養。居常顏面嚴冷,片言不妄發。J21nB110_p0609b20即發,雖對王公大臣,未嘗出一軟媚語。至于誘掖後J21nB110_p0609b21進,色溫如春陽。天台四明所著諸書,循環開授,止而J21nB110_p0609b22復初,聽者咸謂披青雲而見白日。其在京時,輿論以J21nB110_p0609b23瓦官昇元教寺,乃天台初釋法華道場,不可久廢,乃J21nB110_p0609b24以其事上聞,即天界禪林別建室廬,以存舊號,請師J21nB110_p0609b25開山。師為升座說法,九府大浮屠皆俯首以聽,風聲J21nB110_p0609b26所被遐邇,翕然歸心。師所度弟子甚眾,其在下竺則J21nB110_p0609b27圓具等十人,上竺近二百人,而玅思、玅本、妙脩為最J21nB110_p0609b28先嗣。其法系者,則思齊、行樞、允鑑、允忠、良謹、普知、文J21nB110_p0609b29會、元琇、景梵,各闡化于一方。今繼師住上天竺者,即J21nB110_p0609b30玅修也。濂聞法智尊者中興天台之道,五傳至北峰J21nB110_p0609c01為尤盛,北峰諸子無不競爽,而佛光、桐州、剡源為最J21nB110_p0609c02良。剡源之孫曰越溪,而桐州之孫則玉岡也。師為佛J21nB110_p0609c03光再傳之嗣,視越溪、玉岡為法門兄弟,先後同荷大J21nB110_p0609c04法,攝受有情,法筵特為江南之最。柰何越溪、玉岡同J21nB110_p0609c05年化去,而耆德偉望唯師之存,巋然如魯靈光聳人J21nB110_p0609c06瞻敬,三十八年之間,其弘宗助教,有功多矣。苟不勒J21nB110_p0609c07諸圓廟之碑,何以垂示罔極而慰學者之思哉?乃從J21nB110_p0609c08玅修之請,而述銘曰:

J21nB110_p0609c22華嚴建宗始于帝心大士,帝心作法界觀門及妄盡J21nB110_p0609c23還源觀以傳雲華,雲華傳賢首,賢首既終,而其徒慧J21nB110_p0609c24苑等悉叛師說。後百有餘年,僧統清涼國師遙遵遐J21nB110_p0609c25軌,丕弘教緒。國師傳圭峰,圭峰傳奧,奧之後又復廢J21nB110_p0609c26逸。朗現父子相繼而作,補葺粗完。現傳璿,璿傳源,二J21nB110_p0609c27師陰搜陽闡,其宗于是乎中興。源傳沖,沖傳觀,觀傳J21nB110_p0609c28會,會傳心,心傳悟。悟號竹坡,自吳來越,開法景德教J21nB110_p0609c29寺,越之有賢首教,自悟始。悟傳介,介傳瓊,瓊傳南山J21nB110_p0609c30萃冥,承國師之旨,大能發越,受學者至千餘人。萃傳J21nB110_p0610a01春谷遇,遇傳今佛心慈濟玅辨大師同公。上溯圭峰,J21nB110_p0610a02凡一十六代矣。公諱大同,字一雲,其號別峰。越之上J21nB110_p0610a03虞王氏子,世推簪纓之族。父有樵,母陳氏,妊師已十J21nB110_p0610a04月,父見龐眉僧振錫而行,問僧:「來自何所?」曰:「崑崙山J21nB110_p0610a05也。」竟排闥而入,父急追之,寂然無有也。暨出,聞房中J21nB110_p0610a06兒啼聲,笑曰:「兒豈向來浮屠也?」幼極俊爽,覽諸載籍J21nB110_p0610a07輒會其玄奧。父授以辭章之訣,握筆翩翩,輒有可觀,J21nB110_p0610a08遂以纘承家學屬之。母獨嘆曰:「是子般若種也,可俾J21nB110_p0610a09其纏繞塵勞乎?」命捨家,入會稽崇勝寺,從僧貴游,已J21nB110_p0610a10而剃落,受菩薩戒。會春谷講經景德,公復往依之,獲J21nB110_p0610a11受五教儀、玄談二書。又謁懷古肇師,受四種法界觀。J21nB110_p0610a12懷古、春谷皆南山大弟子,深于華嚴之學者也。公天J21nB110_p0610a13分既高,又加精進之功,凡清涼一家疏章悉攝其會J21nB110_p0610a14通而領其樞要,義趣消融,智光發現,識者心服之。春J21nB110_p0610a15谷陞主寶林華嚴教院,召公謂曰:「子學精且博矣,恐J21nB110_p0610a16滯于心胸以成麤執,曷從事思惟修以剷滌之乎?」公J21nB110_p0610a17即出錢塘,見佛智熙禪師于慧日峰下,舊所記憶者J21nB110_p0610a18一切棄絕,唯存孤明,耿耿自照。如是者閱六暑寒。佛J21nB110_p0610a19智嘉其有成,欲縻以上職,不聽而去。俄上天目山,禮J21nB110_p0610a20普應本禪師,普應見已,期之如佛智。公將久留,普應J21nB110_p0610a21曰:「賢首之宗,日遠而日微矣。子之器量足以張大之,J21nB110_p0610a22母久淹乎此也。」為贊清涼像而遣之,公喜曰:「吾今始J21nB110_p0610a23知萬法皆本一心,不識孰為禪那而孰為教乘內外?」J21nB110_p0610a24自此空矣。亟還寶林,見春谷,且告之,故春谷曰:「可矣。」J21nB110_p0610a25乃命之司賓,尋陞上座。當時相從者,皆宏偉之龍象,J21nB110_p0610a26公為分講雜華玄門,會要統宗必極其所言。宋故官J21nB110_p0610a27徐天祐、王易簡聞之,相與崇獎莫置,聲光煥著,五尺J21nB110_p0610a28童子皆能知其名。郡守范侯某,憐春谷僧臘已高,風J21nB110_p0610a29之使讓其席,公毅然不答。侯設伊蒲供延公,親與之J21nB110_p0610a30語,公曰:「有是哉!所貴乎道者,在明師弟子之分垂訓J21nB110_p0610b01後人,苟乘其耄而攘其位,豈人之所為乎?明公縱愛J21nB110_p0610b02我厚,名義不可犯也。」侯不覺離席,把公臂曰:「別峰誠J21nB110_p0610b03非常人也。」元延祐初,始用薦者,出世蕭山淨土寺。公J21nB110_p0610b04自念圭峰以來,累葉相承,其間或絕、或續,繫執法者J21nB110_p0610b05之賢否。遂發弘誓,力持大法,晨講夕演,雖至于勞[貫*力],J21nB110_p0610b06弗敢少懈。天曆初,朝廷新設廣教都總管府,遴選名J21nB110_p0610b07山主僧,一歸至公,陞公住景德重紀。至元中,行宣政J21nB110_p0610b08院,遷主嘉禾之東塔,公不赴。時宰臣領院事乃改寶J21nB110_p0610b09林,寶林清涼肄業之地,人咸為公榮。公固守謙退,遲J21nB110_p0610b10回不上。州牧邑尹山、林友社,交疏延請,亦不允。至第J21nB110_p0610b11二疏始投袂而起,倣終南山草堂故事,建高齋,闢幽J21nB110_p0610b12舍,招徠俊乂,浙水東西莫不擔簦躡屩,爭集輪下。公J21nB110_p0610b13竭忱開授,比景德為尤勤,法筵之盛不減東山。時公J21nB110_p0610b14復念許玄度、皮道輿、蕭詧三公,程師孟、汪仲舉二郡J21nB110_p0610b15守,有修建塔廟之勳,立五賢祠,以世祀焉。至正初,順J21nB110_p0610b16帝御宣文閣,近臣有以公之道行聞者,帝嘉之,特賜J21nB110_p0610b17金襴伽黎衣,帝師大寶法王,亦俾以六字師號,隱然J21nB110_p0610b18作鎮江南,宗門恒倚之以為重。狀元忠介公泰不華J21nB110_p0610b19守越病旱,無以禳僉,謂非公不可。公為爇香臂上以J21nB110_p0610b20請雨,即澍。公蒞事一紀餘,以疾固辭,堅臥崇福庵中。J21nB110_p0610b21未幾,部使者持節行郡迫起之。元季寺焚于兵,公奮J21nB110_p0610b22然有為,創演法堂及方丈室,皆六楹間堂以實三藏。J21nB110_p0610b23梵典室以修首楞嚴期,殿閣門廡將次第經營,而時J21nB110_p0610b24事日棘,公因退處瞻博迦室,年垂及於八十矣。 皇J21nB110_p0610b25明御極,四海更化,設無遮大會于鍾山,名浮屠咸應J21nB110_p0610b26詔集 闕下,入見于武樓,獨免公拜跽之禮,命善世J21nB110_p0610b27院護視之。次日,復 召賜食禁中,及還,復有白金之J21nB110_p0610b28賜。洪武二年冬十二月,得疾久不瘳,口占辭眾語,端J21nB110_p0610b29坐而蛻,實三年春三月十日也。世壽八十一,僧年六J21nB110_p0610b30十五。越七日,遵治命就城南竹山準法闍維,收餘燼J21nB110_p0610c01瘞焉。所度弟子泰來、元善、如坻、性徵、慧朗、智僊、真詣、J21nB110_p0610c02總該,其嗣法分布列剎者,則玅心大衍、皋亭善現、高J21nB110_p0610c03麗若蘭、景德仁靜、姜山明善、延壽師顗、南塔國琛、福J21nB110_p0610c04城大慧、景福性澄、玅相道偁、法雲道悅、小寶林日益、J21nB110_p0610c05淨土梵翱也。公神宇超邁,伏犀插腦,長身而玉立,美J21nB110_p0610c06談吐,遇王公貴人輕重教門者,發論袞袞弗休。其挺J21nB110_p0610c07已衛道,理或不直,雖斧鑕在前,不少挫其氣。中歲稍J21nB110_p0610c08涉魔事,至中之以危法,公不顧下帷卻掃,日味華嚴,J21nB110_p0610c09其人一旦自斃。然其游心文翰、賓接賢公卿,燕饗贐J21nB110_p0610c10遺,唯恐不盡其意。永康胡公長孺、吳興趙文敏公孟J21nB110_p0610c11頫、巴西鄧文肅公文原、長沙歐陽文公玄、烏傷黃文J21nB110_p0610c12獻公溍、武威余忠宣公闕,咸樂與公交,函詩往來無J21nB110_p0610c13虛歲。晚歲,與安陽韓莊節公性、李著作孝光,唱酬于J21nB110_p0610c14水光山色間,尤極其情趣。扶㨁他宗,無塵毛猜忌,聞J21nB110_p0610c15其賢也,斂衽不暇。斷江恩師,少林學也,薦之主天衣;J21nB110_p0610c16天岸濟師,台衡教也,挽之尸圓通。至于甄別人品,摩J21nB110_p0610c17厲後進,三宗屢得其人。古林茂師之主保寧,馭下過J21nB110_p0610c18嚴,楚僧無賴者數人,將愬之于公府。公偶遇于旅邸,J21nB110_p0610c19設豐食食之,從容謂曰:「吾雖不識古林,聞其為禪林J21nB110_p0610c20名德,子等將不利之,君子以為何如?人不如且己,否J21nB110_p0610c21則恐罹大咎也。」眾沉吟良久,稽首列拜而去,事遂寢。J21nB110_p0610c22公性至孝,自恨蚤喪父,養母純至。及亡,春秋祭禮無J21nB110_p0610c23闕,且請名臣書父母群行,樹碑于墓。生平無躁進意,J21nB110_p0610c24高麗瀋王遣參軍洪瀹施《大藏經》于二浙,瀹自負通J21nB110_p0610c25內外典,不復下人。入越見公,茫然如有失,力言于王J21nB110_p0610c26邀公游燕都,將振拔之。過吳,辭以疾而還。持律甚嚴,J21nB110_p0610c27不敢違越,撫世酬物,終始如一,不以久近為礙而散J21nB110_p0610c28其誠。逮革代之後,囊無一錢,唯存書史五千卷,盡散J21nB110_p0610c29其徒之能文者。著述頗多,未脫稿輒為人持去,其外J21nB110_p0610c30集曰天柱稿錄。公自制詩文曰寶林編,類聚古今人J21nB110_p0611a01為寺所作者也。嗚呼!賢首之宗不振久矣,凜乎若九J21nB110_p0611a02鼎一絲之懸,公獨能撐支震耀,使孤宗植立于十餘J21nB110_p0611a03傳之後凡五十年,非賢者其能致是乎?濂總脩元史J21nB110_p0611a04時,開局于善世院,始獲識公。公以濂為文獻公門人,J21nB110_p0611a05時相過從慰勞者甚厚。及公既歿,公之徒總該久與J21nB110_p0611a06濂仲子中書舍人璲游,乃奉天衣萬壽禪寺住持元J21nB110_p0611a07淨狀來求銘。濂久未及為,而璲為該請之愈力。今該J21nB110_p0611a08以材獲選,俾返初服,為河間長蘆都轉運鹽使司判J21nB110_p0611a09官,又移書申言之。今家食多暇,據狀所書,推原傳授J21nB110_p0611a10行業之詳而為銘,文辭雖繁,而不敢殺者,稱人之善J21nB110_p0611a11法,當如爾也。銘曰:

J21nB110_p0611a29我如來設教,騁威神玅智之力,示超絕極致之理,視J21nB110_p0611a30萬劫為旦暮,剎那之頃三際現前,是故以生滅為一,J21nB110_p0611b01雖出入靡常,而真如之性炯然長存。既無染淨,亦無J21nB110_p0611b02寡多,習其學者,往往深入禪定,後天地而不凋,不知J21nB110_p0611b03孰謂之死、孰謂之生也。扶宗宏辨禪師現坐玉几道J21nB110_p0611b04場,說法度人,而絕去來之相,預建塔於廬山石耳峰J21nB110_p0611b05下,期他日為設利之藏。其上首弟子師秀持岳林、佳J21nB110_p0611b06山、良珵所聚事行,徵濂為銘勒諸塔上。嗚呼!有若師J21nB110_p0611b07者,其殆能齊死生晝夜之理者乎?師名崇裕,字約之,J21nB110_p0611b08毗陵陳氏子。其母某氏,夢龐眉異僧,乘肩輿,直叩寢J21nB110_p0611b09門,呼曰:「吾將假館于斯。」母覺時有娠,十月而生。四歲J21nB110_p0611b10始學步,七歲入小學,資識超群童上,十六解通儒家J21nB110_p0611b11言。然體素尪弱,十日而九疾,每睹佛菩薩像,輒胡跪J21nB110_p0611b12瞻禮依戀,不忍舍父母,以其應夢,冀徼靈釋氏。愈之,J21nB110_p0611b13命從壽昌院東林曉公為沙彌。院有大梨木,三十年J21nB110_p0611b14不發花,及師之來,花開滿枝,結實大如斝。東林知為J21nB110_p0611b15祥徵,度為大僧,俾受具足戒。俄蓬累而出,登雙徑山,J21nB110_p0611b16謁寂照端公,鞠明究曛,唯以觀心為急務。閱二年,未J21nB110_p0611b17有所證入。偶遊東坡池,因操觚成一偈。寂照見之,喜J21nB110_p0611b18云:「此龍象器也。」命為侍者,使其便于咨叩。師弗從,復J21nB110_p0611b19走天目山,見佛慧義公。佛慧受以「萬法歸一」語,師淬J21nB110_p0611b20礪益力,雖金墻鐵壁,必欲拓開乃已。佛慧亦期師有J21nB110_p0611b21立,所以警發者甚。至又三年,師急于求證,復走中天J21nB110_p0611b22竺山,參廣智訢公,一造戶庭,如膠漆相入,即決以超J21nB110_p0611b23脫死生大事。廣智為舉臨濟無位真人之言,且詰之J21nB110_p0611b24云:「爾還知否?」師不覺下拜。廣智云:「爾何所見而作禮J21nB110_p0611b25耶?」師答云:「拜者非是佗人。」廣智云:「從門入者,豈家珍J21nB110_p0611b26耶?」師云:「和尚慎毋欺人也。」廣智首肯者久之。越五年,J21nB110_p0611b27元文宗詔建大龍翔集慶寺于金陵,起廣智為開山J21nB110_p0611b28第十世,師復往依焉,選充維那之職。未幾,陞主藏室,J21nB110_p0611b29留廣智左右者十餘年,盡得其所為道。御史中丞張J21nB110_p0611b30公起巖問廣智云:「選佛場中,僧伽如此眾多,其有弗J21nB110_p0611c01悖般若者乎?」廣智云:「戒律精嚴,言行不相背馳,唯崇J21nB110_p0611c02裕一人,自受度以來,脅不沾席者三十載矣。」張公深J21nB110_p0611c03加獎嘆,師之聲光自是日起叢林中。朵兒只國王時J21nB110_p0611c04以江浙行省右丞相領行宣政院事,遴選諸方住持。J21nB110_p0611c05名既上,猶恐其未公也,投鉤而定之,師始出世太平J21nB110_p0611c06南禪報恩光孝禪寺,瓣香之祝蓋嗣廣智,云:「師以誠J21nB110_p0611c07遇物,黑白翕然宗之。」一日,令圬人塓壁,壁中隆然如J21nB110_p0611c08有物,函[彳*(前-刖+((土*白*匕)/ㄆ))]抆之,已而復然,抉之,獲悉達多太子像,乃J21nB110_p0611c09佛牙所刻成。師召工,傳以黃金,金迸裂,設利從中涌J21nB110_p0611c10出,寺僧覺阜雕小香殿奉之。遐邇施者,日新月盛,數J21nB110_p0611c11載之內,百廢具舉,名聞于朝。帝師大寶法王錫以今J21nB110_p0611c12號,尋遷九江圓通崇勝禪寺。宋之初,有神僧道濟德J21nB110_p0611c13公將示寂,累青石為塔,語其徒曰:「此塔若紅,即吾再J21nB110_p0611c14來。」暨圓機旻公來鎮法席,塔果紅色,人異之。旻公人J21nB110_p0611c15號為古佛,及其臨終復爾,懸記有三百年後大興佛J21nB110_p0611c16事之讖。師入院之夕,眾僧夢旻公至,而其塔燁然有J21nB110_p0611c17光者彌月,人尤異之。先是寺之獅子巖,大樹皆枯,澗J21nB110_p0611c18泉亦竭。至是樹則重榮,泉則再湧。識者謂自旻公至J21nB110_p0611c19師正踰三百之數,其能動物,蓋不徒然也。寺當菑毀J21nB110_p0611c20之後,唯佛殿法堂粗立,餘皆瓦礫之區。師會歲之入J21nB110_p0611c21庀匠傭工,創僧堂旃檀林以居學子。新梵音閣七間,J21nB110_p0611c22中塑觀音大士,傍列二十五圓通像,若三門鯨音樓、J21nB110_p0611c23經藏寶閣及上下塔院,屬勤舊協心而成之。時榮國J21nB110_p0611c24公火你赤以朝之重臣總戎江西,慕豔師之慈行,洊J21nB110_p0611c25請敷宣大法,申弟子之禮,受持五戒而退。洪武九年,J21nB110_p0611c26上即皇帝位,發號施令,雷動雲合,開善世院,以統攝J21nB110_p0611c27釋教,命大浮屠主之。諸方以師名聞,移主四明阿育J21nB110_p0611c28王山廣利禪寺。寺居五山之一,領其事者,若大覺璉J21nB110_p0611c29公、大慧杲公、無準範公、橫川琪公,俱一時名德,風動J21nB110_p0611c30四方,繼之者頗難其人。聞師之臨,少長咸悅,香華遠J21nB110_p0612a01迎者,接踵于道。時當仲冬,風恬日妍,天樂四聞,萬口J21nB110_p0612a02稱頌,爭言見未曾有。及其接引未悟,專指單提向上J21nB110_p0612a03之功,棒喝縱橫,逢者膽落。兩序之眾,自慶獲所憑依,J21nB110_p0612a04相與戮力。凡宮室之傾仆者起之,缺者補之,䵝昧而J21nB110_p0612a05剝蝕者完飾之,五彩彰施赫奕亦既美矣。而元輿、智J21nB110_p0612a06起二師復營田七千餘畝,以資食輪,議者謂猶慈明J21nB110_p0612a07之有楊岐、宏智之有石窗也。五年秋, 上敕儀曹建J21nB110_p0612a08廣薦法會於鍾山,遣使者徵高行僧十人,而師居其J21nB110_p0612a09首。師至, 召至便殿,問以佛法大意。師以偈獻, 上J21nB110_p0612a10覽之大悅,因命師書天界寺額。賜食 上前,師或假J21nB110_p0612a11寐,鼻息微有聲,鄰坐引裾覺之。 上嘆曰:「此老人無J21nB110_p0612a12機心,誠善知識也。」師容貌魁梧,日用之間服麤食櫔,J21nB110_p0612a13一出於天性,無所勉強。生於大德甲辰,今年七十有J21nB110_p0612a14五,而康寧如六十餘人。屢欲撾鼓而退,為眾所擁留J21nB110_p0612a15而止。三會語各有錄,行之于學者。所度弟子曰某,曰J21nB110_p0612a16某云:「惟我昭覺大師,上紹臨濟正傳,得法者固多,而J21nB110_p0612a17虎丘、大慧為最盛。虎丘四傳而為破庵、為松源,二宗J21nB110_p0612a18角立,子孫繁庶。大慧五傳至佛智、晦機。師大辨明慧,J21nB110_p0612a19洞徹心源,實與二宗抗衡,而大中大夫廣智、全悟大J21nB110_p0612a20禪師出承其後。師表人天,上膺帝眷而聲名愈彰矣。J21nB110_p0612a21師以敦篤之資、凝定之學,當皇明建國之初,作鎮名J21nB110_p0612a22山,續佛慧命,歷十春秋,輝光益衍,非有大福德者,不J21nB110_p0612a23能與於斯也。古佛乘願輪而再至意者,或其然乎?是J21nB110_p0612a24宜有以昭示方來,不當拘泥常情而弗預圖之也。」濂J21nB110_p0612a25耄矣,以辭章為口業,有來謁者,力拒閉之。今特徇師J21nB110_p0612a26秀所請而為之者,嚮真乘之善果,締般若之正因也。J21nB110_p0612a27銘曰:

J21nB110_p0612b16嗚呼!人之生也,出沒氣化之中,因成果隨,夙有一定J21nB110_p0612b17之業。世雄氏所謂假使百千劫所作業不亡者,一旦J21nB110_p0612b18遇合,雖大覺法王亦或有所不免,故濂于樸隱禪師J21nB110_p0612b19之事,恒若有傷焉。師住杭之靈隱,入院甫浹日,寺之J21nB110_p0612b20左右序言曰:「寺政實繁,乏都寺僧司之。」師曰:「若等盍J21nB110_p0612b21選其人乎?」眾咸曰:「有德現者稱多才,昔掌崇德莊田,J21nB110_p0612b22能闢其萊蕪以食四眾,儻以功舉,其誰曰不然?」師諾J21nB110_p0612b23之。先是勒舊有聞歆現之獲田利,率無賴比丘請于J21nB110_p0612b24前主僧代之,及現之被選也,大懼發其奸私,走崇德J21nB110_p0612b25縣,列現過失。縣令丞寘不問。未幾,有健令至,上其事J21nB110_p0612b26刑部,刑部訊鞫。既得實,以師為寺長,失于檢察法,當J21nB110_p0612b27緣坐移符逮師。或謂師曰:「此三年前事爾,況師實不J21nB110_p0612b28知,且不識聞,宜自辨訴可也。」師笑曰:「定業其可逃乎?」J21nB110_p0612b29至部,部主吏問曰:「現之犯禁,爾知之乎?」曰:「知之。」曰:「既J21nB110_p0612b30知之,當書責款以上。」師即操觚如吏言,尚書暨侍郎J21nB110_p0612c01覽之大驚,咸曰:「師當今名德也,惡宜有是?」洊審之,務J21nB110_p0612c02得其情,師了無異辭。于是皆謫陝西為民。聞亦大悔,J21nB110_p0612c03且泣曰:「聞草芥耳,豈意上累師德?蚤知至此,雖萬死J21nB110_p0612c04不為也。」師弗顧,行至寶應,謂從者道昇曰:「吾四體稍J21nB110_p0612c05異常時,報身殆將盡乎。」夜宿寧國禪寺,寺之住持總J21nB110_p0612c06虛了公與師為舊游,一見甚讙。師女弟之夫陳義安J21nB110_p0612c07時為青州衛知事,移戍鳳陽,以道經寺中。師悅曰:「吾J21nB110_p0612c08遺骸有所托矣。」是夕共飯,猶備言遷謫之故,不見有J21nB110_p0612c09備色。明旦,忽端坐合爪,連稱無量壽佛之名,泊然而J21nB110_p0612c10逝,實洪武十一年正月十九日也。義安與總虛為其J21nB110_p0612c11龕斂,以俟師之季父至道,衋然傷心,遣其法孫梵譯J21nB110_p0612c12走寶應,梵攜骨而還,骨間舍利叢布如珠,縣大夫及J21nB110_p0612c13薦紳之流來觀,皆嘆息而去。其年四月八日,至道同J21nB110_p0612c14其徒結竁于山陰,和塔祖隴之側瘞焉。嗚呼!師初以J21nB110_p0612c15童子從弘教大師立公于至大報恩寺,大師使其祝J21nB110_p0612c16髮受戒于昭慶濡律師。師嶷然有遠志,韓莊節公性J21nB110_p0612c17以道德辭章下帷授徒,師亟往從之。韓公察其精敏,J21nB110_p0612c18首開以群經要旨,次訓以為文程度,俯仰變化、開闔J21nB110_p0612c19曲折悉洞然于心胸,伸紙引墨思源源而不可遏,韓J21nB110_p0612c20公為之撫几稱善。天岸濟法師以佛海大弟子通台J21nB110_p0612c21衡止觀諸書,開講于虎林之集慶,師又往從之。法師J21nB110_p0612c22為析三千性具之義,及四明、孤山同異之辨,波瀾浩J21nB110_p0612c23蕩,廉陛高嚴,師能一一領解。台宗諸大老競以書聘J21nB110_p0612c24之,欲令出門下,師不從。元叟端禪師說法雙徑山,人J21nB110_p0612c25尊之為當代玅喜,師又往從之。入門,叟厲聲一喝,師J21nB110_p0612c26若聞雷霆聲,黏縛盡脫,遽稽首作禮。叟曰:「汝果何所J21nB110_p0612c27見邪?」復問答四三轉,皆愜叟意。叟顧左右曰:「是般若J21nB110_p0612c28位中人也。」遂錄為子,命歸侍司,尋遷掌記室,師年已J21nB110_p0612c29二十七矣。久之,出遊建業大龍翔寺,寺主廣智全悟J21nB110_p0612c30訢公精貫儒釋二家,行文為世模範,不輕與人,見師J21nB110_p0613a01特盛稱之。繼往臨川謁虞文靖公集,虞公尤稱之,一J21nB110_p0613a02留九十日乃還。他若黃文獻公溍蒙、古忠介公泰不J21nB110_p0613a03華、翰林學士危公素,其同辭稱師無異于虞公,名聞J21nB110_p0613a04行宣政院。元至正十六年,請師出世會稽長慶寺,陞J21nB110_p0613a05天衣萬壽禪寺,四方問道者聞風來歸,師以氣衰,倦J21nB110_p0613a06于將迎,營精舍一區而歸老焉,即前所謂和塔處也。J21nB110_p0613a07元亡, 皇明龍興, 詔天下名桑門,建會鍾阜,升濟J21nB110_p0613a08幽靈,輪番說戒。師與上竺東溟日公、五臺壁峰金公,J21nB110_p0613a09特被 召入內庭,從容問道,賜食而退。已而辭歸和J21nB110_p0613a10塔,若將終身焉。洪武九年冬十二月,靈隱虛席,諸山J21nB110_p0613a11交致疏幣,延師主之,師不得已而赴,未及期年,而崇J21nB110_p0613a12德之禍作矣。嗚呼!世之學浮屠者不為不多,習教者J21nB110_p0613a13不必修禪、修禪者未嘗聞教,師則兼而有之,且通儒J21nB110_p0613a14家言,文又足以達其意,敷闡大論、發揮先哲釋門,每J21nB110_p0613a15于師是賴,千百人中不能一二見焉,竟以無罪謫死,J21nB110_p0613a16苟不歸之于定業,將誰尤哉?師歿後一年,譯請虎丘J21nB110_p0613a17大師仁公疏為事狀,以某與師友也,來徵銘。嗚呼!師J21nB110_p0613a18于死生空矣,譬如雲影谷音,曾無繁著,何假于銘哉?J21nB110_p0613a19然不見諸紀載,恐無以白師于天下後世。濂因詳著J21nB110_p0613a20其事而勒諸碑,蓋誠有傷于中也。師生于越會稽縣,J21nB110_p0613a21父倪機,母嚴氏,皆號士族。其諱元淨,其字天鏡,別號J21nB110_p0613a22為樸隱。一時文勝多紀詠之,容貌魁偉,襟懷煦然如J21nB110_p0613a23春,世間機阱捭闔之術不識為何物,性尚風義。斷江J21nB110_p0613a24恩公與師締忘年交,斷江卒,師為刊布詩集,復請虞J21nB110_p0613a25公銘其塔,三主名山,起廢補壞,具有成績。壽六十七,J21nB110_p0613a26臘五十三。三會語有錄二卷,詩文曰樸園集,葺若干J21nB110_p0613a27卷。所度徒弟曰自宗、曰梵詠、曰梵諤等若干人。嗣法J21nB110_p0613a28而住院者,曰禪慧智湛、曰龍山普明、曰昭福楚馨等,J21nB110_p0613a29又若干云。銘曰:

J21nB110_p0613b25師諱智度,號白雲,因以為字處之。麗水人,族吳氏。年J21nB110_p0613b26十五,慨然有出塵之趣,欲就浮屠學。其父德大,與母J21nB110_p0613b27葉氏咸鍾愛師,峻辭拒斥之,師不火食者累日,若將J21nB110_p0613b28滅性者,父母知志不可奪,使歸禪智寺空中假公薙J21nB110_p0613b29髮。受具戒,即寺側楞伽庵,深習禪定,每趺坐,達旦不J21nB110_p0613b30寐,如是者四三春秋,已而嘆曰:「六合之大,如此頹然J21nB110_p0613c01滯一室,可乎?」遂出游七閩,遍歷諸山,無有契其意者。J21nB110_p0613c02復還郡之白雲山,因澄禪師道場遺址,築福林院,以J21nB110_p0613c03為憩息之所,日取《楞嚴》、《圓覺》二經鈔疏而熟讀之,不J21nB110_p0613c04假師授,章旨自通。已而復嘆曰:「拘泥文字中,如油入J21nB110_p0613c05麵,了無出期。德山所謂窮諸玄辨,若一毫置於太虛J21nB110_p0613c06者,信不誣也,盍去之乎?」又出遊浙河之西,見靈石芝J21nB110_p0613c07公於淨慈。未幾,又上天目山參斷崖義公,談鋒銛利,J21nB110_p0613c08人莫之敢攖。時無見睹公說法天台華頂峰,大振圓J21nB110_p0613c09悟之道。師復踰濤江,往拜之,問曰:「西來密意未審何J21nB110_p0613c10如?」無見曰:「待娑羅峰點頭,卻與汝言。」師以手搖曳欲J21nB110_p0613c11答,無見遽喝。師曰:「娑羅峰頂,白浪滔天,花開芒種後,J21nB110_p0613c12葉落立秋前。」無見曰:「我家無殘羹剩飯也。」師曰:「此非J21nB110_p0613c13殘羹剩飯而何?」無見頷之。服勤數載,翩然將辭還,無J21nB110_p0613c14見囑之曰:「昔南嶽十五歲出家,受大鑒記莂,後得馬J21nB110_p0613c15祖授之以心法,針芥相投,豈在多言邪?勿掉三寸舌J21nB110_p0613c16誑人,須真正見解,著於行履,方為報佛之深恩耳。」師J21nB110_p0613c17佩服之,弗敢忘。師既有所證入,儼然如白雲在天,卷J21nB110_p0613c18舒無礙。又走長沙見無方普公,走雲居見小隱大公,J21nB110_p0613c19凡當機問答,無異華頂。時至正甲申,縣令長徇緇素J21nB110_p0613c20之請,迎師旋福林,與毒種曇成、山欽二公互相策勵,J21nB110_p0613c21如恐失之。甲午,復隱楞伽菴。壬寅,王府參軍胡公深J21nB110_p0613c22安、安翼元帥王君佑復請至福林。甲辰,御史中丞章J21nB110_p0613c23公溢招致龍泉之普慈,僧徒相從,雲輸川臻,多至八J21nB110_p0613c24百人,檀施日集,食飲無闕者。乙巳,移茅山。丙午,遷武J21nB110_p0613c25峰,從者恒如初。國朝吳元年丁未,復隱禪智之岑樓。J21nB110_p0613c26洪武己酉,適建法會於蔣山,有詔起天下名僧,敷宣J21nB110_p0613c27大法,而師與焉。師初力辭,戌將強起之,師曰:「心境雙J21nB110_p0613c28忘,隨緣去住,復何拘礙耶?」遂行。暨師至,而會事解嚴,J21nB110_p0613c29遂還杭,杭人奉師居虎跑度夏。始入秋,輒趍華頂。明J21nB110_p0613c30年春二月,示微疾,浩然有歸志,四眾堅留之。師曰:「葉J21nB110_p0614a01落歸根,吾所願也。」遂回福林。五日,忽沐浴易衣,索筆J21nB110_p0614a02書偈曰:「無世可辭,有眾可別。太虛空中,何必釘橛?」遂J21nB110_p0614a03擲筆而逝。是歲三月一日也,壽六十七,臘五十二。龕J21nB110_p0614a04奉五日,顏色鮮潤。闍維之夕,送者千餘人,火餘得五J21nB110_p0614a05色舍利及齒牙數珠等。法弟大賢、上足仁哲奉骨,以J21nB110_p0614a06某年月日,瘞于院西若干步,善女人唐淨德為建塔J21nB110_p0614a07其上。禪師靜謐寡言,機用莫測,臨眾無切督之威、嚴J21nB110_p0614a08厲之色,唯以實相示人。所至之處,人皆傾慕,如見古J21nB110_p0614a09德,或持香華供養、或繪師像事之,不可以數計。空中J21nB110_p0614a10無見歿,師皆為建塔,求名公卿撰銘表之。師度弟子J21nB110_p0614a11凡二十人,平日隨機開導,所作偈頌不容人錄,故今J21nB110_p0614a12無傳者。予聞信心為一切功德之母,苟能信焉,奚道J21nB110_p0614a13之不造、奚法之不明?自圓悟八傳,至於無見,究其所J21nB110_p0614a14得所證,何莫不由於此也。師自幼齡即能信吾佛之J21nB110_p0614a15道決可脫離死生,一息不少怠,所以卒能徹究心源,J21nB110_p0614a16而縱橫自在也。世之知師者,孰不曰無見有子而方J21nB110_p0614a17山有孫者乎?誠可尚也。予嘗接師護龍河上,無懈容,J21nB110_p0614a18無蔓辭,有問則言,無則終日澄坐而已。因語二三子J21nB110_p0614a19曰:「其所謂信人也哉?」今弟子某奉道巖之狀,求予為J21nB110_p0614a20銘,予頗知師,銘蓋不可不作也。銘曰:

J21nB110_p0614b02洪武六年二月甲申,佛真文懿禪師年已八十有九,J21nB110_p0614b03一旦無疾,忽戒浴易衣,出器物分遺叢林諸友,命弟J21nB110_p0614b04子曰:「三界空華,如風捲煙。六塵幻影,如湯澆雪。亙古J21nB110_p0614b05亙今,唯一性獨存。吾將入滅,聽吾偈曰:吾有一物,無J21nB110_p0614b06頭無面,要得分明,涅槃後看。」言訖,斂目危坐而逝。當J21nB110_p0614b07是時,師寓象山瑞龍之別室,其嗣法住持能仁寺智J21nB110_p0614b08巖與所度弟子全體等共闍維之。以是年某月日,窆J21nB110_p0614b09于天台國清某山。體懼無以昭示來裔,請恕中慍公J21nB110_p0614b10評騭群行成書介,方外友用堂楩公、虛白杲公詣余J21nB110_p0614b11求塔上之文。師諱曇噩,字無夢,自號為酉庵,慈溪王J21nB110_p0614b12氏子也。祖申,宋某年進士,真州六合縣主簿。父祿元,J21nB110_p0614b13慶元路稅課大使,母周氏夫人。師生六年而稅課君J21nB110_p0614b14歿,夫人命從鄉校師游,氣岸高騫,有一日千里之意。J21nB110_p0614b15洎長窮覽儒藉,徹其義髓,人有叩者,竭其始終而語J21nB110_p0614b16之,蟬聯不能休。自以為無書不探,知解具至,遂學文J21nB110_p0614b17於修道先生胡公。胡公諱長孺,其文為時所宗,見師,J21nB110_p0614b18大加賞識。久之,藻思濬發,縱橫順逆,隨意之所欲言,J21nB110_p0614b19聲名頓出諸老生上。已而心有所感,彈指歎曰:「攻書J21nB110_p0614b20修辭,此世間相爾,曷若求出世間法乎?」乃白夫人,走J21nB110_p0614b21奉化廣法院,禮子文良公為師。聞雪庭傳公主真之J21nB110_p0614b22長蘆,乃往依焉,遂薙除鬚髮為大僧,師之春秋二十J21nB110_p0614b23有三矣。繼受具足戒於杭之昭慶,凡釋氏契經與台J21nB110_p0614b24衡、賢首、慈恩諸文,晝夜摩研,不知有饑渴寒暑。已而J21nB110_p0614b25復歎曰:「教相如海,苟執著不回,是覓繩自纏爾,曷若J21nB110_p0614b26求明本心乎?」於是篤意禪觀。又久之,雪庭遷住靈隱,J21nB110_p0614b27師往侍左右。雪庭示寂,元叟端公由中天竺來補其J21nB110_p0614b28處。元叟風規嚴峻,非宿學之士莫敢闖其門,師直前J21nB110_p0614b29咨叩,了無畏懼,機鋒交觸,情想路絕,迅電一掣,怒霆J21nB110_p0614b30隨擊,內外如一,靡間毫忽,自一轉至於六七,語愈朗J21nB110_p0614c01烈,元叟欣然頷之,命掌內記。延祐初,詔建水陸大會J21nB110_p0614c02於金山,浙名浮圖及賢士大夫皆集,師佐元叟敷陳J21nB110_p0614c03法要,及與群公辨論,義趣英發,莫不推敬。鎮南王聞J21nB110_p0614c04之,延師至廣陵,尊禮備至,彌年方遣。徑山虛谷陵公J21nB110_p0614c05道價傾東南,慎選書記之職,絕難其人。既得師,緇白J21nB110_p0614c06交慶。重紀至元五年,浙東帥閫合府公邑令請師出J21nB110_p0614c07世慶元之保聖,再遷慈溪之開壽,三轉於國清,帝師J21nB110_p0614c08大寶法王嘉師之高行,錫以今號。師之所至,皆以擔J21nB110_p0614c09荷大法為己任,煆煉學徒,孳孳如不及,多有開悟之J21nB110_p0614c10者。瑞龍院欲易甲乙住持為禪剎,師為開山院,因賴J21nB110_p0614c11以增重,直與名伽藍相齊。海上颶風發,驟雨如注,層J21nB110_p0614c12樓脩廊俱仆,師所居亦就壓,人意作虀粉矣。亟撤其J21nB110_p0614c13覆索之,一鉅木橫榰榻上,師危坐其下,若神物為之J21nB110_p0614c14者。師凡四坐道場,去留信緣皆略無凝滯,不久引退。J21nB110_p0614c15叢林中慕其名德之高,每闢室以居之。師數戒諸徒J21nB110_p0614c16曰:「吾與爾等研究空宗,當外形骸、忘寢食,以消累劫J21nB110_p0614c17宿習,然後心地光明耳。」自是日惟一食,終夜凝坐,以J21nB110_p0614c18達於旦。 國朝洪武二年, 詔徵江南有道僧,而師J21nB110_p0614c19與焉,館于天界寺。既 奏對, 上憫其年耄,放令還J21nB110_p0614c20山,越四年而終。師脩身廣顙,昂然如野鶴之在雞群,J21nB110_p0614c21文思泉湧,有持卷軸求詩文者,積如束筍,當風自清J21nB110_p0614c22美。師從容就席,縱筆疾揮,須臾皆盡,長短精觕,無不J21nB110_p0614c23合作。鄉先生袁文清公桷指師謂人曰:「此阿羅漢中J21nB110_p0614c24人也。」觀其所作,驃騎山、疊秀軒、列清軒三賦,駸駸逼J21nB110_p0614c25古作者。渡江以來,諸賢蹈襲蘇李學,以雄快直致為J21nB110_p0614c26誇,相師成風,積弊幾二百年,不意山林枯稿之士乃J21nB110_p0614c27能自奮而能至於斯也。翰林學士承旨河東張公翥J21nB110_p0614c28曰:「噩師儀觀偉而重,戒行嚴而潔,文章簡而古,禪海J21nB110_p0614c29尊宿今一人耳。」其為縉紳所推許類若此。日本國王J21nB110_p0614c30雖僻在東夷,亦慕師道行,屢發疏迎致之,師堅不往。J21nB110_p0615a01王與左右謀欲劫以歸,浙江宣慰使完者都藏之獲J21nB110_p0615a02免。自時厥後凡遇師手蹟,必重購之而去,且詫其能J21nB110_p0615a03放異光云。師平生製作甚富,悉不存稿。晚年重修歷J21nB110_p0615a04代高僧傳,鍥梓行世,筆力遒勁,識者謂有得於大史J21nB110_p0615a05遷。嗚呼!真如性海,無不[尒/口]攝,玅用流行,見諸文句,其J21nB110_p0615a06與實相不相違背,苟欲岐而二之,失之遠矣。唯師達J21nB110_p0615a07理事之無礙,本性既明,所寓皆法,辭章散落於四方J21nB110_p0615a08者,俊偉光明無非佛事,特用表而著之,以見不二門J21nB110_p0615a09中本來一體,無分別異同者,猶未能泯本跡而忘物J21nB110_p0615a10我也。其視師為何如哉?銘曰:

J21nB110_p0615a28姑蘇之區,山川清妍,其所毓人物,性多敏慧,學禪那J21nB110_p0615a29者以攻辭翰、辨器物為尚,雖據位稱大師,亦莫不皆J21nB110_p0615a30然。自宋季以迄于今,提唱達摩正傳、追配先哲者,唯J21nB110_p0615b01明辨正宗廣慧禪師一人而已。師諱智及,字以中,蘇J21nB110_p0615b02之吳縣顧氏子。父茂卿,母周氏。師之始生,靈夢發祥。J21nB110_p0615b03及入海雲院為童子,智光日顯,釋書與儒典並進,其J21nB110_p0615b04師嘉之。同見閩國王清獻公都中,公大賞異,留居外J21nB110_p0615b05館,撫之如己子,使其祝髮,受具足戒。師聞賢首家講J21nB110_p0615b06法界觀,往聽之,未及終章,莞爾而笑曰:「一真法界,圓J21nB110_p0615b07同太虛,但涉言辭,即成賸法。縱獲天雨寶華,于我奚J21nB110_p0615b08益哉?」遂走建業,見廣智訢公于大龍翔集慶寺。廣智J21nB110_p0615b09以文章道德傾動一世,如張文穆公起巖、張潞公翥J21nB110_p0615b10危、左丞素皆與之游,以聲詩倡酬為樂。師微露文彩,J21nB110_p0615b11珠潔璧光,廣智及群公見之大驚,交相延譽唯恐後。J21nB110_p0615b12師之同袍聚上人訶曰:「子才俊爽若此,不思負荷正J21nB110_p0615b13法,甘作詩騷奴僕乎?無盡燈偈所謂黃葉飄飄者,不J21nB110_p0615b14知作何見解?」師舌噤不能答,即歸海雲,胸中如礙巨J21nB110_p0615b15石,目不交睫者踰月。忽見秋葉吹墜于庭,豁然有省,J21nB110_p0615b16機用彰明,觸目無障。師雖自慶幸然,不取正有道,恐J21nB110_p0615b17涉偏執,于是杖策游虎林,升雙徑山,謁寂照端公,自J21nB110_p0615b18列其所證甚悉。初寂照嘗以法器期師,聞其言喜甚,J21nB110_p0615b19因勘辨之。師隨機而答,如隼落秋空而兔走荒原也。J21nB110_p0615b20精神參會,不間一髮,未幾,命執侍左右,以便咨叩。俄J21nB110_p0615b21遷主藏室,師取三乘十二分教益溫繹之,宗通說貫J21nB110_p0615b22袞袞如縣江河,聲光煒燁,頓超諸老上。至正壬午,江J21nB110_p0615b23南行宣政院舉師出世昌國之隆教,海濱之民暨清J21nB110_p0615b24淨四眾,手持香華,百里驩迎,如見諸佛。師為升座說J21nB110_p0615b25法,不翅大將樹建旗鼓、申令發號,聞者靡不畏服。乙J21nB110_p0615b26酉,轉鄰剎普慈,其激揚誘掖,如隆教時。戊戌,江浙行J21nB110_p0615b27省左丞相達識帖穆爾兼領院事,延師主杭之淨慈。J21nB110_p0615b28兵燹之餘,艱窘危厲,人所不能堪,師運量有方,軌範J21nB110_p0615b29峻整,綽有承平遺風,較之普慈,君子恒謂過之。丞相J21nB110_p0615b30猶謂未盡尊師之道,辛丑之秋,復請住持徑山,補寂J21nB110_p0615c01照故處,師亦不辭而往,風動四方,考德者愈眾。亡賴J21nB110_p0615c02男子瞿範日饕盤飧,主庖者厭之。瞿御而去,赴部使J21nB110_p0615c03者訴院之僚屬受賕,誣師為通裏私。使者攝師問狀,J21nB110_p0615c04師了無懼色。癸卯,省憲二府白其冤,強師復還徑山,J21nB110_p0615c05緇素駿奔,如戴父母,至有樂極而悲泣者。 皇明龍J21nB110_p0615c06興洪武癸丑, 詔有道浮屠十人集京師大天界寺,J21nB110_p0615c07而師實居其首,以病不及召對。乙卯, 賜還窮隆山,J21nB110_p0615c08山即海雲所在也。戊午八月,忽示微疾。至九月四日,J21nB110_p0615c09索筆書偈而逝。九日,行荼毗法,火燄化成五色,有氣J21nB110_p0615c10襲人,如沉水香,齒牙數珠不壞,遺骨紺澤類青琉璃J21nB110_p0615c11色,室利羅交綴于上。是日,其徒大均、士龍等藏于所J21nB110_p0615c12居山之陰寶盈,分爪髮歸徑山,卜于無等才公塔右J21nB110_p0615c13瘞焉。世壽六十八年,為僧五十一夏,度弟子若干人,J21nB110_p0615c14嗣其法者若干人。師長身,山立昂然,如孤松在壑,威J21nB110_p0615c15令嚴肅,其下無敢方命,故所至百廢具興。然處事達J21nB110_p0615c16變,接引後進又如春風時雨之及物,使人不自知。元J21nB110_p0615c17帝師以為賢,為錫今號云。師在天界時,濂頗獲聞其J21nB110_p0615c18緒論。于其歿也,上首弟子普慶住持道衍藉是之故,J21nB110_p0615c19自狀其行來請銘。夫圓明妙性實具三千,四聖六凡J21nB110_p0615c20悉從中現。諸佛不得已而說經,雷動蟄驚,風行草偃J21nB110_p0615c21者,為明此性也。諸祖不得已而忘經,絕其枝末,直探J21nB110_p0615c22其本根者,亦明此性也。性在是,則道在是矣。柰何道J21nB110_p0615c23喪性乖,非惟學徒為然。至于師表當世者,一從事于J21nB110_p0615c24末學曲藝之間以資清玩,其去佛祖之道蓋亦遠矣。J21nB110_p0615c25有如師者,可不表之以為東南龜鏡哉?師出世時,窮J21nB110_p0615c26隆山石夜走,及蒞普慈,神降于人,述師清嚴之狀。天J21nB110_p0615c27之生師,殆不偶然。四會語有錄,其機緣已備載之,茲J21nB110_p0615c28不敢勦入也。銘曰:
